Mark Levin Reacts to Bribery Charges on Sen. Bob Menendez
"Offices, you're going to hear from one of them. I'm not prepared to hang the guy and his wife based on what the prosecution says. That doesn't mean they're innocent. They can be guilty as hell. It just means I have a totally used to. Because all you're hearing and all that's produced, for the most part, is the legitimate case. Look at these texts we have. Look at these emails. Look at these conversations. Look at all that they've acquired. Maybe so. Maybe they're guilty as hell. I want to make that abundantly clear. But I don't know anything else than what the government has told us and what the media has regretted. I don't know another thing. Nobody does, do they, Mr. Perdition? Let's start. Let's take a listen. Cut one. This is the U .S. Attorney, Damian Williams. Go. Today I'm announcing that my office has obtained a three -count indictment of Senator Robert Menendez, his wife Nadine Menendez, and three New Jersey businessmen, while Elhana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Davies for bribery offenses. The investigation that led to these charges has been run out of the Southern District of New York. The indictment alleges that between 2018 and 2022, Senator Menendez obviously has obtained a three -count indictment. And so I'm surmising that the U .S. Attorney's Office in New Jersey handed it over to the Southern District of New

But Perkins says there are a couple of reasons the phrase pullback in consumer spending may not set off alarm bells. Consumers are spending in other areas though and when you look out at the Weezer hospitality and industry, travel, vacations. He says it looks like we're spending more on experiences than goods and that's kind of what was happening before the pandemic. But does this spell trouble for the holiday shopping season? We still think that there's enough powder for the consumer to spend relatively well at the holiday. It is, however, a return to more of the kind of spending This is Bloomberg Business Week. Capstone Conversation
Ed Del Beccaro Shares a Broker's Perspective on Economic Development
"Going to introduce Ed DelBaccaro of TRI Commercial Real Estate. Why are we talking to a commercial broker? Part of that is because for economic development to happen, there are multiple partners and a city has to get the perspective of a broker because they are the ones that look for not only the locations for cities, but the time to approve permits, the possibility of zoning and the problems zoning may. So I think you're going to find this an interesting take on how does a broker finding locations for clients, creating employment opportunities for cities. How do they want to work with cities and how could a city better work with that broker? Thank you for joining us on today's Capstone Conversation. Ed is the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Manager for TRI Commercial Offices. He is personally out of the Walnut Creek area, but the region serves San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose among everything in between those three cities. He specializes in office sales, medical, retail properties and mixed use space. He has over 40 years in the space. He is the vice chair of the East Bay Development Association. He is a board member of the East Bay Leadership Council, and he is a member of the Diablo Valley Tech Institute, among other things that he could talk about in his background. Ed, do you want to tell us a little bit more about yourself today? Thank Yes. you, Jared. As you mentioned, I've been in the real estate space 40 plus years, whether it's a commercial broker offering commercial record services, I've also been in the property management space where I ran a property management division, managed some of my own buildings. I also do project consulting, and I also do consulting to cities and some developers or tenants. So I went to school out here, stayed. I was a philosophy major, which is why I'm in commercial real estate, married with three kids and four grandkids. Great. And if our audience is wondering, why are we talking to a commercial broker today when we've been talking to mayors, city councilmen, chamber executives? Today is to get a broker perspective on economic development and the permit process. How could cities work with brokers? How can they partner with the real estate community to learn and better develop their cities into the best that they can be? That's actually a very good question. My day job is to assist companies in either relocating into our region or retaining companies. And the second part of the day job is to advise owners and developers where to invest and put their buildings. Where are the economic drivers going? What kinds of tenants and tenants are different? A insurance company is different from a bank is different from a life science is different from a advanced manufacturing. So there's all kinds of factors that go into that decision, whether you're the tenant, the user, or whether you're the developer owner who hosts the building. And it's not just I have a vacant piece of property or a vacant building, build it and they will come. So therefore, we live in the future as commercial brokers. We're looking at I just got off a Zoom call with a major hospital that I represent and we're talking about 225 and 230 timelines as to when we move and plan. And then what are the parameters and what is what do they need in terms of infrastructure and where? So we literally live two to five years down the road, which is the horizon of several of the economic development directors, so we can assist with that.

The indictment alleges that through that relationship the senator and his wife accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes in exchange for Senator Menendez using his power and influence to protect and to enrich those businessmen and to benefit the government of Egypt. Federal agents search Menendez's New Jersey home in 2022 where they say they found more than four hundred and eighty thousand dollars in cash some stuffed in envelopes and hidden in the senator's clothing. The Eric Metaxas Show
A highlight from Jose Hernandez
"Welcome to The Eric Metaxas Show. Did you ever see the movie The Blob, starring Steve McQueen? The blood curdling threat of The Blob. Well, way back when, Eric had a small part in that film, but they had to cut his seed because The Blob was supposed to eat him, but he kept spitting him out. Oh, the whole thing was just a disaster. Anyway, here's the guy who's not always that easy to digest. Eric Metaxas. Hey there, folks. Welcome back. In case you didn't know, there's a film. It's called The Hill, and it's starring Dennis Quaid. I don't know what more you need to know. It's starring Dennis Quaid. It's in 1 ,500 screens across the country. That's a lot. We have the director of this film, of The Hill, with us, Jeff Celentano. Did I pronounce it close? Celentano. Celentano. Celentano. Hey, Celentano. You grew up in New Jersey, correct? I did. Okay. So that's why you got a name like Celentano. That's just, it's an Italian name. But you, I want to ask you, this is a film about, you grew up in a small town, in a small rural town in New Jersey. A lot of people don't know that those exist, but they certainly do if you know the state of New Jersey. But this is a film about someone who grew up in a rural town, small town in Texas. And his name is Ricky Hill. That's why the film is called The Hill. And again, it's starring Dennis Quaid as the father of this athlete, Ricky Hill. But I just kind of ask you right out of the gate, Jeff, how did you find your way to directing this story? Because this is a story that I had not heard until I heard about this film. Yeah. Well, none of us heard about the story. Ricky was an obscure guy who never really told many people about his story. Dennis Quaid, when I hired him to play Ricky's father, said, I just read the script. Is this true? Did this kid really do this? This is like a miracle. I said, yeah, he did the impossible. And he said, how come I've never heard of this story? And I said, well, there's so many stories out there nobody's ever heard of. And so that's why we're telling this one. It needs to be on the big screen. So my brother was in a hotel room, sorry, in a hotel lobby. And he was talking to somebody in a meeting. And he overheard Ricky next to him, the real Ricky Hill, talking about his life story and how he couldn't find a director that he liked. He had been through like 40 directors. And he never felt they had the right honesty and heart for the film. And my brother leaned over and said, excuse me, sir, once he was off the phone, this is my brother on the phone. He's your director. Talk to him. And Ricky was like, my brother's very aggressive. And Ricky talked to me. And we just bonded. And he said, you have to read my story. I'm going to send you the script tonight. I read the script. I cried my eyes out through the whole thing. I was so touched that I have said this so many times, but it's the same every time. It got in my heart and has not left even today that I had to tell this story. It was like I was on a mission. I just never gave up. And so that's how it ended up getting made. But it took 17 years to get it funded. I had been funded four times. The money fell through every time. And the last time it fell through was six years ago. Dennis had already been hired. And I thought we were going to lose Dennis. And he called me and said, listen, I love this story. It's the best story I've read in 20 years. I'm on for life. As long as you can find a time span on my schedule, I will do the film. Well, now for people who are, you know, tuning in and saying, what is the story? Tell us what is the story? Because the story is about a little boy, eight years old, who was very poor. His father decided to be a minister and a preacher and travel around the country. And they got kicked out of a couple of churches because his father was very adamant about no smoking in the church and treating the church badly. Ricky would be very poor and go out on a railroad track and hit stones all day. But he wore bag braces because he was crippled from the hip down.

Welcome to the MMQB podcast. I am Matt Verteram, joined by Gilberto Manzano here. It is Thursday, August 24th, and that means we only have one week of preseason football up. We're all thankful for that. Gil, have you finished up your training camp tour? Are you done now, or you still got a few more you gotta hit? Yeah, no, I'm done, and when you said the date, Matt, I actually forgot what date it is today, so that tells me we're two weeks away from the real football season, so I am done with training camp. I don't know about you, Matt, but after like the fifth or sixth stop, I was over it. I saw enough, you know, kind of somewhat real football. I did check out a couple scrimmages, which felt like a little bit of real football, but before that I was like, I'm over the traveling. Let's just get to the Chiefs and the Lions for that. There's a night opener. Yeah, man, I went to eight camps. I saw nine teams because the Lions and the Giants had joined practice when I was up in Allen Park. The day that I woke up in Kansas City, I actually didn't know what city I was in when I woke up. I had like a two -second, I don't know if panic's the same. So, I'm done. I finished on Tuesday. I went up to Green Bay for the last one, which was kind of more of an add -on at the end. I had gone up there for OTAs to do a feature on Jordan Love, and I wanted to go back up there and visit with Matt Lafleur, and it was worth the six -hour round trip. It was a long, long bit of traveling one day, but we made it happen. How many camps did you get to over the course of the summer? I got to, I want to say eight, and I had like you with the extra one with the Saints. The Saints came to Southern California for joint scrimmage with the Chargers, so technically nine teams, but the way I think I did it was, I think it was five states. I drove to Las Vegas and Arizona, and then I flew to San Jose, Seattle, and Denver, and going from Seattle to Denver, that's the one I felt. But yeah, man, I primarily got the West Coast teams. I got, you know, eight teams. The ones that were easy was the ones in my backyard in LA, the Cowboys, the Chargers, and the Rams, but you know, after the, I got on the plane. You know, at one point I started thinking, I don't know how you did it, Matt, because you were driving everything. Me driving to Las Vegas and Arizona, that was too much. I couldn't do any more car rides after that. Yeah, I didn't fly for any of them. I'm based outside of Chicago. You're based in Los Angeles, so you, your teams are more sprawling for you. I mean, you're not driving to Seattle from LA. For me, the longest drive I had was Kansas City, which was like six and a half hours each way. So I did, I did make that happen. But luckily, like Chicago to Indy's not bad. Indy to Cincinnati's a couple hours. You know, it wasn't, wasn't too bad. Look, we're going to get into Trey Lance. We're going to get into, there was an injury at Broncos camp earlier today before us recording with Jerry Jeudy, with what appears to be a hamstring injury. We'll talk about that a little bit. But I, I want to ask you, so the eight teams you saw, or the eight practices you was the most impressive? And was there a team that stood out to you, either good or bad, that you were kind of surprised by? Yeah, it's a tough question, man, because I was thinking that because I got, I got a good balance of really bad teams from Arizona. I saw our guy, Connor Orr, had him at one and 16 for the, for his win -loss record, a story that came out today. So they, they, they looked like they're going to be really bad. And it was tough for me to figure out who's who on that roster. So I got that. And then I got all the really good teams, like the 49ers, you know, I'm high on the Seahawks, you know, that from our doing our, our midsummer prediction, by the way, that was tough. We had to pick our Super Bowl teams in what, like April or May we're going to do it again. And I'm so happy about that, but the Seahawks look good. I like the Cowboys a lot, but every year it's the same thing. Like they get far and they don't get past the second round. So I can't commit to them. Same thing with the Chargers. They just don't go far. Like they're really hyped to have a lot of good players. So I keep going back to the 49ers because they've shown to me to at least get to the Super Bowl, or at least make it to the NFC title game. And then Brock Purdie being healthy. That to me was all I needed to see to say, you know what? I like the Seahawks, but I'm going to leave that bandwagon and go to the 49ers. Do you believe in Purdie? I mean, look, obviously you believe in him enough that you're, you're, you're high in the Niners, but you know, they'll roll with Purdie, which we knew they would, if he was healthy. Lance is the third string guy. And I know you wrote a piece on trail, Lance, we can get to him in a little bit here. The roster's stacked. I don't think anybody questions that. I mean, they have all pros literally in almost every single meeting room. They, they, they have guys everywhere. They have a very good head coach in Kyle Shanahan, but they've been a team that they haven't found their quarterback or at least they haven't proven to have found their quarterback yet. They went to Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo, of course, now with the Raiders, who you saw as well during your tour.

The Charlie Kirk Show
Fresh update on "jose" discussed on The Charlie Kirk Show
"Your thoughts on Bob Menendez, what's really going on here, Darren Beatty? Well, it's certainly interesting to see a high profile Democrat actually indicted for these particular types of charges in the behavior itself is relatively commonplace in it. But it's not lost on anyone looking at this, the parallels and similarities between what Menendez is charged with and what the Biden family has been up to for a very long time. And so there's one theory that would say this is sort of escalating the pressure on the Biden's by creating an actual precedent for indictments or teeing things up for Biden, although the inside baseball could be such that there's something going on completely in parallel. I think, generally speaking, what we can be assured of is these types of indictments don't happen because, oh, they just found out about these people doing illegal things. This has been an open secret for a very, very long time. The fact that Menendez is being indicted now means that he's either expendable at this point, or is counterproductive, or it's somehow useful to the regime for a larger purpose, for instance, maybe teeing up indictments for Biden or putting pressure, additional pressure on the Biden's to push them off the table for 2024. Indictments like this are not what people think. It's like, oh, there's finally accountability, has nothing to do with accountability. Accountability is the afterthought. Accountability in the regime is the collateral damage. That's one way to put it. Accountability from the regime's perspective is the collateral damage of a strategic move that will strengthen the regime's position in its own thinking. It is also a reminder to all other 99 senators that the administrative state runs the country, that the fourth branch of government is in charge. Darren, what should happen on 930 and what do you think is going to happen on 930? Well, I think it's just a matter of wait and see. I'm not prepared to speculate that. We just have to wait and see. And keep in mind the context that I've been describing is that accountability is the collateral damage. Everything is about the strategic moves of the regime and how they're positioning themselves for 2024. It's actually an interesting strategic conundrum that they have with the number of moving parts. They've proven themselves to be very effective in the past. And so we just have to see whether the machine, which is still well oiled, is as efficient as it once was as recently as four years ago. Darren Beatty, check out Revolver.News. Great job. Thanks so much. Thank you.I want to summarize our time together today by just kind of recapping the week. It started at Northern Arizona University and it's just amazing how the media lies and misrepresents. You know, I've been doing this for quite some time. For the last three years, do you know the problem that we've had at Turning Point USA? We have not been able to find rooms big enough to fit all the students that want to attend our campus stops, especially last semester. Ohio State packed hundreds of students we had to turn away. Even at UC Santa Barbara had to turn away students all across the country. And yet the media comes up and they all of a sudden say, oh my goodness, they say Charlie Kirk gets heckled. He's not very good at this thing. These are dishonest people. And I'm sure the media will cover all of Santa Jose State, UCF, Albany, Buffalo, Georgia Tech. I'm sure that they're going to cover all the response we receive at Arizona State University. You guys know this, but when you really experience it on a daily basis, these are bad people. The media, they are co-conspirators in the downfall, the destruction of the greatest nation ever to exist in the history of the world. They don't care about truth. They care about power. They do not care about honesty. They care about revenge. These are bitter, broken, bad people that happen to have a keyboard. It makes them important because they think they can control you and crush you. Thankfully, we do not bend a knee at the golden calf of the New York Times. Thanks so much for listening everybody. VUX World
A highlight from UX Design with LLMs, with Braden Ream, CEO, Voiceflow
"All right. Hello, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Welcome to VUX World. I was going to say, all right, all right, all right there. So I've kind of been slipping into and someone pointed out that it's a Matthew McConaughey quote. And so for some reason I just slip in. All right, all right, all right. Hello, welcome. But hello and welcome to VUX World. Today you'll notice I am wearing my trusty Voiceflow cap because is today Voiceflow CEO Braden Ream's third appearance on VUX World. We go way back and today is going to be an epic conversation. We're going to be discussing large language models and the future of conversation design and the future of AI application design and the future of Voiceflow. I'm looking forward to that coming up in just one minute. But before that, I need to give a shout out to our presenting sponsor today, Tideo. Tideo is a conversational AI platform that specializes in catering and providing for small to medium sized retailers. So if you are a retailer, maybe you're running on something like Spotify, maybe you're running on something else, and you want to look at ways in which you can utilize artificial intelligence, then you should check out Tideo. It's got a live chat platform plus conversational AI capabilities. It's got a lot of pre -built intents, pre -built conversations around order check -in, product availability, shipping status, returns, all that kind of stuff. And it is answering somewhere, what is the figure? It's four out of five customer questions it's answering successfully. So if you want to benefit from artificial intelligence, but you don't want to put in a whole load of groundwork, time and effort, and you want to get to market a little bit faster, then you should check out Tideo. You can, if you want to, go to tideo .com forward slash V -U -X and there you will find a promo code where you will save 20 % if you were to go and join today. That is Tideo, T -I -D -I -O .com forward slash V -U -X. Thank you, Tideo, for partnering and sponsoring V -U -X World. Now the other thing we definitely need to discuss is, it's coming around so thick and fast, I can't believe how fast it's coming around. It is the Voice and AI Summit in September. It's at the beginning of September from the 7th, sorry, from the 6th through the 8th, and it is going to be absolutely immense. We are going to be in Washington, D .C. for the Voice and AI Summit. For those of you who are familiar with the Voice Summit, you'll be familiar with the event. It's been slightly rebranded, it's now focusing more on generative AI, large language models, that kind of stuff. Last year we had a track there, we had a stage, it was absolutely immense. We were focusing on enterprise application of AI, and today, not today, but in two weeks' time, we'll be doing the exact same thing. The V -U -X stage will be back and we'll be looking at how large enterprises, including some large banks, including some big insurance providers, including some big healthcare companies, how are they utilizing this emerging technology in the enterprise today? And if you were to do something similar, how can you do that? Effectively, responsibly, and with a high degree of quality. Now, speaking, you can go to voiceand .ai, the website is, and you can get your tickets to find out more there. So speaking about utilizing large language models effectively, let's welcome on today's guest, Braden Rehm. Voiceflow have just raised another round of funding, another $15 million to put into growing and scaling the platform, and so I'm delighted for Braden to join me for the third time on V -U -X World. Welcome. Well, welcome myself. Yeah, excited to be back, third time. Wow, Patrick. And now I'm wearing the Voiceflow hat, which I was lovingly given at UNPERS in July. Thank you for partnering with us for that event. It was absolutely fantastic to see you and the team over here in the UK, and to support the first in -person conversation design conference in the world, which was absolutely fantastic. And now I owe you one of these for your hat trick. Your third appearance on V -U -X World gets you the yellow V -U -X cap. Very exclusive merch, this, Braden. So I'll be bringing this across the pond to Washington to present to you at the Voice and AI Summit. So there you go. Love it. Yeah, no, it was an awesome conference. Thank you for putting on UNPERS. We're excited to be back next year. Definitely, definitely. It was really good, actually. I don't want to overly plug our own events and stuff like that, but it did have a very nice communal feel about it. It was really great content, good vibes, good afterparties, which are also very important. And yeah, looking forward to it. Can't wait to have you along next year. We have some people tuning in. We've got Paul Cutzinger. Shout out to Paul. He says, hello, party people. Jose Burgos, how are you from Austin, Texas? Hello, how are you from Austin? There you go. Hi from Portugal. Elson, welcome from Portugal. We are truly global -ridden right now.

"To be sure there's not a deal to be had yet it just is making more headway in those talks pretty close to how Shawn Fain put it earlier today we still have serious issues to work through but we do want to I recognize that Ford is showing that they're serious about reaching a deal at GM and it's a different story a different story and that's where we begin with David Eston who joins us from world headquarters in New York the host of Bloomberg Wall Street Week and our dear friend here on Bloomberg Sound On and also a native of Flint Michigan right David it's Flint your dad worked in the car business you've lived this before but it feels kind of different this time David make what of this playing the automakers against each other or is that actually getting back to old -fashioned union negotiating boy you took the words out of my mind yeah exactly my dad was a AC spark book my father with my grandfather was at Buick actually and they were saying this is a stand -up strike we're going after all three just selective plans but now it's starting to feel like sort of a mix with pattern bargaining as we used to call it back in Flint Michigan which is they go after one automaker and then they get a deal with them and then they roll the other one so it looks like they're sort of going to a version that of now to try to get a deal out of Ford that they really like a lot because as you say they went through a lot of things not everything by a long shot as Kaylee said but some things they got cost of living adjustment they eliminated some tiering they got some job security they're feeling better about Ford so good for Ford I guess mm -hmm well and David it really at some point we're not there yet is going to come down to not what it took to get a deal but what the ramifications of that deal once it's agreed ultimately are and I I know you know were kind of talking about the longer -term impact of this with Steve Ratner for Wall Street week this week exactly he's going to be on Wall Street week later on this evening and first of all he said this is the toughest one he's ever seen of course we know Steve addition in to being a will it advisors where he invests Mike Bloomberg's money in additional was the cars are to so speak who really presided over the remaking of the auto industry and he said this is the toughest was ever seen at the same time we asked him what are the unintended consequences the collateral consequences that might come out of this is part of what he said the unintended consequences are what happens to the number of jobs not the price paid for each job the yin and the yang of this and it's a tough one is that the more the auto workers get paid and more the fewer jobs are going to be that's just the inevitable result of this if you look for example back uh... since two thousand and nine at the number of jobs have moved to mexico and the fact that there are now more auto jobs mexico than there are in the united states it tells you something about how capitalism for enterprise it finds the lowest cost locale that can meet its needs so that's steve ratner saying there are larger forces even than the u a w and g m stellantis and ford and it's not just those parties of of course we have uh... tesla motors whose benefit is they don't have any unions you've got all the other model makers makers and the possibility of jobs moving away from some of the union locations to places like mexico but also some uh... right -to -work states here in the united states so it's a more complicated thing than sometimes we realize it sure sure is david is does this mean that you know i must get something to worry about if they score generous deals with all three of the big three is tesla next and that's a great question they gotta organize them first they can't strike them before they organize them i actually know about... Well no, I mean could there be a union organizing effort at tesla i realize they're in texas but they've got plants in a lot of places i'm sure they'd love to do that and if you recall president biden kind of encouraged that at one point when he was really freezing out elon musk do you remember with that some with gatherings at the white house because they don't have unions i'm about halfway through the the walter isaacson book he's going to be on wall street week next week talking about it and that would be an interesting confrontation because boy elon musk is one tough son of a gun no doubt well also if you're the biden administration trying to push evs you need the for structure and tesla supercharger network is going to be really critical if you want to keep electric vehicles on the road and moving about uh... the countries so this also is about just this wider ev transition which is a policy priority here in washington david but it's kinda make or break for some of these automakers at this point right and they're sort of caught in between a little bit right kelly uh... as you because know shawn fein has actually pointed back at the white house saying part of the reason we're having a lot of problems is because you're pressed for evs because you take something like forty percent less workers to make an ev no matter what the labor terms are no matter what their contract is so they're sort of pushing back on president biden but they gave him an opportunity today to join them on the picket line you heard shawn fein saying we're welcome we welcome the president to join us on the picket line we'll see whether that happens well you know i'm curious you what make of this push and pull here with the politicians david we know donald trump's going to speak to these members not an official u a a u a w event in fact shawn fein denounced that visit but we're seeing some real jockeying now between democrats and republicans to try to win over organized labor in the midst of uh or guess i early stages of a campaign cycle here but joe biden says the friendliest union president in history why doesn't he show up well and as you know so well joe this goes way back well way asked for these particular dispute you recall what happened in michigan back in 2016 when reports were she knighted that hillary clinton refused to go there i actually went out to willow run which is outside of where detroit president trump when he was a new president was actually at the beginning of february went out workers in a very cold airport hangar and i'll tell you he's been reaching out to those autoworkers forever he said said to them you know you've been the building of america you've been the backbone well you have not been respected i will respect you so he's been courting those autoworkers for a while that's going to be an interesting contest between joe biden and donald trump pro autoworker yeah and there's still an endorsement left to be given david just quickly final minute what else do you have coming up on wall street wheat this evening well we've got larry summers as you might expect he also addresses this question but he also thinks that the fed is way too optimistic in his projections that we heard we also have jose manaya who runs nouveen and he gives us a playbook for esg as you know a lot of funds are pulling back on esg we ask him he's got 1 .3 trillion dollars is responsible for are they pulling back so that's all coming up on wall street wheat that's great well we're always watching david that's when we know our weekend has begun when david weston graces the airwaves on bloomberg tv that's what we sit back and watch smoothly guides us absolutely yes david good to see you happy friday we'll be watching wall street week it comes right after balance balance of power six p m wall street time on bloomberg tv and radio with kaley lines i'm joe matthew in washington this is bloomberg sound on it's just us and the tumbleweeds as lawmakers head home for the weekend this when you get your news from bloomberg you don't just get the story you story behind the story how your evie's battery may not be as green as it seems why a decrease global in birth rates could send countries scrambling to increase immigration you get context context changes how you see things how you change things because context changes everything go to bloomberg dot together we have the opportunity to build

A highlight from You're 'Running Out Of Time' To Stack These 5 Altcoins | with Jos (Delphi Digital)
"Yo, what's up, everyone? I have Jose from Delphi back here on the show. If you watch part one, you guys would know today we are going to be discussing more of the degen Altcoin stuff going into interesting topics like, you know, roll bit, gamble fight, trading bots, uni bot, all that sort of stuff as well as some of Jose's topics. So welcome back, although it's only been one minute in the real world and let's kick it off. So thesis first I wanted to get your opinion on was this tweet that you did. You said over a long enough timeline, all centralized exchanges will fade into irrelevance and become glorified on the slash off ramps. Pretty strong words, actually. You said the vast majority of trading activity will happen on DEXs, overzealous regulators will just accelerate this transition. Do you want to elaborate a bit on that tweet? Yeah, like I, yeah, I think the future is, at the very least, like non -custodial exchanges. So where you like similar to do IDX or Vertex, where you might have an off -chain order book, but the trading is non -custodial. It's just kind of like, I think, inevitable. It'll take a while for both the tech to get there and then the trust in the tech to get there, right? But yeah, I think it's inevitable because it's like a better system. Like you don't need to give, there's no reason why an exchange should have custody over your assets in order to allow you to trade there, right? Like if you can trade according to rules defined in smart contracts, then like there's really no need to give up custody of your assets. So that applies to like derivatives and spot. So I think, and then also from a regulatory perspective, I just think that regulators are gonna be kind of going after centralized exchange. Centralized exchanges are like one of the easiest places for regulators to go after, right? They have a lot of money. And as we've seen with Binance and then Bitrex and these kinds of enforcement letters, like I just think it's gonna be like the biggest targets that the regulators go after. And in doing so, they end up pushing people more and more towards like decentralized exchanges. And then I think you're gonna have on and off ramps and like crypto native neo banks, right? That serve as the connection point between fiat and the crypto world where you can go on and off. But then in terms of like your trading venues and stuff, I think the most successful ones will be decentralized in future. And I think prices probably will. You mentioned decentralized, sorry, you mentioned centralized regulation. Do you worry about DeFi regulation as well? I know it's hard to regulate, but like, yeah, is there some sort of future where things are just like flat out IP band, I guess, in like multiple jurisdictions for DeFi? Yeah, I think DeFi is much harder, like properly built DeFi is much harder to regulate in that way, right? Like if you build, and it depends exactly how things are built, but like, I think if I built the right way, there is no one you can subpoena to shut it down, right? Like there's not like a Binance you can go after and say, hey, you've been serving like Hamas or whoever they were, whoever they were laundering money for. You guys need to stop doing that immediately. And it's like, well, if it's a smart contract and you've handed over the keys to governance, then it's like, if you want me to stop, you have to make a governance proposal. Like the SEC would have to propose to the Dow that they stopped doing whatever they want to do. It's really the only way. That's pretty funny to think about. Gary gets all like clicking except on his menopause. Yeah, exactly. I mean, that's the end game of well -designed DeFi, I think. So I think that the kind of weak link there still is like the front end and to some extent, like the backend, but I think there are solutions coming up for that too. Like Arbit is super interesting, but I think even absent Arbit, like stuff like Liquidy just makes it like, so Liquidy's model for those who aren't familiar, it provides like a fee at the smart contract level to front end operators, right? So you can stand up a front end and you get paid per, I think in their case, it's part of the interest for standing up a front end and serving users. And I think every exchange or decentralized exchange will eventually like adopt a similar model where, and you can also like open source your front end, right? And dockerize it and make it very easy for anyone to deploy. And at that point, it becomes like as hard to stop as Tor. You have these smart contracts running permissionlessly on the blockchain. And then you have a bunch of people all around the world running front ends for it and like a free market, basically of people being paid fees to do that. And so I think like, yeah, properly built DeFi is both very hard to regulate practically and also doesn't fit into regulatory like definitions and like, and this, yeah, like the kind of principles that regulations exist for.

A highlight from 1370: Why You MUST Own at least 1 Bitcoin - Jack Mallers
"Welcome, everyone. In today's episode, I'm going to be breaking down the latest technical analysis, as well as MicroStrategy marks three years of holding Bitcoin with four and a half billion dollars in Bitcoin and company stock, literally up two hundred and ten plus percent. We'll also be discussing PayPal executive says that their new stablecoin will be made available for DeFi in the future, as well as Bitcoin as a ticking time bomb set for historic expansion, as rare indicator sends a signal. I'll be breaking this down for you. We'll also be discussing breaking news of fun. Strad investor note says Bitcoin can hit one hundred and eighty thousand dollars before the upcoming block reward, having scheduled for April of twenty twenty four. We'll also be discussing the top reasons why the Bitcoin price will smash a million dollars per coin, as well as why you must own at least one Bitcoin right now. We'll also be taking a look at the overall crypto market, all this plus so much more in today's show. What's good, crypto fam? This is first and foremost, a video show. So if you want the full premium experience with video, visit my rumble channel at CryptoNewsAlerts .net. Again, that's Crypto News Alerts .net. And welcome, everyone. Just tuning in. This is Pod episode number thirteen hundred and seventy. I'm your host, JV. Today is August 13th, twenty twenty three. Kicking off today's episode here with our market watch, we can see Bitcoin still holding strong onto twenty nine thousand four hundred, but slightly consolidating for the day. We also have Ether barely back in the green, trading above eighteen hundred and fifty dollars, along with BNB and XRP also in the green. And checking out CoinMarketCap .com, the current crypto market cap sits at one point one seven trillion dollars, with about 17 billion in volume in the past twenty four hours, with the Bitcoin dominance at forty eight point seven percent and the Ether dominance at eighteen point nine percent. And checking out the top one hundred crypto gainers in the past twenty four hours, we have room lead in the pack up twelve percent, trading at a dollar thirty seven, followed by a ton up about seven percent, trading at a dollar forty three, followed by Pepe up four and a half percent and checking out the top one hundred crypto gainers for the past week. Mostly, I'd say we got a few in the green, but also probably equally as much in the red. Some of the biggest losers include Koss and Bone, with some of the top gainers for the day, the same as the week with Tun, Rune and Pepe. And checking out the Crypto Greed and Fear Index, we're currently rated a fifty four neutral, same as yesterday. Last week was a forty nine and last month was a sixty in greed. So there you have it. How many of you are currently bullish on the king crypto and have been taking advantage of this recent dip? Let me know in the comments right down below. And now let's dive into today's Bitcoin technical analysis and see what's happened with the continuous sideways trading action. Most of the alts are also quiet today on Sunday, similar to how they perform yesterday on Saturday, except for Rune and Tun taking the lead. Now, the past few weeks went in a rather unventful fashion for typically more volatile crypto asset. This past Monday saw some movements as Bitcoin dipped below twenty nine thousand to mark the weekly low. However, it went on an offensive almost immediately and had surged past thirty thousand by the time Wednesday came. But that was short lived. More volatility was expected on Thursday when the US CPI numbers were set to come out. Yet that wasn't the case. Bitcoin remained at just under thirty thousand, where it had retrace hours just before that. And then the following days were quite stagnant. Once again, Bitcoin stood still within the same tight range of between twenty nine and twenty nine five. And expectedly, the weekend didn't provide anything different, given the typically lower trading volume. So there you have it. I mean, it's been very boring sideways trading action. Nothing new. But I feel once we can break thirty two, we're likely to continue marching on up, breaking the annual high. And there's not much resistance between thirty two and forty. So do keep that in mind as well. Now for the latest regarding the first publicly traded company to put Bitcoin on their balance sheet, which is MicroStrategy. They're still holding their four and a half billion dollars worth of BTC. Let's break this down. As you can see here, it's been three years since MicroStrategy first accumulated their BTC. Michael Saylor spearheaded the strategy of making Bitcoin their primary Treasury Reserve asset, directing the firm to buy twenty one thousand four hundred and fifty four BTC for two hundred and fifty million at an individual price of roughly eleven thousand six hundred dollars on August 11th of 2020. That's when it all began. Now, in the up and down years since MicroStrategy continued to consistently invest in the top crypto asset, becoming the largest institutional holder of Bitcoin. And as of July 31st, the firm holds one hundred and fifty two thousand eight hundred BTC acquired for a total cost of roughly four and a half billion dollars at an average individual price of twenty nine thousand six hundred and seventy two. So they're roughly at their break even point. Interestingly enough, now Saylor was MicroStrategy's chief executive when the company first bought Bitcoin, but now serves as its executive chair after stepping back from the CEO role last year. The MicroStrategy stock is up more than two hundred and ten percent since August 10th. So keep that in mind. And that since 2020, the day before it made the announcement to purchase Bitcoin, MicroStrategy is currently priced at three hundred and eighty four dollars per share, according to Market Watch. And it hasn't been an entirely smooth ride. However, keep in mind, MicroStrategy is down more than 70 percent from the three year high of eleven or one thousand three fifteen, which it hit on February 9th of twenty twenty one, referring to the stock right as Bitcoin was in the midst of that ascendant bull run. And in June of twenty twenty two, MicroStrategy faced concerns it would receive a margin call on a Bitcoin backed loan, though those fears never materialized and seemed to be nothing more than FUD. And in a margin call, a trader or investor is required to put up more funds to avert the closure or liquidation of a leveraged position. And I think when those FUD rumors were coming out, Michael Saylor said unless the Bitcoin price dips all the way to three thousand, we are not getting liquidated because they had more assets to back it. So it was nothing more than FUD at the end of the day. But very interesting. I think MicroStrategy will continue being one of the largest huddlers of Bitcoin in the world. They're second in line to Grayscale, which controls over four hundred thousand BTC. And at this time being there's no spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States. The next best closest thing is to owning MicroStrategy stock. And of course, Michael Saylor is very bullish on that. Now, let's discuss the latest regarding the PayPal stablecoin, which is titled PYUSD. They've been announcing some plans for DeFi. And we also had some analysts recently come out predicting due to the launch of the PayPal stablecoin because their audience is so large, hundreds of millions of people that use PayPal on a regular basis, active users, that it can send the Bitcoin price to a quarter million dollars per coin. That was a prediction from Charlie Shrem. I covered a few episodes ago. If you missed that, be sure to check that out. Now, an insider from PayPal says the firm's new stablecoin will ultimately launch on DeFi platforms sometime in the future. In the new interview on the Unchained Pod, Jose Fernandez, PayPal's senior vice president of blockchain, crypto and digital currencies, told the host Laura Shin that the firm intends for their stablecoin, which was launched earlier in the month, to be available on crypto exchanges and compatible with the DeFi ecosystems, quoting them here. I think DeFi will be a part of the first wave in the sense that we want to go where crypto users are using stable coins today and DeFi as a use case for that. So as of today, you can only get the PYUSD on the PayPal wallet. We are ramping up the product, but definitely the intention is that it will be available in the main exchanges. And when the distribution is available, then the folks will be able to use it for the traditional use cases. The Ponte goes on to share that their stablecoin is already compatible with Ethereum wallets as it is technically an ERC20 token, ultimately meaning on the Ethereum blockchain, and that it's fully backed in compliance with New York regulations. Quoting him again, the stablecoin PYUSD is an ERC20 token. It's deployed on the Ethereum blockchain and it can be sent outside to wallets that enable ERC20 tokens. Now, there is definitely an aspect of it that has to do with being fully backed and regulated as a stablecoin. As you know, we are issued out of New York. Paxos is the issuer and the token is approved by the New York Department of Financial and Security New York has very clear and strict requirements in terms of KYC, know your customer, and anti -money laundering provisions that require the ability to be able to have the right control in place. So there you have it. And to watch this entire interview, they did check the show notes below the video in the description. I will give you a little disclaimer. I do not trust PayPal as far as I can throw them. I had a lot of people ask me, where can I get the stablecoin? It seems currently only available on PayPal, but I wouldn't be holding it. I'd prefer the real thing, which is Bitcoin the only decentralized crypto asset because PayPal, just as they can freeze your funds and freeze your PayPal account. They've done that to me before in the past, probably like a decade ago back in the day. They could also freeze your stablecoin the same way because all it is is a digital version of the dollar. So that's not so enticing or exciting to me. But the reason it's fruitful and bullish for the entire industry, it can help usher in that mass adoption, considering PayPal has hundreds of millions of active use active users. That's why this is a pretty bullish story. But anyways, now let's talk about the ticking time bomb, followed by one hundred and eighty thousand dollar prediction from Fundstrat at the time of the halving less than nine months away. And then I'll be sharing the latest and greatest from the one and only Jack Mallers and why you should own a Bitcoin and why the Bitcoin price is trending towards seven figures. Let's break it down. And yeah, if you're just joining us, make sure to say hello in the live chat. Don't be a stranger, as this is a live and interactive show. But yeah, let's break this story down. As you can see, while he followed analysts as Bitcoin is gearing up for a historic move to the upside, now that has rarely seen the indicator has flash. This anonymous analyst known as Credible Crypto shares that Bitcoin is going through a period of record low volatility or a compression phase, which he says will ultimately lead to historic expansion. Send it. Let's go. He shares a chart, which you can see here, along with fellow analyst tech dev who points out that Bitcoin's three week chart is approaching compression levels that previously signaled the start of the bull markets since 2012. Quoting credible here, historic compression leads to historic expansion. Imagine looking at this chart and thinking, yeah, ten thousand dollars incoming, a ticking time bomb till bear extinction. BTC. That's what's up. Now, while many Bitcoin bulls have lost confidence due to the Bitcoin uneventful price action, credible says Bitcoin is simply consolidating, which should be considered bullish, quoting him again, seeing a lot of if we are so bullish, why aren't we moving up? The bulls don't have the strength to push the price higher. This is bearish. But when the price is moving sideways, it means that neither bears nor bulls are in the driver's seat. Consolidation is, by definition, neutral buyers and sellers have reached an equilibrium. Now, nine out of ten times consolidation structures resolve in the direction of the trend that preceded them. We have been in a very clean, obvious uptrend since fifteen thousand dollars. So by default, then one should expect this consolidation over the last month to resolve to the upside. And he continues, your default stance on Bitcoin here should be bullish, in my opinion, unless we start breaking bullish market structure. For example, the first and lowest timeframe level of the bullish market structure that matters is twenty four eight marked, as you can see here in this chart. So there you have it. How many of you agree with credible crypto aren't currently bullish, even though the price action seems boring and continues to trade sideways? Let me know your honest thoughts in the comments right down below, which leads us to our next story of the day. That's Fundstrat's prediction of one hundred and eighty thousand dollar Bitcoin price by the time of the next halving, keeping in mind that halving is scheduled to be sometime in April 2024, virtually meaning less than nine months away. Let's break this down and shut up to Tom Lee over at Fundstrat. So I actually shared this in a tweet here this morning. Fundstrat investor note says Bitcoin could hit one hundred and eighty thousand before the upcoming block reward halving in April of twenty twenty four. And also interesting, an Indian analyst thinks that World War Three had already begun expecting the BRICS economic bloc to merge with the Shanghai Corporation Organization. And also it is shared that the financial services company attributes this projected five hundred and twenty one percent Bitcoin price hike from the current levels to the rising demand fueled mainly by the anticipated approval of a Bitcoin ETF, which I know is on everyone's mind. We know there's literally hundreds of trillions of dollars in the total addressable market, much of which can be come in pouring directly into BTC. So let's break down some more of these numbers. Fundstrat's and Pharrell's projections follow the mid -July forecast from the banking giant Standard Chartered. And guess who is the primary shareholder of Standard Chartered? You guessed it, BlackRock fam. They predict one hundred and twenty thousand dollar Bitcoin price by the end of next year in twenty twenty four. Now, Pharrell's analysis points to a Bitcoin ETF potentially adding an extra hundred million dollars in daily demand. I honestly feel that is conservative, but hey, now why the impending halving will slash the daily mining rewards down to a mere twelve million, quoting them here with a spot Bitcoin ETF launch daily demand will reach one hundred and twenty five million while the daily supply is only twenty five million. The implicit equilibrium price would need to increase so that the daily supply matches the daily demand. Now, equilibrium analysis suggests a clearing price of one hundred and forty to one hundred and eighty thousand per BTC before the halving in April of twenty twenty four. And moreover, Fundstrat envisions the possibility for a BlackRock Bitcoin ETF to become one of the most monumental ETF launches ever. Let's go. Possibly outstripping the QQQ ETF's thirty six billion in first year inflows. I think we crush it personally. The firm is of the opinion that Bitcoin ETF assets might outshine precious metal ETFs one hundred percent. Now that's a market worth two hundred and thirty billion dollars and eventually become a category worth more than three hundred billion. That's a given, right? However, approval for a spot Bitcoin ETF could enable manipulation akin to allegations about precious metal ETFs like gold and silver. A physically backed Bitcoin ETF is expected to boost crypto adoption as well as the prices. There is a chance it could mimic the gold and silver and allowing leverage of fictional supplies Bitcoin to manage futures positions, a .k .a. through derivatives. Now, when the price rises too fast, this imaginary Bitcoin supply could be dumped to tamp the global prices down. But for a while now, Fundstrat has been prophesizing a leap into the six digit territory as far as the Bitcoin price action, though these bold predictions have yet to materialize. Also, keep in mind, back in May of twenty twenty one, David Grider, the firm's chief digital asset strategist, confidently asserted that the target Bitcoin price of one hundred thousand per coin remained intact. Send it. He further envisioned Ethereum scaling to ten thousand per coin, reflecting on the broader crypto landscape. Grider's perspective from two years prior foresaw the entire crypto economy accelerating towards a staggering five trillion dollar milestone. So there you have it. Let me know if you agree or disagree with Fundstrat and their analysts that the Bitcoin price is likely to hit that target of between one hundred and twenty twenty four. That Bitcoin halving in April of twenty twenty four, that would obviously be the calm before the storm. And could you imagine the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF virtually being approved pre halving? That's going to send Bitcoin to a whole new stratosphere, in my humble opinion. I predict that we hit the peak cycle high in twenty twenty five, just considering the history doesn't necessarily repeat, but often tends to rhyme. And I remember the Bitcoin halving of twenty sixteen. It was the year following in twenty seventeen. We hit the high for that cycle of roughly twenty thousand. Then like clockwork four years later from the twenty sixteen halving in twenty twenty, we had the next halving and the following year Bitcoin hit the current all time high of sixty nine thousand. Hence, I'm predicting a multiple six figure Bitcoin price by twenty twenty five. Let me know if you agree or disagree in the comments below. And like I said, I'll read everyone's comments out loud at the end of the show. And with that being shared, fam, now let's discuss our final breaking story of the day. Jack recently Mallers did a podcast episode on his new podcast, Shout Out to Jack. I transcribed it because I find it very valuable. He was also interviewed on CNBC and talks about how hyperinflation will send the Bitcoin price to a million dollars. So here's some of the highlights and my transcription from his interview I have to share with you and then we'll dive into our live Q &A. So here we go. Here's what Jack Mallers had to share in this interview. If silver is going to 1000 X, I will walk into my kitchen right now and I will melt all of my silverware and I will sell it at market. If gold is going to rally, Elon Musk will find more on Mars. This is a super important point. Bitcoin is the only monetary instrument in the history of our species that is fixed. It does not matter how much more demand comes into the asset class because no one will ever be able to make more than it. There are two things I can guarantee you in my life. Number one, that I'll die. And number two, there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin. And those are the two things that I could only value, which is my life and my Bitcoin. So it is the only fixed supply asset. It is not that complicated. It's going to go up because everything else can be issued more. The only thing that is clear to us and clear to our customers is that you cannot hold and save in dollars anymore. I think there is going to be a new era of the US dollar where inflation will enter and normalize 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 percent. The days of 2 percent inflation are over. The Fed really blew this thing up. You can call it inflation because the CPI is low to nonsense, right? Like the government is going to tell me how the dollar is inflating based upon a basket of instruments like my Netflix subscription or my Caesar salad doesn't actually tell me how well the dollar is doing or how much it's being devalued. Miami real estate does. Bitcoin does. Bitcoin is up over 50 percent this year. You're telling me the dollar isn't inflating. You're out of your mind. I am not listening to that. The Fed and the whole monetary system is based on trust and they constantly, they constantly break that trust. Preach. It would be the equivalent to there's a fire outside of my house. I smell the smoke and someone tells me, no, no, no, no. It's a bunch of teenagers putting on a bonfire. OK, but I hear one police siren. Are you sure it's a bonfire? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a bonfire. Now I hear 10 sirens, 100 sirens. My whole community is running out. I'm not going to get up and look outside the window and see what's going on. I don't believe them for a second. You have to be absolutely crazy to believe the Federal Reserve right now. They are full of it. And I don't have to because I own Bitcoin. There is no one that can deflate my instrument. I get to hold it, save in it. I know the monetary policy. I sleep like a baby, like the baby face that I am. I think you are crazy to believe the Fed and these swap lines and treating these assets at par. It is a gimmick. It is a scam. Very powerful words coming from Jack Mallers. Let me know if you agree or disagree. And as you can see, this post is going viral over on X. So be sure to share it and repost it. I greatly appreciate that. Now for some other thoughts regarding predictions coming from Jack Mallers as well. When he was speaking with CNBC's Power Lunch with Kelly Evans, the strike CEO discussed the role of Bitcoin in the ongoing banking crisis. And Mallers is convinced that the Bitcoin price will hit one million dollars per coin fueled by global hyperinflation. According to Mallers, the Fed has tarnished its name by printing more money to save the banking industry, despite claims to reduce inflation to 2 % as I just shared with you. And as such, Mallers expects the Bitcoin price to continue with higher demand and Mallers reiterated the fact that there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin units, despite the increase in demand. Now, notably Mallers bashed the altcoin industry for being centralized with founders holding massive coins at the expense of the secondary market. And as such, Mallers thinks that altcoins are suitable for speculation and should ultimately be used to accumulate more BTC. Quoting him again here, my overall opinion is that the name of the game is to accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible. The alts are interesting, but a lot more speculative. I use them to accumulate more BTC. So there you have it. Let me know if you agree or disagree with Jack Mallers and his thoughts, what he had to share. Do you think that global hyperinflation will likely send the Bitcoin price thriving to seven figures per coin? Let me know your honest thoughts in the comments right down below, and don't forget to check out cryptonewsalerts .net for the full premium experience with video and to participate in the live Q and A. And I look forward to seeing you on tomorrow's episode. HODL.

A highlight from Crypto Investors AREN'T READY For What Happens Next, Top Altcoins & More - Jos (Delphi Digital)
"What's up, Banta fam? I'm here with Jose from Delphi Digital. Today, we're going to be discussing all about the crypto markets, DeFi, altcoins, layer twos, and more. We've got some awesome topics lined up for today's interview, which is part one. And we're also going to be doing a part two as well to discuss some other altcoin stuff. So Jose, welcome to the channel. Hey, Maz, thanks very much for having me. So I did an interview with you, I think it was like six months ago, and we went into a lot of the, like the basic fundamentals of your investing, your strategy. I want to focus more on current events in today's podcast, because obviously, a lot has happened since then. So I wanted to get an update from you. Like, what are your thoughts right now in terms of where we're sitting in the market, kind of in a weird low volatility period with people hanging on for this Bitcoin spot ETF approval? Yeah, definitely, definitely a bit of a weird sort of period. I think this is kind of always the case with with like bear markets, where it starts with kind of like fear and panic and volatility. And then it kind of gets like it continues to like indifference almost right where the market really slows down, volatility goes away, people start to think and that's when people really start to think it's dead. And like it kind of drives people insane, especially trader types who just get like wrecked with the with the chop. From my perspective, there's loads of loads of cool stuff happening in the background. I mean, I think infrastructure is progressing really well. There's now like multiple options for devs to launch applications in ways that are like very scalable. There's, there's a lot of development happening on the application front as well, although it's like largely unseen. But like, there's billions of dollars raised for crypto games. We like invested a lot of crypto games. So we get kind of a sneak peek and pretty exciting some of the stuff that's going on in the background there. I think, like, DeFi gets a lot of hate. And obviously, he's been in a famous the Gen Spartan kind of 36 month bear market. But I think DeFi has shown like how resilient it is through throughout everything that happened here, both with Curve and with with the stuff in 2022 too. So overall, I think we're in like, pretty good spot. Yeah, I mean, obviously, Bitcoin ETF would be would be huge. But I think there's like enough kind of natural momentum from from stuff that's being built that. Yeah, I'm pretty, pretty bullish from where I'm sitting. Amazing. Yeah, I want to ask you about some of those like protocols and altcoins specifically. But first, to just touching on the ETF, once again, what are your thoughts on the implications? How do you view view it overall affecting like the Bitcoin flow structurally? Yeah, I don't know that I have like a particularly interesting or good take on this. I think it'll make it much easier for external money to enter into Bitcoin. And it will also kind of like be a stamp of approval for Bitcoin from TradFi. And like once you have like, obviously, BlackRock itself has has like $10 trillion under management. And I think there's there's multiple spot ETFs filed by like massive entities. And once they start putting their marketing dollars behind the behind it, and you're kind of like aligned with them, it kind of changes the game for Bitcoin a little bit and makes it makes it much more unstoppable. And then, I mean, obviously, what we always see with Bitcoin is if Bitcoin like the a lot of the bull runs kind of start with Bitcoin, and then people move, like take their Bitcoin gains and move further out the risk curve to ETH and then from ETH to alts, right, so should be very kind of positive for the entire crypto market. But I also think a Bitcoin ETF kind of makes an ETH ETF, like inevitable from my perspective, and it'll just take a bit longer. And so that'll be super positive, too. I think once like if TradFi likes Bitcoin, I think they're gonna love ETH with like a yield and deflationary narrative and all this stuff. Yeah, so I think it's very positive. And obviously, like the approval is likely to to coincide with like the happening, which is just like, I think going to end up being pretty explosive, pretty explosive, explosive combo. So yeah, I don't have like a very original take. But yeah, I think it's obviously very, very bullish. Well, I want to touch on the second half of what you're saying just there like referencing like Ethereum and how it could potentially lead to an ETH ETF as well. I want to refer to a tweet that I did yesterday kind of listing some of the reasons why I'm personally bullish on ETH. So we're seeing, I feel like a shift in the market, like with a lot of L1s rebranding to like ETH L2s, obviously, the layer two TVL keeps increasing. And you also have specific ETH catalysts that are on the horizon. You could think of like EIP 4844 as one we'll probably discuss later. But like, generally, just there's a lot of bullish momentum for Ethereum. Do you see this trend continuing? Like what do you think this means for the overall layer one, layer two landscape? Because it just seems like yeah, there's just a lot of momentum for Ethereum that continues to be built.

Jose Macedo's Unlikely Journey From Poker to Crypto
"Is customary on every center, I guess the first question we asked generally is sort of how did you end up in crypto? So I think for you, this is a quite interesting story, so excited to hear a bit about it. Yeah, it's a long story. I started off playing MIT's kind of playing professional poker, which was the way that I first got into economics and game theory and stuff like that. Then I went to university studied politics philosophy and economics there. I started a couple of businesses, including very random businesses, like a cleaning company, a martial arts academy, all sorts of different stuff. And then actually someone came like a friend of a friend came to train at my martial arts academy in this person who still encrypted, and I think it doesn't like to be ducks. It has quite a big kill count as well in terms of getting people into crypto. But they kind of talk to me about Ethereum. And it just made sense to me pretty much instantly. I had heard about Bitcoin a bunch of times before. People had even offered to settle transactions back in the poker days in Bitcoin and stuff, but I just never bothered to look into it and also it wouldn't have clicked for me, I think the kind of just pure and unstoppable money thing, but the world computer thesis really, really did click for me. And so pretty much a week later, I had put everything on hold, like all the businesses and everything, and it was just kind of diving down the rabbit hole, reading everything I could on crypto and on monetary history and all sorts of stuff like that. And then yeah, I started working in this space pretty soon after just because I wanted to find more smart people to kind of learn alongside. Started off as an analyst at a company called amazings back in the days. I don't know if you guys remember that. It was like a community management company from the ICO days. I was just like speaking to a bunch of founders assessing a bunch of projects. We worked with like bancor and a bunch of other kind of cool projects. And I was writing research on my blog in my spare time and kind of connected through that with delfi had written

I feel in a very very very good place and since we've been doing this it's helped my nerves. I used to get and you know. I used to get so nervous. So i mean. Of course there's still nerves is to get so nervous and it was crazy when i went to nationals. I was like surprised. I was expecting to be very nervous with it. Being nationals my first tournament. I a lot of things and i remember jose in the back. You know getting ready like literally twice fried fighting. Look to him. And i'm mike. I'm in a really good place. I don't have to worry about anyone else and i'm able to just focus on me so i like that we do that. It helps for a lot of different reasons. I agree that is exactly. Why are we doing you know. There's a lot of things that you know. You could get mentally drained you know in mentally drain will affect you just because you're mentally drained. Nothing that not not that you're running. Doing anything else is the fact that your brain is mentally drained like when you have a long day i work like faulk. I'm just tired and you like which me tired you were sending all day i work. Yeah but you're mentally drained like you in chill. Well that happens when you're around boxers all day you're like in that environment when they hope they get all enzymes. I'll say about seventy five percent of the time there's that one there is at twenty five percent of the time that there will still be pissed off and you know what happens this what i would tell people. I'm like. look you said that this and this and this and this is what you were upset. I find a solution to all four of those things. And you're still mad so you know what happens. And i will tell them straight up when all this happens is no matter what i do for you. You are going to be men no matter what i do. You are gonna be man. So there's nothing i can do to make you happy and that is a personal problem. That is not my problem more and that was a knockout punch. That's where the conversation would end right there But a lot of people you know. I bring this up now. You know i talked about in previous episodes. Where i'm not a big believer in in you know pushing change to hate you know hating or being real aggressive about Somebody that does not believe something you believe in. I don't really feel like that. Changes anything. So i approach a very differently. I would've could've walked into that starbucks. Inches been pissed off that she was wearing the hat and hated her. And guess what i would have left with haight emma heart and she would've left like you know what they are. Assholes fucking. mexicans are assholes the motherfucker banal a change. your whole vision. I changed everything about how she feels about. A mexican. you know and a person from california and so that's just my way about going about it. I people always say you know. I've had people actually told me you know. How do you have people that are trump supporters at your gym. And i'm like yo that's how you see but you're missing the biggest point of ima- i don't care if they're trump or biden supporters before anything you know what they are. They are jose supporters because they are at our gym and people just missed..

Oh well what's your name. And i gave them my name and the conversation was going between the cashier. Me and When i was done pain. I just wish her good day and i'll start walking away and when i start walking away i i notice that the girl with the hat her name actually lori lori stands up and she's right next to me now and like what you got there. That's what she says literally that's exactly i. She says what you got there with like accent is oklahoma accent and i was like i explained to her what it was and these are these. Are these mugs that when you get them they make them different in every state and i was like That's what i got. And she was like okay so she though you're telling me you go everywhere just to buy those mugs. Wouldn't it be cheaper just to call them in order inches ordering the in their shipped to you and i just started laughing. I was like no. I didn't commercials for that. I'm here for a tournament. I gave her the whole lowdown. And then after that we start talking. And and i'm hell of fron. I introduced myself. So i'm hey i'm mosaic and issues like oh i'm laurie and then i'm an in this. I know she wasn't paying attention at the beginning because at the end she asked me my name again. So you could tell. I hadn't winner over yet. She still had hate. She's still hey buddy like the body language and the way she was looking at it. 'cause i'm seeing the conversation through the doors here. I'm just sitting body language. Jose just being jose. And i'm like oh she's going to turn away route. I just know it. And then her body language solely churn..

So he's used to it he just laughs it off all now the more i travel with them the more i'm realizing like oh my god okay. So same reservation. We'll get like. I left from las vegas because i was at the silver gloves there and then jose left from sacramento. See that we have the same like we use the same reservations. Like and i get here no problem and then you guys already heard. He was stuck there forever. I like sitting here waiting for him. It's like a check in so i Which ron was really great with getting him checked in and everything but so it again check because he wasn't making time so we ended up getting some running around making trips back and forth to. They checked in as a coach. So we made that happen. I'm just dying laughing. When he sends me the picture of his see. He thought that he got upgraded verse class. Laura i'm just like oh my gosh. Of course aol. I usually was dying. I'm just thinking of him in turbulence like on this little roll out by the toilets like like it's comical so bad it's comical and i i laugh in his face should i gotta do. It's funny for her. Everybody got their except for say he got it like a day later it and then then we go to the hotel which were there for the boxing national tournament. And they thought we're there for makeup or convention or something. And i i was. Running levi was my makeup assistant and jose was the boss of interesting trio that time but the rooms were underneath. Jose morales is name. And so many times i was locked out my room and same with levi and you know i went down there and like i. You know i go down there like oh yeah. Hi amy your toes as room. Yeah okay yeah. They're not letting him. Ira can you come help me. And he's underneath your name. He like he was like we hotel. It was some bullshit was in louisiana. I'm telling you so. People don't understand what it's like to be a young mexican and good looking now. I'm serious. I don't know what it is about me. I don't know why. I guess. I look like a fucking criminal. Because i'm an ominous episode. Here with amy and she's already fucking laughing and there's gonna be a good one because we're gonna be talking about. Are traveling experience together. You know everything we do and we travel and things like that here. I'm gonna have. Amy say what's sub. Say well something high traveling with coach. I said we had to do an episode. Because it's crazy. And i was not planning on doing a podcast with her. Sioe only have one mike. So we're passing the mike back and forth so so if you if just don't hear tug moore's probably because i was tired msci so on yes on this episode. We're gonna be talking about that but before we start talking about everything with with traveling in our routine were getting ready for tournaments and things like that I wanna talk about the previous episode. Taking hills I hope you guys enjoyed it. As actually the first episode of that released on tuesday i was one day late and i talked a lot of a lot about why was late on the episode. So i apologize Now i should be back on track. You hear them every. Monday and on This episode we're going to start with. Why are we here. We are in tulsa oklahoma because of the national golden gloves and we are here first and foremost because of amy or her accomplishments her winning all her winning all her hard work is what god is here. That is the first thing. I first comes first. And that is why we're here and now we're here to be a national golden gloves champion But it was not that easy to get here i. We had to convince talk to a lot of people. Really really advocate for yourself. And and i'm going me talk about this but there was no one coming out of california to represents california the national golden globes because california did not have a golden glove tournament due to code. So they were not going to send nobody they were actually going to send one girl and i'll tell you about that in a little bit. But they weren't gonna sail ascend. Nobody and i'm gonna let me kind of share the story of how the hell she got herself here right so actually. There hasn't been golden gloves in california for two years We were assigned up in twenty twenty for twenty twenty golden gloves and three days before the tournament. It was in the bay area. That's when the bay area got shut down..

And if you've been keeping up with the previous episodes The last one the california state championships in the one by before that in route to la. I've been on the road a lot so have not been in the gym. So typically they're recorded. And i have video and all this but i've been recording cars and this is another special episode where i am recording in my hotel room live from tulsa outlet home and you listen to the previous episode. Hope you guys enjoyed it But if you paid attention to episode of talked about how. I had hectic crazy week with silver glows in vegas on august. Sixth seventh and eighth and then august six david and victor and diego fighting and sacramento well. It got even crazier because with like five days. Not even a week. Notice avionics got an invitation to the national golden gloves so the national goal loses and oklahoma which was on the seventh. We had to be here in oklahoma. Which i wasn't able to do but i explained to you. We did so. I got really crazy because the seventh. We're still supposed to be in vegas and all this stuff was going on. So i'll obviously was not going to be able to make it and amy was going to be in vegas In the corner for angel. And abe. And while i was in sac for diego victim david and pretty much saturday when i got the plan was when i get to a lay on i mean in vegas on on the seventh of august. We're gonna tag team. "Because i wanted to do so much with the was teaching zimba. I knew i wanted to do a lot more. I mean i still kinda occasionally do. But that's not how i wanted to originally so in my eyes i quit and the way i looked at it is The the what am i going to do with this. I mean am. I really going to because Then started getting to a point where i loved it but i had to do it every day and it was more like now. I wasn't enjoying it. As and so then i was like well now. It's taking away from me loving it. And so i kind of started like and then when i started working here that i worked in the afternoon so i kind of just stopped doing zimba at all and then it slowly kinda just went away and i occasionally do it for fun. But it's not something. I like that i remember. I used to think that. I was going to get like a place where i did. Zoom bud it was gonna be fitness and workouts. And all that and i. I was actually a gym where he never pursued it. Wow yeah so. I think that's why this is still bug. You know. Because like i said at the end of a i was. It was something that i love to do and it was something that i did it so much that i was kind of like a. I wasn't enjoying it as much as it was too much. 'cause and zuma is not just go to class in you teach your kharafi. You gotta invest time and learning the song you got to look at the kharafi. You gotta learn new steps. You gotta keep up with the program. You gotta keep up with your clients like behind the scene and it's not just an hour of your time. It's a lot of time so it was something where i was like. I'm not enjoying this anymore and so much today. That's one thing. I'd probably say that i quit. So do you feel like it was right moved to acquire. Do you regret quitting. Aren't shark tank. Do you think the sharks will agree with you that it was smart to quit or do you think they will tell you quitting. No i think that they would be your smart. To quit was a lot of competition. It was a lot of you had to. You really have to put yourself out there. If i wasn't enjoying it anymore. Pointless you're not you gotta and so for me. That's what put up the competition. I'm gonna say noses and for me. That's what quitting to me. Quitting that is what opened up time to be here. If i had not. If i had said jose i i will work with you but i need to be off by. This time. did the busiest times in the gym. I wouldn't be where i'm at right now and so Yeah that's why so. I think it was smart. I think it was very smart. But what were you to say about When i went to when i met my dad's brother. Charlie had his conference at posted on instagram. Had a great conversation with this guy about all sorts of stuff but one thing he said to me besides like he spoke highly about health and all these things and family and so forth but he mentioned whatever you do in whatever it is. You're doing if you're not competing to be the best or dominating whatever it is that you do find something else to do..

"I like about the catholic church. Culture is better. there's the party and the service dope reenacted was born summer series. I'm hella catholic. I feel like in those moments brings you together and those are good things so i like to look at the good things like to molesting kids. You don't wanna talk about that. She wanna talk about that. And that's bad a better than this even like like Joe's wooden stuff. I mean that happens. Where all these tv shows and movies. There's always there's always something that comes over to like a a priest. Is i think the catholic religion has it worse because they straight up they have the priests can get married like. That's messed up. The guy how can in the bible itself it says. A man is not complete without a woman. You have this man right not neutered. Yeah just chilling around hella nuns. Yo come on. Y'all be detained on the roads. He's definitely going to get the phone call. No but i'm serious. Yo as messed up only going to be like trains on trains. No that's a good point. Though kelly i agree with kelly with that that's a good point what matters is your intentions. Doesn't matter i agree kelly looking at it this way for example one time brenner. We're talking about that marriage thing and he was he asked me okay. Wait you brian with you. Were talking about marriage. Marriage search marriage coming out going liberals. He's turning red red eight year. They got the house she got the house. All right. so what's going to talk about. Marriage is actually. We were talking about We started talking to that subject. Because i was saying that one of the things that like about My religion is that you can't get married or whatever And so a couple years ago. When i lived with my parents i was able to be a godmother to my godson. My best friend's son. Because i was living with my parents i was. I was still with brandon. But i was living with my parents. We were living brandon. You won't be able to exactly so now that i'm living with brandon. I can't be the godmother frustration a lot of cut off pissing me off his hearing it on so we were so he was like well with. Why does it. What do they say. That are where i said because the bible says that you have to be married or whatever and then he kind of so on them bible. There's a rule that says you can neither no no. I'm just saying that. A man and a woman to be married in order for them to live like if not for you to be a godmother role. Now hold on joe all. I'm going to say if you're gonna argue about religion. Imagine if there was a new bible that was made today. We're kind of Commandments will be on there. Like you have to have a certain amount of credit score a match mary. A woman in her credit scores under seven hundred hundred nails are not doing.

This don't always do that. And then i explained to you. I did this this this this and this and this and this is what i learned from it that or not. That's a humble way to talk about yourself versus what you mean. You don't know what the fuck do damn man a fucking do everything. 'cause i know everything poem that's just like a big fucking difference. Yeah now is like shit motherfuckers. Addict versus he's taken the time to teach me. Yes and you're explaining it for way to benefit somebody not in a way that you're just trying so you're doing it in a way where you are. The only reason why you brought it up is because you're trying to help that person that person or whatever but you're not doing it just to.
