Both of these guys I talked to are in management, and both of them said good things about George Payton grinder hard worker. But they said, Hey, he's not gonna you know, don't expect him to come on and be Overly gregarious or overly talkative. That's just not he'll answer. Your questions will be respectful, and that's fine with me. You got a football guy in there. So what if he didn't like to do too many media things? That's okay. But they haven't said anything publicly. So I mean, if I'm drew lock, all I can do is control what I can control. I come back in great shape, stronger, bigger, ready to assume that I'm gonna be the number one quarterback and that's the mindset he has to have. Everything else is out of his control. One thing about George Payton to when he was at Minnesota. Not only did he kick the tires, he bought the tires. Kirk Cousins, which was a big, big, big deal. That was what was the three years and 84 Million? Yeah, and every single penny guaranteed, which which, at that point was almost unheard of in the NFL. And Kirk cousins. It's not like Kirk Cousins was considered. The premier quarterback in the NFL when they paid that kind of money, So it was a bit of a risk that they took. Kirk Cousins has put up good numbers. They just haven't been able to win with him right, like they wanted to. On a totally agree about Drew lock. You know, you just keep your head down. You work hard. Try to ignore all of this, which is really tough to do, especially for a young guy. Really tough to do When you're hearing your teammates. Talking about the Shawn Watson. When you're hearing these rumors, Russell Wilson could be available. Matthew Stafford, you know a couple weeks ago. It's pretty hard to ignore all of that. But you just keep your head down. You keep working hard and get better. And we'll see what happens. Will he be the starting quarterback in 2021? I think chances from me. I think chances are pretty good that that will be the case. It's been rough, You know, in sports media, we had Chris Westling over the weekend. I didn't know Pedro, but I knew Chris Perez really well, really Well, you know, we weren't best buds or anything like that. But I knew him. Quite quite frequently had frequent interactions off of, you know, out of the public eye, but, you know, trading and one of the people I traded information with, actually, um and yeah, shocking. Not something anybody saw coming. His fiancee is devastated right now. I know Charles Robinson over there. His coworkers. Yahoo! The podcast together. Devastated right now, Um You know, thoughts and prayers and everything else with his family. You know, it's rez was three years younger than me. Yeah. 37. Yeah, And it really was something that you know, it kind of just resonates the old mortality a little bit like Chris Christie. Little bit older, but, um You know, Torres being younger, It kind of kind of rocked me a little bit, and, um, you know, it's It's a thing like, you know, in the moment. One of the things I've always tried to do is I always tried to find interactions I have with people on Twitter. If they pass, and that's to me. It's just good is a photograph. You know, It's like a memory that we shared right up there in the intersection of two people or whatever. And, you know, I tweeted out one earlier. I didn't look at the content of it. I should have looked content because this is the first one that came up at the top, and it was him. Saying. Congratulations on the You know, I'll break for breaking the devante possibly story, whatever. Um You know, people on Twitter I took that to be some kind of like self glorification took weird. Like how, whose mindset runs their first. You know, I was just trying to say rest in peace, man and kind of memorialize a moment or whatever. And I don't know if two for me watching people do that. I believe it because I was like these people disgusting like it's you know. Yeah, that's and that's unfortunate that people look to pull Others down right more so than build them up and again we were talking about right before we came on. The show is about how sometimes it feels like a social media. There's just really no benefit of the doubt. Yeah, the assumption of good faith has been lost. Don't affect social media or what, but like I don't get it all the time, and sometimes it's easy to shrug off. This was one that was easy to shrug off. You know, you get people out there to try to compare it to the right. And so we, You know you had that interaction. You know, I had a tough couple of days on Twitter last week where there just was no assumption of good faith on any of the reporting will be done on this doing on the show. Like all of a sudden in the Kareem Jackson thing came out. They were kind of a lot of people out there. They were, like, Well, just admit you were wrong and that you were wrong and it's like, I don't think what we were saying was ever wrong. It Zamora along the lines of Shawn Watson. The most interesting thing to him. The most important thing to him is getting out of Houston. And and so in that context, I don't I didn't think we were ever really reporting anything. That was incorrect. But again, there was no Assumption of good faith. There was no benefit of the doubt. Just like in your experience right there with that tweet where you're trying to demoralize for us. Paler. There was no assumption of good faith people to sort of assumed you're being kind of a jerk. And it's like, really in that moment, like for all your bombastic nature, they think I'm really like that crappy the person people really think that you do you do you know you've you push the buttons I get on. I have. I've made it on before, but I mean, it's like somebody died. Like like, Who's Who's disgusting enough to do that? It's somebody's death. Yeah, so and that's gross. And and that's where I think you know, people kind of get lost in it. And they sort of just think you're just continuing with the stick. And at that point, that's like that. To be able to capture in the entire audience and have them understand your point of view without alienating half of you thinking you're spending things or being really good point. But I don't have necessarily anything really negative about them. Especially guys who can cover because they devote defense is right now the middle field open, which is which is cover to cover four, so you almost play with two free safeties. Three guys who can play away from the ball that play in those in those deep sounds rather than We talked about a true strong safety that's more down in the box and play almost more like a linebacker in a lot of ways. So, yeah, so I absolutely with you. And you know, this might be a draft where you end up coming away with a couple of safeties. Maybe definitely dropped a couple of DBS anyways. Like no matter what But the fact that you can get guys that can play a little bit corner of they need to the only thing that Steve kind of point. He's 5 11. He's like 6 ft. You know he's kind of right in that range, but honestly, I don't think that that's a big deal. If you are playing a boundary corner, sure, I think we're going a little bit of a conversation. But even then, if it's not a requirement for the job well, and that's the thing I think that, you know, I think Korean Jackson showed that size. You know, as far as that kind of stuff in everything You know, he's Karim is not exactly the, uh, not exactly the world's biggest safe. He's 5 10, a buck 83. So, um, you know, I think that I think he's shown that that tweener as long as you get the skill set to be able to play it. You don't have to be 63 to 20 to play safety. No 100%. So that was fun.
