Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Apologize for Plantation Wedding

"Ryan Reynolds is apologizing for the plantation wedding he had in two thousand and twelve, which is wife Blake lively they were married at boone whole a former slave plantation in. South Carolina I mean you can't get around that at the time. They didn't really think about that. They thought the south has this big sweeping with the wind love story nine that the figured out and times have changed. He said the decision to have an anti bellum wedding was a huge mistake and I deeply deeply sorry for that. He did they've got married again at the. Home years later he said it was a big F ing mistake Dante. Here's the thirty th it's Ryan didn't have to speak out saying I'm sorry because what it is is this is blind ignorance I grew up in the south everywhere you go sadly there are these plantation homes and even open as tourist destinations. So you go and you visit them you look at them and It's just a lot of people don't know the history and we're kind of in the middle of that going on in the world. We don't talk politics here, but there are a lot of months of, do we take down statues? How do we deal with the history and the sad part is a lot of people don't know the history to in order to deal with it. Right and then I think when you do find out the history when you educate yourself or it's pointed out to you, you do the right thing. This is a lesson in. One One and Ryan and Blake passed with flying colors when you do something that wasn't right if you don't think it was right if it no longer feels right you speak up, you say, sorry, you know we don't talk about politics on the show I. think that's part of the success of the show but I did get married Bruce and I got married I'm shamed to say at Trump hotel we got married at trump in. So He's name is no longer on the building, but the fact is we did get married there. Do you think Blake and and Ryan have taken down their pictures got to admit we we framed after our wedding gown wedding photograph of Bruce. And I in the ballroom on the on the on the top floor. It was a beautiful beautiful view and I also frames the invitation that clearly tells you which hotel we got married at that invitation has come down in my living room. Do you think they've changed their pictures? No because it did happen and and I think though that they will educate people moving forward and educate their kids when they talk about the wedding, it's a good talking point now to people look beautiful picture and they say, you know what? This was the history this is what happened there. Let's move forward with it.

Kanye West's First Campaign Rally Takes Wild Turn

"GotTa talk about. He had his first presidential campaign rally yesterday in south. Carolina and he got really personal and even Clyde after saying he tim considered a boarding. North here his speech. One. took. Appears to be going through a tough time right now, and we'd imagine can is as well Is it ever appropriate to talk about something like this publicly? Oh Man Okay obviously I. Watch these videos yesterday and just watching it again. It's really a lot more I mean I think yesterday. I was really experiencing shock and today. It's really heartbreaking, and you just want you sort of wish. This didn't happen for Konya I'm obviously a massive fan I'm sure we all are just to see him when he kind of. Goes on these tangents. It's just like you just don't we don't need to. It's okay. We don't need to know this kind of stuff so. It's just unfortunate all around to the honest with you. Mommy a lot seeing this yesterday obvious, sit down interview about a year or so ago with David Letterman where he gave us all really. Really empowering interview about how his brain works, and he was saying when he connects with the universe at times is very hot and connectivity that and just relaying back to those moments with Connie, which means he's powerful person. We all listened to what he has to say. We all expect this when Kannada perform the genius that he is the creative that. Does this mean that as a man can run a country, I think a lot of people are questioning that right now for a lot of us for friends and family. If this is one of my friends and family right now I'll be getting around them. Just going how you doing checking in and just making sure everything's okay.

"justin timberlake" Discussed on The Popcast With Knox and Jamie

"Let's talk about Justin. Let's explain Justin Timberlake. Are you excited to explain? Just really genuinely excited because I like. I got a good grasp on Justin Timberlake but having spent the last three days as a scientist studying him in his career. I feel feel like I didn't even remember all the goodness history. The glacier the sunk the titanic. There's there's a little top but there's so much on the titanic is the Titanic Jessica. Biel say you know. I think the glacier would be Jessica Biel Justin Timberlake's the titanic. You can make the case. Really make maybe we will later. We don't know so why. Okay why are we talking about Justin Timberlake? Well there's a few reasons. One trolls world tour. You seem really confident. Let's watched no trolls. World tour. Came out which listen. It had seventy percent on rotten tomatoes. The critics consensus was a fun. Follow up for of the original trolls. World tour offers a second helping of colorful animation infectious energy and sing along song. Lotta Sing along songs. Well trolls interestingly enough was the first film that was really released. Straight to video on demand. It skipped the theatrical release And it may bike more than fifty million dollars. Universal has not released all the data yet but they said it was Their biggest opening for digital title ever with the figure ten times larger than Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Oh which feels like how many people were like. Oh I gotta buy me some fallen kingdom. I really was good. It was you and then no one else that's right But fandango didn't say it was the most preorder title of all time the best selling film on its opening day and the best selling film during its first three days of digital really. Oh it makes sense like we. The people were thirsty for anything. That could be great or the children's one reason the trawls. The second reason is he was recently on hot ones and we love hot winds. But it's hot ones for those who don't know it's It's a show where celebrity guests eat very spicy hot wings and answer questions about themselves and they sweat and they get uncomfortable and it's so good. It's free to watch on Youtube. It's fantastic. I'm he justin. Timberlake was on there. He talked a lot about pooping he did felt like too much. Maybe a little little much on the palm. He cries as people who are experts on the concept of pooping as content. I feel like it was too much now. If it's too much. And but he did prevail he did not even have winds up of water. I was very impressed with his skill. One to ten He Davidson is a one. And I don't know who attend is. I'm trying to pull from like who I've watched. Who is a ten recently? Who was great. Who is an man? I'll read. That's great the toll? Roads are ten parts. I would give him an eight. I would give him a solid. Here's he did talk too much about what was happening. You have to stop talking about the fact that you're eating hot wings concept like it's not it's not good but of course the most important reason that we're doing this Aaron. Can you tell the group why we're doing it? It's got a man I hear. It is so good at the whole reason. We got a third Mike the whole the whole reason. Yeah so I didn't even pick that up. I was because I was like. Is there an anniversary there was talking about right? Justify came out ten years ago or twelve years ago today. And it's going to be may it's GONNA be may so we're GonNa talk about Justin Timberlake and I think it's you know we're at a point? He's thirty nine years old house forty. He's been in our consciousness to me on when you started watching Justin Timberlake. He's been with us for very long time so it feels like we did. This obviously will smith but this feels like a great moment to really contemplate and consider who just doesn't like what he's done in pop culture all right so in thinking about like before we get into like who he is like where he's gone where he's been all that stuff. What is your current feeling on Justin Timberlake and if you wanna like amble into what the General Cultural Vibe is on just in general like you're allowed to Furton personally. I've always been a justin timberlake fan. Not of him as an actor. We'll get into that because I've been on the record many Tom that I feel like. That's what makes mistakes and he tries to be like a film actor But you know he. Unfortunately he's filming yet another movie which I would argue. I told you not to do that. And look it got you in trouble. Because he got on the balcony and He's filming this drama Palmer. And he kinda got all touchy feely with his Co Star Alicia wainwright that then prompted a An iphone notes holiday to his wife that he posted on instagram. Yeah the is the twentieth century. Press conference right. Let me get on my sad notes APP and just type in some non punctuated. Non Capitalized sentiments. Really now. That happened a few months ago and so seven years ago. I don't know anymore but now I'm hesitantly coming back To team which I find is often the case with Justin Timberlake. He makes a mistake. He makes takes a wrong step. And I'm like a bit and then I'm like But I love him okay and ask. A question is followed them. Because I have a theory. I've I'm coming into this thinking that Justin Timberlake is a. He's like a person who has Gotten like has had a success or gotten like a lump sum payment of something. Put that in the bank and now he is living off the interest generated off that. He's not really doing anything else like he originally did but we just fondly remember him. He's kind of plateaued in a sense. So do you like Justin Timberlake? When do you like when he's quiet and he's not doing anything but then when he releases something or does something you're like? Oh Yeah I'm reminded I don't really like you that much. Yeah it only because he creates now Emma casually. It'll be glimpses. The problem is is that you know who's always there with him when he is releasing stuff because I particularly love his music. There's ten in the background helping him and I can hear him. I can hear him like featured vocal. I'm like Oh I do Tim Mullin. Maybe it's I really loved to me. That's what this is really about. Yeah it probably is but I I. I think he's funny. I like components of his career. His friendships his dating life. All those things but for the most part he's not produced anything sips the song from the first holes. Maybe so it's probably been four years since I've been interested in anything. He's creator. Yeah I think so As we do. I'm going to stay pretty fluid with it because I I can't think we you know we talked about the The great man theory before right history has a theory that like the The path of history is dictated by great men who make a singular decision and that changes the course humanity right. That's a theory that some people have the counter to that is That it's not about agency it's about structure the structure pushes someone forward. And they're the person who kind of Lights the match right. Like if you're thinking about The the Protestant Reformation Right. It wasn't this idea is like it wasn't necessarily Martin Luther who did this. It was like hundreds of years of the Catholic Church failing in the selling of indulgences. Like that and Martin Luther. The invention of the printing press right Martin Luther than lit the match and it started this thing so my question is is as we will hopefully discuss and figure out as we go is Justin timberlake a singular singularly great artists. Or is he someone who was in this age of boy bands and was the best of the boy band people and because of that he was pushed forward? Because someone like Joey fatone couldn't do it someone like JC shows. It couldn't do it but Justin Timberlake did it. And because of that he was put into situations he wasn't really a qualified for like acting and stuff like that we've gotten to this plateau with him which is like the logical conclusion of who he is. He's not really necessarily good. Good transcendently good at making art as much as he just being famous. That's in that might be my operational theory is. He's really good at being face being famous. I do think he's a talented vocalist right. And I don't want to say like he's socks. It's more like he's he's a tier below the transcendent beyond say you know the the people who are in another stratosphere so it's great to be below them but I think a lot of people consider him in that top tier. He's now I read so many articles that were like He. May you know like his breakout? Debut album is the model for breaking out of band and I thought no like so many other people had done it just as well or better than he did before he did right right so it's a lot of credit as we talk. I want to. I'm kind of as we go decide. What if I think he truly is greater if he is actually maybe the question is is he. Overrated underrated properly rated. That's what I'm trying to work out real time. So why don't we start with we? Do you WanNa talk about where he actually came from. Okay so for those. Who Don't know he is Justin Randall. Timberlake look you like your first name? Nice so he was born in January of Nineteen eighty-one. He was born in Memphis Tennessee. I don't know if you know that base for Memphis He. I've never ever talked about it. But his MOM Lynn His Dad Charles. His Dad was a Baptist Church choir director. Which if you are familiar at all of the Baptist Church. That's a big deal. So that means that means Justin Timberlake was saying after Church on Wednesday nights for choir practice and he was having to get up early on Sunday. And what happens is he. Starts singing hesitant? He's talented vocalist. At a very young age and by age eleven he is now appearing on star search. And if you've seen interviews with his mom particularly she beat a stage. Mom Lake early. Og Stage Malia for sure like she walked so like Dina Lohan could run dry you if you were if you were in a snake draft. Would you take Lynn? I or Joe Simpson. Oh no show sense you take him. I really wet. He's great. It's look there's there's A. There's a good book out there to be written by someone much smarter than us about the influence of like Evangelical Christianity on the evolution of Pop Culture and like the Katy Perry top that whole conversation. And so he does that on in like Nineteen ninety-two you. And then he gets cast in the all new Mickey Mouse Club where he kind of the revamped club. Which if you know anything about the Mickey Mouse Club. He is in this. Cast with Britney Spears Christina Aguilera JC Shafei Ryan Gosling and actress Keri Russell like shouts to that casting director holy sites and I do it. Speaks to there was a bottle. Necking of talent. There wasn't the democratization of ways. You can be famous like I think beyond say just there. I don't know if Britney Spears different star search but it's kind of like Oh yes she okay. She was like you had to be on star search if you were going to be famous for be anything so there weren't a Lotta different places so wasn't like all. These different types of people were could be an attended from places but to have that collision talent was really impressive. Did you did you with the all new Mickey Mouse Club and when I went to Stacy Gatehouse because she had cable so I could see it at like her see I loved it my sister and I loved it all the time I I guess early on I realized I've bad taste in town of people because all those people you listed didn't like him I like Chase Chase Hampton the ginger guy. That's who I was like. That's my dude. What's he up to now He released an EP last year and he commutes between Boston and L. A. Success is different. Verbiage Amy Right. Yeah it's fine. Yeah so he takes that. He's Mickey Mouse Club right right. Maybe you know the crowning achievement of law people's lives and he's like no we can do better and this is a largely motivated by his. Mama's while they turn this into n sync. Did you read? What instinct like how. They got the name now. How did they get they? Use the last Last letter of each of the members first names and I just thought it was like inside the house like it was just like a musical. Yeah great synchronization. It was like a a needlessly artistic flourish to. It has the asterisk yes. That's exactly right. Yeah that's last name. But so they start in sync formed in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight they really hit their stride. They released their self titled Debut Studio Album Itself. Eleven million copies including the single.

"But on the but but I guess on the other side as well. You know all kidding aside. We also kind of reflect on the fact that this is also an opportunity. Where especially for a guy like you? Who admittedly as a workaholic? You know to take time and and kind of sit and be with your with your family this is. This is all happening attack happening. And I think you have to find the find all the silver linings on one of those silver linings. As you're getting this time getting this time with my son that WHO knows? I probably be all over the world promoting this movie right now and now we kinda get just get to sit back this weekend and watch it together and I you know I'm in the comfort of our place so right actually. It sounds cushy. It sounds like a great thing. I mean we're all in the comfort of our places to there. Is this new world. We're living in where we're having just to kind of tone down. Turn it down. Are you adjusting to that okay? Because you seem from what I hear to be a workaholic. Who loves to sit in the studio until the sun comes up and work and work and work and now. I don't know you have more time on your on your hands. Are you okay with that or your person can handle it? I realized nobody's twenty four hundred parent but so far I haven't I haven't done anything crazy. That's what you mean. What are you eating? What snacks are you loving? While you're home right now. Like you know giving your body arrest. I also think this is the time for comfort food. Yeah it's Kinda Fun. You know my son doing computer school. I'm sure anybody there lies. Kids kids probably doing computer schools. Well And the other you know for his pre his pre K. Preschool the other day for instance we did With all of his classmates at the same time on a zoom Banana chocolate chip muffins. And I had I had a supply of muffins for the next forty eight hours. You know. That's that's the type of food or eating over here guys. We're just carbon up carbon. I don't I don't want to be creepy but what you made with all the other kids in the classes like perfect stone food. I'm so in no problem. I can't believe that Trolls the original 2016 that long ago. When can't stop the feeling came out and right now with trolls world tour? Of course we've already heard the other side by with U. insists. We're GONNA play that in a second. Is there another? Can't stop the feeling type like lift you up and like Confetti fall out of your underwear kind of song on the new soundtrack. Just like can't stop. I think our effort was to sort of make the whole movie. Feel that way but we do with the plot where these are characters. Find out that there's more than one genre of music so we got to. Actually that was more the the kind of exciting things for for me being behind the scenes and working on all all the music behind the scenes was getting to work and all these different genres of music funk and classical and country and so I don't know I feel like the movie kind of feels that way And to be quite honest. There's you can't go with your real hair with just write another can't stop this feeling like those things are kind of like lightning in a bottle for me so I I feel like I feel like our effort with this. One was maybe educate young people a little bit more on different styles of music and in a fun way innocently not like a not an appropriate story type of way but in a fun way where everybody can relate to it. Well look the soundtrack. Of course it's got twenty songs on their fall asleep at least favorite thing other than the question. Ghandi's about to ask you from this interview. So far is you can't just go in and go all right. Let's record a can't stop the feeling I feel so stupid asking that question but we're still nice. I know that that that song for me. Is that on my last tour seeing when we play at the end of the shows you not. I mean you always want one of those but I think you kinda always has to have to be respectful of you. You know they. They happen when they happen. I think well I'll tell you that. Ninety seven year old World War. Two pilot dancing chocolate video. Isn't that amazing? I don't do. I seriously got choked up guys like I was like. Oh my gosh. Rake the most random random people texting me about that specific guy so chuck. You're more than a war hero. You're like Internet sensation. Now he's total bad ass. I can't believe seven-year-old ninety seven. I'm going to be ninety seven three years. I hope I have that much tank honestly. I feel like as soon as we get out of this clementine. The first person I wanNA meet is chuck. You sounds like my era I would. I would hope would like sixty seven hours like had that much cooker. You know what I mean. The word vigor by the way could be a little more victory All right I don't know if you've been watching or not paying attention but of the question from Gandhi for you. Justin is this yes opinion question. Justin Timberlake I ask you did Carol Baskin. Kill her husband. Feed into the tunnel. I'll I mean I. I'm on the fence guys. I gotta be honest. I'm on the fence. Y'All know to documentation because I just don't know who to believe you're watching and then halfway through you realize that all the interviews on Joe Exotic are like why are they sound so merciful recoup. Because they're coming for prison and then you're like who am. I supposed to believe like watching. Watching Tiger care reminds us. All of our lives really aren't as good as we thought they were. Look I did. The trolls world tours available on demand in your home so rather than eating popcorn and the theater you eat like. Big Deal in our on our holidays. So you're right view it as well. Okay Yeah and and and who knows what they're made of because you're right they do last forever. They'll outlast us. While the Lakewood Church in Houston will doing virtual service for Easter which obviously a lot of churches have been doing lately and Mariah Carey. Tyler Perry Kanye West. They will all take part in it. It'll be virtual Easter service. Like I said it'd be very special and a lot of people I know will want to get involved there. Speaking of Tyler. Perry heat is something pretty cool. He paid for groceries for elderly shoppers in Atlanta and New Orleans at the Kroger in Atlanta and the winn-dixie in New Orleans. I know we were getting text about this. Weren't we Elvis Yeah absolutely okay. Recent story go. People didn't beat it was a total surprise. People were like just. They had their groceries paid for and they were just shocked. They had no idea that he was paying for their groceries. Who was like really cool? I love that. Celebrities are using their money to do good and to just surprise people and people that really really needed are down there locker older and really needs to be taken care of. You know. It's pretty cool. Absolutely one of our listeners actually had her groceries paid for by by him and I can't find him. I'll get it on soon as I can. Okay let's talk about Paul Walker's daughter Meadow. She just shared a really touching throwback video of herself surprising her dad on his birthday and in her post she said. I never thought that I would share this. But it really felt right and in the video she pops out of nowhere and her dad's set trailer making him. GonNa fall back on a bed giving her this big hug and it really touched the fast and furious fans because you know he's been gone for a while now and that people really miss him so sad so sad Sesame Street is doing a special episode on April fourteenth with Lin Manuel Miranda. A lot of actors are going to get together. It will be a straw sesame street. Elmo's play date. It is basically going to be on H. B. O. And PBS KIDS. All over the place. And it's trying to get kids through what is happening today because it's not easy to explain to kids on what is going on and about social distancing in why we have to do it and why you know we have to stay home and this is supposed to kind of comfort on and comfort them and help them get through it you know when Elmo explained to a kid or big bird explains it to again a lot of times. It's a little bit easier. So Broadway is remaining dark. It was supposed to open its doors again in April April twelfth exactly But now it is extending to June seventh as of right now lady Gaga is on the cover of in style magazine looking beautiful and they asked are so what is it that you want out of life right now and she says. I want to get married. I want more music more movies and I want to do more with my charity. Duleep was sitting down and doing a little iheartradio. Ask anything chat. And she loves American Horror Story. She really wants to be in American horror story so she's hoping they'll cast her in one of the seasons are boy andy. Grammer just had his second child a second daughter. You have to go to his instagram. Because there's a beautiful picture of his family it just so cute and it touched my heart and we love him because he's so sweet. And did you guys know that Lance Bass and the rest of the boys from instinct? Get together once a week on zoom to do like a happy hour and yes. Justin Timberlake does get involved. He is on the little reunion with them. So I know love to tap into that right so cool that we socal. Wouldn't you love to tap that I mean either that or just tap it okay? But there's a lot on television but if you're interested in Youtube Pudi pie dude. Perfect Mr Beast. Those are just a couple of the few that people are checking out lately on your U2. That way you say judy pies number one number one right now number one anyways. Thank you so much Daniel who we need to check in with we need to do. We need to do a wellness check. Let's do a wellness check on Justin timberlake and see what he's up to. We'll check in with him and more coming.

Who’s Hosting the Oscars in 2020? No One.

"Talk about where the Oscars stand right now. First of all they came really quickly. This was a very short season a truncated season Monday morning at five eighteen. Am Pacific difficult getting those nominations and the show starts on February ninth. which is I think the shortest season in history? If I'm not mistaken which is really odd considering when you think we'd be elongating. These things over time to get it more content out of them but the academy decided earlier run time one week after the Super Bowl and we got some information this week first of all no host officially confirmed by the academy. How are you feeling about host? I feel great about this. There was no host last year. Yes it went fine. I thought the show was perfectly clean and the ratings were up and we got a good telecast so the running back now. I don't think that the show needs a host. I do think inc.. This means that the show's ratings will go down. You think it's a cause and effect from the no host rather than the fact that it's twenty twenty and no one watches live television login anymore. I think that that is certainly a factor and maybe a much bigger factor than the host. But I need to point out that last year. Think of all the panic and anxiety and emergency emergency podcast. We had to do because Kevin Hart was the host but then he wouldn't apologize and then he wasn't the host anymore and there was a popular Oscar and there was not a popular Oscar and there was all of this energy around the Academy Awards right now. I think there's actually a lot of energy around movies which is good. We're in a great time for movies. In nineteen seventeen win at the Globes and it's opening wide died in theaters is another time where another great film has hit theaters and people are fired up about going to the movies. That's all great. It's not great for an award show though because there's no ooh tension around what's going on other than who's going to win well counterpoint. There is a lot of attention tension around. WHO's GonNa win and and we'll talk more about that but I do think it'll be an interesting race? You pointed out there. A lot of excitement about movies and particularly a lot of movies that are nominated. And you know this is just a theory. But maybe if there's less hubbub or like dragged out controversy around the ceremony itself then people are just like like Oh the Oscars. Should I watch that. I don't know anything about you know. Maybe you're grabbing people in a moment of enthusiasm instead of fatigue I saw. There's someone on twitter. Make a suggestion which I thought was very clever now. I personally believe that when you have a year like this in which the movies are good in the racist interesting. But there isn't that anxiety that we're describing you need a host because the host creates narrative all his own are all her own. Someone suggested after seeing Will Ferrell present an award Wilford might be the best awards awards presenter in the history of awards because it feels like everything is he's doing is occurring to him in real time. which is the opposite of most people? Were just reading off a teleprompter but what if will ferrell was just the a Co presenter of every award and we just shuttled out a new person you know. Here's Meryl Streep and Feral you know. Here's here's Jack. Nicholson and Will Ferrell. Here's Isla Fisher and Will Ferrell. Let's keep bringing all these random. Does you know Chris Evans and welfare would have chemistry with all of them. He wouldn't be the quote unquote host. But he would just have to riff in in one hundred eighty second bites because what you're looking for as continuity a little bit of continuity of clarity a little bit of like what will this be like a little bit of anticipation in order for an narrative for sure and a name to stay like Will Ferrell is the Co host of the core pilot. Sure I love Will Ferrell. And he's probably ably wanted to comedians that I actually fat so I I would be open to that but I think that idea is a more specific version of large idea which is the ah the presenters are always the fun part. That's actually always the thing. At the end of the night where like what were the highlights of the Oscars besides the awards. And it's someone or a pair of people who had three minutes and they they made it work and what I like about the no host option is that it dispenses with the the monologue and all of the the creaky machinery and actually does give you the option of just let the presenter shine how do you think the show should open this year. Didn't we had a musical number last year. If I recall why was it a musical. It wasn't Queen With Adam. Lambert and performance of we are the champions God. I had blocked that. No I didn't until this moment. I think two years ago maybe mistake committing two years ago we had a justin timberlake performance opening it up a song for minions remember that wondering why the Oscars are seemingly always in peril. That's how they opened the show. The last two years not ideal totally blocked these out of my memory. It's like they don't happen I think that they should not start with a song this year. Talking to hear Houston believe it or not. Well I think that similar to in practice if maybe not an execution Emmy's it if years years ago where they had a bunch of people come out to the host And they did do a musical number and it was a little bit tongue in cheek about diversity. In a way that I didn't totally love love but get a bunch of famous people on stage to start because that's that that is. That's the thing that I want to borrow okay. So maybe it's maybe not nominees but presenters or just people you like to see. I'm sure you could get the. We always come back to the rock but like you can get him on for two minutes. I don't know put the endgame cast on. What do I

"Sugar that is usually an energy drinks monster. Energy Ultra has a low calories in zero sugar. Our personal favorite. The violet can has zero calories and end zero sugar but like we said there are so many good flavors out there. They're honestly all awesome. My favorites are the Violet and the paradise ice which is the green. Can I love that one. It makes me feel like I'm on a tropical vacation and friend you liked the blue one. Yeah these drinks have made such a difference. I see everybody tagging us when they're drinking them on the weekends or at work or whatever it is. They're the perfect. Pick me up for work. Maybe you have a long day. Maybe you're going. I went out. You need a little energy. The blue one is kind of like a blue warhead after loses. It's our as just tastes like a hard candy. It's so oh so good every can we're like it tastes like candy. But that's the best part about it. Exactly you are drinking it. It feels like you're drinking candy without actually getting all the bad stuff. That candy gives you so agreed. Make sure you are trying to get that. Pick me up trying to get that Friday energy that you guys got that Monster Energy Alterra. I saw that a lot of people. Were tagging us in them drinking a monster energy before going to the Spurs concert. Oh yeah which is. Probably the best is pleased to do that. Guy Your Energy Up Fran you were drinking monster energy. Ultra before your donors players concert on Friday night which was amazing. It turned out to be a great night guys. This was was my last stop by last. Stop on the happiness begins to our I. My tour has come to an end. Stop number five not counting what. I want to see them at webster hall so I do neglect. That one wasn't as it wasn't an official stop on the tour was like Pandora like side ride show so it was like five actual stops on the happiness begins tour and then there was at Webster Hall. Show now this was my last stop so I was was it was bittersweet but it was like the one that I spent the most money on buying these e stage tickets and shot up my Jonas. Cows majority group chat chat. Jenny got their potential center. Four thirty so that she was first in line so we were the first. We were literally like the first people in the entire arena before anybody got inside inside. We had a great spot had a lot of good drinks. It was fantastic and Kevin gave me a nice little cheers. Love to see about Joe gave his tambourine to my friend. Sarah did I not say that you guys had a good chance on the radio. That won't be played in this because this on the radio but I said imagine you got. It was like a such a weird moment because she took the paper bag that we brought train drinks in and I just took a pen and wrote the Tambo. I got it in the bag in like ten on the bag and Joe saw like laughed and was like open the bag and Sarah froze like she liked panics and I grabbed grabbed one side. It was open and he just dropped it right in. I mean that's the perfect way to get the tambourine and it was nice because I also have this very. I've talked about this before we talk about how you know once you open. Somebody's instagram message. They get notified every time. Kevin made the mistake of opening opening quote my inscribe messages so every time I tag them in something e- like I can tell that he sees it or if he doesn't see it or if he ignores it so I did post a picture that my friend gotta the cheers. He liked it so I'm like Oh seen only he knows that was me that was moment I mean yes. Of course he knows it was you. You've been to six shows now. But they are very aware when they're on stage like nick is stone Cold Fox like Nick could stare into my soul and unlike recognize that. It's me and not like smile. Do anything like he's so in zone. Did you refer to him as a stone cold saying he's locked in. I think stone Cold Fox means would yes which I've just block it applied to both fees locked in onstage. He is one hundred percent. I lost a Stone Fox. Because he's he's just kind of smoldering and everybody's even if he does recognize you like he's not gonNa make a face or anything so and the lights are right. Yeah so it's Kinda hard. It was funny. I didn't go to the show on Saturday. But they're the like lighting was a little messed up for him. I guess like the spotlight. They've fucked up his spotlight pot light and at one point his was his line and his spotlight wasn't on him and he literally went like started waving like big arms like out into the crowd like get like the light and guys attention. I guess diva I mean. It's a diva but hey it's not. He wanted to be right. It's the Tour de correct. He's so he takes it so seriously and he needs. He is such a perfectionist. That when one little thing goes wrong it bothers him so much. Yeah but that's what I respect about. Nick Jonas's because he is such a perfectionist having almost makes him hotter maybe dating him would be a little high maintenance the from the outside looking in he cares about the brothers he cares about their work and aspect. I'm really and you know what I am sad that this is my last stop on this tour only because I have like. PTSD from the joys brothers like breaking up and the the last time I went before they broke up like I don't know that was going to be the last time I was in but when they broke up I thought it was going to be the last time They're they're they're in such a great place. I hope we get so many more albums and more tours. But I'm sad that this this like few months of just constantly going to join us about their shows has has come to an end. I'm honestly sat as well. I feel like it's going to be a little silent from the Jonas brothers for a little bit with more music. They'll be in Europe once they come out with more music eh. Get it again. We'll go to five more shows. was so close to Sophie. Ally saw those videos those videos. This is the one where she's been at. Yeah Yeah and she was like just in cores. Light like zip up sweatshirt because that's just how cool she is people. Of course. Yeah and usually the Jonas brothers and Mikey key Mikey. DELUCA and grow Garbo's wife have a new song out together and Sophie came out to like film them performing being their song before the Jones brothers came out it was just so sweet. She was like fan girl and she was. Just you know like another videography. Just filming our friend and shoes winter section action and it was Ki- it was very cute. It was definitely like Jersey night like the entire Delina family was there. It's like it's like Kevin's in-laws aunts uncles cousins hometown hometown. The whole section was full of of the Jersey side of of that of that family was that makes sense be as it is their hometown. Yeah that was a big night for them And the last one for you. Yeah no New Year's Eve Miami for you know sad but I feel like you know your boyfriend. Yeah spend years eve kissing. Can you like like we discussed if you were single. That's something that we would definitely plan saying it'd be like let's go to Miami Miami for New Year's Eve one hundred percent single you have nothing to do on your and you love the Jonas brothers. Yoda fucking Miami. Please do it for her. hus- to it for us live for US people. There's something I want to mention that is just so odd and I have yet to show it to you but now that it's in my head I'll bring it up. There's this girl who is imitating Ariana Grande Day on talk at home instagram. And it's creepy creepy voice or or go to a whole `nother accent and I think that there's a few Arianna ground impersonator but when I saw this one girl I saw Arianna `Grande had another tick tock but she used a fake name page Neiman. I think you pronounce it And I was like oh are underground. I just has an alter three. Go on to talk but this girl just lives looking exactly like Arianna grant it up and people were tacking on Instagram Graham. Saying can you guys talk. Show me a photo and I need to show you because it's so creepy. My God right. Isn't that so quaid as her instagram. Take Wade Wade hold the phone. We I WANNA I wanNA say the names. So every time it's page Neiman and I. E. M. A. N.. And and and this girl just lives her life every day looking like Arianna guerande creates your computer closer to me I. I'm blown own away. Imagine just living your life as as somebody else I mean. Be Your own person. In my personal opinion France face right now is honestly stunned because she looks like her to a whole new level. I've speech is crazy so I know like I know. Clearly he like she does the exact makeup. That Arianna does that definitely helps. But like I'm I'm I'm struggling here. I'm struggling do you WANNA see her tick tock she just Creates like Torius. I'm struggling because I feel like this is just somebody. It looks so much like her that I'm like is sister. Somebody taking pictures and pretending this is what she looks like. No honestly thought that Arianna Ground Day was like actually oriented `Grande. Well that's what I thought was like. Does she want to be on tick tock but doesn't want to be under her name on tectonic or on instagram. So then she does goes under this girl pages name but I don't think so because there are videos of of this girl on Tick Tock before she transformed into I on a day with her hair and makeup and it's honestly alarming lobby instagram. But I feel like it's alarming because I I feel like you should be your own person and then these people are living. Their life are anagrams. Just by being Arianna Guy. Same same name on Tick Tock. Yeah which I guess if you could you know take advantage of it at the same time. I guess it makes sense but also Creepy I've never seen anything like this. The talks that she post. She's usually doing cat videos from victorious. Hagia demon so what Fred. I wish everyone gets guys and I know I'm truly freaking out. You're telling me out. I know.

Interview with Rick from Prints Charming Company

"Rick from Prince Charming Co what we love so much about him is he takes his love and his passion for Disney and he combines it with his day job which is a printing shop and he's able to bring artists vision to life so super excited to talk about him. So of course he's going to start off by introducing himself in giving us one fun fact that you might not already know about him man one fact that you don't know about me and again this is VI prince charming for Prince Charming company EVAC. You don't know about me. I was born and raised in Florida. The first thing I ever learned how to drive it was a Zamboni at an ice skating rink man that's right. I also know how to figure skate. You told me that you don't have the castle but realistically I I'm here. I'm glad you guys is GonNa be Great. Great excited he Richard and ask good deal so you don't hear too many Floridians who are ice skater so no that is quite the interesting fact totally bazaar thing. I was fifteen years old job. There was a mall that had an ice skating rink and had an opening right was chested you at the Zamboni. They shouldn't have absolutely should not have ever but they certainly did and I had fun with that for probably two years before the tour mall down and I got to teach it's like tiny tots like three to five year olds ice skating class so imagine about twenty three to five year olds with Nias structure their feet yeah job ever most amazing job ever. Did you have to know how to ice skate before. Did did you learn for the job. I I learned on the job okay I actually decided to go crazy and like learn more than you should have the job like I you view. The jumps in this world have fun stuff. You didn't hear that man. I think the Tampa Bay lightning could use some intermission entertainment or something I can fix that for them. I got along well. That's a that's a good patch. That's probably one of the most unique facts that we've had well there you go. I'll take that so to kind of lay the foundation for everything. We'll start with your Disney story so how did it star are in ultimately evolved into starting prince charming company as far as Disney goes when I was very young I I was raised by my grandmother. Her favorite thing to do is sit in front of the television instead of raise me but it was the Disney channel so it was okay. It was all good right. Eh But the first thing that you remember connecting with and I was probably four or five years old was the skeleton dance and this actually when I saw it came from Disney's Halloween treat the original being out of eighty two. I was born in eighty two so I saw probably eighty five and I've always had like a an affinity for the Halloween and things like that especially with the Disney that paired with Jack that my father was a complete Disney for his favorite resort was always a contemporary the one resort I've never seen it. I've stayed in every every single resort except for the contemporary thus far so seeing Skelton dance than of course watching Disney channel in learning all the fun stuff and then going to the park site. My father took me at a school in verse great for like a week just to go to Disneyworld and that was in. I was hooked. I'm not you know higher. I went on the Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea ride the last day it was operations operation here in Walt Disneyworld that was it I was done. I was hooked so has it been pretty steady throughout or did you ever we go through time where you didn't like to go to. Disneyworld or didn't like Disney's much just kind of always been there always if I can get there. I was there every single day weekend month year. Whatever you WANNA call it. I mean there's Times right now. Even I go once a week. Once every couple of weeks the more it can be there the better and it's just it's Mike Fun Creative outlet for sure if I think that leads perfectly into our next question so of course Prince Charming Company is not your main Gig so you you do have a high printing. which is your full-fledged business that you spend so much time on so can you tell the story of kind of how that lead into starting prince charming cope yeah for sure ace high printing started about fifteen years ago in July two thousand four? I've been putting stickers banners posters t shirts for for everybody. We're talking. Fox Sports in mobile and work kiss Madonna Deepdale Justin Timberlake. These kinds of people alway down to your next door neighbors bar. Dr and the band planned the garage next to you I we've been doing that for years and years and years but the prince charming thing happened last July why and I was literally and you're GonNa love this one in the shower thinking. How do I find that niche market that goes into the Disney community because aw Disney's always had a special place in my heart obviously but how do you break into that small shop market without being hey. I'm ace hi. This is what we're GONNA do ned mark like that. You have to create a character entity. Were held to a break in if you will and there was I thought hey strumming because you know prince charming and I print right so I get out of the shower. I on instagram. Go on the web. I I do go the whole thing. Nobody's got it. I don't know how it went but I'll take it so I started reaching out in July last year sure to cover supply and hundred hood like that under ace high now under prince charming is are saying hey look. I'll give you one hundred free stickers. If you just try me out trying to hook into that and I probably gave thousand stickers way just to see if there was a market for it when I found there was then it was assigned to cartoon is myself and treated the prince charming as you will. This led me to create greater entirely different persona website different company and on November eighteenth last year Mickey Mouse's birthday if you will because I was actually atwill Disneyworld the time I decided this mrinal publicly so muster publicly and it's just been a roller coaster since then at the very fitting start start date right. I think it's ethics in that it was meant to be I know what we're doing so in what is it that appeals to theme park in Pop Culture Disney specifically in kind of what was it that pulled you that way. I wanted to get into that space. It feels like home that I can be the corporate prayer the small business be whatever you want all day long but when it comes is down to the Disney stuff in the small shop community in just the people we meet data feels like home that feels like my hardest it. If this is where your heart is in your creative outlet is why not be there it to me. There's a lot of small shops in a lot of community hannity shops that go find the corporate printers and things like that which is I'm not. GonNa Knock it. Ah with me. Yucky talked to a real person. I give out discounts over. You want fifteen percent off shirt. You got you WANNA package deal. You got free something. It's all yours. I don't care I'm running as high as my real comedy. The prince charming thing is to help small shops to make all these smaller people people realize I say smaller people that makes me sound terrible. The smaller shops small community realized that you don't have to go super corporate to make it work. There's someone just like you sitting in a little ten by ten office with a printer that says hey I can do this quicker faster better aw that's like the slogan for detoured and I really do this but I think that's a really important quarter-point that you know it's kind of small businesses helping other small businesses in that there are other options because I think a lot of people who are are starting out. You just don't know you don't know what's out there. You don't know what the options are and it's really beneficial to work with someone like you. Who has you know people's best interest in mind like you're willing to sit down and take the time to explain everything because vigor corporations don't do that you now. I'm not here to take anybody's money. I'm here to make sure that you guys. Somebody doesn't have to take you know. Do I need it compensated for what we do obviously obviously but I'm not here to hurt anybody. I'd rather make sure all the small shops flourish and it's kind of. I don't want to call it a crusade. There are a couple of online Brennan companies that I am willing to take down one order time yeah yeah because I mean in like Catherine said there's so many like artists that we've talked to and designers that they just say look I don't. I can't front that much money to do do a full-fledged operation or I don't have all these options out there that I have to use you know. Xyz Main big company that you would go out there for so it is so refreshing to know that there's alternatives out there and I think it's an added Bonus Cherry on top that you do get Disney like you understand the culture around it. You understand why people love it so much. Love the parks in love. The movies and I do think there is an intrinsic value that can't be he put down on the bottom line that that you bring in that aspect. I was born and raised in the parks. This is what I do. It's what I what I love. if it has to be not that I meet up at the parks to deliver things or even go over design with you or you come to my shop. I mean I'm not that far. One of the big things that I really like to point out. Is that starting the next two weeks. We're GonNa Start doing something that is free sample pack and this is going to include whatever piece of artwork you send me. I'm going to go ahead and do the work set it all up front lawn sticker incentive for free along with one of my stickers of hundred Acre Hood stickers when apart supplies stickers one source or radio stickers. "All right so this is your second time with the pot getting our concern Osama veteran okay known at the table. No crunchy snacks crunchy snacks. No no shaking of the coffee ice loud. There are months where like weeks will go by. We're I'm like how am I literally. Don't know where your I will not have seen you for two weeks. Yeah that is basically the story of my life. Sometimes I don't even know where I am. I'll wake up hotel. Mike Oh yeah no. I'm in Appleton Wisconsin. Oh No oh now I'm in San Antonio Texas. Yeah I mean we talk about a few issues in your job in general but in our travel issue that came on May so you you shot almost the entire feature will yeah does may two thousand nineteen you were in Beirut with Andy Burgundy tracked and then you I'm just flip through the pages then you were in Taipei with Suli and also burgundy and Andy any wanted to tag on everything so that was a big photo portfolio of yours your shot in Allison Rome in spring break menu story that was just in New York yeah that was here in the building the buildings that was as basic recipe story and then you shot photos for our red sauce America package which brought you. Where did you go for this one? Oh man that was a lot. I think that was six cities L. A. L. A. Philly New Orleans. Oh my God. Where did I go? I mean you literally can't remember yeah I it was like four to five cities. I guess my first question is I think a lot of fans of yours. WanNa know like how do you end up as a staff dog for at a food magazine like whenever someone asked me about this is I'm the worst possible personnel asked because it's purely luck and circumstance stance and my only goal and still the only like hey just don't get fired and spend closing up on your six and I still get asked to come back every day and there were definitely moments early on we're Alex pollick grocer artificial photo department critic Blake. I'M GONNA kill Lau a huge mistake so you start off as an intern turn years ago yeah. That's my freshman year of college. I just wanted to do something with my life and not just go home for the summer to California and you know Oh bummer and my parents house so I wanted to find an internship and I've always had a fascination with the magazine world apply too much internships. Nobody got got back to me in like a week. Before summer started. I saw a posting for esquire magazine to be a fashion closet intern. Oh and I was like that sounds cool. That sounds way out of my reach. I am hugely under qualified for that but I'M GONNA shoot my shot and Michael Steph. who was the fashion assistant at the time got back to me? He's like when can you come in based on what oh it. Did you have background. It was the most underqualified letter ever. It was basically hey. Here's my resume. I was a lifeguard in high school. I was a high school tutor and I intern at the State House in Massachusetts in politics nothing related to magazines but I really love menswear and here's like my favorite menswear blogs and here's my favorite brands brand's. I like fashion. I can work hard and he got back to me. Can I just say that. I am a lot of times when I talked to young people who are just out of college in their writing you you know letters to inquire about a job and they read like they're written by a law firm. I'm always like learning be yourself. Be passionate sort of expose yourself so to speak but that's what's GonNa grab some somebody's attention one hundred. I think the way I showed her. The letter wasn't like the formerly hi my name's dogs home. Hey My name's Alex. I'm really excited about this. I know him not meant for this Gig but I will do whatever it takes gap and so forth and they took a chance on me and that kind of was my segue into the New York City magazine publishing world and it turns out having square on your resume. Just opens opens up a lot of doors but it was great. It was just my eighteen years old. I didn't get paid but I got to see how magazines work I've got to be on fashion shoots Justin Timberlake Lake and Ryan Gosling and wow poll like hold fourteen thousand dollar jackets and look it Nick Sullivan whose whose the editor in chief at the time Grainger David David David grange just like talk shop and like this is amazing. This is legendary and that made me really WANNA stick with it yeah very recall okay so internship at esquire. How then does that lead you to be a so after that? I was convinced that I wanted to stay in publishing. Look fashion. menswear ended up at Nylon guys Juku for a little bit complex four pins so I was very very much in that circuit as an intern just doing minimal intern work but after a couple of years I was just like this is not really what's my angle here. I don't WANNA be stylus. I don't WanNa be a fashion writer. The idea of being a photographer and fashion was just you know. I didn't even sit down. That's not going to happen so after this is my third yes approaching my third year of college. I A Internet a bunch of or apply uh-huh bunch of other internships again. Nobody got back to me. Despite actually this I'm being off and having a lot of magazines in Monroe oster I applied to like yeah a a couple of mags won't be noted but they're they're. They're okay. They just get back. I mean I saw a posting for bone apetite photo internship and I was like I know nothing nothing about food. I like pictures. I took photo classes in high school and college. So how active a photographer were you at this point. It's like I'm not active. I don't know I took a lot of fissures in high school. I had my own flicker account. I you were you were you were definitely interested. We're sitting at least and I took pictures of the school paper and stuff like that. I I was a you know an avid hobbyist as major so do you did you come in an interview like what God you the job ultimately so I went in again. It's always like a last minute. Call in showed up from Boston and I met with Jake. Ramoser are former photo assistant and he he gave me a talk. Hey so turn yeah. It looks like you've worked a lot of magazines. you have zero photo experience and you have zero food experience so you're pretty underqualified but honestly the only person here that's interviewed. That's worked at large publications so we're GonNa go with you. So that was basically it was it was Bazeley. Hey you're you've worked at reputable places so we'll hire yeah. I do think that's interesting interesting career wise like over the years. I've worked at James Beard Foundation in Time Out New York and the food's severe than G. Q. Got more fashion thing that came back to food. I was a sports writer in college like it is you can move around and I think one thing that editors employers look for is that you do have experience in in a particular field and that you know how to get stuff done that you know under you understand what the industry requires but within that sort of industry you can shoot food. You can shoot you know people. You can do all these things. You don't have to be in one lane. One hundred percent I think at the time I was taking some classes and I was also I was studying NPR print journalism at the time and I remember talking about that with Jake and he was like Oh. This is a plus because you kind of understand writing thing and photography on some level so we'll run with this so he didn't internship summer internship a year or so later. We ended up hiring you as a foot assistant no so I did this summer internship and I was like this is way better than working fashion. Everyone's so much nicer yeah yeah. It was a great time and I was like in order for me to WANNA stay in this world I can see I need to shift from fashion to food media so then I went back to Boston awesome for my senior year and as as I left Alex pollock the photodetectors times like hey we love your great. Just reach out when you're when you're graduating we can like. Maybe you keep you keep you happy. Come back so I would always send emails and I say hey just graduated like three months three or four months. I would love to come talk about a photo editor assistant role. Did you in the interim year. Were you working on shooting things. Decrease your portfolio to share with Alex to say hey I just want. I've been shooting a lot. Take a look at my stuff. Yes so thankfully because of my time I she went over to Boston magazine for my senior of college and I ended up being digital intern which basically means I was just doing every anything and everything for the website correct the king yeah yeah I remember being so proud and like twenty years old on my I've got years of intern experience. I haven't been paid for any of them but you we know I've seen some stuff like that really was my my pride enjoy worked a lot of places and they harden managed digital intern and they also gave me bill do photo take pictures and do have my own bylines socially once a lot of times when you get your foot in the door somewhere are the the brand or the magazine wherever they need people to do stuff go. You can go okay but we'll trust you. There's something trustworthy about you. Then people are all right. Go give this a shot. You'd have a DVD will keep doing it. I must really thankful that it was a web internship versus print because obviously no one's GonNa give any Interna print byline whereas it's much lower risk to teachers hey make something for lab and if it's really good we'll Polish and if not we won't publish in no one will ever or care about low budget so it was just gave me a lot more freedom and they knew that I worked at the food magazine before okay so you know how to take pictures of food. You were photo intern turn. I'm like yeah I guess I mean I. I saw Marcus Nelson. Do you like an overhead shot of something by a window so I can do that. How hard can it be yeah so I mean I I? I did it and they would. It was really cool. I mean they sent me there. Okay so we'll just have you do restaurants so they would send me like once a week in shoot for four restaurants a week and just shoot it for their website so who was giving you guidance about photos style at that point what kind of shots they wanted from the restaurants. It's nobody else really. They just assumed you knew what you were doing. The funny thing is I applied to Boston magazine to be a photo inter. I WANNA continue that path that track of being working for requirements it's but they they didn't want but then the digital department got back to me. I didn't really have communication with the magazine so it was just kind of me and our digital editor who just send me. I was like Oh this. Let's get this close enough to bone advocate and some overhead shots off light and like keep doing this and I would just bike around Boston Jason and go to a bunch of restaurants that are digital restaurant editor Chris Hughes covered and yeah it was it was really good training. It's really good training. I looking back it was really great just being able to go in and practice and shoot restaurants for relatively low risk and have that be an internship set eh great base so then I shot all these restaurants and as shooting what's in all this stuff to Alex pollick. I'm like hey portfolio.
