Coronavirus Is Surging In The US
"One, But however you define it. Corona virus in the U. S is surging. Some parts of the country air passing more restrictions to try to combat the record number of cases this as we have yet another Corona virus outbreak in the White House. NPR's Alison Aubrey is with us now. Good morning, Alison. Good morning, Rachel. So when we say the White House we mean in the orbit of Vice President Mike Pence, several aides to the vice president have tested positive for covered 19, including his chief of staff. Nevertheless, the vice president decided to keep traveling to keep campaigning. What's the reaction been to them? You know, the decision to keep his travel schedule intact was made in consultation with the White House medical unit, the spokesperson said. Yesterday and pencils office says this is in accordance with CDC guidance for essential personnel there, basically making the case he has Essential work to do, including on the campaign trail. But public health experts Rachel are really questioning this definition. Here's Josh Sharfstein of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He served in the FDA under President Obama. The vice president should be limiting interactions with others because he could be harboring the virus and he could wind up becoming infectious. And so if there are essential activities that he needs to do in person, he should take extra precautions to do those, but otherwise I think he should be staying at home. Especially given around the country, including places. Pence is scheduled to travel such as Minnesota. The viruses circulating widely, right, So let's talk about that. Alison. What do the numbers tell us about the virus right now? The U. S has been averaging about 68,000 new cases per day. This is about a 30% increase compared to just two weeks ago. In recent days, new cases have reached record levels in several states, Utah, Tennessee, Illinois in Chicago over the weekend. Stronger restrictions took effect of bars and restaurants must close earlier in the evening. This is part of a curfew in the city. Other parts of Illinois have stricter rules, too, including new limits on the number of people allowed together and Rachel. They're certainly a lot of reminders around the nation to stay. Vigil eight, right? Hospitalizations from Cove. It have been on the rice too. I mean, does that mean we're likely to see more fatalities in coming weeks? You know, probably there are still a lot of people dying about 775 people per day in the U. S. On average. That's a lot lower than the highs of last spring. Part of this can be explained by the increase in cases among younger people who are less likely to die. But Rachel there's also been an improvement in treating people in hospitals. Physician Anish Mata is an infectious disease expert at Emory University. He is also a principal investigator for the H M Death Severe trialled at Emory. Last week, the FDA gave this antiviral drug full approval. Red death, severe reduced recovery time to 10 days for 15 days and also importantly, run desecrated treated patients had less use of mechanical valve leaders and other advanced oxygen's airport techniques. Compared to patients who didn't get room disappear. Now it's important to point out Rachel. This is not a home run treatment. It hasn't been shown to significantly prevent deaths among very sick patients, but it does have some benefits and Allison doctors now have other treatments they can offer as well as from desperation. That's right. Doctors have more tools in the toolkit. Now they have You know steroids, such as Dixon Math Zone better information about when to put people on blood thinners. Overall, the death rate appears to have dropped. In fact, a new study that included an analysis of thousands of hospitalized patients found that at the start of the pandemic patients had about a 25% chance of dying. Now they have an 8% chance. So still high, but definitely improvement. Yeah, definitely So younger people, you know, you mentioned more younger people have been diagnosed with the virus. So as we start to think about Thanksgiving Is there any way Tio Tio ensure that college students don't bring the virus home as they leave for break? You know, if you have a college student coming home to you find out if they're being tested, many schools are offering or even requiring an exit test or a departure test. Just before students depart for Thanksgiving break. I spoke to David Paul Thiel, He's a professor at the Yale School of Public Health about this He says. Of course, it's easy to identify symptomatic people. But this isn't good enough. I'm worrying about the student who feels just fine but who happens to have been exposed recently and who could be heading home to visit an elderly relative. And so we don't want to be sending little ticking time bombs home for Thanksgiving. I completely agree that we need to have everybody tested within 72 hours of departure. Now. Not every school can manage this given the cost. But many campuses are offering departure test, including big schools like Ohio State and many small liberal arts schools, too. During such as families that have college age kids either, right? I mean, my own family. We're trying to figure out what we do anything. We're all trying to figure this out, right? Everyone started figured out. So what can you tell us of this boy now, Zim? Well,

Jon Grudens Raiders and Tom Bradys Bucs: A Special Relationship
"Paul duty as I have a question for you where are you right now? I am in an RV at an RV park in Las Vegas and barring my mom and dad's RV while I'm here covering the now Las Vegas Raiders Paul Gutierrez not only covers the raiders for ESPN. He's written a book about Raiders Fandom and followed the team Vegas kind of living like. A little bit. Paul I of about fifty fall of questions about what life in that our views like. But it does feel like the ability to pick up and react to sudden schedule changes is especially important to covering the raiders these days starting with what's happening right now, we are talking on Thursday evening ahead of this highly anticipated raiders game, and there is a Kovic scenario that you've been covering in depth so. What do we know about the game schedule? What do we know about who's playing or who is not playing? Basically, what has happened is is right tackle. Trent Brown tested positive for covert. Now as part of the protocols here anybody who's deemed a high risk contact with him has to self isolate for at least five days plus one which would be the. Last point of contact, which was practice on Monday they are all there. They were all there together It's the raiders entire starting offensive line, plus let's just throw safety Jonathan Abram in there as well. So man, all of those guys were just placed on the covid nineteen list again doesn't mean any of them tested positive. I was actually told that none of them. But as part of the protocols they have to selfies late for five days. Another other source told me that they've been doing virtual preparation. In case they can indeed get cleared play against the buccaneers in the meanwhile, it was supposed to be a big Sunday night football game. Yes. The League wanted to make sure that that game actually happens. So they bumped the raiders out of their move Seattle in Arizona into that spot. So a game will happen well, guess what if you guys I just mentioned you consistently Test negative on their Cova test the rest of the week and then again Sunday. Morning will then they'll be cleared to play. But at what time? Sunday morning Oh. Yeah. kickoffs at one o'clock. So the backstory all that as well. I gotTA catch my breath here when I started figure this out understandably. Yeah. They on their fifty three man roster. They currently have five backup offensive lineman. That's WHO's been trodden. They've been trying out there in practice every day. That's who Derek Carr has been had protecting him. That's who Josh Jacobs has been trying to run holes through those five guys plus they also have two guys on the practice squad that they could suit up if need be. So as we sit here right now on on Thursday late afternoon the raiders starting offensive line is anchored by Andre James and if you need to know who that is I got a couple of media guides for you can look about. Paul Creek me. If I'm wrong here, but I believe this is the very first case of an entire position group being taken down by cove like I know that we've had players here and there. You put on this list but in terms of the magnitude of what the raiders are facing with the offensive line, this feels extreme. Yeah. An and it's part of the protocol. Really. Because only one guy really has tested positive but it's out of the abundance of caution which we've heard a lot of since since the pandemic hit right you've got to self isolate you gotta make sure you don't test positive or show any symptoms, and even if you don't show any symptoms, still self isolate because you could be symptomatic. It's just very bizarre. It's a strange world we're living in Derek Carr said this week that you know he's been with the team for seven years seen a lot of weird things. He's this is the weirdest thing he's ever seen and it's worth noting like weird is by no means foreign to this organization even within this context I mean, I still need help Paul disentangling what exactly happened for instance with Jon Gruden their head coach who took an approach to corona virus with the team earlier this year that had me confused the media confused, and then ultimately Jon Gruden himself pretty angry at everybody. Yeah. So beginning at Camp, we show up in a media member. We have to test every day just to get in I have fifty two on my belt. All negative so far, which is a good thing Jon gruden passes out t shirts to the media with there waiting for us as we walk in the media room that say crush the virus because I was going to be his mantra he took issue with the NFL network reporting that he faked having the virus but yet kind of just went away then on the home opener on. Monday night football when he later would get fine for not wearing his mask properly, he brings it up himself and says that he never faked the virus it as a matter of fact, he did have it. So he talked about just how it was not fun. It made him feel bad and this is all before training camp. When he said he he went through this and beat it in in that. He has the utmost respect for it and he still wants to crush it in beat it into the ground like it was some sort of opponent.
Supreme Court allows Pennsylvania mail-in ballots to be counted after Election Day
"Last night the show we told you about how Democrats were celebrating the Supreme Court decision not to block a ruling by the Pennsylvania State Supreme. Court. Decision that would allow absentee ballots to be counted in that state even if they arrive up to three days after election. Tonight some experts are warning that if you look closely, there's a reason to worry about what four of the conservative justices on the spring quarter up to. So there were four who did want to take up the case they wanted to take up the challenge. They did not explain why they did. There was opinion issued but boxes millhauser points out quote in their briefs. The GOP hones in on the word legislator arguing that only Pennsylvania state legislature may set the state's rules for choosing presidential electors not the state Supreme Court. Okay so they're saying look don't listen to our state Supreme Court Supreme Court of the United States you guys can overrule them, and if the descending justices were considering accepting that argument, then they're basically toying with the idea that federal courts can just step in and tell states how to interpret their own laws, their own state constitutions plus it's not clear. We've heard the end of this particular case millhauser points out quote. The GOP may be able to raise this issue again after Amy Coney Berties confirmed potentially securing court order requiring states like Pennsylvania to toss out an unknown number of ballots that arrive after election day the election is closed that could be enough to change the result. Those four conservative justices basically laid out an invitation to come back and challenge those ballots when the court is even more favorable to Republicans than it is now when they have a five four majority. One of the people who who filed the supreme. Court on behalf of Pennsylvania is State's Attorney General Josh. Shapiro and he joins me now. All right. This is. The actual federal civil procedure questions here are actually so complicated and I don't think I. Did a great job explaining just now to be honest as I read it. So let's let's just sort of set it up. You have a state constitution in Pennsylvania guarantees people right to vote. Correct. Correct. And There was a lawsuit that said look. The current rules for counting absentee ballots, which which would not count ones that were mailed in good faith and sent before the election day and happened to come in a few days after that's denying people their right to vote and the supreme. Court said of your state said, that's correct under Pennsylvania State Constitution, we have to count those votes is that correct? Yeah that's exactly right. I mean look. Boil this down. This is a matter of state law. There was interpreted by the highest court in our state, our state Supreme Court, and our State Supreme Court said very clearly that you know basically when in doubt err on the side of inclusion or in franchise -ment. Unfortunately, what you have are repeated attacks against our election laws here in Pennsylvania by Donald, trump in his enablers trying to make it harder for people to vote trying to make it easier for ballads to be discarded, and so I've been in court time and time again, defending the right for legal eligible votes to be counted and to make sure the Pennsylvanians can be heard I think Donald Trump is afraid of candidly is having all legal eligible votes in Pennsylvania County because. I think he'll come out on the short end of that stick at the ballot box just as he has in the courthouses where we've beat him, he's over threes got a big fat over on his record and I. Think if he continues down this track here, you know really late in the fourth quarter to try and make it harder for people to vote he'll continue to lose in court. So you this appeal, right? So the State Supreme Court says look yes but. The State Constitution Pennsylvania. Says we we want people to vote for right to vote. We're going to try to interpret this in a way that maximizes legitimate votes you beginning counted not thrown on technicalities. The Republican Party of your state doesn't like this opinion that and appeal it and they asked the Supreme Court to step in and blocked that ruling. And it looks like four conservative justices were interested in hearing that argument. Does that were you all? Well. It does in the sense that it kind of flies in the face of of something going to nerd out on you here for a second flies in the face of something known as the pursell doctrine which ineffective says that federal courts should exercise extreme caution. Before interfering with state election law and that extreme caution gets even more extreme. The closer you get to an election we're not only fourteen days away from election day. We're already voting here in Pennsylvania more than a million Pennsylvanians have already voted. So the idea that the Supreme Court of the United States would step on step in on what is clearly. A state constitutional law question interpreting state law is a bit troublesome. Nevertheless, they didn't muster the votes necessary to stop or block Pennsylvania election law,
U.K. Moves Toward Ethically Controversial Coronavirus Vaccine Trial
"Vaccine Trials are happening all over the globe today. The UK government announced funding for phase. One of something called a human challenge trial for a corona virus vaccine. The process will require young healthy volunteers to be infected with the virus in an effort to speed up vaccine testing a company called H Vivo and Imperial College London. Have the contract is set up the first part of that process. Here's more from the world's caroline dealer the idea itself sounds wild intentionally infect people with the very virus returning our lives upside down to avoid. People hear about these trials. Many people's immediate reaction is, how could it be ethical but Oxford bioethicist deb Yom row gic says, it's possible if certain conditions are met one of those conditions is that the expected benefits of the research outweigh the risks. In this case, how many infections could we prevent if we developed a vaccine sooner? For example, in a typical clinical trial thousands of people are injected with a test vaccine and sent out into the world to see if they still get infected naturally that's happening now with several corona virus vaccine candidates, but Andrew Catchpole. The, chief scientific officer at H., Vivo the company launching this human challenge trial says that takes time normal traditional trials involve many thousands of subjects take many many months to complete in human challenge trials, which HP VO has been running for decades. A small number of healthy volunteers would be intentionally infected with the coronavirus after getting jabbed with a trial vaccine to see if it works. What happens is because everybody is given the disease, you're able to determine efficacy in a matter of weeks. These types of tiles have been used for centuries and in the recent past have. Sped up the development of typhoid and cholera vaccines. The agreement announced by the UK government today is just for the first step of this contract to manufacture and test Raina the virus to use in trials it still has to be approved by regulators and an ethics panel. If it is between thirty and ninety volunteers could start being injected with just the test virus, not yet any vaccine as soon as the beginning of next year so far nearly three thousand people in the UK have signed up to volunteer for a challenge trial. One of them is allaster frazier ORCA. White indefinite convinced. The Human Josh all has essential to advising Ovalles, scenes, population way more quickly lift on them on opinion the risk is small enough to travel participants that we need to take that risk frazier ORCA put off going to university for a year to work with one day sooner, a nonprofit group advocating for human challenge trials and signing up volunteers. He says the Tom Channel some of the fear of living through a pandemic into something that feels productive grandma custos. My Dodd might catch his out his risk. So kind of on a personal level the. Volunteer volunteers will be paid somewhere around five thousand dollars insurance cover healthcare costs. For any complications they will quarantine in a special nineteen dead unit at the Royal Free, hospital in London for an expected two weeks after virus exposure. Again, Andrew Catch Paul from h Vivo. A first priority was doing these studies is the safety of the volunteers. So for that reason, we go very strict criteria about those who. Will be eligible to participate. Volunteers must be between eighteen and thirty healthy with no pre existing conditions. But there's a more controversial criteria that scientists are wrestling with right now whether to exclude volunteers of color because there is data suggest that there is a potential for increased risk. The UN says Kobe nineteen is disproportionately affecting racial and ethnic minorities around the globe including in Brazil the UK and the US. K. Government figures, black men in England and Wales are more than two and a half times more likely to die of cope in nineteen than white men. Some of that is explained by socioeconomic status in pre existing conditions. But Dhillon David Kumar, a physician and professor at University College London says it's more than that. They're also other underlying causes racism discrimination for example, being an underlying cause which are not easy to count foreign. Announces such as this Dave Qamar said, he's the health impacts of racism and xenophobia. He says, well, it's important to note that raises a social construct, not biological. The effects of racism in tells in ways that can be hard to identify. So you can't hold constant the discrimination someone's face throughout their life. You can't hold constant the environment someone grownup in the levels of air pollution kinds of housing that they've lifting throughout their life. So. There are differences in outcomes amongst racial groups. David Kamar isn't familiar with this specifics of this study proposal, but he says he can understand the reason for picking volunteers who are at the lowest possible risk for getting really sick. Charles cordray chief officer for the Caribbean and African Health Network sees it differently. It's really disappointing people of Color. In clinical trials that's partly due to legacy of racist medical experiments. By white doctors and kwok-wah dray says the idea of excluding people of color from this trial would add to the distrust mistrust and the lack of trust has come about as a result of decades of sometimes how we need to respond so quickly but what is meant is that there's a whole section of people. Fair much. whose voices are not being head HBO is still making a decision about whether and how to include people of Color in the first phase of this trial when they're testing out the safest way to infect people with the actual virus the company hasn't designed protocols yet for the actual vaccine-testing in hopes quickly follows the volunteer criteria for this stage of the study will be finalized and handed over to UK regulators and an ethics panel by

The Supreme Court Allows More Time For Pennsylvania's Mail In Voting
"The Supreme Court allows extra time for Pennsylvania's mail in ballots by Marc Sherman and Mark Levy. Washington. The Supreme Court will allow Pennsylvania to count mailed in ballots received up to three days after the November third election rejecting a Republican plea in the presidential battleground state. The justices divided four four on Monday an outcome that upholds a state Supreme Court ruling that required county election officials to receive and count mailed in ballots that arrive up until November sixth. Even if they don't have a clear postmark as long as there is not proof it was mailed after the polls closed Republicans including President Donald Trump's campaign have opposed such an extension arguing that it violates federal law that sets Election Day as the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November and that such a decision constitutionally belongs to lawmakers not the courts. The State Republican Party Chairman Lawrence Tavis said the party disagrees with the decision and noting the four four decision. It only underscores the importance of having a full supreme court as soon as possible to be clear. The Supreme Court decided not to grant stay which does not mean the actions of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court would withstand a legal challenge to their judicial overreach. Should the court hear the case tape said? Nancy Patty. Mills Chairwoman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party accused Republicans of trying to sow confusion and disenfranchise eligible voters. This is a significant victory for Pennsylvania voters. Mills said in a statement, the Democratic majority on the state's High Court had cited warnings that postal service delays could invalidate numbers of ballots and surging demand for mail-in ballots during the coronavirus pandemic to invoke the power used previously by the state's courts to extend election deadlines during a disaster. Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the three liberal justices to reject Pennsylvania Republicans call for the court to block the State Court ruling. Justices Samuel Alito Neal Gorsuch Brett. Cavanaugh and Clarence Thomas would have required the state to stop accepting absentee ballots when the polls close on November third. There were no opinions accompanying the order. So it is impossible to say what motivated either group of justices the conservative justices have been reluctant to allow court quarter changes to voting rules close to an election. The court also is weighing a similar issue from Wisconsin but in that case, the ruling being challenged comes from a federal appeals court and the Democrats who are asking the justices to step in. Most states make election day the deadline, but eighteen states half of which backed trump the twenty sixteen election have a post election day deadline with nearly a million votes already cast in Pennsylvania, we support the court's decision not to meddle in our already working system Pennsylvania's Attorney General Democrat Josh Shapiro said in a statement. On, a separate track Republicans in the State House have pressed Governor Tom Wolfe a Democrat to agree to eleventh-hour legislation to eliminate or limit the three days under the court's order. The case is one of many partisan battles being fought in the state legislature and the courts primarily over a male in voting. In Pennsylvania amid concerns that a presidential election result will hang in limbo for days on a drawn out vote count in the battleground state. And Pennsylvania the State Democratic Party and a liberal group the Pennsylvania Alliance for retired Americans had salt an extension of the election day deadline to count mailed ballots. About two point eight, million mail in ballots requested and approximately nine hundred thousand returned democratic registered voters are requesting mail ballots at a nearly three to one ratio over Republicans, and it's September seventeenth ruling the divided state Supreme Court said ballots must be postmarked by the time polls close and be received by county election boards at five pm on November six, three days after the November third election it also said that ballots lacking clear postmark could be counted unless there was evidence that they were mailed after the polls closed.

It takes carbohydrates newco simple sugars in which are the chemical makeup is c six, h twelve, O six and breaks down into a few other substances the most important one being lactic acid, which is see three, eight, six, three. And the reason that wants to sewn Horton is that lactic acid drops the key age of the substance of the buner making end makes it last longer preserve Okay. So. If you just let the food out, normally, it would just kind of like. Go. Get bad mold bad smell. Awful. This smells awful. The some people a lot of people, but it's still perfectly safe to eat even make some of the nutrients and minerals a lot more accessible. And the way people are the hardest. This bacteria easily been harnessing at for thousands of years is by adding salt. So that period that produces this lactic acid it can. Stay withstand able an acidic environment, but also a salty environment which things cannot do. So by adding salt, the cabbage is that bacteria will just quickly take over multiply in. ferment everything until it's perfectly say. That's interesting. It's incredibly easy to do at home for like. I mean, it was done accidentally first centuries think about it. The microscopes were invented until relatively recently, people really didn't know a dockyard east even was they just they kind of knew the process entitles like magic or a gift from God or something They're alive for theories they're really need them the basics remain laughter permitting is a vessel. It. More only time places. You'll see like crosser. Back of some sort. The easiest way to do it at home is just take a mason jar can old pickle jar or a refresh Lee bought Mason Jar, just. Cut Up some cabbage mix it with some salt N. just packed their real tight in. Let it for that. See you don't have to add any liquid or anything. So we're talking about SAUERKRAUT. You don't get any liquor sour talents was so frightening there's enough liquid in the cabbage itself OSMOSIS SIS in like chopping the cabbage bricks enough cell walls at all this water just gets leached at the cabbage in submerged the cabbage totally in its own liquids. That's that had no idea. There are few other vegetables like tomatoes are the same but something like that hickel cucumber. You could slice and mashed us that out but the relief roast texture. Yeah yes. He leave it whole than you make what's call it salt brine, which is just water and salt mixed together and just with the cucumbers in that, they just start permitting on their own.
"You're hearing is a city council meeting. In Berkeley California Watt One minute unity members are calling into comment in favor of renaming one of Berkeley's trees Monica. I'd like to speak to number eleven as well. My Name is money show Josh I'm a professor of education at the University of San Francisco, thank you for your support of Culebra Guy Way this is an important moment for Asian Americans Berkeley one in five Berkeley residents is Asian American and we have a long and vibrant history here but you wouldn't know that from our streets our schools are parks and our buildings where at a historic folks are calling in to advocate for a street in Berkeley to be renamed Della Guy. South Asian immigrant who came to Berkeley over one hundred years ago. Anyhow numbers my name is he I'm releasing cal Grad who graduated back in May of this year there really is sincere excitement among the Berkeley student community when it comes to this renaming, I think especially among students of color in South Asian students in particular were all itching to see ourselves represented such concrete way Pun completely intended Hello good evening, Mr Mayor and City Council members leading was Michelle McGowan, and calling in from Washington DC and on behalf of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in historic preservation I'm here to support the naming of callow. Guy Way to the best of our knowledge. The City of Berkeley has little to no landmarks, monuments or markers recognizing the historical and cultural contributions of Asian Americans or Pacific Islander I for. One and he goes for the Berkeley South Asian radical history walking tour speaking in support of caliber guy way you heard from just a couple of US tonight while others are watching the live streaming APP station of your boat stories of club often ignored by Berkeley institutions, and yet we know that telling of bigger more inclusive history of Berkeley has the power to transform. US and our city, a clever guy we allows us to both honor her and reconcile difficult moments for history. Thank you for voting in favor of caliber guy way giving us something to celebrate during these especially tough times that last person you heard was Bernales Gosh one of the main organizers of this renaming campaign I called her up to learn more I am Barnett Lico. Im One of the creators of the Berkeley Salvation. Walking tour so I would Tim South Asian South Asian American. I grew up in India and moved to renounce five i. you she her pronounce. So we've been doing Berkeley Salvation Radical History Walking tour since twenty twelve and Iran these tourists with my partner honor Van Chatterjee. Through the tours, we take a disappearance in groups of about twenty around the city of Berkeley and make stops at places that are of historical importance South Asian Americans, and we tell stories of resistance in. That happened in the City of Berkeley and those histories go back over a hundred plus years. So we share stories of cure organizing youth organizing after nine eleven, stories of feminist and freedom fighters. And we include stories also of oppression not only that our community has faced but also oppressions within our own community say homophobia or caste system. I asked her how she came to learn about caliber guy and organized this campaign under about an I are always looking for things that happened at Berkeley and trying to understand what the lives of people who live here. especially in the early nineteen hundreds was like when we started doing the tours, we definitely didn't know enough about caliber guy maybe a few years ago. I heard her oral history on the South Asian American digital archives website and I came across both the video and early history where she mentioned Berkeley and that immediately caught my Attention. But there's an extra factor that makes her relationship to Berkeley particularly unique. Her main relationship to the city was that she was turned away from the city and I think that district people up in trying to understand why is it in Berkeley team after caliber guy when she may be never even lived here
Is This Josh Allen's (and the Bills') Breakout Season?
"So. Matt. Last year. The buffalo bills were one of the surprise stories of the NFL or lease. It felt that way for much of the season. Coming into this year, what would you say were the expectations around this team I think the expectations were that not only would they build on what they did a year ago but kind of sustain the success in the postseason. When you're quarterbacks in his third season, you've got your head coach in his fourth season. People were expecting that this team would contend for the division and win at least one playoff game maybe host playoff game. There are people that had really high expectations about this team, the buffalo bills you can easily say that this is their here. This is their division. saw like the the buffalo bills go to number one winner division and internally i. Think, the expectations were they hadn't arrived unless they won the division and started hosting playoff games and that's always been the goal for this regime. Basically from the end of the season, they made a point to say they needed more weapons they needed more on offense. They need the offense to be better, and of course, naturally you're thinking, all right, what are they going to do with that first round pick in a wide receiver class that was loaded Brandon beane decided that the immediate impact would be to go get a guy that's proven and he traded for Stefan Digs Buffalo GonNa get Stefan digs a seventh rounder in the upcoming draft Minnesota with a hall of picks. For Digs, the former V day said, no receiver in this class is going to be as good as defined digs will be and the waste of fund digs is played through five games. Certainly validated that the bills started out the season for no Josh Allen was grabbing a ton of headlines in your view Matt. How good was he during that run? He was excellent. was among. The best quarterbacks in the League through that stretch? Davis Buffalo. Josh. Allen. Was A lot better than we've seen him. He was more accurate pulpit of middle. Middle Gigs Margulis catching traffic he was more confident but it all down the field. Saturday. Prickly Building. Was a lot more confident in that first month just pushing the ball down the field. You could see the instinct chemistry with the fond eggs that was legitimately the best month of quarterback play. I've seen from buffalo bills quarterback since I started covering the team in twenty fourteen. Well then. The bills got absolutely hammered by the titans brochures company breaks away. What did you think of Allen's performance in that game I think the main takeaway for me was that Josh Allen did not play his best. It was his worst game of the season. It was what you would consider probably a bad game for Josh, Allen and still within that, it was better than his bad games from a year ago is some of his bad games a year ago would really hinder the passing offense and really hinder the overall team and yes, he turned the ball over twice against the titans but he never seemed to lose control. He never seemed to panic or even look confused he looked frustrated but not confused and I think that's the difference with him now as. Opposed to a year ago. So it wasn't as bad as we've seen him play, but it was just as bad as we've seen employees this year what did he have to say after the game he put a lot of it on himself. You know I got a little greedy on that one and and do that. You know throwing that interception there the defense didn't play well, and that would have been an easy crutch but he also gave them short fields and he acknowledged that and talked about protecting the football and all these things even after the winds he's deflecting praise all over the place you know the player of the week it's my parents it's not a huge deal for me. I think that Moore's team oriented award. Five plus dies blocked on every given plane takes your receivers to get open and go catch the ball and make plays after the catch. He's a guy that really understands his place on this team and he understands what he needs to get better at and having that awareness has helped him grow a lot over the offseason and into the first part of this season

Why Not Just Be The Best?
"All right. So Last weekend was insane I duNNo. If I told you this yet private and county deep. But I chance to go speaker Gingrich Season Tony Robbins Event Tony's studio which he built a huge studio and covert hit Zoom rumors like this huge stadium, rapin zoom walls and. It was crazy scam. You saw that pitchers but it was really special and really fun and we're actually flew there in Tony's private plane, which was crazy she his house and just it was really special weekend but. Telling you too much of that. I was thinking go deeper. So many crazy. A three call talking about although haase antiquated from that. I. Will drop out to you throughout the next few episodes but. There's one thing that's interesting. So We decided women, there were six days, which is kind of cool. We had out some really cool people and just relax and take a break a little bit and you know at the hotel there's so gets the scoop massages. So we started from Sasha two different days and obviously now the Cova, there's weirdness Boise Lovato. Idaho's is different but in Florida, were at, they have different rules rights face masks more often all sorts of stuff. So go get our first massage and He didn't there and it was only sixty minute massage because that's all they had time for that day or whatever, and this comes out she puts on plastic gloves, which was kind of weird Mike wasn't my favorite by Monica. Whatever. So And It was not it was not my favorite massage. Partially because they anyway, there are a lot of reasons why I just it was. Annoyed like it wouldn't feel good. It was just like she was technically giving massage but was not getting Sasha so much. So by the end of my sixty minutes like normally get a ninety minute massage and my sixteen massage like I just wanted to be done I was like it was like the longest sixty minutes life miserable I didn't have a good time and is even thinking like I hate massage like maybe maybe changed mental like the January maybe whatever and I'm so annoyed and finally got Donald. Kevin's is over I give me out of here and I just like Laugh A. Beautiful SPA and all these like I'm done like I don't I don't do beside I don't do. Anymore despise like I just had a horrible experience I I make. ASSANGE again anime rafter. GotTa massages later and then met afterwards and and I was like that was horrible. I don't ever want to give me Josh again and he said we have booked for tomorrow. May I know him? I don't really want to go as we cancel and. anyway it was just it was interesting. So. Next I go back because they have a twenty four hour cancellation periods have to Sasha like massages. This is GonNa be ninety minutes I'm going to be miserable. Just the whole thing right. So get there and kind of bad attitude and talking to Susan she's different person in super. Nice, and we we out massages she starts. The same thing has for the plastic gloves, which is kind of annoying but whatever. Does massage and this time it is a complete experience. was like an artist like it was it was amazing. Everything. It's Chris spend the same amount of money both massages. Right and the first one I wanted to die I wanted to get off the table on the right next person was insane. They were amazing like the ninety minutes was over and I was like, are you kidding me like I want to give you some more money? I spent flip back over and keep doing this back and forth all day. Until your to your shift or whatever like it was it was it was amazing and I remember laying there thinking about how like just twenty four hours earlier massage from person CEO same same spa everything and how I hated it, and this was amazing. Why would they compete anything to continue this experience longer and I started thinking about? This right both of these people would consider themselves from sizes masseuses right Both and got paid to say May to do the job but one was artist one was great. What they do and one was just did the thing, right? And I started thinking about my life lake. Everything. I've done I've tried. I don't know I always wanted to be the best I remember when I was wrestling about this this. This tape has s tape pre DVD's. And it was. The story about Tom Terry brands were twin brothers who are wrestlers, Iowa. Remember the movie started with I tom brands he comes and says, my name's Tom Brands my goal simple going to be the best wrestler in the world. Next thing came up as Terry brant my goal simple. I want to be the best wrestler in the whole world and that's how starts and boom. It goes into training montage and stuff and I was just like, yes. I remember thinking I. Can make my name's Russell Brunson the great wrestler in the world right and so I because I didn't want to be a good wrestler I want to be like okay. I wanted to be the best in the world and obviously never got there. That was my belief because I got way for the night probably ever should've gotten my skill and talent level right? I've state champ. I was an all American second in the Nation High School into college. Rank the top ten college never place NCA but but you know I did I heard your career and which to business was the same thing I got into business I wasn't on make moody who I was like. The greatest market ever lived like if I'm doing this job anywhere might as well take the amazing it right like. and. And I was just thinking about during massage just like people have the same job title. One's amazing ones like. You know and I think about for all of us like my kids. I. Keep with my kids and I don't care. We don't care what you WanNa be when you grow up like don't be like, okay. Be The best in the world like. A how do you? How do you become amazing not just give amazing. What are you have to do different I don't know I don't know how to teach that exactly more. So than just like helping has want that desire like don't be the crappy I think about funnel building right like th. There's tons of you without teaching fungibility and doing fun bill and you can hire someone and you will they hire someone in they get a funnel in the funnel stocks and she's like. You know your federal building become the best in the world obsess about designing copying all these things that when you build someone to funnel like you handed to them, it should be art they should be away by just like you know the second has blown away like. That's experience when a gift somebody if you can't give some experience like you need to geek out more, you got to go deeper you had become better. Become the best in the world that you are in your craft whatever it is right. If I was a dentist locators dentist, but there's there's amazing dense chiropractic. I won't be good chiropractor on the best in the world.

"Her dog, she was not upset at all. She's a really cool lady. She posted the video on her facebook page asking if anyone knew this little boy saying, she just liked to let him know that he's welcome to stay and play because the dog loves the attention while the boy's mom saw that viral video and recognized it was her son Josh. She told the dog's owner that he talks about that dog all the time that he loves her and they didn't just know that he was sneaking into the garage to sear. Wondering how he knew her so well, but it's understandable now that they know everything little joshes own dog had died from old age recently. So now Josh is a welcome visitor for play dates with his favorite dog duchess and they say he goes over there almost every day now to see her oh, that is a wonderful store. That's a heart warming. "Thankfully, not every argument. They had was quite so serious about whether or not which cake on each other's face at the wedding. And of course, we resolved not one by realizing that of course, we're going to the Kent Connie traffic pace. Okay. Susan doesn't seem to agree with that one. But she well, they married the afternoon of April sixth two thousand one in the Portland temple. It was the same place. Josh's sister, Jennifer had married. Her husband Kirk, the similarity was not lost on Jennifer. You know, that it's kind of interesting because I think there was some piece of Josh that really wanted. What I had. He could see that. I was in a better position in that. I had. Extracted myself from the family situation in found happiness and had moved on from the crap that we'd gone through Josh's own audio journals bear that out. He envied Jennifer stability and independence that I really want to emulate my sister's marriage. She has a wonderful situation with her husband, but the emulation started off pretty poorly. Josh was always running late, and that was a constant irritation to pretty much everyone around him. Trying to get him to move and in follow through with Steph in a timely manner. It was just a constant battle until so he was laid to money. Jennifer hadn't invited her dad Steve to her wedding. Josh made sure Steve was there for his wedding. But there was a problem. The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints only allows members who are in good standing to enter its temples. That's true. Even for guests at temple, weddings. Now Steve Powell had long since given up on trying to live the religions rules. He tried to walk into the temple, but was turned away. In fact, none of Josh's siblings aside from Jennifer were able to witness the ceremony, they waited outside. So to Jennifer's three young kids. They were too young to enter the temple she worried. What might happen? I was left with a quite a bit of anxiety. Because I knew that who is going to be with my children outside my dad, and my sister who is under the influence of my dad Tebily and so. I said a lot of prayers. In left them for that very short time with them. Then I think you know face revived. They managed to make make it through mostly escaped. I think Jennifer reserved Josh and Susan a room on their wedding night at the hood river in it's a scenic spot on the south Bank of the Columbia River. It's where she in Kirk had spent their honeymoon. You turned out. Josh was more interested in playing with his camera than spending time with his wife Josh recorded his observations of that afternoon on his hand held voice recorder. He detailed the logistics of the day never once mentioning how he felt about being married or remarking about how beautiful his bride was. He just wanted to play with his dad's video camera captured a little bit of the drive just a cool life and shadow, and we got the polling up because the hotel shock and walking into our room. Susan didn't like to dance but feeling giddy and love she allowed her dad to drag her around the dance floor to the tune of wake up little Susie. Choice of song was apropos that was in reference to her coming home late at night. Sound asleep? Did you pick that song, by the way? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Try to say, hey, you know, you understand. It kind of kind of making fun of spy now. But whatever, but yeah, probably important, Saul. Tell you. Woke up a little sort of. Wake up Josh hovered over his dad's shoulder making sure he got video from all the right angles. Hold your hand up. Please. Okay. Great. My nails. Ring has two thousand that storage on it. "He even made a veiled reference to Catherine his ex-girlfriend calling her the first girl that he had ever really liked deep down at the end. He told Stella she was then the sole object of his attention want. You to love me, Stella, I love you. When you said you wanted to be friends, I tried to get over you. But no other girl comes close. The only thing. I don't love about you is that I can't reach you. But one of Josh's roommates had secretly warned Cindy about what he was really like Cindy talked to Stella word got back to Josh. He was furious over what he called his roommates indiscretion. I just want them gone. So I don't mind being a nuisance to them. We will I be happy when they are wearing out my nice things anymore. I probably shouldn't get to mean with these guys because it could affect my reputation in January Josh executed his plan from the audio journal. I let go of my apartment packed up. All my stuff. I put it in my storage unit. I had a feeling I could not need to be in Seattle anymore. Trumpers time finally moved out of nowhere needed to go. Know what I was doing where I was going to know anything before leaving Seattle. Josh made a half hearted attempt to Cindy installs. Cousin? It did not go well from a complicated situation, roommates and friends and. Complicated relationships criss crossing every which way Josh moved back to Dan's Place in Puyallup, and it's kind of difficult living by doubt at times because it has had a against the church, but I have got it and realized that it is even more difficult for my little brother and sister who never. In march. Josh took a road trip to his sister Jennifer's house in Utah. He was there to attend the by annual general conference of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. He was also there to meet a young woman. He had found on a website for church singles by went down there to Utah to fi her spent a couple of weeks at a puke housing miles furthest. I've ever driven for day. That was a great experience. All though, obviously it didn't work out that is an understatement. Let me explain why Josh made just a couple of references to this woman in his writings, I found her full name buried in the thousands of files police later retrieved from his computer now during our first conversation. This woman had told me something about Josh had given her the creeps. She couldn't put her finger on what? Josh's own journals may shed some light on it after their date. Josh wrote about visiting the Provo Utah temple. He saw young married couples there with happy expressions on their faces. He thought it was the same..

So that they could talk, and then he droned on and on keeping her out past eleven thirty curfew to be more careful because I really don't want to get her into trouble. Bad at stress to our relations. -sarily and the concept of curfews not familiar to me the next day Josh road, Cindy of long letter describing his time with Catherine and his brief fall away from faith after I came to the church. I had one big struggle. And I lost hold for awhile. I think even that was for my good though, the sun went down, and I was alone. Only when I returned again was I free again, he wrote another letter a few days later confessing the turmoil of his parents divorce. He said he finally understood his sister Jennifer's split from the rest of the family. She endured the second worst thing in the world. She made a choice to distance herself from my dad. So now, I will face the second hardest thing in the world. It is up to my dad when I will see him and how much Cindy didn't have romantic feelings for Josh. She asked him not to show up at the house without calling. I, but he kept finding excuses to visit like dropping off some CDs or bringing over a pot for plant again. This is Josh is audio journal. I hadn't. Really? I just called her like an hour before I arrived, and I just left it on the voice mail. So I had done what she asked me in my own little way. Cindy, finally had to make it clear. She was not interested Josh told her he wanted to stay friends, then over the next few months. He's slowly shifted his interest down the line to Cindy sister. Stella Josh's journals reveal he knew this was abnormal behavior. This is from Josh's written journal, if there is a girl who is interested in my brother, and then she got interested in me. I would probably be very cautious with her too. I might feel like I was her second choice. It didn't stop him Josh's feelings for Stella grew into a raging fire. He just couldn't seem to control he continued to show up at our house, or at her work sometimes carrying a video camera it made so uneasy. Josh, meanwhile, was dealing with feelings of jealousy and isolated. Sometimes I feel like no one wants to be around me. It is as though I am not allowed to feel sad. Sometimes I think a lot of people don't understand that. I have the same feelings as everyone else in early October. Josh decided it was time to confront Stella. He brought her flowers and told her he wanted to be her boyfriend. He asked her to pray about him. Ask your father about me. And if there's any chance I might be good for you. Then please don't start dating anyone else. Stella like her sister felt put off by Josh's high pressure approach. She told him they should just stay friends. Josh did back off for about a month. He tried dating around a bit. But struck out again he began to blame. His dating troubles on his roommates who he saw as freeloaders they don't seem to appreciate all the things. I do for them. I owe them nothing. It makes me wanna unshared and get rid of them in December. Josh poured his heart out to Stella in an Email as he'd done with. Cindy, he described how his mom and dad's divorce had scarred him. He talked about finding his way. Back to religion..
