So are these stories don now probably not even close quoting CNBC, the announcement comes ahead of an expected statement Friday by President Donald Trump on whether or not the government will approve a deal for Oracle to take minority stake and TIKTOK and become a trusted technology partner for the company in the US. It's unclear if the Commerce Department's announcement means there's no possibility of a deal going through. Before this Sunday deadline, it could be an aggressive move from the trump administration to push for its original intention to force Tiktok to become fully owned by a US company. Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup

"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

With Jockstrap-Scented Candles, Babe Wine Wants to Bring the NFL Home

"Wouldn't want to spend twenty nine dollars on a candle that smells like a jockstrap well, plenty of people. But Hey, if that's your thing now you can babe wind. The official wine of the NFL has launched a line of Senate. Candles intended to bring the entire football experience including the locker room into your home. The twenty twenty NFL season kicked off last Thursday night, and with only a few exceptions, fans can't be there in person this year. So what better way to experience the joys of life football from the sweaty jock straps to the smell of overpriced eighteen dollar Nachos then to invest in Sports Senate Kennels at least. So goes the thinking of the marketing folks at bay wine babe is a can wine owned by anheuser Busch inbev parent company. Of Budweiser, when founder Josh Ostrovsky started the company back in Twenty fifteen it was his goal to make babe the bud light of the wine world know Somalia needed here guys behind the cheeky ads. Is a strategy intended to pump up online sales and the funny bones of Anheuser Busch's most coveted hard to win over market of millennials. As we've reported here before beer sales have been flat lining for some time younger drinkers in particular are increasingly turning the cocktails hard seltzer wine and wine spritzers although it's still the tiniest of all spirits, categories, sales of canned wine or bubbling over over the twelve months ending this June off premises canned wine sales grew by almost eighty percent according to Nielsen off premises. Sales are all those purchased outside bars and restaurants by the way clearly where all the action has been happening the last six months. All these stats are serious business for Babe wines huge parents searching as it is for ways to continue growing as its core product beer struggles. But let's go back to the locker room. Shall we examined the connection between Anheuser Busch's falling beer sales and candles that smell like musk and men's deodorant? Well, no one's buying the bud light of wine for the way it's grapes are grown now they're buying it 'cause babe wine is an instagram hit Ostrovsky is better known by his instagram handle the fat Jewish. He has ten million followers. The brand has one hundred, eighty thousand. So far Ostrovsky is nothing if not both funny and provocative, the brand partnered with dating out, bumble this summer to pay the moving costs to people sick of the X.'s they got stuck living with during the pandemic the two companies mocked up a bright pink truck emblazoned with the sign, your XS canceled babe and Bumbler here to help you move on literally. To enter the contest participants needed to what else tag themselves on the Instagram Post like the signature background in all of its ads, babes, stunts, or designed for instagram especially to attract younger women market anheuser-busch fervently wants to grow. If it's not obvious by now the candles themselves may makes some money. You can buy all three for sixty nine dollars, but they're primarily an attention getting device it to get you to stop scrolling in hit the buy button on a box of canned rose eh read or Pino Griego it's online marketing shrewd. You might say but it's not like babe wind has the wind can market to itself. There are at least one hundred brands of canned wine as makers scrambled to get a sip of this growing market while no single brand stands out as the most popular one that poses a challenge to babe wine is yes. Way Rosa like babe wine. Yes. Way Rosie was launched on Instagram in two thousand thirteen friends Eric Blumenthal and Nikki Hugo near started as an instagram account celebrating Rosie wine. Selling actual y came later the fashion editor and art director soon had a hit on their hands in twenty eighteen there bottled Rosa caught on at target just this year they began selling their grenache blandon Pastel pink cans. Yes Way Rosa doesn't have the NFL stamp of approval minds you but with almost no one in the stands that stadium branding is far less valuable than it would have been pre pandemic and that gives the women behind Guess Way Rosaiah a lot more runway. But they're going to have to come up with something pretty startling to steal attention back for turf, Nacho and. jockstrap scented candles.

FaZe Jarvis Plays Fortnite Again After 1 Year Anniversary Of Getting Banned By Epic

"You know Tim a to talk Ford night from time to time. So I'm glad we get him to do it. We are few POD. Though. For those of you that don't remember there was a player on face face Jarvis that streamed himself cheating. To show in his words to show how easy it was to cheat in fortnight and he was making it a youtube video. So intentionally, did it intentionally streamed it stupid I. Thank you. I know there's a lot of advocates for him. Thought it was a dumb thing to do anytime. You Cheat in a game you're gonNA wrist assault yourself from being permanently banned it look they came down with the harsh penalty on him in the sense that they are not going to abandon. He is permanently banned from playing for night at least onstream. Obviously, they're not gonNA be able to stop him upstream from creating multiple counts so. Just, the other day he tweets out I'm back I'M GONNA play for at night tonight basically double Fu to the epic. Developers in said GonNa play Fortnight An. So the high built up around this and got a lot of likes was trending on Youtube that Jarvis back and Yada Yada Yada he streams for thirteen minutes before. His band kicks in those the can't see me I'm doing this in quotes ban the reason this is. In its early speculation on land. That was totally staged that whole thing was a hundred percent in my mind a staged video made for you to it didn't go to a ban screen at just said he been logged out which in my mind makes me believe somebody else just logged into his account in another computer another room to kick him out. It happened like thirteen minutes and it was the perfect youtube reaction video. I mean you might as well have had courage Maven in all these guys in there yelling it was that hyped when he got band. To me just a it was made for cliques. They got the impression out of it. It did what it was supposed to do, but it was bogus data was so fake I one hundred percent I mean first off a new Josh I don't I don't know if it was faked because phase such a genuine organization. Especially, on the content creation side I mean nothing they do is staged or exaggerated or setup not at all not at all phases. Super honest in that regard. From, the beginning. I have here I. Don't know how this is going to sound because I'm playing it through my phone. This is when Jarvis got caught the first time and he did his apology video. So this this audience you know it sounds. Apologies if this doesn't sound good especially from a game, you know love so much like. This I never thought. I'd have to. ICON speak. You know I have who wanNA. Like John to be able to play for my again. That's all I WANNA do is play for I. You know I just wanted to do your white truly loved the most in life, and so there's a quick snippet. There's like seven minutes of it and you get the point he was like bawling his eyes out during his apology video and then like within forty eight hours and make another clips and he's laughing and they're doing their bit where they're like, well, why yes. Phase do, phase up no hate. I. Don't want to I don't hate anyone, but if I had to hate someone. Jarvis would probably be my top ten. His reason forgetting band was incredibly done to begin with in now just the way that this is like. Gone is just a big publicity stunt is how I feel in. So I mean look I don't hate him at all like I. Really Don't hate him. He has an effective is literally I've thought of Jarvis phase drivers twice in my life. This moment now and when he was banned the first time other than that, I've never heard of him. I don't know really know what he does at phase he could be the mail for you needed him to do this to make it worth it to keep them on. You know on on the payroll. To do something big, it was big in accomplished. What they were supposed to do. It was just it's funny. 'cause I know there's a lot of people out there that believe it was it was real like there are a lot of twelve year olds which is. Large. Audience to like you know it's a fun video for them. So they did a good job in that retrospect but. A bullshit stage video at the end of the day right like any. Normal adult will watch that India like. They did this for clerks pretty fast or pretty effect, but the twelve year olds eat it up. So. Famous phase up phase up.

Contractor vs. Employee, What's The Difference

"We begin with Zach Zach with the show. How can I serve you today Sir Hi Josh thanks so much for taking my call Before you started in my question, I'll just give you a brief background on my situation So I work as a as a project manager and for the last couple of years, I've been contracting through a contract firm So I was laid off a couple of months ago obviously to the coronavirus but luckily, I was able to land a new position yesterday. In the process of searching for jobs, I. Several shooters. But one recruiter I brought up the option of receiving my income through my own. LLC. So the way I the way I see it. Essentially, my options would be to work as a W. Two employees. So where I would get an hourly rate from the contract firm I could get paid through the LLC So. L LLC would be the employer who hires me would be paying me through that firm at contract firm. this option would pay as I. Understand it about three to ten dollars an hour This is an hourly rate. So and then the last option, which is something I've been wanting to do but I want to hear your thoughts on this is you kind of cut out that middleman completely stand up my own LLC and maybe pay like a finders fee to a recruiting company. So I'm just hoping you could discuss some of the pros and cons of these options and Let me don't you think It's a good question. The first thing to begin with that you have to start with is, are you a contractor or are you an employee? This is an area where the IRS has started to become much tighter in recent years and it's an area that's under dispute I. Guess Most famously when California recently passed new legislation affecting contractors and making it even harder to be a crunch actor in that state where you saw. Uber and the various ridesharing services and affected by that where they're trying to classify the contractors as employees, and that is leading to major problems. But the IRS regulations on the subject are fairly clear, and if you'll begin with those those regulations, then you'll get an idea of which path is best to go. So if I just use these words without actually defining them if I just simply use these words of employee and contractor, are you an employee or are you a contractor? So that that's the thing I could be. I well Dr Yeah whether I get paid to it w two I'm still contracting. Contract firm respect me up with the employer that that needs the work done. Okay. So in this situation, the company hiring company is going to hire a contract firm and either you will be an employee of that contract form firm or the employing company will hire own contracting firm. I I believe. So I, think what you're saying that second part is they would be I would have my own LLC and then A little confusing. But like that the contract I kinda the Middle Man. So regardless of buying paid through W. Two or paid through like ten ninety, nine, independent contractor it would go through the contract farm. So in your situation. In your situation, this may work out fine for you to do be deciding this. But in my experience answering this question much of the time when I'm asked this question, the answer is simple. You simply go and ask what is the IRS say about whether you're a contractor or an employee, and let's follow that and I'm going to give you how the irs defines that and then move onto answering your specific question. But the IRS uses three distinct categories to create a set of facts that will lean in one direction or another in those three categories are behavioral control, financial control and the relationship between the worker and the employing company. Behavioral control a worker is an employee. When the business has the right to direct and control the work performed by the worker even if that right is not exercised and that is probably the most significant one by the way, why is this important because there are significant penalties for the hiring company if they miss classify somebody as a contractor who is actually an employee and so the biggest danger is not for you as the. Worker it's actually for the company, but if the were if the company has the right to control the work performed by the worker, then you are an employee behavioral control categories are the type of instructions given such as when and where to work what tools to use or where to purchase supplies and services receiving the types of instruction in these examples may indicate that a worker is an employee. Degree of instruction more detailed instructions may indicate that the worker is an employee less dealed instruct detailed instructions indicate less control indicating that the worker is more likely to be an independent contractor.

"All right. Amid the uproar over the president's pandemic response, A new item appeared on the White House schedule yesterday, and it was very clearly a change of subject. I am announcing 20 additions to my original list. Of candidates for the United States Supreme Court That list served him well and energizing conservatives. Back in 2016, NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg reports on what he is offering in 2020. Administration insiders, Khun See that this list of 20 names is a validly more political. While the previous three lists included just one elected politician and no administration officials, this one includes three U. S. Senators all fire breathing conservative Republicans, Arkansas's Tom Cotton. Ted Cruz of Texas and Missouri's Josh Holly. All three have directly or indirectly criticized Chief Justice John Roberts for not being conservative enough, and all three have presidential ambitions. Indeed, Holly tweeted that he's not really interested in a seat on the court. Also on the list are a top White House lawyer and to top officials from the Trump Justice Department, including former solicitor General Noel Francisco who've carried Trump's legal banner in the courts. Perhaps the most interesting name on the list is Paul Clement, who served as solicitor general in the George W. Bush administration and is considered perhaps the best legal advocate among the very able lawyers who practice regularly before the Supreme Court. Clement has an added value. He's represented a variety of conservative interests before the court from gun rights advocates to religious groups to groups opposed to Obama care. As for federal judges on the list, they're all trump appointees with records hostel through abortion, voting rights legislation, LGBT rights and regulation of business and the environment. According to sources involved in compiling the list. The White House counsel, as is usual, presided over the process. But White House chief of staff Mark Meadows was aggressively involved and even the president's son in law. Jared Kushner, got into the act, as did some conservative senators like Holly, who pushed back against including Federal appeals court judge Naomi Row because of some of her writings prior to becoming a judge, But as a judge, she's written some of the lower court decisions most supportive of Trump. With the latest list of 20 new names now added to the 45 names on his previous lists. Trump on Wednesday blasted Democrat Joe Biden for failing to release a comparable list and the president issued a dark warning about the future. If Biden is elected and has an opportunity to pick one or more justices, radical justices will erase the Second Amendment. Silence political speech and require taxpayers to fund extremely term abortion. In fact, the courts five conservative justices are all in good health and two of them. Trump appointees Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh are the youngest members of the court at 53 55, respectively. The only ailing justices 87 year old Ruth Bader Ginsburg, leader of the court's liberal wing, who's being treated for 1/5 bout with cancer, her second cancer in less than two years. Should she leave the court. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has said that the GOP would fill the sea even though McConnell four years ago refused for nearly a year. To allow hearings on President Obama's nominee to fill the seat of Justice Antonin Scalia, who died unexpectedly in February of 2016. McConnell's justification for blocking the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland was that the voters have a right to make their views known in the presidential election. A rationale that GOP leader is not embracing this year. Nina Totenberg NPR NEWS Washington

"You could find him on Twitter at Saks Machine underscored Josh. Josh. Thanks for joining me this morning. How are you? I am doing great. It is sunny and Chicago and the White Sox are playing really good baseball. So at least for this week on the South side, everything is great. That is awesome. That is a sound of a happy, happy baseball fan. Which is awesome. So Josh first question for you, the White Sox and the Cubs, obviously playing this thiss Siri's this weekend, and it actually don't mean something for the first time in a while, Both teams are competing for their division titles. How has that been watching these last two games? Knowing it isn't just about beating the Cubs? It's about being the Cubs and keeping pace in the A L. Central Yeah, that's a good point that you made. I mean, it's been a really long time since both teams have been in postseason contention. While they have played each other in the serious we're talking. Maybe 2008. Was the last time that both of these teams were towards the top of their divisions. And without the fans in the stands. It's been odd watch. But you can tell at least on the enthusiasm and determination from the White Sox part, but these games were really important for them. This is a young team that has the veteran Sprinkle, then that want to win and they really wanted to show after sweeping the Detroit Tigers in four games that they are for real, and I am sure they're aware that they didn't perform well. Against Minnesota and Cree went to start the season and instead of just beating, you know, the teams that are terrible, they want to prove that they can be a good team like the Chicago Cubs and picking up this series that already should really help elevate as far as how they feel about themselves because after today Get two off days on Monday and Thursday, and they play the Pittsburgh Pirates twice and the Kansas City Royals next weekend at home. This is the opportunity for the White Sox to really pad their win total before they have a pretty grueling stretch on the last two weeks of the season, where they faced the Twins read the Indians and the Cubs. Tio ended 2020 season. Right now, Everything seems to be cooking for the White Sox, both on the offense and pitching side and this is the best they have played in a really, really long time. And that has to make the whole fan base. You know, optimistic about where this team is headed. I talked a bit of go about how the White Sox could really turn into kind of the poster child for how to how to complete a rebuild. It hasn't been easy. There's been some lean years there on the South side, but now they have a young core they have supplemented with, you know, Grondahl on Dallas cycle are the White Sox in the goal for it part of the rebuild. Do you think with the acquisitions of a couple of those veterans stars or are they still a year away? If you will? The rebuild ended when they sign Yasmani Grandal that that was the moment that the White Sox decided that they were transitioning because you don't give out the largest free agent contract in team history. Thinking that okay, well in 2020, we're going to just be okay. And then you follow that up by signing Dallas cycle on you trade for Nomar Mazara, and you signed it when coffee onto a one year deal. Wild white socks maybe didn't think of themselves as world. Serious contenders in 2020, with the goal was definitely to be competitive in the American League essential and compete for one of the wild card spots. Obviously, the expectations changed in Major League Baseball decided to go from 5 to 8 playoff teams in the American League and the expectations of South changed, too, with fans because While they may not have been a top five team in American League based on projections for the season, they were definitely stopping. So yeah. Fans are expecting the White Sox to make the post season this year and they have like a three game lead. I believe as 1/7 seed over the eighth seed, so they're in a comfortable position. But now with the way they have been playing, and it's not like the Minnesota Twins are invincible and the Cleveland Indians dealing with their own issues as far as in the clubhouse with Mike Levinger, exactly fact not having them. In the starting rotation. The White Sox are on ly a game back, and they can continue to stay within striking distance here. It does raise the hopes within the fan base. So could this be? Could they finally fulfilled its dark horse process in 2020? Doc the league and win the American League essential when everybody thought it would be the Twins and Indians competing for the division title. Also, hopes are high. Right now, there's still a second half the season left to go in. The White Sox have a lot of games against the Twins and Indians still At least they have put themselves in the position to have this type of conversation where you have to look extra hard at them, and teams have to take them more seriously than they were probably expecting to start this season. Josh Nelson joining me he is the host of the sax machine podcast. You could find him on Twitter at socks machine underscored Josh. And speaking of that optimism. You know how Sox fans felt about the organization through this rebuild process because there's been some lean years. But did the fan base remain optimistic, knowing they get to this point of winning more than losing at some point? I think there are some that were very optimistic. And there were some that were very dour. Let's say we control those gonna work. No rebuild is ever perfect. The White Sox have done a terrific job on the international front, obviously bringing in Louie's Robert the White Sox have done an excellent job as Faras the returns they got from trading Chris Sale and Jose Quintana and Adam eating away. Ah, and they have, you know, rebuild this lives there until core there, And they have done a good job so far with the veteran acquisitions, especially with Alice Cycle and Yasmani Grandal. A draft record, though, is that and they're not getting anything from 15 4016 or 2017 1st round picks and they have four first round picks in that three year stretch, and they're just not getting anything from those first round picks. Now we have to look at Nick Magical. And Andrew von, who were the 18 4019 1st round picks, hoping that the lights have You know that impact homegrown talent that every team wants to get out of there. First round pick now what the White Sox are getting this year. Uh, the diamonds in the rough you're you're mad. Foster's in your Cody Hoyer's and your Danny Mondex. Major League Baseball fans don't really know who these guys are. They probably have never heard of them before, but the three players have been significant contributors. To the Chicago White Sox, with Foster and Hoyer coming out of the bullpen and being incredibly effective and then demanded doing a good job holding his own, replacing the magical A second baseball match. Magical is on the men. Ah, what they separated shoulder and that's where the white socks should get Some credit Esparza player development sticking with these guys that are not first round challenge, but still giving them the opportunity and they're relishing with the opportunity. But right now we're White Sox fans said. I think they're they're happy with how everything has unfolded, and they're hoping that whatever success they get in 2020 really opens up. A playoff detention window because in the hundreds of years of White Sox team history more than a century, this franchise has never made the postseason. And back to back seasons on..

"There wasn't any better. It needs to be better. Needs to. We haven't given up one first down in three years playing defense. Okay. So that is to me if you look at it that was a guy who was very ready to answer that question in gym shorts. But we all know that there have been several circumstances where this is fourth and long third and long or third and a lot or whatever and either get close to the stakes or they get a I f five times the season eagles given up a first down of third and fifteen or fourth fifteen now maybe in a different defense, not the one that Zach was referencing to Jim. But we all know the point there been too many times where the eagles play too far off. In that almost prevent if you will and give a big chunks yardage. It's a valid question by Zack Berman affiliate dot com and. You know, Jim pulled the lawyer act there with that answer. But let let circle back to a couple of different things one. Let me be really clear about this. I want no parts of commercial Carmelo Anthony under any circumstances. He's done. He's bad for teams. Why do you think Houston has gotten rid of him in a hot second? Why is that? Is that a coincidence that he's out of here or out of there that quickly? It's not a coincidence. They know he's done. They know he's bad for a team Oklahoma City wanted no parts of them. And the Knicks couldn't get rid of him. What does that tell you? You can't play. And he's a good teammate. I don't want any parts of. I don't care that. He first of all he can't create a shot anymore. He could ten years ago, but he can't anymore. I like I said earlier if you can get Korver for nothing. Absolutely. I'd be in favor of that. He brings you a dimension that you don't have off of your batch guy who can shoot it. So I would absolutely do that in a second. I would do that. But I get the frustration with Schwartz. I get it. You know, if you look at the defensive numbers, you want to say hollow you wanna call it. Whatever. The points per game is not dramatically different from last year. And that is the ultimate stat. But we know when watching this team the problem is they can't get a stop. When you need the worst. They can't. The offense has been the bigger issue without question this year. And they're not nearly as banged up at other the running backs the situation is not great. But they're not nearly as banged up as the defenses. But that said we know from watching this team the defense hasn't been good enough either. They just haven't they don't take the ball away. And they don't get stops. In the biggest of moments we've seen it now, and how many different games Carolina, Tennessee, Minnesota Dallas whenever the eagles when the offense finally woke up in the second half Sunday night. And they scored Dallas go right down the field and score again. And just take that momentum right back. I mean, that's been the case all year. They don't get takeaways. Therefore, there's never a short field for the offense which doesn't make their job easier. And as I started the show off by saying Doug Peterson been exposed. He's been exposed. It's okay. To say he was great last year. He has not been great this year. You know, we gotta stop resting on that laurel everybody appreciates it. Everybody loves the fact that they finally won one. Okay. I grew up here lived here my whole life. I appreciate it too. But we're onto the next one, and we're dealing with the here. And now, not the ven. And if you look at the job that he's done this year. It hasn't been good enough as a head coach. And it hasn't been good enough as a as a quasi offensive coordinator. He just has it play caller, whatever you wanna call Doug. They've been predictable. They've been a team that hasn't been able to cash in the red zone. Like they did last year. And I think a lot of that has with Frank Reich and John D Filipo not being here. One hundred percent. Now, it was inevitable that when you have success. The guys are going to leave. It's inevitable. And Frank Reich. It's a head coaching gig good for him. And he's doing a nice job with cults, and John D Filipa will be a head coach probably next year. And he's doing a good job with the Vikings. You got a lot of weapons but he's doing a good job with the Vikings. So that was going to happen. But what did you do to replace those guys? You know, what we're seeing now is some of that dynamic playcalling may not have just been Doug. Josh and fish down. Josh you're on ninety four back pay. Hey, what's up up? Josh first-time caller here. Expense. I wanna talk about the eagles and one thing one big difference. We had a really the last last year with an easy. Schedule rolling pretty easily. We may be only be clots. Time you now it seems like every game we have to be caught because we're facing tougher team. But it was this a tough game this week. Now, I think they're definitely worth. Right. I mean, I hear Josh. Here's the thing neck if you want to say the saints one hundred percent, I'm waiting the Cowboys coming off getting spanked at home. That's not a tough game. That's the game. You got to win at home period. That's not a hard schedule. That's not playing well enough. No, I agree. But I feel there had to reach in the bag of clots that they didn't have. And that's that was a problem. Probably they. Because of the tough, schedule and expose. I would say more things they were struggling against like even quarterbacks you could do a quick pass even last year. Now this year like Fitzpatrick quick passes, and I feel they they still struggled with season quarterback. Now, he didn't get a lot of them last year. And when they did they were able to get some clutch moments out. Yeah. I mean, they certainly haven't had the clutch, gene. That's for sure. I mean as many when the eagles really started to get on a roll they started to beat teams. But they had some close games. That's for sure. And they figured out ways to finish. Take the Atlanta game in the playoffs. Right. We we tend to forget now because they went on to kill Minnesota. And then how crazy Super Bowl was? But you know, they barely escape that Atlanta game. But they did just enough this year. It's the opposite. They're finding ways to lose games. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. I agree that it's not. I think clutches the big thing. And I don't know if it's a team. Maybe you're right. Maybe. That'd be and had some help from the last offensive coordinator. I don't know what it is. Or is it just? I think I think they we will momentum. They were able to bring over from having an easier schedule. Now, we're dealing with the tougher. Yes. But here's the thing. Josh, thanks for the call, brother. I I don't buy. Granted there the Super Bowl champs their schedules. Definitely gonna be tougher. But you're the Super Bowl champs. I mean, you can't beat the likes of the Cowboys at home. In a game that you have to have that you put yourself in a spot that you have to have you can't win that that's not a tough schedule. That's you not getting it done period. That's you not playing well enough. You get up on a team seventeen nothing heading into the fourth quarter at home Carolina who Pittsburgh slaughtered last week took him apart. And you can't finish they score three straight touchdowns. And and a two point conversion, and you do nothing. That's not a tough schedule. That's you not playing well enough. I can't put this on a tougher schedule. I'm sorry. There's too many excuses being made for the team to begin with whether it's injuries or or anything else. They don't want it enough. Our greatest fear that they would become fat cats because they want a Super Bowl and not give the proper effort have come to fruition. They've come to to to to be true as hard as it is to accept as eagles fans, you need to accept.

"When did you start writing your block? I started writing in twenty fourteen maybe. Do you think of it as a theme? It'll. Yeah, it is sure it is. And most of everything that I ride just basically comes down to investing. Really hard. And I think somehow people still underestimate that. So that is certainly a common theme through everything that I read about an headed that turn into the idea for writing a book. So I said to Josh one day, I have an idea. I'm gonna write a book about the best investors and their single best investment ever. And he said, no, no, no. The best investors and our worst investments ever. I I was was like, like, oh. oh, dammit, you're right, of course is so obvious and now is it I latched onto it right away and I got going and headed. You think about the process? I never done anything like this. I was kicked out of college twice. I don't. I don't have. I never had the attention span to really put my my head to the grind. I'm push Bush that line, but so it was. It was just me going to the coffee shop every weekend and my baby. I just been born. So I mean, I guess I was like a convenience get out of the house, but it was probably like almost a year and a half just every weekend, maybe halfway through three quarters. I start to get frustrated because I was started from scratch with every chapter and I was reading both that I had already read and reading with purpose, not just skimming looking for facts. And then I would have ten thousand words of notes that I would have to cut down to three thousand word chapter entertaining. I knew at the time that I would look back with memories and I will and and I am, but it was. It was work. I looked at this book through the lens of the average person, so I can't teach. Injures anything. You know what I mean? Like they know far more than I ever will about how businesses or value and stuff like that. But I always have the average person in mind. Whenever I'm writing, I'd love to dive into some of the stories and some of the chapters, and we just sort of go through what you learned along the way to why don't we start at the top with Ben Graham. The point of that chapter was just there are limits value investing. You could be the best business analysts in the world, and you might have a great long term track record, and things might be okay, but there are limits to value investing. Obviously his returns were good, but they were not like extraordinarily good. Now he did beat the Mark by almost two percent a year for decent Monto time said they were very good. Don't get me wrong, but they weren't like whole Mike God, and he got crushed in the depression like everybody did. But what was interesting about him in particular that he was positioned pretty conservatively going to the crash, but things got so cheap where businesses were worth more dead than alive because there was a real question like worthies business going to exist. Any. So he went an early and he couldn't resist values and he got destroyed that notion of kind of catching a falling knife. We all like to think we can pick the price at the bottom. Pick the manager at the bottom, whatever it is. I did a ton of that. And one of the reasons why confidence, right? This book, like who the hell am I to to write a book about mistakes that all these giants have made, but I made a lot of them and now I didn't. I never blew up or anything, but I caught so many fall knives. I bought stocks the fifty two week, low list, like I did the opposite of what you're supposed to be doing because it's very tempting, right? You think that Stockton from ninety two forty s. cheap. Well, maybe, but maybe there's a really good reason why it's now. David Einhorn who said the way the way psychos down. Ninety percent goes down eight percent and then gets cut in half. Yup. Yeah, tough. How about Jesse Livermore? Yeah. So this was my path in discovering the markets. The first book that I read was the intelligent investor. I was so excited..

"There's no reason why Dr blazey Ford should be getting less due process than Anita hill got, and we all know how terribly need a hill was treated. But that's a sensually where we are right now. Josh one big struck me when the allegations for surfaces that a lot of people rush to defend. Cavenaugh not in the way he did. He said, this is not true and denied it and a bunch of you wanted to make the argument. Well, if you do something when you're seventeen, this is Ari Fleischer. Making version of that argument. Take a listen. But there's a bigger ethical issue. I want to get to here too. I wanna say this with a lot of sensitivity because he's sensitive issues, but high school behavior, how much and society should any of us be held liable today when we've lived at good life, upstanding life by all accounts. And then something that maybe is arguable issue took place in highschool. Should that deny chances later in life even for supreme court job a presidency of the United States or you name it? It was interesting, Josh. That was an argument that so many rush to. Yeah, when I think we should note that that's not the argument the Kavanagh's made possibly because it's not very good argument, but also possibly because he didn't do this and if he didn't do this, why would he need to defend his theoretical actions in high school? But I think you know, we're likely to end up in a position here regardless of the of whether there is further FBI investigation here senators, Susan Collins today raised the possibility. They could go back to the f. b. i. after there's a. Hearing on Monday if doctor testifies on Monday, but because of the nature of this allegation, thirty five years in the past, I think it's unlikely that the f. b. i. is likely to produce information that is inclusive in either direction. And so back to your point about Kavanagh's credibility, I think it's basically going to be on this committee to make an evaluation of the relative credibility of these two people, and then to make an evaluation of what to do in a situation where you're unsure whether Brett cavenaugh has done this or not. There's not a this is not like a criminal proceeding where you have a evidentiary standard set out in law where you have to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. It is up to the senators discretion. How sure they have to feel about whether or not cavenaugh did this. And I think they need to do some soul-searching on that because it's very unlikely. I think that we're going to have conclusive proof either way. I think that point vanita. I mean, just seem to me that there is no escaping through process coming to a determination about fool, you believe. I think that's right if we had faith that the Republican senators were actually acting in good faith and trying to take seriously, they're all of advice and consent. But when you have a whole process where only ten percent of the documents were made available where there's been concealment throughout this entire process where they're invoking executive privilege in an unprecedented way on materials and documents that have that have no business being being hidden from the public. And from senators throughout this process, there has been, it's been nothing has been given reason to have any credibility in this process to think that senators are taking that role seriously wouldn't even eater you would oppose cavenaugh would no matter what the processes look. We were. There's no question that we were opposing having on his record and on, and I will say the process just made it all that much worse for the American public to actually not be able to fully consider the fullness of his of his background. But I will say the senators themselves have a very. They have a constitutional duty to me. And I think throughout this process and now is being thoroughly highlighted by the way that they're just trying to jam this through and enor- standard procedure. It is..

"At eight josh one i will give you or any of our listeners a great white paper called the total portfolio solution and if you're concerned with potential volatility my good buddy steve blumenthal has created something called enhanced multiple portfolio theory and he says it's possible to construct portfolios offering a more conservative level of risk in this high market i would favor smallcap over large value over growth to generally answer your question but we have to figure in what degrees so let's say you're really conservative a lot of 401k's are now offering guaranteed income options you may not have that available so some of the 401k's that we're offering our now having a guaranteed interest account of two point seven to three percent so that might be a bond allocation so you know maybe you put forty percent at three percent you follow forty two point seven percent and the other sixty percent maybe ten percent and small cap value ten percents small cap growth timber sent large cap value ten percent emerging markets ten percent china you know ten percent japan if you want some juice but we would go over each and every 401k holding for you we would put it on our model and do some stress tests to see if there would be you know how resilient you would be if we experienced greater turmoil in the markets does that help you yes it does another ballpark my wife and i make about one fifty a year we have about seven hundred thousand in 401k's and i mean we're gonna eat cat food at sixty five or are we sort of you know plugging away okay if you make about one fifty year and you've maxed out your social security you're gonna probably get about sixty grants a couple on social security that's if you're lucky you may be at about forty five thousand of social security depending on how much she worked because generally women get penalized on social security because they don't have as many work credits because if they stay at home for a period of time so that's the metoo movement with social security but nobody's talking about that so let's say you get forty five thousand from social security on a seven.
