"Russia's military demanded the British warship HMCS defender changed its course or it would be fired upon According to the Russians. This took the form of a series of warning shots at the Royal Navy vessel. We hate to mess defender was sailing from Odessa in southern Ukraine to Georgia, and to get there it passed south of the Crimea peninsula, which Russia annexed from Ukraine back in 2014. That was a move that has been recognized internationally. Well, the BBC's defence correspondent Jonathan Bill is onboard the HMCS defender and witnessed yesterday's events. So, Jonathan morning to you tell us Exactly what's happened yesterday. What? You what you saw and heard. Yes, I'd say it was good morning. First of all, a deliberate move by the Royal Navy ship. Hmm. Defender. Two transits close to The southern tip of Crimea. And and it did mean that for a while for just over an hour they were within Crimea territorial waters, In other words, within 12 miles of the case, which we could clearly see, and as we approached Crimea. The activity of Russian vessels increase the Russian activity of in the air also increased at one time, I think overall during the day they counted 40 Russian military aircraft. In the air, some of them doing very low passes by by the ship. One of the coast Guard vessels that was shadowing came in very close within 100 M and try to force Hmm. Defender To change course. There were radio messages throughout with the Russians warning the British warship not to enter what they said was Russian territorial waters, and in return the British warships saying quite clearly that they were traveling. Recognized international transit routes under maritime law that they were obeying that the laws of the sea. Um and this went back and forth until the Russians then threatened to fire. Now there were shots, but there were they. They were along quite some way away. They were well without that as a range of the British destroyer and even as we went back into international waters. It was still being shadowed Russian aircraft still flying low. He has now calmed down quite a lot because we have mood now. Towards Georgia. The Ministry of Defense of the UK says this was A routine transit. I don't think it was. You know, this was unusual in the sense that this was a deliberate decision to go into, Um, admittedly an international shipping lane. True territorial waters and Jonathan, according to the Russians. Even the Russian ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin this morning has said that the warship went deep. He said that they went about three kilometers into the territorial waters. And as you said, said, This is a direct provocation. But tell us about this issue of the firing shots because, according to the Russians, they said. They definitely shot warning shots to H. M s defended to warn them off. But the M O D has said that this was just a planned military exercise. Yeah, So the truth is that the Russians have closed off the area, and I think that's partly to ensure that Western metal warships don't go through close to the in the shipping lanes that go through there. The territorial waters of Crimea. The military exercises. Military exercises have been taking place in this area now to suggest that the The coast Guard vessels were firing direct shots that you know in near the vicinity of teacher Miss Defend, I think is is not what I saw or witness or heard. Those shots were some We could hear them and there were a number of volleys. There was some way away and there's also a suggestion from the Russians that they dropped. Similar aircraft dropped warning bombs again. We saw no evidence of that They did fly very low. There are buzzing the British warship for some time, but we did not see any of them drop their weapons and none of them were I identified on this ship. To have dropped weapons, So I think you know you've got to be remember. This is also an information war that's going on between the UK and Russia. Indeed, Jonathan and we know this diplomatic well, it's going to continue among these conflicting claims. But thanks very much. Jonathan Bill, who is our defence correspondent on board, the H. M s. Defender, usually on the BBC World Service bowler James and Isaac, who has the sports here was a thrilling evening in the European Championships in Group F. It was carnage Hungary or out than they were in Germany were in. Then they were out Portugal in then they were out, You get the point. It was a topsy turvy evening, but a late equaliser from Germany's Leon Goretzka against Hungary meant Portugal, France and Germany go through. In that group in the basketball. The Atlanta Hawks went to Milwaukee and upset the box in Game one of the NBA Eastern Conference finals Hopes God Trae Young scored a playoff hot career high 48 points. 116 1 13 is how it finished that best of seven series in ice hockey. Let's have some business news now in the UK central bank do to make a decision on interest rates later today to tell us more is Andrew Wood, who's on our business desk in Hong Kong. The Bank of England has cut interest rates last year to its lowest level level since the bank was founded in 16 94. That's to keep the economy going during the pandemic, but sooner or later The bank's gonna have to put a dab on the brakes and raise interest rates. If inflation looks like it's getting out of control now, Kallen Pickering, a senior economist at Baron Bank in London, is on the line Now. Good morning. Do you think we're going to see a rise in interest rates today? It's unlikely that we'll see a rising interest rates today. But what we might see from the Bank of England is a slight change of tune when it comes to its asset purchases. And in addition to lowering the bank rate, that's that the traditional interest rate that the Bank of England uses. The Bank of England has, in addition been buying lots of government bonds, which lowers interest rates in financial markets. So what the Bank of England not just the equivalent of printing money, though the government issues bonds The bank buys them so that the government gets lots of money that comes from nowhere. That's an old fashioned way of looking at it. Private banks create money just as the central bank creates money every time a private loan is issued. That creates new money in a modern theater system. The but the Bank of England is planning to buy these bonds until the end of December. That may happen in August already, and we could get signal today. But that could happen. And the reason is the economy is doing better than expected seems to be the end of the year, and there's some increasing signs. Actually, the inflation is beating to the upside. It's coming in a bit stronger than anticipated. So the Bank of England may just want to take one FT. Off the accelerator at this point. Okay. Callan Pickering at Baron Bank, Berenberg Bank, thanks for joining us on Tuesday. Andrew. Thank you very much. Indeed. Let's go to Canada now where an indigenous group in Saskatchewan says hundreds of unmarked graves have been discovered at the site of a former residential school in the territory. You may recall. You know the finding. There's certainly a substantial body of evidence that is being um You know what is slowly coming into the light. And, um and yeah, and, uh Coming into the light. Yeah, I mean, what have we learned from, for example, the the case that was discovered a few weeks ago, the 200 plus bodies that were found Well, I can't. I can't speak to what we've learned..

"Sports radio affiliates. Serious sex, some channel 206. And of course you can listen on a smart speaker. So we got Rick Spielman coming up. This hour of the show. I'm obviously going to ask him about the Minnesota Vikings. He drafted Kallen Monde. You know, this just mean Kirk cousins is Is he done? No, I don't think so. Not at all. And this is gonna be interesting because year to year it's like the Minnesota Vikings. They just go up. They go down. They go up. They go down. They were seven and nine last year. Had one of the best offenses in the NFL. They gotta Justin Jefferson, who just broke all type of rookie receiving records. Would 1400 yards. Dalvin Cook at 1500 yards on the ground. Even Kirk cousins. If I told you Kirk cousins threw for 4200 yards and 35 touchdowns Threw the ball away. 13 sounds you will go all. Yeah. Minnesota Vikings had a hell of a year. But they were sub 500 the year before that they had a winning record The year before that they were mediocre. It's just It's just like they can't move ahead. Like the Minnesota Vikings under Zimmer under under Spielman, HS. Go up they go down. They go up, they go down. But this year They gotta do something this year. They gotta break out this year. The Minnesota Vikings legitimately have no more excuses US. Especially With all of the uncertainty with Aaron Rodgers in the division, and that's the NFC North. But a matter of fact, you know Brett Farve. He's been known to say some ridiculous things over the past several years and retirement. Maybe all of the concussions are catching up to him. But he was on the bowling with far podcast his own gig, and he basically said when it relates to his former teammate Aaron Rodgers. You made it clear. He doesn't think our and Rogers is fooling around with his future. Listen, no one there and I think I know him fairly well. If he has a grudge, whether be against organization or a player or annoy archrival are family friends, he budget I don't see him coming back, and it's insane. If this is not resolved, however, whatever the issue is, if it's not resolved, or even if it's resolved, but he feels like they got one up on him even play knowing Aaron, he would he would sit Okay. I mean, we've heard we've heard quite a few people go. Oh, well, Aaron Rodgers. He's not giving up that money. We've also heard the opposite from Brett Farve. Unfortunately. Aaron Rodgers. His personal life is has been plastered. You know, all over everywhere over the past several years, his relationship non relationship with his family. I'm just aka care less, but We've heard it. We've seen it. We've seen it here just professionally. So I'm not so sure. Do. I think Aaron Rodgers is gonna Just retire and disappear. No, I don't. I think it's more likely that he ends up on another team. I think that is is more likely to happen than him just walking away and also giving back money giving his bonuses which would amount I believed to two more than 20,000,020 to $40 million between that this contract, just Here. The Green Bay Packers. I don't see it happening. So this is an opening right now. For the Minnesota Vikings to get their lives to get their act together. You want to know why Because the NFC North If they are going to be in a rebuilding situation and by they I'm referring to the Green Bay Packers. Man. It should be between the Bears and and the Vikings. It really should. You know, we don't know what the Packers would get back, and this is some real forward thinking. If Aaron Rodgers is gone. Do you realistically believe that? Just we'll see Jordan love running around. He hasn't taken a snap and an NFL game. From reports he hasn't looked all good and practice. What the hell is that going to translate to in an NFL game besides an ass kicking But there's a lot that has to take place. There's some question marks here. But the Minnesota Vikings, they've already improved on their defense. You would hope you would expect you would think Giniel Hunter will be returning defense event. I'm going to ask Rick Spielman about that. The last we heard last year before we even had his neck injury, wanted some money. Patrick Peterson. It's going to be odd seeing him run around, not in a cardinal's uniforms, but actually for the Vikings. It's gonna be an interesting year. From Minnesota. The offense. Can stand to improve, but the defense needs to do all hell of a lot of work. And I don't think people were You know, all that put at ease. Kirk Cousins probably was not put it ease. When they selected Kellen Monde. With their second pick out of the third round from Texas and M. So car cousins who got a two year extension last year who's under contract on Lee through the end of next year. Her cousins. He gotta be thinking like, damn it. Is my time up. Rick Spielman. I don't necessarily have to ask him about this because he answered it already. He basically said that Kirk is our guy. Take a listen. No, There's a lot of rumors floating around out out there. But Kirk Cousins is our quarterback. We felt that he played very well. Probably The best he's ever played down that stretch last year in the way he played so well. Yeah. Kirk Kirk Star quarterback, corn forward. Okay. Kirk. Is the quarterback going forward? All right. That's fine. It wouldn't surprise me because it happens every year. Kirk cousins outside of just looking totally lost that times. He puts up good numbers. It seemed, doesn't go anywhere. They're either.

Patrick Peterson Dalvin Cook Rick Spielman Aaron Rodgers Brett Farve Jordan Minnesota Vikings Giniel Hunter Kirk Cousins Rogers Aaron Green Bay Packers 4200 yards Justin Jefferson 35 touchdowns 1400 yards 1500 yards two year $40 million Vikings

P. eight got rid of all your your phone is your phone is really kind of funky if you can stay in one place I don't know there's a lot of better now phone yeah my do better sorry about that yes so you know the the you know the ETA just got rid of all the protective regulations because of you know she whirled in a coronavirus world and this is happening you know what's what's happening and some of what we're seeing in some of them were not I think a lot of it we're not going to see this is all kinds of experts exploitation of this horrible situation that we're there are a lot of companies in a lot of powerful people who are taking advantage of it and they're making a fortune I mean look there were a couple of senators they got briefings and they sold were they pour millions of dollars in stock and they make billions of dollars in profits because they had advance notice and that shouldn't be and you know I go to a dollar store and there's a four dollar a box of twenty wipes it out I mean that's that's just ripping people off it's taking advantage of that's price gouging and that shouldn't be happening and if I were dollars yet is that small is a sign you know if it's really happening and laced with but one thing that they get they they came up with three trillion dollars to to make things work they're going to come up with the five hundred billion more and what the fed is coming up with at least four trillion dollars you know what that tells us that anytime a politician tells us that we can afford something like paying off college students tuition or providing health care to everybody it's the total huge white if they want to come up with the money they can yes yes I just also want to say that we right now have to look at home there's so much hope and I want to go back to the fact that we as Americans are resilient and we will survive this and this morning there's a new song I I believe we can and I think that bulldog just just put it out and I think that we have to go back to the American spirit we have to go back to that resilient spirit that might my late aunt had with it with an attitude of gratitude with digging in and helping each other whether it be wearing your mask in protecting yourself in stores and wearing your gloves whatever it is that you have to do but to be responsible and take your part and not and that's what I have hope that we're all doing and I wanted to say that these doctors and nurses and health care practitioners are doing an extraordinary job people that are in the supermarkets keeping us giving us the foods that we need so that we can go to the supermarket and working for minimum wage are doing heroic jobs and so what we need to take our I thank I know me too yeah Hey rob give us your route website and all the goodies about you thank you so much we'll be back in a moment but go ahead and give us everything.

and the book is really a fabulous read Craig Newmark founder of Craigslist writes the bottom operate illusion is feeling tremendous change in politics commerce and how people relate to each other rob's book part of my provides a powerful guy Chu how organizations can understand and top bottom up power you're on to something rob there's no doubt about it and welcome back at before it went to break you rich you were talking about the the heroes journey and I had used Bernie Siegel doctor Bernie Siegel example of of putting all of these women with breast cancer to gather now nothing changed in their treatment this was not alternative medicine and yet the majority of the women lived longer because of their connective itty because they had a purpose because I had a place to go every week because they had similar people sharing stories that were never shared in public or out of the home before we humans and primates and mammals we always off to be connected to each other to be in close contact with each other what's sad is that civilization which has been amazing in all the technological innovations that it's brought in our ability to make big projects happen it's separated us it's isolated us and it's created boundaries that we have to work a little extra hard to overcome we need to connect with each other and we need to we consciously and that's the difference in and when people connect they heal more quickly and better and it went and part of the process of growing up changing is is a process of connecting in new ways with your world with the people around you with the organizations with the technology I know you know you you you got a business so there's there's a new way that business does sales Mallon's cold the buyers or the customer's journey and there is a kind of an overlap with the hero's journey because what's changed is that is this your business and you want to have customers especially you've got more expensive products or services then it it's not like you just put up a brochure and people Hey I do their name and you give them information and then take an order from them it doesn't work that way anymore people go out and they do research they think Google they search it it happens even on small purchases to I mean so many people something like eighty five percent of people now they go to a store they're going to Google what check Amazon for work for somewhere to see what the prices online to see if the price of the store is compatible and so what's happened with the buyer's journey is now people discover that they want to get something you know might be SO four or get the place painted or a new air conditioning system whatever or vacation they're going to research it they're going to go on line and they're going to log in some search terms and if you're in that business you want to be on the other end of that search you want to be part of the search results and you want to be the the company that the person decides is worth interacting with the company that the person the potential customer decides is worth being worth trusting and that's how the customer's journey has really changed and it's not just find a customer sell them it's fine to Custer customer educate them build a relationship with them build trust with them then the customer decides you're worth trusting said they place an order with you and then it doesn't stop there you keep the relationship going you build that relationship you get service contracts you give discounts for referrals you get the customer to endorse you because indoor smiths are an essential part of products online I mean imagine going to Amazon and buying a product that you don't know that much about without looking at the reviews reviews right right until part of of doing this session essential part absolutely absolutely so what happens and then I'm probably asking you this as we're getting close to break but I I just if you can give me an an an answer what happens when a phenomenon occurs such as the women's March when they were expecting seven or eight thousand women to show up at Boston common and over a quarter of a million showed up and then it fizzles and nothing ever happens after that hello but you know you know one of the one of the people I interviewed who wrote a book about a merchants talked about the phenomenon of of change and she talked about bamboo bamboo you can water it for a couple years and nothing happens then all of a sudden it grows twenty three in two weeks changed around yeah yeah in a linear right away change can happen you never know you know Daniel Ellsberg decided to this he was going to release the Pentagon papers which had such a huge effect on the world because he can he listens to a talk by a guy who was a protester against war who is going to jail nobody remembers the name of that guy actually used in my book with his name but you never know small yeah you never know yeah small action you do will change the world and so you do what you can do this you know not change ever happened without one person deciding they were going to do something else maybe a million people decided along with them but you never know so trust your heart go with your your values and take action do something because if you don't do something nothing's going to happen so it's so important and connect with the world connect with people around you because that's the way you feed your soul that's the way you feed your heart that's the way you feed your brain because that's how you know Ralph the big I'm loving this conversation and it it really encourages anyone else here in music hi look at how music can be an equalizer connector the arts you know there is just it just goes on and on and on rob well sing with someone else sing in a choir sing along with other people sing it sing a church or synagogue it's it's yeah singing is such a powerful thing especially when it's done with other people there's "It was just so good with the way you're doing when she's pushing the buttons and then trapped towards the couch for instance Fisher that was just super fund and ridiculous and I loved it but the bad guys reveal is appropriately like we need to save the world important and significant end horrifying and the good and also. There's No way other people haven't tried that in the meanwhile while and failed. Yeah but like it's real. It's a really good twist of what's their evil plan. Their evil plan is to make themselves into Doctor Manhattan. Dan and they figure out how to do it so that I like that as a concept. Don't need him here for that but again shades needs of appreciation. Okay Yeah for me. It really really works and I'm assuming that there's the he needs to be here for that so that they can use him in the procedure. Whatever it is I also like yeah. Revealing feeling that that Francis Fisher was ended. The whole time Kenya who he knew is evil but like has larger even reach region man of that then we would have expected all of that was just so well handled his evil dirtbag. Racist Dude speech was great as with gene smarts. Like you know reactions as Laura when she's it's just it's too hard out there for a white man nowadays. I can't even usually. You're gonNA just kill me. I'm not even going to pretend to not laughing you about that. It's just delightful so so yeah for me. There was a lot in this episode that I really enjoyed and we haven't even tipped you like gotten to like the main bulk of the episode. which is this is actually our Angela episode? We find out what her life wasn't in or at least what formative part of it was and like the reveal of sister night being like like like Blaxploitation tation just being like shaft. Basically he is awesome and I love it. Yeah no I think the Angela. LS stuff is really really good. And I like how. It's sort of like allows for there to be lies within the episode of now Tulsa just had a job opening. It's like Now you heard about Tulsa from your grandmother who died of a heart attack in front of you just like your parents On in an explosion. So it's just like all of this is terrible And you also met Kallen Kallen Vietnam so wait winning so all kinds of stuff like how all of this gets layered and how she liked lies. All the sooners. All that kind of catching up in a way I really really appreciated that. And so I think that the episodes generally really good on that front See the thing I want to talk about. What is just the elephant? Yes it's so good. Yeah like I kinda can't deal with how good of choice that is but I just. I think that there's really things with like memory happening across all of these episodes. Obviously but the way in which now. We're just going to have an elephant be the cure for for that news delightful But I think that yeah so that but yeah the rest of the really good like the basics of that kind of origin origin story both from the police level but also from now Angeles kind of just like her very very very long time and I think that the way which were sort of contextualising her works really well which is why like. I'm sort of withholding larger thoughts about like the Manhattan reveal until the next episode. When we see all that kind of play out and when we get to see Damon Lindelof go full Damon? Lindelof the romantic hopefully Yeah no we did that. Great dance in leftovers. We're going to do something really good here guys from you all like Desmond and Penny Sawyer and Juliet La. Aw wait wait. I've got more. Yeah speaking of the Elephant. Did you notice that the true pharmaceuticals logos and elephant. I did after this. Yeah Yeah I was supposed to be talking about. I was like Oh you're right. That's awesome and it was such a fun and and good reveal. I liked that The reveal of the mother that she was creating and the very messed up ethics of that Yeah Yeah It's just absolutely delightful. What I'm calling now my theory for right now is that the scenes with India's happened or happening in a separate timeline and that he's gap inside the statue? Oh that makes complete and total utter sense to me and I also think he might be lady. Truce Dad Oh oh that also makes complete and total sense to me as well so she says like am. I fought my want my mother and my father to be here. No that's my yeah I mean it's either it's either the OSCE or it's you know it's William there's like there aren't many other options available it would also explain. Why is she part of why? She's such a genius that she like graduated with all the you know like doctorates and everything at age. Twenty one bob. I made when she was in her twenties. Or whatever it was Yeah yeah so I think like the way they see he'd cutting back to that statue of an elderly as amandas. The the stuff within with that character has just been So absurd completely unrelated well and win like his response is just along Fart. The timing of some of the stuff that's been happening on watchmen with a like elements in our political. Life has been hilarious so having that the week week after far gate on MSNBC or whatever was just absolutely hilarious to me and not to mention this quid. Pro Quo Uh so so yeah. I look forward to what's coming next. I kind of need the Osmania stuff though to connect in a more meaningful way to what's happening next at least semantically addict and I don't think we're there yet. No we're not but I mean it's two episodes. This group of folks demonstrated that they can pull off just about. I have no doubts. I'm sure that's coming. Any final thoughts on watchmen or what you're hoping for in the next No I think like the. Yeah well I think the big thing that I'm interested in is like the actor who plays cal is playing manhat- oh cool. Yeah which I think is really I think I think that's what they're doing. I'm pretty sure that's what they're doing. Though I did tell my partner I hope to God. It's billy crop but I know I think they I think they tasked him to play Manhattan And so I think there will be hopefully interesting things to that. The show will have to say about them than being some cavalry getting their power off a black man basically and where that kind of ties into like large discussions that the show you has deeply invested in having But again like I need to see the next episode and I think that's going to help decontextualize larger responses awesome to some of the stuff in last week's episode as well Yeah Dr Manhattan his most recently For the tyrod of this show Ben Black but of course he was born Jewish And so yeah all of that. Intersecting being with white SUPREMACISTS YUP GONNA be interesting. Certainly so we'll see what happens next. I'm like what a way to end you. You know like they've got to episodes left in. I also noticed people talking about how this mirrors the structure of the comic. Where it's like you know your three quarters of the way through the story when they reveal their your master plan and then you also find out that it already happened you know so like this is very much very similar to that like you think you're watching the show and then they were real? Oh no this whole time. It's actually actually been something else. And they reveal that not just the baddies but with the goodies to and yeah. I'm I've just been so wonderfully surprised. And pleasantly surprised by watchmen in this year because as we talked about earlier it was not on my radar. So yeah really looking forward to the next episode Okay what does your.

"And this guy has got explosive potential that I think this coaching staff gonna utilize more Walton broke free of a frigging tasers. Do you know the cups try to this guy, and he ripped it off and just kept running? I mean those, those are the kind of guys you give carries to regardless of who your star is. So as much as I love Kenyan Drake as much as I think he is the best running back on the roster. There's going to be other mouths to feed. And I think this coaching staff has shown assuming that they're bringing that New England style offense which we all think they are that same metality and you just look around the NFL. I mean every. Every team is doing this. You know, maybe Zeke Elliott is the is the, you know, the unicorn of the bunch maybe sa- Kwame Barkley, but most teams are feeding multiple runningback. So it's going to happen. It's bound to happen. But when you put Kalem Balaj verse Kenny Kenyan Drake, it's going to Kenyan Drake every time for me. Yep. Absolutely. Anything else before the show. No, man. I just wanna say something hope he better. Yeah. Only make things at pro football network. We're going to send a fruit basket. I gotta give shout the pro football network. A big things are coming, but for all your mind. Dolphins coverage keep it here at the Finsider. Keep listening to us at finsihed radio because, you know, the Miami Dolphins may not be a, you know, all these analysts are sitting it's the worst team in football. I don't see that. I think you got these guys with TOA as their as our Twitter. Abby, that's not gonna happen guys. I don't care if it's Ryan Patrick, Josh Rosen, we can get over this tank stuff. Look at those other quarterbacks in the first round if you want a quarterback because you're not getting the first pick, no matter how bad is team is the Cincinnati Bengals are worse. The New York Giants are worse. There's other teams that are worse in the Miami doll. Enjoy the season. You know, don't sit there and root for losses. Hope the Josh Rosen guy because like you said, there's a treasure trove of picks next year hundred twenty plus million dollars cap space to two picks in the second third fourth and fifth round. I mean, why would you not want Josh Rosen to be that starting quarterback so you can use those picks to build around and be a real contender twenty twenty? It just doesn't make sense to me. Enjoy football. Enjoy the off season. Honestly, because in couple months, we're going to be very angry very sad and go.

"I don't think that's what's best for him. But I mean Kenyon, Drake average seven and a half touch carries last year as a running back. Yes, he made plays in the receiving game you know, he is a pass catcher out of the backfield. I think he does that a lot better than Balaj. But there's no reason why both these guys can't get their their do next season or this coming season but I think Kenyan Drake. I mean you owe to him. I mean yes is New England style offense. Yes, we know what they do up there, you know, Sony, Michelle James white Rex Burkhead, you know, the list goes on and on. They, they give their they make they find ways to get the ball in those guys hands. But Sony, Michelle had a heck of a lot of touches towards the end of the year. You know he was that Bill cow. And there's no reason why Kenyan Drake can't get fifteen plus carries and five or six receptions every game. And I think that's in this coaching staffs best interest in offers dome. It sounds I mean who were the two jerseys at this team leaked. They showed the showed everyone white throwbacks got everyone's super excited. There were two jerseys leaked one was making its Patrick who was. You know, hands down the future of this defense, you know, I think he can be better than existing Howard there. There's another hot take. I think he's going to be the best player on this defense for many, many years. And, you know, they sent they showed history that was the first one you get who is the other one Kenyan Drake. You see their official Twitter account. You know, tweet out Kenyan Drake stuff, you know, he went out there and said, I don't care how many carries I get as long as the team gets wins, is what you wanna hear from your franchise running back. I mean I know he's coming up on a new contract. I know running backs do not get a now a days, but this isn't a good seems to be Jj I who thinks he's worth top five running back money just to have his bone on bone knee explode. So, I think Kenyan Drake deserves touches personally. I'm gonna stay away from fantasy football in a mistake from all these running backs again. If you're fancy football avoid the dolphins backfield like the plague, but I do think Kenyan Drake has that potential to be three down running back, but you don't need him to be. Because again, you got Kaylynn Balaj, yum, more won't possibly. No, you got Kenneth Farrow. You got miles Gaskin you got these other guys that can get touches? But I think. Drake should be the focal point of that running back room and anyone thinks Kaelin Balaj, a better running back because, you know, he came out the of OTA's with his shirt sleeves rolled up and you saw some Danes in his arms. I mean that's just dumb. I I don't think he's the dolphins halfback one, I think that's I think that's Kenyan Drake. And I think he deserves his load this season. I feel like the dolphins back goes going to be just like the patriots backfield. You never know who's wing at the ball, win and ino in the patriots backfield's. Yes. Sunny Michelle was kind of the lead back. But really, they spread it out a lot. And I do believe that Kenyan Drake. And Caitlyn Balaj will both get their fair share carries? Very rarely do in the NFL these days a one running back show. Right. There are very few exceptions to that rule. Mult many of them go to the two running back. So for me. This is a non non conversation by Disney to address it. So it was a hot topic mongo's dolphins Twitter when you say. Starting running back. It doesn't mean anything to me. That's just me. Yeah. Even in years past. We did not have this New England coaching staff who has, you know, history shows that that's the way they feed their running backs. I mean, we haven't had that, and they still done the same thing. Frank gorse corpse got how many he got a bulk of the carries last year? He was the, the dolphins number one running back when you look at the carries but statistically know yet one touchdown to Kennedy Drake's. What nine I just don't see why they won't spread it out when they have that many mouths that, can I mean, miles gas needs a seventh-round pick?.

"I mean you got other weapons out they got Kenny stills you can take the top off defenses. You've got those, those quick twitchy receivers underneath, like Albert Wilson keen, drain. You got these guys make plays underneath why can't devante Parker and single coverage on the outside up there. Make plays. I mean, again Adam gates offense. I don't think that should be an outlier for what Demonte Parker is. I think he still has potential and I'll say now. Okay. He can be the Miami Dolphins Mike Evans. I'm gonna kill for that. But, but. Yeah. Why not get killed for that because he no or close to my? Evans. Yet, does he have the potential. Maybe the dolphin used using the right way. I'm hoping that Chatto shea. We know Adam gates that like to have a number one race neither to Joe Philbin really odd you like to spread the ball around and I feel like you look at some of the best offenses in the league, they have that primary guy, they can go to in crunch time. Right. They have that guy, they can lean on count on when they need it the most and the dolphins have never had that. And maybe Parker can be that guy. Maybe he can be that guy if he has featured in the office as often as such and has the confidence to go out and do what he needs to do. We'll see. We'll see what happens this coming season. He's in a contract year, which also makes you a little hesitant and one. You know, you, you wanna see those guys before, not in a contract year because their motivation could slowly be money than they get their big contract. And they just go back to being the way they used to be we'll see though, what we don't know also and what we need to see is, who is going to be throwing the ball to devante Parker. Is it going to be Ryan Fitzpatrick? And if so, I think they're going to ball out this year, those two or is it going to be Josh Rosen, a guy who is, you know, has a nice deep ball. But more is that possession kind of guide type quarterback where he's throwing it to the receiver, by the way. I've had discussions over the past week about how to say quarterback and here we go quarterback that I say it, right. Can you do over time? I need to I need to hear it quarterback damn you got it. I got it. You can say quarterback you can finally say quarterback is an amazing day starts radio. I'm going to start saying quarterback just piss everyone off because someone should I'm going. Oh, no more. No more quarterback from me. It's quarterback. We got this fam-. Okay. Took you what thirty some years, proud suck me. Thirty two hold of my thirty two thirty three on. You know how old I am. I was born in eighty six. So let me take out my calculator. Twenty nineteen minus nineteen eighty six and three. I think holy oaths got over. It makes you feel good. I'm gonna be thirty three in September. I am old f that's not that old now. It's not that old but. Yeah. If you're in the NFL, you be old shit ready to retire right now my Kirby over. Yeah. So Josh Rosen he's more of a guy who likes throw it in the middle of the field. So I don't know if he's going to be the best quarterback for devante Parker. He might be, but I think it's Patrick will be better but even this whole quarterback competition right now, right? It's getting all the ones in OT as and stuff..

"And he's on his deathbed that deathbed. He's pride may have more kids with his wife getting pregnant or something. Price scheduled it on the calendar 'cause her ovaries or whatever populating, they held hands. And now. All right. The dolphins are wrapping up another OT session, and we're going to kick things off by talking about one of the greatest dolphins. Players of all time. One of the most sensational. Dolphins players of all time. One player who is always in the news when it when it comes to this and guy, that's always stealing the headlines and the highlight reel. And that is not devante Parker. And yes, all that I said is true, but with the caveat when it's time for OTA's because we all know over the past four, five years. Devante Parker has been the absolute star of OTA's, if they had a ring of honor for OT as devante Parker would be in its if they had a walk of fame for OT as devante Parker would be in it, if they have hall of fame for OTA's. Devante Parker would be a first ballot hall of Famer the problem is though as we all know as don't count in the regular season. And every year all of us say. Say is this, the year for devante Parker is this year, he finally breaks free and then the regular season begins and he's either injured? He's not getting the ball, he's not doing things to right way. What gives out Sino? You've been a big fan of devante Parker through this ta. TA miniseries that we've had the past few weeks. What are your thoughts on the man, the myth, the legend, and devante Parker? Yeah. Just throw it out there. I'm once midday fantasy trade in a standard keeper league I traded the hundred Hopkins. Arguably the best receiver in the NFL for devante Parker and Joe mixing end. Yes. It's a standard league. So I mean Joe mixing for Hopkins might not be terrible. But devante Parker is never lived up to his hype. Like you said he's always been his guy than not as east showing up. He's looking like the number one wide receiver in the games. Come on. And, you know, he has a lingering hamstring injury or stub this toe, and he wants to watch SpongeBob. Whatever may be. But this year does seem different. I mean he went out there after son is new contract. A lot of people didn't think he was going to get that opportunity here Miami. A lot of people don't want him to get that opportunity here Miami. But again, this is a guy who has all the potential had all the potential in college to be a true. Number one wide receiver you're starting to see these flashes during t- otas again. Yes, he's in shorts, but I mean that back shoulder one handed you try to grab one hand. They did the tote tap. I mean that that's what you wanna see. On game day was toe-tapping. You have to admit he was out amounts. I don't know. Did you did you see the comments because someone actually took a still frame in? Yes. Someone took a still frame it look. A lot of people were. Oh, yeah. He was out. Someone took a still frame. It looked like both feet reggae. Okay. I'm not going to pretend to be referee. But I mean that's the kind of stuff you wanna see on game day the dolphins desperately need a number one wide receiver. So if now's the time from to come on, I think we'd all be happy, but we need to temper expectations because again, they're in shorts. It's only the second week of OT as in and we've seen this before from devante Parker. Now, devante Parker has struggled, obviously, over the past few years since coming into the league as a first round pick selected by MAG Tannenbaum when he took over his basically, general manager devante Parker since the year twenty fifteen when he came to the NFL has not had aid receiving yardage season of over seven hundred forty four yards. That was in twenty sixteen when he played in fifteen games twenty fifteen played in fourteen games. 2017 played thirteen games. Twenty eighth and played in eleven games. Now, when you look at that dough like he has a sigma for being injured. But really is that much different than any other player in the NFL? Right. I mean twenty fifteen is rookie or fourteen games..

"kallen" Discussed on Championship Drive

"For this university. And for his team this championship, his Jalen hurts, a young man from channel view, Texas who has come off the bench and as a game lead the crimson tide to an appearance in the national championship playoffs. What's up all game? What's up all game? Yeah. Of course, that's the one and only gold from the crimson tide sports network. My memory of that game is is the interview on the field afterwards with Jalen when the cameras went to him. And they thought he was going to say I'm going to DisneyWorld and he said, I'm going to Maryland. No, I'm going to let we actually don't know where Joe and hurts us going yet. But I just love that game for the the drama and the comeback in the the the crazy fake punt callback, Kirby smart. There was just so much to it with so much at stake. Ceelo what was your best game? Okay. I have in mind was actually a basketball game. Believe this after Kallen Kallen rolls to his right kellyn stops. Fires back over the middle. Here's. Seventy four seventy two seven, oh tease. Here's your rivalry. What a game. I tell you. What if you? If you're an early to bed kind of guy. This was not sure game because it just went on forever. Just one turn. And twist after another. I know some people don't like the college overtime system. Excuse me. I've in my buddy Ivan would be included in that group. But it probably is too long for a game to go on guys, you know, the risk of injury. But just to sit there I I was actually on the road. Watching that game. And just sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time because you just kept it kept pulling you in all the different things that happened in that game. But that's one of those that you won't forget. And I guarantee you anybody in the stadium. Anybody on either side of the football field that night won't forget that game was the Texas sports network from learfield. And I you know, a basketball game would end with a two point play. I think it's only fair to point out. Ryan your best game. Yeah. Yeah. You guys are cracking me up with your basketball games. I got the basketball game, and it was actually at a basketball school. And I'm going to go back to the first couple of weeks of the season. Final score. Davidson ninety one Guilford college sixty one. And so I was not at this game. It was a game. That was a Senator don't have a highlight of this one listener sorry. Yeah. They exist. Josh too lazy? Plus a poor play by play guy. I think is still in traction would think so. But I so I was not at the game. I live in the Charlotte area. I'll have thirty minutes from Davidson that game was moved from Saturday to Thursday because of hurricanes, and I did go up to campus the Sunday after that game, and it has become here in Charlotte. Like what stock everyone claims there were there in the reality. Is there were about eight hundred people who were there. But it was it was the game that broke all of the NC double A offense of records. Although officially the double A will not allow that game to break those records because it was a cross division game. Fs Davidson is a non scholarship FCS program in Guilford college division to program, but both of those factories they actually division three in the deck up. I'm sorry. It's non it's non scholarship football. But because they. They are cross division teams. The NCAA finicky rule. Book will not give them credit for all the combined records that they broke. But the best part was I went up to campus on Sunday talk to the coach and quarterback from Davidson talked to guys at Guilford on the phone, and they had a very good attitude about it. But there was an oaktree of you know, several hundred years old had fallen because of the hurricane into the stadium. And when I got there the guys from the physical plan at Davidson had the chainsaw out..
