"No, yeah, I know. Tyree kills a dolphin like the hell going on was the tweet that's Stefan Diggs tweeted out and that to us here on this show is the headline of the entire NFL off season. To me, while we're just speculating, this sounds like business and it sounds like a number came from the niners that landed poorly with debo. And he might be somebody's like, that's it then. See you. I'm out. And I don't want to talk. And then maybe the draft goes through and he's still in San Francisco. And then they can revisit and say, let's just talk the number now because we are not going anywhere. But I don't blame him for seeing everybody else with their numbers. Let me ask you this thing question. Is there an issue in the NFL about paying guys who are three years in, their first contract, the numbers that say devonte Adams gets 8 plus years in? Is that now an issue? Do you think? We haven't seen one of those guys get broken off like that yet though. Even Terry mclaurin is waiting and you want to talk about a guy who was a C on the Jersey and he looked unbelievable guy. If they're not paying, it's not breaking him off right now. And then you look at DK and AJ Brown, obviously, but jibo like we haven't seen that mega mega deal from those guys. Now DJ Moore got an extension. We've seen some big secondary second contracts, but Tyreke and devonte are 28 and 29 years old and it put on those seasons year after year after year. Hasn't yet, you know, I think as value right now is as high as it's ever been as a pro and maybe the highest we will ever be. I also wonder if and again, I understand that there are people who are debo Samuel supporters who said you're really coming after the kid. I'm not. But without Mike mcdaniel as the run game coordinator, does he put up those same numbers without having a coach like Kyle Shanahan if he putting up those same numbers? And without Michael flor, who was with him in the year previous or the two years prior with the niners who's now the jets, does he work the same? I said today, Carolina would be a great place for him, but if you're doing that with Ben mcadoo as the authentic coordinator, I don't know. So it's just Ying and Yang. It's the chicken and the egg in a way where Kyle Shanahan is such a diabolical genius. So there's often that he had the courage to put a wide receiver running back throughout the playoffs. And it worked. I don't know if every other offensive coordinator is using him that way. Peter schrager here on the rich eisen show where you have Kenny Pickett and your mock draft going to Carolina, what's the tea leaves there? How do you see the quarterback draft going into Vegas? I think it's pretty bleak as far as name surging up the draft board. And if it's not to Carolina at 6, I have a hard time finding another team in the top ten and then we start bleeding down into the teams and even to 20 at the Steelers where they've been singing praises both externally and off the record about Mitch trubisky since he's gotten there. So rich, I think that's really interesting. I've got picket going 60 Carolina. I don't think I'm going to change that. I think they do need a quarterback if they draft that they believe is their pick and I think pick it makes a lot of sense to them, but gosh, I don't have a team that's banging down the doors for Kenny Pickett that I know of a Caroline included that my source is there. I haven't heard them say like we love ticket. But the same term Malik Willis, the same for Desmond river, the same for Matt corral, the same for Sam Howell. Like, I don't have that team where in recent years, it's always been you get like a little inkling. Okay. Look, this team, they love Zach Wilson. You know, the jets love Zach Wilson last year. This team, from what I hear, this team loves this guy. I don't have it for any of the quarterbacks. So it's difficult to put to put a name and number like Bucky Brooks and we love. He doesn't have a quarterback going in the first round, and I can't say that's wrong. Like I can't. So it's going to be fascinating where they end up, but I certainly don't have that player or that prospect that is linked to a team at the quarter of acquisition right now. So then let's finish up this quarterback conversation, Peter, by asking a question we ask on this show what's more likely because that question every now and then on this program, a Saturday morning when we go on the air in Las Vegas, Nevada and we're finding Daniel Jeremiah on his mattress somewhere atop a roof and we get him there in time, though, because that's the way the happy ending happens. On Saturday morning, what is more likely we're talking about Baker Mayfield and his new team, we're talking about Baker Mayfield is going to have to hope somebody potentially gets hurt in training camp for him to find a new spot. What do you think is more likely? Saturday morning. Yes. Isn't that crazy? I mean, think about where we've come in. I don't know if they're trading them because they don't have anything to like, here's the thing. I would think that it would be, hey, Cleveland trade Baker Mayfield and a first round pick for this. They don't have a ton of picks. And they don't have a first round pick right now. And they traded a bunch of future stuff to Houston. So it's not that I think you're going to have to maybe wait and see on this baker deal and the same with Jimmy Garoppolo. I think we're going to be waiting a little bit. And for baker, maybe his best thing and it sounds crazy to say this, because nothing might be just getting outright released by the Cleveland Browns or at least he can pick his next destination. Money be damned and maybe it's a short term deal and then he can crack it again, but I don't know. I don't have a spot for baker right now. All along I heard Carolina wasn't really interested in him. I don't think Seattle is interested in him right now. So I think we might be waiting and seeing on Baker Mayfield. Well, I mean, I think Saturday morning, unless there's a trade the night before, from a team that didn't get their quarterback in the top three picks in the draft, or three rounds of the draft, Peter schrager, that if that scenario does not unfold and baker doesn't go somewhere second out of the draft a la Josh rose in a couple of years ago. Then is it possible that Andrew berry and the browns are sitting there and thinking, you know what? Let's hear how Roger Goodell rules on deshaun Watson. Let's hold on to baker and sort of hand him a rose in our basement library and hope he comes around, you know?.

"And I don't consider them a necessary part of my of my skin care routine. I feel like it's like a nice to have but don't need to have kind of thing. You know, like if they make you happy, go for it, but I don't feel like I need one. That's fair. On the other hand, I do. Maybe I'm addicted to a mist. I love Josh rose books, hydrating toner. That's going to probably take my first position, but I do have an understudy, which is clinique's moisture surge, face spray, thirsty skin relief. And you can almost a full bottle of this stuff, and I really like it. Okay. In an homage to her mother's. Yeah. Funny, yeah, I know. Who knew? Okay, now you don't use a vitamin C serum. No, I again, one of those things that I have tried and I just like, I don't know. I don't think my skin likes them and I've just sort of given up honestly. But what is your next step like your morning serum is dot dot dot? Timeless CoQ10. Okay. A baby. This is your Angelina Jolie. You're George Clooney, your Denzel Washington Prada. I just love this product. I think it's perfect. I have no complaints or qualms or issues with it. I've been using it for years. I love it. Now, I will say lately my skin has been feeling a little bit dry. So on top of my CoQ10, I've been adding the ordinary hyaluronic 2% plus B 5 serum. Oh, okay. Which gives you a little juice. It's deeply moisturizing. So yeah, that's what I've been doing. Well, I do like a vitamin C serum. I'm still auditioning for this role. I've got two people two people to serums in my medicine cabinet right now who are fighting over the spot. I've been using Sunday Riley's vitamin C serum and summer Fridays vitamin C serum. Now, these both sound, I mean, Sunday Riley is a name, some are Friday. I feel like it could also be somebody's name. And I really like both of them, but then also has a vitamin C that I want to try. So I just have to use these that I already have. So I really like both of those. And I do like a vitamin C, I do find it to be a very brightening addition to my skin care regimen. Okay. All right, now take me on your morning moisturizer journey. And I want to know is it the same at night? Okay. Okay. First, no, it is not the same at night. Okay. Usually in the morning I'm using the tatcha water cream. However, recently see under my skin feeling very dry. I've been using the moisturizer I use it in my, which right now is the skin fixed barrier plus triple lipid peptide cream..

"Let's Rob Lowe gets hurt, which let's see you look at that depth chart for the 40 Niners. They got your favorite player from a few drafts. Good. Josh Rosen. They got Josh Rosen and they've got the legs. Really? Yeah, they got the legendary Nate said fell to its quarterback. I'm Indiana. So Nate said Feldman said, ruined a lot of people's week. 17 left. I don't think here then if Jimmy Garoppolo stays healthy and stay in place. Well, I don't think That trade. Lance will play much this year. But I think If Jimmy struggles and if Jimmy gets injured again, he has been the last two years. Yeah, I think they throw trade Lance in there. You're right. So you were not arguing that Josh Rosen is going to keep Trey Lance on the bench? No, I'm not arguing that it all financial commitment to Trey Lance Well, and I mean, he's Kyle Shanahan's guy. Kyle Shanahan clearly wanted this guy and so, Yeah, I think he's you know he's going to make it a priority to get the get the guy ready. Uh, Josh Rosen already onto What is that? Like his four questions Hard His highlight when he got that hot tub Ito in his dorm room, and you see how like silly that was the highlight of his life. What do you do you? We always talk about Peking Did he peaked too soon? He picked two sons. You have another chance to peek again? Well, he peeks the night that they beat. And remember, they came back from all those points. Backbeat Aggie is that he went straight to the hot tub use always see elated. Yeah, That's when Kevin someone we've got fired. That's funny when they came back for like 30 down, and he went straight to the hot tub of the cheerleaders. He was my guy to Josh Rosen and in that draft, I liked him better than Baker better than Josh Allen. Better than all those guys. Sam Donald is like Josh Rose, and that's the one Can be right all the time. No, no, Gina Spirit can't be Medina spirit every day of the week chasing spirit, Godina spirit. I heard you play that yesterday. Yeah, yeah, That's right, buddy. That was a big hit. I know about the ponies. Okay? I know I know about the Phillies. Gosh, that was his horse. He got like 150 to 1 back, like, nine months ago when he bet on it lost by half ahead. Yeah. They say that nobody passes that Medina spirit horse that like if you get if he gets out to an early lead, nobody passes. Yeah, on dat was that was the case there. What's what a stupid thing. You're betting on these horses running around in circles. Yeah. Yet. Here we are away for the Preakness. Yeah, Couple of what's nice. Let's do it. Medina spirit. I mean, either that'll get Triple Crown horse boom. Okay, Heard it here. First Science. Probably not. Probably not s. Oh, yeah. Jimmy Garoppolo days are numbered with the 40 Niners. He's a He probably gets a starting job somewhere else, All right? Uh, we could. It took a team to the Super Bowl. He did. And then when he took on the Super Bowl, they didn't have you then. "I got I asked them to link to my channel. So I have that video out there and suddenly thousands of Guild Wars players were directed to it. So I've had a strong contingent of Guild Wars support ever since then nice. Nice. All right. So before we go and it's been a really great talk with you guys besides all the wonderful things. You've been advice you've given do you have any last specific advice for new Authors be teachable? Oh, I like that. That's really good God. This is something that I see in because I teach on my YouTube channel and I get a lot of questions and also on my my Discord Channel I get a lot of new people are just getting into things off. And yeah, that is the the to me the single biggest problem with improving is feeling is getting your feelings hurt when someone says those eyes are asymmetrical or maybe if you make the nose a little bit, you know, whatever. So yeah, I agree with be teachable. Oh and yeah, can you see this change it up a little bit writing speculative fiction by. Oh I've seen that. Who's that by by Yours Truly? Yeah, writing speculative fiction science fiction fantasy and horror and it's not my advice. I took advice from dozens of people got permission from them and put it together and what's different about this writing a book is there's there's two hundred excerpts from books in here to to to show concept. And again, I got permission from everybody this took me a year because it takes forever it sometimes to track down and author and get permission from them. Right that's just have to make sure and put a link in the show notes for that. Also. It is really good. I'm very proud of of the work she did on that because yeah that she has this broad range of the novel. She's written throughout her life plus all the work that she did in collaboration with me. And then I think she brought all of that to bear on this amazing book that I think will help. Yeah, and it off for high school students. Is that right? But it's that was I was aiming at the high school homeschool Market, but I've had lots of different ages read it and tell me it was useful to them. Nice. Yeah, it's really fundamentals which any beginner at any age is going to be useful. I recognized the cover. So I think I've run into it off. Either online or somewhere. So so it's out there cuz I've seen it. So that's great. All right. Well Josh and Rose, it's been great talking you guys your book looks really wonderful. I love everything you were telling us about Cooperative writing with others. So I really do wish you guys luck. Hopefully we can touch base after you get a couple more of the books out. "Racist thing in my book. I'm like what so I had to find out where was the problem? Well when I wrote down was totally innocent in my mind because I was you know, it was about this this tribe of people. They named their kids after they're born when they do something cute or or perhaps. They're they're very casual about how they named their kids. And so I named when Ian big and I was thinking of how a kid you take a picture of it and I just so cute and I need another one hanging hold tight, you know, and I was thinking of the baby hand holding the finger. Okay, so that was bought it never even occurred to me that someone else in another setting would read that and think that was saying that.

"Back to discovered wordsmiths. I can have the podcast with Josh and Rose this time. We're going to be talking about the the they're writing together cooperatively. So we'll get into that a little tough. But first what are some things you guys learned writing together? Cuz Rose you said that you've written before but now you're writing with somebody and it happens to be your son. So what are some things you've learned differently writing with somebody as opposed to writing on your own actually. I think it's easier for me to write with somebody cuz then I had a direction that I know instead of where in the whole world. Am I going to go? I like that part. I like assignments. I think some people would really hate to hack and aside the plot given to them or to sign character, but I like it. That's how I write most of my books with what he does first would come I put this this species human or otherwise, then we come up with its its physiology how it interacts with its surroundings. And then we asked what would make life hard for this thing. And and then how does this thing overcome based on its thought processes and Physiology and it's I mean, if you lay a thousand eggs and one grows up to maturity you have an entirely different concept of page nineteen then say human deaths. And so that that that's fun for

"The question was what what are your influences and Inspirations? What books have you grown or read throughout your lifetime? Stanley wine bomb is is when Marie my sister and of course the classical greats that time I am lying naked the the children's books that the the I don't post as a moth poul Anderson. I read widely. So it's kind of hard for me to pick what yeah, how many how many books do you read a year or something? Like it's in the somewhere between six hundred and three hundred. Wow. Wow, I sometimes wish I could read that much anymore. Okay, me too. So before we we get done with this first half of the money podcast talking about the book tell everybody hard question why they should go out and get this book to read because it's so much fun. So you go I agree with that. I think what a lot of people who have read it and got back to me seemed to resonate with is that you know, even people who'd okay. Well, I'll start with a group. There's the group of people who love fantasy and all things fantasy and to me that's kind of the the the no. Category. Yes, they're going to read our book and like it there's the category that wage. With fantasy, they'll they like fantasy if it's kind of within the popular culture. They like Harry Potter or Game of Thrones TV series, but they they're not really familiar with the depth and breadth that fact she has to offer and those people are often very surprised at how somewhat orthogonal this is to Fantasy. It's very much a fantasy story. But the fact that our protagonist comes from a kind of Polynesian flavored tropical island and he's a fish out of water in the more kind of european-style, you know, as he travels across this continent and the how alien the the other species that cohabit telephone with humans how alien, they are and original and and so that brings a lot of flavor, we're not running into dwarves and elves and Orcs, but we are running into a scientifically plausible versions of them. And so I designed them from birth Round up very much to say okay physiology. What is their physiology? How how does this affect their psychology to be built this way? For instance if you're digging underground, what is your body going to actually be shaped like, you know, and and how is that going and how does a society that lives underground actually could operate? Um, I look at real-world corollaries and I see you use social species like naked mole rats and termites and so we're pulling inspiration from very disparate areas off all directed towards how do we fill this fantasy Trope but in our own unique way that's a very long-winded way to say. I think it's original. Hey, so that's where you would go. I I love that too because I've talked to a couple of others about fantasy and it really seems like the the way the world is now with Indie publishing that we can get some fantasy out birth. That's not as I said the traditional old white guy fantasy something that's a little different. I talked to a gentleman that was writing fantasies based on African mythology rather than European and Norse and all that. So there's a lot of room out there nowadays for a lot of good interesting new books. And this sounds like it fits right into that. All right, well off and Rose, it's been great talking to you about the book and I hope everybody comes back don't go anywhere. We're going to talk about authors stuff coming up on the second half. So thank you guys for being on the podcast home. Yeah. Thank you. It's been fun. Thank you for listening to discovered wordsmiths come back next week and listen to another author discuss the road. "Yeah because they're interactive that throws a monkey wrench in the whole being Cannon thing. So if if you can imagine Game like Skyrim but set en Talla far and you're playing as bomarc and you're you go on your adventure. Well, that can't be Canon because you're making decisions that weren't made in the novel. Right? So to me that video games right now at this point, you know, what video games can be as a medium and it's still a young medium. It still has a lot of growth to go. But right now I can see tala for flavored abstracted games like a game of chess, but with telephone our figures or a dice game that takes place in tellah far but it it's just, you know, you're a guy on the street playing with other Street urchins playing this dice game, right? So the so it's not interrupting or breaking any other cannon that would be taking place or like a trading card game exactly. So is this I I assume traditionally are independently published not traditionally published. Yes. I had a dog. "Just have a bow that strong all the time that's going to wear out the bow, you know, so these kind of things if you put them in the text, it's awful it bogs everything down but little Choice places to note them in through during the dialogue or during the description of something. I don't do the thing where you know, it describes a Victorian dinner scene and talks about every plate and Dish and and silverware, right? But all that stuff has been designed and it's all in a giant document about the logistics and stuff. So I just get excited about that sort of thing because I'm a nerd that way readers should not perceive it except to the extent that everything Faith is like there's a depth to it that could be plumbed and that and and we have a big Wiki on world Anvil that will be filled up with this kind of stuff for the people who care about it. I still have to get a link to Thursday. For sure, so and I'm glad he does that because I can never remember which is right and which is left which is east and which is west north and south like that back east and west I keep confusing the truth. So Rose you take some of the stuff he has and like get it more story-based instead of just facts and figures and long lists of description and things like that. Do you use your your experience to make everything he has into a better story and working back and forth like that? Yeah, we go back and forth every novel besides being professional professionally edited also has you know, Josh goes through and it makes his changes and conditions I go back over it and make it sound like me. He goes through it again and and fixes what I got run the second time I went through and we just go back. For us until we're done Josh, you mentioned TV and movies and stuff. So what would you guys prefer? Would you rather make something like this into a TV series or into a set of movies? I have a love for virtually every medium and I would so I don't see TV and movies as the goal and I'll move away from novels. I simply want to see tala for manifest in as many mediums as possible. So novels are the current like low-hanging fruit there within my reach to create right now. I'm actually currently developing a graphic novel with a friend of mine who has worked on Marvel. He's worked on Star Wars comics actually and so we're we're kind of in the very the nascent stage of developing a graphic novel series for it..

"Yoda is another one and usually big ears not always but usually birth The Gremlins right? So I superimposed them all on Photoshop and said aha. I am simply working within this archetype and that's okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah and it's good because people like those characters are familiar with it. So right away, it gives your character that familiar feeling rather than something that's completely different off-the-wall. You know, it's like like right try the same reason in books you use some of the same tropes that you know, the science fiction or romance, you know, they've got certain elements in the story that people want to read and like to read so I mean I was thinking well if they offer that shirt, I might go over to their store and pick me up one cuz I love that. It looks great. Yeah, I think that's something that way we're we're kind of developing our style as we write these multiple books and as I'm developing things visually that you know, I heard this interesting theory about novelty song. Versus I'll just call it tradition and everyone has a different sort of slider where they're comfortable when they read a book. They want it to be 80% tradition familiar and 20% Novelty is familiarity. Okay, so familiarity versus novelty and where we put that slider as maybe a little bit further towards the down side, you know, but we're still trying to consciously work within tropes that people understand so that when the novel things come up there are still a bedded in something familiar and and comfortable. So, yeah, it's it's finding that those those Choice places to add the spice. I think that's the most fun to me either and I think that's fine driving eighties. I always have I have trouble writing battles. So I'll go ahead and write a battle scene and then dead. Give it to Josh and he doubles its length and its intensity now. I want to caveat that because that's what I originally did, you know fifteen years ago. And since then I've taught myself, you know through writing courses and panels and Etc about how to actually write action correctly. I was doing it incorrectly. I was doing it like a fight choreographer originally where I would say the right hand moved across to the right, right, you know describing every gory detail and I sensed learned that no, it's about evoking movement and using your adjectives sparsely, but well and you know, so I've developed as an author since then and now I strive to keep those things much shorter. I saved all of my original scenes the bloated scenes that were would be a pain to read dead. And I'll keep those for the television script to give to the choreographer to take notes on. I was just going to say there's two major places where I insert myself into the text and then further iteration. My mom will go through and and kind of sand off the rough edges because obviously she has a lot more experience writing than I do but the two main areas are the action scenes and the other one is logistics like I brought up, you know, I'm I'm trying to make this scientifically plausible fantasy Adventure which is weird a weird construction to put on yourself. But like I said, I think it yields very interesting original Fruit but by Logistics, I mean things like considering how fast does the creature the writing go for how long on what road conditions what kind of supplies would they have to bring with them? "In my mind the poster or what this is going to be like, but she went off on some other direction and that will never happen because it's you know, so we work together to to sort that kind of stuff out well and it's it's it's fun collaboration. In that he does allow me to inject things that he had not thought of but the character Scola I'm actually very proud of that character. I've not met a character like him in any, you know, I've been reading science fiction for you know fifty five years and I haven't met a character like in yet and that's why he became the mascot for telephone or he's he's iconic in the sense that he hits certain tropes that are would be familiar to some people but he's such a Twist on them that I think it really speaks to the unique voice of the writing. And yeah, so yeah, he had to be our our kind of logo character and I love that when I saw your shirt. He looked like kind of like an evil Stitch. Yeah. So there's there's a very interesting thing in visual development wage. Where there are proportional archetypes for characters and I when I first started developing the care, you know, my mom wrote him made him up out of whole cloth and I adored him and so when I was you know doing the visual development on him, I kept running into this problem where I would show them to people and they say, oh what a neat Gremlin. Oh, what a neat Yoda off. Right, right and what what I did to to finally get over it because I would keep redesigning the redesigning furiously, but I was still trying to match. I was still trying to hit this archetype. Right? What I finally did was I took all of the characters and I think there's eight or nine of them. There's also e t there's also I can't remember his name from Farscape the little Muppet from Farscape and they all have the same proportion of eyes to nose to mouth..

"Traumatized because he has killed his best friend. Okay, and how did he do that? And well there was this contest life and he had to kill him in this contest and I might well Why and Josh says you're the writer and so I came up with a Y and he accepted it and we went on from there. So the the book behind you Josh. Is that what is that? The book that this is about that? Yeah. So this is the first this is the one that we have published so far off the scarred King book one Exile and the idea is that the the first Trilogy that we've written is in production. The second one is actually coming out in about a month. It should be out April 20th. Don't know when this is podcast as long as you all happy birthday. It'll probably be around that time. Excellent. Excellent month. Yeah. So that is the the whole initial Trilogy that I hope to kick off the franchise with it was important to me that it'd be kind of a game. Tried in adventure. I didn't want to just focus on one little culture in one corner of the Universe. I wanted to get a in video games we call this a vertical slice where it's sort of affects labor of everything. So you get a sense of a Gestalt of the world. And so yeah that that was really, you know more so than he killed his friend and he's traumatized what the big challenge that I gave to the author slash. My mom was I am traveling across the world collecting and and I just can't, you know ten things he needs to get ten things for some reason wage and and bring them back home. And so at first I was thinking what is he a thief is, you know, I I wasn't sure how to how to put this conceptually and she really well I'd say we bounced ideas back and forth until we came up with an interesting culture that he comes from that had these certain demands that required that he do this this big Quest the phone number. Rest of the books and again going back to franchise management. I'm I want there to be room for every kind of sub-genre within the kind of sci-fi fantasy setting that this is in I would like there to be crazy hours and romances and political intrigues and the day in the life. So yeah, I want to make sure that as we're releasing, you know, so far we have 11:00 in the backlog. It's going to be a good variety of these kinds of stories. So this first one the scarred King what genre would you classify that as I would call it by its travel Adventures? Yeah, I would say maybe maybe action-adventure although there there's plenty of action, but it's not something I would still say that it's character focused..

"Look, Look, I knocked on the door a couple of times and you guys will know. Tom Brady was unbelievable again off the field because players want to play with them and you talk about moving the story forward. They have a number of free agents. Guys like Shaq, Barrett Grant a B for net, but When you practice and play on natural grass, which players love. You have perfect weather like you do in Tampa. You have no state income taxes, and you have a chance to win because Tom Brady is a quarterback. Yeah, He's a great GM, and that's why they're gonna be right in the mix next year as well, and it's a perfect combination and as long as they could protect them, and that's what we saw last night, guys. Difference in the game was up front Temple was able to protect Tom Brady and Kansas City. Patrick their homes for the first time as a chief didn't score because Tampa Bay consistently got pressure with four players. Wait, Mike, are you forecasting that Tampa Bay is going to win it again next year? Is that your prediction right now? She will Okay, Well, I don't know if they're gonna win it, but they will be right in the conversation. When you look at the NFC. Obviously, the Saints will take a step back. Moving on from Drew Brees, who knows who comes out the NFC East. Green Bay will be there. But beyond Green Bay. I think it's very realistic for Temple. He kept back. Unlike Kansas City where Patrick where Holmes is, cap number starts going up significantly. Tom Brady's cap number is more flat, so I think they have a chance to keep more players and again going back to Tom Brady being the general manager. Players will take a little bit less money because of two things one. They're paying less in taxes, so it's more money in their pocket and two they feel like they have a real chance to win. Wow. Tom Brady back in the Super Bowl again at 44 years old. Let's go to the chief side for a second, Mike Some so much is going on. Andy Reid, son having that car accident. Obviously Patrick Holmes, having a towing the old line decimated. Where did the chief's go from here? Yeah, First of all, our thoughts are with the victims of that unbelievable tragedy that I think we'll find out a lot more in the coming days. They have some really big decisions that they have a couple really good players that are up Sammy Watkins, who's a great receiver when he's healthy. Daniel Sorenson, who's a little bit of an underrated starting safety for me, He's a free agent, a Patrick Holmes. His Cabinet goes from five million to $24 million, so We know over time Their nucleus is going to shrink. Travis Kelsey will be there. Tyreek Hill will be there. But other players will have to graduate. And I think the one thing we saw last night if if Patrick Holmes has any kryptonite whatsoever. Is the pass rush and He looked last night like a young, inexperienced player where he was under duress. He was never comfortable in the pocket. He bailed out quite a bit, and that offensive line has to come back healthy. And that's where it all starts and coach Redos that I'm sure that will be the focus of their off season. Mike now that the season is officially over On. We're starting to get ready for the 2021 off season. If you would've general manager of the New York Jets right now, what is the asking Price for Sam? Donald if you wanted to move him It's a second round pick because he's a player that's star the leaky. He has not shown greatness as very similar to what we saw, with Josh Rose and leaving Arizona being traded to the Dolphins. Top 10 pick New coach comes in. And that case was Cliff Kingsbury. This plate case. It's Robert Sallah, a second round pick, I think would be a fair price. Just a two. That's it. Wow. What about Carson? E? What he's done. I mean, what Yeah, I was gonna say, you know, Carson wants to be maybe a little bit more because he's played at a higher level..

"Rosen was on the Buccaneers practice squad on December 23rd. He could've got a ring. He got poached out the practice squad by the San Francisco 40 Niners. Here's a Niner. All right, Who knew that? Is he putting pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo? Quarterback controversy. Question Mark and club. Does he get a ring for being on the practice? What? Why not? I don't know. Do you have to stay on the practice squad Told you Josh Rosen was in which way I should be Hey, helps out in practice would have said that Josh Rose is gonna end up with a Super Bowl ring before any of those other quarterbacks. He'd be the first guy in that class. That would be amazing. Uh, let me get a good start of the day. I first got to win a Super Bowl ring in that last Thanksgiving. I was 21. After the hour. "The Goodyear Hotline. Bill. We appreciate your time tonight, my friend. Hope you're well, um Least likely to most likely let's start with the least likely to Shawn Watson ends up where Least likely Oh, boy, the chiefs, I guess, right? You know, just in terms of you gotta figure that's the one team from your inquiry Start over. He said that my bad Let's go. Most likely. Look, we're starting with the homes of the Chiefs. There we go. Let's go most like that. Most like OK, I would say the Miami Dolphins, but I don't think I'm alone there. I just think the amount of capital they have to work with making most easily afford a trade. They could, of course move that photo overall pick which is gonna be really viable to Houston as they draft a quarterback to replace the Sean Blossom. And I have a quarterback into attack of violence. They can understand to the Texans as part of the package, which produces the demographic that absent or they can send type of our lowest. We have a team, maybe get a first round pick for him and then use that take as part of the package to grab Watson from Houston. They just are so far ahead of the pack in terms of What they can offer relative to the rest of leap. Bill. Two teams that had an opportunity to draft this on Watson. But past the Chicago Bears in the San Francisco 40 Niners. Both would probably be interested. But could you see either team seriously getting involved in the sweepstakes? Yeah, I think so. And I think both things make sense that the Bears. Obviously they are a team that brought back Ryan Pace brought back meant Maki. Those guys are probably you know, coaching or being your manager for their jobs this year. Eccentricities free agent so they really have Nick pulls a quarterback and little else, So wouldn't shock me if they did decide. Hey, let's try and go all in because we think this is our best shot at keeping our jobs passed this year and for the Niners. I mean, we saw with Jimmy Garoppolo, obviously not healthy. The guy who's been 25 million next year, but I was not been all that great when he has been helped. He's good, but doesn't have the sort of upside down. Lots of those. I think the Niners You know, it's just very aggressive in years past, but they had a guy they really want. They're willing to go all in with the right guy. Or spend more than anyone else expects for the right guys if they think they're so Watson is gonna be the guy who could push them to a Super Bowl or back to the Super Bowl and to get this time You know, I think stranger things have happened, then seeing them goal in for the shot. Lawson. What about the New York Jets? What would it take? Just half a capital. Here's something I don't understand about the pitch. Maybe you guys so the animus. Kids have the draft picks. We know they have second pick. They have the first rounder from Seattle this year. Next year. They're in okay shape in terms of the draft back. And you figure that just would want to start watching. That's easy enough. The Texans would want those draft picks. If your dish on logic and you're gonna have options is probably to go to other teams. Why would you want to play for the Jets? You're going from the most dysfunctional franchise in football, too, may be the second most Dysfunctional Francesca upon. I think Robert sounds Ridic great coach very optimistic about his ability, but You know is that enough? If your son watching, given the lack of receivers they have they're getting outside of Makai effect in the mediocre offensive line. They have their given the dysfunction with that organization. Is there really enough there and shoot? Hey, I'm gonna leave the Texans and pass up the opportunity to go to a better team. Maybe go to the Dolphins that we go to the Patriots. Maybe go to the miners to go to the Jets. Just because I'm interested in working with Barbara. It's Alan. Maybe that's the case that It's a no trade clause. That concept to be is if your red flag for why she wants him might not go to the jet. Bill Aaron Rodgers After the NFC Championship game lost the Tampa Bay was speaking, I don't know, maybe somewhat cryptically about his future, but naturally, a guy who just lost such a big game could could be given some leeway as to what's going through his mind at that time. But then here comes Les Snead in the Los Angeles Rams, not only refusing apparently to commit to general golf for the future, but using Rogers quotes when talking about golf. You think there's anything to that? I mean, are we making too big of a deal of Roger's comments, or is there a chance he could be on the move? You want offenders a chance, right? You know, I was never the giant saying we didn't sign up, go back into trading. And then six months later, he was gone. Or the Cardinals tweeting that Josh Rosen was their guy. And then two months later, the traffic calamari and traded Josh rose, so Mineral anything out, But I just It's in the Packers. If your blanket Christ if you're that the floor Do you really have the guts? Have Aaron Rodgers win M V P and then treat him to play a guy who has never taken an NFL snap. But that's a Bill O'Brien moved to me Where if that move fails, you're getting by about her. How could you were before that move, So I just came to the making that tree even if Aaron Rodgers people finally and I think What Arab actors was doing in that moment. I don't know You got him leaving the team, which is it was saying, Hey, you know something change here and I need a player. I need a player to win this next game. That's what he was saying. Exactly. That's what I think it was really Let's call this off season in a very wide receiver of friendly market. Let's get that second wife receiver for me to work with because that might put us over the top. "Luther King Day with the undefeated and ESPN radio. It's two teams that really do mirror themselves Job. Fallon in the morgue. Jackson, They have a formula that works just the question of whether the rest of the Bills team shows up and plays for the same element. Josh Allen, Baltimore Ravens. They got back from the morgue, Jackson type football. Just be a ball. I was happy to see that he stopped listening to everybody's attention. Special talents various US Any can can mirror this speed a plays at and what he's able to build two of the hottest teams on the girls and the raisins. What did the playoff win Last week means for Lamar Jackson. This is prime time on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Be sure to tell your smart speaker to play ESPN. I'm in the golden alongside Mike Wells, and it's time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk Wireless and we head out to the Goodyear Hotline and bring in Jamison Hensley. ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison What did winning that game last week meaning for Lamar Jackson? It took a lot of weight off my shoulders. I'm throwing a lot of weight because all he had heard that away a year ago at this time after losing to the Titans In the divisional playoff round was Can you win in the post and he he had only been going to? But because he had been so spectacular in the regular season and really below average in the postseason, people kept saying Well, How can he not carry that over into when the games matter the most So for him to go out, have such a great game against the Titans and and and do it in a fashion where After the first quarter. He was down $10 and each of his two previous postseason games is both losses. He faced early deficit and in those previous games. Every time you thought behind. It felt like the Mystics snowballed on him. But last weekend when he faced a 10, not the deficit, kept his composure made big plays brought this team back. Actually, first time he rallied the rave, in fact, from a double digit deficit, the first time his whole career So now he was able to win a postseason game. But he was able also approved. Hey, I can rally these guys when I need to. Jamison. How you doing? Good. Good. Good to catch up with you. When you think about the Ravens, people all the hype surrounding Josh Alan and what Buffalo has done. I mean, the one with 10 out of the last 11 games. If I'm not mistaken this Lamar Jackson and Ravens duty mind being underdog because Of not having the expectations of having to be the favorite in a playoff game. You mean this is a very unusual situation for them, because when you have the Mark Jackson in most games, you can be considered the favorite. It's one of the few times I think you have to go back. Tonto, was it? It was made it just one time earlier this year where they were actually a betting underdog s. So it is an unusual situation for them, but in talking toe Lamar and talking to the players and the coaches this week It was a much more relaxed feel. I'm not saying that if they lose this game, it doesn't really matter to them. But I think going into this game not being it's not having the expectation that they're supposed to win this game and having already won a postseason game. I it almost. Could you get the sense that No, it didn't have much to lose in this one. And I think in that situation, I wouldn't be surprised if because they're now much looser than they were last week. If they have a quicker start, and that's one of the big problems. With the Mark Jackson this Ravens team. They have hid, not score one point in the first quarter in the in the in the postseason with Lamar to three games. They've been outscored the first court 23 Nothing. So I think The looser they might have a fist to start today. He's Jamison Hensley, ESPN Ravens reporter. This is prime time on ESPN radio. I'm in the golden alongside Mike Wells. Want to give everyone a quick score? Update. Green Bay Up 25 to 10 with 5 50 left. In the third quarter. Jamison Lotta Quarter bags from that 2018 draft in the playoffs this year. Two of them, you know, playing later tonight, and Lamar in Josh Baker Mayfield playing tomorrow. Who won the 2018 quarterback draft. Pressure. A. Honestly it's the two projects that I mean, when you when you looked at that draft, Baker Mayfield was a proven winner. And Arnold was the prototypical size. You know, he was the cleanest prospect. And then you had Josh Rosen, who was considered the most NFL ready, so I mean, they were set it up and down. The first three seasons. Sam Donald could be traded this all season and just throws that has won his 14. So when you look at Josh Alan and Lamar Jackson things air, two quarterbacks that I think most people thought if they were gonna really breakthrough is probably gonna be in your four. Your five. But we're third year and they're playing for a trip to go the F C championship game, so they have really exceed actually ankle Mark Jack. He made his big jump. In his rookie season to his second season recently to now, Josh Allen is making that jump from a second year to his 30th. James and I saw they forgot about Josh Rosen. Me. Emmett and I were talking about that 2018 class earlier in the show, and we were completely forgot to mention Josh Rose's name. That's probably a good thing. Unless you're the Arizona Cardinals and talking about trying to forget that way. When you look at this game, obviously, you know, I watch Josh Allen last week. And what he did to the Colts defense. Um what does Baltimore have to do to try to slow that slow? Josh and Stefan digs down. Well, first, you gotta get a least some pressure on him. And the last time they played Joshua was a different challenge. But it was back in December of 2019. They sacked six times. So the key is Once you get to him, bring him down to the ground, and it's hard said done them. He's a big guy and the ravensdefense coordinator. Don wait, Martingale said. You know what? They went against Derrick Henry. And yes, he was a running back. But the same principles apply that once you get to a big runner like Josh Allen sometime You need to get everybody on him and bring him to the ground, So I think it's not only trying to get pressure on Josh Alan, but it's also making him if you could get that back. Bring him down. Don't let him escape and extend plays. I think that's where the rains are really concerned is what he can escape the pocket and they're pro bowl corners and Marcus Peters and Marla come pick. They could hold coverage for a while, but when you extend plays It really put the law stressful that secondary, So I think that's the biggest concern. The Ravens have go to get shot down. Jamison, which Q B is under more pressure, Alan or Jackson. I actually I think it's more Josh challenges because he's come in. He's you know the home team. You know, Lamar he won last week, but, you know I just don't get the sense that I think last week was up. You know all the quarterbacks. Last week. All the pressure was on the Mark Jackson. I don't see it too much. And honestly, I mean, I see that much when Josh because most people didn't even expect Josh Allen to be at this point in the playoffs. At the beginning of the season. So I do feel, though, with these two quarterbacks going head to head. I think this is going to be the most competitive game that will see all weekend. Hey, you say more competitive than the old man game, Right? Hey, with Joshua Heller. We We kind of joked with Josh Alan and Lamar Jackson 24 You have the History Channel game, Then you have like this one. It's like the Nick Jr cake. Right. Nickelodeon Later, girl. Nothing tonight. Great stuff. Jameson. We appreciate you spending some time with us. Hey, have a great rest Your show, guys. Thank you. Thank you. There he is. "If you're being honest with yourself? Yeah, I thought it even if we did win, maybe I would get somebody that would trip on afterwards. There were a couple of close games. Jacksonville was only down 22 14 at one point. They came on back. Pittsburgh. They scored the touchdown, Mr Two point conversion. No, no, I just mean in General Army if you go back to a Dolphins team that was supposed to be winless last year, and we didn't know how much too or was even going to play this year. Obviously, they started went like one and four. It wasn't a really good start, even one of three to even be in this position. And you gotta get you excited about the future man may care about the future. I'm and now guy don't get me future. Give me now. That's what I'm talking about. And then you would have gone in next week and got your ass handed to you in the playoffs. I just gotta worry about who our next quarterback is gonna be. Can I get you a Matthew staffer? Dolphin jerseys, sir, If it's if it's not fits, it might be fits into again. Next year. No, no, no more to it, too, is gone. He's done so it's over for him. I don't think they're going to give up on him. After the Cardinals did, the Cardinals gave up Josh Rosen. Well, I think Josh rose and into a tunnel below are two completely different situation. You know, there is a small little bit of good of hope that the Dolphins can trade up to get Trevor. I love using that phrase. You know that, don't you? I noticed that, but I think you know if if this keeps saying it enough, baby. Well, if I put my heels three times and say it enough, maybe it will happen. I think the draft if I saw the promotion of it during the championship game last night, I wrote this death. I think it said like April 29th is when the NFL draft is gonna be Artie. We can't do this for the next 3 to 4 months. I'm going to lose my mind. Trevor Lawrence is going to the JAG wires, and that's just I was just, You know, I was hoping that like an urban Meyer or Ryan, they would get the job and take fields with them. Which would drop Trevor one spot. One spot closer does that would be That would still not be you guys getting Trevor Lord in reaching this end of the Jets polar jets and dropped like a punter in the first pick that maybe it will drop through us. Who knows? Again. I can't do this until April. All right. So John Middlecoff is coming up in the bottom of this hour will preview the entire playoff picture coming up next.
