"Vacation. As we count down the last few moments of 2020 and look forward to 2021. Love to hear from you. Triple 8727 back. That's ended. 8727 b E C k. I met Mr Justin Barkley, Facebook, Twitter and all over the place. Um Justin, adjusting Barkley dot com. We're talking with Donald Miller right now. Who is sharing you know some of his thoughts behind This post that I saw on Instagram that really resonated with me, and we're talking about how you can transform not only in your life, but Maybe we as a country, it's a society can transform. From victims. And the victors. And don, you just mentioned some of this? How we've been hearing the messaging from politicians and the media and different places. Um, about this victim mentality and why we've kind of all sort of settled into this In some ways, maybe individually in our lives. It's very easy to do it, but there's an alternative that you mentioned. Mm. A couple of them actually just run through those quickly again, and then we'll get to like how we could Maybe do that. Not just in our country, but in our in our lives as well. Well, that you know, there's a few things to remember. One is that there are actually victims in the world. I mean, there are people you know. Henry Cloud of friend of mine describes victim as somebody who has no way out. If you actually use that definition, the victim has no way out the majority the time when we see ourselves as the victim. We are actually not victims. We actually do have a way out. It's just the way out is hard. Are the way out. It has has is going that request that we sacrifice and so we lot of times when we were playing the victim. A little bit of self awareness would show that You know, The reason we're playing. The victim is that victims can get out of their responsibilities because then you know they're They're into dire situation to take care of whatever they need, Take care, or they can attract a rescuer. The problem is when we play the victim. We're not a victim. People actually get tired of us and Justin you I grew up in a home. We were very poor. We stood in line for government cheese, and I remember just being so embarrassed and worried that somebody at my school would see me doing that. And You know, Mom had to work till 7 P.m.. We were latchkey kids we have in our key was hung around our neck on a on some yarn, and nobody's there to help us with homework and all that kind of stuff. I really did grow up thinking I was kind of dumb and I was bullied a lot And because I was bullied a lot. I learned this defense mechanism of playing the victim. And in this country it works. You know, people leave you alone a little bit. They don't bully you as much for the same time. You have no progress. You do not get better. You're not transform into a better version of yourself. You do not accomplish goals. You just hide. And and so I think we're gonna have a lot of compassion for people playing the victims because it is a survival mechanism. But what changed my life personally was when I realized it was and I'm embarrassed to say it was even in my early twenties. It took that long. When I realized that everything I wanted in life, I wasn't gonna get by playing the victim. That it was. In fact, it was just an unattractive role to play in life. And when I realized that and began to take some responsibility for my life, things slowly transformed over the next 10 years and I was able to You know, develop workout thick. Lose some weight start dating right? A few bestselling books started company And now you know, I'm not embarrassed When I look back on the way I thought.

"Welcome back Justin Barkley in for granted and Glenn back program. You can email me Justin and Justin Barkley B A r c l a y dot com Justyna Justin Barkley. Common also Mr Justin Barclay on all the different places of social media. The ones were they censor you and the ones where they don't Speaking, the censoring I got some guy just mentioned I shared. Another was another Just great question on Instagram the other day, and I I finally got sensor. Just heads up because of covert. We're gonna we're gonna We're putting a warning label on what you've posted, and it was just a question of guy was asking. What about this? What about that, But I guess questions really are the issue now, right? I can't question anything. And really, I think we're in a day and age where people are starting to question everything. And rightfully so. Yeah. I mean, there are plenty of questions. And and I I think any well with well meaning well intentioned individuals, smart people. Are asking these questions. Probably because most likely, you know The traditional sources. Media. The networks. Simply aren't You're just not asking questions. I've seen it here locally. In our in our state. I'm in Michigan. And throughout the entire pandemic. Our governor. Had been asked very little of hardball, hard hitting questions at all. Even in the beginning, And then eventually, as it became clear that this state was just gonna be shut down. She would continue to throw out words like I'm using the science and data. I'll tell you that on our local radio station here, we would air her press conferences in the beginning because information new information was coming out, But they're became a time where she just turned these into these weird Um P R sessions. And eventually we stopped airing them live. She start introducing things like race. Accusing health care workers in the state of being racist. Very strange, very strange altogether. We just stopped wearing them. They would line these People up and this was this was genius on her part. They would line these people up from the TV stations here locally and throughout the state to ask questions, and eventually, they had a point where she limited gatherings inside. Maybe only 10 people per gathering, and then she took the opportunity. To not allow reporters to be in person as she would address the state. And then ask questions. So if a reporter wanted to ask a question They would be linked up via some sort of video Zoom conference or something like that. And they would ask their questions remotely. I don't know whether these all these questions were pre approved. They had a time, but it looked very similar to what you know. Candidate at the time, Biden was lining up And the questions We're all Softball geared towards her. When you have that sort of thing happen, people. Are going to start pushing back. In fact, this is the same governor who continues to keep our state lockdown. Restaurants are just decimated. They say if they don't open up soon if they're not allowed to open up for indoor dining. Now we're in Michigan. Right now. It's 30, where I am in Grand Rapids were open for outdoor dating. And some of these places have gotten really creative, kind of like Cuomo in New York. No. If you saw the video, the guy sitting down to eat a slice of pizza outside with his fur coat off. It's the middle of the blizzard in New York. That's kind of what we're dealing with here. They've been very creative. They've set up these shacks and tents and places where they got igloos with with heating and things like that, so you could eat outside. If there's an inside outside. Now, That's the new thing. So in order to eat outside The inside has to be. It's just It's just insanity. But don't ask questions about this. It's crippling the restaurant business. Went to one over the weekend. We tried to just walk up to him. You had to have rest. We have got a reservation to eat at this tent outside. God only knows how warm it was in there, but we were gonna give it a shot. Meanwhile, take out is still available for a lot of these places and they're struggling, and I gotta tell you, I don't blame they're trying to do everything they can just to stay open. This is circulating on Twitter reached out to try and find out this guy's name and find out who he is. But he's just one of many. They're fed up. They just won't take it anymore. Listen to what he had to say in this impassioned part of.

During this entire last year, the election process but also the pandemic and And we've seen this kind of creeping in for the last several years has really been this this idea that who can you trust anymore? Where do you go for? Like real credible information. And especially in a time. When you really need it now, more than ever, I think we have been at war. For quite some time. Whether or not We recognize it whether or not it's clearly stated There's a war on With information. It's sort of this new generation this next, You know, maybe this is War War three and how it'll be thought. But World War three Might be with Strokes on keyboards. We've seen this hacking issues. I'm gonna play the government very recently here. We've heard issues with the election, and in fact coming up, we'll talk. With an attorney who says he has the goods you may have heard of this little tiny county in Michigan, where I'm from, it's up North. It's called and from county Traditionally it's a Well, it's it's a mostly Republican County. Funny thing happened on election night. Results came back and And it swung. Big time for Joe Biden. Well, not so fast. There was an issue. They said it was a human air. The Michigan attorney investigating because of a lawsuit file. It had nothing to do really. With the presidential race, it was something else. We'll get into that and talk about why, but also what they found. I mean, the real nitty gritty The data. From those Dominion voting machines that he thinks his recent question not just the land from county here in Michigan. But many other counties here in the state that used the same software. Not just Michigan In fact, States throughout the entire country. We've heard These names, but we haven't heard. The rest of the story. But you will today. Coming up in the next hour. We'll talk with Michigan Attorney meant Aparna. I'm also going to get into some of these other stories that you'll hear. Um maybe he won't hear the familiar stories. But she won't hear maybe the full reasons and and the real I don't know the real story of what's happening. S So what was in speaking of which That gigantic pork filled Greedo. Like I think that sounds that sounds delicious. The port full burrito. That Congress passed the other day the president came out and said $600 is enough. I need $2000. And that's what most news organizations are focusing. On fact, Nancy Pelosi loved that idea. She's jumping into action today, she might even get a vote done. In the house on $2000. But what was left out of the reporting is what was in that bill and What he said needs to happen. With the rest. Of those ingredients. He wants to hold the pork. You're not really hearing that full story. We'll talk about that plus pardons galore. Lots happening this time of year, and people have questions about all of it. I'll give you a chance to join us. In fact. You can do that on the program today at any time. The number is triple 8787 B E. C. K. That's triple eight. 787 Back. And you can also email me Justyna. Justin Barkley. Calm But you know, I'm on Twitter. I'm on Facebook. I'm all those places. At Mr Justin Barkley. Before we kind of kicked things off. I want to talk about The year. All the year. Itwas And for a lot of folks You know these issues that we're talking about Election pandemic. I mean, there's so much deeper, there's so much more real. There's so much more raw than just those labels in these ideas that well, we had an election. There's some questions. Yes, there's a pandemic. For many folks, I mean, there's 300,000 Christmas just won't be the same this year. Thousands. Here in Michigan, thousands of New York lost loved ones needlessly, really. Because governors in certain states Like our governor here, Whitmer. Promo in New York. A man who may be The attorney general. Sent Sick patients, elderly Had a hospitals. And into nursing homes, infecting And killing countless and I don't know. I said thousands earlier. But I say countless now Because we really don't have a full number of how many people died. In New York because there's still some questions about who died where Do they have numbers of the folks who were sent from the nursing homes? Then after they were sick back to the hospitals, and then they died in the hospitals? We don't have a clear count. One thing I think we have learned over this last year. Is that government agencies of the government in general just ate very good with counting in general. We're seeing that on all levels right now when it comes to vote counts. But those numbers in those hospitals and those numbers in those nursing homes. They're not very good. Really accounting for for certain folks, especially when they want to hide certain things. We've seen a lack of transparency..

"Judge Justin's Justin Barkley balcony and going back program merry Christmas and like I said I want to focus on some of the good things because when you when you look for it you'll find it there's something interesting that happens in our brains matter of fact this is kind of a biblical thing they talk about seek and you shall find in the Bible but scientists have found something to confirm this there's something inside of our brain card the R. A. S. the reticular activating system I like the new car facts so what happens is you go shopping for a new car and you find that beautiful the machine that you want if you've ever had a chance to do this you you look at eight look at all maybe the bunch of different models that you find the one that you the land right and and your love any sign the paperwork and you're ready to drive off that lot in the minute you do something interesting happens you got a bright red Volkswagen Beetle you drive that bug out and then he's you're driving down the road you know you are feeling pretty special but you start to notice well there's another one and there's another one and there's another one and I can't you see them everywhere I look that's the reticular activating system is a pattern recognition a system that happens inside of our brains so what you look for you'll find more of that's why I choose to focus on the good in matter of fact I'm gonna give you a chance to help us all do that today and focus on the good I think we are stronger together here we can do great things with the help of each other and I would love to see what's good and what's happening in your life bring your neck of the woods you guys something magical something miraculous such just something special that you want to share with us here's the number triple eight seven two seven back that's one eight eight eight seven two seven B. E. C. K. phone lines will give you a chance to to share first I want to welcome and a couple of yes Sir doing some great things a chance to shine a spotlight on some amazing things that are happening because there is no shortage sure we hear a lot about the craziness but there's no shortage of good things that are happening right here on a daily basis probably right underneath your nose if you only look for me to find a a Kyle the wife of Chris Kyle you probably remember and saw that film American sniper Chris Kyle foundation is the foundation okay joins us along with Adam Davis from the Chris Kyle foundation and a welcome the program we appreciate you guys being here with us merry Christmas merry Christmas thank you just a I'll tell you just dropped off when trying to get her back on our elves are working behind the scenes but Adam we want to okay it's a Christmas miracle will get her back on I will give you a chance to talk about what is happening of course maybe some that you all are working on right now and some of the great things that you do where the Chris Kyle foundation and where it where it got its start tell us a little bit about who Chris was Hey I just jump back on Hey Taylor how are you you know you back and and then we lost Adam so they're going to get there again Adam back but I think you're probably best to tell us yeah yeah I know how well you can jump around this morning and we do have a little bit yeah I obviously it's such a great guy and had it been tremendous and this year where you loving father great husband I think part of what are finding a really relate to that so you really have a desire to be just ten cell and not the picture of what maybe everybody would want him to be and we didn't get affected by notoriety I think that's the cool thing about him is that you could just in bell you saw him on TV the thing where you at the house I mean maybe I don't think people got to see as much of it here at the media at the Conan o'brien interview I think is on you to me now and I think people that last little bit more but he was always laughing and that are going to die and I think that the even that I wish more people back to see what is the Chris Kyle foundation the Chris Kyle frog foundation and the reason is that the word frog in there that navy seals are open on its frogmen land in the water and so that fall and feel is represented by a skeleton of a fraud that was near and dear to credit card though it is a horrible business or marketing thing to do his name that the Chris Kyle frog foundation because nobody knows that that is really but she but it isn't that a metal thing and we started after he was killed because Chris nine and this customer working toward trying to start something to help more families originally we wanted to have a couple of families and then as we started down that process we just realized that the mission looked much better if we keep their mark family Tracy threatened the Balkans anything else that we got in that way so we haven't foundation now that is the owner answered the marriages of those who served and we realize that there's this missing puzzle piece people want to have understandably they want PTS to be treated properly I do too we're not going to find that to be a typically and we want to be increased alcohol and drug addiction we certainly want to decrease suicide and studies are showing is that eighty percent of the suicide their relationship related in this community like that's a really important thing for people to realize because they've seen more evil world than others the world is not a state beautiful place a lot of times when you're fighting evil consistently and so they need a safe place at home perhaps even more than other people do and when that's in peril and it often is because it's a difficult lifestyle and there are no previously there been no tools for them to deal with these marriages differently than you would have been billion marriage but we've had to cut costs all bandaged we've been able to work at Baylor University and develop a curriculum for these couples as well as for civilian counterpart you can now can get continuing education credit through Baylor University and learn about the service this is different I'm I'm super excited about I feel honored and blessed to be able to lead the charge and that conversation third happened nationally to highlight this has been the missing puzzle piece right you can you can help all of these issues if you can get the couple at home on the same team to be healthy and whole right now they're both just depleted nice lady even within the marriage and that's not you know that's not gonna work for healing you know we're talking with tactile right now wife of Chris Kyle Chris Kyle frog foundation and we'll take a little bit more how to help here in just a moment but Taylor refresh our memory and let me know exactly how how did Chris looses life what happened so you know it he was always helping people and I think that's another part again that you just with part of immediate quietly did on the side he didn't do it for any band parent though whether it was a storm and he just went out and started helping neighbors at truly driving around looking for people to help nine people were in need that was at the part of his personality and it's hard so when you dropping our kids off at elementary school there is the mom who came out and carefully that that hurts that needed help and had PPS though of course great but out of the way you talk to her in a manner that would be comfortable for her find out more he you had no idea that this guy who eventually murdered Chris and his friend Chad had the issue that he had a little mom to layer standing didn't express any of those things which would have been really important information life saving information progress he communicated that her son had yet yes the psychiatrist in the murder trial testified that he did not have any traumatic event of life you didn't have PTSD never saw combat it was it even outside the military according to them you didn't have trauma so it appeared to me in my opinion this guy was using it to get out of trouble and to get things handed to him and so Chris unknowingly went and did what you've done with hundreds of other veterans he took them out to a peaceful place anything Hey do you like to shoot the guy seemed really excited about it and so you went to great effort left his family group like our family on a Saturday morning tickets friend Chad Littlefield they went and drove an hour to give the guy a time to talk and be at peace and got online and then they would go shoot they brought in different bands like old last replica because then just something that would kind of be guys out door is able to focus on something other than a sitting across the table you know what I piercing into each other so this works really well your people all the time and this guy just made a choice for evil eye in my opinion I mean not that I don't I need to re describing he waited for a brief window of time and he is not final Pena's leave in back to back filled Chad and grit multiple gunshot you know I've been down there their bodies and yet a wait and told her to I mean there was like one second to second window that he would have had to do that than any debt you know he said later he sold it well for a truck I mean you know I took the truck and then took off though and it was making a run for it I mean you know you can't even pay really insanity because depending if you don't know right from wrong and clearly did at that point when he made these choices that lacks down anyway long story short I guess yeah he he died doing what you live doing which is helping people we lost them I hero we lost a brave man and and one of the best of us that day but what what's fascinating to me is that he lives on in his spirit lives on in what you've chosen to do a pick up the pieces and move forward and entail want to share more about that because that's the important part here take a tile choices the crisscross of Chris Kyle frog foundation a quick break and we're back right after this in ninety seconds is Justin Barkley infer going today on the Glenn Beck program.

"And I'll share more about this at some other time and I sure more actually on my website it Justin Barkley dot com if you ever want to email me or just reach out and say hi and talk about anything Justin and Justin bark why be a R. C. L. A. Y. dot com the be a great place to do it but I started in radio because it's all I ever wanted to do was a kid I started in radio twenty three years ago today my first job was on Christmas Eve at a country radio station I the plate the Christmas country music and boy I was excited to do it in high school hi I think the only reason they gave me this job is because they needed somebody then is before they had a computer trying everything they needed somebody then just to keep the radio station on the air that will trust this kid to do it he can't screw up much and I did I was thrilled to do it one of the greatest gifts in today ranks up there right there with but I've had so many great guests throughout my life I really been blessed it would take me a full hour to go through everything that's happened in my life I'll tell you that I was adopted in the story is very simple the family that adopted me riding tried to have kids my mother and father to multiple miscarriages they just couldn't have a child of their own so they decided they would adopt they would give another child home they got the word that they were going to get me in this is amazing the mountain the miraculous fact that the dots can act is not lost on me because I look back and say that god had a plan this is fascinating that ani and I just learned this maybe a couple months ago I came home to live with them yeah they picked me up a day after my mom's birthday she'd been through a lot watching other friends and family and folks have children I can imagine the pressure of course the thoughts were in her head the question she may have had for god and possibly the anger but there was a gift for them a little baby boy I was given a gift because I was given a home can you imagine that if I told you all of these things are connected these things that I've been telling you about because they are he imagined that my brother was born a year later there biological son now this is not uncommon this does happen quite a bit usually when the pressure comes off things like that but god has a funny way of working things out that the got a plan there were so many ways and in so many instances throughout my life and I look back now seeing that everything is let me here to where I am today and I think everything is a lie each of us to where we are when we look back we will focus and find that the dots to connect one of the things that's important able to see that happen this the develop and cultivate gratitude so I started staying with a very simple thing I think god for three things usually I just make a little note right down in a little germ the three things that I'm thankful for now it could be anything in America I'll tell you this much it could it could be everything but simply the fact that we walk into the bathroom in the morning flip on the light switch and we have electricity and light like vat it could be that when you walk over to the shower you turn on the water you have hot water and it's clean many places in the world where they do so looking for those things as I said earlier focusing on the good makes all the difference it's allowed me to see the dots of connected giving thanks for the blessings of lead to more plus back in March on March first there was a letter in my mailbox it was from the department of health from the state that I was born in I knew immediately what it was because earlier the previous year they had just passed a law where they can unseal the records in adoptees could go find their birth parents now I wanted to know what was where I came from medical information history things like that I really wanted now the story I had bits and pieces but that turned out not much of it was true some of it was one thing my birth mother had requested that I be raised in a home where they would bring the church and as I said he had a plan the dots connect forty years later on ripping open this piece of paper and in tearing into the envelope and I stare at a for the first time I see there is my birth mother's name I see who she is I give it to a friend of mine is a private investigator Heil and he's able to find her and get her on the phone within an hour I find out I have a brother they were very close relationship as I can imagine they would she wants to tell him the good news and then she'll get in contact with me the next day so I go to bed that night heart full very happy optimistic and hopeful that the next day I'm gonna learn some more things of new information but I wake up in the middle night because I think I just will like about three AM and I do what I probably should know well what I would normally would not recommend but I reach over and grab that for I just think to myself not having any more information just her maiden name I wonder if I put that in the Facebook if I can find and sure enough I do she pops right up there she is my mama for the first time I'm looking at somebody in a picture of someone who looks like me now I know you may take that for granted because you probably go up like this is always been your life but I've never been able to look at someone else and look into the eyes of someone staring back at me who looked just like me so I scrolled through pictures I looked at other folks family members brothers cousins aunts uncles you name it for the first time they saw folks will just like me and a thought popped in my head three hundred fifty five pounds at this point I'm scrolling on the Facebook looking a phone the middle and I think of myself these other folks average theater normal looking maybe I don't have to be heavy see I'd been always heavy throughout my entire life even this kid but the next thought I think is the thought that changed everything they want for maybe I don't have to be happy to may be I'm not supposed to be in that very moment I didn't realize it but that single fought set off a chain reaction one after one where the dots connected leading even to this day losing eighty pounds reuniting with these folks rediscovering and re igniting the purpose of fire burning deep inside of me that wasn't quite there before.

"Seven be easy K. it's Justin Barkley and for going back to them going back program and the on the phone with us take Kyle Chris Kyle's wife Leah Chris Kyle frog foundation is the name of the foundation just talking a little bit about who Chris was in and his legacy living on today to share a little bit more about how that's happening and some of the positive things that are happening is she's chosen to move forward this way Adam Davis joins two good friend and author behind the badge of bullet proof marriage and I know Adam working closely with via foundation now and and had to do some great thanks welcome back on guys we appreciate you being here thank you for a moment just a so let's let's pick up now where folks are we're seeing some major I mean I you just go to the website you can read more about what's happening there is some major things are happening some people lives being restored families being brought together and say that a lot of ways because of the work you guys are doing yeah it's been really an honor and I'd love to let Adam talk a little bit more about his experiences but look cool when I felt like it is the divine intervention where Adam and I met and had the shared mission I know and you know just how we talk a little bit about the fact that Meredith is missing puzzle piece that most people don't see the important that but they're starting to we're starting that national conversation that it's that the missing puzzle pieces so many issues that are better and and their families are facing so when I met up with Adam about it he was already on that same page you Britain marriage with this incredible devotional makes it simple ask questions of the couple they could see that he was on the same page of diving into how do we make this simple for service coupled with merit to the complex issue but you know how we do that and help them save themselves and their families Adam you're told a little bit more I guess about how you got down that journey what brought you there you know it it really was born out of a place of of need as a former law enforcement officer I would go and search for resources and wanted to provide something that was really relevant and applicable and easy to implement and best what will prove marriages out Bob co authored it with lieutenant colonel Dave Grossman and he introduced me to my friend Marcus will trail and market senators with a day and we had a few conversations and she narrated the audio version of bullet proof marriage so graciously in it he comes back with about three hours of bonus discussions also you you basically have audio book and podcast all in one which is very unique but it was really born out of a place of of neat that less less working pro I know that I was in a very dark place and had it not been for a strong marriage I don't know where I'd be today and is not always easy but is something that if you put the work in and if you put together some some very practical tips and and some daily work you can you can really make it work and it will not just survive you can thrive in you can have the best laughs the better off you ever dreamed of if you're willing to do the work and so a huge honor to be able to work alongside the the team of the Chris Colfer Aug foundation today and in the be able sort of multiple other efforts and whoever we are truly better together we you know we I was just thinking the same thing and we we're stronger with each other we knew each other we set up up and and take care of each other special these folks have gone on and served they deserve our service when they come back no matter whether that be here Homer overseas when we've got to step up and do the right thing I know that you are making these things happen tae and Adam by folks stepping up and doing some things together to help Chris Kyle frog foundation dot com or is it dot org which one is it yeah we care for our work yeah so if you want to go you can help out tell us a little bit how we can help out what we can do to make maybe take a stand and say look what we're gonna we're gonna make sure that we take care of these folks have served us yeah we have a couple different ways that they go to the website and you said it creek out progress nation dot org one of the unique things that we did is we created a warriors club and that's something that people can sign up for monthly they get different perks with different levels of sponsorship but it can be as low as a dollar ninety nine a month and it goes up from there but I I feel like that's the one easy way to just monthly donate a little bit and we're we've really done the hard work to try to figure out how we can get the best bang for our Buck and when we help these married couples we stay with them for two years the family they're staying together with longevity from us a commitment that we're not gonna just one and done leave them and I think that makes a big difference will certainly is one way that was very very unique style funding has to be our biggest issues and that is a long term project I think that that's one way and then aside from what we're doing with the foundation and there are other ways you know buying our merchandise mall that cult but I think the other part of this is to spread the awareness that marriage is the issue I know a lot of people in the civilian world think that America declares network them down yeah we see the impact of the family but it's different for the service couple they either get station to another state and don't see their kids anymore or they don't have treatment for issues related to stress then they are more I think traveling to different addiction thing because they're trying to escape the evils of the world that they see and even if we can't really imagine the things that they see what the left the violence child abuse overseas and at home the murder I mean you know the worst of the worst is what they face and they need our support they don't have they should bring it home to their thousand connector they should not bring it home with me the issues facing them are much different than your help though awareness is a big deal to be a friend to their marriage if you know somebody that is in the third community find a way to be a good year and the courage them to keep their marriage and find find that "Justin Justin Barkley back in the going back program merry Christmas and like I said I want to focus on some of the good things because when you when you look for it you'll find it there's something interesting that happens in our brains matter of fact this is kind of a biblical thing they talk about seek and you shall find in the Bible but scientists have found something to confirm this there's something inside of our brain card the R. A. S. the reticular activating system what the new car facts so what happens is you go shopping for a new car you find it beautiful the machine that you want if you've ever had a chance to do this you you look at eight look at all maybe a bunch of different models that you find the one that you you landed right in and your love any sign the paperwork and you're ready to drive off that line in the minute you do something interesting happens so you got a bright red Volkswagen Beetle you drive that bug out and then you're driving down the road and you know you are feeling pretty special but you start to notice well there's another one and there's another one and there's another one and I can't you see them everywhere I look that's the reticular activating system is a pattern recognition a system that happens inside of our brains so what you look for you'll find more of that's why I choose to focus on the good in matter of fact I'm gonna give you a chance they help us all do that today and focus on the good I think we are stronger together here we can do great things with the help of each other and I would love to see what's good and what's happening in your life.

"Back it's Justin Barkley today in a special opportunity as I mentioned at the beginning of the show here we are a Christmas Christmas Eve and a special opportunity as the hustle takes a break I know folks around maybe finishing some shopping maybe you're finishing touches on the family get together the gatherings that you'll be having tonight maybe going to church or maybe getting together tomorrow morning throughout the day but it's a special opportunity for us to come together as a people thank a bonus and really focus on what matters most not the news or in most cases noise not what's happening in Washington DC but maybe what's happening in your own backyard and even more importantly and your own dinner table and most importantly maybe in your own heart our next guest is don Piper he's got an incredible story I'll let him tell it but he's the author of ninety minutes in heaven he died in yet he's on the phone with us today don well merry Christmas how are you well merry Christmas to you yes I am alive I wasn't but now I am in you know the death rate here's a hundred percent that's kind of a difficult thing to talk about on on Christmas Eve but it means that we need to be ready all the time for what happens next so I am excited to be here another Christmas this will be sixty nine Christmas is for me and I'm still here and so are you and while we make the most of it while we are because indeed you've got an incredible story Donna will let you talk about some of this but there's a chance for us as we celebrate the birth in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago a chance for maybe yeah we'll talk about death but maybe a chance to talk about a reverse that can happen new life I have been to that that church there is a church of the nativity in Bethlehem on number of occasions it is a very special place it's a very humble place very unlikely place for the son of god to be born but when you're there obviously there's a presence in the knowledge of the fact that nearly two thousand years ago the son of god came to dwell among us I was a pastor in nineteen eighty nine still am and I was on my way to church to leader Wednesday night service and I didn't make it I was in the East Texas a very rural area because I had been at the conference at a retreat center and about ten minutes out of the front gate in January of nineteen eighty nine an eighteen Wheeler tractor trailer truck crossed center stripe of a narrow bridge and hit me head on I never saw it coming it was a rainy cold day and it was just a horrific collision because he had two other cars after he struck me was amazingly bracket was really really none of those people were injured the truck driver or the other two drivers of the car they were treated and released in this area rule area whatever when finally first responders got there because it was really remote and they discovered before paramedics who are now working on me since there was no one else to work on that I had been killed instantly they did try everything they could to to try to revive me with such dignity they were unsuccessful so I was the body which was hideous was covered up whether a tarp and they're waiting for medical examiner to come into the appropriate paperwork could take me away and so I just lay there for a quite awhile in behind me were lots of other ministers one of them came up to the bridge felt god say to him to pray for me even though I'd been declared dead by several professionals and they discouraged him not from praying but from getting even near me because all the wreckage in the danger he finally prevailed got in the wreckage of the car put his hand on my right shoulder under the tarp a obviously didn't have any knowledge of this I was absent from my body at present little or at the time in fact moment the car the truck struck me he was praying because he was being a baby had and that one on for an hour and a half from eleven forty five when he arrived on the scene until one fifteen in the afternoon still waiting for the medical examiner he began to saying Helms over the body of the car using a great old him of the face cold water friend we have in Jesus and suddenly out of the car as you sing that song I begin to sing the song with him and he got out of the car quickly yeah the EMTs and said the dead man is singing so we pause here dot because people are just may be turning out in their hearing that taken what okay now what happened this guy was dead and you were gone for as the book says ninety minutes and having you were down and yeah and it may be more appropriately titled you know book publishers they want to they want to get a hook out there but that was what I was really not here for for an hour and a half because in heaven there is no time to time this place I could have been there for ninety years in ninety seconds there there's no eating it's linear it's propelled for but there's NO a lapse of time so I was away from here for that length of time and and he and he and a lot of other people now granted the they did they attempted to contact my family that morning when they you know found mine I identity they were unsuccessful because my wife is teaching school and our children to school at there was a Wednesday morning and sold a they call my church they did find my business card my wallet the cultured stole the churches I've been a terrible accident but not but I was fidelity because my next of kin and not been notified yet so the church of course started praying after they heard I was in a horrific rack and they called other churches they called other people actually by the time that I returned the thousands and thousands of people were praying because they've heard of been in an accident but not that I have been killed because they did not want to tell that on the phone but the man in the car knew it and he has a medical background himself so he was praying and and see sang the song and suddenly I found myself in the dark because when we were covered up with a tarp singing that song is without knowing who he was or why or why I was singing or anything having to do well what it happened to me in in the rack it took me hours to be filled in on the a the collision of the eighteen Wheeler and I was transferred eventually to a level one trauma center in Houston and so consequently you was it was just a it was just an incredible experience for everybody involved when I got hit by the truck my family got hit by the truck my church got hit by the truck everybody knew me and I get asked about it so many times because it is such an incredible story I decided to write a book in in in the book I one of the first things I say as I wrote this book in self defense and by that I mean it well if I write it all down can can we just move on yes my life I you know talking about this ray again I was supplies for thirteen months and I had thirty four major operations to re attach an arm and a leg and and overcome a lot of other injuries that were just life threatening and so I I just wanted to put this behind me but god put it in front of me and he does sometimes this time of year is a good reminder because it is about new beginnings so I had a new lease on life at that point thirty eight year old man married three children a pastor of a church things were going well and I felt like I was making a difference and then one day on the way to church I got killed by a truck don Piper's on with this right now author of ninety minutes in heaven and what you just heard him describe and in a very condensed away because I'm I'm sure you know don AT and talks about this now unusually money he talks about this when you read the story a matter of fact they made a they made a movie about this it it it takes a little more time to develop but boy you know we don't have as much time on the radio so we're going through it but what you just heard was that first miracle a no they say when you watch infomercials but wait there's more because they're literally is that's the first miracle don is in an accident horrific accident we're eighteen Wheeler rolls over his tiny car and the pictures that I've seen the wreckage is is absolutely unthinkable when you see this it's very gruesome the think about what he went through his body lay lifeless inside of that car and the folks the paramedics the first responders there it took awhile to get there but they did respond and found when he was there that he was no longer breathing he didn't have a pulse he was done yet one man walked up upon that scene and said I I wanna I am I just feel the urge this was another pastor that I feel the urge I want to pray for don and the police said now we don't you don't you don't want to do that you don't want to go out there trust anyone let him anywhere near but let alone inside that car inside the wreckage the lay his hand on you and pray for you and and don I want to take a break here and we'll come back and talk about because as he began praying eventually not only do you wake up but you start to sing yes let him that he was singing while he was praying for you yes it is and what happens next I mean that was the first miracle in a line of many but what happens next is is just it's absolutely unbelievable if you're listening to this now it did happen this is been recorded and of course the book is ninety minutes in heaven will be back with don Piper right after this is Justin Barkley in for going back today on the Glenn Beck program merry Christmas the rec.
