"Kate Bilo with us on reporter's roundup. This one person's account makes you any less likely to believe the stories of victims probably going to believe in the first place from the Justice malade case what prosecutors called his faults. Police report of a racist and homophobic. Pag covering this part of the story. Just a doodo, Justin. You learned that small. Let's taste highlight some serious issues when it comes to reporting those hate crimes in the salt. That's absolutely, right. Steve. Well, we'll start with a two seventeen FBI report. They found out that more than out of more than fourteen hundred Pennsylvania police agencies only twenty three of them have even reported hate crimes, and I talked to some experts in the community about why they think that might be I talked to Alexander Ulsan with the liberty city Democrats. And he said, there's there's a number of reasons that might might happen. He said one is people in the LGBTQ community are scared to come forward because they could face repercussions after workplace. He said also they're scared that if they don't have enough enough evidence, they won't be believed in another is if they take it to a police force that does not friendly with the community. They will be looked at. They will be looked at in a negative light in their case will not be handled. All right. Thank you. Justin, Justin Trudeau with us on to round up another delay in the guilty plea from the man accused of. Raping and killing fourteen year old grace Packer or suburban bureau chief Jim Melwert covering that story and joining us on roundup gamma. What's the latest on this yesterday were a few days into this on Tuesday? Jacob Sullivan was in court. He admitted to the facts before lunch of of the the rape and murder of grace backer. Then after lunch the plan was being finalized where his rights were explained to him. What rights he was giving up how the guilty plea works. And as part of that he was asked if he's on any medication. He said he is, but he had not taken his blood pressure medication that day and not long after that. He was complaining of of not feeling well and had to go to the hospital because of a spike in that blood pressure yesterday, of course, was washed out with the weather. He was back today. And after about an hour again of having those rights and how the plea works explained to him. He complained the headache. Now, a Representative from the sheriff's department told the judge that he that Sullivan initially refused medical treatment. He just wanted to take some aspirin. But they. Call it a rescue squad blood pressure was to twenty over one forty. So they took him back to the hospital. So is supposed to be back in the morning to try again. Jim what happens after the plate? Now. Once this plea is finalized. They'll start picking a jury that jury will have to decide as part of this plea is first degree murder. So they'll have to decide whether he should get life in prison without the possibility of parole or if you should be sentenced to the death penalty. "Kate Bilo is in the weather center for you just how cold are we talking? We are talking very very cold. We are talking if you were planning on keeping your Turkey outside to let it thaw bad plan because temperatures on Thursday likely not going to get above the freezing. Mark. And in fact, we may not even get above thirty degrees all day on Thanksgiving Day. Let's take a look at what's happening out here. We'll take you through the setup right now. There's not a whole lot going on. We had some lake effect snow showers try to drift down towards the Poconos this afternoon, the lake effect machine is kind of shut off a little bit now. But our next front kind of this cold Arctic boundary can see we've that north west wind pushing over the Great Lakes that's going to dive through our area by tomorrow evening. And that's what's really going to usher in this blast of just insanely cold air for this time of the year. Temperatures well below average. We're talking almost thirty degrees below average on Thanksgiving Day. Now, it's not balmy out there right now by any stretch of the. It's only forty one in Philadelphia forty in Allentown thirty-seven in reading and thirty nine in Lancaster, the whole month has been below average so far, but we're going to take it to a new extreme on Thanksgiving Day. This is the cold that's headed our way with temperatures only in the twenties and low thirties and cities like Pena in Chicago Minneapolis of thirty three. It's even colder to the north. And this is all rotating south and eastward as we get into the next few days. It's the polar express big cold Canadian high diving southward now as we head into Friday, it's gonna start to back off at least a little bit. But the worst of it is of course, Thanksgiving Day. Because of course, it is Arctic high pressure builds in highs only in the twenties on thanksgiving single digit wind chills possible in spots early Friday now.

"And meteorologist Kate Bilo has been tracking Florence since the beginning. She joins us now to tell us when Royster from the storm will make its way here Kate Jessica, it's going to be a while. We're going to be waiting for the moisture from Florence to lift up the eastern seaboard because of a big ridge of high pressure. That's planted over us during the weekend. That's actually keeping Florence. Off to the south, and it doesn't have anywhere to go. This system is moving very very slowly. Usually these storms hit they move inland. Pretty quickly and that mitigates the flood threat at least a little bit. But this is similar to what we saw with Harvey in Houston last year that storm made landfall and kind of looped back around and just stayed for Dave, and you can see the rain is not letting up over portions of eastern and central North Carolina right down into northeastern South Carolina as well. Tonight in some of the heaviest rain right now coming down just north of Jacksonville Kingston over toward Fayetteville Wilmington also seeing some of those bands of heavy rain. Lawrence made landfall at seven fifteen this morning. It was a category. One hurricane rights Bill beach maximum winds at ninety miles per hour. Florence has now been downgraded to a tropical storm. But notice as Courtney just told us the lack of movement, it's moving west of just three miles per hour. And that's going to keep it in the Carolinas right through Sunday. Very very slow movement with heavy rain continuing right into Sunday. And then that's one. Continues to lift in and we may get into some of its moisture this right here is Tuesday. So coming up, we'll track just how much more rain Florence could drop before it's out of here. And what it means for our our area next week. You Jessica, thank you. And with more than a million people evacuated from Florence's path some of those evacuees made their way to Atlantic City where an offer for free ocean front rooms became their refuge Alexandria center with how one family from North Carolina is riding out the storm and a boardwalk hotel, Alex whole,.
