Very nice. I mean he's on grace and Franky isn't he sure and house, a car and Louis hammer and scrotal recall at the end of the first week, there was twenty four villages. But agree with half of what you said. She does think we are. I don't think she is stupid. I think she's extremely smart. But almost too smart for her own good. And by the way, I don't mean smart as a positive thing here. I think that her intelligence actually gets in the way for having some commonsense sometimes, and she is she puts herself here while she sees the rest of us down here. "Because we have we have many miles to travel with that. But that was but regardless Kansas has the win over offered and they won they wanna handily and then New Mexico team. But if Kansas is going to hit its full potential, and even if they don't get to Susa back and Doak it's back in the lineup. And you just get more out of this team outside of Dietrich Lawson didn't yet it's going to be scary. Good. And I think I think the best team in America. Which is what I thought it would be in the preseason. Like Dietrich has been quality in most of the games. They played an even in some of the games where he's had. Good stat line. And it hasn't even been at the level that he wants to be at he's been everything because Gerald Vic who was hot in as responsible as as Dietrich on three or four game stretch. Will he he like missed? He was like to a practice or late to show up to a game last week. So he didn't even start and then minutes restricted again over the weekend. Kansas still been able to win Quinton Grimes an on the train yet. And Devon Dawson is a little bit up and down and Charlie Moore's been good. But you know, what not nearly as good as maybe people were thinking that he would be so with Kansas. I'm impressed that it still eight no with tough schedule. Now is to sit a week, I presume the kids at finals this week. And then they get Villanova at home on Saturday six days from when we're quitting this podcast. I think that'll be an interesting one to watch. But overall, you see how the jayhawks have been able to win in spite of just not they just haven't been what we thought they'd be at. So it's a bit scary. If they do wind up getting it all to cliquier, if they're just getting all most of the rust and the out of the way now like Dietrich, I. I don't think has played well consistently. And yet he's still average in nineteen point one points. Ten point six rebounds, two point nine assists per game in thirty two point five minutes per game for whatever it's worth the Qin player. The ratings have him in second right now. Ethan hap, it was kansin who's leading his team in points rebounds. Insist is number one and number two. So when he really starts playing well consistently watch out because even and this is what makes a special college basketball player, even when he doesn't play. Well, you look up and he's got like, you know, seventeen points, twelve rebounds. When he does play. Well, it's like twenty five points, fifteen rebounds. But even when he's not playing well that box gets filled up one way or another. He is he is volume player. And this goes back to when he was at Memphis. He he's not exceedingly efficient, and I actually think and we'll get we'll get into this like after the season just. A quick note on this. I actually think that it will cost him in terms of where he lands in the NBA where it gets pick. If you pick because he gets numbers good player, but he's not officiant. And I think more and more front offices care about that kind of stuff, and he just needs more touches than the than the average big man, and he's able to clean up around the tin. But he he's a very good college player. But I think in the eyes of MBA sketch right now he is just not where people should be given his size and his skill set. But what Kansas need needed out of him? They've gotten to this point. And yes, jayhawks, they will be number one their number one with you. And they should be number one in all the polls when we hit on Monday morning as far as Deedrick in the NBA if he's going to have a job in that league. It's going to be as a stretch for. And he's shooting fifteen point four percent from three point range like you. You were hoping that. He would he would be able to to show consistently that he can make that shot. Because that's what it's going to take for him to be picked into the league and hold a job in that league. And obviously Kansas doesn't use him out there too much..

"And Gary's is the start of that. It could be could be a thousand democratic office holders got wiped out in the midterm elections of two thousand ten under the second term of Obama's presidency. I think something like twenty six states were under the control of the Republican party, meaning the governorship in both houses of the legislature. If you include those states, they control two out of the three branches up to thirty three that's an extraordinary and manage and that wipeout under Obama has not been sufficiently factored into an understanding of how American politics works because it's so decentralized, and so federal is that whoever controls the state apparatus in different states, which is where the elections every election occurs makes an enormous amount of difference and twenty and every ten years redistricting occurs because of a constitutionally mandated change to reflect pop. Relation and that is always politically inflicted. So whoever controls the state, legislatures and the governorships in twenty twenty is going to have a profound influence on the shape of districting for the following ten years. I don't think the Democrats did as well with the governorships and the state houses as they had hoped to in the last week they go to they go to famous scout. Right. So that there are some got simple. It wins wins some big scalp. They've also made progress if you consider the magnitude of the white belt in two thousand ten it's probably too much to think they could reverse that organizational collapse in one election, if they are thinking of this as a two step process progress now building on that further progress in twenty twenty then it may be the beginning of something much bigger beyond the house itself. He's going to say, I think that the governorship position is quite mixed. Because on the one hand for the reason that Gary says, the Democrats Republicans quite some white to full, but I go all the organization advantages that come from controlling and states. What you see I think is some high profile victories. Not the one you've mentioned, David envious kansin, but also high profile fighting for the Democrats in Florida where clearly the Republican candidate was quite weak and the Democrats haven't been able to win and it's say quite striking in Massachusetts that can govern Dara's how it on by by landslide in a state that there's going to be decisive. Tune in this respect Massachusetts needs to be going about. Democrat Florida's interesting. I watched Andrew gillum concession speech. It was a pretty eloquent noble speech its way. But heels it didn't look too Dan cost which is surprising, given he had loss to not just a weekend, very Trumpy handed. But he made a point of saying how thrilled he was that Florida's voters had passed. The I think is a proposition that will Rian French is people in Florida who had lost the vote because they had served time in jail and the figure isos that's one point five million Floridians, which in itself, even the fact that that happened never mind that is now going to happen. It's such a huge factor potentially. That is the most significant result than what happened in Florida overnight, which is the Republicans at the state level one. You can imagine that that was the turning point in Florida politics. But then you think well, but then the Republicans might try and undo that kind of back and forth quality to to. These things really matter. Right. They do really matter, and we have to think about and franchise -ment and disenfranchisement both going on at the same time. This is tremendously occurring in the south one point five. Former felons regaining the right to vote. The south has also been expert in and finding ways to disenfranchise voters and with a sympathetic supreme court. They may well be empowered to do that some more outrageously in Georgia. The idea that the man running for governor was also in charge of the state's electoral organization secretary of state and then allowed to continue in that role while he was running to win the election. There have been all kinds of accusations of very substantial irregularities in Georgia. I would also say the Florida is is both a defeat in a victory. The Republicans are going to be crowing that they won the governorship and the Senate, and that's a big state for twenty twenty..

But no more range than gourds have miniature pumpkins that are for the table for the centerpiece of table that assize of a small apple. Yeah. Like, I mean, when they go small we're talking about a number of few ounces crab apple? And then there's the ones that sit in the bed of the pickup and lift the front axles off the ground and they set the record county fair one eight hundred pounds. I mean that like I said there's like big breeds of dogs and small braids of dogs, but the very one hundred and fifty pounds is the variation between the two small one and the big one this is four ounces versus twenty six hundred pounds attend fast range, and they look really look exactly the same James. Yeah. Yeah. So I fully agree with you. And just one added note. Of course, the the local p walkie detective unit showed up on Monday. And interview any known suspects was for sure. And my friends always guys franking, and, you know, throwing veggie here's car like that. So they called us immediately into into the principal's office and the detective sat down with me actually said let me see your fingers. Okay. You can also Email them send them via snail mail or first class mail, or you know, media mail. If you want to throw in a book force to read whatever you wanna do, we would love to have your questions, Josh. What do you have Adam? The first one's for you. It's from Clinton Morris. He's at Clint. Elmore simply wants to know hypothetically, who would be in the playoff, a Pac, twelve champion, Washington state club with a close loss to USC on the road or a big ten champion Ohio State that was manhandled by the boilers is past week. The jerk is to still say Ohio State, but it's really a good question. If you look into it a little further. I mean, Ohio State certainly would have the best win of those two profiles, which would be a win against Michigan as long as Michigan doesn't struggle here down the stretch, and they would also have a road win against Penn State. They would have a potentially impressive win in the big ten championship game against maybe a team like Iowa was kansin or who knows. Maybe even Purdue Purdue goes on a roll here, but you're Washington state would have the better loss undoubtedly because it was a close game. It was a game that was cloaked in controversy that we've seen now at the officiating deal there with with USC and their close win over Washington state. Washington state would have a win against Oregon, a definitive win this past week. They'd have a win against Utah, which is looking better and better. They'd have a road win against Stanford or ranked Stanford team, and they'd have Washington at home at the end of the year, plus possibly a Utah or whoever in the Pac twelve. Championship games. I think it would be a kind of an interesting debate. I still think Ohio State would get in on the strength of the Michigan and Penn State wins, but Ohio states non-conference profile guys. We can certainly dig it Washington who played, why owning San San Jose State and eastern Washington. But Ohio states win over TCU looks worse and worse as the TCU team goes down, downhill this year, and they're not going to get a lot of credit for that. I don't think with the committee. So I think I think it would be a debate but watch it. But Ohio State ultimately would win the debate. You know what I love about this question, and I'm not sure if it was intended by the writer. But when you look at it is kind of on the surface asking, do we assume that Ohio State is better than Washington state just because of the brand because of the uniform. But then you look at who they lost two. And the flip side of it is you're almost assuming that a lost USC is better than a loss to Purdue because of the brand because of the uniform, you've got, you've got it. Kind of going both ways. And the truth is I don't know that Ohio State is a lot better than Washington state, and I don't know that USC is any better than Purdue. So you put both of those in play and you're, you're right. It would be a fascinating one for the committee to struggle with. I do agree with you Adam though, that that at the end of the day, it would come down to Ohio State having more of what the committee would consider to be quality wins. Speaking of fascinating comparisons, Brad, we got this question from west Miller at west m. Miller west says, I've been seeing a ton of comparisons of the first three years stats of Kirby smart and Mark richt. Do you think bulldog fans should prepare for more of the same or these stats? Simply a fun coincidence. That's really interesting because I have not seen any of these comparisons with Mark richt. Now thinking back on it, Rick, did start very fast at Georgia. Maybe not the way that Kirby smart started fast as far as getting new national champions. Chip game in year two, but he did start fast and then kind of tail off a little bit after that. So it doesn't surprise me that their similarities, but up until the LSU lost a couple of weeks ago..

Do the talking for him and what he says every single week is I'm one of the best quarterbacks in the. NFL today, and that's just all the risks to it. Chris, where it was Russell Wilson drafted third round, right? Just just one of the check and see. He appears to be a guy that made his way pretty well without being such a highly touted draft prospect who went through all the situations at NC state then ended up it was kansin and whatnot tinkered with baseball, potentially. But he's a guy that tennis similar draft situation and wasn't as highly touted of a prospect. And he's pretty household name there in the NFL circles and won a Super Bowl. It all boils down to one thing. And one thing only you have to win games. If you don't win games, you can't be considered a top five quarterback. Also, if Aaron Rodgers wants me to represent him as commercial agent, feel free to call me. I love it. Look if we've learned anything from these commercials that there's already a big enough beef with Aaron Rodgers and the commercial agent as in religion, real estate. And by the way, the first one of those was great and I've used the, I don't know. I didn't think I was going to get an arch nemesis line a lot since then the second one not so good. I think we probably should ended it at one, but you know, we make money where we make money, they seriously that has enough money stop. You don't need to be the commercial. We're not here to debate whether or not Aaron Rodgers should do the commercial for underdog sports, what she should for free. But we're here to talk about Kirk cousins. And I think like I said, I don't want to repeat myself, but it's overly reductive to to say that a quarterback is as good as whether or not he wins games lots of bad quarterbacks, one lots of games because of the teams that they were surrounded by and the NFL more than any other sport. It's a team game all twenty two guys on the field at any given time half to produce in order to win and the chrome would you take? Who would you take right now? Andrew luck or Kirk cousins, Kirk cousins. That's it's not. It's not even a question for me. Well, I mean, listen, I get Lux injury past may hurt you, but I think he's still far superior and has dealt with a lot less talent on that team in recent years maybe later. What? What in recent years? He's been unproductive because of injury in recent years, and maybe later in the season, if you show me is actually is okay. The my opinion could change, but not right now. I guess, I guess I don't know. That's that's a tough one for me. I feel like guys with the similar draft class and outside of those injuries, Andrew Lachman a pretty solid quarterback where Kirk cousins puts up stats and Phil stats and Phil, that's the quarterbacks, Jack Moore, Chris. Oh, he points when it mad, quarterbacks layoffs. Make the Plato Bax job is to accumulate yards and throw touchdown passes while not turning the ball over and there are few players in the league better than that better than Kirk cousins at that. "Night is fast approaching, and if they have been performing the same ways that they've been the first couple of weeks at a season, it could be another long night for that defense. What do you giving us important thing for this team to quickly turn things around? Obviously they're not going to replace shazier overnight and you're not gonna get lazy and bell. Most likely Monday night. You took both? Both of my answers. I mean, what's the most important thing is they have now I don't hold against them not being able to overcome Shays ears injury during the season last year. Not only was it a huge loss for them personnel wise. But emotionally, I think seeing your leader on defense, whether having the question whether or not he can walk again, I would imagine that makes it harder to play pro football makes it harder to go out there and stick your head in the way. You're almost taught to metaphorically defensively. They have had an off-season to not only emotionally recover from that book. Personnel wise figure out how we are going to replace this great player. And the other thing is they do need Levy on Belva like they sense. The big. Three triple b.'s, whatever you wanna call them together when all three play their forty one in nineteen, when one of them is out there fifteen thirteen and one they go from one of the best teams in the league to an average to below average team. They need lady on Belbek and that is a front office decision is wide open. They made the choice to not give him a legitimate long term contract, knowing this was a possible repercussion now I don't think they expected him to go as nuclear as he's gone. Right. That is right. And so that that is lady on bell, has the power in this situation. I didn't think he was going to give up nine hundred grand a week, but the far he has that doesn't look like it's going to change this weekend, so they're gonna have to find a way Monday night likely to win without him. They probably thought what happened last year was gonna happen this year with hold out. Eventually signing joined. The team said, signed his tender and then play out with sny miscalculation. Little just Lou outside. I take a break coming up. Can Russell Wilson say the Seahawks season against the Dallas Cowboys? That's next. This is first things first. We've got two huge college football games tomorrow on FOX versus number seventeen TCU taken on Texas. The number eighteen Wisconsin battles, Iowa, and a big ten showdown all on FOX and the Fox Sports kansin needs a win after that awful loss be why you Texas can turn their season around. A big team, bad loss, tough, Texas. Turn their season around with a win over TCU after their win over USC less time for stories, Aaron Rodgers missed practice yesterday, but is expected to play Sunday against Washington. Keep in mind. He missed practice last week played well against the Vikings, Nick. Would you expect from Rogers in this matchup? I expect him to be as if not more effective than he was last week because they're not playing nearly as good of a defense as Minnesota in they're playing Washington. I, the one thing that I need to be careful of Washington's got a good nose tackle named Ron Payne rookie that if he can get pressure up the middle, that's the way to get it. Rogers make him flush out to the left or the right, which I don't think he wants to do on that knee the wass to res- heads have a good defensive front. So I mean, they got guys that can get after it and collapsed pocket. They're not the Vikings, but it's still a lot of data for Aaron Rodgers, but he's got his trusty buddy blue steel, the knee brace, daddy's worms. So we'll see how that works out..

"Join the line by Associated, Press reporter Madison of course he is Scott Bauer and Scott good afternoon Hey thanks for having me you tweeted out something rather interesting the other day. Related to, the, dollars in this Everts v Walker race now up to the general election. In November and the money that has been tied? To both of them I'm curious Tony one million dollars he claims in the eight days following his primary victory where does does, that, surprise you in that total, was that just big money donors or was that a little. Bit of, a piecemeal donations out there from statewide supporters All we know is that they say they got donation smugglers forty one hundred people we also know that during the democratic primary when we had between eight and ten candidates who, a lot, of big. Time democratic donors were kind of waiting on the sidelines to see who actually wanting to primary. Before they put their money in so for? Tony Everts to get a million bucks in a little over week really isn't? That surprising given the dynamic we had during, that crowded, primary and the other thing to keep in, mind, is that at the. End of July Iverson had about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars in the Bank and governor Walker head. About four point eight four point four million so there is considerable advantage on the governor's side Tony versus. Trying to, at, least cut into do you anticipate that race Everts v Walker do you. Anticipate that to be big a one of those? Big money races because it seems as if there are certain you know certain elections where there are more money beat Tossed around than others Is definitely going to be one of, the biggest spending races you certainly those kansin Batum the US Senate race will be. The two premier races and I'm sure when it's all said and done this Wisconsin governor's race will be one of the more expensive ones in the country You've got a two term Republican incumbent looking to go for, third term, who has has shown over the years the ability to raise a lot of, money has got a, lot of groups on his behalf spending money and you've got energetic energized. Democratic voters on the other? Side who feel like this is their chance to take, out Walker the the the national mood is going to be on their. Side in a mid, term and, you're gonna see I think a lot of outside money coming on their side as well what about the Senate race what do you anticipate. There. When it, comes to fundraising, Baldwin has Tammy Baldwin's been out there. Going at. It for a while whereas Lee mayor was you know in a pretty tight tussle with Kevin Nicholson and had to burn through. Some of her more chest to just be him in the primary, sure I mean in some ways it's like the governor's race in reverse the big. The big thing you have on the Senate side is there was a ton of outside money being spent in the primary against Cam Baldwin four Kevin Nicholson primarily but the money being spent? Against Baldwin would would help you would think in the general election the. Big questionnaire though is, whether some, of those people who were spending a lot in the primary on the Republican side will spend as much or you know get as involved. In. The general, election as they, were in the primary primarily of dick. You line. Who was very much in support of Kevin Nicholson and we'd get to see whether and how much he intends to spend to help Scott Foxconn announcing a major partnership today a major donation to UW Madison can you tell us about, what that was and how important it was on both sides to have this happen Sure I was at the announcement earlier today on the campus here in Madison Five and committed to giving, UW one hundred million dollars to help facilitate research and innovations and medical studies and all sorts of. Things. On the UW campus and on the Foxconn site down at Racine county The UW says they're going to come through with one hundred million on their end and create this partnership it could. Lead to job opportunities for you w grads, which is a big deal for. Foxconn as they try to fill these openings are, going to have as well as just kind of create what size kinda says it's a long term commitment to the state demonstrate their commitment to. The state, the governor was not there for the, announcement today but obviously he's tied very closely to Foxconn and and this is an issue in the campaign from the other side saying that it's just not they're skeptical it's going to pan, out as, promised and it's. Not worth the cost to. Taxpayers for the. Incentives that were. Offered some financial news both on the campaign trail and as our pertains to Foxconn. "So there are six supposed to get senate floor votes this week so there's one from the fifth circuit which is considered the one of the most conservative appellate courts we have three from the seventh circuit based in chicago one from the sixth basins cincinnati and one from the tenth and out west near and the colorado region and they don't seem to be drying much controversy over their legal views or what they may have set in the past that's a lot of times what democrats have pointed to when opposing trump's judicial nominees but the one nominee i'm watching who's getting a senate floor vote this week is michael brennan of the seventh circuit from wisconsin and the reason i'm watching him is because there's been a lot of fight over process in the senate and michael brennan is one example where senate republican leaders have decided to proceed on his nomination with a confirmation hearing and with the confirmation vote on the floor despite the fact that one of his home state senators tammy baldwin of wisco kansin who's a democrat has not given essentially permission to advance the nomination there's been this century old tradition in the senate called the blue slip rule what happens is that when there's a judicial nomination from a certain state the nominees home state senators send literally a blue slip of paper back to the senate judiciary committee as a sign that says hey it's okay to go ahead with his confirmation hearing wait a minute so you're in we're in two thousand eighteen and we're still dealing with blue pieces of paper.
