I guess the Halloween was there was a demon inside me yesterday for 5 hours. That was my album. I love how the hostility to sort of carry over on Twitter because I saw you tweet and you started doing the all caps thing, which is great. And then it goes right after the game. I will really knock you out right now. Hashtag go paths. And I was like, all right, Kyle, feeling himself, that's good. A couple minutes later, can't tell me nothing all caps. I was thinking about checking in with you and seeing like, hey, we okay, what's going on? But the fighting words carried over to Twitter, so I was all about that. I know. I was just everyone was being really nice and nice and gracious and even at the gas station way to get picked up. I don't know. I just this guy had a look about him. I was like, come on, say something. Let's do something here. It's been a while. But nothing happened, so. Wait, you were trying to fight guys? I was trying four hours ago. Is it trying to fight? I was just like, you know, but it sounds like you were. He was hoping somebody would try him. Here are some chargers, guys. Like, just, you know, set it in motion. And honestly, I don't like any of it. And in the moment, even I was like, why am I doing this? Why is it this way, but it just felt really good. It's been a tough season like you said earlier. You know, we could be 7 and one, but we're four and four, and we're, you know, we almost weren't, but we were, because we kick the shit out of the Chargers. Can we just back up to when you said let's maybe get it going? 'cause you're beating yourself up here a little bit, but you're admitting that you loved every minute of it. I don't care about it though. You know what I mean? So did anyone any charges fan look back at you and be like, relax or let's go or do you guys do kind of the staredown? It was a lot of stare downs, but we were keeping it moving, you know? Because once it releases from SoFi, there's just so many people. And a lot of them were patriots fans, so a lot of them were good. I was basically seeking out a lot of the Patriots fans and giving extra hard loud high 5s and then looking at the charges fans around. But then, you know, we were all kind of moving in the same direction. But then when you get to the outskirts and there's people are going to break off into their Uber lines, other people are like, oh, where should we go? There's like a couple restaurants, a couple gas stations. So they took my cigarettes when I went into so 5. You know, you can't bring singers into SoFi. So anyway, that was my first thing. Was like zipping over to some sort of gas station just get started again, but I don't know. It was like, once we stop once everyone was not moving out of way from the stadium, it was like everybody was kind of like doing their own thing. I was like, all right, well, what's going to happen here? But all the charges fans were really gracious and nobody really wanted any problems. Well, I was going to say all 32 stadiums like a way stadiums you could have gone to. The one you're least likely to get into a fight is probably a charger's home game. Correct? They're by way more pass fans there anyway. Yeah, it was probably about 50 50, maybe even a bit more. There was a lot of charter. Still some rams jerseys there that was fun. But I guess my thing was, I hadn't been to a pats game and I've never even been to a pat's home game. But the last time I went to a pats game was they beat the shit out of the jets like almost ten years ago. Maybe like 8 years ago now. And those fans were like, they were still talking shit even though they got beat like 30 by 30 points. So I was just hoping for something like that and nobody was doing anything. Like that. So I just kind of had to bottle it up and go home. So nothing happened. I just didn't like the way I felt and I didn't like the I was watching myself make actions and hating myself for it at the same time. So I might just stay away from pat schemes for a little while. But it was good to watch our guy going to win. Did you or your Nikhil Harry Jersey? I wore a Wes Welker Jersey, actually. Cornell pal is the answer or mccoll's finally going to take a huge step forward on the outside which is out of position for him. But i'd like to see. So there's no reason for the chiefs to be interested in him if the chiefs are gonna go free agency route again. I don't think this guy significantly improves you. From what you already have. But the only guy. That's available that i would be interested in is dede westbrook again. I don't think that's any sort of significant upgrade. He's basically until we antonio. Calloway and you have antonio calloway already on your roster so i think what they have right now is probably barring some sort of trade or a surprise cut after camp what they're going to have going into the season and that is a little bit concerning because what you're looking at right now as tyreek hill which is great but then mccoll hardman damarcus robinson cornell powell byron pringle and then probably one of marcus camp garrick deeter antonio calloway or daria shepherd. One of those guys probably going to be the final roster spot where the wide receivers that just doesn't inspire a ton of confidence from me. The only guy that i feel good about his tyreek hill and then everybody else is a massive question mark in when i read earlier. This week from nate taylor of the athletes and i quote from the voluntary wait workouts in the teams mandatory minicamp mccoll hardman appears to be in position to have a breakout season as he is expected to have the role previously held by sammy watkins. That's terrifying for me. I i don't think he's a guy that profiles to play in that role sammy. Watkins was a prototypical x. Wide receiver where he can line up. On the line of scrimmage and beat man press coverage that is the opposite of what mccall hardman profiles as in fact the only guy on the team. Maybe you got two of them. That can do that. I think is cornell powell and byron pringle and i don't think those guys are starting level wide receivers at least not right now so i. I don't think they have that guy on the roster today. Listen i. I think as upset before that is something that is being overblown using the words terrified a mike that that feels a pitch strong. That feels a bit strong to use. Sorta josh gordon. And i i hope he hooks up with chip and joanna gaines down in waco. And maybe they can you know do some kind of work with him. Maybe he can help build some houses and work at magnolia farms. I don't i don't particularly well. I think they can help people. I think he got a better chance to his life getting on track them. Come in and play in the national football league. And that's melvin ingram or justin. Houston which. I'm sure is going to bring a lot of groans from the people listening. Why did you wanna touch on these guys. Yeah i just think i mean. Here's the thing right. Now what the chiefs have in the defensive end group is clark taco charlton. Tim ward mike dana. And joshua canedo. And i know everyone says you know chris. Jones is gonna play a lot of defense dan. I while i do believe that. I'm not going to put all of my hopes into that basket. That frank clark christians are going to be on the edge you know sixty sixty five percent of the time and that's gonna solve all of our pass rushing problem because at the end of the day the chiefs are looking at the buccaneers and maybe a handful of other teams as their real competition to get back to the super bowl and all of those teams have you know except for the buccaneers of course mobile quarterbacks to the point where they can at least get away from the rush so the chiefs have to get better at that. They can't really have the the struggles that they had last season. And it's hard to know whether you're gonna get you know a bounceback hear from frank frank clark or not or if he's going to be completely available with this you know situation that transpired in california so outside of assuming that chris jones becomes the starter on the other side. I really do think that the chiefs need to beef up the defensive end group and so i mean the two guys right now right that are out there that are probably the most appealing are going to be. Melvin ingram and justin houston. Now i get it. Justin houston obviously for some people. It's it's kind of a little bit of a turn off but i would just say from a talent standpoint. Who would you rather have is in my opinion. There's one guy that i think is still very good. And there's one guy that i'm i have some serious questions on so i'm actually kind of curious before i say who i'd rather have which one you would prefer l. Justin houston just has been better than frank clark over the last two seasons. Okay you can take the play offs of the equation..

"Just is fine on special teams. Like i don't want him to take a a roster spot away from a marcus camp or a guy who can also play special teams just because of quote unquote potential. I i'm a royals fan. I know a potential is. I've seen albert ammann to see just to me. I would like to see cornell. Powell get his fair shot. I'd like to see mccoll hardman right See if he is going to be part of the future or of mccoy harman's just a guy Damore because robinson you know. I think he's a valuable piece. I don't think the marcus robinson has a ton of upside. I think he is what he is. But what d- rob is is a guy who knows his system. Andy reid trust him. Patrick mahomes trust him. So where i just to me. Throwing into keel hair. Because he was a future. I re or past first round draft. Pick to me. I think a shiny shiny toy but the toy doesn't anything. Yeah and i mean that. That is something you know. I keep on. Is you know the fact that i think. A lot of people are looking at the departure of sammy watkins and again not to denigrate sammy. He was obviously super meaningful to the team during the twenty eighteen and twenty nineteen playoff runs. And they'll always have a place in chiefs history because of that but his regular season production and availability. I think people are almost remembering it as if it were something that it isn't and that's i mean. He averaged twelve games per season. Roughly five hundred twenty five yards and three touchdowns and so. It's not like we need to you. Know take these risks or trade away draft capital or do all these crazy things to replace production like that. And you kinda hit on. I actually have pretty high hopes. For mccall hardman. I know he's kind of drawn. The ire of chiefs kingdom. But i mean if you look at his production not being the quote unquote wide receiver to. It's actually not as bad as people think. In fact you weeks ago. I did a piece kind of along. These lives where. I took a look at so the chiefs. Were the number one passing offense in twenty twenty and so i wanted to look at kind of the top five or six offenses and see what was their wide receiver to actually producing. Say our expectations. For mccall hardman. Maybe too high. And so i looked at like an remember correctly. It was buffalo houston I wanna say new orleans maybe and then Another team or two and either way long story short. Roughly the average for the second most targeted receiver was about seven to eight hundred yards in about. I think sixty receptions and that's i mean nicole hardman. Last season had five hundred sixty yard. Which again isn't jaw-dropping. But i'm with you on that. I think the unless unless the team feels really comfortable with a talent. Like josh gordon or feels really comfortable with a veteran like golden tate. I do actually think they're going to be in a really good spot..

Now the one thing i noticed and this actually once i noticed this along with another aspect i started to think to myself okay. Maybe it's worth giving ago so the first thing is apparently reportedly he's been doing tests for the last three months and he's passed them all now that could mean absolutely nothing like he obviously has to pass those tests to get reinstated but it is the off-season and he's shown some dedication you know. At least it seems to kind of stay clean and things like that. So i'd say that's a positive but the biggest thing i noticed this actually really kind of shocked me. He has averaged in his career. Seventeen point two yards per reception. And you know. I saw that. And i was like wow like. Even in the seasons where he wasn't a huge factor in the offense all of his catches were averaging out to these huge yards per cast. And so something like that. Kinda got me thinking. I looked a little bit more and his production over the three seasons that we talked about and he is again. Averaging about five hundred yards per season playing about nine games and so long story short. I would say as they can't body in potential roster spot if he wants to come play for the chiefs if it's the thing where he is really open to the idea of playing for team like cheese contending champion and at least being cleaned for enough time for the to evaluate him. I don't really see a huge downside to simply bringing him in now. You know we can talk a little bit more about nikiel hairy and the wide receiver room After this but that's kinda my thoughts where where do you fall on that Situation i would be a huge fan of bringing him in judge gordon. That is at least seeing what he can do because he's only thirty. I know that's pretty old for football but that's not extremely old for wide receiver right. I think they're still obviously a lot of talent. He's not been banged up. It's been the wheat. It's not like a guy who was perpetually injured right. it's not a guy who's been able to stand there because of injuries because of well smoking though we'd we know patrick mahomes stands on that as we saw this chakari. Richardson how he seems to be all for let him go. The nfl's getting a lot less strict when it comes to marijuana so i think that also goes and josh gordon's favor you know. The talents undeniable. kansas city. They've dealt with a lot of distractions on this team recently. Britt reid obviously the whole tyreek hill. Saga that was another distraction. Do they want to bring in another distraction. Because it's not act like judge gordon's here and we're everyone's going to say all right. Seemed to be very adept at this. They seem to have a very good organizational structure to where they can handle. And it's not going to bother them. "Talk about the Patriots. The the Patriots grabbed everybody's attention by making move after move after move after move. Like we're watching it over agency going off. How many people are going to bring in its kind of unbelievable how many starters they've added? And so I count they added ten players that I think are very very significant to their team next year. In fact, I would say pretty clearly the Patriots are back and a lot of people saw this coming, you know, but they are going to be a force in the NFL next year here is my list my nerdy list of the ten players the top players. They added that are very significant to their roster next year. The first two are massive. It will reshape the entire Patriots offense. They added two tight ends Johnny Smith and Ed Hunter Henry. To Johnny Smith signed from Tennessee. He signed a four year deal worth up to fifty million dollars. That's Thirty one point two five million dollars guaranteed and he's only twenty-four years old. So that's Monday. That's a really gigantic Marquis franchise player. He cited the reason why it came to New England is cuz he loves Bill Belichick. He's got great respect for him. And I want to point out of all the everybody I'm about to talk about these shows to be in New England Bill Belichick got his kind of guys who sought out New England wanted to be there and wanted to work hard and win a Superbowl. I think it matters. It's very very exciting. These are not with Josh Gordon's or what's the other example Phillip Dorsett who they made a move for and they're not really like that. So, how can I think you and I would both agree. I like Cam Newton Tom Brady's a better quarterback than Cam Newton. So my point is if Tom Brady couldn't make it work with New England's roster. How was Cam Newton supposed to succeed? He was set up to fail will now Cam Newton's being given weapons is being set up to do. Well, I'm excited man. He's a former NFL MVP, he's hungry. I I personally believe Cam Newton's going to have an awesome year and it really is going to make extended one-year deal with like it was like three and a half million dollars with a bunch of incentives. I honestly think we're gonna look back at his contract at the end of next year and go. Can you believe the deal they got on Camden he played so well for no money. I really think he's he's a guy who can didn't play well enough wage. Last year to earn a new gigantic contract. Predictions vs Reality NFC West, Seattle Seahawks
"I predicted the Seattle Seahawks to go 11:00 and 5 last year. I pretty much nailed it. They went 12 and for the only game I missed was the San Francisco 49ers. I could not predict that the $59 would have a bunch of injuries. I thought that the Seattle Seahawks and the 49ers would split their series each win one game against each other instead Seattle beat the 49ers in both games. So that's literally the one game it's kind of crazy. I was horribly wrong about the Cardinals the Rams the 49ers. I nailed Seattle. My prediction was right there for I'm actually not that interested in Seattle. Like I like I said, I'm actually way more fascinated when I get stuff horribly wrong. I said before the year that Seattle relies too heavily on Russell Wilson, they're starting quarterback 2000sq them from their problems and kind of ended up being true now, they brought in the receiver Phillip Dorsett. They brought in Phillip Dorsett from New England. I was curious to Phillip Dorsett kind of a breakout year and Go from a guy who was infuriating to watch a New England to maybe having a great season playing with Russell Wilson. Unfortunately Phillip Dorsett did not play a single game the poor guy hurt his foot in training camp and by November Phillip told I was getting surgery to remove bone spurs from his foot. I encourage you look up a bone spur does not look like a comfortable thing but credits yet. I Seattle try to get Russell Wilson some Playmakers. I thought we were set to not work out. Josh. Gordon did not work out. They brought in. You know Speedy Josh Gordon. He had a setback in recovery. Seattle had to end up cutting him so long so brought in Greg Olsen. They they got a veteran tight end Greg Olsen and I look I got a lot of respect for Greg Olsen. He's awesome. Last year Greg Olsen. However was underwhelming had 24 catches for 239 yards one touchdown played an only 11 games missed a couple of games with an injury. So in the end Greg Olsen retired, so Phillip Dorsett, Josh Gordon, Greg Olsen, like the move Seattle made to try to support Russell Wilson just didn't work out and that's not bad. It just it didn't it didn't work. Unfortunately right now again, I love Greg Olsen. He's amazing. I cannot wait to hear the guy in the broadcast booth next year. But now the one thing that came out very very well for Seattle on offense was DK Metcalf. G came back up Seattle second-year receiver. Oh my gosh. This guy is a monster. He had 83 catches for 1303 yards 10 touchdowns. I love to see that DK Metcalf is a receiver that is just at the beginning of his eventual domination over the NFL. He already does dominate in some games. So he keeps getting better and better and he keep getting better and better the more we watch him. Now as I look back on Seattle season, one of the things that kind of sticks out to me that's very weird still is I just did not love their 2020 first-round picks Seattle is kind of known for having weird. First round draft picks. They drafted linebacker Jordan Brooks 27th overall. And he was her early on so Jordan books now, I will say I'm not going to trash on Jordan books by the end of the year. He made some plays with doing some good stuff like Jordan Brooks. Very good football player solid right desert looks like a first-round pick the end of the year. But here's what's weird to me is that when the Seattle Seahawks went to a nickel package meaning that you bring in an extra corner or defensive back onto the field to basically stop the past when they win to track a package which is happening more and more in the NFL because teams are throwing more and more than ever before. In a nickel package. Jordan Brooks is on the sidelines not playing maybe part of that is because they were he's a rookie. They're trying to light workload. I don't know but it's kind of weird to draft a first-round pick and then not have the guy on the field. All the time makes me wonder despite Jordan Brooks being a very solid football game. Could they not have got drafted somebody 27th overall last year that could have contributed even more to their team. Just a question. I'm asking cuz I looked at it. I still book how it's bit of an odd pick life. Even though Jordan Brooks can play it's like whack could they not have done something better or maybe more interesting than Jordan Brooks just me asking a question here. You can answer for yourself. Watch josh gordon. I didn't know if. I should be like sad if i should be happy. And i'm happy because he's playing football right like it's clear that's what he loves but at the same time. I know. there's a lot of people who hate josh gordon. Who are like mad at josh gordon. They continue to hold this grudge against josh gordon. I mean he is. He doesn't deliver life for you But i understand that some people get low annoyed for some reason when someone's has gifts or early level skill set and they feel like they quote unquote wasted I don't i don't i don't know i. I understand the frustration about it. Because i just want to see the guy ball out you know what i mean but i don't understand get mad about it like being angry at amer hayden because of it like. Yeah it's frustrating. I get it. I wanna see on ball out to But i'm happy for him going to play football and i'm hoping This is kind of just a you know a little refresher course for the real thing i did see like the nfl. We'll be in that he can fix it all and get it strayed but man. I'll be the first guy lineup. If josh gordon is back in the nfl. Ibn it's my fancy teams. And i know. I know he's been gone for so long. How can you possibly be good. Last night he played. He wasn't that good. I don't really care. man. I think drives gordon is good. I believe he still did. I think he's still better than hathaway rec- recently. Possibly and i'll think on josh gordon. All day and fantasy and the bigger conversation is taking the chance taking a shot players. It doesn't have to be josh gordon. But there's guys that maybe you like that other people don't like as much or that you like. And they aren't talked about so highly or that you like and they had a down seizigner two and you still believe I have no issue if you have a deep dynasty team or redraft but super deep rosters You draft those kind of guys I did it. You know in dynasty with josh gordon. For a long time i did with jerick mckinnon for a long time There's a few other guys that you know through injuries. All that kind of stuff. Like i stuck by the man and i enjoy the return of them like even if it's not you know top of the league return or like you know pure rb. Wawa receiver one. You know. i'm okay with that okay. They're just flex where the Some weeks or whatever it is like there's something about like sticking loyalty or guys and and believe in their talent overall right over the health concerns or off the field issues and then sometimes they don't play out In your favor and josh gordon has been kind of one of those you know in a way It hasn't been so great since he's been able to come back and leave. Come back leave. But it's still that risk that i take and it's the practice of it for me like a willing to take that risk on guys that i like on guys that i believe in that. Get the chance can play well. It translates to other guys. It's not just josh. Gordon of the world There's the martavis bryant of the world right lake similar mold like i take chances on him before but again like i said that just that mentality that approach that strategy is what helped me have a jerk mckinnon you know in hold tight and it actually play out pretty well For certain games last year. And you know he. He rebounded for sure right. if there's just players like that For instance maybe. Maybe you have a quarterback who is a backup right now And you either traded for him or you drafted him. But you didn't let them go. Say marcus mariota. For instance you had him as a titans quarterback an and it doesn't work out then he goes because the raiders backup. Not this man. Is again that this again. But now. like what. The raiders trade him. He becomes a starting quarterback against somewhere. Like your chance. You're gamble your risk. It paid off. And i know mary a different case. And allow these other cases because they're not in trouble right They haven't had fifty thousand chances in and blew them but the point remains the same as what. I'm trying to get at here I i do hope that this whole josh court situation. This is a stop of sorts and he does returned to the nfl. In whatever capacity in that he's you know flex worthy fantasy or you know something you know why receive if he returned to you know obviously receiver. Three demi great. I'll take flex a couple of weeks. I just wanna see him. Get there Because it's not about fantasies while life she you know so. It's one of those things where i feel like people laugh at it and they joke about it but i think subconsciously somewhere. I'm i'm just pulling for josh gordon. The person and that's why. I continue to hold that hoping that regard also But yeah talent wise. I do hope. Josh has to return next year will be with the seahawks. Will it be with you know another team. I don't know you know this is this. There's no way to give advice on this at this point. It's just if you believe in the guy you hold onto him right. I'm marcus mariota. I really like and he ends up coming back and playing. That's a success to me man and if he becomes flex worthy and ragged the train them later for other value later. The top of my head that i've continued to hold onto now In the jerick mckinnon devante parker You know type of mold that you know i could still be holding onto in some people's eyes even too long at this point I don't know if i have any of my dynasty teams right now. that are in that mold. I'm trying to think of top Yeah i believe it or not. I still have josh gordon Team or too so. There's actually a team. I have with mckinnon end josh gordon. So see i stayed held held strong to a certain players that i believed in So those are just two of them but and there's going to be more. Do not do not ever question the fact that there's more players like that That i'll just hold onto in dynasty. 'cause i'm allow with super deep benches and you know i just find it fun to hold on guys like that and there's players right now who are playing that currently make sense sort of how people's benches but one day you know in their third season whether or not you know tearing it up as we had hoped though still beyond martine and i'll still be waiting for that player to have his resurgence antonio brown is another case of this As mad as he made me as a raider fan as mad as he made me bolden on his before the season acting so excited on video to be off the raiders team. I still had antonio brown on some teams and that hopefully isn't a payout. It looked like it looked good last year when he came back. And i'm hoping that it should only better next year. I'm listen. "We have to talk about the biggest storyline in the NFL Antonio Brown as it looks like the saga for Antonio in some ways is finally ending and in other ways. It's just beginning for number eighty four as Antonio uh-huh Brown signs a one year proved deal with the New England patriots and it's hilarious because there is so much speculation when all his shenanigans with the Oakland Raiders for going on that really it was just a grand master plan for Bill Bella check to somehow land the all world talent wide receiver in sure enough he gets released from the raiders and later that day signs deal with the New England patriots another huge weapon in the offense four. Tom Brady and this has shades of what Randy Moss did did when he was with the Oakland Raiders. Moss spent some time in Oakland during his games he played for the raiders. You could just see that the big hall of fame wide receivers hardest wasn't in it. He wasn't really producing for the raiders he was now running routes with this full heart. You can just tell that he wasn't the Randy Moss when he was sooner in Oakland and then he goes to the Patriots under Bill Belichick and has a career year a record setting year with Tom. You can't have this going on in your locker room on your sideline. Researchers Uncover A Circuit For Sadness In The Human Brain
"Reports that involves distinct pattern of communication between brain areas involved in emotion and memory, there's lots of evidence linking sadness and other emotions to part of the brain called the amid della. But a team of researchers wanted to know precisely what the amid della and other brain areas are doing when someone's mood is shifting because so Jose psychiatrist at the university of California, San Francisco who was part of the team we really wanted to get at you know, when you're feeling down or when you're feeling happy. What exactly is happening in the brain those moments? You can't get that from brain scans there too slow. So the team studied twenty one people who were in the hospital to get brain surgery for severe epilepsy before the surgery doctors insert tiny wires into the brain and monitor its electrical activity for up to a week. So how says the team hoped those? Recordings would help answer a basic question. When patients are sitting there watching TV or talking with their family or just waiting or being anxious, which regions of the brain are talking to each other the patients agreed to keep a running. Log of their moods. Then the team looked to see whether certain moods were linked to communication within specific networks in the brain. And so hall says some of them were what was really surprising to us was that it was the same network in most of the subjects. So in about two thirds of the subjects there was one network which over and over again would tell us whether they were feeling happier side that network involved communication between the amid delight which plays a role in emotion and the hippocampus which is critical to memory the signals between these areas became much more intense at times when people reported feeling sad. So how says the finding published in the journal cell may bring comfort to people with depression as a psychiatrist it's incredibly powerful just to I think status patients. We actually know there's something happening in your brain. When you're feeling more down. Josh, Gordon who directs the National Institute of mental health says in one sense, the study merely confirms earlier research on animals, it's finding a circuit a piece of the brain that we kind of already knew was involved in mood. That's the less than well part. The wild part is that it's human beings.
