"They called bioavailability. Which means are just much more highly absorbable. Okay tell me like three things that we don't like to people very much but it's the only word i can think of for the sense three things that we all should have in our kitchen. No matter what's going on in our bodies wetter three things that you're like. You will use this all the time and eat this all the time for your best health one essential oils as like something like lavender in your personal medicine cabinet. I mean if you get a burn or cut a scrape. And i burned myself. I'm a. i'm a shy. I do a lot of stuff to. It's how you're chelsea's like. I cannot believe you burn yourself every single day so but anyways we use a lot of lavender in our household for tummy stuff. I think ginger is very good. If somebody's having anything after a meal ginger and peppermint especially you can do like a gas and bloating t feel like one of those teas teas are very good in that way and the other thing is i think i mean i think in terms of one supplement. People should be on. I do think my number one. It'd be college number two. It'd be a probiotic. Those supplements people can benefit so much from you know so. There's my three. But i think three things in terms of daily. What i'm doing. I do a lot of these. I do a lot of herbals. And i do a lot of vegetables and a lot of berries. That's makes the biggest part of my diet along with wild organic meat. One of the things that i know. You didn't ask me this but this is somebody just thing so amazing when we're talking about god and health nutrition throughout history. There were three ways that ancient physicians recommended. You eat food and they said we know what you should eat based on the shape of the food the color of the flu food and the flavor of the food. Because what's amazing is so. There's a medical study that came out nine years ago and it said in the medical community said we've had a medical breakthrough they said we've found when you consume tomb rick and you add black pepper to it. The absorb ability goes up by one hundred and fifty four percents. It was a big medical study so so so now you're looking at different formulas for tomb. Rick you'll notice a lot of times. They put in this compound pipering which is which is black pepper in their. Here's a crazy thing though that recipe over three thousand years old. There's a recipe called tumor. Golden melt yeah. Were you take tomb. Rick and like coconut milk or ghee and combine it with black pepper and ginger because warming spices. Opened up your capillaries. So you get more inside your blood and then increase its circulation. That's how that works. But here's my point in this. Is that these ancient physicians new this even better than our scientists today. How is that possible. Well it's because of this. They recognized big picture patterns so thinking about this the shape of a food if you want to know what the eat. What's good for your brain in a walnut. a walnut. Looks exactly like ahead you crack. It open has two like your left and right hemisphere brain. It's loaded with choline vitamin e. Omega three fatty acids the most amazing brain food on the planet or coconut coconut. Looks like ahead. you crack it open. It's got this meat. Inside which is full of medium chain fatty acids which is the number one sort of fat. Your brain can use for fuel great on something like akito diet or just for general brain. How and it has this liquid inside that actually it looks like a head that actually supports your cerebral spinal fluid which surrounds your brain. Think about beats the action you cut them. Celery is high in vitamin k in calcium. It's the most alkaline of all the vegetables. So it keeps your bones from alkaline. Minerals like calcium and magnesium avocados look like a uterus there actually loaded with magnesium potassium and certain types of fats which ballot hormones olives. Look like ovaries. They're good for reproductive. Health thing about figs they actually look a figs for reproductive health. And so they look like they've little sperm inside. Yeah and so. Glands are you going to get into this book to ancient remedies all this stuff. But i think that's pretty cool. That god essentially was like listen. It's not that complex. I'm gonna show you. I'm gonna make the food look like organs. I'm going to give them specific colors. I'm gonna give them specific flavors so you know exactly how to eat and how to use food as your own personal former medicine that unique to know that i am so blown away right now. Okay doctor is there anything we didn't talk about. The you want to make sure we say. I mean i could talk for hours talking to zero so i think we covered some great so bundy. I've really enjoyed the interview. One of the things. I just enjoyed so much. You just have such great energy in your really talked about that so you know. But i think god's wired gift you just ask questions and make interviews funds so now. I think you've covered a lot of the a lot of the stuff we did. I am matters so much to me. For as little as i just because of my own history. I don't talk to about my body. And i wanna make sure we are very body neutral here probably as much as anything but man how we treat our bodies and how we eat is so healing if we want it to be and so your work matters attention as. I'm really really thankful that you made time to come on the show. Even while you're down at the beach with your people okay. The last question. We always ask because the show is called. That sounds fun. Tell me what sounds funding you a while. I mean my wife. And i love the water. So we love waterskiing paddleboarding all things in the water and by the way my daughter loves the water and so you know what sounds fun getting our family on a boat in the water swimming around my daughter right now ten months old if she has water next door she just splash and do it for you know day and nice. I'll say to like i love doing you know date with my wife. We love good food and so you know any time we travel. We're like okay. We travel based on where some of the best restaurants are so we travel and we say we make a lot of family dinners together and we'll make up italian food and have some good wine and that sort of thing so that's another thing. Doing that with close close friends is another thing. That sounds sounds like a lot of fun you to have numerous please. I would love it so much. I would absolutely love it. When y'all get back.

"How do people find a doctor that kind of works within you know someone said one of our friends asked brittany said okay i. I love what dr acts teaches. And what ancient remedies says. How do i find a doctor in my area to help me live like this. How do you recommend finding doctors like that. One thing to do i i just want to encourage everybody to do. Continue to educate yourself the most powerful thing you can do. Learn yourself some of these things. And i'm going to say the doctor thinking a minute but i'd encourage everybody check out my book ancient remedies and going take the quiz. You're gonna learn so much about yourself exactly what you should do. There's meal plans. There's over eighty healthy recipes. There's prescriptions in there for instance if you have hypothyroidism i go through. The exact is supplements the foods with seventy five different conditions. It's also acts as a reference guide. So one get that read up. Learn number two word of mouth talking to friends and say. Hey you know if you've heard somebody has a good functional medicine doctor. Here's the good news. We live in a world today where there are virtual practices virtual clinics and and i typically those out there but like if it were me a few people i refer to. I'll throw out their names. One is my own brother. My brother is actually a functional medicine. Doctor in tampa florida is names. Jordan acts and he runs its actual listrik medicine. So people could simply go and google search acts holistic medicine schedule virtual consultation with him or in-person p a lot of people fly from all over the country and world to go see him. So that's an option. There's another doc dr. christopher motley. Who's in nashville tennessee. So dr christopher motley does more consolidation but also does some some really amazing stuff with nutrition and herbals so those are the people i probably refer to the most and you can see virtually a virtual practice. But that's why. I've look for word of mouth but there isn't unfortunate. There's not like a good database to look for someone in your area. But i'm just like i actually think virtual medicine telemedicine with you can get better results because you can see some of the best doctors around the world like my buddy brother and chris motley and others just doing zoom or skype call with them face to face. That's brilliant and functional. Medicine is kind of the word. We're looking for this is new to us. That's kind of the want to say yes. It's tender tends to be referred to either natural medicine functional medicine or integrative medicine and the three words before medicine that are thrown around but typically functional medicine means is how your body functions holistically. We're not just going to say. I'm gonna treat your thyroid because oftentimes example if somebody's thyroid issue. Here's the difference if somebody's thyroid issue and they go into their conventional medical doctor. They'll say here synthroid nets it. You're going to be on the rest of your life. Synthroid deplete your body. Vitamin b twelve of iron full late of all these nutrients. So now it's gonna lead another problem because it depletes all these nutrients what a more holistic doctor is gonna do or let me go all the way over a functional medicine doctors going to say i'm going to determine what is the root cause of this issue. Most thyroid issues are actually. Don't start with a thyroid. They start with your digestive system in your adrenal glands so we need to really look at healing those two issues and so you got seal and seal the gut. You gotta get rid of gluten casing drink some bone broth gets collagen ginger liquorice and these herbs. Good for the gut. We also need to support the adrenal. Glands we've got to get those cortisol levels down so this absolutely so functional. Med doc is going to say hey. I'm not prescribing a drug. In most cases. I'm going to prescribe supplements and herbals and a whole diet. Plan some lifestyle tips to help. You actually calls yeah. I think the hope in this for people whether they're on medicine now or or noticing something in their health is the hope in this is it feels like god's given us so many answers to be are healthiest selves in the world he created is that that brings that that is how it feels to me. Here's what i believe. God be healthy thriving and whole and i think when you look at our medical system today. It's actually driven fear based system. And i can tell you because my mom grew up in i grew up. Grew up in it and everything was all about fear. If you don't do this this will happen to you. I i mean if you think about one of the biggest messages of the bible is what is the exact opposite of love. This god is love. God is love. it's fear of you're living in an industry that is completely revolved around driving fear. It tends to not not lead to life. And so i just think it's something for for people to think about okay. I saved one last question. I think is so fine. So i may have some more but i think this one's really fun actually said isn't it fascinating. How ezekiel bread is the bread that our bodies like best. We talk about ezekiel bread. I think is fascinating. Yeah so ezekiel breads that so. So the big thing about ezekiel brother using sprouted grains and sprouted legumes. And so one of the things. We don't do today. That our ancestors did that's referenced. The bible and actually throughout time everywhere but eating grains even cooked as they are. You're not absorbing digesting much when you sprout something you soak it and then you can laid out in the sun and now there's other ways of drying they don't you know ezekiel bread coming through history. What that does is when you soak it. Lay it out and actually sprouts. Sprouting is is. It's it's not actually growing sprout nuts. We'll do that but that's beside the point so anyways all that being said it breaks down. This thing comes fightig. Acid vinik asset is where all the nutrients like iron and b. Vitamins are all bound in this thing in. So imagine they're all clumped together. And then you eat..

"Out all the time that are proven wrong because pharmaceutical companies funding all of this. What is their main goal and main objective. It is to make money. It's not to heal the planet. It's not to heal. the world is not. I'm just telling you that's driven by a board of directors. It's their main objective. So i look at my daughter are when he was ten months old and for her. I'm making decisions based off of like. Hey my my love for her with that. Also having a mind is really really conscious of doing what i know. I've seen work based off standing back and looking at the big picture you know not to go on a little rain but just a quick thirty second radio. We live in a world today. That's very greek in nature where we break things microscopically. And what does this blood work saying. What is this do. And hey this. One study came out versus the hebrew perspective. Which is jesus. Perspective was standing back looking at the big picture and saying okay like i'll give you an example like drugs today medications nothing. There's not a time and a place ever but generally speaking it's a synthetic chemical maiden alab are synthetic chemicals. Actually heal your organs. Heal your body heal. You're actually going to heal you. Can they be used as a band-aid for something. Yes but you're always getting worse. That's the thing when you're taking a drug what those actually do their chemicals that change your symptoms and in certain cases they can save your life in emergency situations. But what's going to be better for you long term. If you have a digestive issue is it going to be eating healthy food and taking certain herbs like licorice and marshmallows ginger and camomile tea like these things that are so good or is it going to be taking synthetic chemical. But we don't think like that they will say well. This doctor said this or this. That told the doctor said this. And i'm just going to believe that and take it not even thinking about so. That might not be all that being said. I think it makes all these things more real and also thinking about. How do i protect my daughter because one of the things we're seeing in this country today. The censorship is kind of crazy to where. It's even hard to find truth today. Because it's been banned in removed off of the internet. And so i just know for myself more than ever before. It's my job to teach my daughter troops truth in health but even more than that truth about about who got is about how to lead a life of honoring god and so i think for me more than anything. I'm just very conscious now of raising up my daughter and the way she should go. Because you don't want the world just even look at how much like first part of generation acts like how much things have changed in the last twenty. Anyway we can talk about it. And i'm just very conscious a training on my daughter right. I mean scripture promises trainer up in the way she go and she won't depart from it right.

"It's the worst thing that could ever do for their health. Actually for for somebody with inflammatory bowel disease or digestive issues vegetable juicing. It's terrible for them and eating raw vegetables investable juice but it's the liver issue. It's one of the best things they could do. So all that being said. I think it's important to remember your unique individual and in my book into rumors i go into. You can take the quiz. And then there's a diet or a specific not as much a diet but here the best foods for you to eat so if somebody has an issue like like pc os let let me. Just give you an example. You really need to support the pancreas so with that foods that are orange in color or very nourishing and foods that helped balance insulin. So cinnamon amazing for anyone with pcs pumpkin. Butternut squash small amounts of sweet potato. Wild salmon grass-fed beef. These things are really really good for those in the book. I really go through here. The perfect food for you to try and avenir a near diet for healing everything from autoimmune disease to cancer. You know to pretty much anything else. I really get into. But but that's a thing important thing for people to realize is that you're not. You're not wired exactly like everyone else right. That is very helpful to hear. Abby has a great question along these lines why is nutritional health. The first thing. I quit when my mental health declines. That is like such a true thing. I think it could be a couple of things one. I think when. You're having a hard time mentally. I think that food acts is actually more of a draw the closest thing to a drug that we experience on a regular basis. And so i i do think that sugar studies to me as addictive or more addictive than cocaine. I mean there are studies on that. So there's no doubt that food it's something that we use comfort. It's something that people tend to be addicted to. So that's that's likely why. Yeah that's usually my story. Our friends listening. No i make jokes a lot about orioles. Yeah when orioles at my house. My counselor needs to be called immediately. 'cause there's something going down. Okay let's talk about college. Can we talk about collagen peptides for a minute. I got really into them and it was very bloating for me like i was taking them day. I was doing like a daily smoothie in the morning. Like you suggest. And i mean i was getting bloated like crazy in. I've started using other your protein. Powders that are bone broth instead. So is that which is better someone. One of our friends ask chelsea said nope. Sorry maggie gas de recommend collagen peptides or bone brought. But you offer both with ancient nutrition. Right yeah i actually used bone broth protein more than any other supplement. Just the results. I've seen in my joints my gut my body. So many people's fantastic. I do think doing collagen protein multiple types of college in his great and i think ninety nine percent of people do well with it. But there's a few people that it's typically those people that have and i'm not saying you have this have something called cbo. It's called small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Those people are as major major sensitivities on occasion those people can have a sensitivity to different types of collagen but sometimes Tolerate bone broth. They're more tolerant to bone broth so so anyways i don't think one is better than the other. I'll say this if somebody wants to support their immune system and their joints in their gut. I do think bone broth is probably best if somebody wants more support for beauty skin hair nails collagen peptides or multi. Collagen protein might be better but hardly they both overlap so much. So i would take whichever one you feel like you tolerate. The best notice was difference with. I and i do one scoop like my super food. Smoothie is one cup of each of those. And i throw in some other things like some go g berry powder grains and other things but i actually personally do a scoop of each every day. I mean i need you know dr x. my rings weren't fitting. I mean it got so weird. So but i love your bone broth your bone broth in my cabinet and i use that stuff like crazy. So this is a great question to from taylor. How do we take good care of the bodies. God's given us without letting that become our security are idle and like that. I have that question to like. How do we not make this the thing we think about the most like what am i eating. Am i eating. The right. Things are i. Don't want to become a science experiment on myself. So how do we balance that. Most of the time of the people that ask that question. it's actually not an issue for them. i'm just saying you can tell if somebody's doing that it's somebody who's trying to work out three hours a day carrying their meals around with saying that that's even wrong over time if you're called to do it but i think that's usually not a not an issue for most people i would say it's less about. I think it's all about mindset with anything. And so. I think when you look at jesus where he was talking to the pharisees about most of the time it wasn't even what the way that they were living. Some of what they were doing was wrong more so it was their heart him. He was constantly saying. Examine your heart and your motives and and so. I think it's a very similar thing with us. I would just say just. Make sure your heart's in the right place and so for me. I can tell you. I i really feel like i eat to glorify gotta eat because listen. God cares about food. I mean he laid out food laws in the bible not to say were halted that exact standard today. But let's healthy for you. The food that that god said don't eat. These didn't all the sudden become healthy. After abram pork is not healthy shellfish is not healthy. These things are the most toxic of all the animal products. Medical science shows that today all that being said when you actually. I think i read a book that really talked about how often food in some way farming and food and meals were referenced. In the bible jesus most of his parables were about farming and a lot more about food so anyways. It's something that's talked about a lot. So i think i think that being conscious of what you're putting in your body is very important but if you're doing it for vanity sake. Yeah it's probably probably not gonna if you're obsessive. Here's the other thing. Some people can get too strict thing about. I don't have a single ounce of sugar or this or this. My wife and i used to be a little bit more strict and then she kind of helped me loosen up a little bit so if we go to italy like ali pizza you'll have like in and so that thing. It's like you know be flexible. Be flexible with that. Don't don't be don't be so rigid. But but i think this is actually the case with some but it's just not not the majority of people but anyways i think examining your heart and that's that would be my advice. Un chelsea just had a daughter a year ago. Maybe ten months you turn ten months old today. Wow how has that changed your thinking on. All of this having a daughter does it. Has it changed how you think about health and medicine and bodies and if anything is just made everything you more maybe more resolute. And all these things and in terms of fighting for people for their health because it's really unfortunate so many people. I don't think they realize what most people tend to do. They tend to listen to popular opinion and they literally believe and they go through their life thinking. If it is popular opinion it is true christians or as bad as really anybody in so anyways that being said i just think that's that happens in so you know. I think i'm the reason i bring that up. Is i think i'm really conscious with our win. Like wh where like like sticking to what i know the bible teaches about how what i know has been used for thousands of years improving about how i mean..

"Let's dive into some of our questions from our listening friends. And see and i am just get rolling on some of that lee asks. What is one thing you would never put in your body awhile. I mean for me like a like fried dough doughnuts. Now listen i. Is it me like find daughters bakery. So i eat donuts. Okay get done. That's fantastic anybody's ever been to nashville. Atlanta got them. They're the best ever but like a fried like a glazed doughnut. I just you know. Fried dough probably just not going to happen or french fry. It's probably nowhere a french fry. We make those at home though like again for me. Like i still eat chicken. Parmesan i e you know chocolate mousse and all this stuff. But i just use different ingredients. Anybody who follows you on. Instagram can see all that the different recipes. You have for making things that we love in a different way. Which is awesome okay. What are your thoughts on cbd. Linda wants to the. I think the oil is great. So here's the thing again. This is another one of these things. I think people need to understand what. Cbd is cd. Cd comes from the flower of a hemp plant and hemp plant is different than it's different than a cannabis plant and then it has less than point zero three percent. Thc so it's almost non-existent in those plant so cd is most gr- pride closest comparison would be Like hops or camomile roman cameos very calming. So it's that sort of what's interesting is seeming was first referenced. The first reference we have to it was in a chinese medicine textbook. That's over two thousand years old and it was. It was reference in terms of well. Hemp was a high cd hump. Plant all that being said. It's typically used to improve sleep in reducing zeidan stress. Those are the two reasons that used for but i think seemingly is a great supplement. A lot of people can benefit from. I when i take it at night before i fall asleep. When it's time to wake up it is hard wake up. Good for sleep is no joke. We talk about us moving from wherever we are to the next healthy spot like. I don't think you're asking all of us to go to a certain size of a swimsuit or not not eat something that we love necessarily if we want to treat every now and again but what is what is it look like for us to go from where we are right now to the next healthy spot so i think a few things one of the things that i incurred patients to do in the past is i would tell them. If you're going to start somewhere just changed breakfast. Here's the thing about this even if you just change breakfast that's one third of your eye. That's a that's a really good chain. i also. I found with some people. You get that first meal you eat healthy that first meal and you kind of wanna eat the second meal or dinner out like i think just getting off to the right start of the day so i have a lot of people do college collagen smoothie for breakfast so one scoop of a multi collagen protein or something like that a cup of fruit like berries and then one cup of coconut milk almond milk like three simple ingredients. That's all you need now. If you want to get fancy they can add in some spinach or some cinnamon or something else but really berries coconut almond milk in collagen protein. And just doing that smoothie for breakfast something like that that that's a that's a great start for most people now. In addition i would say for different conditions. I think having a general plan of what you're going to try to eat for meals not every meal of the week necessarily but saying to yourself like ideally. I'm going to try to somebody for breakfast for lunch. I'm going to try and do just real food. I'm going to try an e. Some sort of organic meat maybe whole grain and then for dinner. I'm going to try and do meet and double vegetables. You know something like that there and not every night but most nights in one of the things even i started doing this is when i was in college and now i just i pretty healthy most of the time but i i kind of have my vacation meals and so like saturdays and or you may take off the weekends. Eat really healthy. Monday through friday so there are different ways to do it. I think think about what really fits into you and your lifestyle but to get the next level. I think changing breakfast and just generally having a of knowing. Here's what i'm going to try to eat during the week. I think those two things go a long way and when you're talking about the foods picking again you're not trying to cause necessarily weight loss or a certain size. It is real foods whole foods actually impact your health me. Weight loss is a byproduct of for me. It's not weight loss weight gain. It's more eat the foods that are right for your body and your body will get to where it should be. Because here's the other thing too. I just want to be real clear about this. This is something not. You may not hear a lot of doctors talk about. There's not one perfect diet for everybody. I mean has anyone here. That's listening and you ever had like a friend. They did a diet and they saw great results. You tried the same thing. It's just did not work for you because we are all unique individuals. That's one of the principles of ancient madison. Medicine is that you have really unique makeup and some people do well on akito diet but a lot of people don't some people can get away with doing vegan for some people..

"And they tend to be warriors. Okay if somebody like. I'm wired more thin and tall and you can see my veins and that sort of thing i'm known as more of a with elements so i'm more most susceptible to the emotions of frustration and impatience. Okay and those affect my liver gallbladder. So if i get out of balance that's what i'm most susceptible do by the way i'm this quiz and my new book ancient remedies. Do you wanna go. I am. I know what i am so i think you're one of three. I would think you're either a an earth or maybe a water medal your cheekbones. Tell me tell me a little something that you're probably structured and organized. But maybe but i'm that fire was an option right or you could. I'm fire so let me say those when i took the quiz. That's what i got. I love that quiz. So so fire. Elements are very passionate. They're very excited. And actually this makes sense now so that they're very passionate. They actually tend to sometimes they have a little bit more to read. Tend to their hair and their skin. You'll see a little bit more. You can see more of that The fire lines are known for their most susceptible to to anxiety how they tend to be fire. Laments are very they're magnet for people. I mean if you wanna go like if you're having a party and you wanna have a good time. It's like somebody that people are going to gather around connect with its that person and so so yeah man. That's me i don't know what. Tcl s means but that's talking to violence tend to actually so this is related to the thyroid is actually part of that element and so oftentimes. It's an issue related to the thyroid and the small intestine which is where you absorb nutrients and so a lot of times. Their nutritional deficiencies can be created. Where for instance. If you aren't absorbing b twelve correctly or iron or certain other nutrients that can really affect affect the body. And i don't wanna get too complex here. But here's the other thing that happens in most likely in your case is that you have one organ system that starts to affect the other. What happens is if you're fire element if you if you're going going going too much to where you're kind of like on all the time somewhat say that. That system actually supports the pancreas. It's the pancreas an insulin levels that is really typically at the root cause of any sort of issue. And so for you though. Your issue is not directly caused by the pancreas or insulin. It's actually caused by you. Not unplugging enough going too much not unplugging us yeah that's just what i would typically be an pattern so i'm not saying that you but i just because we're just men meeting. Yeah yeah yeah. You're live diagnosing me very correctly. Everyone listening is like that. Couldn't be more anne. But also i'm very active about and i say to people like i take a day off every week i i. "Today was interesting. We call hippocrates the father of modern medicine if apocalypse was practicing today as a physician. Everybody would say you're a holistic medical doctor your natural medical doctor. He was prescribing fasting and herbs and essential oils and sunbathing and all. These things will be wheel anyways. All that being said so. So here's how this works and we know this to be in common sense will tell us. This is true this yeah yeah use commonsense so if somebody is experienced different what causes disease in. Most people is not genetics. Genetics plays a role small role. We'll plays a bigger role. Is the type of emotions you experience that would determine what type of condition or health problems that you experience. I'll give an example. If somebody has a lot of fear in their life they have a lot of fear we know that their in something called a firefight state. That affects the adrenal glands. If you get really afraid well in the past. Hey a bearer lion was chasing you today. You have emotional stress at work or in your family. Your body gets in a fight or flight. State your your adrenal glands pump out adrenaline cortisol stress hormones. So we know that the emotion of fear that specific emotion affects the adrenal glands and actually the kidneys as well. We're thinking of. This child has a nightmare that can cause them to wet the bed. We know that nightmares. It's a form of fear affects the kidneys and the urinary bladder thinking about an upset stomach and by the way most women i've worked with who have hormone issues that are related to the ovaries and uterus and some of those other hormonal issues. A lot of times. It's a type of fear could be fear of failure. Fear of disappointing. And letting others down all kinds of things and so that really affects your hormonal system. Would we're talking about the emotion of fear we're talking about your upper digestive system your stomach and your pinkers. It's the emotion worried about this. If somebody worried actually say. I feel like my stomach is tied in knots. Yeah and then upsets somebody words. We know that worry causes disease upper. Gi your upper digestive system anger. Why don't you costume an angry drunk. We actually know that. Anger affects the liver and gallbladder effects. It causes toxically delivering gallbladder and vice in vice versa. We'll get into healing emotions here in a minute but it's more anxiety like nervousness. If you get really anxious your blood pressure goes up. So we know that ain't anxiety affects your heart and your cardiovascular system causes disease that's there too too long in the last one is your immune system which is makes up your lungs colin's of your lower digestive system you're in your whole immune system. That's really related to london corner. The emotion of fort grief is is. Something bad has happened in the past. And you're still living with it today. It could be unforgiveness. It could be shame guilt from the past. But you're living with somebody it could be physical or emotional abuse and you're still living with something in the past affecting your day that completely shuts down and weakens your immune system. It's like it's on hyper drive working all the time to where it it'll cause food. Sensitivities can lead to autoimmune disease cancer all of those immune related conditions from those emotions and so but then there's the opposite. There's those healing emotions hope. That's hope and faith. Those are more futuristic support healing of the liver. The gall bladder the digestive Oregon's forgiving others. Boom that has incredible healing properties for now your immune system and so on. We could get into all that being said. I think it's so critical if somebody's when somebody goes look to the dictionary. It says health is wholeness and body mind and spirit so if somebody's going gonna heal. They really need to be taken care of their. Their emotional has in fact if somebody has listening to this and they have hypothyroidism or pc os or motors thyroiditis or any of those issues. Fifty percent typically at least of that healing is working on healing. These emotions now. Another big part is diet. Okay that definitely plays huge role. But i think if we're talking about fifty fifty here. It's this sort of diet. Plus emotions are really important for doing. Okay so let's we'll start with the emotion part and then and as i told you we have questions from our. Afdc week in review friends but for any of us that are and you. And i talked to ahead of time you know. I was diagnosed with a bunch of years ago. And by when you're talking about healing the emotional part. How do you even identify if you're like well. Yeah i've had an upset stomach. But is it because i have stomach cancer it because i'm i'm afraid like how do we even figure out where the emotional part of what's going on in our bodies is happening most frequently. It's the emotion affecting the organ and there's a lot you can tell from. Somebody i can tell from. And there's people much more Gifted at this than i am. But i can actually tell a lot of times. Somebody's facial features. Are you can tell what emotion. They're most likely to experience my as ever taken a well. Let me shows how many people here have ever done a disc profile or any ingraham or isn't it amazing that you take those quizzes and you're like wow. That is so accurate. For how i'm saw any graham eight seven. My wife is a three two. We're like when we read this like. Wow that's spot on same thing. Any personality profile i've ever done. Chinese medicine had the first ever personality profile. Nearly four thousand years ago and it was called the five elements of chinese medicine where you essentially were diagnosed and you were. You were found to have one of those five. There were elements and based on that it was a personality profile and we knew based on your personality your wired to experience different emotions so somebody comes into conflict in their life. They can deal with in different ways. Somebody could get angry about the issue. Somebody can get depressed about the issue. Somebody could start to worry about all the things that can go wrong because of the issue so all that being said so if somebody has more around features coding earth element trace amounts..

"Their health. He's the host of the doctor act show and the author of the bestselling cookbooks. Kito diet and college diet and his new best. Selling book is called ancient remedies. You're really going to enjoy this conversation. So here's my conversation with dr josh. Okay dr act. Thank you so much for being on. That sounds fine today. I'm so here. I know that You know i was supposed to be there in person but hey virtually great to yet. Please tell me where you are instead of in. Rainy freezing nashville. I'm in florida down here in the center. Beach on thirty eight. If you've ever been here at his third is really. Oh my gosh okay josh. Here's the thing. All of our friends listening probably know who you are probably already get some of your supplements nutrients and you had a new book. Just come out called ancient remedies so we use start you back me up a little bit because we've barely been friends in real life. We share all the friends but this this is our friendship. Starting how did you get into combining white. You knew of medicine with kind of these ancient remedy ideas and and spirituality. Yes so for me. Actually to kind of go way back. I have a mom who was diagnosed with cancer. When i was very young. And that really inspired me to want to help other people with their house. So for instance. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. And she she went through all the traditional medical treatments. She had a mistake. Demy went through. Chemotherapy and i still remember losing her hair. And how sick she got and thinking to myself. There's got to be a better way more natural way to heal. And so my mom was eventually diagnosed as being cancer free and healthy. For the next ten years i saw my mom developed. All these health issues chronic fatigue syndrome. She got put on ended a precedent anxiety drugs. She was sick and tired all the time. And then during that time. Seeing my mom i said hey i wanna to be a doctor so i went and started studying more natural medicine chiropractic nutrition and these natural forms of medicine and i was about to graduate and i get a call from my mom and she says been diagnosed with cancer again. What do i do. I said mom will be home. Flew back to ohio where i grew up and we sat down. First thing we did is pray together. I grew up in a in a home with just amazing christian. Parents who really just instilled in me know encouraged me to build developed relationship with god and so that's always been part of our family dynamic and a big part of my life for a long time but that with with that you know. I think one of the things i was able to do at that time is sort of looking at the big picture and say okay and i've never been one to just follow the crowd of always been more to say i'm gonna step back. I'm gonna look at the big picture and say what's really going on here because everyone has their agenda and for me. I stood back pretty early time. I said what's the agenda of the pharmaceutical industry. What's the agenda of the natural medicine industry. What's the agenda of big food company. Monsanto these big agricultural companies. And just saying you know what. I'm not gonna necessarily listen to this person this. I'm going to step back and look at the big picture. And i also want to see what works and what. I started noticing over time when somebody eats healthy. Verse does it. I mean this sounds like common sense. The people but it made a big difference in their health. When i saw someone going through a lot of these conventional treatments like my mom did i saw some of that actually looked worse and had more health problems. I when i saw somebody who started using all these holistic treatments they started using vegetables. They stared at drinking bone broth. They started using tumor. Eric and exercising and doing these things. I saw some. That kept getting better and better and better south so when my mom got this diagnosis i immediately also started doing a lot of research. I started reaching out to a lot of the incredible is a functional medicine. I knew from around the country and saying hey if this is your family member what would you do. And then i started going to the medical research. I started looking up. Things like chinese medicine herbs. So i i started learning about chinese medicine and all these other things and finding that there's all this research some of the us but actually a lot more in israel and asia That really really proved efficacy of the benefits of using things like tomb rick and rishi mushroom green tea and garlic and some of these other things have anticancer properties so really it was through a mentorship in terms of having amazing doctors. Who help mentor me. In the space it was through a lot of research myself and and so we applied these things with my mom and be cancer naturally and today. She's in her late s and she is You know she water ski. She ran a five k. With me not too long ago and got second regime and she has great how religion. That's what led me to also found the companies. I've founded because. I wanted to teach people how to use food as medicine. I wanted to teach people how to get well naturally and i just know from being that person in a family who had somebody. That was so begin by the way it wasn't just my mom was sick. Might my dad's sister had major allergies in some health problems. I always had major bronchitis and breathing issues. Because i stopped drinking milk and sugar and actually i just got a lot better. This thing started learning. All of this. And then i ran more of a family practice in nashville and i did practice practice. I have a couple of great doctors. I can refer people to But mission now is really creating the world's moves Most powerful supplements for people in nutrients and getting content out. There just really teaching people how to how to use food as medicine a lot of that. My new book ancient remedies people were interested in healing. The root cause. They can check out that book. But that's that's kind of where a lot of started. Okay so dr. Acts one of the things i wanted to cover early on is will you talk a little bit about how our health and our bodies is affected by our spiritual or emotional health like what do you believe about the tied together of all the parts of us. Obviously if someone jumping into the bible solomon and other people are talking about how different emotions can actually affect our body. You know and so and but there's something really really focused on in chinese muslim. Here's some that's interesting as well and there's a scripture in the bible and it says. And abraham sent qatar east and her sons with gifts okay and essentially qatar. Some people believe that that was our some people believe it was a. It's in the bible. So you to read that yourself and what my friend jordan rubin was in israel and talking to a rabbi there and they said well actually medicine actually stems from was actually stems from abraham some of the and not saying everything but sort of those modalities of using foods and herbs to support the healing of the body that area of it and so anyway a lotta times. E- this happens a lot of times in certain especially a christian community. Don't think anything from asia's bad. I'm just saying this is true like anything that's east or eastern medicine. It's all this nonsense different language. In fact it's closer to the medicine that people practice during this time..

"Are trying to figure out how to get healthy. Yeah i would say this one. Keep it simple one to practices that i have one. Is i do a spiritual triathlon. Every morning spend five minutes in gratitude. Five minutes reading my bible or just a personal growth or devotional book. And then i spent five minutes in prayer meditation. I'm telling you i just do that every morning. And i think we do need to focus more on our spiritual health. Dr mark on your new book. You talk a lot about mood and healing our mind and that sort of thing. And i'm so with you there. I just think for all of us really. Fostering these healthy emotions in a world today that so full of fear having more faith and hope and love and really but we need to build those you know just like we need to build a healthy body. We've got to build those healthy emotions and then and then one less nutritional tip we talk about a lot. I mean there's a lot of information but think about this even if you just change breakfast that's like a third of your diet you know really and i noticed when i eat a better breakfast. I wanna eat a better lunch in a better dinner. So and if you don't if you're intermittent fasting than hey whatever your first meal of the day is but i think starting off with something like collagen smoothie like coconut milk and a cup of berries and scoop of someone like collagen powder and boom. I feel great doing that. I've had patients do that. They feel gray. So i think those are two big things continue to learn and educate yourself encourage you. Get the book. Ancient remedies. get dr marks book. The pagan died. That's fantastic too. But i've noticed. Dr mark the people that are the healthiest that i know. Most of them are learners. They're constantly reading constantly. Learning listening to your podcast. That of thing my podcast. And i think that's another big part of being healthy. Wanna say i'm just such a huge fan of yours. I'm just such an honor to be on today and in. Thanks for having me on. Thanks josh everybody's been listening and credit checkout joshua's book ancient remedies lima commonly love to hear from you and maybe house nature ever. He's helped you subscribe your podcasts. "Your body's going to use these herbals in these foods as the building blocks to repair itself what herbs do as they change the environment more than anything they put your body in a better place where it's better able to heal itself and so with that you know as we're talking about a immunity it's really really important and again think about this. Also thinking about your buddies is a bucket. Okay if it's clean if it's healthy it's not gonna going to attract any bugs. Essentially that's what some of these things are parasites viruses bacteria. You see some of these things that we can get inside our body and we had a flood years ago in nashville and afterwards dr mark i mean i had so many patients coming with mole talks society because they didn't get it cleaned up properly. I mean mold was a huge issue for years in nashville so all that being said but but in order for mold to grow it has to be in a very specific environment has to be damp and in the way you get rid of it as you have a lot of airflow and light and you dry it out ok. The same thing happens in our body and chinese medicine. They'd call it dampness but but essentially in our bodies if our body gets too damp in our body also gets in a bad environment. That's what allows these bugs to thrive and so you just need to change the environment. That's what he's one of the things people should notice. Is that most herbs that you take for fighting and info for fighting. A virus are bitter okay. Bitter drives out. Dampness in flam and candidate and chinese medicine don't in fact andro graphics which is one of the herbs now most prescribed in asia japan. For something like cova it's known as king of the bidders. It is the most bitter or have you days. You're like this is the most better thing i've ever had in my life but if you try echinacea that's really better. That's another good one a lot of these. Aren't olive leaf. These are all very very bitter. Those herbs are going to help drive out and actually have a lot of those antiviral properties with those things. And then i would also say Things that are going to just activate the immune system so you have the ones that help drive the bowed style foul and the ones that strengthen your organ systems in your own body to better fight off the infection stragglers as a great example of when that really strengthens your own system so you can better fight off a virus. What i recommend dr mark Let me do what nutrients nutrients number. One is vitamin d. I know. I've heard you say the same thing but vitamin d most important nutrients. We need to support our immunity right now and number one. Get the sun as much as you can. But if not take vitamin d number. Two from what i've seen in working with people izaac you know. I think even when people are losing their sense of taste and smell you can go to the medical literature. You can read about most a lot of times. That's it's more severe will take longer if you have a zinc deficiency. So that's the next big one. Those are the two biggest ones. I've seen vitamin d zinc. And then there's other things. I think that vitamin c duty. Greek can be good. But i don't even think that's the biggest one i think vitamin a in some cases or even nutrients like course attend are more important but i would say zinc and vitamin d. You want to take those. In in terms of herbals. I really like a stragglers for long term prevention of strengthen your immune system if you get something i like andrew graphics asia and then do a degree. Yeah those are probably. I'm could mentioned a bunch more. But i think those are the big ones. I think those are really important. And i think the other thing i wanted to sort of dig into read about in your book which You know it's a lot of press. Which is cbd in indo cabinet system and how that works and what we should know about that because one of the plant remedies that you talk about which little controversial unless people are scared of it. I'm like i am i gonna take. Cbd i'm gonna get drugs and i'm to get stone. I can't do it. Because i my workouts. Let me smoke pot like what. What is all the hubbub about it. And what do we know. What is the best application of meeting. What do we use it for. Well first off. I agree and i am hemp farm ryan one thousand acres of certified organic land where we grow organic hemp. That being said there are different ways to grow the plant to where it has larger levels of different compounds so to many compounds in hemp also cannabis. And you're going to have and cbd thc as a compound has hallucinogenic effects. That's what's going to get somebody high. Cbd is a very very different compound. Cbd is just calming. It's actually it. It comes from the butt of a flower of the hemp plant. And it's more similar to cameo or hops or even lavender. It's more similar in compound there so you have these two compounds in a plan chinese medicine. It's not as the yen tonic. So it's going to help if you're in a sympathetic state. You're in a fight or flight response. Which so many so many of us are today. It's going to help bring you down from that. In fact i would say. Cbd is maybe the most effective herbal. i've ever used a getting people out of that fighter flight state. Which is why i do think it is so powerful for people to use if you if you really need to get better sleep. Cbd is the best used if you want to improve and help reduce inflammation in joints. It's a really good one for that. I also think it's good for For for digestion.

"Designed to heal our bodies and to regulate all the functions of our body which is so brilliant. And that's what your book really goes into anchor to go. Get a copy is called incheon. Remedies secrets to healing herbs. Essential oil cbd and the most powerful natural medicine in history. The most minute history. What is that well. The natural medicine history. I really go through. Actually it's more personalized medicine. Data the most powerful medicine in history. Because you know the different herbs are good for so many things you cover stuff in the book. Like for instance. If you've got an immune system issue in ancient chinese medicine an urban we we re some people use here. But i don't see. I've actually heard you talk about it but probably one of the top five. Chinese medicine was stragglers. Like a straggler today. What is known for his actually helping repair leaky gutter. Your gut related immune system that super powerful. A lot of people. Don't even i haven't even heard of a stragglers. Has all of these benefits. We know herbs like Galangue goal you know that. Cousin of tumor can ginger. Has all of these anticancer properties andro graphics. There's some great new research on andro graphics in its ability to fight viruses and so anyways. Yeah i think it depends on the person one of the things i do love. Dr mark about ancient chinese madison is it was really the first form that i've seen documented of personalized medicine. It's kinda like you know it's kind of almost started off and also include your personality profile anybody's ever done like in any graham test or myers briggs disc profile. Sometimes when you read as you're like. Wow that's you know almost every time you're like wow that is really on. That's my personality where they did that in chinese medicine. It's called the five elements and so they really know. Hey here's your personality. But they said based on your emotions. I think this is really incredible based on your motions that tends to be the biggest driver of what causes disease in which organ system. Because why is it today. Most people would say genetics. Like why does one person get diabetes. But another person could be eating almost the same diet but that person ends up with more a heart disease and high blood pressure and cholesterol. Another person thyroid issues in another person. What what they say is different emotions effective in oregon. So for instance and we know this is true. The emotion of fear. If you're fearful maybe fear of failure. Fear of disappointing loved ones. That actually causes adrenal issues or if a child gets really scared at night. Nightmares cause fear that has actually affect the kidneys and they can wet the bed. The emotion of worry specifically affects the upper digestive system to pancreas and stomach. People say oh my stomach feels like it's tied nuts if they worry a lot. The emotion of grief most affects the lungs and colon. which is your immune system so Or unforgiveness something. That's happened in the past. I heard a trauma you haven't been able to let go. That's completely affecting. The immune system can trigger things out immune like issues and that sort of thing and the thing about heart anxiety. That's related to your heart. Your your blood pressure raises so they would actually say chinese medicine. Food is important but more than fifty percent of health conditions today are experiencing negative emotions. So they always say you've got to address that negative emotion to completely heal absolutely. I think it's so critical. And i think you know. Your book is full of practical suggestions and really wonderful tips. On how to incorporate some of these ancient principles into everyday life to optimize our health antics fix biology. I sort of want to get into sort of You know the the role of spices and herbs and other things like cbd essential oils and healing mushrooms around our immune system because right now with cove nineteen. We're all a little bit scared of getting it And what i believe is that you know. And this is sort of goes back to this. Ancient debate between louis pastor and another scientist at a time. who's most even forgotten him. Main claude bernard nine and louis pester were for those who don't know was the guy who figured out microbes and he discovered bacteria looked under microscope and saw these things and connected them to pneumonia for campbell. Strap bacteria causing strap pneumonia and so forth. club bernard had different theory. He said it's not just the microbe it's the host of matters he called biological terrain. The state of your health that determines your risk of getting sick or not and how sick you will get and i think people are not discussing this around. Kobe devastating to me. Because there's so much we can do to rejuvenate armenian system become immune resilient and twelve and to reduce our risk if we get sick of getting very sick and even to reduce the risk of getting sick at all and and we know from other studies. You can literally inject coal viruses directly into the nostrils of people and not. Everybody will get sick. Young hens One of the studies. They look at their stress score the more stress. They had the more likely they were going to get sick. If you're weren't stressed or less likely get sick. And that's just one component. Your diet plays a role and was also really exciting about the book that you've written inch. Remedies include a lot of remedies that can help rejuvenate and build and boost your immune system. So we can become more immune resilient and actually do better in this in this pandemic which i fear will be lasting for quite a while not just another year or so but when longer yet what will dr mark i. I love that reference. Because i i've talked about that before. He'll between pasture and bernard and really terrain and the train of your body. So i just think that's a perfect example to talk about in terms of covert and fighting viruses today. Really the thought. I want to go back something. Hippocrates said he said he said that the body heals itself. He really you know talked about this. That listen it's not a food that he owes you a lot of times. We think broccoli heels me or to merak or another herb. Really your if you got a.

"About Thirty-seven and twenty nine million pounds are used for preventing infection from overcrowding in factory farming of animals. Brighton called carlos feed about. You know maybe seven eight million are used in humans which is about two hundred and sixty million prescriptions. A year of antibiotics. And there's a lot of written about this article eat. Dirt is a wonderful book By a professor and new york Called missing microbes In a how. This is profoundly changing our health for the worse by killing off the ecosystem in our bug. There's another great. A great book called the epidemic of absence which talks about how the messing up of our gut in the absence of good. Bugs is literally driving a whole series of diseases from allergy immunity. And even in lots more things. We're linking the microbiome to autism and alzheimer's and heart disease and cancer and depression. You name it and a lot of this has to do with the overuse of antibiotics in our society and i. I remember being in medical school and this was thirty plus years ago. We were told you know. Be careful. don't overuse. Antibiotics is a big issue on. It's even kind of worse. So how is this one of the most important public health threats. We face today. One of the things i love about you. Dr mark as we share the same passion of regenerative agriculture. And i own about five. I co own five thousand acres of organic land some tennessee some in missouri. Where we've we do myself in jordan. Rubin it's called permaculture creating food forests really working on healing the planet. It's incredible. I mean if you if we would not be focused on the short term but focused on the long term even financially we could feed the entire world. If we focused on doing food forests. Were were growing more. Things like apple trees and walnut trees and more perennial plants rather than soybeans wheat and corn. Like it literally changes the environment and so all that being said. I think it's it's so so important just to note one. You know it's better for the planet when you follow these farming practices but what we're doing today is. We're giving a lot of these animals You know we're giving them. Were feeding them. Genetically modified corn soya and wheat. That's the that's the base of their feed and then we're putting antibiotics in there. I just consistently and what happens is eighty percent of the world's antibiotics are not given to humans they're given to livestock eighty percent of antibiotics. It's crazy so what's going to be happening is when we consume those antibiotics via those Animal tissues or dairy or other things. What that's going to do is that's going to damage a lot of our gut microbes okay. It's gonna it's gonna kill off a lot of those good idea. You're gonna have more overgrowth of a lot of the bad bacteria and that's a massive part of your immune system big. You know big cause of things like leaky gut syndrome. Which is the root cause of. Autoimmune disease weakened immunity migraine headaches food sensitivities and one of the things i do talk about in my book eat dirt i really get into you. Know how. We have sometimes over sanitized in many cases. And i think that's important even in the word of cova today it's important to keep in mind. We want. We want to practice proper sanitation. We absolutely do. And i think there are some natural things that can help us do it. There are really powerful. Essential oils like tea tree oil and others that i think are good use on a regular basis but studies show. We need to be deeply connected with the earth you know in so with that being said there are studies showing. If you live on a farm you actually have a stronger. Immune system healthy immune system less food allergies less food sensitivities. Are they've shown in studies if you have a dog or a cat actually by forty night you have forty nine percent less food allergies food sensitivity food sensitivities in a stronger immune system. What else is unique. As i read a study. This is out of japan and they showed that if you're eating foods that are more local in nature. They talked about seaweed over there that you're getting some different types of soil based organisms whether it's from the sea or the land and those actually work with your immune system at driving out bad bacteria helping modulate your immune system. You know when we hear of immunize ation doctor. Dr mark a lot of times. I there had goes to a shot but the truth is i've got an eight and a half month old daughter now and we will support her immunity. We will support her natural e You know naturally immunize her through getting her exposure to certain things in fact local honey a lot of times people talk about. Oh take local honey. for allergies. The big benefit of local raw honey is that it contains over two hundred microbes. And if you do that year round you're getting pollen and all these exposures it's it's a form of a natural immunization saying it's the only way to obviously there's many but it's one of the ways we naturally strengthened and boost immune systems. So i. i think we've really lost that sort of ancient of being deeply connected to the outdoors and our environment in in in that way strengthening our immune in our bodies absolutely.

thirty plus years ago forty night japan eighty percent seven eight million five thousand acres mark over two hundred microbes jordan One today eight and a half month old one About Thirty-seven forty nine percent missouri tennessee about two hundred and sixty mi Brighton twenty nine million pounds

"Of your immune system lives in your gut and that's because that's your gut lining in those probiotics. So you really want to consume foods that are going to help repair and build collagen and the whole gut. Your gastrointestinal tract so bone broth is number one specifically chicken and brought the reason why interestingly chicken broth you know when you're sick no one's ever life like go drink a bunch of beef broth it's always chicken broth and chicken soup reasoning chicken broth has something unique in that it not only is collagen which is the most important thing. But it also has glucose amine condruct Roddick acid which are known as collagen boosters. Actually compounds that are that partly. Make up your gut as well in your joints in. So that's why chicken broth is so good. Chicken broth helps nourish and strengthen your immune system. That's the number one food after chicken broth and doing different forms of bone broth and collagen consuming foods that are rich and things like vitamin c. So lemons are going to be gray. kiwis go gee berries but doing some of those vitamin c rich foods but specifically yellow foods are going to be good me so like me so sue So me so is a firm. It'd soya to probiotic rich food. That contains unique probiotic that strengthens your immune system. And then ginger right. So when. I was a kid anytime. I was second. I'm sure with you ladies. It's the probably the same thing my mom gave me chicken vegetable soup and ginger ale and ginger around like. Where did she get that idea. Actually i was talking to a guy yesterday. He was like my mom. Always gave me coke. Start off as ginger ale. But then i just saw coke is kind of the same not ginger or co. It's ginger herbal tea okay. That's the ancient chinese remedy when you're sick but again it's the color yellow also getting garlic and onion and those sort of things in a vegetable silvio notice. They're all light yellow in color. They're all immune strengthen hers and then getting orange foods like carrots and pumpkin and butternut squash and then green foods like dark green leafy vegetables. That's the ideal meal so doing bone broth and chicken. And some of those meat-based products doing loads and loads of vegetables that are green and orange and yellow wasser herbs and spices. If you can follow a diet like that that the ultimate diet wishing your immune system and in combination probably doing some you know again me. Sos affirmative food but sauerkraut is great as well. That sort of thing. Our town so many times and i can never eat. It sits in my fridge. Like i'm gonna do sauerkraut today and it said semi quickly really fast before we move onto the next one with wild herbs and spices help. I don't. I don't understand our. That's that's helpful. That's a great question. Well let me hit on the vitamins. And then i'll head on the so three main three main nutrients zinc number. One zinc is important because it's the mineral responsible for tissue regeneration so and it's responsible for your body actually building and creating a certain amount of immune cells zinc is is number one mineral. You should take then vitamin d. and vitamin c. Those are important for your body's immune response So if you're wondering what nutrients take zinc vitamin d vitamin c herbs. I recommend in one berry but elderberry echinacea and a stragglers the way that herbs work is they help bring nourishment in strengthened certain organ system so for instance Echinacea echinacea is known as a lung. Strengthener what we've seen with a lot of certain viruses affect different areas some affect your joints some affect your lungs some effect. You're blind so really. Depends on the virus. That's why sometimes people with virus get a sore throat. Some people get really weak. Some people get joint pain. Some people throw up. That's a bit of if if the virus affects more of your digestive system. Some people have trouble breathing so different viruses affect different areas of the body. Echinacea primarily is a lung in a lung strengthener and the two most primary parts of your immune system. According to chinese medicine are your lungs and your colon so echinacea even medical studies. Who's been shown to work as an adapted for athletes increasing their endurance. So so what a lot of herbs do is they will help strengthen different organ systems and think about it like this if you want to strengthen your muscles you consume protein right and it's the the actual principle like supports like you. Can you consume you that portion of the animal that makes them up so like a game or chicken breasts. Those are the muscles of the animals so they support your muscles. All that being said is echinacea is a lung builder. Which is why it's very good. Elderberry is a it activates. Your immune cells is really what it does. That's gonna cause those cells to kill off by 'rises okay so it's causing yourselves to kill off. Viruses is part of what leads. Stragglers is very similar in that way so some of them really you know some herbs strengthen your own body some tone affi- in nourish your blood It just really depends. You also mentioned lifestyle changes and you know you mentioned in the book toxic emotions and i'm just curious especially this past year You know lots of fear lots and lots of fear stress. And i just have to imagine that it's affecting our immune systems are the left to talk about bad connection to immunity the so they're really both in today's medical science and in you know the you know. Nearly four thousand years of our veteran in chinese medicine they talk about this and today's scientists and it never goes very deep. Our science is very actually superficial in what it looks at. So they'll kind of lump it in with stress okay so but there are studies that show that stress increases your likelihood of getting a number of conditions but also a cold and flu and being susceptible to viruses so that research is there in ancient chinese medicine different emotions affect.

"Just knowing knowing that you're called to do something important you're called a change? The world in a very specific way and if those passions and gifts those passions and gifts together combined mind that you should just know. Hey when you're doing those things it's eventually going to happen. And here's the other thing read about people who have been in a similar situation nations. You read their stories. And you're GONNA see almost every time if they're operating in their gifts and passions. They eventually succeed they win. They reached the peak and they went. Yeah let's talk about doubts. Ugliest cousin fear. Because you've had to face fear we all face. Fear never goes away we just we summon the courage to step into it and throw it so somebody right now. Their hearts beat now. They're chess josh. They know that they can do it. They know they should do it but they're just terrified. What would you say from your experience experience? A couple of things one do it anyway. Yeah that's the thing like. When I remember the first time I had to speak? It's funny I speak so much now but I was sweating sweating bullets remember. I went up to my metro I talked about earlier and I said Dr Ben like do you ever stop getting nervous and he told me no and a and I almost freaked me out more be said. Here's what I do. He said I know that have been called to be on a mission. He's like if you read the stories of the Bible and people whether it's Moses or somebody else they. I didn't WanNa do it you know. They didn't feel they did it. And eventually you know eventually maybe they felt more comfortable doing it. But he just encouraged me that way. And here's the other thing he said you know you also need to surround yourself with the support group in the right people who were encouraging you along the way and so. That's another thing. This might seem a little off topic but I really believe when you're around around people that have a strong belief system and that are telling you this can be done and so that principle you become like the five people you surround yourself with somebody asked me what is my biggest biggest life lesson it. Is you become like who you surround yourself with. I'm so conscious in proactive. About who I spend time with. That's going to be asking to spend more time with you. Some of you we talked about. Is I know that iron sharpens iron right. And that's an important thing for people to if if they're dealing with fear it really is. Let's talk about about people who are going through tough time physically You know there's all kinds of stuff going on and they don't have answers yet and you and I were talking about this the other day. You know it. It's it's not just the physical challenges. It's the mental and emotional challenges the mental toughness. And then you just get beat down emotionally and I we're we're GonNa talk about some specific things in how the body operates and how that's important in maximizing our gifts for the benefit of others but they're just not getting any answers. I just want you to encourage them from your knowledge about how the body has tremendous power to heal itself if we if we treat it the right way it does is an in Kenneth saying here our bodies. Do you have an amazing capacity. He'll if you had a little cut on your hand right now or you cut yourself recently healed up your body. Every area wants to do the same thing you just you. You need to change your environment. I think that's the big thing a lot of people think. Oh if I take this single medication or the supplements that's going to heal me. No it's really you know it's really taking care of yourself in terms of what you're doing with your diet and also what you're doing with your emotional health and state is so critical to your overall health and so oh you know scheduling time where you get to recharge and refresh do hobbies. Do the things you love. I think these things are so critical and important but if you are a person out there and you get discouraged. Here's the thing thing I want to say. One thing to remember is healing takes time and the next thing to remember is. Don't give up. Just keep moving forward. Keep doing the right the things and if something isn't working after months and maybe need to switch and try something else and get around. People that are healthy asked them start seeing. Uh here's the biggest thing can I'll tell Ya. I almost never had somebody who if I told them exactly what to do. If I created a plan they followed where they didn't heal the people that don't are the people who the plan halfway or maybe five or ten percents plan. That's right be all in. That's a you said something to me breakfast. The other Davitti you up to sell because I remember I went. That's that's really good and I'm GonNa Paraphrase because you were talking about you know When you'll talk to a patient or somebody and they'll say I I wanNA change and then you'll give them a plan? They don't do it and you said to me they really don't want to change that much because they're willing to deal with the ongoing pain misery all the stuff off the comes with that instead of do the hard work. The uncomfortable work of change and disciplined. So there is a point where somebody goes. They don't want it bad enough there. Okay and misery. Listen I can tell within. I mean when I was running my fulltime clinic and I would sit down with somebody I could tell them immediately if they were going to. If if this is gonNA work or not how because there is two answers I would say something I would look at what I always had them. Fill out a diet diarrhea and I look at what they'd eat breakfast lunch and dinner and I would say look at them and say okay okay. You're eating Abegg with cream cheese or cereal and something you're doing you know these whatever and chips for a sandwich chips for lunch and you're doing pasta for dinner and and I just start with breakfast and I would say rather than eating this. Let's do a super food smoothie it's gotTA taste great. We're going to strawberry bananas. We're going to college and we're GonNa do a little bit of almond milk and we're gonna I'M GONNA. That's what your new for breakfast. Every day I get responses. Wow that sounds great. I'm ready or I can't my cereal anymore. I can't on more I can't yeah. There's there's your sign. Yeah you're right they don't WanNa make change WJR and some people here's just A. This is a little deeper but some people their health conditions become their identity. Yeah I have fibromyalgia too degree three to where I am Fibromyalgia me and I've got an listen. I know what it's like. I've actually herniated disc in my back. Four or five years ago. I couldn't move for a month. It took me a year to recover so I just want to say this. I've seen my mom go through so I understand that. If you're dealing with a serious health condition I know how painful and devastating it can be all this all that being said. It's the same as you know losing somebody. Maybe you loved in your life. There is a period of hey grieving the situation but you know what then you gotTa pick yourself up dust yourself off and you've got to move forward and realize you aren't that condition. Russian ninety nine point nine percent of the time. You don't have to live with it forever. And you've got to say to yourself created new identity and knowing you're more than a conqueror knowing that you oh you guys got a great plan for your life and meditating on those things taking time writing down your goals creating a vision board doing these things and knowing because I think that's another thing can I wake up first thing in the morning when I'm praising God I look at my vision board and look at all the things I have to be excited about. And what my mission purposes in life if fires me up every single all day but a lot of people wake up the first thing they do is they deal with an emergency and other emergency another emergency. I think it's so critical that we get back to. What is our mission of purpose if if you don't know that follows them again teachings and find your mission and purpose and that's a great place to start to things I want to say here? I'm writing notes right right here in front of Josh Number One when you are on mission so you're in the sweet spot using what you do best to do what you love to do most and you are on mission. You can overcome a lot of pain. There's something about the heart and it does not negating the pain like Josh. We're not in any way minimizing. Is it the pain. However you'd be surprised what the mind and heart can overcome physically can? Can I share. Yeah it is and I want to share this I four and half years ago I was doing cross fit. Yeah I was doing something stupid which I know not do I heard a two disc in my back and it was so bad literally. Ah You guys Chelsea. I'd crawl around from. I couldn't move and it took and I know what to do. It just was so bad it took a while to get well so I was sitting there and for for for a year. I couldn't hardly go in the office so I for work would would record videos once a month in heart and it hurt to do it but then I would just call Evan in my top team members and I would call them two or three days a week and I would coach them I would see stats at see how they're doing essentially just coach my team Kyw tell you in all the years of business business including this year we saw the most growth and business that year when I did the least amount of work while because I was just so focused on just being in the zone which I thought was creating content. You know what it wasn't. It was developing and pouring into my leaders making them better leaders unbelievable and it was crazy. I mean literally we as we saw a six times growth that year in the business. That's an example that's it here's the thing I wrote down. This is Josh inspired this thought and I'm going to rant today on the radio radio. So we're we're you folks are listening to the podcast. So we're taping this in the morning. I'm I'm GonNa go live with us today. Everybody Josh wants the change. We want the money change you you want the job change. Want the health change. We want the relationship as we want the positive change every wants the change to happen. The the million dollar question is are you willing to change because there's no change if you don't change is just not going to happen. Yeah sounds crazy simple. But that's where it's got to get to the point. Where Davis said it a million times you get to the point? You're sick and tired of being sick and tired. That's money axiom. That's a health axiom. That's a business axiom. That's a leadership. Axiom so really good stuff. Well Josh. This is this is incredible stuff. I love that you shared your story whether it's going to really encourage a a Lotta people and equipped some people to do some things that maybe they'd done before so we know you're busy and we've got a lot going on but thanks for hanging with us and sharing with our.

"Answers podcast. I'm your host. Dr Anthony guests in joining me. This week is Dr Josh axe. Some people might be a little surprised about this episode. I get a lot of comparisons online in sumptious that we must be mortal enemies, just because we have seen background in a very similar company. And offering now that we must do it out. I don't is the case. I mean, we both had the same exact division goal, which is to get people healthier and help him fix your own health. And just like Elon Musk says, if another brand launches electric car that competes him great. We're going to take more gasolene cars the road. And that's how we operate as well as long as people are taking care of themselves and learning about health. I don't care who's doing it. And so we chat in this conversation about a lot of different stuff. Dr axis background a chiropractor now turned businessman and kind of similar to mine and Chinese medicine different herbs and spices. You should be eating just running the whole gamut around health official. Shnell Kita talks. Well, even briefly about psychedelic. So if you're interested in health just from a fundamental level of conversation for you. And I hope you enjoy. But before we get started. I want to let you guys on a little secret that is we have some brand new Kito bar flavors in. So the same thing that we had with all member brownie that you guys loved and went crazy about we sold out in five days we release that one. We have lemon poppy seed in salted caramel. So these are just ridiculous lemon poppy seed tastes exactly like a frosted limit poppy seed, Muffin or cake, or whatever you buy at Starbucks that delicious. But it kills you. Don't buy those things and then also salted caramel, which tastes pretty much. Like it says so care. So these things are great on the go as a treat whatever same standards, we have the other bar. So we tested blood sugar with this nobler, spike, no Kito levels, actually increased couple of team members of heat on levels. And yeah, I mean, otherwise the exact same way she bumped the collagen. From ten to eleven just because ten grams enough that we had to go weather, otherwise these things are amazing. So if you wanna try up before they got a stock, which me happen, very very soon. We just launched an perfect dot com and use the code new Kita bars at twenty percents off your order this whole month..
