"Hearing blood-curdling screaming and then the phone i mean there's a lot of stuff people don't know i used to call the city desk at the new york post. Transparency kathy is going through right now and i think it has to do with two things one. The documentary took a turn for the left and she kinda got real about what her life was like at that camp and really expose some of the things that her mother had turned a blind eye to our head like let grace by over the years. And when you're a wasp you never talk about the things that happen in your home especially when it comes to your parenting or your children and i think the second thing that kind of opened her up is the real housewives and seeing the people and audiences appreciate that when she gets real that they love it and i think for her. It's probably freeing to finally stop saying that. Oh paris was perfect and this was great. She was like no. I couldn't find his mistress as what parent would say that. But it's probably freeing an instagram wasn't around and so that like hollywood hayday where it was like paris and lindsay holly brittany and everybody was partying. I don't believe instagram was around. So you know now. Like parents can go on instagram. Be like okay. She's going to definitely posted at this club or she's going to be in paris and she's going to be you know overseas. I know where she's at least. We're her location is back then. It was the paparazzi you know might have had tilted. You had people those how you found out but those wouldn't come out until the next day i understand in. That was a crazy time like that. Was you know we would see this footage outside the clubs and paresis boyfriends would be driving the cars crazy on if you guys remember this but her boyfriend like wreck the car one time on camera like she was screaming at him to stop and that she was scared like she partied hard so i can understand why she was. She was terrified. Well and those were the only. That's the only perspective that you had to. You didn't have other people that were on instagram. Posting their own footage or different and other story it was only what you saw on the tabloids but it was nice to hear from cathy also to know that she was really concerned during this time when all when we saw out there while now where are their parents do they care and she clearly cared into also that vulnerability to call the post as a mother and be like. I'm looking for my child. Reading leaked that information like cow. The hill today definitely could have leaked it and they never did. They never did it. Yeah you know. it's so funny. And she's just ingrained in me how much she cares and it would make me sick to make her worrying. So my sister's not that way my sister will go away for a week and be like. Oh well you know. Misery does not get away with a lot but just saved dynamic. 'cause my family is still call. I send them my flight information. Like did i made it home. Live with My mom's like do you know that. When i was growing up you could smoke drink and the bars so when i was sneaking into the bars at eighty years old. Well you know. You can't do that anymore when i was growing up. He's like my father. People magazine confirmed that your mother is on that show now and so they were calling me and then i just kind of avoided them for a couple of days. Because i didn't know. I was embarrassed by i got caught so i felt like the child. You know the roles reversed. Yeah absolutely and but we're good now. We're okay. It's so funny. Because i wanted to ask you of nikki appears who do you think would make a better future real housewives of beverly hills. Never neither one of them never ever not their thing. Yeah you know it definitely makes sense your new talking about your hesitancy to do the show in the past because just as such a super fan of the show always wondered how strange it must feel for you to watch your own family drama sort of play out to the world to see and not be a part of it and when you came on this season was there any part of you. That's like will now. I'm here to sort of share. My voice in point of view like did you wanna clear anything up or were you just like the past is the past and we're moving forward in a positive direction. You know the so much went on an it's an emotional roller coaster for each and every one of us and as i was saying earlier in one of my interviews we just go on and on and on and sometimes camera just goes on literally. We could start filming like a after dinner. Let's say at ten o'clock and if we could go to one in the morning yeah without a break and we like it that way because we're all talking about this. We're talking about that if anyone has to go off to the restroom it's real life. It's just somebody goes off to the restroom that they back. Everybody is very passionate in how they feel and what they're disgusting. Whatever topic were on. It's real and so with that you let your guard down and you kind of forget the new thing. Gosh what did i say. Yeah or what did i do. Or it's really you have to watch and see and by the way there's not i'm not sure sometimes. What what they will use when you think of all the hours and hours that we are filming sometimes not everything can make it into the show with kim. Supportive of your decision joining the show up. I was honestly so surprised by her candor when speaking about them and what she thinks about hanging out with this group of women. Here's that interview. Of course you know we've us beverly hills fans have always senior from time to time but the truth is we've been clamoring for years to have you be a regular part of the show. So what change. What made you say yes now. I think truthfully two things this is. Everybody knows kyle nigh time you know after that first episode or that first season with kevin kyle. That didn't sit too well with me and So i did. I stopped watching. And i'm not i'm not a tv person anyway. And then you know. Kyle and i've had some ups and downs and we were always so close and that was very sad for me and so late in the i'd say in the last couple of years we really have worked on it and tried to let go of any negativity and on top of the producer calling and calling and calling and not letting up and it was during the quarantine you know during the pandemic and kyle will not letting up i felt very flattered and it made me very emotional and feel good that kyle wanted me and to spend time with me and i thought wow. This is a great way to spend time and we're on our relationship. Thought about how she felt she said. I think you should go for it. She said just. Don't lose your temper and kinda giggled. She said yeah. Go for it and off. Yes no yes no maybe rabi whatever literally until the last second the first episode that i filmed. I still have not signed anything. I had not signed a release and Yeah so that's when my girls said that they they said i was being very shady. I'm sure you heard that. Oh no oh yeah they were. They weren't too happy about joining now. Now they're okay. I think way which. Which girls weren't happy you're harrison nick. Really why they just thought that they said you know. It's all happening is really very beautiful. I although i don't think is bellport north work or i think bellport is. I think it's like before the forks basically it's closer. Yep it's very beautiful. And i just feel like there's like a hilton moment happening so i don't i don't know and then maybe that maybe it's for money. I think hile kyle and kathy had a falling out. At one point over their husbands real estate careers like the diverge and now they're they're close again. Who is played by albert finney and erin brockovich They're they're they're in divorce and they're accused of embezzlement and fraud so it's like a pretty big deal and this all was playing out while they were filming people really excited for it to be on the show and i'm excited but like anticipating i'll be honest. I was excited three episodes in. They're kind of like alluding to it. But nothing's happened yet on that front. Erica changes were being harassed. Yourself and the star of this show. I just didn't see this coming. Is kathy did the mother of paris and nicky. The hotel heiress by marrying rick hilton. Her husband She is so badly. And so daffy. And so fucking funny. It is an absolute delight and makes me rethink everything ever thought about the hilton family. I mean in that includes like everything that paris nikki and barron have ever done. Vanity fair ran an article Speak i think it's two years ago with the headline bill and melinda gates epic deboer saga enters its next phase and the the deck was the blow of a billionaire. Duos twenty seven year marriage is always going to be. Rife with drama. Now come the private investigators rumors of affair and four employees shape as i was saying. That's all it was in story so you don't need to say vanity fair's paywall don't click. I just told you everything you need is now and i think this is interesting. This is the second story. I saw other than the new york times. Actually that is alluding to the fact that like a lot of stuff could might come out in the next week does divorce proceedings content continue. Carry on and this is a new trend because it also happened with chris harrison. Yesterday where it's like news is about to drop and it's like these people get like who are reporters on this story. No step coming with the can't say it and so they they sort of like prime the well for it And i think it's an interesting tactic. And it's interesting to see this sort of the downfall of bill gates do you see it as a like. I'm melinda gates. Are melinda french gates. I should say now team. Strategic tactic cause me. I read this and i was like. Oh someone in her camp lawyers must be trying to soften the ground and preempt a lot of this stuff. I don't know whether that's right again. That's just me having a suspicion and reading this piece but it does a little bit. Seemed like what's going on. Yeah it seemed to like someone speaking on background. Can't use it but it's being but but it's like you know there's something there so yeah i mean someone has to be talking plus you know. And i think just because of the goodwill of the that bill melinda gates foundation engendered But it's sort of like pointing out things that people already knew. So it's almost like creating a framework for whatever's calm and pulling everything together. No i think that's smart. Can i ask you a question. Mother vanity fair paywall sure because i clicked on this on my phone and then i opened it again on my computer. In order for this this podcast. Have i used to affor-. I think you may have kim it. Jeff is kind of taking on the national enquirer and was politically motivated yet. So i guess like our expectation for a billionaire. Divorce is very high at this point. But i don't know they are. They've entirely reordered our lives. They're like far more. You know historically significant that say meghan. And harry and there is also a convergence if medias that are interested in it there's a celebrity but also obviously like business internet that's really interested in the wall street journal has been all over it and york times has been all over it because of the microsoft unlike foundation implications but also just a money implication. You know so. I'm not surprised. I guess i guess i'm i wasn't paying that close attention to bill gates is life beyond him being slightly mentioned in the epstein things which i didn't really follow closely. Some people did. But so. I guess i'm a little surprised. By how much is there. Yeah we're kind of varying depressed ox territory. But i i will say i also think that so much space was freed up by trump being president that it's sort of like the foibles of the rich mostly rich famous famous because of the rich. Have a lot more. Call them space in magazines and newspapers than it used to. Because you know you could just still all. That's on the member of the trump family. And i think there's lack of interest from the reporters as much as readers. I mean clearly. He's still popular. We don't need to get into that. But i think that's like a huge part of it you know. I think that's smart. A lot of i was struck by. This is sort of a return to you. And i don't want to say glory days for vanity fair but there is a real touch of like late eighty s early nineties like wealth empower and like and. See me to this story. That is what the original tina brown benefits was made on right. Yeah that's really. That's a good point to the original tina brown. Benny bear a huge role in elevating trump to national status. So it does go hand in hand with what you're saying but right say that name anymore on this podcast. It kind of makes me wonder like you know here. "I don't know why. I feel like i'm watching an snl skit about houses of new york. You know like it just. I don't know like this episode was just so frustrating to me and i was expecting so much more out of having heather there. I don't think she said one word the whole time there. I mean seriously though. What would we do without ebony because she to me is the only person in any of these episodes that gives us something. I mean aside from her confessionals which are always so spot on and say exactly what we're thinking in the moment. i just think she handles. Every situation objectively the best. And especially when it's like the ramona and sonia and at times even leah are just acting so irrationally. I find myself looking for ebony hoping for her to come on the screen because she's my only calming presence in this fucking mishmash and if she wasn't there just sitting around staring at each other like there's nothing she's the one who's like wow a new perspective on the situation and she can kind of break down the dynamics from her point of view what she seemed for the first time in like give her you know perspective on situations that we haven't heard before and like that's the only interesting thing kind of the table conversation going and keeping the life of the party going because otherwise it's stories we've heard a thousand times and they don't have any like landon reminded. Sonia have been friends for so long. Done this for so long. They don't have anything to say to each other anymore. I think they're only hanging out to film at this point so that just makes it really hard. They're literally work. Friends like actors who need on saturday. They do their job and they go home right. Which is not the case. With beverly hills or with jersey or with a lot of other franchises. No i this one. I mean we haven't seen all the new seasons. It's it's very hard to say season to season but this one in particular. I didn't feel this last season at all. We never have that conversation when we were just doing. Atlanta never once in atlanta ever won seven in potomac. Never once said that. Even as much as i could not stan dallas. Those women were friends. Yes oh that's just my bone vic with that. I'm right there with you to be honest but okay. Let's just get into the meat of the episode which was the eventual kind of erupting of this disagreement. I with leah and ramona. And i really do think that. Yes leah was frustrated and would have been frustrated regardless because it can feel. I would imagine incredibly condescending when somebody is basically telling you that the way that you speak is not something that they're comfortable with whichever side you're on. I can understand how that comes across very condescending especially in the face of such intensive oxy but the one thing that i kept asking myself this episode is like and this is not a judgement thing. Genuine curiosity why was she here. You know. I just felt pain for her like i could tell that this was the last place she wanted to be. Her mind was not here. She was very hypersensitive and was going to be upset by anything. Anyone said so the last person you wanna be around when your family member is dying and your feeling such a great sense of loss. Invulnerability is ramona singer. So i just genuinely felt like come on back go back. You don't need this right now. Yeah well especially given how much she knows that. These specific group of women kind of annoy her. So if you're already in such a horrible state of mind then to put yourself in the line of fire like yeah. I don't know if she had to be there. But i can't imagine that they would force sorta go and she couldn't be there like you know it's like a life or death situation but i felt really bad for her and i almost felt like that sense of. She's in such a fog that she can't see out of and it was almost making the situation even worse for her yen. We'll go back to the fight in the second. I just wanted to say. I kind of touched on this before but it was really kind of remarkable the fact that these two things happened. Back-to-back i is leah sitting on the couch and she's clearly upset and we have ramona. Go over there and try our best to comfort her avenues right. Her heart was in the right place. Pretty much just do the last thing you want to do. In that situation when somebody's actively trying to stop crying. And then moments. After we wash ebony masterfully handle that with not only compassionate empathy and grace but also i really providing kind of that sense of stability and that sense of reassurance that leah seeks her grandmother and has going to miss and so to watch them back to back. I don't think it was a production. Mooks i think it naturally happened. Like that was so glaring. The difference in their emotional intelligence. Yeah you can't even like compare it. And also just their understanding of lia like both of those things combined. It was just night and day when leah loses on ramona. Knew that was going to happen. You know like we said she was kind of out of it. Ramona was asking for day kind of like going back and forth at each other. The whole thing was ridiculous but you know something. This was honestly sneed bowl to say. I don't know if you're gonna agree or disagree out of everybody there. I think the person who performed the worst this episode was fucking lou. An honest to god. I think van made ramona look good one thousand million percent because luanne didn't know when to stop and just kept like saying every possible wrong thing you could say and ramona who usually never steps away or never shuts her mouth like never stops talking or never really knows what to say kind of took a back seat and was just watching and it was seen. This episode was like scary. I don't even recognize her. You know what happened there. Aside from obviously the lack of awareness and understanding of the concepts they were talking about like data side. If you break this down a really fundamental level it was a shot her ego and she can't take it. I mean she is. I think objectively the most narcissistic one there. Even though i think she has made strides and so when she heard ebony or interpreted what ebony was saying that she was more educated. Which evans speaking factually and that is true. She can handle it. And i don't think she could have handled it if anyone at the table said it because god forbid somebody has something that one ups her i mean this is really like a deep deep level of narcissism. Yeah and i think she also had a whole complex about being at her house with her family and her boyfriend cupped it being her saying she's always the most well traveled. Speaks those languages so somebody else kind of coming in and calling it out in a way that made her feel defensive was like how dare you. It was so hard to watch. It was kind of like the old liu and it was the same luanne that was upset with bethany introducing her to the driver by her first name. It was the same land. That doesn't shut the fuck of a better cabaret. It was a really honestly uncomfortable moment to watch in the fact that she continually dug her grave when ebony was actually giving her the grace of explaining it and by the way ebony was spot on when she made the assessment. That leah just flipped out. Screams walks away removes. Herself from the situation comes. Ramona calls every single one at the table. A ho and nobody bats an eye and ebony raises her voice a little bit and all of a sudden she's called angry needs to calm down needs to lower her voice and ramona's a hearing problem and she was completely right the the level of hypocrisy and the lack of understanding. I mean. I can't imagine that somebody watched that didn't cringe. I just can't imagine it. No me either and also to just watch it happen almost like in slow motion and then here ebony break down after it was like you can just see how this happens all the time in every day and she was like look everyone. This is what we are about like. This is what it means. When i say this. Yeah i mean. I'm i wish. Obviously that never had to happen. Because i never ever want her to feel the way that she was speaking about how she felt in the pre for the next episode. That being said i would imagine. There's a part of her. That feels vindicated and having this recorded in that way because it is such a clear representation of exactly what needs to be more focused on. I mean this was clear Honestly is now. I could not believe that land didn't stop i. I literally couldn't believe it..

But little did they know that it was water so the whole thing was just a really funny dynamic of kathy pranking them but then pranking her back and being like holy shit and seeing the reactions of the girls when they didn't know his water honestly we didn't know as water watching read stand up in her full like vitton. And like that's why when they're in the car on the way back. I can't even as i'm about to say when detailing i can't believe this is how it happened but chris only kicking sutton as to not ruin the praying and that that was the point of escalation. No i can't believe that was the point of escalation and she was whispering in the back to sutton why she just kicked her. It was like she kicked her. That i'll tell you later and sutton like built up this whole thing the way that it escalated into then sutton later saying. I've never had a girlfriend kick me like that. It was like she was so offended by that and felt like everyone was in on this joke without her. Put it perfectly if everyone did on the prank. It's on a prank. It's the weirdest thing ever. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be insensitive. I understand some people have this as part of their personality as a result of insecurity and it is really sad but also let's just beyond it was ridiculous. I mean crystal says the perfectly she goes if it's not her she's not included. She thinks she somehow the victim and that is a completely spot analysis. And that's why take her away as a reality television actor for a second okay. Imagine you're one of these women who's trying to be friends with her. Could you imagine how exhausting that was. Think about how many times like with me you and we say shit. That's not to say in passing. That's not meant to offend. Imagine if you had to be so conscious of your words every time. No i mean it would be exhausting. I also thought it was very telling of how bad of a place sutton was in this night because when sell comes in like texting sutton at the table like she's upset about it she sends about it and they're like absolutely not. We are taxing about the prank score. Was doing that from a place of love and protection to prove to say see sutton. You're just over thinking like don't worry about it so much and sutton snaps so hard ourselves saying like why would you bring attention to that like You know i. I didn't wanna talk about it with everybody garcia. Sell it again. I will say is her friend and ally in her alliance in the group so for her to snap oursel- and also in front of everybody. But it's very honestly concerning the level of insecurity there because to even think that people are texting about you obviously as an unsettling feeling to have that reaction to thinking that before you even now is really telling but the problem was even when she found out. I was like texting about the prank. She was still so offended about not being included in the prank. She's sitting there and makes everybody raise your hand if you were in on the prank. I'm the only one in. Kyle's like i didn't know car sales. Like i didn't know i figured it out like they don't care because they shouldn't care such silly stupid thing about water martinez like a prank. That i've literally done a middle school and sutton could not help herself. And that's crystals you are just a ridiculous human being after she's going on and on about the prank and the kicking in how she so offended in she was the only one purposely calculated left out which is not at all what happened and i think that was kind of crystals breaking point like she got up and left because she just like. I cannot handle somebody like that. I so got it to me. There were two people that stuck out in the scene crystal. Because i felt her on like a deep spiritual level her frustration about son's entire demeanor. And then second of all the person stuck out to me was kyle because she was. I guess the best we can put it is like she wasn't being lazy degree. Lisa garcia wasn't either but some of them they just didn't want to deal with sudden and kyle was willing to take it on herself and be like no as your friend. I need you to listen to me. you're overreacting. let's talk this through. You know she really wanted to get to the root of it. I think oursel- had tried and she wished shutdowns down. It was bizarre and it was. I'm sorry this was the type of situation where it wasn't negro shit it. This was really being overly sensitive again. It's sad that she felt this way. But also just because somebody's in a bad place it doesn't mean that the entire group who's on their trip needs to then adjust their dynamic and not do a funny prank. the brings everyone joy as not to offend somebody who is objectively being overly sensitive. Life doesn't work like that you can. Of course be kind in the way that you deal with the aftermath of it but to expected. They're not going to do something like that. "So we kind of pick up where we left off last week with sutton crystal and kyle downstairs and we can get into more in the scene when crystal and sutton are talking outside. Because i feel like in this. Nothing really productive was happening. Clearly sutton was just on another one and nothing. That was even remotely helpful was gonna happen so i think we all had a similar reaction this week as we had to last week. So you wanna reserve our conversation about the actual continental they're back and forth. Because that was the only time. I felt like progress was being a little bit made yet so there breakfast and this is just another thing before we even get any sort of kathy in flesh content. We find out that she comes into son's room with her fan and eight pillows gets into kyle's bed. Eating chips takes a red bull thinking. It's coke is up till to have. I mean i couldn't believe the footage that they had of her from the night before she was like really truly asleep. Walker was amazing though. I just love her i. I don't ever to be annoyed that we're just talking about how funny kathy hilton is but it canceled talking. Funny kathy hilton is. She doesn't even try and she's walking around with her jumbo fan and she loves to sleep and she puts ear drops in her eyes. Like batches. how that's gold that's gold. She doesn't care that's what it is like. Truly genuinely i do not think she is phased at all if anything i mean according to justin. Maybe she's actually a little bit more. Tim the normal. But i do believe that she's relatively unfazed. This is her. she's doing this for fun. I was so deeply frustrated by sutton this entire episode and we can hold back that conversation until we get to dinner and post dinner but we also how she reacted the night before. And if you wanna give her the benefit of the doubt and say that people sometimes have off nights she was tired she felt sensitive. Whatever it was but even in this conversation when crystal was merely trying to explain her side of it and kind of where she was coming from and then although it ended relatively peacefully her focus is still on the fact that she was so hurt and so offended by crystal repeatedly asking her. You know you're not that girl that doesn't see color right. And so it was just her level of defense to me really impacted her ability to listen. And that's never the spot you wanna be in. No i think sutton's overall issue especially in this episode is her quick immediate reaction to get defensive all of these situations immediately like dot is her goto as she just goes on the defense and feels really victimized really personally offended in her things and then almost can't hear anything else going on like she's completely blinded by that as the situation progresses end i get it. I get wanting to be defensive of yourself but it can't like change the entire course of the conversation and also make you like blackout to anything else going on. That's the issue there. The two are in her mind. The two aren't able to coexist. And i think also just a actual root of what they were talking about crystal understood and made it clear that she knew son's heart was in the right place when she said the fact that she doesn't see color but what she was trying to. Communicate is basically like that is counterproductive. Mantra reminds at to have because the whole goal is that no you do see color. Of course you see caller. It's just that seeing color doesn't impact the way you treat people and that it helps you to recognize your internal buys to change internalize shutting off the idea of seeing at all is not helpful to the mission that we're trying to prove the whole goal is that you can see it and then also you cannot act on the internal buys you may have so like it just bottom line. I don't think either of them are bad people. Obviously i just think that crystal is so significantly more aware and understanding of all of this and obviously some of that comes out of the vaca. Unfortunately she has been on the receiving these experiences. I mean us on her confessional. She talks about the time and she's at the gas station with her dad and he has to run back in the car because he's being harassed and you see she was ten years old with was what thirty years later. She still crying from. Because what a traumatizing experience. Watch your father. Fear for his life at the hands of racists that's terrifying the best point that crystal made was once you talking about the difference in generations and sutton is twelve years older than her which is really kind of a big difference when it comes to these conversations and what she was saying was the generation above her learned not to see color like we're all equal you can say i don't see color and they were taught that whereas the younger generations i think our generation and which she's a part of have learned that we wanna see color and then respect and understand and appreciate those colors in a different way so by talking about that. I think she kind of was seeing. That sutton didn't know what was wrong with saying that we don't see color thing and that she thought it was coming from a good place in saying i see all people equally but she sutton wasn't understanding that crystal was trying to teach her like we've moved Prostate like there's progress past that point and she almost wanted to help her. She did want to help her. That's my point and you're right. I think the reason that the way she did it was so brilliant clearly. Didn't necessarily work. Because i was john hai defense was she actually didn't personalize it. You know it actually wasn't really about setting anymore..

A documentary is so sad. I'm really interested to see all the clips and everything they've pulled together but nothing has happened yet. Like if there are things that are quote new that no one has seen or heard before. I'm interested in that but otherwise this is just like a glorified breakdown of all of the headlines of things that we know and also speculation. I don't think anything is coming from their camp or any. I don't know. I want the documentary. Done right at the end no me to.
