"And look, he is a couple of fights removed from two pretty impressive wins at the time against Adam Kavnowski. So I don't really have a big problem with it. I don't really have a big problem with Anthony Joshua. I think he's got to be active at this point. He's been too inactive over the last few years and he had to keep that date. He had to fight somebody. I didn't want to see him in against Derek Chisora. I frankly don't want to see Derek Chisora anymore, period. I think, I think Derek Chisora, if we're saying Robert Helenius is nearing the end, Derek Chisora is at the end. It's over for Derek Chisora. He's got to stop taking beatings in the ring, even though he's fighting Gerald Washington, who also shouldn't be fighting. You've got a lot of guys on that card that I don't think should be fighting anymore. I didn't want to see Chisora against AJ. I think that's dangerous for Derek Chisora. For Helenius, it's still dangerous, but maybe not, not so much. I'm with you. I'm expecting something seismic from Anthony Joshua in that fight. It would be good for him for his highlight reel, for his confidence, to get a win under his belt and then move along with his career. So we'll address more of that with Eddie Hearn. He's going to join the show a little bit later on. Let's talk about this past weekend. We had Jake Paul go 10 rounds for the first time in his career, beating Nate Diaz. Corey, I predicted a knockout in this fight, but other than the knockout, this went basically as I expected. I wrote on Friday for RSI.com that Nate Diaz does not have a chance to win. And all the MMA fans out there that were in my mentions and all the people that were shooting me down on social media, no. Proof's in the pudding. Nate Diaz, while showing more conditioning maybe than I thought, he went 10 rounds in his first boxing match so there's that, did not seem to take this fight very seriously. Never threatened Jake Paul until he got him in a chokehold in the very end of the fight. It just went as I expected. How did that fight play out for you? Pretty much as expected as well. You're right. Nate Diaz was, I think that this is kind of the last time that Jake Paul can go to that well and that well being fighting a current or former MMA fighter and basically tricking the audience or a portion of the audience into believing that they have an opportunity to win. I don't even know if that's true Corey. I think MMA fans are always going to believe in their guy. I think if Jake Paul made a fight against Conor McGregor for December, which is not going to happen by the way, there will be a large swath of pay per view buying MMA fighters that are going to be convinced that Conor McGregor, all 170 pounds of him, can beat Nate Diaz. Or beat Jake Paul. Yeah, that's a good point. And you know, like hyper popular guys like McGregor are going to be outliers here. And that's why Nate Diaz worked here because I think that logically people understand now after seeing it time and time and time again many times with Jake Paul himself that someone who is specializing in boxing is going to beat someone who's kind of a multidisciplinary fighter. That's just how this works in sports and in particular in combat sports. Nate Diaz was sold as a guy that could have been a boxer but had these other skills and so he went into MMA and it was rooted in these sparring sessions with Andre Ward over a decade ago and the fact that Ward was kind enough to say, yeah, he was pretty good. You know, but we've heard that all the time. People are just very nice about people they spar and they're typically not going to denigrate them afterwards. You had to listen to the guys that were doing the denigrating, like Falcoa who sparred 12 rounds with him and Robert Garcia's Jim. He said after two rounds this guy was done. He said boxing is not for him. I believe that guy. Respect Andre Ward for backing up his guy and all the people that are part of Team Diaz but he's never boxed. He has never ever boxed and when you put a guy that has never boxed, that has fought in one combat sports discipline for his entire combat sports career in with a guy who as green as Jake Paul is clearly has some boxing skills. Rudimentary, yes, but he's got some boxing skills. He's got real power in both hands. You put him in, put a guy like Diaz in with a fighter like that or any MMA fighter in with a guy like that and they're going to lose. Every single time they're going to lose. Yeah, exactly. But, you know, at the very least, you know, Diaz was basically able to and I wrote about this on Boxing Scene on Monday. He was kind of able to mimic what a like a UK or European level like Journeyman and I'm talking Journeyman like 70 to 100 lost Journeyman, what they're able to do with prospects, which is basically just give them rounds, pander to the crowd, be a little bit of a clown, amuse everyone and then ultimately lose in the end and Diaz had the punch resistance and the cardio to offer that for Jake Paul while not really troubling him in any way. So he was able to do that and he showed that yes, Jake Paul has power in both hands but he doesn't have like magic eraser power at Cruiserweight or at 175. He wasn't able to get Nate out of there. So he was able to show certain things that Jake will obviously have to work on if he has his goal of becoming world champion by 2026, which is what he said at the press conference afterwards. That's a new one. I mean, not super new but he's gone from saying, I will be a world champion someday to put a date on it. And he's targeting Canelo. Let's be clear. He doesn't want Canelo's title. If Canelo doesn't have a title, he wants Canelo because that's a huge payday if he can convince Canelo Alvarez to get into the ring with him. But he's added that to his list of future teases. One thing he's saying though, and I'll take him at his word for it right now, is that he's willing to get into the cage with Nate Diaz. Fight him in the PFL, offering Nate Diaz $10 million. And Corey, if I'm Nate Diaz, I take that immediately. If there's a check for $10 million plus pay-per-view upside, even if I don't really want to fight in the PFL, which it sounds like Nate's not all that warm to, you take $10 million and you get Jake Paul into your combat sports domain. Because Nate Diaz against Jake Paul in the cage, that's Nate Diaz all day long in my opinion. Yeah, and faster. In the cage. Where you can choke a guy out. Kick him. You can do all sorts of things. I don't see a way for Jake Paul in the cage to do what Diaz was able to do in a boxing ring, which is just go rounds and survive and absorb punishment. There's just, there's not ways to escape in the way that there is in the boxing ring. So yeah, of course, for $10 million, I mean, I'm sure that would be a career high payday. Of course, you take that fight and, you know, credit to Jake Paul for like, if he's serious about taking that because that's a real risk. And you know, Jake Paul, obviously, one thing he obviously cares about is his level of fame. He doesn't want to be humiliated on the internet. That is his currency and being able to be the troll who ultimately gets the upper hand. He's putting himself at real risk of becoming a meme if he steps into the cage. So credit to Jake for putting himself out there and offering to do that. So you kind of touched on this. Do you think there's any, I mean, what's marketable out there for Jake Paul? I had some people on social media say, Hori Masvidal. No, no, it's the same outcome. It's the same, you know, even if you put, like, a John Jones in there with Jake Paul, I don't think John Jones beats him. He's a lot bigger, but I don't think John Jones beats Jake Paul in boxing. Fred Snaganu probably does because he's so much bigger, but you know, the crossover options are, they're dwindling. I mean, I think Conor McGregor would be huge, but I don't think Dana White's going to sign off on Conor McGregor going to fight Jake Paul in a boxing match. Not now, probably not ever. To me, the only options for Jake Paul in boxing in 2024 are a rematch with Tommy Fury and then KSI. I mean, KSI is the mega showdown. That's the mega fight. Probably over in the UK, they can probably do something like Wembley Stadium. I mean, they could do something big with Jake Paul against KSI. That fight gets even bigger if KSI can find a way to beat Tommy Fury later on this year. And there's so much spice to that. You know, the relationship between KSI and Logan Paul, they're now best of friends. They are business partners. Logan has told me the beef between Jake and KSI is absolutely real. They hate each other. That has some spice to it. That has the ability to make Jake Paul a bundle of money in a crossover type of fight. But other than that, there's nobody left in the UFC that I want to see him fight. There's nobody in the other promotions, combat sports promotions, that I want to see him fight. And he's not ready for a real fight. I mean, Canelo has got business in 2024 and probably beyond against other real fighters. I think it's just KSI, it's just Tommy Fury. If Tommy Fury loses to KSI, he's probably out of that mix as well. Yeah, I mean, I think like a year ago or so, you know, there was the possibility, I think Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was being you know, dangled out there as well. But that like, that feels... Is he retired? I don't even know. Is he back? Kind of retired. Well, and it feels gross to me because it feels like it's preying on you know, Chavez Jr.'s very real personal problems. And if Jake were to win, it's obviously because, you know, Chavez Jr.'s demons have just sacked him of whatever talent he had before. And so I'm not personally interested in seeing him go that route. I think the reality is that Jake isn't going to and nor should he really fight someone who isn't already famous, who doesn't have built-in fame and a built-in storyline like the two names that you just mentioned. And there's also still some learning for him to do. And because of this predicament that we're talking about, that learning for him is going to have to happen in the gym. But a fight like against KSI, it's kind of the perfect matchup because not only does it have all of those juicy storylines for the people who are invested in that world, but it's kind of two guys that are running on a parallel path and the winner can kind of say, well, I am the real boxer that's going to continue forward. And the other one, you know, if they want to continue on and do the thing, that's fine. But it determines who the real one of these two is. And that's at least something. But there's just, you're running out of options because Jake could fight an obscure boxer and just market the fight on his back as being me versus a real boxer, whoever it is. But I don't think that's appealing to him and it's not going to make him quite as much money. And you know Jake a lot better than I do, but I get the sense that being a famous person and having successful events that aren't going to be, you know, clowned for tanking or anything like that, that is of utmost importance to him, too. And if he steps outside of this realm of fighting people with built-in clout, he puts himself at risk of becoming that. Yeah, he's been very critical publicly of the things that Misfits Boxing are doing, the kingpin boxing are doing, kind of the gimmicky stuff, tag team boxing, all the stuff we're seeing happen with influencers right now. He doesn't want to be part of that, doesn't want to be a part of that. Yeah, I think KSI is a mega event. If he can make that happen in the summer of 2024, that's a huge event over in the UK. I think there's still money in a fight against Tommy Fury, so he's got a couple of options left on the table. I'll tell you what was interesting, it was a packed crowd at American Airlines Center on Saturday night. I was in the crowd, didn't call the fight, but I went and watched and none of these people are boxing fans, none of them. In fact, you talk to a few of them and the things you hear are, this is my first ever boxing match. Floyd Mayweather could walk through that crowd and he would be less identifiable than the guy Logan Paul does a podcast with. That's how different and unique that crowd was. He's able to bring some people into boxing and able to introduce them to some real fighters. That's what brings me to my next topic, and that is Amanda Serrano, who we saw for the 20th round beat the Daylights out of Heather Hardy. I give Heather Hardy a lot of credit. I mean, she was all guts in that fight, but didn't have a chance to win from the opening bell. 41 years old going up against a still in her prime Amanda Serrano. That was just too much for Heather Hardy to handle. But I did find it interesting that Alicia Baumgartner was there, ringside, part of the commentary team for that fight. That's a big fight. Corey Serrano against Baumgartner has become a pretty significant fight. That's a fight that I think could do a big crowd at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, maybe a small venue in Las Vegas. Of course, if you bring it back to Detroit Baumgartner's turf, you could do a crowd there. If you go to Puerto Rico and do a crowd there with Amanda Serrano, but that Baumgartner Serrano fight has while not quite reaching Taylor Serrano or some of the other mega fights we've seen the last couple of years, that's on that next level. I think that's a pretty competitive fight. If I'm both women, that's the fight I'm pushing for next. If you're Amanda Serrano, what does a title defense at 126 do for you? You're not going to get a fight with Katie Taylor, at least not until like May of 2024. And Katie Taylor, for all we know, could retire after fighting Chantel Cameron a second time. So if you're Amanda Serrano, you're pushing for that fight. And if you're Baumgartner, that's the only fight out there for you, too. You want Taylor, you'd do a fight with Michaela Mayer at a different weight, but at 130 pounds with all four of your belts, that's the only fight for you. So I think that's a mega fight that could be brewing over the next six months. How do you see it? Yeah, I think it's a fantastic fight, both marketing-wise for both of them. I think that Serrano and obviously her affiliation with Jake Paul and the muscle that they would put behind that promotion as well would benefit Alicia Baumgartner. But also it's just a fantastic fight as well. Like Serrano for me, you know, regardless of gender, is one of the most exciting fighters in the sport still for me, you know, just an all action volume puncher. And Alicia Baumgartner is in that bucket as well. I mean, this is a dangerous puncher who has an exciting style in the ring. And we saw kind of the storyline building with Baumgartner on commentary as well, kind of talking to Serrano on commentary and kind of saying like, hey, I'm this new generation that you haven't fought yet. Like, you were one of the greatest of all time, you have broken barriers, but there's an A-tier of fighters who have come along since you and even since Katie Taylor that you haven't had a chance to fight yet. You know, her and Michaela Mayer and Sunisa Estrada, like all of these A-level fighters that Serrano has yet to really match up with, let's see if she can beat them. Like that is compelling. It's a generational battle, it's a fantastic style matchup and it does good business as well. I mean, Serrano and Baumgartner's stock, you know, their social media following, everything has been growing and growing and growing over the last year or two. I think it would be the perfect time and the perfect fight for both of them. Yeah, and if you're Serrano who has pledged in the past that she wants to stay at 126, she's only going to go up again for a rematch with Taylor, you've got to come off that some because there's nobody at 126 or 122 coming up that makes any kind of sense, makes any kind of money for you. And Baumgartner, even though she's a strong fighter and we've all seen the Terry Harper knockout, I'd probably favor Serrano in that matchup. I mean, I was looking at the numbers from Serrano against Taylor. Serrano threw like 650 punches over 10 two-minute rounds against Katie Taylor. Like she could overwhelm Baumgartner and Baumgartner may have to just land that one bomb and Serrano has also shown she's got a pretty good chin and is willing to stand in the pocket. It's just a great fight. That's a headlining fight and I don't think there is a headlining fight out there for either one of them. I mean, Serrano in a title defense, whatever. Baumgartner defending her title against Choi, the Korean fighter, like I'm good. I don't need to see that. There's nothing else out there for either one of them. I hope those two sides can get together. It's matchroom, it's MVP. They've done a deal in the past. They did a deal for Taylor against Serrano. They can do a deal again for Baumgartner against Serrano. Alright, this weekend Corey, we have a pretty good matchup in the 130-pound division. Oscar Valdez two fights removed from a loss to Shakur Stevenson. He will be going for a 130-pound title for a second time. He's going to face a fellow Mexican in Emmanuel Navarrete. This feels like a good style matchup. I know Navarrete is a slight favorite, but I think a lot of that is because people think Valdez has lost a step. He's a little bit older, had that tough loss. Shakur Stevenson's been in some wars in the past, but I mean what? I saw Navarrete get knocked down the fourth round by Liam Wilson. He's not invulnerable. I think this has the potential to be a fight of the year type of fight. What do you think? This is an awesome fight, both in terms of the caliber of the fighters, but also the style matchup as well. It's one of the many big fights it's coming on the backs of right now. I think that if this were coming off of two quiet weeks, there would be a whole lot more excitement about this fight. It deserves that level of excitement. I hope that as the week goes on, people will start really getting revved up for this fight because this could be a fight of the year. I don't think there's any way that this fight can be boring.

"Old, he shouldn't be here, but everybody loves him. Tyson gets on stage. We're on the side of the stage. Everybody's pointing at Mike Tyson. Somebody's kids are yelling for Mike. We have a social media clip of somebody's kid getting pulled on stage. Espinosa pulls him on stage for Tyson. Enticing, what a one 80. Like, who was this guy? Back in the day, probably would have punched kid in the face. And he wanted to eat someone's children. Right. And people were like, here, have my kid. Not this one, so. You know, he brings a kid on stage and it was just, so the way his pact, the way in his, this is weird. We're going to talk about this face a boxing thing in a minute. This way is more packed in like canoes last two Wayans. Canelo's weigh ins were. They're in circus. But this wing was packed in a different way. So it was all packed all the way to the back, right? There were people in the parking garage. The first second and third floors looking over to the back of the stage. Yelling, and I'm looking up and I'm like, I've never seen a weigh in like this. It was that many people there are folks love some parking garage. Yeah, reminds me of MLK parade. If you ever go to MLK parade downtown on all Fremont, everyone's hanging over out the parking garage. It's the best spot. You won't get shot, you got some shade. Yeah, so like urban loading was really on point. But there were celebrities and athletes and entertainers everywhere. I went to topgolf on back to back nights. Ring magazine had a dinner. It wasn't really a dinner. It was weird that top golf. So it's not dinner. It's finger foods and some golf. And they're like, oh, we got a presentation. I'm like, oh, great. I got a presentation. What could it possibly be? Oscar De La Hoya basically gave himself a belt. Just for no reason. So they were talking about their doing legacy belts for ring magazine. And for people who would have won the ring magazine title for fights before the ring magazine title existed. And they was like, the first recipient of the title is Oscar De La Hoya. For when he be Julio César Chávez. So I'm sitting there. Thank you. That was like Oscar's like, I'm so surprised. It surprised me. You bought the bill. Imagine opening your own birthday gift and be like, I can not believe y'all did this for me. Thank you. Yeah, I've done that before. Well, he did, and he acted surprised he gave a speech and ring will probably hate me, 'cause I'm about to say this. So I walk around, you know, there's people there, like lady Garcia and a bunch of other people. And somehow I get my hands on the run of the show. And it's like Oscar X surprise is part of the way, what are we doing? Act surprised you got a ring magazine title for a company you won't. Really? But we're about to gimmick. Yeah, I mean, just that did he wear it to this ring party. He looked normal. He had like a flowery button down shirt. We had like 5 buttons down and then he had some boots again. He had said his girlfriend had dressed in which, all right, sure. Okay, so she has different tastes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like her booty was out the entire weekend. It was odd. It was an as Bernard. I was like, what's up with your man? He was like, who I was like, Oscar. He's like, what you mean? I was like, fashion choice is bro, and he was like, I can't tell Oscar what to do. I was like, yeah, you need to 'cause he look crazy out here. In the streets. Nobody to ask her what to do. This is Oscar's on another one. One of the wildest midlife crisis. Yeah. And I love it. Ever since he joined us on the show, he's like, yo, I'm moving to Henderson. I was like, smart man. Moving to the right side of Las Vegas. He's hitting a whole different level of light. And we'll talk about him after the fight. But he's just on a whole different level of fuck it right now. Man, is he? He really, I mean, the press conference. He just got spicy with Leonard. Oh, Leonard though. And then Leonard just like, um, that was a body bag. We just beat the shit out of all your fighters. We take it when we beat him up. And then they did it again, which we'll talk about in a minute, but damn. Or Leonard. Lennar was on his ass. Yeah, Linda was on his head. Yeah. As we go through the night, I'll talk about ended up talking to Leonard after the fight. It was a wild week. It was wild, but it was team, right? There was a lot of people, and that's our video of a man being hit by a chair. By a chair, mid fight. In the venue, got hit by a chair. Maybe that's what comes up for. Like your T mobile doesn't even have chairs. I guess it was a floor seat. Yeah, it must've bought. I don't know who wasted their money on it. No. No, no cops came. The fight just ended. There was a scene, right? So there was a scene at the fight. We saw like 15 cops like start walking down the entrance, and then they stopped and then turned around and left. So I don't know if it was a case of what's going on or if it was a case of I ain't getting involved in this issue. I think that might have been it. And it's surface. It's circulating out there. So if you guys want to see a man get hit by a chair in a non professional wrestling setting, it happened at this fight. I will say, from everything I saw and I showed up Saturday and all that good stuff. Everything I saw, I would probably venture, this is the most black people I've seen at one fight. It included, nah, Floyd, Floyd, out priced a lot of people. So you were in there, but you were in there, but there was a lot of people in there like

"Know, I guess they have to commend the WBC publicly for doing what they did, but again, it doesn't matter. Until the British boxing board of control, the most pertinent organization involved in this at this point, clears him, who cares. But again, Chris, he can go fight and Dubai or Saudi Arabia or somewhere else where they basically have a commission that was just formed in the last few years and they'll just allow those to pay a whole bunch. I don't know what the benefit of bringing Connor Ben to Dubai is. Is there going to be some line of people to see kind of in fight in Dubai? I don't know. But they seem to be spending a lot of money on other events that I don't know why they, you know, that doesn't really seem all that sensible, but money over there. So they don't really care about that either. Well, bottom line is you're not going to be able to do a big domestic fight with Connor Ben anytime soon. You're just not. And the eubank fight's gone now anyway. Gone. And even if you were able to win a rematch against Liam Smith, you could conceivably piece that back together in terms of public interest, but I think in a lot of people in boxing think that whenever Conor Ben faces the British boxing board and submits his evidence, he's going to face some kind of suspension. And it's not going to lead to him immediately getting reinstated or a licensed by the British boxing board of control. By the way, last thing on Connor Ben, I didn't know Domino's Pizza was that savage. Did you see that tweet from Domino's Pizza UK? It was a tweet that they put out calling this new pizza, the Connor Ben special, and it was a cheese pizza with egg on it. They put eggs on the pizza. Savage burned by Domino's Pizza UK. And Connor Ben replied and he said, I prefer Pizza Hut. There is a pizza war going on in the UK Keith involving Connor Ben. First of all, I would like to know why Chris mannix is following the Domino's UK I wasn't. It just popped on my timeline. I didn't even know they had Domino's Pizza in the UK. So, you know, yeah. It's clever, I suppose. Savage burned by diagnosed UK against God or Ben. That was wild. Unbelievable. All right, Jake Paul is back this weekend. Finally, getting in the ring against Tommy Fury, this is a fight that's been scheduled. Now three times. Tommy has backed out of it twice for various reasons for his due to injury second due to the inability to get cleared to fly into the U.S.. This is being billed Keith as Jake Paul's first test against a real boxer Tommy Fury officially ate no as a professional boxer though if you take a deeper look at his resume, you can see it's a very, very thin one for a professional boxer. Let me ask you this. What if anything, do you think Jake Paul would prove with the win over Tommy Fury? The combined records of Tommy Fury's 8 opponents is 34, 176 and 5. So you could certainly argue that fighting Tyron Woodley or Anderson Silva was more impressive than fighting Tommy Fury. Now he's Tyson Fury's brother, but he only had 12 amateur fights. The pitiful combined record of his professional opponents is embarrassing. And if you really look at it, he has 8 professional fights. He's 8 and zero with four knockouts. Anderson Silva, who has spent most of his life as a M and a, an elite level MMA fighter, has 5 professional boxing matches. So what is really the difference between Anderson Silva and Tommy Fury, other than that Anderson Silva is better. He's already fought someone better than Tommy Fury. Tommy Fury is a nice guy, man. It's easy to deal with. It seems like a pleasant person and all that. He's clearly living off his brother's name and fame and legacy and all that. He's not. I love island. Yeah, and he's famous in the UK and all that. And I don't blame him. He's just exploiting the opportunity. And he's making an what I was told. He was making $5 million for this fight, which is wow. That's accurate. That's nuts. But again, the Saudis are just printing money so they bring this big event over there. Jake Paul, to his credit, has said this himself. He said, everyone is fixated on this quote unquote, real boxer theme, I've already fought someone who's better than him and beat him in his last fight. I thought the fight was a little closer than the scorecards had, but he did knock Anderson Silva down. And Anderson Silva to Tommy Fury's point is more than twice his age for 7 years old. You know? So, but he probably has, you know, he beat. Julio Cesar Chavez junior, of course, is not the gold standard for professional boxers. He doesn't prepare properly. He has really irresponsibly gone about most of his career, but he did beat him very convincingly, and there's no way no fighter on Tommy Fury's record that is anywhere near as good as Julio César Chávez junior, even at this age, and even at 60% of himself. So he's already beaten someone better than Tommy Fury, so this whole real boxer play. It doesn't make a lot of sense. And Jake Paul himself has said that. But if these people are willing to pay him, this amount of money to see a fight that, frankly, I don't see how Jake Paul loses, congratulations to them. I agree with everything that you said there. Tommy Fury is a celebrity, certainly in the UK, but you know, I mentioned the resume. Just watch his fights. And I've watched a handful of them over the years. He doesn't possess a fraction of the skill that his half brother does. What interests me most about this fight, Keith, is that the fury family is at least publicly putting an enormous amount of pressure on Tommy Fury. Tyson is basically said you have to drop the family name. If you lose the Jake ball, you know, dad is convinced that Tommy's gonna go out and flatten Jake. Tom is a knock guys out, like he's got what Ford knockouts on his resume and he hasn't fought these world beaters with great chins. I'm honestly because I think Jake's gonna win. I don't know how he wins, whether it's a decision, or he scores a knockout. I think Jake's gonna win. But like, I'm more interested in the aftermath. Like, was this all just bluster? Are his Tommy Fury gonna get like disowned by his family if he can't beat Jake Paul. I think that's the most interesting thing to me. Chris, if Jake Paul doesn't knock him out, Don fury might. You wouldn't want to go back to the corner or go back on the flight home or whatever and have to face him. I mean, that guy is holy, you know. He's all in. That's not a stable dude. And they've said some of this stuff, I'm sure, in part because they believe that he should win, I guess, but ice and fury is no dummy. I mean, he understands level his brother is at, and he has publicly commended Jake Paul for his development. Now he's not fighting quote unquote, real boxers and all that. But Jake Paul has shown a lot of improvement from the time he turned pro three years ago until now. And you can't really knock the hustle. I mean, the people, it's a small segment of people, but if people are willing to pay for this on pay per view and pack these arenas, he's going to continue doing it. Just like using system on rescheduling this Tommy Fury fight for the third time because there seemed to be for whatever reason public demand for it in the UK more so, but among Jake Paul's fanbase. "Make every moment more this season with FanDuel, the official sportsbook partner of the NBA. And just to give you something else, don't bet in the Lakers this year, it's not a good bet. Time now for this week's picks brought to you by FanDuel and I am locked in this week on the pay per view in Arizona. Jake Paul against Anderson Silva, the problem child against the spider, the odds for this fight right now are pretty close. Jake Paul is at minus one 90 to win. Anderson Silva, a plus one 52 underdog. I like Jake Paul. I think Jake for all his critics is becoming a pretty good boxer. And even though Anderson Silva has that win over Julio César Chávez junior. I just don't like a 47 year old Anderson Silva against a 25 year old Jake Paul. I just think there's too many physical factors in the column of Jake Paul. And I think he wins the spy to take Jake Paul to win at minus one night. If you want to get a little bit of money out of this, if you want to up your odds, look at Jake Paul by knockout. Jay Paul has shown some fantastic power throughout his boxing career. He stopped Tyron Woodley with a one punch knockout in their last flight. Silva, again, has been a durable guy in MMA, but he's 47 years old. And this is an 8 round fight. I don't know if this fight ends with one punch in the way that Jake has stopped woodley and Ben Askren and Nate Robinson. It could also end with Jake just wearing down an older silver, but either way, I think this fight ends with a Jake Paul knockout.

"Okay people people can can judge their work of his work. Regiment that has restored him in this way on their own but But we're guardless. The veto that i see going in here just looks more youthful faster. I know he's nowhere near the level of boxer holyfield is. I just have a weird feeling. He's going to hurt him. He's going to do enough. Is he. going to knock him out i. I would also doubted that you guys are right. I don't know if there's enough incentive either has enough gas to kind of to kind of go to that next level and actually put the other guy away. But i think he took it hurt on and there's there could be it. Hurt him enough to win a noncontroversial decision to a comfortable decision. That has Kind of wanting to look forward to detours next boxing and kind of hoping that holyfield box again. But that's me. I don't know if that's i. I'm just kind of being the dissenting opinion here. So we've got to holyfield's and the one belfort. Let's talk about the coleman guys which to a lot of the may fight and community is really the main events i mean. This is the fight that most of our listeners. Readers viewers are talking about anderson silva vs tito ortiz. Now was when it was booked wasn't most people's but number one choice for For after the the win over. Julio cesar chavez i think people had a lot of other more creative ideas in mind dido was a bit of an odd choice that guy not known for striking and a guy who was not really near anderson silva's way class as we found out today at the way ends when not weighed in at two hundred pounds which is five pounds over the contracted weight limit and he will forfeit in in very ma style will force twenty percent of his verse to anderson. Self but So i ask you mike. Do you think at any intention of trying to make the way and do think anisimov Knew that he wasn't going to make look t- tito says a lot of things and i can tell you firsthand that i was the third person that interview tito after the press conference i interview. He said he went to sixteen the second interview. He said he weighed two. Oh five i was the third interview and he said he wanted to eleven so take that you want a man between okay. Wow the human body is crazy. Okay so at at at the same time that do like. Here's one here's one thing. That's interesting about anime and pro wrestling all this stuff like you watch these guys on tv and you don't really see them in person when you see them in person like you get to actually gauge like how big they are tito. Looks like ingratiate on scrape on tv. He's a muscular. Like average guy like but really good shape. He's a fighter. You kick the crap about people but tito is a big do like he is massive. So i'm looking at him. Like how in the blue hell is there any chance. You're gonna make one ninety five. Like i don't know how he got two two. Oh five how big was like i was just. I was amazed. I was shocked at how big he is but he got down to two hundred and he stepped on the scale beforehand and then drank pedialyte. So there's a very good chance that he got under two hundred pounds and just couldn't do anymore which is pretty amazing with a guy that and he taught and one thing that was consistent about all these interviews and what he said the beginning was when he found out about the fight was to forty so he cut forty pounds in just a few weeks to get here and i asked him in the conversation. When was the last time you were under two hundred pounds over to over twenty years over twenty years. You've been over two hundred pounds. So i don't necessarily buy into the fact that tito didn't give this any effort because i think i think he did. I truly think he did when i saw him this morning. Yeah he was bouncing around in good spirits when he stepped up on the scale and did that test way. He looked pretty rough. I don't think you go to cut another out. So i will give him all the credit in the world. I think he cut his much as he possibly could. But i do understand at the same token if you sign a contract to fight at one ninety five. You're saying by putting pen to paper. I can make that way. So i get why anderson silva was disappointed. I get why people would be upset about it because you signed a contract by the same time. After standing next to that man. Yesterday i was like. There's no chance he gets to one five. She's not physically possible. But so i do think he gave the effort. But i just didn't lose any chance. I even have sanderson what. I interviewed him. After the way. And i'm like you really thought it was gonna make it. You actually thought he make any said you signed the contract. You're saying you're going to make it so there you go well. We haven't seen the purse information yet. But i would feeling anxious gonna enjoy the a twenty percent that he gets from dod ortiz bought. I think in boxing. I'm pretty sure he has a flat rate to. It's not it's not like where's the show the show and win so that twenty percent is actually probably a much bigger twenty percent even than we're thinking so because you know usually your your your salaries cut in half if you lose so he gets a flat rate so it's going to be even more so good good good good business combining literally right now out there. He heard guys. Here's talking about them here about well. I think i think are are calming. Ernie pretty glowing about. I could be wrong. I don't know what you guys are going to say. I'll say now. some. I've seen him as high as a minus. Eleven hundred favourite on some of the sites Tito around plus six hundred underdogs. So i think when i don't think expectations have changed much from when this was signed again. This is one of the greatest. Strikers may history was the guy who is more known as a wrestler grappler and again. We just saw him very nice boxing. Performance against julio cesar chavez junior so Casey what do you think of those odds. Do you think that that's sarah around the right number..

"Well i mean. I think that does have the. He has the ability to her anderson. He has the ability to sit to anderson down. We've watched anderson. You know sit. He's been out. He's been dropped several times later on in his career now skill wise. I agree a hundred percent with you. Skill levels are completely different. But like you said it is a fight and it landed one point. I don't know i'm i'm an optimistic. You never know. I do i think. Do i call a pseudo winning this. I don't but there is that chance. And you're right anderson. Come and look like shit or income on and look amazing being proving and and maybe we see a glimpse of the anderson so we used to see the one that was so motivated in and committed to training and fighting and seeing him in the boxing world. Maybe this is a new challenge in Revival forum did you wash his fight with julio cesar chavez junior i did watch a portion of it yes. I didn't get to see the phone. But i got to see the highlights and stuff. He incredible he looked so happy in there like he looked genuinely happy. And like i feel like this is a bit of a career like you know two point zero which is weird to say forty six but like it's a weird two point over for him but he looks like he's having a blast out there and i just have a hard time believing he's going to go out there and play it safe against tito i think he's going to use tito as a springboard to maybe he fights de la hoya or maybe just i don't see him like i don't i just don't see out like maybe maybe it goes to decision purely because tito having a great chin and he might have some weight on anderson but otherwise like and listen. I'm going to watch because i love anderson. I've been in a unlike you. I grew up. I love anderson silva. I'm a huge anderson silva guy so i'll watch i. I don't give tito a lot of you outside of the whole like anything in fly outside of the. I don't agree chance in this one you i'm gonna. I'm gonna go for anderson as well. I i love him. He's super skills. He's got great. Footwork is head movement especially in his last fight the movement that he had the head movement like he had a good rhythm. That's what he's always had great rhythm but for boxing. It's it's it that rhythm is it. it's an it's great and boxing and he looked great and like you said he was happy. It was like a dance. And that. From what i remember. When anderson was at his best. It was a dance for him. In a sense you know more than it was an actual fight. It was dance. Frontal is just this incredible way that he moved to no one else in move like him. And i did see glimpses of ad in his last fight you know and that movement tito is very straightforward steph. You know But a heavy hitter. He's been on the sport a long time. He's doing his game one hundred percent Let's see maybe this is something that can spark him and get him to want to be great at something again. Argues gonna get sparked. I don't know if it's going to over. I think he's gonna get sparks without being said Quick let's talk about vitor and vander. Because unlike tito and an and anderson the line on this when the betting line has veto the favorite and he was favourite over de la. Hoya to which is why it's a little. It's a little crazy. Because oscar is a legend and oscar but advantage the different situation advantages. Taking this right on sorta notice now. I've heard vendors training. We've all heard that vander was trying to set up the boxing match with mike tyson. So i think he's in shape fifty eight though taking on sir noticed and and obviously veto where we've seen. I'm sure you've seen like he looks ripped. He looks ready. I don't know that. I can give a prediction on this one though. Because i don't know what i don't know what we're going to see i really don't it's interesting. I think that. I think that the delahoya in belfort was Was a that was a really. That was challenging. Fight on both ends. That was a really good advice But i do give the edge to be rejoined is not only as a younger. He has been training for a delaware who is much faster. Much you know throws many more punches at one time more combinations a lot more movement out of delaware than vander but vandor is a powerhouse. we also just. We haven't seen him in a while a long while. and so. that's what makes this fight. Kind of interesting. He can land that one. Hit wonder though we know that he can't use a powerful man But i definitely think that this is going to be the favor of hr. I lean towards veto tour. But i also like i remember watching the mike tyson roy jones junior fight and i was like good. Lord what are we going to see. These guys are both you know i mean listen. I mean there's ages the greatest enemy of fighter we all know that But then you look at anderson at forty-six hundred. He's the one. I saw tyson out there like good lord. Tyson looked awesome. Like it was amazing. So if holyfield comes out looking like that maybe the night. But i'm with you. I i think detour will win. I'm picking veto or you know. Just because i think he has some advantages with him are being trained and ready for a fight and all that kind of stuff but if advantage comes out there looking like tyson did it by turn into a bit of a war. I'm i'm kind of excited for the possibility angry with that. i i. he vendors a powerful man. He's a powerhouse he could take a shot. We know that. I mean we haven't seen him in a while. And that's what that's what just kind of worries me a little bit of this fight and makes me hesitant on where this fight goes but i do know you know major looks great like you said he looks great right now. He's in great shape. He took his very seriously Was training hard. Padilla was training hard as a big fight forum and You know he's a good striker user. a good boxer for animate fighter so Ic who. I was the sore fighter in the delaware fight being the actual he faster more elusive fighter in this fight. All the matters though is we're going to tune in and that's all trillo cares about. That's all they care about. They want us to in. You know what. I'm interested. I can't lie. Say not interested interested to see what's going to happen. They put on a show over there. And it's fun. I can't deny it's not fun Pearl before i let you go Obviously you are always busy. I talked to dave feldman last week. He hinted that you might be making your return in november already mentioned. Maybe britain hardest opponents. I'm not going to nail you down on anything here but are you excited to make you. Returning became see later this year. One hundred percent. I am one hundred percent excited and i cannot wait to compete So yeah i'm excited. I'm actually on my way to Las vegas i am. I bought an rv two weeks ago. And i originally went down to miami. I drove it. Down to miami from brooklyn moved out of my apartment in brooklyn And mime actually. I'll be training with george rubio Who is currently in las vegas training field. Fema lopez so..

"Still the biggest star in the of c. But you look ronda rousey did you look at take coming back. You look at Rose unison and zhang ueli about to find. That's going to be a big fight. We knew the rivalry between rosen yuliana. That was a big deal We see it all the time. You know holly home is obviously a big star and you'll get ballot or chris. Cyborg is one of the areas not their biggest star. I mean you could argue. Cyborg is their big star And it goes. It goes down the line and it's just kind of crazy like how mixed martial arts is figured it out yet other sports. Can't i understand. It's marketing i understand there's interest level but it's just crazy to me how. Us is a sport where the president of the uc. What ten years ago said women will never fight in my octagon fifteen years ago. Was we've come from that to now where women are on par with the men and you can't really say that about any other sport i say. Tennis is probably the example because there are a huge number of joe. Huge women's stars and tennis. But i can't think of another sport where it's this level of the plainfield. Yeah i agree with you. These are good fights you good matchups. These aren't scary. Way fights here so i'm really excited for them now. I'm going to disagree with you. A little bit there pearl because i do think there's a little bit of one way traffic and i'm going to say this. Listen it's a fight. I've been around the. I've been around the sport long enough to understand. It's a fight anything can happen. But i feel like anderson silva is probably going to use tito's head like a like a like a like a beach ball and i'm sorry. I don't mean that disrespectfully. He's a legend hall of famer. He's not a boxer. Tito has never once outside his knock over chocolate del. When chuck was forty nine or whatever. No one is ever not said man. He's got the best hand. The sport there guys boxer Anders anderson doesn't go out there and just dominate this fight. Then it's just sheerly out of anderson losing interest. Because i don't see how the fans in just a one way traffic am i like i. Listen i love you. I i really do mean as i respect he. So much tito. I've always i grew up like before. I was a journalist. I was a tito fan. I watch tito. I loved watching tito. He was guy who brought the show into the fight like he was the guy who made it an entertaining show. He made it a show outside of the fight. I love that about tito. Titas not a boxer though. Tito is not a striker. He's never been striker and literally unless he just goes out there in clinches with anderson and just tries like muslim around the ring or anderson just looks like he has zero interest in being there. I have no. I don't understand how this is not like a completely lopsided.

"But i think more than anything i think people still think that eriksson leuven as tough of the kid has he is as good of a boxer as powerful as he is does not have a good chin and if he gets in there. Richard mellon charlie. Again he's gonna get knocked out with one punch in the first round what you would have to favor charlotte to knock him out. So i don't know what the public's response is going to be if he's forced into that and luminous now the mandatory challenger for the wbz title again. And if you're a network are you paying a lot of money to like what is the justification for a rematch looking. There's no controversy. Their fight obviously was not competitive. So i don't know how you would sell that fight exactly but look like danny garcia is a potential opponent some other fighters coming fires. Tim zoo was. I know you want to discuss. Let's get the perfect opportunity to get into tim zoo because i am starting to really liked him. Zoo i understand. He's not fighting elite competition. But this guy's not just a name. This guy is not julio cesar chavez junior capitalizing on the name of his father in this case the great cost zoo off. Tim zoo is skilled. Tim zoo has power. And i'm wondering who is going to be the first big name that takes on tim's zoo either in the us or tries to go a big paycheck over in australia. I mean we saw manny pacquiao. Go over there years ago and take on jeff. Horn didn't work out from any patio. In part paying the judges may have said something. Some do with that. But i mean there's real money to be made if you go over there and fight in australia at least under non kind of covid circumstances what do you think. What do you think of tim zoo. And what do you think the next the first big fight. He's going to be able to talk himself into. I mean it's hard to know what to make of him. Entirely chris because he has a couple of good domestic winds on his record. Obviously he'd be jeff. Warren very easily be denis hogan those are good wins against domestic level fighters but he hasn't beatty beat them up to like he beat both thoroughly. Beat up both guys..

You have the <Speech_Male> illusion that it's i. <Speech_Male> You have violence. <SpeakerChange> Art <Speech_Male> flood <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> razors the <Speech_Male> creating more blood right <Speech_Male> so people get the get <Speech_Male> the the <Speech_Male> perception like. Oh my god <Speech_Male> this terrible. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> It's just blood though. <Speech_Male> Just blank <Speech_Male> dominant fighting. Some <Speech_Male> people blood his bed. <Speech_Male> But you're not getting those <Speech_Male> internal injuries. That are english <Speech_Male> or somebody. <Speech_Male> You can't keep loading <Speech_Male> heavy heavy shots <Speech_Male> on somebody <Speech_Male> and and <Speech_Male> survive <Speech_Male> the fight. You can handle <Speech_Male> absolutely on <Speech_Male> you know so. So <Speech_Male> i do think though the safer <Speech_Male> but it's more <Speech_Male> action in <Speech_Male> the force more action <Speech_Male> try on especially <Speech_Male> is no generalship <Speech_Male> so <Speech_Male> asked consistent <Speech_Male> knockouts. <Speech_Male> The tried on <Speech_Male> itself is more different <Speech_Male> than any other band <Speech_Male> ring as well because <Speech_Male> it's like <Speech_Male> ninety percent <Speech_Male> knockout ratio. The <Speech_Male> show i just workplace <Speech_Male> month <Speech_Male> all the fights <SpeakerChange> and they're knocked <Speech_Male> everything want. <Speech_Male> There's nowhere to go. <Speech_Male> You know what i mean so you got <Speech_Male> nowhere to you. Got <Speech_Male> to know how to fight right from where <Speech_Male> you are. You gotta <Speech_Male> have the ability <SpeakerChange> right from where <Speech_Male> you are and <Speech_Male> i saw you back up. <Speech_Male> You get yourself into one <Speech_Male> of those triangle corners. <Speech_Male> You got you got <Speech_Male> on both sides. <Speech_Male> You get us nowhere <Speech_Male> to go now. I really <Speech_Male> food so <Speech_Male> so. I think it <Speech_Male> has staying power because <Speech_Male> the short fight the <Speech_Male> knockouts make it even shorter <Speech_Male> so out <Speech_Male> of action forces action <Speech_Male> so in a <Speech_Male> generation where <Speech_Male> it's really <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> where <Speech_Male> it's a new generation <Speech_Male> young people they have. <Speech_Male> This saw instant gratification. <Speech_Male> Cyber they don't have <Speech_Male> big <Speech_Male> they don't have a <Speech_Male> big mental <Speech_Male> spain <Speech_Male> To to concentrate. <Speech_Male> I call the dumbest <Speech_Male> generation. We <Speech_Male> tried <Speech_Male> to what <Speech_Male> in order to <Speech_Male> to kind of a <Speech_Male> sell <Speech_Male> to them. This is <Speech_Male> the would you have to sell <Speech_Male> to at this point. That's a good fight off. I forget I was going to say, I like Luke a in that one, but I'm going to root for Casa. I hope he wins. I really do. It's a big win for him. Big win for Casa and see what else we got. Anything else you want to talk? I have something. What's that? I got a letter for a collection. Apparently it's a long story but apparently someone's trying to collect a bill, they say my dad owes and they send it to my address. Right. I can I think was for a power bill at a house I used to live in or something, I don't know, but they're $28 and so I called him back and I said, you were trying to contact the right person and they said, well, we're going to have to get a hold of your files and bow. We can do that. And I was like, well, you would need to start with some candles and a Ouija board cuz he's dead. So that would be the best way I told him. I talked to him, I tell him to call but I don't know if he's worried about credit score right now. So the media's had the balls have to tell them that to call my mom's house and ask you if my dad was dead. Like so I got to call them after I got this podcast I'm a record it off. My response is going to be awesome because I don't know how my mom was like, Hey, you know this company they told her I gave them her number, which I did not, but they said yeah, they said they want to verify that your dad was dead and that you gave them the number. I was like, Really. So that's going to be interesting. The day, you can reach to a file and got it for my page to talk about Saturday night Dad. What good is it for the viking. What good for emanate so. That's something that's no. Avoid in terms of who. We can build our next superstar around. And you have someone like anderson. Who's going to be participating in the boxing matching that other clown julio cesar chavez junior so he's long path i mean the expiration date is far interesting silva being relative being a fighter in a ufc. That can help them move forward. I mean that's long gone. That's more than i'm very. We're reaching now eight nine years when twenty twenty one. Yeah so we're reaching what made me five six seven years. The last time anderson silva was really really significant for the prosperity of the ufc. So i who was with. Who are we going to go to. And if you take a look at those guys who are still fighting john jones i mean. There's the possibility of a super fight with francis. Gano that can be great. That could be wonderful. Jones still thirty two years old. So we've got the juice left but jones heads fucked up so many times that. How much can you have seen. Put his trust in. John jones moving forward even if he does beaten in ghana and become heavyweight chip. I mean that would be awesome. That would be great. But i mean it's a situation. "That's who loses. All right, so I'm also what's his name? A couple of things. So Dominick Cruz wants to fight shuttle Mally or vice versa. That's a great fight. Henry sahur o is calling out Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. He he wants box Mayweather. I don't think towards going to do it. I don't think it'll be kind of I think Floyd is going to be tum. I love Henry I think in a fight Henry all day, but in a boxing match, I don't see doing I don't know. You know, I love how everybody wants the box like I was like, I want to go in business with Bill Gates. And then with the company the next day, like listen, we're going to be $50 for the company own network. Like, of course, he wants the Box Floyd Mayweather. Everybody wants to have to pay day. Well, yeah, but I mean it's sponsored by Gap Kids. And then today Tyson Fury said he wants to box in Ghana and then vice versa. I think ngannou gets a Tyson Fury in boxing. Of course. "Is one of the fighters that cut. It gets not mention about the golden age of boxing hagler leonard. Well guess what i mean. I thought the fight would let it was stopped prematurely but going into that fourteenth round heard with beating leonard what if wanna see a one punch knockout go watch thomas hearns vs roberto duran and that overhead right he delivered on roberto duran. I believe it was the second or third around that durant was out before the grim durant. You could kick that you can have him get kicked in the face by a mule in durant would be standing there. But that boom boom pinal that thomas hearns hit him with the two jobs to sit up that right hand not even with. He was out the minute that that Punching him in the jaw. So tommy turns with another underway. The fire that most people really didn't pay too much attention till two until after the fact but hagley was great and we all know about the greatest round and championship history. If you remember the fight between thomas hearns and marvin hagler is on youtube. I suggest for those who don't remember those who weren't around. Go watch that fight. The both brutal action packed three minutes of championship boxing. I've ever seen. I've seen some great man. I i've seen ken. Norton fight Wary homes and you talking about a fifteen round. That was the greatest greatest round and fighting history. That was That that was larry. Holmes and ken norton round fifteen for homes to win the heavyweight championship. I've seen some great fights. Man to julio cesar chavez beat notre taylor thanks to richard steele. I've seen to really. I've seen some classics riddick. Bowe and evanger holyfield great. Great fights but I fight between thomas turns and Thomas hearns and marvin hagler which is unbelievable and really one of the greatest things that marvin hagler did one of the things that made him a rarity not just in boxing but in for professional sports in general but speaking boxing. Marvin hagler marvelous. Marvin hagler did something that not even the legendary all-time boxing race like joe. Louis and sugar ray robinson mohammed ali and henry armstrong. And joe frazier and sugar ray. Leonard and julio cesar chavez and jack dempsey george foreman couldn't do marvin hagler does something that none of those guys couldn't do he retired and never tried to make a comeback when he lost that. Fight the sugar ray leonard. Which didn't but when. He lost a split decision to sugar. Ray leonard in las vegas after sugar. Ray leonard did some bullshit for the last ten fifteen seconds of the fight of around the steelers drown even though hagler was hitting him with a much greater shots because it was widely believed after four layoff for him the comeback in get into the ring against marvin hagler the fact that he survived. I think in the judges mind was a situation where he wanted to fight because he outperformed but many of the prod knocked cases. Were predicting that he do. He won the fight because of that in the eyes of the judges. If you watch. That fight jabbed many times. Marvin hagler won that fight he was the aggressor he later. The harder shots. And as i mentioned before the bolo punching and all this nonsense and all the whoop de do that. The the the the the the sugar the spice that array leonard did in the last fifteen twenty seconds of around to tantalize. The judge to give him Give them the gift. Sugaring limit the rounds with bullshit was absolute bullshit so after then. Marvin hagler was so disgusted. He was like you know what i'm done. I'm not i'm through. I'm through with vegas. Because they cheated hagler before in vegas so he was like you know what man i'm done i'm out of here. So you know. And he never came back in fact sugar ray. Leonard wanted him to come back. There was going to be a huge payday for a rematch. But hag was like man. I'm good tell ray leonard to get a life. I'ma moving on he moved to italy became an action movie star over. There weren't how to speak italian. And i guess he came back. He has softened. I mean when he left the ring he was bitter and he was angry about what happened and i don't blame them. Sugar ray leonard. Had a way of getting under people's skin in marvin hagler was a guy who skin was easy to get under. I one of the reasons why he was so aggressive against thomas hearns was. He was like look. You know because to get ready for the fight to promote the fight. We had to go to the city city and we had to do these press conferences in day after day. Place after place to stop after. Stop and press conference after press conference. I had to hear tom attorney. Put me down. He was going to do this to me. And he was gonna knock me out. And i know good and this that and the other so by the end of the by the end of the promotion by the end of the you know the the promotion deal i was ready to whoop this guy s. I couldn't stand him. I hated them absolutely positively hated them. Marvin wasn't about them. he wasn't about. I'm gonna knock you out. He wasn't it wasn't that type of guy to promote like that. So if you bullshit it thinking about on trying to sell some tickets. So the tells tickets. I'm going to go ahead. And i'm going to disparage marvin hagler in disrespect them and pull them down this that and the other the sultan tickets you know before worn morning down with that he ain't gonna go along with that he ain't playing that. There's no wait not not. Let me go insult soldier. Because we're gonna be making more dollar signs. Marvin any plan that he's going to take that to heart. He's gonna take that seriously. And as i mentioned before to be taught by the time that promotional tour ended he hated absolutely positively hated. Thomas hearne for all the shit that he said so with leonard doing the same type shit and then he feels that he was cheated that he was robbed which was in that decision. Hagler was like fuck this. i'm done. I'm a boxing. Game thirty four years old. I want to go ahead and do something else you before he went to italy became an action movie star and came back with the year's gone by with age he softened he loosened up a little bit but he was still marvin hagler. Didn't know that he was living in new hampshire but Yeah i'm sorry to see a great one will the greatest the greatest middleweight of all time pass and only sixty six years old. I hope not related. I just hope it's not related windows world in sports. Your host wonder. Wallace glad that you could be with us all right so for me i am done. I am out of here. I'm going to switch it over to win the wallace in going to give you my special dedication to my georgetown hoyas so before i do that. I want to say that. I wanna thank you so much. Extremely proud and extremely grateful and extremely excited. This is all gravy whether they win or lose in the tournament. I don't care can lose their opening game by hundred. i don't care. Now looks like the knockout of the year tenth round stoppage to win the wbz hundred and thirty pounds title and oscar joins me here on the show oscar. I saw you in a parade this week. Was that your first parade knowledge. There's been like my fourth parade because we have a tradition naby every successful because from as they do a good new age for him at eight eight eight the gore around the fire fire truck and is pretty pretty pretty pretty awesome. You know as i did it twice. The first time was went to olympics. Two thousand eight second olympics third time was become the world champion hundred twenty six four though but without a doubt. This was my large. This crowd was made more noise. This is gone. More people victory all those accomplishments. You mentioned the two olympics the championship at one twenty six. Where does winning this fight and winning this title match up to them as a top one number one dollars my best accomplishment so far very happy because a gym about holding the wbz world title belt the champion results. A little kid saturday. Now i have my own. So g drinker true and the fact that i was the underdog the fact that was a great congress and the fact that a lot of people were doubted. The the fact. That noah fighting circumstances like kobe situation global pandemic. And it's very hard for everybody all that just made it way better off just made do so much better so talk about you being the underdog coming into this three two one four two one in some sports books you had popular figures as you. Well know like julio cesar chavez picking miguel shelter i mean how much of all that was was a source of motivation for you coming in knows murdered positive guy ever used nothing never up and get the best on the neverland the negativity all make me lose to shore focus. "I met Jones. There's only three football games left, and that's it. Then season's over. He got transition into something else and that something is usually basketball MBA in college. And there have been some really weird things that have been happening in those sports that soon you're going to be picking up on but you may not have paid attention to Let's take college basketball for second. When I would If I were to ask the average person to name me the biggest college basketball programs. You are probably going to say in some order Kentucky Duke, North Carolina Maybe you'll throw in Kansas those air before mine. You're a college basketball ball. Reporter. Do any programs matter like those? No, they're not in the same love. That's a different stratosphere. It is. Here's the problem. This year. They all stink. Kentucky well, Kentucky's the worst. Kentucky is 49 on pace for potentially the worst season in the history of the program. They are on pace to be as awful. As they have ever been. Duke is five and four and sort of teetering on even being in the tournament. Kansas is right ninth but just lost their third game in a row. For the first time since 2013 and North Carolina is kind of middle it You have a chance where Kentucky and Duke could both be outside of the N C. A. A tournament and North Carolina and Kansas maybe in but not contenders. So my question for you, Myron and Joe is nevertheless, with all that said, When you turn on ESPN, you're gonna see Kentucky playing and you're gonna see Duke playing and USC North Carolina play because here's the dirty little secret of college basketball. Those teams right higher than the other teams even when they stink. So what is more interesting to you, Myron? And what is more interesting to fans? Kentucky Duke Carolina being bad or the top three teams in America, Gonzaga, Baylor and Iowa being good? Well, I mean toe a junkie like myself. It should be the top three and then Gonzaga, Baylor and ill. But that's not where the spotlight is. The spotlight is always gonna be on Kentucky, Duke Carolina and kids but especially Kentucky and Duke, and I think we were texting early in the season and I think I said, like, they can't both be bad. I mean, if Kentucky struggling, it can't be Kentucky and Duke or of Duke is struggling. We're going to Kentucky to come back somehow because you can't have both teams struggle because they are the spotlight of the entire sport. And Joe. There are some great players scattered throughout this game. Hey, coming here might be your number One pick. He's at Oklahoma State. They played Baylor later today. Jalen Suggs is one of the more interesting guards I've ever seen at this level place for Gonzaga. That guy is going to be a top five. Pick. There are number of guys. Evan Mobley, USC, a number of guys who are going to end up on NBA rosters. People aren't tracking them because they're not following the sport the way they would it. Kentucky and Duke and Carolina in Kansas were all good like that is your beacon to the entire country like that's what people latch onto after the Super Bowl, and unfortunately, the year like this They're struggling, and as a result, the entire sport is struggling with the tournament is the coming out party for a lot of the stars in college basketball outside of the blue blood organizations, right, like we knew about Anthony Davis at Kentucky prior to them getting to the tournament because it's Kentucky because they're that big time. That's the big stage those of the bright lights and he was a big time player when you talk about a jail and Suggs People who are around college basketball people who follow college basketball. They're very familiar with it. But a lot of people this time of year are into the NFL. They might be following some other stuff coming off the holidays. They will get to know these names in the tournament. The tournament is the coming out party, remember? Myron you someone who covers it so closely and Matt someone who's so associated College basketball. You guys knew who. John Durant Woz. You guys probably knew who Dwayne Wade Woz, but the tournament is where those guys popped. That's where everyone got to know John Moran. That's where everyone got to know Dwayne Wade back in the day. That's when they became household names to an extent. So that's why I want to see Duke, UNC Kansas, Even Kentucky with that record, get him in the tournament. They can be Julio Cesar Chavez for the up and coming Oscar de La Hoya. Right. You come in there. You got the big name. I know, Duke. I know. Do you know I don't need to know that dude's not very good this year. I just know that the team that beats them is suddenly going to become a box office attraction. That's the value you bring, even in a down year, which is still a compliment. Even in a down year, you can at least be Julio Cesar Chavez, helping to prop somebody else up. There was a lot of people very upsetting. This is Game day on ESPN Radio when last week, Kentucky was playing Auburn at two o'clock, and Michigan, which was undefeated at the time was playing Minnesota two o'clock. And Kentucky. Auber was on ESPN and Michigan. Minnesota was on ESPN to a lot of people were complaining. And then the writings came out. Guess what? The Kentucky Garber game far out rated the Michigan Minnesota like that's just how it is. And what's gonna be difficult Mind for the sport this year? Kentucky will not make the tournament. Absent some miracle. Duke may not, Then you look at your best players, Jalen Suggs and Gonzago will be There will be the number one overall seed Cade Cunningham could be the number one overall pick in the draft. He's not gonna make the tournament. Most likely. Luke Garza might be the second best player, but he's not going to. He has no real problem. He's gonna play in the pros, but he won't be a big time pro players in Iowa I think the best names in college basketball. No one has seen him play and these air dudes that normal will be the best draft picks. And the biggest issue the sport has had is that these great players did not go to the big programs this year, and that I think caused a lot of the issue. Everything you're saying is true, man. So then the follow up question. College basketball. What are you going to do? Going forward? How are you going to captivate the attention of the country? Well and and that's the thing that was The car's best past evolved in an era when guys are going to the D League guys going overseas guys aren't picking the top programs. What are you going to do to generate the attraction to this sport before the you know, Super Bowl? Like, what you gonna do to introduce these people? Because the interesting thing is, Yeah. You might find a job. Moran in the tournament, you might find an Anthony Davis of the tournament. But you're getting glimpses of those guys throughout the season. There are big games on TV big moments. And.

He was a wrapper for the group. Houdini which was big in the eighties. I would say yes. I like houdini. They have a couple of good hits. You've never heard of friends. How many of us have them friends once. We can't depend on friendship and we depend on hidden teller. We're really influenced by them. I think they based their whole magical actor on the rap group. Houdini i say no gary scott. You guys know. I've heard them. I know them also freaks come out at night. Yeah freaks come out at night. Freaks come out at night reeks. Come freaks come out come out at night. He come out at night. Come out. I had to google it real quick to be sure i wasn't missing anything just a couple of. Oh yeah they don't have that many hits. I'm not gonna use an exemption say no how about and this one i think only luis perez garcia would vote for frankie. Randall was a boxer. Hollywood frankie goes to hollywood relax. Don't do it when you want to come relax. Don't do it when you wanna come. The only reason i put him in is because he was the first person to beat. Julio cesar chavez when julio cesar chavez was eighty nine and one which i think is a pretty significant deal consulate julio cesar chavez suffering his first loss ever three four frankie the search atlanta now become a reality who is the tied to for no whitaker and that fight. I actually went to that. Wasn't san antonio at the alamodome. i was actually at. That was a bad draw. Should they have given the win now. Actually whitaker probably want. That was actually a majority decision. Draw draw you could see the reaction of sweetpea. Whitaker can fully it. I can't either. I think the only reason they gave it to them is because there would have been a riot if whitaker had actually wants so. Are you saying that. The san antonio crowd was heavily slanted toward julio cesar. I'm trying to go out on a limb and say that the crowd was very pro-chavez that night. I'm not gonna fight too hard but thought that accomplishment was pretty significant. let me ask you. This is buster. Douglas count when he dies. He's not yes he will definitely. He's the author of the greatest upset in boxing history. I will use an exemption on bus all right. How about casey jones. Nba hall of famer coached the celtics during their eighties.
