"On K Away NewsRadio, 8:50 A.m. and 94 1, fl and welcome back stuff short stack with us. We'll get to your calls to Seth Frank Drake, Of course, the one founder of City He's 87 years old. Is he still active? Or is he retired now? Yeah, he was. If it wasn't raining year in the Silicon Valley today, he was actually going to come into the institute. He comes in, you know, every week or two. He's there. And he's still active. He's very much active. He's a remarkable guy. What is, uh, what are his views about? Extraterrestrial life? Well, obviously, he thinks they're out there to natch. He's kind of the pioneer of the field. Really? I mean, if you have to point to one person Really got this whole idea of Trying to find some evidence that somebody is out there and then probably point to Frank Drake. I would Did you ever have a chance to meet Carl Sagan? I did, actually, yes. Many times. In fact, In fact, I almost took a job with him That really Yes. Yes, yes. Uh, he loves science and space and, well, he was so influential and getting people interested in science, that's for sure. Sure was, Uh, we missed him. Went way too early. Yeah. Back to the calls. Let's go to Dawn and Salem, Oregon, west of the Rockies. Hey, Donald, Go ahead. Good morning, gentlemen. I do. Uh, I was wondering what kind of eyepieces you recommend. I've got a six inch telescope reflector for looking at the planets and the stars and then the second point. I still think there's higher forms of life swimming around in the caves and grottoes on Mars. Well, you don. I hate to tell you this because it's kind of embarrassing, But I'm a radio astronomers. So you know, I don't know what kind of eye pieces I mean, if you're talking about the planet, you know you don't need that quarter. I don't know that for millimeter focal length ramps and whatever the Barlow lens and all that. You don't need a lot of, uh, a lot of magnification because in most cases, you're not going to Be able to use it. I would just get you know something that has a I don't know for myself. I would get a wide angle Eyepiece one that, you know. Well corrected right to the edges. Get one good eye piece and You know planets? Gosh, you don't need too much with one big advantage was planets is of course, you can see them even from the cities, So there's that, But I would you know, I'll tell you what to do. Don. Here's better advice. Forget everything I've said so far on this. Check out the local has to Phnom Ical society. Almost every city in America has one. And those guys will probably have a whole rafters have telescopes. Yeah, and and they'll let you borrow theirs and you can check them out. They all have telescopes for sure. That would be fantastic. Yeah, By the way, I did look up this Buddhist absolute Buddhist thing. Yeah, because I've never heard about it. And that's because I didn't listen to coast to coast. That's right. Exactly apparently was discussed on the show here in 2000 and seven, huh? But the guy who actually promoted this idea, Duncan Loon in is apparently his name, right? He's also he's kind of backed down a little bit has backed down and it was a science fiction writer. And maybe this is One of his stories. In terms of the universe, and there may be multiverses who knows, But How could we have so many? Physical objects. So many stars so many planets. I mean, how did this all happen in your opinion? Well, I don't think nobody knows. Nobody knows actually, and that is a big question. It's sort of like asking what was there before the Big Bang. I get that question from People, young and old. Great question, right? 13.5 billion years ago. Whatever it was this big bang, But what I know I want to know is what was there before the big Great Why do we have a big bang? If you say the universe is 13.5 billion? What was at 13.6? Right? Exactly Exactly So The answer to that is, Of course, we don't know the answer to that. But it seems that with the trivial answers to say, Well, look, you know you think that there are clocks running before the universe. There were no clocks before the universe. There was no time time didn't exist. And that's that's a concept that we have a great deal of difficulty wrapping our heads around. But you know, so that that's kind of the straightforward answer. You can't ask that question. But of course, physicists do ask that question. And there's actually a book out the, uh on how you can make a big bang in your basement or you're back in your attic, your own universe, your own universe, and it's all you have to do is find a magnetic mono pole and Put it in an accelerator and I mean, you have to do some things that are not exactly trivial, but The point is that making universes might be something that happens all the time. And that's why we talk about these multiverses that big banks are happening all the time. We happen to be in one of them. One of the universe has produced by a big bang. But there may be many, many others. Would you say that this is a wonder? This universe. Well, yeah, I guess I mean, I don't mean I would compare it to George. Maybe there is like saying Earth is, you know the most wonderful planet gone. And you know, from our point of view, it is. But on the other hand, the funny people have speculated on the possibility that maybe our plan is kind of third rate and they're much better plants around in ours. We just don't happen to have one. That may be true with the universe is too but You know, if you if you shake around some of the basic constants of physics a little bit, which might be the case in other universes. Maybe the gravity is a little stronger. They are a little weaker, you know? Then maybe you don't make stars. You don't make planets and you don't have coast to coast. Am so You know, our our universe is good enough to allow us to be here. So that's pretty good. Let us go to Rochester, New Hampshire, where Alex is waiting. Alex, go ahead. Yes. Uh, thank you for taking my call. Sure. Um, I was wondering what thought of, or um What is perspective was his scientific perspective was On the work of Robert Hastings, who has been a guest on coast. Yeah, sure has not mistaken to very briefly paraphrase my understanding is that Robert Hastings husband studying Uh, credible testimony, uh, of over 100. Maybe 100 and 50 U. S military personnel who have worked at nuclear facilities. And these personalities, military types have witnessed UFOs. Uh, tampering with Nuclear weapon. That is correct sites, and you can't just dismiss this testimony as Nonsense as delusional as a bunch of drunk people or whatever. These are very credible people. Uh, what would your perspective do You think this is where the of further investigation? Yes, Alex, let me I have actually been on panels with Mr Hazing, so I do know Of whom you speak there. Um and you know, to be honest, listening to what he was saying on the panel. He he's very sincere and how he's saying it. But on the other hand, it's just stories. And I think two things that are worth pointing out first. The whole idea that aliens come to earth. It means they're way beyond us, technologically it way beyond us. And they come to earth and their interest in our missile silos. That would be like you going back to ancient Rome. Right and being interested in the places where they make the spears and the shields because you know, those are dangerous things. We better check them out. That's that's not what you'd be interest, so I just can't imagine why the unions would have the slightest interest in our missile sites. And so where there Mr Hastings was talking about. But the other point to make Is that this is witness testimony. Which is always the worst kind of evidence or science, you know. Scientist goes by witness testimony beyond that. Beyond that, it's you know, it's hard to imagine that there's any better controlled, um, locations that are missile silos. You know, I don't know that aliens are prowling around there. But, gosh darn, if anybody were prowling around him, you think that the military would be interested in that? And they would have some evidence that showed that this was happening. You remember a few years ago sat the rumor about if said he really knew there was a signal. That they would suppress it. Remember that? Well that that's very frequently said Yes. I think you guys would hold a news conference and blasted all over the place as we discussed a little earlier tonight. What actually happens is that the newspapers call us and they blasted all over the place. So was you need be? You'd be on this show instantly. Well, that's right, George harm in the Bronx. Take it away. Thomas. You're on with us, George. In your guest. I like to say that, uh, potential place to put a big, huge telescope. Believe it or not, would be on Staten Island on top of the garbage dump that's been graced over already. Because why from space That, Uh, Tom, what's the advantages is this fresh Kills? Is that what you're thinking of? Yeah, they garbage dump you can actually see from space..

I'm just I just say, I said it was going to talk about it now. But at 12 25 When I go to break I'm done talking about this, But in general terms, I think, baby boomers, the elderly Uh, they went through the polio vaccine, which was a a game changer for everyone. They went through the chicken pox, mumps vaccine measles vaccine, which change for everybody, But Millennials didn't have any of those events and I think that's one of the reasons they're not excited about vaccinations. Again. And I had this conversation with my mom last night because I was telling her what was going on in my home because she knows a couple of these people as well from when I was a kid and, uh and and my mom said the exact same thing she goes. I remember the polio vaccine. I remember being terrified, Terrified that I was going to end up paralyzed for the rest of my life. That was what polio did to you and she said when they lined us up. Oh, boy. They lined us up in school. They didn't ask for anybody's permission. They just gave us the shot. And that was it. Exactly. I don't want to go back to that and again. See, here's the thing. I don't want to ever mandate vaccination. Don't ever want to make compelling enough of an argument. I want to lay out a compelling enough case, but the CDC has undermined their credibility so badly. That they're the ones that we should be looking to for guidance in this situation, and Dr Anthony Fauci holds a great deal of that responsibility. I've got an actual story about him at the bottom of the blog. It appears through Freedom of Information Act request. The doctor Fauci has been proven again a liar this time in front of Congress. What Is a Breakthrough COVID-19 Infection?

"Dr Deborah and Mulligan, professor at Nova Southeastern University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and emergency medicine as welcome our dear doctor. Good morning, Jimmy. Let's talk about little bit about breakthrough infections. I think I saw that about 83 85% of the people hospitalized in the state of Florida. Were not vaccinated, but there are some And that's the breakthrough infection. Right? That's what we call it. Tell us about this. Yeah, sure. So, you know, we had a really good vaccine driven strategy for the vaccinated. It was supposed to be a worry free, hot back summer of socializing and fun. That was before Delta. You know, this tough, formidable folks spoil their plans and rising covid breakthrough infections. Among fully vaccinated is a reminder that these vaccines are not a silver bullet. Nor is the mask a full proof invisibility cloak. So let's define what is the definition of vaccine breakthrough infection for our listeners. It's the detection of SARS Kobe to RNA or antigens. Collected from a person more than 14 days after they completed recommended doses of covid 19. So I have had patients who were diagnosed with Covid Illness, but they hadn't been fully vaccinated. So, for example, maybe you got the first shot. It was a week later, they hadn't got their second shot. So Jimmy, these vaccines are intended to prevent severe illness. That was the end point, and they're doing that. They were not intended to prevent spread 100%, although they were pretty marvelous until you know Delta came along. These vaccines are working as expected there, bolstering memory B cells, protective D cells and antibodies to protect us from severe disease. They're doing that.

"All right. Serena Williams is out of Wilmington. This after getting hurt, and Walmart is now selling a new, less expensive version. Of insulin, those stories and more coming up at 4 30 with Cathy Walker on K away NewsRadio. This is Big Al and Joe Joe. Along with that. Benjamin Albright darkie away Broncos insider who has been doing Great work keeping track of what's been kind of going on with the, uh Aaron Rodgers situation which in all honesty, except for this possible, opt out bend, It's been pretty quiet. Well, Yeah, we reported two weeks ago that people from Aaron Rodgers camp were intimated to us. That error was going to be engaging on anything until after the Fourth of July weekend that he was on vacation. Until that point in time, I did get a hold of some people to ask about the the opt out stuff, So we do have some information there. But other than that, Yeah, he's pretty much hold up and trying to enjoy relaxing this summer. So what is the opt out information? How does that How does that all work in? What would that mean as far as him playing again in Green Bay, or possibly being on the trade bloc? Well, uh, what it would mean It would be similar to what John James did last year where you simply opt out of the year. You keep your money, it rolls forward and you go from there. I've been told that Aaron Rodgers is not even considering that that he plans to play this year. He plans to play somewhere other than Green Bay. And it's a Green Bay Packers should be working on trying to find him trying to find a trade partner and a team that he wants to go to. I will tell you that, you know again. His preferred destination is the Denver Broncos. He wants to play in Denver. He wants to be in Denver. And so that's where that stands at the moment. There hasn't been a break on that. So, um as we as we go forward, the timeline really starts. You know, after this Fourth of July weekend and and going towards training camp, and it becomes a battle of wills to Green Bay willing to hold on to Rogers even through a season if he's a distraction versus Rodgers desire to play elsewhere. One of the things that have been, Uh, one of the topics that have been percolating out in Green Bay has been what's going on now with Devante Parker, the outstanding wide receiver who is Aaron Rodgers, is Favorite target, and he's in the last year of his deal. But we all understand that with Devante, certainly Davante Adams with Davante Adams. The one thing that we do know is that Positional players like wide receiver running back offensive tackle. Those guys will end up getting a franchise tag on them. If they are the kind of players that we know that they are. But when This situation is it's a little different could The Raiders and Derek Carr actually be gone after Davante Adams next year. Or you think that this is something that could also happen this offseason, just a jettison from Aaron Rodgers. And with that? Jettison from Davante Adams. Well, you know, Jon Gruden's made no secret. The fact he loves going after savvy veterans and know what they're doing, and Adam is one of the best in the league. You look at that Raiders receiving corps and there's certainly some promising talent there, but nothing to the level of the Davante Adams. So yeah, they would be. They would be all over that. The problems, though, with the Raiders aren't really on the offensive side of the ball. Their offense was plenty five last year on the defensive side of the pole. Yeah, I don't know how to tie it up big money in another. Great receiver really helps move them past Kansas City in the division when they can't stop anybody, All right, so so then putting it out there all on the table. If Aaron Rodgers decides that he is going to do what you want, James did and just opt out and get to keep his money and everything just gets pushed forward. Is there a time limit on when he has to announce that he is doing that. Yeah, That's that's by Friday, and that would be irrevocable. So if he did that announced that that would be you would have to stay with that for the entire year. E. There's no take backs on that again. I've been told he is not going to do that. So But that deadline would be Friday. I'm trying to figure out what's going to happen here with this situation because you know, as a former player, I look at a guy like Aaron Rodgers and I understand what his frustration is. I was just talking to one of my teammates that were part that that was part of my Super Bowl runs here in Denver. And he still holding a grudge from something that happened 20 plus years ago, so I know it's real. When when players say that, you know, they're done with an organization. I'm moving on. I mean, we had a situation here with the great Brandon Marshall, the Y receiver who just couldn't take it anymore, and said he wanted out of Denver forced his way out. What's Aaron Rodgers? Best way to force him to force itself out of Green Bay. Well right now he's taking the smart approach and say, you know, being very vocal about what it is that he wants and moving forward that I think if you get closer to training camp, and the Green Bay Packers refused to budge, you may have to go the route where you're less professional. You might have to start being a distraction. You know, you might have to be that guy at camp. It's causing an issue only get shipped out because you know if we may And they certainly can hold on to his right through the season and then dealing after the year. It takes a playing year off of Rogers shelf life, which you know he's in his late thirties. He doesn't have that many years left. So I think that if you if you're Aaron Rodgers, you continue to do it The right way. You're doing it right now. But as training camp gets closer, and you know if you start missing days and They say they're not going to move you. I show up. And then I start being the worst distraction ever. I'm loafing and practice. I mean, I'm talking about I'm throwing footballs backwards to the point where it's obvious that you need to make a move. I'm just looking here at this list. Let's see Gus for rats. Pakistan Lynch. Uh huh, Um shine more Can Karcher, Craig Penrose, Charlie Johnson. Al Pastor Rana and Gary. Oh, no. Gary Kroner was actually a kicker. I'll wore the number 12 for the Denver Broncos. Paxton Lynch more than number 12 for the Denver Broncos. Well, you can tell that's a lynch water. 12. You cannot You cannot give Aaron Rodgers the 12 because that number is going to be retired his son. Hey, you know it's going to you know who actually is going to retire that number. 12 eventually is going to be the Saskatchewan Roughriders who signed Paxton Lynch. Love that as a quarterback as a quote. I'm just just throwing it out there then we appreciate it as always, what's coming up on Broncos Country tonight tonight? We have a guest host instance. Ryan's out on vacation will be Romi Bean from from CBS. We'll talk a little bit about the Broncos quarterback situation. Rogers Lock Bridgewater. Everything like that, and we didn't get to it.
