Instant the leg dealing nine damage. Who is going after brin near. Am i the only one left. I think i. I believe i think it's you and me. I'm just going to run away. You expand your full movement of fifteen feet and runaway. Yes except i would like to run away towards. I'm going to say thou okay. And has you in his grasp gosh so he lifts you up to his eye level about thirteen feet or so and then just crushes. You and has grasp dealing forty-four damage. Well that is going to be a of. I'm pretty sure going to minor wound barely. That's a crazy threshold as he crushes you and you feel your bones scraping against each other in the insides. I does a seventeen were yes off and then roll for attack. Twenty three that is a hit and then damage nineteen radiant damage. So it's a little clumsy you are able to get up to land the blow but your act sinks into his flash about a third of the way through his arm and is stuck there with you hanging on. It's not great. Who's going next as a reaction to seeing air. Do this pretty sweet move. And then this. His momentum get halted by the flesh of this guy's arm at is going to attempt to do little slash e slash with imagine at this guy's arm. See if you can make something happen here. Okay go for it and do do any special roles irs straight attack loves straight up attacking all right cool. I got an eighteen twenty one. These these are all my attacks with him. And i got an eighteen to twenty one and a thirteen and then unarmed i got a nineteen and a sixteen both unarmed hit on two out of three of the attacks of him and hit. Okay as i suspected imminent is going to do. Twenty four damage between the two attacks and the unarmed strikes are going to seventeen. And i'm going to use a key point to make to see if i can stun volcanoes. All right what is your. Dc the number to be sixteen k. So he did beat it but you dealt a hundred and sixty one damage to him. I'm gonna use one more key point and try to make the second arm strike a stunning strike. Alright right just needs to rollo. That's almost thirty. So i said he needed to roll low res banat one we need it ryan as you slash. At his body with these muscles that are so fragile bound to the bone and sinew intendant starts just kind of snap off of their places and are loosely hanging down from his body. Now that i've seen this person can i can. May i have a free insight check. I'm curious if i can intuit whether or not attacking this person that is exposed will end this faster you you can tell without having to really look that there's you don't have a clear shot at the person and doing so would be incredibly difficult. A fraud is really the only one that's able to see that there is a figure wreathed in muscle inside this creature okay. Cool savell doesn't even know that it's here that saves me a question mark. Ben cool how would like to use intense to try and reverse the effects that has been set on our friends who are being reduced in hp. Okay i think that's a great idea. "Twenty role. A ninety five on one hundred. You are unsuccessful as your unable to manifest exactly what you desire in this realm and that will expand your turn so brewers turn brin. You're seeing the efforts of his campaigns. And how much they're doing. He doesn't want feel left out. And so you continues to bash focused instead of instead of hitting his leg. This time he goes for the arm trying to mobilize it that twenty dealing twenty-three radiant damage. Hey as your war hammer strikes true smashing into this now slowly crippling form does a twenty one. Yes bruyneel near comes in again. After connecting with focuses arm bring brings his war him around and smashes into lucas's stomach dealing sixteen damage that hit connects right with his gut. And then you hear from behind you. Another burst of wind and almost shattering as air flies past you in a cold burst. That kelaniya has conjured inflicting on wall casts thirty eight points of damage and then she actually moved up just a little closer not within hitting range but maybe twenty feet or so away. Still volcanoes now takes Another sword this one broken in half already from his back and he takes it and he holds it aloft next to his hand and he stabs it into his palm and then rips it down up to his elbow and he just kind of sprinkles this blood that flows out with him on top of everyone within ten feet of him. Who is that then. I think that's later. Oats mic if ron and your so then spewing this acre about him all of you need to make constitution saving throws results seven k. That is fail. Twenty-one franck got a twenty two an mkx gut a twenty k. so mic and later outs are affected. But as this eckerd drips upon you you become slow so your movement speed will be cut in half you can only perform one action per turn you cannot perform bonus actions reactions and additionally you will lose ten points of your maximum. Hp every turn at the start of your turn volcanoes then reaches behind him once more grabs a sword from his back and just slams it down smashing right in front of him at bryn year for her does a twenty hit. It does not. Then you are able to sidestep this as the sword smashes into the ground and just disintegrates of explosion of rust and dust. It's a players. turn. Ken val go again. Go for it. How is this friend of ours looking. You can perform a free investigation. Check to get an appraisal of his health. Okay passive investigation. Helped me out. I think it would be you want me to. It'll be pretty high regardless. I think you should rule. Okay here. we go rolling twenty four. All right he seems to be still quite spry even in his disgusting decaying state. You've probably taken down a little less than half of his total tally all right. So what does value. I would like to cast disintegrate month spell. That seems to be this guy specialty so it does which. I'm hoping my thematically played in my favour here. He gets to make a dexterity saving throw critical fail ooh delicious. I already rolled my damage while everyone else. That's seventy seventy four damage from disintegrate. So you deal seventy damage to him and you see just bits of his flesh and even some of these weapons from his back. Just fall to the ground in these bits of dust that you've completely disintegrated choice. Is that offer valid. Turn oh yeah. I'm staying at and i don't have any bonus actions. Ken fron go. I've already whipped up all the roles. Do you take in back from. I will spend an action to take him in back. Take the first role that i got. Twenty six dealing nine damage. The second role was an eleven. And then i was making two unarmed strikes. The first one was a natural one and the second one was an eleven k. So what was your second attack with. 'em and you an eleven as well in eleven as well. Okay so you hit one and missed three yes. I rolled four times and the raw roles were lake. It was like one to two and nineteen like they were pretty bad. I kind of need advantage to anything as you. Stab 'em in into his leg again and rip it out. You deal fifty four damage but then with each of your successive strikes with your fists you do little on the first one little on the second. And then on the third you kinda punch through this blister of flash and you just smack right against the bone.

"Cold damage k which is doubled because it's cold and then i don't know what might good friend relend. Ears going to add to the sword spell is vowel going to try to like piggyback on this intent with his own or is it just gonna be relax efforts. I mean. I don't think vowel wants to roll a d one hundred. Which is i. But i mean i used my spell attack mon- so so brett rofer intent and add vowels intent score along with yours sweet. That's nice nine ten scores in eleven. Thirty three four my k. And then might d. One hundred is thirty. One great that is within the range so as this ice knife pierces into volcanoes flesh and then explodes dealing one hundred four damage the remainder of his armor completely shatters and just falls off of his form. He still has the swords that are grafted to his back however his chalky flash exposed for everyone to see he's basically a big naked giant elkin right now that's just decomposing in front of you. Falling apart. and he pulls two swords from his back and screams in rage. Congratulations you've reduced. His armor two zero five you brett. Who's next if ron is going to redeem himself. Seeing that numb nuts here is without armor. A fron is sparing no time in stabbing him. He's going to earn his honor back just like prince zuko but instead of caffeine the avatar is gonna try to stab him right in his exposed flesh tank go for it with yellow rough with the first role was only fourteen. Okay that is a mess. That's all right. I've got like four more. These did monk. Alright it's okay. It's okay because now i rolled a twenty five. That's a hit. So i got three hits that two hits with one of those being a credit yes and one hit with. Unarm strike the critic. Twenty-one davidge the other did thirteen and that was those with the two hits with him and how much from the unarmed strike now from the single armed strike was thirteen and then he missed his final attack so as you punch volcanoes for thirteen points of damage your fist connecting with his just cheering flash. I'm gonna go for stunning strike and just going to spend a key point for that for that one punch that i got on him. Okay so after inflicting these thirteen points a damage with your unarmed strike. You try to stun him and so he's got to constitution saving through kate. That is twenty-one not nearly twenty two sorry now but that passes kaz find so you strike him dealing thirteen points of damage. You're unable to stunned volcanoes and then you stab 'em in into his thigh and then rip it down for a second strike dealing two hundred and four saric can. Let's go next co. Let's turns to francis polka willing to use his extra action. If required to make the trait it will take your extra uses action search then and take the blade if if john is willing yes yes of course after seeing effectively slice through his thigh well obviously alright upon taking it. Let's prepares himself stab once twenty four. That has a hit. And it's one default right for damage correct. Yes unless you're a monk because doug is a monk weapons was the eight. Well i'm not but so we got a twenty-three head and an eighteen. Hit twenty four damaged total so as you then rip into volcan dealing one hundred forty four damage with women who boy you slash at his thigh just ripping this dagger through this decaying flesh and bone that honestly just falls apart beneath your blow. That's later it's his turn. Dang yeah. so it's been vowel fron later oats. Okay i'm going to do or i want to do similar to. I did last time. Because i don't wanna use my weapons just in case something goes awry so i grab another rock nearby and instead of going is michael steele effective for this one as well. We're doing need us. Another one yes. It's still effective at. It'd be effective for the entire encounter. Awesome awesome okay. So i'm going to cast of warning again. I grab another rock. And i do. Is i do like what does it. What does it call. When people steal home base and they slide i slide underneath bolkus is lakes. And i dropped right there as i'm sliding the cliff in the rock and i run away and it explodes since also infused with cold again ice. Thank you all right. I think that includes if ron brin year and yet yeah so everyone do dexterity. Saving throws volcanoes. Got a for the franck got twenty four. I got a six seventeen all right then brigadier and the front are okay but five eight cold damage. Chris roll away and volcanoes and layouts will take it that should be twenty two cave. Al-kas takes forty four coal damage. And is you just see him. Start to freeze up as he moves rigidly. Then orlando having just seen these beautiful gleaming. I saw explode. Destroy the armor. He is going to remain where he is from his safe sixty foot. He's gonna close a little bit eastbound going to forget about forty five thirty feet away and then he is going to. He's gonna use intent again to try to create his own. Ice daggers to fling. This person spell go ahead and roll just using my own modifier. That is a thirty online.

"Back in the realm of the valeur bara ceramic the embodiment of decay. The party now comes face to face with vall cast the corrosive very aspects of the evil doing battle as soon as they entered his plane. That's right it's the start of the episode and we're gonna roll initiative right off the bat. Let's go nat twenty sixteen orlando fifty four fron. Twenty-three for mick twenty-three brin you never let it be said that let's is not a quick end. Rapid man he got a whopping nine on his initiative. Quick on his feet all right so it will go volcanoes the corrosive all of the players. And then tell me is oh my simple. That's how i like it. So having smashed his sword into the ground splitting the earth in front of you as you are all charging for toward him. These cracks spread along this dry desert floor bursting forth beneath each. And every one of you. All of you are going to have to do dexterity. Saving throws please and you all get plus five to your dexterity. Saving throws because i'm a patented or protection in your all pretty darn close to me. Franck got a twenty little got a nineteen with the plus five nine thousand nine hundred dollars. Well twenty four for orlando brin. You got a twenty two twenty two. You have all passed and kelly as past as well with a twenty six so everyone is able to dodge these cracks and growing fissures that open beneath you and you continue on your way. The sword that volcanoes had used to smash into the ground. Just basically disintegrates it breaks apart as it smashes against the earth and from his back he draws another broken blade. The roots you're with me lancia the throne flint them on the right thou mic. Give us some support. I would love to go. I if that's possible that go ahead Quick like understanding the enemy purposes. Are these blades. Like just like on. Mike iraq on his or are they stuck in his back and he's pulling them out. They're kind of all just hodgepodge together. Some of them may be in. She'd some of them may be in like a basket. Others are just literally grafted onto his armor or skin that he's ripping off. He literally has a massive quiver but instead of arrows swords like soared after slows. Yeah basically who. I would like to reach out and touch if ron and cast haste on him so your speed is doubled. You gain a plus two bonus to your acu you have advantage on deck saves and you gain an additional action. On each of your turns the action can only be used to attack dash disengaged hide or use an object. I would like to stop moving sixty feet away from this thing. I'm not kidding that you are safely able to do so. I'd say who's going after. Val ephron i assume all right step numero who know. How far away are we from the sky. Sixty feet ish okay. Sixty feet okay. Franck closes the distance. No problem takes a few steps. He's they're pretty much. A franck gets up there. Lickety-split whips out. Imon the blade and he's been sitting for a little attack little in fact he's gonna we're just gonna go ahead and say that he's going to make dose attack ohs okay. One of them being fifteen the other one being twenty two All of those miss it miss. That's okay. I've got a little more up my sleeve and not like in the sense of they mess but you connect to this armor that he's wearing and it just has no effect by. It's it's pretty impossible to miss this fourteen foot giant but you're blows have little effect after having zero success with his first couple of attacks from is going to swing one more time now that he's hastened that will only rolled a thirteen not great so again finding no purchase butts fricken. I tell you what franz gonna spend a key. Okay even though imon has failed him this time. If ron is going to spend a key point and go for two more attacks this time unarmed. So one of those was a sixteen the other one. Was he kidding me. A nineteen using an online or as your fists make contact with volquez armor. You hear your strikes ring hollow against his and he is undeterred as both miss i. Who's going next since. I think a franz kinda done little. It's steadies himself and prepares charge in swinging with the speed in ferocity that is. It just doesn't even appear like he's on door does twenty-three hit it does. Are you kidding me. Okay so with his first mighty swing of his flav. He deals eighteen damage before rearing up to strike once again. I'm gonna guess then. A seventeen does not hit and so one last time. Prepping himself he swings. Oh no let's just roll a one. I think his heart attack just started yes. He's just roll the one you're talking with your yes as you swing your flav for the first time it finds purchase and you feel it cut into volquez flesh and a little space between his armor and then you rip out your glade spewing this rusty kind of thick blood kind of that looks like water and concrete to be honest. And then as you swing your blade around again it connects with his armor in this exact same spot and your blade of your slave just shatters as it touches him once more after being coded in this edgar snow great. This is like a complete shattering like it explodes into many many pieces. Yes the blade at least okay. If nobody else wants to go next. I wanna just make once ago if he can i would like to cast glyphosate warding and hence. Why got the rock. So mick pops out likable as he's running an advancing and gets close enough where he pops like loans mouth and then he casts cliff of warding. He has his rock where he inscribed cliff into the rock and throws the rock at valkyries..

"That there's it's just a representation of what you're saying earlier. It's a way to show someone being seen right person. You normally don't see on film you know in hearing you talk about this movie and talking about Kes- and correct me. If this is a wrong assumption I almost feel like one of the things this movie gave. You was an ability to look back on your childhood and your home fondly. Yeah absolutely which I didn't always feel I didn't feel very warmly toward it but there's something that I actually feel kind of pride in this movie are in those people because you know they endure they they and there's also something that is really again doesn't reflected very much there's a it's a British thing but his especially a northern thing like you never praise anything And there's and and there's a real hardness which is again a British but especially like enor- than and in working class communities and mining communities of you know being hard hard has really It's very important. And you know incredibly destructive but you know you go and I actually Kinda liked seeing that because I know when whenever I go home even if some things amazing I'll go. That was all right. Yeah this is okay and I kind of like seeing that even what kind of value and emotional response feels really real. It's it it does it makes me feel good about the north In a way that it usually things don't and also can I want people to see like this is where I come from. "Some ways I have to admit it was mine. I got away from that My house was very similar to to billy's I grew up in to up to We didn't have an indoor bathroom but I did have parents who were kind of there for me? You know which to me is the thing that most of all the heartbreaking things in this movie is how alone billy is so isolated. Yeah he's so spotted left right and he has his mother but his mother's not really there his brother good. God Yeah Oh God no also have to to save made me so grateful to be an only child so my God for the So yes so. He has a very neglectful mother. Who just is very selfish as cope isn't interested is and in a way to is seeking her own survival you know? She's brought him into the world in a way she's she's you know she's been like the mother Kestrel you know. Yeah he's big enough to take care of himself if somebody grabs him out of the nest. Well that's on him. You know You know I I think even of like the movie from Two Thousand Sixteen Moonlight. I mean a beautiful movie in many ways but the thing that struck me was just you have no chance like if your your parents or your parent are for some reason unable to help you so hard to to make it and by any definition so I think in some ways that's the thing that is terrifying just kind of makes you realize how lucky you were and I have to say I'm not close with my parents of but that that is one of those you know wake up calls or God you know the these how how easily things can work out very differently in a life Because I have to say I might have grown up in a house like billy's but I live a very different life now and I'm not sad about that and you got out exactly the exactly what you WanNa do yourself tonight. Low remove seven relates again. Again listen village. Chew Bubby Chope went. Today is awesome. Pop some crisps there and also when you just see just the impossibility of billy having a happy life or just doesn't seem like there's a huge chance chance for that You know and even his mother at least has the sort of she knows enough to see him as an as a hopeless case. Well I mean that kind of means she's given up on him which she really shouldn't have of course but you know that's that also happens to be true and it's not really because of him is because of the system. Exactly exactly I mean I know that logically right. I know that we have many examples of that but it was still shocking to me watching this today to know that even though this kid who's so so smart and so wise on his ears at fourteen was already people gave up on him. Yeah and I also like somebody who probably but we know in that situation. I would have been a teacher and I you know in the calling willing character. I don't actually remember the characters name. But he's the teacher and he you know he expresses frustration. Yeah with billy. That is absolutely right and billy isn't paying attention. We know that is because POPs He. He hasn't had anything to eat. He hasn't slept. He's been you know he's not he's had no support but at the same time. Maybe he has learning difficulties. Yeah almost certainly has lending difficult but also he's still really annoying. Attention is not helping. It's really kind of awful. Yeah when it's the great thing about about Ken loach raise it. He has these characters complicated. Like you're rooting for them. You're also like oh no. You know you shouldn't do that. That's probably same old faced same old face. Ten Years School's been open and ten years as we see now assembly line of boys here on the same old faces. Sabatini don't end up until someone produces a better solution out. Continue to use this game knowing fully. Well that he'll be back for it time and time and time again you smokers out to be with your hands ringing but will you stop you smoking already. What are you looking forward to smoking that break you agreeing about? You're thinking about smoking a break and Jimbo gains brand loaded with cigarettes pockets. I regularly allergic to cigarette too. I hope you're enjoying my conversation with June Thomas. Our current. This movie changed me. The season is far from over. But we're already looking ahead to our next. One is a beloved member of our movie loving community. We'd love to hear thoughts about our show. You can let us know okay going on being dot org forward slash. TMC 'EM survey respond before November twenty fourth. And you'll be entered to win a set of sixteen illustrations one for every episode episode of this season from Black Panther and groundhog day to cocoa. And Amadeus once again that's on being dot org forward slash. TMC survey and and thank you for being part of our this movie. Cheney community I love the original review that Roger Roger Ebert wrote about says I just wanted to. Oh read a little bit for you because I think he just hits upon all the things we're talking about but also just that amazing evert way A mix it to poetic so he says the stories about a boy who's caught in England's class biased educational system. He Reaches School Leaving Age and decides to leave but doesn't have anything else. He she much cares about. He's the butt of jokes and hostility at home. Where his older brother rules and inarticulate with his contemporaries? One day he finds a small Kestrel Hawk Hawk and trains it to hunt. The bird becomes his avenue to a free and natural state to state his soul needs and that his home and school denied him and then the system alarmed or offended by his freedom counter attacks. The film has a heartbreaking humanity. Wow right that's one hundred one hundred percent correct. It didn't yeah. Yeah you know. One of my favorite scenes 'em in the movie is when and it's it's such a beautiful scene. It really broke my heart when I was watching. It is when billy is with that teacher that we were talking about And the teacher had asked to be able to come CIBELLI train his stroll To train the bird and he he tells him he's saying why he cares so much about the verdict. He says simply gratefully I think she's done me a favour just letting me sit there and watch her right and it's so wise I mean it's like a meditative thing to say for fourteen years absolutely and as a recall bilious has said something smell like billy is revealed the depth of perception that you know for a guy who just really doesn't just doesn't engage most of the time you just. He's not playing along but he also so when he's talking with that teacher even though he doesn't really want him there and it's kind of an aggravation he shows up He is able to really connect with him. And you know have this very wise perceptive exchange. That's really that is really amazing. For walks continued concern Lucasville Potomac victims debate comes up to me and says he's a AH. Oaks can't be tamed. The mind is wild. visit is not bothered about anybody about me rate greed. Understand me. I not bothered by that. I just WANNA throw looks us into flyer talk in the know. Compared will probably missing. She thinks she do me a favor. Just let them watch it. I think the thing too is that as I was saying. You know. It's so heartbreaking to see everyone give up on a fourteen year old but I think. What's even more heartbreaking as he's given up on them too right exactly because even the teacher who's who you know really appreciates and thanks him for this thing that he was given you know entree to actually doesn't help him no? He doesn't an or anyone else else you know so he he knows the everything's stacked against these kids an and you know I guess he he's there and he's he's trying with them but there's no hope yeah. There's no path no well that's joyful. Well I mean that's the thing like it is a really bleak movie it is an with. The bleakness is actually accurate. Like what would there be. It would be a false message message to suggest that somebody like Billy actually did have a way or did have some sort of path to redemption or to you know satisfaction faction or two. He doesn't he's like there's no hope for for a kid like him he's going to be probably on the Dole pretty soon. He's not going to go dump and if he does he's only a few years later he'll be on the Dole and and I guess to the message that really that is the job that's available for for guys like him and when we've seen that the only place that his soul you know it finds expression is in the open with nature To be in the CLAUSTROPHOBIC confines of a pit You know would be just absolutely his soul would be the last little little bits of his soul would be absolutely shredded. So there is no hope is told me totally bleak and I wonder if maybe that's the thing about this movie is.

"Hello movie friends. I'm Lily Percy and I'll be your guide this week as I talk with slate. podcasts June Thomas about the movie that changed her life. Kes- it's a British movie with some strong accents. And we're going to give you all the details you in the to enjoy. The conversation never heard of the movie cast before. Even though I was really familiar with the films of Ken Loach Choose the Director of the movie. Ken Loach from me has been my teacher. In all things activism his movies often deal with the struggling working class the marginalized marginalized communities all around the world. Who are just trying to survive? And even though all of his movies tend to be realistic and therefore afford depressing they're also inspiring and they've connected me to stories and people that I would never have connected with otherwise like cats into pick on the wiser because maybe I'm sometimes I'm not that much I know stuck with me but they seem to get away whilst you think well ten this morning I just came in and just wrong saying she had been up six to do papers had been then wounded to school. I mean oh you become and that's not. You shouldn't be careful that shoe. You can't tell Mr Grasser in this. Let's say it only wrote a letter from when it teaches looking after a dog test tells. The story of Billy Casper a young kid and a community in Yorkshire in the north of England. He's poor he's lower working class and his family struggling struggling to survive and also struggling to just be together billions ignored by them especially his older brother Judd. He's also ignored by his school system. It doesn't really feel loved by many people except for this bird named has come on founded soon woods way to keep it. Can shed feeds on. Be The boots crude evil in a shed. I mean would it be happy flying freak. Don't keep potential flight every day when they hi away I don't play wishes Kevin Short for Kestrel Caz the bird is the one thing and billy's life that loves him and that he could love back without any shame. Without any fear this bird becomes his symbol of freedom. Many of US rarely see ourselves on screen either and characters or storylines and June Thomas Miss Found Kesse resonant because it spoke to her community spoke to the way that she grew up and the people that she knew. All of her life has is is a movie that symbolizes for her. The home that always is going to be within her but that she left so I don't know if you're familiar with the children's present our Mr Fred Rogers. Indeed yes well. I don't know if you've seen the clip of this. It's on Youtube but at his lifetime award when he was accepting at the daytime emmys you know when he got up there on stage he faced the audience and he told them to take ten seconds to think of everyone who had brought them to this moment in their lives and Yeah it was this intense moment when you watch you watch. The audiences faces and what they're thinking. I'M NOT GONNA ask you to do that so don't worry but I am going to ask you to go back in time to the first time that you watched says and to think about what what time that was how old you were where you were and kind of all the memories that come back to you not not sure I can absolutely remember the first time I saw it but I know that I did it for us. We seining than I did it for a level we did the book. A kestrel astro for a nave. By Barry Hines which the movie is based on. Oh so you read the book in school. Yeah it was. It was like one of our exam texts and I have to say I went to a very different kind of school than billy. Casper did for secondary school at least but I and finally enough there. When I was rewatching recently gently I could not exactly recite lines? It wasn't like rocky horror picture. Show no but there were moments like I i. I yelled along with Jude. hands-off cops on socks and and so I the worst moments that were embedded that we're necessarily the best moments are the most significant moments moments but they those are the ones that kind of joined all those old songs that are stuck in your head somewhere But it definitely was a movie that made an impression on me because it was the first time I saw a film that really felt like it was about where I grew up and it was about people like the people who I grow up around signed and as much as people kind of sneer at that little bit and like you know I'm a white woman in America you know I I. I don't have a problem finding reflections. They're always parts of your identity that yum that you don't see reflected in that you that you really feel seen when you yourself see them on big screen or even on your television set. So that was one of the very first films when I had that experience And you're talking about very specific perfect entity that you don't often see right and I have to say that the there's some very key things about this film. That are different from my my life but the the the people do I mean I. I have great northern pride even though I have to live there anymore But you know there's a thing that people down south they like to kind of make fun of the North End of northern pride and of and they kinda suggests that maybe like we have a chip on our shoulders which which is really just a closest kind of you know. The North is more working class. There are working class people everywhere in Britain but the north is more working class And this is also. This is a working class story. Which again even today? You really don't see very much. Except perhaps you know this is a film by Ken Loach and I think really leave among the few places that we see them. Yeah Are Ken Loach Movies and actually I would also say Okay so I wasn't from Yorkshire and also this is a very much a boy and man movie you know there there. You really see billy's mother but really you know the girls and you've kind of forget that there are girls in the class loss because you really don't spend any time with them and you know I'm a lesbian. I really spend time with men. But that's not really my life But I did grow up in a mining village and my dad and my grandfathers were miners and even though the pit closed actually about nine hundred sixty eight so I was alive. I put up a very old So I didn't really like it wasn't to think that people of my age weren't going to go down the pit but but that certainly had been a thing literally dialogue from says when your down the pit right exactly and You know the again. That was something that was not much reflected elsewhere and and I really enjoyed seeing that played-out rather than just be you know something that I would hear in family conversations or in other similar situations. Tanaka's pat have you ever thought about entering Apprentice Yunos Tricia on a big data or something like that of course. The money's not too good way serving an apprenticeship and if you do stick it out always tried to your fingertips go well got. What do you think about the listening to me? They don't look as off before clock. You know nothing. I've mentioned so far picks to extend a hard day's work you don't mind eating that team that a good opportunity mining granda. I don't be put off by what you've had condition improved tremendously won't be seen did dumb What about hobbits? What hobbies do you like gardening constructing Meccano sets or anything like that? Don't have any elvis at all. What's wrong with you? Sit down sit down. I haven't finished yet. I've met some nuts in my timed. I've met one. You'll cusp off the title. I could get them heartbreaks listening to we talked about how you often only see this kind of portrayal portrait of working class life in Ken loach films you know this. This is what he's known more and something I really love about. His movies is the way that the characters talk. You know. They talk the way people talk right and it feels like nick just everyday life and he wants an interview and talking about his movies and kind of the themes that play in his movies that the point is to encapsulate something and human experience that goes deeply but also reflection of the wider way. We live together and I think about cousin. How are we getting this portrait of childhood of school and Family Eh Life in Yorkshire and there are these moments of painful injustice right it just? Oh that makes me so uncomfortable which is another hallmark of Ken. Loach yes But but the discomfort is so important right. Because you're learning about this place and these people and you're also learning about yourself and I just wonder what what what did you learn from it when you're watching it. Yeah.

But it's so true. Nothing's free. You have to work for stuff import you have to train. I mean, I don't care how good your hands aren't squad talented hand. But if you don't run for forties and run stairs. And do light light. You know sprints on the court and jump rope. You're never gonna get to the next level. It just doesn't happen. I've got to train more or he he was stronger on the volleyball. I gotta do more pushups and planks. And so there's always how can I get better? And that. Life, right. No one's giving. No one's going to give you a presidency or to see ship that doesn't happen. You gotta work your way up and that. And if you think you're gonna never have a setback. That's not reality. Is totally ruined. And he's remorseful. Yeah. Geez. At a shocking that you'd be remorse. Suddenly have everything and then nothing at are incarcerated. Yep. That tends to happen. All right. So this is the details of what originally occurred, and it is. So this was this was when I think the report was available July thirteenth twenty twelve the alleged domestic assault and battery that lead to the arrest of Carlos and Rica's began in the back seat of a car a quiet street in Arlington heights. According to a new more detailed police report, Henry Kaz Zooey country. Yes, we'll face three counts of assault and battery as well as charges of kidnapping witness intimidation larceny, Monday, he pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic kidnapping witness intimidation, and larceny and Rigas is scheduled to be arraigned at court, which is yada, yada. According to the police report Henry Henry kes- had texting back and forth with Twenty-three-year-old, Catherine Consol Consol those on. On Saturday night as you do and. This was at around three AM Sunday, lots of texting back and forth. He showed up outside his mother's house. Her her mother's house in zipcar. Gonzaga's mother asked her not to leave. So says told her mother that she would be back and went out to meet with the first term thirty five year old state lawmakers. So the guy basically he's been texting with her back and forth. I don't know what those tax involved probably I'd like sex and. No. So the mom is probably knows what this guy's like shows up in zipcar. She's fine. Don't go out there. This guy is a jerk and Jimmy minutes. Yeah. Three AM is a big tip off. You wanna talk. Yeah. So the Twenty-three-year-old says don't worry about it. Mom. I'm just gonna be right back. So she goes out couple park a little ways down the street and moved into the backseat of the car so described as a blue Honda hatchback in the Boston police report, I work in solve as expected expect kissy get while. Okay. Oh, I see. So she was just gonna make out with him. Then she told them she would not be able to leave with him that night, and he allegedly became angry saying, you made me come all this way. According to the police report up getting angry, Henry kes- allegedly backhanded Gonzales across the face grabbed her by the throat, and then punched her in the chest while Gonzalves cried, she called police officers attempted to document what was happening with her cell phone and Rica's allegedly ripped it from her hands. Then as Gonzalez was still in the back seat and Rica's drove off getting onto route two and heading into Boston. As Henry was stopped at a red light on force it street in Boston Gonzales leapt from the car losing a flop in the process, basically, the poor women's trying to escape. After being hit a budget. I'm not having sex with this guy. She was out by somebody who alerted in Northeastern University security guard who then took her to police at around four twenty five AM. So I mean, it's it all spells bad news. The three a m arrival in a zipcar to Arlington heights. At least thirty bucks car think that you know. Gonzales had grabbed her phone back shortly before jumping out of the car, but later discovered it was missing its memory card. Police reach Friday afternoon in rake as attorney said she had not seen the new police report. I'm interested to see the details. Yada yada yada on Monday after his arraignment in Roxbury municipal court has released proclaiming his innocence. That was what was that? What? Stephen worse than the actual. It was quite something. And I'm clicking on the statement. Now because the statement was basically. It was good. It was like, wait a minute. You want us to be on your side? Right. Carlos. This is not reading like a particularly good. Statement from yourself. It says I want to thank all my family friends colleagues particularly the community I've been accused of some serious charges. These allegations are completely untrue. I was raised by a strong mother also raised with younger sister, both of whom I respect and love deeply, my my father Julio in Rica's recently passed was a track coach and mentor to hundreds of young women, and I've dedicated myself to protecting women not abusing or salting putting my hands on a woman is contradictory to my upbringing and my own morals. Both community activists party getting elected. Maybe I'm wrong statement. Because I remember there was a very long statement. That was not pretty currently does matter is in the hands of the court the state much better than the one that I can recall, I ask you remain patient and keep me in my family in your prayers. So this the way a statement should be this incident is unfortunate and embarrassing. But I will not shook my duties or hide. I think I think I've got the other one here. Was this when he was running for city councilor he was explain away. What had happened? There's one he released from jail. Okay. His sweater. That is the I think that is the one now. One that starts with these odd. Yes. That is exactly the one. Did you send it to my good while there you go? Yeah. Because it was it was quite something. And. That's it was as we were saying worse than worse than what we remembered. I'll just do the first bullet points. Remember bad, and Phil reading this. It is a fact that I am Carlos weeK' thirty seven years old. Yes. Have served as state Representative of the fifth Suffolk district neighborhoods of Roxbury Dorchester since January six twenty eleven. Oh my God. Yeah. Number two. It is a fact that I have been consistently active in supporting legislation in funding to support victims of domestic violence and to prevent future occurrences. Point number three. It is a fact that the majority. Perpetrators of domestic violence victims are usually women and children. The fifth Suffolk district has a high number of restraining orders stemming from domestic violence. I don't know why we needed that. Well, maybe this is the great deal that he has to bring to the conversation able to detail several facts. All right, which was the last one through three. Yeah. Of course. Has to. The fact.

Stuff like account numbers, very often people ask you for PDF's going in and correcting taxed.
