"Okay. This is a prestige day. I'm the sunlight. I could not hear none of the questions that all. I heard a very few of them. But i wasn't able to hear any of the questions over at the at the top. I mean you know well. People do like trivia cores. But wow so i moved to the lobby on number one. I'm sending you know where we came in. But on another side of the lobby Facing where the neighboring ship is dad. Wow i couldn't hear anything on. That was that was terrible. I was like how the people are painted. I don't know if they have something in a might do. I couldn't hear or anything like that. Or i don't know i just don't hand to hand all and now anyway so i got a. I still got the time to to laze while. I'm wayne to go get my haircut. Five thirty still have my lunch earlier. Oh boy. I definitely overdid it. Last night i overdid it. So yeah so. I don't know that they want people to have the fun ties that i guess i could still at for a copy of phone. Kyw dedicate default bullet. If i wanna go bed to Adhd and then after after the show then high. Want to interview the The piano guy for the broadcast and god. This is really. I don't know i don't know so. Yes so. I mean the hangout places. Were all nearby me on deck five obviously on day two and hang out places all close to me on their five. But if i wanted to go in we're full forward it's harder to go by the room because it's so confusing it's easier to get lost and the air is coming on here. So that's why you hear a lot of noises here but There's a lack of feuding when you go to the you go through the state rooms and then you know especially when you look at for yours okay and so when that happens you'll be like okay but i go now so my main thing is i'll go the five if i wanna go do anything forward and then my way back to like if i wanted to go to. The limelight allows for the show or vice versa. So you know even. Just hang out like i did but i still from the being tired of overdoing it lasts lou. Though so yeah so just hanging out hanging out still about two hours. Go get my haircut at the The land and not at allows the The spa and so yeah. I think there is a show tonight. I believe i'm not sure what i will double check. I'm not sure. But i know that the eight key show. I note that before that. But that's not the later i believe now. Yeah i think there is a show i think. I think i don't know so after my haircut. I am not sure. If i want to go to the first show or go to the second show and usually i use go to to show but i'll probably wait till the next crew license. I get more daring and get more used to say that we go to the to the second part of crews and these that way i'll know already know more about the share fan now how to get the things and Yeah no everything is at so full but at least i do know my hang out lots. Yeah i know. I know all and i'm gonna hang out and Shadow a huge shadow to the staff though and they could still make friends with this up here at the man was. There was a place of charge. My phone other than other than a statement. Promise if i had to wind up rushing back to the state run phone then. I'm going to be in there until talk me to get my haircut. And then i gotta go all the way back forward to do so but i need the phone from time to find out what time it is. I mean yeah. I could probably ask somebody but you know i need the phone the time and to figure out what the heck is going on now because like i said the mic was too low too low as far but the they the ban the other night i could hear the band perfectly perfectly and you know so i don't know anyway the day hanging out at the The lobby here. And i still done an hour before my haircut. I don't know. I know i could go back to my phone. I don't know yet so all right so this is dj out..

"David thank you so much for being here with us today and i'm excited to dive in because especially in your area of expertise you've been in marketing and training and development leadership and helping businesses with culture. There's there's a lot we can dive into. But the first question i wanna ask you is. What exactly is brand. We hear that more and more now recently kyw businesses have to focus on their brand and market their brand so in your words very simply what is brand. The brand is more why you do what you do you know. There's a lot of people out there that want to develop how they're going to be successful and how they're going to do what it is. They're they're gonna do but if you don't understand the why makes no difference so when you talk about brand you wanna talk about why you do the things that you do so that you understand that internally so that you understand that yourself. It's very difficult to put a plan together. If you don't understand why it is that you're trying to build towards where you're trying to so there seems to be salami clarify that because i think i know where you're going but that sounds very internal to the business right the all the employees. Here's why we do this. What is our why. Buy from us message. But when you're marketing that out okay. So someone who's in charge marketing there saying we'll grade. I know why we're doing what we do. Is that what they need to communicate or is it in a in tandem with how we deliver it meaning the customer experience customer service that the you know the interactions going to happen. Fantastic question when you're talking about a brand of brand is not something that you are going to try to to tell the public the brand is something that you need to bring your entire organization in from top to bottom and everybody needs to know why you're doing what you did right because once the organization understands why you're doing what you do..

So i have i think a customer and blah blah in front of them i think skies a couple of spots higher so i'm skipping over blog away and go into pretty simple for me another fight. I think aspen all at this point would be like probably at least minus two fifty favorite that maybe not too much higher because suck is good stuff But yeah asmara has the right idea. "Frank leboeuf and don hutchison with us. Reflect on chelsea's two nil victory over everton and stevie. I feel drawn to you. As one of thomas calls biggest critics. Surely now you get credit. And i don't understand this biggest critic. I'm just telling you the things that he's doing. Franklin paul was doing as well no to this game against them. There's no question they would a class above today. You know the to move the ball from the back to the medal to the front as fantastic right. Frank lampard teams will do that. The difference between this team and franks team is not given up goals. So now is a different. That's a big difference as a difference. But but the the two as is a frank was the manager of any of the team and the premier league. It wouldn't go side that's came to my argument because this chelsea would've league because they had a great defensive unit and how horrible patch yes denied up. No the going back to what we do. Best and far five scoring goals. The last name premier league games frontline. Bob was in charleston twelve goals. Guess war nine games friendly. The name games. The tickles beating child's guess. What twelve goals. In exactly the same as that is why i'm arguing. For frank lampard rushing tickled to buy goods. I'm just telling the goes against the eleven games. Defeats is the big caveat. Your argument the percent. Yeah tom without. Don't what do you think you agree. We'll stevie saying do not only thing i would say honest is. I was trying to be law towards franklin a good friend of mine and the job that don't watch chelsea and frank author vulnerable resolve torch. I wasn't sure what results that are going to get. They will fifty fifty game. Sometimes the majority of them went with him in someone against him. Breath sites almost took come in an extremely well. No eleven games in nine clean sheets. Dot is impressive. I thought that was that best performance against have that looked shop. Kyw hubbard's look fit a potentially cut out a couple of goals won't choke off for handball. Chalked off that it was an own goal but think this has been a change. I think in the mental illness to chelsea blows frank. Upn a big critic of since he made that big move from germany was this his best game in chelsea shirt today. Yes definitely i mean. It's an encouraging performance. Even if i think he can do much better. Because i him playing for liver kuzin last season i better than even today. So of course. I'm expecting a lot from a talented player and not because of the price that he's been paid he's been transferred you just because of the quality that he showed when he was being in the german league. I'm sure we can do much better. But he's on the way back to his best. And i wish him the best minnow. We don't have many things to say about that. Game jussie deserve to win. I think everton was really poor. Didn't show much during that game. He did what they knew. What to do emits defending well as as tv said and two goals and that's it and they are full five tennessee's bias especially to move to to school another goal but don't forget that we are waiting in the corner four chelsea by game that they had atletico and some of the games liverpool everton and the they won all those games so doing great on nothing much to say is not very entertaining but do the

Creating Faster, More Efficient Feedback Loops in Real-Time with UserTesting CTO, Kaj Van De Loo

"Welcome to another episode of it visionaries today. We have the chief technology officer of user testing. Kyw vande liu kai welcome to the show thank you. I'll right right to it user testing. The name seems obvious what it's four but tell us what is user testing the company. What do they offer what you guys do as you might guess. We have. Companies tests experiences wade uses with there could be karen customers. Potential customers partners employees at people have never heard of them. What have you so essentially anybody. Who's creating an experience can use our platform to get feedback integration process whether it's an early sketch one feedback on or design before you can start developing if it's throughout the development of the experience and of course experiences that already are out in the wild and being used anything in all of that that you want experience anything that you've created any experience you've created whether digital or physical that you want feedback. So that's what i want to dive into. Because that's what's fascinating because this isn't just a product that test software. You mentioned the physical in fact on your homepage. The user testing homepage. There is a woman clearly or to me clearly providing some type of feedback on a makeup product in. You just said it. Physical as well tells the big difference between because i think a lot of people here user testing and they started thinking of software centric application inside of my software. So imagine i. I am a software maker. I install another software inside of my software in attracts users. Attracts what they do. It gives me feedback loops of how they're interacting with software but user. Testing is a little bit different tells how your unique approach to testing both software has well as physical products and we compliment all these other forms of getting insights into how your product or how your experiences used by giving you heal human insights into what people actually think while they're doing this. So tha other tools. You can get insights into what people click on and how long they dwell on a particular page or whatever it is but we connect you die wick out to your customers or your users and they tell you they think out loud. They give you their personal feedback. We court everything they do record the face as well. It's almost like you're sitting there talking to someone when they try out experience you have created whether it's a website or mobile app or visit gates periods. So did this is like being. Would someone in their home wine. they about may be tried on and they talk to you they are. They're fantastic self. It's a vaguely human connection that you build their this week. They have spilled empathy in a way that will this data that we collect another ways can never do so. How does your role in back this experience. Your customer so use your testing. It sounds like you know if i if i were to start listening to podcasts. When ray beginning not too much idea in front of it it's now starting to sound like a marketplace. It sounds like if i bring you my product you have users that will play with intest the product. They're going to be willing to record themselves. It sounds like how does the technology of what user testing provide help narrow the gap for a. Let's say when your clients for them to collect feedback. How do you guys make their lives easier. Oh there's a lot of technology involved in this whole process of you getting to the interesting moments that matter to you understand how you can improve the experience you're providing it starts with the different ways that we can define audiences so you can bring your own test participants if you want if you have. Maybe your most loyal polled listeners. If you wanna hear from them what they think if you want to hear from people who have never heard of you we have a panel of many. Many people signed up who frequently take these tests and they check in and received or something available for them to to to test that you can relatively easily cover defined people who've never heard of us. We cannot support the south spectrum of your most loyal people out to people who've never heard of you and in all of this. This quite some sophistication in how we distribute tests out to potential participants at we try to target these tests as as we can so that the participants who are most interested and most likely to be good testers that we most likely to give good feedback that we target them with a particular test. So there's a lot of technology already in just how these how you find your audience. There's a lot of interesting technology and we're doing a lot of exciting work this area. At the moment how the experience gets a coded and then perhaps the most technology intensive area is around the analysis of the results. You get just five fifteen minute videos back. That's auto time for you to sit and listen and watch all of those but that's where we have a lot of machine. Learning we transcribe everything that people say. We analyzed the transcripts for strom emotions. We count entrusting moments. We analyzed if it's a web sized we can analyze the flow through the side. We can see where people have been clicking all of this than complements what they actually said any attempts guide you towards the highlights and we can automatically highlight wheels for you and so that you as yen user who's trying to produce a better experience that through get feedback nicely packaged.

Seattle to open more permanent COVID-19 vaccination sites in Rainier Beach, West Seattle, Lumen Field Event Center

"Been reporting how seattle is turning some of its testing sites into permanent vaccination sites starting today the rainier beach side is prepared to give about two thousand shots a week and so is second location in west seattle. Kyw's josh amac nickeled visited the rainier beach vaccination clinic today joshua high and describe this vaccination site for us well like every other side. It's open to people who are eligible. Mostly that means seniors over sixty five but there are a few other categories to like home health workers anyway. Everyone who shows up here has an appointment and they walk up and they check in at a table and then when it's their turn they passed. They passed through one of several shipping containers on a train or on the back of a truck and inside there is an administrator in a little booth. And there's someone from the fire department and that person gives you your shot and then you walk out the back of the shipping container into an outdoor area and then you hang out under a tent for like fifteen minutes with a view of the lake all right well. Did you get to speak to anyone there. Yeah i spoke to a lot of seniors there in the recovery tent. And they told me before today trying to get a vaccination appointment was a real chore. Roberta bird right said she couldn't sleep. She wanted an appointment so badly. Given times i wake up you know in the morning. Three o'clock two o'clock in during the throughout the day. And then of course the site that we look. It's like places. Like well up in tacoma and you know really far out. And i'm not going to those places so i just kept looking and looking so now opened up so she also got on wait lists at pharmacies and they told her they'd call but they never did and then she heard from a friend that the southeast seattle senior center was helping seniors make appointments and so she called. They called me back right away like within a few days and schedule being. I'm here bird right. Told me that she had concerns about the safety of the vaccine so it was reassuring for her to go through a community group. Yeah that's good news that roberta got her shot. And just you know. We've been hearing stories about grandkids helping their grandparents schedule. An appointment you know for a variety of reasons you know. Maybe the grandparents don't have a smartphone or computer or maybe like roberta's case the the grandparents are trying to just striking out but in this case it sounds like the senior center is stepping in. Yes and that is the strategy here. They're still far more demand for vaccines than there is supply and so these new vaccination sites are favoring referrals they're working closely with community groups and those groups are doing the outreach. Linda green runs the southeast seattle senior center. That's the group that helped this person earlier. Find their appointment and she says she got her staff spending all their time. Basically going after vaccination appointments for seniors. But it's hard because there just aren't enough vaccines so she said it feels like a competition. Well it's a competition because now we're have folks who are competing you've got the folks who are seventy five years old and older. We've got the sixty five year old. We've got those folks who are under fifty but are also caretakers for those who are sixty five and over or seventy and over. And i know that we have to start from the top the most vulnerable and work our way down but it still is somewhat competitive as to. Who's going to get it first. So all of those those areas we still have to define but we are of the opinion that the goal is for everyone to get vaccinated so whomever we can fit into that classification. That's what we're doing. Yeah and in that competition for vaccines. It helps to have a community group to help you get an appointment. But eventually officials tell me the problem will cease to be a vaccine shortage problem and will become a communication problem. You know trying to get enough people to show up and use all the vaccines right. And we're hearing. There will be more and more vaccinations slots opening up later as well and and another thing. We learned today. Josh was later this month. There's going to be another max. Vaccination site opening up in seattle At the former centurylink field now known as linfield yes and with that site. They're going to start small in the middle of the month but as soon as enough vaccines are on the way that site will be able to push out twenty one thousand vaccinations per day. They told me yeah. That sounds like a lot of shots. When is that going to be. They wouldn't say for sure. Only the it'll happen as soon as possible. And if you're a senior and you want to be proactive linda. Green at the southeast seattle senior center says give them a call. And they'll help you. You don't even have to be in seattle proper anywhere in king. County is fine and then of course you can also use the washington phase finder website. Which helped at least one senior here today.

"Two seattle police officers are on paid. Leave while the agency investigates whether they participated in last wednesday's riot at the us capitol. Here's kyw's amy radel. He says normally attending a political rally would be allowed under sp policies. I wanna be abundantly. Clear that officers don't abandon their first amendment rights just because they you know they become a police officer joined the seattle police department. That officers can't engage in activities that would undermine public trust even on their own time. Myer says many participants of last week's riot came with the intent to break the law by invading the building. Dude the officers involved engage in that were they actively planning they engage in. I'm pretty rally conversations that showed intensity so those are the things that we'd want to know. His investigation will determine whether the officers violated spd's policies on professionalism or discretion. He says it could take about two months. Amy radel k. u. o. w. news.

Can Seattle arts groups survive the pandemic?

"Corona virus is a public health crisis of course but it's also devastated the economy it's been especially destructive businesses that depend on people gathering together in person tourism restaurants and the arts. Kyw's arts and culture reporter. Marcy silman has been monitoring the health of the regional arts and culture community. She spoke with kim. Malcolm about what. We might see moving forward so marcy for the past couple of months. You've been doing some deep dive reporting on how the pandemic has impacted our cultural communities. How would you describe what you found across the board. Kim organizations are treading water. If they haven't already drowned you might remember last march. When governor inslee issued his social gathering restrictions. everyone had to shut down operations museums and some art galleries have started to welcome back visitors. But they're at twenty five percent of normal capacity which just does not sound sustainable. And marcy you and i've talked about how performing arts groups and musicians have been streaming content and how it just doesn't cover the costs for many of them. So what are arts leaders telling you about this pivot to digital when it doesn't pay the bills. Peter bowl who is the artistic director at pacific. Northwest ballet told me that he pivoted digital because he wanted to give some work to the dancers musicians backstage artisans and other staff who would otherwise be unemployed. According to a new study from the seattle advocacy group arts fund. Thousands of area of workers are still jobless and even though as we said. Some venues have reopened. This survey found only about nine percent of local artisans and been rehired many back part time or reduce salaries but kim beyond providing jobs. I think that this pandemic has really forced performing arts groups to reckon with the digital age in a way that they hadn't done before the pandemic kit. And what do you mean by that. Well for at least a decade arts groups have been trying to figure out how they compete with free or low cost online content that arts fund study that i mentioned found that every responding group plan to permanently integrate digital content into their arts program offerings the ceo of arts fund. Michael greer told me that's partly because audiences are really leery about heading into enclosed spaces with lots of people that component that new revenue component is going to be essential to kind of filling the void of individuals. Trepidation do moving back into the theaters or just a general reorganization of how society interacts with itself. Not even just in the arts bottom line marcie will most arts groups survived this pandemic. It's really hard to say for certain. But to quote the head of seattle's office of arts and culture randy angstrom. The sector is on the knife's edge getting people to value in compensate artists and creatives for their time was already a challenge. Then the pandemic it and it was devastating. And i think that that devastation was disproportionately felt by by park organizations and artists because they've been underinvested and undercapitalized for so long and i'll just note here by poc refers to artists who are black indigenous and people of color. What is happening with these communities. Well this summer one worries alicia. Johnston told me that they only have the funds to make it through the calendar year. I did check back with her earlier this week. And she says that right now. They've got about half the budget for twenty twenty. One heart of that came from contributions sparked by black lives matter but she told me those have tapered off and even though she describes herself as one worry self designated worrier about money. She's pretty hopeful that they'll raise the two hundred thousand dollars. They need to keep this community cultural center going. Marcy i know can county. And many private funds have funneled relief. Money to the arts sector. What are arts leader saying about what they need to survive. Many hope congress will enact another significant stimulus measure randy. Angst room would like to see a twenty first century version of the works progress administration. That was the depression era program that funded arts projects across the country. Local artists have already stepped up. And they've been making murals. And creating digital arts lessons plan for the public schools angstrom and many other folks think it's time to fairly compensate them for that work. And how optimistic is he that that might happen. I'm gonna let him answer that. I am hopeful because the creative community of the city gives me that help. I am hopeful because of the incredible resilience. I've seen and we need to meet that resilience with dollars and faith in their work but angstrom says the city cannot finance this on its own. They really need a major influx of federal dollars. At this point. Who knows when that's going to happen. We'll mercy speaking of resilience. I have to acknowledge. Even though i don't want to that this is most likely our last on air conversation about the arts as you retire from k. u. o. w. after a remarkable thirty five years. Marcy i just wanted to say thank you we're gonna miss you and all the attention and the advocacy for the arts. That you've paid Here in this part of the world. I'm just grateful for all the work and thankfully that still lives online. It does indeed. It's been migrate pleasure working with you as the all things considered host. And i'll miss you. And i won't be gone from the world of seattle's arts and culture still always keeping my eagle eye on it.

So I often call this program the first show of the rest of the day. Even though we're on in the evening some places at night. It's the first show of the rest of the day. They really is. When it comes to matters of the constitution and the declaration when it comes to matters of law when it comes to matters of of the political arena. This is the place to be and this is going to go on for a long time. And it's quite unfortunate. What's taking place in this society? You have allies Cummings who is all over TV. He goes unchallenged in any significant way. And these these committee chairman from these cities from these democrat controlled cities from these democrat party, boss controlled cities. They're all conspiring one another. They're all colluding. They're all sharing their subpoenas with each other. This is a multi-front attack on the president of the United States in the house of representatives a multi front attack. And of course, they know they'll get back up from the media, which is exactly what's happening. When this new book of mine on freedom of the press. I call the media the Democratic Party press. He might say that's not particularly new. It's not. But we need to call them that. And I go through some of the history of the press in this country. Significant cycles in how the press is conducted itself. And you know, what's interesting more times than not the press has conducted itself in a very negative way. We had the patriot press. I call it. The early men, but the printing presses who had to move the printing presses. So the colonial governors appointed by the crown. Wouldn't track them down? These were very very courageous patriots. And these. Early pressman where responsible for the early pamphlets and the early newspapers early on. In this country in the sixteen hundreds and early seventeen hundreds weren't many newspapers. They're more pamphlets of the newspapers. Even at the start of the revolutionary war. There about three dozen newspapers. That's it. But there were many, many, pamphlet tears. The most well known, of course, was Thomas Paine. But a lot took place before Thomas Paine came to the United States. A lot took place before the revolutionary war. A lot took place even before the lead up to the revolutionary war. The early printers. We're printing things like. Where it's for ministers pastors who challenged the orthodoxy. Of their particular church. And I don't mean they were anti God not in the least. But they were part of a reformation effort that was going on. And they were very courageous. A reformation effort that you don't see in parts of the Middle East. Are south East Asia. When it comes to religion. These men who. Who develop these printing presses brought them in from England, quite frankly, it was a very laborious task later. They would have typesetting, but that came later. Later. It was these men. Whose names, you don't know. But whose names you will know after you read my book. Who were the impetus for the American revolution? Before the revolution the lead up to the revolution. And during the revolution..

And and we've we've hit the marketing trail as well, we had an event last night in Little Rock, and and a lot of stuff going on here for sure must it's old hat. You've done this before you know, exactly what the drill is even if it's a different opportunity, and you gotta go about it a little bit differently. But let me ask you about this. You had a really good thing going in Nevada, obviously. And not a good thing. But a great thing you had them in the top ten you can compete the highest level there. I know you were not looking to leave. So what was it about this opportunity? The made it feel like it was a good move for you and your family. Number one. Jim is that you're right? I had a great situation in Nevada. And and the crowd was incredible fan. Support was awesome loved our players. But, but when you get an opportunity to coach in the SEC, and that at a special place like Arkansas with their history, and obviously winning the national championship. You know, it is it is the best conference, arguably even for basketball and the and the coaching in this league is is incredible. What the what they've done with their coaches throughout the league the last four years, and so I think for all those factors and then when you look at a conference like the SEC they're getting not just multiple teams but six team seven teams into the tournament. And then and then in a place like the mountain west, it's it's more difficult. You know, there's there's years where there's only one team in. And that's and that's the at large team. And then you got the, you know, the automatic bid. So maybe two teams get in. So I think for those reasons, and I think everybody wants to compete at the very highest level that you can. And and that's that's the challenge of coaching in the SEC right now laid out like that. It's a no brainer. Eric Muslims head coach in Arkansas before we talk more about the basketball point. I just wanna go back to the family because it is a family move. It is a family decision. So what's it like not only for you as a coach? But for the entire family to move from Nevada to Arkansas, well, Danielle and Mariah back in in Reno right now because mariah's got another two months of school, and and my son Michael flew back to the bay area. And he still got another month and a half. But my first recruiting challenge really Jim is is trying to get a Matthew you must've flipped from the university of San Diego, which is where he's supposed to go next year to Arkansas. So that's my. First recruiting challenge that I've got to try to figure out how to win and he came on campus and loved it. And and and then my other son, Michael be joining us here on staff, and and Danielle and mar Mariah extremely excited about getting back and and the family's pumped up and excited. Joining us, right. You got to recruit your own to come with you era. But I mean, he could clearly, and I know my son would say this. What about you? Oh, man. You went to San Diego. You played at San Diego watched. I go to Arkansas when you yourself went to San Diego, and I'm already on campus. Well, I will say this. He came and visited and absolutely loved it. And and you know, she he's actually trying to recruit a buddy to come here as well. So he might fingers crossed good Arab Muslim and joining us. Right. You mentioned the program the history of the program in Arkansas. And in that job is somebody who loves the game is somebody who loves the history of the game. What's it mean to you to be the head coach at Arkansas? Well, it's it's interesting last night at our event, you know, a fan came up and said, hey, when you were growing up, you know, what programs did you look up to emulate and right away without even thinking, I thought about the t shirts, I wore, you know, when I was younger, and quite frankly, it was UCLA UNLV and Arkansas those were the three teams that I can just name, you know, growing up players year after year for for style of play, you know, and and and and so. Just I think the history of of every all the great players when you think of the Sydney Moncrieff and the joke lines and the Patrick Beverley, and you could just go on and on and on with guys that have played at the next level from Arkansas. And it's it's a little bit different. You know at a place like Nevada. There's there's just a handful of guys that have played at that level. And and you look at a place like Arkansas, there's multiple multiple multiple year after year after year of guys that have played at that next level. Cindy, Moncrieff was such a class class players such class guy. Pat Beverley is one of my favorites. In fact, see Pat Beverley reach out to you on Twitter. And what would it mean for him to come back in embrace you and program as well? Well, let's it's been so interesting, Jim the the former players even Bobby Portis. I mean, he he ended up texting me and Patrick Beverley tech. He actually texted ended up calling him right after one of the games that they played, and you know, he wants to come back and work out. And so I think, you know, the pride with those guys that have played here is absolutely incredible. Corey back who played in the old CBA when I coached in. Corean? I have connected, and is really really neat. Tony Brown has been in the Sistan coach in the NBA and was a former NBA player played here. So connecting with these guys is I think it's going to be really important as well for the future of our program. Our turn guys and then recruits as well. Joining us now part of being coach in Arkansas. The hog call. I know you did your homework. How did you prepare for that? And how did you feel about the execution? I thought the execution was really good. Jim. It was I'm not gonna lie. So we were we were we were told we had to learn the hog call. And so what I did is we, you know, my family started, googling it. And I said hold on. We can't just Google fans. We gotta go straight to coach Chad Morrison. That's what we did was we went to his press conference. And we practiced practiced and we practice, and I think I'm getting better with each time. You do it. It's kind of like riding a bike and get a little bit better reps reps. Joining us. He's the head coach in Arkansas. Now, Eric you mentioned one of the first thing to do is re recruit the guys that you have you've talked with your players. How do you go about earning their trust? And you've talked to them about that. How do you do that? What you gotta be honest. You've gotta give players a plan going forward. You you've got to look at their game. You know, let them know what the positives are let them know areas of improvement, and then a plan on how they can improve. And we've just been so swamped doing promotional stuff, and and and press conferences and things like that that that's an area especially next week that I've got a really dive in with these guys. But I think you earned the trust. Really Jim just through guys seeing that you care and seeing that you're invested. I think those are the two words that I think kind of equal trust is. And then you gotta sweat like sweat equity with your guys. Meaning you're working with them. You're paying attention to detail and and giving them a platform to succeed in the platform to grow as players we're talking to Arab Muslim, and when you went to Nevada you went to a situation whether or not been a lot of success in the years before you got there. I know you've only now just arrived at Arkansas. But do you see similarities in the rebuilding work that you have there that you had Nevada? I think it's a little bit different. Because. You know, you're talking about a team last year that was two games over five hundred Mike, you know, coach Anderson's phenomenal coach you did a great job here over long extended periods of time. And he won a lot of games. I have tremendous respect for him. So it's it's not really a program that that that, you know, didn't have success because they did make an NIT. And so and we do have a lot of really good young players. I mean, it's a roster that has had a lot of freshmen and sophomores this year, and you hope that those younger players they certainly should make a big jump going into their south more junior year. So we are looking forward to continue grow with with the younger roster. And then and then try to add some pieces as well. We're talking. Moments. Here you mentioned this at the top. But I didn't get into it. But you were an assistant at LSU. So you're familiar with the SEC, but the conference has changed somewhat since you were last there, and when you run down the list to coaches, it's incredible John Calipari Bruce peril Rick Barnes. Frank Martin buzz Williams, Nate oats, stack is now in Mike white. I could go on how competitive is this group coaches. Absolutely incredible. It's it's I mean, the coaching from like you said five years ago is is is it's it's incredible. How much it's improved, and you know, because we played Florida in in the NC double A tournament. And like coach white is a really good coach. I mean, he knows how to control tempo and coach cow is one of the best coaches in all college basketball, and and the talent, but his an incredible coach of blending his talent getting them to play his one, and obviously what coach buzzes. At Jinya Texan credible in NATO had as good a run as any mid major coach the last several years in his teams have always played hard in our athletic. And so the league is really really really difficult. And it's it's a challenge. It's going to be a challenge every single night that you step between the lines. So when you were in the NBA both as head coach is insistent coach you, and I would talk a lot both on the air and off the college coaches who tried to make that transition..
