"Josh porter. The oh is he the branch manager. He's the branch manager. Well within our office. I guess michael is the branch manager. Who's the sales manager of scranton. Probably i mean. I don't know i would think stanley because he's a senior. Yeah number in there awhile. Yes but that's a job. We don't ever really recover about us. Yeah so i just thought that was interesting. Well in new york under mifflin. They've got a position for maintenance engineer in albany they need a comptroller to regional managers and in buffalo can't read what it is but they need someone and scranton has two positions available. Well here's the thing for a company that's downsizing and on the verge of collapse wire all of these job openings. What's up. Thank you that too but listen to the jobs that are available in scranton warehouse staff and warehouse may juror but isn't darryl the warehouse manager. Is he looking to leave. What's happening there. What's the story. I don't know i don't know because he is the manager after this michael calls dwight and jim into the conference room and he goes through a list of dwight's complaints and this is my favorite part of this. It's so good and logan made me laugh so hard. All right here are the list of pranks that jim has pulled on. Dwight dwight has reported. Ready okay yes ready genego number one number one. He replaced all dwight's pens and pencils with crayons number two. He had everyone. Call him. Dwayne all day which the tonight by the way. Guess who would sometimes call him. Dwayne who oscar he did for real we for real. there were scenes. We'd be like. Listen dwayne tweet. It's detroit and he'd be like hat crap. That is so funny. Somehow it went into oscars brain in real life. Okay well. Jim also placed a bloody glove dwight's desk drawer and tried to convince him that he had committed murder. Yes number four. Jim told white. There was an abandoned infant in the women's room. He went in to save the child and saw meredith on the can. Yes this one is my favorite of all time of any prank ever written about on the office. It's just a sentence. We never see this play out but my imagination of it is so rich. Dwight says he hit himself in the head with his phone and michael's like what. How could that have been gyms fall. And then jim in his yeah. He and john's reaction he laughs. He says that he put nichols in. Dwight's headset over the course of a long time so that it got heavier and heavier and then one day he took them all out so that went or the phone it would be super light. I just that that is brilliant. Brilliant greg daniels club that is brilliant and that the greatest. That is jim doing the slow play that is. That's i think why like it is off the patients required for that prank. All right there's more go next one. Is that every time. Dwight typed his name. It would just say diaper and then the last one is that by the end of the day. Dwight complains that his desk was moved to feet closer to the copier and jim admits that yes. Every time. jim got up from his desk. He moved it a little closer to the copier but then gems like well when you when you put them all together like that sound really nice like oh that sounds like maybe my life is kinda sad. Maybe that's what. I spent my time doing at sixteen minutes. Thirty nine seconds. I have a card that just says a montage of sas. Oh it's your montage of sas a montage of theft. We see phyllis she slams the fridge door on angela. Pam is glaring. Eating yogurt angry eating yogurt. And then you have like creed. And he's looking crazy and he's holding a pencil like it's a knife and i mean it just goes all through stanley and kevin and kelly and toby. Everyone is ticked off. Yeah everyone's just mad. It's a mad montage. It's a sas montage really. It's a montage of us. It is well eighteen minutes. We have a fan. Catch george felton. Okay dwight's id. Badge has been redone. His middle name is correct. It says kurt but you know what if you look closely. He's still listed as a security threat. He didn't get that removed. Good catch george. I liked that there is a deleted scene. Where pam chose jim her. Id badge and her clearance. Level is red and gems like. What does that mean enjoyed like. I'm not gonna tell you. Although pam doesn't seem to know what it means which i thought was very funny. All right so guys. It's the end of the day and michael. Thanks that the way he could really boost everyone's morale after this hard day of resolving conflicts is to get a group photo he wants a group photo stanley's like are you kidding me seriously so he gets everybody to stand but lots happening like no one's smiling. This is when jim tells pam that he's the one who made the complaint against her about the wedding thing and they said he was just defending awkward. He's having this conversation. During a group photo of his co workers and your like sandwiched between phyllis and stanley and fills in listening to everything. Her reactions are amazing so good she literally says oh dear yes i have a fan catch another fan catch from carlene mitchell. You know how earlier you were mentioning. How your stepson. Jack loves talking head were. Dwight says he doesn't smile. Because it's a sign of weakness and primates guests who smiling and the group photo. Who do i. Yeah doriot were doing fan catch by carly mitchell. Eighteen minutes fifty seconds. he's smiling. You know what i like. This is like layered like emotionally for dwight because he would not smile on his own but he will smile for. Michael and that is his weakness. Michael is his weakness. Oh yeah well. I have a jenna catch. Okay for this group photo moment you know. Michael says it's really hard to get a photo of fifteen people. Yeah he says that's really hard. Guess what there's only fourteen people in the photo shoot a catch the catch i love and it's true. He never does get a photo so he photoshop the group photo. He says. it's amazing what you can do with photoshop. And that's.

"Got it with the friendly dog. Well there right so now jan enter. She's looking for michael. Because things have changed josh porter through them for a loop. They've had to reorganize restructure and she wants to let him know that. Now scranton is going in stamford is going to be merging into scream right. Yes but dot will. Michael has been ignoring phone calls and lady. We have some manager. What's the film south's well. It is at twenty minutes forty seconds. She looks at jan and she goes. We know the branches closing and she gives jan de snarky est. Look it's so amazing. It cracked me up. And i was looking online for like sassy office moments. I just wanted to see if this had been on may sixteenth two thousand and twenty which is just a few days ago from this recording. Right yes there is a new youtube video collage that someone made called sassy moments on youtube. Sassy moments from the office. I think they have been listening to the podcast because all of a sudden there's the sassy is moments collage on youtube angela. You one hundred percent started sas. You started early with angeles tasks and if anyone is out there using sass or sassine or referring to something sas. I want everyone to know that you started it. One hundred percent you trade a you should have trademarked it. Well i just couldn't believe there's now just now like just this week. There's a youtube collage called sassy moments of the office. Anyway there's major philip sas here so yes jan tells everyone the scranton branch is safe for. Now there's a lot of mixed emotion. Some people are really happy. Some people are sad. Kevin and angela have a huge hug. Oh lady we got a fan question about that. From phoebe tomac when kevin hugs angela and picks her up. It looks like angela got crushed a little bit and she wants to know you got hurt. No i did not get hurt. that was just. I think brian having a little bit of fun because he is such a big guy and he can pick me up really easily win. Would our characters ever hug or be this happy together. So that was just something he added. It wasn't in the script and he and i cracked up. I think you see me. Like i think genuinely laughing because it made us laugh so also in the scene angela pam asks jan is anyone coming back to scranton We know who she's thinking about. Yeah and over in stamford. Andy is asking jim if he's going to go back to scranton and he sort of says he doesn't know yet he's not sure he is. He's thinking about it. And then ryan in the kitchen is like i'm a little nervous about jim coming back. I just hope it's not weird..

"This character has been with us for three seasons. He first came up in the pilot. We don't see him but he's mentioned in a scene where jan-michael or talking about downsizing we finally meet him on valentine's day and now he's leaving and guys josh porter. We've talked about this. Before was played by charles esten. He appeared in eight episodes of the show. He did a weird pilot with rain. Wilson yes. We never got to work with him. But he's an awesome guy and to commemorate his time on the show. We reached out to him and we got to chat with him a little bit all right. We're so excited to have him here. Let's.

"Our if you've ever been fired but i couldn't imagine getting the news michael guy and john's like well you know. They believe that josh porter is going to have a big role in the future of the company and michael goes kinda roll king of the stupid universe. Just could you imagine like firing someone basically. Who's who's having this kind of a mean. Could you imagine firing someone or being fired. And then having their wind up mechanical tee off script. It was an accident and by the way this points to what amazing actors. Stephen moore are because they just stayed in the moment and reacted to it. As if that was meant to it was not meant opera and couldn't be more resilient that you're firing the guy who's so incompetent on so many levels and his lackey teeth go off. Yes amazing all right. I'm going to move us along. Michael has a talking head where he says. Let see josh. Find another stanley. Phyllis or heaven. Show me that farm. Show me that farm. And during that talking head we kind of we see creed eating his mung beans at his desk. We see phyllis knitting and we had a fan question from stephanie. Miller in this episode. When we see phyllis knitting can she nitin real-life did she met that whole scarf. Her characters working on you guys. She is one hundred percent fake knitting. phyllis cannot knit. Didn't she do so good. Had a basket full of knitting stuff. They'd made it part of her character. It's set next to her desk all nine seasons and it just sat there and sometimes if she had to do background stuff but this was a great panning shot. Because you know. Michael says there is no stanley tree. And he's napping and then they said do you think the world is crawling with villas. And she's knitting. So was this great visual. But now phyllis can't knit. Yeah now. no that's one of my favorite talking heads. Though i love that one i do too. I do too so then. Michael is walking around the office. Dwight can tell something's wrong. But michael isn't spilling and this is my other favorite talking head from this episode. Which is dwight's talking head where he says when you're close to someone you can read them like a book and he says michael's book is titled something weird is going on colon. What did jan say. The michael scott story by michael scott with dwight sh- route. Alright that last part is not in the script. And i could kind of tell that there was an improv there because whenever rain improv at the end of a talking head or the end of a scene i feel like you can see him smile just a little bit in the corners of his mouth and his eyes so i reached out to make sure and he told me that he and rain expanded on the book title on the day on set. They kept throwing out ideas. The original was just supposed to be something. Weird is going on colin. What did jan say and mike. Throughout the michael scott story and then rain added with dwight shrew. Yeah for sure..

There's another class action lawsuit that was filed on behalf of men. Well dresner so you know. It's just beginning right now in in. Who knows how that's going to develop with more more survivors. And he can he. He gives you a detail that you don't get as a lay person looking through the files right so there were images taken in october. Twenty eighteen of major concrete damage in the on the pool deck area and below that in the parking deck and you can see images of the columns that are sprawling. Exactly what i described before you can actually see where the concrete is falling off and you can see you. Can you can see the rebar inside there. It was also the fact that this building had major water leaks major major problems with funneling water out and away from the building when it rained a lot or When water got onto the building in to the building the again in these reports that you can find online it shows just how bad that was and how there was also sprawling on a lot of the the deck areas of the. "So that's a that's a pretty good interview you can check that out. Learn about that. But the best one that i've found thus far is another youtube video on a channel called building. Integrity is hosted by a guy named josh porter. Who's the president of consult engineering in punta gorda florida. The title of that video is surf side building collapse. Miami florida what they knew and a correction. He's this joan has been talking a lot about this in. He is a consultant for four-building managers for for people who run these large condos these large buildings. And he's he's very good at looking at documentation. What he does in this videos. He goes through a lot of those documents that i mentioned before that have been released. It's exposed which is not a good thing at all because it'll rust much more quickly right. Yes and to my understanding. From at least what josh porter is saying and again many other experts who are giving their information on here as soon as that is occurring it becomes an exponential problem right where it increases very rapidly. The danger increases very rapidly and again. I can't speak to the building manager. I can't speak to anybody involved in any of this but it appears that they were aware and they were attempting to fix it. It's just it was too. It seems like it was too late. And who knows if that's what actually caused the collapse. I can't say that. I'm not an expert. Josh porter would not say that. That was the reason the engineer. Msnbc would not say that that concrete degrading was the reason who knows because there's still things that have been happening. all around surf. Side like these spontaneous sinkholes that have been occurring. There are all kinds of things that could have at least been a factor right. I think i think for my money. The most important thing about this is if you do live in a condo like you said no if you do live in an apartment building you can go in a parking deck. If it's below your structure you can go. You know if you're allowed to go into the sub basement the basement levels and you can actually with your eyes see something like sprawling or you can get on your building manager or whoever you have contact with their and you know ask them about the most recent survey reports you know to to any structural damage. I i don't know it's certainly going. It's making me. It's getting me anxiety. I live in a house. And i'm thinking about the structure of my home and whether or not everything is sound here. Oh especially considering. How many like an in the this tangentially related but in many parts of the us housing market now people are having such a hard time buying homes even if they could normally afford it there other folks showing up you know with just cash on hand ten twenty percent more than asking price and one of the big things that's happening to people is that they are being pressured to waive the homeowner inspection Which will inevitably lead to more problems down the road. The only question is the magnitude of those problems. And it's the problem. This situation is exacerbated. Due to geography the ocean eats buildings. It always has passed. It's the same with Cars for example. You know you're supposed to be one of those carmax reports if you get a used car. you something about florida like cars that came from florida. That is something that has to be reported because of the corrosive qualities of salt water and it actually gets into the air so that can cause slow rust corrosion on say the undercarriage of a car. Or you know. Eat small holes through structural parts of the car that could cause the cars life to be Lessened right I used to own a home and we had an inspection done. And let me tell you that inspection certainly doesn't uncover everything it turns out that there were all kinds of weird band-aids that the previous owner had done like filled. You know rotting portions of the back porch with bondo know or covered over all kinds of issues with the roof and they're worse structural problems in moisture infiltration into the sub basement. And it freaked me out. It was a real anxiety for me. Being a homeowner. I was terrified. The place was gonna crumble into the ground. Well there's something of note here from the previous concrete damage in the parking deck specifically was repaired with an poxy where they just filled the cracks. And and you know usually that substance hardens. It works in again. According to the experts you can fix broken and cracked concrete with an poxy. But if that rebar as we're talking about here is damaged then. The poxy doesn't matter it it's going to continue to degrade so the the the other point i want wanna bring out. Here is water damage. It wasn't just the salt air there was causing the corrosion and the problems. "On K G O eight ten. Hi, chip Franklin with you here on K G O still to come. We'll get to a little bit more about projects town's appearance on CNN and reminding you at seven o'clock that Patterson, and John Rothman will be in here to take more of your phone calls. Sundance premiered a video called leaving Netherland Neverland excuse me, which is about Michael Jackson. That's that was his state. No, it's no doesn't exist anymore right than they take it all apart or something recently. Anyway, this is I just wish you told me earlier the description of this this. Documentary at Sundance joining us right now is our our film critic gives you a film critic who hates movies, Josh board. Josh have you heard anything about this? I have heard stuff about this. It's the two boys that are claiming he molested them. And you know, what I can't figure out is. This is probably going to be the documentary that makes Michael Jackson become like the Harvey Weinstein. Even though he's not alive. Where radio stations are gonna have to stop playing his music and things of that nature. I really think that's what's going to happen with this. Boy, I can't figure out is police officers said I don't know maybe a couple of years ago is that they found all kinds of child porn at his house when they were doing something. And I'm like, why didn't that make bigger news at the time? Why is it this documentary? It always seems to be documentaries like Blackfish that sinks SeaWorld protesting every day. But a documentary. It's so weird that the power of documentaries down, and that's new, you know, that's one of the things I'm trying to remember the first. I've ever I ever saw. And I can't I was when they really started to come into my life. I remember when Blair with a buddy of mine was a cameraman is friends with Ed Sanchez, one of the directors of Blair witch project who is a big fan of documentaries. And he wanted to make a movie kind of like a documentary, and he was really successful. I did that scare you that movie. Blair witch. Yeah. I thought it was creepy. I mean, why went into it knowing it was not real it's treat. Yeah. It's still creepy. And there's something about a power of documentary and then. I don't know if it was maybe it was Netflix that really allowed. It was a form for people to make dachshund to put them on there. Right. Without having to go through the theaters and all the cost of that. What was the one about the up in Milwaukee that was real big on net flicks? For a while the guy looks like making of a murderer. And it's I mean documentaries. Don't normally do. Well, I wonder what the all time grossing doc is any idea. Josh. No. But I know that the Mr. Rogers one from this year, which didn't get nominated roster for some reason it made a ton of money, and it was considered one of the more successful documentaries. Yeah. It's interesting. I think and of course, documentaries. You don't have stars. So that saves you a hell of a lot of money. And you can go to a documentary with an after sad kind of exception will according to the rap dot com from an article last year Fahrenheit nine eleven thousand four hundred million dollars. Don't know if those are really documentaries. Well, I mean, it's not a movie. Yeah. Documenting a moment in history. Doc, you know, it's funny because Michael Laura actually Sledge's thing. So it like Blackfish made up a lot of stuff in there documentary now stuff, I mean, everybody loves the documentary supersize me and Morgan spurlock made up a bunch of stuff easy meeting. Now that you never really had high blood pressure all this other stuff. And it's crazy. Oh from that super size me documentary Donald food every day for a month. Right. One again. Yeah. Exactly. Just you know, stocks. Oh, I mean, I guess if you're going to say it's a documentary. It should be a documentary bowling for on with us. Won't you be my neighbor that you just mentioned is on the list number twelve out of fifteen twenty two million dollars. So number one was Fahrenheit did and Michael Moore other documentaries in there in the past. So he has psycho in two thousand seven twenty four million then. Yeah. Bowling for Columbine, which was two thousand two and that was twenty one million. You guys ever see man on wire, which is the best. Documentary ever. Linda, I was that about the guy that the man on like the wire got he walks across on one does. I didn't see it. No. I like, and there's there's two different types of ways to make a documentary reason we're talking about this. If you just joined us as Josh porter Caja, film critic is that this Michael Jackson. I think you're right. This is this has been percolating for years about Michael Jackson. And this guy's obviously. But he's been broken for a long time when he changed his face and skin color and all the things that he did. And then we heard the MacAulay Culkin and the other stories from people, and then it was like the one there are multi million dollar settlement with one child at claimed. He was about one child his family settled for twenty million. And I argued with some music lover about this that said, well that doesn't mean anything people settle cases all the time. And I go somebody's falsely accuses you of molesting their kids. You don't settle for twenty million. Just so it goes away, you say all use that twenty million to fight you and prove that I'm innocent. And you know, so I don't buy that. Remember back in the day when he had to do all those TV interviews, and he came out and said kind of his Bill Clinton moment like I did not a mess with those kids or whatever by in. I was telling tip off air. I remember when he passed away. I was a reporter. And you know, they want me to go ask people like what do you think of Michael Jackson? And I'm like, I'm I completely ignoring the fact that he didn't kids, you know. And they're like, oh, you know, it was this debate over whether you're talking about it on the day that he died, and then we will wait a minute. I mean, it's a pretty much. Everyone knows that Michael Jackson messed with kids. But we're just ignoring that. And by the way, I love that you say that because if Roman Polanski dies is everybody's gonna go on my job wasn't Chinatown. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Let's work during a big part of this guy's legacy. I I think the music erases it. At our Kelly. Now, it does Michael Jackson is one of the best selling artists of all time. If not that was his cover for being what he did. Why today if I walked up to people today and say? The people on the street. And I say I say Michael Jackson, you say they're not going to say pedophile. They're going to go. Billy j. Right. So if I said that if I said OJ Simpson they go murderer, right? I wouldn't say knows he's headed cleanse. I just want to remind people there this this documentary has they they talk about scenes in this that he did these kids that will make you puke. The people were leaving this thing just shocked. I mean, they'd heard rumors, but some of the stuff, I think some people don't even want to see it. I've seen a lot of celebrities like tweeting. I don't wanna see ya. I want to close that door in my head. And and and get rid of the I would you never want to hear another Michael Jackson can never hear my problem. I have so many Michael Jackson songs that I love and I'm like. Different. I don't see Mel Gibson films, and I don't see Roman Polanski Mohi refuse I refuse to moon moon. Walk. There you go Janis of here. So this this obviously at Sundance it'll probably go to the theaters just for short time. And then it'll be on Netflix or whomever anything in the theaters for seeing this weekend. Yes. I just saw the spider man animated movie and blew me away. I was putting off seeing it. And I thought it was. Letter to comic books. It was incredibly funny and sweet everybody should see that movie. They'll love it. How about that? I saw it. I thought it was excellent. I yeah..

"Law. Now back to chip Franklin on. Well, our film guy is MIA. So maybe Josh is in a place. You can't get the reform that such sports. So we'll start without him. And maybe getting back and. The nominations were this morning, and they like five thirty in the morning or something like do it so early? I mean, maybe the early because we're on the westbound. Yeah. I think that's big part of it. Don't they announce it in LA? Yeah. But they do it for the east coast because there's more people because matters more than the west. I mean, southbound bicoastal. I heard that's. The idea of of the Academy Award when I was a kid who I remember. It was a big deal stand up on Sunday nights. And being able to watch it and it was. Little we had one flat screen TVs. Well, it was a big deal. But I don't think back then remember when there was five movies. And now they've they've ended bigger, and it seems like there's still crappy movies and get in there. Somehow. It's not like, I just say, let's just go down the move. So best picture, by the way. You're welcome to get on this. If you saw any of these movies, which one really Bill your way. Eight hundred eighty eight ten the nomination was announced this morning by two people whose name I don't know Kamal, then Johnny nanjiani and Tracy Ellis Ross. I know these people are, but the best pictures are Black Panther. Didn't see it. Did you see Black Panther? And yeah, I saw. I didn't say I don't go to the movies that much black klansman saw that. Excellent. Yes. Blaming rhapsody. Clint didn't see my wife did liked it a lot the favorite. She said was the most bizarre thing. Okay. Yeah. Lesbian action. But that's it. But it was just a weird story didn't mind a lesbian action. It just best picture nominees though. For for elites in Roman. Got like ten right? Yeah. Green book, which is I didn't see Roma. I didn't see Rome stars born. You saw me as I did. Excellent. Okay. I have not seen the stars born yet. So I, but I have seen vice. So if I had to pick from the from the ones I've seen I probably have to pick. It's a tie between vice in green book. Oh, gosh. Now, so mine is. Black panther. And here's the other thing. How do you judge something as a best movie when you say, how do you judge the quality of a movie the motion experience intellectual for me? It's very emotional. And I have to be engaged in the movie the whole time. Like if I'm looking at it, literally, I doc off points. If I look at the watch if I'm like, what time is it then? Yeah. Of course, I mean, Black Panther and black clansmen are pretty decently long movies. Both of them. Josh nice of you to join us this sorry. Hey. For some reason. The phone wasn't going through. Who you're going to see Kris Kristofferson? Oh, really what does he like it a a r p special or something? He was just in the news with the whole Sinead. O'connor? Name name is biggest hit Nikki I didn't say it was a fan. Movie and Bobby McGee. And he also and helped me make it through the night. He's written some big classic movies too. Yes. He's been in a lot of the stars born speak of what she was in the ring. Bring it all home. We were just talking about. Whoa. Josh. When you judge a movie, do you judge it emotion? What how much is emotional? How much is intellectual and how much is this. You know, how movies are made? And you kind of appreciate that, dude. That is so deep. I just look at it on on how entertained I was and. You know? So sometimes all of those things play a factor. If you're watching a dumb comedy like my wife's still thinks it's crazy that I loved stepbrothers as much as I do that. Sometimes a dumb comedy like that. It's just really finding out. Yes. But to classic. I mean, John John C Reilly is that is that guy's amazing. He can be taken to anything. He's. Of this generation. I think it's funny that you mentioned him being underrated. Because everybody talking about these stubs for the Oscars. Like, Bradley Cooper is director in this match. But him not getting laid firsthand and Ali is a shame. And nobody's talking about that. I don't know why. Well, so so again to you it's not as deep as that to me. It's like when I look at I think, and I liked vice a lot more than you did because I revealed just what a son of a bitch. Dick Cheney was what a horrible. But how is that? Really entertaining. It's not entertained Jimmy. I mean did the born on the fourth of July was entertaining. Yes. Yes. Schindler's List with entertaining. Even though some Jewish people. I know don't. So you could be you have dark subject matter the entertain Jewish people like Schindler's List. I can't imagine. Yeah. That's that's a classic Seinfeld thing where he was kissing. All right. So so we went down are less than an invite some people call in because we will break here and come back, and again talk more with again, Josh port were you going to mess up your concert thing? Can you start too late? I was just I was just in an area that I had outsource. Okay. All right. So the of all the movies, and then we'll get to the actors. But so you think you I know you go for green book. Right. That's your film. Right. Yeah. And I'm glad I got a bunch of nominations. Yeah. I thought it was really really good. But I didn't like it as much as you. I liked vice better, and I like black klansman almost as much, and I know you went crazy about that. I'm gonna talk about Spike Lee. And we're going to play you some sound for Kim basing her in nineteen eighty nine. Have you heard this sound yet? You'll like this is Josh porter. Film critic who hates the movies and your your comments welcome as well at eight hundred eighty eight ten best movie best actor best actress. We'll just invest director. We'll do it from that coming up. That's nikki. I'm chips schedule. Franklin.
