"Bob Ehrlich, was a one term governor. We now have a two-term governor Larry HOGAN, and what is the state of the Republican party as it stands today in the state of Maryland. I think it's worse now than it was during the Erlich administration. I don't see the party has has has grown the kinds of candidates. The party is attracting is there's a very fine people. Don't get me wrong. But I think it's time for somebody to pick up the ball and run with it and lead the conservative resistance here in Maryland Erlichs victory, in my estimation, was sort of an anomaly, you might not see that happen again for a long while because the Democrats would have to come up with such a lightweight candidate that the democrat donors, and the Democrats themselves would say, I can't go for this person. Just like they did with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. The only two Republicans who have won two terms in. This state is is former mayor of Baltimore. And governor of Marilyn Theodore Kelton, the other now is Larry HOGAN mckelvin was in effect a. A liberal in Republican clothing because he was much like Mack Matthias as the US Senator here in Maryland. You can't win and Marilyn as governor unless you had Democrats support, which means that basically you're going to have to acquiesce in bend over or be ideologically in line with what some of the Democrats are thinking, that's that's the reality of the whole thing. Understood. But when you say mckelvin is was more of a liberal Republican. I think the same applies to get Larry HOGAN, and and you're right. Clean. Kennedy. Townsend was a weak candidate. Anthony Brown was a weak candidate. Ben jealous. I tell you. We all predicted at least I predicted. It was going to be a double digit loss for for Ben jealous another week candidate. And so you're right democrat votes, Frank. But not every democrat is a liberal not every democrat is a progressive. You got center, right? Democrats still out there remained Democrats. But because they wanna say in what the party does. And there are few and far between you don't. You. Don't see any Norman stones around anymore or even a gym anymore. I mean, Jim broken was probably a little left of center in some issues right of center. You don't see a Norman stone representing the Dundalk area anymore. You don't see a Jim pine down to the Dundalk Essex area anymore. These are all conservative Democrats. You don't see them anymore here in the state and the only way they're going to get in is if I just made. The the example of of how. Bob Erlich was able to get in because Kathleen Kennedy Townsend was such a weekly. Well, let me ask you this question. Then we got to go to. Not not taking any sides. Or I'm looking at it. I understand but reality what benefit or advantages to the Maryland Republican party to elect or Republicans elect a governor who is going to give the Democrats seventy five percent of what they want instead of one hundred percent because the Republicans we talked about this is the democrat now. It's the Republicans fault for not grooming from the ground up from the grassroots level on up potential statewide candidates that are conservative the Republican party is at fault. And we all we have as far who's the head? We let me let me finish here. All we have here in Maryland. And Helen Bentley made a point of this as well when she was alive is that we have a lot of what I call one and done candidates. They come out of nowhere. They run for a high office like congress or the US Senate, they lose, obviously. And you never hear from them. Again. You've got to start out. Just like I was talking to Nino Mangione yesterday. He's doing it. Right. He's starting out in the house of delegates. The best thing for him to do in my estimation. If you would ask me run a couple of terms there, forget the state Senate run for contacts. Mostly what happens we certainly wish him luck. And he certainly is. Up and coming in his crib. But but again, whose fault is it is it the Maryland Republican who's the head. Let me ask that who is the titular head of the Maryland Republican party or last. I'm not sure who it is right now. It was joke cluster before we lost. Yeah. What what he was the head of the party at Dirk before he ran Dirk hair is the head of the Republican party who's the titular head that would be the governor the highest elected office holder of the of the Republican party is the governor. He's the titular head of the party. What is he doing? Or what has he done to grow the party.

"We spent talking about the archdiocese of Baltimore Baltimore City, issuing church ID cards to illegal aliens. And if that didn't astound you the next item, Mike, the Washington compost radical left wing rag on by one of the staunch lefties in the country billionaire Jeff Bezos morning coming up in about ten minutes. Has come out and endorsed candidate for governor. And that candidate is not been jealous. The Washington compost has endorsed Larry HOGAN. For Maryland governor. That's right. Larry HOGAN shifted gears and struck a clear embracing note to the day, he took office. He promised to surmount, partisanship, and wedge, politics and favourable what he called a bipartisan politics have middle temperament to his immense. Credit HOGAN, Republican or stay were Democrats. Enjoy two to one advantage has largely fulfilled that pledge rejecting what he called the extremes of either political party and taking a pragmatic centrist approach that has been a tonic in a venomous era. What Mr. HOGAN lacked and continues to lag couldn't be an endorsement without a dig. Now could in terms of Maryland's future is he has made up for brokering non doctrine solutions. And okay, stocking traders, neither charisma nor inspiring rhetoric in an era of Boris divisiveness, and that hominem attacks his comportment or office has been civil and business. Like we didn't support him when he ran for governor in two thousand fourteen we do now. Mr. HOGAN deserves a second term, and then go into some of his accomplishments and things that he needs to clean up and so on and so forth, but they conclude by saying residents of the state tell pollsters overwhelmingly, they think it's headed in the right direction. Mr. HOGAN doesn't deserve all the credit for that. He has good fortune to lead during boom times. But he is clearly part of the good news in polarized times. He has stuck to the political middle from where he has fashioned agreements that will benefit millions of Marylanders. That's no, easy feat left unsaid here. They did do take a shot at Trump in the in the endorsement, Ed, but the reference to boom times who do you think is responsible for that? Here in Maryland. That would be President Trump and his economic policy so as much as governor HOGAN who does not like the president in any way, shape or form and has repeatedly distanced himself and made remarks regarding the president, you know, the Washington compost, repeat does not repeat does not endorse conservatives, and this is only going to be further proof that we know that the current governor nice guy has great ideas and has done good things for Maryland. But he is more of a center left Republican. And that's the reason why he gets the Washington compost endorsement, basically, that's the only way you're going to win a statewide election here in Maryland. I mean, you could be a conservative leg. Andy Harris on the eastern shore. Because that's basically what you have on the eastern shore the makeup. Is primarily conservative types that living there voting there. You go into other Kelly Montgomery County, you almost no for sure. Because of the demographics there that it's gonna be a democrat runs for congress or in Prince, George's county, the same thing. So I think Larry HOGAN is doing basically if you wanna get elected you have to do what you have to do. And that is you almost have to straddle the face on on on a lot of different issues because you're not gonna you're not gonna win who do you think was more conservative. Bob, Ehrlich, or Larry HOGAN. I would contend that early. Conservative on a couple of issues. He veered more centrist on. But as far as again, you go back and you look at the record now. Bob Erlich couldn't get reelected in Maryland. See what happened is that? He wasn't. He wasn't to the right enough. And that's why basically one Martin O'Malley came along and the people that were the Democrats that were supporting him in the first go round jumped ship the second time. And let's let's be honest here. Intellectually honest, the candidate that ran against Larry HOGAN last time out Anthony Brown, not as weak as Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, but pretty weak pretty weak overall. And I think this candidate is weak, and I've said it from from from the get-go Ben jealous might be a nice guy. Maybe he'll blame the the compost stuttering. But the guy is he's down by eighteen twenty points in the polls with four weeks to go. He's not gotten any traction ideas. And even though the compost says jealous platform is Embiid, but it's too costly. Maryland can't afford the guy so going benefit again from a weak opponent. Well, he's, you know, look, let's face it. The HOGAN wouldn't be in worry is now early wouldn't be wouldn't have won one of the first go round had it not been for Democrats voting for for either one because we have a two to one majority here in this state, favoring a democrat. So whoever it is is going to need a democrat votes. And and HOGAN has been able to get them. Early them the first time, he ran. But when when a rather formidable candidate. In Martin O'Malley came out in the second. The second go round.
