Three fifty five cabriolet. What's up. i have a ridiculous house in the south fork. I have every tour. You can possibly imagine best of all kids. I am liquid so now you know what's possible. Let me tell you what's required all right. We got some good life advice follow ups at times it can feel like a community If the topics the right one and people rally around the dunk email. The amount of people have responded to that and offered up their own stories. I had a ton aside texts from guys just being like what and then. I had one friend who was like used to round up some of your stuff to set goals for yourself. Are you a psychopath. And i was like. Yeah whatever sorry so I dunno cerruti. Kyle you guys have any more thoughts on any of it. Because we had a lot we also had a lot of people chiming in to about the coaching The youth coach deal but that that's like politics that thing could veer a million different directions were dunk. I was pretty succinct Boasts people were like. There's no way that got dunks. Here's my story. I don't know if you guys have more on that. Because i have one final eggs i like the i didn't if anybody said more than one sentence on it. I didn't look anything. But i did like. It was sort of like an america votes thing where it was like. I think he dunked most people think that he didn't dunk so just kind of didn't read it into anymore. That if there was another sentence in there. I kind of turn my brain off. But i just kinda liked like even on your part like i'll look on on your pods at you post on twitter to see if i miss it at it and i have like a little. You know thing in my stomach. Like oh fucking kyle so i look and i see even on past podcast. That guy definitely dunked. It's like kind of they. were spamming. Some of your your twitter posts. That i've been following along that way. Cerruti i feel like i would bet non healthy amount of money that that guy could not dunk and would have been very comfortable with it. And that's where i'll i'll be back. But then if people were actually i did i did see a lot of twitter sort of mentioned about your lifting strategies and whether or not that was actually genius or just kind of like a random thing so i don't know maybe we should start doing that. Yeah because i mean. I could have been called out in a different way which is fine. I mean at times I can't be the coolest guy ever every single podcast Which i know it's not certainly not goal But i i don't know i'll sometimes lets you guys in and it was some weird thing i you know. I really wish. I hadn't told anybody. I was trying to be a writer But i think i may have subconsciously told everybody because i was like well now you have no choice but to succeed and i'll admit i i kind of like maybe i should just shut up about it but i think i did it to to motivate myself a little bit. I also think. I did it too so that people that were in the industry that i had made contacts with maybe like. Oh hey you know. Our should the word doing us yet. Get the word out. So i could probably do a better job with that. I don't it's honestly turned into this long running joke now. People don't even think it's real. And it's just a joke. And i and i went on with adnan and talked about it a bunch but i kind of like all right. You know what until you're actually doing something that's really exciting. You really proud of Would probably just shut the fuck up about it at this point. So maybe that's a statement. Were issuing a statement now andrea ranked career okay Let's let's get to this because this is a really good one. I found myself in the same situation as dunk guy. Twenty six years old six one one sixty soaking wet surprisingly athletic ozzy white yup. Okay me and my three best friends. Were out drinking watching the football game in a kicker mr kick from thirty three five yards. I made the comment that i could make the kick to which one of my friends said no chance. We went back and forth. Rwandan agreed on hundred are bet that i could make three of five from thirty five yards prior the bet. I want to test it out so solo. I go out and buy a bunch of football's or excuse me one football In the leaning kick holding thing and went out to a pop type field near where i live again is twenty six year old by himself on a field kicking field goals. I i think that's a mirror. That's america right. There is what that is I started twenty five yards. Not really a problem is you. Don't have to put a like into it. I went back to thirty five. Ah couldn't make any dejected. I headed home. But when i got out of the car i couldn't lift my kicking foot. The toa drag across the ground. When i tried to take a step. I call my doctor. And he diagnosed drop foot prescribed a ton of advil instead. I probably shouldn't do whatever i was doing on. That's another thing you'll notice to twenty six. I'm surprised you get immediate. Drop foot. But i threw a baseball Few months ago and of course you know grew up throwing you know throwing a baseball pitched you know a little.

"I think it's ridiculous to say gunner a chef T's taking over I do think that's ridiculous. But I I do think it's fair to recognize he's hit certain benchmarks that are impressive and he's kind of getting to where it was Edelman stayed on the roster initially as a punt returner if he couldn't return punts. He never would have made it there was five years before he got a main role in the offense Gunner raszewski led the NFL in punt-return average last year in Wilson all pro team. So that that's the quickest feel. I'm just saying that so far the same boxes have been checked that could end this year and Gunners peaked and that's it. I just want to point out that the same box is hacked. Check to this big hole Ki Marzi the slot receiver like he grabs Jacoby Myers. And then those are my two issues for Gunnar right. Now. The first one I wanted to go over quickly was that I actually reviewed Gunther's is a little bit of a different receiver than Julian Edelman. He is somebody that every single time out in training camp that we've seen him or the preseason. He is actually fared much better playing on the outside than in the slot with somebody that wins more on a vertical route tree than on a quick underneath Juke series type of Route tree tatelman quite of evolved over the years and became a little bit more of an intermediate filled stretcher as well. You'll go back across the field on crossers and over routes and things like that, but eventually Gunner oshetski I think needs to show me a little bit more change of Direction on a diet right is this is he truly that type of guy he kind of strikes me as a little bit more of like a build up speed type of player guy wants to get up the field quickly. Is he ever going to develop that the other thing is we saw Julian Edelman wage? Started covering the team Alex. He would be out there what three hours four hours before the kick-off doing the one-handed catches and in the lighthouse end zone, right? Yeah wage. You need to be up at 5 a.m. Every single morning to get to get from where Julian Edelman was to We're Gonna Roll schefsky was too were Edelman ended up right you need to have that type of work ethic. Type of competitive nature. And if you don't have that then he is test too much ground to cover to get there just going through percent. He has Julian Edelman build himself to NFL super stardom, right? I don't know that anybody else has done that and that's part of what makes impressive. He I mean he did that with his own will and that was it it was in similar..

Tom Brady Salutes Julian Edelman on Retirement

"New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman retired yesterday. Tom Brady paid tribute. I've always said Will go until the wheels come off, and they finally have fallen off. Top 10 players signed by Patriots

"Talk about the Patriots. The the Patriots grabbed everybody's attention by making move after move after move after move. Like we're watching it over agency going off. How many people are going to bring in its kind of unbelievable how many starters they've added? And so I count they added ten players that I think are very very significant to their team next year. In fact, I would say pretty clearly the Patriots are back and a lot of people saw this coming, you know, but they are going to be a force in the NFL next year here is my list my nerdy list of the ten players the top players. They added that are very significant to their roster next year. The first two are massive. It will reshape the entire Patriots offense. They added two tight ends Johnny Smith and Ed Hunter Henry. To Johnny Smith signed from Tennessee. He signed a four year deal worth up to fifty million dollars. That's Thirty one point two five million dollars guaranteed and he's only twenty-four years old. So that's Monday. That's a really gigantic Marquis franchise player. He cited the reason why it came to New England is cuz he loves Bill Belichick. He's got great respect for him. And I want to point out of all the everybody I'm about to talk about these shows to be in New England Bill Belichick got his kind of guys who sought out New England wanted to be there and wanted to work hard and win a Superbowl. I think it matters. It's very very exciting. These are not with Josh Gordon's or what's the other example Phillip Dorsett who they made a move for and they're not really like that. You think they fit they don't work out know. These are guys who all chose to be in New England who wanted to win a Superbowl. I really want to win a Superbowl. These guys went out of their way to be New England now the other tight and they brought in With twenty-six-year-old tight end Hunter Henry from the LA Chargers got a three-year deal twenty-five million dollars guaranteed. It's worth up to thirty seven point five million dollars total if he meets all those incentives. They also added two wide receivers the Patriots brought in Nelson agholor to a you got a two year twenty six million dollar contract East twelve years old. Now a lot of people do not like this move and I I get it Nelson agholor is not the most flashy player in the NFL but I think if it's very well with Cam Newton, he's good at he's not going up and getting the ball. He's got good hands did some stuff of the Raiders that I think deserves your attention go watch what he did with the Raiders and I just I'm like, huh a lot of good plays. Okay. I understand. I see the potential Bill Belichick and the Patriots would see and Nelson agholor go will give the guy a good contract, especially considering the Patriots have like our desolate at wide receiver. They need help. They got home. Who is awesome but he can't do everything by himself from the slot. They have n'keal Harry who n'keal Harry. I I think he's going to pop. I think he's going to progress and keep getting better. But she's not a number one right now. So on top of the page where it's also added Kendrick Bourne guy from my local area actually went to Eastern Washington University 25 years old. He's coming from the San Francisco 49ers. He got a three year deal worth twenty two point five million dollars. Now another thing the Patriots did they also added they signed Center Ted carriages and they traded for tackle Trent Brown. So this is the new Patriots offense right now. They've receivers Nelson agholor, Julian Edelman Kendrick born and kill hair is its own nuclear Aguilera. I'm doing my best. It's a hard game to say. They also have Sony Michelle running backs for any receivers Sony Michelle at running back and improved offensive line. Cam Newton at quarterback who I get why people doubt Cam? He's a former NFL MVP and with when you put cams Talent with a lot of weapons including two outstanding tight ends Hunter Henry Smith, right man. I'll tell you what I look at the Patriots offense and think two things immediately number one. Everything is going to run through their brand new Titans. Their entire offense now is probably going to drive down the seams of the field right up the middle. They're going to use our tents heavily lot of play-action again. I am scheme wise things will look a lot like the page words did back in the day when they had drunk and Aaron Hernandez together to start tight ends. Now number two. I feel very very confident with Cam Newton as the Patriots quarterback and it surprised me but I want to remind you that two years ago. Tom Brady was the page word starting quarterback and did basically nothing and the reason was there were no weapons there. He kept running into the same brick wall. His receivers weren't good enough. So, how can I think you and I would both agree. I like Cam Newton Tom Brady's a better quarterback than Cam Newton. So my point is if Tom Brady couldn't make it work with New England's roster. How was Cam Newton supposed to succeed? He was set up to fail will now Cam Newton's being given weapons is being set up to do. Well, I'm excited man. He's a former NFL MVP, he's hungry. I I personally believe Cam Newton's going to have an awesome year and it really is going to make extended one-year deal with like it was like three and a half million dollars with a bunch of incentives. I honestly think we're gonna look back at his contract at the end of next year and go. Can you believe the deal they got on Camden he played so well for no money. I really think he's he's a guy who can didn't play well enough wage. Last year to earn a new gigantic contract. So he's going to have to show what he can do this year and maybe earn more money next year but I think cam is poised to do very very well and make a lot of money and win a lot of games in New England

Free Agency 2021: Biggest Winners and Losers From Day One

"Who's the biggest winner from day. One the biggest winner from day one already told you it was. It was a my intro. You're listening great question. Jonnu smith out. It's cam newton. Well that depends kenyans a starter for sixteen games. That's right that's true. It's yeah okay. Potentially find jonah smith. Donald smith big contract with the patriots They invest heavily in him. You like this for him i do. I think you know Obviously the quarterback is the concern. But this is the scenario especially with the move that they made that we look for in fantasy as tight end could be the leader of the pack in terms of targets and opportunities and so look cam was not good in twenty twenty. If cam does start sixteen games in two thousand twenty. One greg olsen. During a five year stretch was pretty awesome of the top tier tight ends of the guys that we did. We talk about what he was in the next group you know. And so from twenty two thousand twenty sixteen. Greg olsen averaged a hundred eighteen targets a season seventy seven catches Decide one thousand yards and five times. Johnny could do that. One season estimate put them right around a top five tight end. Greg olsen was great and not only was he great but we also saw from cam newton in that stretch that he could give you greg olsen. Who could finish as a top eight tight in five straight seasons and give you a number to wide receiver in four of those five seasons three or four of those five seasons whether it was. Steve smith or kelvin. Benjamin and even ted ginn one year. So that's interesting. I'll afforded talking about that on the show tomorrow on the tuesday morning show and then of course we'll have a whole bunch of more news items to react to. Hopefully we'll get some kenny golladay news at some point on tuesday or maybe it'll happen later on monday night as record this at about nine fifteen eastern. Who's the biggest loser from day. One the biggest loser from day one on asking these questions before. I told you that we were starting with these egypt's before the show The biggest guys they ryan tannehill johnny smith and Us down smith and corey davis They're going to have to struggle to replace those guys Davis probably more. So the jonah just from the standpoint of what he was last year with his production number two receiver sixty five catches nine hundred plus yards and five touchdowns. So we'll see what they do in in in that in that regard but i think Tannehill you know. I had him as the number eleven quarterback. I dropped in the thirteen after today. Just because i think it was close between in my mind. Joe burrow and tom brady put them behind both those guys. Okay how 'bout jameis winston ryan tannehill right now. It's soom jameis winston as the starter. I still go. i think it'd be messy. You know. I can't situation we're taking those not blaming So i was hoping james would go someplace else and tastes hill. Would still be the guy with maybe a rookie or somebody. Young that they could groom continued. Just gonna to get you know too much of the mill package of james as the starter and if as milton starter. Davis is gonna play very much so it just feels like it be messy situation oil. Who do you like better. Corey davis with the jets nelson agholor with the patriots. I think adler is going to be bad. I don't trust the situation. You know i mean he. He had so many big. Plays for the raiders last year and he was so good for derek carr but he did that on eighty two targets. I don't think he gets eighty two targets with the patriots. He's going to do the same thing. So with what cam does running the ball with what jonah smith brings to the table with. What the rest of the receiving corps will look like if julian edelman on the team if he's healthy Nagla is going to be A guy that's not on many fantasy rosters middle of the season whereas corey davis could be the best receiver for the jets. I don't know if that's going to be the case. But i would take davis by far over niagara.

Is This the End for Julian Edelman?

"To jump in there for a second about Edelman them cuz Here's my thought. Does it tell us about his future if he comes back to you like, you know, I'm kind of looking at this and wondering well, wait a minute if if Edelman comes back for the offer a couple of games in a losing season. Does that mean he's going to walk does that mean this is it and he just want he knows his knee as bad. It's bone on bone. He got the surgery or whatever. He got done going back several weeks ago. So he wants to go out playing and he's saying to himself, you know, I'm going to be thirty-five this knee is shredded just to go out there, you know one or two more times I could see it makes them because Greg if I'm the Patriots I have absolutely zero reason to play Julian Edelman in these games if he's coming back next year. Yeah. It's a look Nick. It's a valid point by you. You know, I I think it's it's it's something that that will be one of the things that we're watching here down the stretch. I mean, you know, I understand Bill Belichick's Mantra about, you know, trying to watch every game and I'm sure he wants to Thailand reform most winning seasons and you know, all that stuff but you know, what is the what what would be the point of playing Julian Edelman in these kind of these last three games? I mean, I hope he's not out there on Sunday, you know most of the time when these guys that they've started the clock. I don't I don't know if any of them have returned for that immediate game. It's normally been like get your feet wet. Yeah with practice then we'll see how it goes rest over the weekend, then we'll attack it and then you'll be back for the last two games or what-have-you, you know barring some sort of, you know win in Miami and also a bunch of losses or something like that where they're not eliminated this weekend. Yeah. I just I don't understand the point of playing Edelman and I think I think you're right. I think it off. Mark to think if he does come back for these last couple of games and who knows maybe, you know part of the thing with these contracts with especially with the Patriots is a lot of money is tied into per game roster bonuses and things like that. So maybe he wants has his money and but yeah, if he comes back and plays into games when the Patriots are officially eliminated from the postseason you had to think is this is he doing it just to sort of wave to the fans who won't be in the crowd at the stadium which will be now that now that I set it out loud, that would be kind of a sad way for Julian. I'd be awful. Yeah, actually that just bummed me out a little bit actually saying that and imagining Julian Edelman playing his last game for the Patriots and a game where it doesn't matter off against the Jets. In front of no one like all right. Now I just decided just talking about it. I don't want that to happen. So now now now I've also now all of a sudden I've changed too. I do not want to see him in. Anyway. Just wanted to get healthy. I wanted to come back refreshed go get a new knee in the off-season. What have you come back next year when there will be fans in the stands. We hope but yeah, I mean, I think your your read on this is exactly right and it's it's actually bumming out right now.

The Problem With Newton's Throwing Game in Rams Loss

"Version Cam Newton did we see here what he was asked to pass. Well, I thought that he saw the field decently well and I think he's making solid decisions with the football. The timing could be a little bit better and there's certain instances where I think the timing is more of a factor than others for instance the defaulted to Mere bird on the double move. The pressure really was a factor on that play and he had to slide up in the pocket to avoid the pressure. But if he doesn't have to slide up and he's able to throw them all on time and that's probably a touchdown or at least a more competitive play right instead of two guys being all over damiere Byrd at the catch point. He's behind the defense. He probably has an opportunity to catch that ball the other kind of issue that I I kind of see what the timing is on the short throws, you know, James White's production and and ability to affect the passing game has really hurt a lot because the cam and I don't need to put it all on cam. But when you see James White Run routes out of the backfield, he's the type of guy that you need to get him the ball sooner rather than later. You can't hold the ball and then throw the ball to James White the flat because of the players deserve. And to get James White one on one with somebody in the in space on the outside on the boundary, then the ball needs to get into his hands sooner than so he can read and react and make a play and make somebody Miss. So he saw that third down on the opening drive where they ended up having to go for it on fourth down cam just Waits an extra tick. It's just an extra tickets literally half a beat and because of that half a bead by the time James White catches the ball game turns upfield the DB is right on right and if he's able to get the ball out just a little bit quicker than James White has some time 15-20 yard game, right. He has some time to shake somebody and and eluded tackle or Thursday through the angle or whatever the case may be. So those are the little things that you see with cans timing and the timing of the entire operation that when you only throw the ball nineteen times and you start to count, you know, okay, you have the Mist default and your bird and there was a Crossing route to Jacobi Myers. That was a really tough throw that came just missed by like an inch or two and you have to make that pass because then you have to make the double dog. Work with bird and you have to get James White the ball sooner in the flat and these little things these nitpicks truly. They are nitpicks folks. We you go watch other quarterback play and it's not it's not all sunshine and rainbows for the other 31 teams either and I think we get too caught up in the minutiae of where is his Fleet and you know, his shoulders are flying open as hips are doing that and he's not pointing towards his Target and this that and the other thing I think it's too much conversations about those little things and not enough conversations about the big picture things, which is really just timing and kind of understanding what you know, your answers are that kind of stuff that I think is more important probably than all the little manush has like the throwing mechanics and things like that. Yeah, and we talked about this last week just under rated quarterback skill off of of being a dink-and-dunk quarterback. It's it's it's it's there's such negative connotations behind it. But the the Precision that it takes and the timing chain, And the placement all of those things is the difference between 4 yard losses and fifteen yard gains sometimes and those are big plays potentially if you hit them right and and being able to do that within the rhythm of this office is difficult seeing obviously James White be neutralized because there's not a lot of Playmakers on this team and he is one so finding a way to get him going. I think that really goes hand-in-hand with Cam being able to do this off

Patriots Special Teams Help Shut Out Los Angeles

"Couple of things from this game. I wanted to highlight the Special Teams. I will say I know a lot of people are looking at the Chargers and saying well the Chargers are terrible and that's true. But let's not forget Gunner olszewski should have had a touchdown against the Cardinals as well the week before if it was just Blindside block whether it was a legit call or not, you know, hey, that's what happened and it would have been a touchdown. So now that's two straight weeks that we've seen Gunner olszewski have three really good punt returns. I do think that means something because how many years did we sit around and say man, can they just find somebody other than Julian Edelman that could first field upon and then second make a play and I thought the second returned by Gunnar olszewski. It was a great job by him. You know, I do think if you get a little nerdish inside of what happened the touchdown return that's because the Patriots play games with the Chargers. They had, you know, they brought what looked like it was going off. And all blocked punt and that was to bring the Gunners in and because the Gunners came in on that formation thinking that the Patriots were going to try to block the punt. They couldn't get down field in time to get to Gunner Gunner gets a touchdown the second return that Gunner had that was really good. That was Gunner, you know setting up his blocks the hesitation move being patient. So I do think there's something that you can take from it. Are you going to get touchdowns every week? Of course not but if somebody can actually feel pumped consistently in maybe give this offense better field position Greg that's huge because we know this offense is not been consistent. So if you can get some extra yardage from a special teams, especially on the punt unit. I do think that means something

Boston - Julian Edelman Placed On COVID-19 List By New England Patriots

"Edelman. Not the news because of his knee issue but now because of coping nineteen. I think his knee was a bit of the conversation and bill belichick was talking about him and saying that he was headed in the right direction He wouldn't rule out a return and he sounded optimistic. That you know just knowing delman as well as he does at this guy is really one of the toughest players on their team and he expected that he he definitely gave a hint that he would be back and it was later in the day that we found out that he was added to the reserve. Covid nineteen list so that just complicates the picture years that i would say feel pretty comfortable and i don't know how many how many people are still. He's only rostered and thirty. Four percent of leaks has elements. So if you're holding onto him. I'm guessing he's in your ira slot the patriots. Leave friday for los angeles. They play back to back games. Chargers and rams the rams game on thursday night game. So they're just they're staying. Ucla for the week like either the earliest we see. Join them in. Is the back side of that. So when they return and what would be thirty four week fifteen i think. The patriots closed with the every. Afc team to finish off the season. I think that would be the earliest you'd see back at the at the very end so and fantasy wise guys like don't think he needs to be added right now. We'll see in the next couple just imagined this like you'd have to see element in week. Fifteen acre comeback. Be play well and see. "A four game losing streak, the Patriots prepare for their Monday night match up with the New York Jets. One of the teams bright spots during the recent struggles has been wide receiver Jacoby Meyers. He's been able to snag 10 catches over his last two games after receiving more playing time due to the injuries of wide receivers Julian Edelman and Mikael Harry. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel spoke today about Myers. Always ready to go, You know, always ready to take advantage of the opportunities that she's given. And I thoughtyou Kobe did a nice job on Sunday and being ready to go. She's you know. Tom vs. Team: Why Brady is Moving On

"Well amidst everything happening in the world. Right now Tom Brady singlehandedly. Wrestle control of the new cycle and in the process basically gave us in sports media a miniature stimulus package by announcing that. He's leaving the New England patriots. Seth you have covered Brady forever. You've been to his house. You've covered this team for a while. What was your initial reaction to today's news? I think it's been in the works for a long time. I think it's been in the works since training camp and I think that people just didn't want to believe it New England fans didn't want to believe it some media members didn't believe it. Even people close to Tom. Brady didn't want to believe it. Even the people who did believe it in some ways didn't WanNa believe it and yet here we are I should note here that all season long says McCain has been texting me. I think this happened. I think this is going to happen. And I've written back really come on really stuff so you were right and here. We are and as you mentioned not. Everything's been roses in New England for quite a while now and we'll get to that but until I think this season. It didn't seem realistic to a lot of people that he would actually leave. So let's go back to the beginning of the year. When did that start change? Well I think that he almost left training camp because he was so frustrated about the contract negotiations that were going on with the Patriots for years. Now he is wanted a commitment and he has said with every ounce of sincerity that he wants to play until he's forty five years old and I think there's a part of him that felt like he had earned that commitment from the New England patriots but in lieu of that. He just wanted clarity. If you don't want me here fine I'll move on but you have to let me know and in the fall of eighteen. He signed what was termed at the time. As a two year extension was not an extension it was essentially five million dollars in bonuses that he never hit and then this year he entered the year as fifteen million dollar quarterback on the books which is astounding in August. He and his camp were in negotiations with the Patriots again. They were not interested in committing beyond a year to him and again reportedly he almost left training camp because he was so frustrated about it but when he finally did commit to playing and sign the deal he said all along that he was just an employee there. I show up and do my job. I'm an employee like everyone else. I'M GONNA show this week to do the best. I can do a quarterback when he said I'm just an employee here that was a little bit different and everybody always knew that even though Tom Brady could say he was a player just a player. Everyone knew that he was Tom Brady. Everyone knew that he could talk to. Robert Kraft whenever he wanted to. Everybody knew he go to Robert. Kraft's house whenever he wanted to so. It was always a little ridiculous that he would say that. I find your point about him saying. I'm just an employ really interesting because everybody knows that bill belichick is fairly ruthless. Really when it comes to you know how he manages personnel in his job is GM. He will move on from a star a legend right away but it was always the assumption. Tom Brady was above that he was not just an employee. He wasn't just any player to ballot. Check do you think that changed at some point recently or do you think that's always been the case? I think it's always been the case but I think what changed was Tom's perspective. I think the assumption was that it was Bella. Check who would be willing to move on from Brady and cut or trade him. Even though we all knew that Robert Kraft was never gonNa let him cut or trade. Tom Brady unless things got so bad that he had no choice to do it. I think there was always the presumption that Tom Brady wanted to retire a Patriot and again the past couple of years. There's been a lot of turmoil in the building. Twenty years is a long time to spend working so closely with a ruthlessly driven coach like bill. Belichick there's one assistant who told me working one year with bill. We'll take a year off your life and Tom's been in that system for a long time and he's tired he wants to do something new. I think that's were Brady. Decided to take control of his story and changed things Brady starts talking about himself as an employee and I think this sense of unease sets in did that persist throughout the twenty nine thousand nine season. He's a professional bill. Belichick said professional once. They're they're they're going to do everything they can to win every week but the season for the Patriots was weird season. It was a weird season because their offense didn't pull its weight for the entire year and that's very rare especially the last half of Brady's career with the patriots as they become they become so much of a pass. Heavy offense dominated team you know. Obviously they had Antonio Brown pretty was very excited to play with him. They light up the dolphins with Brown in the lineup. Antonio Brown had been accused of sexual assault then. A sports illustrated article comes out detailing. All kinds of new allegations and Robert Kraft who says he doesn't involve himself in personnel and football decisions makes a decision organizationally that they're gonNA move on from him. Brady was very upset about that and I think bill belichick was upset about it too. They wanted to see what the offense could do with Brown and so I think that's one of those sort of hidden moments from the season that I think ends up becoming a bigger deal than it was because after that the New England Patriots is here without Rob Gronkowski. Just couldn't get a receiver as open as they were accustomed to in the past. And so the offense just didn't play very well into remember at one point in the season. It looks like the Patriots were. They were talking about going undefeated again and then they lose to Miami in the last game of the season at home and then they come out against the titans in the in the wildcard round of the playoffs. The Patriots were beaten up for most of the game and yet late in the game. The Patriots got the ball back and it just looked like they were going to recapture the magic. The magic that were so accustomed to seeing from Tom Brady. He hit a pass for about twenty yards. Got a little bit of breathing room and then the drive just stalled and on second down Brady threw outside of Julian Edelman white behind Brady Bunch. Before it was an out route join Dorset Britain dropped back. It was a route two oldest football. It's a route that these guys have run so many times over the years short set walks in on the side at the forty five yard line turning to run an element dropped the ball and even though that's not when the game ended it felt like the game ended right there. You could feel the air. Go Out of the stadium. You could feel the wind. Go out the New England patriots sideline it just felt that after twenty years after all those super bowls after winning and losing some of the greatest games in NFL history. This run was over. That's the way it felt to me. Tennessee titans have come into foxborough and defeated. Tom Brady and the pats twenty to thirteen in his wildcard. Rob You were there. What was brady like in the aftermath? I've seen Tom Brady. After a lot of losses I've seen him after a lot of season ending losses. He looks physically ill. After losing a game that ends their season but against the titans after losing game ended their season this year. He seemed different. Usually Tom waits a long time. The game to come to the podium and granted the game ended late but he came out of the locker room like a hurricane and he got to the podium and was in no rush to leave. He sat he chatted. There's nobody who had a better career I would say to me. I just being with them so I'm very blessed and I don't know what the future looks like so I'm not going to predict it so I wish you'd want tonight and We should done a lot of things better over the course season but we just tend to get the job done. It was just a different vibe that he put out there that I've ever seen before and when he left and he walked out. He just had a vibe that he was over it he was done.

"Fifty-seven the Julian Edelman hall of fame take was made by Nate Burleson who we see on good morning football, the time who's a Ed part of CBS pre-game show as well. Galaxy brain take gronk to me like we talk more about gronk place as an all time or Julian Edelman is a great receiver Julian Ataman what he has made of himself in his career with his skill set. Obviously where he came from as a seventh round draft pick all these different things are deserving of praise, but not deserving of a gold jacket. You wanna talk about rob gronkowski? Tony Gonzales, just went into the hall of fame as a first ballot hall of Famer tight end, rob gronkowski. You do the exact same the conversation. I wanna have gronk is is he is he the greatest tight end never play football. That to me is the much more compelling conversation and one based on a little bit more, logic and reason just because of. What gronk has accomplished touchdown wise thousand yard receiving season as a blocker to which we tend to undervalue especially now from the tight end position as far as a guy that can do both. And has that skill set? Again, listening to this today, I'm pretty baffled. John FOX are ESPN NFL analyst and former head coach he believes it will happen when you look at the big moments in people go back, and when they start talking about voting for the hall of fame, I think he will be in the hall of fame because of those big moments and what he's been able to do in that position. "Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones, best networks, no contracts. So as we mentioned. Julian Edelman, which the conversation. I expected to have Julian Edelman in all this and the conversation that we ended up having yesterday ended up being two entirely different ones. So I looked at what happened with Julian Edelman these Super Bowl MVP really the only source of meaningful offense in a game that ended thirteen to three and a game rated lower than any Super Bowl since I believe two thousand and seven which is something that we have to reckon with with our friend. Our beloved colleague, Trey wingo who unleashed a radio ran for the ages yesterday on Golic and wingo that you here in just a little bit. But the conversation around Julian I expected to have was one about performance enhancing drugs because Julian was the Super Bowl MVP and also came back from a tornado, which we know he deserves credit for but also served a four game suspension to start the year for violating the league's substance abuse policy is a pertains to performance enhancing drugs. Those things are hard to pull apart in my mind. And so I figure we would have a discussion as might happen. I saw an article by Nancy armor over at USA today. Talking about. Julian should he have even been playing in the game? And applying a lot of major league baseball sensibilities to this. But then I heard a stranger conversation happening about Julian Edelman is a hall of fame candidate in Tim Hasselbeck seem to probably be the hottest on this. When our ESPN NFL analyst says he's not buying this one bit. I don't know who started this. But Tim Hasselbeck seemed content to finish. It got thirty career touchdown receptions. Andre Reid has seventy four Hines ward. He's got eighty five Marvin Harrison has one hundred twenty eight thirty touchdowns is not getting done. And by the way, only two seasons. We've ever had over a thousand yards playing in this era only one season when you've had over one hundred catches in that offense to be us. I don't think it ends up being clubs. I last year on ESPN radio and the SPN app. Now, I'm inclined to agree Julian Edelman, I didn't believe is in the top fifty as far as receiving yards in NFL history. A number of different things maybe down the road. But again, I always go the hall of fame sort of an easy litmus test in most cases, when you think of that person's name you snap judgment think. Oh, yeah. Goal jacket can't hall of fame. No. And that's not a slight especially we talked about Julian almonds road to this point a lot yesterday. It's not a slight what this guy is accomplished. Again is a seventh round draft pick and a guy who most didn't think would make it who is basically offering to do whatever Tom Brady needed. When he first arrived in New England, like Julian Edelman is the dream of what you can accomplish through hard work, and dedication, and all these things which also brings us now to the conversation going into this weekend. So again. Hall of fame who we need to find out who the original take artist in that was yesterday because you my friend you understand what we need in this medium, but for Nancy arm over a USA today. She wrote a piece with the title opinion, Super Bowl MVP. Join shouldn't have even been playing in the game talked about the NFL's warped sense of priorities. Obviously there's going to be a Colin Kaepernick reference in here. The idea that a player protesting systemic inequality and racial injustice would not be allowed back into the NFL, but performance enhancing drugs. We sort of deal with pretty quickly in the landscape of the NFL and applied some of major league baseball sensibilities, which if you've listened to this show, golick and wingo for any period of time. You know, most of us, especially when it pertains to some of the all time greats the ones that we deal with every time major league baseball hall of fame. Voting comes around. You'll understand that I tend to look at this and say all right, while performance enhancing drugs are. Sheeting, obviously, and are something that in the games purest form, you would like to not have around you understand for better or for worse with what's at stake in modern athletics. Something that is a part of every sport. I'd imagine in some way, shape or form and at some level. And yes punishing that is a priority. It's a different priority for each leaf for the NFL. The first time around you end up serving a four-game suspension we've seen that pop up over and over again, I joke the other day it felt like we did this with Brian Cushing almost every other year for a while and Houston, and I don't say that as a knock or a slight because he would come back, and we would all want him and talk about him as one of the better linebackers in the league. And that was sort of the way a sport like football always dealt with performance enhancing drugs, and you can say they don't take it seriously enough for some people's likings. Even though I think if you were to poll, the vast majority of the NFL's audience, this would be low on their list of priorities for all the obvious reasons. It's gladiator sport people want big hits people are already complaining over the course of the season the ways we've tried to make the game safer. Rules wise have been a detriment to the product that they've come to know and love so that should tell you if you're going to actively campaign against something that would. Guys, less big less fast and less strong. You're kind of hustling backwards in NFL circles, but I would even point two major league baseball. And I went back and checked on this. I remember a piece by Tom Verduci? Who does a great job writing on major league baseball talking about the subject of major league baseball testing policy and how short of banning players for life when they test positive. He doesn't believe it's doing enough now with major league baseball. If you are suspended in the regular season for a violation of the performance enhancing, drug policy. You are not eligible for postseason play. And I think that was sort of what Nancy was hinting at in his article was that. Why should Julian Edelman be allowed to affect the most important part of the season. Well, because the NFL rules have decided that and if I'm if I'm asked to pick between one set of sensibilities or the other I will say this the NFL's at least honest with itself because major league baseball for a long time, obviously pontificates puffs out its chest with this even though as Tom pointed out in that the instances of performance enhancing, drug use in the suspensions haven't exactly gone down drastically as major league baseball has upped its testing the drugs tend to move a lot faster than our ability do test for them, but more than anything major league baseball continues to deny the most prolific part of its history in the recent era. We talked about looking company who turned a blind eye while everything was going on with Barry Bonds with Sammy Sosa with Mark Maguire because it was such a boom for the sport. And so if I'm going to side with one group in this. I'm going to side with the group. That's honest. This isn't condoning it. But this is at least understanding all right? There is a punishment that the NFL has said they believe that punishment relative to what they want to accomplish is ultimately going to be there. And if the net result is still going to be major league baseball. Someone can bring me numbers that says since major league baseball is implemented these stricter policies, but the instance of this have gone down drastically, then I'll say it's worth it. But if not then you also undermining your own postseason product and taking great players off the field and the time of year where you would want it most in.

And by the way, it's not one of those fluky stats number ones. Jerry Rice number three's Michael Irvin. And you know, he's done at seven yards at a time. And not, you know, Jerry had a lot of explosion place. Michael Irvin was very much an over the top guy adamant has been doing it seven yards at a time. And lemme even add this joy, he's done it. Again, some great defenses. He had to do it against Seattle's defense. He had to do it against Philadelphia's deepened yesterday. The Rams defense was great. So he has done it against some really really good defensive secondaries element. Now is number two. Now, he's never going to catch Jerry Rice, Jerry Rice, like a different galaxy like, you know, seven eight hundred yards more how about this. This one is fairly. The patriots Rams combined for the fewest points in the Super Bowl. Patriots thirteen is the fewest ever by a Super Bowl winning team? Currently before that it was the Miami Dolphins fourteen Rams three points tied for the fewest in a Super Bowl. The dolphins back in seventy one only scored three Sean McVeigh. That's the fewest points any Sean Vaco ch team has had three, and it wasn't just that they had three, you know, sometimes. Boxing, and football are very similar that. It's just too bad. You can't bet in a football game. Like after each team has had a series because you can generally tell very early in boxing matches by mid second round early third. What a guy is comfortable with and what a guy's not comfortable with because styles make fights yesterday. It seemed pretty obvious to me early in the game. A Todd Gurley is a non factor. That's gonna hurt the Rams and the second thing was. The Rams offensive line was absolutely to a person left tackle the right tackle being manhandled. They were losing not only as a unit they were losing personal battles for three and a half hours, and it became clear it was the first series. It was the second series. It was the third series. And that's the stuff that's hard to clean up at halftime. Like if you're just losing one on one battles that game. Didn't feel good at all from the get go for the Rams offensive front tomorrow. Peter King stops by also Eric Dickerson. Mr. Rams, probably not going to be in a great mood on our Tuesday show.

"But the reality is when you create a great system, you're not as beholden to individual talent. And that's just a remarkable stat at the really good players for the patriots. How often they are overlooked and passed over by everybody else. Also, coaching matters so much in football. Not that it doesn't matter in basketball. But you one incredibly talented player can change the course of your franchises history. You see that with LeBron? Yeah. So in football, you have to find guys who are willing to buy into what? Ever the system is because there's so many moving parts. So maybe there is something to guys who don't have the the fuck. Well, not the flexibility, but hopefully ability man, coche ability is more important. I think. Yeah. So let's go to the five notable stat from yesterday's game. The twelve best offenses in the history of the regular season. Have never won a Super Bowl. The Rams had the twelfth best offense ever. This is why a lot of said during the season we like Kansas City, but they've got to eventually make stops. And they couldn't against New England. So offenses that light up the regular season that the media myself included can fall in love with the twelve best ever. Now officially after yesterday have never won a Super Bowl. How about this since twenty eleven? Tom Brady's now seven no against quarterbacks who are twenty five and under and some of these guys are really good golf, Patrick Mahomes. Blake Bortles, Marcus mariota, Andrew. Twice Tim tebow yesterday. I think hey, prime example that both quarterbacks in the game yesterday faced real pressure the defenses and the schemes defensively were dominating the offense. But Tom's ability to adapt in the fourth quarter late and Goths inability to do that was the difference. You know, I thought yesterday both quarterbacks Tom Brady had a look late in the third quarter. He came off the field, and he gave that look the camera caught at like, fellas. There's nothing here. It's Julian Edelman and nothing else I failed on a fourth and one to gronk and there was real frustration. But I think it's that ability to adapt, and I'm not blaming them a home and the t Boz and the locks and the goff's I just think it's harder. Your library upstairs is not as great..

"Does not give you a linear path. It's not sunny every day with no traffic. And the kids slept through the night and use leaped perfectly and the eggs were just right. That's not life. That's a television show. That's a script. Life has having to overcome crap. Bad bosses average help late to work a wreck. You gotta use an apt to get there. That's what life's all about Tom Brady yesterday. I've said this about LeBron James the most impressed I've ever been with LeBron James in my life wasn't winning with the great. Kyrie Irving wasn't winning with Chris Bosh and the great delayed when LeBron James lost Kevin love, and Kyrie Irving and took the golden warriors. Golden State Warriors six games in the finals and has the best most reliable teammate. He had was Matthew Della Vedova, and he took the warriors six games with Matthew della. Vedova? Are you kidding me? There's never been a basketball player in curbing, Michael Jordan, Kareem magic Koby Larry MJ that could. Matthew, Della Vedova and got six games into the finals, overcoming stuff blows me away. That's why Hollywood makes movies about rags to riches about people that don't get perfectly. What they want yesterday the game winning drive. I read a story this morning that essentially with nine minutes to go in the game. Josh mcdaniels went to the sideline. The patriot offensive coordinator and said I'm scrapping the game plan. Nothing's working. We're going to do something. And we haven't practiced this in months we're going to huddle every play we're gonna use two tight ends in a fullback and have an empty backfield. And they huddled every play because they hadn't practiced it. And they averaged on that drive twelve yards of play the rest of the game. They average four by the way, I'm not saying last year Super Bowl wasn't impressive for Tom who threw for five hundred yards and everything worked and Danny amendola was opened. And element was open. And Chris HOGAN was open. I'm not saying that wasn't impressive. But what was impressive yesterday is the Rams virtually everything away except Julian Edelman and I love Patrick Mahomes. And I love Russell Wilson. I love Andrew luck. I love Aaron Rodgers their all amazing toes guys aren't winning a Super Bowl with Julian Edelman? Are you kidding me? Did it never deep threat? They couldn't sold her running backs. They're running game was spotty. Chris HOGAN was blanketed Brady faced interior pressure. The Rams had an unbelievable game plan and Brady with a seventy one quarterback passer rating one by the way, let me tell you the quarterbacks who have been able to win Super Bowls when they didn't play. Great Terry Bradshaw. Ninety six passing yards won a Super Bowl. John Elway fifty one point nine passer rating won a Super Bowl. Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl with a passer rating of fifty six Big Ben when a Super Bowl with a passer rating of twenty two and Tom Brady yesterday one with a seventy one what are they all have in common? Their hall of fame level players most quarterbacks in this league, Kirk cousins, guys I like Alex Smith, they need a lot of stuff to work for them to win big games. Nothing or for new. England, except Ataman. We're spoiled. We've had so many good Super Bowls in a row that if it's not a firework show, but then go to overtime if it's not thirty five thirty four who cared yesterday was all about great defensive game plans. Great defensive pass rush. Great secondary. Play a defenses were unbelievable yesterday. Wade Phillips tip of the cap. Bella check Brian Flora's tip the cap, but one player on offense was able to overcome that scrap the game plan beer a source vol using just Jillian edleman and win the Super Bowl Tom Brady. I want to shift to this. Great to have you ended on Monday really is great to have you in. I wanna talk a bit about Julian Edelman because there's five or six patriots that create the core of their team gronk and Brady and Eshelman. Devon McCorvey Dante Hightower shack Mason and not all of them are high paid most are paid below market value. They are the core of the team and I'm all for free agents, and I'm all for trades. "Thursday committed by sources, tell me it's tense right now in Laker land. How the NBA? There Super Bowl Monday. But every Monday at this time, I think it's important that when we're wrong, we admit were wrong. I created this a few years ago because I thought, you know, I always tell you what I'm right because I know that most of my listeners listen once or twice a week. So I remind you when we're right, but it's also important on Mondays to say, listen, we whiffed on a bunch of stuff too. So here we go on a Monday after the patriots. Superbowl win calling right, Colin wrong. Where Colin was right. We added a great playoff run. There were eleven playoff games. We pick ten right? That'll never happen again. I mean, I pay attention to this stuff. I care the only game. I miss was the chiefs losing to the patriots. And even that was in overtime. You know, the Super Bowl to me. And I bet just a little on it. It really turn out the way I thought I said if Todd Gurley is not a factor. And that means like ten carries not eighteen then I just don't think. The Rams can win and very early in this game late in the first quarter. I felt like girly is not a factor. And even though there wasn't any scoring. I did feel like the game was turning out to be a New England game. So eleven playoff games, we picked ten of them straight up. And we feel good about that. Where Colin was raw. I did think yesterday we were going to have a lot of offense. I was shocked at the patriots. Pass rush. Four sacks twelve quarterback hits. They devoured. The Rams offensive front. I was blown away by the patriots pass rush. And I'll tell you this. The Rams defense was money. I've never seen Tom Brady. Can't even find open running backs to throw to they reduced Tom Brady to find Julian Edelman hurry up and get rid of the ball. The game was a complete defensive classic. I did not. I thought the teams would be like last year by the end of the year. They the refs would let stuff go you'd have a lot of big plays. And it was just it was just not the case at all. Where Colin was right. I did predict that Julian Edelman would have a day. I said a non quarterback is going to win MVP here in I'll say it again whenever I read these lists of top ten players in the Super Bowl. And I saw one this week. I had element at eight. And I thought how do you not put him top ten some people don't have him top fifteen. He is so productive. He is the quickest player on the field yesterday. Now, I'm not saying the fastest. I'm not saying the tallest to the strongest. But in the NFL these days the bubble screen and the short slot pass is every bit as big as the homerun bowl. So what I'm saying is quick is now as important as fast used to be a fastly now it's quickly. And if you're not if you don't consider Edelman to be a great NFL player. I can't help you because he was turning Marcus Peters. A key to lead like real players in circle you wanted just open. He was wide open all day where Colin was raw. Jared Goff was not sharp now out of this is he just didn't have time to step in anything. But Gough looked rattled. You look nervous during the anthem on. I thought I thought he would be better here. Or simply because I didn't think he had a lot of awareness either. He got popped going out of bounds. It's like Jared. Get down get out of bounce. Listen. It's just one of those things is that these young quarterbacks. I think we're just unfair. We expect them to walk into these massive games when they don't have a Todd Gurley and they don't have Cooper cop. And we expect them just be money and less any looked a little overwhelmed and he didn't have Todd Gurley. Any didn't have time to throw any didn't have Cooper Cup after week nine and he's never quite been the same..

"Brady to throw looking middle element has twenty-five. Makes it move thirty thirty five crossing the fuel right side any shoulder down at the forty two. Lamarcus Joyner got him to the turf, but Julian Edelman is your early favorite for Super Bowl in BP. And he was the Super Bowl MVP. He had a big night. I mean, he caught a bunch of balls. He had let's see ten catches one hundred and forty one yards. He didn't get it in the end zone. But he was he was all over the place. He was Brady's go-to guy other than the plate of gronk down by the goal line. He was all over the place. What does it get mentioned key is the fact that Julian Edelman missed the first four games of the season. And he didn't miss the first four games of the season because he was injured or he was inactive or anything like that. He missed the first four games of the season because he was serving a PD suspension. He had a positive PD test or in the off season pain and mentioned that's kind of that didn't come up that right underneath the rug. They'll say anything, it's our guy. Peter whose guy I'm saying, that's what they would say the media. They are guy. We don't say anything about it. We don't want to mention it. We just want to sweep it underneath the rug is that an element thing. Or is that a football thing? Because to me, it strikes me as a football thing that for whatever reason we've decided that guys that use performance enhancing drugs in baseball or the devil that if you use PD's in baseball you are a pariah. You're never allowed to be around the sport that you've been excommunicated from all of your peers. And no one wants anything to do with you and in football. It's like, yeah. Do four games, and we'll still name your Super Bowl MVP, the double standard is really silly. But you know, I I didn't even to be honest with you. I don't even think about it too was brought to my attention because I really didn't care less. I know what he is. I know what he did. And the end of the day when performance enhancing drugs, whatever you wanna call them to me. It's I I don't stand for it. I hate it. It's the worst thing. You know, you you cheat and to get an edge. I don't care if. You say it was because you needed to rehab, or you didn't know whatever the case is athletes know, what they put in their bodies. I don't care what anybody tell you. So in the end, it's like, whatever what are you going to do about it? Now. I mean, they let him back on the field. He's performing I suppose released performer without any PD's in the system. So what do you do do you? Do you look at him less than do you think less of him because of the positive PD test? I do but that's me soon as it came up. And it was mentioned and he got suspended. I look at it and say, okay, just okay. But that's me. I mean, I don't mean it doesn't mean that. I don't like him or anything like that. It just means that I know what that is. Yeah. So I I kind of come at it a little bit different. And you know, you're you're in a different category. Because obviously, you're a player, and you did it clean. So you you I say would be I can understand that you would be offended by somebody who does it unclean..

"When you recharge your battery later in your career. Now, you you still a cheat? No matter what no. The analogy I made is if you're named father of the year for, you know, seven consecutive years than you cheat on your wife. Okay. You were father of the year, but not any longer. Yes. Mclovin. You know, we talked about hall of fame. Yes. We have that interesting poll Julian Edelman verse Calvin Johnson. Yeah. We don't care about PD's NFL. So why I mean, we do I think that's keeping Rodney Harrison out of the hall of fame and Rodney to me is more of a hall of Famer than Julian Edelman, but the Tonio gates is probably going to get in. Yes, he will. I don't think there's going to be a huge debate about it either. I don't I think we look at football differently and say you have to take performance enhancing drugs with baseball. We look at it and say, you shouldn't have to take performance enhancing drugs GNC. It's the thing keeping Rodney out the steroids or that he was always considered a dirty player. It could be both. I mean, he was a tough guy. But you certainly wanted him, you know, the be the backbone of your defense and he was with New England. The fact that Bella Chac, you know, talks about rod one Rodney to join his coaching staff. I mean, he loves Rodney Harrison and Rodney to me was better at his position than Julian Edelman has been in his position. You know? Can I? Can you look at both of them as hall of famers? I guess but Rodney Harrison's more of a hall of Famer I think it'll be used against Ataman that he tested positive and was suspended for four games. But Marian Rivera DEA put him in it does he get one hundred percent of the vote. "Now, the patriots are coming to you if the patriots came to Los Angeles, but we have a different result. I think we'd have a whole lot better game. You know, maybe the patriots would have won because they had a better game plan. But something was missing with the chargers there because that was ugly and ugly early amick Levin now than Gordon didn't seem like he ever got back to being Melvin Gordon. I don't think he was one hundred percent anything he was close to being one hundred percent. But I'm going to give a whole lot of credit to the patriots. They're now chargers deserve blame. And a lot of times. What we'll do is spend our Mondays blaming somebody. I didn't have to look at the patriots. Because I wasn't sure what I was going to get out of them. I had an idea what I was going to get from the chargers. I did not get that. But the patriots. They surprised me and it comes down to here. We are again with Bela check and Brady because I wanted the chargers to win because of my prediction, but. When we talked about this on Friday. I said it's Bella check and Brady in a home playoff game. And that's usually a recipe for disaster for the opposition. Now, they go on the road and they're vulnerable on the road in the playoffs. We've seen that before with them. But man, you got Brady as an underdog. He's got a love this. It's you know, you play to have that chip on your shoulder and Brady for so many years so many weeks, so many months they been the favourite. Now, you're the underdog, and I gotta believe they love this. Yes. Point patriots yesterday, James white and Julian Edelman, they're not any danger of going to the hall of fame. I don't think either one of them made a pro elements never made a Pro Bowl. But even when he had one hundred catches he didn't make the Pro Bowl unless there's an alternate. I have on his record that he's never made a Pro Bowl, even as an alternate. And he had one hundred and five catches. Yeah. But doesn't feel like one of the most important players in football. This time of year at San with white. But to an element is nuts. It's uncomfortable. Not as much for some reason. I don't look at him as. Dangerous anymore because it it felt like man if they needed to third down play Eshelman was going to be that guy. I I don't know if you can count on anybody in that offense when it comes to, you know, wide receiver. Yeah. Except for James white it feels like answering. But that's what sort of makes the whole thing. Crazy is that they did it all without gronk. Who was the always the shore thing, I think he had one catch yester-? Yeah. And then that's other than blocking which is really sorta his value. Now, then it's just some kind of decoy by the way teams going on fourth down in the divisional round. Fifteen fifteen attempts on fourth down thirteen were successful. So eighty seven percent of the time you're successful on fourth down. But you're also seeing teams I I would go for it on fourth down. I if I was going to have a fake punt. I would have my best offensive players in there. The fact that the saints ran a fake punt and the eagles had their defense out. They're not they're punt defense there. Punt team, they they're return team..

"And MRs time to talk football after hours with Amy Lawrence who is your Monday MVP one player from each of the four divisional winners each of the four teams that were on buys by. They all ended up moving on to the final four in the NFL. And we will have the double header I coming from New Orleans and the Superdome in the NFC. And then from Kansas City, Arrowhead, it's going to be even colder there in the AFC. I think that's on purpose. The prime time game between the patriots and the chiefs. And both of these games are rematches as we get closer to next weekend. We'll go back and we'll look at those games. Maybe maybe our crack production staff will even put together a montage of plays going back. Now, that's a lot of work because these were not games in half. But in the last couple of weeks, and the teams have changed and the postseason is different. It's not the same at all to me. You can see the patriots and the way that they not only had their coaching rise to the occasion. But also the experience not not everybody has experience on that patriots roster. They have seen a lot of turnover on both sides of the ball. But similar to the Seattle Seahawks. That I talked about this throughout the year with the Seahawks six guys remaining from their Super Bowl runs. Well, that's the case with the patriots to the coaching staff. Well, a lot of the coaching staff is turned over, but Bella checks, Shirley, and Josh mcdaniels has been there for a long time. And then you think about Julian Edelman and playoff Julian Edelman, and you know, what he reminded me of you know, what he does remind me of you ever gone fishing, and you try to catch the fish at the end of your line. He tried to grab them up with water, and he's still alive or maybe you've got him in a bucket. And you're trying to grab him out of a bucket. So you can you can scale them, and you can get ready to cook them that sounds really awful. But anyway, you gotta kill the fish at some point. So you grab the fish. And what is the fish do if he still got arod has lungs. What did he do? He's twisting, and he's writing and he's wriggling Eddie's. He's Turney every which way and fighting you tell me that does not sound like Julian Edelman, you think you wrapped up. You think you haven't tackled you think you got them either way both hands that slippery little fish? He just keeps twisting and writhing wriggling until he gets a few more yards so playoff Julian Edelman is back and then think about Devin mccourty and Matt Slater and the guys who've been part of this team and have. Have understood how hard it is to get to this level of success consistently. They obviously set the tone and once you get into the post season. It's a completely different level of experience for the pats. So who made the loudest statement this weekend in the divisional playoffs, certainly Sony Michelle as a rookie in his first postseason game made a really loud statement. He ended up with one hundred twenty nine yards and three touchdowns. Which is why he is part of our poll for Monday MVP, you can find that on our show Twitter after hours CBS, and I will re tweet here when I had opportunity also be on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence eight five five two.
