"He's all about sharing it and just kinda thrown out there to see what your thoughts are. Maybe there's people that are right there with him okay. So he said they've been giving him crap at work because he said. I've used the same mattress since I was a kid. He said what which also listen to this which also happens to be my parents first mattress. They bought before I was born. I'm twenty five however it is so comfy and my wife doesn't mind so he says this disgusting or is this not as unusual as you'd think so he wants to throw it out. Maybe there are people that are full on adults that you know. Have 'cause at a younger adult. Maybe you're a full mid twenties at. That's that's that's why. Would you have a twenty five year old mattress? So you've got a new mattress that you got for mattress firm and prior to that. The one that you had I mean. Was that something that you'd had since you were a kid or no. No I mean once I moved Dow I was you know in different apartments and usually they actually had Because I was up at your Idaho and they were. They were ferment. Yeah so I never how to do anything until I moved out of Idaho and then were probably sleeping on a mattress from nineteen sixty. Their God only knows what caught and what was done. It's bad it's fitting. So what are your thoughts on this? I think around the room. It's probably okay that one you know and I get like being a young adult and still but then you know. What point like twenty five? I would think that's you're married. You just read their married but his wife is is fine with what first and foremost to each their own. Yeah they're comfortable and they like it and share it with people. Don't don't tell people that you're sleeping on a mattress. The Not only you've had since you were kid but your parents had their parents first mattress. They bought it before he was born. They made him on that. So what are your thoughts on this? Maybe you can relate to this where you are sleeping. You know you're an adult and you've got a mattress that it's the same mattress that you grew up with that's percents. I'm like that or maybe it's a family mattress. Maybe this is passed down. Yeah it's a good omen hamper. What are your thoughts on it? So Ninety seven one. Frankie and just show podcast here on iheartradio. Let's go around the room. Find out what we did over the weekend. Would you do over the weekend? What do we do? I'm trying to think Friday when over to Ashley's she. She loves Costco. She loves the COSCO SO SURE. When she goes to costco she'll pick me. Ups ran over to her place After the show and graphs and Costco stuff and trying to think hung out with the boys Friday night. I remember what we did and then on that. Let's Saturday whenever ashes again and a few of us. Bunko girls just some social distancing in her yard and door Dash Su su-casa. That seems to be our Saturday Saturday. Day plans every weekend Let's see Rans Mary Kay deliveries and then. What do we do Saturday? It was really fun. We ordered Chinese me. Kuban CAV and watch the blindside so read the book and he wanted to see the differences in the book and movie Africa. How good that movie as was just on Cable the other day was part of that. Yeah we're watch most of the movie right hop movies so watch that Saw One of my best. He's Alison. She was in my hood on Saturday and she had a couple of kids with her cash in Boston. And they were kind of social distancing so she stopped by the front yard on Saturday Church online Sunday and trying to think what else Yeah Kenner remember. Yesterday ran a quick errand with my man. He's been working a lot and just kind of took a car ride with him and dropped off men K. And just dealing with Doggy Steph so Ari. Our oldest is just not doing good. He's got we've had him for twelve years and was yeah he was A. Let's see coop was a toddler when we got him and it was a listener that emailed and said Dude. My family was at the dunes over the weekend and there was really sweet. Dog that was very skin and bones. And we don't know what to do with this dog and I've been begging cab for a second dog for a long time because we had our little peppier pug mix right and cavs like no no no dogs dogs and Kevin I've gotten a real big fight Keno to make this better. I want my damn dog and then we got this email listener. You're listening emailed and I was like this is a sign this dog and we went to daybreak where the student lives and here he had two dogs and he was just like. I can't have a dog and he's big and he jumped off those stairs of this. You know all these different steps at the front now. Oh no this is not our dog had cocker Spaniels and pugs. Like I'm a little girl. And he he. Yeah and now we can do it. He wanted to give him away so many times those few years. Because we had peppy the Pug Ari the big ass dog. Who's like a Lab Dane? Mix and then coupe was a toddler and it was working fulltime and I was just like I can't handle my life again handle and you know you were with me. The whole time that he is my shadow. He's my protector. He's the first person I see. Every morning we take constantly. We take naps together in the afternoon. I mean this morning eve any. He looked up and he's like. Hey mom good morning I mean so it just. We had an episode Sunday night. We're going to go to bed late. Kevin I stayed up and kind of had a date and watch some shows and From two am to six AM. He just couldn't get comfortable. He was in he was out he was he was out. He got lost in the backyard. A COUPLE OF TIMES KEV. Had to go find him and he was just disoriented and he's been battling pneumonia. We went over to Banville the during landing and they have him on some stuff and he's you know but it's with elevation she said and with his age he's just this pneumonias really been brutal for him so we have to make some tough decisions probably sooner than later and And it sucks because you know how it is you own a pet. They're your family like you said they're they're they're the constant and sometimes you love him better than humans in your life and have to make a decision whereas you know yeah and the decision is doing or we keeping them around for us. You know what I mean of like. I know the last time with with Well Mustang was the same thing same thing with Brooke Brooke couple. It was probably probably let it go. Maybe two weeks more than we should. It's hard to make that decision as hard decision to make people on the outside see right like my people that come over and have seen are either like oh you know the way he gets around and everything you don't see it when it's your dog you just like. Oh this is how they are now. Because that's your new norm with them. It doesn't seem different but yeah it's it's been brutal. It's been bad couple of days and but just glad to be home with the family and being with him and loving on him you know how about you could weaken. Yeah so on Friday. We went and got a Chili's to go. Yeah super good And then when we got home we watch shark tank for forever. We just want just seems like it's been on forever. They always do the marathon. Which is it's easy to get sucked into it. It is cool to see what people invent And then on Saturday we When we actually sat in the NIELSENS drive line for forty five minutes which one though the one in Lincoln. Okay because we have the one there on on highland right there and I think that's like the first one in zone and that drive through line was so long we went by and it was like no thanks. Not so salt was really really long is Forty forty minutes on the DOT. That's all you waited in line at least twenty cars. It's worth it man it was. We did Rupert Bullets actually with them so we just thought like vanilla a big pint and then we went home and we got some beer imported men and we did like We watched the invention of lying and then We went on a hike so we went up to one is. What is that far South Harmon? Oh It's Adams Canyon. Oh Nice and cool okay. Yep So we did that right on what we see Friday. We did a date hike my wife. Tammy and I would Ferguson Canyon than we did take out so as we kind of our Friday thing so we did Sushi and then grabbed noodles and company for a little boy axel. Because you know I want butter noodles. Okay arguing them Saturday let's get a hike with my buddy Tommy above his house win over there. And we just did a little social distancing. It was Nice. I hadn't seen them in weeks And then on Saturday. I don't remember what we did on. Saturday did something where we were hanging. Are I think just hung around the House and the neighborhood? You know a lot of wiggle car the new scooter. He got a new scooter. Cool been doing that. the wiffle ball with the wiffle bat have been doing that baseball. Also in hockey hockey stick you said that. Got Stuck in a tree or something. Yeah posted a picture if you WANNA see it so so so my wife. Tammy took the picture like a candid. Shot of me trying to get this hockey. Stick out of the tree so where this is because people are like so. You're going to post that not say what had happened. I'm like okay one of those where he's really just a stupid story. Yeah and I realized that it was stupid. That I'm like you see rope coming down from the pine tree and then there's my little boy next to me and we're both trying to get the mystic. So what had happened is I was hitting some of his wiffle balls into the pine trees next to the House. I mean because they're really tall. Sixty seventy feet up there or whatever so I can hit these things as hard as I can. And they'll get stopped in the tree and then they kind of fall down and so they're not going very far because it's the really high well one of them got one of the balls got stuck in the tree and was actually doable to try to get it out of the tree. So I I the the wiffle ball bat up then that got stuck in the train and then I'm like I'll get it out right and then. I grabbed my hockey stick. Which is the real SA- a hockey stick with a with a with a plastic blade onto street hockey stick? I threw that up in the tree and my wife takes. Don't get something like I'm not going to get the hockey stick stuck in the tree. It got stuck in the tree. We have all three in there. Yeah so at that point. It was just the one. It was the hockey stick. That thing was up there overnight and I'm like okay 'cause I I'm like I'm just grab this rope that I have and kind of bundled up throw it up and over but I got it the second day I was like okay. Let's go grab it out of this. Research grabbed that shot of the two of US trying to get the hockey stick of the tree is so cute dude he. I just love him. Look how fresh this dude is. He's all drafts. He's got style does So we did that on Saturday so that was Saturday. I think when it may maybe Sunday that got stuck in the tree Sunday we took a family hike. Were little cottonwood. Yeah so that was fun and then we I was neat and then we we were hungry so we decided to get takeout from silver fork so we drove up big cottonwood in the New Delhi and we wanted to kind of stay out and drive around a little bit so we grab dinner. There dropped some dinner off at my mom's Place. Yeah and then What do we do so that was on Sunday? I WANNA say hey to Christie Josh Mike and Peggy so we met them up on that hike when we were. I think we were. Yeah we were coming to our car and they were actually walking to their car so Yeah Kristie Josh. Mike and Peggy. They don't she doesn't listen to the show. She watches studio five. And you work on the radio.

"Do you think there's ever anybody else in mind or do you think that ultimately Damon when Lindelof idea always was that this was going to be some ancient entities that we're going to have like a big thing to say about the ultimate cosmic themes of lost. No I mean I guess it it comes down to what hobby are said before about. How Jacob in the man in black weren't really a conversation in season one you know so I wonder if they just sort of kept the door open like with with the Russo stuff as to okay there? Were people people that were on this island before but I don't know if it goes necessarily back to okay. It's GonNa be these two. You know these mythical people that are the first to arrive on the island and the big battle of good and evil they represent that transcends millennia it could just be like people from village that used to be here and they played with rocks and they put rocks in their pocket or it could be a burial ceremony. I don't know how much they had built into that plot bridge at the point where they brought this idea up okay a couple a final others that are less connected to house of the rising sun in her a little bit more generally lost other number fourteen comes from Angel Woodrum who writes in and says something that I'm realizing on this second watch almost ten years after lost is just how great the female characters are of course women are underrepresented in the show as a listener pointed out on last weeks feedback section in addition to that high school brain with its internalize unchecked sexism didn't allow me to see the depth of Kate's character remember things she was just a love love interest to Sawyer and Jack which is so much more even just in these first eight episodes that every watched so far so shame on you high school Angel Angel Zone where it's for not respecting kate more this applies to other female characters to yeah I mean I think it just in talking about engine Kim's performances as son. I hope that we've articulated takeaway did the great depths of our love for that performance specifically. I think that son is one of the great unsung characters of this show. Yeah I completely agree and look angel. Don't be too hard on yourselves. We all have wack opinions in high school but the brain matures and we naturally gain new better editor opinions so just because we have lack opinions our entire lives. Unfortunately we're constantly failing. Sometimes we've got good ideas more often than not. We've got bad ideas. Can you tell that we're almost three hours into a podcast. Stamina is depleting the final other speaker wish the vital other sort of Katie Phipps who has a really funny funny feedback says my husband is the person who got me into lost. He watched it as it aired and has seen the series three times hi through I I watched it about two years ago with him. During one of his re watches and I am again watching with you guys now yesterday I was talking with him about how you all have have no patience for the people who are like they were dead the whole time it's purgatory to my surprise. My husband revealed that he is one of the people who believes that they were dead the whole all time. What kind of argument can I make to prove to him that he is wrong? Should I just keep listening helped me win this Katie. I believe the only answer is divorced. That's it that's irreconcilable differences. He does not get the adding to lost. I understand we can fix this if Jin and sun and can work it out you guys to get a Sharpei who understands the ending of lost desk the true the true reconciliation all right Katie. Here's what you gotTA. Do you gotta get get a job. He didn't that Dog Bobo. Okay the dog Bobo ideally can speak English. We'll speak to your husband and say hey. I'm a talking dog named Bravo and I've been listening to this podcast called loss down the hatch and hosts there. They talk for a very long time about lost every week. The two long ago way too long on this podcast and they insist that the whatever happened happened everyone was alive and there is no purgatory accepted the end where there was like some white purgatory but it was it was light. Minimal territory is is very is very soft purgatory. Eh occurred at the end of the show but everything else was real. All of that stuff was real Katie. If that doesn't work keep US posted and we'll workshop some other ideas for how to convince your husband that he is wrong because he's absolutely wrong one hundred percent wrong. I think that honestly just show the last scene where it's you know Jack Jack and whatever embodiment Christian shepherd is where Jack Literally says like did I die and Christian literally outlines the entire twist. I think that's all you need and know everything that happened to you was real everyone dies eventually you died and now you're here but that doesn't mean you've always been dead and and then if that doesn't work get your new dog to do a lip dub of the scene so that he understands it coming from a different animal how many people Mike do do you think we will inspire to go out and get dogs named Bobo over the course of our time here on down the hatch. Oh boy just one. I feel like it was a success if they do you can make a middle name of our combined names to make sure that Josh Mike Yeah that it's like an actual like inside joke and we just didn't have to piggyback on a a couple that name there Doug Bhopal at the same time yeah assure would be mosh. Yes Bobo Mush Bobo Marsh all right Senator Pictures Mush when you get them all right. Let's get to twenty three points. This is where we give out. MVP points in L. VP points the the stars of the hour our and the losers of the hour who won house of the rising sun who lost house of the rising sun. I will be giving to empty P points this week. Mike will be giving out three Mike will be giving out to LV points and I will be giving out three and just to set the deck of what we're at right now. Kate is the leader with five. Mvp Points Lock in Jack Act both at four the monster has three say Gerard has to Claire Littleton has won the Pitchman Ray moen clocking in with one MVP point Seth Norris. It's the brother of chicken John. They are minus one a piece of Marshall minus one for dying as was the reason why we took one away from seth north by the boars. Their mind is one Christian shepherd minus when he also died Margot shepherd minus one the gawkers have lost a point Krissy. The oceanic agent controversially lost point Shannon Rutherford is in minus one Michael Michael Dawson minus two sawyer minus three. He'll make that up randy nations minus three it will only plummet the further we see Randy nations in the future and Boone is also sitting at negative three all right Mike who gets your first. MVP point for this episode a little girl said the summit come out tomorrow but it's coming out today in the form of MLB points gotta give it to Sun here big revelation on her part plus Johnson Kim this fantastic performance especially in those flashback seeds you gotta give it to her fully co-signed I give son an MVP point as well and in fact I would give her to. MVP point this week if not for the fact that I have to reserve serve won MVP point clearly for Bo the dog so both of the dog gets one for me and son gets one from me as well for all the reasons you've outlined well. Let's keep it in the family. This might be a bit controversial. I'M GONNA give point to Jin. Hey whoa okay we'll because yes I understand that his particular portrayal in this episode is not looking great but I love the argument was provided in a previous other and honestly I feel like look worse. Spoiler filled podcast we look at things from the context of the entire series. If if you look at these events knowing Jin's character and knowing especially how he comes things from in translation I feel like it really fills out his character and makes him look very very different went and very caring what he's portrays anything but in this episode so I'm going to give him a point here it's biased but what the hell okay you get another point to hand out. 'cause I'm giving one to son. I'm giving giving the dog and you get a third and the point to award. Let's give it to John Burris here. Let's give a talk okay Mr Lauk yeah. I think that you know lock is still in his wise old sage point where he's not going into crazy territory and he's sets Charlie on a really good path. That's going to really come to fruition as soon as next episode owed and I think you know the fact that he himself as a secret driveshaft fan as well as a really fun character note alright so lock gets point that brings them up to five he he is tied with Kate Austen for the most envy points at the moment. I've got three L. V. P. points to award and I will I will give two of them right now. Adam and Eve Lolo Mary and Jesus lose appoint the man in Black Aka the monster man and Allison Janney who has not even yet appeared on the show air both losing a point and of course as my tradition here in the twenty three point sections actions just spread the for the for the crime of dying died and so they lose a four to fifty years ago. I had to be consistent uh-huh so they each lose a point. Who Do you have as healthy? This might be a bit controversial. I'm going to give I'm going to take a point away from Kate. Oh Wow wow okay so lock might a passer and every thing I'm just hung up on and I know we have a couple pieces of feedback about this as well. It just doesn't settle to me this whole thing about you know the jacker being viewed as being in a relationship so she doesn't want to necessarily do that. You know I feel like somebody had said. Did I forget who that like. They really liked kate up into this point and this is maybe when we start to see kate get a bit away from that character that was really interesting in the first few episodes. It's just a character note. That doesn't necessarily resound with me. I don't WanNa be eve type of thing so I'm GonNa docker one for that. Okay so it's a sea change it was gonNA make a bad charlie joke where kate was in the lead and lock was right in the running for it and unlock is now leading the MVP category with five points total in K. at four. Somebody has finally pushed past kate her. The rain was strong but it is currently at an end. Yes but I'm going to give another one. We mentioned this before. Let's make it pay off gawkers walkers. You're not off the hook your point doc to and around Sir all right. We'll speak in a doc. I'm GonNa take a point away from Jack. Appoint a way for PAT. You know what he he he gets. He gets people to move to the caves but he's oprah aggressive with Kate and he's wearing an awful shirt and it can't be forgiven. I can't forgive it..

Survivor 39 Preview: 7 Things You Need to Know About Island of the Idols

"The heck is is going on with season thirty nine of survivor. I am Rob Sister Nino and hello welcome to the survivor preseason we back and we are ready to go and I have a tag team. Duo of men who went out to Fiji to learn learn about everything that's going on. You can imagine giant paper towel heads of them right here. In the studio. Please please welcome Josh Wig Ler and Mr Mixmaster Mike Bloomer Rob. I'm so happy you put in the money to get get all that paper. Cover my nose on your giant bust of me. Is that really means a lot that you would go the extra mile just for that. I just can't believe that you couldn't pony pony up for the wombat replica for me and because it's just my giant head you couldn't even get mustard colored parachute short yes from rumble from the EPA uh-huh okay. I know you say you said tag team and it just made me sorely unhappy that Josh and I were ships in the night when it came to the royal rumble which is maybe maybe at the at the time that people are talking. That's another podcast. That's another podcast. That's from last week's Robin. Akiva need a podcast yeah. This is survivor lost to right. You're right. We most recently all recorded together on the brand steel simulation of of the season one of lost. Look put all that nonsense aside because this is. This is the main event we are. We are back talking about real. Will you say survivor coming up here. In just a matter of weeks. Jussia perhaps the most truncated preseason of all town certainly since I've been covering survivor as a reporter this is by far and away the shortest preseason and we're GONNA do the people in my mentions. Stop asking me about it. I told you once I'll tell you again. Donut me. Ah The decisions that are far above my pay grade but we're here. It's happening. It's real and I'm so delighted for for this this one for a number of reasons but primarily the primary reason has really nothing to do with survivor the season itself but the fact that I had a very exciting exceptional special co-pilot along the ride with me for this preseason and that was mixmaster. Mike himself making making his survivor preseason debut out there for Parade magazine and I am a proud papa bear of this order becoming a man at thirty nine. Yes yes Oh my God Mike. I'm just so thrilled to finally be able to talk about our adventure venture together. Yes so I mentioned this briefly. When we doted on survivor allender the idols at the end of edge of extinction when there was that thirty second promo during the reunion that made people who were saying what the heck is going on. Maybe add an exclamation point to the end of that question mark based on what was shown and Josh and I were able to go out there to Fiji to cover the pre season of survivor thirty nine my very first time going out there and and I mean I will say with no ounce of Sardonic mean whatsoever that it might have been one of the best experiences of my life. We're going to touch upon you know all the stuff that we got to do there. Were some really opportune moments. I think we've got to take advantage of over the course of this season in particular that makes it a bit different different from other seasons that Josh has been out of you know in the past but I mean I also couldn't have done it without this guy. We have many for gene honeymoon photos together uncomfortable get posted now that the embargo lifted but it has the embargo lifted on the secret texts that must have been exchanged between our respective lives who were serious with US reporting it up in Fiji especially as Angelo was very close to bringing asher bloom into the universe yeah. It's it's been such a long offseason at least in my pain especially sitting on misinformation for nearing six months of this point. I mean maybe it's because my son was born two weeks before edge of extinction and did but I don't know it seems like the past several months and not just because because of the truncated preseason but it's felt very long to me. I don't know if you guys feel the same way. Is that a real that your wife's text is. There is a little bit of correspondent. There was some while there's a different time schedule. I think we were trying to you know remain as much out of the Doghouse as the war your dog houses possibly be about dog house yeah but for the fact of the matter is you know we were across the world doing some pretty ridiculous things in Fiji Asia able to you know talk about it and talk about the fact that we were doing absolutely silly things together. We're going to be talking about over the we were cast roommates. We shared a room. We slumbered into Hot Fijian nights together. We had we had lots of lots of toxin and planning sessions and strategy sessions just great bonding moments that occurred between Mike Bloom before lost down. The hatch was even a twinkle in our collective active. I at that point Mike but you can we we've been on a great journey together this year and much of it blossomed and began here. You're on the island of the idols so it is it is our great pleasure to finally open the doors to this secret place and finally talk about it a little bit so let's set up what we're going to do here today. So Josh Mike have been out to Fiji. They were on location. They learned everything I myself. This is how I operate. I put my head in the sand. I try to learn as little as possible about future survivor seasons where wherever I can could help it because for me then it keeps it fresh as we go through it in the real time and so what we've done here today is. I'm in the blackout route. I have not followed anything survivor this morning and so I am going to learn and react to whatever Josh and my don't lie to me. Don't tell me like fake things. That aren't true. It's alive with you know don't do for that but I then I will get to react to the things that you were going to tell me and the listeners about this new season of survivor. I like okay. That sounds really fun and there's certainly a lot as well. Josh and I have come up together. it's a lot yeah seven things that we learned while going on set set for survivor island of the idol of it deals with the titular island itself some with Boston. Robin Sandra some with the cast Cetera so there's a lot to experience over the course of that week we we are in Fiji together and I'm happy to finally get into it as Joshua's alluded to yeah. Here's what I know. We have rob and Sandra are going to be there. I've been seen commercials for that and they're going to be coaches of players. That's that's from what I understand. That's the that's all I've got island. I think we you can start there and elaborate. I think is going to be easy enough to do and I will just begin by being a shameless and I will come out and say T- CHR DOT com slash survivor to plug my stuff and Mike. Where can people find your beautiful articles that you're writing about this season season parade dot com slash tag slash survivor and I'm also trying to come up with a hug page I think for everything island of the idols related because as we're GONNA be talking about near the end of this podcast? There's GonNa be a lot of coverage coming out from both our ways over the course of the these two plus weeks Saturday night articles really as as close for Mike Sake. That is pretty darn. Close the truth away from the number. You know I might give you the closest without going over here. You're you're you're still young and spry enough to to put out a volume that I will never be able to approach again. I can't wait to read it. I'm very loud so that volume does make sense okay all right. So what is number one. What is the number one on the list of the seven things. WE'RE GONNA learn here today. In this podcast well well. Let's start with as you guys mentioned what I think the survivor audience conventionally new or found out about island of the idols as of the end of May Boston Boston Rob Sandra twine are back sort of they're not playing the game and I cannot say this enough right Boston. Austin Robbins Sandra will not enter the game. They will not become players. This is not a big brother. Fourteen situation says it they're going to be serving as advisers for the entirety of the season living out there on the titular island of the idols and we'll get into you know what what exactly they're going to do in a little bit but I also want to mention that as well you know. Josh put up a great interview with Robin Sandra that we had the opportunity to go visit the idols yeah. which was I mean Josh? You can talk to your first reaction to this but this was a biggles shocker for me at least when we found out this was happening. Oh yeah no hugely really surprised you know one of the things that I was going to do when I got out there was I was gonNA. I was GONNA come to Jeff. PROBST and Matt Van wagged in with like a list of suggestions like all right. You guys need themes. I got themes the themes he wants themes AB- slinging themes at a discount and a free free of charge charge just ideas take them have them get away with extinction and start coming up with some things that you can do if you need ideas and I'm nowhere even in the realm of the vicinity of the closest approximation of the center of the list that I have anything resembling Boston Robin Sandra Diaz twine and their gigantic fricken head statues were secretly inhabiting an island that everybody would be going out to visit visit so when when I learned this information I did a lot of like the wand off caliber laughter directly Jeff Jeff probst space as I was. I was finding out this information for the first time because I was just I was astonished. I was shocked I was tickled by it and it was presented to me as basically like a sentient ghost island right like ghost island hinged on this this library of artifacts this like a haunted museum museum a spooky playground. If you will that is out there that's populated by all these different relics from survivor seasons past. There's really not a ton of that. Personality popped on the screen. I think and I think that the idea behind I o is making I have affectionately come to call it though type doubt it looks like a lower case. Ll which may also be appropriate literally getting high it was described to me sort of as a sentient ghost island ghost island with actual people representing that personality and they're being this really whimsical bent to it and having Robin Sandra out there living it up ah talking the talk walk the walk and a lot of Boston rob. Ghost in evolution strategy also yet to be net seriously really. Do we have any we've ever had goes to Sandra. We did not we did not have Sanchez goes. We did have Boston Rob's ghost. Gorky said one hit in five at bats. But it was that big Homer in yesterday's win shortly at I four academy. That's also to swinging just like he did with Marco. He blows a heater by gorgeous. Back to back punch outs of the Hernandez, and they're stew out one cents of ninety three to get Marco ninety four right there to get gorgeous with good life on, like you said earlier, the fastball command for rhino Aspinall makes them look like a different pitcher than the guy we saw the first. How about these lips as a reliever this year in five outings? He's got an era over nine as the starter about four and a half. This is fifth starts mid five parents out of the pen pitched a one Centeno is outside and high all won the left in it hitting catcher for the second straight night and four only these sick time all year. Batting nine. Hey, this is a good back to have batting ninth these days, centennial hitting two eighty two the home, run and fourteen driven. He swings and misses almost goes into a full splints with his legs flying apart on the follow through one and one. About one cents during this little two game winning streak. The pasta are on. He's got five RBI in the last two games. Got that wide open bag stance to out an espionage with a one swinging up let side of the field. It's third baseman away drifting out over into foul ground by stepper too. He makes the one end of catch to the leadoff it, but I never moves and after one and a half. Nothing nothing. "Oh, all right. We are back. Here's how we're going to work things. Our first guest in this hours and for another fifteen minutes. So we're going to open the phone lines. But we've got a number of text messages. We could major subjects. We haven't talked about yet. We'll try to work your phone calls in between with that conversation. So the number to call is six five one nine eight nine nine two two six while you're doing that said let's let's talk about the Minnesota Vikings. And what's happened? In the National Football League. Were you surprised by some of the moves at the Vikings made to their coaching staff? I think just remove animation Moos rookie offensive team. But. Travel. I think you have to find some answers for the offense of life. But in failures is feeling he's two years ago. He signed to two free Asian offensive lineman. He drafted O'neil and offensive language gonna be okay. But there's two guys they signed in turn out. Good and. They got off has relying problems. I think until they saw those problems offensively they're going to have problems. Well, how about the coaching staff though, who who reports the home? You've got a lot of very very senior guys. They're fancies coming back as a offensive coordinator. But kubiak house that all going to work out. I don't know about that. I don't know if. Penske is still. He's still offensive coordinator or not. But it seems kinda strange kubiak comes in there. And he's offensive advisor Zimmer. And where this where's your break? Offensive colonel. They appointed. Well, all Clint kubiak who's now the quarterback coach Stefanski our good friends from his time with the Viking. So there's a relationship there. So I think you know, you get look at trust straightaway. And see, you know, who trust to what I was hearing was this defense will call the place kubiak will be overseeing kind of the macro vision of the offense. If you will. What the game plan should look like. But I think the will also said, hey, guys, did this thing has to change his office is good enough. But you talk to people in the NFL you wanna make a lot of money. Be a good offense. Not great just be a decent offensive linemen that goes to free agency. Because you don't see any really good ones ever hit free agency anymore because the positions become such a premium that the remers in reef get overpaid because of it, and that's what Trump against in the market. Yeah. Mike following up on that said part of the things we've talked about on this show. And it's been well written over the last year and a half is colleges are not sending NFL offensive lineman too. So it takes Neil. I think was a remarkable guy for his first year performance via larger say now the draft is not the way to solve it. The draft long-term is still away to some. But don't expect those college kids to come in and be stars in the National Football League right away a page a lot of money to finish. He absolutely free agent. Josh Mike's point there. That's where the money is. I think one thing the Viking fans maybe missed the ball and a little bit is just because you pay a lot of money and this applies Kirk cousins as well. They didn't pay a lot of money and say we expect him to be Aaron Rodgers depends a lot of money because that was the most expensive house in the market. And that's what they needed. They never thought that he was going to be a gunslinger on Aaron Rodgers type. And that's where the D flip will kind of stuff. You know, how you going to win games? Well, flip wants to throw it in Zimmer was run it and all this stuff. But nobody ever thought that Kirk cousins brought in your inside the Vikings to be a kind of a franchisee run offense. It's bigger d Filipo. He wasn't on the market very Jacksonville. Is we're kubiak with ended up. Probably had the Vikings nuts narrative. So he's got to def- Lippo job. Indirectly guys. We got a caller here. I'm night's football related. I'm not sure how relates our conversation. Let's give it a try Bill in Minneapolis. We said we mix our talk with call. So go ahead guys kind of an old school question. Here back in the early mid seventies. On channel four they had a gal that used to pick Viking games with real John Fritz her name was Bronco. She just past two weeks ago her and what was her background? Well, she is sports casserole hang up, and listen, I actually produced the show at the tail end in my infancy days at channel four when she was a wonderful lady married to count planet, or you know, well, he passed away as well. But she was not a sportscaster. They brought her in. I don't remember what her background was because by the time. I got there. She just predicted gales use a fan and she married famous gopher foot, wonderful, lady, wonderful, lady and. Yeah. We are sympathies with family. I know that I got a her son reached out can't afford. So. Yeah. That was her background. And you're right. And Ralph John Fritz did that in the Vikings today. It was called that produced at the end. She was a wonderful lady. Yeah. She and her twin sister, let south high school and Minneapolis. They were students in my dad's class. Really? Yeah. Both of them fairly early college classmates with Harvey McCain exactly all right. Well, let's let's break here. We'll come back. If you under- just last caller did what makes the calls him with conversation. So give us a call during this break at six five one nine eight nine nine two two six we've got a lot more to talk about. We'll do it. Right. After this word settled said, David, Mike. All right. We are back. We will try to mix your phone calls. Text messages conversation, Jeff and Fargo you call during the break. That's what we invited people to do. What's on your mind? Good morning, fellas. Say I got bounce something off you guys on a major league payrolls the twins. Got their new stadium telling her fans that they're gonna while they didn't new state compete with ASD revenue of the CD and the ticket prices. And all that now that being said this spring spring springs eternal, especially for baseball and the twins haven't done probably not done signing players to get their payroll up right now, the twins are in the mid to Laura half of the major league payroll that being said, what do you think major league baseball can do to make up teams force their hands to have a base bottom and a top where it's more equitable for the the fans from any city. Well bottom limits. Do that have just been. All right. Let's let's go to the master on. Now. That's a good question. Jeff said, Jeff Jeff question was about baseball not so much salary caps. But forcing every team to spend at least a certain amount of money. So so some teams don't live off the league and other teams, you know, there've been discussion of that about a minimum amount of stuff amount of money that a team could spend revenue revenue sharing. Of course, they do. But is there anything that forces teams to spend the money? Why not just say, hey, I get my share revenue Sherry, why should I spend money on a team? I'm going to have a forty million dollar payroll. I'm going to get all that revenue sharing. You got a pretty good pay payroll him saying more players if they wanna. The downside to that is what you see in the NFL, and we just talked about remers. Reef what happens is if you've got assigned to get up to the bottom, or whatever it is to get your number. I gotta tell ya. The the mid range mediocre free agent is the benefits you don't necessarily get better. And he ended up over paying for a lot of guys. So it's it's kind of a conundrum twit situation right now. That's probably what inspired the caller there. Right. Under ninety million right now, he denied six or something like that. It's been almost one hundred thirty million like one twenty nine last year league averages about one thirty. So there, you know, people say Machado and everybody laughs Machado when I think that other than our guest shot that down Thad LeVine, but they do have money to God. They got crews, and they can get one or two other. Yeah. Yeah. The money, and it's not that they won't do it. I don't think you. I think they'll sign somebody. But I think they're looking ahead. And they've got so many guys who are in their in their prime to be making a lot of money. I think the like to hold onto as many of them as possible this year, they've got they've got the twain poverty when they go into the market. All right. We haven't talked about today's football game said who do you like in today's football games, like New Orleans, home and got degrees. And all they Philadelphia gave them some problems at home, and they have inflation system, the great football, and people's I've Vija beating them up a little bit. But I think without a doubt shoot tough at home. Are let me ask about the other key. Because I think everyone in America loves Kansas City and how and two thirds of think that the Bella check and the patriots are going to win. How do you feel? I feel Kansas City is essential Rene game. Wow. Oh, man. Why.

"Josh Mike Jeevan chime in. I don't know you had something you were talking about listening in earlier. Josh I was talking to you're talking about like friends, and and I guess I'm we said earlier about kind of. Living above the means. Oh, I got a lot of friends who think that they need? Nice things. And. It really what I was really talking about with. You was social media in today's world. I feel like a lot of people my age they look on social media. And they see people that they are friends with have all these nice things. And it's just like glorification of what may not be true. You know? Yeah. You know, it's interesting you say that because that's the general general complain about about Facebook. And a lot of social media in general is that people will only show you the good stuff. It's there was a friend of mine that put it this way. He said we all want to look good. That's the main thing you think about in life is everybody wants to look good. And they will only show the good side. I find that in conversations that can be frustrating to some extent because people will say something, and then something negative starts to come up. And they're going to show a side of them that they're not not want to say that they're ashamed of. But they're just not as proud of write they hide it. And when we hide things like that, we can't work through them. I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day he was out of workshop, and he said, he says, yeah, it was really interesting. He said, you know, he he had this guy in the workshop was saying that you need to speak things speak about things that you're afraid of our fears that you have and once you put that out there, and then you can deal with them. And they won't be a source of problem for you anymore. I said, wow, that's interesting. 'cause I said because we have a workshop that we do for clients where I tell people to tell me everything you're just scares you to death things you're worried about and then when people do is when I opened that up, and I said, I just want you to complain things that you're worried about and is fun because when I have them speak it out loud, I can deal with those fears one at a time and walk them through it. And if you're if you're always trying to put a positive external out there it can get expensive making really expensive. If you're always trying to look good, and you're always reliving your high school years and trying to show your high school classmates. How successful you've become that's the class reunion syndrome. Oh, sure. I it's funny. The constant pictures of food, you know, look at the cool place on meeting look at the cool meal that I'm eating, you know, I think that is the exact example of exactly what you're talking about is just like wanna show everybody. How much fun how cool my life is. So I'm gonna you know, every time I go to a restaurant. I gotta take a picture of the of the plate before I eat it. You don't know. What's the best deterrent for that? For me as my wife when she sees stuff like that. She will just go. Why do they feel the need to show me? How great the car is that they drive or how nice the house is or how wonderful their life is. And she she'll say that. And I'll sit there and go better not do that. Better paul. It's not self don't ever. Brag about anything. I guess. And I guess I got lucky because my my wife is very very conscious of that type of stuff if not not trying to look too, polished or too good. You know, I think that that's but okay. So with a couple of minutes, we got left one of the things I wanna make a comment about I said, you know, one of the things you can do is talk to your your elders parents grandparents. Okay. And you know, what have you done that has been successful? And look at them and see if they're not successful and go, okay. How can I void that? And the only way you might be able to avoid that. Because you can't solve a problem with the same level of consciousness that created it as Einstein said, it may be that what you do is talk to people like us planners. And you know, the thing I love about financial planning is we have clients from every walk of life. We have people that we work with that are in their twenties. Not many of them thirties. Most of our clients in their fifties. Sixties and seventies. But here's the cool thing is is most of our clients center fifties and sixties and seventies. And what we can do is for the people that are in their fifties. We can tell you what you might expect when you're in your eighties because we've got clients that are there. You know, in your sixties, we can.

"And can figure that out. So I wanna talk about something that we did at TMZ, and it just boy kinda went a little crazy this week. And people in the office were we're actually shocked that I was so passionate about it. But I am. So I wanna tell you before we get into your phone calls. I want to tell you about a case. And it involves a guy named Josh Henderson. He's an actor. He you may have seen him. He was in desperate housewives. He start in the wake innings it's been in a lot of stuff. So Josh lives in an apartment building building in the San Fernando Valley and about two weeks ago, Josh was sleeping, and this was about twelve thirty in the morning, and the police came and knocked at his door and said. Your neighbor says you burglarized a house his his house one of the neighbors in the apartment building. We're arresting you and they hauled him into jail and they arrested him for burglary. So let me tell you the back story here. The reason they arrested him is because the neighbor looked at the security video and the security video you see three guys climbing the balcony of the neighbor and breaking into the neighbor's house. The neighbor was not there and the guy the guys made off with around seven hundred thousand dollars seven thousand dollars worth of jewelry and other stuff. So the neighbor looks at the security video which I have seen and we posted on TMZ 'cause we got it. And it could be the abominable snowman it is hard to know. It's so grainy and weird. But you see the three guys wearing hoodies and the neighbor and somebody else in the building that new the neighbor says one of those guys that's Josh Henderson. And we know it because look at the Joe line and look at the way he moves Josh moves in a very specific way. And that guy moves like, Josh Henderson. And so and look at the light. So the cops look at it. And they don't know Josh Henderson. And so they go back to the station and this was earlier in the evening, and they go back to the station. And I don't think they were going to arrest. Josh that night. But here's what happened. The neighbor starts calling the police at around. I think around ten o'clock at night saying I'm super scared. I'm really scared. He's gonna come back. I'm really afraid. And so the guy keeps calling. And the cops. And I'm going to say something about the cops in a minute. But the cops decide. Wow, this neighbors. Really scared. So we can't wait for the morning. So they go in the middle of the night and a rash arrest. Josh this was before they were able to look and see was there an alibi? Was there? Another security camera. Could you see anything else? Josh have somebody who can account for where he was they went and arrested him that night. Because the neighbor was scared now, I want to say something about the police because I really believe the police have an impossible job that sometimes when they act they are just hammered in the media and by the public, and when they don't act they are hammered by the media and the public, and I have a lot of sympathy for that. Because they have to make split second life and death decisions a lot of times and sometimes it ends up badly for the police. So there is police abuse. But there is also a difficulty in performing police work. And I understand that. And I wanted to say that that set this neighbor that's so scared. Has four guns and told the police earlier, well, whoever went in there didn't steal the guns because Josh is afraid of guns now. That means is Josh really a violent guy that you would worry about first of all what evidence did this neighbor have that Josh Mike come supposedly quote back and hurt him. First of all, Josh didn't know that. He was a suspect. Secondly, did anybody ask the neighbor? Why are you afraid of Josh did Josh do anything threatening to you in the past which I'm told is not true? Why do you believe Josh? If this neighbor is just crazy, and is just afraid that should not form the basis for pulling somebody out of bed in the middle of the night. Right. Right. But that's what happened. Why didn't the beliefs say, okay, you're afraid. He didn't take the guns. We don't know for sure it's him. You're saying it's a jaw line. And now, you're afraid and you keep calling us. How about this go two days in for tonight? How's that for an idea? You know, go to the Holiday Inn, go somewhere. But if you're so afraid we can't just go because your subjective, crazy fear, and yank this guy out of bed and arrest him will look at it in the morning. Josh is not going to flee the country, and we'll see if he has an alibi. But they didn't they arrested him. Okay. And again, I understand the dilemma of the police I really do because you know, it looks I talked someone in the police department, and they said, look if it were Josh. And if Josh did this, then hey, you know, he deserves a then then the neighbor deserves protection. And if we didn't do it in something happened to the neighbor, we'd be. Hammered and that's true. But in this case, if you'll look at another security video you see Josh go into his apartment at five thirty in the afternoon, and guess what he never comes out ever comes out of the apartment, he stayed home. He watched survivor with his girlfriend, and he went to sleep. Josh Henderson is innocent. Josh Henderson didn't do this by the way. Josh Henderson's girlfriend help this neighbor and the two of them, Josh and his girlfriend had a key to the neighbor's house. So they apartment unit so they could pick up packages and bring them inside for the neighbor. So if it was Josh Henderson. Why didn't he just use the key? Why would he climb over the balcony the reason I'm so pissed off about this is that when you get arrested, and especially if you're a celebrity and gets online you're guilty to a lot of people. You know, what happened here was that the DA the file has to go to the DA once he gets arrested in order to clear him. You gotta go to the DA. So the DA ends up rejecting the case. And you know, and because look he had an alibi. He didn't do it. The neighbor was wrong about the video. But but you have you it's hard to unscramble an egg. And once it's out there. Josh Henderson arrested for burglary. And then they said, well, we're not going to prosecute what percentage of people. Do you think are going to believe? Well, he probably did it. He didn't do it. He was innocent. And a really scares the crap out of me that this can happen that some crazy person. And you know, I don't know this neighbor, but I'm just gonna say suppose, it some crazy person accuses you and then says they're scared, and then you end up getting arrested for something really serious a felony. Anyway, I wanna talk to you. I'm excited about this. This is going back to my roots. I love doing radio. So again, give me a call eight hundred five two zero one KFI. You got a problem with Lord? They even the staff as how's he doing back and forth change your clothes? So it's a wonderful program. And I really wish I could do more to pay it back. Ooh. There are hundreds of stories like this coming from Fisher houses across the US and overseas too at military and VA hospitals. I'm Mary Walter in Washington DC. And if you're asking the question right now that we hear all too often. What is a Fisher house? Well, we have the answer for you meet army vet and now president of Fisher house foundation, David Koker with the story of how he found out. What a Fisher house is gosh, you cannot map the road. I come from a military family with my brothers, my father, and my brother-in-law we've got some hundred and twenty one years of service in the army through that service. It was only natural that I would have my career as a healthcare administrator. I was stationed. Army Medical Center. Learned we were receiving the gift of a Fisher house, and I learned about it. Simply taking a walk with my wife when she was pregnant, and we go around the parade field and on one hand, they were building this nice big house. And of course, the I guess the commanding general's getting a new place to live and come to find out. Now, that's gonna be the Fisher house while the second question is what is the Fisher house, and nobody could really tell me so I called and at that point there were just a couple of Fisher houses enough rations, and they said, well, this is a place where families can stay and when somebody comes to the hospital. Many times they number one don't know where to stay number two. Can't afford a place to stay while their loved ones in a hospital, and and it just. My heart. And and as I went to the chief of staff, and I said, sir. What's what's the plan for the Fisher house? And of course, as our sponsors. What's a Fisher? And essentially I asked if I could be the point person and through that I I got to learn how special a Fisher house. You're listening to home away from home. The Fisher house story brought to you by fisherhouse dot org with your host Mary. Walter from Washington DC. I remember the first thanksgiving, I got to spend a deficient house. My wife all interior to be the manager. And that man I was number one ball on tier? And and every Fisher house has a some personality that I thanks giving. We had five families in the house.

We want to share that with the folks who want all these companies to be so successful. They take us even further, so it's more they, here's, we offer for you. We're not asking anything in term except for take the good stuff. Don't take the bed stuff and go further than we went. That's our hope. We hear a lot about competition between partners between commercial and government the way you speak about it. It doesn't sound like a competition. How do you evaluate the current state of things? Well, you know, that's a good question. Yeah. Thanks for that. When Josh Mike, you know. Well, you know, be perfectly honest. You know, there's different providers that want to provide different services, right? So NASA wants to provide a service exploration d-box Persian deep-space expiration.
