I really do think that he thought about that. And now it's even more wide open. On the flip side, you have McDaniels goes to Vegas. And one of the first things he does is trade away picks for a franchise receiver, which is something Bill Belichick never would have done. It's almost like watching my son leave the house and then order like $250 of stuff from 7 11 and just like eating Doritos and soda. I was like, yeah, dad, look at me. I do thought it was funny that that was the guy that traded it for devonta Adams. When I realized that Adams was now in the Daniels guy and my first thought was like, Josh dinos has never had a receipt of this good ever. And then I remember that Randy Moss existed. Right. But it's so long, it's been so long since we've seen the Daniels with a star receiver. And I'm really interested to see what that looks like. It's very easy to figure out how to run for under Renfro makes sense for Josh Daniels. We see him work with players like that before. Very easy to figure out how Darren Waller works for Josh mcdaniel. We see him more for the player like that before and Aaron Hernandez. Devonte Adams is now a we call them a force multiplier, right? It's not just that out of this so good. It's that he's going to make it easier for McDaniels to use Renfro in the welcome role. It's going to make him easier for him to use Waller and they aren't Hernandez role, but he is a rising tide that lets all vote in this raider's offense right now. Doesn't make Daniels is everything he's billed as as an offensive designer. And I like McGill as a path to game designer. He's got a lot of resume, big creative exchange of what he does..

"They always had Succession plans for everything. Like you could basically when I did do my and I'm in the middle of it doing right now at PSG where I look at I look back on the previous season and I'll look forward. And I'll put a depth chart together. And by contracts and player grades and things like that and you look at it and you can say, you can almost predict. All right, well, they haven't expiring contract here. They don't want to be left short, so they're probably going to pick a guy in the middle rounds here, or they're going to sign a veteran free agent. And Bill just stopped doing that. You know, they had no succession plan in place for Brady. I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo was there, but then they traded him, you figured, all right, they'll get going again. Did they know? You know, Jerry Stidham was not a succession plan. Rob Gronkowski completely covered bear tight end when he retired, which he had already threatened that he was going to retire. You can go on and on and now they're in a position where at cornerback. JC Jackson, they're screwed if he's not back next year. Who's the number one or even number two cornerback on this team if they have to tag and trade JC Jackson? And then you look at the coaches, you know, yeah, Charlie Weiss was here. They had Josh McDaniels, like, you know, Josh Daniels wrote up, took out a full page ad in The Boston Globe today, and he even mentioned it in there about how he went from the defensive side of the ball to being the quarterbacks coach for like two years under Charlie Weiss. And they had that going and, you know, sometimes you're just gonna get raid and that's gonna happen. But it just doesn't seem like they're prepared for any of this stuff. And so, you know, your point about, did he think Josh was gonna go? I bet you I bet you he thought that Josh was gonna stay. Like, what's the point now? I'm, you know, it'd be nice if he just would have said, hey, Josh. Let's have a conversation. I'm only gonna do this for three years. I'd really like to turn this over to you. So why don't you stay put. But I can tell you there was never any talk like that. And I only bring that up because they took a quarterback in the first round. And they had to make a change at the position as we know after the 7 and 9 season. Everyone was calling for it, but it makes me wonder when you're trying to develop a young quarterback to your point about filling out your staff. Now you've got to worry about personnel making decisions not one year down the road, but two or three years down the road, you put it in our show rundown, like Bill is basically challenging himself to do everything. And look, sorry, Bill, you did this to Brady. Years ago, but with your age, I don't know what your contract situation is, Bill, but I'm sure it's pretty good, but at your age, at this point in time, that's a lot to ask on a Bill Belichick. And I think we discussed this a few weeks ago like rely on some people. Now, not just your Friends, because we folks get on Bill for just recruiting his friends to come coach him, but at least someone from outside of the building, I know there's been chatter about Adam Gase. "So is Joe burrow the next Tom Brady? No, that's disrespectful to Tom and to Joe. But can he, as a guy, I love quarterbacks. I love having a favorite quarterback that is fun for me. Joe burrows the next Tom Brady for me. The next guy who I am excited to watch. And just enjoy I mean, he's a new favorite for me. The guy I'm in a really root for in the NFL. And I probably shouldn't have even said that Tom Brady was the next combat. It's just not going to happen. But I will say. And I certainly, I don't think I'll win 7 super bowls. But you may win one. I'm nervous about that one. But the payer level between jobber on Tom Brady, let's be clear here. It's a guy who was overlooked, who isn't fast this isn't strongest, isn't the biggest. But every little aspect of his game that he can master he has, decision making, understanding pre snap where to go with the football mechanics, footwork, leadership, that's why Joe burrow reminds me of Tom Brady. And it really does feel like a moment where the torch is being passed from Tom Brady to Joe burrow and how fitting would it be? For Joe burrow to now win a Super Bowl right as Tom Brady does retire. Was anybody else emotional man? Did anybody else say I didn't excuse my language? I try not to touch on this one. On the other show, it's all it all goes, but I didn't cry or anything. But I was like, man, I'm gonna miss the guy. I really, really, really loved watching Tom Brady and he certainly could have kept play. I don't know. Let's talk about Las Vegas. Let me drink some water real quick. The Raiders of hired Josh McDaniels to be their new head coach. And let me remind you of some history when it comes to Josh Daniels. He was once the Denver Broncos head coach in 2009 and 2010. And 12 games into his second year, he got fired by the Broncos. And he's been pretty open recently saying that he wasn't ready for that moment in 2009 and 2010. And I mean, you could also argue that Josh McDaniels never had a quarterback. But let you know, that's part of Josh McDaniels history is that he failed once as a head coach. Here's the other part of his history that I think people forget. For 13 total years, Josh mccandless has been the offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots. For three years, then I got hired by Denver. Got fired by Denver went somewhere else, then the last ten years, the last ten seasons in the NFL. Josh McDaniels has been the Patriots offensive coordinator. Oh and or like there's also a tremendous amount of other things that are nuanced around not having privacy but having forever records of of someone's decision some something like this and the security of it being able to be manipulated in the process so like i'm weary and may in many security researchers very weary of doing such large-scale votes on on blockchain and i'm curious to see how ballot is doing this and because i hope because eventually it will be the right way to do it but i'm not necessarily sure that the privacy and security tech is there to to do that on such broadscale and end secondly when you say voting on the blockchain which one we're currently in the cambrian explosion of blockchain's And not all of them have the security skill ability censorship resistance. There's they're not equally secured private in any way shape or form. So i'm curious like what can you can you. Maybe drill down a little bit as to like which one you're using and why that's being chosen and how that kind of works so as of right now we have not yet done. The backend development integration the tool that was using the twenty twenty election utah. County is not the same as valid. "What did we learn from week. One of the preseason what we learned that mack jones over cam newton might be the idea for bill belichick now. Bill might have his brady two point now now now now now. I'm not saying that jones is next. Tom brady no. I'm not saying he's going to be the goat. I'm not saying he's gonna win five super bowl championships. But hear me out mack. Jones had a good showing in his preseason debut. He got the ball out of his hands quickly. He was accurate and seemingly did everything that was asked for him to have an efficient day at the quarterback position. Now for me. This is the operative word for the new england patriots efficiency all rookie. Quarterback's should strive for an efficient season. Now we know that cam newton's probably gonna be the starter week one september twelfth but is it too early to say you know what maybe cam on backsides of his career. And maybe it's kind of time to shift into the mac jones era. I'm just saying. I mean there's a reason. They took him in the first round. There's a reason that bill belichick wanted this guy and what they might have got the steal of the draft. I don't know we'll see but you know with the good also was with the bat. He had the ball too long. he was inaccurate. And sometimes people say oh you know what he was very inconsistent but with the cam newton limited style of new england. Mack jones have number called a little earlier than we expected. Perhaps the disparity team play calling. Was a friendly nudge. To josh daniels to bill. Belichick say hey. We drafted this guy number one. We wasted not wasted. We used a first rounder on this guy. Maybe we wanna see what he does now. What is it because he was out there every game. Learning not enough rookies. Get that chance. Like peyton did but he was able to learn digest and visualize visualize the field the way he wants to and he was able to take that next. Step now if you give mack jones the ability to learn under probably the greatest coach of our generation. Bill belichick he might be able to overcome cam. Newton which i mean. He's an mvp in his own right and yet he. He was worthy of that mvp. Both his career at quarterback is not sustainable. I think mack jones has a more sustainable career ahead of him. They can but if he is able to learn that offense and he's able to utilize the weapons around him then he may need to take a few more punches out there and he may need to learn on the job because you know what sometimes you just gotta learn on the job and that's with anything in life if you go to a new job. It's either sink or swim. We've all been there. We've all gone to a new job where you know. When we're changing atmospheres. It's all surreal. And there's no really formal training. You just gotta learn on the job. And that's what mac tunes and all these rookies are probably gonna learn. They're going to have to learn on the job. they're gonna take their lumps. You're gonna get hit but that's how you build character. That's how you learn how fast the game is how smart these other players are and how tough it is in the nfl. But if you get that chance mack. Jones i surely. I surely believe that he might have a more sustainable career than cam. Newton and built founded two point. Oh his brady to on to say Just sing now. What what else we learned from this past weekend. I think just field is ready. I just believe it. I mean you got to think about this. Look at the starting quarterback depth in chicago. Starting quarterback is andy dalton justin fields and nick. Foles know if you look at those three. I'm thinking well. I don't really have faith in andy dalton and if nick forwards on the third string depth chart h cargo and you have a rookie who drafted in the first round ahead of him. Then i don't see why not. Just take the chance chicago. Just take the chance. He had a superb day. Justin fields going fourteenth twenty. Though he also didn't start off well but you know what. It's not how you start. It's how you finish and tell you improve. Fourteen to twenty through the air with a passing touchdown to put on his ledger with rushing touchdown. So the only issue is that. I think matt nagy in chicago huddle lot of faith and i wouldn't be surprised. Give andy dalton. I mean it's eighty dalton. we're talking about. I know he signed a one year deal and he's probably going. He probably gonna start week. One september twelve but honestly. If i'm a bears fan you gotta put justin field in. I'm rooting for fields. Because he gives you an different element that andy. Dalton can't provide you the kind of like the trade lance and jimmy garoppolo debate yet. You have this one guy. Who's a good quarterback. I'm not saying any dalton's horrible. He's been there. He's lettuce team to the playoffs. He's done well in certain situations but why not let a guy who's physically probably stronger than you who's capable of doing different things and giving other teams different looks and he probably just seems to me like a better position fit for the game for chicago and honestly if chicago really wants to look at the macro picture. Yeah you got to the playoffs last year. Which mitchell trubisky y- backed in you're backed in. Don't get twisted. It's not like they had momentum. That i knew you had we should be. I don't give a damn fast and talented your individually. That's why so you can. We used to have relay runoffs and the relay. Runoff was the four fastest right plan. A is team top for the second. Fifty eight is team. Now we get out there and while we're going through cds and regionals states if you can't get the relaxed ages doug guess what you are no longer own t. Hey you dropped down. We only practice for two days. We don't know who can exchange and not. we just going off what. They ran in january as terms of their fastest time. That's not how you optimize a relay so we have a systemic issue with our sprint. Relay team okay or third. Because it's been like this twenty year dog. You turned around and you handed ball to me to run back for my last take. I forgot about my issue. Take my does the usa. Men's relay team or relay teams in general. Have a systemic issue. Oh about the blow your mind with this. What because after two thousand sixteen usa track and field. They made a rule for who could coach the athletes because of conflicts of interest. You cannot be a college coach. The relay coach cannot be a college coach. So you can't be a current college head coach and because of conflict of interest. The relay coach can also not coach any current athletes. That are qualifying would be like the nba. Saying no college coach can coach nor can any nba coach coach so popovich. You can't coach. Because there's a spurs player on the roster we don't want you to have favoritism in to start the spurs player over potentially best player so usa track and field has eliminated college coaches from coaching and has also eliminated any coach that coaches current athletes from being relayed coach. So now you have coaches that are in positions. Set up to fail because they're not coaching any of the athletes. That are actually out there competing so this systemic issue falls track and field. We don't necessarily cared about it as america because you don't care about track but if we ever see this in basketball we blind they doing over there anyway. So i'm hot coming back. You have confidence and cam. Newton murray sagging go round. Next sean still speak of the does cam. Newton is running it back for a second season in new england and the sounds like he is more comfortable with the system. patriots coordinator. Josh mcdaniels said quote.
