I did not see this coming in year two. From Anthony Edwards, I did not see him becoming a 30 point scorer in a playoff game. Where he's picking up John morant and playing awesome defense in doing everything. He's one of the most fun players in the league right now. He is truly one of the elite level building blocks in the NBA right now. He is on his way to surpassing Carl towns as the guy in Minnesota. Carl town is going to make all NBA this year. I think that it would be hard to say that Anthony Edwards is better than Carl towns right now. But this is year two. And it's coming. He is some ridiculous level shop maker. He is just that small improvement is a shooter away from being an all NBA player. And he's one of the most fun personalities in the league. There's nothing better than watching Anthony Edwards right now. For the Minnesota Timberwolves. And I've been high on the Timberwolves all year and it's been in part because of what Edwards showed early in the season growth wise, I thought. It's funny, Edwards kind of reminds me of Tatum coincidentally in his growth where both of them were these a mid range kings. In college and the knock on them was and I had Ann Lowe on my board. I think I had him at like four or 5. I just wasn't a believer. I just thought he was a glorified, like I thought it was going to be like a better version of JR Smith like a streaky super talented score who was just not going to be a reliable playmaker to run your franchise, which was extremely wrong. And but the team of comparison is that just like right away, he got to the league and he just kind of focused on doing a few of the things that he's not good at and he got better at those things right away. Yeah. And that's always like a huge sign for me. If somebody can just use their off season to join a new team and just add a couple skills that are good MBA roll skills right away that tells me that one, their malleable and they can improve too, they're willing to change their game to fit in and their ability to improve is so rapid that holy crap, their ceilings enormous if that's the case. And we're just seeing this year he's playing at a speed. There are guys in the NBA that have the physical tools to be able to get to the shot. And then there's guys that have the combination of the physical tools and the mental capacity and confidence and comfort and balance that they can just get to the spot when they want to. And we are just really seeing that where Anthos are really use he is like what like a 45 inch bird or something like that? Oh, unbelievable athlete. Unbelievable. He's mostly just kind of dancing his way through the way through everyone. What he uses more I think is his strength because what I said when he was in the draft, I had him at two or three. I can't remember..

"So would you take a flyer on Kevin Porter if he got released or traded? I would. I mean, sometimes the Lakers have taken on these guys who have had interesting pass. And sometimes it's worked out. We go way back in the day. You remember Isaiah JR writer? Yes. Remember that? Yeah, the Lakers brought him in. Dennis Rodman was a Laker at one point. Sometimes the Lakers take chance on these guys and sometimes it works. I mean, Dion waiters played some decent minutes for the Lakers. And you know, waiters island and all that kind of stuff. JR Smith came in. You've had some guys that have had some measure of success. Dwight, Howard, Dwight, Howard was seen as kind of a malcontent before he came to the Lake or somebody who would never accept being a role player. And he's been great at doing just that, just doing what the team needs him to do. So you never know, but I'd still be a little hesitant. I mean, it's kind of iffy because this is now the second situation where this because that's why he got traded from Cleveland. Yes, that's true. Yeah. So I mean, I liked K PJ coming out of the draft. So I'm a little biased here, but I think that would be fun to have the guy that played for USC back with the Lakers. But that's just good for you. But back to the question originally, yes, Christian wood was somehow available. I don't see why he would be. But if he was somehow available in the Lakers have a deal for him, assuming that the Jeremy grant trade that everyone and their mom is talking about doesn't go through, if you told me, well, we'll take THT from you guys and we'll give you Christian wood. He was a late first round pick, kind of a flyer. I didn't think this would turn into this where you're like, holy shit, when clay comes back, who's losing minutes, we can't take them from pool. So did you see this coming? I saw that he had the talent, right? Some of these guys. I mean, largely because of what the words needed. They don't have another guy who could, from the top of the key, make something happen. They just don't. It's very fun. That's their two creators. So you can see Jordan Poole. He's got some pando. He's got a nice little shot. It was deals terrible at first. His shot was terrible. He's done something at the shot that's decent. But now, there are some stretches where it's like, yo, they got another step. I didn't see that at all. Now, here goes some stretches where he's the complete opposite, right? He's the type, he'll chuck that 48 footer after he missed three in a row. It's like, wait a second, Jordan. That's what you do after you made three in a row. So he's got some JR Smith in them, right? But he can create off the dribble. He could get hot in the banner that Steph and clay can just not as efficiently. And he's a weapon. I don't think anybody saw this out of him. "Time people happy thirty six birthday. Smith jumped from high school to the pros so he had all his college eligibility left. He's using it today and t- and it looks like through social media. All of us will be along for the ride. We went to florida Last week or two weeks ago whenever this game was To stay at my in-laws just bought a condo and on santa bell island so we had this place to ourselves like overlooking the ocean. so beautiful while My wife had just gone to bed and We just gotten there. I think that day or the previous day and I'm pretty sure that there were two. There were three games that night and two of them were on either turner. Espn and was on mba tv. The nuggets blazers was on the nba tv. This condo did not have in dat. So i watched it on my phone and was just cackling canadian. I was laying down on a couch Just holding the phone up over my head at midnight or whenever it was just like hallucinating. Like maybe a drowned earlier in the day. And this was heaven. Me just watching damian lillard on my phone hit ridiculous shots like i. It was it was. It was like a spellbinding performance. that was i'll just i'll never forget that. Yeah no i was doing the same thing. I just laughing like an idiot watching the game because the shots were just like they were hilarious at a certain point like it made it at a certain point it just went beyond all reason like what he was doing and got progressively crazier and those are the of performances. I think that like belong on this list and my pin so hit us with your next one. Chris sure so. I think this would actually goes outside of what i just said. As far as like how ridiculous it was is. Just because i think this one actually has more potential be overlooked and others in a loss and series loss which i think is probably the more the bigger staying for him. lebron's game. Anthony davis maybe not pope as well. Do they win this game even though it's in la. I don't think venue madison in those playing time came. We don't know you know you could always go broke in this business wondering how severe an injury is but let me. Just say this about you guys. You know i've been propping up. Anthony davis i think people are dismissive of how brilliantly he played in the bubble bob. Now maybe he changes tonight but he says he's just a different player at home. And when you watch them you know just strong up these incredible shots in in in in game five and you think how how the hell are they gonna lose. They lose because he doesn't play like that all the time and so if he's not like that and chris. Paul isn't like that tonight. And lebron james. You know mike you said you can go broke betting on injuries. Trying to you can go. Broke trying to bet against lebron james to in a winner. Take all game and something tells me that you know. He'll he'll do something even if davis isn't there that this is not going to be a thirty point loss. You know if if they lose it will be you know in the fourth quarter at some point and i'm not sure the sons are ready for that yet. You know it's easy to win a thirty point game you just coast you just you just do straight on the team when you take that much of a lead at home you spend the rest of the of the second half just straight arming them and so you can't get close to me. But yeah, we've got all sorts of sorts of stuff going on and I've got some thoughts when we get into why you took such as this pains me to say we may not see a very active trade season. Don't say hey. Yeah. I know killer right? Mr. Wet blanket, but yeah, well we talked about em, but you want to get into the recent transactions first and then we'll talk to a recent transactions will get into that and you want to let me say this at least at least we've got some new Marvel stuff going on Thursday. So that was been their biggest problem. All season is those non Lebron ad minutes because he idea was. Okay. If you have a D- then Lebron can rest he can get. His breaking it as time off, and they'll still be fine. But before the restart when eighty was out of the Ron, he was minus three and five, hundred, six, hundred minutes as those are important minutes Lakers have to win in the restart I mean obviously is a very small sample size but who cares where we're doing podcasts in the restart their plus night. Eighties playing without Lebron. That's just a massive flip on their whole situation and to me watching those minutes was set out to me I think number one. Not Having region Rondo. Think we're seeing that right now like leading a d. plan space given him the ball he's got levels still the go to get into them right now. Yeah I. So the biggest thing off of that, which was great I just wonder if their margin for error is too thin right now obviously the Lakers have been incredible. So let's get that caveat out of the way I think probably favorite if not among the favorites for the title. They can be a little knuckle headed in their own various ways. He's had history with all four in various ways playing for or against them or with an or against them. And it's like he now has the equivalent of four JR Smith on his team. "Not sure you could unless it's a guy with a not a great contract and maybe a teams looking to start over so the cavs are up against it they're way over the cap so obviously you guys you got guys like kyle korver and jr smith and and and love and tristan thompson and jordan clarkson were all locked in it at fairly sizable amounts of money varying degrees philadelphia has got the good young team and lebron ben simmons have a real nice relationship but ben simmons is a guy who do handles the ball and that's what the bron does because their relationship you'd give that a possibility and it's a good young team that made a nice run in the playoffs and you add lebron they figure the chemistry out they probably go to the finals but is that going to work lebron and ben simmons played together and then of course houston has been mentioned often as a possibility as well but they would have to deal with some serious capital shoes and how you'd figure that out chris paul wants to max and lebron wouldn't go there and less chris paul stayed you know james harden chris paul and lebron james who all play with the ball in their hands that would be hard to figure out that would be an interesting dynamic i you know that's you talking about three great players but you you know there's only one ball and what's the rest of the team looked like if you have to clear all that cap space if is that even possible so certainly the lebron james free agency when he ops out of his contract because he has one he does have an option year left when he opts out is going to be the biggest story line in the nba kevin durant can opt out and by all accounts he said flat out he staying not that he couldn't change his mind because he hasn't put pen to paper he says he's staying and there are some other interesting players that will be free agents and they'll be trades off season as there always are but the lebron james story this off season 'cause that's make or break it's make or break for communities l lebron james playing cleveland is worth millions and millions of dollars to the to the businesses in downtown cleveland by the arena is this is that will lose a lot of money if lebron james leaves not that he owes.
