"He's got to be a decent player and add some value to any team throughout the league. So I'm not totally sure. I will look on him now. Now you got me intrigued, so I'm probably going to watch hours of video of him and trying to critique his game, but a lot of bad scenario Jacob and thanks for the question. Beth Lang, hi Beth, thank you very much for tuning in. She says need to sign pasta. Yeah, we do. But I don't, I don't think that's going to affect anything that does anything with trades if that's where you're trying to go. Possibly saying we can't make a trade if we can't sign somebody. Pasta neck is signed this year. So we technically we do not have to sign him until the off season, but there is that trade deadline that corner that the Boston Bruins seem to be getting pushed into. And no help to his agent, JP Barry, who is notorious for doing stuff like this and going right to the end. And even going past the trade deadline to the 11th hour, right before free agency to get deals done. So that's going to be a scary moment. Hopefully that does not happen in this situation. Talking about David pasta neck. I have heard some things coming across my desk that he did ask for a deadline of December 31st, 2022 to kind of wrap things up and get it going. Obviously we'll way past that deadline by a month and more. So that just seems like JP Barry is just kind of Sweeney and JP barrier talking. That's what the room is, which is good. It dialogs always good to have. It seems like from many reports out there that an 8 year deal, 11 million or 12 million is kind of cemented, but it might be just a fine details of how the money is going to be issued. Is it going to be is the contract going to be front loaded? Which obviously, you know, benefits the agent because if you're getting 20 million for the first two seasons, obviously 10% of 20 million is a nice little number for that agent where your final 6 7 and 8 years are probably like two or 3 million where it tails off. They're not so attractive to a to an agent. So the agent might be doing a lot more heavy lifting than past an act. I know past that kind of wants to stay away from the trade talks and focus on the task at hand. And that's going along with this group and trying to win a cop. And I'm going to go on the record. I'm not going to be sad to say this, but I think that if this continues, I think maybe David pas and that gets a little frustrated and maybe fires his agent JP Barry for possibly not getting it done deal done soon enough and moves on to an age that could act a little quicker and then get this behind them. Who knows? I mean, that's the speculation on my half. I don't have any inside information saying that that passed an act is going to fire his agent. JP Barry, but it has happened in the past. We've seen it.

"For journalism now, and that's one of those things that just bothers the hell out of me. Yeah, and it seemed like the Boston borough was that really don't give you much. You know, Don Sweeney's not out there floating anything to the beat writers or anything like that. Those guys are in the trenches trying to grind for information, just like I do. The once in a great while, I break some news. It's usually from a pretty damn good source. So, but it's not coming from the team because they're so tight lipped. They really are. I mean, chances are a guy like Elliott Friedman is just sending a text to JP Barry. So what's the latest? Well, I'm talking. We're still talking. Okay, cool. Let me put it in the podcast. I see a point in someone. I really do. But regardless of all that, I kind of think that a deal gets done right around the all star break. It's got to be, I don't want to really get any closer to much third. I think that's when, you know, I have a feeling it's going to get done, but when a more worried about is the panic that could happen in this fan base, the closer we get to the trade deadline. So I'd rather get something done for everybody sanity and everybody's stressed and so on, you know? Everybody lower the heart rate a little bit, you know? Yeah, exactly. Me too, you know? We'll have to run to CVS to check my freaking heart. It's unbelievable. So here's another one though. Please be safe at the All-Star Game. Pasta, no. No messing around. Don't be tweaking anything. Just go shoot hard, skate fast and then come home. Please, if you could. And of course, the All-Star Game, I don't know what it is, but I know it's down in Florida. So that would be nice for the guy to get out there and relax a little bit. All right, so we did have some, if there is anything that's bad to talk about, we did have some injuries, and we could start with Tomas nozick. Non displaced fracture in his foot would be reevaluated in about four weeks. I think this is a great opportunity for some of these young guys. I know they called up unico panin. Who is fine? I don't think he's really sort of the future.

"See what his deal is because we are going to talk some trade talk and I just, I'm so out on Bo horvat, but we will talk about all that a little later coming up. One thing we brought up last week, we probably talked about it too much because again, we both agreed that we don't care about it. But it is nice that posture knock did get selected to the All-Star Game. He'll be with Jim Montgomery, Lena Saul Mark. I'll tell you what. I know sometimes they get, I think I remember a couple of years ago, Tim Thomas was in the fastest skater contest at the All-Star Game. I don't want any of that from Lena's Omar. I don't want I want him to sit in one spot and stay there and not get hurt. I don't want to bump a bruise, a shot hit him in the wrong spot. I don't want any of that stuff. Get him out of fastest skater and hardest shot. I don't want him doing any of that nonsense. Just sit there, stop some pucks and then get the hell out of there as quick as you can. Just wave to the crowd, Lena. Really, seriously. But it's nice to see pasta and I get his due and, you know, again, I think that's just, it's good for the league. He's a supermarket guy. I think that's sort of a no brainer. Yeah, true ambassadors of the game as the game grows. And it gets younger and more creative as he is, you know, just good to have him here and hopefully he sticks around. I know that the contract negotiations are, you know, it's putting a toll on the bruins fan base because a lot of folks just don't understand why it's not happening. And a lot of the tweeters out there that sign them in, you know, a lot of that, I think is the fan base put in a lot of pressure on Don Sweeney to get it done, but like I've said in several podcasts, JP Barry is one that's notorious for just waiting and waiting to maximize the best interest in his client and obviously it's all in a percentage that the agent gets as well, you know? The more talk he's getting the more money is going to get.

"Are they close? Well, I'll tell you, Elliot freed me came out last night. I believe it was hockey night in Canada and mentioned something about that the conversation the conversations with past the neck and his agent and obviously the Boston Bruins organization have progressed and whether it's a good progression, a step back or whatever high talent I'm not knowing, but I do feel comfortable that this Boston bureau's organization is going to get a deal done. I don't believe it's going to be a deal that's going to be record breaking. McDavid money and so on. I think it's honestly, I think it's going to be in between 11 and 12 million. What are your thoughts on the pasta negotiations? How long it's kind of seemingly dragged, drag defeat from all aspects, not just the dawn Sweeney and bruins management because Boston Bruins fans love to hammer the fact is that they think that dawn Sweeney, he's dragging his feet here. When I know I don't know personally and so on, but I have a feeling JP Barry and his in his track record with other players going right up to the 11th hour of getting a deal done.

"I think there's enough games for him to do so. Especially if he keeps doing two goals each game, much like last night, yeah, I could see it happening. Absolutely. Yeah, we're not even at the 40 game mark. He's already at 54 points. Sorry. You know, we're halfway through the season. I could definitely see that happen. I mean, 60 might be a stretch, but who knows? But still, it's just everything is just coming together for this player right now. And, you know, hopefully he's happy. Because I do want to see him back here. I think the biggest thing right now is everybody wants to just have that comforting level of him signing an 8 year deal with $11 million. And that was reported by rich key, by the way, which was a little bit of a reach in my opinion. A radio guy in Boston, I'm not sure what his at a dying station that needs all the clicks they can get. Right. Right. And I'm not going to say I didn't do it, but I kind of went on board with him and said, you know, it kind of makes sense that they do this now because there was a report that I've got over my desk here at the blog and gold production studio that pasta Nat himself kind of put in a December 31st kind of deadline. Like, hey, I would like to have a deal done by now. And, you know, they continue to both sides, I'm not saying it's Don Sweeney and the organization dragging the feet. It's both sides. JP Barry, his agent, has been notorious for dragging his feet in contract negotiations. Several of his previous clients have even gone to June the last day of June before free agent started the next day to get a deal done. And I don't want to see it go that far because if David passed him back at that point, test free agency and another team comes in, we lose a player like that for absolutely nothing.

Great question. But his agent, like you touched on Gail. His agent, JP Barry, has notorious for waiting till the last minute to get things done. I am very confident that a past and that contract will get signed extension will get signed. I think it's going to look north of ten though. As much as I would love to have 8.88 that it's a pipe dream, but I'd love to see it. A team friendly deal at that number would allow the bruins to work with other free agents to complete a goal if this one doesn't succeed. If we don't win a cup this year, I think next year is your window to open it up, release the hounds, release a lot of funds and get what you need to do to actually make that happen, but yeah, I'm confident I'm not going to worry until the trade deadline is about a week away. "Actually could have lowered the market for wings? Like could this save the bruins a little bit of money potentially? I think it can in terms of the bruins and the fear of him going to market. That being said, let's say we get to the worst case scenario and we get to next summer and posture Mark hasn't signed an extension and wants to go to market. The rooms don't trade in by that point, which I have to imagine if they found out that he is going to market. I don't think they want him to walk for free. I still would not be surprised at all if pasta gets on the market and someone gives him ten and a half, 11, 11 and a half. You have to imagine. I think it is definitely a surprise in terms of as soon as they announced that goudreau was going to Columbus. I think I figured out who first broke it, but it was, you know, God drove pic Columbus. Okay, what's the contract? I think we were all imagining. All right, if he's not going to Calgary, and he wants to go somewhere else. It's not a place with hometown ties like Philly or the islanders or anywhere close by. Before I get into what, 12 million, 12 and a half. I think it was. That was what I thought. Yeah, I think so that was the most surprising thing is just what the payout was for him to go to Columbus. So I think it definitely helps in terms of maybe setting pots around value a little bit. But that being said, I think you look at it's so tough one to just predict this market too because going to this frequency. Do we think guys like good Branson were getting four and four for contracts? You've seen quite a bit this year, especially if people throwing a ton of money at defensemen or what have you. If it got like positive marks on the market and he's a guy that scores goals can give you 40 goals easily year in year out of his healthy is a really marketable player. Has that offensive flare? I think there'd be a lot of teams if they have caspase would be lining up to pay him double digits here. So definitely helps that let's say goudreau didn't set a new tier of let's say it's 12 and a half, 13 million, of course. And David money. Yeah, that'd be good in terms of it's not something that pots are not in his agents like JP Barry can look at and be like, all right, like you want to stay with Boston and they want you back. I'm just saying, you could probably get 9, 9 and a half from them, or just 13 million waiting out there. They don't have that actual barometer of that tear in front of them, which I think helps out the bruins, but it's all going to come down to I think the ball's been passed in terms of what he wants because if he wants to stay here, he is going to get paid. Resisting the temptation of what could be out there if he wanted to hit free agency in 2023.
