"Researcher at ESPN he's the head honcho on the show get up or at least that's what he told us and he is the dad of two babies and we love hearing all those stories about your little girls before we start on the podcast. I would say this, my mom sent me as you were asking the question and you're like, I don't know if other babies do, this as much as our girls do or they cry as much as this one, my mom said to me, many, many years ago that everyone wants to hear all the time that their babies are totally unique. Yes, is that true? Yes, of course it is true. The problem if we're even to call it that is that the uniqueness is just multiplied by two. So I don't know if there are more or less fussy or more or less happy or more or less poopy. I just know that there's two of everything. And so in some sense, it's obviously an amazing glorious blessing, but there are very few times during the day where neither of them are making a sound. So you're always checking in and out. So I spend most of my day, like looking at them, looking at my screen, looking at the TV watching the game, whenever whatever, but look, maybe I'm an enormous luck to all of my Philadelphia theme. So what I can definitely say is, the girls are doing a great job and they've entered this world. Yeah, and they rank one and two and everything. They're no question about that. One and two. Yep. On the top of every palette now and I'll leave that to you to decide the one and two. But there is my hour. It varies by hour. Exactly. All right, so you are a Phillies fan. You would be watching this anyway because you're a baseball fan, but you're really locked in, tell me what we can learn from the Phillies Padres national league championship series. Yeah, buster, I want to go high level on this. I think we can learn three things in particular. One, we can learn the value of ownership that for the last 5 years has been committed to winning at all costs, literally. The felice of increased their payroll by a $133 million over the last 5 years. The Padres, by 117 million, those are the two largest jumps in the national league over that time. The second thing we can learn buster is the value of a true superstar in his prime. All of this was triggered in that two week span in 2019 when many Machado and Bryce Harper both signed as free agents. Now, we know that mega contracts to historically have been bad investments, but both of those guys were 26 at the time. And so not only do you get that kind of prime production, but you also get that Tom Brady in fact, where other players want to come play with you. You recruit other players to come to those cities. They're sort of forced multipliers for lack of a better term. And the third thing we can learn is obviously the extraordinary value of the trade deadline. I mean, obviously Juan Soto was the headliner, but Josh hader has been a revelation this postseason. Fran and drury was great yesterday, even Noah syndergaard and Brandon marsh and David Robertson have been different speakers the last couple months for the Philips. I mean, we're one year removed from Eddie Rosario and Jorge soler being massive difference makers in the postseason for Atlanta. I'm obviously not telling you anything you don't already know. But the aggression by both front offices, but the Phillies and the Padres, both pay dividends, and I think go a long way in why these teams are in this position. Yeah, it's very interesting and I know Red Sox fans will sort of ring their hands and talk about Dave Nebraska and say, you know, all he does is spend resources. He's pretty good at identifying players, you know? And through the years, he seems to have a sense of the moment and for picking the right guys. A trade that really embody that for me was when he traded for Doug fister from the Seattle Mariners when he was running the tigers and Fisher turned out to be a terrific pitcher for them. He definitely seems to have a feel for fixing spots. And I like the fact that he's open minded. So when he looks at his team, he's not going to say, yeah, you know, our team is great. Our team is perfect. They went out and improved their defense. You know, during the course of the year, from where they were at the beginning of the year to now, I asked this if Eduardo will ask it to you after watching the first two games, do you have a strong sense of the Phillies or the Padres having a distinct advantage moving forward in this series? I do not. This to me is the definition of a coin flip series. I guess traditionally the fact. And so funny, that's exactly the phrase that water and I use. Corn flip. Who knows? Because for every point, there's a counterpoint. Obviously, the Phillies winning one in San Diego and theoretically means traditionally that you've stolen one. But at the same time, you feel Padres have to feel really good about their starting pitcher and game three in relation to hours. And the fact that in games four and 5, the Padres bullpen, which is deeper, will probably have a big advantage because they will be pitching on no rest where the Phillies will be decimated in that sense. So to me, you could go any number of ways.

"But curry didn't win the 2022 NBA MVP I don't I don't think, right? Wasn't it joke? Well, he won the Finals MVP though, right? So he gets in with the Jorge soler. There's like a really competing hierarchy of MVPs that I find quite confusing. The internal MVP logic of this awards field is not. And who was the fourth guy is he a soccer player? Connor McDavid, hockey player. Hockey. Oh gosh, we're going to give you I'm sorry. I was so happy for the ambulance. Send all your emails to make. No, I'm sorry. I will freely admit my own ignorance. I apologize. Yes, but I think we can glean from this that World Series MVP or Finals MVP trumps all, which hey, I mean, if you won the MVP and I mean, but yes, but no, right? Because if that were true, then Jorge soler would be the good point. Good point. You know, and that would be that would be a very wild nomination. And you always feel kind of bad in moments like this one there is sort of an odd selection because it just makes it sound like you're really down on Jorge solar, and I don't mean that at all. There's like a perfectly useful big leaguer and he was as we have just discussed very useful to Atlanta during that run. And but he should be the best baseball player. That seems good. That seems like the fans decide to pick Aaron judge. I bet the answer will be Aaron judge, and then it would be great if Otani did win best male athlete, which like somebody might say what he's doing is so amazing that the degree of difficulty he's pursuing within his own sport to succeeds, you know, these guys. Right, yeah, then you have an issue of a lack of internal consistency and internal logic because what if Aaron judge is the best MLB player, but Shohei Ohtani is the best athlete in men's sports. Yeah. Just does not compute. There will be steam coming out of everyone's ears as they present these awards. They will deactivate some original Star Trek robot who is presented with some kind of conundrum by Kirk. So now you all know that the espys exist and set Jorge soler may be the best MLB player thought that was important news to pass along to our listeners. Yeah, and then if you can't, you don't have, you don't have integrity and SP voting. Like, what do we have? Country, really. Yeah. We'll see who can mobilize their voters, whether Jorge slayer has a great get out the vote and whether he has local campaign offices that have been preparing for this and they've got their messaging out there. They're going door to door, to win this thing. I'm pulling for him, frankly. So we've got a lot to discuss. We had a base brawl. We had a regular old Donny brook. Donny brook probably doesn't even go far enough. This was beyond donnybrook. There were punches thrown in this thing. So many aspects to discuss of the angels Mariners brawl. We have a Bryce Harper injury. We have some other interesting news and follow ups and step less and past bless. I think will not discuss west Johnson today. The twins pitching coach, who is going back to coach in college because we will talk about that next time. Yes. With a guest. So we will get to that. It is quite interesting. Yes. But lots of other stuff on the agenda today. I guess we should probably begin with the brawl, but as a segue into the Braille, I want to bring back everyone's favorite segment, a broadcaster, mixes up Tyler wade and Taylor gorge. This is great because we have years and ice everywhere, people who are listening to every flavor of broadcast that the angels are involved in. So we started out with Joe Davis mixing up the two, then we had Mark gooba, the angels broadcaster, mixing up the two, and now this was sent to us by at B Connolly on Twitter. This is from the June 24th game angels and Mariners in this was Mariners TV broadcaster, Dave Sims..

"There are all these bones and kingery is in moniac hanging around here who like, if one of them could click, that would really help quite a lot. And I know people are maybe excited about Mickey moniak, spring. He has a 1285 OPS in spring training, which is fun, although I will note that he also had 1000 plus OPS in spring trading in each of the past two years in fewer at bats, but that's something that has happened. So rookies, I mean, we mentioned start rate and is not veering rookie eligible. I don't remember how Ricky eligibility works. But he's around as well. Hey Matt feeling is ruche eligible. You like either of them or anyone else? Yeah, I mean, I think it having just mentioned bomb like it was interesting that that was a bit of a positional battle, but I think as Meg said, I think it's pretty likely we see get some time at short and yeah, it's exciting that he will be on the roster for opening day and I think that one should be went to watch out for. All right, well that's the Phillies. There's definitely a lot of reasons to watch this team. It should be frustrating at times and fun at other times. So I'm definitely looking forward to this Philly season. It will be unlike any other season that we will see this year, I think. So that brings us to the Marlins. They were also active. There are a lot of active teams in this division this winter. Do you have a favorite or best Marlins move? So looking like big picture long-term, I think it's hard not to pick extending a sandy Alcantara because that's I think a really good step toward blocking down this young rotation core, which is very exciting and fun to watch. But I also really liked picking up Jacob stallings at catcher to talking about how good this rotation can be in, especially a young rotation, having him there to manage his staff, I think, is really exciting. And so that one, I think, might be my favorite. Yeah, that's a good pick. By the way, I should mention that the Phillies have kind of overhauled their player development department. So maybe things will get better there as Nebraska said, we need to be better at getting players over the hump and producing good players from within the system. I agree, Dave, the Philly's definitely need to be better at that. All right, back to the so the strength, I guess the strength is probably what we've always talked about with the steam right the young pitcher. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's hard not to, yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of it. It's fun. I mean, there are pictures on the staff who have already been great. Like, I'll counter and Rogers. I mean, people have projected our counter to make even greater strides I've seen according to stat cast. I noticed this because my colleague Zach kram pointed it out the other day. But Alcantara had the worst framing support of any pitcher. He had the most runs last two framing according to baseball savant last season. So with Stalin's hopefully that will not be the case, even though maybe stylings is a more elite blocker than a framer, hopefully that'll get a little bit better for him. But Trevor Rogers has already really good bubble Lopez. Eleazar Hernandez, they're so many guys here. Jesus, I guess the question. I don't know whether we're stepping on any breakout picks or anything here, but that's definitely one of the storylines of the season. How much will you get out of him? Yeah. And obviously 6 do Sanchez who does not seem to be close to returning from his shoulder surgery. So I just, I have no idea what to expect out of him if anything or when, but there are so many good pictures here that they've already traded a little bit from that depth, but they could continue to if they want to supplement the lineup still. Yeah. Yeah, I can't wait to see what this player does group can do with lizard, which isn't to say that like, you know, Oakland's not like bad at that, but I think that there's just the opportunity here for him to take a step forward with the combination of what they're up to and good health and yeah, and if 6 or 6 inches can ever figure out a better fastball shape like look at. Weakness? I appreciate that they try to fix the lineup some Jorge soler. They tried. You can't say they didn't do anything. They did that do enough for dirt cheaters taste seemingly. Yeah, weird. Because what we're saying, this rotation could be so, so, so good. And it's like if you could just do a little more here to give me confidence that you could at least consistently be a average ish offense. I would feel so excited to watch this you and instead you haven't quite done that. I think it admirable job of trying with what seemed like it was not very much to work with. Financially, but yeah. Yeah. Garcia, obviously Garcia is a good player in Jorge soler. I have no idea whether he's like the very not good player or the very good player who he was like within last season. I don't know exactly what to make of him and Stalin's obviously helps you a lot. Defensively at the very least. So it is an improvement, but yeah, they were linked to Castellanos and Marte, who, of course, was a Marlin in the not too distant past. And someone like that, I mean, yeah, it seems like they could use a real Big Bopper, but I believe in aspects of the lineup, I guess. Is there a breakout pick either on the offensive side or just yet another pitcher who could take a step forward for you? I think luzardo is such a good pick because I really do think that, you know, working with this staff, I would be really excited to see what we get from him if he can kind of fit in with the rest of this rotation. But other than that, you know, this steps on a rookie, but I'm talking about this lineup and what we might see. Can you curious to see what Jesus Sanchez does in the outfield? He does have some power that is other always missing from this lineup and I would like to see maybe we can get something from him there. But yeah, breakout wise, you know, I feel like it's hard because pitching staff is already so good other than luzardo that you can't really point to much there. And then the lineup is what we've discussed it is. So is it too late to predict well, I don't know if I'm predicting, but to hope for a jazz Chisholm break out sort of for him to elevate past what he did last year, which wasn't bad, but was not like, you know, he was a below league average header and the defense was only so, so. So maybe we could give some hope to just hold my suppose? Yeah, I think so. He's one of those players who in my head because he is so much fun to watch even if he hasn't like fully put it together that he has already transcended it in my head. Even though you're right, he was not a leak average hitter, even though he felt like one to me. Right. But very much felt like one. And so that's a great point. This close. Yeah, it was close. But not quite there. Yeah, no. His highlights are as exciting as anyone. And I guess it sounds like a cliche, but consistency that's kind of important for him, but also plate discipline and strikeout to walk ratio. He struck out close to 30% of the time last year and walked less than 7% of the time. So that's an issue, but he does have speed and power and it definitely wouldn't surprise me to see him make a step forward. He's only 24, so yeah, I could see it. And I'm with you on Sanchez as well. I could see him having a 30 Homer season. He hit 14 and 251 plate appearances last year. So clearly has a lot of power. So yeah, there's that..

"The board over the weekend among the players who were waiting to get decisions from in free agency. The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a 5 year $100 million deal for Castellanos, who had three O 9 with 34 homers and a hundred RBI last season for the reds, the Phillies are going to have an absolutely stacked offensive lineup. Not sure about their defense. The braves have signed Kenley Jansen to a one year deal for $16 million. We're going to be talking with Sarah Lang's done a little bit about the quality of the braves bullpen. The Marlins signed Jorge soler, World Series hero to a three year $36 million deal. Matt's newcomer starling Marte is slowed in the mets camp by an oblique injury. The Padres acquired Luke Voight from the New York Yankees. Now, over the weekend, we learned the whereabouts of Carlos Correa. He's with the Minnesota Twins. Agreed to a three year $105.3 million deal, which contains opt outs, not surprisingly, and the Red Sox signed Trevor story. 6 years, a $140 million, Tim Kirk, and I will be talking about that in just a moment. Taylor, what do you got? Buster, great weekend of action at the NCAA tournament in Baldwin on campus will be recapping all of that action tomorrow morning, Tuesday morning. We'll do our first weekend recap show. And then we're going to look ahead to the sweet 16 and the elite 8. That show is going to come out on Wednesday. The 2021 class of free agent shortstops was expected to be the greatest concentration of positional talent hitting the open market at the same time. In alphabetical order, Javier Baez, Carlos Correa, Francisco Lindor, Corey Seeger, Marcus Simeon, Trevor story, how'd they do? Well, they more than lived up to the hype. Lindor was traded by Cleveland to the match for a package of prospects in the months leading up to the 2021 season. And then the Met signed Lindor to a record setting $341 million deal, the most for any shortstop. Here's Lindor, the Zoom call after the mets acquired him. Of course, I embrace every single step of my life. And this step, like you saying, I'm one of the faces. I am breath embrace that. I have never been the type of player where it's like, follow me, I'll lead you to success. Now I always been a person that together, we all got to achieve what we want. And that's what I bring. There continues to be questions in the industry about why the mets would effectively pay double. The cost and prospects, and then that whopper contract, the other 5 players reach free agency and two landed with the same team. Seger signed a $325 million deal would be the ranger shortstop and Simeon got a 175 million to play second base alongside Seeger. Here's Seeger and Simeon when they were introduced by the rangers. Yeah,.

"So gray is great. I'm not gonna say Cray is not the best player on the board, but if I could pick one of these free agents or at least offensively, we'll get to another guy, I like. But at the top of my offensive board for the Red Sox, Nick Castellanos. First of all, put him either in between or after Bogart's endeavors. That's it. There's few teams offending the league that are matching that three, four, 5. He gives them a right handed bat, like you said, the outfield. And he's just so much fun to watch. He enjoys the game. He has one play in the game. He brings that energy. I think he'd be a really, really good fit in this Clubhouse. Like one of my wherever he goes unless it's the Yankees, I'll be a fan of his. I just personally a player I really enjoy. He checks so many boxes for them. Like you said, Craig is probably a pipe dream. Cassiano's probably is too, but man, would he be just such a perfect fit for the team for the city? Like Boston would eat up a guy like this. They would be all in on the cassia. If I could choose anybody off this list, it might be him. All right, the guy that I think you were going to refer to was outfielders, say a Suzuki, correct. I assume he's the one you would really like to see in Boston. No, it was actually, it was actually Carlos rodon. Ron Don. Ronda, yeah, Carlos rondo. But. Very unlikely. I know. Yes. But that addresses a different piece of starting picture. I'm going to stick to just the bats for now. The Red Sox, as we mentioned, need a right handed hitting outfielder. Suzuki certainly is that he's only 27, he hit three 17 with a one .069 OPS tremendous OPS and a 134 games in Japan last year. He projects to be a strong addition to any lineup in Major League Baseball. MLB trade rumors projects Suzuki would draw a 5 year $55 million deal and that's not including the negotiating fee that would go along with that, obviously. Chris Bryan has been in the mix, but again, MLB trade rumors project 6 years, a $160 million for Brian. The Red Sox are still conscious cost conscience, and they want value for what they're signing. Say is Suzuki checks that box, I think, for me. He certainly does, because $11 million a year for a starting outfielder is a really good deal, you're paying more, but posting fees not against the tax. So you're paying more, but you're not taxed on it. It really is the value signing. That's the one I, you know, the players I listed 11 players of those I listed, I think he's far and away the most likely. The one other name I'd put out there if we're talking about right handed out field bats, right? And you're talking about value as Jorge soler. It's going to be 30 years old. He really struggled early in the year last year, got dealt at the deadline, finished strong with the braves. He had two 69 and 55 games for Atlanta, gives them some pop. So he's the one other name I'd say, you know, right handed bat in the outfield, I wonder, 'cause, you know, with Chris Bryant Castellanos, his price is going to come down a little bit because there are so many good right handed bats that they could maybe get him a little below market. And do you do mention in your story on 98, 5, the sports sub.

"I guess I will take the under Castellanos at 5 and one 15 and I guess this is mostly just based on him not being a good defensive player and being 30 years old and he's coming off a great offensive season. He has really dependably been a very good hitter, but I guess it's just kind of, you know, limited defensive home and yes, the DH helps maybe opens up more potential suitors, but also makes him less valuable. I don't know, in his case, it might not actually make him less valuable if he has a TH. You might be better suited to be a DH, but there is sort of a ceiling, I think, on what teams are willing to pay DH type. And from the looks of it, it seems like the fan graphs crowd and also you Ben Clemens would agree with me on the under here. But it just seems like castiano's kind of like the model of the type of player who used to really get paid in free agency. And now not so much just because of the age and also just because of the limited base running and defensive ability. But he really can rake in this year for the first time in a while. It wasn't like his statcast debts were better than his actual stats. Like he really produced this time. Yeah, I will say that of the 6 picks I thought were the best we've now picked all 6. Okay then. All right, I'm gonna take one more under. I'm gonna take the under on starlin marthe and actually like their projection okay, I just think martis gonna take a short hire Virginia value deal. Yeah. And so do they have him at four 20? So 80 million total guaranteed. And I had predicted him for two 50. And I think that he just makes a lot of sense as a short term high dollar deal. And so while I think that they are in the right neighborhood, I just think it was shape as many different enough that I'll win on that. Okay, I'm going to take an over. Taking, I'm taking the over on yon Gomes. They have him at two years and 10 million. I think that he been you're so good at your job, Ben. You're both good at your job. I mean, I mean Clemens in this particular instance. I think that gums will sign a one year deal, but I think that it will be for more than ten, so I'm taking the over on him. There's just so we talked about it when Perez was cut loose by Cleveland, just like, do we? Do we need another catcher on this list? Because there's only on Gomes and we talked about it a little, and I think it only took a minute to decide, no, it's young. So the market is so thin, but I think he'll be able to extract a little bit extra as a result of that and outdo 10 million. So be well, Jan, good luck. Okay, all right, I guess, well, I've got this under a guy I've got that under okay, which under that I'm not going to go for it. Guess I'll go for Jorge soler under at three 36 and maybe the upside is a little limited with this pick. I don't know he should make some significant amount of money, but he was so bad with the royals before it had trade and so bad. Everyone has forgotten that now because of the way he ended that season with Atlanta in the regular season and in the postseason. But he spent most of the season with the royal sin boy he was bad with them, and really other than that 48 Homer home run king season with the royals, you know, it's been up and down to say the least, and he's never been a great on base guy. And it's possible that given his postseason showing in the way that he finished that season that someone really will want to go big with or hey slayer, but I don't know, he turns 30 by the time pitchers and catchers are reporting roughly theoretically if they report at the typical time. And I just kind of wonder, again, not a great defensive player, like he has to mash and at times he has mashed, but he hasn't really reliably mashed. And he has some recent history of being bad as well. So going to go with the under on that. Yeah, I think that people are really overrating the World Series and postseason in general, premium on that. I was looking at the way the braves were managing at the start of this postseason and they were pinch hitting for solari and Eddie Rosario frequently. You're just trying to low their opponents into a false sense of security. Right. I'm going to take an over. I'm going to take the mark kana over. And this is somebody I also could have listed as someone I was highest on relative to consensus. I love Mark khana. I think he's super underrated. And I think he's much better as a hitter and as a flexible defender than he gets credit for basically by us. I think that there will be a lot of demand for him on teams because he fits a ton of places. He doesn't embarrass himself in the field. And I don't think it'll take a lot of years to get him, but trade rumors has projected him for $24 million guarantee. And I think he'll do that. Okay. There's like, you know, there's an incentive to go with some of the bigger guys because if you get the direction, right? Right. The gap might be meaningful after that. And with that in mind, I guess, I can't it was my next pick. I'm gonna take the underarm semien, they have 6 years and a 138, and I think the age and the fact that he will have to go back to second base even if he starts at short in the course of this contract means that he'll do a less well. I think both in terms of years and guarantee, but they might end up being around there. So yeah, semi and sorry. I love your career turnaround, but I think you're gonna make a little less money than I think. Okay, I think I will take another under, I'll take Alex wood under, I think they have Alex wood at three and 30. Yeah, they have them stuff pretty good. Seems like a lot for Alex would have just going to put that out there. He signed last year for dollars..

"Todd raiden is a chief executive of our weekly quiz. He's a graphic artist who's working be sent in ballfield all across America all around the world, or you can go to his website Todd radham dot com and Todd is our closer. Congratulations. I think that's appropriate Tod. Well, buster I don't know if I am the closer because annually the late commissioner of baseball a Bartlett giamatti is truly the closer. But that said, I'm happy to be the 8th inning guy, hand the ball off and conclude this amazing season, congratulations to the braves. And to brave spans everywhere, including your son, Jake. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, and today I get to bring get to give him his World Series swag. He's very excited about that later today, and I'm sure that, you know, he probably showed up at school with a brave sweatshirt and probably had fans of the Yankees and mets running in the other direction among his peers. Real quick, yeah, and far to yamani first passed away more than 30 years ago, which is why you are the true closer, but we're going to be hearing from the former commissioner with his reading of greenfields of the mind, but you were telling me before we got going about an interesting connection with Bart giamatti. Yeah, buster, I have a close friend of mine who is a sports attorney and worked at the commissioner's office for some time. And he was hired by barchi amati in the middle of all of the Pete Rose messiness in 1989. And for those who are not intimately familiar with the details, it was an ugly time. And you can imagine being a young attorney being a hired into that environment and working long, long hours and not really getting to know your boss. And he has told me stories about the fact that Archie amade would come to him very late nights and say listen, you know, we're going to go out to dinner. We're going to get there. We just have to power through all this. And of course, Bart giamatti passes away, very tragically, very suddenly. And regrets are ahead. And buster, it's impossible and you can get into this, but to think about a man of letters. President of Yale University. And a lover of baseball like most commissioners are probably all, but it's really difficult to comprehend this particular man being the commissioner of this sport. I think he was brokenhearted by the by the Pete Rose situation because it was clearly a part of him and you're going to hear that in greenfields of the mind that he had such a he hung on to a romantic feeling for baseball. And so the idea that he was going to be the one who is going to kick out the guy who got more hits than anybody else in the history of baseball and say what you want about Pete Rose. It was clear that Pete loved to play. I think that that was devastating for Bart giamatti on a different level, which is why along the way, he kept on trying to give him opportunities to put himself in a better position, Vis-à-vis baseball. Please admit everything. Tell us everything, so we can get this on the table so we can get back to rehabilitating you into baseball and Pete never took those opportunities, you know? So and I'm sure that that absolutely weighed on bar giamatti and what turned out to be the last month of his life. Okay, let's get to this week's quiz. The last quiz of the year. Weeks 34 gentlemen. Taylor, 6 wins, buster, 11 wins. There have been 16 ties. We already held their parade. Like my parade went in two parts in the center of downtown downtown Randolph center Vermont and going past the farm. We did that months ago having wrapped this up. But go ahead. And that took about three minutes, probably, right? Well, then this is 30 seconds. This is the perfect question for week 34. The world champion Atlanta Braves share the same red and blue pantone colors with this club. Is it a, the royals be the cubs? See the cardinals or D the Blue Jays? This club shares the same red and blue pantone with the world champion braves. Royals cubs, cardinals, or Blue Jays, Taylor. That's got to be the Cardinals, right? Wait, don't give the answer yet. He said, you got to be the Cardinals. And here's an interesting question because I feel some on certainty in Taylor's answer and while I am badly colorblind and probably can't see the same pan tones as Taylor Ken, I sense an opportunity here. He's saying the Cardinals, boy oh, boy. You know what? I'm gonna go with the Blue Jays. Jorge soler has stepped up to the plate and hit it, hit it, hit the snot out of the ball. It's still going. Is there a stewardess on this flight? Because it's the Cardinals Taylor. Yes. Eat it buster. Sorry about that. I had to. I had to. Well, you know?.

"With a four star recruit and Brian cardwell who carried the ball 7 times for a 127 yards, have to imagine he will get a fair share of touches in this particular spot as well. And for all the reasons that you highlighted, I mean, there's no reason to believe that Washington will have a tactical advantage, especially when you look at how conservative they are by nature on offense and the limited playmakers. They have on that side of the ball. Breaking news, by the way, pain, I know you're always much more disciplined about this than I am in terms of putting your phone to the side. One of the NFL games, a marquee game this upcoming weekend will lose one of its marquee players, a Green Bay Packers will be without Aaron Rodgers for their trip to Kansas City to take on the chiefs, COVID protocols there. It's a game that obviously will break down or maybe we won't now in greater detail in the NFL podcast. This, of course, won't be news to a lot of our loyal listeners, though by the time this podcast breaks. That's not good. But it is good for those that took under 55 and a half yesterday. Congratulations to those fellows. I will have to assess that situation once we get off, but certainly not the best news. For Green Bay, that is that is for sure. However, all things right, in the land of mahomes. That is a big help. Here we go. Getting a nice defensive end as we project it helps. Hoping they would land Devante Parker, those conversations, stalled a little bit. Big game for the chiefs. Gotta get back above 500, buddy. 6° of separation for pain inside. I do love and Patrick that all my I do love that all my optimism has turned you into a chief's hater. Because like two weeks ago, you're on board, right? Two weeks ago, you were like, oh my God, this offense is really dynamic and the only thing that's happening here is the turnovers. And then I get texts and I see you online. This offense just we got gunslinger. That's what we go. We got gunslinger mahomes out here slingshot in the ball from interesting launch angle. We got a team that didn't want to run the ball against it to lighter boxes, then suddenly we get the emergence of Derek gore in that 20 point outburst against the Giants. I know we're working with borrow time that Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes will get it figured out. But I have to take my shots while I can because I'm gonna have to listen to you for the next ten to 12 years. Be unbearable about what Patrick Mahomes means to the sport and how Diana he is in command of the NFC west. I never wish harm on anybody, but if Jackson mahomes broke a leg and wasn't able to attend games anymore, that'd be fantastic. And, you know, just too much distraction going on right now from home. Hopefully they get that thing figured out. So it happens when you have to try and figure out how to make the Kansas City Royals relevant. You can understand why he's a little bit distracted when he sees that roster from game one through game 162. But of course, I don't want to get too far off. What happened last night? How did Kansas City let solar go? I mean, you have to give the braves credit. I mean, our Yankees go out there and acquire every big ticket item in Joey Gallo and Anthony Rizzo. Meanwhile, here are the braves cobbling together a lineup with Eddie Rosario, Jack Peterson, Adam Duvall and Jorge soler as key contributors in route to their first World Series in almost 30 years. Just GitHub, baby. Stop throwing jabs at reso, by the way. No, Rizzo's. I mean, he's gonna be the cornerstone of our Yankee team going forward. You know my feelings about local Las Vega Joey Gallo. I don't think the Yankees need more guys that are home run or bust in that lineup. We had some data entry issues for Green Bay and Kansas City. Somebody just posted the total of 27, even with Aaron Rodgers out. I said, it's a touch off. I mean, I'd want to go over 27 if I was given that opportunity. I'm not quite sure I'll be able to sneak a bet in fast enough to be able to take advantage in that regard. All right, we got one last game to go and this is more about name cachet, more so than anything that we're going to see from a level of competition. And of course, it's an evening affair in Tuscaloosa. Where Alabama can put the final nail in LSU's coffin, although they think they've been dead about 37 times so far this season, crimson tide more than a four touchdown favorite, total in this game, 66. When you look at Alabama, they've won 9 out of the last ten. LSU's last victory came back in 2019 en route to the national title. Interesting if you do your reading this week, Alabama players have not forgotten what it felt like for LSU players to celebrate on their field at Brian Denny. Not quite sure that's going to set up all that. Well, second street season at LSU goes into their annual showdown against Alabama unranked. It hasn't happened since 2002 1001. LSU has more or less ran a gauntlet over their last 5 games, old miss Florida, Kentucky, auburn, and Mississippi state. Against an Alabama offense that's now scored 30 or more points in 34 straight games. The longest streak in FBS history, no reason to believe it's going to stop on Saturday with an Alabama team that's won its last two games by a combined 68 points since losing to Texas a and M as a 19 and a half point favorite. I give you all of this pain to read Ed or Chiron's quote. When coach O is asked about the number and being a 28 point underdog, we don't pay attention to that. This is the first I heard of it. I remember I was at old miss. We came to play LSU when we were at 27 point underdog, and we went in overtime. Those games can go either way. They're a very good football team, give them credit, but we're going to be ready to play. Just LSU have enough to sneak inside the four touchdown tariff. That is the big question, and we're talking about this game, obviously, because of program stature, and its a rivalry game. Alabama is going to win this game. That's not the question. The question is by how much? And kind of digging through some numbers and doing some reading as you did. There's really two things else you have to do to stay within this number. And not get humiliated. And the first is through the air, max Johnson and illusions passing game has to have success here. And if you look at season long metrics, it would appear they have a chance through the air against Alabama. Secondary is kind of been the weak spot of bam as defense outside the top 50 in both passing success.

I can't decide who I'm happier for Freddie Freeman or Ron Washington. Who are you happiest for? I say, why not both buster? There's just so many different people and so many different levels. Look, Alex and Doppler, the general manager, I thought he did a terrific job. You know, it was kind of a bummer that he wasn't there at the them actually winning last night. You know, Freddie Freeman, that was awesome. Dansby Swanson, you know, Vanderbilt guy, Kyle Wright, Vanderbilt guy really happy for them. You know, it was fun watching Jorge soler go through Ozzy albee's. And Eric young, their first base coach, he's someone that I worked with on baseball tonight years ago, great person. He was in tears at the outset of the World Series as he described what his experience would be. So a lot of people you're happy for. And you know what I'm happy for dusty baker that he got this experience is I mentioned, I think this is pretty much cemented that he's going to get the Hall of Fame. Got to be a Hall of Famer. That would be a travesty if he was not. Let's go to T Jones at TN J 6 two 9 T Jones rights in. What were the odds when freed's leg was spiked in the first thing that they would win that game? What do you think buster? What do you think rev? You know what, when I was watching it, I actually didn't think I thought he was gonna be okay. I don't know why that was the first thought that ran through my head, but maybe I watch too much soccer in their stomping on ankles a lot over there, but I didn't have the feel of dread that I'm sure most people felt. No, and I think he got lucky in that the base runner Michael Brantley actually wasn't wearing spikes. He was wearing cleats. So that was a really fortunate turn for him. And I asked max after the game, I got the feeling that that completely woke him up. It was like a boxer getting punched with a jab in the first ten seconds of a fight. And max, you could hear it in his voice. He's like, I'm not going to let this happen again. Because he had that rough start in game two and he was simply not going to relent. I think it got his backup, which is really cool. Love that. Let's go to Reggie at Greenfield of the mind. Reggie rates and buster Taylor and the crew thanks for your great work this season. Other than on championship night in 2017 when the series ends I immediately turned to the hot stove before I asked my question. Braves fans enjoy this because you may wait another 20 years or more Regis question is, will a bunch of qualifying offers get handed out or will they'll be a few and for those players who get them is the smart play to say thank you, but I'll take it and truly be free after the 2020 season. 2022 season excuse me. Yes, there are a bunch of players who will get qualifying offers all those elite short stops that we're going to be talking about all winner. They're certainly going to get them other players who'll get them most turned them down. I haven't dug into it really deeply, but every year now it seems like there's one or two. I'll give you one. Stephen Matt, for example, there's a conversation about whether the Blue Jays might give him.
