"juju" Discussed on The MMQB Podcast with Peter King

"And now my conversation which is going to be. It's going to start off a little choppy. Because i wanted to see juju schuster's bog the french bulldog boosy and i actually showed him my dog chuck of recording from my apartment in brooklyn. And so you sorry you won't be able to see boosy and he won't be able to see chuck but i mean hey go on my instagram page. Gone his and you'll see a lot oji on my instagram page. Peter king eight. Which is my instagram account Go on my instagram page. You'll see a lot of trump but Here's my conversation which are recorded on monday. Would juju smith schuster of the ten in pittsburgh steelers. all right. we're recording is bougie anywhere in sight. He sees he's around okay when he comes around. You don't wanna see him seeing right at the beginning and then we'll get this. Do you wanna bring him at some point. Brianna chimaera comedian chuck walker. Jean all right. Hang on one second. All right judy. Say hi to chuck out it. Certainly no rescue golden retriever. Ause how old is he. He's five bush years. Yeah burji has two hundred and thirty six thousand followers. Yeah that's approximately two hundred and thirty. Three thousand northern may famous french bulldog pittsburgh men. They love listen to him. He's got a good voice so so juju. I'm going to start by just asking you. Does you know your ten in own now with with the steelers and you've got this this great platform in you have so much fun but on thursday. The national dog show is going to be held on. Nbc at noon before your game that night against the baltimore ravens. So i'm going to ask you what would you rather have. Would you rather have buji win the national dog show or would you rather beat the baltimore ravens. That's that's a hard choice than i. Love my dog to death and then winning the national dog show the awesome But it's rarely ever get a thursday night football and maybe nfl for years. I never had a thanksgiving thursday night football. So this is my first son. Probably have to say the baltimore ravens right. I get that juju on sunday in your game chase claypool your fellow receiver on the steelers scored a touchdown any did something in the end zone that nobody could figure out what in the world he was doing yoga and then somebody finally found out. Hey wait a minute. it's juju smith schuster birthday. Would you please explain what exactly happened in the end zone. Yes basically how went down. Was they want the team to come up with a situation or are receivers. Are running backs tight. Like you'll review score touchdown celebrations producers birthday. So i came up with idea of using a foot. Candle lighting it in obviously everybody happy birthday to me and then just blurted it out. I think it's pretty cool unique Very different but i try and twenty four This so did. Did your teammates really sing. Happy birthday in the end zone. They did they did. It did really quick because we knew we knew we had a short period. Time bar celebration Before we go so yeah that's got to be one of the craziest end zone celebrations in. Nfl history. are you proud of it. I'm very very proud very cool. You know To plan my birthday debate the jaguars obstacle now There's so many things. And like i said this is awesome distribution part in tablet to pay my brothers because usually my family doesn't come out Just because what's going on with kobe and plus they're far away there in l. a. and i'm already out here so. Do is nice to have him around. Planted them you know what is really interesting about your team right now because obviously in the nfl things move so fast teams change so quickly and you know when you got to the nfl. It was basically you know antonio brown lay beyond been. It was a big. It was a big star team. And now you still have stars. But it's all new and you guys are all young all year receivers twenty five and younger. You know you deontay. Johnson and and chase claypool. I mean the whole the whole group. So what has that been like kind of transforming from more of a veteran team to now it's more of almost it's such a young team and that's funny you say that because you know twenty five is obviously being Out of all the is. I'm probably the most that. I'm a veteran intergroup. Just because the years. I played on a team. You know four years you know. Playing with ben and samantha and coach t. causes the new young money. were young or renew. Renew so has definitely for us is definitely different. But you know. I'll tell you one thing about you. Know the same in on previous everybody on his team is is unselfish. There's there's Selfishness on who gets the ball whose scores catches you having yards. it's all about. It's a team sport and we win together and so far we have been doing is winning. you know. sometimes you can tell guys will say things like that. But sometimes when there's like a wide angle replay of a touchdown and you see you comes over to celebrate the touchdown and maybe there's one guy who doesn't come over you say well everybody says it's a team and i don't care who gets the glory but this guy looks a little ticked off. He's not getting the ball. But there's been a couple of times this year where chase claypool obviously is kind of breakout. Star makes a big player. Scores a big touchdown. And you are sprinting to get to chase claypool. You noticed. celebrate with them. So why are you that way. And what is it about your team. That makes you guys this way. You know for always been a person to everybody you know especially on my teammates you know what the best I think in my previous years we've always had A player who Felt different about when i scored or another another person scored and you can tell who's that who's celebrating. We celebrate the team team sport. So i realized you know young rookie coming in. He's balling ten ten ten games touchdowns house young rookie doing his thing. I'm just so happy for him. You know i'm happy for him for his family. You know he's he's come a long way and the all come along way to get to herat today so this is a blessing and just enjoying every moment of it as a team I think this is the closest ever man. You know our defense offense. We talked a hand behind each other. I'll give each other praises and no matter how the game is going. There's been situations where we we've been down on offense and we have to come back in fight to win the game but all-star data's being able to stop the their offense and you know we we stick together as one so We always they were innocent. So that's just how he is brothers..

"You're going somewhere even if you're just staying home in this sort of odd year for thanksgiving really hope you get to listen to this podcast particularly of my conversation with alex. Smith is many of you know. The washington quarterback two years ago was in significant. Trouble is life and his right leg which was very nearly amputated. You'll hear the story here and you'll hear reason. I wanted to have him on. This week is that. I know alex smith he doesn't Lie around feeling sorry for himself and he certainly didn't when that happened so it's been two years since that since that moment and he wants everyone happy thanksgiving and i know he's going to have one as well also this week. Juju smith schuster. Now i'll tell you the story. About how juju smith schuster is on this show one of my coworkers at nbc. Sports tests quinlan Who along time ago. I coach on a girl softball team in montclair new jersey. Said you know. Hey we got the dog show on this year. The national dog show which is thursday at noon. Eastern on nbc. And maybe you could get juju smith schuster because he's got this really cute dog of his french bulldog named boosy and maybe he could come on and talk about the dog show so i started to think that's probably not going to happen then. I said why not. Let's try to get juju. Smith schuster on to talk fuji and the dog show and so therefore i did and he said yes. So you'll hear juju in fact there's gonna be video floating around a shot of judas. French bulldog who has by the way over two hundred thousand instagram filers. Buji the dog So we have a good conversation with juju smith schuster and also about how much he really wants to undefeated with this dealer teams. You'll you're from. Alex smith and doodoo smith schuster. Were putting the podcast out a little bit early this week. Just because you know. There's no real reason to wait. I had both of these conversations. Done and i thought maybe you would. You might wanna hear these conversations early this week in holiday week but before i start in i just want to tell you just a little bit about how the sausage is made my job and then a little bit about of the conversation i had on sunday night That sort of led me to to write the column that i wrote this week a football morning in america you know as many of you know read my column. I talked to people on the phone during the day and try to do some stories about stuff that was hot that day in the nfl. Just it so happened than in week. Eleven i thought that the lead of my column was probably gonna be about a taste. Some hill of the new orleans saints starting his first game after being on the saints for three years and i got pay some mail to talk about it sean. Payton coach of the saints. They're both very good. So sit down to watch to write it in on sunday night is i was there was writing. I had the tv on. Because i'm an old man now. And i don't deal well with distractions while i'm trying to writing so i can't look up in the end that will create the great football game so i stuck writing early in the third quarter and i started watching this game. I was transfixed by a so many of you. I bet worthy the las vegas. Kansas city game where kansas city in the second half of this game came back from deficits of seventeen fourteen Twenty four twenty one and thirty one twenty eight. I think those and they kept coming back. Because i believe we are watching right now. The michael jordan of the nfl. In fact i had although headline on my piece in the column. We're watching jordan. So i texted the to pr people of the kansas city chiefs ted cruz and and brad g and i said if there's any way i can get hose afterwards if you guys win i'd love to be able to talk to so you know you have to know in this business. Don't ask for. Patrick mahomes very often maybe two or three times a year at most and so they were very good to me afterwards. obviously chiefs win the game. Thirty five thirty one and may get me mahomes eight minutes before. He's been run out of a skit on a plane back to kansas city. And what i found. So interesting is what i always find out. Mahomes mahomes does not mainland these little conversations. Because he knows that i think he knows that i like the little inside. What really happened. You know during these bribes. So i asked them about this final drive and and essentially you know right at the end of the game. Wanna know what really really happened in the game and so i asked him so that that final timeout xactly happened. When you were driving with less than a minute to go maybe thirty. Thirty five They've got second in seven and the ball is vegas twenty two and they called their final. Timeout goes to the sidelines and he's got a play in mind that he absolutely wants to run. He goes to the sidelines in and he sees. Eric is office coordinator says. Hey there's a player. I really wanna run tells. The play he goes. Well that's good. That's good but what about this point. Any tells them the play that they ended up. Running home said hey. I i like that play a lot and as he said to me afterwards he said that's what i really love about our offense that they take my ideas. I dare ideas. I'm out there. And i respect the fact that they say. Well what do you think. Because he's you know. I'm i'm out there kind of in the in the battle and so he went from the idea that he really liked to the idea. They liked and he said okay..

Kate Winslet Managed to Hold Her Breath for 7 Minutes

"Long do you think you can hold your breath. i don't know no learning sack minute. Well showy try it. Kate winslet just set a record for holding her breath underwater to film a movie scene. She was an underwater scene for avatar. Two and she held her breath for seven minutes and fourteen seconds. No way now that beats the old record set by unsurprisingly tom cruise. Tom cruise held the record for the longest breath. Hold while filming underwater previous to this for mission impossible rogue nation when he went six minutes holding his breath. That's insane kate. Winslet said it was brilliant. And i was very proud of myself and i'll probably never be able to do that again. It came at the end of four weeks of intense training and it was in the dive tank. It was in the training tank. But i loved it so neither kate nor tom will break the real breath holding record anytime soon of you ever heard what the actual guinness record is for. David blaine hold it now. Alec alexey cigarette vendrell. Whoever that is twenty four minutes and three seconds. How do you live.

Seventeen of the twenty my husband took last few hours because he just needed to and we made it and we've been traveling and we've been very cautious about where we were traveling loads of road trips because we have that travel bug still and I think it's been so nice to be able to see the country from a new perspective. That's pretty cool. So how has it been doing road trips with how does is now? So Isaac is seven and a half months and we. Seriously Daniel? One of the one of the best things to go through go through pregnant the go through the Labor and everything. But then when they're like four or five months, maybe five months I don't know how old lake the lake good time to do it but sleep training because yeah. Then all of a sudden you're like, wait a second I I, slept through the night and the baby's okay and he's he's still likes me. So, let's start off with basic question although for you this is. Not a basic question Skim your resume for us. Oh. Wow. XSET's Wil Eddins and Clinton Sparks on Music & Merch in Esports

"Also just the overlap of celebrity with gaming that we've seen and how that also translates into Church Street. We're so starting pretty broad couldn't I guess I'll start with you with someone who has deep into the top level of the music industry. How have you seen Stars changed their perspective on gaming the last few years. It really feels seen a lot of acceptance of gaming and embracing of gaming from a lot of the most popular musicians of the world. Well, I mean, it would behoove them to get familiar with the community in an industry that is as large as gaming in E Sports is because they have their music which is also a big component in streaming and gaming so it would be advantageous for them to get familiar with that wage base. So they can interact with those celebrities are streamers and games over there to get more exposure for their music but a lot of a lot of athletes and in artists are Gamers themselves off. So, you know used to be two separate things these guys over here and those guys are over there and you know throughout my career. I've always been the bridge between different Industries and connecting them together. So that's one of the things that we did really big at our last organization that we intend on doing even bigger here at exit. So, yeah, I think gaming in in in I said this before gaming in music has always been always been basically dating they've been like a booty call and it just never committed. You know, I mean, I think just now they're actually realizing like, oh, we really love each other like why why are we like hanging out more about Netflix and chill? So I think that's kind of what's happening with music and Gamers and streaming and and musicians all together now, It's been pretty crazy. I think a lot of it started with the Drake and ninja fortnite stream, but prior to that people like Deadmau5 were on Twitch way before it really took off as a platform and there's you know, quite a bit of sampling of video game music over the years and tons of this different crossover will as you've seen it from a merchandising and fashion perspective. We've seen Esports and gaming has become things that a lot of artists like to wear onstage that athletes are walking into games with how have you seen that change and how and building as somebody who built phase into one of those brands that have seen odd the chests of many different celebrities. How does the crossover of celebrity into gaming help you from a merchandising and fashion perspective. So I you mentioned the juju moment with Drake and Travis like I mean, I remember being in the office with Greg and Clinton just saying like wow, this shit is validated now, like like the mass. The youth in urban and pop culture is not Embrace Esports and gaming. So I was like, you know, since we have such an extensive background in a parallel fashion, I was like, we need to start reaching out to our friends and family that are also still like, you know, not very like familiar with e sports but like if we were to reach out to them and let them know like Now's the Time like do projects with the Esports organization like we would break ground. So I mean getting getting product onto like whether it's celebrity or just like, you know, the day-to-day gamer or the cool guy or cool girl in school. Like I just thought like we just need to, you know, reach out to Heritage brands that you know, the E Sports gamer communities are ready have a brace and wearing on a daily and just you know outfitting and working at it into their you know, their closets by merging, you know, that these sports or gamer brands with them. It's it was it was a no-brainer, you know, like people, you know, people walk all you know walking sneakers and he's he's all day but our Nikes but how cool would it be if it was paired off with an E sports or gamer bread, you know, so it was an easy. Was it easy marriage? So to speak absolutely those Partnerships are so crucial when building a Brand New Jersey too big a massive icon and in the same time frame. Coincidentally, we've also seen all the major athletic apparel Brands Nike Adidas Champion Puma all do a lot more work in Esports and gaming in general. So there's been a ton of those crossover opportunities as you now move to exit where you've got a new brand that was created just this last summer is now working at a bunch of different games side a bunch of celebrities or some of the challenges in building this new brand into one that encompasses that same level of passion that you see for other stray dog. Brad's at the gaming world, right? I mean, I don't think there's any there's any challenges if you don't mind me jumping in there cuz we're dope and we're doba what we do and we plan on different people build stuff. So I will can add on to that. But yeah, I mean he's right right, but you know, we we've learned how to Pivot and understand what we're doing is super new in that we don't have an existing. We didn't have an existing audience. You know, we we came straight out the gate and we knew if we were going to do it we had to come with some heat or just something where it would make it a great impression. So I mean the challenges are a like a month. It's going to be trying to find who your customer is and what they'd like and if they would like, you know, the things that we're presenting based off our tastes and you know the design that we're putting out so it's like you're you're basically throwing out a line and seeing what kind of fish you can catch right and then the other thing is, you know, supply chain like pre covid-19. Big problem, you know Finding inventories and and blanks and you know even just working with companies during this time was like the the time lines and production often times where hard to work with so we had to we had to work along those lines and figure it out. So we also be at home about it because

"juju" Discussed on Fantasy Football Today Podcast

"Sixty. Seconds rankings disputes SORTA. We could probably skip this one Joe Mixing Jamie's got him sixteenth NPR thousand tenth skip it. I just WANNA say about Joe. Mixon. Because I've always been down on Joe Mixon I'm really irritated it when I come around to him being a top twelve back, everybody else jumps off but fourteen targets in his past two games. That is the most targets he's ever had in his two game stretch. What Jamie said about David Montgomery ranking him higher pr for the first time ever this was the first time ever I ranked mix and higher CPR as well. I think it's a good setup for him. Various Leonard is out. In that, you know. The top like. Maybe twenty, certainly eighteen running backs. It's a pretty group this week you know especially when you factor in James Robinson still doing what he's doing Mike Davis doing he's doing you know all those guys hopefully still Ronald Jones And like Antonio Gibson I think has a good opportunity week against the giants. If he's healthy with you know Brandon Sheriff back. So there's there's a, there's a good solid number, two group of running backs and I like mixing this isn't a I don't like mixing things just like I. There's a few other guys I like a little bit better than like I would start gasping over mixing NPR, and that probably sounds where. The jets spas gas facing the jets only one teams give it up more rushing touchdowns than the jets two running backs. I, believe that is the panthers. So you know there's that match keep Jordan Howard on the inactive list like, yeah. Yeah. I mean it's just a point that it's not a great matchup on paper for Joe Mixon but you guys just the workload you like and the fact they've only played one game without Darius lender. They did pretty well against Kareem Hunt, even though he caught a touchdown but he's still scored. A lot of points. So mix of start sixteenth for Jamie tenth for heath NPR six th for Jamie Fourteenth Heath Pr. How about Robert Woods Robert Woods is a is a top twelve wide receiver for Jamie technically thirteenth NPR also, for Dave Heath. Got Twenty four sitting Robert Woods. But you got him twenty third and twenty second and non PR and weird that he's not much higher and ours is not catching or getting a lot of targets at San Francisco Sunday night. He's so just just a little bit lower on Robert Woods. Yeah, and I don't I don't really like it I feel like I've kind of been the Robert Wood Guy many times but you look at his targets over the last month five, six, seven five, and that's fine for a number two receiver it's it's difficult to be an elite number one and that I think this match against San Francisco's good with the way they're playing right now but I would expect division game after what just happened against the the defense is going to be better than it was against the dolphins. So I'm probably starting woods I'm just not excited about doing it. I think you're right. The defense will be better. They just don't have the bodies to get the defense better right now that's a very banged up defense banged up secondary the strength this team is still defending the run. So I think they'll be able to slow down the rams running game and I do think that this could be a game where the rams half the throw. So I'm gonNA guess that woods and copper still going to get as many targets as they could handle were they've been you know in that hasn't been very high but you know at on one or two more teach guy and so I think the setup is better for the passing. All Right Juju Smith Schuster sixteenth for Jamie Twenty eighth for Heath in non PR and right about the same for NPR, Jamie Faith and Juju this week heath you got him as a number three receiver Jamie kick it off against the Cleveland browns without third most fantasy points to receivers. I had him close to twenty four before Ben. Rothlisberger spoke yesterday and was praising Juju for being such a good teammate and celebrating Chase Klay Pool and the performance that he had, and then just started to turn turn turn and you know a big game is coming for do it as do the matchup is fantastic two of three games with them rothlisburger against the browns last three games. With Rothlisberger Monster Performance, you mentioned the secondary's banged up. They just put greedy Williams on I r there's GonNa be a big game for Ben a big game for. And I feel like actually having to. Did you like my squeaky wheel. was. Okay because people pointed I use that for crickets but people like that should be your squeaky wheel. So thank you people who he's not feeling it twenty eighth twenty ninth for Juju. Can you rewind what I said about? Robert, woods. It's five or six targets every week and I thought I read the Ben Rothlisberger quotes much differently than Jamie did and Jamie's interpretation of the quote could be correct. My interpretation was man he is still salty ab like I thought he was just taking a shot Antonio Brown because he was never happy for anyone when they had success. then it could have been either it could have been both. But Yeah I, I, just I don't have a good read on why they are not treating juice Mr as the number one wide receiver but he was dominated and targets by Dante Johnson. The first two weeks Johnson gets hurt the next two weeks and like Chase Klay Pool as fifty percent more targets and Juju the past two weeks. Eric Hebron has more targets James. Washington has more targets and that was when Johnson went down. So I don't. I don't know. I mean, logically, you absolutely make sense we had peepers go on with US Wednesday on. If you recall what he said he in regards what teams are probably doing against you that you know he's the guy they're trying to take away especially when you have an unproven second-year receiver in the Johnson unproven rookie in April and now this is Pete. Speaking that he looks Ben Osbert looks more comfortable. You know if the last week was the most. Free he was playing you know after coming back from the elbow surgery may be being a little bit tentative in how things were going to go and so just look again match up if they can keep myles Garrett away from him from then I think he kind of do whatever he wants and so I wouldn't be surprised capable plays well, do as well. Maybe Iran. Scores especially the ententes out then you get a little bit more some concentrated targets for hopefully those three and then maybe Washington mixed in as well. Okay I'm pretty satisfied with our sixty second rankings disputes..

NFL suspends all activities for Titans after positive COVID-19 cases

"Few players from Tennessee titans tested positive for in nineteen, which has prompted the NFL from suspending all activities bore the titans until more tests come out well, they came out The three titans week for opponent are the three steelers initial reports said that the game would be postponed until Monday or possibly even Tuesday. But an additional titans player tested positive on Thursday morning, which led to the temporary cancellation of this contest. The Titans and steelers will not be playing their game this week and the NFL must find a way to rescheduled game by maneuvering weeks and or even possible that the game may be lost. We don't really know yet by the way. NFL has spoken about issues such as this. It seems like they'll do whatever they can within reason to reschedule the game. As we know, the sport of football is a lot different than other sports and rescheduling games could be an issue due to the nature of the sport, but we're GonNa have to see what transpires throughout the year. This may not be the only time that something like this actually occurs and when it happened with the Saint Louis Cardinals Baseball, they could just reschedule doubleheaders at our seven. Years later in the season and kicked, that can down the road. I don't know if you can do that in the NFL is such a physical game and players need time to rehab throughout a week. They need time to heal because our bodies are so sore after a football game but. As. Of Right now, take Juju. James Connor. Big Ben King Henry Corey Davis Tanna Hill and whoever you were starting out of your lineups and adjust sucks I know hopefully some of you are in leagues where Your Commissioners on top of coordination and they allow you to drop without penalty and pick up after the week where no one else in you your league can go in and scoops. You dropped him connor no, one can pick them up and just be reassigned to your team from assuming not all leagues have that kind of freedom. Or that type of commissioner a Kinda does take a lot of work got enforcing laws to which are pretty cool right

5 tropical cyclones are in the Atlantic at the same time for only the second time in history

"Tonight for the first time in nearly fifty years. They've ocean is home to five rapidly growing named tropical cyclones with one hurricane sally set to slam into the southern coast tomorrow for the very latest I'm joined by ABC News. Chief meteorologist Ginger Zee now Ginger Hurricane Sally is clearly strengthening as it approaches your location in Alabama? Where do you see the storm heading? Juju I'm in the heart of mobile and you've got things like that building with sandbags in front of it, and that is for good reason from here back through coastal Mississippi that's where the brunt of the storm is going to impact. So let's look at on the satellite got lot better organized as we went through today, and that's going to keep going as it moves really painfully slow to the West northwest it will finally start to make that northern tick tomorrow afternoon and evening, and we expect landfall sometime around midnight or thereafter early Wednesday morning. So this is a slow. Storm that means that rain is going to be a big time issue and part of the slowdown is that stationary front making it almost defense you see we stopped the clock at about midnight. It looks like it should make landfall somewhere close to Pascagoula Mississippi if it does by the way, make landfall in Mississippi as a cat to that's the strongest we've seen in. Mississippi. Since Katrina in two thousand five that looks like wrong place wrong time. Now, there are always multiple threats as a storm approaches. There are already dire storm surge projections. What worries you the most about Sally. Storm surges what loses most life and property and storms. So six to nine feet in some places others up to eleven. Let me break it all down for you get warnings all the way from eastern Louisiana through the Florida panhandle. Now, it breaks down and closer to the center of the storm. In the northeast quadrant, we call it the dirty side of the storm. That's where you'll pick up some of the hefty so. From Mobile Bay. Back through deloise pass Christiane that's where we're most concerned. Now we also have rainfall and I don't want anyone if they're inland to say, Oh, this is just a coastal storm. By no means, you get fifteen to twenty inches on top of that storm surge right at the coast. That's not good especially here in mobile but go up to Gumri or even Atlanta and you could see a half a foot arrange.

6 New Travel Mistakes To Avoid Thanks To The Pandemic

"Thinking of traveling with its domestically internationally anytime in the next year, there's a whole bunch of watch outs need to know and mistakes that other travelers making that you need to avoid if you're thinking of travelling during this whole pandemic situation that we find ourselves in Alabama. This is tips for travelers I wanNA talk about things you really need to know some things have going to discuss includes. Using travel agent or self booking higher hall packing situation can change the big mistakes that people making that you need to avoid, and probably the single most important thing you need to think about platform and know exactly what you're going to do when you're traveling in the current situation. The first key watch out is when you're thinking of travelling is assume that everything will change change very quickly. So even if you can go to certain country today or to certain state. Today that could change overnight and we've seen lots of examples happen where it's perfectly fine to fly to particular country like Spain for example, out of the UK but within hours of that could change. So countries are constantly evolving and looking at what they see as safe places to travel with you have to have quarantined with you go in with you have when you return and it changes really fast. I have had friends get on a plane heading off to Spain. For example, they've arrived learned that the UK government was about to bring in quarantining midnight got on the plane and come back because they didn't want to go into fourteen day quarantine. So when you think about traveling assume that things can change very quickly and it's really really important that you stay on top of all the advice you need to say, well, connected to the news what I recommend you do is try and book as last minute as you possibly can. You also like to get really good deals nowadays by booking last minute. So you booking when you know that the chance of everything going smoothly is pretty smooth. It's really hard now to book in advance because we just don't know what the situation is going to be. Secondly, if you book even if you're booking way ahead is ensure that everything is council refundable off movable. So if change you can move things around without any penalties. The good news is a lot of. Providers with airlines or cruise lines or hotels are making it much easier to things that absolutely critical make sure that things are cancelable, refundable and easy to move. So you can basically go with the flow. The second big watch out is that if you do your own booking which I used to like to do I'd like to my hotel separately my flight separately my accommodation separately whatever it was separately. One thing you might want to decide is don't do that book at all through a travel agent the reason being that if you have to change things, it becomes very complicated because it's four or five different context 'cause. To change things if you've booked everything through a travel agent, it's one call one email and you can sit back and let them get on with everything. You'd have to sit on phone lines for five hours, six hours to try and get through to change flights. It takes an enormous amount of stress out it makes things much simpler. So even if you a sort of person that likes to pick and mix juju thing I strongly recommend that you book through a travel agent I've seen examples now doing with all my travels over this period of time is using a travel agent to make it simple. The great news is. Also particular abroad, and you have connectivity issues or this time difference issues with that one call that one email you can basically relax keep common that happens it's been a great plus in the positive traveling when there's been lots of disruptions able to contact the agency that time was Monday cruising I convinced it back relax to the beach while everyone else was scarring around and I knew they were sorting out problems. So seriously think about using travel agent at this point tiger, he can manage all of the changes or the refunds, and basically a very importantly linked to my first point make sure that you know exactly the. Situation as changes, they will keep on top those potential cancellations and changes in quarantine rules or whatever the third watch that I have, and this is a really really important one as well is don't assume that everything has returned to normal I. Think one of the big mistakes that people making is they seem their everything today. When it comes to travel is back to normal. There are three critical things that you need to bear in mind. First of all, you need to absolutely check and make sure that everything is open just because lockdowns are ending it doesn't mean that everything is open some things may have even gone bankrupt. Just simply not opening because for whatever reason, they are able to come regulations that country letting them open the beaches may not be having you might have to book to go to the beaches you might have book time started to pool. The attractions may not be open they. You might have to have certain restrictions before you can go into see the site of the museum that you wanted to see the theme parks may not be entirely open early civil rights might be open. So there's a multitude things you need to make sure that are open before you actually decide that is what you want to go because you might be able to do what you really want to do secondly. Things may not run as you used to expect them to. Or maybe very different. So for example, many islands in the Caribbean. Some states in the US, some countries around the world requires covid nineteen test within seventy two hours of heading name for example, other countries. For example, Greece, you have to register online twenty, four hours before you go, you get a special qr courage you have to show when you check in. So hundreds and thousands of people have mystere. To Greece because they didn't understand that whole system, get the qr codes or do the paperwork correctly. So you need to assume the things are going to run differently and it's going to be really different requirements

"DOT com. Okay. Here is Juju Smith Schuster. Okay. We now welcome on a very special guest. It is Pittsburgh steelers wide receiver. Pro baller Rose Bowl. Champion got mentioned the Rosebowl Greatest. Bowl. Game in America Juju Smith Schuster. Juju thank you for joining us We got a lot of things we want to get to, but let's start with just. How are you feeling about the season starting in? Are you ready to go? Do Do you know like? Is there a plan? I mean person was like. Thank you. Guys are having here is pretty big. honesty you know I feel great I feel great with my body. Right math training. As far as the season goes Nest of an air of eastern NFL PA an NFL or right now is basically that we report hopefully. the twenty eight next week, and does definitely Rabin tests like every today's and coaches. Are Being says like every day pretty much so far so I. Think I tested. Be Tuesday, and then from there it's. You're causing tested and Redo that for about two weeks hopefully in NC, we get something to stir up so i. hope you have a season amount. You obviously like sports pretty much. One of the reasons why you know a lot of a lot of people live. Yeah go insane when there's no sports on. We barely made it through the last four months. It was like tooth and nail to get through as like a veteran as an establish guy, and your team is a part of you kind of excited. You're like hey. I only have to do like nine practices this preseason, and maybe half of those are just. Wearing shells and shorts almost definitely you know I think my rookie year death and the Guy I was pricey everyday. Scouts offense scout team. You know pretty much doing everything I can buy as a bit. Of practice in you know my playing. Time is not not as long as I as I wanna be but I just how it is under preseason, so you'll see very feel me. Other preseason in a season starts. Get Roller. So Big Ben, have you? Have you thrown the ball with him? He's he's looking so skinny. What the Hell happened! Actually Dick van now has gone. Slim Ben yes, Slim Ben. Have you ever seen him in a walking boot? I've never seen him in a walking boot. You're lying. That's fine. That's walking boots in his closet like their Tim. Slaps on the more he's. Walking boot. On. off-season we'd be working together on something that you know. He brought us together. As as a team has talked to us and in Austin to throw and work out and. You know working with him on this off season is. Pretty much back to where he's at you know one hundred percents as you guys know. He lost some weight. And that's probably the better for for him. The better for our team, so I'm super excited what he was table. You know like I, said he he'll all be big. Ben to spence the. NFL's more fun with Ben in it had when he's in the huddle. What's he like? Is He ever like Fucking Ju? Just get open like. fucking hit. You Dude like I'm throwing that wherever I want. Rich. With an eye in the huddle he's he's more of like you know. Come on, we've been before it. is nothing new this just practice. You know you worked on an. Since Day one you know. Especially when it goes to offense, we have to jot down the score. As a kid you know I grew up watching it and doing that and then. Fast fast, four or five years later on in the same huddle as him, and he's you know he's talking to me and I was like this is what it feels like but it's it's fun then like Ian Huddle you don't WanNa leave. Let nobody down so it's all about you know your teammates yet, we're. was there a like adjustment period learning how to play with him at quarterback? Because a lot of times, you'll run your route and then Ben will somehow have like two defensive ends on his shoulder pads like. Cat Ran on the field like bit his leg, and he's dragging that around got another guy around his waist, but he's still like extending that play and looking for you downfield like we're. There are some times when you cut off route and you go. He's sacked right now. Oh, Shit! He's still up. Yeah man with. Ben. You just never know what's going to happen. It's hard to back him. You know all this is and that's something that. You know in crisis. We do a lot of scramble jobs or out of jobs. You know you pretty much. Are Running. You know, let and right, and I would say half of my plays. That I've made. The season is obviously be. Broken place, yeah, how is Buji doing your dog very cute dog? Bush's lead man I was just with him right now. He's with his girlfriend. Marcia hanging out. So dog is cooler than I. Two hundred, twenty, three thousand instagram followers, boo, boo, and right now he's lit and he's hanging out with his girlfriend Porsche. That sounds like better than anyone. Else's doing right now. Man That's awesome. How long they been dating for? Osteoporosis I met so I'd say about almost two years. That's what fourteen done Bucci better. Put a ring. On offer sure you know Bush's. Trying. You know get some babies. I read that you played for Snoop Dogg as a head coach back in the day. Is that right? Did I did? Yes, what's he like as a head coach like compared to Mike Tomlin. Is Snoop Dogg Vice Guy. Which? High. Energy days. Whatever he says, it doesn't really matter because he's. and. Our team. Was legit like the all the pets..

"juju" Discussed on Behind the Steel Curtain

"Mike Evans Brandin Cooks De'andre Hopkins Adams. Dealin Jarvis. Let okay this is. This is now entering. Juju territory in my opinion okay. So you're saying Juju is between like Andrey Hopkins is sixteen. So you're saying the sweet spot is in there because a fourteen million you're talking about Alan Robinson A. T. Y. Hilton range. You're not going to save a average. I mean how you structure the contract in terms of how the salary cap hit works out saying no betting on my client. I'M GONNA I'm judy. She WanNa bet on himself because right now his stock has never been lower but if he has a good year like you mentioned he can demand a year to put me in that upper echelon of wide receivers injured. That's that's where you know. In theory it makes sense for the steelers to try and make a deal now but from a financial standpoint for the client I e Juju Smith Schuster. It's it's not a smart move you WanNa say I wanNA wait to bring this full circle? I think that we both be is an insurance policy. If you lose Juju after this year. They're they're not going to be decimated the wider situation where. Let's say you were stuck with lot less in the cupboard. Put it that way also putting yourself out there. If you get banged up again of you all of a sudden you're hurt you don't produce so yes you could elevate if that happens. They don't WanNa see that happen. Especially if it's an injury plagued thing. They want their players to be healthy. They want their more than the lodge at said. Jews in the range of eleven in Around that range and it's weird here when you look at. The average sat at eleven million mark in terms of average Larry Fitzgerald Keenan Allen. Interrail Williams. I'll give you one or two nine below that tyler boy in guarantee you if you approach. Juju would attend point seven five per average deal like tyler in Robbie Anderson at ten million Jews going to get paid more than all those players so I don't think I don't think I would say fourteen. Fourteen is his range. In my opinion fourteen. Grooving fourteen hundred students have to weigh keeping deontay Johnson Juju Washington clay with that unit works. Well there is a price to keeping it together. Then again you got. I onic digby last. Two years in the steelers are in full. Go mode trying to get that seven championship and I think that will weigh in jujubes favor when it comes to a conduct bring in some new dude. I don't WanNa rock with these three young so we can go out and try to get this with a bang. I get my seven. I mean we can get myself academically. Can you imagine the marketing seven for seven? Ben Rothlisberger get seven championship in his last year. He can't write that script better. All right let's change it up a little bit. Thirty nine ball and cookie gives us five dollars in the tip jar appreciate Daddy said. Would you say the steelers last? Two off seasons were secretly geared towards bolstering the special teams units. And how do you think they've done in that department? Why I know that something. That is a common thread between land's end myself throughout the last few seasons done the post game show is been the teams has been. It's been bad it was bad in two thousand eighteen every kick it was. It's always bad with Jordan Berry putting the football coverage units. I don't know if they're drafts. Have BEEN GEARED TOWARDS IT? I think that then drafting players that have proven to be commodities on special teams is an added bonus to the player if that makes sense. I don't think that they're they're drafting. You Know Alex High Smith in the third round as an edge rusher and saying well. It doesn't pay now. He's GonNa be a good special teams guy. No they're saying that he is a really could have a potential to be a really good edge. Rusher he could be a backup in that scenario and he's also a very capable player on special teams saying what Chase Klay Pool who we just talked about. He's a big body fast wide receiver. Who can really be bad missing? Piece of the puzzle offensively he also likes to play special teams. He registered a bunch of tackles at Notre Dame on special teams. I think the dad is like just another feather in the cap for a prospect. You AGREE OR DISAGREE LANCE YOUNG AGREE. I kind of agree and disagree Outstay this if you're if they draft you as a defensive player let's say prior to the fourth round your first second or third round pick and your contribution ends up being special teams. That wasn't their intent. Yeah they're they're intent was for you to have a significant impact in the starting eleven or sub package football you know special teams contribution is sort of like when you go to a restaurant. You've been eating number five for years. They run out of it and you have to order number seven and number seven is really good and you're like wow foul something else that. I'd like to eat a disaster on your number. Seven is what you get special teams player if you're a top draft pick if you're a lowered round draft pick. Let's say fifth to seven out put forth Canada as that Mendosa Line. If you become a Tyler Medicaid Draft Pick in you become a special teams as you can get contributions. They're they're solid with that but I don't think they're drafting Tyler Medicaid. Which with the thought that? He's going to be their special teams. Ace date like for him to contribute in the actual bass or sub package defense. So it's kind of a yes and a no but no I don't think they go out and look for special teams unless they're taking a specialist. I mean I mean that's the only time I think when you can guarantee take a special teams player. Yeah the other talking point that we wanted to get to you. Today is something you texted me as well in. This is a tough question. In my opinion it is. Where can the steelers twenty twenty defense improve? I think we're all going to admit that. It's a pretty elite group. It's a group that has high expectations put on heading into the new season. Land if you were someone that is going to pinpoint one area. Where this team can get better. It used to be the same adage. They used to always be turnover. The more turnovers led the NFL turnovers last year. So really can't go that way. Where do you think this defense can improve heading into next season? And Luckily I've done a chart for this and let me say this probably GonNa Piss off folks like you've ever shopped away from probably going to soft folks that team up north the one that no longer has the alleged goat had the best defense in the national football league last year. I think by far that defense was elite. They were elite passing defense. They were lied creating turnovers. They were an elite defense. They did not go far in the playoffs. They got beat in the first round. But I think that defense was elite. I think the steelers defense is in the same conversation with that defense talking about the Patriots that team North. You're not if you're unfamiliar with the show. I hate to say the Patriots but I'm talking about that team north. Who USED TO. Have Tom Brady. Who's now going to be a buck? And he's GonNa get bucked when he's planning for the bucks but anyway I think it's NFL. Teams opponents passing yards or touchdowns per game the steelers ranked fourteenth. They gave up about one. And a half touchdown passes per game now if you look at that compared to some other defenses that. I think we're really good so I think New England was really good on defense said the best Defense Buffalo New England ranked one in that Category Buffalo was to Baltimore Three Chicago for Green Bay five Seattle six Denver Seven Carolina Eight Dallas Nine. The chargers ten Kansas City. Eleven Jacksonville Minnesota. Then you had the steelers. The steelers were middle of the road. In terms of giving up touchdown passes per game and I found that step really surprising because I think the strength that is defense is their secondary now. One point four is a ton but we are talking about a defense. That is as good as it is. And you're looking for small areas of improvement. I think that's a small area of improve. Now if you compare that number to the worst defense in Football Miami gave up two and a half touchdown passes per game. So it's not like teams are given up four five on average but I still think that's a room for improvement for this defense. Is the number of touchdown passes the average number of Touchdown passes that they give per year their team stats defense. Stats in front of you right now. I have a couple of them. Probably not all. GimMe Gimme one of the one area that I was looking at. What was Rushing yards per game in yards per carry surrendered on average. I guess when I think back to the early two thousand defenses and that's as close to dominant his. I've seen steelers defense in my lifetime. I was not alive for the seventy steelers. The steel curtain that just completely dominated but for some reason I feel like if they were. They could do a better job suffocating. The run and especially in a division with. We've talked about it before. Maybe some of the mess the best ball carriers in the with Lamar Jackson Ingram. Obviously they got. Jk Dobbins You also have Nick Chubb. Kareem HUNT UP IN CLEVELAND Mixing in Cincinnati It's it's a situation where I'm not sure if the numbers really match up with my perception and that could definitely be the case but when I think back to those elite to thousands defenses. They were a team that never gave up. One hundred yards rushing. They if you're going to beat us it's going to be on our terms we're going to dictate what you do in. That's when I think about elite defenses. That's what I think of and I'm not sure that Louis in two thousand nineteen that they had that type of defense. There's numbers lands by chance. So the opponent's rushing yards per game against the steelers defense. The steelers were fourteenth. They gave up a hundred and nine point six per game in their last three games. They gave up a hundred and forty six per game and to your point. I think you saw how Baltimore ran the ball against them in the last game of the season and Baltimore pretty much had their way on the ground against the steelers defense. Yeah when I think about this defense in where are where's their strength. You just said it secondary's one absolutely pass Russia's the other if they can a team like Baltimore which let's be honest there now the the litmus test in the AFC north they won at the last two years they were the number one seed heading into the playoffs. I mean that's natural. That's not anything. That's that's not a cut on the steelers. That's just fact if you can force third and longs on that team you got 'em where you want him. You know what I mean. And so being able to stifle the run on early downs in not give whether it's Baker Mayfield whether it's Joe borough whether it's Lamar Jackson not giving them third and manageable is huge. I mean it's it's it's enormous. And that's when the defense can in their ears back Cam Hayward steph onto a T. J. Watt budgie pre and aken wreak havoc in the backfield. That's where I feel if I'm answering the question that you pose. How can the steelers defense get better? Steininger run more stop. The run may teams beach. You on your terms not the other way round. Here's an interesting point. Maybe we should punt this topic more cells so the Oracle when the Stack Geek. Next week hint hint pawn delve into this a little deeper. Here's an interesting thing. Although they were fourteenth in the yards per game stat they were third in yards per rush attempt at three point eight and I think that speaks to how good they were as a secondary and how good they were in terms of cash rush because you might WanNa pick your poison with that defense by running the ball. A lot as opposed to You know trying to air it out and put your put your off at risk of getting the ball intercepted and or your quarterback get sacked so the rushing yards might be a little bit artificial just because the rushing attempts are really high and I can give you the rushing attempts per game against the defense and.

Life in the Time of Corona

"A lot of emotions going on in the world. People are feeling a lot of emotion. Every minute right solicit people going stir crazy. It means a lot of stuff is coming up. And we're going to give you a little update on the corona virus. Pandemic there are now over two hundred and fifty thousand cases over ten thousand deaths. Italy has now become the country that has the highest death rate. More than three thousand. Four hundred this is surpassing China. Meanwhile there is some hopeful news that I hope we can trust. China is reporting that the rate of new infections is close to zero. I really really WANNA believe. The Chinese government and their government-sponsored media but still cove in nineteen is having a really intense impact on all of us. You know whether it's global travel whether it's the economy family members stuck someplace that can't get back you stuck in your own house. Then we have to listen to a president who is saying. Non Essential travel between the United States and Canada will be suspended. Yeah I mean not only in Canada but also on Friday the White House. They announced during a task force briefing the daily. Corona virus briefings that disclosure is now going to be extended to the. Us Mexico border starting this weekend and yeah you know both president trump and secretary of state. Mike Pompeo at the press conference. They just toss it out there like calling it. The Chinese virus and that term has been a controversy all this week for its racism and how trump administration continues to use it the A. J. A. Which is Association of Asian American Journalists Publish. A joint statement with other journalism groups essentially condemning the use of terms like that and then maybe was predictable for me. This whole notion of like now. We're closing. These borders because migrants are bringing in the virus. I mean it was so obvious at this was where it was going to go unchecked immigration. And it's clear that trump. We shouldn't be surprised that that's what he said. Because you know that's basically just plays into the trump xenophobic playbook on immigration. Of course. He's saying now that he knew about this virus all the time and he knew how seriously he was taking it. I guess we were the last ones to know on Thursday Australia and New Zealand. Both announced that they're closing their borders to foreign nationals. But I did see this picture of like a beach. I think in Australia. That was packed and I was like Kay mixed messages. Stop looking at photos of beaches. That's a really smart gate. Stop looking at photos of beaches. So you see this money up Thursday night and California. The largest state in America. California Governor Gavin Newsom. He ordered over nearly forty million people in the state to stay home which is called shelter in place except when necessary indefinitely. He said indefinitely blissett muddy at one of the things that people aren't talking about and I I mentioned Mexico. You know covert nineteen. This is a crisis also happening. In Latin America and the Caribbean in terms of travel. Most countries in South America have enforced. Some kind of restriction. Guatemala was the first country to ban foreign travellers including travelers from the US. That happened last week. The land borders in Brazil have travel restrictions now to foreign visitors are ten Dina close. Its borders completely to non-residents Chile Peru Columbia have all closed their borders completely to try to get ahead of the spread and actually one our contributors. His brother his stuck in bed waiting for the United States to get them out so he's stuck with his family. We tweeted about it and Latin America. Alone there over twelve hundred. Cova nineteen cases. And I know I'm bringing like you know bad Juju but we did share this cute little song out of Latin America for kids about washing their hands said we both tweeted. And I can't get it out of my head Alan Rightist. So that's a little that we got this week but all this money on that song or anything what is going through your mind. Well I'M GONNA learn how to do that dance. That's like a frog in that video. Sing that song. I WanNa see you. You should videotape that. That's the context. What's that thing that kids do with the the music? What's that Tick Tock? Okay so my daughter is like become expert on to talk. And she's teaching me things but look very specifically very very very specifically what I said at the top of the show which is that. Everybody is feeling this. It's getting really close to all of us in so many ways. You know my mom and my brother are in Mexico. They were supposed to come back. They live there half the year. There were supposed to come back. I don't know when I'm going to see them again. To be honest like that's happening now like we as you know. I was on my way to Mexico to report a really important story. About how in the middle of all of this virus there are people still fleeing for their lives from gang members. I was going back to Mexico to Tapa Chula to report on a young refugee who may actually be one of the lucky ones because he just got inside Mexico while because what's happening is that countries are shutting. Down was actually the first one before they had any case of covert nineteen they did a national shutdown quarantine essentially really extraordinary in terms of forward thinking. Now people think that was a smart decision. Dominican Republic has cancelled flights from Milan. Which is you know. I mean the. Dr Boondock Anna Direct flights from to the Dr This is what sustains the tourist industry is is what sustains much of the economy again. I have these images of like. How do you do proper social distancing in Latin America? The human connection being able to hug people like we like we do that. We Hook people that we hug and kiss people that we just inner DNA. We hug it out all the time. How educate you know so? I know that's happening and the other thing. I'm sure you're thinking of. Julio is the return of of authoritarianism of the troops on the street to keep people out on America if for their own safety but now who again it just memories of empty streets with tanks patrolling down them in the streets of Santiago or is or really need these are all things that have happened under the guise of a code nineteen virus that this could be. The return of it is very disconcerting. What about you? I mean I'm thinking about what the there's a lot of things happening in Puerto Rico. Curfews businesses shutting down. I'm trying to call attention to the fact that the Puerto Rican economy. Just it's shot and this is just. GonNa add more pain. Think about this. You know earthquakes now. There's covert nineteen. There's a lot of anxiety. Let's not forget the Caribbean Haiti. The Dr. You know all the Caribbean islands. That don't have the access that don't have the resources and I do believe that. He was being ignored once again by the United States. I know the federal government's having so many issues with its response in the mainland. The was not even a Blimp. But one of the things that you mentioned. Maria is the impact that the crisis at the pandemic is having on refugees and asylum seekers in when it comes to immigration in this country so this week several immigration courts have postponed hearings already last week in Immigration Court Seattle's shutdown temporarily because of the spread another thing about the immigration courts of the Department of Justice. If you actually read the document. They didn't say they're like ending hearings. Things can happen via telephone and things can happen. Be a video conferencing so I think people are thinking that everything stopping. It's not then on Tuesday. Trump like just announces that he's GonNa turn back all asylum-seekers at the southern border to prevent the corona virus spreading in detention facilities. When in fact from what I understand the spread came from the north down. You know I mean. Cases in the United States happened way before anything in Latin America. But that's what he's saying. Isis also issued a statement on Wednesday saying that they're adjusting their enforcement to focus primarily on immigrants detained for criminal reasons. So I guess we're back Obama. The ICE statement came after they arrested a man in L. A. Who is buying groceries for his family ahead of the city's call for self quarantine because he was on their list due to a past. Dui conviction so there you

Inside Iran's Underground Fashion Industry

"Global News headlines have been dominated by news out of Iran where a recent US air strike killed. Iran's most senior military leader General Qassem Awesome Sulejmani resulting in growing tensions in the Middle East back at voices. Two thousand nine. We shed some light on. Iran's underground fashioned seen team Iran is a country that we in the West know very little about but over the past few years. I've been receiving messages on instagram from young fashioned creatives. Who have written to me saying that that behind closed doors there is actually a vibrant fashion culture in Iran and they are longing to connect with all of us? It seemed like the perfect topic explore voices. Twenty nine to shed some light on Iran's underground fashion scene. We were honored to introduce four Iranian fashion creatives to share their experiences of their vibrant culture. Holzer with us and also to demystify some of our misconceptions about their country based in Chicago Hoda Khattab is the voice behind the political fashion platform. Juju Jewish and hotel opened our voices session with a powerful talk which explained how Iran's fashion economy has been impacted both by an extreme regime in Iran but also sanctions from the US UK and other Western countries. Hoda was joined by Sharon and chief of Car to self taught fashion designers and co-founders Iranian fashion label car. Who came all the way from Tehran to join us and the brilliant Iran born London based sued goal Sarky founder and editorial director of Tank magazine who interviewed Hoda Sharon and Sheva together? These four challenged our assumptions about aww country that is largely closed off from the West on this week's B. O. F. podcast go inside. Iran's fashion industry and I had this really cute flowery speech. I was excited to give but given what's happening in Iran right now. I think it's only fair to sort of take a setback and talk about the situation and kind of conceptualize that so right now. It's been almost a week in which the Iranian government has actually shut down the Internet and shooting Shiva and I couldn't even be in touch until they landed in the UK. I haven't been able to have been in touch with my family for the past near week. Either and this this sort of constant and current sort of uprising protests are really in part due to economic insecurities as sort of economic degradation of society see that has been caused by government corruption mismanagement of funds but also US and UK sanctions that have literally crippled society. Every single Iranian every single day is affected by sanctions by this country and by the United States. Things like medicine is unaffordable. Everyday curable. Diseases people are dying from because they don't have access to medical care or medicine because of the high prices food commodities everyday little things are so inaccessible accessible to every Iranian right now because of the situation so so important that yes what's happening in Iran is horrible but I think we also have to understand that the United states and the UK and many of our countries are also complicit. And what's happening right now. The reason and the difficulties that she didn't she will be talking about more both domestically but also from the sanctions that these countries are having creates a larger more complicated situation that we really need to be. unpacking and fashion is inherently political intertwined and all of this and yes obviously in Iran. There's a mandatory dress code and fashion. Maybe a little bit more political explicitly there but throughout the entire world. There is no such thing as apolitical fashion. It does not exist if anybody says fashion is apolitical. Please Punch them. This Muslim is condoning violence. I'm pleased on called prevent on me but it's true because fashion ultimately at its core is the motive communication. We're communicating something able to convey really powerful messages. Tell people about a culture about society or we're not an recyling. It and silence is complacency at a time where we truly cannot afford to. The world is fucking on. I can say fucking the world is fucking on fire right now. Aw How can we ever think that what we're creating and putting out in the world should not be engaging with us and all of us were closed and are in the business of fashion. I don't even immune that fund and yet are we actually truly grappling with the complexities of how fashion is truly political on so many levels beyond just just a slogan which could mean or not mean something based on where you're producing it Fashion is even more inherently political. If we think about production and consumption what does that mean. The majority of our clothes are produced in Southeast Asia by people who look like me and you had the majority of consumed here. In the West our whole industry relies upon and continues continues to profit from histories of imperialism genocide sanctions that have plagued the entire world and yet we still profit from it. We're living in an active empire. The British Empire still exists people are still profiting off of the fact that there is no economic growth. happening in countries countries like Indonesia because we profit from it and we value this and our entire industry is built upon it. So what does that mean and also the fact that fashion literally frames our bodies like literally every time we step outside. We're deciding how we want our body to be actually presented in the world there's nothing else that's more intimately connected to our identities or the manifestation of that in public space than fashion literally. Wraps it touches our skin. So what does it mean mean for something that's made in a product of violence to be rubbing off on our skin every single day were so so concerned about what we eat where it goes in our bodies but how about what touches our skin constantly every single day most nights some nights but also but it conveys a Maybe religion the fact that I'm visibly Muslim. My experiences growing up in the United States as someone visibly Muslim has been marked with physical assault being uncalled terrorists every single day. This is a reality that every day I step out of my house and choose to present myself in a way that I know that I'm GonNa be added to another government surveillance. Watch list her. And if you don't have to think about every day when you step outside of your house who is going to profile you or what police is going to stop and search you. That's privilege which doesn't make that decision any less political so we have to think about that and right now especially the fact that the Muslim identity is trending trending in the fashion industry. My identity is sexy. Every single person wants a Muslim. Who looks like me? Walking down the runway and their latest campaign. But how can we have the fact that right. Now we're at a time of heightened anti Muslim racism on a global level partnered with the time that we see Muslim faces taking up space across fashion magazines. What does that immune for our industry? Is that a trend. Or are we actually substantially dealing with and grappling with the manifestations of what it means to support Muslims. Would it means the support people people of Color. How can Nike? For example create. A pro hit job that was created with the raw materials by Muslim wiegert Muslims and concentration camps in western China passed down to Muslims in Indonesia working in sweatshops to produce Nike Apparel and then sold here and then be a product and praise as for being so pro Muslim. Why are we allowing brands and the whole entire fashion industry to simplify and reduce our identities into just a hit job? Hit Job is not synonymous as being Muslim but we allow fashion right now to reduce simplify and completely annihilate the movements Minson identities in which we've been working on for decades actually call this revolution washing greenwashing which I think most of us are familiar with. But it's at the revolution every brand. Dan Wants to be sexy. And part of the Revolution Right now. But what are you actually doing. Are you actually simplifying. And reducing and taking away the significance of what it means to be Muslim. The complex experiences of what it feels like to wear every single day and that the government simultaneously is gonNA use that against me or use that to invade on a son and and so. I'm really excited. Really excited to also be able to be the sheet and Sheva on this panel to understand that the world is fucking complicated like there's a lot She does happening every day everywhere but rather than just being afraid of taking a step back and be like okay. We're GONNA make the simple like I don't want to be controversial. We have to engage with at that. Fashion should not be in the business of simplifying things but embracing the complexity and really being able to grapple and imagine a better world and then actively work work toward building that

Here's how bell believes steelers. Fans travel well especially with two New Jersey will react had Athens not happy to see me and still loving habit. No hatred despising. "Our regularly scheduled program. We have trust issues news with some really interesting names on it this week. And we're going to do it a little differently. Not just name the guy or talk about this week. We're going to talk about guys. And where the land rest of season so how they'll finish out production wise so the first one we have is a guy we were just talking about which do trust issues on whether Juju will be a top twenty five wide receiver. Rest of season As of right now I believe Josh. Did you have anything on here. No I don't think we have yet. Okay so I don't know where he's at right now. I think he's in the thirties. Anyone late thirties away that I can check economy but yeah so do recipes isn top twenty five. I obviously have trust issues with this like I said I did believe him. Coming into this season that much or at least as much as everybody else did and with the quarterback situation. It doesn't doesn't look like it should change. He's got injuries now. I don't see how this can change that much and get that much better as the season. So Todd Twenty five. I have serious trusted with that. Yeah he's wide receiver thirty seven on the season and that includes games that he got Rothlisburger so I don't know how we can't have trust issues easier as I've said before. Mason Rudolph is atrocious. He can't miss the ball downfield. He cannot utilize dynamic receiver. Like Juju Smith Schuster. so He's basically been made relevant. I think that really at this point. Eight's it's hard to start you. If if you're you know in contention I think on a week to week basis. It's it's very easy that he would be outside even like your top thirty six just because there's no reliability. They're meant he's not going to be playing this week. More likely than not and this is going to be the best match of get. Call Year So you know oh and even the last night Cincinnati this year. He did nothing so it's yet to me. It's one of those things where I I'm not. I'm looking for reasons to put the drama bench. I might have to get this Juju Doodoo campaign off the ground things to do. Just kidding. Calm down at them. The crimes shots not playing. Well you have a lot of stock in them. Do Josh on Jujitsu. I don't know if there's a much of a chance but I mean if you're ever GonNa try to buy dynasty this would be the moment. This is now definitely the time. Yeah sure of anybody will bail on them. People are saying it's not even like a the top twelve fan or dynasty wide receiver anymore. I'm like the overreaction is real so yeah I mean if you if you believe in Juju now's the it's on Yes sir. A man on the other on his way up while Jews on his way down dairy Slayton top twenty five wire receiver rest of season Josh. I know.

Patriots may soon have to deal with their first Antonio Brown issue and it has to do with his number

"We have to talk about the biggest storyline in the NFL Antonio Brown as it looks like the saga for Antonio in some ways is finally ending and in other ways. It's just beginning for number eighty four as Antonio uh-huh Brown signs a one year proved deal with the New England patriots and it's hilarious because there is so much speculation when all his shenanigans with the Oakland Raiders for going on that really it was just a grand master plan for Bill Bella check to somehow land the all world talent wide receiver in sure enough he gets released from the raiders and later that day signs deal with the New England patriots another huge weapon in the offense four. Tom Brady and this has shades of what Randy Moss did did when he was with the Oakland Raiders. Moss spent some time in Oakland during his games he played for the raiders. You could just see that the big hall of fame wide receivers hardest wasn't in it. He wasn't really producing for the raiders he was now running routes with this full heart. You can just tell that he wasn't the Randy Moss when he was sooner in Oakland and then he goes to the Patriots under Bill Belichick and has a career year a record setting year with Tom. Brady Brady threw for fifty touchdown passes does that offense was just a cold plays away from being the first team to go perfect nineteen in Oh as they were trying to catch the seventy two dolphins they lose of of course the super bowl to the tremendous comeback led by Eli Manning and the New York giants. Is this going to be just like that. Are we gonNA see a patriots team. That could possibly go undefeated after Sunday night. That's a very real possibility that defense for the Patriots absolutely shut down the steelers and and if they know they're gonna get just a boatload of points on the offensive side of the ball you know Bill Belichick GonNa give all of his time and effort to making sure that that defense is ready eighty each and every week for their match. Make sure everyone's healthy ready to go that the scheme is right and we very well could see a run at history again in New England might right sound a bit presumptuous just in week one but the steelers are a classic. AFC favorite especially when they had the big three Bell Brown and Rothlisburger now with two of those three pieces Gone Smith Schuster looks to pick up the slack for Antonio Brown but now yet to find someone to pick up the slack for Juju at that wide receivers Chris to spot you also gotta be be frank here that James Connor is not living on bell. We saw that in that game Sunday night so the steelers were still a good test defensively civilly always are fantastic and brady made them just look like a peewee football team out there as he had no problem going for thirty three points in that game and pass over three hundred honored yards. You put a be in that mix with Josh Gordon Julian Edelman the running back tandem of James White as well as Sony Michelle is going to be a really tough challenge to beat this patriots team and because of that you who who's to say I mean they they could do it. They could do it you. You can't say they can't there. There is a real world possibility with the addition of Antonio Brown that the Patriots could make some history but now we gotta look back at how this came to be an Antonio oneal brown you could tell really from the Gecko once he got into camp once he started running some routes with Derek Carr in this raiders offense something clicked in his head that he did not want. I WANNA be in Oakland. I mean he did the cryotherapy happens and you chalk that up to operator malfunction with the frostbite on the feet then he goes on this insane escapade with the helmet trying to get all that taken care of in think in trying to use his old helmet. He's used forever he. He's had six months to do it and he doesn't think that's enough time to find a new helmet. I mean he's not looking for new kidney. He just needs a helmet you. There's ways to figure that out to make it fit and make it. It'd be comfortable everyone else in the NFL did it why couldn't he that becomes an issue. He's stays out of training camp. He doesn't do the walk throughs. The helmet issue did not mean he couldn't couldn't practice with the team he did that on his own accord and then he goes after the general manager of the raiders after he gets fine for actions he knows our final. He did them with that in mind. There wasn't like that fine just came out of the sky on him and Mike mayock gets verbally costed by Antonio Brown he goes on a barrage. I use of slayer of slurs cuss words to Mike May Auchan your raiders still still planned on playing him in there Monday night game against the broncos broncos that says a lot about the raiders as an organization that they were willing to take this abuse from Antonio Brown and take all this Prima Donna behavior behavior that was happening with Ab and still play him Monday night when he's barely practice with the team we talked earlier in the season here here on this show about how Antonio Brown by taking all this media attention has helped the raiders rookies developed because they haven't had to deal with it and that's still true in the lot of the raiders rookies have talked talked about in themselves and the second year players have said by having Antonio Brown. It's been nice that they haven't had to deal with the media coverage and hard knocks and that was really a lot more centered around Antonio Brown but he's also had a terrible example as an a way to conduct yourself as professional with what he's done with the raiders clearly didn't want to be there show the the reaction video when he finally gets released from the raiders and all of that finally goes down and I think the raiders are better off for it you if you're going to establish a new culture in Oakland. You can't have this going on in your locker room on your sideline. You need to get Antonio Brown out of out of there if he wants out all the better let him go you cut your losses just saved a lot of money by voting that twenty nine million that you would yet. You'RE GONNA pay him over the three years Antonio Brown you get your wish you go you get to play for the Patriots I think both sides can kind of wash their hands of the issue but now the rest of the NFL has to deal with the Patriots and Tom Brady having Tony Brown as viable and very real. You'll weapon for them

"So one hundred of the most influential people time has their their hundred most influential people. I have heard of up some of these not all of these, you know, some of them you like like you got ninja, right? Like ninjas? The the the guy that's on the internet playing the video games. I say that he's a gamer and each one of them has has had like a forward written about who they are juju Smith Schuster big NFL wide receiver wrote his and he's in what they call the pioneers. Right. You got that? You've got people some the rock as artist Gail Gadot wrote about him, right? Like, and some most of these people I've heard of most of these people, you know, the usual Randy Malik, and Glenn Close and a few other that some of my never heard of leaders Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Rodham Clinton wrote about her, right? You got Trump and several other ones on there for those keeping score. You know who else is on there, though? And I found this to be very interesting kids. Christine Blasi Ford. What the hell is she on there for? Hey, you'll see I get right at a lot. And again, a lot of them. You're not going to know who they are. They're influential globally, whether they're titans of industry that you've never heard of or their politicians and in certain areas, but. Christine Blasi for are. You kidding me? Is this a joke? Right. What exactly did you do? I'm just curious. What did you do? Well, you know, she was setting. No, she never proved anything. She gave a half ass circus like gibberish. Couldn't remember a damn thing. Something that happened forty years ago, whatever in a place that she can't remember by people. She can't remember by people that were there who don't remember being there. I I'm curious about just exactly what it is. Right. That that to me. I just I found it to be fascinating. But I also look on here. And I said, it's exactly what you would think it would be. It's a lot of people who you don't know who are on the left side of the aisle who have all these big fancy things that a few right side of the aisle, usual cronies that are, you know, the the Mitch mcconnells of the world and stuff, but it is. I was just don't found it. I'm like. You know, I could see there are some people out there that you would say, okay. I could see why you would be on here. "I see what what do you make of this? If you're young receiver. Don't don't stop don't don't stop DM. If I took you through my DM's as far as kids if I've encountered since we've had Twitter in the things that I've been able to listen to them about their issue. Should they stay in college where should they train which should they do next? Like, this is one of the things about AB that upset me more because I know the legacy, and I know why receivers throughout the years have taken care of other wide receivers and for juju to reach out. And when he's at USC just trying to get better. He's just trying to enjoy the same thing that we enjoyed when I got into pro football. There were guys might quick Kenny Jackson man, they went out of their way to make sure that I understood that I had the opportunity, and even if it was me taken their role me taking their spot on the team which end up happening in Philadelphia with Kenny Jack. Jason. This is a legacy that we have in the league from the odor players. Tune a younger players been passed down from generation to generation decade to decade into me. I'm embarrassed for Abe. I'm embarrassed at he thought he was actually doing something by putting his DM message up there juju all you know, what it juju got a lot of fans people like man this kid is all right and see man. He he totally exposed juju. Smith Schuster for what he is a really respectful hardworking kids. Are you kidding me? I was napping. When this story happened. I woke up I saw on Twitter that someone said aby releases a juju DM, and I was nervous for juju. Smith schuster. It was going to say I thought it was probably from about a month ago could have been right when right when when he's leaving out the Bill, absolutely, man. I'm so happy for you. I'm stuck here. Right. You get formulation, right? Big Ben without I thought that's what it was going to be and that would have been dirty pool by in Tonio Brown to do. But I figured that's what it was when I saw what he put out there. I thought we did ju ju hack ABC's Instagram to make himself. Look good. I mean, how the other it also speaks to the level of delusion from Antonio Brown that he's now in a place where he thought this would make him look bad..

"And you know, probably wanted to sign autographs, and obviously he just wanted to be out there with his former college teammates. But the big thing is that everybody's like juju juju, and I really believe that juju Smith Schuster is taking a lot of the spotlight away from Tonio Brown. I think the people in Pittsburgh are so ready to move on and say, we still got a number one receiver that you probably were holding down and Tonio Brown. So I think that in Tonio, and this is what a lot of people. Yeah. Holding out juju. And this is what a lot of players go through George a lot of players in the NFL when they get drafted. There's this sense. I've even had the sense like, oh, yeah. I'm here. I made it. And then sometimes at some point you'll refu- you'll figure it out George where the NFL doesn't stop. When you leave or team is not going to stop playing games. Because you are no longer on team. They're going to replace you and move on. And I think that's what's going on with Antonio Brown. Obviously. Like, he was like, I built this thing. And look you show on look juju was coming to me. You mentioned the DM on his Instagram about here's a wide receiver from USC. And I want to be a better player. I look up to you. And all this different stuff to me. I think that a lot of that shine for Antonio is now gone because of people in Pittsburgh, I won't say he's hated. But he has never definitely not beloved like he wants was. Yeah. And I think now you're starting to see him come out and really take up too many shots now focus now Antonio is too petty. Yeah, it's petty. And by the way, man, he's a nice kid, man. All he's done is respect you the whole time. You know, what I mean like publicly clearly privately to because he sent him a DM. Right. You know what I'm saying? I so I it's it's just unnecessary, man. You know what? Hasn't been unnecessary is all these home runs by the dodgers. Right. Listen, man. After the way the dodgers got started last season. And if you remember it wouldn't pretty nam. I am just excited right now. I am excited for baseball. I am excited for with this dodger team can be and again as you, and I have talked about this is even without Clayton Kershaw not a necessity anymore. A luxury of getting him back. You know, I know odious struggled a little bit kind of in that game yesterday. But I also want to see him continue to develop. I don't know if he's going to get much of a chance in the starting rotation once Clayton and ritual and those guys come back. I guess is. No. But I just I feel like man this team is might might be honestly, Kurt the deepest team in baseball again. And last couple years that's been the case. But man like. You are seeing as you pointed out earlier these young guys on that roster really kinda come in into their own. And you're getting kind of a search from those guys even somewhat unexpected as good as they are. And I know it's early, but I feel like that the guys that they kept. Okay. The core of Seger and Bellinger. And buehler. There's a reason they didn't trade those guys when they had the chance because they could've traded two of those three guys for Chris sale Windsor Boston and they wanna World Series. And you know, we all know how that ended up last season being he was big Martin..

"But this is ABC problem and do Jews problem because they are I wanna use another word of what they use social media what they are as far as being like a slave to it every day that they gotta get a certain amount of hits. They gotta take all these pitchers. They gotta be involved AB answering the question in his comments. Why you answer and why you put ju ju ju ju because he's social media awful lot. So this is the backlash ABC involved in social media. Too involved in social media. But AB takes liberty Bill and the ask answer questions. I mean, he wasn't lying. Juju did fumbled the ball that was one of the big games that season. But that that's not why they didn't make the playoffs because they just didn't play good enough. As far as who's the MVP? Don't matter when you're not in the playoffs teams. Not in the playoffs. You're not playing for SuperBowl. So we'll go cares. Who was better that seat? And it's just totally uncalled for by Tonio Brown. Antonio got everything he wanted. He got to go to a new team. He got his new contract. He won this battle and juju never went against aby. This isn't a situation where it same team where lady on his way out the door. Had had some choice words for some of the offense of linemen that undercut him early in the season. I wouldn't necessarily agree with it. But I would understand juju always said good things about Antonio Brown. What Antonio's mad because juju after AB came out and did the interviewer when Ben Rothlisberger ju posted that. Picture to social media to your point see of about Ben Rothlisberger could never ask for a better teammate. But that was a little much too. But it was also we know why he was doing. He was trying to show I'm fully bought in with the team on everyone's attack in my quarterback. Trying to be a good teammate trying to ingratiate himself to the franchise. He's he at some point he'll want a new contract in Pittsburgh. So everyone becomes the problem. Abyan juju have talked about who've been his and now and now ABC's dawn and Jews come into the rescue of a guy we conversation about now you lying, right? So that I mean, that's clearly why Tony was mad. But I just in will these aren't isolated incidents. This is a guy who repeatedly over the last twenty four months has made decision after decision to somehow turn himself into some villain. When he didn't need to be his what football players hurt their public retin more in the last couple years without an awful off. The field arrests is those things. Side they Antonio Brown. What who who is somebody that was looked at one way two years ago and has looked at differently now, even though they're play has been extraordinary throughout. I just don't I I would say is getting the wrong advice from the wrong people. But I don't think this is an advice thing, I think AB is just showing the world who he wants to be at this point. And it's not it's not a pretty picture. Do you think this gives fans us the media? Anyone a little more insight into what Mike Tomlin and Ben Rothlisberger went through with Antonio Brown. There. Did it did it? I don't know mold. Maybe your way thinking, maybe not this is the way you can look at it. Now, you can be like, wow, they had a lot of distractions. Yes. But you can't remove Mike Tomlin been like, oh, man. I feel bad for Mike Tomlin. He was dealing with all these things will you set the temperament for what's going to happen inside that locker room. So you have allowed these things to happen into think that Mike Tomlin and Ben Rothlisberger aren't guilty. Also, just because it is. No, you got you got the number one..

Because I think he is being my take that and put on a scroll juju says it made me feel some kind of way some kind of way, though, he's not saying what kind of what kind What of kind way. of way, but I feel like we could do something say one way. Away. You hear good? You're not in your second year in the league. What is it that you're promoting today? We're going to give you a wide berth hearsay as much as you like about your product because we're delighted that you were so playful. Advocating to work with the partnership. You know pizza being brought a NFL, obviously, it's been amazing. Just because you know, who doesn't know pizza a big fan of pizza, and you know, for me to be out here. This amazing things this year being on commercial pizza, and I'll see this all season. I think it's I think it's amazing that were going on just today ROY Moore stuff. Dude, you what's your strategy when eating pizza? Do you eat the crust, or do you judge people that don't you can't trust anybody because? Got the cash somebody who don't eat the crust the crust, and you gotta have ranch and all the other sides that ran a sneaky played in ram. Branch or dipping the crust into the ranch. Yeah. All that. I'm a big ranch guy. Not just the crust. Got you can go to even first bite. You can go into the real question is you choose pepperoni cheese. You have to choose between them. Yeah. If you had to pick one or the other. Everyone around. No, I'm actually old school, man. What are you talking? Owning. Yeah. Go for. On the poll. Please your pizza must have have cheese or pepperoni. I think juju is going to be in the minority. What do we think about hot sauce on pizza? I mean, I don't know a lot. Even Pizza Hut. I thought I care about. How about pineapples on as long as it Pizza Hut? Apple apple ham. You good with that combo. With that pizza. It's got sneaky good thin crust too. That is very true. That is true. Is there anything that's on a pizza that juju? Smith Schuster, simply will not abide like you'll look at somebody. You'll judge them. You'll say that's disgusting. Mean not necessarily unless you. Yeah. Not necessarily. I feel like we've run out of pizza material with you should I go back to the Tony Brown and lady on bell stuff. We test them out a little bit more. All right. Maybe about. Maybe we should talk more about the eyelids. What is the the time? Do you remember anything where all of you got together in the locker room afterward? And we're like man Tomlin said that thing and that that was crazy what he just said. Really a timer code. We went a lot, and we talked about coastal almonds, you know, speech or anything that he said on a personal line. It was just more. So the, you know, let's just keep stuff off, you know, keep track in the locker room off media all social media, obviously that that's that doesn't work out. You know, it's hard nowadays. You know, what people say we'll be either instantly doodoo, you're famous for being a big time gamer what's the game that you're playing right now red dead, redemption? Is that what you're on you still important night? I'm a little bit of everything more so-called duty. Just just because I always been a call of duty guys beginning since I was a kid and do. Yeah. What's the most amount of hours you've ever spent playing a video game in one sitting? Man. I'll do a like twelve to fourteen hours one time. I was in the I was in high school, and I played non Dan really, go out partying anything hang out with friends. It was like Bill games with my life has Pro Bowl receiver juju Smith Schuster recently like in the past few months found himself arguing over a headset while playing call of duty with like a twelve year old kid because it's something that happened in the game. I did in high school and those days nowadays when I played video games, people are more. "Stands original fresh opinions. But I think I think you think that we can with juju. Do you? Do you think that we can just ask him Mike Tomlin questions? Like, should we even because everyone's going to be asking about it and Tonio Brown and Ben Rothlisberger and their relationship? You might actually appreciate being asked about something different than that. Yeah. I think we can do that. I'm not certain we should do that. But we never do what we're supposed to do you want? Do you do actually? And I say this seriously. I'm not making fun of you. But do you want Smith Schuster to give you tired sound on the relationship with Ben and Tonio where he has to be super careful or do you want a guy who enjoys himself during an interview being on with? I want a guy who enjoys himself. But you know, you don't know how he's gonna respond to those questions unless you ask him. All right. Well, let's ask him those questions now. And I love talking to this guy enjoyed his time on highly questionable. Even though I didn't have enough of it. He he's engaging. And he's here to take all of those passes that end Tonio Brown doesn't want anymore. But here's what I'm promised promising. You juju in exchange. My guess. Is you're going to get tired of Antonio Brown questions today. This is what I'm promising. You. I will not add you I will not ask you a single in Tonio Brown question as long as you answer. My Mike Tomlin questions, and I promise not to get you in trouble with Mike Tomlin. We just love Mike Tomlin. We don't understand. Why it is? He thinks that you need to cut your eyelids off and why every damn week juju. It's about we don't know if we're going to get out of the stadium alive. Like, I don't know why why the language has to bowl game. Like, it's just a football game to Joe. And you're the one out there who actually risks is eyelids and not getting out of the stadium alive. Is it possible for the Rockets to beat the Warriors?

"Want to buy. Aids. Is it possible? The rockets could get it together by the Western Conference fund where they're better than they were last year. Is that possible? I don't think so it's not possible. I don't think so I think that's poss- adult at the sixty five wins as good as they looked last year. I don't think it's possible for most teams to be better than they look lashes out. But what I mean is actually better like the the warriors one seventy three games. Yeah. And then they got better because they added the rent their regular season record wasn't as good. But in the moment of truth, they were clearly the best team. And of course, they should be big favorites. Again, the way they've been looking recently. And the talent we know they have my point is if you believe it's possible for the rockets to actually in the moment of truth now that they have the experience of last year be better than they were last year. They only need to be that much better by the snow. You don't think the lawyers? Got you go, Molly, I'm trying to make. It's just interesting doing down that ladder. They had no man that tell C P three got hurt. I just. Very very very clear. My reservations for Oakland have already been made. There is no there's no issue. Here is your I will be in Oakland at oracle ju- where where are you going to be on the east coast with us? I'm hoping I'm hoping today Milwaukee. But only for you know, I may wanna socialite that's all your team because a lot of drama goes another day in more support coming out for Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown. Now. I will say this. I want him to apologize to Mike Tomlin to for pudding that coach in that position. But particularly considering the paucity of African American coaches, so only two and NFL it'd be three by the time. New England wins the Super Bowl, I guess unless they lose the bottom line is is that I don't like the position. He put my Tomlin. And that's about it outside of that. He doesn't want get Tomlin put him. That's fair. That's fair. Let's get over it and figure that I or Rooney is saying I don't see how you can be on the team next year. Yeah. And all the press all the chirping out of the Steelers negative towards the future with Antonio round. Like, we don't we don't see it, basically. Now, all of the sudden juju Smith Schuster, though, watching his body language and his and hey, Derek Carr. Yeah. I'm I'm inferring. What I see? That's true. I didn't seem to me like it was in juju Smith, Schuster heart. But you can't know another Mantar all you can do is inferred from what you see. Didn't I don't know? If he if those words that are coming out of his mouth reflect the way, he's feeling, but I'll let me read between the lines a little bit. It seems to me Stephen A that at the point that they were saying all that stuff. They were probably thinking we are going to try to trade him. And probably I imagine started to kick the tires on some trade ideas like one could they get back for him. And I think what I read this. As is. Maybe what's happening here is they're not liking what they're hearing in terms of the return on moving Antonio Brown. And that they're better off with him. That's my sense. If they don't if that is true, then the Steelers would have everything to do with that. Because how do you want to trade such as surreal asset and command top dollar a top cash eighth for him? When in fact, you've served a role in excoriating, correct? So what you do don't they say this is what happened with Kyrie? Right. When the whole world. Knows he's outta there. Or you're gonna get the best offer. The worst offer at the worst offer you have to make people believe that he's going to stay whether that's because you don't get the offer you want. It's going to snake or to make people believe it. So they come with a better offer before we move onto LeBron. I just have to say this quick. I don't think I ever gave you props on this. When lady on bell was sitting going to sit out. And I was like there's no way he sits out. You're like, no he's probably going to sit out and he sat out the entire season. I think you're the only person that actually believed that he would do that. When we think he could do if you wanted the gold at the end of the grandma never would his type talent on that team. But happened LeBron James on this is fifteen straight game with the Lakers take on the Timberwolves tonight. But he hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the sons, according to coach Luke Walton when he was injured on Christmas day the Lakers weren't fourth place in the west since they injury, Los Angeles five and nine they've dropped to ninth plates in the west, Stephen A. How bad is what bronze injury for the Lakers of worry. I was told not to be worry if LeBron James Levy reading. Needed to he could go out the plate, and he would be ready, but I find this to be the most significant injury of his career I'm incredibly concerned because I want the Lakers to get a big time free agent. I want them to make some noise in the summertime, and I think that obviously when you took thirty four years of age, they are going to be people who are going to question your ability, even the great LeBron James almost never hurt. So the fact that he's outright. Now, you have to wonder whether or not a potential free agent is going to look at that. And question how much time does he have left at this level? That's when I'm not saying there's any legitimacy to that. I'm simply saying that that's a reasonable cause for concern. And so the bright lights LA Tinseltown palm tree. So the California weather notwithstanding. You'd never know what some marquee free agent is going to look at when it comes to Magic Johnson. Lincoln picking up the phone to call them and say come on L A what I man the Bron. When in fact, they're wondering about LeBron. More. I look at this more. I think Jerry's going to be a Laker. Yeah. Because I started to run down the scenarios if it's not a Y, and it doesn't look like it'll be why I wouldn't put anything past magic he landed. Lebron after all if it's not going to be K D or someone like that if Kemba Walker in fact wants to stay where he is. And they work that out if Mike Conley is not the answer in a trade. And if the Celtics don't wanna give Kyrie a supermax like why would we want to stay in Boston, not only that they're extremely talented coach the whole thing, but he'd get a supermax deal. Then I think kyri and LeBron could come around in their own minds to seeing a reconciliation as hey, what if Kobe and shack worked it out what if they parted ways? But then they said, you know, what we messed this up. Let's work this out and that eventually the Lakers would be Kyrie's team that's got to be very appealing. We know kyri has relationship with Kobe. And could you imagine if the Lakers didn't have to give up any assets at this trade deadline, if they kept Ingram and Kuzina and. An and heart and all these guys and simply added KYW read or run Bill that happens where are they in the west for ten Kyrie's there right now with LeBron and LeBron's healthy. And assuming Ingraham continues to improve and mom gets a little better share, maybe one more acquisition the right acquisition. Lakers can win the chip next year. If kyri is there, you do not need Lonzo ball. They're correct. And that means you might get something for Lonzo. Then you might not need Brandon Ingram either. Say that happening playing with LeBron listen, I'm told that is far fetched kyri is happy and Boston. He has no intentions of leaving. But Kenny had ever go around not shutting. I don't have to pretend I'm not sharing anything anything's together. Anything is they get back together for now. Sure about that. Thanks. Mitch listening to the podcast gets. Ben Roethlisberger is 'clearly a part of the problem'

"Next. Next team president art Rooney. The second said Wednesday that talks have started between the Steelers and Ben Rothlisberger on a contract extension. Big Ben who turns thirty seven in March has one year remaining on his current deal. And let's keep in mind. There's been a lot of drama and Pittsburgh fellas and Tonio Brown apparently wants out lay beyond bells that out the entire season. Not to mention that Big Ben has been going back and forth on retirement these past couple of seasons. Tedy Bruschi still here with us joining us from the Pro Bowl and Orlando I teddy. There you are. We got you got you and all your friends in the background is big and more of a problem or a solution because this franchise feels like a mess right now. Because both he's he's definitely a part of the problem because they no other men in which he's handled things. I mean, again, you know, you you've got numerous players. You've got numerous NFL aficionados that have religiously called out Big Ben for saying things in throwing people under the bubble in the fashion of the quarterbacks. Don't this is not me talking. This is basically reporting what they've said as max is done as many others. If you watch Big Ben you talking about juju Smith Schuster. We should have thrown the ball of him every time you say something like that. You've got to know you've been around Antonio Brown long enough to know, how those kind of things would affect him along with various other things in other positions that he has taken that. We don't have time to get into in the end when it comes down to is that has made him a part of the problem because Big Ben is live by different set of rules. He's a bit flagrant with it. And I don't give a. AM who you are anytime you receive preferential treatment that you are you are playing by different set of rules as everybody else you are going to rub people the wrong way, especially when you consider the individual who abuses, the privilege. That's the bottom line. Having said all of that. When you look at Big, Ben he's also a part of the solution because nobody's perfect everybody makes mistakes. And if you're willing to man up in knowledge that you could have done better in certain respects. I think that would go a long way, I think the thing that the Tonio Browns of the world and others that are incredibly frustrating is not that big been mixed the mistakes, they made is that he doesn't necessarily he isn't necessarily deemed as an individual that learns from apologized showed the pope level of contrition and move forward without making sure not to repeat those mistakes again throughout the years. You've seen a pattern of behavior that has been consistent with him in that he has gotten away with it. If you listened to those NFL players Antonio Brown is one of those NFL player. Here's somebody that has said that. And as a result, you a big band you want to alleviate this situation you speak up. You recognize us where you're at fault. And I think if he did that that would go along way. So he's both a problem and a problem solver in all of this because he's right in the middle of everything as the stock quarterback of the team who obviously has is outspoken, Saddam. Well, we agree and disagree because I think he is part of the problem the solution. But for very different reasons part of the problem because Ben Rothlisberger is like a rich man's Eli manning. He is too good for your team. Just to stink almost no matter. What's going on? Right. You're good. A win some games. Maybe make the usually make the playoffs. So how do you get his successor? There's no succession, I just talked about how you know, unless you're Bill Belichick level. And it's not so easy to find a quarterback when you're not drafting up high. You know, it's more of a crap shoot. They don't have the person there that they feel can take the reins of the team if they're truly grooming. It doesn't seem to me on the other end. Therefore at the moment. He reads a lot of power because when you don't have that. But you do have a talented team. And you have a quarterback who's shown he can still play at a very high level, and we're in an era. That's right teddy in an era where older quarterbacks are clearly protected in ways. They've never been you look the level. Tom Brady is still playing at forty one. Drew Brees at forty then rothlisburger at thirty seven that that they realize, oh, wait a minute as beat up as he's been as much as he talked about retirement. He's still maybe has some years of football left in him. We don't have as backup. So he wields probably too much influence and he seems to at times publicly throw players under teammates under the bus. He's a problem because he's too good to get that next quarterback with the draft pick. He's your solution to the extent that you're good because he's a really good quarterback. And if you ain't got that, you ain't got anything. I'm with both you here because Big Ben has been a problem, and he can be a part of the solution. But this is what's happening here as you're talking about max. The quarterbacks in this league getting older and older and still being able to play past forty. What's happening is a generational gap. A generational gap between the quarterback and all of the younger skilled players and all of the younger players on defense that are ended up being a part of this team and the ability to relate. So they're almost these kids are coming in plan. I mean rothlisburger will have players coming in make sure that have had his poster on the wall or something like that that group as fans, and so how does that quarterback that aging quarterback you mentioned breeze Brady and rothlisburger? How was he able to relate to them and make them feel like still an equal? And as one of his teammates, this is where Ben Rothlisberger has failed has he failed. Also and other aspects where Stephen as talking about what he's calling out teammates where he's got no business when he should have when he's the one making bad plays. Also. Yes, I agree with that. But he needs to learn to start to relate to these younger generation of players because he will continue to get older, and that gap is. Real and you'll see players life Brees. How he still it seems like medicine Brady and breathes? They're old. Okay. How do they still have these close bonds with these young players that come into their teams and their teammates talking about them like they're best? How does that happen? There's something. Character wise that breeze and Brady has right now that Rothlisberger is lacking. I need your help with something here. Because here's what you lost. You talked about him relating to the other players, and I don't disagree with that teddy. The problem is it eight the younger players complaining about him and Tonio Brown is thirty years old. He's been big big Big Ben Rothlisberger his teammate for almost the past decade. And so this is I'm not saying that, you know, the he's thirty seven thirty thirty seven like Big Ben is, but he ain't twenty eight twenty one like did you Smith Schuster? The man is thirty the last six seasons. He's had a minimum of one hundred one receptors a minimum of twelve hundred and eighty seven. Yard. He's produced. Poor Big Ben he's been a primary target for Big, Ben. And yet that's where the problem seems to lie at this particular moment in time. So how do you explain that? And I'll put it up put it simply then because I agree with you there. It's a feeling that I've had with the quarterback that I played with and a lot of the saints and a lot of these older players on these teams that are mentioning they have the overwhelming thought in their mind that my quarterbacks got my back. No matter what that's what I think's not there in Pittsburgh. It seemed like it seems like if something happens the quarterback isn't there to either bail you out off the field the Bill you out on? That's what it is. I don't know if they feel the same way some of these saints and other players that this quarterback. He's got my

"Levers you can understand why to marry his Thomas who seems to be a lock for one hundred forty targets goes ahead of this group. Juju Smith Schuster Jarvis Landry golden Tate. Larry FitzGerald, Josh Gordon pretty soon. We'll get into Allen Robinson and Brandin cooks going later and CBS back on CBS ADP apologize for mixing it up. Cooks going a lot later on CBS. Then he isn't fantasy. Prose composite ADP, which looks at a bunch of different sites. So it sounds like you guys are heating. The call of the bus call on Brandin cooks. If he's a fourth round, pick anywhere this group. Again, after to marry Thomas, we are late round four and actually into round five with juju Smith Schuster Jarvis Landry golden Tate. Larry FitzGerald. There's no way or getting around five in PR league and Josh Gordon. So to Browns, wide receivers plus Tate, FitzGerald and juju who's your favorite? Dave. My favorite of the ones that you mentioned, I think of the ones you mentioned is going to be Robinson. I, I didn't get to get to him Larry FitzGerald. You haven't gotten to Robbins. He's next. That's fine. You can throw Robinson there. Right? So then I don't think you mentioned the we already talked about digs. I think it's Larry FitzGerald feeling or at a group ahead of this. So it's Gerald FitzGerald, NPR. What about non PR show like this euro Morley's goes. Yep, even not PR. Yeah, I just think that volume is going to be massively in his favor. There's of course bad. Let's take the quarterbacks are better. Let's take a look at where it's jerem what the head after Carson Palmer last year it's better maybe in in our he's been seventh, eleventh and fourth last three years in non PR. He's been tenth sixteenth, and ninth last three years. And that is with nine six and six touchdown. And he's what the nineteenth receiver off the word. Roughly, it's ageism. It is. Fantasy pro sees. Whereas he, he's sixteenth. It's more like nineteenth on CBS juju Smith Schuster played four games without either an Tonio Brown or Martavis Bryant. He was a beast in all four of those games. He had more than eleven fantasy points in non PR eleven or more in all four games. One hundred and fourteen more yards and three of them. He caught a touchdown in three games for there's a lot to like about juju Smith Schuster, but I keep coming back to this and I do like them, but I keep thinking about this. I feel like the way I feel about juju is exactly how I felt about Martavis Bryant here ago and what are the Steelers do they went? And they drafted a wide receiver in the second round juju Smith Schuster and one of the Steelers do this off season. They drafted a wide receiver sixtieth overall two spots. Ahead of where Smith's juicer went the year before. Similarities here. 'cause Martavis was a massive bust. I think there's similarities to the role that James Washington, who's the receiver that you're referencing Martavis and Washington has gotten very good camp reports. Rothlisberger talked him up. They've canoe, he's connected deep, not only within, but he was college teammates with Mason Rudolph who the Steelers also drafted. So those two obviously have chemistry and it's making Washington look, good and camp. I'm wondering if he's going to get that number three role and that this can work both ways for juju Antonio Brown because he's a field stretcher, that defenses are eventually going to have to pay attention to, and he could also take targets away from both of them. I don't think he's a big enough threat to do that to Brown or juju to be honest with you, but it makes me like Rothlisberger even more. I'll tell you that. I think when you look at juju the Martavis Bryant absences, the biggest thing for him because he was fourth on the team and targets last year. There's no way that's going to be the case. Again, he may be second just a matter of how many targets Levy on. Gets so with the jump from, I think in ninety targets probably close to hundred twenty Jews in line to have a very nice if not tremendous the more upside than the other guys this group than than Larry FitzGerald..
