"Is in full swing. The fest a couple of weeks ago made the decision to go all virtual and as a result, our social media and letterbox feeds are filled with Sundance, coverage, from fellow critics, but also from listeners. And I feel left out. I don't know about you, or are we too good for virtual Sundance? What's the deal? We're the only ones not doing it. So I don't know what that says. Yeah, retroactive production meeting. Well, I don't even want to say this. I was going to say next year if it's virtual, do we go? Well, we'll go and we should do a whole show, you know, pick one or two titles that you and I both want to see. Check them out, watch them and review them on the show. That's probably what we should have done. But alas, we didn't come up with that idea before. Well, full disclosure. I did just last night, sneak in one virtual Sundance title. Oh, look at you. One that has been getting a fair amount of buzz. Good luck to you, Leo grand, starring Emma Thompson and oh yeah, the buzz is justified, especially for Emma Thompson's performance, but no surprise there. All right, do we have an early golden recommendation? It seems like a ton of those are coming out of Sundance possibilities anyway. It does seem like that so far I don't know that this movie would quite qualify, but our producer Sam is keeping a keen eye on promising movies from new or new to us directors coming out of Sundance. We did recently anoint Fernando valadez and identifying features as our 2021 golden brick. That debuted at Sundance many of our finalists certainly have also made their debuts at Sundance over the years. And if you're curious, Sam has a running list over on letter box of those promising brick titles, everyone is buzzing about at Sundance and we will link to it in the notes for this show. Looking ahead is what this show is all about. A bit later, we'll announce some of our show plans for the new year, a couple of new marathons to announce Josh. A new review subject, our next best movie year ever series, maybe with a tweak or two. And if you'll allow it anyway, we'll talk briefly about film spotting madness. I have a stopwatch and here's the time to employ your Need for Speed atom. Okay. What? 60 seconds, maybe? Yeah, that sounds good. All right, first though, it's our 2022 movie preview. We will share our top 5 most anticipated 2022 titles, but these previews always take the form of our top 5 questions about the movie year. Let's go ahead and jump right in. And we were talking in the intro, of course, about Top Gun mavericks slated to come out May 27th, fingers crossed. And I had put a question about Top Gun: Maverick in my penalty box for this episode. The question would have been will 2022 be the year I finally get to see Top Gun: Maverick and the reason of course it is in the penalty boxes, we actually talked about this movie on our 20 20 preview show. Crazy. I asked, I asked in January 2 years ago, which sequel 30 years in the making will most make me feel like a kid again. Ghostbusters afterlife, which I didn't bother to see or Top Gun: Maverick. It's just evidence how time has stood still in the last couple of years, even as everything has changed for us. That's just a perfect example right there. You also had a question on that 2020 preview show that is relevant to this episode and relevant to the conversation we were just having about Sundance, one of those titles that it does warm my heart to hear everybody seems to be loving. After Yang, the latest from koga nada, you wondered on that 2020 show, if with after Yang, koga nata will be the latest golden brick winner to go on and achieve even greater things. It sounds like he's on his way. Yeah, it's looking good. I mean, I haven't been reading anything that's come across my timeline, but on letterbox at least I have seen those star ratings. And pretty phenomenal. So that is all promising at this point. Yeah. I have also, for whatever it's worth decided that one of the movies, it's essential that Sophie and I see my daughter Sophie before she goes off to college. This summer is Columbus. I mean, of course it is. She should watch all of the golden brick, winners, and all of the finalists, frankly, too, but that just seems like one of those films that I gotta make sure she sees and just having that thought knowing that it's on the radar for us makes me even more excited about koga not his latest. So we look forward to talking about after Yang when it is released hopefully later this year. Let's kick off our questions, then Josh, what are you dying to know about the 2022 movie year? All right, my number 5 question can Olivia Wilde do funny and scary. Now Wilde's directorial debut was we both really enjoyed this one. I think Adam, the delightful teen comedy book smart that was back in 2019 styled beanie feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever. Her follow-up looks to be quite different. It's called don't worry darling. And IMDb at least has it classified as a crime slash drama slash horror. Here's the synopsis you'll find there. A 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community begins to worry that his glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets. Now playing the couple, none other than Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. Okay. For it, we'll see how that works. Cast also includes Gemma Chan, Chris Pine and wild herself. It's interesting here that Wilde is working with three different screenwriters than those who wrote the book smart script. Here we have Katie silberman, Carrie Van Dyck, and Shane Van Dyck, so that suggests to possibly a very different direction in tone. Now while she's shown she can master different sets of skills, she got her start, of course, as an actor in the likes of Tron legacy and drinking buddies. So it wouldn't be a surprise at all if she managed to pull this shift off. Also, don't worry, darling opens on September 23. I should have just let it go because there's so much love for book smart out there. I was not as taken with it as you were, but certainly appreciated it enough to be curious about what Olivia Wilde does next. And the fact that it's got Florence Pugh in it. Of course. Is enough to have me want to get in line to buy a ticket. My number 5 movie question is, will the match of Sam Raimi.

Emma Thompson Leo grand Fernando valadez Sam Yang koga nada koga nata Josh Sophie mavericks beanie feldstein Kaitlyn Dever Wilde koga Florence Pugh Olivia Wilde Gemma Chan us Columbus Katie silberman

"We're doing a casting call which we always do. When there's no adaptation this movie has also been in development hell for like ages and ages and ages which makes sense. I imagine it would be quite difficult to adapt this bad boy. And i do not envy them in fact they shouldn't try to stop. It doesn't need it. It's fine it doesn't need it. It's a good book on his own. Fine let's do character my character. Yeah edgar. I said gary oldman. That's always a hard pick. Because gary oldman can do anything. Yeah but he's not given the weeding man treatment enough. And i think that he be able to play the range of motion or the the range of emotion necessary to the part and still feel grounded. I feel like he's up to that task you could have said. I think gary oldman can and i went. Yeah yeah yup yup yup. Because he's one of the best actors alive he's great. I had jack. Nicholson because i think. Jack nicholson is maybe a lot like edgar. I don't personally but he looks like how. I thought edgar with look. He's like i thought how he would be angry. This is a great companion book to the shining for several reasons. And i think edgar definitely puts me in mind of the jack. Nicholson like like what you just leave me to my writing. Yeah yes Weyermann weyermann's hard. I said Benico toro benicio it might be beneath benico. But i'm like the whitest person on the planet so why i just really lake vibe. I don't know. I've i've liked him everything i've seen him and he's a great actor and he also we have seen him have a range of being able to play different ages. Yes environment of not obvious. H yeah I picked danny trae. How but danny dre. How puts on weight. I think danny's a good fit for this especially because people don't cast him in roles that are like supposed to be more sophisticated backstories. Weyermann was a lawyer like he speaks in this very thick Kind of spanish portola. But he like. He's got a very specific background. It's unclear if he has any hispanic spanish or latin descent. Yes which is. I think really interesting people just picked characters. We picked actors of that of latino descent. Yeah i mean it's set in florida. This man speaks spanish lot like it kind of makes sense. Let's talk about jack. I really liked. Jack's character is like a weird like just like a young dude along for the ride. Really fun he's a great sidekick and he. He's only person the entire story that gets a happy ending yeah. I picked tom holland. Because i know from the devil all the time. Tom holland compared to play teenager. And discount. Also from other roles do the wide eyed thing For the same reason picked michael I know he's way way way too old for like casting but he's just so good at that like oh shit. i guess. I'm doing this now. Kind of vibe. He that he could. He could play into the comedy aspects inherent to this character. I think so too. It's true that he's as old as my mom. Yeah but i think he could do it. I think you could do the task. Both of us picked dame maggie. Smith i think you could also probably do um meryl streep but that's because it's meryl streep yeah you could go with someone. That's a little a little more classically gritty like a glenn close. Oh sure thing for else. I had sophie turner and you had kaitlyn dever. Both of us picked young tv actresses. Yep kaitlyn dever. I think probably most famous for her own book smart. I know caitlin dever from last man standing on abc. She's a really solid actor. I think that she could do the kind of doe-eyed to no longer doa transformation that that part requires i. this is also wild The psychiatrist is one of the rare. Stephen king Characters who is black and it does not have any magical powers or any actually problematic. Anything actually you should look a cool character. That people like and i was down with that picture. Tyler perry cool dude people like. I've got to say that. I win this one. I picked leslie david. Baker stanley hudson from office. Oh he would be good at that and he he deserves some white positive portrayals just like look at this club this guy. Last one i picked is my best casting of this whole thing. And it's for mary. Ir the art critic who Is kind of intense and ends up killing elsa i picked marcia gay harden who plays mrs carmody in the missed yeah. I didn't have a good pick for this one. I really didn't have a clear image of it. I do think that for page. The wife jennifer aniston would crush it. I i was thinking patricia arquette. I think i've mentioned producer in every time we've done this. The patricia arquette boo club Let's go over two recommended readings. We both picked horror which is always fun. You've picked something that we've kind of danced around on this program but never actually selected. I think this is good. Pick for it. Yeah it's one of those weird ones. I can't believe we've missed it. Situation alan wake is a two thousand ten video game. It's available on steam. I put it on. Xbox in two thousand ten author looks for his missing wife in the small town of bright falls washington. He's slowly losing his mind. Paranormal dark forces control visions of his ever disappearing wife and her kidnapper. It's surreal it's gritty and it constantly references kings work including direct duma key references. It's nonstop i mean. It's really truly know. Masha kings work and it was the same developers behind control which was a previous recommended reading. really excellent game developers. Good good work if you like twin peaks if you like video games that play like television shows downloadable content. You'll like this episode. Yeah a lot and if you've played it seaman yeah i eight hundred percent of this game is one of the few games that i got. Every single tiny thing there is to do. I did it. I'm not surprised because it influenced your personal fiction a lot. Oh yeah yeah baby. Absolutely i wanted to pick something. That was sun-drenched horror thing. We didn't really get into in this piece. But this thing really appealing to me about like summer. Horror horror in heat in sticky humid air instead of like a solution and snow and dark and cold. It's hard not to recommend the wicker man. The original not the nick cage one where he's like the not that one It's full horror. it's a touchstone it's classic and that is a movie. That is bright terrible. Things happened in that movie and largely. They happened during the day which is true and do mckee also go go. Check it out. I mean. We've we've recommended midsummer before and that's another right is another huge touchdown for kind of sunbaked nightmare horror Can't look away. It's like this is really happening. It's in the sunlight. It's right there on that note. We will. Now take it to you. This is the first true. The books we've had a sense are sweet bible. Dad went away on maternity leave but luckily he's been keeping up. He's been reading with us so we can actually do this again. This is where we talk about which was better the book that we've just read in this case duma key or the one prior in this case a lazy story early story. You know the i'm talking about. Yeah i've been saying licey. They say lease see on. The new tv series is specifically mentioned as a pronunciation note as lisi in the novel. It just looks so much like it should be said licey. I release story.

"That I wish they hadn't done but she Kaitlyn Dever man, give her all the parts make I she has such a career on ahead of her. I feel like it is not hyperbole to say she is the next Meryl Streep she is so amazing that even in this performative sort of like gag inducing monologue Fest. She's great. So just watch that section. She's so good. And then also on HBO Max I watched We Are Who We Are pronounced the director's name. That didn't call me by your name for me. Luca guadagnino guadagnino's. Thank you. Sure. I think he directs this entire series wage and also did some of the writing it shows that he directed the series. This is Jack Dylan Grazer who was Eddie in the it duology Jordan Christine Simone who this is her debut credit. She's wonderful Francesca Scorsese. That is Martin's younger youngest daughter. Wow, and Chloe. Chloe Sevigny always isn't good for them. And you know, I don't like her as a fashion person, but she's a great actor. Is this an 8 series 8 episode series? I don't know if it's just going to be limited or if they're trying for a second season. I don't know. It's about a military family. It's two moms in the son who moved from New York City to Italy because seven years character gets a promotion and she's going to be like Thursday. This leader. She's about to get a promotion to General grazers character's name is Fraser and he meets the other military brass on base. I have watched one and half episodes so far. Hey Lucas name again. What a new why didn't you he has such a wonderful like unpretentious but minimal style and he just really allows the beauty of wherever he is to take Center Stage without telling you what you're supposed to feel about it off. He lets the characters just be in the story. I love to watch his directing work. I think he is is so talented and Brilliant and interesting and he certainly has an aesthetic because if you look at Eddie from it, would you think that he looks anything like timothee chalamet or I you know, Timothy Oh my God, you could almost his Fraser and timothee chalamet silly. Oh the way they kind of you know, that that confidence of movement of a seventeen-year-old boy thought he captured with a Leo. Mhm. He gets the same thing with with uh grazers character's name is Fraser. And this is beautiful and it's good and I really cannot wait. There's only two I think there are only two episodes that have dropped for the other six episodes. I I get the feeling that it's kind of going to be the same amount of time told from different Pointe of views just from the titles of the episodes, but I could be wrong about that. The first two definitely are nice that sounds totally worth watching so good and home so worth watching on the absolute Flipside. I watched filthy rich on Hulu slash FX. This is based on a New Zealand series. It's completely vapid. It is about, you know, a family of evangelicals and it's supposed to be a soap opera. It can't decide what it wants to be. And so it's nothing it's completely forgettable. It's fast food of entertainment. Kim catrell is wasted Gerald McRaney isn't interesting. Juliette Lewis shows up in this person frigging reason and a whole bunch of other people that I have can't remember. It's basically the head of an Evangelical family dies in a plane crash or does he spoiler alert? He does not tell you that immediately and he ate turns out he had three illegitimate children and they bring them into the mix one of them. Once an MMA fighter ones a home drug dealer. He sells pot and one does internet porn..

"I didn't need to see Bette Midler perform a halfway decent one of those it's sad to see it feels like they just grabbed it down and said here, you know, we this is this is of the moment. Let's make this happen and let's it'll be super interesting and it's not and you can vary feel this I'm doing a monologue the theater aspect of it and I always have a problem with theater in filmed that way and it's not great. It is all of the cliched reasons the That they the right hate us and I understand that's the point. I get it but it's not cute and it doesn't raise any awareness. And at one point I actually made the note about that Midler's character of I'm a great rich person and I'm showing my power through culture that I can buy and that makes me Brave and I just wanted to scream shut off. Oh God her and I love Bette Midler and I hate saying that's I and think she's really trying to do the Lord's work in the world and life is a Force for good. So I hate saying this but it literally made me angry. I I powered through I got two two levies and his was better. He plays an actor a queer actor who has sort of sold himself up the river to Hollywood to try and play a queer superhero his better song. Paulson is okay good. I still like her and then you get to Kaitlyn Dever. And Kaitlyn Dever is just such an actor. She's such a man a chiral performer that even though I agree I was done at this point. She had me crying. "I watched I'm not going back also was clamoring for the origin story of nurse ratchet. Like what is this song really at that point? You're like, I don't know honey on HBO Max. I did watch Coastal Elites. Okay, this starts out so performative and it's like every bad audition monologue that you have ever watched your friends do for you before they go to an audition. Not Spoiling it completely. But it's not really spoiling much. Because he's in the movie for like three seconds and clearly doesn't say either. Yes he does. He does the voice from the video game. Oh that's so cool. That's when I the design all the backlash on the design of Sonic none of Africa Tales. Tales looks fantastic and already fixed on it right with the other one. Good old red anteater of music a bad ass. So Sonic is annoyingly. Cocky but these cocking is I know not to create okay so yeah so the Rock plane knuckles I dig it. That's cool yeah. I'm not really using knuckles. Fan was a little bit. After I stopped playing. Gotcha but I know how popular he is so I see him being and the rock of course. You always want the rock doing everything. Last bit of news is the most exciting news for me. Any gamers here. I Know Janis done lightly. So do you guys the last of us? Yeah so last of us is is my top. My top three favorite games of all time because it is a game that is so so detailed in its narrative and story. And I'm not going to spoil it if you guys ever decide to sit down and play it. But as one of the most heartbreaking openings of a video game I've ever seen and it's a post post apocalyptic game Zombie Apocalypse has taken over and it's to a guy a man and a man in a little girl surviving. That's pretty much the game but along the along the way they meet people and things happen. I won't pull anything else but it's not going to be a movie it's going to be an HBO series. Which I love that. Because it's a long game and I feel like with a series. They can really really pay attention to the detail of the game now. Who Do you think if you guys have anything to top of your head would play the two main characters Joel? Joel and Ellie. How old is the girl supposed to be but thirteen? Thirteen to fifteen. And Joel's in his mid forty she brunette hair blonde cheesy Brunette. I have a list. I I did a list before the podcast and someone that I saw the Internet. Go crazy for that. I think would work. But I don't know if you've got nothing stark give you mine. Was once back backstory on that the movie was first projected to be an a theatrical release in twenty fourteen as she was going to be. Ellie and I thought that low sure action. She's tool now. True looks more but yeah okay so I saw this online and I like it a little bit Kaitlyn Dever Okay and Oh my God Jamie Lancaster. Ooh and the HBO Connection Yeah. Yeah yeah tools for though Tele Shalin. She's like in her twenties. She eighteen or nineteen now. I think she's she looks young so she could let me see the other ones that are for Ellie Sadie sink from stranger things she plays Max okay and so so fearless from it. Ooh Beth. I think she's perfect age. Dad Cool but now I wanna tell you I think well I'm GonNa tell you my last one the perfect pair and I see this online. That's just something that I saw from watching a movie. So I think the perfect pairing is Hugh Jackman. And Daphne keen you suck David Line. I saw it online. She literally prefacing. I saw someone and I really liked it. The way like paired up like the both of them. It was perfect. So Yeah Hugh Jackman and Daphne King. Where my choices? I'm sorry thank you. You guys should get your ass to a playstation play the game highly highly recommended co-worker you kind of he still. She will get a lot more. There's a lot dialogue for her so she could do it. I don't she's tell speak that much English I think by now she probably is so but regard. I do that casting. We should find out very relatively soon. And just don't let it be Mark Wahlberg and I'll be happy boy and then last British. Okay so not news. But quite pleased had there's for screening nice reactions are amazing night on the level of the first one if not more tents house Kilian Murphy being reviewed and they saying he does really does put on the scarecrow mask if you guys are wondering the Lord. I was waiting for that. I know you guys are wondering so much. Batman in this episode is that we haven't talked about that time. This is fantastic. It is the movie comes on March Twentieth Jenny and I are catching it on Sunday. So we have a screening this week and we are under embargo for full reviews but I'll let social media no my thoughts after the movie so that brings us to our main topic for today is our animated films. This is the hardest list I've done in twenty twenty but okay speak you right. Thank you I appreciate the love there. Yeah so this list is eighty all jokes aside. This is a really hard listed. You because when you really put all the studios together it just shows how despite the fact that Disney is all number one with the bully animated films have gone. Come a long way through different different studios so this is really hard for me So let's get started with some honorable mentions and I originally had five but I have seven. Hold on we're gonNA tell the audience that we're going to go through originally folks when we thought of this concept it was a top ten best animated movies of all time. A lot of my co hosts hear me They were having a really difficult time. A dwindling it down to ten so we came up with a compromise to say fifteen top. Ten and five honorable mentions which seems our dear against main host. Here kidding really adhere to why did I have ten minutes? You really couldn't take two more away now. I couldn't find I won't we'll take one away. They're done now. At this point you might as well just say the whole list. But I'm saying like you really couldn't out of those five seven vinyl center all tied couldn't like no because there's something that I really like. All these movies are good amount and so no. I could not have done that. Okay so tell us your seven. Shrek as an honorable mention inside out is an honorable mention. Interesting Cocos and honorable mention again. The lego movie is going to be divorced tonight for sure. The lego movies and honorable mention. Yeah really Tokyo's an honorable mention. Ooh and and here's where listeners. Decide to hate me even more the Little Mermaid's and honorable mention. I can't get kicked off your own. Podcast I think I am produces this. Podcast it's okay. Yes that's my list unique. I have three of those honorable. Mentions on your list. I won't tell you which one are on my ten. I think this whole you know. That's a lot of people on your honorable mentions are on my list. Yes so David so. My number ten is up. It's ten. Wow this thing played at our wedding and number two there would have thought at least it made. Okay tell me more so yes so up has probably the sat is Disney moment of all time and I think the saddest moment and animated film history is really said. It's sad but I don't think it's the I don't think there's anything sauces. I think this is Bambi for an older generation. Walk gotTa hear. Mp's vanities MOM's death is still the most conic not hear what I just said for an older generation not in fact us because it never affected me and now way for someone older in that when animation was really just getting started at whatever. I forgot what you're Bambi is. I have to look it up but that was a big deal. It's still I- conic in that sense. Yeah so yeah your huge Mr Like. Remember the history of film type thing. So yeah the credit credit zoo Bambi. Mom's death is still like top so yeah sure I realize one thing ladies and gents I messed up my ten and nine. My nine is up ten does that do I get brownie points for being one is maybe a run through my number. One number two And Mr Fox was Anderson. I'm actually surprised I saw this on a when I was doing research for this. I saw that actually on the list of a lot of people's like number one so I am surprised that you have so it is. It is so so good and not a fan of stop motion. This is a stop for the Chris. Release like the classic Christmas movies. Yeah Yeah Yeah I mean up has more significance for me for breezes. I'll get into in a second fantastic. Mr Fox is just a fantastic. Well done say that. We're just say the word. I'd like to give a shout out to Mr freeze because I would never be able to do the puns that I do on the show without his his great work in Batman and Robin and I think it's the attention to detail in the movie and the performances. The zombies fantastic the main the main the husband and wife Fox is George Clooney and Meryl Streep. That's all you need to say. Wow the movie is so good in Bill. Murray is in every single wes anderson movie. He is hilarious as always. He's so rape or Mudgene or he's not repeat they'll talk about bill. Murray like that but yeah I've got to say too much curmudgeon. I can't really say too much about it because none of you guys have seen it but if you guys missed fantastic. Mr Fox says Jenny sees on all these lists. It is well worth. I definitely will watch it available on the criterion collection. If you guys haven't seen it all right so back to my number nine. Which is my favorite scene in. The movie is actually the most depressing part of the movie. I here's why I think it's the saddest moments of any Disney movie because it literally stuck shows the beginning of a relationship and then ended a relationship. It wasn't a sudden death spoiler. It's ten years old. It wasn't a sudden death. They live their life together and she passed away before he did and he just doesn't know what to do with his life. If that's not heartbreak I don't know what is and it's not a fucking dear getting killed and it's not a lying getting killed real people having a real relationship. Fight me wow points. Animals are still very European reality buying suddenly due to murder. I think I care more about that. That opening on to this one more. I give release more because I'm a human being who wants to a Mary now and I'd be sad if one of US goes so. Yes okay. Look it's your lists. Try About David dying all the time for she very upset sometimes when I started to think about it my number eight I think is not on a lot of people's list I don't know why but my number eight is wally. I think I love you so much I want. I literally want to hug you right now. And we're best friends again because later. Absolute thank you so my number eight is wally it is. I think it's one of those movies. That it progressively aged really really. Well considering we're pretty much going into that were seriously I mean it touches on a lot of teams? Yeah outside of just the loneliness and it touches on like how complacent we are as a society absolutely and I think people just don't realize the people that don't like wally what I've noticed a complaints are that. Oh you know he. He's by himself. If just a robot that just picks up garbage for like forty five minutes on my no you if you sit there and pay attention. It's about this..

"Lively Zimmer had promised things like personal videos. DMZ for cash donations without actually following. Through after the scandals Zimmer went went dark wiping his youtube and instagram accounts where he had around one million followers and remained silent for almost two years. So another thing that the article doesn't mention that I found found from the original article was apparently at the time where he went dark on social media. He had a fiancee named Jamie rose. Who was also popular on the APP and when this all all happened and went down she also deleted all of her social media presence? And here's where things get actually freaky in October. Two Thousand Nineteen Zimmer subtly returned with the post about an actor named Troy Becker who looks Exactly like him. Him As impulse Zimmer. He writes this actor at Torrey. Becker I literally looks like a younger sexier version of meat crying laughing face. I don't even use social media anymore but I had to post. ha ha ha. Zimmer wrote Bekker's Instagram Tag. By Zimmer showed an account with very few followers which Becker with Becker saying only that he was less to be filming my TV show Zimmer them followed up a few players to say that he was retired from social media but would be giving his accounts and their followers to Becker and he wrote wrote because he's one of the dope is people I know he's literally my younger twin. My much younger twin I believe tries fifteen or sixteen years old and Morote not only did it. Seem like Zimmer was trying pretty poorly it must be said to rebrand from an influence or to an actor by pretending to be another person but that person was very much much purportedly a teenager. This announcement post like the first one he made about. Becker also showed Zimmer with a beard seemingly to make him look older so if. You're not getting the gist of that. Basically Zimmer seems to have made this other fake account called Troy Becker that supposed to be a teenager but really. It's just pictures of current day Zimmer. Who to remind you? Twenty four years old so beyond the two accounts having super similar writing styles Internet sluice found photos of Choi Becker on Instagram mccollum l. a. based acting school called the Heller approach in June. Four months before Zimmer reappeared more evidence supporting getting the idea that Zimmer was indeed simply trying to legitimize himself for his new career with a hilarious shotty griff te furthermore I got this from the original article Michael from the New Statesman which says bekker's IMDB page indicates that the actor Bay of had doubts of his own while in its current state. It includes very little information. A cash aid version shows that troy. BEKKER's nickname was Paul Zimmer. The pages cash shade. A week before Zimmer did his original side by side with his supposed- d'appel gainer. Now you know we love scammer on this podcast and this is a new breed. If I've ever seen one so the cut goes on to write that there is now hundreds of comments. It's on Troy. Bekker's tick tock saying things like Paul. It's really creepy you're pretending to be sixteen. CEO of pretending to be a different person so allegedly trae. His still posting tick talks where he marvels that people think him Paul lookalike so so the cut insists was saying. Why did this man thinking he had to stop being a tick tock? Sorry to become an actor. Why didn't he changed his name? Why did he want to become a teenager? Why did he think this work? I have so many questions and get them might break the magic that is how simply fucking weird. The story is and it's so weird like this man needs help to change us dirig- behavior because this is a new one. I mean but this is the problem with Internet. Culture is by doing this. Deranged deranged behavior. You become known as someone who is like kind of in the fifteen year old culture I have never heard of this man before and now I saying involved now. I'm following the stupid story. So you know what. Maybe he's more genius credit for honestly like maybe he made this just easy enough to figure out that it would get people talking about how crazy is and he wins in the end. So the original article was updated to note that Zimmer deleted his instagram accounts lead his talks as troy and changes. Tick Tock handle. So I'm really fascinated to see what this dude duck does does next because it's hard for me to imagine someone in his age in this day and age completely abandoning millions of followers lowers Because that's the moneymakers these days. Let's be real. Having followers equates to money equates to add money equates to deals so him him just sort of getting rid of them and then kind of starting this new scandal for himself. 'cause I swear if he had just gone off the map for a couple years and come back on people probably would have forgot about his past buggery. Because there's so much other fucker in the world and a lot of social media do way worse I mean. I got the impression that he was kind of running. It was like a cameo situation this lively APP and Cameos that thing where you can pay celebs to do a message for you and I feel like he was just not falling falling through with giving his messages or whatever it was so while. That's really shitty bad business. I think that he probably had oil. Enough fans that this it could have been remedied and it said he just went this in seen route. So who knows next article is I really thought he was going to kill me and bury remind body. A romance author accused her husband opposing. Her was at her wildest fiction. Yet by Leila Shapiro so this articles our request from Virginia we. We haven't southern Virginia requested awhile. It's good to have you back girl and I have to say this combines a lot of things I like true crime fiction novels and not just fiction novels levels but paranormal romance novels twilight. Who Intrigue Drama? Amin told me all like that Shit. So this lady's name was Sherry Kenya. Hit and I have to admit I was going to go into this article more but the more I got into it in the more I read the comments I started just feeling kind of bad in dirty about the whole situation but I still figured it was worth giving you guys a little bit of a plotline scenario so that if you want to look into it more if you WanNa honoree the article you can and this is on boulter which is a sister article or I'm sorry a sister vertical to the cut. We've we've covered some of their stuff before like the hallmark comic con thing if you remember that so basically she alleges that her hus- her even Sherry Kenya and like I said she was author of Paranormal Romances and she alleges that her husband and one of performer. SYSTENS hatched a Shakespearean plot to murder her by poison so she filed this complaint on nine months after her husband had sued for the divorce and it was like this crazy complaint just with all of these weird details and and basically talking about the rudeness of the assistant sustain and how she was kind of interfering with business but the really shocking stuff was that she alleged her hearing teeth are falling out because and she developed Kazuya tremors orientational bone loss facial swelling and tastes which she attributed to this poisoning by her husband and so the author of this Article wince Authors House which was the same when she had previously lived with her husband. She has a Bengal cat there. There's little statues of fairies Wizards Raven skulls and the author of the article is actually at the House for three days and based on her description this lady had definitely a flair for the dramatic but one of her sons nineteen year old was on her side she. He says his name's Ian he says it definitely happens. There's so much evidence. So he believed saved his his mom and as an aside. There's a picture of Miss Kenyon as a young woman and shoe so looks like Kaitlyn Dever from book smart so so. If this Shit's made into a movie I nominate Caitlyn to play her So part of his I want to share. Yeah this is because this ladies are writing is just hilarious. So she kind of came to be known for the as the Volcker rights dirty and bitten inventiveness of her sex scenes where she talks about the heroine's cat allergy becoming an issue when she goes down on a half feline where hunter she sneezes sneezes but persevered some things are worth suffering for she notes guys. That's worse than the Bazo tax. We talked about in the most curse things as of two thousand nineteen like. That's an image can't get on my head so I wanted you to have that and this lady was just straight up Kirke quirky. She'd go to fan conventions she be really great at remembering all the fans that approached her and one time she was apparently wearing a three foot. Fo- Black Swan as a hat and and allegedly nora. Roberts who's a famous person in that genre took offense and said it was unprofessional but the thing was by two thousand on eleven. Miss Kenyon was big shit tons of money. She was doing really well with her romance novels near really successful. So but this is the part. It comes Kinda sketch you don't know who side to be on. I would definitely say the author of this article did not believe Sherry Kenyan so I felt like it was a little biased and and she writes that there was in a lab. You know who you believe it depends on who you believe whether there is an elaborate conspiracy but she against the other side of what I took away that the author things happen so I thought this was pretty juicy because Sherry. Kenyan decided that one of her rivals was Cassandra Clare who writes fiction about shadow hunters and they have powers invite teams as an aside her series as the infernal devices. Cassandra Clair's is one of my favorite. Why novel series and I think she might be one of my sister? Danny's all time favorite authors. So it seems like Miss Kenyon got jealous a Claire and there was another song called cable who he does not believe his mom and she says is that she'd stop around. She Call Cassandra walking Hor so in. Two Thousand Sixteen Sherry filed a lawsuit against Clare saying let Claire Stole Her ideas and a lot of the literary community took clarice side on this and it was kind of a point where from people's accounts Sheri's mental health surge decline and. This is when the divorce papers were served. She didn't appear to be well at conventions. Her book sales were flailing and I thought this was another juicy part is the author of this article was trying to get quotes from people who worked with her and she gets one of them on.

"Can check that out at my website. That's quick. Stir dot net today. I'm going to be looking at a film. That's out there in theaters. It is called book, smart, teen comedy. It is an are rated film. It does have strong sexual content language throughout drug use and drinking involving teens the run time is an hour and forty two minutes. Beanie Feldstein Kaitlyn. Dever Schuyler Casado, Jessica Williams, Noah Galvin. Mason, Gooding Jason steak is Billy Lord. Lisa Kudrow will forte quite a big cast, here Olivia Wilde. Child is the director the screenplay credited to four women Susanna Fogel, Emily Halpern. Sarah Haskins, and Katie Silberman now Olivia Wilde force. The famous actress making her feature film directing debut with book smart. She's been dabbling in the craft. She made a couple of music videos and a couple of short films. But now, she has book smart, her first big film. It's a daring and confident debut, I would say likely going to have many encouraging the appealing actress to spend some more time behind the cameras book smart is at its core, just, you know, another high school comedy about misfit teens there in the Los Angeles area trying to be cool. And, and they're on the verge of go into college. And whatever lies in waiting beyond graduation day, here BFF's and Amy. They busted their tails off academically, author highschool to try to set themselves up for post graduation excellence. Molly's been accepted to Yale Amy's going on a mission before she goes to college to help the poor. In Africa, their world, though gets rocked when they soon realized that the kids around them that look like the just lived to party. They're also going to similarly, great colleges, and those that aren't have lucrative careers waiting for them right after high school. They're upset that they sacrifice all their fun and ended up reaping the same rewards as everybody else around the mullion, Amy the to go out. They wanna have a blast finally break some rules at the biggest house party in town for their last night in high school before graduation. However, they soon learn a few things about life themselves, and one another in their pursuit of this party, especially in how things don't always go according to plan now, as you can probably tell from that synopsis. This is fairly standard fodder for high school comedies. Each generation seems to recycle these things at least ever since the nineteen eighties. However, this is one case where the uniqueness in the journey that you take as far more enjoyable than the familiar sites that you're going to see along the way. Day book smart here, it goes for a lot of laughs with an impressive amount of Zini energy, that's likely going to keep viewers amused by the proceedings, even if there aren't so many moments and inspire genuine belly laughs and guffaws. I think I laughed out loud, all of two times at something that occurs within this movie. I doubt even the most stoic among us could refrain from erupting and laughter at the capper to the watching porn in the taxi sequence. However, even if I didn't laugh out loud. I never found the attempts at humor to overreach to the point where it breaks allusion of being in these situations. It's one of those movies that keeps me interested and amused. Even if I don't find all of the jokes to be hull areas, it's a fun movie. Although book smart would seem like the work of someone with a singular vision. The screenplay as I mentioned is credited to four writers. Keady Silberman, Silberman wrote, a film that came out earlier this year. This clever owed to remanded comedies called, isn't it? Romantic. Susanna Fogel who directed and co scripted the. I think under appreciated twenty eighteen buddy comedy called the spy who dumped me yet to veteran TV writers also who work frequently together, Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. They had written the original screenplay before the other writers did those rewrites, and while the premise that they all deliver is well covered ground in American films, where they score a share of uniqueness is in the richness of the characterizations that they provide no one on the screen seems like the aren't distinct and individual people this world of teenagers. Feels completely lived in. There's a sense that all of these characters have known each other and a variety of capacities for many, many years now, some might have a tendency to call book, smart, a female lead version of super bad, and while the two films do share some similarities that make it easy to draw some parallels book smart, I think, is sufficiently different in many respects to avoid being called some sort of rip off or attempt to emulate. I mean Molly and Amy here are not awkward dufuses, who are seen as generally. Cool to the point where they aren't invited to the best parties, the girls are almost the exact opposite. They think themselves as to focused and determined to waste their time trying to have fun and spend time with a bunch of fellow students going nowhere the plan to go in life or so. They think if they're not invited to a party. It's probably because they've said, no, so many times that they're just not asked any longer. So you also get the sense to Olivia Wilde here truly loves her characters. She wants to be strong and confident even if they may fail to achieve what they said out to do. Unlike many teen comedy set merely set their characters up as complete failures from the outset at everything it somehow by chance, they get what they want in the end by being good people, some might say that book smart also represents this generation's clueless as well, especially the perceptible levels of affluence among the youth, that we do follow in this film, perhaps that's also apt, given that the film has an innate bullions that seems to own the moment that it's made in captures the youth of twenty nine thousand nine the same Same way. way that Amy heckling did so well in the mid nineteen nineties, certainly given the social posture in the belief system of the kids in book smart. This is a movie that could not have come out to represent any previous generation. So it is unique in that way. And although not ostentatious about it. It does try to raise awareness about the next generation, generally being more. So called woke than the last embracing each other for their differences that once used to mean being ostracized in high school, you can be cool and still be a nerd and you can be any ethnicity or gender. You can come out to express your sexuality without need to fear from your own peers. This also celebrates being proud of who you are. And there's no shame in having empowering role models that you identify with the two league characters are very proud of great women who've paved the way for other women like them to succeed in the world. That hasn't always been accepting some of this feels a bit idealized Jessica William's character of MS fine steps, right out of an assembly line of cool teach. That commonly exists in movies like this to provide proper guidance when needed in the absence of just about any other adult role model to be found between her Amy's parents who are preparing the most elaborate in-home graduation meal ever a principal played by Jason sued aches, who happens to be a liberal wild real life partner, and the pizza delivery guy, the adults in this film, really seemed, like once whose lives are passing them by, in some former fashion. They've had their day. They live a little bit more vicariously through the young people. As for the kids, it seems like they're already living the high life. They throw murder mystery parties. They have yacht parties. They're also not going to be readily identifiable. I think for most people to have experienced this. This is a very unique thing for a certain segment of Los Angeles. I live not far from where this film takes place. In fact, I've been there many times there seems to be more of a connection to the Arabia's tablet. Hollywood crowd of industry creators than it does coming from a bunch of teenagers from anywhere, who just want the night to blow off some last minute. Steam. It's still, I think in the film's favorites. Also, not a movie that tries for realism nets really evidenced by this extended, stop motion animation sequence within the heart of this movie in which the two main characters have experienced drugs for the first time, then the imagine themselves having turned into plastic dolls, making for, I think one of the most memorable scenes within the film I'd be remiss in my assessment of book smart, if I didn't give praise to the actors involved, especially Feldstein endeavor for jumping headfirst into these roles and making them extremely likeable in very three dimensional their chemistry together is palpable. And it's just fun to see those connections that they share, you know, I would probably find them entertaining to observe no matter what they may be doing in life. And yet there's still some friction between them. It feels real when things end up boiling over at some point it's earned because we sense that they've been living with each other's annoyances for a very long time. Just. Like most best friends do for the sake of keeping peace within their friendship and preparation for their rolls really did pay off Libya wild in order to make sure that these two girls felt like they actually really did know each other had these actresses live together for about ten weeks and do everything together drive together, eat together, whatever so that they would naturally feel comfortable with one, another in a way that best friend might the rest of the character actors are very nicely cast as well. None of them seem like the aren't thought out in terms of their personality, even if they aren't getting as much screen time to show very, many facets beyond what's needed for each scene. It does come out through the course of all of these side characters that nothing is truly what it might seem from just outward appearances. It's kind of interesting to note here that the two characters who are the ones who are so called book smart and hence, the title of the film have to learn sometimes the hard way that they shouldn't be so quick to judge a book by its cover book smart. Like its main characters. It's bold. It's brash its intelligent. It's confident. It's unapologetic. It's offbeat and full of interesting things to say it may not always deliver as many laugh says, it may actually be trying to achieve, and it might be a little bit too frenetic in its energy level for some people who to be able to properly get in sync with. But I think it has more than its share of refreshing moments to make a movie worth seeking out for a fun time, celebrating the next generation, the so called generation Z who are on the verge busting out to the world to find themselves. The world does seem a better place with anyone who might resemble Amy in Mali ended perhaps they will be the next role models pinned to the wall of the following generation of girls to emulate. So I'm gonna give book smart three and a half stars out of four three and a half stars on my skill means. I do recommend it. I think it's a good movie, and if any of what I've said, sounds of interest to you, I doing courage to go. Check it out. Three stars out of four four book smart. Thanks every. Win for listening hope that you enjoy this review..

"Seniors who on the night before graduation, finally decide to stop hitting the books and go party are critic at large. John powers says that the movie stars some new ingredients into an old formula. What we think of his teen movies, come in two basic kinds, you have the thoughtful ones that win awards and actually seem to VIN made for parents. A good example is eighth grade a film that most eighth graders wouldn't go to on a dare. And then you have the breezy irresponsible, rumps like ferris Buehler's day off dazed, and confused and super bad. You know, the ones the teenagers enjoy, although it's titled may suggest otherwise the new movie book smart is unabashedly. One of the latter marking the director. Oriel debut of actress Olivia Wilde, this lighthearted profoundly, unrealistic, crowd-pleaser ticks familiar, Hollywood premise, and then gives it an unconventional female Centric. Twirl. Set in the twenty four hours before graduation, Looksmart charts. The adventures of two brainy best friends, there's the bussey, Yale bound, Molly Zipoli played by Bennie Feldstein, who already has her entire career mapped out, and there's the quieter more pliable, Amy played with equal skill by Kaitlyn Dever, who has come out as a lesbian, albeit to no great effect after years of being mocked by the cool kids this perpetual ace students who share everything including sharp comic, timing, fear, that they've wasted their high school years studying here, my suggest that they correct this mistake by going to a party thrown by a handsome, classmate named Nick whom she derides for being dumb, but secretly desires. It took a party tonight. What let's go to Nick's party. Are you kidding way? Only have one night left who have studied and partied in highschool. Otherwise, we're just going to be the girls that missed out. We haven't done anything. We haven't broken any rule. Okay. We've broken a lot of rules, one with these state college ideas, we can get into their twenty four hour library name one person whose life was so much better. Because the broke couple of rule. That's he broke art roles name, personal Boca real, whereas parks naming the Anthony dammit, putting their big brains on hold Molly and Amy Dahl themselves up and Sally forth to Knicks party on the way the night cockeyed odyssey that carries them to several other parties, where the encounter other oddballs from their senior class. The clueless rich voi- sweetly, played by Schuyler onto who has everything except friends, the theater guy that's Noah Galvin whose putting on an immersive play in his home and the perma sunk. Party girl. That's Billy lured who no matter where Molly. And Amy go is always somehow already there. All of this might sound par for a high school movie. And in many ways, it is book, smart office. The familiar split between the in kids in the outs the obligatory drug scene in barf ING, not to mention the cartoonish vision of adults Amy's goofy benevolent mom and dad played by Lisa Kudrow, and we'll forty seemed like refugees from an SNL skit, there Bruns in urine for the grownups in, Greta gerwig ladybird who's greeter emotional resonance was inseparable from the wounding tension between young and old. Then again wildest making different kind of movie more commercial less personal and by those standards. It's impressive. How book smart tweaks convention, starting with gender scripted by four women. This tale of deep female friendship, and the ways it's tested doesn't seek to compete with the guys in the raunch department. The dialogue is less course and the handling of sex. Don't even ask me about the stuff Pandit is weirder, more convoluted and less wish fulfilling then in the countless male versions, we've all seen book smart avoids, the oppressively rigid notion of social, caste the defines most high school movies with their mean girls and thuggish jocks geeks by their ankles and dunk their heads in the toilet. Yes. Some students say, cutting things, but there are no real villains, and none of the vicious bigotry of race class gender and personal style that I remember from high school. It's no big deal that any is gay and has a crush on a skateboard chick indeed. The movie brims of the twenty nineteen cents of inclusiveness that as a friend remarked, feels, positively utopian, it's set in a Senator world, with gentler high schools, then the one, we actually live over the course of their crazy night out, the judgmental, Molly comes to realize that nobody is quite, what they seem, which is an idea that we can extend the film's director, just as grew became famous playing the Daffy girl. So wild is known for roles that prize her looks over her intelligence yet, let grew she's clearly paid attention to what was happening behind the cameras. She was performing for him. She's film smart. Well, her movie isn't quite the comic triumph that some hyperbolic, critics may claim. It's a confident debut that when I saw, it got roars of laughter from teens and grownups alike. "You're listening to all things considered. I'm Joe Morgenstern. The film critic of the Wall Street Journal book smart beats all really who could have imagined that a high school comedy about a couple of high achievers would be the prodigy that it is nothing funnier smarter quicker. More joyous. Hit the big screen in a long time. It's an advanced placement course in the exuberance of youth. The heroines are best friends because of their brain Eunice, there missed it with the shared misapprehension that all the other kids in their senior class are perfect fit. Any is played by Kaitlyn Dever. She's the more conventionally endearing of the two although being gay this lovely and currently lonely teen has attained to think of herself as conventional anything. Molly played by beanie Feldstein is the class valedictorian. She is physically voluminous and. Resolutely straight. An old soul yearning to youth the premises simple on the day before graduation. Molly, and Amy realized to their hard that a everyone else's been having fun partying over the years. Well, they've been buried in books that can get into good colleges. Be more horrifyingly the party animals are also getting into good colleges and see even though it's the last possible night, this still time the two friends to have fun partying in high school to they just need to find the right party. Behold film is a party immoveable feast of Lebed Indus adolescence off center adult plus drug-laced interlude in acted by puppets. It moves faster than any events, at ridgemont high and draws Jenner g from the principle that no one is who they seem the first time director was Livia wha. While she's a fine actress. So it's no surprise that. She directs her actors extremely well beyond that, though, she turns out to be an ambitious filmmaker with the technique to fulfill around dishes, like her studious heroines. She has clearly done plenty of homework, but her directory debut doesn't recall specific films so much as singularly buoyant spirit that of France's long ago, new wave when filmmakers like prosper, Truffaut, and Gianluca. Dr made inventive little films, that reveled in the possibilities of the movie, medium, just as this film, does book smart as a high school comedy with a graduate degree vibrates with exotic life forms, rich kid, who wants to design airplanes. So he can use the money to produce original musicals because enough with all the revivals. Future yearly known as triple A, because she likes to give roadside assistance a failure at seventh grade. Math will be coating for mid six figures. Google a fragile beauty along the lines of Zelda, FitzGerald, who is everywhere at once, although not quite anywhere. Everyone is in flux and Affleck's of such intensity that it constitutes a wurley gig vision of the world that all of us live in..
