"David were here to talk about the Democratic convention the Virtual Convention, which ended Thursday night with a short but fiery speech by Joe Biden. First, let's talk about the Convention as TV. 'cause I wrote down Wednesday night that after the changes the Democrats made because of the Corona Virus Watching a political convention I felt like I was watching an awards show complete with celebrity hosts like Evan Longoria bus stone and Carrie Washington. And then on Thursday Julia Louis Dreyfuss comes out and she's doing bits. US Remember Joe Biden goes to church. So regularly that he doesn't even need tear gas and a bunch of federalize troops to help him get there. Yeah it's on the delivery. Isn't it is I think obvious at target. But if that had been Jeff Foxworthy he could have done the same joke but you wouldn't have had that awkward moment where you're looking at your wife wondering if you just heard a joke at all, you know. Sort of the for the whole night, right? Yeah and I think at the end of the day, look political conventions have been becoming TV shows for fifty plus years. Now, this is not a new trend but something happened this year where I feel they adopted a whole different grammar of television. Yeah. Any it somewhere between a studio show like we would see for the NBA. An awards show. and. Louis Dreyfus especially last night the arrested development veep parks and REC. Comedies Zone. With no laugh track as you say, but jokes delivered to the camera in this kind of offhand manner. Okay. All of those elements of it and I have to say this first of all, I thought technologically presentation. Wise. This week was an enormous triumph for the Democratic Party, but also politics I mean real large I. Do I think it was great that's add the one point of comparison you didn't mention that I couldn't get away from. WAS PBS and there were times. During Brock Obama's soaring soaring speech were I expected him to like spend the next nine thanking us for donations and tying a tote bag was on the way. I was watching Comma Harris, and there was a little bit of that. Like it was it wasn't just the donation drive. It was like it was like they were part of a felt like a British stage production trying to make its way out of make hay out of a slow zooms sort of you know trying to fill up the TV screen. But. Part of what that led to. and. This goes back to your Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus. Point is a real focus on the words right. They manage to they managed to produce it heavily but not produce it in such a way that you were paying attention to. Every little thing that was going on in the background or like you know things that were there's no distraction from the text of the speeches and in that sense despite it being so modern media friendly it was very much a writers. A writer's production right. This is like a this was a David. Mamat play. We were, we are here for the words on the page and for their presentation. And and I thought it was. A huge success. Yeah I feel like we need Greenwald and Ryan and fantasy, and here to talk about the show running of the Democratic national. Convention. Something I'd never thought I'd say and by the way if we want to throw one more element in there along with as you say the PBS telethon where Comma Harrison is going to say if you like programs like, Downton. Abbey please consider a contribution how `bout with that Bruce springsteen bumper music did you get a little bit of a Chevy truck commercial kind of vibe? Every time they would. They would swing between segments will there especially in the sort of? Well, the virus has we've talked about this before is brought us a lot of sort of sameness and heart string tugging across the commercial board and all of the all of this sort of Joe Biden. The real man Promo packages evoked that a little bit and. You in the world we live in now and part of this is not just covert area. It's also like Super Bowl, big super bowl spots and emotional ad campaigns and stuff, but there isn't that much of a difference between. I drive this truck and I lost my family to several horrible tragedies and I'm running for president. You will there are certainly emotional different. They're kind of like subtle emotional notes. I. Totally. Agree. Let's do a very simple convention breakdown and you're going to hear me not to say the words convention winners and losers but but that's basically it will break it down into stuff that was great stuff that was kind of odd but likeable and stuff the desert work. Category One great stuff Joe Biden speech on Thursday night. It was short David Twenty four minutes and change versus fifty six minutes for Hillary. Clinton for years ago. Even counting the applause that's an incredible difference, but it was very biden. Red Meat to the camera and including some very, very useful formulations Are Karm Presidents failed. In his most basic duty to the nation. He's failed to protect us. He's failed to protect America. And my fellow Americans that is unforgivable. Yeah. I thought that I there were parts of the week where felt like trump's How do I say this trump's broadly defined badness evil depending on your point of view was so. Enormous. That it was hard for people to wrap. Their words around sort of it was hard to really. You know I thought watching. Bernie. Sanders. Several Times. You remember like lovely days when this was all about the creeping authoritarianism and and it seems like the problems have gotten so much worse that it's really hard to kind of point your finger and say, this is why we need vote this guy out of office. It's not you don't have the vocabulary for Joe, Biden found the words for it right there. He managed to Chisel it into a perfect point and and that was really great. Yeah and it was by making it simple. It was by making. It Biden esque, not necessarily going for soaring language. He did have some I thought his rap of his speech was very, very well written. But most of it was Joe Biden look straight into a camera and tells you what he thinks which is exactly what Joe Biden should be doing and giving a political speech shouldn't be trying to be Barack. Obama shouldn't be trying to be Donald, trump or anybody else he should just like he has gotten this far by being Joe Biden and he should keep doing that. I was at the Convention for years ago the Democratic Convention, one thing that Hillary Clinton convention utterly failed to do was. Define Hillary Clinton as a person. Outside of politics outside of what he stood for, and again, that was a very hard task given all the misogyny in the world and all the trumpy stuff in the world but. I didn't feel they ever really did it during that convention I feel Joe. Biden's team pounded that rock all four days of this convention. Largely with video packages partly with Jill Biden partly with packages about his son Beau Biden but they you came away with a sense and I think I'm stealing this from Gloria. Borger. That empathy is Joe Biden's superpower. The is a guy who will actually feel your pain. No matter what Bill Clinton said way back when. And that to me was maybe the most important part again for most voters understands that well, I should have had more polished more this and this I'm like I don't know Joe Biden is a good man who will help contain the corona virus. Seems like the bumper sticker you wanted people to come away from this convention with and they did the virus thing was interesting in that. It. Seemed like this was the first time. Well I mean making it a political issue especially from from the dim side has always been. Tough Right especially because you don't want to hamper. What minimal efforts are going on in the White House to try to stem the the advance of the virus but They really did make grown virus A. Campaign point this week and I, mean straight up saying, here's the three year the big four things he's GonNa. Do and one of them is like stop this plague right and and..

I think that Daniel Tosh is a great comedian but he's also a comedian I mean you can talk to me about it's very difficult being that type of comedian in two thousand twenty. Yeah to be the guy that just stomps on people right. We. Will ask about this. What would is sort of brand be? Would it be of the incentive brand like? What type of comedian style is he is Katie. No is tosh you. Yeah. I would say that's it. He takes a he takes Seinfeld's considered observational comedy. What's the deal with meaning a making observations? Other comics are like relationship comics where that's their big thing men and women, guys and gals marriage that kind of stuff. What kind of style is tosh other than just ruthless yeah. That's a great way to put it. Right me be who likes his his comedy dark at times. Like coffee. I will listen Taj and then be like well ouch. Like you'll hit you between the eyes in knock back with a joke. And it's gone I'm leading a Daniel Tosh one of my favorite desktops clips right now. Last, night at the convention, we don't really delve into politics, but a fly repeatedly landed on Michael Bloomberg's face during his speech on Zoom. Is there anything more annoying than that than a fly just wolves goes little way? Twitter was a buzz Thursday night after an insect landed on Michael Bloomberg's face during a speech to the twenty twenty Democratic National Convention the Flying Bug. Presumably, a fly I came to rest above the billionaires right before briefly stopping above his upper lip. Imagine getting stung by a bee while you're delivering one of the biggest speeches of your career back. Off just stunned by what's that be doing in here some movie studio I'm not doing this. It's a TV studio, not outside recording this already got your tosh. Tashi, I do rebel. Okay. This is Dana tosh talking about when he was asked to give a high school commencement speech. Speech recently, high school and that didn't go well at all. Of High School. Kids parents that are proud of them and I'm belittling the entire thing. And the administration really upset with me like Oh we didn't know you weren't GonNa take it seriously to which I replied. Really. Thought this was where I was going to get serious high school shot. Did you do it? I refuse. To give that generic speech as I look out here I see future lawyers and doctors I gave the speech there's felons here. Kim, of you will die in a Dui accident tonight. On. So you're saying I can be anything. That sounds way better than what I was going to do. You know. Who I think tushes I think he is one hundred fifty proof Jim Gaffe again. I think it's good way. Proof Jim Gaskin. They're both very talented. They're both very funny but the higher octane. The higher alcohol content for sure is Daniel time. High School how'd you do it? You want to hear something that's not funny. Oh no this this from Julia. Julia Louis Dreyfus last night text vote to three zero, three three. Three Oh three three Oh that would be the president golf score if he didn't cheat. Wow, that's that's great. Somebody put text cringe to three for. All right killing it here. Yeah. Where we? Where we buy these jokes from these jugs terrible. Yes. I shot a thirty thousand, three hundred. It sounds more like a scribe at done. Anyone in that room as they're going over. What he shoots thirty, thousand, three, hundred, thirty. Well, no. Let's think of a different joke. It's because the the people that were writing the jokes also don't watch your play golf. "Of 7.1 FM out on Eastern Long Iowa. So where should be hopping this weekend? Because the weather is going to be hot, humid? It's gonna be nice going to be a good ocean type of. Ah. Atmosphere, and I hope a lot of people get to enjoy this weekend. In any case. Ah, mercifully the Ah the Democratic National Convention is done. I mean, it was really such an abomination. It was horrible. The ratings alone with her in the crapper and was just And of course, that just heavy on the race baiting and the lies about everything just awful. No mention of the crime. The anarchy in the streets like like it's not happening like you like. You're crazy like your nuts. They just ignored. I think it's going to hurt them. But bottom line is Joe Biden gave his speech last night and, Yeah, Grandpa, I managed to get through the speech without his teeth. Flying out. Whoop de damn, No Ah, the front page of the New York Post Average. Joe is the headline Biden clears the low bar de Mes Exhale with relief. But it did seem to me that the Ah well, it's it seemed like Pops struggled a little bit to me. His Ah little clip of him struggling stricken by a disease stricken by a virus and the undeniable moralities and just accelerating threats. Climate change. If this is the United States of America, there's never been anything We've been able to accomplish. We've done it together wide, so he just I mean, it looks the same thing. He knew he must have practised that thing for a good week, and all he did. Yeah. Four week long. Except, Ah, he accused the president earlier in the week at some function ofthe coddling terrorists. I mean, you talk about somebody who's just completely out of it. Well, not just out of it, but that's exactly what his administration with Barack Obama did. They were constantly apologising. There's no way anybody in their right mind would even bring that up. Up because it would come back to bite him in the ass. Just because you you were you were able to hop on the mic and instantly point that out. That's exactly what they did. This president did anything but coddle terrorists He keep crushed them is what he did. In fact, they were mad at him. For attacking a soul Amani and at the Baghdad airport. They were like that's an international crime. You can't do that, while he did it, and he's dead. Solomon is dead. The terrorists who killed Americans is dead. And so if you don't like it, that's too bad. It's too bad Look, they had a lot of star power last night at the Democratic National Convention. John Legend who you Love They had gloves while I can't stand John legend and the only person I like less than him is his wife, Christie Teagan, who was so overrated so not good looking. And I can't stand either one of them. Plus they're racist. The two of them are races, which the convention was heavy on. It was race baiting. It was false accusations of racism of just race race race, and they had this. Ah! This freak a Billy, I'll ish They had the chicks last night singing Ah, the national anthem, which was offensive, and they also had the very funny all she was hilarious. Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus Man. She cracked some funny jokes. Listen to this. Joe Biden shares John Lewis's belief that every vote matters. Personally, I plan to follow the example of six current Cabinet members. Vice President Putin's and president Trump himself and vote by mail. That's hilarious. See what you did. Vice President Putin's She did that a bunch of times? Yeah, right now because he kept doing that on every single time. It was funny then you have now and I feel bad because I do think she's really funny. She was great in veep and great in Seinfeld. I do have it too like her. You know that. What That tells you, what's that? She's great at reading other people's line, Right? That's what she's great at it, right. Don't try. Don't try this on your own. You know what I was doing The tables like leave it to the pros. That's right. Leave it to the pros. Julian not, you know, but actually, she did have a really funny one when she was talking about the president, Take a listen to find out everything you need to know about mail in ballots, your polling place or even just am I registered Text vote to 3033030330. That would be the president's golf score if he didn't cheat. Oh, that's good stuff, man. Larry David is like damn, Why didn't I think of that? I think Larry David said that sure. I'm Siri that. I just a disaster. The whole thing was awful. As Nick Langworthy pointed out, Joe Biden's acceptance speech was the shortest since the eighties. It was half assed long as Hillary speech in 2016, so they wanted to keep it. You know, there is a minimal amount of time is possible foot would pops on the stage so he doesn't screw the damn thing up. And they got throw. It s so you're benefiting from low expectations. Of course. Nothing about the crime in the city's nothing about the crime against humanity that China perpetrated on the globe. Nothing infact. I mentioned it Earlier. I said the Chinese Just they have to be laughing at us. I mean, what are we a bunch of fools and suckers that they they can actually point out who did this to us, and and? And we can't unite and say, Look, we're going to get you guys for this. I mean, what happened to this country? What happened? Half this country? It's unbelievable. But the biggest lie of the weed. Well, they were a couple of big lives. You tell me, which was the biggest lie? How about Ah, Andrew Cuomo trashing the president for his Corona virus Response. Take a listen. The European virus infected the Northeast. While the White House was still fixated on China, the failed federal government that watch New York at ambushed by their negligence and then watched New York suffer. But all through it learned absolutely nothing Parole, the pain and all the tears. Our way worked. And it was beautiful. It was beautiful. Okay, 11,000 dead beautiful. It was such a whopper. Such an AA AA. I mean, just like This guy is something wrong with you sick in the head. I believe. I mean, for the Democrats to said, put him out as their point person. As I pointed out early, it would be like, you know, a domestic abuse seminar. Let's get O. J. Despite that perfect Mike Huckabee, said Harvey Weinstein, how to treat a lady. But you know, you keep saying Cuomo sick in the head. He's not Because if he was out there by himself, just beating this drum, I would say he's sick in the head, but the Democrats love him. The country seems to love him. He's got a book deal coming on October, the 13th and if you don't think that's going to be no timesbestseller, you're being naive, so he's not out of his mind. I never said I didn't think you would know that. So I don't mean I'm not saying you I mean the people out there, so he's not out of his mind. He's actually He's doing well, It's calculated evil, and unfortunately too many people in this country by we don't evil. People are sick in the head. That's what why they're evil. And he This is an evil man. Apparently, he's he's also afflicted with a little bit of senility because after Ah ah, a criticizing the president for his Corona virus response. We remembered here on the president did as well. This a comment that he made back in April. Take a listen. President brought in the Army Corps of Engineers. They built 2500 beds at Javits. These were just extraordinary efforts and acts of mobilization on DH. The federal government stepped up and was a great partner on I'm the first one to say. We needed help, and they were there. So the E. I mean, that's just unbelievable. Like they they thought, what? What? When nobody was going to drag that out. So you had that you had President Obama's saying Essentially that the president was lazy. I mean, that is like such a I a provable lie. That? Ah, well, it doesn't even bear digging into. But Michelle Obama, she had the second biggest whopper. I think when she said, this kid's in this country are seeing what happens when we stop requiring empathy of one another. They watch in horror. That's Children, a Tauron from their families and thrown into cages and pepper spray and rubber bullets are used on peaceful protesters for photo op. He saw that she had two in one right there peaceful protesters. She called them. She's there Praising these people. Easy. These so called these anarchists these rights, these looters in the street. But that and the kids in cages thing again approvable Ally. There's proof. There are pictures that they were built. But by Obama these cages and used by Obama back in the Ah, well during his administration. I mean, this is just unbelievable how they just flat out bust out unabashedly. Just come out with these. Ah, again. Whoppers on national TV. And think that people are not going to go out and prove that they're lying. I had the the cut The Customs and Border Patrol guy earlier this week disprove all of that..

Oh, sure, sure, from the blues brothers and such that you got to get through, but You know, Uh, I appreciate you're describing your You know your enthusiasm and your reaction. We really set out from the very beginning to make this a music video celebration. Chicago. And our which diverse and world renowned, no questioning arts community. How did you start? I mean, it's a lot. It's It's hundreds of phone calls. I would imagine involved in this to find People and you. You go after people you admire, I would think is sometimes people you know, I know you and Jim Belushi has remained a friend of yours ever since you put him in the film about like, yes. Yeah, Jim with the first Yes on, but it just It humbled like, Yeah, But the great thing is that between Scott and his partner Mat Hoffman and Mark Larsen, who interviewed everybody write his book ensemble and Jessie and myself. We've all collectively had decades in this, uh, in the entertainment industry, both in Chicago and nationally. And so we all had what used to be called Roland Axis that they feel what is it now? Come content. It's called contents, and we started there and we didn't have. I mean it was It just grew and grew and grew. I mean, a lesson three minute song turned into six minutes. We could have turned into an hour film. Now, see, I would bet, Jesse, this was Ah, Hard. Jessie and Jason Britain. Jesse Norman. This was a hard Thing to sort of keep together because there are so many people doing so many kinds of different things in different places. But to make it is visually compelling, let alone You hold together as a song must have been astonishing challenge. Yeah, Jeffy created an incredible narrative arc. That's his theater back. You should talk about it. Well, because it's not all some of the images are larger and smaller. And you know you've got a chef and itjust Jesse. What was the town was the biggest challenge in this for you. Editing. Yeah, definitely. The interesting thing was, you know, we from the start. We laid just basic instrumental track in a couple of days with some very close friends and collaborators of mine. Who I do, eh? Were, you know interested in helping out but he also had home recording Greek All right, all right, all right, and could do this at the drop of a hat. So within like, four or five days, chatting with Jason about it. We had like this basic track in our hands ready to send out to Many, many people, you know, some who and basically we just cast a very wide bed. But we didn't really look at the stuff until we closed the submissions because I started looking at things as they would come in and You would see something I want to use that and then I mean, we got so much stuff that among at all of it in the end with just this massive task of kind of finding all of the best gift that each of these performers gave to us fighting for them and fitting them in and making this this really collaborative celebration and That was the goal. Just use all of these wonderful talents and wonderful people and all the little unique. You know, little spices and gifts that they gave us in and all of the different places that just try to make a narrative and tell a bit of a story and way ended up elongating the piece and we just got so much amazing stuff. Well, it's a Jesse also built built in some places, some placeholders to accomodate things that we didn't know what we were going to get right around right certain collaborators, for example, Twister Who nailed it just killed there with with a rap with the first round. And then Ryan who Att the period at the end of the sentence that pulls it all together. Yeah, I mean, these guys deliver way had conferences with them about the spirit of what we were going for about the the feel and the message that we're trying to send of ensemble and that we're all in this together, but On and they just They just blew us away. So you know, I I still I watched it again today. Sure, another interview and I was just I should go with a smile on my face because you go. So now you have Randy Lewis. You got legends. They're like Ramsey, Lewis and Andre The Shield joining thing and Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus, and then you get superstars George Royal Barton, Pine and George. Then we'll come back with Jason Printing. Jesse Norman will play some of their So we'd home Chicago. Welcome back. The best thing you will hear all day today Or perhaps all week is the Remarkable, sweet home Chicago creative musical collage. That has been put together by Jason Bread and just Norman and Mark Larsen and dozens and dozens of performers and other behind scenes, people. The response to this so far, one did it as they say in the business. When did it dropped this week? Yes. Yeah, On Thursday. I think by noon on Thursday it was already it already racism, some meaningful money, which is great and And had thousands of views and on YouTube, and I think it's It's north of 34,000 views right now and just into days, But more than anything else, the Respond to spend great and funny enough. I mean, I even heard from people that you know that I wouldn't have expected you to have known about this, including an old friend, Ed Zwick, who was shot last night. The Raider, right? Yeah. And who saw it and ah, Sherry Lansing and Wow. You know, I mean, and the The two toes have have come in, you know, And that makes us feel good, too, because it means that it's uh, it's radiating way that we wanted to before, So I'm going to play a few minutes. I'm going to play by three minutes of it, but Did you hear from anybody? You two characters Jason, Britain, Justine over and saying Hey one, you let me I wanted to be in that. Did you hear any of that? Like I said, it could have been an hour, you know, because I even.

"Jessie and Jason Britain. Jesse Norman. This was a hard Thing to sort of keep together because there are so many people doing so many kinds of different things in different places. But to make it is visually compelling, let alone Hold together as a song Must have been astonishing challenge. Yeah, Yeah, Jesse created an incredible narrative arc. That's his theater back. You should talk about it. Well, because it's not all some of the images are larger and smaller. And you know you've got a chef and itjust Jesse. What was the challenge is the biggest challenge in this for you. Editing. Yeah, definitely. Um The interesting thing was, you know, we from the start, we laid just basic instrumental track in a couple of days with some very close friends and collaborators in my poop. I do, eh? Were, you know interested in helping out but he also had home recording. All right, all right, all right, and could do this at the drop of a hat. So within like, four or five days of chatting with Jason about it, we had like this basic, tracking her hands ready to send out to That many, many people, you know, some who and basically we just cast a very wide bed. But we didn't really look at the stuff until we closed the submissions because I started looking at things that they would come in. And You would see something I want to use that and then I mean, we got so much stuff that we're moving at all of it in the end with just this massive task of kind of finding all of the best gift But each of these performers gave to us on fighting for them and fitting them in and making this this really collaborative celebration and That was the goal. Just kind of use all of these wonderful talents and wonderful people and all the little unique. You know, little spices and gift that they gave us in and all of the different places that just try to make a narrative until a bit of a story, And we did. We ended up elongating the piece and we just got so much amazing stuff. Well, it's a Jesse also built built in some places, some placeholders to accomodate things that we didn't know what we were going to get right around right certain collaborators, for example, Twister Who nailed it just killed there with with a rap with the first round. And then Ryan who, if the period at the end of the sentence that pulls it all together? Yeah. I mean, these guys deliver way had we had conferences with them about the spirit of what we were going for about the the feel and the message that we're trying to send of ensemble and that we're all in this together, but On and they just They just blew us away. So you know, I mean, I I still I watched it again today. Sure, another interview, and I would sit there with a smile on my face because you go so now you have Randy Lewis. You got legends. They're like Ramsey, Lewis and Andre the Shield. Join. Continue. Julia. Julia Louis Dreyfus, and then you get superstars and George Real Barton Pine and George. When Joe maintain yah words when Comey how many people I haven't counted how many people Participating. Just think its over 75 0 admitted right and 75 video. Wow. Wow. Well, we're gonna take a little break into every every frame now that I want. It's a six minute long piece that you can hear if you just Go to YouTube. We'll put a link on to it on Ben Anderson will do it a link from this show and I will play a few minutes because it's just it's so joyous so Joyce. You know what it does, fellas. It gives me You know, I know it's the intention is to is to raise raise funds for Art Illinois Relief fund, but it also he gives me hope on a number of levels about The world today, so we'll take a commercial break. Then we'll come back with Jason Printing. Jesse Norman will play some of their So we'd home Chicago. I am like Tom Cruise. In one respect, I do my own stunts here on the show you ever slammed into the side of a building like he did not yet is always money time. Gotta go.

Z. eat it up no as in both all dealing with the Astros first of all owner Jim Corrine who actually said the electronic device did not have an impact on the game that was ridiculous totally ridiculous all manner of the G. he then there's astro shortstop Carlos Cordero who backed by the way was born Carlos Carrera Oppenheimer yeah his mother was sandy bell Oppenheimer yes do not he said Jose Altuve they didn't take off his Jersey after the home run off a roll this Chapman was not because he had a buzzer attached to his body but he had an ugly unfinished tad tune Warner's collar bone that explains it and I didn't want people to see it well it well and did commissioner number three rob man free old check out to maybe to see if he had the unfinished sad to know he said it's it's something I haven't thought about manatee and hearts and flowers I mean this is terrible man freed says wait a minute sympathy for the players if you watch the players faces they're dealing with what they have had to deal with they've already paid a price I don't know why he's getting a lot of grief in a lot of quarters rob man for the commissioner of baseball that he to because he didn't in a penalize any of the players that was thought that he would want to challenge the players union but my goodness yeah yeah word with a Hank Aaron said they should be thrown out for life my route the great angels player very critical of the S. those players in all I can think of it's a good thing judge can a shawl Landes run band the white Sox white Sox black Sox scandal he's not commissioner because the guys would be gone political Hey wait a minute how about Yankees newly acquired right hander Gerrit Cole display he was sitting in the astro dug out for two years on the days he wasn't pitching many times he knows nothing about it I don't know why would a bag of the garbage can I were making music I don't know but here's the final here's the question maybe for your friend a Jeffrey Lichtman who's a big Ole yes fan yeah yes criminal attorney yeah all their enough disgruntled opposing pitchers who were cheated out of earnings and even sent to the minors to file a class action suit for damages an unfair business practices will this one guy who who apparently picks against the Astros was terrible got sent down never made it back and he is suing big time but I think he he wants the money to go to charities and things but there is at least one pitcher who's come for now the other question is are these pictures on other teams in the throat the Astros players for spite once the season begins well that's interesting you bring it up Las Vegas has odds for everything including this one the average team was hit sixty six times last year by purchase their over under this year for the Astros Hodges eighty three times yeah so Hey how much is the former red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts worth to the Vegas odds make well he was just the traded to the Dodgers right before the Dodgers acquired bets the Dodgers were six to one to win the World Series with the acquisition of bets there are now three and a half to one really one layer and based on really yeah and the Yankees who were five to one before they got Gerrit Cole are now three to one well I can see a picture having a big effect I don't know interesting the one player would have that any any good movies though the Oscars are done you soon even did see one but you see it was terrible what was it what was down hill the Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus and the will Ferrell move yes a scale of one to ten I would give it a Z. minus that's and I knew it was going bad I went to a two thirty show yesterday were only five other people in that the postal movie at two thirty you old people in Florida the water did you read the reviews they were great for it no yes our guide Joe knew Martin thing was too bad I was going to do said no we don't lose these Friday the movie was only an hour and a half and that was too long you know I feel bad I felt bad for a will Farrell I mean he's a clever gadis see usually very funny he reminded me of a poor man's Chevy Chase I could see that and I'll tell you another thing they don't play off each other the two of them rarely a Louis Dreyfus and will Ferrell so if you say so so warning you read the review and says this movie sucks so you said I'm going to see it anyway two thirty the afternoon most of it with the weather bad yesterday what was going on what what what well there is some this is worse I saw the previews coming attractions yeah five movies I will never seen in my life and they are all all five were horror films involving kids or teenagers why would why would a link that up with that movie is same studio I guess is why they do the previews but that's easy guys talking about squeegee yes yeah and and how out of touch land is about I just said I was heard by which showed why parotid they they though dot to come over I I did the same thing really can't coming in the same time as you did to accuracy yeah you have to write and did it work for you well I used to to the west side highway getting off at the west fifty seventh street sure so if you were stopped it was stoplight eerie calms the squeezing guy hi the same guy anything really messed up he would mess up my windshield I turn on the wipers like land nice sometimes say no thanks or I would let him do it say thank you and not paying that would discourage you all right no it didn't so one day hi you know it's one of those I just got fed up here he is again you know when you tell somebody no they shouldn't try to force it on you true so I tell him no and he still does it I got so man I got out of the call Warner big mistake yeah and grabbed his squeegee stick well and here we are on the west side highway wrestling I wish you had iPhones back then power man I'd love to see that one of the design and throws Dick into the Hudson River the light changes enrollment in the home the car's home phone I get back in the car I go home at the at the late show tell my wife she said you know what that problem that guy maybe he recognized you and he could be waiting for you to mark to sue you if you got so you know what the next day when a different way I drove all I drove down and he didn't do anything and he says to me how come you didn't try to grab my stick I said I'm not made today yeah that was in wow wow show down a Black Rock with Warner as spent a C. I wish I could see the video out without all right thanks what are going to talk to you all right gentlemen are I want to be there be careful water out there Naples with the switching well you know maybe talk that's right Hey when we get back Anthony Weiner has resurfaced well exactly but some parents don't want him around and the other question is is this the end for the Boy Scouts coming up next good morning I'm pretty Wakeman with your W. O. V. dash to why do we keep renaming won't just cold coronavirus and be done with that I know it's it's a general term but I think everybody is so comfortable using it thirteen hundred and eighty deaths among sixty four thousand cases in China Iowa Democratic Party officials are hiring two high profile lawyers to figure out what happened on the **** as chaos front they're gonna dig into how they screwed up did you see that the guys quit too the the state yep party director quit yeah he had twelve they said well listen it's Valentine's day and for those of us who have somebody to share Valentine's day with maybe movies is the way the all share with yourself you can do whatever you want coming to us from the hot tub where he always reside sometimes it's sometimes it's shorts sometimes sit you know trunks sometimes it's other beach where that chasing Nathanson don's it's nice out today beautiful draws women's pants are no pants okay so I'm I'm turning up in here it's it's been awhile sorry but yet we're going we're going the pants today because it's it's a nice day the weather is changing Hey did you see all that talk about Jim Carrey and his sonic the hedgehog interview with the bucket list thing I did write a eat it I mean it depends were all very sensitive now about what happens it in these interviews and how people especially celebrities are talking to women and if you take what he said in one way she asked him because there's a in the movie there's a thing about we what's on your bucket list so she asks you know question about what's on your bucket list what do you have left to do and he replies you and if you take it the wrong way it could be seen like she's saying that she wants to do and that's that's what's on his bucket list but also if you look at it another way he could be meeting the interview with you that's all that's left on my bucket list needs being kinda charming at least that's what his publicist said that he meant but everybody's a little sensitive right now they'll be looking at things it with different eye glasses in and seeing you know our people being smarmy in in weird and sexual or are they just trying to be you know flirty and charming is it was sonic the hedgehog worth a full press tour yeah well I mean any movie is because when you invested you know millions and millions tens of millions hundreds of millions of dollars in a movie you got to get the word out there and you know Jim Carey is a is a guy that generates headlines a lot of the time so you want your stars to be interviewed for the movie and and get stuff out there the movie itself you know it's had some problems of course when the first trailer was revealed and sonic had very human like peace and people were very freaked out by it and the reduced studio paramount responded and said we've got a change some stuff so they took they took some time to go back to the special effects in the change the teeth and cutting his lanky long look in the they put his eyes closer together to make them a little more cartoon liking and cuter and it looks like it might it might have worked the because it's going to top the box office this weekend it could head towards fifty million dollars it had three million dollars in previews last night which is a decent but the movie itself eight great I mean I don't know I I've played sonic the hedgehog when I was a kid on the Sega and I enjoyed it I don't know that I need a movie and Jim Carey I mean two camps of him I like the Truman show Jim Carrey I like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind Jim Carey I don't like over the top ace Ventura Jim Carey and this is very very much over the top Jim Carrey plays the evil Dr Robotnik in here and he is a lot to handle this with there have been a bad reviews I've seen for this will Ferrell Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus says situation of marriage comedy called down hill yes arable reviews I've seen them in some okay reviews and then some terrible reviews basin yeah mostly getting mixed reviews it's weird because this is a it's a it's a comedy with will Ferrell usually that's a big opening you know you get you'd make a lot of money and Julia Louis Dreyfus as well to fantastic comic actors but it's not getting great reviews it's a remake of a two thousand fourteen Swedish black comedy and it's basically this family and they go to take on a ski vacation in the Alps and there's an avalanche and during the idle and this is all in the trailers are not giving anything away really there in the in during the avalanche the the snow is coming down and will Ferrell's character instead of saving his family in shepherding them to safety he grabs his phone and and takes off and that kind of turns into you know is this marriage are we compatible is it working out and it goes from there it's it's it's a dark comedy it's rated all our and it's not gonna make a lot of money this we can look at maybe four million dollars or the or the estimates and that's that's a really low bank that's only four million more than you're gonna make this weekend fantasy I fantasy island really have to talk about it looks horrible the bloom house people put together some very questionable movies but the photograph that looks good that that's if you're into you know love and say that's the most Valentine's the day style movie isn't it all right yeah if you're looking for something to take the loved one to photographs would probably be the best of all the options either raise stars in that she's from in secure on HBO she's the creator and star of that she's a fantastic voice in the industry right now very funny and up and coming stars against l'equipe Stanfield who is also one of those kind of up and coming a very popular actors you got Chelsea Peretti in here a little raw power he and Courtney B. Vance leave a great cast and this also getting very good reviews probably gonna make around fifteen million or so this weekend same is around fantasy island and and fantasy island you're right I mean they didn't preview it for critics so there were no reviews before that and they also strangely didn't have Thursday night previews is usually you know movies open on Friday but you can go Thursday night and with a horror movie they didn't have that either so that tells me that they're scared of it but we'll see what happens this week well remember keep the water bubbly and the speed out of your peach crease J. ABS wall but what if I like it might be true I don't yeah well like just recorded thanks a Saturday no I I left some I looked him dead air on the end of that.

"Love the global awareness we've created and we all some sex scandal and made it a movement as opposed to just kind of going away the the harvey thing it just really changed not only our industry but all industries when we launched we be united with farm workers restaurant workers domestic workers hotel workers fast food workers. I mean the women everywhere encounter sexual harassment at a crazy <hes> percentage and so i think the global awareness <hes> to talk about it first yes and then to make sure shifting moment. The gender pay gap has to be the biggest thing right now right. It's so big thing. I mean for for us in europe because you know <hes> in in california we're in new york and new york is much less progressive state than california right so for all of us. I think in new york we were proudest that cuomo has just adopted the the time's up safety agenda which extends statute of limitations on sexual assaults. That's it's great which is a really really small here so so we we really feel proud of what we've done till it's very good the go-to alexa from new york hi alexa. What's your question handy <hes>. If i love you i'm doing it. I love you to my questions for actually on <hes> hats to on. Have your kids or will they ever see your mortgage. Fan movies like boogie nights or are they like absolutely not you mom how not pedophilia oh god no no no no first of all the thing about kids. They're not interested in anything you do right so so happily it's never been it's never been an issue <music> but they do have limited interest in what you do. They wanna see you as a mom and i think that they do know that there are some movies that they want to stay away from because it's gonna make the male one you want to say and they're there. There are seventeen and twenty one so they can make a very conscious choice about it. Well it's game time. Internet internet is only five foot two inches tall which means she packs more talent per inch than most people but she also has to do things like this while directing you posted that photo i love it. Let's honor eva pint-size beers with around are shorter than either. It's easy. I'm going to show oh you a female celebrity. You will both gossip. They are shorter than eva. Ladies of this takes feel huge. It's just because the subjects are so tiny. Let's play okay okay. Kristen bell is she shorter than eba ladies. Yes shorter no no. She's not okay. Let's see what i do believe. He's waste eight. You agree julianne. She's five feet tall okay. She is is fighting cardi b. Is she shorter than she is a little taller ooh okay what about the queen of country dolly parton is she. Shorter and evil might be my height. I think she's she's the city of those platforms. She is shorter that he owns okay. What about courtney carshield. Is she shorter than eva she she seems told me and my the shortest i love it. How do you let's ruby. She is jada pinkett against smith okay. She is. She's five feet theory. Washington is now she's they're going to do. What natalie portman is she shorter. I think the aim <music> four she using in schaller julia julia louis dreyfus taller taller unused guzman directed this film and so any love scenes to to be jealous over air zone. I had to kiss his best friend in the bathtub but it seemed fine with hosting i know all right but he he wrote. This is an adaptation of a danish film the same name and we also produce this together so really yeah something. "And so it just seems like a real miscarriage of justice for like I would prefer a blinking snub to this particular combination of nominations so that's interesting. I was surprised that <hes> homecoming the Amazon on series didn't get nominations. I'm especially in opera. Julia Roberts because you know it doesn't feel like that long ago whenever that when a giant celebrity made a T._v.. Show it was a big deal <hes> and it was like Oh my God. Can you believe it doesn't feel like they're stooping to do ATV but it still feels like a surprise <hes> and yeah homecoming wasn't particularly buzzy. I think that maybe Kinda had a brief moment and then sort of receded into the General Scrum of P T._v.. But still you know when Julia Roberts can't get an emmy nomination that just shows how competitive the market is and just how many shows there are yet it is interesting because fleabag <hes> kind of launched Amazon to a good year you know with Mazel and fleabag they've kind of they've got to back to back yeah all Maazel nominations. It got the most nominations after game of thrones <hes> which I guess just show Sonia that you and I are D- what the only people who didn't likes listen to this surprising to me. I don't understand what they see it but this really does go back to this whole thing about their now. They're locked in there watching the show Oh and then it's like there's just so much more room to give them some leeway. I guess with me with talent with style. It still looks beautiful. I'll give and they also like nominated like I don't think Luke Kirby got a nomination for the first season but he plays Lenny Bruce Awesome is really great like a it gives room for the deep bench of people who are on that show right. Yes it's not just Rachel rows ahead and Alex Abortion and actually speaking of House of cards <hes> Robin Rate and Michael Kelly Net nominated which again I think indicates that like even when these shows our lake disgraced or ending cancelled or whatever when people are locked in when when voters are locked in there still watching these shows they care about yeah. I think I think that was kind of like a I was somewhat expecting robin right to get nomination as a sort of like good job you for soldiering. I don't know I don't know rhapsody thing like usurp. The bad man mission you've got rid of the Batman and you carry it on Youtube Michael Kelly you did it. I don't know the I did want to talk about something that that Mike in Mike's Absence I was on the Mike loves to talk about which is the like double triple threats or whatever they get nominated so Jason Bateman getting nominated for acting and directing Natasha Leeann getting nominated for acting and writing for Russian doll phoebe while bridge acting and reading fleabag Bill Hader directing writing enacting berry and these these triple double threats are the people that Mike Lakes Assay often win like it's why you see like sort of like Donald Glover's. I'm like you know like a ah the when someone has so many talents brimming over so many talents that the television county often likes to award them with a win but do we think in that actress category and the Comedy Series Actors category does anyone have actual actual shot against Julian louis-dreyfuss or is this just like sort of the victory lap for Julia and veep. I think that the moon would have to crash before anybody one that emmy besides Julia Julia Louis Dreyfus Yeah. It's really hard to imagine especially because she didn't win. Last year like Richard Brosnahan got her year to try it so it doesn't feel as exhausting as it might have if it were just a nonstop streak. It's not just the cheapest great. It's not just the Julia Louis Dreyfus Great. It's that that it was last season's that she had cancer. The narrative is all the lineup of actresses who were nominated leg. It's such an amazing group of people like it is just exciting to think about the mall in one place and like Tasha Leone talking if he'd be waller bridge edge talking to Catherine O'Hara oh my God Catherine O'Hara getting nominated Hillary mentioned Shits Creek at the top but like we talked a little bit about it last week is a show that kind of got bumped.
