"Yeah. I mean now they've never mind I was going to make it really bad joke, Justin Jackson is your other loser. Dave super disappointed that he didn't get more than 10 touches. Joshua Kelly had 12-29 yards five catches for 24 yards Jackson head. He got off to a pretty good start catching the ball and then he kind of faded out of the of the game plan. Maybe it was because Jacksonville stayed competitive and the Chargers are just riding Herbert right now. So we're back to square one with chargers running backs long to trust. What about that Jackson? You think the knee may have played a factor? Maybe maybe the fact that he wasn't at home. Percent could be I can check the snaps on that too. I should just go back for the show. Let's go back to shark again. One one catch twenty six yards on seven targets across a wide receiver. Chark Steelers wide receiver multiple. Okay, fine. He's not going to get better if meant you gets benched. Steelers Chark or Jarvis Landry chart, okay, he's losers Cam Newton. I think he scored points today. I scored negative points for me and the league that I started him. Yeah bad there were some things and I don't think that we have no reason to believe this has anything to go has anything to do with it, but he was a lot better before he had to miss the week of action. Yeah. Yeah awful the last two weeks and off like there is some of it that's not him. His weapons are not weapons. I heal Harry gets none of the separation. Julian Edelman was apparently a robot constructed by Tom Brady Tom Brady took the instructions with him when he left because he does not look like a football player any longer. Oh James White caught one pass. Yeah, I I'm going to say this was all can only listen there was a very small window in the game where he was making some nice throws downfield. They were almost all going to Jacobi Myers for whatever reason but wage for most of this game cam seemed slowed to fire holding on the ball too long didn't run very much. I he just seemed really skittish and then when he did throw a pass were falling three yards in front of the intended target. He was sloppy. He was off Target. There was a throw to element that was behind him the helmet got one hand on tip the ball in the Air Boom interception some of the other dog. We're really ugly when you say it was holding onto the ball too long. Did you think there were open receivers? He should have been throwing to I'm not sure if there were not because I'm watching the TV copy. But if you ask me later or tomorrow, I'll be able to give you an answer on that. I'm I'm pretty sure at some point you could have found somebody closer to the line of scrimmage. Maybe the plays that were called were designed for him to throw downfield because it wasn't connecting those until after Harry got hurt and Jacoby Myers came in and then even then he was still making big mistakes and he got benched..

"Austin Klar moved to injured reserve after a injured hamstring last week. That's no good, obviously. Who stands to step in and see the based increase in production. Will. The biggest increase is probably going to Justin Jackson because Joshua Kelly was already seeing some touches in a rotation with Claire. He was kind of the next man up after eh color, but I will say I wouldn't be shocked if Justin Jackson actually becomes more productive over the next few weeks. Stash Will Kelly The product has had a fumble in consecutive weeks now, and that is never a good thing for a rookie running back. So I'd be a little bit concerned about just plugging Joshua Kelly into your lineup. If you're an Explorer owner. Just be aware that Justin Jackson is somebody who could be three biggest beneficiary right now. Andi, it does look better for them with Justin Herbert on your center. He's been pretty salad I during a very nice deep ball, giving the offense a little bit of life after the Tyrod Taylor fiasco, so I just wanted to mention Justin Jackson. If he's available in your league, he is worth a snag just to see how the situation place out. If you want to get in. We've got a couple lines open. So do so now because they get jammed before the show. No people like to call in at 8 45. Then I have no time left to get to you. So 3123323776 and also on which we're going through some of those as well. Tyler will be manning the chat room there. Let's try TJ in Morris, teach what's going on. One guy's morning. Okay? Pretty much same question their latent or a J green. I've got a pretty good lineup. Yeah, You know what? I think this one now at this point, where in week five. It's a pretty easy decision. I'm going Darius Leyton all the way A J. Green. It's concerning right now that he has been less than productive. He's you know, the target's He's saying he's He doesn't seem like the same player that he was now He's missed almost two full years of it, you know, with injury, so that could be there could be a revival. If we get you know if we have a chance to see Green kind of worked his way back, But I'm not counting counting on it right now at this age, and I believe he's 32 33. Maybe so at this point You know, we may be seeing the the You know, the sunset of a J. Greens, prolific fantasy numbers. I mean, he looked he saw he still may be picking on my roster. You listen at this point at this point, if you need it, it's really a case by case Situation T. J. But if you need the roster spot, I can certainly say moving on from a J. Green at this point. I'm not going to blame me. I don't I don't think you can vision You'll regret bad. Really Good. Once I let him go. Listen, thanks for the call. TJ. Appreciate it, as always. Everybody feels that way. You can always talk yourself into. And this is where that's a situation where you find yourself. Okay. How long do I hang with a J. Green? And at this point when I'm suggesting go ahead start Various Leighton over him. How many weeks until you're gonna feel confidence and starting a J green? You know you can if he has a big week. Sure you might put him in the next week. But I don't think you're going to be burned by releasing a J. Green this year. He might, he might have a little more production. Going forward, But the reality is, I don't think he's a superstar fantasy player anymore, and it's certainly easy enough for me to say, Go ahead and cut bait. If you if you need the roster spot, Let's try Dave, who's in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. What's up, Dave? Good morning, Jeff and I got a wide receiver. Question here. Need to start one DPR. Would you go with Will four or deejay more false? We've got pretty good matchups. This way. Yes, I got what the other quick they're here. I need a stream of defense six lately, like Houston or Dallas. Next week. They've Oh, this week this week. Okay, so first, let me tackle the wide receiver question. I actually think I personally would use Will fuller here for the home run potential. The big play. You know, he's always got that in his arsenal deejay more. Unfortunately. For anybody who drafted him there. They're well aware that Robbie Anderson has really become. You know if you want to pick a focal point in the passing game, Robbie Anderson has really stepped up and he leads the team and not just receptions but targets as well. And that is really hindered DeGeneres production It's a great matchup today, though you're right. They have the Falcons, so that does look very enticing. I personally though I'm going to use will fly, just like you know, I think he's the number one option for John Watson with the big place that he has as a possibility for him. I want to use him. And then you said you can use either Dallas or who Our use, and I'd pick up. I was thinkin about picking up Denver because I don't know if Buffalo's gonna play or not. That's my defense. Right now s o that one. You know, I know they've been They've been bad this year. But when when somebody gives me an option like that, for me, it almost always comes down to the quarterbacks and who's more. Turner, who's more turnover prone And in this case, you've got gardener Minshew in Jacksonville taking on the Texans, and you've got Daniel Jones heading to Dallas. And I would use Dallas. Believe it or not, because I think Daniel Jones is more likely to make multiple mistakes and put the Dallas D in position. Teo score potential touchdown for you and in fantasy football. Really? That's the biggest thing. It's it's generally not about which defense's are good. It's which ones are fortunate enough that can turn a turnover into a touchdown. That really could make your week so Again. That's kind of my always been my philosophy and generally works out. OK is pick on whatever bad quarterbacks are out there, and I certainly believe right now. Daniel Jones is a bad quarterback. Let's try Will Who's in Wilmette will? Good morning. You're on the fantasy football show. What's up? Good morning chefs. So my initial question involved Johnny Smith, but seems right. They will not play that game. Not a positive test. So, um, I will go with my other question. I have to see response. Happy PR O'Dell. Did you charge Tyler void? Or.

"Once he gets past and between the linebackers. And and he could be I mean all it takes is one play and and you could have your week made with Joshua Kelly to I mean like you should be the goal-line guy so you so I mean there's there's going to be opportunities for him to score on Monday night against New Orleans the bill in Pompano Beach Florida writes. Hello, Kentucky and Wisconsin long time listener first-time emailer. Would you guys drink the Higgins? Cool Aid or go with the grid that T Y Hilton Instead This Week Bill. Thank you for emailing. Thank you so much for listening this the we talked about this earlier. So the Bengals are in that negative game script against Baltimore as 12.5 Point dogs. And then you have to White Hilton who is going up against the pair. It's a matchup of 3 and one teams going against the Browns in Cleveland. The Colts are one point favorite song Pharrel. I think I am drinking the Hagens Kool-Aid. I just that that cold passing in just doesn't seem to be able to get on track so far this season, it should spend a little bit disjointed and Higgins is really true. Upward so I'm going to play Higgins over Hilton here. 16 Targets in the last two games you play Higgins over a lot of receivers in this league. You know, there's that number there's a magical number 85 for you again. There's something magic here with this guy just wash them line up. You know you Mike Evans is such an impressive physical athlete when he learns up. I see the same thing coming from Higgins. This is a player. It's going to be in the league for a long time man a question. I will this guy going to draft in 2021 when compared him to T. Y Hilton was the question. T Y Hilton suffering from the sidearm sadness of Philip Rivers. It just did just just just a great Pro Bowl player that has been refused to a a very last possession receiver. I think that whole I think that whole passing core in Indianapolis suffers from programming to live with Philip Rivers and T. Y Hilton is amazing talent and seals being taken away from us. That's what I feel about. You know, I think you're right and and it's unfortunate because he's he's going to be another year older and next year. What do you think the Colts do at quarterback in 2021 fair? I mean, it's probably not going to be Rivers is if she sat immediately. Oh, they're going to look really Maxine 4 Rivers 17 and.

"Only at 7 or sections on the season. You guys said offensive line. It's terrible and Burrows just not getting them to targets either. Yeah questionable play-calling cuz they're not even looking his way like you get a fifty times a game design couple plays for your thoughts running back to you just paid to that's what doesn't make sense is you paid Joe Mixon to be the guy. I'm not hesitant or I'm not too worried right now because this is the way it started last year too and it was what a top 5 Running Back start. Exact same way. Yeah, it's hooked a week 8 9 something like that for him to get going. You know, if you're owing three and for this point with Joe Mixon know I don't if you could afford to wait that long but definitely a Bi-Lo. Yeah, if you are someone that's contending and you think you can strike low and don't need him. This is your opportunity if you can get a wide receiver to for him do it. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he's a good buy-low candidate because of how babies doing but don't cross over pay because there is legitimate concern that offensive line is terrible. They do have a rookie quarterback, even though Borough looks legit, but he does get Jacksonville this week he needs to take advantage of this month because after this game he has to Baltimore in Indy. He legitimately might be in the RB for so like running backs 37 to 48 range after the first six weeks of the season. I don't think it's that low, but possible. I mean he's sitting at 39 right now. Yeah, it's definitely possible. He needs a big week to carry him through those next couple cuz the Baltimore is going to be rough. So we'll see what happens. But yeah dog Will mix in Bi-Lo if you can another running back that was absolutely terrible this week and it was my stud of the week that I was all in on was Joshua Kelly this one hurt because I thought had a lot of shares him. I was very confident in him and it wasn't even like he ran bad. He ran the ball fine eight carries 443 yards. He averaged 5.4 yards-per-carry, which is outstanding when he lost a fumble and then they went with the rest of the game after that. You can't do that when you were fighting for a position. Yeah, especially when you're an unproven rookie to cannot fumble the ball. Yeah, and he's a guy that's going to depend on those touches and the touchdowns and if you're only getting touches because of your fumble, you're not going to get it done Bud disappointing for sure..

"There's some really because of the injuries right? It always becomes the situation because the injuries there's some really good players that are out there that you may not have necessarily drafted that all of a sudden available maybe a Josh Kelley Joshua Kelly out with L, A a guy that saying a huge amount of snaps and touches last week against Kansas City. He had 23 carries for 64 yards. Also, a couple of catches in the passing ING for 49 hey, have touched down in week one against Cincinnati. That guy's role is not going anywhere offset. Where is the guy? Everybody drafted Austin heckler to be the guy, But Joshua Kelly is kind of the 12 punch guys. So hecklers getting the lead stuff. Joshua Kelly is getting kind of the grind out short yardage thing. Not getting his average is running back averages. 3.5 So 42.8 versus Kansas City. But if he's out there, and he's only I think he's like only Russian, like 60% of most leagues. If he's out there, go get him now, because whether it's an injury, caustically or not, he's valuable. I was lucky enough to get a tip on on him and actually rostered him about everywhere in right before week one. I just put him on the bench, and I'm like, all right, we'll let this one marinade for a minute and he's come out like gangbusters kind of saved me. We've given the fact that Some of my running backs have been dinged up by that first overall pick in our league took McCaffrey and so now I gotta put Kelly in there, So I'm hoping he has a big day. Yeah, very guy. And again. He's got a great matchup today against Carolina. So he's He's a guy that's definitely flex worthy. I wouldn't go as far to say R B two. But he's definitely flex worthy. I'd throw him in there. It kind of just, you know, he's always with these situations. And it does depend on what you have on your team. Like I got a question this morning about, you know, Derrick Henry versus Jonathan Taylor and I'm like, Oh, man, Can you both like somehow? Yeah, unfortunately, not. Hey. The guy had such a stacked roster. He was actually initially asking me between listen to this, and I always love the humble brag the humble brag of how good my team is, but I'll allow you to team leader allow it because he has a decay. Metcalf, Omari Cooper, Tyree Kill and, Ah! Jonathan Taylor yesterday need three of those just ridiculous and I'm like that's not right as well. In this case, I'm gonna lean towards implied total imply Total of the decay. Metcalf, Seattle versus Dallas, Amari Cooper and you got you know again, cowboys in there and then and I course you're going to want Tyree kill in that chief's ravensgame. I mean, look, the Ravens have a good defense, but they're going to find ways to scheme him open. I was like, man. I hate to do this. So usually wanna have you know that in those scenarios and would love to have Jonathan Taylor in there because again What the game script is going to be. The Colts are going to be able to run the ball late in that game as they're basically salting it away. Jonathan Taylor is the dude. But in that case I went with three wide receivers because basically all kind of like top 10 plays this week. Yeah, You really can't go wrong there. No, I don't. I don't think so. And yeah, so I ended up being one of the questions. I have a couple questions here on the text line before we get to D F s stuff. I want to get some daily fantasy. Help for you get you guys set and going, cause we got a little over half an hour till we have kick off. Ah, half point PPR picked to Emmanuel Sanders, John Brown or knew Kiel. Harry. This was pretty easy for me. Then I go to kill Harry in John Brown. John Brown is ah has been a fixture. He's already got two touchdowns a touchdown in each game. Start the season Kill Harry's getting peppered with targets Cam Dude really likes throwing into Kill Harry and Julian Edelman. Those were kind of his top two guys. I think the hell Harry is another one of those guys for last minute waiver wire pickups if he somehow is still floating out there, remember, he's a former first round pick, and the Patriots are going to want to get some return on that. Sona Kill Harry. I think American standards just wasn't part of the offense against the Raiders. There were some questions last year about his knee and the ability to hold up throughout an entire game. A xgames war on sofa manual doesn't get involved early. You probably wouldn't expect you to much from him. Yeah, it really was on expected in just to step into the Michael Thomas. Roly didn't do that. I think that created more validation that Michael Thomas is a big part of what that offense does. I don't I don't get picture. Emmanuel Sanders, this point being the dummy route guy, But, ah, you know, it's so tough, Tio. It's so tough to count on him at this point after looking at what looks like a tasty matchup and not doing anything, yeah, and so it was really trick one Smith into being the beneficiary guy really liked, but I do like him, but he's not. Michael Thompson at all. No. And then they've got what's the other guy? Deante Harris, I think is probably in for a big game this week as well. They're in New Orleans. You might be the sleepy sleeper guy. So you agree, John Brown to kill Harry is probably your top two. John Brown, for sure. Yeah. Kill Harry. I think I would given the option. That's the direction I go. OK. Another question. Here. Gala Day or handler. Look at this point. I'm probably going Kenny Golladay. They really were careful with him out there in Detroit. Hey, probably. I mean, I think I've heard that he could have potentially played last week. But they decide what to just even another week of rest. And that game imply total as we mentioned between Detroit in Arizona supposed be a lot of scoring, I think killing Kenny Golladay gets into the end zone. I'd rather go there. Now that I'm down in the am, or I think Hamlet is gonna have a could have a nice day. But if you're taking like a higher floor And also again what the implied total of the team. I think I'd rather have players from that team in that game. If I if I have a question between two receivers look at two things, one who's the opponent where they're playing to? Which one whose quarterback back after or you really mean like Arizona Advanced Joseph Defense versus the Todd Bowles, Tampa defense and then you got mad Stafford versus Jeff Driscoll is a no brainer for me. Take any algae. That's and you know, I don't like I like hammers a sneaky play. Don't get me wrong, right? I just the galleries, the safe. Play for daily fantasy. We we can get into chopping this up in one of multiple lineups, you know, Put handler to gamble lineup? Sure, sure, but in this, and I'm not always the starter, Studs guy. In this case, though, I would almost say Look, you drafted Kenny Golladay to be if not your wide receiver one then at least through high end wide receiver, too, right? You're probably wrong with him, and especially on a day with Julio Jones out again. If you missed that, and you're just now listening to us, and you haven't gotten online Julio Jones out today. It's a massive change for a lot of teams because you know again, you pride drafted him in the first or second round Looking at Benjamin. All right over here, and boy, you're a tough way in one of your lives because you have Julio Jones and Avante Adams. Yeah, and McCaffrey call three. So that's somehow I got all three thinking I'd come out swinging, you know, in my league and on my top three picks are all Looks like there are other toast for the week. That's brutal. Okay, so let's get into some daily fantasy, and we'll have some time to talk about some more of this on the other side of the best stacks today, the ones that you're going to probably see the most of. So these of the cash game ones, the ones that you're going to want to lean on. As you mentioned Wilson and Prescott. You know me. I think you can. You can stack either of those guys. They got really high floors, pretty decent ceilings as well. Russell Wilson's been off to a terror. I think that that Prescott will have some potential garbage time like he did against Atlanta. I like both those guys in stacks. I think Cuyler Murray, based on the Detroit game is going to be really popular one and then Cam Newton versus Vegas. Out there in the New England because the thing is is he's getting all these goal line Russians. He's got four rushing touchdown so far, so his four is pretty high, and he comes in a 67 173 100 for Russ. So again, not a massive difference, but for $600, you know what else could you get? I think if you were going a little bit lower, I think we could talk about Matt Stafford..

The top waiver-wire pickups for Week 3 of fantasy football

"Tap waiver wire picked for me this week. Is going to be 40 Niners runningback Jerick. McKinnon makes sense. McKinnon is available currently in 73% of ESPN League, so widely available and with the most injury, coupled With Kevin Coleman also being gone for a couple of weeks. This seems like an opportunity for the big free agent signing for Kyle Shanahan Step up and have Ah productive week and at least for a couple of weeks. I think he's the at least for this week. I think he's definitely the best ad long term. Maybe not because most it will return. So if you're just looking for help for this week, maybe a couple of weeks. Jerick. McKinnon is your best bet this week on the planet Jets, other playing A. Who cares? The Giants there. Still, I stayed in New York and you look the Giants Steelers. The Bears have run the ball on the Giants, and they stayed in New York. They're playing the Giants, so I would think that that's they're going to try to ground and pound. This is saline advice is always from the update and grapple is positive, right? Like they think he's gonna play? Yes, Okay again, though, it's it's obviously Tuesday, so it's hard to say anything definitively. But my cannon is the top waiver wire pick up, especially If you're hurting at running back, and if you have sake one if he had most, sir, if you had McCaffrey, and now you're starting to Sergio. Look, Yorgos got to start Jamal Williams from crying out. I got Jamal waves in my story. You might be hitting your waiver wire to pick up Jack Kennedy on the can, For sure, he's gone in one of my All right. Who else? Hide Let me fire Rams running back. Donald Henderson was highly drafted. You have Malcolm Brown, who left last week's game with a finger injury, along with Who's the other Ocampa and left with a rib injury as well. So Darnell Henderson stepped in. I think I believe you had 80 total yards from scrimmage. So Donald Henderson is my second ad. He is available in 54% of leagues. 50 44. That's good Darnell game this week. Rams and Bill's about it to Owen omits to know that those of a good man, that's an exciting game. This's now I'll give you a couple of guys right here. One's more of a long term play. The other is going to be a better bet. Immediately, but probably not for the long term. Joshua Kelly, Los Angeles Chargers, he is it looks like he has stepped right into the Melvin Gordon roll from last season. Austin Heckler obviously, is the main running back that you want with the Chargers. Things were better. With Justin Herbert under center. It's undeniable. Tyrod Taylor comes back. I'm I'm not nearly as enthused, but I have a hard time believing Anthony Lynn is just going to give the ball back to Tyrod Taylor. If Justin Herbert continues to be productive, why

"Being more competitive in gays because you saw one target for James Robertson. I I'm in. If you WANNA drop Chris Thompson I, totally get it. He was not on the field at all but this was a neutral to positive game script for the Jacksonville Jaguars to get point if we don't know what's going to happen once that script goes upside down will James Robinson Be The one who gets the targets meanwhile to me Naim hines was clearly already a part of the offensive plan for Indianapolis Colts. You got on the field before Jonathan Taylor he was getting goal line carries the the the question of does Philip rivers throw to his just was running backs because of the scheme he was in with the chargers or is that WHO Philip rivers is as a quarterback. Philip rivers as a quarterback. It's an interesting question Mike, and a good point. But the same exact argument made for James Robinson can be we can look at the name Hind situation to where this game was more competitive than we thought it was. Nine hines is probably not on the field in in non neutral to You know when they're down in a game win Mount Mount Marla Mac out hindsight three carries. Jonathan Taylor had ten. Yes. Yeah Taylor's one the first the second down guy absolutely for sure. But I think Heinz will be I. Mean This is Just. The Boston Light. Yeah. And now would you add Malcolm Brown over either those players I would personally not I think he would be third on my list. I'm not saying I had any snow at him I don't. So. Here's thing. I don't want. The is the attic don't want I. Mean I been Snell I will make a you know a roster claim for him because the you know the avenue for points I, it could happen but he's not going to be my highest priority because I don't want the headache of. James Connors active this week. Oh, he got injured again amid game Snell scored should I starts now this next week I don't know if I should start him because James Connors active I didn't start him and he scored points now. I'm GonNa Start Him. Oh now it wasn't the started I just don't want to. I. Don't want that life and I'm sorry Andy that I know you're going to have it. Now. Five eight to say. I think you will have clarity though week to Benny still is he is a must add in all league formats. He should be on somebody's bench. You're not playing him in week two unless you get a full Mike Tomlin go ahead later on in the week that says, we've made the move any snow we'll be starting running back I. Don't think that's going to come how thin is the ice name's connor from production. Exactly, of. You putting on, you're putting them on your bench waiting because week to if benny smell is the starting running back for week two. I think you have your answer. That's fair. The steelers defense is so good. That nineteen twenty attempts for the starting running back is going to become routine thou they did have some major injuries that we should at least bring up the Pittsburgh steelers on the offensive line. The right tackle the backup guard who was playing in for 'cause Decastro was hurt. So they did take some some bumps there in that has an effect on the running game. Joshua Kelly Joshua Kelly twelve carries for sixty yards. He got all the goal line carries in Los Angeles. He looked good. Joshua Kelly is a must add to me. Yeah. I agree with that. But Malcolm Brown record, where is he and Ian Your? Order of these guys while he's he's the player you can go start next week maybe I mean the match ups for the next two weeks, the Eagles and the bills are very difficult which is. Probably. My biggest concern concern is the fact that I don't know if I can start him and then I know that they're going I still believe they will make a transition camakers at some point You know obviously, Malcolm Brown looked to be the best running back week once. So maybe he just keeps the job the whole season I don't I I still don't project that he just looked. The gap was large in week one between the two of them agreed and McVeigh's been. So pronounced in his committee backfield approach that I don't think he has an agenda, I don't think I. Don't think mcvay has an agenda of one running back. No I agree, which is all the more reason to to doubt. Malcolm, Brown as being takeover you said camakers would take over take over the leading role in that timeshare right now allow Brown. No I think Malcolm Round will probably stick with the goal but remember he had two touchdowns week one last year. Gurley was still on the team much different team for me Malcolm? Brown would be. Also had three catches and eighteen carries Malcolm Brown would either be second. He's tied with James Robinson for me. Hines is one for you. Yes. I would put benny smell ahead of Josh just to wait and now would you if connors healthy that say you because this is an interesting way to look at it. Fantasy football 2020: Your draft kit for the upcoming season

"Okay. So we've got up to ten draft tips for you. Get. One Draft. At least two software why don't you Sunday? You still. People's draft status draft number one that is so bad. Let's let me get like the trending players that are either moving up or moving down for you right now last week we talked Damien Harrison Bryce love There are any other players right now that you WANNA spotlight don't don't look at ADP it's outdated these guys are higher or lower. Well I'll start with Bryce love because there's report from a guy that I trust it works for the Athletes Ben Stanbic he's played in some fancy leagues with me before he's. A season fantasy player. He says that it's not a lock that Bryce love will be on the active roster every week if they only carry three running backs because they'll go with Peterson, the goal Gibson in the goes jd mckissick over Bryce love, which is a little bit surprised to read that. So he's probably somebody that has to be trending down One guy that I'm very excited about I've said this time and time again but the reporters continue to glowing is Joshua Kelly you know he's the guy that I don't want to say that I plant my flag with him but he's somebody that I'm going to have a Lotta shares off I. Already have a lot of shares of him loud drafts coming up over the next two weeks and anybody that asked me, who's the sleeper guy that you are highly recommending this is the one because I do think he's going to be the backup to US nickel or the second guy to us neck ler and. He may not have the job over Justin. Jackson now he will have the dob over Justin Jackson by the end of the season. This is the guy that I want on all of my fantasy teams. So would you take Josh Kelley ahead of Bryce love I haven't okay. Would you take Josh Kelley head of Chase Edmunds. See. So that's the the interesting part of it. That's where you have to play the draft. So as the hype continues, maybe you have to take Josh Kelley headed Jason's I haven't had to do that yet. So if it comes down to those are the only two running backs available. Then, I'll probably take Josh Kelley over Jason, but you know if chase Edmunds becomes the guy for the Arizona. Backfield, he's probably going to be better than Josh Kelley unless neck alerts.

"I talked about this earlier before we started recording but I mentioned how a lot of the big name analysts really did nail player that is Kenneth Murray. And that's The pros the positives are the athleticism explosiveness silent summit range But his negatives are real. It's the over aggression that can lead to miss tackles. It is lowering his head inside. Contact in an losing ball carriers. It is Not being the most instinctual in coverage and y the Pixel polarizing is that you look at what he can do in his positives. And you're like wow like that's someone that the chargers needed we gotta take a step back and realize what is kind of the move in the NFL right now. It's linebackers that can cover just as well as they can. Stop the run right And because the past Happy League you know this is the Division that has Patrick. Mahomes in the chiefs in it. It's also division. Where the Raiders? In the broncos added a lot of speed and athleticism at the wide spots and to combat. What the broncos raiders in the chiefs are Right. Now he would have thought. The chargers may have grabbed a better linebacker in coverage something like that. Like just like a pure one on one defense towards those types of players that the rest of the division drafted this past weekend But like Kenneth Murray is the the athlete is exactly what you want right. It's the speed is the Strang that's everything can keep up with tight. End Zinke both running backs. But it's just those little minor things that Kinda lose you on him. You just can't like because the chargers just witnessed a lot of missed tackles some miscues on defense almost to the point where it was. Obviously you WANNA run your head through the door. It's why they wanted. Thomas Davis out. It's why people are confused as to. Why Anthony Lynn loves race? Sean Jenkins so much calls league. Because there's just these things that happen that you just wouldn't expect from a starting caliber player in the NFL. And Unfortunately Murray has those things throughout his tape just as much as the good. He has the bet. I don't know the coaching at Oklahoma. I don't know if he was told to do certain things that when you don't have the context may look weird some watching the film with him firing through gaps and tucking his head and watching the running back. Run right by him whether it's when he does that. The offensive lineman uses as momentum against him and just makes them a non factor right. It's he has the opportunity and the ability to be so disruptive but it's like he just missing these minor details to finish these disruptive plays and again hopefully the coaching staff and everyone figures out how to get the most out of him because if anything I think he plays. That will spot. I don't think he can handle contact right away One of the plays that comes to mind is accu- draw versus Baylor in their big twelve championship game. Where Michael Hasty was the lead blocker for Charlie Brewer and Michael? Hasty like hit Murray and it wasn't like a crazy hit or anything but Murray Kinda like stopped in like paused enough that brewer. Ram By him and it was just weird. Because you're like Jemima. He's not that big and didn't look like he tried hard with that. Hit and at the same time. Murray look like tried hard trying to to shock the lead blocker shake him off and then try to make this play. It was just kind of weird and as many times as Kennedy makes Kenneth Murray makes these plays where. He's just incredible blows. Your mind is why people love him. He has some place that kind of leave you wanting more and that's all. I'm going to say on that because we can go back and forth about Kenneth Murray Heck of a player heck of a guy has what it takes to be really successful at the NFL if just molded in tightened correctly and I hope this coach staff is able to do this. Move onto fourth round. Pick obviously do not have a third due to the trade to get Murray. The chargers drafted running back Joshua Kelly out of UCLA hometown kid. We kinda felt the chargers. We're going to get a big running back. Write a short yardage goal. Line tight back to really help with the efficiency of the rushing in the end zone He is kind of that type of guy but he can also do a lot more things than so. I think it's wrong to pigeonhole him into. He's a big back change of pace type player. So you have some thoughts on Joshua Kelly. So why don't you go ahead and give me those? Yeah so when I put together my draft guide and after going through my evaluations Joshua Kelly finished with my seventy fifth ranked player on my top one hundred big board game third round grade and what. I have to say about him. Was Kelly. Possesses quickness burst lateral gylfi contact balance along with passing game ability to make defenders spectrum however he lacks breakaway speed and neither fireman pass protection and I've projected him as an. Nfl started by Youtube. So we have a lot of fans that are really upset with this. You know we've heard them say like all you know it's bad evalu- they have taken him fifth round even seventh round. Well I can guarantee you that Josh Kelly was not going to be there In rounds five six and seven. That's why the charges took him now. People are wondering okay. Why are we taking running back this early? Obviously with Melvin Gordon Gone. We still have a snack and Justin Jackson can make up. The backfield absolutely could have picked someone up later on the draft or you know. Udf absolutely but they saw Joshua Kelly Hughes in their backyard. They saw him play. They knew what he could do. They saw the production in just forty. Three Games now rushing six hundred forty seven times for three thousand four hundred. Forty two yards thirty one touchdowns and just seeing him due out the senior bowl. They feel like they have something in this guy. Nowadays people are being knocked for taking a running back in the first round. Let let alone round two. And they're waiting until the mid routes if the chargers are passing up on offensive Lineman wide receivers you know. And they never quarterbacks in the fourth round when they have these wholesale film take running back. They cruelly see potential in this guy. Everyone's viewing Rosa power. Back he's GonNa see five percents snaps. I feel like they think they have something with this guy with Joshua Kelly. I feel like they can be the feature back having any down potential. And that's why like even though this is questionable people are wondering like aw running back in the fourth row. We have taken tackle sure. I was pretty upset mainly just because Ben Bartsch and if you know me on the biggest band Bartsch fan he was still on the Board. He went four picks later to the Jaguars and I really thought watching the charges pick that they were going to take bend March and kind of going a little off topic to. Let's go did happen to stay. There wasn't offensive lineman billable one of their picks. They decided to go a different direction. I still believe that's been bartsch but I don't WanNa get too much into that. I want to go back to Joshua Kelly. You know he's not going to break away in the Open Field. He some speed. He's he's not quick fast he's quick. That's the best way to describe him but you know he takes care of the football. That's one thing with Melvin Gordon. He put the ball on the ground. Too much for our liking. Just Joshua Kelly The definition of a well rounded back and I feel like he can produce and be effective at the next level. And that's why you know if they WANNA keep us necker in the role that they do lining up in lining him up in the slot lining him out why they need a feature back. Now with Justin Jackson. People will say well. Isn't he the feature back? I don't we don't know. Justin Jackson didn't play that much last year because of an injury and usually when they take player that high. They see its production. They see what he's capable of doing. There could be something lies little bit deeper with this injury that just Jackson had which makes me believe that Joshua Kelly could either guy he could replace Melvin Gordon as that feature back and I wouldn't be surprised if he is that you know as early as his rookie. Season sure degraded short yardage situations. Put Him in the fourth quarter and just let them eat up clock pickup yards. But he's more than that and I did see that at the senior bowl so like I mentioned. He needs to work on half protection. I saw him stymie defenders and I was like Oh shoot. This is something. He did not do well in in college but he just showed that he is a well rounded back when he does all three phases of the position. Really really well and I think like I've been saying here is that he could become the feature back for the chargers and lease. Buy Your too. I I think I have to agree. I warmed up to pick a lot. A lot of people. Were down to pick because why they were offensive tackles that I mean multiple offense tackles. That would have been just fine taken at the top before. The chargers went with Josh Kelley. And a lot of you probably said the same thing which was if it was just even like around later. Ri- really enjoyed it but If we're correct than he was a valuable piece that someone probably would've snagged a four five six the seventh round I think that Josh Kelley does have a pretty good path to some form of contrbuting or contributing. Excuse me this year Justin Jackson. I think the pick was due to Jackson's lack of consistent health In his first two seasons Justin Jackson has been really good when he's on the field in healthy unfortunately like things have happened and he's missed quite a lot of time in for a former seventh round. Pick your your leash is a lot short right And so I agree with you. I think that Kelly's has a pretty good path to working in and getting a majority of those snaps in terms of the complementary role to Austin and when you kind of go around the NFL and keeping in mind that Anthony. Lynn wants to run the football. He wants to run well and more than he did. The last couple seasons that he's had Philip rivers. You look at the teams that do a good job running the football teams like the ravens come to mind the the vikings come to mind the Patriots. You know weren't the most rushing heavy team but they have a stable running backs that were all trustworthy right even the chiefs. You throw the ball a ton besides Damian Williams you have. I think it's Durell Williams the former lsu running back and they've got guys when Damian's out they can step in and those.

"Which is fine it was a bad defense wants but my god give one of the greatest quarterback he's ever seen lace it up some weapons to throw to have some fun out there so <hes> you know i you know we'll see what the packers akerson like buffalo and the jets too. I think both of those teams especially that's could be. I'm significantly improved and i and i it wouldn't surprise me me if new england wins the division but with a lesser record this year because i think the division might be not miami but i think buffalo. The jets are both better teams than they've been <hes> in recent years all right. Let's get this weekend. Tell me who you like college and then who you like in the n._f._l. I've already done my smell test all right <hes> yeah. I'm curious. Ah i'll listen to the podcast later to hear your smell test but usually you and i are pretty lockstep with some smell test picks. I love u._c._l._a. This weekend laying seven and a half half against san diego state <hes>. I think the world saw u._c._l._a. On a big stage just put out a big turn in touch punchbowl <hes>. They were missing a lot of players. There's their mission joshua kelly <hes> during robinson durand thompson robinson was awful had two drops in the red zone still that team kevin was a scoop and score from getting push at cincinnati a team that very well could win the a c so <hes> san diego state beat weaver state <hes> last weekend six to nothing so i like u._c._l._a. Thing college football is like you can get any kind of game in college football the n._f._l. Games all pretty much look the same. They're exciting. Don't get me wrong but you can get seventy to fifty six and then you turn it on and it's you know thirteen ten in late in the fourth quarter couple other games and this is one of those games. I'm just curious and i i. I bought a future on this team just because i think it's about time they win. Their conference. Pittsburgh has an eleven a._m. Kick kevin at home against ohio from the mac. This line has dropped to five. Ohio's got a very good quarterback nathan rourke you know their coaches. It's still frank. Soul-searching soul and ohio's was a good football team pen for bad last week against u._v._a..

"Because of the overreaction a week one that's dangerous territory which brings us to our next game and you and i kind of independently have stars align here is u._c._l._a. and both of us are big on the bruins here aaron this lines climbing up whether it'd be the juice in some places as off seven up to seven and a half hosting san diego state and actually i didn't think u._c._l._a. Looked that bad and in in fact the scoop and score that was blown dead by the referee's whistle really would've changed things with cincinnati but i like the bruins here against the diego state which really looks pretty feeble considered winning six nothing over weaver state question that san diego state has it has a lot of problems offensively wanna washington last week <hes> carried twenty two times for fifty five yards and ryan agnew pass for just barely more than a hundred yards and even going back to last season rocky long had a just a disastrous and two thousand eighteen. The aspects failed to cover the final four lost outright as a twenty four point favorites. You know be lost. Outright is seventeen point to hawaii gets shut out twenty seven nothing in the bowl game by ohio so these problems of san diego state back to the end of two thousand eighteen rocky lucky longtime a lotta good teams the saddest teams not one of them and i think you know here's the thing we're gonna talk about overreactions and we'll do it after we one <hes> the n._f._l. To <hes> i forget what was the early two thousands another patriots gets shut out by the bills in week one thirty five nothing and then ended up appointed super bowl that year. You know a lot of people overreact what you see in the first game u._c._l._a. Has nineteen starters back. It seems going to be okay. They were really up in the first game. Aiman joshua kelly did not play. He's <hes> crucial to that office if you recall at the last year against u._s._c. when he ran for two hundred eighty eighty nine yards <hes> that was a different u._c._l._a. Off as from jackson kelly running the ball like that dorian thomson robinson was hyped <hes> a quarterback out of vegas. He's a sophomore. He can't play any worse than he did. Against cincinnati eight for twenty six at one big pass pass play in a game. That's the seventy five zero t passer matt. He did almost nothing the offense through two picks drop the ball twice. I mean i don't think it could be. I don't think you'll play worse game than that in this career and u._c._l._a. Still hung in there on the road of good cincinnati defense shocked web. I think bruins defense looks much better than a year ago when they allowed was four hundred and forty five yards a game so the run defense is better <hes> obviously san indiana state has all sorts of problems right now moving the football. I saw this and phil steele's book not that means much to this particular matchup but <hes> <hes> u._c._l._a. Fifteen zero all time against san diego state with an average margin of victory at twenty four points. I chip kelly gets his team to rebound down in a big way this week and u._c._l._a. Ones this game by double digits. I think they're actually go to this game. It's rose bowl <hes> saturday afternoon. I wanna see both these teams. Uh up close because you still coming into the season was going to be one of my surprised teams. Nobody really picking <hes> the bruins do better have been <hes> what six and six this season for most part. I thought they had a chance to be a lot better. I was discouraged by what week one chip kelly would have <hes> more. We're up his sleeve but at the same time without jesuits heli on the field. I don't think it's really fair to bash the bruins for that initial loss at cincinnati which is really really good team by the way <hes> so is joshua kelly gonna play this week..

"The last five years so i think i would expect them to have another great year <hes> yeah and they're they're toughest games obviously at washington which they always struggle again at u._s._c. in arizona those toughest games but at u._s._c. at arizona very one game so we saw than a polychaete members mentioned like utah's very underrated team. Maybe the most underrated rated power five conference team until your bed them and then they'll lose. It's like oh my god what they never. They never get a lotta love. I feel like this year is the first year everybody's kind of all over them with all these guys returning because that line was originally eight and a half nine. That's jumped up to nine and a half so that's why i think i'd prefer not much change agent price. I'd prefer them to win the south right. That's good well. I'm going these local. Teams stink u._c._l._a. Going on there six and a half people have high hopes as team they have the three wins last year other under under six and a half minus twenty chip kelly is expected to double their win total and then some they have nine in returning starters on offense who all stunk last year eleventh in the conference. They have <hes> joshua kelly already at twelve touchdowns last year running back. It's gonna be good theo our it'll be good. They have new offense coordinator and justin fry. I don't know this quarterback knows a freshman last year. During thompson roms young seven touchdowns foreign exceptions eleventh inefficiency eleven returning starters on defense also terrible allowed thirty plus in every game except for two or three. I think they're at n._c. Verse san diego state and home for oklahoma to start. I see that one and two they end at utah at u._s._c. versus cal. I think they're four ornate or five and seven we say goodbye to chip. Kelly tae dues more annoying u._c._l._a. U._s._c. fans u._s._c. probably right private school. Kids are probably early morning they are. They will say that they have to be. I'm not just because mcminn guy but it just it once they get gone. Thank god they haven't been good for a little bit. Let's let's pick a winner. Real quick is the odds on favorites to make the playoffs is an alabama clemson georgia and michigan which is weird because ohio state eight is favored to win more games and to win their conference but if you go i don't know maybe it's just the site i'm looking at the michigan is favored to make the playoff over ohio ohio state brother bry parlay kid and i all like alabama at plus two forty. I'm gonna say this is a you guys go into more for details. Ten or eleven years sabin failed to win the title six times for those times. He came back with a ring. I just think there's too much offense. They always play defense the to throw to jerry judy devante smith june wal waddell henry..

"To the audible, I'm Bruce Feldman. Joined as always by Stewart Mandel it is thanksgiving weekend. Which means we just came off that we can where the SEC really doesn't play a lot of good teams. But we've also had a lot of coaching news happen. We will get to that in a minute, Stu. What do you think is going on in Los Angeles right now? I thought I thought for sure that that crappy slated games would would result in a whole lot of craziness and really the craziness peaked at about overtime of the Maryland Ohio State game though, you did have an upset on your hands there in the in the USC UCLA game. So. Actually. The craziness peaked. I I watched back the citadel Alabama game. So there was a brief brief moment in the third quarter. The citadel takes a thirteen to ten lead. They're tied at ten at halftime. Alabama fumbles the gets. This fumble a kick off. It's like basically helmet on football. Said it all gets the ball. Sit all makes a field. But then the the field goal gets taken off the board because there's a procedure penalty. And then they missed the forty five year old field goal. Then then it's all downhill, I can't imagine. How how bizarre that must have looked everybody. If they were watching a real time with a four and five FCS team beating the mighty crimson tide. Well, I think you knew eventually we'd get out of hand. But it's true. They had a chance to become the first team all season to lead Alabama in the second half. And you know, at that just speaks to Bruce the power of the triple option. Yes. We'll see you save it that's gonna call up again later, but Nick Sabin. And these interview at halftime noted that the Senate L was shortening the game. They were they were taking away possessions from Alabama by running the triple option, which is why more schools should do it. But I digress. Yes. So chip Kelly has got to be the hottest three and eight coach in America right now three and eight or the Bruins. But he just knocked off his rival and. And now, he's the one that's that's storming into town and has a program heading in the right direction and clay Helton is five and six probably about five and seven hosting Notre Dame this week. You wanna just put in a requisite? Disclaimer that we recording this on Monday morning. Just in case. Maybe something comes down from from USC later before you hear this podcast. But nevertheless, tell us about the game you're there. Yeah. Well, you know, what it was one of those things where my colleague Joe Davis said you can throw out the records in a rivalry game. And obviously that's selling it a little bit. But he's right. I mean, it was a it's always a cool atmosphere where you have, you know, those traditional uniforms. It's not it's blue and cardinal. The Rose Bowl is gorgeous a place places. Any and it was chip Kelly. I first time in this rivalry. You know, the thing that jumped out to me this happened in my column on the athletes that went up Sunday night kinda hits on the state of college football in Los Angeles where you're right. I mean, this is a really interesting UCLA team in that there are three and eight they only have one senior starter on both sides of the ball. And the way they ran it down US's throat felt very familiar. These back to the chip Kelly days now there he didn't have the speed of alum Eichel James or even Kenyan Barner hit Joshua Kelly. Joshua Kelly who had only one FCS offer outta high school grew up a huge UCLA fan went to UC Davis where he was basically an average running back decided to transfer got to his his dream school and against this team loaded with five star guys. He ran for almost three hundred yards. I mean, that's more than half of what he had in this off more year at Davis. It was such kind of like a shocker to the people at Dave. Davis that one of their staffers texted again, the UCLA staff going. Hey is that the same Josh Kelley? We used to have. I mean, it was it was amazing this kids like, you know, the.

It's not going to be a real blow out all of a sudden they just pulling away and this doing this do run go eighty one time and another thing I'm sitting there going where the hell is what he forty Carey's. It's crazy forty. Well. This is a fitting end to a dismal season in my opinion. Because these these are two rivals, right? Once inside. Eighty. Courses historic rival. And you get blowed out. Blew out by not hope. So and once that happens, do you can fire him with clear conscience. Everyone gets. Everyone's okay. There's no controversy. There's no. But if sort of is like going, we can't lose the UCLA Notre Dame back to back games yet. But it has happened in the past before those two teams and the coast survived. I don't know if the coach that's the problem talking. But that's not even when when you don't go to a bowl game. Let's assume we don't beat Notre Dame because chances artists probably would've looking like, right? Yeah. And you need to beat him to go to a bowl game. But we're probably not going to Aboagye weird happens. You can't. Got to be over five hundred they're five and six right now. I thought that no they were not. No, you don't you could you could do five wins. But we would never accept it. They give it based on your academe IX in this. I forgot what they call. This all that academic. They're not going. We're not doing our school wouldn't do it. Anyway. Even if they said, hey, come do it. We're not doing it. I get why they did what they did with Klay Hilton. I it it's what they do. Here's why they hired him in the first place we give they're coming off of two. It's they're coming off to really bad relationships that the lane kiffin, and the are Keesing relationships went really really badly. Needs to date a stable guy. Mom needs to Dayton accountant. Who leaves it for every morning and comes back at four every night. And is there and he's reliable and he steady. He's totally uninteresting. He's boring. It doesn't do anything. There's nothing about him. That's interesting. But he's there every single day. And then once she gets back on her feet and just realize, okay? You know, I can go back into the real dating pool. Again. This is what they need to do. They needed a steady guy who wasn't going to barris the program who wasn't going to do anything crazy like show up drunk at a fundraiser or an alumni event who wasn't going to do any other crazy stuff that may or may not have been going on with the other guy. And now, they should the program. It's not embarrassing from a social just embarrassing from a football perspective. That's an easy thing to fire a guy on now, we can move on and go find somebody that can actually try and do something..

"Welcome back last week, former democratic presidential candidate John Kerry talked about his knee memoir. Every day is extra at guardian. Live event. Before he took to the stage. He told us how it fails to see President Trump attempt to undo the work. He did as secretary of state under the bomb administration. Proud of the life of public service with a lot of different chapters. I've said the people in and I mean this completely. I don't take it personally. I really don't. But I'm upset for the world. I'm upset for the substance of what has been changed here. But I'm also proud of the fact that both the Paris agreement which I had the privilege leading negotiations on or the Iran deal are still there. They haven't been blown away. It's just that the president United States pulled out but back in September in New York Britain, Germany, France, China, Russia, sat down with Iranian Foreign Minister. And all agreed. They want to try to keep this deal. Keep the women major players in the security apparatus have our country General Mattis, the former secretary Tillerson believed we should keep this deal because it's working. And that if you want to pressure, Iran, then tell the Iranians we'll give you a year, we're gonna pull out of this deal, fix it. But we want to have the follow on agreement to deal with your missiles to deal with Hezbollah to deal with Yemen. And then you have some leverage you get everybody on your side right now, the president's isolated he doesn't have everybody on your side. So I think it's a it's been a mistake mistake for the world. And then makes it world more dangerous. But that's the way I look at it not about anything to do with me. It has everything to do with preventing the country from having a nuclear weapon and engaging in countries way that your word mean something miniature you say to them we're gonna live by this. And then suddenly another president comes along out. Boy, it's hard to start to negotiate things for the long term. I'm very concerned about what's taking place in North Korea because North Korea as we all saw in the front pages of newspapers couple of days ago is continuing to develop nuclear weapons continuing to deploy those nuclear weapons and doing it secretly so ineffective. It makes it look like the president United States has been completely. He went to meeting. They hit a big meeting in Singapore. Our president stands up and says I love Kim gun and the threats been dealt with. Well, the threat obviously hasn't been delving. And so we cannot have major leaders major nations living in an alternate reality. You can watch the video of the with John carry on our website. That's it for this. If you're liking what you're hearing on the podcast that hit subscribe. My thanks rob base, and John Kerry and everyone the knee castle western feet, Bank and special. Thanks, Sylvie fish and Alison Atkinson Phillips from the food Bank histories research team. Today's producers Joshua Kelly mightly row and Rachel Humphries with sound design by axel KT executives, Nicole Jackson, and Phil may not we'll be back tomorrow. Bye..

"Hello again, everyone who. Along with y'all Dr quarterback lead Cup. We are at the warriors stadium Stephen birthday where most disappointing afternoon and evening has concluded with the bears up short UCLA thirty seven the seven cover. We had high hopes when the afternoon started. But it started poorly and didn't get much better. I think the last two games have been two of the most depressing games. Just. And. Starkey said he needed a valium. I I need to I need a stimulant. I need something that puts me in the other direction because this has been really really a Downer game last week was a real Downer. The second half. Yeah. Yeah. And now what was it that stat? They gave the thirteen turnovers in the last four games. That's not gonna work is it. No. All right. We'll see if this can snap you out of a cover recap scoring and UCLA took a seven nothing lead late in the first quarter after I believe three punts to start the game. Joshua Kelly scored at a five yard run to complete a fifty nine yard scoring drive. It's required nine plays. And it was set up by a fumble recovery. The bears. Fumbled I'll on the sideline and the Bruins picked it up and drove to score was seven nothing Bruins. And that was the score at the end of the first period that it was JJ Molson or the twenty five yard field goal to complete a seventy nine yard drive. Ten nothing. Bruins with ten thirty to play in the half. And another Molson field goal at twenty nine yarder. Made it thirteen to nothing with the five zero seven to play in the second quarter. Cal would then go down to miss a field goal at the end of the first half. And that was a big sequence. I believe it was Noah failed to get out of bounds. And Cal to kill the clock was six seconds to feel chip Kelly. He called two timeouts that appeared that the field goals had been knocked through on. Well, I'm not even they blew the first time out early. But. Yes. The kicker twice and. And it worked the third time. It hit the crossword upright bang back. So that end of the first half thirteen nothing for the Bruins. The second half. Started the great promise Cowdrey seventy five yards a dozen plays with the kickoff, Patrick Leonard scoring on a one year run. It was thirteen to seven eight thirty eight and you had hoped but the Bruins responded quickly with an eighty three yard drive only six plays or two fifteen yard penalties in that. That was twenty two seven with six zero three to play in the third. The Bruins had that quick answer. And that's that's really important as a couple where you can get take a hit. And then come right back to fifteen yard penalties on that drive. So once again, Cal just really hurting themselves with the turnovers and penalties and then Cal was stopped on a fourth and one at midfield with three minutes left in the third quarter. And that really put them in a whole Bruins Asir with a fifty two yard drive. Joshua Kelly a one yard run. For his third touchdown of the game that made at twenty seven seven then another Molson field goal was thirty to seven and finally lose yourself with the thirty eight yard fumble recovery. Thirty seven to seven is the final score. The Bruins beat the bears. Much more to come on. The Cal football postgame show. This is Cal football from learfield..

"The voice of the UCLA Bruins. Josh. What's happened? First of all a favor. I wish I could tell you is a very young team. And they're making some young mistakes are getting better or getting closer. But winless is winless guys. Okay. Tell me about your freshman quarterback because he's an interesting story to be thrown into the role like this. And in spite of his father's comments. I think he seems to be working pretty good. Yeah. You know? I mean, I think the original plan was to kind of excuse me, kind of ease into pool. The pool here a little bit. And he's added cannonball in instead. But you know, kids eighteen years old. Playing teams like Oklahoma in Washington, and that's not easy. But every week, it seems like there's some progress, and I can certainly run with the football. They have really turned him loose for that yet. But I think maybe today you guys the way you do it with your quarterbacks maybe that'll be an inspiration. And maybe he can can kind of turn it up feel. Okay. Nobody's jumping out at this point. As a running back except Kelly Kelly's got some pretty good numbers. But what about the running game? Overall Casimir Allen is a northern California kid has blazing speed. They just can't really seem to to get him. Touches right now, Joshua Kelly, who's at UC Davis transfer just kind of last couple of games is really hit his stride. He's practice twelve they say, and he's kinda the bell cow back the last couple of weeks. What's the biggest impact you've seen? What are the chip Kelly taken over? Well, there's accountability. And that's not just suggested the gym more rain a loose ship. It's just a certain way chip wants things done and been some guys that have been bled out of the program. A lot of freshmen playing fifteen sixteen freshman a game that we're seeing getting legitimate snaps adds a lot when you're breaking in against veteran teams. Like, a Washington has played overview the defense, they're they're okay. Again, very young linebackers really thin. That's probably the toughest part is finding linebackers who can really get after it secondary spend a little disappointing pickets got a lot of tackles. That's because the linebackers hitting anybody. Nate matters is had kind of. Step back kind of a year. I think a lot of people were surprised you even came back seemed like he was NFL ready last year had a tough year. So far this year. Okay jasser. Let you go back to work theirself. Ben today. It's Callen UCLA. Thanks for coming. Over pleasure, buddy. Great to see you. Okay. Josh lewin..
