"When you look at what's going on in Europe is going to spill over come across the Atlantic. It's not a question of the question of when George tell us now Joseph what is happening in Europe. They they seem to be a little bit of pandemonium over there. What's going on? All I think the biggest problem as we go forward with the European Union is the thanks that upon the European Union. Banks are in trouble. And I think he could be the next sovereign nation to really have some big problems affect us affect us dramatically here in the US, George how so. Connect international way. And he can't paper over these bad loans anymore. You can't keep printing money, George. We're at the end of the line. Well, that's true. Joseph's no question about it. Now, what about the housing market? You know, the bubble hit us in two thousand seven and eight with those derivatives and the housing market fell apart and everything else can that duplicated self against sadly. So I think you hit the nail right on ahead. That's exactly what I think is ahead of us, Georgia repeat about tobacco. Now, what are the signs out there? Quite frankly housing is just too for the average American. We got mortgage rates going up and people being required. Now, the neither very strict criteria to buy those are the things that I think it changed the market George. What about the interest rates Joseph? Quite frankly, in my humble opinion. I don't think they've done gone up. Oh, gosh. The higher. They go the worse. It gets. That's exactly right. George. While you see this. I see this don't they see this. They don't wanna see it George quite where they want to believe the good times will last forever. And you went on. I know that's not the case. They can't be that crazy or dumb Joseph George. Well, denial on purpose or denial out of naievety. Both that's dangerous. Very dangerous, which we're living in very dangerous times. What about the stock market? Let's get back to that for. How's that looking forward? I think we made a peak on September twenty first. And I don't think we'll look she level twenty six nine fifty one twenty nine forty s and p five hundred eighty one thirty three and the NASDAQ. I don't think we'll surpassed these Lowe's, George again in my humble opinion for at least a decade. I really don't we talk a lot about gold and silver investing on the program. Joseph in the last time, we talked you were very positive about gold and silver. How are you feeling now about Bush? And I think it's gonna be the best performing asset class in twenty nineteen twenty twenty George and safe to isn't it? Yes, it is. And the fact that gold and silver stored you went ahead you against inflation. Now, would they do this? When they hedge against inflation. We hear that China, for example, they're involved. What are they doing with all the selling oil for gold or something? Yes. Fail. Soling oil for gold. China's buying oil the gold rush selling oil for gold. This is a much different time George most people fail to recognize what's truly going on internationally. Well, they used to use dollars. Right. Yes. They did. And so they're getting out of that. That's dangerous. Isn't that? What got Saddam Hussein in trouble? That's exactly what God I'm in trouble. George. He got he he decided he wanted to get out of the dollar and us what other of the currencies is available to him. And we said, no, you're not. And look what happened. What are we going to do? We're not gonna do anything to Russia and China are we? Well, let's hope we don't we? I don't think we can. Well, you know, when you talk about Russia's special situation, but I'm more concerned with China, George tell me why sitting on three point one trillion dollars a US denominated assets. They've they've refused to buy any more government bonds. But they haven't sold yet. There's also sitting on about thirty thousand tonnes ago. Most people don't understand that. That's a lot of gold while the goal, George. No two ways about it. They report only whole thirty one hundred tons of. I've always heard that. We don't have any gold at Fort Knox that. It's just a ruse. Well, we have an avenue audit four Knox since the Korean war in nineteen fifty three. So who knows if there's any Goalby George go in there, and the it's empty, but we're guarding something trying to give people the impression that it's still there. Ability. Exactly, exactly. And then we lose a lot of gold in the towers during the nine eleven disaster. Yes, we did. They had it stored away there or what? It was still in the World Trade Center, but it's never been accounted for.

Days for detoxing alcohol, and I've since been put on a medicinal regimen and therapy every two weeks. How did you try to kill yourself? What did you what did you drive twenty gauge shotgun? God, obviously, you missed you missed or didn't pull the sweep the trigger. Right. My wife walked into the room both times with it in my mouth. Oh my God. Rabat's? There's a reason that year alive and treatment exists and just stay close with your wife, and then be sure and get treatment, and you can be helped and you will be helped. So I want you to just be very insistent on that. And don't give up. Thanks cameron. Thank you, Dr next stop. Let's go to Joe in Boston. Welcome to the program. Go ahead. Joseph George good evening at Joe. I I heard Dr Pratt a long time ago. And I was in the hospital twice doctor. I almost took my life. It was a bunch of pills as you know, Dr Pratt. Some of us have no family, and I know about EMT are it works for even people that are visually impaired. But I can't get any of these treatments up here. These tapping 'cause our agencies won't pay for what this one like myself do because where where are you in the Boston area? Doc. Near moss. Let's say Lynn amass how phone pay for this stand on believe in this stuff. You know what? Even if you have to pay out of pocket, you can do a lot and two visits. Yeah. That's not bad. Yeah. And so the now are you employed right now, he's he's he's visually impaired. Okay. But I mean, I so you're you're not able to work at this point. I am retired. I'm on social security, George. I only get a thousand a month they charged three thousand three hundred dollars per session. Jones. How do you live on a thousand a month? Well, I eat a soup kitchen, and I pay all my bills when I do that. I'm left with a hundred or two hundred dollars a month. That's it. But you manage. Yeah. But it's very very very hard. I'm seventy one years old. And I'm getting older family member. I told you they don't care about me. They haven't seen me in forty years. They don't accept people with disabilities. And I think this is where I contact Georgia's. Right. When you they can't see where treated differently because they can't make eye contact with this. The always talk about the people that make it. But those are the exceptions. I mean, that's how I feel but I cannot pay for these treatments. I know they work. I know acupuncture works exit friend used to do the are people with no sites. You're not depressed. Now. Are you Joe well partially, but not as bad as every time you call you seem up. Well, I mean, but but I hate the holidays. I I wish we never had a holiday. I hate them. You know, we're live for you. That those holidays that you have around where you live are you friendly within a they have the other individuals around. No, that's why I want to get out of this area. This is a bad drug area. They're all oh, they don't bother with anybody. But your new man I wanna thank him. He's very nice thing. I'm going to give him Damian's helping out. Yup. We're entering. That's my story. And I hope I don't attempt you have do you have a spiritual background. I'm I pray. But I don't understand a lot of the bible people. Try. Shove it down your throat and make you feel guilty and all this. And that's not right either. I would encourage you just any kind of believe it doesn't matter and being around people. That are nice people. I would encourage you to do that. I would challenge you to give it police. Go three times in doc. Let me ask you this. Joe? Thank you for the call. You know, we're here for you. How often is the attempted suicide a cry out for help? Very frequently. I don't I don't think I've ever seen specific details on that. But many times. Most people don't want to die. They want to end the misery. But they don't want to die just like both individuals that called, and they know that they can be helped. So there that's a positive. You know, it's frustrating when people don't get the availability of resources that that can help. Yes. That's not right. I think something should everybody should be held. Everybody could be helped and especially tools that they can even learned themselves. But when you. Yeah. Even even any kind of relaxation technique or or some tools to connect with others would put be helpful. And it's challenging if individuals are impaired in some way or are impaired incite. But.

"And welcome back to coast to coast, George Noory with you along with Pat Boone were taking your calls for the rest of this hour. And Pat, I want to thank you for donating your time and your voice for that coastal CD. I wanna thank you, George because I am so grateful to be part of it because I wanted to and I've looked for all the ways I could think of to try to pay are some of the debt we owe all these veterans I wanted I have gone to vets hospitals visited with him. But I feel handicapped because I don't play an instrument, and I can maybe seeing, but just me my voice, and no accompaniment sometimes I feel as a little hollow. But tried to organize a tour like Bob Hope and the USO, and I had entertainers willing to do it with me, and we were going to go up from hospital to hospital and use their auditoriums and entertain these people. These men and women who have probably been there for years in many cases in her utterly for. Forgotten. And after what they did for us. And and but I couldn't get the corporations or anybody to put up money just to pay the expenses ally. Lillian Ford Foundation some of these major corporations, but their answers were look we don't give to anything that can't become self sustaining. I said, well, how's it? Nobody's gonna make any money from this. Nobody wants to. Well, I just couldn't you know. I I can conceive of the idea and got everybody willing to do it. But I couldn't get it done. So this was a way singing in your album is an answer to my need not just desire, but my need to express my gratitude to these vets, and it's a wonderful album and my version of white Christmas with the tip of the hat to my idol Bing Crosby. And he knew that my version of white Christmas actually became the big hit in Japan. Because when went by the time, I recorded it bef- when I did record it being was not that well known in Japan and his music, but when my record, and I was having hit records did white Christmas. My version became the one that everybody in Japan hearing. So I apologize to being for that. But he he wasn't worried. Pat, my mother georgette in the Detroit area's one of your biggest fans, and I was talking to her last week and told her you're going to be on the show. And I said mom, you know, you had to call in and ask questions said, I sure well, so let's go to war right now. She didn't call and actually we called her and got her on the line. Hello, mom. I George how are you? You're on with Pat Boone, go ahead. Yes. Yes, ma'am. It's a president talk with you again. I know we've talked in the past. But this I think we weren't online. Now, we're over the air. I'm gonna issue. We're going to have to watch our language. Every time I hung up last time. I'd say, gee, Georgia. Didn't ask missing. You didn't ask them that next time? I'm gonna ask you something. I've always wanted us to I know you act, and I know you're saying if you had a choice between between what would you have done what between acting and singing? I really don't choose between. Because when I'm singing, I'm acting. I literally literally when I'm Sammy Davis told me, I was a one person show business. He couldn't imitate because he said, you don't have a hook. You don't have some little eccentricity some little gimmick that you do. All you do is sing the song. And I said, yeah, that is my gimmick. I just sing the song the way it was written and enact feel it and I acted in my as I'm seeing it. I mean every word it could be a lousy song. But if I'm seeing it I'm gonna mean it. And I think it comes through that way. So I'm not when I get in front of a TV camera or a movie camera. I'm just doing visually. What I've been doing. Recording wise my whole career. Two large one. Yeah. Your favorite song. You record a song? Well, I've asked that a lot and one, of course is April love because written for me. And and my wife's birthday is April twenty fourth and she has been my April love since we were both sixteen. But also, I love the song exodus for which I wrote the words this land is mine guy. This land rewrote those were the words Ernest goals. Melody, and it's now the second Jewish national anthem. Really there is a campaign underway that all Jewish kids in Israel. No those words. All right. So I of course, that has to be asked to rank right with April love super well. Mom. We're going to let you go. We got a lot of calls. Why did you tell Pat I'm going to be celebrating my ninety s and a few months here knows that. And we'll get you back on the air for that. I'm gonna quit calling you mom because we're almost the same age. She got more energy than I'll ever have pets. That's wonderful. Love your mom. You take care. Next next caller up. Let's go to Jerry in Richmond Kentucky. Hey, jerry. Welcome to the program. Go ahead. How you doing Pat? I'm doing great. Thanks, a I'm kind of an up and coming songwriter memo in my fifties. I've always kinda Dibble dabbled around. But it anyway. Serious song Christmas in Kentucky. Hey, just released it, so, but the more I learn about the music business more disheartened. I am nowadays. Everybody listens to music. The merchandising and the only way artists make music nowadays is you know, selling concert tickets and merchandise in the museum. The sideline free. And it is so hard to get a quality song heard played anywhere because the major corporations have a lot invested in the money's and the artists, and they and they're not interested in a new song from somewhere from somebody. They hadn't heard of. And so I I really empathize with you. I did a gun more Christmas albums than being did. And that sounds incredible. But I've also recorded more songs than Frank Sinatra or being. Just recently found this out, but I've been a recording fool because I've loved recording, and I've recorded all kinds of music and had chart records and country and gospel and pop and rock and roll and movie themes and record of spoken, word recordings and jazz. So I've spread myself so thin that my wife says Pat, people don't know who you are. Right. And and I, but I love it all however now, it's hard for even me with success. I've had to get any kind of a new song played on on the radio or any kind of radio. You get it played on our show. Pat, you want my listen, listen, I've already heard more music tonight a on your show, and I'm very grateful for what is it like to hear your own song? When you're listening to it. You're in the studio you've got headsets on right now. And and your song is being played to millions of people that tonight. But what what is it? Feel like for you to hear yourself. Well, it was an epiphany epiphany. The first time I heard my first record was such hard work. It was a recorded a rock and roll song called two hearts, two kisses and had to travel all over the country promoting it twenty cities in eighteen days because Frank Sinatra Doris day at both recorded the same song, and they weren't gonna hit the road and promote it like I did. So I did that it was back breaking and I got no sleep in. I thought boy if this is the record business, I can't live like this. But the next record was ain't that a shame which you played tonight, and it was fast Domino's song, and I recorded it, and and it became an instant million seller, and I was driving or being driven in a car across Manhattan one night in the late fall of that year. And there was a car with a bunch of teenagers in it. And they were listening to ain't that a shame as loud as the radio would play it. And I wanted to say to them. Hey, I that's me. I did that I didn't. But but that feeling that melted. Inside of me. Oh, this is what being a recording artist. Like I hear and see other people loving what I did in front of that microphone in that code studio. They're loving it. I want more of this. And so as I say, I became a recording fool, and I want to move into your studio here because I haven't heard April love sound. So good. It was great. Really it did here tonight. You start in that movie with Shirley Jones. We almost had her on tonight to say Hello to you. It was a little late. We didn't wanna call her or wake her up. But we had her in the studio where you are. Now Pat a couple of years ago with her late husband Marty. Yeah. And gosh, what a great actress and singer. She is really something special. She still looks beautiful. She still sings like, I do we both saying we still perform I don't know if she's recording. Maybe not I am. I still will make an occasional record because I can't quit, but she hasn't quit either. And you know, she, and I are the same age, and when we made that movie April love the word went around the world that I wouldn't kiss my leading lady. But it wasn't because I didn't wanna kiss Shirley Jones. I very much would like to have kissed. Sure. Such a decent straight. Well, but this is the thing was I was making movies to my own surprise. I didn't I didn't know that was going to be a kiss in the script. There wasn't a kiss in the script. But the director in relevent said when you get to the end of this musical number lean in and kiss, Shirley Jones lightly. I said on the lips. He said, yes, I said what? But this wasn't in the script. He said, no. But we want to see the leading man kissed the leading lady. And I said Henry can can we do this a little later in the film because I'm married to a girl named Shirley. And we haven't talked about my doing kissing scenes in the movies. I know how naive this sounds. But that's the way it was. And he laughed. He said, okay. We'll do it later. We didn't do the kiss. I came home. I talked to my wife Shirley about it. And she said, look, I'm ahead of you. I know if you're gonna make movies, you're going to have to do some kissing made me promise me one thing. I said what you won't enjoy it. I said I promise I won't enjoy you're an actor. That's part of the acting that I did I even when I kissed and Margaret in state fair. I didn't enjoy it. And if you believe that. Yeah. You kind of an island from you. Joe in the Bronx. Go ahead. Joseph George how I thanks Pat bone. Hi, it's put. Hi. Yeah. I my prayers are with your wife. Oh, good. Thank you. I wanted to ask you what he feels is the hardest song. Oh, what's the hottest song for you to sing vocally? And what was the most unusual song yourself? Too. Good question. Yeah. Did you ever have a hard song sink? Pat will. Yes, they some of them were hard. Then I didn't know it then because I had I had an innate singing talent. And whatever was put in front of me. I just sang it. I didn't question whether or not I could do it. However when I sang Ave Maria. I I was such a fan of Perry. Komo's an isolated that song particularly with Perry, which he would usually sing once a year. And it was put in front of me to record. And suddenly I felt if not unworthy at least ill-equipped to sing that beautiful song. But I heard my own record of Ave Maria recently in an album called the Lord's prayer. And I am in the gospel music hall of fame, which I'm proud of because I did about twenty five gospel albums, so eventually, of course, got around to Ave Maria. And it is it's not that. It's so hard to seeing melodic Louis, but is so special, and you you want to do it perfectly. And I must say as far as I can tell looking at myself analytically hearing my own song in my own voice. I think I did seeing it as well as it could be sung, even I would compare it with Perry like white Christmas. I compare with being because I put everything I had into them. And I did the best that good..
