"Derby won by eventual triple crown winner, American Pharaoh welcome back to HR RN's Derby countdown, bobby newman and Jude Feld, and pleased to be joined. Now by the track announcer of Churchill downs, Travis Stone Travis welcome to the program. Good morning, how are we doing today? So far so good. We are doing well. We're happy that the Weatherman is told us that the current conditions in Louisville are going to go away. About an hour or two from now we're GONNA have Sunnier skies for oaks and Derby Day the next two days Travis. This will be Your Sixth Kentucky Derby call boy does not seem like it was that long ago that you were calling American feral cross line. There's actually a great youtube video of view. Of you in the booth calling the race and then you know you being so excited afterwards, it's almost like a kid in a candy store when you got to call Your First Kentucky. Derby. Yeah. It's true that I'd never been to the Derby before you know going up. Not, at Kurt, my parents ever made, and then when I finally graduated from College, I was working on the as so not only was it. The first Derby I was going to attend is going to have to call it and you know as an announcer it's just your lifelong dream of the a part of it and you know the pressure excited and the intensity and just the wild nature of the race through the binoculars. It was quite the feeling when they finally crossed the wire I'll never forget that. Kind of an emotional experience I mean just the Derby in general is emotional for a lot of people and then to have to call the race and all the pressure in, and then to realize that you pulled it off and and you made such a great call that's be very Elated type feeling. Yeah. I mean the right word to describe it would be you just you put so much time. Effort and energy and thought into it. It's just like anybody would derby think about it for weeks And it all boils down to two minutes and unlike interest a fan or a spectator watching the race actually have to talk about it while it's happening and. the. It's so lyles when you're used to seeing. Ten, maybe twelve horses in the binoculars Dana Day out. You know for thousands of racism and all of a sudden you look for Uber knocks there's eighteen nineteen or twenty of them. It is such an unnerving feeling and and she just you try and survive you try and get through it, and then when you do and you're like, wow, that actually went pretty well, it is I. I've people if you could bottle up sell with the feeling his wife and those few moments afterward, could become a rich man pretty quickly. It's just it's awesome. Travis now as a track announcer, you're supposed to be impartial and calling the racism let the racist play out and react to what's happening how how much of telling the line is it especially in a race like the Kentucky Derby where? You're trying not to you know you're obviously handicapping the race because we know you love the game but you know. Reacting to what's going on and not what you think is supposed to go on in a race like that. Actually think. The corporation and the handicapping knowing the horses a lousy to getting with the moment a little bit better and and dwell. Describe it is. Right you know American Pharaoh supposed to win, and that's no. He's the loss of posted win this weekend. But when things get out of whack or horses around physician or quote the wrong horses make the moves that look like winning those that's where the real drama starts to happen. And I think it's the announcers job try and capture that. and. So I think it's interesting. I mean I don't root for horses Matt that's probably a little bit of a lie. There's definitely. Love, to see when the Derby Right but you you root for scenarios and situations that create drama and just make the race that much better and you hope that you have words and phrases to describe it in a way that captured appropriately methacton interesting question I really thought of it that way but but yeah. So you kind of have a feel for WHO's GonNa go to the lead or who's going to be up close in who's going to come from behind and in if if something like that changes of horse breaks slowly or some horse that you think really is a closer all of a sudden you know is asked out of the gate and his laying up close though those are the kinds of things that you wanNA call to the public's attention that they might. Ordinarily just be the way a racist run. Sort of that's dramatic. The snark predict. Or and early speed horse. Off The place, I mean those. Situation that produce wild events out say that that's not the one I think the other component of it is. You, have to be able to capture the moves that horses no every hopes to make one. Something Palm Birkin. Has said any. In caught me over the years they one roof If you pops out move that moment could be very dramatic and you click through all the other calls of all time with the big moves horses make whether it'd be secretary widening now right or you know. Such and such worth catapulting password with lifetime use a lot. You know any of those types of examples of. Those are the moments that people stand up on the end at the hill on the back of their neck raises another duck to other components. Dramatic area that you have to capture a lot of what happened in the race is. Is really what allows the crescendo to build and as the race caller? I. Mean optimally, you capture that. It's nice in the Derby that it's a mile quarter, you have a a little bit more leisurely pace and You know there's time to to describe it as opposed to like a six furlong race. Everybody's going hell bent for leather. Conversely, there's eight hundred horses, right? So there's I mean it takes a good. Four furlongs or half a mile or so to rattle off the names of anywhere from fifteen to twenty horses depending on how fast you go and you know and the Kentucky. Derby. Once you start the racing sort of establish yearly players and then you get to what I call the run down your run through the field by the time that's all over there's only five for long left. were you could also say now there's only five furlongs to call a horse race. Right? You've established the sort of the landscape you've got all the players where they are. Now it's just about calling how things develop but then every once in a while, you know get some pretty tough scenarios the year justify ran, and of course, last year was maximum security not only was it rainy and cloudy and miserable It felt like particularly last year fifty horses made moves on the far turn I mean every every time I look left right here's another horse making moves all the way to Paluska Parfait you know it was just it's sort of a wild experience And you know, but I I know what you're saying and you're right in four five or six horsfield there's more filler. In a you know eighteen to twenty Horsfield the the most of the words you say, our names and that does help. Talking with Travis Stone, the track announcer, a churchill downs. He was the announcer at Louisiana downs a while back and Monmouth park called meeting acqueduct as well, and he's been churchill down since the beginning of Twenty fifteen this will be his sixth Kentucky Derby Weekend which just seems amazing to me that it's that you've already called five of them my friend for my money if not the best, certainly one of the best in the business love listening to your calls. Let's get into the to the handicapping part of it. I know you know not only on an announcer who's who tries to remain unbiased, but you like handicapping the races..

"Else you know run into and solar, the great experience the started off with sure. Where did you go after working with Jude? Then I went to I. Went to another small trainer Jeff Copeland Woody. They call them. I was there for a couple of years, but then the big job team with John was the first big job I was there for five years. Kinda teacher was John Sadler. John was very good. He's in my opinion is a hall of fame or himself another one that. Just. He, if I took anything away from him, it was the utmost care that he took of the horses, and he came from the show horse side of two so another one. He had really good feel for horses and how they were doing what they need is, and yeah, he's. He's very good at that. Visiting with trainer Don Chat lows here on trainer talk presented by Phasing, dipped in walking back through the early days of Don. Chat low some of the jobs that he had when he first moved from Chicago to California John Sadler Jude Feld. Ron Ellis was part of that, too, wasn't he? Around the AD. You know a lot of my conservativeness. I always credit that year of single Terry. eighty-one felt to the to the patients that I learned from Ron and you know you only ran six times a year. I spaced it out I. Try to do everything right in I. Believe me a Lotta. Guys have done that too, and they didn't have. Just fortunate for us that had happened, but yeah, a lot of good things I took from with patience, and and I got a lot of the conservative ways that I still have I took him. That word you just used done. Patients is a word that I hear all the time, and I've heard it for eight years on this program talking with various trainers. Why is patient so important for a horse trainer? because. You can see little things, and you could be in denial because there's a big race coming up and you WANNA. Make that race, but you could do things so horse that are irreversible. If you don't. Stop right when you need to stop and. You know not every a lot of guys things I could get away with this, or it's not that bad or in, but then you have these guys that no, no, I know if I press. This is going to get worse and I'm not gonna be able to fix. And Ron was one of those guys that he had that field new which ones need to be stopped on, and which ones go forward with us, so you know I was able to take a lot of that with me and use it.

I've been coalition Russian two years this June the miracle trainer. Dick Mandela has never won the Kentucky Derby and neither has porter. But it's on both man's bucket list addict wants to win the more than I do but reverse one win badly and it means a lot because it would just be the icing on the cake if we could be disturbing but awful tough to win even if you go off one of the best policy questions grapes and on that cavalry doc gates and never know what's going well. We'll never know Omaha. Beechwood have won the Kentucky Derby this year but we know he turned out to be pretty darn good and he's going to go to the post as a heavy heavy favourite. "Taking excellent care horses with lead problems. And we started a slow slow process of rehabilitation. We decided we weren't going to do anything with him for a year. I mean, we had a certain protocol, it actually Dr Wade bird, who is our private that here suggested and it's detailed. And I won't go into it. But it just, you know, kind of a it's just a storybook how everything fell into place, and he came back and really it was training great. And it was it was it was also difficult. Because now Santa anita's surface is deep and slow and it's probably not his favorite surface. So. We were careful as workouts he didn't, you know, he wasn't extended in his workouts, is very long slow methodical workouts in Gallup's and. And coming up to his first race we were lucky to get an allowance race that he was eligible for the distance was a bit too far off the layoff. But you know it was just a good opportunity to get him in a race. So. We've started him and that race it a mile and an eighth on the grass and not really knowing you know, often courses after a long lay-off like that. Don't really maybe come back with the same desire. So not really knowing it really judged that much in his training, because we were being very careful with him. He was going to need the first start. So we just hoping that he would come back with that killer instinct and wanting to do it again. But really didn't know until till he left his starting gate. And then when he when he went to the lead and, and set every fraction at every single poll, we knew he was back. He did get a little late. My training showed up in size sixteen poll, but he was that we knew he was back in. So that was that was great and he came out of that race in great shape and even showed more interest after that. So we knew it was game on. Again. And I mean, honestly, would I run him in a great one off of that? Probably probably not. I might look for a software spot. But that's all it was there and he was ready to go. And we were concerned about him, getting in, because he hadn't had any recent earnings, and but there was a slot therefore, and so we decided to take a shot. That was a shot. Well worth taking in case you tuned in late. This is Jude feld and I'm visiting with trainer. Carla gains on trainer talk presented by phasing Tipton on the horse racing radio network..

"So we thought we'd pass along an update and let you know that Jeff did indeed get that victory last Saturday with midnight zoo, and it leads us to a bit of a discussion JT as to which Philly is the best in the country. Is it now midnight zoo who was paired up back to back grade one victories, or may it be somebody else? Like we're gonna see tonight in the Stephen excuse me, the floor to Lee on the Stephen foster undercard, maybe somebody like Elat, or she's a Julie or even blue prize even blue prize blue price. Pretty nice elites. Okay. She's coming out of form. She hasn't been running up to her usual. She's a very Corky Philly. She could win tonight. She's a jewelry ran great last time. She has to carry a lot of weight against the other two tonight. But I, I don't think we can ignore Montemar girl. I mean I don't know where she is. Or what she's doing shows up again? You can say that about night, actor you can say that about us right now. She's a non factor in my opinion. She hasn't she hasn't raised yet. I know best she's still good. And she's, she's supposedly, coming back doesn't retired. So I mean in my mind she's the best filly midnight could never really get buyer. Last year. But that was last year. He beat her once. Right. Well, it was Q wasn't bright right by Deke X amount of weight, girl, cheated. Get the cute unless you do something illegal. Okay. Well, that's. We'll give you. One what six right now? No being completely unbiased here. You're right mind. I'm white girl is obviously all world, right? I mean that's, that's an understatement. We know that she is really, really good. I just I don't see any no. Here you yard just pulled her up on echo base. There are no workouts listed from girl at all. So right now, she's not even in this discussion, the top the top Villier mayor in the country, she's not even there. And I think that's, that's fair. I mean of the Phillies that have performed this year, you'd have to say that sues is the top, I think, I think she's the top, and everybody else has to measure up now. Blue prize ran against Manuel girl and got be the length and a half, but I don't see. She also in the same race midnight be soobee their head, so they're pretty close. Yeah. Yeah. Midnight beat Elat each of the last two times like drum like a drum. I mean, that's my thing about a late tonight is, she's got to prove that she can be Elat again. Right. Right. And you know, this is an important race for her. It is. Because Anthony and I talked about yesterday on bet radio and a late, you know, was kind of quirky. You remember she was like a buzz horse. She broke her main by fourteen or something. And then a couple races later. She was eased, you know, because she was being Elat being quirky, and she's kind of gotten back to the quirkiness action, so I don't know what she what she's going to do or how she's going to run. Her blow out was nice. So we'll see what happens, but. You know, it's, it's an interesting division, the winner of tonight's Florida Lee will earn an automatic berth into the Breeders Cup distaff, the winner of the Stephen foster will be automatically qualified for a spot in the starting gate of the Breeders Cup Classic. And again, a field the twelve going in the Stephen foster, our coverage eight to ten you can join Tom Leach and the pontiff of the pick for Jude feld, live from Churchill Downs, they will bring you that coverage on Sirius XM one fifty six and you can stream us anywhere..

"And that's the way he's been his whole life so far so get you couldn't be happier with them. Bobby Jude feld on HR and speaking with China, Brendon, Walsh who conditions Paluska Parfait. Breaking from post nine the Saturday in the one hundred forty fifth running of the Kentucky Derby coming off very impressive win where he really grinded out. Splitting rivals to win the UA derby. You don't see a lot of horses coming into the Kentucky Derby who've already banked about one point six million dollars. But that's exactly what's happened with loose Kabar Fe. You're gonna have a new writer on Paluska Parfait in the derby Ricardo Santana junior who just been tearing them up at Oaklawn park, all spring and winter getting aboard or back aboard he actually was aboard the maiden win who's Kapar Fe reunited, how does that come about? And how excited must have been for that phone call. Yeah. No. He it worked out. Great guys. You know? I had a hunch hose, it light might as New York based writer in the you know, he had a hunch that he might not be able to write over. But in. My mind. It's it's funny things because in my mind, I talked to myself if if Jose can't ride and straight away, I thought Ricardo I think he he's detail of writer at suit stores, and he he obviously had read Nemann worn on before. So he was going to be my automatic choice. And and it was funny because window old thing took shape with Jose. Literally that morning hose Ricardo's agent called me of right, the horse. So you know, I. It worked out perfectly. So yeah, we're delighted with that. He's been writing grace, and you know, that that's very important too. I think he fits the horse. Good. Any knows the horse audits. It's all positive hod stable hot writer Harker you pass that. Coincidence. But this is the first time we've seen the sun this morning, Brendan Walsh. Operating rarefied things going. His stable right now. You know, maybe this is another sign this. It's just been absolutely beautiful here last few mornings. Brennan, walls, conditions, Paluska par face. This is a horse who on paper looks like he's going to be coming from a little bit out of it all things being equal. Where would you like to see him in the early going, and how would you like to see the race developed? I think you I think you have to be very positive. Widow widow with any horse in the race. Whether it's horse to close or a pace, or I think naturally, he's gonna find himself, you know, from the drawer out, really, well, so I think he's going to find himself, you know, probably mid pack within going into the first turn the most of the speed is inside him. So you think speeds going to go into may be the Raillard a two path and try and get around to I turn save as much ground as we can. And and let it unfold from there. But I'm not going to get any any special instructions to. Because it's a race. It's impossibly bitterly to to to predict how how scoring core exactly ever sold the wholesome Bosa. But you know, hopefully, we can avoid getting clean trip. I think is is key more than anything Carlos out. He's good size enough, the traffic and weaving through at the right spots is really a very good tactical writer. I think he he's talented guy. Yeah. Probably the right right guy for. Yeah. No, he's perfect. Then, you know, he's easing aggressive writer to which I think to horse needs. He's he's a horse just needs to be pointed into right direction from time to time Brandon. We certainly wish you the best. This is an exciting horse. Not only for us as fans to watch. I'm, you know, this is a horse who already is taken you halfway across the world. And he he looks like a horse. That's just getting better and better and really hitting his best stride at the perfect time. Pusa Parfait up contender the Saturday in the one hundred. And four fifth. One the Kentucky Derby, thank you so much for joining this morning. We wish you the very best of luck. You're listening to the Derby County on HR end your home for the Kentucky oaks, Kentucky Derby and triple crown army nul, unbeaten unchallenged a grade. "Tell us what what the situation is with Omaha beach. Little bit of coughing causes the scope and found an entrapped EPA. Gladys. We can't fix it this week. So you'll have to have a. Procedure done in a few days and probably be on training light three weeks. And so then left a cigarette a whole new game plan. Audio. There of Churchill Downs director of publicity and communications Darren Rogers, speaking with trainer Richard Mandella last night regarding the morning line favorite for this year's Kentucky, Derby, Omaha beach. If you didn't hear already little bit of an unfortunate circumstance, Omaha beach who probably would have been a favorite in the race in the morning line favorite. He was coming in on a three way race win streak. He looked as good or better than anyone in the mornings came up coughing yesterday afternoon, dude and turned out that he had what is an entrapped EPA Gladys and was forced to scratch from the race. It's really been a hard cheese for Richard Mandella and his whole crew in the owners when you have a horse that's trained that. Well, it's so close to the derby. I mean, it's it's just brutal and very disappointing. But you know, Richards, a great horseman, and he's got the horse taken care of. And they're going to do a little surgery on them in a few days when that EPA Gladys begins to shrink down and three weeks. I think is what what Richard is thinking he'll be off. "Chocolate kisses who I think was the last Oakville yesterday that we saw in the track she's out now which is pretty late because it's not right after a break. And but the really aren't a whole lot of other horses on the track. So it may be less busy now than during that dedicated time from seven thirty to seven forty five. Yeah. I think definitely. So the dedicated time is is very very nice though. It's nice to have a situation where you're gonna have a tremendous amount of horses on the track. Is you see what happens when when we finish up the the recording of the dedicated training time, the track gets inundated with horses all of a sudden. And there's like two hundred horses out there at least at a time. So it's it's nice to have the oaks derby horses have have a little bit of time to themselves and and be. To do. Maybe a little bit easier training backup to the paddock. Maybe walk through. The paddock do do some things a little bit differently. And and still get your training. I walk through the paddock yesterday. I was sweating myself. Just a little bit. That might have to do with my my girth. Not blow out before we should by the way. This. Here's going to this is going to be a plug. That really didn't need to happen. So there were a lot of people here this morning. The were a lot of people yesterday seemed like almost twice as much today for that derby and oaks dedicated session, it's kind of filtered out now. And there were so many people that there's not even bottles of water left to get from the concession stand. Here. My two choices were cherry coke and mellow yellow. So I hadn't had mellow yellow probably in about twenty five years. This is a phenomenal mellow. Yeah. This is better than Cuban coffee hundred ninety calories of just pure. Remember jolt cola that this is what I feel like I'm just woke woke up from a fresh nap after just a few sips of the mellow yellow so happy with the best decision. I made so far. He's betting on all the horses with yellow silks. Sometimes it's the little things in life that make you happy. Once again, Jude feld here in Bobby Newman on the backstretch at Churchill Downs for the countdown show beautiful Wednesday here in Louisville Kentucky that the stakes races actually start today as we have the Kentucky juvenile formerly the W H E S T TV stakes used to be in the derby undercard. And my only guess is that maybe they didn't want the two year olds to be subjected to over one hundred thousand people, so they they moved it earlier in the week, and what a shock Wesley ward is going to have a major say in the two year old steak today. Yeah. It's just a a real surprise that Wesley might have a two year old. In a good one. Yeah. He's got a filly named naive Beth, and I think he's got to actually in there. And then there's also a two year old maiden race on the so who knows maybe stars of future in horses that will see next year during derby week and oaks week on tap today. I haven't really talked about the oaks much yet today. I don't think anything has changed going into it. Same as what we saw yesterday. Biggest thing we saw I think yesterday was that the probable, favorite, Bella FINA. Maybe didn't look her sharpest on the racetrack. And she kinda followed that up the same way this morning. We chalked it up yesterday to the fact that she just got off the plane and was a little cranky. But she still was a little cranky this morning. I think that's just our general nature. She's not she's not one of those happy and delighted to be here type Phillies. It's interesting really the only poor race. She's run in her career was here at Churchill in the Breeder's Cup juvenile fillies last year. I don't know if it was really a poor race. She finished fourth. That's certainly not a bad effort. But she was beaten a little over nine lengths by Jay walk and restless rider Phillies. She's going to have to face again on Friday. So I I don't know if it had to do with the shipping..

"Check out a complete derby week schedule right there for you in its entirety. So head on over there. And check it all out. I mentioned the three prep races today, the bluegrass the wood. And the Santa Anita derby all offering the winner one hundred point. So it's it's a win in. You're in for the Kentucky Derby here today in three different locations. How about this? Jude of the one hundred forty four Kentucky derbies already contested, sixty one. Of the one hundred and forty four winners have prepped in one of those three races. Forty two percent of all derby winners have come out of one of those three races. Ben awhile for races like the bluegrass and the wood. But lately, it's been all about the Santa Anita derby in the west coast horses have dominated three of the past seven derby winners have come from the Santa needed Herbie. Yeah. That's a very important. Race course, Bob Baffert has a lot to do that. He sees a lot to do with it today too. Doug on meals couple. So you know, you do have a good concentration of top horses out there, and it's going to be tough to get by game winner. No matter what happens today or whenever the sandy Derby's can have some good representation. Yeah. I think so I mean, you've got the juvenile champion. And you know, you've got roadster from Bob Afrika Instagram six horses. It's a very small field, but to from Bob Baffert to from Jerry Hall indoor for and then a couple of other horses. Just hoping to do something big today to punch their ticket at a spot in the starting gate -absolutely. Well, you know, all the races are good. They all have intrigue. It's going to be a really fun day. I've been looking forward to it. Because this is like it's like moving day as I saying golf, you know, this this is where horses are going to make their trip to the derby. Or they're gonna lose their trip to the derby because we're running out of points races next week. The Lexington stakes is the last ditch effort to pick up some points and very seriously doubt that that would run today would run back in the Lexington in the week. Yeah. All of the horses competing in those three derby preps today and even the oaks prep. Let's not forget about the ladies to there are tickets to be punched to the first Friday in may and the Kentucky oaks, but everybody thinking at this point there are contender and they are coming into today's races. But now when you have to prove it, you're either a contender or you're not you're pretender in one of those two and there's no in between. So you have to show up here today, and you have to put in your best effort without taking too much out of the tank looking ahead to twenty eight days from today and Churchill Downs. Well, twenty days. As a longtime any horse should be able to recover from a race in twenty eight days. I don't think that's that's too much to ask. So you know, I think a lot of are are going to come into this race and feel like they're going to have to run. There's not gonna be any. Oh saving for next time. In today's the day. If you don't have the point you gotta you gotta get. I gotta get the points before you even think about the derby. Yup. I mean, you've got four weeks to worry about your horse until the derby. So I think everybody's gonna be out to get what they can get today. And of course, we also have the Arkansas derby next week as well. So that's going to be day. Well, if you are just tuning in first of all shame on you for missing the first nine minutes of the show, but happy to have you with us this morning, Mike Pence, Jude feld we are live from Keeneland will be here this afternoon as well from five thirty to seven thirty eastern time, you'd be able to hear our exclusive radio coverage of all three major. Derby preps, the bluegrass the wood. And the Santa Anita derby. You're also going to hear bonus coverage of the grade one Ashland for.

"So I I was like I was killing me that I wasn't there. So I went over to the Caesar's book, you know, back then we didn't have it on our phones and every week. And so I'm watching it at the season book in my horse win the race. And the guy next to me. I had that trade and he'd never win. Yelling, you know. Lizzy? No trainer was sitting right? Did you say anything? My heart is what I want to. The making of the gamblers, you know, you know, like, no back. He, you know, they know everything about your horses. You know, they're just as passionate as we are. You know, the people that gamma like, oh, you're Danis Garrity. Oh my God. You know back in nineteen ninety two. Thought it was a fourth race new had a horse, and blah, blah, blah, and it was seventy two and you won by four and a half lanes. And I'm like, yeah. Had really that happens. These guys they remember they remember everything they'll tell you the program number the whole nine yards. I was coming. Yeah. I was coming back from del mar. And the guy in the TSA line. He he looked at my ticket and my driver's license. And he goes. Your Jude feld. And I said, yeah. Any the trainer, and I go I used to train horses. He goes, oh my God one del mar. And he goes into this long story, right? Which was great. I was loving it. But the line is getting stacked up behind me and people are going who is this guy. What did he do? Why does we have is papers in order, right everybody. Looking at me. Like like, I wanted to haul me out a line, and this guy's going on and on and on. And I finally kinda just had to tell him. We got we got we're holding up. He goes, I guess we'd better embarrassed. Then you appreciate it that people do, you know, they they do remember this stuff in and they're passionate because without them. What would where would it? Where would we be? No, I I love him. I love the people people. Remember, they cast ticket on one of my horses or whatever. But I had a similar situation to you. And I remember when Santa Barbara was the only place you could go to bet San Francisco. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I had to horses in the night cap it at Golden Gate fields. And my my brothers in. My brother marks brother-in-law. We all drove up there to watch these horses run. They all had pieces of the horses or whatever. So so we're sitting there last race. We've we've got killed all day long. We had almost no money left. We made my brother Mark, keep fifty bucks out for McDonald's on the way home. And then we all bet the rest, and this guy sitting there telling his girlfriend what a betting coup that Jude felts pulling off here and he had the whole race setup. And we are just dying laughing 'cause like, I got ten bucks left. And and my brother Bob's got like ten or twenty and between all of us. We didn't even have one hundred dollars. And here we are engineered this great betting coup where we're gonna make thousands of dollars, and he's telling his girlfriend, you know, what a crook. I am and all this jazz. And it was so funny and ended up running second and fourth. But it was one of the funniest bits. I ever it's funny. How much longer that drive is to Santa Barbara when you're driving home after? Yeah. And you've got to stop at McDonald's for dinner..

Mom, Linda, obviously still helping out talk about that dynamic mother, you know, fathers and sons around here, we don't see a lot of mother daughter combinations around here. No, that's right. And it's it's just itself. You know, she she was the ball for a long time with my dad's. So it was it wasn't easy transitioning to kind of, you know, making the final call and definitely having backing with everything and and having her support, and we could not be able to do this without her. I mean, she definitely is as she was for my dad with his entire career. She is the backbone of the operation, and you know, it does it makes it a lot easier to know that you have somebody in, you know, somebody who is just as much invested in the. Ration-? I mean, you know, there's very few trainers out there that are lucky enough to have a system that are diehard for them. And and really honest and work just as hard as the trainer dis. And it's it's been a big help that that my mom is air with us the whole way she's gotta be loving it too. I mean, it's it's so cool that you guys are doing it together. She has to be loving that.
