Why Overreach Could Doom Democrats in 2022

"Election. Good morning. Selena, how are you? Good morning, sunshine. How are you? I'm not so sunshiny. The browns got blown out in Cleveland yesterday and everybody's banged up. I think Kareem hunt torn Achilles, both of our tackles are out Nick Chubb has heard. I'm just grumpy. I got stuck in steelers traffic, but that's all I got. This is close as I got to watching them. Okay, well, I loved your column. I want to play this clip again. It's from the Terry McCall, in the key last governor's debate talking to Glenn young. I don't think Paris should be telling schools what they should teach. What is the significance when I've read your calm, but explain it to people who haven't yet gone to Selena zito dot com and read it. Well, I think the whole key to this entire race is one word. And that's overreach. And I think that that is the sort of chaos and power grabbing that the voters exactly voted against with Biden. And yet they are seeing with all of the Democrats. And I think that that listening to Virginia voters, that is the problem. What color has? And it's the problem that Democrats are facing across the country in these off year elections, Virginia and New Jersey are the larger races, but even in small municipal races. I think that Democrats are going to have a big problem in a couple of ways.

"Would say pretty big part in this again. They're all young guys. They're all guys who should develop in should grow my only concern wasn't i said it when candle is draft. What makes him different than tk. What makes them different than a brilliant speaks. And i get it. They're different body types. Say what you will. My point is of these developmental guys. What makes him stand out and after game one again small sample size. We haven't seen a lot so we'll see but i. I don't want it to be week in week out. Chris jones only getting pressure. Frank clark coming back whenever he comes back that should obviously help but until he does who was gonna step up. Yeah well andy. Reid said today that matthews already coming back next week. So that's solved in the secondary still. It sounds like though waiting on. Frank clark's hamstring to get right whatever that means and So yeah it's it's gonna be really interesting to see if he misses another game. You got to start thinking about okay. Is this going to be a recurring thing and again let's not forget and And maybe we're beating the drum here but no no non quarterback in the nfl is making more money than frank. Clark and i think even then only like five or six. Quarterbacks are are making more money or have a bigger cap it this year so expectations fair or not. That's what you get when you sign for that much money. Yeah what do you think. No one hundred percent. And he's heard a lot from troops came down the one thing. You can always point to look back on his. at least you can say. He showed up when it matters in the playoffs. He was a major part. Win a super bowl so no matter what we think about the contract you can always look back and say we know we at least got one. And he was a major part of that one thing i want to touch on the chiefs of struggle against tight.

"Welcome back to the attic podcast. We're talking the roller coaster of a game be still my beating heart Was what i had to tell myself all game long. Let's talk about that defense You know look we're missing. Matthew were missing. Frank clark willygate juniors going to be out for three games. Are you giving them a hall pass and saying hey look we're good. We one guy's missing. Who cares or are you concerned by what you saw. Four fifty of sixty minutes on sunday afternoon slightly concerned but also if they show up when it matters. That's what you want anyways. They showed up when it matters. Chris jones legitimately took over dan. Sorenson huge play allayed. I mean cornerbacks. Huge play late mike us. I think he was worth that. Six round draft pick. I mean nick bold. I think look really solid for most a game for part of the time out there. He looked like the best linebacker on the field. Zoo guy i get it. Maybe my eyes or little bit blinded by that but he looked really good. Seven tackles against two of the most physical running backs in the nfl. He does need to work a little bit on his pass coverage but he wasn't known for that mizzou. What's going gonna take. Time is at a new level as long as he wraps up which he did. I'm happy Lammens was great and special teams. My goodness at each show up one thornhill. That was a tired. Matthew play got his hand in there. Perfect defense no pass. Interference gets his hand. Last-second flies at of schwartz. His hand when it mattered. Most the defense stepped up. I do think we do need to see more pressure on the defense align. I didn't think i heard reads named one time. We had talked about ozzy's and they kept hyping them up. It was a great signing. I'm not gonna write it off after one game but it was a little disappointing. You get a new toy and you don't even hear from him. It was basically chris jones and then what so. If i had a major complaint it would be on the defensive line outside of chris jones. Yeah i gotta be honest. I'm not sure what to make their remit. Remember this recall with me. Maybe what you. And i just in general chiefs kingdom what were we saying after the draft like feel back then we were going. We need to sign..

"How the offense was able to come back because the first half. The browns in my opinion played as perfect as they possibly could. Kevin stansky did a helluva job in the first half extremely aggressive going for on that fourth down. When chris jones had the offsides Went for the two point conversion and got it. They made the the chiefs play from behind day for as equally aggressive as they were in the first half. They just let off the guests. How many times back in the past and we see andy redo something similar. You get a lead you try to run the clock out. Well guess what too. Much time left on the clock kevin's to get think we'll learn from this the thing. The browns played a fantastic game. But just let that sink in the browns play. Nearly perfect in the chiefs. Were still able to come back a lot of folks have. The browns is what the third best team in the afc. A playoff team the chiefs first time with his offensive line against great defense one of the best stevens affronts able to still hang thirty three able to come back just to me the says more about kansas city chiefs than it does. The cleveland browns. That yes how good. Kansas city is cleveland browns. Nothing to be sad about. You played a very good game. She's just better. Yeah i look. I wanna give credit to the browns here because they had a hell of a game plan early executed to perfection right. Stefanski was just looking like a coaching genius. Nick cia. I mean nick chub and cream hunt were running through our defense through the chiefs defense like like a knife through your melted butter like it was crazy it was it was insane to watch except it was the same feeling. I got whenever like lev. Bell used to be the patient runner for the steelers that he was. And you know he's gonna run. He does that stutter. Step thing and you're like you're like that dude gonna get a first down and we won't be able to stop it and we know it and we couldn't do it so i you know the brown looked. The browns lost to a great team. If you were watching the buffalo bills yesterday right now do you really think turn number two like yes you do. Because i'm watching this brown's team and i'm thinking you know what they didn't have some key players to jed rick wills went out to left tackle. You know odell wasn't even in the game at all grant in the safety. I mean they were missing some key guys to you just like the chiefs. They're very young team. they're only going to get. They've got sixteen.

Y. Hilton came back and I think that for anyone who has T. Y. Hilton you say well yeah I got a plane he's back I gotta go but you knew there was a risk considering the time he missed the a two huge drops in this game that could change the perspective of this fantasy performance but it was a it was a very quiet night how do you handle that when you've got a guy who normally of course you have to play him but I think everybody was concerned inserting them into their starting a lot of considering the time he had missed yeah but I was one of those individual effort you don't have it your respective trade form and if you can hear that I plan kind of a must win situation and you're not a hope for the best you know obviously he wasn't operating at the hundred percent so you could tell that the only one it wasn't long boring necessarily but he didn't walk as quick off the line is we are going to cut you why don't you mentioned the concentration issues in that game would you like a for the pendulum in the other direction but I mean it was a tremendous match up and at the massive advocate for a proven commodity like eighty why held I'm gonna try to out there nine out of ten times every time so you know they're better days ahead for him but you know it kind of goes to it's a fast read this week if I could I like both corporal of the Detroit Lions Kane who crossed that he can duplicate what he did last week in a breakthrough performance with hello Kitty and I would think yes based on the match up is based on the fact that he has minimal competition allow him but there is the man never know what Korbal gonna come your general direction are you feeling good about the Atlanta defense they're coming off a just a colossal performance against Carolina against New Orleans it wasn't the same production from a fantasy perspective but they did hold the saints the nine points they have Tampa this week they they look like a different team out of the by how bout Atlanta's defense this week are there are definitely interesting but the one thing that we do know about game is Wednesday and he's a magnet for turnovers so the odds are strong you're going to be at least a couple of factors in this game you know with him being fully responsible for them whether going into trouble coverage or coughing up on a stack up you know you're calling about camp they they give up a ton of fantasy points the opposition what's weird about Atlanta's resurrection defensively as I say all over was asked about you locally this week in the journal constitution okay I wouldn't go through with your family with this game you know what so we could be made to go doesn't work is communicating better we're just talking that's it that's all it took the opener by all the talk of the field to know what's coming at you mischief around but that's what they claim so I don't know spoke with mirrors we've only got a table side who with that revamping that turn around and you know the the communication is critical I don't know lightning going to strike a third time not against this camp offense which is just so damn exports with Mike Evans and Chris god when you can't learn on Atlanta anyway if there could be a focal corona eight barber the trenches but it's all about you in this Wednesday and unleashing down the field again gestures with a ball ball but again my screaming at one another yes because Winston will surely step on a lake he usually does Brad always good talking to have a good weekend about remanded happy thanksgiving thank you happy thanksgiving Brad Evans of course of Yahoo as we get you set for week twelve of your fantasy football season Buckeyes already up that didn't take long on Penn state it's amazing Ohio state who I think is the best team in the nation they're ranked number two Penn state's rank date and yet the spread in that game was nearly three touchdowns twenty and a half you've got away for the Buckeyes there pearly against the netting lines toll free number eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six come right back at your calls the rest the way.

"About twenty minutes from now if you love basketball, and you love the NBA, we gotta have an honest top, honest, talk because. AM? Our sports got a problem. And I love the league and love the NBA. We'll get into it in about twenty minutes. Right now, we're discussing tyreek hill and how the rational side of my rain knows. He's too good. And when the legal system runs its course and the eventual long suspension from the NFL is over he'll get another chance because he's still five years away from turning thirty. That's the rational side of my brain. But the emotional side of my brain wants to say, there's gotta be a line. Where teams would rather lose without him than win with them. And a multiple time offender of being an abuser of a pregnant woman and a toddler has to be that line. But morally it just feels like it has to be that line. So when I operate in that head space. I'm cautiously optimistic that thirty two teams will independently decide that he'll never play again. Even though if I had to bet on it. I'd say he does I can't say that it's a slam dunk because I just wanna believe that commonsense. Morality will exist somewhere in pro football. But people, of course, are tweeting the Anthony Perkins on Twitter, which I always appreciate during the show. Could you imagine tie Ricky will playing on your team? And you advocating it. He's individuals. Evidently, not even really waiting for the suspension and legal system to play out. Dan, Dan, Samuelson tweets in hill is so damn good. He's worth a gamble to bring to a team the Browns with John Dorsey would be a great place to sign him. Sean over tweets in. Get t hill to Seattle and let him ball out with Wilson would be unstoppable. That's the one with his first last name and picture in his Twitter account advocating from to go to Seattle to ball out. Brench tweets in hills, a horrible person and should be in prison. But as long as he's allowed to play. I would like my colts the sign him. There you go. So I guess it. Probably won't take for the legal system to run its course and the NFL suspension to come down some fans already cool with it. It's an amazing world. As long as my team wins ten games. I'm happy. It's crazy out there. It really is. And again, I'm not even I'm not even fronting like, I'm not some huge moralist on as I literally was advocating months ago for the bears sign Kareem hunt to reunite with Matt Nagy because the bears needed some running back help. But I think that tyreek hill closer to OJ Simpson than he is Kareem hunt. Kareem hunt is a jackass Kareem hunt gets drunk and fights people and evidently doesn't care if it's a man or woman cream hunts a bad, dude. But I believe that there's a player like Kareem hunt than every NFL locker room who gets drunk and fights people that's different than domestic violence. And then tyreek hill with the strangulation and that being ten times likelier to lead to homicide and doing it to a toddler Tyree. Kills in a whole different stratosphere of scumbag of Kareem hunt. And I just I want to believe that that's the line. And evidently, most of you were telling me, I've got a full Bank of phone calls telling me that that's not the one cool. So so the line is basically you've got to be in prison. Or else teams can't help themselves. That's what we're saying. If you're good enough, and you are walking the earth. You will be signed. Okay. Great. Makes you feel good eight five five two one two four two two seven is the number Anthony's in Michigan. He's on CBS sports radio. What up Anthony? Hey, danny. How are you? I'm all right, man. Hey, I had a chance to really think about this situation. But one thing that I told you call a screener, I'm more concerned for his so-called fiance, the to unborn children and the little boy if if football is taken away from him permanently because he used the word terrified not fearful here affi-. That's a very very strong word. I used to be a corrections officer, and I was in charge of a guy. John Norman Collins was one of the most the Tories serial killers in the state of Michigan. And we used to talk baseball. You would have never known that this man was capable of what he had done. And so we time we kill. I'm not surprised that he was able to fake his way through the counseling and such. But when he is really allowed to be himself, if that's him on that that voice conversation. He told you who he was and I want credit. Oh, she just passed away. She had a saying that when a person shows you who they are believed him, and I wish I could think of her name. And so here's here's a suggestion. I have as a solution. How about if he's allowed back in the league the majority of his salary those who are trustee and goes to the mom of his children. So that because they're going to be the big losers in all of it. Yeah. Yeah. Anthony, I I of my Angelou is the is the is the quote. I in a utopic worlds. Yes. Tyreek hill gets to play football. We get to watch tyreek hill play football. And the money goes into a trust that only his kids can touch once. They turn eighteen years old, but we don't live in fantasy land. I mean in my fantasy tyreek hill like fans wouldn't want him to play again. And I got people tweeting me with their first last name and picture in their avatar being like nab bring him to Seattle to ball out with Russell Wilson. So we're a long way from fantasy land, you know? So you're right that that would be the best case scenario because if tyreek hill doesn't play football and doesn't earn that also will hurt his family. But is that the responsibility of an NFL team to bring him into their community? And then just so that his kids can have a nice life in terms of finances. I I don't think it is what it is. Like, this there are there are teams out there that would take him. Once this whole process is done because he's so young. Now, the issue becomes if you if you take it away, and he says to himself I have nothing to lose. Anyway, he's already told the lady that she should be terrified allegedly. So what what is to say that he's already put his fingers around her throat, and we call that lethal lethal force. So he has no conscience as far as. Going to the ultimate Yemen. Listen, I I appreciate the call. He is the worst of the worst that has been established. Right. It is it is the scum among us. I don't know what he's capable of net. And I said, I appreciate the call me to move on. And take another one before I change it up and talk some hoops. But that's why I said he's closer to OJ Simpson. Then Kareem hunt. He seems to be capable of anything. That tape is horrifying.

He missed two games of the pre the postseason in the missed the first eight games of the regular season. So that's about the team game this season sixteen game low. So this about a year suspension. I think that's fair. It gives them an opportunity to stay in the counseling to show that show that he's remorseful. And it gives the NFL like, okay, we took. This series as soon as we found out, and I know what you should have found out beforehand. They never got into this bar. Well, Kareem hunt should have never done what he'd done, and then we wouldn't be the situation. But I think it's fair. I think the NFL is like, okay..

"Kareem hunt wrote supposedly Kareem hunt wrote this apology, which are not buying it for a minute. Somebody obviously wrote this forum, I'm not buying that. I don't care if you changed mentally. I don't care if you're mentally sick. You never put your hands at a woman Kareem hunt should never ever ever. See it NFL field over again, guys. I blown by by signing through is one million dollars. I don't care you'd never do that and create much never seen NFL field ever again. Yeah. It's sad. It's a business. And obviously, you know that. But you know, it's it's really sad that it would come to this. And the reason Ray rice then get picked up because teams looked around and said, well, he has this off the field issue. And he's not he was good at one time. Don't get me wrong. He was very solid NFL running back. But he wasn't the same player that he was at one time. So it comes back to money. What what's the return and Kareem hunt right now, he's at the peak of his career. He's playing amazing football. And you know, how important is are the morals of it? When Kareem hunt is one of the best running backs, the NFL, and it's sad. It's more than football at this point. It's sad northern football. It's more than a game. It's more that these guys should be in jail right now. I I always say if you have you ever hit a woman, you're you should never see the light of day. I it's it's absolutely sickening. I fully agree. And the Browns showed us who they are. And I'm just glad my team didn't take them. Yeah. And also going back to that phone call was just talking about you want the Browns to lose lose lose. I already wanted that even when they lost. What was it twenty nine straight games? I always cheered against them. I just don't like that organization at all really wanted to have some all in sixteen company with the lions. And now after this. Are you kidding me? I mean, this is this is a complete disaster in Cleveland. They finally gained some momentum. They had a pretty good. What was it six seven when season last year with Baker Mayfield under center, and then they pick up Kareem hunt. Ditches looks horrible. Yeah. Eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five eight hundred nine two three nine three five. If you ever hit a woman, you should never see the day Kareem hunt. You never there's there's probably one thing that he loves in this world. It's probably it's probably football. Usually take you that thing away from Kareem. Hunt. This the NFL the league should not have let Cleveland signed this, man. He should put a lifetime ban on Kareem hunt. If it's not fair for great rice to come back. Why is it fair for Kareem hunt to come back? I don't understand it. I mean, I it's sickening. It's like a car crash. You can't look away from because Matthew said he'll be right back in August. Watching lions watching the NFL, I'll be doing the same thing. So I don't know if that makes me a hypocrite or not, but it's a car crash. You can't look away from you. They drag you right back in it. I don't know about it. Yeah. It's I mean, this whole situation is awful. I mean, and I don't think I think this. I completely agree. This guy should get a lifetime ban. But the thing I was surprised me more is it's been two months in this guy's already right back. A full season. Yeah. Earlier a full season. It's barely any time. At all. I mean, he basically missed like what the playoffs and a couple regular season weeks. That was it. I mean. That's very surprising to me. And I just can't believe that anyone. I mean, it's obviously not a big contract. But still I mean, you surprised me that someone would have the. Just the thought to want to sign this guy. I thought this guy would go through everybody had no one would even want to come near him. But I mean, I guess the Browns wanted to and so as Matthew said on the phone, you know, hopefully, they can continue to rot, and they just lose lose lose. Because I do not want to see this guy succeed at all. Yeah. You know, my my last thing I'll say about Cleveland is your joke. The whole city. You're the worst city in America. There's no one can deny that you have the worst city in America the satisfieds franchises, and that's coming from the Detroit Detroit fan who deals with sad franchises every day. But this move with Kareem hunt solidifies your status as the worst sports city and all of America. So congratulations in two months. Two months. It took Cleveland to grow the marbles to sign Kareem hunt. It's a too much and they take a year. No one goes. So mentally sick to hit a woman. And then goes, yeah, I'm better. Now. I I went through, you know, I went through a therapy mind is good. My brain is fine. Your brain is fried. You're a second being lifetime ban. Well, deserving Kareem hunt. I'm sure that people are going to be bashing this just as hard as, you know, even Colin Kaepernick because I mean, this thing is absolutely sick. When does the NFL doing? That's the biggest question Mark here. NFL? What are you doing? I have to get my mind away from this topic. Matthew, great, call style did buddy. That was a great call. But I also want to mention this because when we come back, what's your favorite sports movie? Let's change from depression. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts. That's a hint towards my favorite sports movie. Because we'll be back after this. From. Are you a.

Kyler Murray commits to pursuing NFL career and turns back on baseball

"Come from Kareem hunt to some good news for the NFL. Cuyler Murray says he is a fulltime QB. Now, the Oakland A's had his locker ready at spring training for this week. Yesterday is Twitter announcement from Murray apparently the first time the as heard of this decision to the show by Murray off this was the first batch. That he didn't tell us. That's a terrible. And I didn't know this statement doesn't mention them at all statements all football. Now. The flip side is the as believe that the statement came from his football agent and was worded. So that the NFL got the correct signals. But they still think the as do they still think they have a chance to get him back for baseball. If the draft and go well, and they can give him more money than the NFL Kent Steff on the as I'm like, yo what kid good luck going to Super Bowl. And you want to play baseball game. Go pick another team. This wasn't the best college baseball player coming out either. So it wasn't like he was really. He's a great athlete. Great deal. Great athlete for sure really good player. But I mean, if I'm as do especially that weight off the professionalism of the contact right now is stock to drop a little bit to where he fell to tonight. The overall the Oakland because there was the fear that baby he would decide to play football. But. Yeah. He's he's a really talented player. We'll see where where does. And that's a bad job though. I mean. They paid them one point three million dollars. You gave them over a four million dollar signing bonus you're due to pay 'em. You know, a three point one billion dollar what was left of that Buddhist March. I you have a locker set up at spring training. And then you find out via Twitter that he's committing to the National Football League. Now, we're talking about it earlier in terms of his size. I would have to believe obviously that we might not know what is true sizes by collar Murray, obviously and his agent they know where his true is. And if he was actually five seven, I calibre would probably be committing more to baseball. Then he would the national football true. True. Oh, I mean. So we could discuss baseball hall to right? But I mean, but you look in Mookie Betts is what five eight. Great exotic. He's not a big guy five eight five nine. Maybe he's five nine a scion Oklahoma column. Mary kay. He he better to ninety six and twenty teen and the two thousand seventeen okay, he better twenty two something he played that much. I guess that's what it sounds like. I mean, he had he had fifty six hits in two thousand eighteen yet six hits twenty seventeen. So it sounds like maybe it was injured dot I was I can't see them saying some towns Watson, I play baseball. But I mean, it's a good good batting average. But I'm just saying like this is not like he wasn't the top guy coming out of, you know. The college baseball draft here, you know. So it's like the as if I'm the as and he does that that's disrespectful, man, that's unprofessional. Why would? Bets is five nine. So they get nothing, by the way. If he does stay with football. They don't get the pick back because they already signed to a contract had they not signed him. They would have gone a compensation pick. But since they did they get nothing. Really? Well, they took the gamble. There were guys that night that said they were surprised that the as took the gamble then I'd overall pick. But if Murray was completely committed to baseball, and he wasn't gonna play Oklahoma football for a year. That many people thought that he would go he would be available for the athletics with the ninth overall pick. So we'll see maybe they maybe they believe that we'll see in the draft process. Maybe it'll be a great indicator in terms of of what Murray ultimately decides to do. But right now he's

"We will support Kareem through this process. Utilize our resources, however, permitted to help them become successful on and off the field as long as he continues to show the commitment necessary to represent this organization. Now that is as bad as up as you're going to get that was not written by John. Dorsey that is is somebody that they went to them and said, okay, help us get this output. Put a spin on this that will allow us some political cover if Kareem messes up again, I'm torn on this because I do believe in second change too. I just don't think that he should get one. This Greg's point that he should get one this soon. And that's where the NFL comes in the NFL can say, look we understand that you want to use a roster spot on Kareem hunt. But we don't have to let him on the field. And half of our customers are women and Ramona how many shows that we done how many times have you and me, and Ben and everybody talked about how many times the NFL gets these things wrong. Comes down like like, they they they should start their own crisis PR firm because in Ray rice was a good example of that the way they handled that whole Ray rice, the difference between Ray rice and Kareem hunt is that Ray rice was at the end of his career and Kareem hunt is twenty three had Ray rice been Twenty-three. You bet he would have been back in football. They would let him back on the field. Now the question is do they let Kareem hunt back on the field this season. And it's gonna be really interesting. You know, there's a lot of I talked to a lot of players about this too. Like, my, you know, my point before like talk to him in see listen to the what what women say about this and try to hear the other point of view like you you can't put yourself in another person shoes. And sometimes you hear things like don't ever hit a woman, and you just have to trust whoever taught you that at told you that. But there's a reason why people say that. And there's an it helps if you talk to women about domestic. Violence or about even if it's not to Mr. crowds. Even if it's just a man who is much bigger and stronger and forceful talking to you in an aggressive way. Like, I've had that happen with people in my life. Like when a when a man gets angry. And it's it's scary for a woman, I'm a jock. And I get scared like I like I'm not going to be able to win that one. And I don't want to even try to win that one. Now, we're talking about this is just a regular guy that we're talking about NFL player who's much bigger and stronger, and and let's face it. The guys anybody who would do what he did has mental problems. I mean, you can you can look the other way on it. But you have a mental I was in moral. I mean, somebody did not teach you that under no circumstances. You can you ever hit a woman? But it also is when it comes down to this, John it's like I believe in second chances. But I haven't heard from Korean I've every heard from him and saying, you know, part of a statement today, but in very very. I'd be prepared. And I also sympathize with professional athletes who get targeted by by either women or other people like, I know guys go to a club and people try to take them. When you work for us Marcellus Wiley had a great story that you know, he was breaking up with a girl and she didn't want to break up with them. And she was on the phone calling the police telling the police that he was hitting her. Walmart Sylla's was bear standing next to a police officer. Wow. And so- Marceau's. "Then I don't have a problem with the team signing him the best thing I can say for Kareem hunt as of today because there are a lot of unknowns still floating around is that since the video came out. He has not made the situation worse. A lot of guys. Do he has kept quiet. He did that interview. He seems to be on point in terms of the statement he released but those. Unknowns are key to all of this. The Browns are saying there are other steps he's going to have to complete before he gets on the field with us. The NFL has get to suspend him. You're Maine's in limbo on this Commissioner's exempt list, but he's on a one year deal. He's a restricted free agent afterwards. And the Browns are first to market on the idea that unlike Ray rice, this is a player who has value in the present. I imagined the suspension will come before the first regular season game that league will get that taken care of they will get that dealt with. But I think for a lot of people in the way the absorb this. We're going to have to deal with this idea that banishment which is the easiest thing to say in a time. Like, this is probably literally not the best idea for anyone because the consequences is so high that you have like a permanent banishment for guy like this. You're really making life harder. Women who might ultimately be abused because the stakes are so high and it creates more dangerous situation. Ultimately for them. I don't know how it is that he's going to get into the Grace's of a lot of people and explain to them that he was really sorry. Some people he is never going to win over. And that's kind of the trade that you make when you do something. Like what he did. But this can be something positive alternately. Right. If he does he's supposed to do. And he signs up to be that guy to be like eight man, you don't need to be like me, then this can turn into something that in the end. I don't want to say overcomes would happen. But it can be something that can be turned into something better than just being to do to beat somebody up at a hotel. He says in the statement that he is a work in progress. And that's a good start for the sort of language. You would like a guy wants to make himself veteran be honest about it. But now we wait for the NFL to see what kind of courage they have hind their convictions. And there we go next name Marcus Morris said nights twenty eight point lead to the clippers at home fans booed and left early. And after the game, Marcus Morris had a lot sakes. Let's. Yes. Watch all these ten guys up on the bench jumping on a court. I don't you know, the stuff that this look like as being joying team makes assessing join everything they're playing together inter-clan to win. I look at us so much individuals. We don't have no attitu- toughness wing having fun. You know, it's gonna be a long he's gonna be public going on in Boston, Marcus Morris. Looks like an elder statesman, bow that's my first reaction to all of this. This is a guy who's really good forty one percent from three second most efficient player on the team. So this is not a guy despite a trash talking history who's merely talking trash. This sounds like a guy who's trying to save his team because fit the atmosphere in that locker room, despite the fact their fifth in the east. He's talking about them like there the unhappiest team in the entire NBA. I mean, he is a relative old head on the squad though. Right. Like, this is one of those guys. The Beasley said that. When he got the Lakers these guys. Mckeekan Nick young. We can help you win. We just by what they were when they were young. But this dude is not young anymore. He is having a contract year that you hope for and he's looking around at this team. And he's like eight man, we should be better than they should be better than this. And I gotta look at daddy age on this. And the reason I look at him as so much what basketball fans do when they look at the Celtics. We look at them, basically, a stockpile of asset..

"No, that's not the case. They need a four minute offense. Where the case they get to lead. They can grind it out. So I don't believe Damian Williams is the answer. They're running back. If you wanna go platoon, I believe he can be a piece of that. But I do believe that this offense can improve. Because when you get the lead if you're going to be high fine. You have to be able to get first downs late in the game to build get keep that defense off the field. I think New England gave them a lesson a schooling in ball control. Because that's what teams will try to do against him as long as they have Patty Mahomes that chiefs us by being third-highest offense. I'm Bill history. Only at one drive all year long that was more than seven minutes. One touchdown drive. The patriots had one of those to start the football game. So that's the point about if you get a lead being able to grind it out. Now, they do not. Have real flexibility on offense. They're going to give tyrod killer contract extension, Damian Williams. They just gave him a an extension to games replacement for Kareem hunt. And whether we believe in Sammy Watkins, ability, stay healthy or not the contract. They signed him to I two years guaranteed. He will be your number two receiver for the canc- chiefs next year it is after the twenty nineteen season. They could move off him, but that's gonna save many real money. Because that's when Patrick Mahomes is contract is up the offense. They they're going to have to find a way with these same pieces, maybe a draft pick. Maybe if there's a wide receiver out there. They can get cheap that they think they can insert in they're not Kelvin Benjamin. But for the most part the offense going to be the same. It's the defense that's gonna go under some changes break coming up is the NFL about to make major changes following a new poll in New Orleans. That's next. "Talents. Usually wins out and teams are more than willing to give a player a second chance. But it will be very curious to see how this is handled. Because now that he's no longer on a rookie contract. Teams if there if he's going to have multiple offers there's going to be in some sense a bit of a bidding war, and I think bringing in Kareem hunt. It's one thing to publicly say we want to give him a second chance. He's a talented player, but bringing in cream hunt when you have to pay something above league minimum that is heavily incentive based because other teams are out there willing to pay a big number as well. It's going to be very interesting to see how the Kareem hunt dynamic plays out around the league, and we will be watching closely because we do know that Matt Nagy has a personal relationship with him. So bears fans it's a bit of a curve ball. That were thrown here. I not championship Sunday. Not for me. I would have faith in my organization that I can find the next Kareem hunt and not have to worry about the headache. Or you're not for me. That's that's the way. I would run my organization. He's not a player that automatically guarantees you a trip to the Super Bowl. He's not a quarterback. I move on. Sorry second. Chances are great. Just not for me. It was not with my club. Certainly you gain a second chance in life is fantastic football player. It's not like you can't do anything else with your life. You can do you can do whatever you want. It's just not for me. It's look I I always viewed it as he would be brought in by a team because he will be looked at as a market inefficiency because he would be brought in on a deal on the. But it looks like the bid for him. Someone else especially at that position. And go be a Bengal go play somewhere else. It looks like it looks like it'll be very interesting to see how it plays out. A man who got to know Kareem hunt from the Kansas City area because he covers Kansas City. Chiefs four six ten sports in KC. Josh Vermeer joins us now on ESPN one thousand Joshua were you wanted to have you on to talk mostly about chiefs and patriots. But since it seems to be some breaking news right now, just the the interest level and cream hunt around the league, I'm curious as to your thoughts about cream hunts seeing as how you had a firsthand look at him in Kansas City. Well, if we're talking of football strictly, he's a terrific addition for any locker room at any team on the field. Everything we ever heard about Kareem inside the locker room was a great TMA everything we saw him on the field. He's a great running back. And this is the NFL we're talking about. It's not exactly a battle for the moral high ground in the NFL. What have you done for me lately? What can you do for me? How much money can you bring in? Can you? Help us win Kareem hunt can help you win. Kareem hunt will bring it body because he likely will bring addicted to me ninety five percent of NFL general managers at odors. That's what they care about Indiana. Don't pretend to be you know. So against the past act of Kareem hunt. But as we saw here in Kansas City, they're willing to look the other way until it's there's a video of it the ultimate we sent him on his way it's about production and the kid he's still a kid. He certainly can produce Jonah show. We were talking about this earlier is that when we look at Phoenix Suns in sports the way, Patrick Mahomes, even though he wasn't a rookie this season. It was his first year of full playing time for the Kansas City Chiefs the moment he stepped on the field. It was clear to us that he was one of the best players in the NFL. If not the best player in the NFL being there in Kansas City watching Mahomes this season. How do you guys have you what he's done this season for the chiefs? Well, I mean, it's historic. It's the greatest season any chiefs quarterback has ever had. And it's one of the three greatest seasons inning NFL quarterback. I ever had. There's a reason why the city right now is entering the game against the New England Patriots who have been here for eight straight years. There's a reason why this city which is only known heartbreaking failure in the postseason. There's a reason why the city enters Arrowhead stadium today and got out of bed with their chest sticking out there. There's a confidence in the city that look I I haven't even I've been here. Six seven years. I've never felt it the royals went to back to back World Series. But I've never seen a player due to the city. What Patrick Mahomes has done and in talking to lifetime. They're saying it's right there with what a guy like George read competent. He would give what Patrick Mahomes has done for this city is completely change their mindset from how are we going to screw it up? What kind of unbelievable never before seen? Things are going to happen today. What was the mood in the city and of the team specifically after the loss to the patriots? They kind of went blow for blow it then. There was only one point in the game. They ended up losing the game by field goal. But it was on the road. They weren't fully healthy. What was the mood of the team after that game knowing that they may meet up have this matchup with them in the playoffs later on in the season. Yeah. It was strange. It was almost as if and look I know one would call it a moral victory. But the fans do Kansas City looked at it as validation in their belief in Patrick Mahomes. Right because at the end of last year, Alex fit that a terrific year. He was never beloved by the city. Who was respected but never beloved. This organization. This fan base county believed that Patrick Mahomes is going to be great. But it was still some uneasiness still how how short can you be? When you let a guy go that those were four thousand yards leads you to two straight division title. You let him get away with twenty three year old you're confident, but you're not sure as the season went on. Yeah. You became sure that you have that once in a generation and. I'll tell you all tell you this the thing that he has done for the city more than anything else is again a race that loser mentality. They they entered this game is the favorites that I think people around here believe they should be. That's leads me perfectly to my next question. Josh Josh from year of the six ten sports in Casey joining us here on ESPN thousand the chiefs have not been in the conference finals conference championship game since nineteen Ninety-three when Joe Montana of all people was their quarterback. So I have to imagine Josh that the feeling around the city is just a bit difference. But I have to imagine there's still a bit of nerves because it is the patriots and Tom Brady and Bill Belichick on the other side of the ball. Again, you're right. There's a there's a tinge of that. But but hosting a daily show on Monday Everett looked listen a week ago going into it apple is because this organization hadn't won a hole playoff name since Joe Montana in nineteen Ninety-three going into last week's game against Indianapolis. Where look everyone knew the chiefs were the more talented team. Maybe the colts with the sexy pit a week ago. But here in Kansas City. I don't think there was the confidence that they have today a week ago. And that sounds weird. But the stigma some called it a curse of we haven't won a game at Arrowhead into postseason at twenty five years who is going to exercise those teams once Patrick Mahomes that I know it sounds silly. But once Patrick Mahomes this team beat Indianapolis last week. We heard people crying on the post game show. There's there's, you know, of course, not shot at Twitter every what's. It was as if some actual demons were exercise and that confidence is carried into this week last week was the nerves. It's now we have the best player in the NFL. And you don't carry that to the stadium with you today. Josh when you talk to your callers during the week, what was their biggest concern with the patriots heading into this matchup, James, why Sony Michelle the dinking Donka thousand paper cuts ask because look. And this is how great Patrick Mahomes has been the season is he is covered up. What for a large majority of the season was the worst defense in the NFL that any let them to the number one seed in the AFC people here are still cognizant that this defense can't be torched has been torched by Tom Brady wants by Jared Goff by Russell Wilson by the great quarterbacks. And today you're facing a great quarterback there. Yes. Of course that could happen Brady. Could just go gradient and perfectly executed the game plan and put up forty three points. I'll put the beliefs in Kansas City is Tom can get his. But we believe somehow Patrick will get his forty four blocks away with forty three. Again, how healthy is Eric berry and how much of a difference. Can he make today? Well, I disagree on look I pick Eric berry can be a handful against the run. I think he could really help this team against the run and they are terrible against the run. He's also a coach out there. And they have a lot of young pieces in the secondary. He has gotten them lined up properly in a third of his snaps. There's you know him redirecting these young quarterbacks and safety. Now, he's only played a thirty snaps against the chargers sixty snaps against the Seahawks. And that he's not healthy by the reported. It's a bone spur that rubs against his achilles. "And it was it was amazing. What he did? So in two games against England Kareem hunt, then you know, D single offense of star at least the greatest offensive start. He he's not here as we all know, the dismissal came in at the end of November for him Damian in the other so Spencer where stepped up and he was hurt in the first game and he played so Damian Williams was actually running third team. The last game that that Kareem hunt started from cheap Williams has been terrific. And he's not the same players Kareem hunt. But the the drop off is significant and he's really taking a firm grasp of his opportunity. And I don't think that I don't think that that comes up as a position of weakness. For for the chiefs. We're Karima was really good was. Ball out of the backfield. And Damian Williams has proven to be pretty good at that as well. He's not the powerful back that the that's the Kareem hunt was tackle breaking and we saw him. Leaping over people running into people and Damien Williams is a tough runner. But I don't know if anybody was that tough still it's a, you know, it's not a it's not a big loss for the chiefs. It's something that they've been able to overcome in the last month of the season Blair much has been made about this chiefs defense or lack thereof for some reason. Maybe it's the opposition. Maybe it's the, you know, home cooking, but they play much better at home. They were tremendous last week against the run. But I do wonder how much of this..

"The table from the nationals. That was the offer. They publicize the last day of the season ten years three hundred million dollars. And I think there's some escalators in there. So pushes it a little bit north. They have already made that public. So he has that on his desk. He's looking at other opportunities to see if he can surpass that through his agent Scott Boras on Machado. We really don't know what to believe I'm not. That's not my beat. I'm not covering Manny Machado and the White Sox. But there's been reports we won't be outbid Karm has said that many times I've had people over at NBC like Chuck are fine have said the same thing socks will not be outbid. And then we have the report yesterday that there are one hundred seventy five million is their offer. So I don't know what to believe we're going to find out. And these guys finally sign I have a feeling Bryce Harper's deal. People are going to go walk. He got a ton. It's going to be far more at seventy five million. I promise you that three one two three three two three seven seven six again. Jed Hoyer at the bottom of the hour. John in new lenox your next, Johnny? Hey, how you doing buddy? What's up kid? Yeah. I was just calling in a, you know, it's just I in the world we live in America's about forgiven. Not forget, but forgive somebody most of these incidents. They're common about with the exception of Kareem hunt is Edison Russell. I mean, I got two daughters. God forbid if that was one of their husbands did it. But he didn't want the atone for his sin or repent several where you want to say. But I mean, if the repeat offenders, you know, throw the book at them throw away, the key. I just don't understand. Why people, you know, don't see the fact the man admitted to what he did was wrong. Yeah, he got caught. But you get what I'm saying. I mean, I understand you're taking the call man. Best to you and your family. Again, it's horrific and I from the day this Addison, Russell stuff broke the first blog post. I said if he has been abusing his wife hitting his wife, he should not wear the cubs uniform. I love the fact they've wrapped their arms around him and said, hey, we're going to help you go through therapy. And we're gonna sat out all these things to make you a better human being. That's noble. That's awesome. But if he was putting his wife through hell, physically, I'll help you. But I can't have you wear my uniform again, but I also see a differentiation between having someone on a daily basis being abused and Kareem hunt. Who again, I am not defending what he did. And I think he should be suspended for a lengthy amount of time from the league. But I also don't think he should be banned for life. So hopefully, I've been clear and consistent on what I'm telling you three one two three.

"Caplan, three one two three three two three seven seven six is our phone number. We'll talk to Dan Weiner who was there yesterday for the Kareem hunt exchange and Lewis is in Morton grove Lewis. Welcome to the show looking good, Louis, Jordan, and you got the team. Thanks, buddy. Kid. I wanted to have a comment on the subject of Kareem hunt. You see when it comes to professional athletes. They're fascinated interviewing the scale, and that's jail is too. And depending on your action society was scale you, and they will judge you, and they'll give you a second chance or not when it comes to that topic of what Kareem hunt action. Why society, unfortunately, this is happening live society, and this is all side of professional sports. So when it comes to people at the side, and they see a professional player going through this or that person committed that acting society is not accepting it, so because of the sensitive topic. You know, what I mean so society will ever you know, what they'll put 'em. They'll put that action in the scale of saying, well, he went beyond like if he would've got caught with intoxication with drugs or DUI, something may go. Kate society would accept reasonable. You know, it happens. We make a mistake. This. Forgive him. Give them a second chance. Let him go. Let him serve his punishment or whatever it is. But when it comes to something like that that is affecting people's lives. People looking at it and taking it personal and saying, well, no because this is this is the this is the person who people look up to. So we forgive him as far as the team the NFL team. If they signed him people are looking at it in a way that well, they're saying that it's okay as long as he service punishment that is okay. That is acceptable to commit something. Like, this until society is not accepting that so I don't see him ever playing in the NFL. Nah, maybe wrong. But what I'm saying is the NFL lug Kareem hunt because of his of his athleticism, but taxing is ruined it for society. Not be accepted. He will be playing Joe mixing on tape punch. The woman in a coffee shop and got drafted high. And now is the lead running back for the Cincinnati Bengals. I can promise you whether it's in Chicago or somewhere else. This guy's going to be playing in the National Football League. If not in twenty nineteen certainly in twenty twenty he's only twenty three years of age. So I would be shocked if nobody ever signed this guy. Now, more stuff comes out different story. All right, Dan Wieder was there yesterday. And I think we all thought Cody parkey would be the dominant story yesterday, and then Mitchell's development and Khalil max injury keeping the Pro Bowl. And then all of a sudden the Kareem hunt stuff popped up in the bears were willing to engage on that, Dan. How surprised were you? Good morning. How surprised were you that when the question was asked the answer wasn't. Hey, we're here to talk about. The two thousand eighteen bears. He's on the Commissioner's exempt list. He's a great football player. We're not discussing him. Yeah. I was a little surprised that they allowed the questions to be asked. And I, you know, credit to them for being honest with their answers and being forthright with direct questions that were asked to them. And now it's up for us to to sift through all that out with the maker of it. So was it a grass rial balloon because much like, and I did some research on this this morning months before the NFL draft a few years ago, the Cincinnati Bengals let it be known that they were evaluating Joe mixing the outrage was everywhere. Well, by the time, they in the Commissioner said the Cincinnati Bengals select from the university of Oklahoma running back, Joe mixing they'd already dealt with the outrage. And now they just moved on. No, this was not a trial balloon yesterday because I don't think that the barest anticipated. This question being asked at forum and they had to. I don't think they did. I disagree with you on that. You're right about the Bengals thing, and that's worth discussing wholeheartedly because they had a blueprint, right? And they had a roadmap with their interest in Joe mixon. They went step by step in sort of letting it be out there that they were interested in him trying to make sure that it didn't come as a surprise on draft weekend. Gauging the public reaction when Joe mixon became a bangle. They had him available for questions really early got all of that stuff out of the way early and then they moved on. And as you mentioned just a minute ago. He had close to twelve hundred yards rushing and eight touchdowns this year and is a locked in starter for the foreseeable future for the Bengals. And so people that think that Kareem hunt radio-activity is gonna last forever are naive. That's not how this league works. Whether it's right or wrong. That's a totally different discussion. But he's just not how this week works. And so to your point he will be playing somewhere. Eventually we have to figure out what the NFL discipline is going to be on this case. And then the bears have to figure out whether the risk rewards of this whole thing. Are worth them. Even having a, you know, more extended conversations about the whole topic. And to me, I just it's cringe-worthy to me to think that there's a decision to be made by how how much this guy can benefit the bears on the field, given what we've seen. I think look as a as a minority moving through this world, there's certain things that I just feel like I wouldn't want people to accept and think that is okay and can be forgiven so easily and as women who are also in that minority. I would hate for the woman I love or the women in my life that I love feel like their lives are secondary to numbers and performance on the field. So having said that Dan, do you think there's a real chance that the bears go down this path? And would you be surprised if they did they did sign cream on? Jordan. I I have no objections to what you said. I just know that in this league when a team feels like it's championship window is open and the bears. I think got a little bit closer to tasting true postseason and Super Bowl glory to see him. And so with that come temptations, and when you have a player who has the level of talent. That's Kareem hunt has an obvious fit in the system that Matt Nagy runs has to me with the head coach you can understand why the temptation is there for this organization to at least have the discussion. Now, I said in December when the whole thing happens that when you look at this thing and the bears don't have to be desperate about this. Right. They have an obvious need it running back the half the bigger out what they're going to do. They're they're gonna have to find a fit there. But they can look in free agency a little bit. They can look in the draft. And they can reevaluate this in may if they still feel like that whole on the depth chart is not sufficiently filled for them to make a run in two thousand nineteen. And so for me, that's it. Right. You just kind of have to measure the time line of this thing. These other discussions are going. We had forever, right? And and and they're very real. And they're very serious, and they're very significant. I just know that the murky world of of NFL football puts us into some some ugly territory that were forced to to live in a lot of times. And this is just one of those examples in terms of other things besides Kareem hunt yesterday. What was your number one? Takeaway was it that Cody parkey was a complete fool for going on the today show was it that they didn't say it because they can't. But they're going to absolutely one hundred percent change kickers. Oh, yeah. I mean, number one is that they made it very clear that Cody parkey will not be embarrassed uniform come week one thousand nine hundred and if you can't read between the lines and not, you know, I've got a school for the blind defend your two, I'm at one the other take away. I think would just be the positive energy that they have towards Chuck Pagano, and the feeling that he's going to be an immediate fit in sort of that high energy culture that they have working at house hall right now. And that even though there is going to be a inevitable step back for the defense as they sorta feel things out and get acquainted with their new coach, and he gets acquainted with the players all those things that they feel like they can get this thing back pointed in the forward direction pretty quickly because of who is in the way coaches and the talent that he and Harris, I mean that I think is the number one thing Matt Nagy made that clear that Chuck understands what he's walking into your eating knows that he doesn't have to be a magician. He's just gotta put a really really talented group. In addition to succeed and everything should be pretty pretty positive going forward. Dan, you mentioned that inevitable somewhat of a drop off. Not maybe a no. Notable one but just naturally with the new guy coming in. But how much of a deterrent? Could this be no matter how well Chuck Pagano? Does just the transition. It seemed like those guys would run through a wall for Vic Fangio that defense and who's a truly tight knit group, and he knew guys could shine and where the strengths were because continuity, something that was so important to them, and they talked about that as well. I mean, could this become something I don't wanna say problematic because these guys are so talented, but could this be a real issue going into next season? I wouldn't say a real issue, but we have to be very aware that, you know, you don't just hit the ground running a feeling out process that trust and familiarity and continuity, take time to build, and when you talk to defensive players, they say, it's one thing to to sort of you know, like being around your coach. And and to understand that he's got your best interest at heart. All of those things it's another thing to have full trust in game action in the call that he sends in. And that's where this group with Vic they were just in lockstep, and they were just in such sync with Dickerson and a call the guys believed that it would work. They didn't second guess it for even a microseconds. They went out and executed. They execute it. Well, and they succeeded, and so that's kind of the formula that you're trying to replicate and it just doesn't happen overnight. So people have to be ready for a small step backward. There as that relationship builds with a new coordinator and probably a whole new set of position coaches, right? Your day to day routine becomes different depending on who you're where you're working with meeting rooms on the field and position does all those things. So you just gotta be ready for that. And. And hope that the bears can, you know, overcome that with the level of talent they have obviously we've talked about four pro bowler three of those guys all pros. And and a couple of other players like roquan Smith who are clearly in the direction to join that group before long. So the talent should help you smooth over those bumps, but there are going to be bumps in terms of aggressiveness, the one knock on Vic Fangio was hey, man you too loose late in games bears. Got out scored in the fourth quarter. They didn't pressure with blitz enough. The fact I think they blitzed the least percentage of plays that they were on the field with their defense than any other team in the National Football League. Whereas I think the Cleveland Browns blitz the most and they had a good defense to with Greg Williams. Do you think privately if Matt Nagy was given the truth serum? He'd say I love Vic Fangio, I wish you still my DC. But I also love the fact we're going to be more aggressive. No, I think that's that's really getting deep into the nip pitching here. If people didn't like a defense that led the NFL and takeaways if people didn't like a defense that gave up fewer points than any other team in the NFL people didn't like a defense that had the most sacks in the NFC. Then I don't know what the standard is. Right. I I you know, we can say that dick has laws because weaknesses the results around the field this year, and they won twelve games in large part because the defense carried them to probably nine of those winds singlehandedly, you're right. If you go back, and and just check them off one by one. And so no, I don't I don't think Matt Nagy is glad that that Vic Fangio left for a different job. He's happy for Vic. He's happy. You got that opportunity. But I if he was given the chance to keep zek around. He would have one hundred percent kept them around and been very happy with where they were going for was there anything else that stuck out? To you in in these postseason comments from pace and Nagy that maybe hasn't been touched upon here. We had our five takeaways pretty much covered the main stuff that as the guy sitting in the room yesterday. Was there anything else that stood out that you know, we don't have the eyes and ears for that went on? Well, this is a small nugget, and it's probably not anywhere near the top five of newsy nuggets or or not. But Ryan pace is praise of akiem Hicks at the end of the press conference. I asked the question about Ryan knows. I can't quit the saints when they drafted him. He was obviously part of the regime that problem to Chicago. He he rewarded him with the extension..

"So that what would you say then? So if you lasting on this game. Then what would you say to either Andy Reid or Eric b enemy or or Patrick Mahomes or all three of them if they were seated before you right now to get mentally right for this one. Having known, Andy, whatever, I think you have to be yourself. But I think you also have to play the game to right way when you're at home when you're. At home, the games will different because man, you really wanna play from a head. So if actually I'm them, I'm really all gas no breaks at the beginning. It's kind of into like we haven't talked about Kareem hunt being gone and not being on the squad. I continue to roll on. But here's where the loss of Kareem hunt to really affect them. Because if the game gets out of sorts normally what you wanna do to slow it down to get your quarterback on the control is turn around and handed off. Do you feel good enough about David Williams and some of the other guys that's our wear should be ready to go. But are they good enough to carry this in the postseason? We know that we know that it can read hunt was a guy that we consider maybe an elite runabout he's not there can one of these guys played in. Elite level for two or three games to help them. Get over at key. Brooke says, no they will not. And it'll be the colts the six seed moving onto the AFC title game. All right there you have it am going to take the chiefs on the idea that Andy Reid with two weeks to get ready for this one is going to have something ready. So that they are by the five minute Mark of the first quarter that they are have a touchdown lead. But you know, Marlin MAC and T Y Hilton. It's not like those guys ain't splashy themselves in can't make a big time. Play suddenly spook the entire crowd. You know, they they make a a splashy play early. That's gonna get things sideways. Like you say, all right. The other game on Saturday here in the Los Angeles Coliseum. Now, we don't have to worry about the home crowd factor. Putting pressure on the hometown or the hometown QB because it really might be more of a home field advantage for the visiting Dallas Cowboys erica's too. I mean, I do think it's going to be about fifty fifty tourism America's team. "But I just feel like it's so shady, it's so shady how TMZ can get this whole thing. The NFL can't the chiefs can't but TMZ pays up. It's. I wanna know. Like on to keep it quiet at the beginning did Kareem hunt half to pay right? And then from there. Did you know TMZ just triple what he paid the Cleveland police? I I wanna know how deep this goes to me. It's a little fishy. Ira fishing, and Amy Trask was on with with fits of Brooks today. And I it's part of what I've been saying on this whole time is do you do you hire? But she said it's kind of hard. Dot com on the podcast, great stuff. But she she was saying to you hire TMZ. Do you hire some type of thing like that? In have resources to go and pay for those. Videos for your investigations, I but see that's the thing is man you want to know. So many things because look you're investigating. You're you're paying up, and I feel like TMZ would end up, you know, almost like extortion. Yes. Yeah. Eight they know exactly how much the NFL's worth information is a commodity for any in especially valuable information. And at the end of the day, what the NFL needs to know is what really happened. And however, look the NFL their financial resources pretty limitless. There is some limit. But to obtain a copy of a video, look, I think they can probably find, you know, between the owners, and whoever the hell is going to be in charge of of facilitating that I think that they can come up with a number of the the bottom line is they need to know what happened in the fact that there was a video of this incident and never mind. How dumb Kareem hunt was for doing something like that knowing that it was all being recorded. But that aside knowing that there is a video available since February and Kareem hunt. Hunt felt empowered enough embolden enough to light his team. He had to have known that. They were having a hard time getting the video or didn't have access to it. I mean, they didn't see the video because if you see the video, you know, right away away like kicked out. I wonder as guard went down a little bit each week. Yeah. Good. Yeah. I'm good. Hanging over his head. Could you imagine knowing that your career your NFL career is just hanging in the balance and the day that the other shoe drops, you're toast? And I mean, it's bad enough that this happened know in any way, shape or form the fact that it happened just a couple of days after Ruben foster that to me is kind of fishy to now all the sudden and we're getting near playoff time in the chiefs are potentially in a position to win the Super Bowl. There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes man, this thing just stinks all high. Hell no, it just sucks, and, you know, starting with the domestic violence to the cover up to the, you know, the distribution of the video to the new police cars at the Cleveland police officers are driving and all that stuff. It's it's it's all shady shady. So following an internal review. It was determined that in February a member of the Cleveland division of police provided a report you'll appreciate you trying to do some serious here. You don't mind felt house? Doing it for felony baby. All right now. So I'll start over following an internal review is determined that in February a member of the Cleveland police provided a copy of that police report, including the assault incident at the nine which was the hotel to the National Football League. And of course, they didn't go through the official publics public records request process. Now, if you go through that process, officially then it's known that the NFL is petitioning to get that information. Because I I gotta think look the police reports one thing like if you know, there's video of it. I don't need the police report. And that's the other thing that just begs the question. Okay. There's this video like, yeah. The charges were dropped. Why why were the charges dropped? They don't do anything for misdemeanor. It wasn't. It was not a felon. It was not charges a felony. You should have been. No, okay. Yeah. No. I mean any of that stuff? Should right? No doubt. Whether or not whatever it should be a felony. But it was filed under as a misdemeanor, which they don't do stuff you're going, wait what? Yeah. That's just shadiest number one. The fact that I don't care how hard he kicked. Her didn't kick her. You know what I mean? Like that was a felony the moment that right? She's dazed. She's she's laying on the ground days has has just gotten to the point where she sitting up. She's not even standing it. And he tried to kick her in the face. I mean, whether you connected or not I mean, thank God. He didn't he barely grazed or but not the point. You know, in the fact that she was on the ground is because you knock that dude indoor. And I know that I, you know, I don't know that he did that on purpose. But I guarantee you he didn't care if she got knocked down. Clearly, he was intent on doing her harm, hence the shove and then later kicking her. So let me ask you this this Kareem hunt play in the NFL again. Yes. Yeah. I think so too. I think he's young enough. Yeah. That's why Ray rice didn't play again because he was done. He was already at the end of his career. Well, yeah. And hit what he did on video, right? I feel like a complete ass for even having compare that. You're right though. It's true world. We all we all think the same. But it wasn't as bad. It wasn't even though it is it wasn't what the wasn't as graphic as the one punch layout. Right. And even if you go on the Joe mixing stuff, right? And the other part of it too. Is that was his significant other now again, there's no excuse for this but Kareem hunt, and this gal they weren't like romantically involved. Okay there. There was a disagreement. You know, apparently tossed around my point is the Ray rice stuff. It's almost even more shocking because this is supposed to be somebody that you love and care about still married, right? That's what I'm saying. You're in a partnership to protect the whereas opposed to somebody just being a complete stranger that you had a disagreement with what you can. I think I think there's got to be a lot of answers. A lot of questions answered by Kareem hunt and not verbally by actions right in how. Have you address certain things? How have you gone about counseling? How you know if he's out all next year, then good for him. Yeah. Because then it maybe his message is being passed. You know, you know from from team to team. I just see. He's too young and talented and we've discussed talent over all this crap. Sure. I think it's going to end up being that he's gonna play and the other part of it too is I thought that the Lisa Saulters sit down that was way too soon for me. It was like it was just so, but it's so soon it's so perfect for Lisa Saulters to get it all, of course. But even though they made they went out of their way to say, you heard her in the interview say you requested this interview. So that was Kareem hunt reaching out to them saying how I wanna get a message out. And I felt like it was total damage control one. Oh one. He's just trying to me. Then who was it? Right. Yeah. That's see. That's the thing. Like, no. It's not you. It was you you can say that was out of character for me. That's not a representation of who. I am. But no, my man, there's a connect there because that was you, and that's why you're not employed by the Kansas City Chiefs anymore, and that but see that's the one thing that I feel very comfortable saying that is you that is your character. Under percent, you do that. That's your character. That is that is a part of it from the beginning. You have that in you there? Literally do not have that in me. I know that you're right me. Neither thankfully, but you're right. There's only there's there's the kind of people that will in the kind of people that won't. And so to say that that's not you now my man that is you and I just felt like right now. This was the time for Kareem hunt. Make your statement. Hey, the chiefs were right to do what they did. I was in the wrong. Okay. Cool like and then say, hey, I'm gonna make this right? I know it's going to take a long time. But I will make this right? I'm going to make some changes. If that's what we heard from Kareem hunt. And then we didn't hear from again for six months. I'm cool like, and then don't tell me show me show me the changes that you've made. Hey, I went to counseling I'm volunteering at a shelter. Whatever it is I'm a battered women's shelter. Whatever it is to show us. You understand the severity of it. And it's not all poor me. I lost my job in the NFL. It's poor victim of my heinous assault. And the fact that I don't have a job in the NFL is the right thing because I was way out of line. I felt like he was trying to do some like PR. Reparation campaign, and I just felt like it was so ill time. And when she asked him directly about what happened. He just basically iterative that he didn't matter. What happened? And it's like, no, dude. It absolutely matters. What happened? That's why we're all year right now. Ready for our society right now, they don't even six five. Oh, let's talk about Steph night. Not women beaters fellas. All right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like that that right there alone. I it just says we're uncomfortable talking about it. But it needs to be talked about an address. Yeah. And to me the moment, you ignore it. There's so many things that you know, how can how can the NFL do better and get the message across in. And and try to help out. Why think it it obviously starts younger? And if I'm NFL, I'm

Did Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy deserve to get fired?

"Is not to say that Mike McCarthy didn't deserve to be a head. Coach is not to say that he did a terrible job because he did it. He's proven to be a good coach. And it may very well be that he deserves to be someplace else. I'm certainly not gonna sit up here and say that Mike McCarthy doesn't deserve to be a head coach in the league as long as Jason Garrett, and Marvin Lewis is still head coaches in the league, I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna do that. Especially Marvin Lewis. These Jason gave wanna play off game is more than I can say for Marvin Lewis hasn't wanna play off game sixteen years, Mike McCarthy's a Super Bowl champion. I think that ultimately the indictment against Mike McCarthy is very very simple, ladies and gentlemen. When you are coaching. Arguably the greatest talent we have ever seen at the quarterback position in NFL history. You gotta have more than one Super Bowl championship in more than one Super Bowl appearance to show for it. You have to have that Mike because he didn't have that. You can't have Arron Rogers questioning the play calling. You can't have him chagrined over the personnel. That surrounding him ask why that's the biggest defense that I have for Mike McCarthy. He he isn't the only one that needs to needed to go. I think I don't have any problem with Mark Murphy, the presidency yo for the Green Bay Packers going. I mean, you don't wanna had Ted Thompson up in there as a GM before you put. We assign them to consultants position. Brian Khuda Kint good a cancer. We don't know what he's capable of. He clearly wants to move into different direction and have his own guy. That's fair enough. But under Mike are under under a Murphy, you had a regime that did not respect ariza's enough. Didn't show him the courtesy and respect you deserve. You got rid of the quarterbacks. Coach alexan- pelt. You didn't even consult with Andrew with Rogers. How do you have a quarterback coach and not consult with Amer Rogers before letting him go? How do you do that? How do you do that? I remember one time I was told Aaron Rodgers walked into their office. They told him to get the hell out shut up. You play. We run organization. That's how this works really, really. I want to walk around here and act like you know, what Aaron Rodgers listen. He's not having a greatest year. Yeah. Absolutely. Right. He's not in that. Absolutely. Right. Eras is not having the greatest year. Nobody's gonna make that defense. He's not gonna make that defensible himself. He ain't blind. He could see understands, but we're talking about eras who will who will saunter who will cruise into the hall of fame first ballot without question. And gentlemen, Aaron Rodgers has twenty one touchdowns and just one interception on this season. And that's a down year for him. That's how lethal he is. That's how great he is. We are talking about a man with a career ninety eight and fifty five and one record. We are talking about a man, then it's completed sixty four point eight percent of his passes. First career. We are talking about a man that has done this at the frozen tundra lamb Lambeau Field for his career, and he is still passing over forty two thousand yards. We are talking about a man that's exceeded. What some would label top-five quarterback in NFL history who's passed over seventy thousand yards and Brett farve. And nobody would tell you that bradfo was better than that Rogers. That's how great Aaron Rodgers is. That's how great Aaron Rogers has been. And so guess what? If he's not feeling a coach, if he's not happy, or whatever the case may be you better pay attention.
