Giannis-less Bucks cruise to 105-96 win over Hornets

"A night after scoring 40 points in a loss to the Lakers, two time MVP Yanis sante to compose sat to rest a sore knee. No problem, Bobby portis led the bucks with 20 points as Milwaukee cruise to a one O 5 96 win over the Charlotte hornets. Everybody sacrifices everybody works entirely, you know, extremely hard on this team. There's no egos. Everybody just wants to see everybody wearing. Jordan Mora added 17 points and Brooks Lopez and javon Carter each scored 14 for the bucks. Terry Rozier led the hornets with 26 points, but Charlotte had its three game home winning streak halted. I'm Ben Thomas.

"Think they're more or less kind of trotting grace now and out there now. Which i think he's fine. I think stevenson zoa at full held is better than he is. So we'll we'll see you know. But i basically think you take their top three. Obviously drew and chris middleton you take on us i think you take you can even swap certain guys out. I don't love the idea. Portis out there but if you just want to rain threes on people and have that threat and if he's gonna play like finals bobby portis and mayor bobby portis than maybe even throw him in that. Mix I tend to think what do you think that jordan mora. I want to see a more but certainly there have been moments already. Where it's like. Okay this guy. This guy's a threat and there've been a couple of guys quite frankly you know duarte from the pacers man like on some other stuff already. There's some talent in this class. It's really i think for me. Some people like well duh. Could've told you that. How did you not know that. I don't really watch much college basketball outside of michigan. I don't have the time. We were tasked with watching so much pro basketball shots. Jeremy wu and different people to have to watch the college can it can it can. I can i interject. We're we're sending the shutout to jeremy for the beliefs that actually ranking that. He had where he had the boston. Celtics in his power ranking. I'm sorry woo will will will not be discussed or mentioned ever again on the podcast. I continue chris. I'm sorry will just generally man. No there's some real shooters in this class. There's some real players 'cause we've already talked about mitchell obviously We haven't even seen kid cunningham yet. Jalen green has been really impressive in moments. That gaming up the celtics. It's been really fun to watch it. Also franz wagner like had a really nice game yesterday again she ex. Yeah and i knew he was like i watched plenty. So i know he's good. But i there's a lotta guys just have so much upside seemingly and they're making impacts already in their first week in the in the game so anyway yeah. Nora could be a possibility there too. I mean i think my point is that i think you basically have four guys that i think even shindo is one of the four you would want and then that fits buyers this kind of open. Like they've got so many guys on that roster that could potentially fill it a little bit bigger with somebody like ports. You want that threat there. If you wanna go with nora if you wanna go with if you wanted to use grayson allen i guess you could theoretically but to be determined on who the fifth guys but i think even along with holiday middleton janas i i if your take your chances with that so be it but it's enough creation up shooting certainly enough defense and it would be a scary unit for anybody to have to play games. Yeah i mean the obviously honest let you do really fascinating things. Because he's gone and enough. Said the i thought you were going to say the warriors to be honest when you were like. I'm just going to keep this simple and obvious not yet. I i keep saying. This is my my. You know broken record. I i wanna see clay back. I once you play back. I think the potential for that throwing him out there thrown steph out there pool draymond potentially scary..

"Went down, I just think they didn't have another guy to be able to step up. I think George Hill is a good guy to be that guy. I think that the box are going to be a much better regular season team. Robbie kaladin and I talked about that on the Eastern Conference over unders. Just looking at who they went out and got like they're going to get a full year out of Bobby Boris and Brooke Lopez again. They have George Hill, they have Dante divincenzo coming back from injury. They are probably going to get more minutes from Jordan Mora. They brought in shimmy oh, to steal some of those tougher defensive minutes that Yanis has to play. Hopefully, if you need to have like a bigger body who's like a big forward in there like chemi can take ten of those minutes maybe. They just have enough guys now to be able to eat up minutes and that doesn't even include Grayson Allen, right? Or maybe you get like the wild card that is Rodney hood to be able to play 15 minutes a night and be good again. Ronnie hood was another guy that I was thinking about, but, you know, my expectations are pretty low there. If he gives you anything, it's great, but yeah, you're not gonna get much. Yeah, no, totally agree. But this seems just deeper than what it was last year and I think that's really gonna help them in the regular season. And I think that's important, particularly, given the fact that both Chris Middleton and drew Holliday are coming off of very, very long seasons, including the finals and the Olympics. So getting them as much time to rest as they can, playing them a few fewer minutes per game. I think would really help them in the long run. The guy that I picked here is patty mills. And it's for obvious reasons that we have no idea what's going to happen with Kyrie Irving. Again, we should just continue to say that. We have no idea what's going to happen with Kyrie Irving. Patty mills, though, his proven that he can be a really valuable piece on a winning team, both in the Olympics and with San Antonio over the years. He just continues to get better. It feels like with age, he is so creative with the ball in his hands. He's such a ridiculous pull up shooter. He is definitely not like a like for like he's a like for like replacement with Kyrie. He's nowhere near the level that Kyrie brings. But I do think that he'll be able to eat up a significant amount of minutes that if Kyrie does not play in some home games, having patty mills around is going to be increasingly important for the Brooklyn Nets going forward. And he also can run your bench. You know, I mean, he's a real professional basketball player in every sense of that word. I love that sign. I love patty mills. I think he is one of the best bench players of his era. You know, when you just think about the importance of his role and his ability to close games even. Having a guy who's going to be able to move the basketball the way he does, space the floor, quick, willing shooter. It's going to be good for them. I can see him getting some starts here and there. Like you mentioned with Kyrie and his status being up in the air. Yeah, I love that signing too..

"Malachi fact is someone that's like a little bit off the board right now that I ranked at 70 and I think it was low on Isaiah livers has been really good this year. And the thing that I think he's really good at that. I did not anticipate was defense. I didn't really love him on the defensive end last year. I thought he was slow-footed. I thought he was really going to struggle to keep up with NBA Talent Wing. I still have some of those concerns but like he's very clearly like right in the same ballpark as Jordan Mora right in terms of what defensively am overall talent. I think like he's a 46% point shooter. Who's yeah about the same size war is probably more explosive. Vertically I think livers is better off. Defensively than war is like he's has better instincts. He gets better effort. Like he's I mean, there's reason that their defense is good as he is is it is and like I think the biggest part of that is Franz Wagner right off but I mean livers is a pretty good Defender. Oh, he is pretty good. But the the swing set for me. There's the jumper like the to shoot 46% from 3. That's six foot seven. Like that's the thing that's going to suck on the floor of the NBA. And one thing we haven't talked about like super extensively either is that how much does winning and being successful in being part of one of these super teams at a Gonzaga a Baylor a Michigan kind of increases your NBA stock because everyone else around you is playing. Well, you're getting twelve sixteen twenty points per game within the game the offense and yeah. Oh, yeah PS we're going to be a one seed and and now we're two in the country. It's like how much does that play into him? Even a guy like Davion Mitchell too well, and it's just getting the spotlight to yourself. Right? Right. Sure even tonight wage. You know, we already talked about Michigan State and Indiana plays doesn't Illinois plays Michigan tonight, right? Yes, 7:00. Yeah, so I'm just in the Big Ten there are like multiple enormous games. Let alone Taylor West Virginia earlier, right and who else played today? There are like a million games. I feel like I'm not even like Duke Georgia Tech Duke has players that NBA teams are interested in watching Kentucky Place, Mississippi. Everyone wants to watch Kentucky right now, Arkansas, South Carolina. Now, you know Moses Moody exists, Auburn Alabama to Sharif Cooper play tonight, Alabama obviously has a ton of interesting guys Marquette DePaul, like people are still somewhat interested in. And God. Yeah. I don't think you should go pro this year, but there's some interest there Vanderbilt plays LSU like they're they're just a number of games Texas plays Iowa State, Texas Tech plays like there are song Me games to keep track of four NBA evaluators that you getting the spotlight on your own like you do in the NCAA tournament. I think just kind of focuses their attention in a real long drives me nuts though too because it's also so many hours in the day and so many games can watch like that's why.
