"More. We're talking to Roman Harper here for those of you who just pop back on board here. And yeah, I joke about Kirby. He's the SEC coach of the year. He's doing great. Except now he's the pressure's on Paul. He's in the playoffs. But they don't need another egg laid. No, they don't. Michigan's a great team. They've had a great season Jim Harbaugh should be another coach that's in the coach of the year discussion with what he's been able to do and accomplish this year from Michigan. Beating Ohio State and doing the things that they've done. But Michigan and Georgia are mirror images when it comes to how they want to win ball games in college football. They both want to be able to run the football starts up front offensively running the football play action pass game coming to live playing really good stout defensively. They win defensively different ways. Michigan wins defenses by the past arrest. There are two edge rushers, a jabo, an Aden Hutchinson, both ballers. They both can get after the quarterback and get sex at high numbers. So that can affect Georgia. If they don't secure the edges and take care of those guys up front, then you will not have the explosive passes that Georgia likes to get down the field. Missing on the other, as we all know how they're going to have to defend Georgia, you have to try and get fancy a little bit in the run game to try and move these big guys of Georgia up front in their front 7 and then have an opportunity to maybe attack them downfield. They just don't have the speed guys that Alabama has like jamison Williams and the quarterback as well to be able to attack George's secondary the way Alabama exploited them over the past weekend. So you feel moderately confident about Georgia getting passion? I do. I do. I still think George is the best. I mean, they were the best team in the country. All year long. But, I mean, they just got dropped kicked in the face last week and didn't know it didn't respond. And you also got to say, Georgia hasn't played a tough game. It's something to be said about playing tough games and being in tough moments and how do you respond from that? Georgia was not pushed all year long. I heard a crazy stat steps in but stets and Ben only thrown 20 passes in the fourth quarter all year long. That means they're totally sitting on the ball and there's no pressure to go out there and win a game for your quarterback. So what happens and how do you respond when you have to go out there and win a game? And they did not answer. Kirby, sometime in the late third, early fourth, given JT Daniels a shot. I mean, he's made this bed. He kind of has to be with it. Yeah, he's there. And that's not on me. I'm just an analyst. That's Kirby's team. He knows that team. He knows that quarterback room. And he knows what's best for his team. So it'd be really hard for me. I could sit up there and say what to do. You know, I could sit up there and say whatever I want Paul, but I'm not gonna do that, 'cause I love Kirby as a coach as a player as a human being. I love you. I got Kirby's back, so I'm not sure. I get it. You can question Paul. That's what you get paid for, but you get paid for that. I'm up here to say answers, and I'm not going there because I'm not going to sit up here and tell you what Kirby should do. That's Kirby's team. Well, that's George. Let me ask you this. By you saying that? Are you not telling us you agree with the question that he should? Because otherwise you would have said, don't let me put words in your mouth. Otherwise, you would have said, he did the right thing. Also, look at it from the other side. Okay, if you do put in JT Daniel, someone some of Georgia's biggest plays in the second half with sets and Bennett scrambling for multiple yards of running the football. JT's not doing that. J two would have been a sit and duck back there. So you might not even have the success that you had in the second half. So I can actually defend it a lot better than I can actually tell you about JT. Tell me why the most vaunted defense in modern history couldn't lay a hand on Bryce young because Bryce young is slick in the pocket and like I said, when everybody looked at me like I was crazy on Friday when I said George's best pass rusher and edge Russian Anderson is suspended that their big guys up front are actually really great run stoppers not dynamic pass rushers and that when Alabama gave up 7 sacks versus auburn, which you yourself admittedly off camera, has said I put way too much stock into that. Thank you for admitting that you were wrong Paul. Not in front of everybody else but in front of me, but I'm calling you out about it. Thank you. That, yes, I'm going to have never say anything to you important that to you. Okay, I'll probably put it right back on front of air. But yes, the fact that all those things matter and that when you play against auburn, it really wasn't so much that arvin just physically dominated Alabama's offensive line as much as it was the hand snap and the malfunction between the quarterback and sinner snap and all those things, the organization, the offensive line, not getting off on the ball and auburn getting four or 5 sacks just off of that alone. Is what it really piled up to. So the numbers in the optics are not what exactly what they seem. I thought Alabama still had the advantage offensively and that they were going to be able to score and actually stress Georgia's defense like no other team had the ability to be able to do. We are chatting with Roman Harper, Roman, if they played again. And I know that there's four to 5 weeks away. Why would any of us believe the game will be different? I mean, because people make up reasons to be right all the time. And that's what they will do, but I'm still going to stick with Alabama. I think it'll be a different Georgia team. I'd love how to see how they perform versus Michigan, how did the health factor go into it, especially with you being out for Alabama? That would be another key piece. How does Alabama continue to have these other young wide receivers step up and how do they handle the games versus Cincinnati, who will not be an easy out for Alabama, not as much as what some people are trying to say. You mentioned some of the other games. Florida, UCF. I will Kentucky. Sneaky, good game. Yes. Because Iowa wins all force and turnovers their second in the country by forcing turnovers. Kentucky, we all know is a good team. But man, they have their blunders and turn the football over at high, high rates at times. So if they get in one of those games where they turn the football over, I was going to win this game. Because that's what they do. But I was not a pretty game. They're not going to make this thing beautiful. And they're not going to be exotic. They're just going to do what they do and just win it because they're defense. Old miss Baylor, what Dave Iran has been able to do this year, he should be in the head coach of the year, conversation as well. Great job when the big 12 this year and just going out there and playing their style of branded defense and winning ball games the way that they want to. Mack Reyes done a really good job of taking care of the football this year. If Baylor has their way, they're going to force them into some mistakes..

"Welcome back. Great job all of you hear more of your phone calls at 8 5 5 T four two. 7 to 8 5. Steve is up next. Hey Steve, hey, mister Paul. Thanks for taking my call. Thank you. Concern the attack on December 7th, 1941. And this is 80s then grocery of that. I've seen a lot of major reports mentioning that attack, but have yet to hear who it was attacked or harbor on that day. And for everybody that doesn't know that it was the Japanese. And that disparage in Japanese people of today, but a lot of people don't know this, I think, especially young folks. What do you think about that? It's obviously something I've never really wondered about since I've heard about that all my life, but you may be right. It's hard to imagine that people that grow up and go to school and wouldn't realize one of the most important days in American history and really where it came from. But you're probably right. And miss Paul could turn in the SEC championship game, Georgia. Alabama. I think Georgia going into that game. They knew they were going to be in the playoffs, whether or not they won or lost. And I'm thinking that kind of took the edge off and they might have that edge if they were to play Alabama again. What do you think about this? I don't necessarily subscribe to that because to me, you're playing a team that you have not beaten. You're playing a team that has everybody on that team or almost everybody has been affected by Alabama in some way. You're playing the greatest coach of all the time. The biggest name of the industry. I don't buy that. You also have the opportunity to get rid of them if it comes out that the players say we really weren't all that excited and I'll be shocked because it's the SEC championship. Alabama has done that. Did that the year before? They didn't play a perfect game, but they won the game. That sounds like an excuse to me. Let's talk to Alan, who is in Georgia. Hello, Allen. Hey, Paul. How are you today? Very well. Again. A couple weeks ago, we both said, if we don't see JT Daniels in the next two weeks, we'll be shocked and here we are. You know, I've been on the blogs. I've been on YouTube. I've been on everything with the insiders, the guys and you've heard everything from he's got the yips or he brought in his own personal doctor and courson cleared him in his dad said otherwise. At the end of the day, none of that even is relevant at this point. We've got a team full of four and 5 stars up and down both offensive line defensive line, four or 5 star receivers tight ends, running backs, and we have a walk on quarterback. Taking the snaps. Forget JT Daniel at this point. Where's Carson back? Where's brought Vanderbilt? I mean, you know what I mean? What is going on here? It's like a never ending nightmare. At the quarterback position, Easton, Brown, fields, farm. Eastern and fields, both of them take its snaps on Sunday. Brahms doing everything he can to barely stay on the practice squad. I mean, at what point do we just see what do you think? What do you think going on here? Alan, I don't know. I understand the reluctance to rush JT Daniel back, but who would have thought that we wouldn't see him at all in that game and it's one thing if that was a one possession game, but when it became a three possession game, I can't imagine not making that money. That's not even an adjustment. That's a necessary thing you have to do. Right. You got to change. You got to stop. This, what this is. And I know that this was too great as coaches today, most people would agree at Sabin and dabo Sweeney. Davos Sweeney had that situation with Kelly Bryant. He didn't blank by putting a freshman in. And we all know that Saban did. And this is where the narrative on Kirby smart becomes more problematic. And I'm not about to go too hard until we see the completion of the season because he very well can write the wrongs. And if he dances off on January 10th, then this was a very bad blip that they learned from. But if he doesn't, it's hard to scrape this away. Absolutely. And everybody, and I've heard it on the show yesterday and today, everybody's just assuming that it's going to be Jordan and Alabama in the national championship. I don't think Cincinnati has the talent to hang with Alabama. I think they may make it a game for a little bit, but Alabama is just too deep. They're too talented. They're too well coached. They will be gone. But I'm telling you right now. If we start sitting Bennett against Michigan, we won't be playing again this season. That would be right. Anyway, we have three weeks to chisel this one down. Let's take a break. We have a lot to do on the program. Pause here, el Duncan was our first guest in case you were wondering who the lady wearing the blanket was..

"Meteorology careers adapt. I used to be able to handle cold. 70 pounds heavier. I used to be able to handle the two and I don't know what happened, but I hate it now. Is there anything less than 60? I'm out. 60s my limit. I'm trying to find the perfect locale for that. Shouldn't they get you like a hater underneath? Well, not it's funny. My madri asked Laura, if she wanted a heater for tomorrow morning, meanwhile, I'm sitting here turning into a cadaver. Y'all talking about me shaven. I picked a stupid time to do. Let's get that this is obviously not a hillbilly headline here, but what's the deal? We got home from Knoxville and my beard was itchy. And so I was like, you know, it's been a while. I'm going to turn it down so I trimmed it way down with like a tremor. And then I was in the shower and I was like, you know what? It's probably been 8, 6, 7, 8 years since I had a clean shaven face, and I wanted to look like Paul found ball. So I busted out the bacon went to work and it's the most polarizing thing we got here this morning. There's already a lot of public discourse on them. Yes, it's been great unrest. And work for like your Luke combs crew. One thing about me though, man, I'm like a chia pet. I can have a beard and two or three days. So don't worry. It will be back. I would I had one for a long time. How'd that go? Why did you shave it off? I'd rather not admit this, but I was on trial. You had heard from some people. It's true. We were working in a newspaper, not too far from here. And we were sued by someone and they had me shave for the trial. And then one of the lawyers tried to be a smart alley. He said, mister fehn bomb, you look a little different than you did, but we saw you at your deposition. I said, yes. He said, you had a beard. I said, I think you did too. And lawyers like, don't start. Just don't talk. Don't be a smart out. Only speak when spoken to me. I got ream for that afterwards. We did win the case, by the way, but that's all that matter. But yeah, I never go one back after that. I think I lost ten. I think aesthetically, I lost ten years. I still have a lot of gray hair, but you do look like you're younger. Yeah. I might keep it like looking younger. A 30 year old now. I'll take it. 30 better and 45. They're giving me a Cal down here. I don't even remember what we were talking about, but what's our count? Where are we? Where we got two and a half minutes. Two and a half minutes. Okay. Well, I can tell you. I was in Athens on Wednesday. Doing a big feature on Jordan Davis for the SEC championship here in a couple weeks. But while I was down there I sat down instead some Ben. Oh great. And had a conversation with him about, you know, his path is so interesting. And he's played so well this year. And I'm going to tell you some of you. Have you interviewed him on this show? I don't think so. You've interviewed everybody. I'mma tell you something. When this interview airs on SEC, SEC nation tomorrow, you guys are going to be taking aback at his honesty. I was about I'm trying not to give away too much, but basically when you ask him about where this season would live in his wildest dreams as a kid who grew up dreaming of being the Georgia bulldogs quarterback. He said, look, you wouldn't. You wouldn't pick me at YMCA. I mean, look, basically, we're almost the same size. So that's an enemy. We're not that different. I mean, he's probably more muscular. Maybe just a but we got our joy. You were not that different. He was just so honest about his positioning and his self confidence, his self confidence abounds, and then when you talk to his teammates about him, they would follow that dude into the fire. And it's palpable throughout the entire program. You know, he sat behind from him, went to juco came back, JT Daniel shows up. He said, you know, and all he has done is won. Undefeated SEC slate and a team that looks like it's certainly capable of winning the national championship. And he's grown his skill set. He talked about that. Why he's a better player now? It was just really fascinating to me to get to spend the time with him and learn from him in a very direct way about the season that he's had and kind of what that looks like. So I can't wait for you guys to see that. Tomorrow morning on SEC nation, I can not wait to, well, thanks. That was worth getting a prelude to Marty. "Out every down 14 late yesterday and Mac Brown gets a huge win against wake forest. That's an example. What have we said, all year? Transportal. All this stuff regarding players and their commitment. Those are two guys that Sam Hill Tyson Titan are those guys. Good win for them because they had an opportunity to just fold up and they didn't. And so I was very impressed with both of those guys yesterday with what they were able to do and get a win and kind of get that season rolling again from 5 informed the season. Big one Thursday night against Pitt on ESPN. Before we get out of here, we're going to write the headline in a minute. I didn't touch on this topic with you because I'm fascinated to hear your thought. Was yesterday's game against Missouri that cracked window to integrate JT Daniels back into the offense to eventually make the move. Yes, it was. And it was the only it was a necessary opportunity. You knew it was going to happen. You knew that's Georgia gives up three or 6 points a game. Or 7, depending on the opponent or ten, but you knew this was really the last chance, because I'm not going to try to sell you this game, nationally. I'll leave that to CBS. But suddenly Georgia Tennessee is an interesting game. Yeah. And it's particularly interesting because Tennessee can recklessly score with hinden hooker. It's so well put. It is the best I've heard them put. They recklessly score. Their defense is really poor, but in terms of but doesn't matter. This is what Tennessee bought bought and Josh hypo and they're getting it. And the fact that they're getting a marky game in November when was the last time in Knoxville. Yeah. I mean, we can we can say that we can do a whole podcast on hypo in what he's done with the depleted roster. NCAA sanctions, but we won't, but you're right. I'm interested to see how the JT thing progresses throughout the year because I don't know, look, stetson Bennett's been good. Does anyone think that they can make a run through Alabama and the SEC championship with statin? I don't know. JT's the guy. He's the talented guy. In terms of a 5 star. The Alabama team that played last night they could. Absolutely. But that's not going to happen. I don't think that's going to happen in the championship game. But yeah, I think Georgia needed that. And I think Kirby after as the second half as the first half ended against Florida, he knew he didn't have to play JT Daniel, and I think he was wise to keep him out. Yeah, I agree. Right. The headline..

"Eastern ESPN Radio and ES began news and then don't forget beginning January 5th Greenie with Mike Greenberg beginning, Tim A M Eastern time holding and go Joe the 79 yard touchdown run by Jerome Ford on Lee scoring in that third quarter. Longest rush Georgia has allowed in the last 15 seasons after you guys start the fourth. Wow. How about that? That's a great note. Kevin? Yeah. Only 85 yards for Cincinnati and offense in the third quarter and 79 yards on the Ford scamper was most of it. Lot offense all by either side in that quarters. We get the fourth Cincinnati moving right to left out back to throw. Ritter is being chased from behind movie to his right on his feet. He'll just fire that one out of bounds intentionally. That's the first play in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati leading 21 attempt and usually when we get a goose egg on both sides, point wise after that initial burst in the quarter, I'm saying offenses and executing, but no, these defense's of both come to play Cincinnati on their side who came into this game leading FBS in yards per play allowed by defense has looked every bit of the part, as has this Georgia front for Cincinnati trying to finish the season undefeated with a victory, they will close it out as an unbeaten team attendant all A 14 minutes and 53 seconds to pull that off. Against the powerhouse in Georgia's SAT back for Ritter is gonna hand off now to the back. Who's gonna duck inside your own? Ford had a great run. Play against them three yards of victory for Cincinnati, put it into context against the team like Georgia. I just saw the tweet from Dan Orlovsky uses great job is a college and pro analyst forces that expansion mandatory. All eyes are on this game. It's the Power five against the group of five. It's this playoff expansion. If the SEC all of this at stake in a game that feels a lot bigger than just one game certainly does. The bear cats and their program. Which has emerged as a tremendous program. Trying to finish up undefeated. The staff. Back to throw Ridder and it is knocked out of his hands from behind. The football is loose down on the deck in a pile on that Georgia says they have it and Georgia has the football. They have forced the turnover and a big one. Indeed, with 14 minutes to go in the fourth, trailing by 11 and disease, Ojul Ari there outside linebacker, Russian shot out of a cannon. On that play, and he gets the great 2021 sack where he's not going for the big hit. He goes for the strip. First take away for Georgia. Man. Did he come flying in like Superman and back that away a giant turnover. And a wild up recovered at the 25 yard line. So the Bulldogs with tremendous position here. Incredible bit of sudden change, Georgia's defense said to overcome it so many times, and now they provide a great bit of sudden change for that offense. Who's got the ball on the opposing 25? First down and 10 for JT Daniel's staff back to him. He's gonna step up now and throw short got it free to his tight end Fitzpatrick, who is upended after picking up the first down On the far sideline a 17 yard gain. Fitzpatrick a little bit gimpy.

"Pressure, thereby Cincinnati but a penalty 25 found young panel is still first down. Jay Sanders. There leads the team in sacks and tackles for loss used to getting up field. But that time that jump a little too well time in that spot here is we see him almost even with the hips of the offensive tackle Warren McClendon at the start of the snap. That's a no go Daniel's taken now with some authority but a penalty. So that'll make it first and five. Bulldogs on the drive behind JT Daniel's, their third quarterback to start a game this season. Cares Jackson in motion right to left. Now, the snap back for Daniel's in the pocket. He's throwing. He's throwing deep downfield, and it's going to be incomplete. He threw behind his receiver. Was intended for Smith. And it was thrown pretty well short. Hi Daniels. Trying to spit split both of those safeties again. Great information by Monk in motion before the snap, Daniel Caesar and I've got zone coverage. I've got the middle of the field open and that time throws it underneath. Great job by DEREK Force not coming back into the body, the offensive player for the flag. Second five right around midfield and a hand off here for the running back. We'll try the right side, Sameer White and Samir White, pounding ahead great second effort. He's gonna pick up eight yards and a first down, just bouncing off of Cincinnati would be tacklers. Little misdirection. The pitch. With pullers out in front of them on the run, but such a great individual effort in a great job by his offensive lineman with the pull block, grab it. Bring him with me on that one. For the first down, he's coming. 11 05 left in the 3rd 21 to 10 Cincinnati here in the Chick fil a Peach Bowl. Out of the gun Daniels and off again for white right side.
Georgia Bulldogs announce no make-up game for Vanderbilt Commodores cancellation
"Always great to Welcome back mike griffith to the program and mike. Let's start with the georgia bulldogs. After a spectacular saturday. They were hoping for one more game. It had already been postponed and now it has been canceled in what has been the reaction there and can anything be done about well. We're not gonna probably ever have anything like this in the future but really curious about your thoughts. Yeah a lot of fury. A lotta anger at georgie. No i it's twofold one georgia's playing great football. Jt daniels i mean before jt. They convert forty two percent of the third downs with jt. They convert sixty six right. Jt daniel six touchdown passes on on third down throws three incompletions. I mean the guys night and day. It's been amazing. Some people maybe. It's the schedule actually know if you look at the third down defense is the last. Three teams actually ranked better than the first six on average. What georgia's played. This guy has made all the difference in the world. It makes a difference in recruiting. Suddenly you have players. That are migrating to georgia that. Want to be a part of the georgia offense again so this transformation is happening in the shadows. Now that's georgia's fault. They didn't take care of business when they needed to jacksonville or in tuscaloosa and so they're sitting out this week so you don't get to see it but it's been happening on saturdays in athens and this georgia outgoing class. All these guys had an opportunity to be the winningest class in georgia football history. That's quite a legacy. But because vanderbilt canceled out all they can do is tie that mark now and so the a piece of their legacy is gone understand. Covid nineteen is not controllable but in the case of vanderbilt its players that are quitting the team and in the case of vanderbilt they cancelled on december fifth rally the troops for their senior day on december twelve and then canceled on georgia again. After the fact so georgia couldn't even get an alternative game that was acceptable for the senior day. So there's a lot of of anger and frustration and disappointment and all george can do now is hope that they get a good bowl draw. I think they need notre dame to upset clemson. I think if that happens. And if chalk holds and ohio state beat the bad northwestern and alabama roles florida. You could see georgia clemson in the orange bowl and i think that could excite the georgia fan but as things currently project. You're looking maybe. Cincinnati georgia in which case. Maybe some georgia guys opt out and say you know what it's cincinnati. It's it's not a real game.

"Freshman quarterback JT Daniel says good days. this will not be one of the. three and a half sacks the Russian defense is not allowed. one longer than yards they are going to dominate this game against Arizona state really. okay now here's the deal with that Jay Daniels hasn't had a great day eleven of eighteen eighty eight yards four point nine average no touchdowns you know Benjamin for Kerry's twenty six are there twenty eight yards rushing as a team a hundred and what fifteen issue yards rushing total yards as a team and they're up three nothing. I get to Michigan state and that's the way that that stands right now or put another way Michigan state has the same amount of points that the three of us have scored against the college football defense today and we have been outstanding by the way ballot and South Carolina controversy at the end of that first half why there was no extended review about Rico dot all about him whether or not he got into the end zone for the touchdown SEC officiating is tweeted out that the replay official saw the right knee was down to the call could not be overturned there for the game was not stop for additional review every place reviewed only when necessary is the game stop for further review there's a lot of pressure on these officials in the replay booth because of big screen high definition televisions and everybody sitting at home you things that they know better and sometimes they do know better but most of the time you can be confident that you officials are right South Carolina just kicked a field goal to pull that in thirty four to sixteen why would there down twenty one in the fourth quarter. and you kick a field goal what did that do for you you just gotta to eighteen okay number you're still down three scores was the number of they were favored by twenty five it probably covered the spread for them well I have a hard time believing that's what will Muschamp's thinking at the start of the fourth quarter give me a different explanation I have no better one I'm not making an accusation I'm just trying to think of options to choose from look if you're trying to win the game you don't kick a field goal down twenty one in the fourth quarter. when the date that's right. we've had some interesting field goal kicking decisions today that's the kind of day it's been with ragged verses on rec games are trying to grasp at straws we had interesting stuff it it it David shock kick a field goal of for that fifteen you got mark Dantonio Booton feel go office and none of them going and you know what that we shouldn't be surprised by this you try a field goal when it it matters not you know I mean what are you gaining from kicking a field goal then twenty one of course he makes it. if it mattered he never would've made that college gameday on ESPN radio ESPN app coverage of coincidence Syracuse straight ahead here on ESPN radio ESPN.

"Got so many unique ways of attacking he puts his quarterback in a position where it I talked to him this week he says I don't want my quarterback to be a robot I want to turn him loose get comfortable with the scheme led to make decisions and not worry about making mistakes and you could tell that he's he's like a quarter mandates works with with Jalin hurting gotten in a position to go out I think the big thing I took away from this is yeah we're still going to see the R. P. owes you can still see him throwing the ball round he still as weapons but when he runs the ball like he did in Alabama it's a different way of running the what Kyler Murray deter Baker Mayfield that he's running with purpose he's running down hill it is a defense that puts a lot of pressure on you to have to be able to withstand that and deal with all the other stuff that we can run the can do in the passing game the six touchdowns for which church was responsible most by an Oklahoma player in a season opener in the last decade and a half. Sooners getting there when. jail herds had a career night said they still have to get better at least Oklahoma has their quarterback U. S. C.. B. Fresno state Saturday but the Trojans losing their quarterback JT Daniel suffering a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee he'll be having surgery and he's done for the year back to curb street I mean imagine your own fan but part of your own fan base is cheering against you because they they wanted potential change with the head coach and now you lose your die you lose JT Daniels who last year was a freshman made some mistakes but showed enough to get you excited about where he could be this year with all these his receivers returning and then to lose him in the opening we can now you go to another freshman they play with a true freshman last year and now you got to play with another true freshman so but their next five games I don't care who they had a quarterback we do it was going to be a grind you know it it's going to be tough for them to be able to get through that and with all the pressure on Lynn Swann and clay Helton was one of the good guys in the business you wonder where they're going to be standing by the time they get the week six and if they have even have a chance to be having a winning record at that point the general is done for.

S. C. coaching watch is going to move on lost that game I know and that's again and that that that stuff is clay Helton really needed Daniels to have this like Heisman Trophy type year or at least you know all American type year tell Sir to kind of just you know calm everybody down over over there with that Trojan fans that's not gonna do anything to help with that injury it doesn't help the pac twelve either it's it's a domino effect and you talk we've already talked about Oregon getting beat the poor crowded Stanford for their game versus northwestern they need someone to elevate themselves out west and get back in the national spotlight at USC is the prime candidate but now with that injury I think it's going to be another tough year for the pac twelve mark tells returns best week ever return to bring in our buddy Mike a four little rapid fire water cooler Lesko.

"And he said that first thing he said like I kind of took as a compliment is like he so competitive, Jim you and ham are going to get along. So well, you're kind of guys you're kind of quarterback. And what really impressed me was he said from the time he started working with him. He said GM there is no quarterback I've ever trained that works on his own is much is K does in his backyard. I give I give him coaching points. And then he goes and works on it. Like, no quarterback I've ever trained before you just talk a little bit about that. Yeah. I know Jordan's been soreness turn into some kind of been very influential for all three of my boys. But he's so how it started his gardens and Jordan's and southern California. And you know, we live in Reno Nevada breath. That's either a twelve hour drive or you know, one hour flight. So we get to see him only about four or five times a year when Cain was great Jordan didn't wanna work with. I mean, he didn't wanna work for someone that young. And at the time we've been met him one time and then Jordan after that section that he had never seen a young kid. I contact with him, and he's still interested in what he was saying. And then right, then and there he said I wanna I wanna I want to coach your kid all the way through as far as he can go. And so I think I think really him in like JT Daniel at USC right now are the only two kids that you really take on. He's always working with college guys that are doing into the NFL or. NFL guy tone back during the season. But so it's one of those deals where you get a prescription. You know, so to speak, and then we wouldn't see him for a while. And dad like, hey, I'm gonna do this kid, and whatever he tells her fixed my time to get down there. You know? Yeah. So so he would fix things quickly. And you know, we have if bad weather here too. And he I mean, he's been the torch to take snow shovel field shovel off, you know, ten fifteen yards worth of of a stripe 'cause we can take his and we're on things like that or work for work with her ladder. So he just always had it like in you telling me earlier that he's throwing every day. That's that's not kind of to is the total gym rat. And he absolutely loves the idea. I think he's it's almost like Disneyland porn right now. And he had said that. But it's like okay for me to work out every day. And there's other guys that want to do it with me. And so I think he it is like the ultimate the oldest and the ultimate experience so far..

"From me NFL people forget that Lynn Swann, Phil pro football hall of Famer. So we gotta remember that where his his his roots are as well. But it all came down to USC didn't realize how attractive cliff Kingsbury was crazy things. Just crazy. They didn't realize it. But that's crazy. I didn't realize how how is that possible? Gerke will because we one thing that we did realize that he's a great offensive mind. So the one thing that you would say was cliff would be offered possibly jobs as an offense coordinator and the rational football. And she did the Rams and the chiefs were both interested in him as an OC. That was the thing that we said. Okay. Offense coordinator, I get. Yes. Offense coordinator offensive coordinator. USC was I look you can be offensive coordinator here for year. Do you've got a young quarterback. Then JT Daniel saw look the foundation was there. Right. But then when you look at what happened though, George, and if you look at it from the US perspective, I think they just had no idea they were clueless. But I think a lot of us were clueless, Brian when you sit back, and you look what the decision that cliff Kingsbury had to make it just didn't look attractive to the US side. And I'll I'll say this because you look at what USC has coming back. First of all, I was always told this George never get on a. Boat. That's already taken on water. USC was already taken on water. Right. Clay Claes kind of in trouble. He's already taken on water. Yeah. So you're attaching yourself with a coach that probably if things don't work out your way, you'll be the one at fault and everybody still gets fired. Right. So or even if you are successful, you're not going to get the head coaching job because you still got to keep the same coach that was already in place. So all these things are going through Kingsbury is my right. But then you sit down and you like Arizona Cardinals. What do they have have the offer? They got the number one overall pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL draft. They've got young quarterback. Josh Rosen who I can mentor and really strip him down and build him back up. I've got the one of the best running backs in the league that everybody kind of forgot about David Johnson. Patrick Peterson Chandler Jones on defense seventy million dollars of cap space. George right. Gerald think about all the things and people were saying well USC how could he leave SE and he signed a contract? No, look at what was out there form. If you don't understand that this is a stepping stone for him. This was a job you can turned out. I don't care anybody out there who was a coach at somewhere. This is an upgrade this is an NFL head coach with this much promise in what you have going on. This was a no brainer. You gotta take this opportunity. And I think USC did not realize how attractive of a coach cliff Kingsbury were they got him at his lowest when he had just got fired from Texas Tech nearby say, well, he's got a rebuild himself. Maybe he may take a lower job or he may do this. He may do that. And he said, no, I'm gonna stick with USC. But only thing that it was when you see Patrick Mahomes and the Baker Mayfield autos guys playing well down the stretch who kept getting the credit for it cliff Kingsbury, right and his name started to grow in. Grow. And you know, the power of the social media in the power of the thumbs, George it just starts to get bigger and bigger and the one team that just bit was Aaron Jona. Right. And I think SE to you know, honestly, they just didn't know. And I'll give them that part this. They had no idea they had Ivan. I still don't have an idea of how he was hired as a head coach offensive coordinator. I can see that. But as the head coach. Yeah, it certainly strange out of those any question. But I think SE has a lot of problems potentially as you pointed out there taking on water if you look at the odds today in Vegas. They're eighty to one to win the championship. And then Clemson came to California yesterday what up on Alabama, which we haven't even gotten to yet..
