"But it's a very contagious kind of scenario, and people are trying to escape to get away and then it shows what happens as everybody's trying to find safety. Ah, and they're heading to a lake and to the lake. It's worth checking out. And it's a lot of winter weather stuff because it's outside Moscow and elsewhere in the middle of winter, which is unsettling Justcause. It's so damn cold and icy, which makes me feel glad we're here in Ohio. That sounds and I might have to check that out. There's some interesting stuff coming out of Russia right now, In terms of, you know, films, particularly horror films and science fiction. They got some neat stuff that I've seen recently. It's just I can't keep up with the subtitles And I only know enough Russian on Spanish. You don't know what the problem is with me. But I only know enough to get in trouble, which is not easily good other than other than very polite, like, Hey, how you doing, Possibly Danube. Sometimes with Netflix. You can force it to do dubbing as well. You know what you got to do it. While the movie's going otherwise I'll play the subtitles automatically. It's sort of defaults to whatever's The most popular We'll have. We'll have to get a tutorial on that because that may be beyond my capabilities at this particular point, But that's why you are Kevin Carr. Fat guys at the movies. "You're on the show as well. What's going on? Duncan? How you doing there, Robin? Good man. This isn't real quick and please don't No offense, but I always found it interesting How the offense, But here's the thing that's going to bother you. But I always found it funny how the media in general, and I'm keeping it the sports If you know what I'm talking about what stories they choose, toe latch onto and and make a big big news and what stories that they don't Decided to cover and for some reasons, I don't want to say swept under the rug, but just don't get any any coverage. And I just I left at this Fitzpatrick story because the same people that are quote unquote feeling sorry. Of the same people that have buried him for his horrible play for the you know most of the duration of his career. Not all but most. And you know I do get a kick out of that and the unknown on the other part of it. Um I do find it Odd. I love Fitzpatrick. And a lot is a locker room guy, right? But what he's doing and talking about it. That's a surprise that's very unlike him in the past. Getting, you know, almost sympathy and trying to get you don't want to say trying to divide the locker room. But now he's always been praised for being a locker room guy. Throw your hat behind this young kid and Let's let the team rally around that the more he questions this, The more questions will be raised in a locked room, especially they lose. You know, it's fair. That's fair and and thanks for the call, I'll say it clearly whatever it was resonated with him or this time around, and I guess it's the same reason people were surprised by it. You know, like it's one of those things I can't like. Tell you like specifically the measure. There's not like a number I could point to. With just that feeling right for him. It must have felt like he had a chance for this to be his team for this season. It must have felt like to him. This was not gonna happen right now. And then it did. And then he probably realizes. Oh, man, you know this is it? This is my career. This is who I am. For my Maybe all of it hit him at once. I don't know. Ah, I find the story interesting for two reasons. On a smaller level, You know my whole spiel about Ryan Fitzpatrick being his own class of quarterback and repeat it one more time. Cause I think the wording works. But if you're, um Q B is better than Fitzpatrick. You're in good shape. If you Q B is worse than Fitzpatrick. You're not if you're Q B is Fitzpatrick is eventually going to be replaced. But I really think the reason that this story resonated is the human element of it. There's a very human element to this story, and it's easy for a fan to say Yo, dude. You know this was coming. You always you knew this was coming from the second. This situation started. You can't really be that bent out of shape about it. You've made $17,000,117 million or whatever the hell he's made discreet there, he's made. Ah ah, good chunk of change. In his career. They're gonna have those people and then you're gonna have the people who are like $71.5 million he's earning his career three factually accurate. And then you're gonna have the people are like, how can you not feel for the guy? I mean, he's a human being. You could see the emotion on his face. They were playing well. He was playing well, like, you know, so there's a just a human aspect. To the story almost like a relatability to the story. Cedric in Phoenix. Cedric, You're up next here on CBS Sports Radio. Yes, I just wanted to say first off. Don't have that about being a Jets fan. I'm a Raiders fan. So believe me, I'm not a Jets fan, but you're talking Jets fans in general. Yet? Yeah, second. So the thing with this badger game after 17 years in the game, he should understand that when it comes to sports, no matter of his NFL NBA Soccer tennis. The better. You are the longer they're the worst you get you're out of there. And there's three ways your career command injury. You retire or you lose your position. Next man up after we have always been Sure, I mean, but you know, and there's like the cold, calculated aspect of it. That's true. That's easy to see. But then you know, like you. Don't you ever go through your life? And there's something that maybe like Very part for the course that still impact you emotionally or as a human in a different way, right? Exactly, But the way I was looking at it, as I believe it was 2017 2016 all those NFL kicker that were losing their job like back to back for different teams. They weren't getting the job done. And What he's in with 18. I mean, yeah, I do Feel for the guy. Don't get me wrong because being a quarterback is his life. It's all he knows that the plane time. You know, you know what comes with them. Is sure even leave you thinking away from you win. Did not, you know, performing there, you know, doing your job. I guess in this case, he kind of thought Iwas and that's part of the difference. And thanks for the call, but I wouldn't compare kicker to a quarterback Justcause. Quite frankly, we just don't talk about quarterbacks and kickers in the same to the same degree. Didn't Adam Sandler wants to like a song? The Lonesome kicker basically making fun of the fact that nobody gives a damn about thie. Only time people care about the kicker is if they miss a field goal or they make a long winter with the game, right like this is like The two other time the kicker never matters. Either You miss one that you should make or you make one. That's in a big moment. Those are the only two things that matter for a kicker. And quarterbacks. We've just discussed in a different way. That's just the nature of the beast. The way it is about David in Melbourne, Florida, David, You're up next here on CBS Sports Training. What's up? Come on. Good morning, Robert. How are you? I'm doing well, How are you? I'm well, Thank you Hope your family is well and good getting through all this. Thanks to you concerning. Ah, Ryan Fitzpatrick. I'm a longtime Dolphins fan. And ah, on a personal level. He's done everything correctly in the in the clubhouse, according to the lad that call before Um, But looking back when Don Shula have the gene? I, uh I was excited to finally get out there and start planning. It's not a team and No, actually be out there with the guys playing the huddle and No for majority. The game was going smooth, kind of shot in the foot there in the fourth quarter, but You know, for us to come out of a window here. With not scoring touchdowns as an offense. And how you know there's a lot of positive things to take from us is an offense today With how easy we got down, the Reds only seemed to score. So there's two sides this I feel like we can look at it like, damn, we didn't score Touchdown Arts. While we were in play to score a touchdown so many times it is what we did in the middle of field. He's gotta finish it. I'm glad to learn that lesson as ah, The wind not lost. Yeah, no doubt about that. But I just said that before he came on a hell of a lot easier to learn lessons in great film and fix mistakes. When you win a supposed to Louis losing, Let me ask you on the first interception there. Look to be. It looked like a back shoulder Stop route and was there miscommunication on the route because it didn't look like Tim actually look for the football at all. No, it was that was all on me. That was May I, uh, I felt like I was over top. A little bit back was turned to me and Get on the sideline, a little bits where I thought, you know. All right. I'm gonna put a high and on the back back Solder Tim and Sure enough, guy turned round fell off. I shouldn't have done that. We were being those guys deep all day. Jules has done it again, Justcause. You know, I should have thrown it. I should just let it go. Don't what I've been doing the whole game disposed the hall chucking it, and then it would been fined. And that wouldn't happen. We would have hopefully ran the balls more. The game was over when you throw in the second pick, But oh, well thing learn from and we'll see a We'll see it on film, and I'll probably slap myself for it. Nice to nice to get your college teammate Albert au Kuwait in action. He had a couple of catches in his NFL debut. I'm sure he's gonna look at the film on two passes in the end zone that I think even he will say, You know what? I got to go up and make that play, But he is a very talented fast, big men. Yes, Yes, I'm excited that he got out there today. Super cool for both of us to find to be back on the field together again. Just Ah, you know something that when I left Missouri, I thought would never happen. There's so many other teams and go to you would have had to feel like we need is a draft aside and you have to still be there. Just there's a lot of odds to say We're never gonna get my food log in together, and I love playing football at that guy. So for us to be able to be back out here in Gillette. And get a win in his first game where he gets to play is just super Special. Drew. Congratulations on the win. "Could be a year two at best before we really see any benefits to five G networks, even though the phone company's doing buying all the ads and the balloons and everything who cares It's not faster is not better. So who cares? It's just it's just a letter and a number anyway. But all the phones will have it. And I guess so fine. So you buy. It doesn't cost more anymore. Used to cuss more. Just very ho hum. It's like what? I don't understand why the Foret five g, which would you would think it before a plus five g radios. But no, it's completely different. Phone is much more. It's very confusing, and they didn't even seem like they cared. Honestly, it's like here you go. Retired thie commenced. Ah, the last Google TV So and this is confusing to when they first came out with Google TV way back when you might remember this lot to take in others made him and had a keyboard and a mouse was like this crazy device. I bought it. If that was cool, it's like a computer on your TV. Then they realized nobody wants that. So they went the exact opposite direction. They did the chromecast, which Your phone is the remote had no remote. No interface. It was on the phone. Okay, fine. I think they did. Android TV and a couple of companies made android TVs and some set top manufacturers. Did Andrew TV. Okay, fine. I like my video shield. Android TV 300 bucks. It'll pricey. Don't recommend it except it's really nice. Still doesn't have Ah, lot of the features. Lot of the channels that I would like, say, a rock or an Apple TV has, but you know, it's It's nice. Now they're saying No, It's not Android TV anymore. It's Google TV. And here's the new Chromecast with Google TV, and it's $49. That's nice does for KHD. That's nice, Dolby Vision. That's nice. For $49 is, you know the lowest costs you HD device for K device out there, and it's nice. It's nice. It has all the channels. God, and it's got a remote controls. He compared the remote control to a bowl of candy for reasons. I don't completely understand because it doesn't I wouldn't eat it. I know. You know they're going to sell a few five pixel five phones. I mean, they're not going to sell a lot of them. They don't sell a lot of the pixel phones anyway. In this one, they're going to sell even less because who cares? And they're going to sell some chromecast because it's cheap. But that They've lost their mojo. What's going on over there? The googol plex. Are you guys tired? Of life. Are you readyto? I just don't get it. I just don't get it. Okay. Okay. Ah, these would be they'll be fine devices and it's not my job. I shouldn't. You know, Justcause Tech. The tech press wants some excitement in our lives doesn't mean you have to be excited about what you're doing. You could find your job to entertain us. Isn't it was a little weird. That's all. I just I wonder about Google. I really do. I wonder what if their heart is still you know the founders Larry and Sergey they they went on, you know, they get their yachts and their you know their playthings. Sergei's got apparently building blimps. I don't what Larry's doing. He always said. I want to be on an island where there's no regulations. I'm sure he's in Barbados or something. Anyway. Senator Pacha whose very, very competent nice fella likes and are a lot always have. He's running the place. But it's a big place and I feel like it's Sunday. I was like, I know that's too much think he wants to retire. I don't know what's going on. So there you go. There's the Google event and my candid assessment. So the question I'm asking myself that this point is which, if you want an android phone what android phone to be the best to get. I think the four A's a good choice. I do think it's a good choice is inexpensive, relatively inexpensive. And it has all the features you want. Google still makes great cameras. Even though the guy behind the camera division left Mark LaVoy went adobe, he said. I've had it He was, he said. I want to work somewhere where they're into it, so he left. The guy who is in charge of hardware for Google Rick Coaster. Loe introduced the thing He's sitting on the couch. He's just, you know, used. What happened to the days when the predatory Steve jobs would roam the staging, and Harang the audience to say this is the best thing you've ever seen. It's gone. It's like Christie. Rick Coaster lives on the couch going in here. Here's the phone. I don't know. Because mostly finished. I'm tired. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Anyway, Um That's my review. 88 88 ask Leo. What is the best at this point? I'm thinking it's gonna be harder and harder for me to recommend Android phones. Apple is offering relatively low cost iPhones s E, which is quite good. I think they're going to announce their new phones. We still don't know. You know, it's it's over. Do they usually do it in September? We haven't received an invitation. Maybe Tuesday will get the announcement for the following Tuesday. So I was hoping maybe it would be, you know, on October 6th announcement this coming Tuesday doesn't look like that. Yes, they will sneak it out. So I think it'll be October 15th for the no iPhone 12. That's you know, honestly, at this point, you're probably better off just sticking with what you got. Unless it's really old and you get the new one. Give your phone a few years, five years, four years. Whatever. Give you phone a few years and then get a new one. That's one of the problems I have with Android. With his pixel five. For instance, they said, Hey, good news. We're going to give you updates for three whole years. No. No, That's not enough. It should be longer than the Apple's still updating their iPhone six s You get. I was 14 on that. That's what hold is that this five years So, you know, five years That's a reasonable amount of time to keep a phone and lets you like my kids and you drop it a lot an awful lot. 88 88 ask Leo. That's the phone number. What? I don't know what I don't know what's with Where did Google's mojo go? That's the question of the day. Our show today to you by. I got my mojo. I got my mojo working. I'm gonna We're gonna do a show. Yeah, we're gonna have balloons. Fireworks. It's gonna be exciting. But first a word from our sponsor remote PC with companies going remote. Employees working from home. What do you need? You need access to your work Computer. That's where all the files are The programs you need the network remote. PC is the best way to do this. Because with remote PC, you could put it on a Mac or a Windows machine doesn't matter, And it can access that Mac or Windows machine from another Mac or another win his machine or even from an IOS or android mobile device. But I mentioned in my kids that I had met that man once and we've interviewed both Burt Ward and Adam West, Adam West Arrayed animal must late, Great soul, Robin and Batman. And he said Why did Why were you talking to Robin And I have no memory of why we're talking Robin to amuse ourselves and the listening on it. I tell you what the original Batman show I read once and again. I'm not sure I buy this exactly. But The mark of successful art is it conveys what it wanted to convey it. It moves people in the way that the honoured artist had in mind. It's a least partially true, but the original Batman Was precisely in achieved precisely what it set out to achieve. It was It was funny. It was snarky. It was camp. It was all so much camp. It was actually fairly decent drama in that, you know. Ah, Robin would be trapped in a giant clam. You want to know whether Batman could pride hungry Jaws open in time, and you think? Damn. Yeah, I love the labelling of everything like it was that that computer and I'm pretty sure there's even Twitter account. It just is, you know, bad thing, but it was precisely as smart and as it was trying to be, and precisely as dumb as it was trying to be a really great art the stars that were in that show. Oh, yeah, Everybody wanted to be on it at the time. A lot of the like, You know, Burgess MEREDITH and I'm little Frank Gorshin. All thes reflect the biggest stars of the time. There's on you in A Simpsons appearance. Really? My son was watching an episode the other day that I swore to God I'd never seen which almost seems impossible. "Then you actually listen to the explanation. It does make sense. Even though he's a great talent. He's got a pass blocked better. He's got to protect because Daniel Jones is a young quarterback. Your franchise is riding on the success of Daniel Jones. Your offensive line has been in shambles for years. Even I keep on telling you it's improving and they bring in new people. It's in shambles. And if you want to get the best out of date now, Jones got to keep him healthy and a lot of times. That's going to be on state. Kwame Barkley. He's gonna have to block a lot. So, yeah, I think sake one's career to suffer because the line and the team that he plays on And Justcause. Maybe we're not seeing the best of sake. Past the motivate sake. One has to annoy sake. One second knows, even though I think he's a really good back. He needs better lineman in front of him. But when we look at things that we're trying to criticize him on definitely blocking is one of them. Guy's a really good player, but he has to work in the blocking because Jones take so many hits as it is, you need that running back is the last line of defense to help out Daniel Jones. What if Democrats would just agree that instead of coddling, justifying soft peddling, ignoring rioters What if we actually said If you do this, you're going to face really serious consequences. You will be punished to the maximum extent allowable by law. Riots are not OK. It's wrong. It's illegal. What if we actually did? What if we could all agree that we should do that? So Corte it? Yeah, you're everybody's favorite socialists will be speaking that yes. No, but I mean, she was. She's not like the in the place that Barack Obama was. You know there was, you know, 16 years ago or something. If they'd given her, you know, it's one of 17. That's one. Alright. Ohio State quarterback the Justin Fields put out a petition to 150,000 people have signed it. He's basically saying Let us play. Let us take the risk. We could make the decisions on our own as to whether or not we'd like to risk our health with covert 19, please. We want to play football here at Ohio State and other colleges that are also doing it as well. We had Coach. Oh, from Louisiana was on he was talking about Oklahoma is playing and right now they're fields in Cuba are keep E for Ohio is looking for anybody would like to pick up a game with them. Ohio State, Because so the big 10 there five power conferences, the Big 10 and the Pac 12 or two of the five they both decided to cancel the fall games and hope to play them in the spring. The A C C. The sea the sea in the big 12 so far, at least, have decided to continue with their with their games in the fall. And so the Ohio State. I mean, this guy's a superstar mean, he says. He's a big name in college football's. There is next to maybe Trevor Laurence. And because of that, he has a lot of cachet. He's got 280,000 signatures. A lot of players from you know the big 10. Have assigned it, but I don't know if he's gonna have much power T change anything what he's calling for saying I got it. Every player I know wants to play. Why don't we let the players that want to take the risk? Take the risk and the universities that are willing to take that risk. Let those universities you know, field teams and the universities and the players that don't want to Won't. The problem is because they're part of the big 10 there. They're in a group and be like United States making it you know, coming up with a national policy and then the state of Oklahoma or Arizona or New York decided. You know we're going to go a different path. If you're part of that group, you've got to kind of get group approval. And right now they're petitioning the big 10 commissioner and I heard one of the arguments against making allowing people to make that decision. Ohio State and I know that's Justcause G. Scott's kid is a player there they have. The resource is they are hugely, you know, monitor money. I guess they've been doing like test every other day for their players. It's like They can do it. But a lot of smaller universities in the big 10 might not be able to do you know, match up and then you know is that fair to the the group is a a tenfold or 12 teams. I think in the big 10 now, anyway, these are the kind of issues but it's fascinating because a lot of people I like your pitch on a John that it was sort of a libertarian move. Let me play. If I'm willing to risk my life. It's my life, right? Well, he's take one is that he's not going to die from that, but he could certainly suffer some serious.
