"And these are obviously very oppositional thoughts to attorneys feeling like i'm going to be the hero but there's that moment where you actually face to thing whether you've been thinking about it we're talking about it. There's that moment where you like stare at the car. You're about to hit or the bridge. You're about to jump off of. Or what have you and then your feelings. Just come. They hit you. They hit you so hard like This is truly the end of my life. And even if i have these feelings about it. I've made this decision. I've accustom myself to my fate. There still is that last minute of emotional reconciliation where the finality is ahead of you and it is breathtaking and i think charlie's partially experiencing that as well and so is the audience. That's the crazy thing is that he dips down we believe. Would juliet said that. Yeah this is going to be the end of charlie and it's a fantastic dip were then. He comes up in the moon pool. There's air it's not flooded charlie's alive. Oh but something much worse coming. Because here's a lady pointing a gun at him. Know he still has a chance. he's still he's still at least he's breathing in there so it is cathartic and i remember a lot of people myself included coming into this one thinking that this was. Charlie's been hyped up to die all season long and he's getting the final pre. Finale flashback people die in their flash. So i remember a lot of this is it and so you really are with them holding your breath that through because you ready for it. And then the beauty of the score when it takes sort of like this like horror flicks. You're not killing. Charlie like that. You're not gonna let him die without like a beautiful mon right. So it's it's weird because like it kind of like it like it's still like it makes you draw the breath longer of like we're really really in this right now but you suddenly oddly have some hope that he is going to burst through the other side of the moon pool and be okay because we're just a and this is another character. Who has been told. He's going to die threats these three but we even had him nearly dying in season one and survive before like. Wow okay maybe. This guy is unkillable away. This is a real good news. Bad news situation. But let's go back and talk about desmond side of things josh. At what point do you think desmond made the decision to try to go down instead of charlie. And was that before or after he tells jack i'll go with him in the outrigger. He's probably been thinking about this for a minute. You know he's probably been thinking about this burg a little while and like you know. There's a reason why he wants to go out. It's like this this part of them. That feels like obligated to see this. All the way through with charlie because it does he really believe in any of this. Is it actually real. It's a test of his own faith like are the visions you're having are they authentic or is there something else going on here. Are you a crazy person. Am i sending this man to his death and then also probably within like desmond storyline this reverberation this idea of europe coward desmond and him with that and he's been with that for a long time so i think that's that's on his mind you've got to imagine and then here they are in that final moment and i think the desmond truly does believe that like maybe the key to turn here actually. Is that like the visions will stop. If i stopped to like. Maybe it's not about you. Who has to go. Maybe we are linked for this other reason. Maybe you're the test you know. Maybe you're the you're the one who is brought to. The top of the mountain in the real test is like throw you off. I don't think that's out. Goes the way that's not how this how this works. I also think this really connects so much back to catch twenty two where we've seen this before that i think as much as desmond tells himself like yep. I'm fine letting charlie die. He can never really let it happen. He barely lets. It happen at the end as we'll talk about next week. And so i do think this is also just connecting back to being like gel. Let you go through your sacrifice but just never being the person to be like. I can't let this happen for the good conscious. Let this man die. I need to go through with it. And then once again charlie saying like. Hey stop doing that. I'm going through with this. It's fine and i know that there's some people who take issue with charlie out desmond jesse camacho. I'm looking at you. I get it. Tv moment we've had a lot of these tv moments along the way it is a tv show. But i think it's also like if desmond is going to start making this move of like. I have to be the one who goes. I don't think that there's any talking desmond out of stuff. Yeah i i try. If charlie really believes that it's his destiny to be the one who goes he's going to be the one who has to has to take matters into his own hands in his hands half to hold an elderly. That's exactly what it is that you know. She knows how stubborn desmond can be. And there's only way like there's only one way to take this guy out. There is by brute force but to your point yes. It is built in for dramatic purposes. But i feel like whoa these two guys being out there. Scans perfectly for both of these characters at this point in time and what they want to do. The tragedy of desmond is that as much as seen does things need to happen in a certain way. He himself as the type of person that refuses to make that happen. That refuses to beat the bystander to that. Despite what elevates hawking tells him and the fact that charlie is somebody who maybe being given opportunities or maybe being basan by the fact that his death does not cause the exact outcome and happy ending for clare that desmond said what happened incidentally clear. We'll live the island just in a different circumstance. He's still is like. I need to go through with this I need to show the person that. I have become that these two guys that we have seen for better for worse beat the drums over the course of season three. And it's also another reason why sending works so well as again you know. It's not like okay. Charlie's death is now out of the way. Now we move into the big other war of season three now. We have this whole new thing on our plates to deal with aside from the whole others possibly killing all of eight one five incites planned coming to effect is. Oh wait now. There are others. That might have charlie hostage and this could be a problem. Oh of it. I love it. I love the ending of this episode. It's the end of act one of three act for now and everything is up in the air and it's all really exciting water. There's some hope there's some beer. There's everything that you act absolutely could ever want from the show. So i love greatest hits leaves off a really great character study. It's sweet it's sad. It's funny it's exciting. It's the greatest hits emotionally lost. It's just a. It's just a really really tight package of an episode and it's it's one of my favorites. It reminds you how strong these characters are and how much they have left us. You know that we have seen granted a lot of the stuff. We have never seen this character undergo before but it really makes us pontificate like. Wow the charlie as someone who has been in our lives for three years perfer better and for worse than to actually memorialize him while he's still on alive but still eulogizing him. In a way makes you profoundly realize how important all these people are and that just how like you know threatening and make sure that the others are coming but also how. It's going to set up much more heartbreak and triumph to come over the next three seasons as well all right some feedback from the hatchlings from the great. Jim bell's aforementioned. Jim writes in and says. I'm sure you guys will talk at length about desmond's vision. Lots of fans seem to believe that desmond was lying because he wanted charlie to go through with this. But i can't imagine that to be case. Yeah now. I've heard this a little bit mike like i would. I would completely down this. I just think it is just. It's it's such a hard pass from me. That interpretation i think is such an unsavory look at desmond that would be for me really hard to ever look at him the way that we're meant to look at him again for someone who like you said. One of his biggest phobias is being our. Why would he do that. And essentially like do a coward's way of lying to charlie to get him to go through with it. And how does that lies completely countered when they get out there and doesn't says no all go down unless that's him you know knowing. Okay i charlie must really doubled down on this so let me falsely. Put forward that. I'll do it knowing that hilson over in front of me and no way no way. I don't like it at all. Stefan asked us. How would you rank. Charlie's five greatest hits. Ooh i don't know. Is it terms of like character. Imports or objective important. Because i do think as we said like the driveshaft moment i think objectively might be higher up there Then things like learning how to swim for instance Yeah maybe i would switch those learning how to swim. Maybe number five hearing drives getting the ring. I would put four driveshaft on the radio. It'd be pretty dope. I think that's a solid three. And then i think we're good with the rest of the. That's how i think. Number two is fun because i think that's actually a really interesting order as well because it goes from like the biggest moment where they made worldwide fame to the smallest moments where i didn't know charlie from adam and he was still able to make an audience of one of the macro impact. He was able to make mike puncher asks what are down the hatches top five greatest hits and why is number one. Count jackie the price. Here's what i would like to throw out there mike. Because i'm unprepared for this. And i don't think it is for us to say. Hey i don't know it feels very like i don't wanna do it but what i would do is i would bask in the glory of other vehicles Greatest hits so we do have next week. We're doing the finale. And then the week after that we will do. Our standard stopdown look back at season. Three answer feedbacks through all of that. So hey hit us up down the hatch. Greatest hits list. Tell us what your top five is will read it on the podcast when we get to this season. Three finale feedback special down the hatchet post show recaps dot com senate in we wanna know why not we. We love you hatchlings and much like you know we have been along for the ride with these characters. Y'all have been along for the ride to listen josh tonight. Pratt alon nonsensically for almost seventy episodes at this point plus many bonus episodes so. Give us your top five baby and we'd love to hear about it especially since we're past the technical halfway point of loss but as josh albee says we are closing a book tomorrow yes act. One is on its way out. This is a really funny. One from driveshaft had enough great songs to release a greatest hits album. Why are we only hear you all. Everybody is the album. Just that one song on. And i feel like there are a lot of bands that have greatest hits albums but for some reason the radio algorithm only puts out one particular song again way says fat for an example. We only really know wonderwall right. But i'm sure you could fill an album with oasis. Greatest hits disrespect to champagne supernova. There's there's there's a ton of oasis out there. Maybe you only know wonderwall. Mike but this is the i. Listen as a random this side of the beatles. Listen to the radio man. And that's i do not hear much from oasis outside of wonderwall all right so email us down the hatchet post show recaps dot com with every song from oasis. Please send me the discography. Yeah we'll we'll go through it. Let's do mvp l. vp's. Mike got three. Mvp's i've got three l. vp's the vp's are hard really really hard. The mvp is our hard in that. There are a lot to give out. And i think probably our instinct is to give. I only have two. Mvp spots and i have to dump them both on. Charlie yeah i mean listen. I'll give another one as well. I mean this is dominic monaghan finest hour and this is a sending off for the character. Essentially we'll have to give it to them in drips and drabs when he appears in ghostly form after season three or sideways him so well. He's officially in the positives. We were wondering. Where's where's this gonna land for charlie. And he's he's still on the show. We haven't lost him yet. But heading into the finale into his swansong. Charlie has two positive points after a long time in the negatives for season three. He's got five positive point so he has risen and then also come around a bit from like you know again. The asshole charlie still showed in the beginning of season three but i think he's ending the season very very strong from when he started. But i have two other. Mvp points here now. I'm going to spread the wealth a little bit. Welcome back to the mvp. Category jack shepherd. It's been a minute. I'm going to give one to jack has now. He is finally out in the open with his plan. He has a plan. It's gonna turn out to be a successful plan. And i feel like the gumption with which he promptly takes the reins back for eight one five should be acknowledged considering how much of a desert we have been in. He's his own oasis in a manner of speaking. Okay so jackson. Mvp point who else. I'm giving it to alex here because as much as you want to say. Hey carl did all the leg work in getting the message over. Alex was the one to not only get that message to carl but like basically pushed him onto that outrigger. You go do this. And so i think if alex does not do this. We are looking at a very short run of lost because all of eight one five gets gunned down next episode. So i'll give my first of three l. vp's. I'm going to give to her. Father i'm going to give it to give on. Well let's double up on ben here this way you know he. He makes very reactionary decision. He's flexing he's he's charged up ready to go. He wants to exert his dominance. This is going to get many people killed and it's going to get him beaten up by jack. This is a big bad.

"You play you win you get paid and I know we talked about it and you did it this week I did it over last week I signed up put one hundred bucks in there what are you at with that one hundred one to two hundred twenty bucks yeah I did a par lay I was the NFL Games yeah so so that's still in process but you did you double your money I did get you hundred percent so you took advantage so I would I would advise everyone to if you if you like throwing some money on some games go to my book dot Ag Double Your money and then just bet with the the Fremont start with that the worst case scenario you're even if you lose like they say playing with house money play without money so check it out when you chance mybookie ag but outside of Outside of some gambling how about the Buckeyes in Michigan State that was it was a great game and it was it exposed a lot of things it provided a little adversity for a house state which which I think is so necessary and to be honest it's even more necessary they need more of that Ohio state needs more adversity they need more struggles more challenges if you're one of those people right now that says we WANNA win at all I'm telling you right now what Clemson is going through this season is not good for their chances at winning it all NFL state wants to win it all which they do which I'm sure of these people listening do they need to face adversity survive adversity learn how to get through adversity because that's dot Com and the worst thing you could ever do is not have experienced it and then have to face it against the best team in the country and it's a bad deal and a good thing is is the first and second quarters were jekyll and Hyde it was it was two different teams and it was it was definitely a growing experience for Ohio state it was great for Justin Fields for Ryan Day for the offense to feel that kind of struggle in the Kelly and then over comment Michigan State game they they looked like they were juiced they were definitely juiced yeah they got their first the offense got their first taste of it a real defense right like that that's a real good defense like really good absolutely based it's the first it's the first nationally l. of in defense they face and only the only good thing they had as their ace in the hole was offense Michigan State's offense is horrendous yeah it was one of those and we I said it I said a number of times in a preview show this is gonna be a great test for the line for the run game for the offense as a whole and luckily it shouldn't be a huge test for the team like the outcome you said it was going to be like what the a half test for one side of the ball and it was absolutely and the offense align struggled bad at first yeah but that's what happened Thank you get hit with that bullet in your face and it's like whoa time out this is not like the last four games this is different this isn't Miami of Ohio and so I've always believed this and I'm GonNa before we get into more of the analytics of it I heard a story from Urban Meyer about Tom Eighty and I've always believed this and that's why this is going to be the mantra of and it has been for the last four games and it will continue to be is her story about Tom radio so Tom Brady was in patriots minicamp like just you know going through practice whatever and urban was there he was visiting and he shared the story with us and Tom Brady was throwing throw like he went like i WanNa say urban city went twelve for twelve on a seven on seven period or whatever and was just nice and everyone up and there was an assistant quarterback coach that kept being like Oh man great throw Tom what Matt great read Tom kept just reinforcing what he was doing well right and he was like so he ended up going twelve for twelve or twelve or thirteen but Three he was like eight for eight he turned around he was like a man shut up and it was like Whoa and the quarterback coach the whoever the quarterback coach was jumped in it was like whoa what's going on he was like hey man I don't need anyone telling me like good job great job great like I don't need none of that doesn't do anything for me that doesn't make me better I don't care about I'm here to work I'm here to get better like if you see something that I need to improve or do better Zack's Helmi Yup and if if you don't we're good like I Tom Brady said I promise you I know it was a great read I know it was a great throw I saw exactly if I'm the one that did it but if you can tell me something that I didn't see or didn't do right I need that that's a nugget I need it and so when I analyze all these teams specifically Ohio state because I know people on the staff and players I don't care about what they did really well I mean we'll talk about it and I'll I'll let you know what I saw they did really well but that I want them to win the whole the whole thing I'm not going to be shy about it I do I want I want the players that I know in the coaches that I know to to hoist the trophy so I don't I don't care about that so I want to tell you what they need to improve on like when I watch justice fields I think he's probably the best quarterback in the country he's in the top three for sure and so when I watch his game I don't watch it to say man that was a great read and throw to Ben Victor on the long touchdown of course it was we all know that you all know that what I want to talk about his where where where does he need to improve to get a heisman trophy because he's talented enough so let's talk about he could do better and here's where he could do better in the game against Michigan State he was I mean he was he played really well five with an interception when he was pressured so that's twofold right that's one justin fields needs to be a little bit better under pressure and the old line needs attacked him better because that's that's not a strong suit in it wasn't in this game but at the end of the day when he was kept clean he was seventeen of twenty you for two hundred and six yards and a touchdown I mean that's absurd eighty five percent completion percentage that's absurd and he's got the skill around him and I haven't seen fully the skill on the perimeter that he has we've seen flashes from Ben Victor and we saw a major flash on Saturday right It's amazing when I watch Ben Ben is an he had a bad drop everyone knows that what was so impressive was the bounceback the confidence didn't drop he he didn't he didn't let it ruin him he bounced back and made a couple great catches and here's what's amazing to me this is why I recruited him it's why wanted him I mean one of the reasons is when he catches the football and takes off he has electricity that most six foot three and a half receivers don't have he eats grass. take time to him you eat grass when you run like two strides five-year game four strides tenure game six rights fifty in your game or maybe twenty he runs and it's effortless and it's so fluid it's like he hit that Headlinin in May you talk about well coach and Kudos to Brian Hotline I teach it all the time and I'm sure he's still is you hit that sidelined there's one defender what do you do you run right at him and you attack him and if he overruns you back if he doesn't you stick him frees him and keep going any did and now the the only thing I will say is you know you don't ever reach the Oh he knows that I mean hopefully doesn't do it again but what a play and it was really the play that ignited the offense absolutely you watch him run man and it doesn't even look like he's running fast because he's just taking up so much ground you just floating me it reminds me of Yeah it remains let me of Terrell Pryor Terrell Pryor would run everybody be like man he runs like a four two four three whatever I'm like he doesn't even look fest but he just there so long along the just take up so much grass yeah for sure and that's what Ben provides and then you I mean you watch Caja Hill had a had a really good game he's he's tried and true guys you can always count on Austin had a good game the guys that didn't get involved in much like Chris Oh la Union vulgar as much and Garrett Wilson was there a little bit especially later in the game but overall as the offense goes and just feel specifically he is making strides he is playing extremely well and he still has areas he can improve on and I said it last week and I'm GonNa say it again if we focus on what he can improve that he I mean he's going to be ridiculous he's special he's a special talent special the other the old line that I've been more than critical the line and last week they played really well and I was fired up to see it and the one thing I I watched was the right tackle position because Brandon Bowen has been playing well obviously he was little dinged up got injured whatever and and so that was post game press conference he said well both Emma Josh Albee they earned the right to play they deserve to play and that's why we rolled them which I agree Ryan one hundred percent because Josh best past pro tackle they have and he's just not as good in the run game as as their or or Brenton Bowen the problem the only problem was I said seventy but but probably to send a message to Brandon Bowen and a testament to how josh played initially Josh I'll be start so he's the starting right tackle for a huge game which is huge for his momentum and his his his own story the only problem was he isn't playing well at all and Greg stirred Roya made the switch back to bow and he wrote him at right tackle the rest of the game but Josh Josh Played Six snaps three throw off as a Lineman Ohio state has had and then he went in this game got to start it was like this could have been a changing of the guards like it could have been I mean you you hear it all the time college football this could have been that moment where one guy takes the job from another guy and he just did not do it and I got to tell you that I thought Billy prices out there for from the bengals because that's what he does every time he comes in yeah right boy but overall I will say this the first half was bad the first quarter was a bad quarter for the office line and I think it was a good reality check because they bounce back and they really really played well the next three quarters so as critical as am.

NFL eighty five percent one hundred percent hundred percent three quarters five-year six yards six foot

"Now is something that I didn't think was possible. Both I didn't think you could be Pete Carroll and Urban Meyer. I'm saying he is Urban Carol. No you watch you watch his team play though they are extremely disciplined extremely tough extremely physical and they are having fun like it looks like players coach but they're playing a disciplinarian coach. He's nuts out there. It's insane so I wanted to throw a couple of stats etc here so when the real conversation here the offense is look good. It hasn't looked bad obviously in my opinion. They're the best team in the country right now what they're putting outing on tape not what some bias tells you rank them. I don't know how you could watch all of college football and not say this is the best team in the country because it is and people are saying now even Mark Mesa Jason. It mark may an Paul Finebaum right Paul Finebaum the SEC homer homers the two biggest Douche bags sports media both admitted it. That's how that's how well they're how good they are but the shocking. I don't WANNA say shocking. The most surprising aspect of how state right now is their defense. It's Yeah I'M GONNA throw. Here's a couple of stats for you. This is pro football focus rankings well. What are they fourth or fifth. In the country overall nationally ranked the best defense in College football the second best rushing defense in college football the best tackling defence in college football the best pass rushing college football the best coverage rich pass coverage unit in college football. That's not number one number one number one number one and number two versus the run like that. What what are they going. I think so you think you can't pass against them obviously and he can't run. Well and everyone likes to throw out who who they play. They haven't played anybody. Blah Blah Blah a lot compared to oh but a lot of teams haven't played anyone housed is one of them but they are beating teams so soundly and to be raped ranked number one almost across the board in every defensive category. It's it's unheard of and I mean their offense is performing the fifth the fifth grade offense in college football and the number number three pass offense in college football. The past blocking is subpar. A thirty second in the country rushing offenses subpar twenty-sixth in the country so a little perspective. You're not act like everything is just cooking. It's not but it's this team is playing really well and the other grades don't don't match stats though because Jacob Dobbin stat line is impressive but that's you know obviously grades and film and stats don't always coincide yeah. It's it's you can have have stats like that and there could be a chicken or somewhere and you just you don't realize it until you go to play Michigan State and then it's like Oh shit. Why can't we run the ball yeah well. We can't really run the ball that well. It hasn't been running at Great. That's why you can't run it today but they re the off. The line was player of the game in the unit of the game in my opinion after watching the film and Josh Albee was phenomenal. I mean he came in for Brennan Bowl and when he got dinged and he he was I think he was a player of the Game Brian announced. How's he was offensive player of the game he was dominant and it's what Josh Alabi should be all year long. He's been the best pass blocker when he would go in. I mean these Games are were fortunate enough to get to watch the second unit office line play and he's been the highest graded pass blocker of of all alignment he his run blocking was where he struggled and I read something and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he switch sides. He was laughter now. He's right or vice versa. You know that's that's how it works. Though you're the sixth Lineman Lineman you're going to have to switch. You're going to have to play and he wanted me. I switched or whatever he was. All backwards in his run blocks up the wrong way a lot. Well what happened is as prince if people remember when he was he was the right tackle when Demarco Jones was there and then last year last year whatever two years ago he switched to left tackle. Which is is your most important position because he was the best tackle but he everything was screwed up his he? He just couldn't couldn't do it and so they ended up. Stud Greg stood Rahula moved him back over the right side and started Thera Mumford at left tackle because that's where is as comfortable as where he was best and it was the best unit so it's definitely different different especially. When you live you live with one foot back for eight years or however long. Play right tackle you you are used to pass sets too. You're right. You're used to run blocking the right everything to the right and then it's like all right. You're moving to the left and it's yeah I mean girls was when they switch up in the dance right but yeah he said it's taken wild but you could see. I think he's getting a lot more comfortable in that other side now yeah. Oh yeah he he definitely is so it was good to see him play. They need that office. Line needs spike and production a little competition. Somebody playing that well where now even the starters are sitting there like ooh I better I better be on my game but I think that that was the that was definitely the unit that I I was most impressed with an and Kudos to Gregson Ron because he's doing a phenomenal job of getting those guys developing those guys in season. I thought they were the under performers early and they're they're starting to come on and you love that because I've said it one hundred times I think on the show certainly in life that the job of an offensive line coach is harder than anything else in football. You have to get five five human beings to operate successfully in succession in sync with one another. It's like that is like even defense. Alignment your your defensive line. Coach doesn't have to do that now. It's more about disruption and defeating blocks. Offensive Line is is that is a hard job on top of that. It's like who in the world old if born find a four year old right now and say hey hey man you. WanNa do something for the rest of Your Life Like Okay Dad would put your face and smashed into this three hundred and thirty pound guy eighty times in a row and then take a shower and go home and then next week. We're GONNA do it again. Like who in the world is like. Oh Yeah I WANNA do that. Yeah no one but the ones that are really good at it love doing it they do through. It's a mentality but it was. It was really cool to see on offense. I mean ah you're watching the best quarterback in the country right now. Seriously the Justin Field Show is in full effect. He's the second highest graded still I said this last week and he still is after this last weekend. The second highest graded quarterback in college football still behind Joe Borough Ninety two point one percent insane what I saw on Saturday though and I had to look up the stats because every time it happened I was like oh he just gashing them every time they blitzed him. This son son of a bitch was gassing them. Just gashing M. C. was six for six one hundred percent completion percentage over one hundred yards passing when they blitzed unbelievable now now he was nine of sixteen when they played coverage and here's what that tells me that shows me that Justin fields is playing extremely well and the scary part Hortas not even close to his ceiling because what he's doing is he's just playing ball. He's just out there. The or the protection breaks down. He gets out there. He makes it throw but when he's sitting back there and reading it he's going to get better at that. Yeah he's GonNa. He's GONNA improve at it for sure and I've been critical of some of the scheme because it's hard to attack seven with four but at the end of the day that that what I said right there should be terrifying to fusions as this kid gets better gains experience experience starts attacking four man rushed seven man coverage defenses. He will be even more unstoppable. Yes I mean this is not a veteran fourth your guy that is just showing the country's the best the best quarterback in the in the in college football. This is a guy that he's just getting started when he starts gaining experience out there just picking apart the defenses in zone or man just picking it apart. That's going to be unbelievable unbelievable and it was it was just it was impressive. All the way around the only other off now the only other player on Ohio State's offense that grades out in the top twenty five nationally. Jk Dobbins is a number twenty four so to to have blinders on and say that this is the most dominant bla-bla-bla like there's there's still some work to be done in Columbus. Let's not not get ahead of ourselves here but J. K. Dobbins continues to gain steam he he he actually so this is a lot of yards. He has a lot of yards but so listen this. He's he's he's avoided twenty two tackles this year already in what four games twenty two tackles and that's fifteenth in the entire country for most avoided tackles but forty seven percent of six hundred and fifty four yards have been on eleven carries who so there's there's. There's a couple different ways to look at that right. There is a well he's not quite as efficient as his numbers may say or he's really explosive explosive because he gets chunk yardage so if if if he gets on over fifteen yard gain forty seven percent of his carries or his yardage is that that's the highest percentage in the big ten. No one in the big ten is getting more explosive runs than him not even John Taylor wow and it's it's it's it's really fun to watch and if that offense. Lichen can keep it going and keep developing and they you can start having more consistency. Jay could have a huge year. He's playing phenomenal but the like I said earlier the real story we line here. Is that defense think about this now. There's just think about if you're a defensive coordinator or if you're a fan it doesn't matter right now well. How state has the the highest graded corner in the Country Jeff Okuda. Obviously he played lights out this again. You had a game. We talked about it last week and he forgot there was a game last week actually but he he remembered remember Saturday. You know you're live right when the ball just kind of falls man laying on the ground there it is you definitely went to church eh but he has the highest grade of any corner in college football right now at eighty nine percent three interceptions three us just plain ridiculous. Oh and what else would you like. Oh how about the fourth highest grade safety in college football in Jordan fuller not bad eighty seven percent. That's not bad all right so now you've got the secondary. They're gonNA be able to cover some people. What else would you like. I don't know how about the highest grade defensive end in college rushing. Yeah I'll take shares. Young has caused twenty one total pressures this year so.

"Ago and it's just something that happened. I get the file back on on when I'm feeling kind of down and like you say you know like a Western dress that she never worked for something like that but it's funny because I just retired like I said but I I got my screen actors guild card who since nineteen sixty nine I am I registered with social casting which is the background you know what they used to call extras back then and I think getting a few jobs and it's so different now absolutely incredible and there's so much better two extras this unbelievable although here they call it holding you know which doesn't sound good but I was I was doing thing is one of those background things and on the third day I can say a child actor mccrone Sunday says Oh yeah what movies have we've done and I said well. I was in a ceremony Johnson from that kind of a shares were. That's my husband's favorite looney teacup picture. Can we take picture your picture you know and I and I don't no no I kinda liked that. I might have to try and do that again retirement and gets kind of boring after a while. I'll tell you what's wrong with being retired at all. I have to say you know whereas you're in this so you had a big career even in a bunch of great things and yeah it's your my. Johnson is a wonderful movie up to be a part of but you know like I said it was much more than that. It's out imagine the shots of a shot of a kid working with Sydney Pollack at the time in one thousand nine seventy three ish I mean it had to be one in millions right whereas now I know it's more competitive but think about this josh you know they. We have more avenues. There's Prime Hulu Netflix in about twenty places but when you were when you were growing up when we were growing up because we're we're close in age you know there was there was not many what the three main stations NBC ABC CBS and maybe maybe a movie and that's it right yeah movies. Thank my forte so we mentioned retirement. I hope you'll mind me saying so I think and I hope I think you're a big fisherman my right with that so it's ironic because a lot of Redford's movies you know after Jeremiah Johnson in Jeremiah Johnson. A river runs through it a bunch after that. We're all fishing related so I think it's kind of ironic. How you're a big fisherman. Talk a little bit about on your passion and your love for vision. It goes back about thirty years. there's something about added. I believe that I've been kept a little younger because of it. I I didn't for a long time just to go on a sport fishing rushing vote in these six in your comes back at six and so you gotta get up real early you gotta get ready and kind of it's almost like like having a routine who exercise routine I actually the first fish I ever caught. got me hooked. was we had a friend who have a friend who used to work on a fishing boat and he said he's fish fish called yellowtail. You have to come down to Don't bring anything I'll give you. I'll give you a poll of food and I I went and did it and he hooked me up the yellowtail that those things fight really hard and it took me around the like three times and after that I I was Hutch and then I studied doing half day boats in you can go out on the second half and then they have full votes and may have overnight night votes and pretty soon. I just wrapped up in the whole fishing thing I go. I'm going on the twentieth of this month for seven days. Fishing trip to baadlu pilot very wow wow I go with some friends that a couple of them work on the day votes in other words. I want to cook my friend Danny Danny and he he on his day on his one week vacation. He goes on a seventy fishing trip. He's a little crazy is he. You know he's looking vote all. EPA Not fifty two weeks a year long one and then heartache advocation. He goes for seven days straight right that right. That's the fashion of that so I have to tell you that like I live about an hour away from in Cape Cod in Massachusetts and one thing I will never understand Josh and chalk this up to stupidity and humanity whenever there's like shark in the water people like freak out they almost act like it's the sharks fault for being in his own home right so it's like like a shark like well where the hell else is a shark supposed to go. It's like going in the Safari Afar in a jungle and being stunned that a lion is in the you know it's like. I never understand it every day in the paper or online. There's people are upset about sharks sharks in the water. Will that's their home like. It's it's almost like the ultimate like. Are you serious so I as a fisherman. How do you feel about that and and people in in tally Josh to me is just I dunno. It's awkward you know yeah you know there as a more fish more suction alaric 'cause the water's warmer and signs out and stuff but people just don't yeah. I don't get it. It's almost like how dare you come on my beach well. It's how it should be. How dare you go into their home but anyways that's I guess is a conversation. I have to ask you is there. I know you fish a lot. You keep busy you know. Is there an actor or a movie or a show that you've seen recently or that. You really impressed with an actor a movie a show. Anything really catches your eye as a as a former actor as somebody. That's really been an accomplished Actor is now a days that you find intriguing. You know really isn't that's strange yeah. There's so many different characters there to begin with. I don't fifth year right. I just don't coach them. I guess I'm a little jaded. I mean yeah I mean I I get that. Do you look back and I mean you have to be proud of. What you've accomplished my goodness I mean that's got to be something that you're ultimately proud of. I mean your yea rollercoaster ride and that certainly has an effect on people but you when you look back are you. Are you proud of what you've done. Oh yeah definitely definitely I. I wish I had a life in kids so I could show them all these little movies that idea and commercials and things in a lot of stuff and nowadays you can pull things up for your TV that unbelievable I did a die hard battery commercial on Super Bowl and reverted up brand new TV bringing the five voice and sure enough. It's me and man's him. Hey Dad I can see our car. Lights are on so he turns around and that's in guy it was it was it was a baseball commercials but it was for football but he's faithful yards and yeah and he he misses the homerun because our lights on but anyway Hanjin there no. You're not in my last question to you outside of fishing. Is there anything else you love to do with your time. I mean we mentioned retirement. Do you have any other passions that you'd like to kind of you know. Do you know involve yourself or anything else that you love to do. Besides fishing I dabbled in being an extra and.

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid and I kind of thought yeah if you talked to. He's just like a regular guy have his final when I found out that I got you on my Johnson. I thought Oh man I get to do guns in home to its Jesse. I'm GonNa you do a lot of guns stuff for sure. I'm eleven. I can't wait but anyway he. He was really easy. of course. I didn't have any align so I didn't have to worry about too much of that. I kind of knew their lines. They I needed it real bad but I have one was real remembering. I remember things weren't going right. We're in the Canyon and and Utah that time of winter snow just comes down and goes past you. You know you're in snow for a while there. You're not in snow and that was Kinda hampering. You're not keeping any kind of consistency in the in the in the filming coming so sunny shows you know go off to our lines and he goes galloping often for long way. He was bad. It was tied to our lines because he also his lines. We might have not been doing so well. You had a bunch of and we're worsened there for awhile. He's saying lying to me and he's looking in. I'm looking back and then he just gets into this enormous blast and you can almost hear down the Canyon he goes. I just remember you have no lines and everything it was good again. We go back down because we went galloping up. You know smile hold on tight but yeah together so long ago that I don't remember many of the things that I wouldn't want to sure enough now the eh but I almost feel like your life would be a great book as far as just on your acting alone I mean you're in this wonderful movie. It's got such iconic lines. You know you've done well to keep your hair you know. Was it worth it. I mean I know that ending. Josh it just makes you ball every time because you know what Redford's been through you know the story and it's just such a beautiful like so we have. CGI Today right. I mean it's all anti-siege movie. It's about as real as you get. It's it's one of the last really beautiful movie shot that weren't enhanced that weren't you know played with and tinkered with with a computer with with graphics. It's pure pure movie Cafarelli and Okay and he wasn't done. The character wasn't planning on getting family. You know just Kinda got pasta upon him. They got that was so intricate too. It's like I don't think it seems like in the beginning of the movie. You really is not look for a wife and yet shone upon him river sequence. Gill you awesome talk about him. As an actor was he just fun to work with see you get to interact with renfrew because many of your senior with him most of them at some point in time. I talked to yeah he was funny. He was so funny and they had their thing where he's like sniffing these like trying to get back out of his nose and the Raven feather and insuring my anything by this. I don't know I don't know what happened. Hiding ain't nothing sodomy or any keeps the snickering Sir than let his he goes. He goes kitchen rivers. Kim Flown in. It'll come out after I having weeks after that all through the whole through all about because it was so funny one point you had not laughing. You know it was just it was too funny Johny. I don't want to give it away. I mean the movies was filmed a while ago. I mean for those who haven't seen it. I can't recommend it enough. It's in my certainly my top five top ten endless of all time certainly one of the things you know the seventies growth in the seventy s and I have to say Josh one of the things for a different reason in the seventies seventies. There weren't a lot of movies or shows that showed broken family or family. That didn't have a dad or a mom or I mean granted. This is different. I understand it. You know it's a different situation the situation but still you know you talk about the point that Redford kind of adopted inherits his family and is a man about it right. We see a lot of shows today where the father is absent and this this and that but it's it's it's a great week for that reason to Josh Right..

"Jeremiah for me anyway. It doesn't really matter what the order is but I I went ahead and I was getting hard all over the place and I I got. I got Jeremiah Johnston and that open and all kinds of doors for me after that I I did to gunsmoke one of a was a Christmas special ed see only Christmas Christmas special. They really have played every year as a jury foster Erin Moran and the guy was hunky. I forgot his name right off hand and it's a runs every year and things like. I think that that would have just a little more extra special. I am I actually do so called the question of love with Jenna rollins and Jane Alexander and I played the nineteen year old son they were a couple Generale Jane Jane Alexander. I stuff back then and he goes about seventy nine eighty and very we're going to court over the custody of me and my little brother and that was also something I did and then in between all that was forgotten the big stuff I I was Tom Sawyer on Tom Sawyer. TV station it was one of the her heart's hearts me to play because I was always cut the downtrodden hidden. I can somehow pull that off pretty good and this kid was really happy. VN vivacious all the time so even if they young age. I knew that was gonna be a harder part and I had to work a little harder to do it. that had a vic morrow as engine. Joe and buddy absence played muff potter the drunk drunk. I it's funny when you think back in you know yeah. I have all these needs to drop this. I really think hard yeah but I'm looking at your immune. I mean I've been studying studying you forever because you know we've been planning this interview and and you know I gotta say for those people thinking or that aren't familiar with your career. I mean you're not just this kid who got lucky with this one phenomenal movie. I mean you're in some serious things you mentioned last see you. Have you have a part in the addams family emergency. I mean you're in some pretty serious things. I mean that's for for a younger kid that you feel the pressure at that. He's plus. You're playing these parts that are very I don't see downtrodden and sad but this some of these are really tough to get off the fuel pressure in any way as a young kids. Definitely you know and you're almost fresher not so much to do it right for them to do it right for you. You know says you've you've taken the task I I am. I did a hour half TV special where called the runaways where I ran away from home and meet up with this leper for in I go to I'm looking for my father run away from a foster home and I'm looking for my father and I find out he dies and at the same time run into this leopard that has run out of a petting zoo or something like that and and we need along the way and that actually topped the weeks ratings for sixty minutes all in the family. The holy faced always do the what who has the highest Nielsen rating catch happened to just click in at the right time and so that that was out there for a couple of years they retained it for a couple years but not life Jeremiah Termi- Johnson his bend my in my claim to fame to this day if you anywhere in life the Middle America or something like that and you happen to bring it up. There's somebody that knows yeah. We're GONNA get to that. I I really do feel Josh like I said we'll get back but I really do feel like that. Movie is so like connick and I mean I feel like it's getting like a fine wine better eh age. It was fantastic when it came out and I almost feel like it's even better now. If that's even possible I it's hard to explain. Josh you know yeah I know and it's really interesting I I get I've gotten a few things that are really touched my heart the people that found somebody over why working hard hardware store for about twenty years and I'd be talking about it somehow and breath on guy overheard it and he comes back with a camera in your Christmas because get a picture with you are overheard you. You saying you were Kayla this. This will make my desk day birthday. That's takes a picture frame. I'm senator. It's car racing. I've I've had a few stories like that. That is actually It was the only time that being like that ever related on anything that Lebeau flight was the only thing that we both liked. His Dad was really strict and really tough with him. I guess but somehow when they were watching that movie. You saw like he liked him. Don't say that Yeah Yeah Yeah. I mean it's almost like and I hate to use this word because I hate to be overly dramatic but it's almost like a spiritual. You'll movie josh you know. It's one of these movies that it's just nature. It's out there on your own. It's this. It's it's it's a movie. That was way ahead of. Its time. I'm in a movie. That's just so perfect when it came out I mean it's hard to explain in words. You know it's got to be one of the last movie that had an intermission right or two right didn't intermissions.

"The new video putting out for patriotic and i'm gonna put one out for patriot one for just general public called film forensics because that's one of the place that breaking down because j._k. Dobbins flat had an and protection and i told you in the preview show j._k. Needs to be better and paseo that has to happen and it didn't happen. I mean he had a complete bust in pass bro. He bypassed the linebacker that he was supposed to block and that linebacker hit justin fields that can't happen not if we're going to if estates and go out and win the big ten that can't happen. They need a running back. That is excellent impasse bro and that's what that's what zeke was has carlos hyde was. That's what j._k. Needs to be for sure. The only the only real negative i could say about justice fields is and it's not a negative. It's first first game game of the year most quarterbacks i mean almost every school in the country would kill for a performance like justice fields heads so we're really nitpicking here but he does need to clean up his timing a little bit he was laid on a couple of quick game throws and a movement throw the and being especially a movement throw like a rollout that can be disastrous. If you're late i mean the whole defense is pursuing and versus better defense. Both of those can be problematic if he doesn't get it fixed but fortunately it was f._a._u. Is going through the grades. After i've watched the film i thought justin fields obviously played extremely well. I thought you know what kudos to brandon bow and grading out at eighty two percent at first game back. That's that's big time they need to. They need that jeremy rucker. How about him unbelievable. I mean he he he really burst on the scene and we're gonna talk about some things that need improved moved on especially the tight end position before catches thirty eight yards two touchdowns greater doubt it at seventy five percent i mean that was really excellent game for area the other one joan jackson so the two the two new guys on the offense line essentially graded out the highest on the offensive line and then ben victor and austin matt graded out decently high to <hes> <hes> some some disappointing i guess points of need to improve for the buckeyes the first and foremost offense align <hes> it was it. I wouldn't seen a bomb a nation. It wasn't terrible but why davis played very average. Josh alabi when he went in the game was very average in the run game but josh josh albee is a very athletic tackle. He graded out really well impasse bro but when it came to the run game and moving people and being tough he wasn't there. He didn't show up but the really really the old enters a whole did that. You didn't see a ton of just displacement f._a._u. You shoulda saw major displacement and the other thing. I saw that it was very concerning is there was twice in the first half that we seven-man pass protection. We kept the tight end and back in and they've had a three man. Rush and fields got pressured twice. I i mean just you do the math. That's more than a double team on each guy so we had to ohio state players on one player across the board and they still got pressure now schematically. I'm not a huge fan of that because anytime you have seven man pro versus three men rush there have a lot of guys in coverage covering covering your four people right really three people because the quarterbacks throwing the ball so you have now. You have eight people covering three hard to get open so schematically. I really hate that package but i know kevin wilson had success with it at indiana. It's more of a temple thing usually but it was not not that impressive and and and then i really people i know buckeye fans or just on cloud nine right now think we could beat the patriots. I thought it was an average average. First game above average will say above average. I game jay dobbins was was okay..

justin fields jay dobbins jeremy rucker patriots josh josh albee Josh alabi zeke kevin wilson indiana brandon joan jackson ohio davis carlos hyde ben victor austin buckeyes seventy five percent eighty two percent thirty eight yards
