"You know, maybe this will inspire some of the other PVC fighters to do things outside of the realm of what mostly has been done over the last few years. Yeah, PBC or any fighter. If you, if there's a fight you want, you've got power. Like you can push for it. Look what Stephen Fulton just did. Look what javonte Davis and Ryan García just did. Like it can be done. There can be cross promotional events that can get done. Real quick, do you have any reaction to adrien broner versus Hank lundy on pay per view in February? Replacing Ivan red catch. Do you have any reaction to are you more excited about that or Gigi's to vern? I'll put it that way. It looks like good reach to Verne is going to happen. I'm still not convinced broner and Hank lundy. How are they selling tickets to that? Who's I don't know. Jeez, there's so many things working against them. Good lie. And I know you've probably got being in the Philly area. You've met Hank lundy a bunch of times. I like hand Columbia a lot. Like he is a really light hammer and Hank. I saw him, I went down to do a story on broner in Colorado before his fight against Marcos Madonna. And Hank lundy was his sparring partner for that fight. And it was the most bizarre sparring session I've ever seen because Mike Stafford, the trainer for Adrian broner, just let them do like 18 minute rounds. So all they're doing in the ring is like wailing away at each other and talking shit the entire time. He's like, yeah, yeah. I hooked up with you a girl. I'll tell you a girl. I hooked up with your mom. Hooked up with your mom. It was like, it was wild, watching those two kind of go back and forth. So, you know, they'll definitely be some trash talk before the fight, but heck lundy's lost like what, three fights or something in a row, four out of 5, something like that, and broner. I'm not defending the fight now. I'm not supporting it in any way, but he actually gave Jose zapata a tougher fight than people realize when it was I think it was two fights before the paid of fought regions program. But it was a paid his first fight after the ranching fight, which was a knockdown drag out. Year. And I wondered, was it a reflection of his pay to not having anything left or Hank lundy having more left than people realize? But again, putting that on pay per view is just nuts and I don't know that it's going to happen for a variety of reasons, first I know broner's training. Well, he trained he put in an entire training camp and then the Sunday or Monday, but I think it was the Monday of fight week withdrew from the fight against our figaro junior 5 months ago and he pulled any set he wasn't in the right headspace to I mean, there are so many things working against this that may lead to it not happening. And let's just hope it doesn't. Honestly, because yeah, I saw you mentioned this is a paid a fight. I saw lundy fight Alex Martin in Texas. That was on an undercard.

"My scorecards are always perfect and everybody always agrees with me, so. Oh, me too. I wouldn't know the feeling. I wouldn't know the feeling on that. I never hear from his own watchers about the scorecards. All right, I want to jump into what's become a messy situation with a 140 pound title, at least the WBC's version of it. Just a couple of months ago, really one month ago now. We had Regis pro great win the WBC's version of the title becoming a two time 140 pound champion terrific performance in that fight against Jose pedraza. Excellent performance. And Jose. And he kind of looks, Jose is a penis, or I just saw pedraza. So looking at his future now, he was hoping to get a fight his next fight against José Ramírez. The WBC rules that the purse split is going to be 60 or 70, 30 originally in favor of Regis program. That was altered to be 65 35. Ramirez not happy with that. Has withdrawn from negotiations for that fight. The WBC has ruled that pro grade can take a voluntary defense, though I don't know who program would fight at this point. Nor do I think he wants a volunteer defense at this point. What do you make of Ramirez's decision to back out of this fight? It's disappointing. It's almost like they went into this conversation thinking 65 35, huh? Like they had no idea what was going on, which is just not true because the general consensus in the WBC mandatory fights is a 60. It is typically a 70 30 split. There are many occasions where they will amend the purse split and make it 65, 35. Occasionally they might boost it to 60 40 depending, but that's not the most common thing. And so people should, first of all, a couple of things about that, Chris. Number one, the purse split is just in the event that it goes to a person. There's nothing that says it has to be a certain percentage if the two sides during the course of their allowable time frame to do a private negotiation come up with whatever formula they come up with. So that was only in the event if the teams couldn't make the deal. So they had every opportunity to make a deal. As you mentioned, program I'm sure would be have been happy to negotiate with them and I feel like top rank, which is the promoter for José Ramírez would have been willing to negotiate a deal as well. So I kind of find that to be a cop out. They didn't go to a person. That doesn't feel like there was ever a true negotiation. Number one, number two, back before Regis progra got the opportunity to fight as a paid for the vacant title. The fight that had been ordered when Josh Taylor vacated was to fill that vacancy between José Ramírez and Jose zapata, which was which would have been a rematch of an extremely difficult fight that José Ramírez had when he was

"Right, just that fast, we are back, Dre, boxing. Boxing boxing boxing, not Kanye Kanye coming. Thank God. Again, in the beginning of the show, we mentioned all the boxing events coming up this weekend. We'll start with last weekend. We just probably grace versus Jose zapata on a pay per view. I'm not sure how many people bought it. It was the pay per view? Pay per view. Man, I don't pay for anything. On pay per view dot com. And fight TV. That's my homies that fight. I don't have to pay for anything. Everybody in fight got to watch that for free as well. So watching that. One, they had the Vargas brothers on it. That was cool. Yes. Yes. I had to watch them in case they come to top rank as well. Now that we have a million, they'll probably be a top rank. Might as well just get them. The whole family. It's like a DB three. I'm just going to start collecting families of boxer. So watch those fights cool Fernando Vargas junior gets knocked out. But that was there for the main event. Main event. Jose is a pet is good. I never thought he was like incredible. Yeah, no. No. He's had some good wins against him. People top ring may have thought was prospects. And then that's kind of pushed them into this position. All along, I thought the fight should be Regis for José Ramírez. Yes. But it was going to be. He's a pedophile. They were married to cut Regis all the way up. Thankfully for José Ramírez or for Ramirez, it was like he had to do a wedding. So Regis goes in, looks dominant throughout. Head movements incredible. The fighting skills are still there. I was worried because of how much time he fights or he spends not fighting. Because he has no promoter. And he has to do weird shit like this. Yes. It's caught in a pickle. But watching him fight and now he has the belt. Now it's like, all right, I can see why he was a two belt champion before. He hasn't lost anything. He doesn't have to go up to one 47. He's waited so long that a whole new crop of one 40 people are. To take on. His performance that night to me was wildly impressive. I think he has a shot gets everyone in this division. Teal female included. Yeah, I mean, he had a tremendous fight with Josh Taylor. Yes. This fell short. It wasn't like Jocelyn run away with that fight. It's a close fight. Reese's program without a promoter makes it very interesting what his next move is. I have a feeling. Well, that mandatory. Yeah, but I have a feeling that he's going to end up on black prime fighting Adrian broner. That'd be a great move for his career and for a bit of wire him the money. First. At this point, start there. Yeah, yeah. But no, the WBC is locked in. Because for better or worse, Ramirez got to be next or vacations. That's a great fight. And then they already named the winner of this teal female fight, a second mandatory. Yeah. So you're pretty much locked in the fighting top ranked people. And then if you get through that, all right, now you've run the gauntlet. Good luck. But they're doing anything and everything to get that belt over the top right. So great to have a promoter. It's going to be really tough. Reese's program has always been a good fighter with heavy hands. Like, he's got knockout power. He does everything pretty damn good. Josh Taylor, again, narrowly beat him. But other than that, I don't know who's going to beat Regis program at one 40. I think he gives everybody a problem. Yeah. He is that type of focus TO would be the best shot. Yeah. But even that, it's not an easy fight for TO. Nobody's going to have an easy time with Reese's program. No. Nobody. Nobody. So we'll see where he goes, but I know there's a lot. Black Friday probably won't do it next. It'll be a terrible idea because you locked in Adrian broner to a three fight deal. I have to use the quote fingers for those of you listening. Three fight deal. If that's your first fight, the Regis beats the shit out agent broner, what do you have left? Yeah, it's not great. So yeah, I don't know who Asian brown advice first, I mean, it looks like they're gonna announce it at the Crawford fight. For whatever it's worth, but it shouldn't be registered. Still don't know where they're getting this money. And I probably shouldn't know. You don't want this is one of those ones. You know, like you walk in and you're like, how'd that happen? You don't want to know. You don't want to know where this dope money came from. Yeah, yeah, so that's the fight from last week. So that was good. Rolling that into this weekend. Three vents. 'cause it's two fights and exhibition. Well, we briefly doing white one. Oh, he did. B Jermaine for Ireland and. Looks like. I thought he won, but it looks like, you know, you can fight Anthony Joshua again. AJ wants to tune up. Which is good? I think AJ needs it. He needs to confidence boost. He just saw a deli a white upper cutting to help. He's in a weird, like Anthony Joshua was not built for tune up fights. In his head. That's an AJ problem. Again, Anthony Joshua was the best resume in all the heavyweights. He's fought everybody. If you tell him, take a tuna fight, he'd be like, no. Right? He wants the best now.

"He knows his strategies. It's just, you know, when you lose, you got to blame someone. And that's how it is. That's how it is in boxing. Sometimes fighters and trainers, especially new pairings, don't work. I mean, the manual Stewart is one of the great trainers of all time. He was oil and water with Miguel cotto when they trained together. Freddie roach has worked with some great fighters. But him and Vladimir Klitschko wasn't the same as him and Manny Pacquiao. There you go. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. I do wonder if buddy and dillian are the right match. But to spin this forward, we're gonna get dilly and white versus Anthony Joshua. But I don't walk away from white Franklin thinking white Josh was gonna be competitive. I mean, even if it's a diminished version of Joshua, I think he's just gonna walk right through Dylan white. I don't know if you I think you're wrong, no. Really? No, I think but because Dylan white always. He's always in a good fight, even in his losses where he came up short. Maybe you accept for the Tyson Fury one, but again, Joshua, against wasn't really competitive fight against Joshua. But he was slinging the punches. He was yelling in them. It was an entertaining fight. There was interesting moments in that fight. And what was his other loss? It was Tyson Fury. Joshua, but that he came back and starched in. So and he was winning that fight against vivekananda. Exactly. So he's only lost on the championship level. So I think it'd be fights Joshua, you're wrong. And I think he brings that motivation and everything he learned from those championship losses and experience against a vulnerable, mentally, mentally vulnerable fighter in Joshua coming off a loss. We don't know what he's going to have. Yeah, man, I like that fight. I think if this was 5 years ago, I probably agree with you. But I think at 35 years old and having been knocked out in two of his last four fights, I think there's not a lot left, at least at the high level from Dylan white. A better fight this past weekend was Regis pro gray against Jose zapata. Progra for some reason has been just ignored by the major promoters. Like, can't get a deal with matchroom. Can't get a deal with top rank. Can't get a deal with golden boy. Before there's a pay to fight Sergio, he had fought one time in the last three years. Three times in the last three years. And I've always wondered why. This is an entertaining American power puncher. Like, why was this guy not welcomed into the club of top guys at one 35 one 40 and one 47. Then he goes out against the PETA and shows me why I'm right in a way because it was entertaining. He dominated and he had a spectacular finish at the end. I think right now. And one 40s is one of the best divisions in boxing. I think right now you can make the argument that the best guy at one 40 is Regis pro gray. He was nip and tuck with Josh Taylor, lost the close fight over in the UK against Josh Taylor. And then he goes out and just stops zape, a guy that's won some pretty high level fights over the last few years. Is Regis pro gray now, the man at one 40. No, he's number two. The man is Josh Taylor, the man is the man who I can be. The man that beat pro girls, I mean, it was a very close split decision. But look at Josh Taylor, another guy that's inactive and kind of going under the radar as far as coming off a bad win over cataract. We'll see but look at who he's fought his last 6 opponents have been undefeated opponents. What is a Jack cataract defeated Ramirez undefeated? Undefeated, Regis program defeated baron chick undefeated. That Martin character undefeated, Victor postal. Come on. That's a great, great resume. It does. You give me another undisputed champion or another champion that has that kind of a record back to back to back undefeated fighters. You're not getting it. So pro gray is the man at one 40. He's now a two time champion, and I agree with you how he's flown under the radar so long. I don't get it. I think Luther Bella promoted him to Bill Adam. So he did have a major promoter under a little bit one time. Lose a very big promoter, but he doesn't have the power anymore that some of the network TV deals. That's what it comes down to. Okay, the network right. So you know, there's so many networks I just think pro gray is he's a man that I really like I really like program, not only is fighting style but outside the ring the way he carries himself the way he's an excellent champion, I just think he's one he's a southpaw, a lot of promoters kind of like pushing other they try to avoid southpaws. It's hard to match them. And he just a damn good fighter, man. A damn good fighter that enter on a probably market of a move them well, but after this performance was a paid up, you can bet that people are going to allow everyone damn right damn right line up for the opportunity to fight him. And it's my understanding that José Ramírez and his team do not want to face pro gray in their next fight. I think there's going to be something a little softer for José Ramírez, but offer a while at this point. But if he passes, then you could be looking at pro Greg it's KFC mo Lopez in the first half next year. Daffy mo Lopez is next in line as mandatory challenge. I talked to a female this week and he said, if that fight is offered to him, if he beats sando Martine in a week, he will take that fight. And I hope he's right. I hope he top rank and everybody wants because that's another great thing. And it's a fight that can be made because progra wood is a free objectively afraid. It works. Okay. He's a free agent, so show them the money, ESPN, and top rank have the money. And him will be explosive. That would be a great fight. I mean, yes, sign me up for that one. And be a full bull title fight now that pro agrees a champion, so teal female is going to have all the incentive to actually have a chance with a hard punching very good southpaw that's now a champion. So I love that point. Bring it on. It's such a great division right now because you've got the guys that are there, pro gray, Taylor, Ramirez, Lopez. Then you've got the guys that are going to be there in the next 6 months to a year. Ryan García, Devin Haney, maybe some others at one 35. It's a fantastic division that I hope these fights all get made. I think they can be made because the politics are a little cleaner with some of this stuff. Yeah, but the question was, is he number one? And I say, no, he's not. Ruru is number two. Which is fair. I think it's fair. He lost the fight. And I don't think there's any real disputing we lost the fight. It was very close, but he lost that fight. All right, let's talk about some of the fights we have coming up this weekend. Tyson Fury is over in the UK taking on Derek dessert. He's gotten a lot of heat for this fight, Sergio. Like, he's gotten some criticism for taking on chisora. I don't really blame him for it because he did want to and tried to make the fight against Alexander usuk but usuk said, you know what? I'm gonna wait till early next year. Let's some injuries heal. There were discussions for a fight with Anthony Joshua, but come on. Making Joshua against fury in like 6 weeks didn't make any sense. You need Joshua to get a win and then next summer, if fury's undisputed at heavyweight and Joshua was on like a two fight winning streak, that still once again the biggest fight you can make in all of boxing. So I don't know about you, but I didn't have a real problem with chisora as furious. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. We did it in the episode of jabs when you asked me who should Tyson Fury stay busy with. I set your sore and he said, what, for what? I'm going to bring it up again. You can find it. But on an episode of jab in such a sora makes no sense, is that absolutely it makes sense. He always comes to fight. I mean, that's what you saw. People love him in England. He can pack out a crowd. It's a stay busy fight better than being inactive waiting for us. And I think some unknown Germans. And I did not shit, chat, past tense, shat on that matchup, and you said no, chasseur was old, he's already. He's already beaten him twice. No one wants to watch it. Now you're recanting. That's a word recanting what you said on jab. I'm gonna have bob a producer bring that up because on jabs, you shet on that fight. I said, no, man, stay busy, stay working. People love to soar and make sense until wilder Joshua or usyk become available and the gypsy king gets at that another a side a side versus a site. Fits the bill. You can have bob find the clip on your computer, which doesn't work. You're like hansel from zoolander with that computer.

He will attempt to regain a junior welterweight belt when he takes on Jose zapata in Carson, California. That's a fight that you can watch on pay per view and Regis joins me here on the show. Let me ask you first. I saw that before the media workout this week. Jose zapata was in a minor car accident. When you heard he was in a car accident, what was the first thing that crossed your mind? I was like, oh, lord, please don't let this fight, not having because he got the call right. That was my first thing like bro, really? He gets in the car right on the media day like this is like, this is crazy. So, but they told me everything was fine. He's good. So I was happy about that, but yeah, that was the main thing. I was just like, oh man, I just can't believe this happened. I'm out here. I don't want to fight to be called off. You know, I had a long camp and we all out here my team. Everybody's out here and if this happens in a feige called off, that'll be that'll be a disaster. Yeah, as you said this week, you basically been training for this fight for three years, so to have it called off would have been a catastrophe. Speaking of this fight, it has been more than three years since you lost your title and that unification fight against Josh Taylor. In your mind, why is it taking this long for you to get another shot? I don't know, man. Maybe it's maybe it was my team, it was a people around me. I don't know. I really don't know. I can't say why. It took this long. It shouldn't take this long. You know, like if you look at I was a champion, I was number one in the world. I was champion and number one in the world. And then, you know, I lost the belt and it took me all this time to, you know, to get back to it. And then you have somebody like José Ramírez, which, you know, he fought Josh Taylor. He lost his belt and then he fights. I think he fought for jaisa and then he's right back in line for the belt again. Like, right after one fight, I had to wait three fights, you know? So I don't know, man. Maybe it's politics, maybe it's like I said, maybe it was my team. Maybe people just don't like me. I don't know. I don't know what it was. I mean, to me, it's got to be politics, right? Because you're a very likeable guy, you're a very entertaining fighter in the ring. I think the one missing link is that over the last few years, you have not been aligned with a top rank with a golden boy with a match room. Somebody like that that where guys play the game and put them, put people like José Ramírez in that position. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. And I guess that's what happened, you know. But I'm just glad, you know, I'm glad it happened now. You know, I sacrificed for three years. I could have went to 47 a long time ago and, you know, I said, you know, my thing is I want to be a champion to get in at one 40. This is something that I just want, you know, something I have on my vision board, something that I just, I really, really yearn to have that is to be a two time world champion. But before I even think about anything else, I want to be a two time world champion. So I sacrificed, I had nutritionists and now I'm standing one 40. So why tell me more about why that was so important to you? Because you're right, you could have moved up to one 47. There was some talk a couple of years ago about you and Terrence Crawford potentially meeting at one 47. You were talking about and have fought a catch weights over the last couple of years. Why is it so important to you to get that second title reign at one 40? Oh, honestly, I just feel like I still should be a champion. That's all. I mean, with the whole job here, the thing I still felt like, listen, it was a close fight. And I won't say that, oh, I got robbed it up like that, because I did get robbed, you know, but I felt like, you know, I should still be a champion. That's just kind of how I feel like I did lose the fight and I should still be a champion. I feel like if the fight was here, and it was that close, I probably would have got the decision. So I felt like I should still be, you know, I should still be a world champion and it just kind of my personal history to be a two Time Warner champion. How much do you think back on that Taylor fight? Because, I mean, it was a very close fight. And you did have to go overseas to take that fight as part of the world boxing super series. Taylor went on to become undisputed, and you've kind of been trying to work your way back into that mix. Do you think often about that fight? It's like, yes, it's a yes and no thing. You know, like so for me, I tell everybody that my personal life is amazing, you know? So it's like, it's two different lives, like the box of life, and then the person you're like, like my personal life is way more amazing than my boss life. I really do Boston just because I really love the fight. I really really like the train. I really love boxes, but as far as the politics, you know, I really don't like all the politics and all the stuff that goes behind boxing. I don't like that, but I love the sport. I love the fighters. I love the history of it. I'm a historian. I read about boxing all day. I just love that about the sport, but as far as the things that go on behind the scene, I don't like that stuff. So I just boxed because I just, for me, I just bought it because I just, you know, I love it. I just loved it. I loved the sport. That's all. And so, yeah, I love it, but on the personal side, I'm always great. Was there professionally speaking, was there a really frustrating point for you over the last few years where you kind of wondered where maybe you wondered if it was ever really going to happen for you? It's a yes and it's a low question. Because for me, what I did, to get to the number one spot to get to be a world champion, what I did is I just worked man. I studied. I worked. I put my head down and worked. And so for the last three years, that's what I did. I just put my head down. I worked out, I mean, for the most part, every night I might say some things on social media, but for the most part, I just I shut up. I think a plane, I just put my head down and I worked and worked and worked. And I knew, listen, if I keep working, no matter if it take three years, four years, 6 years, I'm going to get that spot again. I'm going to get a shot again. And, you know, to put a belt, and I'm going to be a two time I'm going to be a world champion again. So it was like, yeah, it was definitely frustrating. And you know, the most, I think the most frustrating thing is that, listen, I thought of all the networks, I was making them for a long time for them. Stand up for the zone I thought I'm showtime many events all the time. And then as soon as you lose, it's like, it's like, they throw you away. Like literally, in boxing, they just throw you away, they put me on the cars. I'm like, you know, and I just say that. I didn't complain about it. You know, in my head, I'm like, all right, you know, but I didn't say nothing. I said, all right, all this, you're gonna see, because I will be a world champion again. And all the frustration is gonna come out. It really is Regis the worst part about boxing how they treat a loss or how promoters and networks often treat a loss because you look at UFC and I don't even know how many losses some of their main events guys have. Like how many losses Nate Diaz have and he's still a headliner. You are, you are, you have been a really compelling guy in the ring. Your fights are entertaining. So network should want to have you on more often. It was always perplexing to me. I know some have tried. I mean, I really wish and I'm sure you did that the hooker fight happened when it was supposed to happen before the pandemic. That would have been a great showcase fight with for you and probably would have propelled you

"There's a limit. There's a limit, man. These are natural one 68 and one 75 pounders. This is a 5 foot 8. Stocky explosive, great Mexican, but there's limits, man. There's limits. It would have better be of Smith would be, that's the limit. And that's a tough fight. And look, I'd rather, I'd rather him face go to Cruiserweight and face elanga junior, macabre than a Joe Smith junior or a better be of type winner because those are some legitimate one 75 pound monsters and it only takes one punch and both of them can crack. Both of them are the two of the biggest punchers in boxing. They don't need to hit you cleanly. They can hit you with half of this. And they're going to rock you like you've never been rocked before. That's the scary part about going up in weight that it only takes half a punch. They don't have to hit you clean. The idea that Canelo was ducking anybody is absurd. Just utterly absurd. And these guys can prove that they rubbish. They are worthy of the opportunity by finding each other simple as that. All right, let's talk about this weekend. On Friday, José Ramírez returns his last fight was in May of 2021 against Josh Taylor lost a close decision in a battle for the undisputed 140 pound championship on Friday. He returns, he's in Fresno, his home area, and he takes on a tough opponent in Jose pedraza a couple things here, Sergio. I was surprised that Ramirez stayed at one 40. Like he's kind of a big guy for a 140 pounds, sturdy stocky. I got a stocky, but well built for that weight. He stays at one 40 because he wants to get his titles back. And he's coming back against pedraza, who is not, this is not a give me fight. Jose pedraza is want to think three, four fights in a row since his loss to Jose zapata. He has been in with vasili lomachenko. He lost by knockout to javonte Davis, but he's faced tough competition. I'm a little concerned about Ramirez in this fight. Ramirez is surprisingly a big guy when he fought Maurice hooker and I sized them up. He's 5 foot ten. You know, and he's a big one 40 pounder. I think if he goes back down, he can pick up those straps again. He can be a force at one 40. One 47 can wait, there's still big money at one 40. Look at teal female Lopez. That would be a big fight. Huge fight if he can fight him. I mean, he can get a rematch with Taylor. I mean, that would be a big fight. But you don't think like Regis program, right? But you don't think that I'd love to see another fight with program. But I'll fight with progress. Teofimo, after he lost, was like, man, I shouldn't have stayed at one 35. Josh Taylor after he lost was kind of like, man, I probably shouldn't have stayed at one 40..
