"The name of james ship happens to be the mvp of film and tv at sp projects. Scooter bronze media and entertainment company. As soon as james read janis book. He knew that it was an absolute jab. Jenny describes a phone call that she got from the scooter where he explains. James has never come to me for help because he doesn't necessarily need my help but he came to me on this one in east. Like i really want this book and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Where scooter and james brought johnny on as a client alongside their existing roster which includes everyone from ''ariana grande h. A justin bieber and even kanye west before we go into more of the juicy details. Let's start from the beginning of jenny story. I was born in nashville tennessee. And then we lived growing up in a couple. Different small towns and tennessee. My father was an orthopedic surgeon so we would. Sometimes i feel like we moved every or five years to like different local hospital in tennessee. When i think about where. I grew up. I really always think of where the last place that i lived in tennessee where i went to high school because we live there probably the longest. It's called paris tennessee. It's west tennessee. About two and a half hours from nashville or the nearest airport. I'd like to say and it's a small town of population. Eleven thousand people home of the world's biggest fish fry and we were the only asian family. Well that's not true. There was a couple who own the small chinese restaurant but they didn't have any children. So i was like the action teenager. They're basically was it. Just you and your brother or did you have other siblings as well. It's actually me. I have an older brother. And i did have an older sister who unfortunately pass away when i was in college. I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel like because we moved around like i think it really affected both my older brother and sister and they really didn't like it but for whatever reason because i was the youngest i just sort of went along with it and i think just sorta gave me the gregarious personality. Some probably pretty easy to make friends. Though i will say it's not like i have that many friends from my childhood because we did move around a lot and then you just don't keep in touch it. This was pre internet and facebook etc. So i do want wanna ask you about what it felt. Like to be one of the only asian american families so i was growing up in the eighties in tennessee. So honestly again. I think it really goes to my per sally. It didn't faze me that much. I mean i knew. I was very conscious. Obviously of being probably like other or the only each person. I mean the thing that really drove me as i felt that there was no privacy. Because everybody knew. I was dr lee's daughter. It was that sort of town basically so if i'm in walmart people would literally the checkout muslim wouldn't be like i'm buying tampons and she's like hey are you dr lee's daughter and i'm like yes i am and she's like. Oh well he's that my elbow or my cousins. And so i felt like kind of i had no privacy but the positive side of that is the fact that i never got a speeding ticket because honestly i also had like my brother. I inherited my brother's car when he went off to college and he had a blue honda. Prelude i had the only blue honda prelude in town so honestly like if i was going by they would hong-kun. I'm once talked to a cop there or share for something and he said so. You won't give me a speeding ticket. And he was like look. I'd hate till lake. Be shot up. Full of lead and dr li only takeout forty dollars. You've got a free pass almost like all right. yeah. I wish i had that growing up. How did you end up. Landing at ny tisch school of the arts. That's very interesting story sarah. I always wanted to be a writer. Like i think from when i was little i just remember being a huge reader and i always wanted to write but of course you know coming from a very somewhat typical korean family. My parents were very big on education. And we're very big on ivy league schools. My older sister had gone to brown. My older brother got into harvard. Which was actually a very good thing because now islamic you know by the time it was my turn i was like see. You already have a kid and harvard. You should let me just do whatever it is. I want to do because i was always definitely more the already sort of kid so i had one a couple of writing contest in high school like the young tennessee writers competition and then a scholastic they had a magazine the literary calva kane and so they had like a national magazine and so i think i played in that two years in a row and that was my prove to my parents and i was like hey i want to be a writer. This shows that. I can do it though. My father's reaction to that was i had one second place in whatever my division was and he was like see. You're only second best to be in a career in the arts. You need to be. I best so i don't you know he didn't take that as proof. Basically but because of that contest. Nyu tisch school of the arts. Sent me Wasn't like they recruited me. They sent me information about the school. And honestly i never even heard of nyu or tisch or an art school etc. Because i had only you know. I could probably recite the ivy league schools. By the time. I was dead and so i decided to secretly apply so i applied early to nyu tisch. And my mom knew. And i knew. I did not tell my father and then got in. When i got in early i was like this is where i'm gonna go and my father was like no you're going to go to u. penn and become a lawyer and i was like yeah. I don't think so so. I was like well then. I'm not going to go to college. Because i refuse to apply anywhere else and so we kind of had a stand off for the rest of my senior year and finally he was like okay. You can go. But i'm not gonna let you see the school. He's like we're not going to go to war if you think you can make this decision for yourself. Then that's fine. We'll destroy and they totally did not like they called my bluff. And i you know i called. There's i guess. And so then. I remember very distinctly them dropping me off like i mean at my dorm. I didn't even have the whole like thing that you see on. Tv where the parents come in. Deca help you decorate your freshman or they were like sia by an. I was like a little bit terrified. I have to say we had a week of orientation early just like the art school. And i found everyone to be a little bit like too much. Do you know what i mean. I think know. I was because i wanted to keep my artistic sort of thing like on the guess with my parents and i wasn't always sure i wanted to be a writer but it's not like i was always talking about wanting to be a writer or an artist and my parents certainly weren't supportive of that so when i arrived at nyu. I had a little bit of a tough time. Because i met so many like drama students and other writers that were just so confident about their artistic ambitions and i just wasn't like that so it was a little bit. I did have a couple of things whereas a couple moments where i was like. Oh my god did. I just make a huge mistake but i fell in love with new york city and it all worked out. You mentioned new york creatives being too much. I'm really surprised. Did you always have an idea of what you wanted to do when you got out of college. Yeah it's pretty much. I definitely knew. I just always had the writing bug. I was convinced. I wanted to write short stories. I wanted to write plays. I wanted to write novels Really by two favorite mediums were short stories and plays and i was like oh i picked the two things that really basically very hard to make a living on so that was like always my plan so right after college i ended up working in book publishing As an assistant. So that. I just wanted to be close to my chosen field so i did that for a year. And then i ended up after that working for literary agent who was actually michael chabanne's literary agent so i was just basically mississippi and my job was answering the phone and reading a huge slush pile so because back then which was the nineties the mid ninety s people when they wrote a.
Coachella is Canceled
"Six day coachella valley music and arts festival which draws around ninety nine thousand people per day to southern california. Each bring has been canceled again. It's country music cousin. Stagecoach has also been axed for twenty twenty one a riverside county health orders said both festivals were quote gatherings of an international scope unquote so too big a risk to take in a state that still battling some of the highest numbers of covid nineteen cases in the country. It's fair to say that the pandemic has not been kind to the live music industry last march. The two biggest concert promoters in north america live nation and aig presents suspended all of their tours saying in a joint statement that they hope to come back in april. Yes april twenty twenty. We all had high hopes back then right well. April came and went and justin bieber did not come to a city near you. Both live nation and eighty g were forced to make significant staff reductions and their executives took deep. Pay cuts and this. Latest cancellation is more bad news for ag presents. Because it's the parent company of voice which put on the coachella and stagecoach festivals together. The festivals were projected to generate more than seven hundred million dollars in overall economic activity in two thousand nineteen over one hundred million of that was expected to be injected back into the economy of indio california where the festivals are held and on top of that. Nine thousand concert goers were expected to stay in nearby airbnb so that number had doubled from twenty seventeen so the coachella cancellation is a loss for g loss for indios economy. How Goalcast Creates Viral Videos With Salim Sader And Cyrus Gorjipour
"For. You guys started this business. Goal casts really really recently. And you've got an so good so fast that justin bieber's agent scooter braun braun. Lebron's the guy who's responsible for some of the most viral music videos in the world. He's the man who basically created justin bieber and he said these guys are some of the best and most masterful storyteller he's ever met. There's a funny story. There actually go ahead and scooter wants me to share this. But when we were filming his video for goal cast we were telling him no. Do this or say that story again or focus on this and at one point he just turned us. Zych like guys. Do you know. I make the most viral videos on the internet. And we're like. Yeah but you've never made a goal cast video. This is different and he just looked at us and he was really pissed. And he's like guys. I brought justin bieber look up videos like it has two billion views on youtube. Stand down and all that and then we just to our guns. were like. Listen if you wanna make a goal video we know what works with our audience. We know what works on facebook. Like you have to tell the story your way. And then what happened is that she then went along with it and video when we released it to him before we posted it. He called me up and he's like guys really. This is amazing. I've never tried to my own video. And i was crying watching video psych. Good thing you guys in listen to me and most people usually listen to me and you guys just stuck to your guns just reminded me of the amazing. That's really proud of you guys. How long ago did you start bowl. Cast for three years ago. Three years ago awesome and so three years. That's how you can get in three years. How many fans you have right now. More than thirty million across all social networks in three years three years. Yeah that's incredible. Please give them around of applause. Sa- break it down for us. And i want you to break it down for a step-by-step in a rap with a frenchaccent norm kid. What's going on what was going on in that rock. Thomas video works so well. How did that get eighty million views. I would start by saying that what we try to establish his four thinks it's credibility authenticity right sympathy and then relayed ability. I see you guys writing down some credibility that authenticity sympathy and reliability and ability. Yeah awesome rhyme. Oh yeah. I didn't even know so he can do it in a wrap. Your those things usually a lot of speakers. All storytellers usually focus on the credibility. Part if you notice and what we try to do is actually focus on the three others because people a lot of people already have the credibility part really down and one really good trick one. Good way to have all three at once is to be vulnerable so think about it. You know you have authenticity. if you're vulnerable. Authenticity is basically being yourself shawn stevenson. Just talked about that right like if you share. Something vulnerable yourself. You're instantly yourself right. Sympathy sympathy. Is people feeling what you're feeling right. People have to feel in your shoes and when you say something like as an example i went to talk to that girl and she broke my heart bright. If i share it with someone than instantly you feel those three things. And then you can relate also the third part relating. Is you going back to a story in your life that relates to what i just shared with you and that instantly makes us feel connected. And that's what we try to do with our videos. That's brilliantly said. Could you state those three things again for people who are taking no yes. Authenticity sympathy and reliability authenticity sympathy and relate ability. Could you go more into sympathy and reliability. Yeah sympathy and reliability to us. We try to do with both at the same time. Sympathy to us is a lot about the feeling. It's a lot about feeling the same emotion as a speaker or somebody in movies. They do that too right. You feeling the same emotion as a person going through it. If you notice alexei the rock thomas video. We do that in subtle ways as well. There's a part where his father screams at him. And then you see the kid starting to cry that is sympathy because when we show an image of a kid crying. You'd bloody feel you didn't need to have the same experience to feel that because we show an image of a kid crying you can feel it so related to the other side really ability. Is you thinking about a time which your own father. Maybe where you felt the same way. So that's how would differentiate it.

I also think that is good that he has a little bit of background in the industry. You know he used to be a dancer. Maybe she just needs somebody who's Focus on business and has more of Ah, non this calming effect. Yes, yeah. You know, when I first heard saw the ring and you know just the were swirling talking about all of this. I actually I feel really happy for her on Lee in that I think she's learned to keep her relationships kind of, you know, down low or quiet. You know that This is actually a serious relationship before you know, it's all been public. And yes, you might have songs that come out about him later, but For us to be kind of surprising. Whoa! She's got a ring. Yeah, She kissed him in everything. But yeah, that just felt like All of a sudden a date or something. Thus she just started dating him, right? We've only seen him a couple of times exactly that shocking, but they have dated for a while. And maybe right now, I mean, with quarantined here, they've been quarantining together. And i think it's just the system that you know will be a the future of sort of like you know collecting artwork sieve. Tell us more of the details about that sale. What did you offer. Included a physical token you know a digital screen that was very closely tied to the like blockchain. Though it wasn't sort of like you know cries that could be separated easily from the nfl at something. That's very sort of meant to be looked at as one piece And so i. I made you know people ask collect dot com which sort of like houses the collection and then You know there was an open edition For those on sale for just five minutes and then you know which also includes physical token twenty one auction throat. The weekend Sold single edition You know sort of pieces to the highest bidder and so that was sort of like the components of the draft. So you know all weekend. We sold six hundred thousand dollars worth of the open edition five minutes and then you know the everyday's themselves the auction we're going over one hundred thousand dollars on average at last piece went for seven hundred seventy seven thousand dollars so i think it just shows that there's like a huge appetite for you know a tightly sort of connected digital and physical sort of like

"He can trust a no I ain't leaving you like I know he ain't leaving us. I, know we believe in God and I know God believes in us because the way you hold me, hold me hold me hold me bill. So Holy Holy holy running like a track start to the altar can't wait another second. At repeats its way all the way out. All right so I think we get the basic idea here. What what chance the rapper kind brings in A. Almost kind of in some ways going to direction with God there, and you could I don't know how clever some of those wraps some of those lines, some of those the part of the verse there for chance the rapper I? Don't know I mean you know I'm not looking for anything. I'm not looking for anything. Major. Go up here where it starts the first, the first step pleases the father. The. First pleases the father. Okay. Is this is this in reference to God God being the father is a reference to I. Guess when you take that first step towards the altar, you please the father of the girl. Okay. Maybe might be the hardest to take. But when you come out of the water, I'm a believer, my heart is flesh fleshy a life is short with a temper like Joe Pesky they always come and sing your praises your name is catchy but I don't see you how I see you. Now I think it's like is that towards God or is it about the girl? is chance the rapper going in a different direction? Parlay and Desi Cross Twain Twain. Hessy hit the jet speed win when they get messy go lefty like Lionel Messi. Let's take a trip and get the vest buzz around a jet ski and other spots that got the best we'd we go in next week I don't know okay. Here's the thing. Here's the thing sometimes when there's a kind of a a rapper comes along and does a verse. In kind of a pop song, you not looking for anything who that's an amazing rap line. I mean you know it's all. It adds to the song. I will say it does it adds to this. The song is catchy the song. I think is nice. I think. I think it's good. You know. Yeah. We could sit here and be I could be a little critical I mean chance the rapper could be a little critical about the lines and go. Could he given us something a little with more substance could he'd done something maybe a little bit more clever I don't find it really that clever. Here's kind of I guess maybe here's my disappointment. Here's kind of discipline I was always afraid that this is what was going to happen. The Florida Georgia line did the same thing with holy an attorney about a girl about a relationship I. Obviously chance the rapper and obviously Justin Bieber has a connection to Christianity I mean there's no way to get..

"Point and I think when you on a personal level it makes them WanNa Produce and perform on the ice and makes them happy and I think that's a super important thing right now. With the youth of today the late mark reads was your coach there in Owen sound. Nhl Fans will remember him as a former assistant coach with the Ottawa. Senators was he liked that with you. Guys Yeah Yeah. My my dad used to say to me. Sounds like your dad away from home. Any he really was he. He was such a an inspirational guy again. Similar to Dale's so passionate about the game but but treated you like a human. He didn't treat you like a you know a piece of meat and and Yell and scream at you all the time. If he wanted to get his point across he'd bring you in a conversation with you and I learned at times from him. I think he was definitely the best coach I've ever had. It Sounds Joey that your dad's a little jealous. Yeah Yeah you know you might have been he My Dad was probably the biggest influence in my hockey career. So if I was talking so positive about someone else he might have not taken that too lightly now you you come from Stratford Ontario Rich Hockey history there the William Allman arena where we add hockey Dane Canada A number of years ago rivaled only by Galt arena Were Gordie Howe. Once played when he played briefly in the miners as the longest continuous running hockey rink. In all of Canada we think of the Stratford streak. Howie Morenz and we'll think players like pronger and old chuck and Blake playing with the fans. What was Stratford hockey leg to a young Joey Hitchin? It was incredible Such fun hockey city to grow up in every Friday night was We were all down to William allman memorial arena to watch the STRAFFORD cullens play When I was growing up they were always such a good team They won three Sutherland. Cups while I was a kid which I was able to enjoy firsthand the one year. I was pretty much not officially but I was pretty much stick boy. I was there at all the practices helping them out as much as I possibly could. So such a historic or organization now called the Strap Warriors. But Yeah I mean incredible hockey city in in the winter and Strauss wrote Friday nights the allman arena. Where everyone's hanging out. Now you have and I didn't know this until Jeff explained it but the Bieber Tien. How does that start? And where does it stand now? Yes Oh Justin is obviously from Strafford as well so we always grew up. I'm a little bit older than him. So we weren't Super close growing up but as things progressed in and he became famous is kind of a funny story I was in. I was in Finland Plan for Yogurt and Kate. Shell and he was doing a concert there. and wanted to Skate so actually his dad got in contact with me and I. I set him up to skate with the yard curry. I actually didn't see him. We were on the road in Russia and He had a good skate with Jerry Curry. And then we kind of lost touch and I got a random phone call this year after all the Benton stuff came up and Yeah I was. I was put in touch with them. he asked me to come to. La NEW YORK CITY IN LA WE'LL LA MULTIPLE TIMES. And and just trying to make them better at hockey right now. He's super passionate about the game. So it's been fun. Did he not rent out Central Park? So you guys could practice. Yeah Yeah so. That was a crazy story we were. We were in New York The plan was escape at the New Jersey devils practice rankin and then I got a phone call. We're on the ice at eight and I got a phone call at six. Say and there's a car outside. You guys are going to be skating at central park tonight. Keep it quiet so I I went downstairs. Got In the car next thing you know. We had Central Park pretty much to ourselves. So who's incredible? So you've got Jordan Bennington who you know and you've got Justin Bieber who you know. Where's your loyalty here? You know what? It's a tough question but Benner didn't call me for any lessons so if dinner for lessons probably on his side but Justin called me for the lessons so you know what I gotTa. I gotta go with my hometown. Boy Is this going to happen because Bennington sure made it sound like it was going to happen. Yeah well I know both sides want to make it happen so whether it does or doesn't I think obviously we're in pretty strenuous crazy times right now when this stuff ends. I know both of them want it to happen and when you talk about guys like Jordan and Justin Bieber. They can pretty much make anything happen. Anything they want to happen they can make it happen so I can't see it not happening. There was a wild rumor going around that Justin Bieber and his father had some interest in buying the Ottawa senators. Have you heard anything like this? No no I definitely. Haven't it'd be a little bit shocking to me. I know he's a huge fan. I know he's really good friends with Austin Matthews. So I can't see it but you never know I I wouldn't I wouldn't well. I guess I would bet against it but You definitely never know can just pull some money off the tree in the backyard and buy a hockey team. And what's the holdup? How good is he? How good a player is he. Yeah so I mean that's a question I get asked all the time by absolutely everybody and he's actually not bad. He's got really good hands so when I say really good hands. I mean obviously doesn't stick. Hannah like Patrick Kane but He can pull things off that. You're like wow didn't expect that His shot is getting better. We're working on his shot and his skating. Stride is Just okay but honestly in a shootout. The only thing that really matters is your hands. And he's got pretty good hands so you never know obviously for him to get where he is in the music industry in the entertainment world. The Guy's got Dr. Yes and I think if you're driven at something to be that successful if you want to try to be good at something else. Maybe you're not going to be elite but you could still be pretty good at it. He's not a guy. I'm betting against put it that way. Yeah absolutely he's extremely dedicated and super super passionate about hockey like when I say super passionate like he's obsessed with it. It's all he wants to do right now and I feel like when he gets something in his head and wants to get good at it he's GonNa put a ton of time and effort into it then obviously like you said with his music career at such a young age he was so into it and just became so good at it through repetition and with hockey. I know I know he's putting in a lot of work right now so I'm excited for him. It's fun to watch so Bennington knows your team Bieber then What are your text exchanges? Like these days you know they can get a little heated It's pretty funny. It's pretty funny spot for us both to be in when it when it first started happening We were losing laughing. Going back and forth but Yeah now it's been It's been a pretty fun exchange and I'm really happy It worked out the way it has. Is he aware that you were like the source of all adjusts stories about him like he gets that right? Oh Yeah Oh yeah. I was nervous coming on here today. I don't know what he would have told you guys about me. No nothing clean as a whistle. Perfect d ever sort of. Catch Yourself Joey and say hold on a second. How did I end up here here? I am teaching. You know one of the heavyweights in the music. Industry had ADO backhanded. Toe Drags to score on my old junior goaltender does part of it just Kinda seems. Surreal for you. Yeah Yeah it does jeff absolutely Obviously my career was cut. Short and Obviously it was unfortunate. But I'm in a position our helping kids and and helping people get better at something they're passionate about. I'm passionate about that so I'm in a situation where I'm I feel very fortunate and I'd never take it for granted. Obviously it would have been nice to have a long. Nhl Career but that wasn't in the cards for me. And I I am where I am and I'm I'm very happy to be where I am. I did want to talk a little bit about that. You know my son who's now eight. He had his first concussion a couple years ago when he was. I think he was five or six. I can't remember exact year and I remember the you know. Obviously you're very worried because you know we know what concussions can do what they are and the doctor said you know to us be smart and it doesn't mean the end of the world but you have to be smart and they say that they see a lot of parents now who read about concussions and they think it's the end for their child but it doesn't have to be if you're smart so what I wanted to ask. You is going to be a lot of parents who listen to this and their kids are GonNa go through it. What advice would you give parents on how to navigate through that world? Yeah I think that's an incredible question Elliott and that's something I'm I'm extremely passionate about I'M GONNA actually. This might not be the answer you were you were looking for or expecting. But I'm going to relate it to. I'm really good friends with Ryan O'Reilly and last summer I was able to attend escaped with Adam oates and the things that Adam oates talked about for avoiding impacts that you don't need to be taking in absorbing impact when you're putting different situations. It opened my eyes so much as a skills coach. Because I feel right now. There's so much bad information out there. About what a skills coach should be teaching. What your kids should be learning I think that's why parents need to be extremely selective when they're trying to to find someone to help their kid get to the next level with that said Hits happen play an extremely fast game and you can't put yourself in bad situations and when I say put yourself in bad situations I've talking about Obviously your your entire life. You've you've identified yourself as a hockey player and that's all you've ever done and when you get a bad concussion that's completely taken away from you and you really have to be patient and trust the process that you're gonNA get healthy. You're going to get better and not put yourself in a bad situation comeback too soon and put yourself at risk of that that second impact in a short amount of time joy. I wonder if you seen a difference. You know I'm older than you. I grew up in an age where you didn't tell anyone you were hurt. But you grew in the similar age to there was no no no you play through it and I still think a lot of life is like that but do you see a difference in saying okay. There's there's a line we can't cross here even if we WANNA play hurt. Yeah absolutely. I think there's so much more knowledge and information Nowadays that kids realize it's not smart to go back and play and they kinda house more information on the long term effects of if you do so times have definitely changed when I played Take a Wack you get your Bell Rung and wanted to get back there and play as soon as you possibly could whether that meant you felt okay or not and now I think kids are more aware of the risks and I think they make way better decisions than we used to. How many times if at all. I don't know maybe it's painful. I'm not sure I'm not. I'm not you joey. Obviously how many times you've gone back to watch the mcnabb hit and have you ever thought to yourself. Maybe i should have done this better. Maybe i could have done this differently. Maybe all of this could have been different Yeah absolutely I think. That's something that that has obviously crossed my mind a ton and I mentioned earlier. That connection with Adam oates and through meeting him and through spending time with Rydell Riley and keeping in touch without him after we skated together. I've had the opportunity to send him that clip and kind of pick his brain about it and the way he sees the game and the way that you know it is possible to avoid impact. I think it definitely could have been different for me even to the point where. I truly believe that If I would've had some of that knowledge at the time I might still be playing today. There was a game between your avs in Los Angeles. Kings was the first time that you guys had met on the ice Since the the Memorial Cup incident with the with the hits were you at a point at that point in your life where that was just another game or was there still something there for Joey. Haitian you're referring to playing against Brayden. Mcnabb yeah you know what I think? It would be alive for me to say that. I didn't hold a grudge against him for a long time but I look at him and the career. He's had a hockey player and he absolutely hammered guys. He has unbelievable timing. And it's something that he's extremely good at and obviously he's. He's very good at a lot of other things to do with hockey He moves the puck very well. He moves very well for his size and he hammers guys so for me to go out against the La Kings First game back since the Memorial Cup and try and do something to a guy. That's you know six foot three or six foot four and two hundred and twenty pounds. I think it would have been absolutely ridiculous to put myself in that position at five. Ten One hundred seventy pounds. I had to try and make it about hockey And put that on the back burner and now looking back. I don't hold a grudge against Brayden mcnabb whatsoever. I think he's like I said he's an incredible hockey player and he's had A. He's had a phenomenal career in any deserves it. How do you talk to parents about their kids? And I'm asking. This is a hockey para myself. Maybe I'm just asking advice for my own kids But how do you talk to Parents about contact in minor hockey. It's a tough one and I think as a younger kid and I was the same way playing contact hockey. All I wanted to do was hit guys for the first few years and and I think that's I think that's something of a lot of kids experience in..

"Good Morning Good Night Boston. The kiddies there won't be they knew Stanley Cup champion not capitals are still dancing when Tim. Thomas walked away from hockey. Glenn Healy said to me now. That goal makes sense and I said what are you talking about? And he says if you watch that goal ward scores and there's contact and he said he's not blaming ward for it like it's a battle in the playoffs and if the bully gets bombed the golden gets bumped and of course heels was a goalie he said Tim. Thomas didn't even argue the call. He just skated right off the ice he said when when Thomas walked away he went back to that highlight and said. I always wondered why Tim. Thomas never threw a fit now. I know he was done. That's a great story. It's the only good story Glenn Healy's ever told here's a good story speaking of stories if you're a wrestling fan you know all about the dark side of the ring series That's airing right now and has been some fantastic work. Whether it's the Chris Benoit's story the New Jack Story that Jimmy Snuka story and last week they ran the Dino Bravo story. Elliott's was a you know Quebecois wrestler wwf you know met his demise in very questionable ways and one of the stories in the Peace Talks Abo- Bravo beating up a former member of the Quebec nordiques at a bar. And it's sort of turned into this mission for everybody to try to figure out who that person was as we all know. Dino Bravo was a huge Montreal Canadian's Fan Would go to the Games all the time. Pamela prayed who's a journalist in Quebec whose does outstanding work has a new book by the way out Andre the giant which looks fantastic. And if you know PAT's work. It is thorough. This book should be fantastic. Actually the draft when Julianne Goce was selected since. His family had a bodybuilding and pro wrestling background. A lot of the information that I use when goce was selected. I got from PAT like this guy. This guy's game is tight. This guy really knows his stuff and he was able to track down with. The Quebec nordiques player was and it turns out it was Serge. Bernier who we all know after his career was over was involved in a very Highly publicized cocaine trafficking Arrest so that was the player in question. Pat found that out so I was also trying to figure out who that player was and in my conversations it turns out that there is even more of a back story to this one involving the Quebec nordiques now. Dino Bravo was Montreal Canadian's fan of pro wrestler. You know what always give it to Quebec nordiques players? You know. Lean over the glass scream at them a yell at all the guys and one night. Simonneau lay former NHL and then Assistant Coach with Quebec. Nordiques took a hockey stick and smash over Dino Bravo hit him with his stick from the bench to the stands to further incite Dino Bravo so that is a a little known piece this story of the late Dino Bravo's hatred towards the Quebec Nordiques as a fan of the Montreal Canadians coming up on the podcast. Today you will hear from a couple of DEFENSEMAN JAKE MUHSIN OF THE TORONTO. Maple leafs John Michael Lyles as well now ex. Nhl defensemen and also ex NHL. Now the assistant coach and assistant gm of the Owen sound attack of the Oh l. And someone who is responsible for training Justin Bieber in his impending showdown with Jordan.

"I know in my experience when I struggled last year. I knew I looked at you as an inspiration. Because you've been through this and you've come out of the other side and I really just admire the man that you are today and you know I find Daniel to be a little more guarded around you because you're not the first one to say that and then when you leave. He tastes totally. Lets his guard down around me nervous around me. There's a celebrity and I'm just like nobody. Nobody Teddy Bear. You know true. Know what else we want to talk about it that meaning somewhere that I should know about. This is still going on chair luck there. Now Buddy. You're there till the end now now. Look I'm aware so. Our next topic is is is usher. Yes or as I like to. Call Them Usher Hersher Shush and there are two things that I sure did when he was here that I thought were standouts. One was he played a surprise. Game of spill. The T. specialties. That game were five people stand behind a podium and there are five sort of captions about those people are all fairly sexy and surprising. And we have an ellen has to match the fact about the person and we usually play with civilians including a woman named Carol but we had to surprise guests in this edition of spilled the tea we had. Carol we also had Justin Bieber and usher. Now you can't see you should really watch us on your dvr. But we're going to play it for you because I think l. and also reads them so we're going to play a clip from it and we'll know when the numbers come in next week. How many of you tuned out during the Clinton we'll take listen all right. I'm going to reveal five secrets that we found out about you and then I'm going to try to map to secret with the person if I can match all five. I will win a fantastic price. I'm not sure what you will win but I it's really about what I went. The first secret on the board. Is I watch every hallmark movie. I kissed.

"That was quoted in this whether sign of boredom or resentment or both Mr Bieber's hundred mile stare was the steadiest feature of his performance. That's you did I say. Yeah jousting me. That's okay that's good. This means is actually Loki is good peace. I want peace. I was like really. I very rarely at that. Stage was twenty six sixteen twenty s summer. Tiny six I very rarely at that phase. Because I'd been at the paper like it's probably seven or eight years at that. Point said seen a lot of shows very hard like emotionally jolt me at a concert and I was just like I felt like all my nerve endings were alive. Show F- Feeling PD and empathy and anxiety and stress about Justin BIEBER's friendly. I think that had to be your takeaway unless you were in the eleven or twelve years. Maybe we're just like HYP- to see him but I think I wrote later on in that piece to that it like made me have this whole existential questions. Such as what do you mean of like? Why do we even need all the popstars to tour? Some of them are not suited to that. He does not seem happy in this role. Why is he spending most of his life on the road in this joyless way like this can end? Well he I do remember to like. I had never seen a big pop show where he wasn't even pretending to lip sync like. Oh yeah we like fifty percent of the time just the Mike that he was holding was just like down his waist and not even playing with the charade which kind of respected I was like you know sort of okay so like to potential analogs to this one. I reviewed a Bollywood tour very early in my time with the paper and I didn't immediately understand that a lot of what was happening was lifting and it was very expert level rate. It was not like bieber struggling but I remember thinking like it doesn't matter that it's limiting because the present like the thing is the presentation and like even if no one was lip synching but the music was coming in exactly as this would be a completely enjoyable outlandish great performance. That's one thing. The other thing is Rena who also certainly in the middle period of her career when she was like just getting to arenas and whatnot did not have a strong relationship to live sank and kind of like with dip in and out of it and also dip in and out of whether she cared lip sing but I remember at the time being like wow honest so she so bad like good bad not bad bad. That was like she don't even care. We're at Madison Square Garden. Broadway's at giants stadium wherever it? She's like Justin Bieber can't pull that off now. So three hundred has a president. Yeah she was like he just looked. It was weird weird so very sad and I think to your point. Why do these people a tour now? Obviously he has to make money and CETERA. But it's weird in the Docu series to see the woman who works for is drink and be like his favorite thing is to perform in. What year was that true like? Maybe IN THE YEAR. Two thousand nine primarily. Yeah when it was still novel for him and when you know but I think his favorite thing is being in the studio. I think you really get. His favorite thing is well vibrating. Yeah second favorite checks yes. Runs around binding we? That's I can relate anyway. Changes has arrived and I feel like it's very good because I feel like it. Does this double trick of more or less? Being the Music Justin bieber would like to make slash is best at making while also as you brought up before not being extremely poppy. Like it's a pop record popular record by dinovite Justin Bieber put it out. But they're not. They're not competitive records in the sort of American music marketplace especially as it exists right. Now we're basically it's either billy eyelash or roddy rich You know like it's just in kind of doing these like low key mid Tempo BOPs. It's Nice it's super. Serves the Justin Bieber audience? But it doesn't like Yummy as Karen. Likes to point out. Yummy is not a smash now. We didn't even listen to Yummy. No Oh my God now. You have to listen to you okay. Well Listen Yummy but you can put the version that has summer walk. I was GONNA request that. We'll do this summer walker versa. Like the part like a minute and a half. In where like gives way from Justin to summer we can do that. Part JUST TO MAKE EVERYBODY INTO SUMMER. Movie would watch.

"Talking about changes talking about Justin Bieber's preferred fashion silhouette. We're talking about is Youtube confessionals. We're going to talk a little bit. Harry Styles Liberty Selena Gomez and. We're talk about it all with winds all adds Lindsey. You came through in the well loved old J. B. merged talked to me about what you're wearing today. I am wearing the purpose tour t with Justin's face on it and then thank you thank you. That's you just for future podcasts. Guests just know. This is going to be fit. Check your account for what you wear to pop out. It's president that's true and it's great shirt because on the back it just says. Sorry if yeah if you're offended as I walk away I'm sorry but also on top of that. He is sorry. This is a recurring. This is an early. I wore the shirt a couple years ago. Getting lunch with a friend and you can see like it is larger justin spaces larger than like a human's face. Yes on the shore and halfway through my friend drew was like can you put on? I can't have a consultation with you. It's a little like Abidine Style But I don't know if the proportions of everybody's eyes seem bigger than they normally are maybe or down slightly funhouse mirror. It's the sadness and the atonement he has are that which again is very on brand for Justin Bieber twenty twenty so we're going to get into changes one of quasi programming note. I do want to say at the beginning of the first mailbag episode. We put out a request if anybody wanted to start a facebook fan group Which I know you know maybe seemed a little bit of a hail. Mary a little bit of a random request. And you know what someone did it. So shouts the Sam Sam. Who put together? The facebook group about three hundred fifty people have already joined. We haven't even said anything on podcast yet. This is the first time we're mentioning. It on podcast. All just off a tweet. That's right you know. I got rich off of mix tapes so this is the album version of the information which is say that there is a podcast fan. Facebook group get involved. I'm in there talking to people getting dragged answering questions. It's a lot of fun get involved. Certainly there is some talk about Bieber on there so hopefully we can fuel that a little bit but this week I wanNA say Karen is not in the office today. It's not. It's a holiday technically in the office. I feel totally safe to say this. I very much like the Justin Bieber record and the more I listen to it. The more it makes sense. It's kind of like a holistic whole to me and I find myself soothed by it. I kind of believe in the intellectual and aesthetic project you believe I do a by been believing H. What's your energy on this record? I like I agree with a lot of what you said in your review. It feels more cohesive than purpose but it also doesn't feel like he's having to play by like the big pop album rules which is going to be to the detriment of some of those like. I don't think any of these songs are going to be radio. Hits the you kind of I was listening to purpose again today and you? It's that back to back back of where. Now what do you mean? Sorry Love Yourself. Which is yes great but just like that. There's no stretch on this album where you're just like. I'm GonNa hear all of these songs on the radio or any one of like it's more. It's just a vibe and if I'm remembering the rollout of purpose correctly the sort of like EDM ish singles predated them and at least predated the album. I should say and if I'm not wrong like at least one of them was technically like a Jack like Jack. You saw like a Justin Bieber got re purposed as Justin Bieber Song. Yeah Jackie do record or to scare lex in Diplo. Where are you now? That was the? There's so many questions songs is. What do you mean a lot enjoy? He had a lot of questions in two thousand fifteen right and so that ends up looking on the purpose deluxe that ends up as track eleven on purpose but I remember thinking that Bieber was in this kind of limited allstate before. Actually listen to worry now. Beat these these kids over the head with this so you know a pop music. Sound like in two thousand fourteen.

"Yeah we thought so. We're GONNA get into the whole album. We're GONNA listen to the whole thing straight through. Maybe not every song maybe just a little bit guilty just just a little bit of every song because he gives us a lot of socks. Yeah he and I don't want to give my full judgement until we get through it and then we'll say our thoughts as we go on. Okay I don't WanNa say anything yet. I WANNA make anybody. I will say that I did. I did see the story of the woman following you. Because I didn't realize I was also tagged it. Like she's tagged the office and you and me and that I saw that but she's like and I was shocked because I clicked on her and you know mother has a like. She's really dedicated really dedicated to Justin Bieber. Yes she G- wow okay follow bieber opinion. Yeah and okay. I'll say what I said and then we'll get into album here I am. I wanted to wait but I'll say it so I tweeted out. I really wanted to love Justin Bieber's album I did and then I didn't WanNa tell the podcast or a radio listeners. This one I thought you know if you follow me on twitter you'll see it but I'll read it out loud I wrote. I mean this is what got anybody to start on following. You know this. This is what got a lot of people to follow me. I'll explain yeah well lose some. Yes Yeah Yeah I had to put on the fine line Harry styles album album to get the bad taste of Justin Bieber's changes out of my mouth. That's what I tweeted. That's what I felt in the moment. I understand that that's over the line but it's twitter. You try to funny or dramatic as possible or at least I do on twitter. I feel like that's how people react to things. I was just like yeah. Changes IS OKAY. And Yeah People. Nobody would like that like my would be like changes is okay. Everyone would be like. Yeah Yeah exactly and I literally did put on. Yeah the Harry styles album right after. I listened to changes because I do love. That album did not love Justin album and I was like. I need something to make me happier right now. Good really good music that I really like so yes. Some people Weren't happy with that. But I do see some people agreeing with us and you know I only listen to it one time and it was just my first day and I'm not saying he sounds bad. Says he has a wonderful voice and it's a very different vibe for him. That was which was you know we did expect it. Obviously we knew this was going to be more of an album but with seventeen songs or however many it is we kinda thought that there would be more of a mixture per se and they were all very similar in sound and feel which is fine because I it sucks because like the bieber super fans will love whatever he does. That's that's just that's just how it goes so if you don't necessarily like it then you are not like people like you're not a real fan but that's not true like I really love Justin Bieber. I've always loved to be. I will support him. I mean I have. I have a changes smerch sweatshirt coming that I spent eighty dollars on. We're going to only word or like. Raf tickets ticket guy. We are supporting him in every way. And I'm excited. I'm excited to go to the tarmac. Save for him to be back. Touring this album. Just wasn't necessarily magnano. Album Sucks Heiberg. I Yeah I'm just. I'm playing yes it's it's I only I wouldn't i. Would say sucks is going too far. I would say that it's okay and I personally will never go back and listen to the songs again. Besides right now and we're about to do it but on my free time. I'M NOT GONNA SAY OH. I want to put on that song from changes because right I usually have you know an instinct of what songs I like. I remember you know I wasn't I keep talking about ourselves but I wasn't a Utara Styles Fan. I was actually a big fan of Justin Bieber and I love that album. Same thing with Taylor swift wasn't really you know I didn't even listen to reputation. Lead Nineteen eighty-nine and I listened to love. I really loved lover. I wanted to really love. Justin Bieber's album because I am a big fan of Justin Bieber. But I can't sit here and lie about my opinions. I feel like it would be boring and I'd be lying if I sat here and was like yeah. I love this music because I really don't look. He made an rb album personally. I'm don't listen to a lot of or be like that's not like a genre that I listened to a lot so it fits into that where it's like okay. This is a different sound for him. So that we're not used to It's not bad it's just like I don't it's not my it's not my taste but like we said seventeen songs. I would say like the first half as has a very similar sound in the second half has a very similar sound so you know and also he. I'm very happy for him because he is clearly in a good place. It seems like his music. He's in love. The whole album seems just like one long love letter to Haley which is great for him and the two of them and changes and he's making these changes in his life and he hopes he lives up and so I think it's really great that like over the last four years of all the drama and everything that has gone through. This is the kind of album that he's made. That is happy and in love whatever but like there are times. I Want Justin Bieber songs. I want to get up and sing at the top of my lungs and dance and everything and there wasn't really a song that did that. No no sorry what do you mean? There was nothing of that sort. But now that everyone's excited to listen to it right right after we. I was like Whoa wait to give our pinions and then I just it's it's so hard but it's hard because there's not really a lot to say about each individual song because it's true like he really is in love with. Haley like every song is really for her which I'm happy about. Listen I have been a huge Haley Baldwin Fan for years. Yeah I never thought I'd see the day that Justin bieber would be married to her. Just wow I'm so happy for them as a couple of the documentary is fantastic. The wedding documentary part of it. I sobbed it was not normal. How much I cried watching their wedding documentary was I'm doing right now so I'm really happy for them but there was no bops. There was nothing that I wanna like. I listen to this and dance with different sound for him that I think through a lot of people off because it wasn't what we're used to right so let's listen to. Let's.

It's it's weird because it's like we said Friday. I feel like we haven't had obviously has been on a Friday and in a while. So it's like part part of weekend and it's part of a long weekend so. I hope everybody has a great had a great day. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Yeah I'm excited because I will have seen it already but I'm going to see mean girls. Hank got tickets for meagre very excited. Fran has been telling me I need to see a great show longtime now some people in the office as well. we're also going to be in. La Yet totally ran for two days. We leave on Monday right. Yeah Yeah Yeah. Our flight is on Monday and we come back on Wednesday so drive real real quick if like event on Tuesday if there's any places in La that you're like you guys must eat there because we've never really asked this question. Even the last time we went. Send some options. We're planning on going to Tom. Anything about restaurants except for Lisa Vander Pumps restaurant which is good. We went one time. Yeah I really enjoyed it so I would be happy to go back. Yes so that's all do because like you said we don't know much about la yards. Lisa Vander Pumps restaurant. Yeah I have a quick update for you and for everybody that listen to us last podcast talk about the airplane reclining seats situation. Look at this. Find The tweet so D- Delta CEO talked about this problem or whatever happened. You know it was American Airlines. What what Their line were the video is from but the Delta Co was on CNBC and talked about it and now he said that it is proper etiquette to turn around and ask the person behind you if they can recline their seat. Yes so I saw this and we talked about this last podcast right and people were not happy with US friend. I'll let you know I had some people tweeting. Deming me. Yeah I don't know if you get it as much as me as me but when I say something the podcast that people don't agree with like people are really mean to me. They're like you're so stupid rea- like were they really go in on it so then also. I look at that stuff yet. But it's hard not to look at it when it's being sent directly to you. You know what I mean. Yeah I don't look at all my a lot of the times and also I have my filters on twitter so when people say if when people tweet like hey friend you big dumb idiot like those are. I don't get those notifications as it's filtered out through. I made you turn that on so sometimes I'm afraid to give my own opinion on the podcast. Because I'm like Oh if I say the wrong thing people are really going to come after me but you know what I'm just feel like I just don't care about saying that People Jarad Klein and you know what I also that too. I just don't see it so I just go on living my life right. Why why see it and I'm just not gonNA care anymore because I can't sit here and to have opinions that I don't have you know what I mean like. Yeah I can't sit here and be like no. I think you should have to ask the person by 'cause I don't why do they make the seat recline right? Don't make the seat recline or add extra room on the airplane right if there's a NFL get it. Depends on the person Norm Ryan being you recline that seat the CEO said you know if a passer it knows that a tall person is sitting behind them then they should ask permission. I'm fine with that. I mean if you got like six five human beings sitting behind you and they're already really struggling to fit in their seat. I got that certain certain circumstances right but for every instance that would be insane definitely. I just don't understand why they would have the reclining future if you had to ask. Yeah well airplanes they. We weren't like The seats were able to recline but then they really smushed more seats onto planes. You know like there used to be more space and it wasn't a problem but then now like planes just have they add extra rose two planes and lessons your lessons. Ura Leg legroom. Yeah I feel like anybody who's going on a flight this weekend. Things are like things are lot more tents everybody's recline everybody's talking about the reclined. I mean like I said we're flying. La On Monday. I'm reclining my seat for those. Yeah I mean. Tell as long fight. I wonder what I wonder. What the are seating arrangement is because I'm sure we're close but no I mean on a six hour flight I feel like it makes sense and then there's people were like well if you want more legroom pay like pay for it well first class we're fine delta and where it's just you know regular old Delta Delta one or whatever it is first class it's six times more money like it's like it was like three thousand dollars each who don we. We can't do that now. You don't need that much you don't need it that badly to be paying that price. It was an insane amount of money like when I saw the prices. I was like that is fucking insane. So that's what happens tickets already too expensive so you can't complain about Lagos. That's you paid for it but ticket fights are expensive. Exactly see what everyone. Just be careful on airplanes These days let's just be aware of your surroundings behind. You doesn't want to be reclined on maybe think twice before your reclining but if they just look a regular person the on this flight you recline okay. Yeah just do your thing. Yeah get comfortable if they have that conversation and ask ahead. I'm not going to be having referred to talk to strangers on right. I I do anything at all costs. Avoid talking to people when I don't have to you know what I mean. I don't need to talk to people. I'M NOT GONNA go out of my way to do it pence the reclining. Yeah they have the reclined. Bun for a reason right. It doesn't say please ask behind you and then your seat won't recline very true very true all right so we have to get into today's podcast and this is a huge episode for reasons that I'm not that happy about I'm actually quite sad about it. I may start crying We were doing a live. Listen through Justin Bieber's album which we do for the album. Yup and as that was happening Justin Bieber Demi. That's all I'll say because I want you to listen. You can hear the you can hear live reaction happen live. We had everything. So you're hearing it as if you were sitting there with me. Not recapping it. It happened live while we recording now case scenario recording wise. Yeah so. We'll talk about that so that happened. Yup that happened. We will also be talking about Kim Kardashians House. She has insane playroom. Peter ex girlfriend talked to US weekly about Victoria F. And we'll talk about to all the boys I've loved before. Psi Still Love You. The sequel to call Bush before all right so let's get into it starting off with Justin Bieber.
