Awesome intro in that that welcome. Obviously obviously bitcoins. Could've been a little bit steadier. Seventy one hundred seventy one fifty. I feel like if we stay at this price for pretty bullish actually moving up at some point. Of course it's opinion. I'm always bullish Polish. Shut up jam. I don't WanNa hear all that Jim shaking his head for those less. Now I've been reading. I've been reading the facebook posts. I've been reading a a game over dude back it up. bitcoins done bitcoins bitcoins. Dead and buried my dude. I did hear some things but we'll get into that here shortly as people may notice here for the Thanksgiving. I'm at my folks house. I'm borrowing my dad's office. I'm sitting here trying to make Internet connection work down here in the state of Alabama Obama and Jim. I know you're back home in your typical Jimmy Fallon Studio so As this holiday we can get caught up you know and we get there on Thursday and happy could drive the be respectful. Losing me. Now I get you back your back. Yeah be respectful and have a safe holiday. I mean this is a holiday for the the. US folks we're talking worldwide. But I mean in the stop and take a second to just think about what. They're thankful for the United States and for me. That's how foolish I am on Bitcoin and Jim's got all these really crazy ideas because old new Jim. Oh there's been scouring Internet finding everything he can about. bitcoin is going down to two thousand hours. So tell me what you've learned. Yeah Oh yeah you know what I did see. Some people. Saint Two thousand a lot of people were saying thirty five hundred and then it'll bounce awesome. Then it'll die like it's GonNa Bounce just die again But yeah you know what two thousand and I feel like that could be too because the price is going down pack it up. BITCOINS joins over game over man. It was fun while lasted. Or you know Y- Gem I the thing is I understand and I appreciate the way. I don't think Jim actually feels feels that way. People were gonNA pretend like he does tonight. I don't think that's actually the case. But I love his ability to be the devil's advocate here. And we're GONNA have a slight discussion about this. You know your your thanksgiving. You seem bitcoin go down. Guess what twenty seventeen. We had an awesome Thanksgiving everybody but that twenty seventeen. The price was just about where it is today. Jim and that's what's funny. Is what a difference that feeling is because we were coming from the bottom of what we consider a low but it was really a high at that point which was at twelve fourteen. Fifteen twenty five hundred three thousand five thousand or runs next thing. You know November twenty seventeen Jim. Guess what. We're at six thousand bucks. Well guess what two years later. We're at six seven thousand bucks. Guess what last year I I think what we were around six or seven thousand bucks. You know I mean it's it's been pretty consistent how this the November's have been around this price regardless list of which sit at what sediment you feel. It's been steady at this price. Isn't that interesting. Yeah Yeah I mean I have heard the other side of it is people say it's just the holiday holiday sale. It's just bitcoin. Though the Black Friday came early for bitcoin still just slashing prices. So you can get in on it now. Is there like you mentioned you know Thanksgiving you know we're we're. We're on the cusp here. Now for the people that do go home for Thanksgiving and you you try to talk to your family about crypto. Now if they get a little wind of this you have to try to explain yourself now with this. I guess the Fund is the right word shirt regularly yet. No I think it's a great question especially because you know. We have bitcoin for Christmas right. So mouse felt myself. Jim Josh Donaldson View. Others Ashley Meredith. Obviously in all the great work with mouse vogue is the developers. You know we really All pitched in our thoughts ideas we put together all these things to be able to have this conversation with folks and although it says Bitcoin for Christmas I mean it's irrelevant with the holiday is or whether it's a holiday or not. It's just a place to go and be able to have resources that allow you to not only see. Hey this is a way to to be able to Explain certain information but the guide allow others to figure it out for themselves. which I think's really special? It's important that we recognize that. This is hard to understand. It's a concept that people we are ready probably have a generic idea about and if they had thought really highly of it already began. So everybody you're talking to hasn't bought end right folks so that that population that people that have not bought in they they need to be spoken to and you don't have to fight with them to get your point across right if you start arguing you're going to be like oh big ones right and there'd be like bitcoins wrong just because people just argue they all have this idea that we're all on the Internet still and at and a little bit of money instead of flavor you're GonNa get a recipe for disaster so handling yourself properly really important Jim to to your point here. I think it's very important time for people to get caught up refresh on the basics of bitcoin. Why does it matter? How does it work? What is the expectations? And what was Sushi's original intentions. What we're his? What was the reasons why he was doing this? And if you think back people if you go back to two thousand eight in there in the financial crisis does it surprise you. That two thousand nine you know the to- she's worked began and then by two thousand ten January two thousand ten. You know we were really up and going going in two thousand nine. We're up going January. And then she did. We made our our first one year anniversary of a a working product. That's why we are here today right so think about that not. Bitcoin was literally born from that moment in time that financial crisis whoever they are that person he or she or non binary as as Actually likes to remind me It it's irrelevant. Who Said Oh she is I just know this? They saw that there was a problem. They fix it they say. Here's a solution rather than complained rather than vote for this person that person who has done nothing they just fixed it and we're used but yeah but that's kind of my thing though. Is that the monkey wrench into the idea of Bitcoin for Christmas. Because does it make it a tougher sell right now because even people in the community acts acts like it's dead and I understand that just because the highs and lows of you know watching the charts and all that but it's almost harder to talk about now when you have it's like you have more of a barrier to go up against the try to explain someone not in the space because if you tell them about bitcoin and then they google it and they see we all these articles that are about how bitcoin going down the you know how do you do. You have tips to overcome that or just kind of focused more on the other positives positives behind something like rather than the pricing yet. Though I mean obviously as we all know don't want to get shot Josh Danielson good to see you man. Tim Pace AC- the Andrews on there. I was just arguing. We I think we were kind of arguing about Tesla but we really we weren't. We're kind of saying the same thing so good to see you as always ap but look the barriers the expectations of a conversation. How to to to get in how to how the new words it comes down to this gym Jim and this is my honest opinion? Is that you can't force this concept on people now for Bitcoin for Christmas. If we're smart what we're doing is buying five or ten dollars for our friends and family and giving that away. Bitcoin for Christmas is my in my opinion. It stands for me giving you Jim or getting my brothers or somebody. Bitcoin and there is no better way of getting through somebody then saying here. Here's some bitcoin for free. Even if it's just five bucks right yes everybody not not not. Everybody's able to incapable of doing that. I get it. I'm not in your to pass judgment or say say one thing or the next I can at least portray this image though in that as a magic. Everybody in crypto giving a little bit of Bitcoin and how how many people are going to have them start paying attention to what bitcoins doing and if they start seeing maybe it's going up maybe it's going down. Maybe they're starting to to put into perspective. How this thing works? Maybe they're trying to send it to their new bitcoin wallet because they wanted to add some more. Maybe they're now able to explain to somebody. Hey I got bitcoin and it becomes popular. Hey look someone gave it. I've got it actually. I think it's up a little bit. Like five like fifty cents. They only give me two dollars. But you know that's that's the beauty of this whole thing is that it's it's it's always been you know peer to peer even marketing right. There's nobody marketing Bitcoin Actually I take that back If you haven't heard or seen it yet folks you're going to see a very soon. And that is the white furred Verte. Football Club from the Premier League is Bitcoin on their sleeve. You know and I mean. Think about that. If you're in the premier league every time someone from that team scores and they raised their hand and excitement. You're going to see big went on that shoulder. A Little Birdie told me you can get more information about that on Friday show by the way. Oh Nice be on the look out. So yes and of course. I just interviewed them as Jim. The the One of the producers and editors the entire show. WHO's listening to every single word probably more than me You know he's he so kindly let us know that. That's the Friday show so be excited about that folks. 'cause it's GONNA be exciting. Hey Do you think that's a decent understand like that's the way I portray it to answer your question like what do you think Jim. Is that good enough in your opinion. Yeah I think so and I guess it's just the tough thing like putting it in those terms though is if you give like I'm just thinking more from the I guess quote normally perspective affective because I i. "It's rock along Mnuchin man. So how this change the race now for the National League pennant. Does he make a big change here? I think he does in part guys. Because if you look at the way the National League look right now, the Braves are currently in the second wildcard, but as of today, but there are one two three four five. Seven eight within five games of them behind that isn't an incredibly crowded playoff field, and a guy like Tikal you can win you a couple of extra game that can make all the different. Of course if it doesn't work after the brave if they're by game or two, it will be fair for their for their fans to wonder. Well, why don't we just sign this guy, the beginning of instead of waiting till June seven could that have made all the difference? And what a bonus for everyone for myself, I grew up a Phillies fan. My partner here Mnuchin cardinals fan. So keeping them away from those two teams shakier for a lot of people. That's right. Rare. Obviously, we know it's a rare for a player who can change fortunate like this to be available on the free agent market at this point in season and three available for essentially only money, not processed. You're writing your future only money and this year, of course, there is not one, but there were two of them benefiting when you're Astra ball was a couple two and a half years ago reference to covering a guy like Dallas kaikal, and as you watched him, and you wrote this book and the model and how to get there when you watch him day in and day out and you study him what is that Lanta getting well, they're getting certainly a competitor? We know that. But they're getting the type of pitcher who is not really what teams are necessarily looking for at least not the ones, I wanna pay up or down just experience in a pretty serious way. He's a command and control. A guy he pitches with his mind. He any spot. He can't throw back to the ninety anymore if he ever could. But that hasn't stopped him from winning young word doesn't fifteen from coming up at sub three year ages two years ago. You know teams one strikeout guys because home rate rate home run rate of guy, rocketed so much if you strike bloggers out. They can't hit home run. Title is and has long been an outlier. And I also think when you talk about the club had, this is a young staff. The Braves have when you look at it top to bottom their oldest parents starter is twenty eight and he immediately in as the experience World Series champion had to get things done. Sports illustrates Ben rider joining you could follow me on Twitter at Ben writer, I gotta tell you. I mean this kind of came out of left field for me. Because you look at what the Atlanta Braves did in the offseason with the with the exception of Josh Danielson. Donaldson gives me I mean there wasn't really much that they did in for them all of a sudden I know they're just a couple of games out behind Philadelphia. But to pull this. I just I didn't see it. I just really didn't. I'm really surprised. Well enough. I do my top fifty free agent ranked the world theory every year. This is back, I think I covered twenty six I had the best fit doubt Tikal than being the Atlanta brave for all the reasons that they ended up finding him seven months later far as of b-actor can pick on Ben really because I saw that piece today. I looked at it, you know, I'm looking at I just assumed somebody when they're reedited today. October two thousand eighteen and he had him what fifth or seventh what what was on your list? I think seven if I it's edited it headed it we would have edited out of the fit, but I got raw. That I got. Right. But it makes all the in the world and, you know, now the right time, right? Like they have really guys emerged in the past couple of weeks. Breakout phenomenon that outfielder often rallies, hitting a home run every night, they've got young talent in kunia and Ozzy Audi. I mean, this is team that could really make them noise. And you know as much as you can detract from the team ownership for not spending even more than Jack Donaldson. You have to give them credit or selling out even at a bargain rate doubt Tikal now. You know you look at all of the things on a major league baseball. We talked about the state for the LA dodgers just hot. It's like here we go again. Or do we say, what's deja vu, all over again? And you read a lot of the dodger fans are, okay. Let's see what they do. Can they finally win at all? I be curious to write the book on the dodger way. See where those shortcomings are when they go all the way and they just can't close the deal every year. Well, it seems often to be in the bullpen right? I mean, they're great there, many drinks, they don't use their virtually unmatched. Well, not unmatched. Obviously, the Yankees team can match it but they don't all superstars right? They read it around to create debt that will carry them through a lot, a lot of postseason. No matter what happens, how many injuries they sustain. No matter who gets hurt that is the biggest exultation to me for how to straight World Series. But I think consistently, we've seen that the bullpen has been a problem when it comes down to crunch time and I told her and they said on the bullpen a little bit this year. Joe Kelley who hasn't been great after a great ever last year where the Red Sox. But looking at this bullpen after kenley Jansen you wondered if once again unless they make a big move at the deadline. This is gonna be the weak point bit rider joining us easy, author of the bestselling book. Astra ball and senior writer at sl dot com on Twitter at Ben writer. He's with us here on espionage nation radio with rock Manute. You'll in that book, you know, it shows you how the Astra's one at all. And how they may do it again. And you know how this team was built to last. And I thought that was very interesting, as here we are in two thousand nineteen a couple years, and they still are just right there. How long can they sustain this? Get harder and harder as other teams catch up all the actors can't continue to be have a great technological advantage, as far as training player development and stuff like that. But part of the reason that they might be stain -able that may are very unemotional about their decisions. This is an emotional club, they'd look at doubts on. He's proud of so much. He's still a great pitcher. Let's maybe overspend, a little bit over with the market will bear recite him. But they didn't do it. Like they floated offers to him in March. They offered either one year for fifteen million or two years or twenty four million to him his choice eight ten those down. So they let him walk away. Right. And they replaced him with two guys who are causing them about a combined seven and a half million bucks this year. Wade Miley and Brad peacock will Wade Miley. Three point three ninety peacock has three twenty both of which are lower the Tyco's. Last year. Basically getting more production than gave you last year for half of what type just received from the Braves if you months that much of that is with Hinch as the manager, how he's handled all of these guys and kept them grounded Iraq's effect. Here they are back in the Saturday. We're a couple years ago when they went it all, what is his influence as you started this team and wrote about it. Riley, head of the central node of the organization, way, he's a filter between this brilliant front office and the very talented players. He's the conduit through which information flow analysts want the players to do something or try something, it often goes to Asia convinced them to do it, if it's not working for the players flow back through him to go back to the front office. Why this is not working. So he's essentially important figure in organization, even in an era in which a lot of people say, oh, a lot of agencies being taken away for managers, like, yes. Expected to listen to what the front office have to say often to implement it, but they still do have very pivotal role of communication. And also understanding what's happening on the ground and changes might have to be made to get the best of the but I don't know if you can do this, in a minute, but please try explain how cool was sit there with the Nassau engineer the data analytics guy. Big might. Yeah, we'll think is one of brilliant guys that you can meet. He was head of decision scientists for the actors either one really got their analytic program up the ground and instituted a lot of the processes that led to this World Series. You know now. He's not with Houston anymore as we know he's team and even more help than the Astros ever did he went over with Mike Elias, the former assistant GM of the after the Baltimore Oriole where they're in year, one of what promises to the five plus year rebuilding process. That's gonna be fun to see if they can recapture that magic that they hadn't used it while Ben. Hey, thanks for jumping on with pre sheet, it very much, and Astra ball. I'm waiting for our producer Jose out there in Houston, easy. Send me a copy. So I wanna read it. It'd be a good reach. Thanks so much for jumping on with today and have a great weekend. "Follow us on Twitter at Steve dais show. Billy Lawrence says. Please stop preaching. I come to be informed on the issues not to be talked down to well. A couple of things. Billy number one. We're going to do the show the way we want to do it. And about the stuff we want it to be about because it's our show, and we're the ones doing it. And then you guys is the consumers get to decide if you like that or not. And if you don't nothing personal, and then we won't be around and we're perfectly okay with that. That's you know, a free market. That's how competition works. So we're gonna keep doing what we're doing. But doesn't mean we can't do it better. So you first complaint is not gonna really register here. Your other lament though might and, you know, this is something I I. I've I've had to work on throughout the course of my career is we certainly don't want to come across like we are talking down to you. Well, let me rephrase that sometimes we do. Sometimes we all need the wakeup call. But on a on a regular basis we try like when we talk about the yesterday. I went on my way to try to make that as acceptable as I possibly could. So you know, guys, this is where you guys come in. If you guys think, hey, man, this is, you know, over people's heads, or it's a little too patronizing by all means man for the flack, and we'll deal with it at that time because I don't want to you know, we're going to talk about the subject matter. We wanna talk about, but we do have a job to make it as acceptable to people as we possibly get. Yeah. So basically if Steve comes across as condescending or patronizing, it's our fault. It's. We say about the same thing. Expert level. How did you just troll me master flay? And in a strange way rather than offended. I feel a sense of almost respect fatherly pride. Yes. Like, I like like, you know, you came here. And you're this quiet, polite home schooled kid, and do you just freaking lit me up? And I kinda just want to look at you and say, I think your man now. I'm really proud. Yeah. Do you think I'm very proud of that dude lit me up and I walked right into it. Well, played you created a monster. It's a beautiful thing too. Let's let's get to this joss. Josh Danielson says what's what's an intimate? Employable skill worth learning and developing for a future in conservative media. Pause because I was going to give answers really condescending and patronizing. Because I mean, I was going to suggest. Yeah. Willingness to be a stenographer for Republicans and power to say, whatever they want you to say, even when it's dishonest, and you know, it's dishonest and you're in a lot of your audience will also it's dishonest..

And of course, President Trump being President Trump. But the key deal is here we are. And we're upon the cavenaugh hearings. The key. We are finally there after the release of four hundred fifteen thousand pages of documents another fifty thousand maybe forty five thousand somewhere in between pages were released last night. As the Bush library people in the archives keeps moving on through more documents than all of the previous nominees combined. These four days I will be featuring daily conversation with Senator Ben Sasse about what's going on up there sort of a color commentary. Dr Arnn is going to join me today from Hillsdale College in the last hour to set up the stakes because this is a week of extraordinary consequence for America. Judge cabinet does is we expect which is shined. Keeps his composure and cool. We will have a nice court Justice, and for the first time in my life, a reliable originalist majority on the court that doesn't mean anything changes. It just means that the people are going to govern. And the people are going to decide and their representatives are going to have to legislate and the constitutional protection guaranteed by the first second third fourth fifth, sixth seventh eighth ninth tenth fourteenth amendment are all going to be preserved and protected and defended with predictability Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin was on this week. Yesterday. Sunday, actually, not yesterday yesterday was Labor Day this week with Martha Raddatz, and here's what Senator Johnson's he's absolutely right cut. Number eleven probably depends on the case. But again, Brad Kavanagh an extraordinary judge you a long record twelve years on on the DC circuit court bench over three hundred decisions. I mean, the Democrats have more enough. Information to understand that this is a highly qualified jurist that should be the next spring court Justice in an earlier time thirty years ago, he would've passed unanimously. It's unfortunate that Ted Kennedy began this process, a very divisive confirmation battle for extreme court. He's absolutely right began with Robert Bork, Senator Kennedy deciding to make the supreme court a political football. And so it has become so you have to end up nominating. Interestingly enough, very ideologically, consistent people who are very transparent in what they believe the Republicans tried to go the other way, and nominate Specter's people about whom there was no profile, folks. Like. Justice shooter, and they got burned and then they tried to find nominally conservative in their life. People like Justice Kennedy at communicant Catholic and not particularly controversial and said, we'll put him up there. And you end up he decides to invent new rights and changes the whole court. The left is always predictable. And if they've got the Republicans position has always been presidents get this spring court judges, I'm laughs, there's a general Republican position. There are some exceptions. But mine and most Republicans would senators would say if you're qualified if you're smart near ethical and you're not corrupt. We're gonna put you on the court. Why Elena kagan's on was nominated by President Obama and Justice nominated by President Obama, they were not corrupt so in they go, but that's not what Ted Kennedy believe he wanted idiological court to govern to the laughed any stat ended up destroying that process. And therefore, we get people like Brian Fallon, former spokesperson fairly Clinton on CNN when Kate Baldwin Jeff saying crazy stuff listen to this cut number two. Well, this process that will take place as we Kate is a sham before it even gets started. And really you have to go back to how Cavanaugh was selected in the first place. This is really the first time that you've seen a supreme court nominee put forward after a president named explicit litmus test that he would apply in terms of who's gonna pick. Donald Trump was very clear he'd only pick people that would overturn Roe. He wanted to judge that would gut the Affordable Care Act, and he used to conservative outside special interest groups to help him bet these candidates, and then when they settled on break, Kevin I turned out that he had the longest paper trail of any now. Nominee in supreme court history. Mitch McConnell even warned against Trump picking him for that reason Trump ignored that advice and picked him anyway. And when it turned out that the archive said, we weren't going to be able to produce all his materials until late October Senate Republicans in the Trump White House said well, hold the hearing on September fourth anyway. And as a result, there's three and a half million pages of documents that are being concealed senators have not seen prior to this hearing getting underway at this point. You have to sort of ask, you know, what's the point of even Democrats showing up? If I were that might consider walking out of the hearing Amaro, you cannot act like this is business as usual as Amy clover chart said in that clip that you just played this is not normal. I think Democrats need to respond in kind they otherwise they risk lending legitimacy to a process that is fundamentally illegitimate. You see when people like Brian Fallon go so far over the top and don't just honestly lay out their position. Which is he is a originalist, and we don't want originals were afraid of how he'll decide important cases would have gone the other way if he put on. A left-wing judge, and therefore they should just all vote against him. But we're sorry. Harry Reid broke the rules. Different cases like that. And the the left has not been able to agree on which one of them matters because none of their all good. He's a fine. Judge Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the judiciary committee was on Fox News, but Marc McCallum, and he said this about the paper trail cut number seven. Well, he six percent is of what the ark of his said, his possibly going to be a total number that would be available, but because of computer software, and the elimination of duplications and for other reasons, that's there's a much smaller number, for instance. I originally said back in July, there might be a million pages. Available getting rid of duplicates. And for other things that you don't need. We have a down now to about four hundred eighty eight thousand pages. But remember, this is more documents than the last five supreme court nominees. Have had. Total. If you add them all together, this is more document. So it's just false. Because he hasn't much deeper pay per child. Of course, he does he worked in the White House for a long time.
