"Traded to a team. It's already built. Yeah. There was already postseason. But fell short a couple of years ago, so he's the get you over the hump guy. He's supposed to be the closer, right? Yes. But it's already built and but now it's a championship or bus. Right. We just traded for Kevin Durant. We just started for our top 25 basketball player in the NBA. We just traded for a top, sorry, a top ten basketball player right now in the NBA may be a top what? Like you just said, top, I would say, top 40, maybe I'm not gonna say anything going back in the morning. All right. In the history of the year. Brad sweat, yeah. Yeah. Okay. How do you stay there? I expect some pushback on you on that, but he stayed in OKC when they were right there. But before they decided that they wanted to blow it up, you know, had he done that, yeah, I would give him a little bit more props, but no, I'm a hater, a little bit of hate on Friday. Nobody's that hater on him. Is it just me Friday? Piggy barber was some advice for Aaron Rodgers if he's considering a plane for the jets. If he is that sensitive, that he gets upset that people reporters, opinion makers, influencers, whoever want to talk about him, he is going to struggle in New York. And I don't know if it's the right fit for him. I don't know if I want him in New York if this is going to be his reaction to things that don't matter. When you're doing something that feels odd to normal society, which is going to sit in the cabin in the Woods from four days and complete century isolation, it's just kind of we're going to talk about it. Think he makes a good point. Aaron Rodgers has rabbit ears and he's been in Green Bay, Wisconsin his entire career. Yes. With a super soft, super friendly media. And he still has his moments of sensitivity. Correct. So what would New York be like? I'd hate it. New York is by far one of the places that man it's in America. When you think about sports and you think about the media presence, do you tell me a bigger market than New York? There is none. So for me, when you look at a guy like Aaron Rodgers, everything will be scrutinized. Oh, you don't come to OTAs or all your late one day or you didn't show up for one day, people are going to ask questions that people are going to get after them. And Aaron Rodgers strikes me as a person for whatever reason now, especially over the last half a decade. A person that pays a little bit too much attention to the media and make wants to make comments and wants to fire back. So good luck to him if he goes to New York. Boy, I hope this never happens. John skipper, the former ESPN boss says that if the NFL ever decided to make the Super Bowl a pay per view event that it would generate billions of dollars. Now you would think that NFL owners with their franchise is now being worth well north of three, four, $5 billion wouldn't be consumed with wrangling every last dollar out of the sport, but they are, and it's why they have such huge vision for international football, but make no mistake. They loved the idea of that possibility of a Kansas City buffalo AFC championship game in a neutral site. Yes. And it planted a seed. And they would love the idea of having the AFC and NFC championship game be at a neutral site. Yes. We were all hate that. Also, what if they did? What if they did make the Super Bowl a pay per view event? I think you would lose fans. Would you? I truly believe that you will lose fans because not every household is in a financial position to sit there and say, hey, you know what? We can do this. You know, we would 100% try to that absolutely. But there are some people that unfortunately, things are tight, and they would not be able to afford that. So I think that you miss out on the opportunity to capitalize on as much fans and as much viewership as possible. Yeah, but you know how the NFL would look at that. They say, okay, we've got. Maybe we lose a few fans. Yeah. We're going to make a lot of money. Because the NFL, what's the one thing the NFL has shown, they can keep, they can keep doing things that you would think might hurt them, but they march on. You've done enough. Thursday Night Football all of a sudden this year, you have to have Amazon. You've done enough. The possibility of adding an 18th game. You've done enough. Having these games in these neutral sites, you've done enough. Don't mess with the Super Bowl. Don't do that. They're never satisfied. If I had told I agree, Mike, I agree, I just hope that they don't go in that door. You hope. But can I see it happening? Yes. If I had told you ten, 15 years ago that we'd be looking at a 17th and then 18th game in a regular season expansion of playoffs and yeah, it's one of the worst kept secrets around the NFL. They love the idea of an AFC NFC neutral site champion where they could where they can promote it. Everybody knows that's where it's going to be. They can do fanfest. They can make it a mini Super Bowl two weeks before the actual Super Bowl. And make it another huge event. Yes. Oh God, I would hate that. Yeah. Mister players I would think you would hate that. This season ticket holders you would hate that. But here's the thing, they'll do something to sweeten up the pie and players will be like, okay, that sounds good. They'll do something for the players who get them to sign. You would render, you would render the regular season even more meaningless. In that you would, there would even be the incentive to play for home field. You wouldn't even have that anymore. Then there might feel bad for whatever fan base does make it to that championship because now you're playing out the butt to attack. Exactly. Because I'll tell you this for me, I'm a businessman. You go to a neutral site, AFC, NFC game. I'm renting two hotels a year before. A couple shows. And put in my money down because I'm trying to flip it. Absolutely. I'm trying to now go on the other market and Super Bowl tickets are extremely expensive. Guys are sitting there under some of them and it's all about getting as much money as possible. You return the championship game into that mini Super Bowl exactly. Like you said, so hopefully they don't go in that direction as far as the pay per view event. I just really think that that would be back for the game. But can I see it happening? Absolutely. Okay, good. Then we're on the same page there. I would not put anything. Anything past the NFL in their insatiable quest to make more money. That'll do it for what is trending and is it just me Friday? Get the best of the best. Get those hot sports takes off your chest as you head off into the weekend. Hot takes next. Loosen up those joints and muscles. Each time we are 7 45 stretch. Here slur within Evans with the biggest story in Denver sports. Here we go, is he just me Friday? We'll get to some of the best of these. It just means he's got a lot of reaction to our what's trending story about the former ESPN boss John skipper, who said that don't be surprised if somewhere down the road, the NFL makes the Super Bowl paper view. And immediately got reaction if they do that, I'll never watch it anymore. I'm a Bronco fan, but I would never watch the Super Bowl unless they were in it. You say that, you get a lot of that, but the NFL continues to just dominate. They're coated in Teflon. And you wonder, is there anything they can do that could kill the golden goose? This past year was a trial of the day.

"End zone. He's got it. Touchdown. Bearcats. Alec pierce. If you can imagine a Michael Pittman and his contested catch kind of capability and Alec pierce now a deep threat backing defense is off a little bit of Jonathan Taylor. He might be even better this year. So who knows? Well, Chris, now you're right in our Wheelhouse here. I mean, you're talking to the wide receiver position and we have witnessed a massive re rating of the top, both in free agency. I'm talking to Monte Adams, Tyree kill, cop, AGB you name it, as well as the draft, right? I mean, we had a lot of wide receivers going the first round. And so my question for you is with all this money that's getting paid to the wide receiver position. What does this mean for teams for general managers looking to build a champion? Yeah, it has me calling my agent and asking, do I have any potential of a comeback at all? Whenever they're making $40 million a year now it's insane. But I think it is exactly where the league is going. And even more so this year because it hasn't been talked about a whole lot yet, but the league is going to really crack down on illegal contact penalties this year. And the reason is that scoring has been moving downwards. Just ever so little, but a little bit. And one of the great breakthroughs that happened as far as you can look historically that when scoring really started to take off is when they really put that illegal contact play in, bump and run coverage was lessening the scoring around the league. So now they're going to really crack down on it and they make no bones about it. They send out a memo the other day. The reason we're doing this is we want more points scored at the National Football League. So now with devonte moving on to the Raiders with tyreek going to Miami and we're starting to see this influx of incredible town. I mean, think about the guys that are in the game these days that 6 foot three lay 225 pounds and run four three 5 and all the insanity and you can't go up and play bump and run coverage against them. You're going to see some points scored and you're going to see the passing game be even bigger and more prevalent in what has been so far this year. So it's exciting times for the league and for wide receivers. So there's this need or this push to get higher scores in each of the games. Is that to generate excitement to make it more engaging for the viewer? How much of it is tied to the popularity, the growing popularity of sports betting? Well, like I always tell my kids if you don't know the answer to something and you answer money, you're going to be right 99 points. I don't know what the other one tenth of 1% might be. But yeah, all the above. And I don't think it's directly tied to gambling, but I think if you're gambling legally now, which we can all officially talk about at this point in time and certainly at TF athlete do a lot of talks about gambling and our new app that came out. So we're excited about that too. But yeah, I think that the overall excitement of the game and what differentiates it is are the skill positions, these great quarterbacks, the ability of the receivers to make incredible plays with these gloves that are made out of flypaper or something these days. I would have liked to have played one game with the plus sign, but that's a whole other story there. But yeah, I think that we're seeing now what the fans want, clearly, are more points, more great plays, more games that end like the Kansas City buffalo game last year where whoever took the field last was going to win the football game and move on in the playoffs. So yes, that's what sells. No question about it. It's what the fans want. I want to talk about you PFF app because I think you just kicked it off the year before last year when we talked to you. If I got the app right, how has it been going recently? We actually, we were working on it last year when we talked. And it has just kicked off and I'm probably going to get in trouble for doing this because this is supposed to be our soft launch where they make sure nothing breaks down and they make sure. So I'm going to come on your show and we'll have 10 million people going to check it out. Don't worry, I won't tell anybody, man. But yeah, it's just PFF and so now it's news, it's all the fantasy news and information you need, but more importantly, direct link to betting information and you can actually connect back to bed MGM and go

"Sass sour. We're previewing the NFL season with NBC Sunday Night football lead game analyst Chris collinsworth. We left off talking about some of the players Chris is excited about entering the new season. Chris now who else should I keep my eye on? There's a guy named Alec pierce who was a wide receiver taken in the maybe second or third round out of Cincinnati and he is that sort of deep threat kind of guy. Fires deep for Alec pierce in the end zone. He's got it. Touchdown. Bearcats. Alec pierce. "Of Famer Pedro Martinez by his side I am going to start with lynching on this Yeah he's great He's one of the most popular figures in the history of Boston sports a big poppy David Ortiz first time eligible on the ballot We're surrounded by Pedro Martinez one of his daughters and his dad was sitting right next to him and that's where he wanted to be with his dad I was with David last week at a function in Boston and he said I'm going to be with my dad because my dad introduced me to the game of baseball and when I was in the Dominican my dad gave me some checklists He said try to make it to the United States Try to make a major league team try to be a starter Try to be in all star Try to win a World Series He says but my dad never said try to get into the Hall of Fame It was something I never ever thought about And he said this would really be something if I was in cooperstown with all these great heroes of the game and now he's there and he couldn't be happier and only one of the players that could into the Hall of Fame David Ortiz So that's a big story and who didn't get into the hall of it was probably his biggest story as well Yes Barry Bonds Roger Clemens easily some would argue the best hitter in the best picture in history is certainly during their era falling way short on their final attempt to be voted into the Hall of Fame The people who support the argument that even before the steroid era each of these players had Hall of Fame caliber numbers But it's notable that unlike David Ortiz who appeared to be universally loved in Boston is that fair to say lynchy Without question Okay Roger Clemens Barry Bonds Not necessarily universally well liked players or beloved players Well one thing to remember it takes 75% of the baseball writers association of America to say hey you're in Big poppy got almost 78% Barry Bonds on his tenth and final tribe by the baseball writers He got about 66% I believe and then everyone else fell after that And Sammy Sosa Oh my goodness he only got 18.5% and that's his last attempt at least going through the writers You know the writers are divided into two camps There was 397 writers who vote on this And broadcasters have never been allowed And that's one of the unfair It is Are you trying to tell me that Vin Scully doesn't know as much about the baseball game as any writer If Bob Costas doesn't know as much that Al Michaels doesn't know as much but that's the rules and that's the way it's been going for a long long time But there are some old school writers who a on principle alone never vote for anybody on their first ballot Willie Mays and Hank Aaron Yeah They don't get in And somebody that writers did not vote for them on their first first time that they were on the ballot Just strictly on principle which is absolutely ludicrous Yeah I can go on about what you said about big time announcers earning her well I can go on And I don't understand that Well they run the press boxes and they run and they run the Hall of Fame They do a very nice job with it But this is going to open up a lot of scrutiny Now there could be an avenue for bonds Clemens to get into the Hall of Fame There's a new era committee that's going to meet in December And it's comprised of members of the Hall of Fame former players and some writers and if you get 12 out of 16 votes in this December coming up it's December 22nd 11 months from now they could possibly get into the Hall of Fame So it's not a done deal for these two but they are no longer on they are no longer on the ballot Remember I said if the TV ratings this past weekend weren't sky high I was going to turn in my Rory Rogers membership card While I'm keeping it because this according to Nielsen the epic football playoff game especially between buffalo and Kansas City reach nearly 43 million TV viewers on Sunday That's the most for any event since last year's Super Bowl and the NFL just struck gold with just a great weekend all four of those divisional games It averaged 38.2 TV and digital viewers up 20% over last year and the best ever for the league's divisional round of playoffs according to the Nielsen company car I think that Kansas City buffalo game is the one that really takes the cake because in Kansas City that game got 90% share So that means 9 out of every ten TVs in the Kansas City market that were on during that time We're watching that game And you know they watched every minute of it because that game was a nail biter Oh yeah That bill's chiefs game In fact when it got down into overtime there was 51.7 million people watching that It was absolutely spectacular And this is going to have a fall over effect of this weekend with the championship games on Sunday at 3 o'clock for the AFC and 6 40 for the NFC game People are going to say wow that weekend was good How can they possibly top it this weekend So people are going to be tuning in and of course as we get down to the Super Bowl that's when the audience.

"With Nick cattle Johnson is subbing in for Nick one more week, but Greg beard is here. Normally we would talk about what transpired last week, but who cares, really? We'll still get into it. We'll talk a little bit about the Jaguars. Most important on everyone's mind the playoffs. Who will the Patriots play? Who wants to play the Patriots who doesn't want to play the Patriots right now? Opinions by differ on that. We'll talk about that as well. Are people right now actively seeking to play the Patriots in the first round of the playoffs? Depends on who you ask. We'll talk about that and a little bit about the Jaguars game as well. And give you our prediction for this week's upcoming game against Miami. But first off, let's start with the playoffs Greg. Right now the Patriots are one of 5 teams guaranteed a spot in the postseason in the AFC and they could theoretically play anybody right now. That could be buffalo any of the division winners. They could go as low. They're the four seat now they could go down to the 6, but they could play Tennessee. Kansas City buffalo or cincy. So let's just start ranking the potential opponents. Let's start with if everybody holds serve and wins. Let's start with buffalo. This is, you know, the one you know, the team you've already played twice. Yeah, and quite frankly, I think the playoffs seating as it is right now outside of the Chargers and the Raiders. I mean, who knows? I like the Chargers in that game, not by a lot. But I think it's going to hold serve. I think it's going to end up the exact same way. You know, there's a lot of talk about this and that. But I think it ends up the exact same way, which would mean the Patriots traveled to buffalo for the divisional the wildcard game. You know, where I have them ranked. I have them to me, they are the second preferred team. Just because they are familiar with them, they know, they know how buffalo's going to play them. They just, they just got buffalo's best shot. And while the Patriots lost, they played like complete crap in that game and highly confident that they are not going to do that again. And I think they're going to have a much better and we've talked about it before in the aftermath of that, where I said, I like them in a rematch. If that didn't say, I think it was great how it worked out for the Patriots when it comes to the playoffs because the first matchup was basically negated because of weather. They got the bills best shot in this game, their best game plan. Now they can adjust to it and then in the next round, they get to adjust. I don't think there's much the bills can do different to sort of throw any curveballs at the Patriots. So they know the worst case scenario with the bills..

"Kansas City Unless there's some major injury, they should be the best of you guys have a repeat of the Super Bowl. Don't get that often do you? Okay? Not me. I got the Packers and the Chiefs. Oh, that's right. Who wins the Super Bowl buddy Kansas City. Buffalo bills. Daddy. I so badly want to say Tom Brady repeats, but I'm not going to I'm going with I'm going because I think Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs pull it off. This year they improve the offensive line. I think if they give them some time in the Super Bowl against that stout Buck's defense, I think that they're going to win the Super Bowl. Jeff Boys hate to do it. But last ants Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers hoist the Lombardi Trophy in a Storybook ending to his Green Bay career. It will be the last dance in Wisconsin for him. Boy the box and then the Packers. Wow. Amazing. Don't like it. Don't I don't have a problem with the box. I'm just not a Packer guy. Not at all. Listen, I hate the Packers. But He's in terms of my analysis. Yes, yes, perspective. All right. Super Bowl MVP cap. Josh Allen, Uh, Travis Kelce. Which is his correct pronunciation of his name for everybody out there, Jet, right? Are we doing that? Uh, do we have to do that? Honey, you don't have to. I know that I could be incorrect. That suck your only the fantasy guy. I know. Uh um Super Bowl M v P. Aaron Rodgers. Danny. Oh, God, Miller, I Patrick Mahomes. All right. Okay. The offensive player of the year Davante Adams. Last dance. The Bantams, the whole offensive player. Wow, that's a bold pick. That's what we do here, pal. Wow, I am going to go with Patrick Mahomes will get the offensive player of the year. Sign me up for sorry Cap signed me up for Matthew Stafford being paired with Sean McVeigh. I think he's going to pile up some good stats. I like that. Miller. I'm going to go with Derrick Henry. We all have the Titans making the playoffs and I think he's the reason why obviously, running backs or diamond doesn't good cap Defensive player of the year. Aaron Donald Myles Garrett Myles Garrett as well. Great pick. I, too have Myles Garrett. We all have the Browns making the playoffs. He's the guy that's going to lead that charge. Uh, the offensive Rookie of the year Kyle pits Give me Najee Harris of the Steelers. Dime a dozen. Yes, I'm don't know. Justin Fields. Justin Fields, Boy. That's the hope so not out. Well, let me ask Dan Danny. What's your? What's your pick? Well, I so badly wanted to put Justin Fields but because I have the Bears going, 7 10. I just couldn't do it, but we all have the Patriots making the playoffs. And that's because of Mac Jones. God this afternoon. No, none of us. Take Trevor Lawrence. Wow. Wow. How about that about that lot of people think. Well, you know, some people think Justin Fields is the best quarterback in this draft. But others still feel strongly about Trevor Lawrence. I find it interesting. Mac Jones gives a vote, though. Alright. I liked it. Defensive Rookie of the year I go. Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys Michael Parsons. Michael Parsons. I cap you have the Broncos making the playoffs Because of that stout defense. They've got a new quarterback named Patrick Sartain. He's going to be the rookie of the year. That's a very, very good pick. No question about it. Who is the coach of the year? I have. Sean McDermott, Buffalo, Kevin Stefanski. Cleveland you I thought you had the right pick cap, but it's Sean McVeigh. He'll be the coach of the year. Gentlemen. It will be Bill Belichick because Mac Jones is leading that team back to the playoffs. That's good stuff there. There you go. White Sox go.

"A team that came really close to a Superbowl to they made an AFC Championship Game, Josh Alameda, you know, take a huge step forward. The bills will be better this year. I think take another step forward. So the favorites right now in the NFL, may be Kansas City Buffalo, the LA Rams and the Buccaneers But I have five teams that are dark horse teams. That I think could be really good, depending on a factor or two. But teams, that no one, really. I think they might be expected to be playoff team, but they're not expected to be Super Bowl teams if that makes sense. So, here are my five Dark Horse teams in the NFL. You have. Number one, the Indianapolis Colts. This is probably the least. Corsi Team part of the Colts. That's a hoarse. Anyway, they're adding Carson Wentz quarterback from Philadelphia coming off. Awfully worst year of his career, got benched lost his job, made bad decisions, I've covered it to death, but some people think it's not going to work. There are people that like Philadelphia fans who are very biased or like he's awful. Not going to work. He sucks. And it comes down to how much of an impact do you believe Carson Wentz is going to have with the Colts? Is he going to make them even better and push them over the edge to a Superbowl there. A playoff team last year. Or is he going to fail? And if you believe in Carson Wentz, then therefore, you have to also believe the Colts are a team that could contend for a Super Bowl. Does their team is not good? The coach the team they run the ball, they play great defense. You assume Carson's going to be a great quarterback. Then you have to therefore also assume the Colts are going to be a Super Bowl contender. Number to another Dark Horse team. The Denver Broncos are a team that has an amazing amazing. Amazing, amazing roster. They just need good quarterback play and they need to stay healthy. And I remember when Kurt Warner, revived his career in Arizona, and went to a Superbowl with the Arizona Cardinals, I remember when Matt Schaub led the NFL in passing in 2009, like, is it, does anyone expect Teddy Bridgewater to be amazing? We think he's going to be the starting quarterback in Denver. I think he's going to be out Drew lock. There's a reason they traded in Bridgewater. I don't think in Aaron Rodgers trade is going to happen for Denver. If they get Aaron Rodger, if they're definitely a Super Bowl Contender, but Teddy Bridgewater.

We were number one Mr Producer overall audience even though we were up against the Kansas City Buffalo game. You know? My shows right in the teeth of football. Can't say that about most of the rift. So we crushed CNN and we crushed M s LSD. And they know it and I know it. Now you know it. I say, Let's take some calls. What do you think? Madeline in surprise. Arizona XM Satellite Madelyn, How are you? I find Mark. How are you? Very well. Thank you. Great. Thank you for taking my call. And it was a great show on Sunday. By the way, the new grand, which is great. I loved him. Depression, despair, disgust, contempt, nausea. Anger everything. I can't imagine how many l sir. But there is And so what? I've been doing it. I've been getting on the phone and calling Kong our Congress people. All of them and senators. The media I'd like doing that. And I call him and just say it as it is. I am nice on the phone. They call it and they want to know what they can do. And that is something they can do. They could get involved, and it will show. I'm sure. So we do care and we're calling in and it doesn't have to be just my senator. My cross, right? I got it. I got it. All right, Madeline. Good job. We appreciate it. You take care of yourself. Um, no completely backing Communists. I went to a Communist in 1973 with Salvador Allende in Chile from Nicaragua and this radical left Democrats. They hate their own country. They want to destroy their own country just for power and control. And it's disgusting. Disgraceful what they're doing to this America. Let me tell you more. Like that. Maybe you said, I have widows calling me and they want to pray like I had a call the other night. So in the morning, this lady's for stomach. It's steak and just worry. Because the American people are good people in this people are evil, evil. They hated their own country They hated and there seems to be a lot of that doesn't there And you know what? Let me let me tell you this. I would love to have more immigrants from Nicaragua. I'd love to have more immigrants from Cuba. I'd love to have morning immigrants from Venezuela. Because people coming out of those countries get it. They know what liberty means. They're not interested in all the rest of this crap. They know what liberty means. They know what America is. You know what it is? It's something you really can't teach. You have to live it. And once you've had the iron fist attorney punch in the nose. You know what it means to be an American. And that's why Like, Frankly, I love people like Josie who come into this country or their parents came into this country because they love America and they love liberty. Go right ahead. And I thank God that I've been With the freedom of speech for 49 years mark in this country and I really love this country. I came the live away and let me tell you mark all those criminals coming. "I mean, it doesn't get any better than that. Well, and Tom Brady can bridge still bring it when he has to. And that's certainly you know, great. I mean, I call him the quarterback savant. I mean, he's just like that's I'm a quarterback. That's what I am, you know, And it is kind of interesting to watch. But my hunch is really did I say that right? The homes Homes. Yeah, Bones. He is fun to watch. He seems like he's got a great personality, And at least he looks good on all the ads he does, you know, I mean, he's He's a lot of fun, and it was interesting could she knows they? He and Aaron Rodgers both Hawk for State farm, so they were using a lot of state farm commercials. Through both of those games. Yeah, I was. I was too kind of disappointed that Kansas City Buffalo game wasn't a little bit tighter. But the Chiefs are really really good, especially when my homes is healthy and playing right? There are a ton of fun to watch. I had a ton of fun watching them win the Super Bowl last year and then, of course, also had fun watching them one last year, because as we've I've mentioned a couple times on this show Derek Booth, who used to work here for a long time. He's now the spokesman of the Whole county Sheriff's office is he's from Missouri. He's a Chiefs fan. So I'm always happy for him. Anytime the Chiefs are doing well, well and kind of bringing it back home, I think you know Jake from is about The fourth string quarterback, I think above low, but still he got to go to an NFC playoff championship in his first year as a player. I saw this really cute interview. It's called coffee with the bills, and it's between They have this kicker from London. On the Bills team that is on the NFL outreach to bring international players into football. So they was doing the interviews that was weird in a football stadium with this British accent. Interviewing Jake from, but it was funny. It was done on the first day where there was a big snow in Buffalo. So he comes out of his house, and he's got 2 Ft of Snow. He's got to deal with which he's never dealt with before on. So it was. It was a great interview, and I, you know my hat's off. Hats off Tonto. Jakey. He got to have a fun right today. I mean this season. Yeah, They've got to be a part of a team that was made a run to the championship game. Sure, I mean, the bills will be if they'll be back in it next year. Hopefully, we had this with Jacksonville a few years ago where they got the A C title game. They had a good defense. Good running game. We all thought all they're gonna be around for a while, and then they collapse so Hopefully, the same thing doesn't happen to Buffalo. We're gonna take a break right now. We're going to get to the serious stuff when we come back, But I just thought that with the death of Hank Aaron, and what happened with football games yesterday, it was worth talking. "Let's talk about this Super Bowl matchup here throws in Johnny's getting Kevin for the touchdown. Here's my home. Sligon underhand of the prison. Touchdown about that. Throw two pretty good quarterbacks in Super Bowl 55 Kansas City versus Tampa Bay Ha Brady versus Patrick Home, So the age difference. Tom Brady 43 Patrick Mahomes 25. When Tom Brady won his first Super Bowl Patrick, the hose was six and during the first grade, Wow, this will be Tom Brady's tent. Super Bowl. By the way, this kind of ironic also that the first time ever that a team plays a Super Bowl in their home stadium. You have very little fans like limited to no family. That's why I don't I mean, other than dangerous. No. One the field? Yes. See it being a huge advantage. No, You can't say it's a home field advantage this year because there will be very limited. And I think a lot of the fans are going to be health care workers and stuff right now. They're giving a lot of free tickets. Health care. Yeah, that'll be picked out by people. So some of them don't even have a horse in the race and won't care who wins. I just happen to be at a Super Bowl so Should be a pretty good game. Yeah, I think so. I mean, I'm I don't know. I kind of was hoping for like a Josh Alan. And maybe an Aaron Rodgers just because But seeing Tom Brady take a team that literally it's pretty much I would say 90% of the same team that was, you know, the Buccaneers were last year. If you had told me that Tom Brady was going to the Buccaneers, and they're going to the Super Bowl in the first year, he would, you know, give me a year to it's just incredible man who sold his soul to the devil or something. It's just unbelievable so and it's also really hard now to make that argument against Tom Brady being the greatest of all time. You know Brady's to go. You're like no, there's other players better. It's really hard to argue against that right now Super and if he wins the Super Bowl, that it's impossible to argue against that, so All right, let's get to TV. What's going to tell you got new bachelor Ellen's game of games? If you've been watching that show Snowpiercer that makes a return to TV tonight over on TNT 911 and I'm Home alone Star back, So it's all rise. Good doctor and bull all back tonight. "Ahead to in the National Football League. Yeah, the Buccaneers and the Packers for the NFC and you got in the A F. C game Buffalo at Kansas City Buffalo at Kansas City. This is an intriguing game. It looks like my Holmes is going to play Buffalo. Is a team that has just been surging. And as I said before the break their quarterback Josh Alan, I think from year to year, two years there has been a quarterback that has made the kind of progress that he has made ought to be a wildly entertaining game. 6 40. Is the kickoff time for that in Kansas City right now and getting ready to cover this game. I'm sure Is a good and longtime guest to this program. Jeff, a doting has been on with me many times during the NFL season. It's great to have him back here on 700 wlw. Jeff, How are you on this glorious Saturday? Can doing Well, thanks so much for having me. Describe if you can right now. Just the emotion, the tenor The feeling of everybody in Kansas City right now, are people going crazy out there? People are going crazy. You know, there's all sorts of buildings and stuff showing pictures, the chief running back covered in red and stuff. You know, it's a little people are very excited, probably a little bit more muted than it was. Last year, just given with going on in the world, and also, you know, last year having one at all, but that's that. People are still very, very excited in Kansas City, and why wouldn't they be? I mean, it's this is this is a big deal for them now, the latest on the homes he is going to play. He is going to play. Yeah, and then in fact, you know he was sound like he was very lucid, he said he even remembered the play. He no like cruiser protocol, but he's like even broke down the play the kind of run pass option where he was hit by Mak Wilson. So Sounds fine. I'm ex Secure Ius. He also said, you know, before he suffered the concussion, hey, was laboring a little bit through a two injury, then quite look like himself in the second half, he said that has also gotten much better with each passing day. Now. Kansas City and Buffalo met early in the season week week, week six. I think, anyway, Kansas City won that game wanted by seven or eight points. Homes had a great game. I mean, if you look at his numbers, 21 2 26 2 25 couple of touchdowns, No interceptions. Buffalo, on the other hand, struggled as they have been to run the ball. And Josh Allen through Ah, pick that came home to haunt. I'm just wondering how different do you think this game will be this time now playing in Kansas City? You know, uh, great point about that previous game can and I think it will be very different in the sense that the bills were kind Think still kind of finally finding the way Josh Allen had a he's had an excellent season. I think the most improved player in the league. That's who I'm, a member of the Pro Football writers Associate association and I voted for Alan is the most improved player, but it's fantastic season as he has had, he had a little bit of a dip a little mini slump in this Coincided with that, and also Buffalo was pretty beat up defensively. Matt Milano, one of the best linebackers wasn't playing, so I think It will be a little more crisp offensive game for the bills with also interesting the story of that previous game. Well, the Hamas played well is really the chief's running games that just obliterated. Um, the the bills. They rushed for 245 yard chiefs, including 161 from Clyde Edwards, the lair, So that's really the story does what happened in that? This week are excusing that October game is that to stop the deep pass? You know, that was the focus of the Bills defense because my home is so dangerous that way. They really allowed the chief's running lanes, so we'll be interesting if they maybe bring those guys down a little bit. Well, that's such a getting gassed by the run again. Edwards, a lair. Um well, let's not necessary last week against Cleveland, I thought we all know what was going on there, but he really Hasn't run all that effectively. Has he In the latter stage through this year. I mean, I know they played a game against Vegas. His his total yards weren't up his yards per carry were very good. What's going on with him? Yeah. You know, he obviously hasn't been quite as effective if you was early in the year. Then he had the injury, So this will be his he slated to play. This will be his first game back since, uh, suffering that injury. You know, my He hasn't said this, but I also wonder if we just A lot of wear and tear just a college guy not using used to the long season and the Chiefs were using him a lot. But even if he is not his explosive is he was Only in season if he's still getting over the injury a little bit. They're Williams looks really good at running back for him last week on day also have Levy on Belle, who didn't play in the in the previous bills match up against chief. So Levy on is also a little bit banged up. But so the Chiefs do have other options running the ball, too. Yeah, On the other side of the equation is the Kansas City defense and it takes on some water nationally. Ah, lot of people think it's not a great defense. Uh, certainly, when you play with the kind of offense that Kansas City has, you're on the field a lot. I mean, you're you know, this is a team that can strike and score within three or four plays. One of the Kansas City defense and particularly how they match up in this rematch with Buffalo. Yes, Chief defense is really It is kind of maligned, but it has been Don't break defense, and they do seem to make plays when it matters most, you know, in the divisional playoff game against the Brown looks like.

"You're getting down to the nitty gritty of the time. The windows open for this. You get to the point you get to the Super Bowl. You get this one. It changes the conversation we have about you. Is Aaron Rodgers Been fantastic. Right now. He's still in that breeze. Category. Still in the category, others were, you know, he's great, but why you ask yourself why? Why wasn't there more? Well, Tom Brady is the reason why there weren't more. There were other great quarterbacks to When it comes down to his legacy when it comes down to his work. This is much bigger for Aaron Rodgers. The Kansas City Buffalo game. I'd be surprised if either team came out tight. I think that's gonna be a hell of a football game to watch. I think Kansas City will win. I pull for Buffalo. 855 to 1 to four. CBS when we go to the phones, Tom Myrtle Beach Stuff. Carolina, You're next up on CBS Sports radio. Go ahead, Tom. Yeah, I ast farce. Tampa Bay Green bait. I've got Green Bay winning big Material ground out. I think it could be for Tom Brady. For whatever the reason, there seems to be a little disconnect between him and like Kevin's, and I think the other factors mobility of the quarterbacks. When one is so much more mobile and the other isn't and three interceptions or why the Buccaneers you're playing this week? Not because of how well they played. And I think rebates on the other game. Nobody's mentioning this pat. Maybe they are but Vikram Holmes coming off that concussion. These days. I think the first time a player place after a concussion you gave you going to that game, least subconsciously little down. Maybe a little bit. Work guardian. Your players are much more educated about. Dangers of concussions. You know, my home is already they go home every day with me Stay with you for a second time. Stay with me for a second because his foot's banged up. I know that he's got that weird toe injury and I don't know why they're running in the first place. The injury that happened. And this is what's weird. It wasn't a concussion person. I know that's things that they tell you, But if you go back and you look, there's an old clip and you may you may or may not remember this, and this is gonna be. I'm gonna take out to the woods here for a second, but But come with me on this. Is Hulk Hogan was once on Richard Belzer show. And choked him out. And we in Richard Belzer has admitted he was his heart was pumping pretty hard when that happened, And so we quickly you could be, you could be put to sleep. And Richard Belzer fell, hit his head suit All Cogan. It was a big thing. That play reminded a lot of people of that incident. Where, if your blood's pumping and Patrick Holmes is in a high pressure situation, he's running that play cuts it off really quickly, Boom That could've knocked about you. Wake up. You're woozy. And so there were concussion like syndrome and that they were concussion like symptoms because when I saw it on TV, I went Oh my God. He just got his head planted. And when he got up to go, no, he can't play And I think because they're overly cautious about this type of thing now and maybe rightfully so. That's why I had to go through such a strict protocol cause hey, is the face of this is the face of the NFL. We can't have this guy going out there and even though he plays a tough sport that definitely he's been dinged up in. We can't have him going right back out there like this in front of God and everybody on national television, So I think it's a different type of Of a fear of that, but the foot injury and slowing him down. He was hobbled in that game before he went out of that game. He was hobbled in that game against Cleveland. I think that's gonna be something you have to look at, just because he's good with his feet. I think he's actually underrated with his feet, but his arm is still His arm is still one of the best in the business. I think it's gonna be very, very hard for Buffalo. It's hard for me to pick against Patrick Mahomes in this moment time. Go ahead. I still think the psychological problems of you know everything that surrounds concussions, injuries to your head. Maybe that little 1/100 of a second that you have to wait for a guy to get open in the pocket. Subconsciously your body says better not take that risk may be scrambling out at pocket luncheon for that extra yard to get the first down. I just think there's so much going through a person said, especially young football player. After the first time they suffer such a traumatic injury like that. And maybe if the medical science says this isn't a concussion, I think the brain up there is saying Oh, cap better be careful because these things can affect me negatively the rest of my life, and I'm completely wrong. No. Well, I wish I honestly Tom, There's there is a part of me and I got I gotta let you go now, because I do want to get the Brian in Wisconsin. There was a part of me that wanted to kind of blow you off. But then there was like, Well, wait a minute, Cam Newton made a business decision. Unr office worker made a business decision on the opening play of the game with wild card game against the Browns a couple of weeks ago. Guys make business decisions, they do it. Plenty of defensive Earl Thomas made one against Derrick Henry famously last year they make him If I don't think he's the type of guy who would I don't assume maybe, I don't know. Can't set Can't say it now. I was questioning why he was running in that moment. Going, But just going team versus team. I think Buffalo What concerned me.

I can still see it. So there we were last night, and there was no skinny fake Kolski basket. Yeah, really Thought about you, though. "When you look at Baltimore, assuming Baltimore takes down the Bangles, and then they will get into the postseason. How dangerous is an 11 and five Ravens team enter in the playoffs. The Ravens are hitting their stride, right, You know, we know Lamar Jackson is a phenomenal competitors. He's going to give them every chance to win, and even though they want a division title Each of the last two years. They did not win it This year. They go in as a wild card team, not winning nearly as many games as they did a year ago when they want 14. If they can win this week against the Bangles, that'll be their 11 year, but they're going in as a wild card team. I would say they're better prepared to avoid the one and done scenario, something they were not able to do it the last two years, so I think they're going deeper into the postseason. That's scary for everyone else in the A. F. C. So you have Kansas City Buffalo 12 as the two best teams in the NFC on paper. Do you have the Ravens at three years of someone else? Well until they beat Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm not gonna put him ahead of Pittsburgh. No good first stagger through it. Three, lost three in a row. They got above the canvas in the second half last week against a really good coach team. But I thought in that game, they checked all the boxes except for their running game. They still have not only rust or 100. Plus yard that team only once in their last 10 games. They could not run the ball there clearly one dimensional but of that dimension. Kind of like the chief. They could throw it and throw it very well. And they're gonna force you to have to defend a lot of guys and they've been get clicking. I think he showed his last week as they came from behind a 17 point deficit. He can throw a deep he could get a deep so So Pittsburgh beat the Ravens twice this year. I'm not gonna sit here and say the Ravens are better than Pittsburgh until they prove it. Is it more likely in your opinion that the Steelers lose in the first round wild card weekend? Or they get to the NFC title game? What he thinks more likely. Well, you still have the wild card the ground. You got the divisional round. Then you've got that final. Um Championship round the AOC So that's what happened to these wild card teams have to play three before they ever get to the Super Bowl, so no, they could win. They can lose. Excuse me and the walking around they could lose in the division. They get them. They are flawed. Enoughto lose in any round back. I mean, anyway, but they're good enough right to go as far even to the Super Bowl that this defense was phenomenal. No, I'm not downgrading Pittsburgh like everyone else. I recognized their flaws. I recognize they were entire team physically mentally not having that by and Having to go through the multiple schedule changes, and that's where they begin to hit a low they ran into what we call a crisis of confidence. Gate. They got off the campus like a real camp. Facing the 17 point deficit against a really good coach team, and they landed a knockout blow. So no, I'm not down on Pittsburgh, like some of the other people are. I recognize that you don't get A championship around as a team unless you can go through some moment of adversity and they went through there. I think the chief's went through a moment of having to look in the mirror after their loss, too. The radar. I wasn't questioning that. Um, you know, rarely are you gonna go 16 and also? No. I feel good about Pittsburgh. But I do put those other two teams that put Kansas City in and buffalo ahead of them. So from what it sounds like he's wrapping up a Solomon Wilcots right now. We already know Chief sir in Steel is there in Bill's Aaron? I don't know who you like to win the F C South, but it also does appear that you're putting the Browns And the Ravens in the playoffs. So how do you see the F C South shaping out who gets the final wild card spot in the A. F. C. Well, there's four spot available, right? I think the dolphins. They're going to get in. Okay? No, no, no. Now I was really convinced when rising, faster, good card player, But now, you know, but I think the Dolphins will get in. The team. I really question And here's why, after that passionate speech Bye Bye, J. J Watt. Detectives. They're going to show up. Tightened up. Go on the road they have. They're not Benton. Anyone for Houston? They're not letting anybody they gotta go through the Shawn Watson. No one's talking about that They have all the four teams and FC trying to get into the playoffs. The Titans while they're one of the best teams have to go through an even better team than everyone else because the Houston Texans are sitting anyone and JJ Watt has his team. Pit stop and the pride is coming out so I could see the Titans losing that game. If they lose the coach win the culture in And I think, if the other guys when they're all in, so how about that scenario, So you think there's a good chance that Tennessee could be on the outside looking in? If they lose the Houston and the coach win. I think that I think that's a more likely scenario than the Browns losing than the Dolphins, losing against teams that are playing anyone, right? And it in Baltimore, losing to Cincinnati. I don't you think the coach is gonna lose to the Jaguar E? No. Go down that look at all. So you got five teams playing for four spot. The toughest team out there. The toughest path is the Titans beating the taxes and no one's talking about back like that's just a walk in And I'm not agreeing with that. What do you think happens? Final two spots in the NFC personally. Solomon Wilcots. I think the Cardinals beat the Rams with all the Rams injury, even though the Cardinals just lost too. Beth third last week. So the Cardinals get in and then I think the bears lose to the Packers to the Rams. Also getting you have ramps partner with 100% with you on that, and I don't and I don't see Washington losing To the Eagles. However, there's no out if there's no Alex Smith and that's up in that's up in the air. And then then Dallas get end up sneaking in..

Ravens Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Steelers NFC Titans Baltimore Solomon Wilcots Dolphins Kansas City Houston Cardinals J. J Watt F C South Rams Lamar Jackson Shawn Watson Houston Texans Tennessee Browns
