"The fan, and the sea is just about 20 minutes away. We'll be talking. That's with him, such as they are Rich and Staten Island. You are on the fan rich. Richard. Thanks for taking my call, You know, getting back to Elektronik strike and bowl coal in baseball as you may or may not know they've been They've been using the system in tennis. I believe it's called psych ops, and they're using it for almost 30 is now it is extremely successful. Why not adopted in baseball, especially for players like George? I mean, I've seen Judge get up many times, and I think he's been called out on strikes that were questioned. To say the least because he is, I think part of the reason he's so tall that he distorts the strike zone, and it's not in his favor And the thing is, it's not just for pictures. As you point out. It's for hitters, too, because hitters are trained Don't go fishing. Don't swing at pitches outside the strikes on Don't expand the zone. Don't give the pictures that advantage. So if a picture's a couple of inches off the plate and they don't swing That's what they are trained to do. Good eye on empire can call it a strike. I support Elektronik Strike bulls and strike calls. I hope it comes as soon as possible. I can't wait for especially if you look at these larger baseball players, I'II judge stand. I think they will benefit immensely from the Elektronik strike whole system. Yeah, like Judge needs help right now, Right? Yeah. Look fair is fair, you know, and some cases this will benefit the pitchers because they'll get those calls the close calls that they might not get otherwise. Sometimes it will benefit the hitters because balls that are not in the zone won't be called. You won't have that thing. Well, you know, Look, I got to go in the game. This guy's a lowball umpire. This guy's a highball empire. So pitches that are low. Don't don't go swinging at him because he's going to call him of all and vice versa. And all of that. That's something that the game doesn't need to have. You know, there's enough strategy. There's enough mental agility necessary to play baseball that you don't need things like that. That throw things off. Fran in Massapequa, you're on the fan frame. Ah, Richie Rich. You don't buddy, Okay? I just, you know, for the three run space ball was off. There was no aggravation. It's amazing. Well there. There's a lot of aggravation, but not having to do with baseball. Well, they did have todo. I'm just talking. I know. Well, you know, right? God bless everybody. It's such a mess. I mean, it's the same old. Disgusting. Unbelievable. Just harsh. You know, guys go to the Yankees. They become superstars. Guys go to the medicine. They become just, You know, I don't want to say the word on the air, but it's just saying it's not going to change on 56 years old. It's not going to change with them. It is just going to be the same old situation just like the song. Well, you know, last year Mickey Callaway. Oh, Mickey Calloway's is Mickey Callaway. Is that well, I don't see much difference to you know, not exactly. You know, sometimes it's not the coach. You don't even know if they got rid of a young coach Mickey Callie. I'm not didn't have a lot of experience they bring in a guy who has no experience. I mean, it's you know, it's so stupid. Bringing a like, horrible on that horrible got a guy who coached the Yankees, which is named Mom Dio, Buck Showalter, Joe Girardi, Right, You get how you know that Joe Joe, who had been the perfect thing to stick it to the Yankees got Joe Girardi. You let him go, but I mean, it's just so aggravating the whole situation. And I want to ask you how far away from how far away from how far away are we from Elektronik plays Probably already have him with video games and stuff. But no Look, I got the human element. The players, the skill sets that they possession mean that's that's a great thing about baseball things. They do well, things they don't do well. The mental aspect of the game. Those are all great things, and this is why you watch the games. But it's frustrating last night, and you could say that the Mets was robbed. But you know what they did themselves in the event, an apron lead. You're blowing the team out. All right. Just just get through it. Get get your pictures, You know, find one pitcher who can give you multiple innings and get it done. And you know, in in sympathy with RoHaas, you goto Lugo's steady No, Not this time You go to the dancers who you brought in for big bucks to get it done. Can't get it done. Sea world. I mean, look I texted my friend read during the game when they brought See Weldon. I should look, you got lucky with him last night. He did the job last night. Don't count on him two days in a row, and sure Enough boom boom, A couple of hits couple of runs score. You know, these guys are what they are. Occasionally they will show you a flash where you think that's pretty good. But you know, a swell see well with guys like that, who we've seen time and time again with the Mets. You always said. Oh, yeah, They're getting better. They're improving. No, they're not. Let's go to Joe and Clark here on the fan, Joe. Very rich. I don't have a job. You know which I agree with the last caller. I've seen this movie 1000 times The Mets where they don't think they are not running again. They get hit after hit in the head, though we've met on base It's so frustrating Richmond last night to see the Arno and I tell my friend old time like I want to write a book. One day about every ex Met that's come back and destroy the Mets between Turner and Mercy. I mean, he's got to be a brute. Please don't know less than last year's Jubal Cabrera, where they put the Nationals. He destroyed the Met. I mean, I'm one getting one for performing that you can help with the backing a winning one. It's unbelievable. Even go back to these guys at the Mets Mets kind of disrespected Now there are there are teams that lead players go. And the players can't really hold it against a team because they look we didn't perform. We didn't play well, but in Dar knows KCIA Tommy John surgery was coming back. They gave him like 2.5 weeks and he struggled a little bit and they said, Okay, goodbye. That's what started started to top with the ownership and that's like my friends as they wake me up When Cohen by the team because way had Cohen would have Girardi is the manager, it would have been cheap and that brought him in and not worried about over over undermine, you know, Brody bandwagon and he's wanted in here because you want to be in charge. You know, he wants a robot. That's what he wants. Then wagon and I hope calling when by the team I hope he does. He brings in his own GM. I mean, look what Brody's gonna look at the trade. Kalinic's going to be the next mike trout. Maybe we got nothing. Hopefully, you know, and we have Diaz. I would give anything for either of them. They got Lowry where they could have made you know they used to go with the batting title. We get three hits every game. Unbelievable. Yeah, And and And and Lowry. Lowry hasn't just you know was he had three at bats, and now they finally figured out what's wrong with him after a year and 1/2 So, Yeah, I mean, you look, I looked at this team before the season started anything. Okay? You got 34 If I mean you got big meal you got Alonso. You got cess pit issue got conforto. You've got such a solid core in the middle of that lineup. They should score a lot of runs. And first game. They get a home run from suspects. They win one to nothing. They don't score in the second game. They don't score in the third game. They they have a couple of decent scoring games against the Red Sox with a terrible pitching staff, but I said Watch out. You know that you against a good pitching staff, and you're gonna have trouble. And you know, sure enough, the Red Sox out, pitch them in the second, the two games that they played at Citi Field, So then they go on the road and James are bats were not getting runners in scoring position while they do it yesterday, they score 10 runs. And they can't win. They can't win with a big lead. Let's go to John in Connecticut. You're on the fan. John. Hey, You got a great show here. I don't think it's really dumb party bought last night. I think you're really dimension..

"And leases of data and Lee, playing The! avs Cincinnati by two hundred bytes file. This is Hembo. Knows and AMMO is falling bikinis. A research reading SPN. Who is a hot show on the show. Get up. He tells us he's the head. Honcho with Mike Greenberg tells us. Is he just a wild partier that everybody admires and and with that is you qualifications Hembo I need to get ramp ep Pex for the American League, and the National League in this sixty game season. I, promise you bust I made I made this pick with a sober mind so my pick to win. Win The American League. Most Valuable Player. Award is Matt Chatman of the as he finished the top seven each of the last two years. I fully expect the as to win. That division and I think he's the best player on that team in the nationally I favor Ronald. A- Kunia Junior. Who I think is really choice a huge breakout. Probably the the best power speed combination in baseball, there are some other sort of more obvious I. think names on Espn Dot Com along the quote unquote experts. Got More first place votes than anybody which Kinda surprising. Now the easy. Picking American League of course is Mike Trout, but I know when I sat down to make my over the weekend. The great x factor is what's going to happen with Mike Trout with the birth of his child, which I've never worried about that sort of thing. In who. We go into a regular season. I was curious if that was running through the back of your mind as well of course, because in a sixty game seat look we can appreciate, might trout over a full season, because the amount of value that accrues over the course of time become so much greater than anybody else, and he is sort of the poster, tried the darling of wins above replacement, but it might trump misses a week of time or even close to that that's an extraordinary amount of value that he's conceding to other players, and when you consider that I think the angels are likely to finish no better than third and that. Their other players like not Chapman Francisco, endure would be another Aaron judge another that would favor over trout. Of course it all comes down to health and safety with these guys, but even if trout Mrs Five Games because of that, it'll go a long way in influencing his MVP candidacy. Now a tease that you sent me last night for an article. You have coming out on ESPN DOT com later in the week is Mike Trout's not the best player in baseball. Please explain yourself. Over to the ESPN. Dot Com editors and they said you know what the news for a great headline Senate over, so I spent the last couple of days putting together a piece, which essentially details that, since the two thousand eighteen, all star break, which is truly the time in which Christian Yelich became a superstar. He grades more favorably than might trump off. They're really across the board. By most measures by traditional stats, he outshines like trout in high leverage stats. He outshined drought you. You can adjust for yellow Ballpark, favorability, and he still pieces might trout you. The numbers indicate that he's more more feared hitter than trout. When you consider the volume of pitches seeing inside the strike zone, and so on and so forth so I'll allow the readers to the good ESPN DOT COM on Friday to sort to read the conclusion, but the really the question of positing buster is is a year and a half is it was a season and a half enough time? To. Surpass tried his best player in baseball. Perhaps not, but I do think it's high time we started having the conversation of whether or not the answer to that question can now have to correct answers, because for the longest time, really since twenty twelve or twenty thirteen, when trump really sort of established himself, the answer to the question who's the best player in baseball has been might trout, and it's really been a non conversation. You know the interesting thing. We talk about small sample size It could be when we talk about trout Potentially, being away from the team and I was thinking about that the other day, when I was on a brewers zoom call with manager, Craig Counsel, and he was addressing questions about Yelich with how he's performed in some of these inter squad games. Apparently, he's really struggled and he's Kinda. You know trying to trying to find swing again. Every player goes through this in baseball, but man it. Really I think underscores how just a week or two weeks of struggle could. Take down like an an awards candidate. You know potentially have a huge impact on a team. No doubt even talking about a month ago about how important the at that time we were going spring training. Now we're calling it summer camp. We talked about how important summer camp be. You can't afford to be in that addition buster because a bad week like you said will cost Christian Yelich MPP award even if he has an MVP season because a bad week as we. We know is a bad month is a for all intents and purposes I'm with you. I'm confident. That Christianity is GonNa Rake, because he's raped the last year and a half, but how you start Joel Madden, said how you start is going to dictate everything. It's going to Kate player performance to a large degree, and it's also going to create. Hell Front offices view their clubs few opposing clubs and will cause the trademark it to be different than anything that we've ever. Ever seen before our first game. Of course we got nationals playing host to the Yankees on. Thursday night I had bridge early of the Atlantic on yesterday. I mentioned to her that for me. The biggest concern about the nationals is the question of who is going to protect one soda whether it's before or behind him, and I asked her to give me a name of a candidate who would do that and she mentioned Carter Kibo what he got him, well you. You don't just replace Anthony Rendon buff. He's a top five position player in the sport over the last year and a half or so and it struck me. This is only the third time in the last eight years that the best position player on a world series champion changed teams that off season budget after winning with the Marlins and our three, our hosted it after winning with the cardinals and twenty eleven. So in other words you could say that keeps has. Has More pressure on him than any rookie in baseball, but he does have the skillset the handle it. He's a really sound approach that contributes to to really good walk rates over the last couple seasons, and they're also fortunate enough to have as Jubal Cabrera behind him, just in case, the game is still a little too fast for him, which it was last season, so anti Rondeau Anthony reknown. The absence is gonNA cost that team, probably or winner to which in the? The course of sixty games obviously matters a lot more but keep whom is about as well equipped as any kid. I think to step into that role, and you look at Ki Moon Swing he will, you will see it's a little bits and pieces that remind me of Alex. Rodriguez with the nature of his swing What are your expectations for? Aaron Judge Giancarlo Stanton. Who will at least go into this year? It appears healthy in a way that they haven't. Haven't been the last couple years buster, he and Judge Stanton and judge have shared the same starting lineup one hundred twenty twenty seven times in the last two seasons a just thirty seven thirty eight percent of all Yankees Games during that time. When you include the playoffs pretty remarkable, considering the punch, they are when healthy but help Aaron Judge to answer your question in a roundabout way as the American league MVP runner just given the production that he's likely to generate especially. Especially considering the players that he has around him, I'm not sure anybody is better protected than he is the most telling indicator for me, in case we whether or not, he's pulling the baseball bus. Three pulled his first homer of the season last year on August twenty, he twenty three of those during his breakout twenty seventeen season. He's getting a bad head out in front. I think Aaron. Judge is going to be a month this year so long as he's healthy. Stanton is concerned..

"Came up with his own To tape record rather because as Taylor had seen this in a live performance by China's an Charlie Fox at the Apollo Theater in sixty five and used to sing this just for fun with his sister and said hey this is a great idea. So yeah yeah they put it on. The fourth studio album hotcakes in nineteen seventy four. So it been talents I mean Carly Simon and James Taylor. Huge talents yeah. Had I told my Livingston Taylor story on this show is one of the James Brothers speaking of old so working the cable industry. They always say they've events everywhere and always have these events for the board where you go to some fancy house and there's a big party and they always bring in entertainment so this isn't some mansion in Newport Rhode Island and I'm walking in with some palaces were walking winding away to the mansion somebody says oh I hear Livingston Taylor's entertainment tonight and I set Livingston Taylor. Oh my God hasn't been dead for decades around the turn and smack into something that I'm sorry and he goes Livingston Taylor still alive. It was very good line so there were four to my knowledge. There was James. Taylor lived Taylor. Alex Taylor who I don't think survived and sister gate and all of them were in. Were in the singing business. James Taylor the first album ever on apple records and was produced by Peter Asher. I believe yes was sweet. Baby James I mean if you're my age maybe memorized every single lyric in sweet baby. James I mean that's he's a big talent on them. I've got I've gotten Siham. I know my son has gotten to see him I really think James Taylor is great. Carly Simon I don't know if she records anymore. She does anything but boy. She was the daughter of Paul Simon Right no no. She was the daughter of Norton. Simon I mean find. The book stored narrowly rich role and still went out and did her own thing. Yeah and was great. Yes that's great so anyway by the way one of the fun things is If you've seen certain films with McCartney and James Taylor McCartney calls him Jimmy Taylor Jimmy in his what he called him when he met in nineteen sixty nine hundred. Yeah so I We've done a lot of national stuff. I wanted to do local. I wanted to talk about the Matt's Kiss. I missed the nats and I'm hoping twenty. Nineteen world series champion. Yeah I'm coming coming to go. They signed Daniel Hudson. They resigned. Danieli howdy to a two year deal. Daniel Hudson was in my estimation over the last half of the season the most and perhaps only relatively reliable right handed arm in the nets bullpen And I I hesitate to use that sentence without saying there were two very reliable right-handers in the nonstop and they were reliable in their stink attuned. Swear Oh and southern thunder stricklin. They were terrible. Strickland is still on the team. I don't Barrow but I don't. I'd have no understanding of that late in the game very late. In the Game Sean doolittle a lefty became reliable reliable again. The Nets have signed recently. I was pleasantly surprised but totally blindsided on the starling. Castro signing had absolutely absolutely no idea they re sign as Jubal Cabrera Grech they have startline Castro. They just signed Eric themes From Milwaukee which means the end of the home runs at CNN. UNIMAT Adams correct because he's left handed first baseman. Now I think they have to and maybe even ought to God help me saying this sign Zayn Ryan Zimmerman and it's fine and put him out. They will put him out there again in a platoon Situation they are minus a third baseman. Their the defensive infield not counting first base because Zimmerman is a good first basement. Yes they're second and third. Well we don't even know who they are. But if it's if Kendrick is out there Castro I is a pretty good field Cabrera third too much this says to me. They're not going after Donaldson. They don't have the money. I don't know if it's as it says that they're ready to start the season if he doesn't sign and they don't have to make another corresponding move if doesn't sign. It appears that if they signed Donaldson they have to go into the luxury tax wrecks which they've said publicly. I think publicly they. I don't WanNa do. Yeah Right which I think is absurd for Tim noticed. Won The world series. You know It if you're here's if if you're not going to resign random because its cost too much. You didn't sign Harper because it cost too much. Now you're saying he won't sign Donaldson 'cause you go into the tax and I liked the moves. They they may talk like all the moves they've made but at some point you gotta sign you have to actually pay. Real money to Donaldson is a little bit harder. When he's on the record saying all things being equal I I would like to go back to the braves so there could just be a sense of we can give him an abide? We'll give him acts. You're not going to do X.. Plus one which is fine. It's a position. He has said that. He said he wants the braves fan. Would say all right. We've we're still in this with Minnesota Nets if you've said that why haven't you already waiting for somebody to do. Which I I? The last year people have spent money this right public public people spending money. Yeah so I you know look I wish they would sign Donaldson or at least make bring in a third baseman. Somehow whether it's easier when in these other guys which is any of them would be fine with me but I do like is it themes or teams I never know? I think it's I don't know it's not a river. He's not a very good first baseman but not a river and its is bombs hit. It went on for Shire's wild card. Yup Yup nothing. Yeah so You know good pickup Castro. Good pickup. So you know. He's a Rizzo under the radar. So Castro and I'd no idea Castro was available and he's pretty good on loved him and he's on the cups right we'll say is not that good. Look it looks more and more likely that he will sign Zimmerman on a short deal as sort of a friendly. Let's have you leave on your terms. Lets you be part of the goodbye tour tour for two thousand nineteen and frankly would be a good pairing with Ames because seems has a big hole against lefty pitching and you could see a split like sixty five thirty five percent and you do have of an Infield that will work that serviceable. You can have Kendrick You could have Cabrera playing third unum Castro playing third but the danger is what happens when you can't really established publishing everyday rhythm. It obviously helps. When you have a lot of these guys in Kendra can't play every day but what happens when you're playing three or four positions over to period does that lead to an increase in errors? Here's in Wingfield. How does that hitching? I agree with everything you're saying. I think that the formula for the nats is a little different than other teams. The nats have had the oldest roster last year. They're probably going to have the oldest roster this year and so- managerial you make accommodations to people. It's sort of like glowed management. And also they. They're not really defensive. Players you move everybody around not in the outfield but in the Infield and you live with it You live with it. The problem is with no bat like renaissance in front of Soto people. Just come pitch around Soto. Well maybe you hope that robe lace is becomes in his second big year a big hitter. Her I don't I don't I agree with that. Yeah it's it's weird it's a weird alchemy because you're trying to fill the sort of the the winds above yet you lose with condone and you have to do this edition by looking at the small pieces. They're making in the infield which hopefully they'll work out together but also the additions in the bullpen. And what was what. It was a glaring weakness now as a relative strength and you have to be impressed by adding Harris to that mix as well and just think when you compare that with the top three that they have. What does that mean for those three or four game series against the braves which they got basically skunked and you look at if you look at their record against the division they were terrible against the braves? Raves and the mets and the mets the mets late in the season was because you had relievers giving up home runs in the back end of the game and frankly the philly record is only because they were able to below five games in a four day period when basically lineup. So that's that's where you see those winds trickling back on their side. But it's it's a best is case. Everything works as it's supposed to and you don't have sort of injuries or people missing their numbers. Big Nats talk today I I long so I'm with you. "But again, I'm completely happy with what I got and both on the pitching and here in the middle Marcus Simeon to Marlin Gonzales to and as Jubal Cabrera four, and this is where the money gets spent the outfield. Mike traffic seven Aaron judge thirty nine Andrew Benintendi, thirty seven. Aaron Hicks twelve he's that's weird. Jesse Winker seven and then Jake lamb utility for a buck. Yeah. I love your offense. I probably would have like I said just done the dollar pitcher thing and gotten one more big hitter in the middle. Or maybe like said Turner only win for thirty one Mary field. Only went for twenty one. So speed doesn't necessarily pay out very much in these. That's why you went with guys with a lot of power that walk because you get a point per walk in you get what is it like six points at least per home run. Yeah. Because depending on four for the base four for the actual homerun one for the run and then one for the RBI, so the high power high OB p guys or high walk rate guys are great. And that's I also like the fact that you grab a couple of different guys that can play multiple positions. Yes. Because I like sure a lot of like all of the other tout leagues you can actually change out your team on Fridays. Correct. And so. Having guys that can move around your infield. And and even I think what you got who was a Gonzales move into the out model. So I I really liked that the my big concern though. I think you kind of answered it talking about awesome bonds walk, right? I would have spent more in catcher because drop off at catcher in this format is pretty huge, exactly. And I didn't want to I didn't wanna get left out in the cold. So Janssen at seven. I was in there. And then, you know, one Barnes went one, though, I was like, you know, pay three or four forum. He went for once. I kind of just I just had him. I I would I think there were some other catchers that were available that were hiring just kinda wanna see what what was going to happen if he was going to get pushed to like four hundred about out and gone harder on somebody. But yeah, I could've gone like Janssen romo's for seven a piece something like that. I had both Gary Sanchez and real Muto as thirty. Eighty five dollar players in this format. That's crazy. Then they both went real on twenty six Sanchez went for twenty one. So not that I dislike I love, Danny Janssen. He's my catcher in one of my catchers in the main event and Barnes is is great especially with the walk rate. And now the Grendel is gone. He's gonna play all the time. I would probably spent up there a little bit more. Maybe instead of doing the Benintendi a one yet. And I I definitely spend big on him. That's obviously baking some sort of some breakout for Benintendi doesn't stripe cout either which helps in a point when you don't strike out. But he needs he needs to really come through..

"Addition of Bryce Harper, it's frustrating. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six Jared is in Brooklyn. What's up Jared? Going on. Me too old school Nixon. Games. Trumpet player OJ. Yesterday. You know? Yeah. Anyway, unfortunately, Jared it wasn't just yesterday was feels like it's like twenty five years ago, which is. Wild baseball. How would you grade? What would you say the winners? This is boring. Obviously, what would you say right now on a winners meal? We can go to good question. I can't say the NATs even with all the moves that they made because of the loss of Bryce Harper. I think the Phillies adding real Muto. And I mean, you want me to leave harbour out of it. How could you forget that the off season is not over yet? So the Phillies Muto Owen Harper. They to me are the winners. I mean, regardless of how many moves the Mets made the Phillies would be the winners would their off season. The Mets are book the Mets have had a solid offseason. Like just sitting around not doing anything. But they just lack the one big move that you want it. I don't believe Canoas that guy. That's what they believe. They believe was the big guy. And he's not to me. I think he's not. I think he's a. Still had. There. You can still play all of that move. Loyd made a lot of my Greenville's move Harper Machado gonna play on everyone's been. Thank you. With. And if he does that and you get a hundred start from the top corner. You're looking at a ninety to ninety five when game Martin every now I will Jared. I think that's probably a little over the top. And I appreciate your. I appreciate the call. I I wanna believe that. I just don't I don't believe it. And I can't get suckered anything I thought last year the Mets would be a good team. I thought the year before that would be a good team. And I was proven incorrect once again, so not falling for it. One more time I need to see it from them before. I go all in and said you're going to be ninety plus win team. Yeah. The starters are there. But the stores have been there. They've had those guys there before just replace Harvey with Wheeler essentially, it's the same thing. Now, you have Wheeler pitching as well as he did last year if he could do that this year and stay healthy. If Syndergaard could bounced back to fifteen sixteen form if degrom you expect them to do it. If he could stay healthy, you do what he did last year. Then they'll be fine in the rotation. The bullpen should be better. Is the bullpen. Great. I don't love familiar. I loved him and fifteen and sixteen I don't love them after the last couple of years. I think they could have done better. You rather have vino or familiar? Robertson or familiar, and maybe that's a closer one. But I I think I'd rather have Robertson. I didn't mind familiar, but I wanted one more to go with it d- as yes, you love familiar. Okay. Who's the third prong to that attack in the back into the bullpen? And it's not just an Walson. The main Justin Wilson is not that good. But anyway, bullpen should be improved catching you'd hope. It's improved. But romo's is a crap shoot to me. Not a great defensive catcher and a guy who's had issue. Staying healthy. Sound familiar? I mean, they basically have that and Travis d'arno. Now Ramos for more established then d'arno because he able to stay even with all the injuries. I mean, he's held you. Then darnold. Darnold has been essentially useless and his time here talk about a boss. He's been a big time bus. So they should be slightly upgraded at catcher. Upgraded third. You're gonna say Lowery over Frazier. All right. That's fine. They've upgraded the debt significantly that is one area where has been major upgrade. You have to look at Wilmer Flores or Jose Reyes anymore. Anybody else? Lewis skewer may coming up in the minor leagues. Those days are over. Is can know that much of an upgrade over as drubel Cabrera. And before you say, oh my God. Of course, he is, Sal, what are you crazy? Think about what Israel Cabrera did here when he was with the Mets offensively get played like an all star. Canot pound for pound. Yeah. He's a better player can always a much better resume. If Keno has a typical canot year is going to be better than what is your book Cabrera day. But you're losing good. Production is Jubal Cabrera there. So I don't think the I think the upgrade on the bench is far greater than it would be at second base. Nimmo Conforto in the outfield. Same thing in centerfield the same back. One of those guys are going to be maybe a little garrison maybe Braxton. A clearly against lefties. That's going to be the case. So we're going to have two different looks McNeil's gonna play left field against righties. I don't love that idea. I just don't think the are that I'm sorry. I don't think they're that. Good. If they stay healthy if everything goes, right? They could be a mid eighties. When team Richard is in Daytona Beach. What's up, Richard? Hey, how was the big race today? Richard disappointing with all those crashes down the stretch. Come on. I'm going to baseball football basketball. Okay. But the Mets they you know, they make folks and Foxton they got lowering. It could have had who most you mean. I wish they got Ruiz. I wish they got Ruiz. I like Carlos. Yeah. As you retired. They could add. Could had a utility guy while Gonzalo right, also LSU, and you leave. I agree. I mean, you agreed. So why it was the same money while you don't know that because you're talking about Marlin Gonzales, you don't know what he would have gotten Pollick. You know, what he got? So you could add that in there. They would have spent more on fewer players. But again, it's the same thing, Richard. I've been saying it for us now with this team want they go quantity over quality. I'd rather go quality over quantity. And by the way, I was talking about this will produce a fleet. Again, you know, Mike Mushtaq is we we mentioned before Mike Mushtaq is essentially it's essentially he has played on one year deals the last couple of years. So you you totally for two years. Eighteen point seven million the Mets gave Todd Frazier two years seventeen million. So they made a big mistake. They could've offered I don't know. Whether I didn't wanna come to New York. Whether there was some other issues, but financially and production-wise you much rather have a guy like Mike stock is then you would Todd Frazier. So the Mets missed the boat on that you couple years ago and again. Here. They are going with quantity as opposed to quality. Ammo for thirty years. And it's a problem Richard, thanks for the call. And, you know, look if you're in Daytona Beach, maybe you should watch a little NASCAR Tom is in west Babylon. What's up? Hey. UCLA don't buddy good. How are you? Tom. Yeah, we should have. They should have done that. But they don't they should have got Robinson. They didn't do that. That's on the Mets work. They always like tweet us. They put these little pieces, and they have a better, maybe a bench show people that get hurt. Absolutely. GM we needed. I'm not saying winner. I honestly, I don't like opera, but. We got the pitching staff we got you don't like him as a player you don't like him because he's for so long. Well, maybe. He's a he's a good player. Look. He has to bring to Washington. They've won a bunch of divisions. They've been a perennial playoff team when it comes to the World Series. Series. I understand that. But a lot of players don't wanna World Series. I I wouldn't use that as a knock on him. If you want to look at his numbers being inconsistent. I guess you could you could throw that out there. But. I mean, I don't know if I would do it. The catching situation is not. Kept here. He warned top-flight pitch. You want for nothing. Well, I mean. Well, the Mets the Mets could look the Mets could have overpaid for real Muto, and they chose not to. It's something that I would have chosen to do you could have had a scenario where you over. They overpaid for Robinson connote didn't they and as I mean, they get the as a young controllable closer arguably one of the best in the game. So that's why you make that deal. But you're taking on Robbins Okinawan that money you could have gave up a ton of prospects to get him. Why? Because everything that was happening with Machado would hop at eighty more to go. If we could get Robertson Cano picking up his ex all that money, which really nothing when you look at it. That's not the GM. I'm sorry. Smokescreens always bringing people aren't the artistry deporting Canosa one reason, let's hope they hit a home run in the first year, but you're going to get his contract. When he gets. Third fourth or fifth year. Like like, David Wright. By then they may have the D H in play. Anyway. Cool. But so Tom to your point. Thank you for the call. I think that it was a scenario where they knew their work with limited resources, and they're not going to go out there and spend big Machado or Harper. So they wanna make a big splash and Brodie van wagon and wants to go out there and acquire a star caliber offensive player Kono's available because the Mariners couldn't give him away because of his contract. They don't want them coming off a PD suspension where he misses half the season thirty six years of age and that contract they couldn't give them away. So what are the Mets do they take? They took them because they were getting the closer along with him. That's the piece in the trade that obviously you would even consider taking Robinson. You don't get a piece like D as back, but they gave up a lot to get them. Connotes got to produce. I, and that's the way the team is by the way, we're talking about Bryce Harper there. He's been inconsistent with the average. I know I love batting average. I'm a dinosaur. But I still believe in batting average batting average. I'm in a good Goodyear. Simple as that. Bryce Harper in two thousand fifteen hit three thirty with forty two homers two thousand sixteen to forty with twenty four homers. I mean that's inconsistent in two thousand seventeen backup to three nineteen with twenty nine homers and then last year to forty nine with thirty four homers. I mean, the he's he's been inconsistent Bryce Harper. On base percentage. Same thing up and down up in two thousand fifteen down in two thousand sixteen up in two thousand seventeen down in two thousand eighteen..

"The mets than they think it would be in defense would be the only difference right because frazier is is a underrated defensive part i don't think it understood how sharp of defensive player he is and i think that's part of the biggest thing that we're going to see from that team this year is that their defense is going to be improved with frazier in rosario on the left side aging and always as jubal cabrera not great on on the right side but they they should gives us actually pretty decent defender in his day i don't really know what we're going to expect i have low expectations for him and that could be floor as his way into more playing time he did improve against right he's last year i get your general point though because the 26yearold floor as is feels like he's 32 because he's been around forever literally since he was sixteen we've been hearing about will florez so the fact that he's only twenty six usually jars some people if they if they don't follow him intimately and i think we still could see another level from him so frazier joining definitely cuts them off a little bit but i do still think there's an opportunity for floor as if he can beat out adrian zealots because they have no investment in him atlanta's paying in dollars so he's a league minimum for the mets and if it doesn't work any any is just two injured to really do anything they cut bait with him right away and you put floor as in it first i think for that angle it does immediately heard him but it lowers the draft stock and i think makes frazier floor is a little bit easier to buy in on yeah and i agree there 'cause i don't i don't trust back issues i don't either so i mean you know and and i it's hard because i want to buy in on mickey getting back with from the back issue but an enlarged for me to do that but aging it's also the guy that you know just come has completely falling apart physically come going to be thirty six this year i just i i could see floors break at his way into the lineup there frazier from a fantasy standpoint is interesting because i think is long as you southeast gonna play a full slate you know get bags of being that 150plus gained guy.

"So if they make the right moves with some payroll flexibility they're going to have uh i think they could bounce back one of the more interesting decisions to me for them is what do you do with matt harvey you you know who's been terrible the last two years he's obviously the offfield issues his fastball velocities down it some point i think they're going to have a tough decision to there selim for twenty cents in the dollar and trade or perhaps this winter i've had evaluators other teams say that look now i don't think anyone would question the mets at this point if they actually nantes entered matt harvey based on what we've seen what are you seen in the mets yeah we'll do me a toppled non tendered guy who were that good that refill a you know i think the problem with matt harvey is you know you look at it and and i think you have to get the sense that a lot of problems are selfinflicted i mean he obviously had the mission was off the field a personal thing then you know i think that uh dave freely admitted he gone know for for some help for some issues than so you know what do you have in the guy and boy do me just to give up when a guy like that and and like you said sell for twenty thirty cents on the dollar i mean he is a guy i still think who look maybe not going to be the dark night of gothom bush but he could still be uh pretty darn good pitchers so get hate to have a distress they'll for a guy like that but thirdly to me you know you look a guy like grander center bruce or as jubal cabrera i mean i don't know what exactly you're gonna get for those guy but uh as you said uh i think he does a good time when you look at the march said uh and you see.
