The two students loft silently a silver crucifix bouncing up and down on Dylan's chest. Mary buried her face in her textbook tis swimming in her eyes. She knew the hearing aid would eventually find his way back to her the bullies wouldn't keep it because it was too fun to keep stealing it over and over. They toyed with her like a cat plays with the mouse. As expected Mary got her hearing a back by the end of the day after suffering through six classes taught by adults who never learned ASL. The Dismantled Ferry Kalakala Still Has Stories to Tell

"I'm continuing my investigation into the world. So the paranormal metaphysical working with the idea. That goes whether we see them or psychic. Senses them are made up of energy and we'll be monitoring or following along the oldest active paranormal investigation team and the Washington State Ghosts Society to see what they have to say about an investigation into a ghostly or angry spirit will the story starts out with the fairy. It was the fastest ferry. Impute sound making eight round trips routine. Bremerton and Seattle every day at a brisk eighteen knots. It had room for a hundred and ten autos on her car. The remaining decks had room for two thousand passengers there were shower facilities for shipyard workers returning home a lunch counter. Three Observation Rooms Sun deck and Ladies Lounge. It became a hot nightspot lunch counter catered parties. The observation decks became ballroom. Sadly Nineteen Forty Adelaide. Bebr committed suicide in the ladies Lounes. She lost her father to suicide followed by the death of her brother. She was twenty nine years old and still unmarried in the Ladies Lounge. She committed suicide by shooting herself. Well that was one thousand nine hundred forty one thousand nine hundred sixty seven. The Kala Kala retired from service. A move to the Washington State Ferries Repair Facility in Eagle Harbor. A year later she was sold to a seafood processing company and towed to Alaska to work as a crab Cannery Kala was beached in Kodiak in nineteen seventy and use their to process shrimp. Finally she was moored and would spent her final years listing until one thousand nine hundred seventy five waiting to be scrapped but in two thousand and two the oldest active paranormal investigation team and the Washington State Ghost society toured the Kala Kala with the owner. Some of the sensitives in the grew felt drawn to the Ladies Lounge and a female psyche detected the spirit of a woman who did not like men other. Investigators brought devices that measured electromagnetic energy which detected energy readings in the Ladies Lounge. The investigators set up motion detection sensors and energy detectors connected to a computer that recorded all of the readings at the same time they left the lounge and investigated other locations on the ferry where they got more energy readings that coincided with the presence of that sad female spirit spoke of the beginning of this podcast when the psychic detected the spirit the meters around her went off as technicians move forward. The energy went down. The psychic moved following the spirit. The energy readings rose the psychic suggested that the skirt moved away because technicians were men and she did not them nearby when they returned to the Ladies Lounge. They had a surprising result. The motion detectors work by emitting level. Noises bounced off the walls if someone stepped in front of the Mirror the signal bounce back too soon telling the computer. Something has stepped inside the room. The motion detectors spiked several times while the investigators were away. Oddly the computer indicated one of the sounds took too long to bounce back from the wall. The only way this could have happened was if the walls of the caller caller had moved further away from the sensor. Ross Allison one of the ghost hunters speculated that the sound emitted by the sensor may have travelled out to the wall and back but pass through something that was not solid some form of energy. Unfortunately the team was not able to return for more investigations today. The Kala Kala is just a memory but one wonders if perhaps the ghost of Adelaide bebr might not have stepped off the old ferry that graving dock on the Blair waterway just before she was scrapped.

"Introduces complexity in the edit the great thing by doing it on your phone is the footage is than in your phone. That's easier to get onto the cloud or onto your ending set up or to your editor than if you have to download it from your phone or your camera Amezaga conversion Kodak bla-bla-bla. You don't need to deal with that two quick questions. So do you currently still use any cameras to this day? Are you the only your phone? I just use my iphone and I have five d envy, which is the candidate. I mean, it's a gorgeous camera, but I just don't need it. And that's another good thing. If you're if you're gonna go on the road, and you're gonna be in countries where the income levels are a little bit lower. You don't wanna bunch of expensive stuff hanging off every time. You got the bus. So that camera is the iphone is great now, you can shoot video with Android two. I haven't done that. But I think the group will camera Google actually has a really good camera as well. But yeah, just huge emotional issue. I don't have the five have the the teacher. And I'm just like, I don't. Like, if I wanna keep a camera around, which like you said, I mean, there's there's almost no needs to at this point. But if I want to keep a camera around just to have my phone handy. It's one of those things where I'm trying to find the perfect Switzerland. DSL the perfect digital camera because I think at this point in time. I mean, the digital cameras there as much flexibility you as you have with the digital cameras are getting pretty good dancing technology in. I think that having one of those pocket-sized cameras at this point would be a definite benefit to anybody doing video marketing, and I wouldn't even say if somebody's getting into doing a lot of video than just by in a used iphone six and don't get data package for just use it for the camera. And then you bet a spare camera us while as your phone. Okay. Nice actually that so I may just do that instead and just in December idea solar. So my question is because we're doing everything tonight phone I wanna walk through that process because reducing saw dancing for a lot of people. I know that my social manager. Like, I mean, we put our heads together. We've been trying to figure out the best way to efficiently make. Video get some watermarks in the video get get some taxonomy uploaded. Save a lot of space is just so much. Maybe walk us through a simple process for any and everybody out there looking to do video marketing making the video Eddie video uploading the video like walk us through maybe a simple process with if you absolutely us from beginning to end how you started showing how you finish in upload a video. Yeah. I mean, come what you're describing. Now think about I don't know much about the real estate business. I've always been interested in it. But there's a lot of moving parts for you guys to investors in agents. And so I think so successful people handle complexity yet, we create a system around it. Right. And so I think that guest there are some pretty powerful systems to keep realtors organiz and investors organiz. So it's the same with video. And this is one of my secrets that seems so obvious after the fact, but it gets into the second mistake that people are making around their videos, and that's just making one time. Now, you know, people look at me like I can't get my head around. How do I do one? You. Let me do three or five at a time. Like, yeah. I want you to batch those babies because it's much more efficient to do that. You'll save time and money, you might even get point where you can hire an editor and not spend a Jillian hours of your time when you should be on your business entity, Matt's a real sticky point. And I understand that completely having been in editor in now..

"Sister. They're looking to start a smart business. They're looking to know just find a way to help other people in in this day and age the best way to get your information out through the best way to to teach people the best way, but soy to produce any type of contents. This is video. I mean, quite frankly is video like the taking over you think about Facebook. You think about Instagram you think about all the social media platforms ws, they're highly highly highly. No looking for more video content. They're pushing that to the top s what they want. That's what more of the beury's s what more of the listeners want. So why should a real estate investor realistic coach business coach entrepreneur incorporate video marketing or video into their marketing strategy in general, well, you touched on the major reason, which is if the success of your business depends abundant gauging influencing connecting with an online audience. Then you've got to start thinking about video because in the wild west days of the internet. Everything was kind of new end there were no huge players yet. Now, it's becoming oligarchy Google one side Facebook on the other the kind of control the internet in some ways, non oversimplifying. But so and they both love video. And the reason they loved video is because he will spend more time on a platform watching videos, so Google favor. A website in the tricks in the ratings give it has video on it. Facebook is. Giving very much free reach anymore. And that means so they used to share posts and things without having to pay for it. But they're not doing that very much humour you had to pay to play for the most part now, but video Facebook live is kinda still a little bit of exception to that rule. You get a little more juice from down without having to pay much. If you're doing video consistently to those are the business, he kind of reach reasons, but my favorite reason is because the key to succeeding when it seems like the entire world is getting online starting visits is your prospect has to get to know you and trust you super quickly. I mean, you know, that the velocity of business online is different than in the, you know, out on the streets sort of, you know, main street, it's hard to describe until you sort of been in there working with it, but things happen. So which quickly trends, come and go out rhythms change, it can be a little freaky. But the anchor is that humans like to connect with other. Humans and we liked to business people we trust. So what's the fastest way to get to? That is probably not an E mail stream anymore. I mean emails important, but it Email nurture series is gonna take twice as long to establish that level trust as if somebody does down to three to four minute video. So that's those are kind of the reason why video is so important in the things that I can go into kind of three things I see people doing wrong if you'd like me to this time. Let's do it with. Yeah. So and this is why I'm really happy. You know, Mike clients had dragged me back to Miguel in front of the camera helping work this do feel like like, I know a secret I want everybody to know. As much as possible. So there's three basic mistakes that I see people getting into video new video. And the first one is over complicating overcomplicating the texts that it doesn't have to be hard at all. I've download guides that are fabulous guides. You know, how to video, but there's like recommendations for five cameras in seven Mike's who needs that you've got a smartphone? You know, just use your smartphone. It will simplify your life so much and smartphone to take video now. I mean, it's kinda crazy. I used to have a big old camera, and I don't anymore because you know, my heart phone takes just as good video. You mean just the just the regular camera app on your smartphone? If it's an iphone just click on the camera press recording. You're good to go. Yeah. Exactly. Especially while. I found six or newer, you can't kind of funky the iphone five actually did pretty. Okay video but the six and the seven are the next level. And that is I mean, that's what I used for all my videos, Ed, unless you're like shooting BMW commercial or something you don't need a big video camera because..

"To you. It's going to be a no-man's-land to border patrol's enforcement zone. They will clear. Everything agent told me why would we lead even one Bush for someone to hide under customs and border? Protection denies that it plans to completely clear cut the land. It also says that property owners who need access to the land between the river and the wall can have it about I fly center doesn't have a lot of options to stop the wall. The federal government can claim private land for public use through a legal process called eminent domain. The government has used eminent domain many times before to build other stretches of the border wall under previous administrations Trevino right gets that. But she was shocked when last year she found workman wielding chainsaws, cutting down trees and mowing down brush to survey the land, imagine going home to your house when day and finding. People cutting down your trees knocking down your fence and destroying your your yard Trevino right says that's really the crux of her complaint. It's not really about the butterflies the birds and the butterflies can fly over the wall. The issue is the seizure of private property. The issue is the violation of due process. Those are the real issues. So the butterflies center sued the lawsuit claims those workers legally entered the sanctuary and destroyed property, and here's the important part Trevino right says that clearcutting happened before congress approved funding for wall construction legal experts say the federal government has a lot of leeway when it comes to eminent domain attorney, Alan Ackerman, an expert on eminent domain says the government does have to meet one really important requirement before taking private lands. The federal government has tremendous discretion. But that discretion is only based upon approval from the legislative body and once the federal. Government has the discretion. That's pretty hard to beat them. In other words, congress has to fund the project before where it can get underway. The funding eventually did come through. The government has filed a motion to dismiss the suit see VP declined to comment on the case since litigation is ongoing Trevino right says she understands construction will probably move for in any way. Still there's a lot of open questions like how much of their land. We'll get cut how much money will the government pay out in compensation, and how long would that process? Take and the big question can the butterfly center, even stay open after all that. I mean, we have long term plans for this place. "That means another visit from alga too low. Hello, Al all right, guys. Eleven twenty two to go here in the third quarter. And if you'd said Odell junior was going to be the first giant to throw a touchdown pass in the game today for the giants. I would've said you're out of your mind, but he did just that a forty nine yard touchdown pass an end around bet component up and throwing it to Russell shepherd for the forty nine yard touchdown. The bears defense completely fooled by the play left. Russell Shepard wide open any walks, right? Into the end zone. Giants with ten unanswered points here as we start up the second half. They had a fifty seven yard field goal before that to end the half longest in giants history with eleven twenty one to go here in the third quarter. It's old giants seventeen to fourteen over the bears guys. All right altitude. Thank you much. Yeah. It's it's the giants have also been playing some physical defense as well. And I get that. It's chase Daniel in for the bears right now. But the the giants look like a team that you know, is out to ruin a couple of seasons right now. Yeah. I mean, they have a an upward facing trajectory. They've been. Playing. Well, the last couple of weeks they've been kind of putting it together which doesn't quite make sense for a giants fan. You're probably not super excited about it with the draft answering closer to us and no playoff hopes for your team. But like you said, they're they're starting to figure it out. After like Eli manning is playing ball. Even though Odell throws the first touchdown pass today. There were reports that could be back again next year as the giants quarterback. I mean kala letter was is active today. Their rookie out of Richmond. Why well into the draft put a guy who be like enough in the building to have him as the backup to you lie and he's active today. So there were some thought that maybe this thing got away from the giants that maybe we'd see Cal letter. But so far the best best quarterback for the giants has been. Beckham toss and touchdowns all season saying it's all he does. Meanwhile, the Browns have their longest drive going there. Well into Texans territory, we'll keep you updated their if that pays off two points. I got a field goal. Let's see here. Oh is the ravens so Justin. Tucker added one for Baltimore. So tied at ten in a first-half where the falcons were held to a season low in yards eighty seven total offensive yards. That's our worst offensive half of football at home in quite some time. As Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have really just having trouble getting on the same page targeted five times. It has to grabs eighteen yards. What you want out of the best receiver in the National Football League? I mean, Austin Hooper the tight end for Atlanta has four grabs a forty three. Mark Andrus, Michael Crabtree time and Gumri and Chris more for the ravens have all out. They have more receiving yards. Then Julio Jones. Oh, another update. Let's get down a good one as surprisingly competitive one in the NFC south. Fuckin- ears J retro with an update in Tampa. What's going on guys? One play. After a long pass down the field intended for Bobo Wilson gets flagged for a pass interference. Peyton Barbara runs. It in from one yard out. The buccaneers have a twenty four to ten lead here in the third quarter seven Twenty-three left on the clock. There's not enough time here to do it hawk. But I want you to prepare your what's wrong with the Panthers takes because I can't I can't figure it out. You can't quite put your finger on it. This is a secondary. That's down three starters for Tampa Bay in Cam, Newton company has ten ten points. You're going the wrong way. They're like the opposite of the giants started. Now, they're going to meet them in the middle. Two picks for Cam Newton does have one hundred twenty three yards and a touchdown. But still not what you now what I thought would happen today in that. What if anybody was up twenty four ten I thought it would have been a Carolina. So our number three the show upcoming field gates set to join us for the duration. It is operation football. Because the reality is that if you want the number one overall pick in the NFL draft, you don't go out there. Having just one win on the season and beat a one win eight you're battling for purgatory. You're battling for up two. You're bad. You're battling to be recognized as the very worst there by being the team that needs the most help. That's why you would get the number one overall pick this supposed to be doing. Now, some people say, well, Stephen they wanted as opposed to do I agree with that. What are you supposed to do if L Beckham was targeted eleven? By the way, and all you have four receptors seventy three yards albeit touchdowns, but Beckham Julia and saquon Barkley out on a field, you should be trying to win football games. Kind of made me a little bit more motivated like hey let's get this guy to talk to us and it's work. On the stories together Rudy wasn't the only young journalist at sons and brothers, camp Jaden cornet from crescent city wrote the script for Kylo story I think young people can tell young person's story from a young person's perspective has some, credibility to it maybe can, be more of a pure form of of the truth And Randy VA guests from Kern county helped record the sound for the story it was really inspiring an amazing to do. This story not only seen Kylo but seen all of the young men from, all different parts of California coming together rising up together and truly embracing each other through brotherhood After.

Tech shares are S&P 500's most important stocks right now, will it last?

"Five hundred's performance to close out the first half of the year peggy with us to tell us more is luke kala bloomberg news reporter joining us in new york studio luke you had this great story out this week about how ten stocks account for all of the s and p five hundred first half gains this year how did that happen well what's what's important to realize here is that this is actually a fairly common phenomenon the the idea that just just a few stocks are really the ones pulling the weight for the benchmark when you look at it from from a top down level so what happened this time is that it's i mean that's a lot of the usual suspects you you'd expect amazon nearly accounts for about half of the sp five hundred's first half total return of roughly three percent then it's a bunch of other tech companies and then some credit cards so tacking credit cards are really what did the heavy lifting in the first half credit cards that surprises me payment payments are still fine the us consumer sell fine so so names like visa and mastercard are also big companies so that even when they're going up by by not a ton there's still a packing a fairly big punch for the benchmark is she i'm just kidding globe so what about amazon how big of a share or we're talking about so we're talking about a forty five forty five percent of their total return for the s and p five hundred was was due the amazon that's that's a testament to the fact that the company keeps getting into new markets and scaring the heck out of anyone that's in there and it's it's a weird phenomenon we see where whenever amazon enters its or the acquiring company it goes up by less than the total damage to all the competitors and that's something we saw recently when it was getting into moving into pills what does this bode for the second half of the year potentially and we've been seeing a lot more volatility so if you have these tech stocks mainly driving the gains do we expect that that could run out of steam i i think there's kind of two ways to look at this there's the way to look at it and in terms of you know tech has been high flying and it's been you know the thing quartet and and friends that have really been doing well for a long time so it's it's very reasonable thank okay well how long does this move have but goldman's david costs and who put together this list he kind of highlighted one reason why it could be different this time we could suspect the continued oh performance of these large cap growth stocks he said they also screen well for quality these names obviously both have the momentum factor at their side for for most of the quarter in that they'd been performing well good up trends but in terms of quality they have strong balance sheets and as we're entering a rising rate environment but one that's still not sufficient and we're the economic growth still isn't sufficient to really give grossed value stocks rather a big boost he thinks you know the quality factor could still a boy these stocks to continue doing while in the second half as well i can't help but notice that a lot of these stocks on this list are technology stocks you know you've got apple microsoft even facebook alphabet i wonder if the tariff problem begins to take a toll on the technology sector could we see this change certainly i think we could see that change in but one odd development that happened through june the last month of the of the quarter is that the russell two thousand which is the most insulated sector presumably from from trade wars because it's composed of small cap companies that generally do the lion's share of their business in the us that and and tech that an accused the nasdaq one hundred basically traded and lockstep so the market has been treating these essentially as a trade war immune proxy for now which is very odd to me especially considering that as we've seen the tenor of the trade war kind of shift focused by us president donald trump on intellectual property and chinese tech companies has been something that's happening and the chinese equivalent of the nasdaq one hundred there's a guggenheim tech etf called see q q that tracks those that's been getting absolutely hammered and the big three the bat by do alibaba and tencent has been getting absolutely clobbered so the us has not been sharing as much in the tech pain is china and maybe if if the tariff war and trade war doesn't ten safai and and get to different levels and that's something we might see in the us also join them to the downside until almost as if investors are treating us
