"Frame that since the ignorance happy. Oh by and that will help you to you. Know get try to change these habits to gals not bad relationship. Whatever it might be you know buddy up with somebody you know somebody up and you know the also you good advice is anyone that is toxic. This is the time to divorce yourself from toxic people. Whether it's on the phone even in your environment need to Kaleen. How the divorce yourself from that situation or you put a lot of energy into getting some support if you can them to cooperate so that you can have support to change the direction of the relationship. This is an opportunity right now to do that but I think for individuals 'cause I I it's funny I I think I read some came across something I was reading the other day and it the woman was dealing with. It was a question too I think to whoever wrote the article. But how do I deal with A toxic friend or Asil. I know exactly what it was. No I was listening to another podcast that I like to listen to. And they had a A guest on there. I think maybe with a psychologist psychology background in one of the guests on the show said you know will tell me. How do I deal with people? Who are just assholes right now. Recall which is so funny that we're talking about that. We plan this conversation and I just had me And I didn't even hear whole pocket so I fell asleep when I woke up. This was the topic what they were talking about it. The time just me and the question was she said because I find that she says I find myself on the other hand people. I'm always trying to help the people that are assholes she says. How do I get out of bed? I think the woman said you know what you need to just say. No just take the call. Don't take the call separate yourself from those people were talking because bear impacting you now. And that's not even not like she's a professional coach or you know alive coach or psychologist or therapist She finds being compassionate to the people who are assholes and she's always giving that means. That assholes are takers. They're not givers takers so you yeah so you really sometimes just have to say no separate yourself not take that call being this woman. Sounds like she hasn't power. I need you have the power within you not to say to. You know Ease.

We had a big toys show, and that was really fun and less family time SaaS of old friends, and yeah that you can't can't beat. That was the show busy you Lexcen show at the fairground for old school twirls. It was it was a busy a good customer base. It was very busy on your feet. The entire time. Oh, yeah. You said up Saturday and Sunday was the official show, and it only goes from nine to three and. Yeah, the whole time it was busy jumping and the fame fee medically. This was a classic toys. Right. Lexus, your he man this actually, it was all toys. Oh, yeah. On my phone. That's what I thought too. But then I got and I was like, wow. This is great. They're diversifying which is necessary. Everybody wants to have the old rusty old, trucks and stuff, you know. Yeah. And lots of you know, we're not the youngest vendors there anymore, which what feels good blood come in through. Oh. Oh, yeah. We're ready. Well, that's nice though to see come in. Right. They're ready to buy. And so it's it's good all around. And love it. So good. My nephew was confirmed. So that was fun. And while I've been to a Catholic mass in a few years now and forgot how long they were. I'm surprised you made it here. I was surprised you made it to work on. They might still be worshiping. How long? It was an hour half. Oh boy. Boy, my mom would not go for that. Really? Specifically goes to churches, if they're sure. We'll be like today I'm going to Saint Elizabeth ANC because it's it's shorter. Get out of there. I'm like, okay. Yeah. Lots of standing up sitting down kneeling down at one point. We stood up for like, twelve minutes. Three. I was like what is this? Doubts like my wedding. Remember that lex right? Coline service. Dawn Kaleen was the officiant of my wedding. Yeah. And she forgot to have people sit down. Like five years. It's so funny. We still laugh about that Kaleen. She forgot to everybody said Dowd. So everyone remain standing the entire wedding. So anyway, it was quick that was not an hour and a half. No, no. We kept a quick. Well, that's good. No coming up a little bit later. If I know you five thirty friends have a life. But if you're gonna be with us all morning there was a little hitch in Alexis giddy up at car. We'll talk the party after a little little hitching her giddy up. So we'll we'll talk about that Donald your weekend. G you were you were kind of indoors a little bit during the youthful Saturday. I was I went to the Hennepin history museum, which is off of, you know, third avenue if you know where like electric fetuses around there. Where thirty five and ninety four kind of come together over in that area. I was there researching for my paranormal group twin cities paranormal society when we go to someone's house. We will go research the history of the property to see who owned the home from however long, you know, some of these homes in Minneapolis were built in like one hundred years ago. So it's really interesting, and yeah, we have a team member actually who is a historian and librarian. So she was teaching me how to look up all of those records, and it was just really interesting. It's a beautiful building. You know, it isn't the the library. It's a separate, you know, the history museum, so he pay a little bit to get in. But then you have access to all these old records. And once I got done with my research. I was there for about three hours. There is a book. It's basically the first phone will not film directory because it's before phones. Yeah. It's a directory. People who lived in Saint Anthony in Minneapolis when the eighteen fifty nine it's very first one. And it's just so neat to hold on your hands opened up. There's ads in their gift to wear gloves. No, you don't have to wear gloves. But you need to be very careful because it's like there's only one copy of this. Somebody donate it to the museum. It has somebody's name written in it. So it came from someone's home way back when and it's just so neat to see all of the businesses where they're located it gave a little bit of history of how the city started. But you know, it wasn't that long before this was printed. It's just amazing. And I'm just so glad we have these things in the museum. Yeah. Did drop one of the big bucks. Felt so mad at myself in Heather are other team member. And she's a librarian. She's I mean, obviously, you're going to be very careful about all these books. The bindings are coming off. And you know, there's nothing they can do about that. Yeah. But like some of these books from like nineteen I don't know fifty. It's a big directory of names of all of Minneapolis and phone numbers in reverse numbers. And I dropped one what to sound like a very little sound. And it was also like. Dislike heartbreaking because here. This is a precious thing that we only have one of here, I'm dropping it and could be damaging it. Coffee copy of it. I'd rather look through the. If you saw these things I mean, they are just huge. So you have this on micro. It's just like they can't because it's just so that would be so time consuming, so they send the physical one physical copy. Here. I am throwing it around. Carol, Burnett episodes. Ancient artifact, and you know, but none of the pages came out. Thank goodness. And I just you know, I was like sorry. Like the guy who's the attendant there. The historian was like can I help you? "Spradley you told me that story about that that young lady that college student. Yes, she found guy in her dorm room closet, wearing her clothes and had a conversation with them for a while before he went away, creepy, very creepy. And it reminded me of the time that apparently somebody wandered into my dorm room in college. And I okay. So here's the story. And by the way, if you have crazy roommates stories six five one six four one one zero seven one I gone to sleep my roommate had left the room, and she had left the door unlocked. And while she I don't know if she was like washing up or what I don't know. But she came back into the room. And there was. A person sitting below my bed in a rocking chair just rocking in his underwear. Okay. That's creepy. And I am alone in the bed asleep. Now part of the story that you need to know is that I had a dream that somebody was trying to get into bed with me. And I was like pushing them away. I thought it was a dream. It turned out. It wasn't a dream. I woke up minutes later to my roommate and my three friends who live two of them across the hall and one down the hall standing in the doorway of my room, whispering. My name. Colleen. Colleen wake up Kaleen. And I'm like, what am I mad because they're waking me up now. And I look at them, and they're pointing to the rocking chair underneath my bed, and I look down, and there's this guy just rocking rocking chair underwear too. I was like what do I do? They did nothing. I'm in the room alone with this strange person, who I do not know and the three of them are at the door laughing because they think this is all areas, and I'm like what you guys helped me, and they're like, we don't know what to do. Well, one of them recognized turn on the lights and say, well, the lights were on there were lights on in the room. They didn't like wake him up or anything. He was they didn't talk to him or anything. It was just sitting there staring. Matthew, sleep. I'll tell you in a second. They figured out who were they recognize him enough to know that he lived with his brother in the room below my room. They went downstairs they got his woke his brother up his brother came up got him. They left the room turns out he was probably drunk walking thought my room was his room happens. Yeah. But don't you love my question. All just you're not walked because my roommate had left the room to like go wash your face or get ready for bed. She had left for just a couple minutes and came back in. Okay. So rule number one from now on you're going to be locking your door. No matter what I said to her as a please do not leave me alone in my room at night lock. That thing bring your key with. I do not need a strange person in my bedroom. Now that same person tried more than once to get into our room other times. Do you have any crazy roommate story? Six five one six four one one zero seven one and a lot of people on the phone. Do let's go to AJ. Hello AJ. What's your crazy? Roommate story though, this was decades ago when I was in college. But I had a roommate who would let guys come home with her and totally dark never turned on a light she'd find her bed, and they would start going addicts. And so unlike Hello roommates over here. In the same room. Oh, yeah. Back then they were small rooms it's called a bolster bed, and you could push it in and you'd have like a couch. Cushioning back. But then you pull it out at night. So I started to get like a chalkboard and started, you know, putting up last night. And I grade them by how.

"And so after I interviewed the priest and then the next guest the next Jim Kaleen was was a retired New York City police detective mat-, so cool. So when you get an Irish priest and a police detective as your first two guests, and you cut together a trailer. I set it off to him. And he goes, well, if a priest and a cop off on you, I guess, it's okay. And he got interested. That's right. So we got on the plane and went to Saint Louis, but we saw went to Ireland. There were three guys here in the states. Swinger in Denver. That's right. You met Jim Kaleen swinger. How was that? Awful. Imagine. And I didn't I could have really gone after him to. But I didn't. Awful from all the reasons you'd think, you know. But anyway, the cop in New York the guy in Saint Louis swinger in Denver. And then we went to a stray area, actually how. Yeah. This is a journey. Yeah. It was one year basically from start to finish. And we were blessed everything just total serendipity one thing just led to another which was just great. It's like we were blessed or something. But yeah, the guy in Australia's fantastic. He's a CEO of a community health center, very aware, very conscientious, and and wouldn't respond to my emails and Finally I sent them one Email that was really direct and ten minutes later on the phone and thirty minutes later, he's like you're staying at my house, so cool. So then I went to Scotland and met a guy who's a traffic engineer. And the reason I found him online is that he had an award winning photo of time lapse a traffic circle at night. Wow. So the beautiful blurring of the brake lights and the headlights. And so we actually did the interview from the overpass overlooking the traffic. Circle where he took the photo. And we looked remarkably alike, which was interesting so anyways to being trippy. Yeah. It was kind of weird the whole thing on honestly. But then the third act of the film. I brought everyone to Kaleen Texas, which is our last name colossal allow I had met them all in their own space in their own. You know, doing something that they like to do golf with one guy played poker with another guy. Right. So then swing swing. So I played poker with took his money just a little bit. And then and then so so for the finale, I wanted them all to meet and interact with each other and we coincided with the anniversary of the city. So they had all these events going and they just rolled out the red carpet for us. So we entered chilly in the chili cook off, you know, of laughing the whole time and went to the rodeo and sat right by the bulls. Which was incredible. The only swearing in the movies from the priest when he saw one of the bowls jumping diarrhea, straightening. You know? I don't know if you leave it in or if you bleep it out. You'd have to have to. So. So the whole the whole the whole experience was great because it's an exercise in just finding the courage to start. Yeah. That's awesome. And you know, there's this great documentary called hearts of darkness about the making of apocalypse. Now, I've seen it. Incredible..

"Hello everyone. It's Tony the movie guy with a brand new episode of Tony of the movie the punk kost. And my co host. I've missed you miss money. Any many sorry I've been absent. She left me. The lost episode. Did I was sick of him? Just go you had something planned to something. Right. Is busy. Thank you too. Busy for the show. Come on. All right anyway. This isn't exciting. I persona. I've got a great guest. Jim kaleen? How are you? My friend excited to be here. Awesome. We're excited to have you on the show. So Jim number one. You're a fan of the podcast. Yeah. Love it. Thank you for listening, and you had the great idea to do like crime movies. I've actually had this list prepared for like ever. So that's going to be a main topic will go back and forth on our less. You've got your prepared less of crime movies. I've got mine and thank you for that. Because I am pumped to do it. But one thing I wanted to talk about real quick that's really cool about Jim. Jim this big bubbly guys. Got this great, kilowatt smile and one thing. So cool about you that you could I've known you for some years. Now, you did a documentary sometime ago when was that there was about ten years ago about ten years ago called Google me? That's right. Which was really cool. The concept of this documentary is really cool. You like Google? Name and went and like search fourth and everyone with your name or something tell us about a that's right. It's basically it's kind of high-concept high execution, you know, or low concept heights. Some some variation of that just late one night. Like everyone in the world has done. I googled my own name. And I found this incredibly diverse weird cast of characters all name Jim Kaleen that lived in the real world with this in the state specifically or any over the world now over the world. So I at that time I had a small post production facility with a partner, and we were just splitting up, and so I had a complete editing bay allow at your disposal four terabytes of memory, which at that time. Was like, whoa. Right. Right. Right. And and so I was like I had this idea. And I was like, you know, what if I'm not going to do it. Now when I'm going to do it. Right. So I had a business that was doing very well. So as able to to make the film on my own and I set out us he financed. It did about a third of a million dollars. Wow. Three fifty something. Like that. I don't I I don't have the courage to look at the final number. But. I will say without a doubt. It's the worst get rich quick scheme in the history of get rich quick schemes. It's just not money. But he man. Yeah. Don't regret it. I have traveled all over. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I saw the first the first interview I did was with a priest in the south of Ireland. Wow. Cool so named father Jim Kaleen who is this just bubbly gregarious not dogmatic super engaged..
Apple FaceTime bug turns your iPhone into hot mic
"I'm my kids are apple heads. But and they're trying to get my wife and me to get an iphone. I've got no interest. I I like my my Android experience and have for for a long time here. But this reminded me, do you remember there was a story? I want to say it was six seventy years ago. Maybe even longer where the claim was that even if your phone was off, I'm not talking about the screen is timed out. Your phone is just stamp. I'm talking about. There was a story that if your phone was powered down, and it was even a story that even if your battery was out, I don't know how the hell that could possibly be true. That there were government agency spy agencies like CIA or the NSA, whomever. Some of these spy agencies, and who knows about all little divisions and wings and arms. But there was a story that they could actually turn on your phone and use it as a microphone, so even if your cell phone was in your house or office or wherever and it was off that the story was is that the feds can actually turn it on and use your phone as a bug as a microphone. I remember. I heard this story years ago five eight years ago. So if you can maybe dig up one of the old stories, I'll give me a reference on the time. And I don't think I've heard of this since so I don't know if it was older devices or but it's peaked in its intrigue me I want to go back and do some research. I just didn't have time. And I I thought about it with his apple story. So before we grab some phone calls. Eight hundred. Eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine the nationwide number eight hundred eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine the funeral story. And as I set the story up and I teased this earlier in the hour. And I said, hey, I've got the funeral story which I had the story yesterday. I just didn't get around to doing it. But it's very very important story. And I said that this is a story that sort of has a happy ending. And when you when you say funeral or you think of a funeral you don't think of of happiness, but in this case, this kind of a smile on your face. It can bring a tear to your eye. And I thought the story was phenomenal. Because I had I heard about it over the weekend. I I printed the story out. And I I wanted to do it on yesterday's program. But I didn't have time to to to get into it because there's so much breaking news yesterday. And I wanted to give it enough time and not short shrift. The story is out of Texas. And if you've seen this, you know, it's. A wonderful story if you haven't listened it'll take a minute. An air force veteran passed away back in November in Texas by the name of Joseph Walker. And Joseph Walker's family was notified or the family had some communication with the funeral home. And then they dropped off the face of the map and the funeral home could not contact them. So the funeral home knowing that he was a military veteran. An air force veteran. They got with the central Texas State veterans cemetery in Killeen, Texas, and they put out a social media post that essentially they didn't want. This air force veteran to be alone at his funeral ceremony at this central Texas State veterans cemetery in Kaleen, so they put out a message on Facebook and social media, and it goes viral. They were afraid that he would be all alone at his funeral does a seventy two year old, man. Died of natural causes served in the United States Air Force from nineteen sixty four to nineteen sixty eight. He was a resident of Dale, Texas and died on November nineteenth apparently from natural causes. This thing went viral. And there are reports from local Texas media. That hundreds if not thousands showed up to the funeral. The last report I saw that K W T X television. They claim that there were five to six thousand vehicles in line. That's incredible. So the family was originally contacted about his passing they made contact. But then they couldn't. They couldn't contact the family again. And that's when they they put out this call on social media. And it went completely and totally viral. It was even a contingent looks like I'm looking at a picture here. We'll like dozens and dozens of air force airmen from Fort Hood, Texas in full uniform and American flags they showed up. Which again. It's a nice story. That he was not buried alone. Now, Mark George who is part of the central Texas combat vets motorcycle ministry services, he said at the funeral today. We're not strangers today. We are family. This is our brother Joseph Walker like a lot of other vets he signed the blank check for our nation. So just a a nice story. With a happy ending. And it just shows that the social media can be used for a lot of good and not a lot of the crap that we see today. Ted Cruz Senator Cruz from Texas even tweeted out over the weekend. Air force veteran. Joseph Walker be laid to rest Monday. And no one is expected to attend the cemetery said, they don't know what his family is. And they do not want him to be alone or they don't want it to be laid to rest alone. So they're asking the public to attend this. A a lot of. Social media posts on this. And again, some reports had five thousand plus vehicles. And I I saw video and pictures of a massive crowd at this funeral. So certainly a good story. And believe it or not Jake tapper from CNN and Ted Cruz, actually teamed up, and they tried to help spread the social media word. Also, I don't know if I'm going to get to this hour, but there is crazy video and audio of a woman that fat shames to larger individuals on a United Airlines flight earlier this month from. From Las Vegas to Newark. It was the United Airlines flight there's video audio and this woman was seated in the middle seat between two large passengers and just instead of handling this in a quiet subdued fashion by asking the flight attendant privately for help. If you're getting squished, you're getting squashed this lady made a scene, and I want to get into that coming up in just a bit as well. We also have the top intelligence chiefs their commentary on North Korea and other geopolitical situations, we have the North Korean summit coming up with President Trump the second one supposedly at the end of next month in February and there's a lot of concern. And as I've told you all along the North Koreans and Kim Jong Hoon are showing absolutely no Willard desire to actually dismantle. And the way I see it. As Trump is. Getting rope a dope like all the other previous negotiations with North Korea. The question is what will President Trump do about that? So we'll get to that coming up. All right. Let me grab a couple of calls. And then I want to get into this the CNN situation with Trump and the tweeting and this this viper book. And I think Trump made a mistake. I'll explain in just a bit. The Medicare, and then we may draw Medicare they've got to get a supplemental insurance. So we actually pay for insurance. How are they going to pay? These people probably never worked in the ride and all the legal immigrants coming across the border and its costs four to five trillion dollars out here again, listen even even Schultz, even even the liberal Howard Schultz from Starbucks who's threatening independent run. He's saying we can't afford this. I mean, it's it's preposterous. And of course, what they really want is universal single payer and they want socialized medicine, and you know, what happens to quality was socialized medicine worldwide. Thanks for the call. I appreciate it, Tom. Hey, sponsor this half hour on

I have no words to describe how I feel. But I I honestly have this kind of like, maybe it's because I'm getting older, and I'm becoming like a woman I'm twenty eight now. So I feel like my early twenties was definitely a confusing period for me and for I think a lot of women, especially it's like south down. And so I don't know. I think now I'm just way more comfortable. I think with my just vocals have been doing so much more. You know, you never stop learning. So I still do kind of my singing causes every week. And I do just take care of myself more than I've ever done before taking care of yourself is always working out or eating right? It's also like it's like mentally yacking decisions. That are good for you. Yeah. Yeah. And not like completely just I can't deal with like hangovers much anymore. Like, it's real Honey at twenty eight you're giving up. I know one this morning. I feel like no. But like on a C, I'm taking things mole like into perspective now. Yeah. So I don't know. It sounds boring whatever. No, no. No. No. No. And but it's it's reflecting here. I'm assuming that no matter what you do while to our show, you could be an insurance agent or when.

Researchers began finding these indicators of arson fires that they knew were accidental. There was a the wildfires in Oakland, California and early nineties destroyed thousands of homes killed I think twenty four people and injured many more than that was one of the most devastating fires in in northern California at that time, and these researchers wanted to Kaleen and look at these buildings that had been burnt down to their foundations and figure out how to investigate these kind of total losses and do so accurately, and they went in there thinking, they find evidence of accidental fires, and they went in, and they found all these indicators of arson the crazed glass and the spoiled concrete and all these things that supposedly only could happen, and it's fire in which somebody had thrown gasoline around and and and deliberately made an intention fast burning fire. And and that was a horrifying revelation to these investigators many of whom had worked for law enforcement and had used this kind of evidence to send people to prison or deny them insurance coverage when you know, when their houses burned down, and here, they were finding all these indicators of of a criminal act that they knew wasn't a criminal. That was the first sign that something was seriously wrong with the way we.

We had a whole show on Pearl Harbor, and Jim knows one of the guys that we've had the show about his son was on tell us a little bit about that. I well. Yeah, you know, what this could be this could be the our program because it is so gratifying to see the connection that happened after his name is Edward Kaleen. Edward Kaleen mood from southern California to Oregon, and I discovered that he had become a new resident here in the state of Oregon. And so we were having our our state convention for the military to the purple heart, and I had contacted word and Edward was totally busted. He was in a rest home. And he said, Jim he said, I don't have enough money to do anything. He says and in any he he kinda sheepishly. Told me he was at a ten percent rate, and he had been wounded a couple of years bazooka men L. Let me let me spread it open just a little bit. Because the the story about Edward Khalid is immense. He was docked right next to the USS Arizona Pearl Harbor December seventh nineteen forty one. He was in the crow's nest of the Tennessee, and he was up there smoking a cigarette. Feeling kind of down about the fact that he was up at the crack dawn cleaning out that crows nest and he saw this plane. He tipped his head over it about a forty five to try to get a better perspective of this plenty saw approaching L they were more planes. There was a the sky was filled with planes any thought that's really strange, then he heard the sound of twenty and thirty millimeter cannon fire from the plane's coming in at him and saw the first or pitas hit the water and then through that. He went down the plank of the ladder down to the deck, and a captain he also he was amusing musician as well as a bazooka what a combination and so the captain yelled general quarters and Bill got on our Edward gut on the bugle and could barely pucker his lips because of the fear and everything exploding. Then he jumped on a any aircraft and started firing his son, Steve Colleen couldn't be prouder as we all are proud of Edward clean Edward clean his passed on. And I'm sure he's in the mansions of the Lord because he went onto Sipe pan all of the Pacific islands to include. He would GM is a bazooka, man..

And then they work the whole red carpeting, they can take them an hour and a half to two hours. Well, yeah. And it depends like the first person on the red carpet with that was Katherine. Hi golic's. Rush blonde. She was the very first one on the red carpet. And she didn't she worked at red carpet for almost two hours. Yeah. Because they have this big stand of fans. You can't talk all weekend. And just have a lot of water was that fun. Not talk. Sometimes. Yeah. It was. What's the snuggles with my boys? My dogs and husband when he allowed me to go with him. But poor Colleen doesn't I don't know. What I think it's kids. It's really tough when you have three kids pass it back and forth around to each other. I'm sure on hill. He's around a lot of kids too. And just kind of I didn't realize really how many people I come into contact with people. Get up close and they talk in your face. You're very sweet. And you hug and touch everybody. But yeah, you can't do that. Because last year if I remember, right? You're not really sick Jason. And then it was almost over. And then you've got it again. Yeah. This one just feels this is I think one of the longest running ones I've had this cough. This cough went away. What was so funny? Was it went away mid Disney. And then right after I went to the minute clinic, the good one. With that dynamic nurse practitioner who gave me like three meds. It was so funny, then the cough came back everything else started going away. But then the cough returned. And I'm like, oh crap. That's exhausting. Yeah. So now, I still I still have that. And hopefully, it will be going away soon because again. Doing a job like this. Difficult because you just you really just can't draw pictures would like to just sit here and draw pictures, but. On your TV show..
