LeBron had 41 on Saturday night against the Celtics, didn't get a call in the last second going to the hoop, the NBA issued an apology, they have the dates, the odds, DraftKings has the dates of when LeBron is going to break Kareem's all time record. February 7th is the favorite against Oklahoma City. Then it's two days later against the bucks. So those two prohibitive favorites. February the 7th in February the 9th to break the all time scoring record, then they've got the 11th against the warriors and then the pelicans are February 4th, but those are long odds right now. Yes, judge. That's right in the middle of Super Bowl week. He should be the speed things up or slow it down a little bit and then sometime after the game is over, do it the following week. Yeah. Yeah. Fair point. You want the night to yourself there, showcase that. But still, his reaction when he didn't get the call, like, oh my God. And I said to Pauly, did he lose a family member? Because he reacted like, oh my God, down on one knee and I'm like, okay. I don't know if he was in pain that he didn't get the call. He went sergeant Elias from a platoon at one point. When I was like, oh my God, okay, you didn't get the call. It's like when told my four year old son, like you can't have ice cream for breakfast.

"If you like. You know, the music about those all inclusive vacations from the late night ads, well, they're not what they used to be. Instead of bikinis and sunlit walks across the beach, Washington Post travel reporter Andrea Sachs says some resorts may want you to do less on the property and more around the places you're visiting. My recent experience was totally different. I mean, they're really embracing the culture, the traditions I was in Mexico. And they brought the culture inside, but also really encourage people to go outside of the resort to experience the country. Sachs also says that major resorts like sandals are also encouraging volunteering and engagement from their visitors who just really should be digging in they say into the communities that they visit. When a Jewish podcaster Jonah Hill proposes to a black fashion designer Lauren London, it's time to meet each other's parents. You are so beautiful. I think the police. Okay. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny are perfectly cringey as hill's parents while Eddie Murphy is a hilariously rigid straight man alongside the passive aggressive Nia long. The script is a biting social commentary with laugh out loud moments throughout, but the final 20 minutes is awfully rushed. You'll say, wait, they're just gonna end it like that, but you'll still be glad you watched, especially with so few good rom coms released nowadays. And at the architect of the capitol. I'm listening. Us in a letter and I would like to know what the basis is to allow somebody to occupy the speaker's office who comes in second place, ten straight times. Is there some basis or rule or precedent for that? And so I nominate president Trump. Because we must make our country great again. We can start by making the House of Representatives great again. I guess. It's smattering of applause. No one else votes for him. Oh my God, this is just, I can't write this anymore. Yeah, do we have the veep Julia Louis-Dreyfus is correct. Did the White House Make an Error in Shinzo Abe's Name?
"Does anybody know if you're Japanese or you're fluent in Japanese affairs? Is it shenzhou Abe or Abe Shinzo? Did the Japanese have that tradition of kind of inverting the names? Because some cultures and languages do that. But Biden's statement calls him abbe Abe Shinzo. Everywhere I've always known him to be shin so Abe. Tell me The White House didn't make that kind of an error. Please tell me that they aren't so incompetent that they don't know the proper usage of the former Japanese prime minister's name. I mean, honest to goodness, you can't make this crap up. It's like that we're living through an episode of veep nonstop. It's on a loop. And if you don't believe me, warning language warning, lots of adult language, but it's one of the funniest TV shows in the history of TV. And it's called veep starting the brilliantly funny Julia Louis-Dreyfus on HBO. And that's what this is like. Kamala Harris babbling? Joe Biden's wife telling him say God bless America. Say God bless America. God bless America. It's like the scene from Christmas vacation.

"How stupid these people are. Lizzo went on to say, we got a lot of other things that we need, there are people in charge who can change things on a systemic level and they'll let us down. Those are all partisan points that anybody can read on their fucking piece of paper. She just echoing other Hollywood liberals like Michael Moore, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Brenneman, Amy Schumer, and my ex-girlfriend, Alyssa Milano, who said many meltdowns over this sort of thing across the country at one point, Milano, who trust me, her husband is hiding in a corner of their house the last few years, melano has said that this is the most dangerous time to be a woman in America as she called on men to use your privilege to destroy your own privilege. Alyssa, we're both Italian, okay? I know a lot of things I just talked about like the garlic on the diaper and the scotch on the gums and the parsley at the ass. Your mother did the same thing and so did your grandmother. Snap out of it. We're both Italian. Ask your grandmother who came over on the boat. If she'd rather live as a woman now or as she did in 19 19, you stupid bastard. Jesus Christ. When cold hangers, why don't you use for cults? And of course, lizzo, being the new kid on the block, takes her cues from Milano and just repeats what she says and feels. So she can fit in so she can still be loved by her clan. Because as much as lizzo wants love from all the great people in America, she can't find it all. Because many of us have turned off by her. So she ingratiates herself into a crowd that lets her in. The same crowd that welcomes in the transgender, the site goes, the weirdos. The people who, you know, who have to be shown on close ups at the recent award shows. They've got to zoom in on the boy, but the long earrings and the eyeshadow and the fucking ruffled shirt and the skirt. I don't need to see these fucking weirdos. I don't need to see .01% of the country's population in the close up. You keep putting them in the movies. I'm not going to go see it. And most of America won't either. It's annoying. So maybe why lizzo also attacked pro life legislation in Texas, which bans abortions after 6 weeks of pregnancy. When a fetal heartbeat is detected, she said the abortion ban is atrocious. Mind your business. Stay out of my body. Oh, we will, lizzo. We will. There is no danger in that. Before I go any further, can I get a round of applause? Today's episode is all about Elaine from Seinfeld Seinfeld. One of my favorite shows of all time, just watching some curb your enthusiasm lately. I think I mentioned the other day on the show, not a huge fan of the newest season, but just finished season 7, the Seinfeld reunion season of curb. And it's very great. I love everything about it. And Julia Louis-Dreyfus who played Elaine Seinfeld was on that season, of course, with the Seinfeld reunion, and there's a great scene where a number of scenes where someone has left a ring stain like from a wet drink on a nice wooden coffee table of Julia's and she's accusing Larry of doing it, and then Larry's trying to figure out who did it. So he keeps asking them if they respect wood. So if you have not seen that season in particular curb, it's one of the all time best. We're gonna jump to those questions in just a second. We need a little bit more effort than 40 consular officers from the United States State Department in the relief factor dot com studios. Listen, that cliff last week generated about $20,000 in donations to our food for the poor campaign. So why don't you do me a favor? Why don't you attack our food for the poor campaign? Thank you very much. I love what you guys I love what you guys do So God bless you. I do want to say I think that Kamala Harris is in is much trouble. As Biden. I truly believe that Biden is so compromised that he was told to stand down for those six days as as the Taliban took over, and I believe that they thought that they would have covered by the mainstream media, and I believe it's such a catastrophe. And it's such such an amateur. Trader. Our basically that she is every bit is tainted with this. As he is, and I think they have no place to go right now. Honestly, Cliff this trip her Asia trip in the middle of this is is so Down the rabbit hole stuff. This is so bizarre. I mean, it's like right out of a movie. You know, it's a plot that is like and you couldn't script this if Hollywood writers I know I keep coming back to this TV show that I like a lot called veep, and I want to warn you. There's lots of crude language. Um, you know, it's it's but it's really, really funny. It stars Julia Louis Dreyfus as a fictional vice president. Named Selina Meyers. And this is right out of veep. I can't even stop thinking about this is right out of that. That TV series a satire. We got Afghanistan on fire. We got people being literally Americans stranded, while the press secretary pretends they're not being stranded. We got Kamala Harris over in Singapore babbling about buying Christmas presents for your kids. It's a nightmare. We're living this. We're living a TV series. 806 55 Mike one open line. I don't know where we go from here, do you? You got any ideas? Um I feel like we're holding on for dear life until we can get to the midterm elections. And everything. Everything points towards survival. I mean, when Newt Gingrich points out that we've essentially surrendered to the Taliban Isn't he right? Now we're just working out the terms of the surrender. And these Democrats who have been the superstars of the party. They're just how could you be any more rotten, then the governor of New York. Who gave his farewell speech yesterday he's finally gone. Was a good day for the country. This disgraced, arrogant Jerk of a governor. Who has harmed so many people. Up to and including literal death, thousands of seniors who died because of his horrible covid policies. That mandated that nursing homes in New York except Covid patients, which literally led to the deaths of thousands of elderly New Yorkers. And so finally He gets out, right? He gives his speech. Which was so obnoxious this guy is load some Loathsome and you know the hard thing over on the TV side. How does anybody look at the face of Chris Cuomo and not think of this jerk? Listen to cut nine. Here's Cuomo ending his his, You know, fighting back tears. This guy has resigned in disgrace under this cloud of scandal. And pushed out of office. Nobody likes him. Wait. "Like there. That was one of the things i really liked. Bought black widow is it. Felt a little bit more out in the world. They kind of inverted the claustrophobia. With loki they were like well. If it's all of this you know basically like purple mist tree branch off of a time. Line fantasy we can control everything you know what i mean and we can make it look as crazy or is beautiful or as haunting as we want and then when you get into what would a bureaucracy that ran time. Looks like it's got awesome. You know it is kinda cool to have this like this sort of office comedy going on ins. I if anything. I add save lucky as i kind of wish. There had been more Case of the week. Owen wilson and tom huddleston chase down a variant. And then come back and shoot the shit with a guy doesn't know what a fishes kinda stuff like. They moved past that pretty quickly into lady key and or sylvia and figuring that whole idea of like. You're very out. Yeah i mean. I have to say i never expected to to say this about a marble show. Is i kind of want to stay in this fishbowl. Like i this idea of an evil time lord than the to trying to get back together so they can perversely what love each other. I mean it's so bizarre and it's such a richly drawn ecosystem that now i feel stingy. I all of these characters of course going to be bound for other productions or even if they're just cameos and maybe as you said like if king is the big bad and this is where we're headed in mcu for the next five ten years. It's inevitable but i kind of want to stay here. I wanna stay in this particular version of it and the other thing. I think that's worth noting that one of the reasons why the show might feel a little bit triumphant and a little bit different is because the great success. The marvel has had both in its comic books. And it's film storytelling for the most part. And i'm sure there's going to be an example that i an exception that that i'm i'm overlooking. Generally they are about their stories about ordinary men and women who become super become gods and this was a really smart and fun illustration of the inverse of god becoming human yeah and hilton is fantastic at it but it actually felt like there was the space and the intellectual writing chops behind all of it to wrestle with those questions so when they had philosophical debates or divides or whatever it was entered. It was both entertaining and it. It was thought provoking about what it meant. What their fate was in free will. And i'm so tired of science fiction shows people. Just you know yellen capes about the importance of free will but at the end of this when they had those debates those conversations and our hero who is a liar was basically like. Maybe we shouldn't kill. The big navi is the best. You maybe this is like the best it's gonna get and maybe And he's a unique voice. He's he's a unique advocate for that position because of the complications of the character of ben. And i really enjoyed that. How worried should i be about. King like how. How bad are the bad versions of king. So bad feel real real bad. I mean i think the one of the fundamental things of what the character is become over the last forty fifty sixty years of storytelling. Is that one line. That is almost throwaway where he's like. I've seen the alternatives in. It's just fire. Yeah like yeah. That's that's how bad it is and the thing about a character like hanging is that there's always another one always. It's built into the dna in a very comic bookie way but it actually may. It's not just luther. Never quite dying. It's a character who is always ten steps ahead or ten millennia ahead and flipping backwards and then showing up when you least expect him in sometimes informs you least expect them to be. So how different would you have felt if the elevator opens and revolt there. And she's like. I have another file to show you and at the very last second almost like in a stinger. There's a picture of king lake. How much of your appreciation for the episode. And i guess the show in general was because they actually were like we are putting some chips down. It was. It was everything. It was totally everything because what it was doing was saying that this show did matter is more than a widget it. I mean as much as i understand how foolish that sounds to degree like this matter but in terms of this just being an extended trailer for ant man would have really really been disheartening. Especially considering what great work people put into it. You know it suggested that there is a there is not just a point to the storytelling but a appointed exists within the world of the television. Show key that we will continue to explore and be a part of. I think it would have been a really a kudos to everyone for this recognizing it would have been a really bad feeling to have laid to wonderful groundwork for you know just a punt in the final moments right dan penalties. If you will chris very frustrating feeling at the let me reverse that question. Okay did you feel like black widow was trailer for hawkeye. Then in the end. Yes what i was that is. It's a great to start at the end of these things. Because i have a lot of very positive things to say about about black widow many more than i expected to and i'm excited to talk to you about it but it was very. It's it's very odd that the end of lucky not to the stinger which was only saying. There's going to be huge scrape. But that loki felt like it had more to say about the marvel. Cinematic universe ultimately it then black widow which was a movie and used stinger to advance a tv show. Yeah now. I don't know what that stinger may or may not have been had black widow. Come out when it was supposed to come out which would have been last summer rate. So the totally different. Yeah i don't know what show it might have been. Maybe it be falcon i don. I don't know because that's obviously where we see. The julia louis dreyfus character for the first time. But yeah like. I felt like for As monumental or at least within marvel terms is the the the finally a standalone film for the black widow character is supposed to feel the very end of it felt almost like clipped and it was. It was odd. It almost makes me think. Oh yeah well. In some capacity she will definitely be coming back like natasha romanoff will definitely come back until they mcu because they didn't do ten minutes of teary tributes..

Did this thing and it just looked like like but again. It's not that bad. Just talk me. Yeah it just took me out of it and it should really end sequence. I really enjoyed the the full bit of the fight. So wasn't particularly into the whole thing being in the sky. But once but i think it was more just kinda jump in from pieces of debris and stuff like that and they just thought it was amazing. It was just just talk me out of it to the point where. I can't remember what happened because i was focused on that i just took. It just didn't look realistic. In the refu- shots looked a little bit. Cgi heavy lake slew of shifted. That it's not actually scarlett johansson because he can't be. yeah yeah. i looked a bit plastic. Did not like a few times but it was. It was it was good. All it took it took me out. Post credits seen them. Kind sort coleman. When we didn't get julia louis dreyfus the rest of the because we've been told she was going to originally going to be introduced in and we didn't see throughout the entire fell. I think i got to the end like the very end of the film before the justices before the credits rolled and remembered at that point. We know senior thought the most out because it probably doesn't fit story. Maybe opposed to yeah and then as soon as as soon as we got to the post credit scene which is always present day. Well, this was this was that produced by British guy and they had a lot of British directors and they often have different directors Come on, and this woman Her name was Becky. And she was so nice, Tom, Like If you mess up your line, she wouldn't yell cut from back of the set. She'd walk up to the where you were. And she'd say, Oh, you know, that was lovely. But I'm wondering, could possibly try it this way. And it was so nice, you know, And you just You didn't want to. You know, you wanted to really succeed because of Of how nice they were made. Because it was a comedy show. It was lighter but people when you finished your thing, and you were you were, you know you could go home. They would bring you back out. And the whole crew would applaud you for doing whatever you did. I mean, it was just so different. It was so I know it was nice. And three Louis Dreyfus was sweet. Everybody was really nice. Yeah, just just on again from a million miles away. I think it would be an easier hang with Julia Louis Dreyfus, probably with Kevin Spacey. And what I like about it is that I like I love both shows. In fact, I think if nothing else comes of your show with me today is that we're all going to after the show. Look up, Veep. The Andrea Tandy additions and track you down. It's My hunch is because I watched a lot of beef. I probably did see you and didn't realize it so that it was something. It was a voice over things that I did, But yeah, so you see, you know, Okay. I have to imagine you are fairly disappointed with the crew of this chauffeur, not applauding you at the end of segment about about that national applauding during this, Agnes and.

"And Steve Patterson. You like Huey Lewis and the news? This is the Bt I thought this Dolly Parton story was kind of interesting. So Can you imagine turning down the presidential medal of Freedom like it's offered to you and you're like I cannot. I cannot either. Well, here's what happened. She talked about it on today with Hoda and Jenna, and they brought up President Obama. Admitting that he screwed up by not giving Dolly the medal. And then saying that he would call Joe Biden about it. So they asked her if the call has come in, and she said, Well, I actually have to be honest in all fairness. I got offered the Freedom Award from the Trump Administration. And I couldn't accept it because my husband was ill. Then they asked me again about it, and I wouldn't travel because of the cove. It So, she said. Now I feel like if I accept it, I'll be doing politics. So, she said, I'm not really sure. Because that would be the perception and perception is reality in this. Yeah, right, you know. So I just thought that was really an interesting like if you get offered that award three times and you turn it down. You're probably not going to get another offer. That could be right. Dolly, We need you to have this award. You know? Oh, maybe she'll feel like she could accept it. Now, having spoken about that, you know, how do you say it out loud? It robs it of its power. Oh, I like that, Because had she not said it, then it would be easy to say. Oh, this was a political choice. But now she's talked about it. And then when she gets her presidential medal of freedom, do they get to speak on a microphone? Do they get to say anything? I believe so A lot of people speak about them. There's performances. Yeah. Then she could get up and even, you know, quickly disarm or that in a moment as well, Just by being her cute little dolly self. Yes, You're right. She could easily make it Not political. Very true. Very, very true. And she's not the only bill Bill ejected the same thing recently from he rejected it from Yes, he did. But I think that was for political reasons. Why, yes, definitely was a little different. But still where is you know and listen to get t Get regional here. You think of Dolly Parton. Lot of Southern fans of hers. And if you figure out where is the map Blue? Where is the map? Read great point, understand why she's thinking of sure political isolation that that could make some people feel that is a Caribbean even from a business standpoint, right? Absolutely. I have to say I do love watching the on the show when they you know, could see usually airs like on PBS. They re They record it and then play it back, like a month or two later, and it's always so good. Remember on I remember when Tom Hanks received the award. It was an incredible presentation when Julia Louis Dreyfus wanted She had the funniest speech. It was so great. Do you remember that, Steve? I don't When she was like, you know, I was asked if I could come and speak. And I was like the traffic to get to D. C. What a hassle. And then they said, But we want to present you with the award and she was like, Oh, no, probably right there. You know, she was very funny. Anyway, So I just thought that was ah, very thoughtful response on his part. When it comes to she's gonna get it offered and I think she's going to Accept it. I think you're right because she went on to say I don't work for those. I don't work for those awards. It be nice, but I'm not sure I even deserve it. But it's a nice compliment for people to think that I might deserve it. So that's a yes yes, absolutely on, argue a fan of living on a prayer by bond juvie. How could you not be? That is a good one. "We get up up the lies to talk about this because you know there's a lot of union people, including myself, who who understand who understood What Electing this guy was all about. They claimed 57% of Union households voted for a rough Joe Biden. I think that's kind of high. I know that. I know this is one union household that I'm in. That didn't vote for Joe Biden. Even though I'm not in a union. I think you get the I think you get to be called the union member even after you're not in it. But labor labor unions criticized Biden action against the Keystone XL pipeline. I think this is a wire story, but the ironic thing here is But these unions that are now issuing these press releases. They backed Joe Biden. Didn't they understand what was gonna happen? I mean, I understood that you know, Trump told people this was gonna happen at the rallies, he said they now they say they're against frak E. Therefore fracking go back to their press releases. They say they're They're not going to shut down call go back to what they said a couple of years ago. And the same thing applied to the Keystone XL Pipeline. Julia Louis Dreyfus from the Seinfeld show she she's She's from a super super rich family. She may even be a billionaire. She's against the Keystone XL pipeline. Deeply disappointed. Said the head of the North American Building Trades Union. Would you care to guess who they endorsed for president in October? Joe Biden Will kill thousands of good paying hashtag union jobs tweeted the Laborers International Union of North America. You know who's in the Laborers International unit union who actually re in one of the locals, the $6 Million Man from Boston. Mayor Marty Watch who's now gonna be going into the Biden administration, and his own union says will kill thousands of good paying union jobs. This is from the United Association of Union, plumbers and Pipefitters. Sadly, the Biden administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. They don't care. I don't care. It was the way it was gonna be set up. It would bring in the the the oil from Alberta 35 million gallons of crude oil a day. It would it was the pipeline that would go all the way from Alberta and then cut across Montana, then come down through the Dakotas and then go all the way to the gulf. And, uh and it would be refined in the Gulf and some would be used in the United States and the rest of it would be shipped overseas. It would be exported because we're now the nation's largest temporarily, anyway. We're than where the world's largest producer of energy It was. It was a boon. Then Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton initially blessed the pipeline. But under pressure from environmental groups and liberal celebs such as Julia Louis Dreyfus, the Obama administration moved twice the block Keystone XL. Donald Trump, on his fourth day in office, signed an executive order allowing the project to go forward. So now it's been canceled. So it you know what the only comeback is and it again? This isn't gonna this is gonna make the environment cleaner. In the past. They were Transporting this oil to the refineries. Via rail. Tanker cars. And I remember that on at least one occasion seeing video of a of a tanker train full of this oil tipping over and causing all untold environmental damage. But these rail lines, some of them are owned by a well known Democrat. Mega donor Warren Buffett. So this is a real boon for Warren Buffett, Buffett and it's and it's gonna It's not gonna make it cleaner. It's gonna make it dirtier. But there's a group that's been long battling the the pipeline in the brass ska. Trans Canada and lots of Republican politicians really lied to the American people about job numbers. They? They went down to 10,000 jobs, and their numbers are really a 600 construction draught jobs that travel with the pipeline from state to state. And she called it a risky pie. Everything is risky to these people. It's risky. That's why Ah, That's why Karen keyword Congressman Karen Keating had to had to castigate the National Guardsmen because it was risky. Not to be wearing a mask. 844 542 42. So they announced that they're cutting their ending the permitting for the Keystone XL pipeline. They're gonna be court cases, obviously, but the energy company already announced job cuts. Senator Dan Sullivan, Republican Arkansas. Asked, Do you think? He asked this of Buddha judge who's the new transportation secretary? Do you think that decision is going to impact climate at all? To kill the Keystone Pipeline and killed thousands of jobs and Buddha? Judge replied on this Is that stop me If you've heard this one before. Ornette. More good paying union jobs will be created in the context of the climate and infrastructure work. Yeah, right. That we have had that we have before us, then have been impacted by other decisions. This guy knows nothing about energy. Nothing about transportation. Other than that, he he proposed to his husband in a in O'Hare Airport in Chicago. That's what he said. So I know a lot about transportation. That's why I proposed to my my husband Chastity. Uh, 844 542 42 844 542 42. That is the toll free number of the Howie Carr show sticking through. Your New Year's resolution is a matter of making one right decision at the time. In the past. I've I've tried to eat better. I've tried to be nicer to people. I was tough on being nicer to people. But right now I am again trying to eat better, more healthy food and part of my resolution is to have a couple of these. Every day that I'm holding in my hand. Super beats heart choose. But Julia Louis Dreyfus, I mean, what a great character and you know what it kind of it kind of amplifies. Her wonderful meanness that and selfishness that she exhibited on Seinfeld, doesn't it? Definitely. Yeah, Here's a little more of the theme. It's very short, what they used at the at the top of their syriza. But here it is. It's a good theme. They actually film that show in Baltimore and, well, I was really surprised to find out that the first four seasons of that show featured an entirely British writing staff. Don't you think that this show must be written by people who are in D C or have worked in politics can I would have thought so. Definitely. I thought of you inside her. Yeah, and the nature that they had a different writers later, but Um, in the beginning, British writing staff and they moved the show around. They started in Baltimore. They did it on a sound stage, and they built replicas of the Eisenhower Executive Office building and in the West Wing, and then they moved to Los Angeles. 'Onward' Leads Box Office With Ho-Hum $40 Million
"Right Steve tells about armored yes it's the latest from Pixar here we go it begins with a look back in history not not our history but the history of a fantasy world where all manner of sort of mermaids and unicorns and elves and fairies and minotaurs and wizards in just about any other creature you might find in a role playing game would exist but as these fantasy beings find short cuts to do doing magic over time like why why user wings to fly when you can buy an ORP airplane ticket or why use a spell to start a fire would you can use a match they become lazy and the magic that made them special starts to disappear from the world at large so skip ahead to more or less the presentation you meet we meet Ian and barley who were to elf brothers voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt they grew up with it without their father because the the father died just before the younger Ian was born and when barley was still a young a young L. fling there mother who's voiced by Julia Louis Dreyfus has done a great job of raising them but that hasn't kept him from being frustrated at not having a dad he kinda lacks confidence he doesn't have a lot of friends and I believe that having a father in his life might have changed that barley is is a bit of a lovable lug who knocked everything over that distance pass any tried to take connected to the magical world through role playing games and he drives this amazing band named Guinevere that he refers to it as mighty Steven if you see the detailing on the side you'll understand why so he in turn sixteen is mom gives the in this very special present from his dad it's a wizard staff that includes a built in spell that brings this is supposed to bring his father back to life for twenty four hours and I even kind of botches the spell about halfway through with only the bottom half of his father basically just his pants appear to him very much alive and communicative but without sort of gears in a haze in ways to communicate very well even figured out that he needs something called a Phoenix crystal to complete the spell and barley thinks this is a great opportunity to sort of tear up on a brotherly class that ends with even forgetting to spend this day with his dad that he's always dreamed of in for barley it's a chance to rediscover the magic that still exists in their world the director Dan Scanlan who did monsters university which was definitely not one of my favorite Pixar films has crafted what what might be Pixar's purist adventure film get him in the team have filled it with water last action in a great deal of creativity I really like that could be a Spencer this beastly creature that she plays name the manticore that's part lion and bad the scorpion and she used to be the most feared and respected creature in the realm and now she's managing the theme restaurant but between the laughs on where does what Pixar does best which is that fine that emotional core of the story and by the end we realize the film isn't about this kids search for his father it's about this kid realizing the into appreciating the people in his life that did raise him and did have a hand in shaping who he is and you know if you have a sibling in your life that you're particularly close to I'm gonna get you you might cry like a baby in this movie I don't know but on would also deal with issues of bullying and searching for inner confidence and how real magic sometimes from just comes from just believing in that you can that you can do something even if you can't so it sounds corny it is Corning sometimes I think the energy that Holland impressed bring to these characters is really impressive and they sort of cell that lifelong bond it's genuinely moving the sometimes manic performances carry over to the pacing of the film which at times can be exhausting but onward finishes strong I think with a stand off between our heroes and a really interesting visual take on what I always think of the played out creature in the fantasy world the that needs some conquering in this film this is the the the old the the whole film is sort of hit and miss at times but I think the final act delivers on its emotional promise and brings all things to a satisfying conclusion at least the movie sort of dealt with itself in color and imagination and and and a healthy dose of enthusiasm I think we end up winning the day I was shockingly underwhelmed by this movie is the prologue of this movie that that Steve described as the this idea that the magic of kind of got out of the world everyone's you've taken the easy way out we do not agree to set up for a movie a movie that I knew very little about yeah that's all users are like an elder in road trip movie with two brothers and I thought that that was pretty good pretty great set up and the movie business takes on that life that it just seems that it gets easy itself and the sort of forgets the the really sort of really intriguing premise that it sets itself apart but then that would be in the emotional undercurrent in this movie of this movie where they're trying to resurrect their dad for this very brief time in their lives one of the bridge brothers should be no didn't really know him at all I you know I I was expecting a much bigger payoffs at the end of the film and the it's a little slow for the bulk of the movie ice was sort of tolerating in this adventure story which I really wish I had only been the one brother I really did not like the Chris Pratt brother character I thought it was just the heat interrupted everything too often I would much rather have been so little story with the brother try and of the one year old son trying to reconnect with his father is this wonderful moments really early on in the movie where the the the younger brother have a tape of his father and he has the nose the tape so while he's able to sync crappy conversation with his father as a result of that I thought well what I mean that to me in such a way that display all the unsold set up for this movie now and then it just became more of a routine adventure story with a couple nifty set pieces along the way and I was just waiting for this conclusion to really only family families I'm going to get back at the end and I thought that they botched it to the entire movie I kept thinking about the ending to status perks A. I. which is seems to be where this movie almost guilt to gain that idea of resurrecting this you know your most loved person for a single day the never being able to speak to them ever again not that movie you know destroys me this movie left me underwhelmed yeah I was underwhelmed by it too I was it didn't have any to it but I didn't connect with it emotionally and that's really odd for Pixar movie because most Pixar movies you connect on an emotional level you know and but I can't I can't count the number of Pixar movies that have me crying you know like all agree on usually it's at the end but in the in the case of office the first ten minutes right but I didn't I didn't connect with these characters I was nicely animated there are some clever things in it and some of the action sequences are fine but I never connected with it on any kind of emotional level so I was I was disappointed with onward as well so it did make forty million over the weekend now six seven eight no no this is this isn't down there this is good dinosaur numbers yeah and the first big family they've ever opened in March it's always been either June November the couple won the end of may sell the I mean they have another one coming out in June I just don't know if they just didn't know where to put this movie or they didn't think it was strong enough for a summer holiday release but forty million dollars is not great for for for movie of they are real steel like Pixar okay all right and is million came in second with fifteen million up to about fifty three million total that's pretty solid let's see yeah it's almost yes it can be close to a hundred million dollars worldwide only cost seven million dollars to make you go man and then the way back eight point five million not not a that great unfortunately all right
‘Downhill’ Review: A Small Disaster in the Snow
"Downhill this isn't a remake of a Swedish from to from two thousand fourteen this call force majeure antibody a marriage that's on the rocks it's a family on vacation in the Alps as the situation develops which has a interesting outcome now and this time it's will Ferrell and Julia Louis Dreyfus are playing the married couple and the situation I'm kind hinting at is an avalanche a controlled avalanche that occurs while they're on vacation and the signature moment of the film is that when it happens will Ferrell's character thinks oh my gosh it's Annapolis role doomed and he scampers away from his family rather than trying to protect them be with them save them leaving his wife to think oh my gosh we just had this life threatening situation and you abandon us what kind of a man are you so it's a it's a kind of a an accidental situation that really pokes at their relationship and and is it as strong as it could be is it should be does it reveal things that are wrong with their bond and that's where the story kind of go from there will Ferrell is making a serious part yeah you know there are some mildly comic moments maybe darkly comic but this is not a typical will Ferrell comedy for sure so it's kinda it's he's done some films in the recent past where he's kind of stretch to bed so I think he's good enough that the drivers is always excellent whatever she does and so I like that part of it what I didn't like is it's a very short movie it just under ninety minutes into me when you're when you're showing a marriage that's troubled that there's a relationship issue there's tension between the two people you got to really break it down you've got to spend some time with these people and it just begins and ends so quickly I don't think it does that so there wasn't any scene in the movie were will Ferrell did his signature of parents running around naked except for his jockey shorts no he doesn't these are not what doesn't realize that that's his thing it's a stick the manchild routine and I kind of miss it I have to say but yeah he's he's got a little older is take more sophisticated rolls and this is something that's added his wheel house but I like that I committed before putting this movie out on Valentine's day weekend makes no sense even the poster you got the two main characters looking away from each other listen I don't mind this kind of movie they feel like you know I was like marriage story but not nearly as intense but pick a different weekend at the box office is terrible the four point six million not surprising it's it's a tough movie to market because it's not wacky it's more thoughtful it's it's it's difficult to package so a relationship feel bad moving on Valentine's day exactly it listen I love counter programming but I think if fantasy island which were not of top we had I think you and I have seen it but I give that as counter program okay you don't one of a romance movie go for like a hard R. horror movie but this one it just seems very strange and the box office really proved it was a bad choice without spoiling it does that have a happy ending
Julia Louis-Dreyfus Takes The Lift For 'Downhill'
"To the fray mom John Horn for Valentine's Day weekend. Here's an idea a new movie. That might leave you contemplating the meaning of marriage. The film is called Downhill. And it's dramatic and dark comedy adapted from the Swedish movie for Moore. The Film Stars Julia Louis Dreyfuss and Will Ferrell as a couple whose family is on a European ski vacation when the resort sets off. What's supposed to be controlled? Avalanche that threatens them and their kids. Each parents reaction reveals deeper divisions in the marriage. Julia Louis Dreyfuss is also a producer of downhill. We got together at the Sundance Film Festival. A couple of weeks ago. Where the movie premiered. She said she. I discussed the idea of an American remake of force majeure with Fox searchlight back in two thousand fourteen but I had just finished making this movie enough said with them and we were talking about further projects and I said believe it or not. I said you know I'm really intrigued. By stories in which reality is seen one way and then a lens is taken off and you look at reality a completely different way within the story and they said well we just came back from con. We saw this movie. You should see this movie. Because we're trying to get the rights to it to rebuild force majeure. Yeah so I said your love to see it and so they screened it and I was utterly hooked. I remember watching force majeure on my laptop and there's a scene in which there's an avalanche and the father without giving too much way doesn't exactly do the right thing that kind of and remember when I watched it. I backed up and watch like ziprecruiter film. I went frame by frame. Like what is he really do? How does he really react? And in the original movie. It's a little vague in your version. It's not I guess. It's a little more clear in your adaptation. I'M GONNA ask about that moment and in your adaptation why that was key to amplify that choice. Well we wanted to be clear what he did but unclear as to the fallout from it. So in other words The wife in this situation play by myself is in utter shock and we wanted to unravel the sweater from that point. From a storytelling point of view. This movie is certainly about the repression of Truth and truth and denial of truth. Which is I think an interesting theme particularly right now. And denial of facts But on both ends because you know initially the couple that you know. It's a stunning moment and then rather than a direct confrontation or conversation. Even about what had happened. They don't have that because I think what happened feels unmentionable because it's so shameful and so They they begin. This is a credit to Jesse Armstrong. Who did the adaptation they begin By attacking an outside source that is to say these safety. The mountains safety guy played by Christopher Hindu and on the enforce measure who is also enforced measure and wonderful in that movie as well as in our movie. Here's what I think you're not picking up on. This was a huge event for our family. Okay and Sir. I don't WanNa make this a legal matter between us. I don't know I don't I but I'm saying that I don't want nothing lyrica. Were you sue. Because your coffee's hot madame school you I'm an attorney okay. You've heard our complaints. Yeah will someone needs to hear it. Thank you for your time. And no. Thank you for your time for me. That is for certain. I thought that was such a great idea to put it away from themselves. Put that anxiety in that tension Onto somebody else before they turn on one pretty cool. We're talking with Julia. Louis Dreyfuss producer and actor in downhill on as about castain and are talking about the kids the couple because they're older than the original film and that changes something because they understand what's happening in the marriage. The kids in the other movie. I think are too young to really appreciate it. These kids are older and they know what's happening and was at written. Was that just something where you start thanking us our producer. What does it mean if these kids are twelve as opposed to seven? We totally discussed that at great length. I mean look both will and I are old right and I'm really old. No no no I am and so and when we first started doing this I was like we gotta get this done soon because pretty soon it's going to be implausible for me to have two young children and in fact they needed to be young because they had to you needed to feel as if they were vulnerable in the situation of the avalanche Had they been in their teens? You might have felt that they were possibly less vulnerable. Not that teenagers can't be vulnerable. But somehow being younger sir heightens the the the the sense of danger I think And then additionally we sort of wrote it into the script or pretty subtly implied that we were an older couple who decided to have children late in life Wills character refers to fertility treatments that we went through and whether or not it was going to work so this was a sort of a later in life choice for this couple which is sort of an interesting idea to what about. Well how did you end up? Casting him He read the script and he was super interested in it and I had seen stranger than fiction and was a very big fan of his work in that I mean I'm a fan of his work period. I mean the guys have stone cold genius but he was able in stranger than to embrace a dramatic tone and therefore he would be able to sort of tackled this material and then we met believe it or not. We never met before not some random. Hollywood party and we have these parallel lives you know because of SNL and Etcetera Etcetera. But no. We have lots of friends in common but we never met. We met four this project and we had a long coffee and talked at great length about the material and He hadn't seen force majeure he'd only read the script of downhill so and he was like I really want to do it and I said well before you sign on make sure you really want to watch the original you know and make sure you WanNa step. Put your toe into this water. There's a expression that a friend of mine who worked in marketing uses an. It's an overcome as like a marketing. Obstacle that a film has. This is a serious movie about marriage and it stars people who are generally known for doing comedies. You think that's an issue in terms of either people come in thinking it's GonNa be funny or people who WanNa see a dramatic film and being unsure of. Comedians can do it completely. It's been a challenge from a marketing point of view. I mean the trailer was very Intentionally I if you watch the trailer you'll see. That's not chock full of That's by design. It looked like it was going to kill us full moment. The kids were screaming because it felt like we were gonNA dot keet and he had grabbed his phone. Keep left us nice. I didn't leave you to bear. Even though there are plenty of jokes within the film I mean there are comedic beats but I would say more dramatic beats than comedic beats when I watch downhill. I went back and rewatch force majeure because I wanted to see how that movie ended and I'm not going to talk about what specifically happens in the ending of your film. There's a scene in both films ski run and there's a scene in your film that is new. That is I. Think my favorite scene in the movie where there's a conversation about what will Ferrell's character can do and it feels like a really interesting way to end the movie. I'm wondering about that scene about its importance in how you try to figure out how the movie should end totally without talking about what she says to her husband. Well I think that we wanted. We did not want the movie to end up with a neat little bow. We wanted to have ambiguity at the end of this film. I think it's safe to say that people might leave the theater thinking either. This couple is gonNA work it out or maybe this couple Is got a real problem on their hands and I think. Both truths are acceptable It's up for. She makes a decision and I think it's questionable decision. Okay I mean you know as a standing outside of it. I can understand why she did it but I'm not sure it's exactly the right thing to do in that moment but that's okay because They're trying to crawl their way out of this mess and this is their kind of muddy messy way of doing it. And you know it's up for discussion as to whether or not it's the right. The right move. I really liked playing that scene because I understood why she would come to that conclusion. But it was very important to me in this in the film that we made that this character that I played was flawed Because I we didn't want it to be a movie about you. Know sort of cowardice and masculinity and just that it needed to be a little more balanced and that was important to me and the wife character in our film makes a couple of pretty miserable decisions.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge surprised by acting win
"Billy Porter became the first openly gay black man to win an Emmy as best lead actor in a drama Sunday any marked the moment by quoting another history making gay black man noted author and activist James Baldwin James Baldwin said took many years of vomiting up all the filth that I have been talked about myself and halfway believed before I could walk around this earth like I had the right to be here Porter speech was a powerful moment and any telecast filled with a few expected wins and lots of surprises in particular Phoebe Waller bridge creator star in writer of Amazon prime videos comedy flea bag stepped on stage three times for wins is best writer in a comedy Best Actress in a comedy and when the show won as best comedy series Waller bridge competed against TV veterans like Julia Louis Dreyfus whose one seven times as best comedy actress seemed a bit stunned herself by the third win this is getting ridiculous. is a one woman show in Edinburgh Festival and the journey he's been absolutely despite a finale season they drew criticism from some fans game of thrones one as best drama series star Peter Dinklage earned a historic fourth Emmy as best Supporting Actor in a drama the only actor from game of thrones to win on Sunday night another expected when was Alex Borstein who earned her second Emmy in a row as best supporting actress in a comedy for her work on Amazon's the marvelous Mrs Maisel she gave it may have been the speech of the night recalling her grandmother who was a Holocaust survivor my grandmother turned to a guard she was in line to be shot into a pit and she said what happens if I step out of line and he said I don't have the heart to shoot you but somebody will and she stepped out of line and for that I am here and for that my children are here so step out of line ladies.

Yeah he looked really good. He looks great seen him look bad but I drew this award show as he does in every single still of photography taking him ever Israel. Where's the talks really well of any family well. It's a gift Lotta Pink and red dresses which I liked all of them. I think we were talking about just looks like a huge. Valentine onstage dynasty chic which I was into like Mandy Moore could've just like stepped off like an eighty soap op right and that's what I want for my fashion. We also have to Raji. GP Henson Great Yeah. All three of them have either watch dialing Hollywood on Netflix but I've heard it's really good it is really good and like the the first three episodes center around Dang Raji Henson's emmys dress code and yes this last year okay because Jason Baldness her stylist stylist and they're really good friends to show and so I was just thinking styling Hollywood and season two can't wait to hear about distress. They held it shadow styling Hollywood. One of Netflix few wins tonight. flicks yeah slow for them kind of great. Let's commercials now. ozark night were their networks commercials which wines the breaking bad movie. Yes that's true the Camino last hour. There were a few three just kept seeing the new netflix seven million. Leeann streaming sites now and there were commercials for all of them and there's a lot of apple plus huge. I feel like it anyway back to fashion. I also might think probably my favorite was purchase. There's Clarkson. She did like blonde more tissue atoms which is real kate everything you want from purchase. Clarkson ever but yeah it was great never looked great. We all oh really Zendaya so late though like we didn't really see your until she walked out in glasses she present which was fabulous. She's got the marvel money and she's a cool kid. So Oh yes you need to get there early. That's true. Actually she doesn't have marvel money anymore. Right right YEP per spiderman series is dead. Maybe they only mice. I'd still like to you see how that's ultimately resolved but yeah we know about that stuff too. I WANNA share that Kid Harrington who I generally have no interest in as John Snow or in real life but I thought he looks phenomenal Q. Like the Best I've ever seen him. Maybe yes maybe the best never looked tie really channeling Richard Madden which was a great look for him also recommended not show which was Sassou. Ask You guys see what Richard Man did in debt yeah bill t rex out of Lego instagram could for him huge flex. You know I'd like to nominate Emilia Clarke while around the gas are- if Valentino I I'd love to know about. I assume it's tape. That's involved in this attraction but she's wearing confidence. She looks great. I was so ready to root against I'm sorry I did but she made it a little bit more difficult than I had plans. At least you followed through my Rudolph and Michelle Williams both in floral patterns both looking great really really enjoyed that more Michelle Williams in a few minutes. I liked Natasha. Leones look also should we talk about Natasha. Leone clapping. Yeah you're cool. Kidman Adman clapping apparently it is interesting way of clapping. It is like she just learnt how a small child when you teach them how to do applies their hands together but she was consistent in it. She applauded for a lot of people which we appreciate. I really liked it. She was wearing glasses during the show. I just love glasses formal. Look look at the Oscars Golden Globes and EMMYS. It's very common and I think it's a great I would do it. Billy Puerto Ricans and also the formal yes. It's a great addition. It's fake furnished. We're on the same the same people to do it because like young always does it. Oprah as a love the former bosses Amanda. I'm happy to tell you that the Tasha Leo Gift of her clapping readily available for whenever you need that's great people are ready. I think that makes sense. I'm just going to try to do it in my own life. One more nomination. Naomi watts she looks phenomenal and black just logged in just great the new game of thrones star new game. It's just getting ready. I I liked we'll talk a lot more reckoning with routes but I like to the end of the show how David any off who is my one true love can be like and now it's over we did it and now it is over totally disavowing try to shut out any notions of the prequels and spin offs that are that are coming alright great injection positively positively we'll ride this enthusiasm into talking about the most awkward moment of evening which was allow a complicated one which was when. Phoebe Waller Bridge won on Best Actress in a comedy beating out Julia Louis Dreyfuss in her final season as Lena Meyer from beep and bridges incredibly happy. Kate was incredibly happy. Many people on the Internet were incredibly happy. Let's get this out of the way. This is a pro fleabag podcast. You're lovely about free. It's one of the best things that that I've seen in any medium in two thousand and nineteen. Maybe in the decade yet great up there yeah fix perfect episodes a season two. Yes at flawless sure but Julia Louis Dreyfus purpose is probably the best television actress of in history. Yeah I think she's like Lucille Ball and Carol channing. Yes and she had one for veep. I believe every season she had been nominated and she was going to break the record for the most emmy wins by a woman of of all time and she she is there's also a breast cancer survivor yeah and that happened between these seasons so I think we all assumed that this would be her emmy and and it was not and that's the way the cookie crumbles moreover everyone in the room assuming yes so it was like the most tepid response. It's a win from a show that is universally praised yes. I'm sure that no one's like fleabag doesn't deserve it deserve. It really sucks sucks. That's how the point just was such an incredibly awkward moment. Totally I think okay like root for history. It's like when you walk or it's and you want to see a record broken or you. You want like someone's got hot. Hand you want to leave him in the game but as long as possible like it's okay to root for history it's okay to experience that moment and it was just really awkward. Yeah and it's also a fever waller. Bridge did not really read the room in that moment. I was wondering I guess veep is maybe not a big deal in the UK. They don't care about it. They're like we have in the loop. We don't actually need the American version of IANUCCI stuff but she was like thanking her agent and I just it wasn't the note that you wanted at that. Moment also weird for her to be profusely thanking or agent given the feud between writers and agents right now. Yes weird moment. It was not mentioned once during the entire telecast now's house per day and there was a lot of ignoring everything going on TV. No one was talking about streaming services. Everyone was just you know thinking whatever likes Amazon that that helped them. A lot of Amazon wants by the way but yeah it just it. It was uncomfortable. Even though it was happy yeah it's like not undeserved served right with the moment felt wrong and it. Kinda sucks then for our bread shoes. True talent is actually Frank Kayla. I will say like she seems super for actress to me in that moment in a way. I don't like to acknowledge and I just like Oh. This is a real actress but she also had just been up there like I think it would have been different if she hadn't won anything yet yet right right right so she had just been up there. She's up there again. It's like Oh you again like everyone loves her but like it is. It would have been different than if it had just been the first win for few celebrity yeah so it's tough. It's a no win a little bit she continued to she did continue to win now. She did and it was awesome. That fleabag won best comedy. US totally detailing curling. Everyone say their favorite episode man you go first the last one I mean come on the answer here. I soon as you said that to me. I I also kind of don't think of them as discreet right so it's entirely it was just one you could put those together and it would be like one very long movie and it would be kind of perfect shorter then some worth celebrating movies kate the first episode the pilot was the second season yeah great one of the Jumpsuit Yeah Mine's the number three's Kristin Scott Thomas See Russia Kristin Scott Thurow's Jonzon hot priest socially tough but you got yeah Kristin Scott Thomas. Oh yeah that's a trade. That's funeral so many other version of one yeah one we don't talk about the new one in the really funny thing about season into fleabag is just like everyone acknowledges now including TV while our bridge how essential Andrew Scott as you play the AK Moriarty too many of us who watched Sir Lock. Yeah weird very greatest in yeah. It was really cool and she when she turned to him accepting best comedy. It was like we did this because Andrew. You're Scott came in and that was cool. It was great and also you finally got to be on stage which was good so a motive. Actually I just want to say I love back. I don't need any more Brett Gelman twenty twenty between fleabag and stranger things. Yeah Ozone Lot shred amount of everything done. We're done offense. I guess it's it's really inherently offensive thing okay moving on so that was like a low and then and then I within a low below the recovered itself yeah. Just I mean it is remarkable. It's saying that is a special as fleabag actually won the emmys. We don't see actually the best. Things don't usually win awards. That's literally every awards show and fleabag winning and phoebe Waller winning for writing. It's just like wow we did it. That's great yeah so that was good good job on this one thing good Johnson. Okay Okay Hi Michelle Williams speech amazing stuff amazing stuff. This is also what happens when you practice and you prepare and she had clearly given some thought to what she wanted to say and not. Maybe she wrote it. I'm not really sure because it was definitely well-crafted and she hit her points but it was more that she had an idea and she wanted to turn this into It's a speech about equal pay which is like something. She's been crosshairs about a lot. If you remember when they did the re-shoots for I guess it was called all the money in the world it was the Getty Nassar Getty show out of it so Kevin Spacey's the Laura for Christopher plummer and they did the re shoots her fi versus Mark Wahlberg fee. Yes she took like a daily fee and Mark Wahlberg at one point five million dollars and then it became a thanks so she I used that in order to talk about a Fosse verdant. FX And the support and what happens when you actually do support of working specifically women have car work. She just like she had the stats. That's she nailed it.

Emmy Special: Julia Louis-Dreyfus
"Welcome to the frame emme special from KPCC in Los Angeles. I'm John Horn the host of the frame and I'm Lorraine Ali television critic for the La Times Save. We'll hear from a lot of nominees. It's about their work and their shows and we'll talk about. Emmys can tell us about the state of television right now. which is a really really interesting state? Yeah and one thing I want to talk about is he is late night. Talk shows I mean I know. We think that that's a place to go for humor and some jokes. I'm finding some of the best documentary reporting on television right now is happening on shows like John Oliver Samantha B so we'll cover that I am really looking forward to the limited series category this year because it is dumbass about stuff that has been on television talking about Chernobyl when they see us Fussy verdon escaping down more these are excellent shows and the limited series category used to be kind of like now. It's like that is the place that we're looking at it. I'm looking forward to see what happens with that but we're going to start with a comedy series and that Atas veep its lead actress could make some Emmy History Julia Louis and the emmy goes to even Julia Louis Dreyfuss. Let me try to annoy drivers now for most emmys one by performer and the same the same series peaches came back for its final season. There is another big final season it rhymes with game of thrones it is getting thrown and so on but before veep wrapped up its final season. I had a chance to speak with Julia Louis Dreyfuss. There's a lot of grief around the end of a series assuming the series has been a a good thing and a happy thing which in our case it has been and that has an incredible bitter sweetness to it that can really got you and it did. Let's talk about the final season running for President and she is asked a basic question of very early in the season which is why and other people are curious but here's a conversation. I bet she has with Gary who's played by Tony Hill because it is my God is was the game changer. I took bombed the glass ceiling. I shave my in the sink of the Old Boys Club for three years. He kept me chained to a radiator some basement in Cleveland. So as far as I'm concerned America owes me an eight year stay in the White House at this time. I want a war yeah. What is it like listening to that. It's gobs of fun. I think that's so well written so I was just sort of listening to the language you you know she's not a great candidate. That's not under state but I appreciate her her bitterness and her struggle when you are playing her. You'll have some way of saying okay. I know that this is a character and and I know that what she wants is not something that she's able to express but that's the actor plane her. I have to believe what it is. She wants here's how I would answer that. She's he's a very horrible human being and hideously behaved and really has no leadership skills whatsoever or no point view even other than her own narcissistic endeavor but when you player you have to come at it from well bill why and once you start to humanize that horrible nece you can find a way in to play it with a certain amount of well in a weird way. I say empathy and even though I'm not necessarily asking the viewer to be empathetic. I just want the viewer to laugh off but it just perhaps that keeps her from being hated by the audience right. What are the greater kinds of compliments. You can get from people who work in politics. I I hear time and time again. This is what it's really like in Washington and you know. I- winces I say that too but yeah that's that's what we hear. I had the great good fortune into meet Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan once and she told me that she got together with Justice Scalia. When veep was on on the air every week to discuss the past week's episode because there were both fans imagine that are can't? I know I would do anything thing to have those conversations. Let's hope somebody recorded them. I know maybe the FBI

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Has Come Out the Other Side After Breast Cancer Battle
"A comedy about life in the White House will be returning its ailing star is feeling better. Julia Louis Dreyfuss says she feels strong she has energy and she's back to her old tricks. The seventh and final season of veep has begun filming. Louis Dreyfus has helped design a t shirt with poppies that will sell for thirty five dollars at Saks stores in October it will raise money for the Air's foundation, which helps breast cancer survivors with reconstruction costs after mastectomies Louis drive. His says she's often
