"This is the second straight show where we've wrapped up with just way too much optimism. About teams relative to where we're ranking them. We were all about the Texans at 29 last week. And now we're turning into turning into good morning football circa 2018, where they're just like, who had the number one pick in the 2000 19 draft. In October about the winless cardinals and Josh Rosen and they just be like, you know what I'm starting to like here I see Josh Rosen Steve Wilkes. They got something going on. You know, I think we do sound a little bit like that. So yeah, we do have to be careful. We have to pump the brakes. Can I throw out the guy who moves me emotionally in a positive way? And as long as we have these vibes going, I might as well keep it going. And you can add one shoe, or you can just say it was bigger Mayfield. And Ben mcadoo at this point, but Tommy tremble, I really want to use Tommy tremble. I believe I said Tommy tremble was shades of George kittle coming out of Notre-Dame. I don't know. I just really want to see him in a lot of catch and run situations. Obviously, bigger Mayfield utilize his tight ends well in Cleveland. I hope I like Ian Thomas fine. I think he and Thomas is a capable sort of, I don't know, replacement level starter in the NFL. I think Tommy tremble is ready for a breakout, I think Tom tremble is just wonderful. It's a cat's pajamas. Yeah, Tommy tremble sounds like Tommy tremble sounds like the name of one of the Pokémon trainers you face like right before you get to the elite four. It's just like, oh no. Not Tommy tremble. As for the player who moves me on this roster, if we want to talk about, if we want to talk about Baker Mayfield in the offensive line, I don't think you can have that conversation without Taylor moton, who's actually a really just a really good right tackle. I think he's just really good at his job. Yeah. So I think that's something to call out. And then for player who moves me additionally, that the B, the subset to that would be JC horn, right? Let's see, let's see this guy with an extended body of work. And then I think that we can start to make some definitive judgments about this coaching staff personnel department. We can start to have some big picture thoughts. I like it. I like it. All right, I think we sort of declared them dark horse wild card contender in a very bad NSC, which. Yeah, baby. There we go. All right, Connor, we're back next Monday with four more of these. We will be counting down teams 25 through 21. As we unveil the big 32, the 32 ish 32, 31 plus one. 31 times one plus one. Yeah, I mean, well, we got to figure out a name for this. Or it's just the Gary and Connor off season preview. I feel like we lean more towards that sort of meta underwhelming generic thing is a bit. But maybe we should get explosive with it, you know? Maybe the time

"You know, there are a lot of owners out there who are like, you know, it comes back to what's in their wallet, right? In a fully guaranteed market resetting contract and they're like, F these guys, you know, and so I think that there are a lot of teams who are mad at them. There are a lot of teams that won't deal with them and there are a lot of teams that understand bash Baker Mayfield anonymously all you want. He's gonna be able to start for at least 11 teams in the NFL right now. Probably, you know, ten, 11 teams. Would you say? I don't know. I would think so. I mean, I would say ten teams. I think he's an upgrade at ten spots in the NFL right now. The question becomes and look, I would have loved to know if that's mister trubisky. I would have loved to see Mayfield get a crack down there. In that offense and, you know, it's whatever. We'll see if it happens. If you're one of these teams, and again, the Panthers and the Seahawks are the two teams that you kind of circle as saying like, okay, the Panthers don't have a starting quarterback. And the Seahawks probably don't have a starting quarterback. If those teams, which they're both picking the top ten, if they like one of these quarterbacks, okay, well, what are you giving up for? Baker Mayfield or Jim Garoppolo to come in there and basically be a one year bridge guy, or at least that's how you hope it plays out. And Jimmy Garoppolo, it hurts that, well, both of these guys really, I mean, baker came off a disastrous season that was caused by a shoulder injury. Jimmy Garoppolo just got the shoulder surgery, right? So I think a lot of teams might have to wait. And it could be a sort of a modified Viking Sam Bradford situation, right? Where you're just kind of waiting it out and then you wait post draft and then you let the market come back to you and then you deal them when maybe somebody gets hurt, maybe somebody's not ready. Whatever it is, but I think that there's going to be a market for both of these guys, but I think until the medical comes back until the smoke clears, you know, I don't think anybody's going to jump on this. I can't believe how horribly the browns played this. And to their credit and it pains me to say this, but to this point, they've been like almost a maniacally calculated franchise under the new regime, you know? And I just can't believe it happened this way. Where it's worse than what Steve Kim did with Josh Rosen, where you just absolutely nuked the value of the other piece that you had to the point where you're going to get almost nothing back for a premium investment. And I can't believe there was no plan B there. Like, oh yeah, this guy will love backing up to Sean Watson. On what is that going to happen? Yeah? I mean, and they got Jacoby brisset, so they're all set at one a for their quarterback at this point. All comes back to Jacob. Again, it's wild because if you back it up a year, you know, this time last year we were talking about, okay, well, when is baker going to get his deal? And he probably wasn't going to top homes. Josh Allen, et cetera, but he was going to get a contract. Of course, after that playoff win they'd have to invest in him in some way..

"No, dead for 5 and 5. And I'm pretty, I'm pretty disappointed in how the Broncos a year is going. It's just not been good. And very, very frustrating. Number 5, the Dallas Cowboys dominated the falcons 43 to three. It was a great win for Dallas coming off of a bad loss last week to Denver. And cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, used to be the head coach of the falcons last year. We got fired. And so in this game, it felt like, hey, Dan Quinn got his revenge. It was cool to see. It appeared like he used his knowledge of the falcons quarterback. His former quarterback Matt Ryan to make Matt Ryan suffer. Oh my gosh, Matt Ryan. He was 9 for 21 passing. Had a 117 yards, which is pretty good for 9 completions. But he had two interceptions. It was ugly. This score three points all day, and then the backup quarterback came in for the falcons. Josh Rosen, hey, remember that guy? Josh Rosen. He's still the NFL. He was one for 6 passing. He also had an interception. It was a completely dominating win by the Dallas Cowboys. And good to see for them to come back and bounce back after a really bad loss during NFL week 9. Number 6 the page rates droid. The Cleveland Browns 45 to 7. Remember that the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick used to coach in Cleveland. He got fired, and every time the Patriots play Cleveland, he punishes them. The Patriots, by the way now, are 6 and four. They've won four games in a row. I've been saying this and I think other people are starting to agree with me, New England looks like a playoff team. They're playing very good football Mac Jones. They're young, rookie quarterback gets better and better every week. He's the real deal. Against the browns Mac Jones. What a great performance. Efficient, clean, really high level play, he was 19 for 23, with a 198 yards and three touchdowns, the Patriots have found the replacement to Tom Brady. It was not Jimmy Garoppolo as he probably thought it would be a couple years ago for Bill Belichick. But now they have Mac Jones and it is a home run. He's fantastic..

"Josh Rosen and Josh Allen, and their rookie year were very, very similar. Like Josh Allen was not a world beater during year one in Buffalo. And it took him a while, but now Josh Allen is an MVP candidate. So stay pat, it's okay, be patient. Because now you have, I thought on Sunday Night, Josh Allen, outplayed Patrick Mahomes. Let Trey Lance develop the same way that Josh Allen was given time to develop in Buffalo. Be patient, let it give it time because if you do, I think Trey Lance can develop into a star quarterback who dominates in the NFL, the same way you have Josh Allen and Justin Herbert playing very, very well. Just be patient if you're a 49er fan. And number ten, the Chargers beat the browns 47 to 42, and first of all, this is a game that in the past under a different head coach and with a different quarterback. The Chargers would have lost. Like, two years ago, Philip Rivers, Anthony Lynn, the Chargers would have lost in a close game like this. And then two years ago, Cleveland, they would have got blown out 47 to 14, like Cleveland. Think about how far LA in Cleveland have come. But chargers are a better organization. I think Cleveland's come even farther. We're Cleveland was just a terrible, terrible organization. And there are three and two, they've got the Cleveland Browns fans were very disappointed. They lost his game. Fair enough. You get to be disappointed. But I will say, don't forget how far you have come. It's really cool to see the browns even being competitive at all. Let alone almost beating probably the best team at AFC. That's fantastic. Both teams are now heavyweights in the AFC. I would love to see a matchup like a rematch, I guess of LA and Cleveland in the playoffs later. That would be a very, very fun divisional round game or an AFC title game between Cleveland and LA, the Chargers and browns would be really, really fun to see. I mean, I'll take Justin Herbert against anybody in the AFC title game would be a blast. Now it's a bit weird I see people, especially browns fans, blaming their quarterback Baker Mayfield for this loss. And.

"That. Jimmy Garoppolo makes it a perfect scenario where they've got a veteran quarterback who's decent who they like who they trust to has one of my games for them. And it allows Trey Lance to develop properly and not be rushed into duty too early. And I am all in on one thing. I totally have confidence that when Trey Lance after he develops a little bit more, is going to be amazing. He is going to be one of the guys we talk about the same way we talk about Josh Allen. And Justin Herbert Trey Lance is that kind of guy. And I could not feel better about what the forty-niners have done by drafting him. Now the saints. I would play Jameis Winston and make that my starting quarterback if I was Sean Payton head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Jameis Winston is capable of more. He's got a higher ceiling. He's very explosive as a quarterback. We saw that in the preseason on Monday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Taysom Hill, there are other quarterback. I've said this all along is just not the long term answer. He's very average. He's got a weaker arm. He's an okay decision maker. I don't know. I just Jameis, I'm not, I don't know that Taysom Hill. In fact, I'll tell you what Taysom Hill is not the long-term answer for New Orleans. Jameis Winston just might be if you give him a true opportunity. And he made some throws, Jameis did against Jacksonville where you're like, how is this even a competition? And everyone pretty much wants Jameis to win the job. We all think he will. Because we all saw the potentially had when he led the NFL in passing, he had 33 touchdown passes. Now, the problem was 33 touchdown passes and three zero, 30 interceptions, that can not happen. But we all assume a good coach can solve that. And the saints have a good coach with Sean Payton. He said Drew Brees his career. So I'll just tell you now, I would start Jameis Winston and I'd make that my guy and keep your eye on that story as it develops. I would go with Jameis Winston. By the way, the saints young receiver Marquez Callaway had a great game. He had two touchdowns. He had this incredible one handed touchdown catch. Well-being guarded by the Jaguar's expensive corner shat Griffin. I was like, oh my goodness, that's a big place. So keep your eye on Mark west Callaway. That's apparently a guy who is a bigger name than I even realized. Now finally, let's talk about the Jaguars young rookie quarterback. Trevor Lawrence. I'll be honest, I'm worried. I don't feel good. And Trevor looks good. Let me be clear about that. Trevor Lawrence is awesome, looks phenomenal, very good gun quarterback. He had one for a particular where he was rolling left. He made a tough throw moving left up with touch over a defender into the receiver's hand. It's a perfect throw. It was great..

"And so I love to see you, man. I find myself rooting for Aaron Rodgers and I never, ever thought I would say that I look at Aaron what he's doing, how he's handling things and I go, that's really, really cool. He's making the best of a really, really tough situation. Now, I want to acknowledge something because people always tell me, you got to watch the pat McAfee, Aaron Rodgers interviews. And I was always skeptical of those because pat McAfee is friends with Aaron Rodgers. To me, that's two friends talking. And I watched some of them, there were really no hard questions being asked. And I was like, well, this isn't an interview. No one's pushing against Aaron saying, I would have said, hey, why are you glaring at people? What's going on there? And I would have not have attacked him, but I said, hey, is that your leadership style? What's going on there? Those questions were never asked, not always drove me nuts. But Peter king's article was a turning point for me. Peter king is an NFL reporter that I very much respect. He's objective he's fair. I trust everything he says. I trust his approach. And that article he wrote really changed my perspective, opened my mind, and I always try to be fair, I always try to be honest. Even though I have been harsh on Aaron before, I hope you know, like I never was trying to be unfair. I just had this perspective. And honestly, Aaron has really won me over. If you listen to what he's saying, if you listen to messages putting out his energy, everything, Aaron is just I can't say it any better. He's won me over. I'm rooting for him. I hope it does well. And I never in a million years thought I'd be saying that. All right guys, my name is Zach schmaler. I'm going to take a short break when I return. We're going to review quarterback performances from preseason week.

"So it's very likely that Josh rose and is actually going to make the team and get a chance to stay there for the full season. The other cool thing is that he gets an opportunity to sit and learn behind Matt Ryan who is someone that coming out of the NFL Draft in 2018, everybody compared Josh Rosen to mat everyone said he's the next Matt. The prototype is Matt Ryan. And so I think to sit there, develop behind Matt Ryan's awesome. And to be clear, this is the last opportunity Josh rotors, and it's probably ever going to get in the NFL. He has not been able to stay in a roster for whatever reason. And what's weird is there's no like, would Dwayne Haskins got cut by Washington. You heard all kinds of stories like, wow, he's doing this off the field and that off the field. We haven't heard that from Josh Rosen. All we know is that he hasn't been effective enough for teams to want to keep him. So this is the last opportunity for Josh Rosen, but it actually might be the best one he's ever had where he doesn't need to play immediately. There's no expectation of him. And it's pretty likely he's going to make the roster and also can learn behind a really good quarterback, so I find myself hoping that Josh Rosen could turn his career around. Maybe salvage it to some degree. And I really do believe there's a story developing there in Atlanta where maybe something might happen down the road. With Josh Rosen. Okay, this will be fun. Let's talk about Green Bay. I have completely changed my mind about the Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. I have never really been a very big fan of the guy. I've criticized his leadership. I've talked about things I don't like this, and that but I have to admit Aaron has won me over. The more I listen, the more here what he's saying, I like the messages he's putting out. In fact, someone on Instagram made a joke. They said Zack gets like you're playing an uno reverse card. And I guess they're kind of right, because when my perspective now was that Aaron is handling a situation that he really doesn't want to be in, but he's handling it very, very well. He did a really great sideline interview during their week two preseason game against the New York Jets. And my takeaway from this interview is this is a different errand than I've ever seen before. He's gracious. He's patient, totally at peace. Above the drama, like he's trying to be the bigger person and it shows. He said a lot. He said, I tried to work on my mental health and I believe him now. And I believe him when he says it's unfortunate that all the drama came out on draft day. I kind of go, okay, it kind of makes sense. I think he doesn't want to deal with this. I think it really just wants to keep his head down, play quarterback and enjoy his life. And the way he's winning the situation in my mind is by just killing with kindness. He's just going to be, hey, say whatever you want about me, I'm going to be myself, and that's all I can do. And I'm going to be gracious and kind and genuine and patient and look, I'm a person. People call me Aaron Rodgers hater all the time. And for someone like me who doesn't like him and as no incentive to like Aaron at all, I'm not a fan..

"And when you have a plethora of players on abundance and too many of something, trade in one of them away, get something back in return, it makes total sense to me. And the reason why the rams got Sony Michelle for so cheap is because he's never had an amazing breakout year. All he's really ever shown is potential. To show, he could be great if only this happened. And that happened. And the rams are banking on the fact that they can get everything out of him that they can help him reach his potential in LA. I'd love to see that that'd be awesome, but I think this is a great trade for both sides. The Patriots got something in return for Sony Michelle, rather than cutting running back getting nothing back. And the rams got a running back who hopefully can be a key focal point helping them achieve their goal of winning a Super Bowl. Now, one other thought is remember the Patriots drafted Sony Michelle back in 2018. Was that a waste? That's the other kind of question that comes up in this, and what you call it. In this narrative here. And so yes, probably the Patriots should have drafted running back Nick Chubb rather than sending the show. Remember, Nick Chubb got drafted like three or four picks later by the Cleveland Browns. And Nick Chubb has been much, much better throughout the NFL throughout the NFL process. But here's the thing. Sony Michelle helped the Patriots win a Super Bowl. And so it's kind of like, oh, come on. You can be mad, but he did contribute to them winning a Super Bowl. And things could have been far worse. Yes, was he hurt too often? Did he underachieve absolutely? But he also didn't completely fail. He wasn't an absolute bust. And I think any patriots fans who were complaining about, oh, we traded him away. We didn't get enough for him. It's like, well, you want a Super Bowl. Be grateful, be happy, move on. You got a guy who contributed. And you got something back for him in return rather than cutting him, which if you try to trade away Nikhil Harry, you may not get anything in return. So the narrative that Sony Michel was a wasted pick by the Patriots. Was it not the best pick? Absolutely. Was it a wasted pick? It wasn't that either. Now, let's shift to Denver because the Denver Broncos have named teddy Bridgewater. They're starting quarterback. And I am sweating bullets. It's really hot in here. It's kind of weird. We're in the middle of the city. I'm pretty sure my neighbors can hear me underneath me. And it's hot. It's basically outside. There's no AC in this room. And there's no like none other windows are sealed. So I can see through a lane right outside and it's just hot, it's pouring in like crazy. Anyway, I want to shift to Denver because the Denver Broncos have named teddy Bridgewater, their starting quarterback. He's won the job over the starting quarterback they had last year drew lock. And I got two minds about this. On one hand, it's kind of weird, I go, um, the quarterback battle was closer than I thought it would have been..

"Who's the focal point of whatever the league investigation is? And the NFL has not done that to this point. And, according to Rusty Hardin, the reason they're not doing that is because there are all these other criminal investigations that are going on, and the NFL's investigators don't want to trip up. Criminal investigation. So, according to Rusty Harden, the NFL's is going to take a back seat and say once the criminal proceedings play out, and those are concluded, that's when we'll finish our investigation into Shawn Watson end At least from what rusty hardness suggesting. That's why this you know, he really hasn't landed on the commissioner's exempt list at this point, because they have not finished the totality of their investigation and won't until everything else runs. Of course. I mean, no way Am I trying to make light of this? But who would have ever thought that being under a criminal investigation and multiple probes might actually benefit the player right? But weirdly I mean, could that be a good thing if he wants to play this year because of all that? Well, it keeps them keeping them on the rock. You know, to keep them on the field. He's not set aside and You know if if it takes the criminal investigations Through the 2021 season. And Rusty Hardin is correct in that, you know the leaks not going to act on this until they can sit down with the Shawn Watson. Then that means that they're not going to sit down with him anytime soon. You know the longer that the criminal investigation takes Takes place, And that's exactly it's weird. Just this weird twist where, um, the inability or the lack of motivation on the NFL's part to conclude this with the Shawn Watson prior Is something going on? You know something concluding in the criminal realm. Leaves it open ended for him. So you know, the Houston, Texas. It puts the Houston, Texas in a place for the like. Look, The league's not going to act here, and they're not going to essentially, um, you know, set them to the side with pay. It's paid leave. That's really what the commissioner's exempt list is. If they're not going to do that, and the Texans have to make a decision here, either they're going to stated to Sean Lawson. Okay. Okay. Your fourth quarterback or third quarterback or however we wrangle the depth chart, and we're going to carry around in the 53 Man roster all season long. And you're not going to play or they're going to trade him or they're going to have to come up with. You know some other element of a resolution here or we're going to continue to see what we're seeing now, which is to Sean lots and walking out and practice fields. Not doing anything. It seems like this is becoming a more dejected experience for him as it goes on, you know, the last time he was out there Separated himself from the team. Um, you know, it clearly looks like there's more and more space growing between him and not just the coaches, but also the players, Charles Robinson and joining us. I appreciate your thoughts in the work. You've done that story. Listen before you go. I want to ask you about something because I've been given a lot of thought to this and I really honestly cannot get my head around it. I can't quite figure it out and you addressed it on your part to win the game. You were discussing the status in the future of Josh Rosen. Now, at one point when he was at U C L A. There was talk that he would be the first pick overall. How do you explain what has happened to him and the fact that it has happened so quickly, and it keeps happening? I It's kind of a mystery. I mean, for the for the element of talent that he has, and I don't think there's any question that You know, coming in, everyone I spoke to, you know, leading it to the draft. Only, you know, three years ago, um, looked at him and said, Hey, you know, natural stroke. Um, he's got you know the element of what you need in terms of, you know the right element of cockiness to be a quarterback in this league. You know plenty of tools to work with he can. You know we can move. He's not just somebody who's dead in the pocket. Um, I would have thought that that would have been enough to keep him on an NFL roster. Particularly You know his first two stops, You know, you would think one of those themes he was stuck with, but now to be through three teams this quickly and then out of the league, um, particularly in the last two teams are the 40 Niners with Kyle Shanahan loves to work with. Any quarterback has got any element of talent. And then Bruce Arians with the Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Same deal. Look at verses resume. He's dealt with all manner of quarterbacks, tons of talent. Difficult guys to work with that times, trying situations And yet these are both. You know, coaches that cut Josh Rosen loose and remember, he doesn't cost anything. You didn't really cost anything for either of those teams. And yet, you know, both situations. Off it to to not, you know, keep them around and develop my it's Inexplicable to me, you know that he's honestly get this point. I'm sure he'll get another opportunity. Quarterbacks always do, particularly ones with talent. But, um, it's just when you break down that draft and you look at all the guys that were taken. Baker Mayfield, Sam Donald You know Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson. Just wouldn't have thought Rosen would be a guy would be out of the you know out of the league..

And Rusty Hardin is correct in that, you know the leaks not going to act on this until they can sit down with the Shawn Watson. Then that means that they're not going to sit down with them anytime soon. You know the longer that the criminal investigation takes Takes place, And that's exactly it's weird. Just this weird twist where, um, the inability or the lack of motivation on the NFL's part to conclude this with the Shawn Watson prior Is something going on? You know something concluding in the criminal Grell Mom. Leaves it open ended for him. So you know, the Houston, Texas. It puts the Houston Texas in a place where the like, Look, The league's not going to act here, and they're not going to essentially, um, you know, set them to the side with pay paid leave. You know, some other element of a resolution here or we're going to continue to see what we're seeing now, which is to Sean lock walking out and practice field. Not doing anything. It seems like this is becoming a more dejected experience for him as it goes on, you know, the last time he was out there Separated himself from the team. Um, you know, it clearly looks like there's more and more space growing between him and not just the coaches, but also the players. Charles Robinson joining us. I appreciate your thoughts in the work. You've done that story. Listen before you go. I want to ask you about something because I've been given a lot of thoughts of this and I really honestly cannot get my head around it. I can't quite figure it out and you addressed it on your part to win the game. You were discussing the status in the future of Josh Rosen. Now, at one point when he was at U C L A. They always talk that he would be the first pick overall. How do you explain what has happened to him and the fact that it has happened so quickly, and it keeps happening? I, It's kind of a mystery. I mean, for the for the element of talent that he has, and I don't think there's any question that You know, coming in, everyone I spoke to, you know, leading it to the draft. Only three years ago, um, looked at him and said Hey, you know, natural stroke. Particularly You know his first two stops, You know, you would think one of those teams he was stuck with, but now to be through three teams this quickly and then out of the league, um, particularly in the last two teams are the 40 Niners with Kyle fan and loves to work with. Off it to to not, you know, keep them around and developing my it's Inexplicable to me, you know that he's Honestly get this point. I'm sure he'll get another opportunity. Quarterbacks always do, particularly ones with talent. But, um, it's just when you break down that draft and you look at all the guys that were taking Baker Mayfield, Sam Donald You know Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson. Just wouldn't have thought Rosen would be a guy would be out of the you know out of the league..

"It was a fun morning at 1 15 Bourbon Street. Annabelle Roda, who we work with, and her great band, the noise getting everybody in the mood bright and early with some rock n roll starting at, like, seven a.m.. That was great. Okay on the stage for the final should be on the A. C. D. C. Shook me all night long, Great shot. I mean, really, I could name everybody at the station that had a hand in things behind the scenes like What Rachel and Jestin Travis and our marketing department. Fantastic. Just sent up was great. It was great Merck. Good work by you facilitating everything. And Meller and hoodie and Feel doing the cap. I'm seeing it happens. Captain, his white pants Captain Stubing showed up. He was going on a boat. I think afterwards we did some gambling talk. It was great to have Luke Burgundian and Epstein, our buddies from prop swap there. I was just I mean, it really was great. It was nice to See people and talk sports talk bears taco fantasy White Sox baseball A lot of people talking about the socks. Of course. That was after the thrilling win Friday Council thrilling on Saturday and Sunday. Jericho with a little levity with the chicken joke that kick us off your co always provides good levity. The joke with your coz joke was fantastic. I really dug that one. The corn prevents us from telling the joke. It's not even that bad guy. Not too bad, but not a bad joke. I just you know, I bordered every edge. If there were, you know any Children's in the Presence, or, you know some ladies that happen to be at the event. You know, I didn't want to go too far over board. But it was certainly a double in tender tender. Yes, double and tender. So it had multiple meanings. And the old guy figured it out right away. It was really good. I'm going to use that. I'm stealing that. Would your Yeah. Go ahead. Just a joke. Don't can't go wrong with that one. It was really a fun day. So, uh, Glad we got to pull it off all things considered, and we'll see again next year for something fun in August, then, thanks to Miller Lite and all of our other great sponsors. That Janice Motorcycle was pretty awesome. That was there. We all took pictures on that thing and Rental housing, Automotive. Three key Menards and Hooters. Let's go back out to the phone jerk. All right. J has been waiting a little while. Jay's an ESPN without what's up, buddy? There's some guys, how are you? Good. How you doing? Yeah. Good. I think this is like quite easy. It's the same way when they approach the draft. They were third clock was about out of time. Or the only way that we knew that time is even the quarterback. They bought themselves like, probably at least three years with fields, but that clock doesn't start until he until he plays. So if they can prolong him to come up with excuses, this is why it is that any dollars start over him. They will, no matter what it comes out to the publicly. I just feel like they're still concerned and I truly don't know how good a coach Nagy is. I know I liked him in the beginning, but If they let us go two years and he does, he turns Fields in the midst of whiskey. That's going to be terrible. He really is probably the best quarterback tomorrow's draft. He is Russell Wilson back when Russ was drafted, I hope so. I know J. Maybe self preservation mode is what's happening up there, and that's why they'll wait on him. Maybe you can make an argument that it's actually better. If he I don't know. Maybe it's it's a tough when you start. You never know, don't play. I don't know car if they don't allow them to play gay, and then he plays in his second year, and it becomes success. They're going to say it was because we rested them that first year Yeah. Where, as opposed to if this turns into an absolute disaster this year with Andy Dalton, Um We're all going to be saying, Why didn't you play anyway? If it was going to be a dam disaster, so If he comes out, and then all of a sudden he's a failure after not playing a year and then in his first year, he's terrible. Which I don't think it's going to happen. It just it sets up for them that look like they're the brains if they don't plan Mhm. And nobody thinks their brains right now Nobody's going to say Ryan Pace has got something going on and are Matt Nagy. Baltimore Big question marks in this league right now, Chuck's in Phoenix on ESPN, 1000 and Chuck Yeah. Hey, car me your girlfriend. Big fans of guys. Thank you, buddy. Thank you. Hey, for the love of God. Mike Thomas. Can we get more common York instead of green? Thank you. Uh, I wanted to say that I think just don't see how the big offensive guru doesn't see that Just appeals makes it seem a whole lot better. I said a lot of times you actually referred back to Kansas City days, but I think it's uh, Mihos with started his pressure they might have with Hmm. Yeah. Who knows they could have, Chuck. Thanks, buddy. We appreciate your calling and listening. The thing that I just don't get like Just don't get the argument that we have to see Andy in the regular season like I could almost buy it. If Andy weren't the quarterback, it was someone less experienced, like, Let's say I'll give you just a different scenario. York. Okay, let's say the Bears in the off season instead of acquiring Andy Dalton acquired Josh Rosen, all right. Josh Rosen got cut again. I mean, I don't know that Josh Rosen ever going to play in the NFL would probably can't write. But like, Let's say that was the move in March and then okay, the draft happens and Oh, my God, they got Justin Fields. Like if, after week two after Saturday. Matt Nagy went to the podium and he was like, guys, look We got to see Josh in the regular season like you, kid that argument. I could buy more than we got to see Andy Dalton. Like maybe in their world. They know they can untapped something that nobody else in two very brief stints. In other Stops in the league couldn't untapped in terms of Josh Rosen to say it about a guy that has started almost 150 games in the NFL is crazy talk. That's all it is. It doesn't make any sense. I didn't try to understand what level of excellence are they going to get out of him? Exactly Your you know that that is exactly going to throw the world. I mean, it's going to be, um it's going to happen. It's going to be competent is the way you would describe it. That's competent. That's it. Yeah, it's going to. I got news for Matt Nagy, like Does he really need us to tell them this? Here's the breaking news, Matt If you don't know what you're going to get. We're going to tell you you're going to get Andy Dalton. You're going to get us somewhat competent quarterback That's probably going to be about 500. Yeah. Can you there? You're going to get a quarterback with a quarterback rating of 88. Do you really need us to tell you that you don't know to 82 to 88 car? Okay, 80 to 80 82 to 88. That's what you're going to get guys. It's not in year 12. It's not going to be Some different kind of magic. It's not.

"This'll week in the PGA Tour makes its next stop on CBS, where some of golf's Bast included the top ranked player in the world. Dustin Johnson, along with Justin Thomas and Brooks kept step on the course of the Valspar championship. Live coverage begins Saturday and Sunday. Three eastern 12 Pacific only on See me. Oh, oh, giraffe time. Oh, draft time tomorrow. The NFL draft tomorrow night begins at eight. P.m. Eastern time. We will have first in the morning reaction. So be here for that First morning reaction on Friday morning. To be here and we will break it all down Friday morning by the way tomorrow. We will have Daniel Jeremiah join us here on the show. So Daniel Jeremiah is one of the best. He's on NFL network. He's gonna drop on by to break things down today. Charles Davis NFL Network's gonna join us. We're all over. The NFL draft and have been For many, many weeks now, now the best offensive lineman in this draft. His pin a school from Oregon, and I don't know more as how much you pay attention to Variables or the Numbers. The combine numbers, etcetera. You're big Combine guy, No combine this year, but I was just Doing some research search the other day on the NFL draft. I had to take note of the size of Panay Sewell. Today. Sul stands at 6 6.5. He weighs in at £331. How would I describe that? He's built like a farmhouse. This guy is enormous. And you think about today's NFL. Today, Soul is 66 or 673 30. It might not be a top five pick in the draft. This is how dominant the quarterback position is. And this is how Furiously. Teams look for offensive help. I'm sorry Quarterback help because Trevor Lawrence is going to go. One likely. Zach Wilson's gonna to go to likely a quarterback goes three to the San Francisco 40 Niners and everybody figures. The number four If someone doesn't trade up into that pick for a quarterback that you're looking to Kyle pitch coming off the board at a Florida so today, Sue is likely to be the fifth pick or worse in this traffic again. There's no Worry, and there's no embarrassment or apology needed for getting drafted 567, But the guy's an Outland Trophy winner. Ah, unanimous all American first team all Pac 12. Has played in multiple big bowl games played for a power conference. A power team in a power conference is 663 30. Has great footwork and is built like off farmhouse. And he's not even a top five pick of the draft. This year's that amazing? Yeah, we go back to the 2014 draft. I believe it was that we were at where was just offensive line Heavy. Might have been 2013. I have to double check that. Most years, I would say, honestly said this most years if it wasn't for a Trevor, Lord's coming out specifically, you're talking about penny soul. If there was no opt out because he didn't play last year, cause the Koven That's a guy where he's probably going first or second overall in a draft and you have this much love affair of quarterbacks and a freakish talent like Kyle pits and have him slide of the top five in a league by the way. Where the biggest issue I think on the field is that offensive line play has slipped so dramatically hurting these offenses. People should be tripping over themselves to get penny. So on your right is my father's top five. I think, though, that this is gonna be a trend now in the NFL, and it's always been a bit of a trend where the quarterbacks are pushed up the board. You know, people tend to say that there's two board there's the regular Prospect Porter. Then there's the quarterback board, where Trevor Laurence might be the best quarterback in the draft. But let's just say Zach Wilson is the He's the best prospect of the trapper would go number two. I think this is going to be a future. I really do. I just think that from now on, you're going to see quarterbacks. The best quarterbacks are gonna be the first 2 to 3 picks every single year. I don't know if we'll ever get back to a place where offensive linemen would go 12 or three or pass rushers, don't you think? Because everybody is so dire. For better quarterback. And maybe even the Niners were good example. They have a guy that just was good enough to bring them to a Super Bowl, and they traded two draft picks to get up to get his replacement. The Rams had a guy I'd bring them to the Super Bowl in Jared Goff. They couldn't wait to trade draft picks to go get Matthew Stafford. I got a feeling I got a feeling that from draft from here on out Not gonna be best prospect is just gonna best quarterbacks and 123 and then best prospect. After that. I leaned with you on this until this week. Here would be the caveat today because we're going to get into breaking down all these quarterbacks later in the show. What if five quarterbacks go in the top 10 or so which we think could happen if you consider all the top five and really only Trevor Laurence pans out, leave these on the table. The other four guys bust out. Wouldn't that be a cautionary tale for other teams going up that you don't need the necessary trip over yourself Just because you need a quarterback, and we need to make sure we get the quarterbacks Couldn't it always go back the other way? If guys are frequently busting to not should it should be cautionary tales. But every year there's going to be a GM or a head coach that feels like they're better quarterbacking away from a Super Bowl or keeping their job. I mean, look at what the Bears have done. They kept the same guys in place. But I mean, how many chances is Ryan Pace get to figure out the quarterback position every year. It's okay. Travis. He's not the guy. Let's bring in falls. Okay. They're not the guys. Let's bring in Andy Dalton had they had a high draft pick, They would have used it on a quarterback. I think this is gonna become the norm, where Niners didn't win the Super Bowl, so let's find a better quarterback. The ramp didn't win the Super Bowl. Let's find a better quarterback The Dolphins. I mean, let's face it. The Cardinals had drafted Josh Rosen, Let's find a better quarterback and Kyla Murray I think that this might just end up being there's no patients. There's no time the Jets just drafted Sam Donald number three Overall, they couldn't wait to get rid of them. We're gonna move on..

Is he putting pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo? Quarterback controversy. Question Mark and club. Does he get a ring for being on the practice? What? Why not? I don't know. Do you have to stay on the practice squad Told you Josh Rosen was in which way I should be Hey, helps out in practice would have said that Josh Rose is gonna end up with a Super Bowl ring before any of those other quarterbacks. He'd be the first guy in that class. That would be amazing. Uh, let me get a good start of the day. I first got to win a Super Bowl ring in that last Thanksgiving. I was 21. After the hour. "If you're to a second team to be second to you, how are you treated right? So just like Josh Rosen way know nothing about Josh Rosen, seriously. Nothing other than he played in a horrible, horribly coached and a horribly constructed Arizona team. Got a everybody have fired You got a new coach got bounced goes to Miami. He had no chance of really playing. They're playing a couple of games. They were bad anyway. Horrible And so it's like he's just nothing like he's in limbo where, but there's more film. There's more tape on to where he played, you know, stretch of 6 71 of your games, So I think I could have some value but my point, But my point is, if he leaves now, Miami after one year you're in. You're in uncharted waters. Man like there's no loyalty to you because it's not the team that drafted you. Yes, it's just you're you're kind of stuck here at the whims of someone's emotions about you on a given month or week or whatever it may be, and they decide that. Yeah. You know, we don't really like you way can afford to move off from because we didn't pay your signing bonus. We just have you know the remainder of your working contract, which is minimal, by the way, Um, and we'll and we'll bounce you after a couple years, so it's It's not good for two. Uh if he gets moved It could be good for the Houston Texans, because they have the option Tosto and see if he's going to be that guy, but because I like him, or I mean, I love the kid, but because I believe in him a little less than you. I'm not again. I'm answering this from the purview of Texans. So I'm not that doesn't interest me as much. I'll tell you what I really the more I think about this We're is what I would do. Would the most appealing spot that I confined myself in knowing that I now have to trade the shore. Watson, I have to. All right. I want to be in the number two slot. I want to know that once Trevor lords goes the Jaguars if I love fields or if I love Wilson, whomever I love I want to. I don't wanna have to pick the leftovers off. Like if the Jets take Wilson and I'm stuck, quarter quote stuck with fields or vice versa. I want to control that entirely. So here's what I would do, I would say All right, jets, All right, Joe Douglas. We both know he wants to come and play for you. I don't want sand, Donald. So we both know that you can spin sand Donald and maybe get a third round pick or fourth with a projective. He does. Well, third row. Whatever it is s O. Take Donald and trade him somewhere else. Okay, seriously, don't want Sam. Give me the number two Pick. Give me next year. Seattle's first round pick. Give me another first round pick and and we go from there at least now. I fill the void left from some bad trades because they don't have any first round picks this year or next year. So I fill that void and I immediately start the clock fresh on a quarterback that I love to me. That's the best thing to do. You have to lose to shore Watson. And it's criminal that it's gotten to this point, but it has. So you may as well Yeah, evolving and deal with it. I want to pick a quarterback that I'm in love with. Not in like with. And whoever that is for me Exact Wilson over you know that. I like him over fields. They might think differently. Fields might be a star Wilson might be a bust that might change the entire trajectory. And you get other multiple ones from the Jets. Yeah, I don't want to. And I don't want Donald. Yeah, There's a lot. I mean it, Z It's really dicey. With second hand. I had to position them this way. But this is it is what it is. That was secondhand supposed to be great quarterbacks. It's really it gets really dicey. Um, until Sam Donaldson. That's position, too. Is is working his way into that position if he doesn't have a exponential growth in in this season, this coming season, But we won't know what hit me. That's just speculation at this point. We have no idea. Um, but it's really hard. To take someone else's supposed to have been great quarterback and make them into a good quarterback. It's just hard. It doesn't happen very often. Yeah, I mean, I don't know that they would go down this road. I certainly wouldn't. But are they under some false illusion? Where You know, I mean, there's Matt Ryan satisfy them that that would be ridiculous. Because Matthew Stafford sounds like I don't think that that's why I'm like. Yeah, I wouldn't know what I'm saying. Maybe. Are they thinking that salvage something with the fan base? I don't know. I don't see that. I hope not. But look how bad they've been up until this point, but they think about Think how hard that is. For Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford. Thank you go from a tough situation. It's not, I agree, but that's not the worst into it. That's not the point. Just the Texans. That stinks for Stafford Brian. It's horrible. I don't disagree on that. But again, we preface this with if we're running the Texans, what are we doing? And you're really holding it on the Dolphins and I'm holding on the Jets with the with the caveat. I don't want Donald and you have you trade him somewhere else, and you can find a middle round pick or whatever it is, and you can kind of restock your cupboards on somebody else's time. But I gotta draft somebody that I'm in love with and you know, I kind of think that that's the way it's going to go. I would be so I wouldn't rule it out. But I would be surprised if it's not the Jets or put it this way. I think it's like 85 90%. It's the Jets or the Dolphins. Decent number. You work with me on that 100% of probably more than that, bt Okay. Let's get the update for Mac will help with the blast right after that Bridge Ackerman's update Right now. Here he is. See me? Yes. "You thought that guy was gonna get it done for you Now, maybe that's hindsight being perfectly clear. But it feels like they finally have gotten it right from the coaching staff to the front office of the You know, they all the free agent moves that they made this last year. The culture feels right. They make a move on to, uh, because they saw his his excellence and national championship capabilities and colleges skill as a thrower and is in his just his presence. Look when you can't really took you took his first nap of the season. Everybody was happy for me and the guy whose job he was taking. You know what I mean? He's one of the greatest. He's degrees. A great young man doesn't mean that he's the future quarterback for the Dolphins to lead him to anything big, But I don't doesn't mean that he's not. I don't think replacing him after in less than a year is fair to him. Well, this is not the Josh Rosen situation. Right. Josh Rosen is the example that people toss up now getting drafted at number 10 by the Arizona Cardinals and then moving on from a different another year. But that was a whole different staff and Josh Rosen, you know, probably was a little bit inflated. No. What I mean, maybe too was inflated. Um, I can't say that because I saw too a beat. He was unbelievable in college. So Josh Rosen do stuff with nothing around them is unbelievable. He was a bad team around. He was inconsistent. Wasn't nothing around. Two of the two was consistent. And can you put Josh Rosen on Bama? Come? I don't know. I don't know if Josh Rosen would've fit in the culture Obama. Well, maybe that's a different discussion, but and I think it's part of it. That's what a quarterback has to be. You know what I mean his money. He has to be that guy to mount a defense for Josh Rosen to get the football training camp next year. Freddie I'm not going to, but Just you're the fact that the Cardinals did it. And while you point out it's different and edit is different staff. I get it very, I understand, But they also have an extra draft pick because of that, Tunsil because of the trade that they made. They now allow themselves If there's ever worry they should they like they are serendipitously stepping into possibly a situation where they almost can't not draft a quarterback if you're not sold on to us, and you and you do have a playoff team, and they do because they're good everywhere except really a quarterback right now they're good. Um, you might not be drafting third again, conceivably for a decade. So why would you not if you love one of those guys take the swing. Yeah, it's always got to go back in case. Well, here's my point is my As you know the conversation there the the statement. Okay, If you're going to get rid of him, then what? Right the then what I'm not convinced on unless it's Trevor Laurence. That's that's my I got you there. Now, if you're gonna take your other first round pick and maybe your second round pick to impair with your number three pick that you got From the from the Houston Texans and go to number one. Okay. That's a different conversation. Okay, this Aiken by because that's different from to me, that's more tangible, like There's more evidence of the guys in college. Then you're not sold on. Okay which I get. Then there is the guy that some are willing to hit your franchise to at the pro level with nine games. I mean, now, if you want to trade to order to Jackson Jaguars and Plus your two picks, I don't think the Jaguars want him..

"Tomorrow. With the playoff games they have see lot of different teams can actually make the playoffs. It's wide open. But my question for you guys is who has the most pressure on them. They're five teams. That conceivably could get one of four spots, so somebody's gonna get left off. So going into week 17. You could argue, All five of these teams have pressure because if they don't make it, they're the one team out. But not making the playoffs will be a bigger deal for some teams than the others. So when I say Ravens, Browns, Dolphins, Titans and Colts Joe, I'll start with you. Which of those teams do you think has the most pressure on them and has the most riding on week 70. No one's going to agree with it because they've been playing well, and they have a cakewalk set up in week 17. But the pressure's on Baltimore Baltimore can't make the can't miss the playoffs. They absolutely have to get to the postseason. They went 14 into last year They had the M V P a quarterback and Lamar Jackson and they flamed out in their first playoff game. Find it happens, but you got to come back the next year. With a loaded team. They made the deal for Janek and Doc Way, Cally is Campbell. They beat this team up, and then they had that stumble and because they've been playing well the last few weeks because they have Cincinnati on Sunday everyone's looking at is a foregone conclusion, so no one would answer. Baltimore has the most pressure, but it's absolutely Baltimore because of Baltimore blew it tomorrow. And Tennessee wins. Miami wins Cleveland wins in Indianapolis wins all conceivable based on the point spreads in the match ups and Baltimore Mrs Think about what the narrative is on Monday regarding John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson in their future, So Baltimore would be my answer. They've got the most pressure going into the game tomorrow. Myron, Do you agree with that? I think they're on the list for sure. And what you're bringing up to is, you gotta figure out you're gonna pay Lamar Jackson and all of this could factor into that, whether you play him now or if you play him at some point Down the line, Matt. So that'll be the challenge there. I think the Dolphins are actually under the most pressure. I think they're the team. That you're looking at it going, Okay? How does this all play out, and it's for a few reasons. To, uh, is coming into a situation where he's got to lead this team into the playoffs without Fitzpatrick. And Brian Floors, has said repeatedly that Fitzpatrick plays the role of a relief pitcher comes into that Raiders game wins it for him. He's the guy that's right there in case to a can't get the job done. That's how he set this whole thing up. Now. Fitz is out because of covert. So too has to lead this team to victory. What happens Matt? If to a struggles and the struggles mightily and now you don't make the playoffs. Now you gotta make a decision about Fitch. Do you bring him back and have a real quarterback competition? Or do you let somebody else Pam and just buy into trip to us, But here's another element in that whole conversation with the Dolphins. They'll probably have the number three pick Matt Number three is nothing if you don't have a guy there that you don't like. But what if Justin Fields for whatever reason is there? What if Zach Wilson for whatever reason is there when you really like him? Who was great, But what we saw with Justin Fields could make a team like the Dolphins go. You know what your good that guy's better. So there's a lot of things to me that could affect what we see tomorrow in this Dolphins game. Yeah, that I think you're you're getting way ahead of yourself. If you think there's a possibility they could go away from to a in the draft. I mean, this has been I haven't seen necessarily something that says it's gonna be great, but it's not like a Josh. Rosen situation. We just know that's not the guy and so when Collar Murray comes, you take him. That's not here is admiring. I don't think it's the Josh Rosen situation, but it is one where your head coaches said that we think, too, was good. But we got this veteran behind them to come in and actually help us close. But that's what Fitzpatrick is that veteran that you go to that. He's always that guy. Yeah, that's not gonna help you trust your quarter and know your tool right now, man. Do you feel like your quarterback? As you would argue your coach? I would argue if you're too If it's not being able to play helps you tomorrow because you know you're not gonna get pulled. I mean, you know it's your game one way or the other. So like it's gonna be up to you one way or the other now the other The other one for me will be the will be the Browns. I mean, for me, they're the team that has the most on the line. Because Joe, if the Browns for some reason don't Make it It's going to be crushing for that city that franchise and for Baker Mayfield because it's been set up for them to make it and now you're going to play your rival and they're not even gonna be trying. So if they somehow lost in a situation where you're basically win, and you're in against your rival, and they are not even trying To me. That is the kind of thing that is hard to get over as a franchise. Because when are you gonna have a year like this again? And a chance like this? Crushing no doubt and specifically crushing in the moment and in the immediate aftermath, But when you take a step back and you look at what the Browns did this season, if for some reason they were to lose tomorrow and miss the playoffs. He still went 10 and six They found a way to go 10 and six They made it change it. Head coach Kevin Stravinsky came in. We have not heard anything about any drama. Anywhere in Cleveland throughout the course of this season. Think about that. They cleaned up the culture at least for a year, and they won 10 games. That is a huge step in the right direction now given the fact that they're here, and they're on the precipice, and they had the Jets game last week, and if they win that they end up getting in, and everything's fine. Ultimately, it would be seen as a disappointment in the moment but Myron the totality of the situation this season, Cleveland's moving in the right direction. They're not a laughing stock. They won 10 games. Regardless, I think you'd sit back in July and look back on this season and say We're moving in the right direction as heartbreaking is missing the playoffs this year would end up being Yeah. I mean, they got the right start. And, more importantly, they have the right coach, which they have met up to say that in a long time, So I think that matters. Matt what? Winning the playoffs. What getting to the playoffs does is it validates? Everything we've seen so far is it makes you go Okay? Yeah, This is a team that rebuilt change the culture, but you get into the playoffs and all of a sudden, it's like you know what? How many pieces are they away from? Maybe compete for Super Bowl like that's what changes the narrative about a team like Cleveland. It also changed the narrative about a guy like Baker Mayfield, who we haven't decided yet if you absolutely have to pay Baker Mayfield, same boat with Lamar Jackson. Other guys around the league. This is where Baker gets paid. This is where he says I'm the guy, not just a fancy. I'm the quarterback moving forward. You can rely on me and trust me going forward into the future. I do think for for these quarterbacks, Maybe not so much for Philip Rivers attainable, but for two uh Baker and Lamar..

Miami Dolphins Draft 2020 – Beefing Up The Defensive Line

"The dolphins coming in with Pick number five. They have a lot of needs to. What are they going to do with that quarterback position? You know what they do. They desperately need a quarter of quarterback. There there's no doubt they they do have. I don't know if this makes you feel any better about their situation. They have Josh Rosen. They have Ryan Fitzpatrick. Are Those guys? You're going to build around probably not. I'm hearing that there's any from Justin. Herbert to to attack overall is going to be there. I think the dolphins are going to surprise a lot of people. They're going to get the unsexy pick here. And they're going to take an offensive lineman out of the first round as well. I wouldn't be that shocked overall. I I could see this team doing it but I keep going back and forth to be quite honest with you of what this what they might do because that quarter quarterback is so important obviously for your franchise as you build but the bottom line is the dolphins have a lot of needs. You know they want to take a quarter. But you know you're hearing you're hearing all this thing about the Wunderlich score you're hearing about the you know. Obviously the injury is there. They have three first rounders. So could they wait a late around and see? What happens to some of these quarterbacks down there or do they just flat out go with a guy that could be more of a sure thing for them at the end? I like Andrew Thomas. The offensive tackle. I think they're gonNA go with the Linemen and the Miami Dolphins fans are GonNa be very upset but this is based on everything that I continue to read. They have sent sent up a lot of smokescreens but I could see them going with an offensive Lineman to say listen. We're we're going to be an interesting spot here either way we go. We're just trying to figure out the next step for us in our rebuild process and a process so I could see this team doing that but I think they go with Andrew. Thomas the tackle out of

The Bears ended an 'especially disappointing' season with an especially disappointing press conference

"Ryan Pace. You're on the clock despite a disappointing season for Mitchell trubisky. The bears announced that he is returning as the team's starter in twenty twenty. There were however some some changes. The team fired four coaches from the offensive staff including offensive coordinator. And then you look at what happened. The last six weeks of the season season. And this is what I think. Gm Ryan Pace has had on you look at the record. Obviously passing yards. Everything improved but dominique. Are you really buying this statement. Because because from my point of view on the outside looking in D- in the Arizona cardinals say you know. What Josh Rosen Guy? By the way Kyla Murray were drafted number. One I'm glad we got Tannenbaum Outta here because in general managers lie that was a general manager generally lying I at least I hope it was because would Mitchell trubisky show like. It's hard to come back with this guy. Considering the way that he performed. I know we got better in part because the coaching around him got better. They started moving out of the pocket and running the ball with a little more. That's encouraging however it's hard to. It's it's impossible to argue that. He's not wildly inaccurate. And that's tough in this league to be wildly inaccurate. Like he is and I

NFL Week 3 Rundown: Green Bay Packers

"Wanted gotta get your take paint on the Green Bay packers. It feels for the second time in as many weeks the offense started like a house on fire Aaron Rodgers with the aggressive play call to lamarcus Valdez Gatling gets them off to a seven nothing lead but yet again the Green Bay offense after the initial script wears off and whether you WanNa call fifteen or thirty plays however mouth the floor structures it it seemed the tail off and there's some real concerns at least for me when I watch the packers that this team either can't make adjustments or there's something going on you look at an offense over the second third and fourth headquarters right now ranking thirty National Football League you know a lot of smoke and mirrors so far but you are three and with a a new head coach a new system a new scheme so you're in a great spot right. It's it's winning while you're learning hopefully and come the middle of the season. You've got not got enough wins and you start to progress a little bit. The opening touchdown there was just Aaron Rodgers being heroic right being smart seeing the guy jump jump-off sides like he does so many times and just air it out and while the scaling just beats his man first quarter green bay average nine yards per play it did tick kick down throughout the rest of the three quarters but in saying that the average one point eight yards per play the Denver did passing wise Green Bay average eight point one yards per pass for the game. Denver just four point six so it was certainly a game they deserve to win. It was a game where they cover the number. Despite some some sharp money on Denver so to me they they obviously exceeded Vegas expectation and I think my expectations -tations while knowing who was on the broncos well the reason I mentioned the packers because we'll have an in-depth free of the packers next game short week when they host to the much-maligned minded banged up Philadelphia Eagles and pain when you look at some of the look ahead numbers here those numbers at the packers listed as a two and a half point favorite Lo and behold you wake up this morning and I know that at number didn't include a cluster injuries Philadelphia dealing with the packers all the way out to a five point favorite moved a little more than this morning yeah yeah it ticked up a shade from four and a half out of the dead zone five okay so you know obviously massive game for the Eagles one in three would would certainly be a surprise half the monitor the situation obviously on that that cluster injury to the receiver core so both alshon Sean Jackson. You're GONNA just have to keep a close eye on that. Whence it's clear he's missed those two guys right. He missed him again this past Sunday the metrics look okay completion percentage not good title right thirteen percent below expectation only better than Josh Rosen for week three but again green bay three now despite having a ton of issues if you can negate that opening script from leflore and Rogers. It seems like you're going to have a pretty good chance here but we'll see what we get from Philadelphia's office defense two lines beaten and battered a little bit. We know about some of the injuries upfront. Cox is also playing through some injuries so interesting the line. Let's see where it goes one that we'll obviously talk about in in really really large detailed because it's Thursday night

"Josh Rosen named the starting quarterback for Miami so he will start for the dolphins against the cowboys on Sunday. I find that interesting considering that number one. It's Rosen's I I start with this franchise after he was traded there from the Arizona cardinals and more importantly you'll remember that Josh Rosen was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals Inside Ride Agent Stadium during the two thousand eighteen. Which college produces the best NFL talent?

"A special edition of N._F._l.. Live on deck today at the N._F._l.. Celebrates one hundred season just six weeks away however we are just five weeks away in college. Football Opens It one hundred fiftieth the anniversary so today welcome N._F._l.. You were combining the two worlds to answer age-old question what college produces the best n._F._l.. Talent however I'm Wendy net sand Hutus here you know what's better to be on this panel our expert notice icy expert telling me when Lewis Minute of her panter on the list not on the House for back the quarterback guru he and his brother in a lot of N._F._l.. Games James A lot and Ryan Clark. You see the L. L._S._U.. They are ills college football. L. Is Jonathan Vilma bike. He will join US shortly. He happened to win a National Championship and Oh by the way a super bowl as well coming up on N._F._l.. Live will break down position by position which college produces the best quarterback Oklahoma has the number one overall pick the last two years we have the top ten plays all the N._F._l.. Superstars when they were in college and answering big question which school produces the best all time N._F._l.. Talent we had to ask the players themselves to kick things off. We're the first pick quarterback Oklahoma Viva say Oklahoma Alabama Clemson because proven it is one atop factory the Ohio state highest in Alabama. 'cause I never lost beat out. You really can't understand it into your inside. Sadness programming is all about the you for N._F._l.. Because of Georgia in every aspect but I think L._S._U.. CRESA environment of gray competition and guys is trying to feed off of IT University of Pittsburgh. You Got Dorset. Dan Marina you got Larry. Fitzgerald was not a me show. It's about having everybody involved in working for the Sandal clumps in would cushman he's been doing. He's making people believe everything is possible for House is the best our stop it. Stop stuff well. Let's start shall we with the most players from each college currently in the N._F._l.. Alabama leads the way with V with sixty five players players followed by Ohio state in second place with fifty eight so we're going to debate these schools I in terms of who is best at producing N._F._l.. Challenge here's a tale of the tape on Alabama at Ohio state success since the two thousand draft folks tools I have had thirty one first round picks the most of any school while the Buckeyes have thirteen more total picks in the last twenty drafts but Bama's players have been slightly more successful in the league producing three more pro bowlers than Ohio St Louis Rick. Let's start with with the crimson tide. They're starting eleven if you will offense and defense current N._F._l.. Talent there's any question that these are both very impressive lineups that if Alabama can roll these teams out there right now now. I think they'd win a few games without a doubt. If you look at the offense aside outside of the ball the first thing that jumps out of these starting eleven are the two wide receivers look Julio. Jones is one of the finest athletes in the N._F._l.. For guardless of position he's in the news right now because he's about to get a new contract extension and he's really one of the he's one of the transcendent players at the position that this game the scene Amari Cooper the same way. When Amari came out of college? I remember doing his tape in thinking point honestly as far as catching one pet and run wide receiver. I hadn't seen one as good as him as him. In a long long time on the defensive side look they have fine players throughout the eleven here really that when you get to the secondary and you guys like Eddie Jackson Landon Collins I mean these guys are disband tastic players on the front dont`a hightower our multiple time superbowl winner. These are great great players right here. Make our way to Columbus shower of the to Ohio state you go to the offense side of the football. Look the first thing that jumps out without a doubt as Ezekiel Elliott because if he's not the best running back in the N._F._l.. He would be considered a top three running back in the N._F._l.. Wide Receiver Michael Thomas Really someone who was unheralded coming out of college. He's a tremendous tremendous. Pro will probably be the highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. In short time then move over to the defensive side of the ball this this is where really this football team really kind of jumps off the board starting up Front Joey Bosa Cam Hayward those are two of the best defense alignment in the N._F._l.. Right now and then when you look down there at the Secondary Malcolm Dyson Dinkins Denzel Ward Marshon Lattimore doesn't let's get much better than that. All right Jonathan Vilma made his way again surly qualified to weigh in on this discussion. Look I mean there's a shortage of talent with either of these squads. It's almost ridiculous factory and a lot of ways both of these institutions but let the debate again a Ryan Clark. You can't pick L._S._U.. Just yet but when you look at this group what stands out L._S._U.'s better than both of these things we're gonNA get to that. We're supposed to be talking outlets. Let's be honest. There's amazing players. Neither one of them have a quarterback right before proven yet though little I mean why don't we always have to see something first before we can get you well Ray Richardson running back right you saw God compare that with you why time gentlemen we're GonNa play Nice Got Ninety minutes ago. You're the Glenn Difference from every other position that we're looking at okay fair enough now back to you Louis. It is a production results oriented industry. Is it not so it is fair to say seeing something. Does one believe they'll be success won't sure but I mean we're we'll see this is kind of like a combination of what they have done in college. What some of these guys have done in the pros in some of it's a little bit of projecting about what they're gonNA continue to do in the pros? That's how I'm going to expand it to that all right so at quarterback quarterback Dwayne Haskins I believe right now. There's no comparison as far as I don't care what A._J.. McCarron did it Alabama cows tape. Those Wayne has close exact Haskins is going to be a fine football player. What's going to happen to him? Really is going to be more predicated on what Washington redskins overall due to him then what he does to himself. I firmly believe that as far as these rousers overall look the wide receiver position Julio Jones Amari Cooper. Julio Jones's the standard if you go and look N._F._l.. For an offices and look in their scouting books books every team has a standard at every position that they put for scouts the suit for as far as whenever when their scouting people polio is going to be on that list for for many many teams he's about as good as it gets so skill positions at Alabama are awesome. The defensive players at Ohio State is what stands out for me as far as their front seven is concerned particularly their defensive line and their secondary Denzel Award Marshon Lattimore. You tell me a team that wouldn't take those two young men right now and startled. Let me ask you a specific question since you spend some time as an analyst watching these players at the collegiate level if you had to choose either of this group Alabama Ohio state who's players really got better or who took a bigger step forward than you anticipated when they got to the N._F._l.. Out To you to dance your last part no neither standout. They're pretty equal because watching these guys watching Jonathan Allen he played okay well Dante. I'll tell you knew who is going to be tremendous player defensive player C._J.. Moseley's same thing and then you go to the other side and you look at Joey Bosa Nick Bosa Darren like Malcolm Jenkins. I play with Malcolm Jenkins in in New Orleans knew he was going to be a study. He's Philistine but what is surprising how fast or House they defense is. I did not realize how fast defensive you think big ten you didn't big Brawley guys not so fast but these guys can move joey. Bosa also can move nick volks in Darren League. We know the Burner Malcolm J. Denzel War March. I mean that is a very very talented athletic fast fast defense. I thought I was going to jump in your rookie. I think that's a great question Wendy about as far as what teams teams have players that have gotten better pros. You look at Ohio state this look at their offense. In particular Michael. Thomas was a good wide receiver to hire Stayton. He's fantastic now. He's GonNa be highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. Andrew Norwell most people wouldn't even know Andrew Norwell well what from Andrew Doorbell he right now just judge Moore Norwell can't open open some N._F._l.. Spectacular and even on the defensive side of the ball. I didn't think Marshon lattimore. I've liked Marshon Lattimore at Ohio state. I didn't love Marcet. He has taken his game to another level as well in the really own Alabama side you know how I feel about Alabama I feel nick and what he does and how he builds his program but really focus on their offense align that was just look okay and think about that question. Wendy Wendy asked how many players have gotten better how many have continued to improve Andre Smith may have his best days at Alabama. Dame's carpenter has really been good pro Brian Kelly the jury still out he could be a he's a good player. He's GonNa play already in Indianapolis D._J.. fluker was he ever ever really that guy that dominant guy no. He hasn't been Cam Robinson. Have you seen story so it's interesting because they're preventing people have been many people who've hit Alabama and said they get the best out of their players at Alabama. Maybe it's good discussion legal where people go by what teams there drafted so we look at Michael Thomas he falls into a place where he needs an accurate passer and he's one of the most accurate passers all the time also about the place you land in ashore and how they develop you ask Josh Rosen he absolutely he knows that all too well. I ten Hasselbeck. The whole point of this is to pick one of our producers here a little bit we talked. I'm going Alabama mainly change quarterbacks. Yeah I think looks great point about the offensive line at Alabama because so many of them when you look at them just in terms of body type you're like Oh my God look at those guys body type wise but like I don't know that some of those guys have come in and be like Oh and they got a whole lot better. We're obviously splitting hairs here on this ongoing Alabama Lewis Sorry Nick. Oh from a hustle change your mind or did you stick the way said one because I don't care if between Haskins hasn't played. I think he's I think he's in the saints. Stratosphere is A._J.. McCarron so I like that I liked it their offense of line one of the things that talked about how they develop those guys on the defense aside but they're fun four plus their secondary this going with them Ryan Clark you have to pick one while I was brought here for one reason in one reason only when the Knicks because everyone knew it my answers it would be and what Tim Hasselbeck has proven is. You don't need a quarterback. That's really he's GonNa be Ohio state in Alabama that don't have quarterbacks guess what we don't need a quarterback back and by the way you don't want our first off was good enough for Bill Belichick your boy to draft him as Tom Brady's heir-apparent draft. We thought they they went to L._S._U.. Because this guy has what they decided to we throwing the ball all around the field Andrew Whitworth he's played a thousand years. There's a Guy Jerry go look at the Neil hundred may has like negative two percent body fat Michael Broncos out. There aren't key. We gotta wait on them but it's are are you at the back of position. That's all we got mad. I gotTa get here all even have to work conviction when you spoke scissors. I'm sorry I just so tim. I love your twenty. Two question your toughness Whoa West I've seen because as you know what fair enough he's at Alabama alum landon dare you wait into the circus that we've created. But what do you have to say about this. Whole debate ain't Ryan got some good good good stuff going on say? I wouldn't question his toughness at all. I don't know why you questioned Ryan toughness. I saw him not got a lot of Alabama's always number one no matter Corolla tyrod. Let me ask you a serious question. You know obviously nick. Sabin is a hall of Famer one of the best ever coach this game but specifically what does he do that has allowed such historic success at the university. Steve Alabama <hes> as a coach he speaks for as a coach. He represents his players as players coach. I would say he makes all this coach. All the players are on the him as a player as a father <hes> <hes> and as a as many tried to teach us they'd be a man and a great play all at one time you know so he does it all leading. Can you please tell the people why you are now better that you have trusted your career training with the guy from L._S._U.. Hey right you agreed trying to grow been gone on gone for years

"Fate in Arizona was pretty much said after the cardinals took Murray with the number one overall pick. But even before Rosen was traded on Friday to Miami. He unformed the cardinals on his social media accounts. Well, that sit well with former wide receiver Steve Smith from NFL network who ripped the quarterback saying, quote when things don't go your way, you're going to cry in the corner yesterday. Smith continued his criticism of Rosen. Take a listen, I'm getting tired of this generation where when things don't go, right? They do this passive aggressiveness. You know pass it won't let me un-filed somebody. Let me do this. Let me do that my whole thing with Joshua necessarily that I I question a player. What can we expect from the final 3 episodes of Game of Thrones?

"Giving away too much episode one they were trying to tell this tale of the white walkers white walkers first appeared in the very first episode of game a game of thrones. Right. We're not going to tell you exactly how. But they're episodes remaining. And I think we can put a bow on the white Walker story. Ooh. The adventures oil directly how. So where do you think this ends because they got like what? Three more episodes now four, right? I thought the end of the the series was going to be the white Walker storyline. But that's not it appears as I were going to actually just play the game of thrones. Now, right. Yes. That's why last night's episode. I think cleared away the answer Larry stuff in in a lot of begin fine tuning on on how this series is actually going to end. And and I just hope you know, as I don't have to tell anybody that. Oh, I'm obsessed with the mother of all dragons. And so I just pray that mother. Please be careful. It's it's a little frustrating being as rule fan of this show because I feel like the mob jumps down on you. When you don't understand certain getting it's an elitist audience by seeing every episode. I've only seen every episode once so excuse me, if I don't recognize a callback. When someone tells aria about a bunch of is that she saw and it was a line in like season three. How am I supposed to remember that without a previously owned game of thrones? That to me is a snob. Easiest thing this series. Does it just assumes, you know, everything and assumes that you're a die hard people need a refresher. Hell Highlander was week to week. But they told me what was going on each individual story was unique in Highlander. You had a single thread of there can be only one got it. Good. But I need a refresher. I I agree with that. I think it's it game of thrones fans tend to be a little on the snobby side. They're like people who are chess experts regarding everybody else's checkers players. If you give the the this recap before every episode though, you can kind of see where the episode is going to go. They replace something from episode. Why the Josh Rosen deal could pay off huge for Miami

"Now Josh Rosen was traded during the second round yesterday to Miami for second round pick. And of course, Steve Khan, the cardinals GM was asked about the trade, and what it meant. And why it happened? And here's what he had to say. Time lie of the Josh Rosen trait out today. Right. We'll just you know, there were a number things that we talked about yesterday. And quite frankly, they were the truth is is. We're very high on Josh Rosen and certainly were were find to keep him. But I think there were number things that went into it. And it's sort of a sliding scale when you look at the value of what you get for the player as well as the number of players that you can get sort of in that area. I find that quote hilarious, by the way. We quite frankly what I said yesterday was true. And we would have kept him as opposed to. What if I if it wasn't true? But have nobody believes that right? They couldn't bring those two quarterbacks back with Cuyler Murray. And Josh Rosen. They are so incompetent the in the way they handled the situation, but I have no faith. The color Murray is going to succeed. What I don't think cooking's is gonna be good NFL. But just the front office is complete disaster for them to come out and say reported yesterday that they did not earnestly shop Josh Rosen until minutes before the draft. And then wanna first round draft pick. You knew your drafting collar Murray the second you signed. Clippings bury your head coach. And the fact that you do not even try to use some sort of leverage that you had which is basically we really don't know who we're going to pick publicly and try to get someone to give you a good draft pick. You don't think the giants might have been willing to part with thirty seven for Josh Rosen, you'd even try cards. You can even try then expected a first round pictures fall, you're up and said you get the sixty second pit water. See her great. You get pick next year, whatever. But yeah, they were going to Josh Rosen. One hundred percent just a matter of where he was going to go and I just don't trust the cardinals. They to hire coach for one year, expect him to change his entire scheme was ridiculous and not realistic and the cardinals. I just I'm also Kingsbury, and I'm not really sold Murray kind of being in that system. Myron you. I mean the deal though for the for Miami is great, right? You get sixty second pick. And you get Rosen with it's worth the shot. There. Don't you think? I mean the dolphins win. I mean, you bring in a new administration new coach you got a guy was top ten pick a year ago things didn't work out zone Zona its first year, but who succeeded behind that line and there was on last year. So I think you know, relgion you're almost going into a second rookie season. I mean, he had what fifty five percent completion percentage. I think the lowest passer rating in the league. But I think you scratch all that knowing what he was

"Are you ready red? NFL dolphins cardinals closing on a deal for Josh Rosen. What do you think about that? Dolphins. Gonna get Josh Rosen for the forty something pick forty eighth pick. That's why not I mean, he was what eleven pick where to trade pick. And now all of a sudden the forty some a shot, right? Yeah. I don't think it's fair to judge him after just one season on a crappy team. I don't think anybody knows Josh Rosen is capable of. Yes. Rate deal for the by dolphins. "Forward. Arizona cardinals. Coach cliff Kingsbury is pretty happy with the team's first round draft pick. That's our top story. And here's Jamie west. Arizona Cardinals elect Tyler Murray, high praise cardinals talk pick from Ron woolfe Lee. There was on a sports ninety eight seven FM. Let's get the story live from KTAR. Jim cross, Jamie. Wolf says Murray the most explosive player in the draft. But he tells us more news, it's not the decision. He would have gone with. He would've traded the pick away removed. Any doubt about the cardinals current quarterback? Josh Rosen who was last year's first round pack believe Josh Rosen would be very very good and cliff kings, berries offense. But having said that Jimmy let me tell you. NFL draft 2019: Will the Cardinals unite Kyler Murray with Kliff Kingsbury?

"Just a couple of hours from the start of the NFL draft. The we're not gonna have some Philly to the second countdown on this show. Hope we do it's expected in some quarters at the cardinals will take Cuyler Murray with the first overall pick. There've been six weeks of reports that he will be or he won't be. Let's get right to the only question that matters. Tony what is shock? You Cuyler Murray doesn't go number one. Okay. So when you say some quarters all I've heard for X amount of weeks. He's going to go number one that the moment they signed cliff Kingsbury to be their coach. It was Kyla Marie. And it was Josh Rosen out will be shocked. No, I'm not going to be shocked because because if you get three number ones, maybe do something else. But I'm going to be surprised to the point of being a little bit stunned. It's the one thing I'm looking for. Maybe I'd like to see what the Redskins do other the music. I hope there's a lot of music from Nashville. But for me, if they don't take him, I'm gonna go, really. After all this really. Are you not know because I don't believe anything I hear. So you don't think sport in any sport? Because the point is to gain an advantage for your franchise. So the cardinals look their own quarterback doesn't know what they're gonna do the guy. They drafted last jayder with the first pick. Josh Rosen number ten overall air. I that's right. He is now basically saying he tried to go the other way and try to say, yeah, I'm good soldier. I'm gonna be with like to hell with you people. I don't believe anything you say his employer. So he doesn't believe them. Why would I I don't know what I'm gonna do it to pick? I don't know to me. That's the only suspense. There is I care bears have a pick in the first three rounds. So you don't I'm interested to see what the risk rate up to take the local quarterback Wayne house because that's all. To see that

NFL Draft Rumors: Picks for the Raiders, Jets, and Giants

"Now. Let's get into the raiders because they are very very interesting. They've sent everybody away. It's like, it's like survivor. There's two guys on an island. You got Mayock. You got Gruden no one else is around anywhere near the organization right now. And I read something that they said for fear that you know, they're big plan. Could get thrown to the wolves. What what possibly could this dynamic huge groundbreaking attempt. Be for the Oakland Raiders got insane. As we heard everyone connected to them literally Quinton Williams Devon why at Oliver and now. The most recent name is to Wayne Haskins. Now, I know a lot of raiders spans laugh at thought of that. But this is where it gets really interesting division in Oakland right now is that there are coaches there that really liked main Haskins. They're also coaches there that are not sold their car is the future. So is Oakland sitting there four knowing that Wayne Haskins might fall into their lap or hoping he falls into their lap. There's a lot of rumors about that right now. Or are they trying to play someone to train up with the jets to Oakland gift Quinton Williams? That's kind of where I'm weaning right now. I do think they want the jets to get out of that pick in fear that if they don't the general take when Williams and that's been there guy all along. This is a team that needs stars on the defensive line because they traded Khalil Mack. They don't have any. I know they use a lot of picks Matt area last year. I think Mary's hers could be an okay player. PJ hall hasn't shown anything yet right now. So Oakland all options are on the table for them right now. And it's very very interesting. All right. So if Haskins goes three and Williams. Does four Naida Tampa at five with Devon white. And Josh Allen still on the board. I think it would be I think Todd Bowles, I know Todd Bowles pick their and Lee here when he was in New York that was Todd Bowles spic you want speed at linebacker. He wants leadership at linebacker Tampa has loved Devon white for months now. I think if he's sitting there at five they would celebrate with happiness that they didn't have to move to get him. So you were telling me now that the way we just went through the MacIntosh of the first five picks. There's a legitimate chance that my New York football giants are landing maybe an elite talent edge rusher. Sixth overall in Josh Allen. I wouldn't rule it out at all. I would not rule that out at all. They get the guy who originally originally from jersey. Now, the interesting thing was the giants here. I have a belief that they've Gettleman has done a really nice job for once here with the smokescreens. And that the giants wanna quarterback at six as much as we keep hearing. They are content taking one at seventeen there's not even the guaranteed that. There will be one is seventeen. I don't see how team can take that kind of risk. So who? Do you think he likes because you know, I'm based out of New York, and we try to break down the code every day. And we just we have no idea of what's going on half the time. Do you look at him and say he likes Jones, we've heard that lock. We've heard that everyone seems to be opposed. The fact that Dwayne Haskins if someone who's interested in then lately for the rumor keyed up and maybe Josh Rosen lands to the New York Giants at some point. Yeah. There's a lot of sect year. I think they, you know, obviously, Daniel Jones there was a lot of smoke around them taking him at seventeen.

NFL Draft 2019: Notable Picks from Latest Expert Mock Drafts

"In reality isn't a difficult project. What is going to happen when we don't know in particular with this draft. We don't know what's going to happen. The number one pig came to get this thing over with. So he could really find out what's going on as opposed to all these different mock drafts that are out there. I'm right there with you. And I want to thank you for allowing me to come on the show. But it's a lot of group thing group three group out there. And that's the biggest thing that you see right now. It's a lot of my drafts. Everybody's just tired of becomes tired exercise. And we just wanna get it up to see the actually van happy. Now. How many have you done yourself, Jordan? I went back and looking I see one that was in January. Did you think that was your first one that was released pretty it's pretty close to what would be current stuff? Now, how many mock drafts have you come up with from January till now so I'll like to do one at the midway point before the combine. And then I do another one the week of the draft. So I'll be coming out with another one probably on Thursday morning. Okay. Now, how significant of a change would you have overall? He was certain things going to be changed. But the big the big pigs. You think there's going to be significant change from yours? The original ones. Now, I think there will be and I think it's going to start with calamari, and they both have those guys flip flop. Out in Nate both at the second big. And then we'll see what happens from there. Okay. So do you think your and we're talking about Jordan Reed and L draft staff writer for cover one host of the draft board podcast. You think for sure it is a foregone conclusion cliff Kingsbury in the Zona cardinals are going to draft collar with the number one pick. I don't wanna say it's a foregone conclusion because it at the same time last year everyone thought that Sam darnold was going to be the big to the Cleveland Browns just a year ago. So I think it's probably about seventy five percent chance of going to the cardinals. But we all know we just have to buckle up and see what happens during the drag because things could change at any moment. You mentioned some touched on before. Why does that keep happening years ago? It was Goff and Wenzel. They're not going to be top guys. Boom. What do you know team straight up? They go one to last year was all about darnold. Nobody knew Baker Mayfield gonna go number one. And then he did this year. It's all all about Murray, and even has to a certain degree where people were saying, oh has is going to be gone before. Let's say number six the giants pick. Now, all of a sudden, it sounds like not only may be there. But the giants may not even want them. They'll take Daniel Jones with number sakes. Why does that happen? Why are people so all over the place with quarterbacks in particular in these drafts leading up to the actual draft those quarterbacks other most important position, not only football. Sports period. It has nobody has a clue about football. They know exactly what the quarterback does and how they operate. So with that being said with these quarterbacks flopping over the past few months and even weeks, it just shows how much lack of infield that we do have. And we're not ineffective. So we're not supposed the curtain back and meet with these guys person or gets to know them personally. So we don't know what's going on in the mind that they've got them in or these other executives going on around the league, Jordan. I respect the honesty right there. You're right. Still fun. It's all about so fun to read about I get and we got to do it, and it's fun to project different things. But I guess the reality is without let's say, there's no Andrew luck there, and nobody knows for certain who's going number one without that. It's hard to project these things and the GM's arm can give anybody Dave Gettleman not gonna come out and tell Joe giant fan or whoever in the media what he's going to do it his pick. Why should he right? Jordan. Right. I mean, we saw Jon Gruden sin their whole scouting staff home. So it just shows you just how secretive these plans are and no team really wants their hands shown or what is going to be revealed on draft. They so I think we're gonna we're gonna see a while. Right. If I'm not sure exactly what the giants are going to do. But I think they're going to get a lot of backlash if they somehow don't find the quarterback future. Whether that's at six or at seventeen so let's get into some specifics here, we're talking about Jordan Reed NFL draft staff writer for cover one host of the draft board podcast. You mentioned you think the cardinals are going to take collar Murray with the number one pick. Do you think that's a mistake? I was talking before about how an organization can hire new head coach draft a quarterback in the first round last year guy. What was the best quarterback coming out less? Your Josh Rosen. And then a you later fire the head coach cliff kings, Mary you could certainly argue whether that was a good higher. Not. And I don't think it is. And now take collar Murray with the number one overall picks. Do you think will be good pick a good move for this car does organization? To keep that number one pick and take collar Murray. I think it would be and I say or I'll put it this way cliff Kingsbury, everyone likes to point out just how fancy as offense is and how well operated at Texas Tech. But it really didn't work like a lot of people were saying that it worked should have work and with cliff Kingsbury, he's probably gonna get gonna get one chance to be an NFL head coach and what better way into your guy in there. He has no ties to Josh Rosen. He was not there when the team drafted him last year, and he has he doesn't have a freelance relationship with him. But on the flip side with Colin Murray. We've seen him and his offense and everybody seems famous video circulating on. If cliff gains vary ever had the overall selection that he without question would say column, Mary so I think with Kyla Mary why such a great fit in this offense. If you think about all the great young quarterback that entered the league over the past few years and even going back to last year with Baker Mayfield. Sam Donald Josh Allen. Even Lamar Jackson to an extent all of them have have had one. Thing in common, and that's having the ability to create all script or being able to operate and when things break down, and that's exactly what column or is able to do. But with Josh Rosen and the state of Arizona Cardinals off it's a front. I think if they're able to select calamari he can kinda relaxed weakness that they have a front just because of the lack just because of the -bility he has to create scripts though, I think he would be a really good fit in Arizona. Interesting fascinated see a if they keep the big if they do in fact, take him and see what happens with Josh Rosen. And then obviously how it's going to pan out because Kingsbury Murray will be must watch to see how that works out for the cardinals. If in fact, they team up who's the team most likely to trade down from two or three there's a lot of rumors teams will to trade down on this. Good debt specially defensively. Do you see the Niners? Do you see the jets maybe trading out of their top spots here? I think the night is it gonna take if they're just because they haven't used need off of the they don't have anybody there. Now, they did trae for deport but they still need some help off of the age. I think they're sit along the interior would force Buckner Eric St. and now with Solomon Thomas transition inside. So I think they're fine on the interior but outside of D Ford. They don't have any other threat coming off the edge. So you plays both in there with that young up and coming into your your, and then you pair would be Ford. I think that would be a really good combination of front now. One thing that's a really interesting spot is the New York Jets at three because is very wide open out there that they wanna trade back just because they don't think there's a lot of value there at that. But they only have six peaks. So they wanna get back and maybe regain some of those recoup some of those that they had to trade for last year when they acquire them darnold. So maybe they wanna trade back and still get that edge rusher that they need even if Quinton Williams or Josh Allen is there. And maybe they have those guys graded similarly on their boards day. Okay. With trade him back. Maybe six or seven is still getting a guy like a month with or somebody of that nature. Now who would be the team most likely to trade up with the jets for number three. See that's the biggest problem because this similar to last year's draft is that there's no quarterback that teams wanna trade up for third spot like a Sam darnold from last year. So it takes two to party and with a trade. They don't have a partner right now. I think but maybe some team has Haskins on their board. Maybe like Cincinnati at eleven I could see them or Washington trading. Alway from fifteen up to three now with a lot of draft capital. But I'm just using example, we have teams that could straight up. So that overall selection, right? And that's why it's intriguing when you look at what the jets having that number three big rumor to be wanting to trade out of it. I mean, if they don't think that Alan is war that I don't know what they're thinking there. I wanna get more picks back. Maybe get good players. Let's say the do trade, in fact with the giants team that, you know, look, it was rumored last year that that could possibly happen is rumored again this year. Because the giants won't their quarterback. Do you think the giants need to trade up from six to get there the quarterback that they want? I know Gettleman throwing out a lot of smokescreens here. But ultimately, do you think has gains or Jones will be there at number six for the giants thing Jones definitely will be and odd just don't really know about Haskins right now. Because last week we saw that he was going to be a top five selection this week. They're saying, right. Fifteen. So there's a lot of rumors out there. And we really don't know. But if the giants won't be sure I think they should trade up to the third spot to secure their guy. Just because if easier guys go hitting trade up and get him and don't wait on anybody. Just in case team jumps you. And now you're gonna be stuck maybe reaching on through lock or even Daniel Jones who do you like better out of those? I'm assuming you like Murray the best out of the quarterbacks. Give me your take on Haskins Jones. So I have it Murray at the top. And then I have happiness, and then I have locked and then have Danny Jones right after that. And I'm a big fan of the top two guys in Haskins emerge. And I say that because they are a bit different as far as this guilty. I don't know we talked about earlier folks here. What I love about him is. Yes, he's a one year start.
