NCAA Tournament East Preview
"Welcome to coincide with greenberg dockage in the south bracket where the number one seed is. Bela number two seaters iowa states. Let's get right into it. John gallagher wild and i like john gallagher. Head coach at hartford neighborhood. Man the neighborhood who here west hartford the neighborhood as the ultimate philly guy. John gallagher is the ultimate dilly guy. I've already got the text from. I've spoken is tipped off banquet a year ago. The dude is certifiably insane in a good way. What he no one is going to enjoy the ncaa tournament more than it. So as soon as they won they immediately went to indianapolis and starts to quarantine and have experienced john. Enjoy it. we're gonna say nice things about you. You're a good guy. And ballard dance so nokes no trepidation about baylor's performance against oklahoma state. Oklahoma states really good people are losing their mind. What at at baylor games. They're playing in the big twelve. They're not planning west coast conference. You're playing in the big twelve. You're planning against other teams that have good players. You're gonna lose games all right. The next game is interesting. Opening round games wisconsin. Why i think he's just not right against north carolina who depending on the day is not right. I mean real simple carolina. You can take care of the ball. Are you gonna make your shot if you take care of the ball and at least get shots up. Then you have an advantage. Except that as we know wisconsin wisconsin's analytics over. Like if you just look at their analytics you would think they'd win every game. They don't give up second shots that will turn it over. They get pretty good shots but they don't play winning basketball. I know that sounds weird. But there's something not right. I think carolina find a way to win that game except the carolina. Jecklin hide reminds of this game. Would you like i like carolina. And this and i look whatever's happened to nate rivers whether it's kobe whether it's whatever it just hasn't been good. I expected more out of him. They don't run their stop nearly as well as they didn't pass they rely too much on one. And frankly they're not a one on one team. And you know what would those big garrison brooks bay. Come and all and bacon's and everybody else you can get into wisconsin. Guards make them drivers into traffic. I think this is a pretty good match up for north carolina. I just think they're better. And i think they're going to win the basketball game and i think they're going to win it fairly big. So if you wanna bet on a game this probably going to have tyke spread. That's gonna move it out a little bit. I think this is the game i think. North carolina wins by double digits. All right to winter is the sexy upset. eco nova plant without conquests. Be justin moore play the other day but wasn't good. They started the set a little bit. You know this is. This is a winter key. May play really fast. I've got a low post lower burns at play him about fifty minutes game. he's really productive. Obviously they got a very good camera. Badran the big six seven kind of point guard because they run the show through a tuck this about. They're extremely aggressive. Pat kelsey really likeable dude. Winter months play fast was gonna try to get into half court who you like. Well i i agree with everything you said. I think winter got a hell of a team. But if this was any other organization other than j j rights organization i would say the winthrop's gonna win the basketball game but you still have robinson hurl. You still have samuels. And if healthy justin moore. You've got three guys. You've got the best three guys on the court. And that always bodes. Well now the point guard situation okay. It is what it is. We all know that point guards at villanova stuff are important. It is the sexy. Pick the five twelve upset all that kind of stuff. But i'm not betting against jay wright and his organisation they just seem to overcome things that need to be overcome when they need to be overcome. I great i agree all right. So now this is an interesting north texas by gurus helmi north texas guards. The crap you absolutely flat can guard you an elite defensive team. They put great pressure notable they then eyeball reversal on play. Two man game with javon Handle it let the point guard and that they are really really good solid defensive team. They turn people over there really aggressive. But you've seen teams like that. Purdue doesn't beat themselves. You pretty has probably i i do. I think this is going to be right down to the wire south because what. I've talked to people today actually. Starting last night couple guys. I was surprised. North texas beat western kentucky. Not because i knew anything about no taxes. But because i saw western kentucky for three games and and they're really good athletic on the wing. Strong tough. I think what you said about the all of the defense bits. Dramatically bad against purdue get up into. They're not the quickest. Get shot team jay nineties really the only one that can i think this is going to be. I'm going to bet against purdue because i think produce offensive analytics put them in the top ten. But nobody's really pressured purdue nobody's really got into them and under wings. Don't take this game for granted. North texas is going to cover whatever the point spread is pretty wins. It the end. Are you got another big time. Texas tech utah state and utah state. Pounds that thing in pain name is cadence a big physical that play a four round. One run actually pretty good motion and so pretty good actions to me. The kid just being an interesting precedent. Don't shoot it as well as they happen to pass but they really defend the top five rebounding They're a very good offensive antiques. Keta against texas tech doesn't have a legitimate big tonight. I mean or cassette said
3 Reasons Why Big East is the Most Intriguing Basketball Tournament
"Is my real opinion. I think the big east tournament is the most intriguing one for for this reason. There's a handful of reason number. One villanova has no point guard now. Justin moore ankle the kospi's we just found out that justin. Moore's not going to be playing in this thing Twenty seven points per game between those two now. I mean the game from villanova as we know in the new iterations of the biggies has been dominant. They win the regular season. Big east tournament right over there still time and here still good enough to win at eight. So let's not get ahead of ourselves and count them out yet but it makes it a lot more interesting because it's like. Oh what house villanova congress because your best player yes. He's not playing. Yeah what what are the what's going to happen. They're seen hall saint john's. I'm looking at this game on thursday. That is like a. I don't know if it's a plan but it's play out for sure. Whoever loses that game doesn't that's intriguing creighton. The greg mcdermott situation. I hear you say loser leaves town man. That was really the we we know the greg mcdermott's situation they got bruin there but like they're they're they're working through. Whatever that is like xavier saver that is on the bubble. They'll they might be playing crates and crates trying to get some mo jo bags and butler had that one game against villanova where they realized life and then and then we get to the bottom of the bracket with yukon you. Let's be honest. Your own has slowly turned into the favorites and again this is not a companyman move. I know we have coach. Dan hurley on the show today but uconn in the you know the majority of the country it feels like they don't know who to look to to college basketball and therefore defacto we go to uconn right here. We are back in the big east for the first year. Back in madison square garden in the big eastern star seem to be a line if you're yukon though bula there
Villanova wins Big East title; McDermott coaches under fire
"Justin Moore dropped in twenty four points and tenth ranked Villanova wrapped up the big east regular season title by defeating number fourteen Creighton seventy two sixty Jay Wright's team raced to a nineteen point lead and clinched its seventh regular season title in his last eight seasons we don't really talk about it we will the end of the season but it's it's good it's great for our seniors it's great for our school it will come in and watch films modern practice and try to learn from this better get ready for province however the Wildcats finished the game without star guard Collin Gillespie due to a left knee injury suffered in the first half the blue jays were in action for the first time since coach Greg McDermott came under fire for using racist language in a postgame locker room talk I'm the ferry
No. 19 Creighton rolls past No. 5 'Nova behind Zegarowski
"Ninety three Creighton won for the sixth time in seven games by ripping number five a little over eighty six seventy Marcus Carrasquillo scored a season high twenty five points I just try to stay dresses you know as much as possible you know whereas score whether that's making plays for my teammates soon no the shots you know failure I thought that my teammates you know got me going really really well early on they found me in which open things up for them as well Mitch ballock had seventeen of his twenty points in the second half Bolick made three of his six three pointers during a thirteen to run that that extended the blue jays advantage to sixty seven forty eight it was Creighton's first win over a top five opponent since beating Villanova in February two thousand eighteen Justin Moore a twenty one point to the Wildcats worst loss in fifteen months I'm Dave very

"I guess we'll actually breathing out. I trying to i might confuse myself. I to keep it there before. I i go off the rails and my next question is just as a good element list. It's when you will get a squad Simple it's not simple but it's an example of right. The ability to change levels into express. A full squad is going to be indicative of visibility to go from two back the Or er to your and then to reverse that process on the way up. So into a deep squat and the ability to sit into a you know a Heels full squad shows you a lot about this person's tendencies biases right because if again from media's the example can't break parallel read. I can't even get to parallel when we first started this and and what. You're looking at this overwhelming impressive strategy. That is literally turned my ass. Tabula out the side. Right and not allowed me to express the internal rotation through the middle range of hip flip chin than i need to move through that and then we can't even talk about expressing the counter mutation and installation strategy necessary to get all the way to a bottom of squad which is again inhalation and expansive strategy in order to sit all the way down you have to be able to descend the pelvic diaphragm and bush guts..

"If i start off already greater concentric orientation or greater activity from that muscle. It loads that tendon faster and it will reduce the amount that it can actually deform. The deformation is yielding action which were overcoming action is when that energy now becomes utilized or whatever. Activity are trying to to participate in the the the guess position be good hor As far as the shortening of that muscle prior to that activity helps you. is an indicator as far as how much that tendon is going to yield. And how quickly you are loading that Soft tissue and then how quickly are than be utilizing. So let's take justin's verge jim as a really good example cannot get depth to save his life cannot absorb energy very effectively so as he hits the bottom of his counter movement. Looks like you just hit a rock and so if the if this is a soft tissue if it's only able to long eight maybe like three or four inches is only able to elongate another two inches because of how stiff is must always already was already bullying on that rubberband more so it wasn't effectively taking advantage of the full excursion of that soft tissue and then utilizing it for any kind of kind of activity other than i need to get this trump the crap if i if i want to get charged lift off the ground i will break pretense might tendons and pretense myself tissue. It's not just tendon. That goes into the bone itself. In order to effectively. Catapulted off the ground asap when i'm trying to as you've already alluded to joel. Elegantly in gracefully go into announced a cut go into and out of a jump and really demonstrate full excursion in utilization of that soft tissue there is a optimum position of muscle stiffness of muscle length and pressure within the system to demonstrate and justin was limiting himself or certain activities based on his strategy that was utilized. And you can see that in his range of motion measure so he he didn't have any internal rotation in whatsoever so yet cut because of that position of his asa tap like negative five to negative ten degrees of i are on the right and zero on the left and there's differences relative to the position of his pelvis that are creating the symmetry. But you'll overall shape pelvis wasn't allowing for any internal rotation.

"That they're utilizing can change the stiffness in the quality of the soft tissue that changes how you're absorbing and utilizing the energy through athletic both and then as well as improving the the motion abilities for the activities that they're trying to participate in zone justice case it's changed direction Sprinting things of that nature. same thing but with the added Emphasis on rotation or baseball so hitting throwing whatever Enabling you to have motion to effectively transfer all of that energy through your entire body is paramount to any any athletic ever that can be powerlifting olympic weightlifting. That could be baseball That can be changed direction. It's just going to change specifically to that activity How how your band. Spring that energy the timing necessary for transferring that energy. And that's all going to be specific to how you're training for so if there's a stretch shortening cycle in olympic weightlifting and in powerlifting. It's just gonna be different compared to sprinting or throwing a baseball and how you train for. That will prep you for that. So it's a very interesting idea that i've kind of been coming to terms with insofar as like you know the said principle is always going to reign supreme and i don't think i was at least appreciating not enough. You know a year ago where. There's no such thing as a general adaptation. There's no such thing as a a true. Gp phase there's just specific adaptations that can be applied more readily to a wider range of activities. I have Someone who's dead lifting and squatting all the time there's specific adaptations to those activities that could potentially be detrimental to certain activities and there could be adaptations that could be advantageous to just depending on who they are. Let's take someone who a good example of this would be like You know a bambi kid like they squat. Account looks like melted. Candle can really generate that much stiffness. And they're trying to play athletic endeavors. That require them. To create more stiffness to absorb energy within their soft tissue more effectively something like Trap dead lifts heavier lifting that require them to generate that stiffness would be more advantageous for their their sport because again that's specific to them and what they're trying to achieve and what they can't achieve justin who has always Creating the stiffness whatsoever if he ever measure hips or at least have the luxury of doing some range of motion testing on him. You'll you'll find that out pretty quickly as soon as you put your leg in your hands With you know he has no issue creating that's Does he need more of the trap are dead lifting. If he needs less of that stiffness to optimize how he's usually using his stretch shortening cycle within change of direction within sprinting. Probably not. I mean as far as like i don't wanna put Pitchforks and torches to strengthen conditioning weight lifting heavy. Because like i said it's just a matter of identifying adaptation specific to those activities and did they match up with what that person needs at that time. Justin elbow got. He got plenty of that with you. Know his entire training history..

"It's a matter of You know when we look at an individual's kind of situation we sake look at an individual situation we say a what is this person needs to reach their goals right whereas our endgame and then we establish certain things that we need to track and we don't want to lose so maybe it's range of motion. Maybe it's some sort of table tests or we will get the squat a lot because it's an easy test that we can kind of check back in on especially in my in my where. I'm coach right. So i don't wanna keep putting people back on the table the time but i do do need to respect that. Training certain elements has secondary consequences. Right that might take away range of motion that might talk the take some of these structural adaptations to a place that i don't want them to go and so we constantly check back in with. Okay what are the performance metrics. We're moving in the direction. Go from a performance perspective and then also worth some of the elements that we can track as like a proxy for health. And how can we make sure that we don't let those go outside of the band with that is acceptable to us right. So so One of my clients baseball players perfect example camp oven going back and forth back in a little bit as well. So he's a young kid right and these are very very dedicated Loves the sport literally will practice reader four hours a day on his own. No one is making him do that. And so he has some pretty significant movement restrictions from a very young age and sabrina significant in in his movement But he's a forceful powerful athlete. Who is also actually very technically sound baseball player so the key is like you wants to run a faster sixty. He wants to hit the ball harder and throw the ball harder so he can go play college based less rate but i gotta make sure that in the process of doing that we are able to put him in position where a he can maximize the movement that he needs in order to it the baseball well because that's not all just about your force production. Bright he needs to be able to express certain positions and surin velocity characteristics. That maybe he can access right now. So that's important but at the same time He's he's only fifteen years old right so we have to keep him in the game. Long enough for him to actually realize is potential as an athlete. So while i'm training him to improve his sixty working on sperm mechanics. Working on sprinting imply. Metrical the things we would normally do. And while we're training rotational power and all those elements i'm also tracking is squad. I'm tracking able test. And i'm making sure that we're either recapturing motion will. We're not losing what we've gain so that over time we drive these. These performance base adaptations. Were not just taking away. Something needs for health or even rotate junk. Vomits is baseball going off of that. I think it's even Interesting with these cases too because talking about justice. Kpi's that we've been working with The baseball player The demonstration Based on their case. I'll preface with based on their case Paramount near in higher to do things right so based on both of their cases as you're improving the range of motion you're potentially improving their performances. Well for a number of different reasons..

"So thank you on the show guys Just in let's kick this off. You had an awesome Facebook or social media post describing this but describe your The injury that you had about a year ago and some of the factors that led up to that and then kind of the story that led you guys to working together. Yes oh jolt. Thanks again for having me back on the post that i made. We gotta kinda take steps back before that because i have a lengthy history with that need that led me to that point and so i tore my acl three times in three years playing college football. The first one was a contact injury but looking back on it and kind of knowing what we know now. It's not all that surprising that it was my right. Acl in it happened three consecutive times. I ended up going back able to play games able to finish my by my football career there but afterwards i wanted to continue to list. They got really passionate about olympic lifting training hard and heavy lifting for years. When all of a sudden i had a staph infection hop up in that same knee couple years later So that was a ten day hospital. Stay that was two knee surgeries to clean it out so that was up to five surgeries by two thousand fourteen on that knee and so coming out of school. We'd done with sports. I just wanted to live Becoming a strength coach in really finding my passion their what. I have this kind of underlying issue. That was always. They're always had right a on. Who's always a little bit uncomfortable but was able to work through it and continue to lift to do what i wanted. Couple years later decided through ignorant talking to my girlfriend. Monica that we were going to do a half marathon together for fun. And i wanted to be supportive in some ways because she enjoyed running get her back in training on. I'll do so you're trained for this half marathon before we know like i'm more invested training for it than she is is of course i didn't want to do anything you know unprepared so i was running berry art but at the same time. I think we'll get this at some point. You know i wasn't giving up lifting so still lifting really hard in addition to prepping for half marathon and not only with my injury history but also with with me as an individual in my biases Running a half marathon. It's not the best idea is just not really what built for not really. What particularly good at bud. You know something that i enjoy doing. It was a really fun experience the day before that half.

"The value of heavyweight lifting and the effects of heavyweight lifting over time. You're going to have a lot of camps that really prioritize and value the improvements of one our ems and lifting heavy and hard. And at the same time you have a fair number of high level. Sports performance coaches. Some of whom are very adamant against heavyweight lifting and heavy barbell trading for athletics citing limitations elasticity range of motion amongst other things as with so many things. The answer is often as to whether to do or not to do is often fairly individualistic and often lies somewhere in the middle based off the athlete standing in front of you what do they need their presentation. What's their history and the more we can understand the big picture with all this stuff and all the nuances and little variables that go into what happens when we dump a particular stimulus in the system. What is going to happen to the athlete. So our guests are justin moore and michael camper. Any justin moore has been a popular guest on this podcast many times in the past and has discussed advance by mechanical principles in regards things like breathing positioning and strength training bio mechanics of the big lifts and a whole lot more. I've learned a lot from him. And i'm really happy to have him back. He is the professional development manager and a master instructor at payback performance in rehab. Michael capellini or campo is a sports physical therapist phoenix arizona. He has previously worked with athletes of all levels and ages with experiences. Strength coach at parabolic and campo has completed internships with very high level coaches and therapists at places such as resilient physical therapy and fast and he's completed clinical rotation with bill hartman. So for this show We're going to chat a little bit about justin's case studies so a case study of justin moore and his history of knee injuries and some of the negative things that happened to him over the years. from a physiological and structural standpoint from tons of heavy lifting with a strain base strategy and. This is such an awesome case. Study 'cause justin and campo get into the nitty gritty of what specific key performance indicators. Are we looking at one. We are saying. Hey this out that yes has been lifting too much too much compression too much strain and then we get into specific strategies on how they worked with justin to help him overcome that and to get to doing the things that he wanted to do specifically in this case playing. Play football at a high level. This podcast has so many implications for really anytime. You're looking at that question of is this athlete lifting heavy too hard and too often. And what's happening with that over time. It's a topic. I'm really passionate about. And these guys do an awesome job of just bringing so many angles to the table and opening up our is in new directions so he could survive athletes to a higher level before we get started again. "You wanna be that really bouncy ball hitting the ground. You don't wanna be the iron rod hitting the ground and not going anywhere and i think that's where i leave strength. Train highly specialized individuals who takes strength train too far in create some of these aggressive strategies as well as the structural adaptations with thicker stiffer tissues. They actually start to lose the ability to effectively utilize elastic energy. Because there is very little to no your system. Let's get a little bit more specific about his name. In order to appropriately absorb fours. With larry just to bend in need of land the cut anything like that. It needs to demonstrate internal rotation. That's what you need in order to flex. So you need in order to change levels at that george specifically because of the amount of stiffness that use generating and because of the shape change within his pelvis that is now limited on him from the. That was justin moore and mike hampering. You're listening to the just fly performance podcast and before we get to the show. Today i wanted to mention a really cool item. Pet is available now from our sponsors simply fast dot com in their store. That item is exegen. Premium wearable resistance exegen is a series of tight fitting sleeves along with uniquely shaped use a form weights that strapped directly onto though sleeps. So what i mean is you can have shin sleeves leaves arm sleeves shorts and a and you can strap these uniquely use a form shaped weights their light nature one hundred two hundred grams that strap on in a way that allows you not only to resist movement very specifically but also add. Fine tuned elements rotation to that resistance. So this is the next level of wearable resistance. You may have heard this from back long ago on the show. Hank cryan hof talking about it too recently. Chris corpus sprint coach. Talking about it. This is the next level in premium. Wearable resistance. I've used it myself. I love it. I love not only the way it feels and the way you feel form and technique change. It's like combining technique with power and so often we just think about weighted vests as just pure force pure downward gravity loaded resistance. This is the ultimate combination technique with power and it shows up and things like chris corpus being able to take time off athletes. Ten meter fly by putting the sleeves just on one side of the body hips lateral resistance. Were using the body's own systems fine tuning it and that's what this does. It allows you as a coach or an athlete to create explore and fine tune the way that the resistance is rotationally. Impacting the body. This is next level stuff. And i know you'll love it so you can check that.

"Oh Smith thanks for being here today. We have back on the show for his third appearance. Justin Moore Justin is the head performance coach at parabolic performance and Rehab up in Montclair New Jersey just in has a wide swath of experience in the athletes. He has worked with all the way from ice dancers pro football players eight year year olds and everything in between he is highly involved in combine. Prep as well. And he has been on two other awesome shows episode seventy eight which was indepth on weightlifting and then one twenty four on sprint and speed training and one thing that Justin overlays or puts a backdrop to all these things is the bio mechanics and function launch of the human body. Just in his well-versed the concepts of PRI PASTA restoration institute workings teachings of Bill Hartman and many other elite coaches. So you're always gonna see this fully holistic fully integrative viewpoint of how the body works. And how we should therefore assess and train green it as a result. And it's information that you're not gonNA get a lot of other places. I always love having Justin on this show today. We're going to get really into an area of bio mechanics mechanics and sports performance. That thankfully is getting more attention. And that's the idea of interoil rotation and knees in that idea knees in jumping and it's something that all great jumpers and all great athletes utilize. You can't be elastic unless you internally rotate so the question then becomes well well. One is the knees traveling inwards in for example. Jump a bad thing because this is the very thing that ACL programs are manufactured around round is avoiding this completely which is Kinda like the same thing as saying just donate. We know that there's a band with between pro nation and Super Nation. And so well I don't want to steal any of this episode but this There's clearly has to be a delineating line and where this knees in or may eh become injurious and that is where the knowledge of Justin Moore is just phenomenal and on another level almost entirely Justin has mentor ship from the workings of PRI Partial Restoration Institute Bill Hartman and many other elite coaches and so justin is going to tackle this question of of knees and when might this naturally occurring phenomena of elite elastic athletes become a bad thing and when and why and he goes into it from a perspective not Not just He gets outside the box. He goes into it on a body fluids and hydraulics and respiration perspective active a proximal or working inside to outside perspective that not only gives us a fuller view of the human body a fuller view its workings but also helps us to really assess the an athlete from totally holistic perspective when engaging these things because the last thing we want is just to coach athleticism out of athletes. Because somebody a decision is bad when we clearly see the opposite being demonstrated in so many elite athletes. So I'm going to hang up my pre roll at this point. Let's get onto this show with a brilliant coach Justin Moore of parabolic performance of something that I really wanted to get to today was and this is something. We talked about bottle bit before the show was the idea of knees in jump takeoff so obviously we all know that the news traveling inwards a rotating indoors is a really important important element of elastic return in jumping. And I think that's finally something. The industry is starting to take hold of that. This is normal. We shouldn't coach this out of all athletes instantly. Think it's this horrible thing But what in in what cases or in your opinion what when does that potentially it becomes a problem or is there athletes where the needs are traveling in where this may be an issue where we need to pretentiously intervene and do something differently than it just letting them continue to jump the way they are. Yeah it's it's an interesting question and it's it's a tough one. I think the first thing we have not understand is that context is always going to be king near And so I can't give an exact answer in terms of the situation where it's appropriate to intervene and not but will we can appreciate wishy. Eight is exactly or why that situation arises to begin with so why we see people utilizing doing this kind of Knees coming closer together like twitch being in strategy and we see throughout athletic performance right we see in jumping but but we also see it in lifting right we see the best Olympic lifters in the world coming out of the bottom of a squad and their knees come towards each other twitch towards towards each other right and then they come back out and everyone's like oh it's you know it's values it's bad but when you look at the best lifters in the world They all do it. And and when you look at the best jumpers in the world they all do yes there is something to this right in. There has to be a reason that the system self organizes itself in this way to produce output. So I think bill's explanation for what is happening here is is probably the most coherent and the best that I've heard so far and I always tell people like go to bill go to the intensive to learn this stuff. Don't just take my word for it because like anything else going to the source is incredibly valuable. There's always something lost in translation when you are Kind of going through a secondary source but from my understanding following the Ark of the hip joints and of of human movement. Right as I begin in a standing position and I begin to descend into a slots. Right I am going to be externally externally rotating and I'm going to be inhaling an expanding and my pelvic floor is going to be descending once I begin to hit the sticking points or around the sticking points what I'm going to see a reversal of that I'm going to see internal rotation. I'm going to see a explanation. Compression and ascension of the pelvic floor and this is also goes goes along with new of sacred which occurs at that sticking point and then once I've passed through the sticking points and I go below the sticking pinpoint reverse again. I'm going to see inhalation. External rotation expansion in order to get to the deepest squat. I'm going to see my pelvic floor needing to descend maximally and my sacred to counter new tate. So if if I do that correctly if I can go through the entire respiratory excursion then I'm going to see a pelvis that goes straight down in space with thorax that is oriented directly over top of it. And you should see the pelvis shooting backwards or talking talking under. You should not see excessive but wink do not see a massive reversal of the lumbar curve. We're talking about injury pelvic movements and we're also talking about orientation of the femurs and then as I go to a send out of the squad. It's going to go back the other way. Originally I am in an yard. Inhaled expanded position with a descended pelvic floor in order to pass through the sticking points. I need to move towards internal internal rotation compression explanation. New tation of the sake room and ascension of the pelvic floor because the pelvic floor a a sending is propulsion. It is shoot literally shooting my guts back up into my thorax. As has I exhale which is also allowing my thoracic diaphragm to a send. So imagine like a piston right. We're just utilizing that Piston. The the Piston. Like action of the Thoracic and pelvic diaphragms to move the internal Fluid which is our guts and the internal internal to manage the internal forces of our body in order to get ourselves to overcome gravity. Or whatever load we're dealing with right and so once I've passed the sticking point at propelled or move towards propulsion. Then I'm going to go back to external rotation inhalation expansion counter new room and moving towards descended pelvic diaphragm as I finished the Stanford Right. So if I apply that concept and I understand the Ark of the HIP joint starting from an extended hip position or were imaginary neutral position or standing is as far as getting to sixty ish degrees and passing through the sticking point it goes to I are and then as I pass the sticking sticking-point it goes to our again then when I look at somebody who is jumping right. I see an individual who is utilizing in internal rotation moment internal location in abduction moment of the femurs in order to allow them to open the pelvic outlet. Because if I contract my ad bilaterally I will hold hold the outlet apart. And they're utilizing that strategy to open the outlet which allows me to ascend the pelvic floor a send the pelvic diaphragm which allows me to push the guts back up into the thorax and a send the thoracic diaphragm so it is literally a repulsive strategy. It's an exhaled strategy that is allowing them to get the fluid volume and get the internal old forces of their body back up into their thorax. And so every time we see somebody do that. They're doing Louis in a way that allows them to propel right and because of that. I think that's the strategy that we're seeing and the biggest problem with if this is not that they're utilizing it. It's when it I think becomes a situation where it's excessive right and because of that That can put stress on the knees. Right when I have a femur go one way and the Tibial go go the other then. I'm going to have the vow August moment that we always talk about it. I always refer back to Pat Davidson on this right if I have the femur going into internal orientation where it's internally rotated and I have a Tibia externally rotating on that Femur then that is a problem and if I have excessive needs coming in for a person who can't utilize a repulsive strategy eighty and can't exhale effectively to a send their pelvic floor without those knees literally knocking into each other. Then that's a problem and if if I have somebody who has knee pain or has A history of knee injuries. Then that can also be assigned nine where I need to intervene here right and so I think we need to look at is what is their history. What is their current situation? And to what degree are they utilizing that propulsed strategy excessively to ascend the pelvic floor to compensate for the fact that they can't effectively actively exhale. Because what should be able to do is utilize acceleration and utilize propulsion ascension of the pelvic pelvic floor to allow me to propel in these situations. But if I can't do that I may need on things like The doctors to try to open the pelvic outlet and so I think I'll give you a perfect example here. I have of a figure skater. Who has had a history of knee pain by ladder with lots of problems in and out of PT? We've Really really done a good job of over the time kind of getting her into a place where she can train regularly but she's training four to six times a week right and so Four to six times a day and so that's a lot of volume to overcome and she's jumping and landing on a blade and it's it's causing in problems in terms of repeated chronic knee pain over the years and basic. Things have helped her a lot right with tod manager. Center MASSINISSA plane. We've given her hamstrings. We've given her adopters avs we've given her more management her ribcage and the pressures and her internal forces but every once it's in a while it's still pops up right and so you know I'm looking at her when she does afford jump test and her Lee her knees will literally almost not together and her left. Knee will dive so far in that her whole axial skeleton is actually rotating to the right and with that Cheese able to use an incredible amounts of power right. She's her for jump is incredible. She's The I think the fastest highest female. I've ever actually looked at on a jump Matt but at certain point I had to say okay you outputs may be extremely high with this strategy. But we're in a situation where chronic discomfort and pain in.
