How Does Sugar Affect Your Skin?
"Today's episode is all about the way that sugar affects. She skidded yea. May I just Do you scoffed a big travel before the nice kind of gin and tonic on the go so we are so mingun. We we practice what we pray is like when we did the episode on alcohol and widely before we pissed. I we pitched put logic tone it down a well essentially we will researching something else weren't we and we came across the fact that apparently sugar is just really bad voice skin and I wasn't necessarily aware how how it would affect you. I thought it would be one of those things where it's like. It's not good fiercer. It's just inflammation Blah. Blah Blah Blah is such is so much more than that so complicated as an yeah than what you decide later. I'm not sad you explain later yeah so it's basically a process called. Glock Asian which we have briefly touched upon him in a previous this episode but we figured that we could do a full APP kind of based around that I think is quite interesting. This CPR interest in yeah definitely so we're going to run through the effects of a high sugar diet on skin what Greg Haitian isn't Halloween takes how should not change just a chemical might befall cells cells and then waste fight it so. Would you like to start aims. Gonave looks quietly into having high sugar diet. Yes so I'm just GONNA look in general roll out. How your skin reactive you do have a high sugar diet so the swan excess sugar in your bloodstream what you just said it causes glaciation and like we just mentioned y'all. You're going to go into this a little bit more later in a nutshell this is basically a natural chemical reaction which happens when the sugar levels in your bloodstream spike beyond were aw insulin can handle yeah if you are diabetic. You'll probably know Alaba this anyway or if you know somebody who's diabetic you understand what like spikes spikes insulin levels and that kind of thing means but essentially body can handle a certain amount It's a very individual thing but there's a lot of people who are diabetic after look the glycemic index of food or drink ozone and figure out whether it's going to balance them out or whether it's going to be too much for them or whether they need it's bring them back up so as a safe or a healthy blood sugar level and like we said. I'm going to speaking about that a little bit later by just thought my aunt that people might already understand John. Without mains. Yes so I'll let you go into cash. I've a few notes on a poor. Yeah we rock paper scissors all night long for the traces precision explaining it to me yes so essentially glaciation is when you say this an excessive sugar in your blood screen blitzkrieg. God help screen and you bloodstream it causes a process called which is a chemical reaction within our bodies. He's that happens when we spike are interesting can handle and essentially just creates a situation in yourselves whereby the sugar touches to the collagen Jim Protein and then it stops it from forming a strong structure so it makes you am super wrinkly basically just means means that you you collagen cells gone before us in family would and can every up we talk about how important college and it is important to keep it healthy and yeah and and something that you can do obviously take collagen supplements. We looked into that didn't win and we were like said in the last APP baffled pleasantly surprised yeah that it did actually work like said before. We've we look at loads of papers and stuff you picking off your godly twenty five pound. A nail picks up in the morning. Oh God of warnaco longest. She's right now picking off a jails and struck me to the joke on the floor screw anyway yes so the Asian takes it starts to show kind of at the age of thirty to thirty five issued a high sugar diet and essentially wants your cells under the process of Glide Keisha and there's a new I use substances created and thus of disrupts the mall so is actually something is called an age which is quite appropriate because it makes you skin look aged am boy. It's they advance graduation end products and it's just really destructive site just breaks down the last in degrades Collagen. an like we said that is walks. What's key to making sure the ISKIN supply and fences loads of things we can do to protect those proteins and having a high sugar diet is just really bad for your Well well really bad. Few Salvos obviously is not good for you and it's worth me saying now as well that when we're talking about sugary diet we're not talking about naked a bag of haribo unlock. Vena home a coke install yeah because they are sugary. Obviously they do need to avoid them book. If you have a really high diet in fruit and vegetables and obviously quite love Veg- is quite Karbi fruits quite Karbi that breaks down into sugar if they're quite sugary anyway that she natural sugars so if you sat listening thinking. Oh yes fine because I live a refined sugar free diet and that's still not really gonna do everything because chances are you probably just making up three refined sugar uh-huh by adding more fruit sugar on naturally occurring sugars and that's still a problem am now in terms of what occasion looks like you know when you see and I'm going to say an old an age on it but when you see wrinkles they all just kind of lines in one direction so they're like the not horizontal her is on the not vertical ever like dry sand in the desert yeah it it basically looks at cross hatched wrinkles said the skin isn't sagging being and it's not wrinkly. It's kind of both so it just looks like I don't know I'm looking at my knuckles right now and you see how because he's obviously they move in all different ways. You've a lot of lines running across your calls. looks like over your whole body so it's not just your face aces like your arms especially chest and like a for a woman steria and it happens quite a lot hands well especially when you have a loved. Sun Damage because that we set some damage and the free radicals caused by UV Navy be race breaks down Collagen cells as well so over time and this is why it kind of starts peak about thirty the if you'll start to notice it because it's not just the guy -cation so it'd be guy -cational sun damage it'll just be general aging anyway lack of the right vitamins any skin skin or lack of your body produce in highly acid and that kind of thing but have looked into a little bit about how you can fight guy -cation. If you would like me to go into that Kgo am so we are going to talk about expoliation in a couple of episodes time boats Ph as something I wanna go into took a poly hydroxy acid and is really gentle exfoliating or cycles of a B H h alpha or B. Two hydroxy acids. This all sounds very confusing but trust me. I WANNA try and make it simple is really good at helping fight any of the signs of aging through Keisha and but in terms of Dui -cation what you can do is you can live a low glycemic index indexed diet so you want to be in slow releasing carbohydrates like Brown bread able white bread. No sometimes we put up with care about the calories but there's just a lot more sugar in white bread than there is Brownback bread so it will stop inching levels from spike in and then go over the threshold for what your body can actually handle because that's that was soon as you go over. Dot Thousand Locations starts to happen and so there's another thing that you can take. It's called con seen if you go to the gym cry allow you take supplements for the GM a lot of people or bodybuilders or people trying to build Moso will take Elkana scene and that AH really useful for repair muscle so he's on a very cellular level e Cantate Casino L. Cost Nine. Don't I did look into the differences between the an AH couldn't find anything that really made sense to me to relate on here book of essays during the similar thing so it's helping to repair anything if you start taking cau- aw colonising then you might notice a difference in your skin but like said this takes a long time to happen so if you want into go if you're into supplements and I would suggest carnoustie because it's could risk in any way and then I read that if you take vitamins B one B six. They're really good for as as well so essentially they all worked together to get in there and breakdown that protein so you know I was talking about their advance Caucasian and yet products dot is a protein eighteen breaks the Collagen and lasted. If you'd have these vitamins might coniston and things like that it will it will go in and it will try and kill the age so a- as soon as you start to kill that then you lesson you Collagen bill back up again and beal healthy and super quickly be one vitamin B. One is phoned in chickpeas summon potatoes which is great for me because I do level of. Am A CHICKPEA and summon Corey be six is found in polk sunflower seeds and wheat germ so no could have fun of pork are usually all. Could you make a sexually free poll. I mean to make his own sexual. Weird is a nice word that you don't you don't want pork. I'm sure you're going to gross tomorrow autozone. NFL So little store here Charlie doesn't e- Any me she panics harian aside chicken anya yeah so you still eat chicken. Can you still want yeah so she's been given up. She's giving up pork for like as long as deep without Habana. Yes so Alex's parents donahue. Don't who if ever you go round she'll make some knows yeah well. It's the it's the fact that I'll around to Alex's house in his mom is like pro- Wpro like she even has airbnb is like she runs Rhone Airbnb so much of a fantastic Hoshi as so now she knows that basically basically I just eat fish and chicken. She will make a fish dish a chicken dish and often then she'll make something different like beef or pork or Lama weather weather for everybody else so I used to love a hog roast and there's a whole grossed thing happen tomorrow and you're going to go no but the problem is I know the Alex's mom wouldn't be asked if a bit of the pork because they were my favorite however number one soon as see the pig on a stick. I'm probably going to be like a company that and number two. She always makes an effort to to not give me pork. If I went in eight she'd be like she could eat quite easily be like I didn't need to use the effort because if you can eat now than you

"Bob Alao ride. We're back. Smarttalk episode two six oh, we're past the big two five. Yeah. We had our retrospect, our frontal prefrontal cortex is finally developed a little thing. Twenty five years old is, when you're prefrontal cortex finishes developing. So I have no chance of further development. No. No. Well, yeah. And that part of your brain, what about growth, can I grow your to itary? No, you're done really. Yeah. You're prefrontal cortex is what's your what you, it's your decision making part of the brain. Oh, oh, I'm definitive in decision making. But my, my mom keeps telling me, I'll grow well, maybe someday, thank you. So we have a snarf talk. I do you know what it is? I know I don't know what the first is. It's light out. Oh, yes, it light outside for the first time. I don't know. I feel that's it's technically the second time that we've recorded in daylight Karbi. Did it one time? We did at one time on a Saturday. Oh, I don't remember that remember you had to, like we came in. I don't know what time it was. We came in at, like noon, or like no like two or something and we recorded and you had to go to something, remember what you were going to. But I know we recorded here, Saturday while in any case, why Mr. Snyder we recording so early. Well, well, it's not early. By the way, there's like one shredder. Right. It's not that, but the sun is going down and basically down can barely see it. But there is light left. We are recording early because we have an old man here. Yeah. It's eight twelve. Start at eight thirty every other time. Let's well, we don't really start till nine usually. Yeah. Just like we got here seven thirty but and we like recording in the night. I'm a night person Jerry, the prowler. And lives in the night. Yes. I lived for the that means we have the triumphant second guest appearance of the dude in studio. He's back. He's trying to catch up to Nate in bars guest appearances. Sorry. Then a little preoccupied baseball and the wife going to school baseball, believe me and softball. Yeah. So I'm got some more free time seeing how there's six inches of rain on the ground because we live in a swamp. It's Louisiana and thinking plant rice next week. If it keeps raining, you might actually ever thought about that. No flooding field and I don't need the flood them if. Right. He don't need to flood of. Now, if you had some good riverbottom ground, there, such a thing as good forever about them. You're like this. No, no, not at all. We got a jam packed exciting episode. It is jammed pair of dude being here still thank you for joining us. Again. Thank you for having me, guys. I've been looking forward and trying to get back here for about three months now it's been. Season. One. Was that season one? I think it yeah, he was the fourth episode. So that was the end of the season one and that was not in this year the start of season. Two was episode five. It was in two thousand eighteen your first appearance of two thousand nineteen. Congratulations. Thank you for coming. I I feel feel so honored. honored. Thank you. All right. What are we starting out with now? The news. Yes. All right. You got some news for me journal, let me let me look it up. I actually don't think I do really, I don't think I've researched enough while I will. I will start out. We got some new trailers going on. Yes. Which ones? The first one I saw was a new trailer for bat girl that woman that woman that woman, it's called bad woman. Trailers fan. Yeah. Horrible batman. Well, it's bad girl. And no, it's not difference. Well, in any case, we got a bad woman, because they would never make show called bat girl, right? Oh, no. You can't ever say, even though they got supergirl. That's true. It's not superwoman. No wonder woman. So have you seen the trailer? Yes, I have seen the trailer thoughts. Where do I start major probably you will line? I see what you're doing here. You're setting me up. No talk about talk about this so that you say, sexist years sixes, it's not so much that sexist. There's one point in there in the trailer, if you haven't seen it logic because for she goes, I'm not gonna go. I'm not going to. A man get away with credit, that woman did the job or let me look up literally stealing Batman cigs, act, always, and Quinton, suit and car identity. I'm not about I'm not about to let a man take credit for a woman's work. Yeah. She said after she broke into batmans cave into his suit, his equipment, his car's his so during you onto who bet woman is for people who don't know. I mean I don't really I don't really think it's necessary at this point, just because I'm so aggravated with what the trailer is so like Christmas saying, and some text messages, we had earlier, it's, it's literally just pandering. It's pandering to the like the way society is right now at the moment of backup music as I'm a woman it's, it's just overboard on, she's a woman. She's a lesbian all of those things are fine. That is absolutely fine. It just that in this one trailer, they've crammed, maybe the show isn't like this, but in the trailer, they've crammed so much stuff saying about how she's going to be better at this. Like she's a woman, she also guy says the bat the bat suits little perfection. I can't change it. And she says it will be when it. Fits a woman. Yeah. I mean. Log, so hokey all of this is fine like it is fine to have a woman Centric show. Like I think it will do really well, but like you said in multiple episodes about stories that involve women if the if the writing is good. The story is good. Then you don't even need doesn't even need to be said that it is all women, or, or that a woman is the hero here, like it doesn't need to be said, because the story itself is good enough to support all of that, which in your going to enjoy it, the comic is good. I mean, I'm back on the two thousand six when it came out, it was pretty revolutionary. I mean it's a lesbian, she's. Yeah. Is that the comic to yes, from two thousand six? Yeah. She is. Bruce, Wayne's first cousin. Okay. I don't know anything about the character. Oh, I know that there wasn't just beedon writing that for a while. Supposed to be no one. Writing a movie. Yeah. That's right. That'll be may be still is. But I think it gets scrapped. Yeah. I mean, the CW Canada's whatever they want, right? Greg, Greg Berlanti. Does whatever why are they doing St. w shows now and just not doing onto? I don't understand. That's a good question. I don't know their rights. This was Warner Brothers hates their fans. I mean that's on there. This has been in this has been in production for a really long time. They'll so I think character appeared in one of the other shows, it was the spin off of the aero flash, crazy world or something else world's else worlds. And they did a aero flash crossover called else worlds. In it, aren't they doing birds of prey to? That is being developed as a movie in the fall movie. That's right. I know we've talked about it before, but I couldn't remember, if it was a movie or a TV show because isn't Margot Robbie? And yes, she is your anyway. I mean, I'm all on board. I think it's a cool like outfit and the production looks direction. Quality looks good. It looks super hokey the, the dialogue was cheesy, and like some of those shots were really cheesy. And she looks joyless. Oh, absolutely one hundred percent. Yeah. She's like a miserable human being apparently and I don't know again maybe point of her being there. She kicked out of the military for being a lesbian. She can't be who she wants to be right. So I she takes on the persona bet woman, and maybe the show won't be bad. I'm gonna out probably check out quite a few episodes of it just to give it a chance. But if even if the first episode is so like forward on the lesbian. I'm I'm a strong woman and lesbian and nobody gets me. And I'm going to be better than everyone else because of this. Like if that's if that's all this is going to be about give me a break. I mean because comic books have been doing this with women for such a long time. Not not putting the, the woman, Specht forward, just like writing good characters and making them the star of the show. They've been doing it for such a long time. I don't understand. Why TV is taking so long to do it, and why they tried to change it to be like a pandering show like like you were saying, make some of those lines and I could totally be just the trailer because, like, hey, we want to go out and grab the attention of this audience. And that in that's totally reasonable. So that's why I'll give it a shot. I think it's cool to do like there isn't a lot of representation for gay characters so that's awesome. And I don't think that was like, in your face or anything like that. It was more just the background music of. I'm a woman and then those two lines that she said about. That suit and all the bad suit, I was pretty healthy. So I mean it could be cool. But I just wish they would I hope maybe they will make the show have it be what it is. And don't have to throw that store space because that is what's in powering. Yeah. To see female to see gay character. That, that doesn't the isn't the only thing that defines them it just happens to be something that they are. That's the word that the way they are. And don't make it all about that being what defines them, although we don't probably have the best perspective to become enting on it. I don't know. I'm none of those things. But I don't know. We'll see. It doesn't necessarily just because we don't have the best perspective on to talk about that doesn't mean that we can't talk about, like how in your face it is in the trailer. You know what I mean like the trailer is very forward on that stuff. And I think anybody would see that from watching. I mean if you've read, I've read the comments on the those trailer the that trailer and it's one hundred percent that. How negative let's talk more about how she's a woman, let's talk more about how you don't she's mad. Let's she doesn't. The big party is like I understand the comic book is that way. But in a TV show, it's really hard to watch somebody, that's just miserable and doesn't like it's kind of that way, you know, to the comic, the captain marvel comic, the popular one two thousand twelve on. Well, he he certainly did last year when the when Houston was up three games to two in game six was in Houston. Now, they did they didn't have Chris Paul, but they didn't have hard. Neither who hardly scored at all. And was basically a no show. Yeah. But they put up twenty three shots three point. That's none of them went in. So that's okay. But what's happening could see good, Stefan? Feddie this thing. Snow? He's also not dare intew in in the last two games. No, you're you're absolutely correct about that. Anyway, it was nice yesterday at the games. I could game from fan was when Lennox Kevin Durant was thank to shoot free throws or something beaming, New York, next New York next. I remember that you heard about that. Well, I mean what I think about is. Kevin Durant losing and then coming to New York City to turn things around and eventually more sooner than later start winning. That's what how I look at. Kevin Durant who has been the scoring for the mouthpiece and shimmy is because the mouthpiece and Thomson with his feet. "Sports, Oklahoma's home workouts, and we are starting to see more and more manufacturers like well, like Glock, and many others may carbine rifles. They the same caliber as a handgun. So David the marine base. My dad and grandfather used to have a little game to determine which one was more cheap. And my dad liked having a handgun and a rifle that shot the same caliber not for convenience. But because he was cheap cheap works. Yeah. Active the concept of a rifle chambered for the pan gun round is an old idea. Boys. You could even argue goes back to the days of the Flint lock in the and whatnot because as a forty five caliber ball. Yeah. But in more modern times, like the, you know, the old west, you know, their rifles often chambered for the same round is their their handgun not because they're cheap up because it was convenient. Doc, two different calibers for two different guns. You know, you have one boxer shelter. Come that. You have. Well, that was very convenient. Well, and if you're a hand loader, it it actually comes in handy to you don't have to load for a different caliber for a different gun. Right. And it just makes it easier. All the way around. And like an old concept that is kind of found renewed interest, you know, right now because the three fifty seven forty four how they've had racks is made for those for quite a while. But recently what is starting to. That'd be a boom almost no pun there. But you know, the pistol caliber carb as a semi automatic copies mostly nine millimeter. Not only did the same round working either gone to say magazine will fit either gun and that really convenient. Yes. My dad did not see that day passed away before that kind of innovation came along. But if you have a look at our video, we try out some pistol caliber carbines and demonstrate just how handy it is to have one what we had two of the three most popular ones. We have the Celtics accept rifle two thousand it actually folds in half which would Holden half. Yes. It does. And it's really cool the other that we had was the fairly new Ruger IPC with dancer pistol caliber carby, and that doesn't fall. But it takes apart into two pieces. So it's very easy to to store into carry the one advantage with the carving is it's easier to shoot well accurately, and we kind of tested that out in the video like how how long did it take the hit at twenty five plate with a handgun versus how long does it. Take to hit it with the Karbi. Have a look at the videos at KT. No. But it's still you don't feel like you're depriving yourself. If you do it that way, I think you're getting three times as much of the good stuff and only one one serving in the best. I love it. What's your stance on beans? I like beans. I like a lot of different types of beans. What's the best one? Because sometimes they have like a choice. Of black beans or refried beans, I'm guessing with fried in the name, but refried beans or not as bad as you think really stats on refried beans are typically really not bad that the problem with them just usually the amount. So they're all good for you. I think black beans in general, maybe a safer bet because it's very hard to get a Mexican restaurant to commit to giving you refried beans without that pile of cheese on the very hesitant. That's true. But if you can control it at home refried beans are actually not so Bank refried beans need like a PR makeover, they need to get fried out of their name. Yes, that's truly re fried twice ride twice fried. What could call him smashed beans or you go they sound. So like, let's call elephant. Let's definitely makes smash beans from now on. Okay. And maybe the original MAC and cheese is out pine like Italian food redesigned by the Swiss for hungry herders with a lot of cream and Greer that seems a little more convincing. Of course. It's not totally one hundred percent settled historians. Let us know if you come up with anything new in any case by the late seventeen hundreds cremate cheesy, MAC and cheese style casserole was popular in both England and France, that's where one of our founding fathers encountered it so Thomas Jefferson is credited with bringing MAC and cheese into the United States. And apparently he brought it back from France. Yes, you ever gets a little bit credit, but that's really not true. If you look at manuscript cookbooks in the United States, even before Jefferson's time, people were serving something that was similar to macaroni and cheese in their house. Holds they often called it macaroni pudding. But what you find in that time period is a lot of wealthier Americans. Go visit Europe get exposed the dish in fall in love with and bring it back. Thomas. Jefferson was just one of these wealthy Americans who fell under the MAC and cheese spell. He was introduced to it while he was living in Paris. Ace, you know more often these days I, when I get into a car, a test car, I go into, you know, however many thousands of seven and you have to find yeah, to to, to get to the tone controls gimme your three bars, three bars, and I and I rolled base down. You go into the negatives lately. I've been like this nine eleven. I rolled base down a little bit. I leave everything else on flat. I typically do like base if we're talking like plus minus five, right for the three bars, you know, basement treble I'll typically go base like zero or maybe minus one mid at minute. "Right exactly but what i'll say is once i gave up those delicious sugary karbi treats those fit in my favorite things that were new things that replaced my favorite thing so now like if i dodge it's like oh get a hundred percent dark chocolate bar and never my life that i think i would get excited about a dark chocolate even like a handful of blueberries never thought i would get excited about a handful of blueberries but now man like i it is it is my that is my new favorite so i mean just to your point of yes your whole your whole tastes change your cravings change you just kinda gotta get through that that month or two month period of of getting all that crap out of your body for the first two months man i was mad like i was really angry that i had to say no to to bread i say no to ice cream and then a couple of eight yeah absolutely absolutely yeah and you could be walking around pissed off like why can't i spend my money on all these things that other like i'm a minimalist now and i'm angry because i can't now you probably don't think about it right like maybe i'm different than other people in this regard but i'm not a big fan of a lot of people are like we'll have a cheap day like eat really well we can then have your cheat day like that just would not work for me because if you told me i could eat in and out burger one day a week i would spend the other six days just thinking about you know and then that one day would turn into two days and then and then i just be eating it all the time like i need to like divorce myself from that food until i don't crave it anymore and then you're no longer imprisoned by said i'm free from it because i'm going i'm going to see elton john this weekend he's playing in las vegas mariah going with our friends and they were over a couple of nights ago and they're talking about all this mazing desserts in all this food that they get when they're in vegas and every time they would say something they would be like oh yeah but ryan you probably can't eat that mariah.
"karbi" Discussed on First Take
"Oh out of what carrie no he told dan gilbert keith karbi but think about the tenor of his argument it wasn't keep kyri i love this guy we can't lose them he's too valuable it'll be difficult for us to win without light kyri wanted it was man he under contract for the next two years where the hell he's supposed to go he could complain they want to keep him right here there's a difference says the difference that's the that's what you're focusing on what i'm telling you i'm focusing on which is the story to me is people don't like you don't even blink anymore when lebron just dig what he did we haven't blinked here was career at hold on hold on every game he steps out on the floor he is breaking his own longevity record in terms of level attained and maine and sustained at his age with those miles on his legs it's look if tom brady doesn't fall off the cliff this year right i'll be more impressed than anyone because i don't just assume you can go on forever and every time he goes out and does something he'll be rebranding his record we'll be amazing the fact that you ought to write of course he's good we don't even need to glance gloss over that because everyone knows that that's what i'm saying hit the brakes everyone and notice that this guy is setting and resetting his own record every night forty minutes erskine the playoffs when it's the most man could average thirty fifteen fifteen and you're absolutely right we'd sit there and look lebron james and we're not surprised all i'm trying to say is that's the same thing we've been saying he obviously wants us to say that he deserves a saying that but in the end you can't win by yourself he knew that and he should have been more protective of his help that way we went.
