"Of the answers and do it all for them, so my typical heretic member as someone who just wants to dive in and do the work, and they know that it's not going to be this quick. Fix The silver. Silver bullet they want to do the work. And when they do the work, we see the results in us, and we're about genres it. I should is only wedding or only portrait photographers. It's portrait and wedding photographers mainly so I do have some otographer videographers who offered different services, but there are not so many of them in the membership is very much geared towards portrait photographers and wedding photographers, but within the portrait genre were took embiid voire pets, families headshots personal branding the whole lot. got. When someone comes in to your membership or your talking to them about their business. Do you guide them down a certain? Do you want them to work on their website? I to work on FACEBOOK ADS TO RUN GOOGLE AD words to fix up their email marketing. Is there a formula? That's a good question. No, there is not so I do have a roadmap inside the membership, and it's a suggested roadmap these days so used to be that people had to go through this certain number of courses before they could dive into the rest. Rest of the membership, but what I've realized is that I have all these different types of learners and people who come in at different stages, so there is a suggested roadmap inside the membership, but actually what it's more about now is, it's not diving straight into your website. It's not diving straight into facebook ads because there's so much stuff that has to happen before that and the stuff that happens before that is actually what I think is the most important transformational stuff, and that is who you actually are as a business person. Person and as a photographer and who you genuinely want to work with so that you can get that message, ultra ultra clear and that when you do send marketing, so you know when you do dive into the courses that talk you through how to create amazing facebook ads, and how to create a high converting website that when you do that, you are uncertain yourself throughout the whole thing is dripping with your personality and an your character and your values because I think now in this saturated market that that's what's going to differentiate you. You. If you have all these different photographers to choose Brom, then it's most likely that you're going to make your decision. Especially, if the pricing is similar ash, if the style to you as similar Esh, but the thing that's going to make you reach out to one instead of the other is the connection you feel to them to their personality whether they seem like they're going to be fun to hang out with. You know whether you have these things in common, and that's what's going to differentiate you now, so it's about getting. Into Your Business and then to your marketing messages, and that's really where we start in tugs and business. It's almost like self discovery of you, and making sure you put that into all of your marketing. Because that's the problem. Isn't that you knew who you are, and you know who you want to work with. But when it comes to pitching it down into your marketing, ends up signing little genetic, and just like your competitors, so we start their Saudi. That was a really long winded answer. Will it brings me to I think important questions, and that is what happens to the photographer that comes to you and Nice I. Just not that interesting like I. Don't have that Quirky. He Fund personality that so many of these other popular photographers have I'm I'm just me. I love this question. I love this question and it happens all the time. You've just nailed. It completely happens all the time you know in that same word. They use a law quirky I'm just not quirky. I'm not funny I. don't write in the engaging way, and that is absolutely not the point, a tall and it's about then seeing case. Do you really believe that all of these clients out? There are looking for this quirky extroverted photographer because there are no. No you know what there are so many introverted clients who will shy away from the talker for like that. They think you know I. Want to work with someone like that. Because that's saw me and they're looking for a photographer just like you. So if you're introverted, for example, you should absolutely embrace that one hundred percent, and you should talk about it in your social media. You should talk about in your blog posts. You should talk. Talk about you know the books that you love to read and what you like to do, walking in nature, and all these things because there are people out there who will connect without on such a deep level, and that's where you differentiate yourself just by being you not by trying I think there are a lot of photographers now who are trying to portray this quirky extroverted funny version of themselves, and it's just the wrong way to. To go because when your clients meet you, they'll very quickly see that. You're not like that you have to be aligned. Your personality has to be aligned with your marketing, and there are lots and lots of amazing business people there who are not corky and Toledo's and extroverted they are the very opposite, and actually introverts tend to be more successful is that right is a proof of that when they embrace it only when the embrace it. Leads me to my second question in response to what you said about these photographers and embracing the. Personality whatever it may, you said you WANNA appeal to your perfect client and speak to your perfect client, but for photographers isn't the perfect client any client the books. I would say no. I think that I'm going to see in the early days. That I is an IT. Depends can't question so I'm going to say no, but in the early days I think there's nothing wrong with saying yes, to everyone who books and wanting to work with anyone who books, because that's how you Laron, isn't it? And that's how you grow your business. You get as much work as you possibly can. So I am the last person.

"And just visual visually, just beautiful. Just gorgeous soaked beauty Myrtle Lucci. Bertolucci? I want to mention nNcholas room. Yeah. That's somebody. I don't have. I don't think I've got a complete rogue repertoire, did you see don't look. Now. What arch I'm afraid? I don't think I have don't look now is also from that same period. I think. Seventy three and it stars Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, and they go to Venice, and it is in the aftermath of the death of a child. And so they are grieving, and there's a figure of of a of a of a small woman in a red raincoat who toward the end of it commits terrible violence, and the don't look now has one of the most profound sex scenes lovemaking scenes ever, you know, and the the Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland were a couple them. And the question has always been where they really actually having sex on. That was always the question with Brando Schneider too. It was the rumors the sex had been real were quote very flattering. Because that meant people felt the film was thin IQ. But he never never went beyond. The also did the man who felled David Bowie. Still can't believe is not with us. I still can't believe that. I know just even seeing Boase pictures with rogue made me sad. It's just more and more as I get older. And the clock is ticking the films of the seventies. Just really of. Yeah. That was a special role. It was it was it's a special decade. We talked about William Goldman passed away. And you know, he was a king at at making this the sort of mid level yet movie that we don't have that you know, that we get an independent cinema. Not like we used to get. That's the that's the gold standard the golden standard. I should say God bless, shall we mentioned. Ricky, Jay definitely gonna. I was so shocked. You know, Tony talked about on his show of going to see him somewhere here in DC. I think it was the Rena stage did Ricky Jay and his fifty two assistance in and it was only him and Decca car. Tony said, it was simply one of the most amazing things he has ever seen. And and listen, I anything Ricky Jay was in. It didn't matter. What movie you always noticed him? He and every movie David mammoth, and do you guys? Remember, the movie heist with Gene Hackman? Yeah. Yeah. It's and he's he's got. He's just got. He's Ricky Jay was just fantastic house of games. Oh, yeah. See I still think of him as the boom guy in boogie nights. Right. Even that, which was which was brilliant. Perfect. He was never he was never going to be the leading guy. But he was the perfect guy. Yeah. Used to glue a character. Yeah. I know. And and and I felt like I love to talk to him because he's that character. You'll like, yeah. And you know, that he is did you ever interview him? I tried to set up an interview with him when he was in town do something and it was either at arena stage or the studio theatre. And they said, okay, he'll do an interview. But he won't do any magic. Yeah. Okay. And I said, well, and you know, and I thought well. You know, candy do a little little no he won't do any magic. I can you know, though, I understand getting that better better. I respect. Yeah. Close by the way. I heard I read in his in his bit that he taught he was on set for the natural to teach Robert Redford how to pull a coin at us because he does that trick. And he's just one of those guys apparently read about his life. And he just was this. Great loved magic love sorta like with ma'am. It loves the con artists. Mr background. No. He doesn't the thing that came out that I loved was. He said, yeah. My dad had like Colgate. In Brill cream and one day. My first trip was I switched him after that was brushing his teeth with wild rate, and he just I just again, it was one of those guys you see and you smile like. Yeah. Ricky Jay's in this movie. You know, I'm so I'm bummed beyond belief that I'd never got. Here's a quote from Ricky Jay, quote, I'd have been more easily..

Ricky Jay Gene Hackman Brando Schneider Julie Christie Myrtle Lucci Robert Redford Donald Sutherland Bertolucci William Goldman Tony David Bowie Colgate Venice Mr background David mammoth Boase one day Decca

"No it's a marketing strategy almost but its relationship marketing which is what i think what is all about in two thousand eighteen when we're all becoming a bit jaded aren't we and it's the businesses that become more human who seemed to be making it work and have longevity yeah i mean look at convert there's a reason why convert kit has really put a dent in male chimps business with the three years they've been in business yet right or would however long they've only been a short time and they're really converting competing with a company like mail chimp that's been around for over ten years doing this right yeah and and it's because of how personal they are making their services and really that differ the mail chimp in fact the pricing is is like equal yeah when you go for the pro yeah absolutely yeah so so they're not doing much different the mail chimp other than personalizing yeah everything yet right so this has been a great conversation i love this topic so much i'm a big fan of video so this is like it's like right up my alley in it's time to move into a section of the of the show where we you have the opportunity to ask a question to those listening so when you're ready fire away okay my question let's go for video since that's what we've been talking about like hugh skull i'm a massive fan of video massive fan of live video i think that in two thousand eighteen we have to embrace video and we have to even embrace live video if we want to stand differentiate ourselves from the competition so my question would be what is holding photographers back from pitting themselves they are on video.

"Absolutely yeah well there's there's certainly more likely to get it via text yeah for sure i think with the i suppose with the inquietude and i think that's we're it's going to this is a double whammy isn't it the nurturing of clients and the nurturing of leads so i think with the inquietude that come in the leads that come in that's potentially where you're going to make more money from video messages because i think with height without a doubt you convert more client you convert more leads in an in quiet easier with video than you do with just replying via email so i think the power is the most powerful element of this is with in quietness and that's probably where it's most likely to go to promotion folders so i think it's important to test these apps and and find out where this e mail is landing because what you don't want is to be sending video messages that no one ever gets to reach like you say so it's the tracking is vital without a doubt yeah yeah and i know that as far as like at least for loom they partnered with google so when you send a loom link it doesn't go into promotions and it actually gets embedded as if it's a google doc type of file who actually looks like it's part of google i don't know how they managed to pull that off but it's it's seamless limits vada.

"But it is very important and it does convert in fact i do it in my own business from my own photography business so and it is so effective yeah it's a it's a video as there's nothing more engaging than seeing somebody absent and that is and that is why we do the podcast and video even though the audio just because of the nature of podcasts audio does better gets more subscribers people don't want us to get rid of the video yeah and that's why people love a face and he loves a fatal to cut you no matter what that face looks like they love a face and pitching face to the name pitching a face to the voice and there's something about seeing someone and their mannerisms and all that stuff that helps you connect on a much deeper level than simply via email or even over the phone it's just an anew dimension isn't it yup for sure totally is so so we got the back story right now you you hypothetically you have a photography website still right you still have your own photography business and you get a lead what do you do i you reply with email or do you go right to a video and what you say i would go straight so let me give you an example one of our members ross he's a wedding photographer so he gets an quiety and on his in quietly farm he asks for you know the details of the venue the date all that stuff all that usual stuff so he will get straight onto he uses bom bom.
