"Available number out there shop around. There's a couple of places still dealing the hook on the floor. But I think the interesting part about this game is the ability to achieve something nobody thinks you can comes without pressure. And that's how the Jaguars are playing right now. The division is still in reach, but there really isn't any talk of them potentially winning that division. And then there's some injury stuff that's interesting here. Andre Cisco, one of the best defensive players for Jacksonville, looks like he's going to be back this week. Practiced in full on Wednesday, massive upgrade there for the Jags. For Dallas, Terrence Steele, out for the season. He was their best lineman. The cowboys secondary without Anthony Brown and Jordan Lewis really started to downtrend and you have Trevor Lawrence who's growing confidence by the game has not thrown an interception in the last 5. That passing offense is really showing some signs of life. Then you just look at Dallas, right? You kind of hinted at this off there that the passing offense hasn't been playing overly well. And we always have this sentiment of coaches and GMs will tell you what they think of their team. The OBJ sweepstakes and signing TY Hilton and all of those elements here just tell you what they think about this passing game right now. And if you look at some of the underlying metrics for Dallas's throw game, it's not great. Relative to expectation. Then you look at the schedule the last three weeks Todd. It's a giant team that's downtrending. It's a colts team with just some media guy as their head coach. It's the Texans. And you look at how those games are played. It's the Giants are leading at halftime in a game the cowboys are a double digit favorite. The colts are down to heading to the fourth quarter. And the cowboys are a double digit favorite. It's the Texans leading with under a minute to go as a three score underdog. And they just kind of keep escaping with winds and so their market price continues to stay high, but the reality is they're just underachieving. And so I think that's ultimately what you're getting here with Jacksonville plus the four. It's still a nice value spot still show some value in the number and ultimately I think they're going to have some sex being able to throw the ball here. Hey, it should be an interesting game to watch. I mean, this is a Jacksonville team who we've seen some of their best performances come backs against the ravens looking dynamic offensively last week against the Titans sandwiched around a lethargic effort on the road against the Lions, which suddenly looks a heck of a lot better. As you saw, Detroit do its best to kind of stymie what the Minnesota Vikings have done. So even this late in the year and one of the markets it's more efficient. Public perception can oftentimes play a role and can give betters the opportunity to capitalize on teams that are trending in very different directions. All right, my friend, we've covered a lot of ground 6 games broken down as extensively as we know how to do our schedule for next week. We'll be back on Monday and Thursday for the NFL trying to figure out exactly what a potential college podcast might look like. And again, more reason to follow bet the board on Twitter. So you can get all of the updates right there available at a moment's notice. Anything else you'd like to share with the listeners before we wish them the best of luck on another busy NFL weekend? No, that's everything. Make sure you figure out where Bobby petrino is located. We don't want Nick on the back of a hog whippin up and down the Vegas strip. We'll keep tabs. We'll make sure we keep our House in order around these parts with Bobby petrino's impending arrival.

"And then we go back to our discussion Monday night. Aside from Cooper cop, who else is keeping defensive coordinators up at night right now. And he's helping as an inline blocker, almost like a second tight end. Stafford's intended air yards are now the fourth lowest in the league, so there hasn't been much pop downfield. The Russian game is below average and schedule just efficiency. Maybe that's an area where you find success against Dallas because that's the area we pinpointed where we didn't necessarily love the interior of their defensive line. They were hoping for some young guys to step up really hasn't been the case. Dallas is 25th against the run this season. So maybe you have some success just handing the ball off there a little bit more than usual. You'll alleviate some pressure from Stafford. Make the cowboys have to worry about both the run and pass. So they can't just pin their ears back and pummel Stafford who's been sacked on nearly 10% of drop backs this season. Quickly on the other side of the bull. The rams defense has been solid stopped in the run. Third and schedule adjusts to Russia efficiency. The ram secondary hasn't been great. Jalen Ramsey not playing to his normal level. Troy hill, on IR, Jordan fuller dinged up for this game won't be out there. And you think about the cowboys receiver group, it's getting healthier with Gallup and Schultz back and you have Noah Brown emerging as a compliment to CD lamb. And sure, Cooper rush looks competent. And his starts, it's all you can hope for as a cowboys fan. He's won some important games. As you're buying time for Dax return, but look who Cooper rushes played. The Giants in Washington are not good defensively at all. And once the bangles made some adjustments, Dallas scored 6 points the final 45 minutes of that game. Dallas won, but finished 21st in success rate on offense week two against Cincinnati. You put those two things together. And you can see why this total has gone from 45 and a half on the reopen to as low as 43 this morning blowing through far and away the largest key number in totals of 44 here. What do you make of the side kind of being placed in no man's land? We talked about the look ahead number being as high as 7. It did get as low as four before it looks like there was a little bit of an appetite for the favored here as we sit stagnant in that 5.5 and a half range. That's always the debate you're going to have as a handicapper because you go back just to that week two game I referenced against Cincinnati and a 7 and a half point home dog. Now all of a sudden you go out on the road against a desperate rams team and you are a four and a half point dog. So the market is really doing one of two things. Probably overvaluing or probably both. Overvaluing Cooper rush in the Dallas Cowboys based upon who they've played in beaten. And your downgrading the rams of a public humiliation on Monday night against the forty-niners and then obviously didn't look good in prime time against the bills to open the season either. So I think that's probably where some of the value was realized by professional veterans who got out and laid the rams at some cheaper prices this week. Ultimately, I don't know where the next move goes. It feels like this might be the right number pending some injuries, right? Do you get the two linemen back for the rams? And if you do, suddenly, you might have a chance to be able to pass protect against the cowboys. Jordan Lewis for the cowboys in the secondary is also a little bit dinged up. You'll have to monitor that. So I think the next move will be based upon the injury report, as we said here in no man's land to your point at 5 and a half. But some sharp money on the rams earlier this week, certainly kind of buying low. Hat tip to the cowboys overall body of work, not necessarily offensively, but Dan Quinn a coach that we took plenty of shots at over the years when he was in charge in Atlanta. Definitely paying dividends for everything they've done defensively. Mike Parsons this week basically scaring every cowboys fan saying he would go to the ends of the earth for Dan Quinn. We'll see what that actually means if Quinn gets another head coaching job when Parsons hits the open market theoretically. I will give him McCarthy credit as well pain. He was a little bit of a poet channeling his inner Walt Whitman this week. He called the defense the thermostat of this cowboys team all about regulating performance. So lord only knows what that means as they make the trip out while I should be a great game to figure out if the rams can get themselves back on track. And if the cowboys can get their signature win on a young season, knowing dak Prescott's waiting in the wings, most likely to return as starter in week 6. "Looking. They just kind of have like a similar posture her camera like they do have a similar imposture and seem to bring in an interesting energy. To that group. And we obviously could talk about Maryland all day. But we should stop at some point because we have a lot of time to talk about this team. I think they're going to big heights. And where is he? We're going to know a lot more about them by the end of the week. Yes. Or not, depending how you feel about these injuries. So we'll see where they are though. I think they got a great coach. I will see them in March, be the team that they are, but if they can come through this stretch here without two huge players to them and possibly a third without diamond, we're talking about the best team in the country, rather than one of them. I didn't want to mention Baylor just really quick, as I mentioned, Jordan Lewis and Sarah Andrews really impressed me. Melissa Smith excellent, as you mentioned, there's like 8 scouts from the WNBA there. And they were there. Hey, there's a lot of great players on the floor. They were all there for the show. They all came for the show. And queen agbo is nice. I think they're, you know, first off, they're getting reset new system. And second off, I just think there's kind of it's not the perfect mix for winning in March. And we'll see but I think they certainly have a chance in the big 12, and I think that Texas bailout game this year is probably going to decide where what's going to happen to them. And I'm looking at their schedule now just to make sure there's not any other huge games that have Michigan on the 19th of December. I don't know what kind of torment that is. Maybe your cat knows that. I know. I was Dewey's having seen a song, sorry about that. So yeah, they have Michigan, the Michigan's obviously going to be a huge game, but they have some time to figure it out. But did you see anything from Baylor that that should make me a little bit more confident of what their mix is going to be when it comes to march? Yeah, I think they're still ironing some things out under Nikki Collin and what she brings. I mean, she's one of those basketball supplants, Gabe who studies the game. I was learning. I was taking notes talking to her, you know, prior to the Marilyn Baylor game just on her philosophies on defense in particular and some of the reads on pick and rolls and what they call it and why they call it that. I mean, honestly, had like the actual notes. And I was asking her questions. I was like, okay, the game is coming up, but tell me again on the spectacle. And they're like, what is that called? And she was telling me all this stuff. And it was really fun, but she's just one of those people that breathes and lives the game. And I just love talking to her. And I love that she's taking this challenge of going to a team that has won three national titles and a perennial tournament winner in the big 12. So you know, for them coming into the Maryland game, I know the last 5 years. They have led the country and defensive efficiency. And I know that that's going to take some time to get back to because yes, you have two of your starters back from last year's deep postseason run. But at the same time, you have a new coach that's coming in with a new way, a couple of new words, terminologies are a little bit different. So I think it's just going to take them some time to iron out what Nikki Collin expects from them, but boy, what we saw on Sunday was pretty darn good because oh my gosh, absolutely. And I think, you know, they're missing three starters from last year's team and they still came in seamlessly. Under new direction, you know, less than ten games into the regular season. So I still think it's hard to quantify what they're going to look like. But I think the sky's the limit just because of what they look like against Maryland and the adjustments in game that they were able to make and they made a strong run at the end. And it was just tremendous game. So I'm excited to see what Baylor continues to look like moving forward because it's not just about Melissa Smith. I mean, they have balance. They have three point shots. I know Brenda free says this is the most in terms of volume of threes that we've seen from a Baylor team in a long time. So I think you're going to see some really good inside outside balance from Baylor this year. We've seen a lot of inside prowess over the years for that program, but I think now you're going to see a little bit of both. Yeah, no, it's going to be really interesting. It's also like Nikkie Collins getting used to the college game. I think I'll remember if you were Sloan said it, but she had mentioned that she had rarely seen zones in WNBA. And now it pretty much every game in college you're seeing it, you're having a zone thrown at you. And so those types of adjustments take time, not just for the players, but for the coaches. So I'm sure they'll look better. Just a little concerned about just how much is around Melissa Smith because you're right, it's not just about her, and Jordan was awesome, as I was saying, but just kind of, you know, how can you get the ball down to your are you taking good threes? Are you able to get those stops when you need it? Like, it has to come together for me first before I believe in the steeler team being like a national title contender. But certainly the talents there certainly the coach is good and certainly they have way more potential right now to get better because it gets all those things we mentioned. You want to talk about South Carolina. You can't do. I do. I do want to mention any other podcast on women's basketball starts off as South Carolina you come. Not this one. That's right. The talking Maryland, whatever. Let's get stuff going. Because we were courtside for the Maryland game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, also, it's very predictable on our podcast that we would talk about Maryland first. Where do you be friend DMV folks, but this game was awesome. 73 57 South Carolina wins, they hold Yukon to three, one, two, three points. In the fourth quarter, as the lowest point total, we have recorded in D one this year. I believe I forget what our stat was. I will look it up as we were talking. But wow, wow. I mean, you know, I.

"And that's where this Dallas Cowboys defense is vulnerable. And whether he plays or not, I'm not expecting Mac Jones to throw the ball deep all that much on this cowboy's defense regardless of if Trayvon Diggs is out there because that's how you turn the football over a lot on Sunday if you start to try to air it out against these guys. So it's interesting to hear you say that. Because the I think I said on Tuesday, right, when the ball's in the air in Dallas is playing in the game, something big is going to happen. If they're throwing the ball, it's probably a big play. If they're on defense, they lead the league in interceptions, thanks to Trayvon digs, obviously it was 6. Right. But they're also 31st in opponent passing yards per game. So a lot of that though is coming in garbage time. I saw that. But you know, well, dah has been up in a lot of games, right? So a lot of that is teams trying to come back against the cowboys. So all I had to, it's not just volume. They're 21st in yards per attempt. Against a game. So, you know, part of part of that garbage time right is you're just sitting back and you're allowing everything underneath. Teams are still able to, again, the yards per temp still up there. It's 21st. It's not asthma. It's a boomer bus defense in the past defense. Yes. Look, should they come out and try to be like the O 7 patriots? It huck the ball down the field all day, no, 'cause like you said, that's how you turn the ball over. I think, especially if there's no Trayvon today, 'cause I don't really love Dallas's corners behind Diggs. Remember, there's a reason we were talking all off season about how they were the ones they were the one team that kept coming up there, but he thought the Patriots are going to trade Gilmore, right? I think you're leaving you're leaving potential on the table if you don't at least take a couple shots. I think again, you shouldn't do it every play but I'd like to just on the first drive. Just see out goes, just on the first drive, if you look, it's been tough enough for them to get a second in one or second and two. But if you can get one of those kinds of situations, I think you gotta keep them on us. I think you gotta take some shots because I think the opportunities will be there if you structure them correctly. So Jordan Lewis is their nickel backer and the slot. He's a good player. Not exactly a guy that you're going to target deep anyway. It's not like you're throwing a Jacoby Meyers 60 yards down the field. If Trayvon digs doesn't play, I don't hate testing those guys down there. But I really do feel like watching them on tape looking at the numbers that their weakness is certainly in the middle of the field at the intermediate level. These linebackers, Michael Parsons, really great pass rusher struggling so far in his rookie season in coverage, which is what you would expect for a guy..

I know we're talking about anthony brown and kind of on this diatribe I mean that is a thousand percent offensive pass interference and you know what's funny is a year ago in the season opener. It was definitely a thousand percent. You know. Pass interference on jalen ramsey on michael gallup in los angeles. And that didn't get called and here in this game no pass interference. I know chris collins were talking and everything like that. that's all that is offensive. Push off there. That is a push off. There's no need to call it. Something that isn't that is a push off from chris. Godwin and it's it's just it's frustrating. It's fresh but you know like what's frustrating about this. Everyone who's joining us now. Welcome again this is our post game. Show here blogging. The boys. what's frustrating. Is that. it shouldn't have come down to that. It shouldn't have come down to needing to stop the box at the very end. I think that the cowboys defense played badly. But i think that they weirdly. I don't wanna say did enough. But they had they had serviceable stretches. But this game was. This game wasn't just lost by anthony round. It was lost by a collective effort of people involving anthony. Brown involving greg's again the cowboys lost by two. After greg's arline. I won't count the last. You know at the end of the first half ago but he missed that thirty one yard is very first one and he missed an extra point. I mean you know and we're just talking about the field goal. Greg's mr but if he makes that extra point then in different circumstances later in the game here maybe go to right like in so maybe that point comes from somewhere else. I mean you know the math of it all changes with greg's orland making that extra point and so that's that's the decision that the cowboys made. That is frustrating that they decided to make their bed with greg and now we all have to lie in it. They decided to make their bed with the secondary with anthony. Braxton john lewis and we all have to lie in it now a lot of you have dragged lewis in the comments. A rough go early on join louis. I do think that he rebounded. Well i think john lewis is among the better players on the cowboys secondary and not that that is a high bar clear necessarily but i think the join lewis played well. He played well down. Things got better for john lewis and so look doomsday says here and this is this is this is fair point because people are going to bring this up media killed this team for not getting any turnovers last year and chose whining about for turnovers. Your joke here's the joke doomsday. One of these turnovers was real. If you're if you really believe if you're gonna go to bed tonight and tell yourself that. The cow got four turnovers. You're the one telling the joke. Because the first turnover it was one hundred percent real respected demarcus lawrence. That's a turnover going in there. Poking the ball out and having randy gregory fallen it that is a turnover what happened with trayvon interception. That is just luck. That is the luck of the nfl. And that's a real factor. Luck plays a role in the nfl. Teams get lucky all the time. The buccaneers got lucky by chris. Godwin not getting caught for the but so that turnover is luck. That's not on the cowboys. Defense having skill. That's on the cowboys. Making a break on the ball at on anything like the third turnover. It was john lewis at the end of the first half. That's a hail mary. That's a fifty fifty ball by proposition. That tom brady's just flipping a coin that you can't you can't seriously count the jordan lewis. Hail mary and then the jordan lewis fumble recovery is. Yeah great good job by demonte z. Having his head you know in the right place and then he says the fourth turnover was real. Also i certainly agree that casey forced fumble that jordan lewis recovered was more real than the hail mary. But my point is the one that is the most real like medium steak on the plate is the demarcus lawrence forced fumble. The second one the third one definitely suspect the fourth and final ones has some serious quality to it but definitely also a little bit. You know you could poke some holes in it chris. Randall says the pass rush was not there. Tonight i think demarcus lawrence player demarcus lawrence. Excuse me played an incredible game. All things considered in. I am not somebody who harps on sack numbers. I think that's dumb. I think it's silly. I think it's low hanging fruit but you've gotta get home. I mean also a came out. And i'm not trying to throw him to the bus here but he came out when he met the media and said. Yeah tom brady. He's not that mobile. He's he's not that mobile he's just gonna stand at the pocket he's gonna do whatever etc blah blah blah. Okay fine. he's going to be in the pocket all night long. You gotta get home. You gotta get home. One time you gotta get home twice. You gotta get home osa if you're going to say he's not a mobile quarterback you've gotta have sack on the night and the cowboys came close. But they didn't. The cowboys did not get a single sack. Kevin says on on facebook passers was. There wasn't there because of how quick brady gets rid of the ball. Yeah i mean. Tom brady go like. That's a factor as well here but you have to get home. Let's see here. Christopher lopez de la needs to gets expert totally and christopher lopez. Don't give de.

"Are livestream. Just now starting if you're watching on youtube if you're watching on facebook come on in gath- around the campfire we're gonna have a talk about this. The dallas cowboys. I think we're really impressive in this particular game. Certainly a lot to look it and there are a lot of fingers to point. We're gonna get into that this. Is you know this is tough. So if you're just joining us welcome. We're going to do this after every single dallas cowboys game. We're gonna be here to talk. Commiserate celebrate whatever. The case may be obviously a little tonight. We're doing a little bit of all three but christopher lopez so cal here. What's going on And javier says same old defense. Computers make an annoyance. I don't know what that is but either way this was this was tough. This is tough to talk about here to talk tough to process. Aaron jumping right aheads. Is greg the loser for tonight. Sure we are gonna talk winners talk a losers we are gonna talk honorable mentions And i i don't think there's any way of getting around at the tonight. A loser for the dallas cowboys. Is greg zero line. Let's let's your thoughts your thoughts on greg's Let's see here one second. This is a hectic night. Obviously greg line just amber says. I'm so mad right now on facebook. i'm with you. I get this. You know an anthony says not the same defense Tony says push off definitely a push off there at the end cowboys losing. Because the buccaneers drive. If somehow missed the game drive at the very kick a game winning field goal which just about no time remaining cowboys. defense can't stop them in the cowboys. Defense i will say kind of was a little bit of the same old defense. We didn't get you know a defense that was just allowing the bucks going on and on and on and on but this defense did get four turnovers tonight. But if we examine those turnovers. I think the only real authentic one was the demarcus lawrence forced fumble demarcus. Lawrence is definitely a winner tonight. I think demarcus lawrence was awesome. But the first interception the cowboys had the trayvon digs on was a tipped ball. Off of leonard fournette. Yes that counts. Yes that's true. Yes that count statistically but you know that's not necessarily your defense making a play on the ball cowboys also got an interception on. Tom brady at the end of the first half throwing a hail. Mary trying something before the half. That isn't really count. Although jordan lewis certainly had valiant effort trying to run that back and get some points You know the last turnover. The one that kind of turned the game around a little bit. That gave the cowboys. an opportunity. There at the very end Was just kinda. Chris godwin you know running into devante. Casey's helmet those things aren't necessarily You know something. You can replicate on a week by week basis and so for that reason. It's hard to give the cowboys credit. For all of those turnovers it was a different type of performance at the exact same defense we. I think we definitely saw some improvements. I think that mike parsons played moderately. Well i think that demarcus lawrence has mentioned played while randy gregory was on things But this was. I mean man. What a rough game for anthony brown and i'm double checking here Just off hand because this is our live reaction show and it felt this way but in case you are wondering the dallas cowboys did not sack. Tom brady once at a single time. And you know a sack would've ended the game. Obviously at any point on that final driving cowboys just could not get home. And so. I think if you're putting the blame if you're trying to assign the blame say where does this blame ultimately fall for the cowboys. Who do i blame. Who do i point my finger attic cetera blah blah blah. I think that it's on the pass rush. It's on greg. And it's on mike mccarthy. I don't know that i'm necessarily ready to come out. And and roast mike mccarthy and say that this. This was a joke i mean. Let's be very clear here depending on where you look this week. The dallas cowboys were seven and a half eight and a half today. Certain sports books had the cowboys as ten point underdogs. The fact that the cowboys lost by two points is a testament to the fact that they can go toe to toe with even the reigning world champion. Now i get where you're coming from because you're gonna say screw that i don't wanna hear that i'm sick of of you know these. You know consolation victories. I'm sick of this moral victory. I'm sick of being able to go toe to toe. I wanna be able to win. I want to be able to beat these topics ought to be able to dominate these top teams and for the most part offensively. The cowboys did dominate. The buccaneers. And i think that that was something that really kind of shine through without it totally shining through. If that makes sense we do have some highlights. here. I thought there's no question. Dak prescott was marvelous. There are a lot of things us to be upset about. Talked about them already but there are a lot of pros takeaway from this game. Despite the fact that the cowboys. Now oh one on the season dak prescott. All these people thought. His arm had fallen off his ankle. Had fallen up house. He ever going to play again how he ever going to throw again. You didn't take any snaps. The preseason dak prescott returned and really from the gecko. You could just tell that it was gonna be a big night for deck playfully.
Cowboys Kicker Misses Two Field Goals in Dramatic Loss to Buccaneers

Charming's got six frozen one That's forever on my bus, and I'm cleaning. Charming's Got my booty been even shaman, Super mega roll, six regular rules and one Enjoy the go with Charmin. Mm hmm. We head to the fourth quarter here at Raymond James Stadium. And I bet you didn't know that you would go fishing in an NFL football game. But that's exactly what Antonio Brown did. But he cast the cast the lure out there and where the heck you're going with that? Where is he going with him? He got him. You got the second year quarter to take debate and both Mike McCarthy and the defensive backs coach where Allen the field talking to digs about it presents the blocks were the 1st and 10 straight ahead. Power football. One of the few times we've seen that tonight. From for net and the Bucks offensive line, But it pays dividends. It turns into an eight yard Kerry. Yeah, we said we said when we came back. We were going to talk about McCarthy being out on the field and you start talking about fishing. What I mean, I thought I would set you up down. That was so good Outdoorsman like yourself. Yeah, it was really good. I'm not used to that from you. It's Game one. It's all downhill. Look at that. Here we go. Alright, empty, said he ever Brady and the Bucks looking at second and short, trying to set up the receiver screen and what a job out there off the edge by Jalen Smith. Well fought off the blocker and locked on the receiver. The Bucks receiver didn't even block. That was, uh, that was Mike Evans supposed to block the corner. Mike, not the safety that's down deep. He didn't even block. Otherwise. That would have been. That would have been an easy first down. What was the first down, but no one third down to it would have been the first doubt. Quiet night. C b G N Mike one catch. Yeah, third and we'll call it along to empty backfield here. Brady looking to throw winds up Find his receiver right at the spot. And it is Nevins who atones for that miscue makes a four yard catch, and Evans immediately brings himself out of the game. It looks like he's hurt and did something to the shoulder arm, something Evans seven straight seasons of 1000 plus yards. First player in NFL history to do that, in his first seven years in the league, Scotty Miller comes into the game. He's out wide. Outside the numbers here to the near side, 1st and 10 just inside Dallas territory, Brady calling a check the line of scrimmage, Motor Center running play going to the left and running play going nowhere. Going to the right A great job defensively. Coming off the edge. That was Giron curse. Don't set up the interception before half. He better do something Micah Parsons got in there as well. Yeah. Yeah, that was. Yeah, That was Parsons. Who? Maybe it to stop and curse trying to get the ball out. That's one thing Dan Quinn has been preaching since he arrived, forcing turnovers. They've been successful tonight, generating three. Second and nine. Brady gets a shotgun snap number sign looks across the middle, finds his receiver, but it's knocked down by the Dallas defender Boy. He had Mike Evans. But what a job defensively. By Jordan Lewis, who stretched out Superman style and got just enough of a fingertip on it. The redirected past the awaiting hands of Evans. That's really a bad throw by Brady. You don't see that very often. But you did there It was way behind Evans. Heavens is running the sideline route and it's back behind him, and he throws him out front of him. It's an easy reception for first half bucks three of nine on third down conversions tonight. Well off there, 48% Mark last year. Here comes the blitz. Brady steps up. Has a receiver there. Chris Godwin had his hands on it as he began to adjust but couldn't haul it in. Well, You see what Brady did there, Kevin is. Yeah, the safety coming from the middle Godwin running down the field. He threw it over the outside show where Godwin has to change. Look over the other shoulder to try to catch that ball. It's a tough catch. You still should have made it look into the inside and last second, trying to adjust back Yep. Cowboys will take the stop any way they can get it. That's a great throw by Brady. That's a play that at the end of the season last year, Godwin would have made Yahoo no opinion comes on upon. He's at a terrific night Cowboys lining up like they're coming after it. Yeah, well, there's nobody covering the wide field, right? Yeah. Kenyan punching this one. Lamb makes the catch at around five or six opinion has earned his money tonight. Yeah, he's done. 11 53 to go here in the fourth quarter. Cowboys defense get to stop offense has the ball but the defending champion table Bay Buccaneers leading 28 26 time out on the field. You're listening to the NFL on Compass Media.

"Thing for the Cowboys. It was after the play was over. So it goes up to where this so the bucks get the gain. In other words, they get the play 19 yards. I was thinking it was going to come back and Be offsetting penalties. But, uh, offsetting penalties, dead ball foul. Seeing that one goes for 16. And just like that, there in the red zone, and Danny this team was lethal in the Red zone last year, 95% of the time scoring they were 42 of 61 for touchdowns. In red zone trips. That was good for fourth in the league 53 wide here to the near side Now, God when motioning left, the right single back set is for net takes the handoff running straight ahead, gets a push mix contact, spinning back to the inside of that he Dallas defender and strong running there from Leonard Cornett. Pushes the pile down to about three yard line. Well, that pile just kept moving. And this is this is what the box do. You can't get Brady as much time as he had on that last play. It wasn't very long. It was about three seconds. With these receivers and these tight ends and he's running backs. You can't let him have the ball for that long. He will find somebody open. This Cowboys secondary cannot cover him for that long, Gronkowski single tight end over the right side. Single back set for net bootleg rolled to the right is Brady jumps the pass inside finds the big fella wrong for the Tampa Bay touchdown. 85th. Touchdown connection between Brady and while Gronkowski and Gronkowski literally posted up whoever that was that was trying to cover him, and Brady just flipped it to him. My guy bronc will get it looking at the replay trying to see who. Well, you had rock and Goodwin God when both standing there could have thrown to either one of them. You can see the Dallas defender Terrel Basham looked up and all of a sudden the ball was racing right past his eyes. It was Jordan Lewis that was trying to defend him. But Indefensible and defensively 9 48 to go here in the first half, the defending champs moved back in front. 14 7 over the Cowboys. More action from the field up next, you're listening, Encompassed media network. This is the.

"Couldn't even brought up at the end of the year is really hot and and remember how he was he was he was the best player. That's why he was. He was the pet cat the flavor of the week and he was the flavor of the waivers made our practice squad so he hasn't really done anything in preseason because he was injured so i think there's a chance that might repeat mitchell so all right so at the very so you think one of those guys so you'd think six linebackers on this roster keeping six. I gifford myself all right. That puts us a forty players. Thirty four plus to six. That's forty we have thirteen spots left for fifteen people that are still on his roster ready for this forgot. I forgot We have to keep our. I didn't count our quarterbacks. The number all right. So that's forty two forty. That's forty forty three. What i say forty-three so it's forty five. Okay so now. Forty five on a fifty three. So now we got eight players to go and there's fifteen players left on his roster so it's gonna get tight cornerback room okay. Trayvon digs anthony brown jordan lewis bosman fat which is kelvin. Joseph sean right maurice kennedy. Cj goodwin and deontay burton burton got burnt fourteen times. Today he's toast. Cj g- cj goodwin is almost a lock to make the team. He is the special teams extraordinaire. So he's staying with this team. So i think and i don't think any of those other guys get cut. I don't think any of them get cut so this this is this is getting tight because look they got digs and brown are going to be on your outsides. Right and then you have jordan lewis and the nickel and then you have the the two rookies joseph and right and you can't deny how good maurice candidate played this preseason. So that they're all they're all here that's going to be. Yeah there. probably they part ways with deontay burden. I'm assuming yeah but that's pretty nuts if you think about it okay. So how many how many more we have left. So we cut one. That's seven so we see we somewhere along the line. We messed it up and took too many guys which is fine. We have no time to go back. But yeah the safeties are here. Donovan wilson j ron curse me hooker is motto. Darren thomson tyler. Coles stephen parker i think parker and call no dice. Have room for you thomson. I love him thompson guy. I would hope they make the roster but again. This is a very busy room donovan. Wilson's the guy you would assume along with me cooker jake. J. ron curse was brought over by detroit. Not sure if he did enough but again when you bring somebody in you hate the just almost like a ha ha clinton dix thing where he didn't even see the field. You know what i mean like. So that's gonna that's gonna be the a rough room to decide. But i think they brought me cooker up to speed today. He had enough playing time today to kind of if he needs to start. He'll start you know what i mean. There's no i. I have no like gripe about that. I think that that's a fine thing. he's finally okay Is he had picked today. he looks good. It's weird man. We're we're if i had if i had to say they're going to. It's hard to keep five safeties. You know what i mean. That's that's a lot of safety. You keep three. I think we keep three three or four. So you're thinking wilson hooker khokar thompson. Thompsons my guy. It's hard to see thompson. But that would mean they're cutting z. In like a rough. That's that's a tough room to cut to. Who would've thought to too many. I think we already have too many offensive lineman. I think. I think if they're gonna make it up maybe all line. Yeah because you you know you got. You're saying night and what's a farmer. What's the other guys if whatever. That's a lot of offensive lineman especially when they always seemed like i told you if you play offensive. Line every offensive. Lineman has to know every what every other person's doing then after no it. They pretty much know every position on the line. So you don't you don't need that many because you guys or you're saying a little bit more on the interchangeable parts. You're okay with the lestat. Yeah i'm saying if they chew the fat. It's usually a lot okay. And i think receiver too. I think if they're going to. I think we just keep five. Maybe me tournedos and even make it seem you know. I mean. we'll see but right now yet. Oh jesus you know what. We're totally wrong. Because not only we. We did talk about. Cd-rom connor williams. And this. and. I'm remiss for for missing these guys carlos watkins on the line interior d. line too. That's why i think that means good trysted hill like that is like a good riddance again. Started to come on last year. Marinelli guy right. That's why i'm okay with not you know going nuts for him but the watkins being on there and another safety d'amato so yeah we're forgetting about casey so bright so this is listen. This is mike mccarthy said in his post-game today this is the hardest part about his job is that he has to narrow this team down to fifty three men and i know there's there's ours and there's you know i'm not sure of short term..

"You can kind of expand on And then we'll move on to another hot topic in in cowboys loin. This is kind of what i was going to bring up. I was gonna bring up. The fact that it's appeared as if montana's donovan wilson jerry around curse me cooker and daring and thompson are all kinds of the favorites here so they would need to keep five at least because kasi wilson curse and hooker making this team i think they love dairy and thomson as well i for the life of me. Don't understand it and that's not a knock against staring thomson or trying to be negative. I just think that the other five or better. Football players from what i've seen on the field and let it because the nfl can't get. Its crapped together. I can't actually watch the ultimate of these teams to see how they are actually playing outside of. Just what i see on the broadcast but what i've seen on the broadcast is is room equality making some place And i i feel like with that length with the Couple of years that he played at south carolina at cornerback. Before moving to the safety position. I think that he's still kind of learning it. And i think that he has a ton of upside at the position and he has a tunnel length in length is something that you guys know. I've talked about it a bunch. I hated corner. But i like that length. That safety is you're able to move israel. Mcquay can move a little bit so yeah. It's it's going to be tough. If we lose many ends up you know getting picked up off waivers but at the end of the day man. I just wanna see all these guys succeed and if he gets picked up somewhere ends up going and contributing somewhere else we lost out on a safety but at the end of the day you you don't expect him to be your starter anyways and i said at the end of the day twice which is something that we brought stephen up. Call what you talk about a little bit too. But i was also wondering like do you think there's a cia and again this. This is kind of big brain thinking it. But is there a chance that they only carry five corners. A key Who is like the fifth safety slash six corner in emergency situation. I could see that I guess who would you be. Would it be living off at corner. or you just adding. That's the thing man. It's so tough. I don't know if you can look at that situation. Yeah i mean the retraces jaunt logic makes just to talk about them. So people listening aren't doing themselves obviously a corner. Trayvon got kelvin. Joseph you've got new sean right. You got john lewis. You've got anthony burnham. I don't see them leaving. Las maurice kennedy after the off-season he had but he's still playing the third and fourth quarters of preseason games too so like that could be one that everyone on twitter. Every one of us is like what are you doing but daylight jordan they like anthony brown and maybe they look at it as yo you know we can get away with it. But i wouldn't love that either. Don't get me wrong. But i like. That's kind of move. Or maybe they keep candidate move on from jordan lewis or something like that. So the i guess the main reason why. I'm saying he does make the rosser of wine when i give a different opinion in the all too Because it logically make sense of. How steven mentioned him Might not be a spot on the roster for him. I mean just thinking about safety situation is a whole lot. We thought through saying how depleted they are right now. Now i know. I mean some of its precaution of they'll be protocols and all that kind of stuff but cities position. They've already been week at for while. Now obviously have some optimism. Donna wilson. You're hoping cooker brings values will casey's looked nice But said that there is not really something that i personally am couple boy. If one of those guys goes down which we obviously hookers struggled. Injuries threats entire career Casey's coming up. Achilles injury himself Then you would out you and when a guy like israel and the roster just for safety You notice for safety net behind them not to mention the talent he brings to the table so i think if they do wanna go deep go long at safety. I could see them keeping him. But yeah it's it's. I guess it's trying to figure out where they go short at On the roster brand make it by degree if they do cut him. I don't see him making the practice squad without somebody else. Picking them up. Yeah i Let's move only got a few more minutes that do wanna touch on jalen smith. That's been a big topic of conversation. Obviously he's been talked a lot about on on twitter after a. I guess you could say. I mean truthfully like you guys know like i'm not a jalen smith like true third defender or anything like that. I do think he probably gets a little too much criticism at times. So i i try to at least be a little fair with him. But truthfully like i don't know other than like making some nice run feels like we haven't seen a play in training. Camp that was highlighted by the video team. We haven't seen a plan in preseason. That really just made you go. Wow like it's been a uae off season for jalen smith and it's been talked about a ton. Jerry was on the radio today. This'll be out tomorrow so you probably already heard. It was on the radio today and he was asked about jalen and instead of answering the question on jalen pretty much talked about how good late vander issues but how he struggled stay healthy. How good. mike. Parsons is low. Tau kiana neal's a safety transit but he never said anything about jalen smith. I just wanna talk about john smith for a little bit like where we add on him is. See the you know. He's not going to get cut. I think we're all in agreeance there that that just doesn't make any sense to cut him right now because of his contract situation should they have moved on from him back in march. That's a conversation for different time. They didn't know they were gonna fall under. Michael parsons at gebriel cox. So i don't even like that kind of you know. I think that's a little hindsight twenty twenty to say that they should have done that in march but like i wanted to discuss a jalen smith thing air out all our grievances and in sewer. Everybody is on smith but a cold. I'll start with you where you out on jalen smith. What are your thoughts on his off season. And what are your thoughts on him and his future in dallas. Yeah i mean. I will say some of the edicts of criticism is probably a little bit overboard I mean sorry. I guess he brings apartments because of the brandy tries to build on that which i don't really blame for but i think that's why he rubs some fans there are way With the swipe being everything like that like you said he's decided quiet preseason he can even say maybe a little bit of his appointing bracing. Which is the last thing he really afford. When you bring in three linebackers this off. Season with the calgary Parsons boxing kiana neil You would think he was battling for established role for that starting position. Still you would have had at least one like you say. He's he doesn't have one play. Can point to as. I can still do this or do that. so yeah i mean. He won't be cut because the doesn't make financial sense of. I think we all will be pretty surprised that he's on the team next year but as far as this year. I don't see how he gets more. Snap stan Parsa instant bandrich than neil even cocked. His playing pretty well in the preseason. He had some special team values well. I don't really know where he bit on the roster and ano-. Pf app is in the end. All be all those. Preseason discount hearted take all their grades With you know one hundred percent and everything like that is interesting. That anthony hinds. Excuse me anthony hinds at a higher. Pf grade jalen smith. This preseason anthony hinds was When i buy players cut. So i mean i say the greatest inaba just kinda shows paint a picture of what his off season and preseason has been like He's in a bad position right now. I don't know how he climbs out of it. I'm curious how they They you know. Do the snap count and everything. How split that a love. They still give him um starter like snappy his salary or the all in on the new guys i think it'll be fascinating to watch. We really don't think could have afforded the preseason. These had to this point..

"Peace in the middle of the backfield doing something. And they had so much depth and watkins and brent urban and basham there are much better there and then at safety causey emily cooker cooker once upon a time was really good and they got him for a song basically and so he'll be back there and obviously they're just like digs and anthony brown or at least they're respectable at the corner along with jordan lewis so i just gave you the blueprint for defense. It's gotta be better than it was. Let go. That's not really saying they're going to be better than what they were last year when they were historically words. I don't know that was the second worst defense and cowboy history only worse by the nineteen sixty. Yeah which expansion with the and cowboy for them to be. That's not saying right. How much better can they stopped the road. Twenty eighth and one in twenty third category. Can they stop the road. I think with that linebacking core. You got a shock. Do i think they're going to dominate. No i don't but but they have to be fifty percent better than they were last year. And if they can be that and they can even achieve respectable on defense if dak is half of what i think he could be then. They're going to be a pretty good football. We're gonna find out a lot about that defense early on because we do this. What we know about tampa as the season progress especially the last seven eight nine games leading into the super bowl. That was as good as they had in the national football league. Yeah okay so you get an opportunity early on and they're to want to run to run the football with lynn. Afford net with a rodeo okay. So it's going to be bareback interest. You doubt that can have a bounce back year at barely age. Twenty six as you've seen enough over the first what's been five years. But it's just declining to carry skip carriers if he could have even a semblance of bounce back in the seventy five percent of rookie zeke. We got a shot. Okay tony pollard. Look good the other night but he always looks good to me right. Do i think he can be a a pro bowl. No i don't think he can be a pro can be respectable as long as you leave him in that role. Let him be splash. Don't try and give him twenty cares not what he is he. The guy comes in catches a screen gets gets a flat route. Yup could hit a quick run. Something of that nature zeke. Is you bail back. Let polar come in bellamy. He can give you that but if you think like man he he better than zeke. Let me start. Give him the ball. That's not what he is so just one. I'm getting semi excited about my defense here on saturday night that my new defensive coordinator dan quinn is on the covert list. Well that's not a great thing either. We're called good games giddy. I mean joe joe joe. Bits been around with bare behind. I got it but it just seemed funny to me..

"Speed is obviously a completely different beast than practice And you know you're playing against garrett gilbert in practice or ghanouchi and practice. It doesn't matter. But i think that jordan lewis is still one of my favorite guys on defense. I think he still goes into week. One as the starter opposing trayvon digs I just think he needs a little bit more a little bit more confidence right now. That defense is playing well as a unit. And i think he might like. I can't speak for him. I don't know the guy but he might feel like he hasn't been his name has been called enough in the preseason already. Well my my last one is a Sorry another. I are player mitch. No anthony hines thirties. I believe he played for texas. Am he's an undrafted. Free agent He he i believe he's he got out on a stretcher there in arizona not pull but he got like real doubts. I think his injuries pretty severe and he was doing okay in camp. And i think he's going to be someone that they use that thing with so they can hold onto. Because i think he might have kind of a serious injury sear but one that would either take even. The dog agrees one. That would take when that would take you know eight weeks or up right so come back from so. I think that's where i'm gonna go with. I don't think i did i. I also had on here. Receiver aaron parker. Who's another one that he he. We had him last year. I remember. Yeah we caught him. Put him on the practice squad and then you know he's back. I haven't been hearing anything about him. Taking a guy like hammer probably get caught in the next round. Yeah we'll see.

"To make the third for off a troopships reached cannot seek some really impressive since he joined the cowboys. And he's been here for going on two years. Now let's maurice candidate. I think he's a guy that doesn't need this week. In order to make the roster and know i to be clear that's not what we when we said five guys need to play well. We tried to reiterate. Then it may not quite me in. You know they're playing bad they're playing poorly might mean that if they play well again. You're starting to force a hand. And i feel like that could be something that happens. More with maurice kennedy. 'cause you got trayvon digs does your kelvin. Joseph's your jordan lewis's your ethnic brown's your cd goodwin's your nation rights like you got these five six seven eight even candidates who were slated to make the roster in kennedy's kind of maybe on the outside looking in right now if you're if you're a really hoping that jordan brown's sticks around but i mean he's playing so well in the scrimmaged games he's playing so the preseason plans one practice the point our like. I'm ready you know brady browner jordan lewis distant sanity and again. He's a new new face. New name to the team know why saul unless you're only opted out but he's playing extremely well this this whole off season and i think he could be a big part of this defense. If he plays up the levels he showed this off season. Yeah i'll be honest. How expecting a ton brown and Yeah i mean he did look really Good in preseason game. He's pretty solid training camp as well You weren't it up the other quarterbacks behind dot fresca sky you can save. They're not great or anything. Not some interceptions made. Some impressive plays on the ball. He's taken advantage of the opportunities in front of him. And i do think maybe sending out last year and getting fully healthy. That may help him. You know. I mean he's one hundred percent it looks like he's playing the best football his career playing with a chip on his shoulder But yeah no. I totally agree. I think that entering training camp a lot of us would have had 'em on the bubble making a roster or not maybe I mean. I think labile may have had him not on the roster may just mission ya'll or at least one of those last few guys on there But yeah it gained. Follow up that first game with another salt performance combined with his training camp and everything like that i think will make it very difficult for the cowboys to basser barnum. And not keep him on their officer Because nina vs keeps adding impressive performance after impressing foreman. So money's gonna pick him up what they'd be the cowboys or not So opposite of In the nucci whereas he needs a game to stay on the roster because He struggling and they got him. I think i completely agree with you. May skinny can abbott. He needs a strong performance to show the deserves in deserve to be on this roster because of what he brings to the table Because if the cowboys and keep them somebody else will be well. We quick sasha him up my and no absolutely absolutely agree with all that. I think the guy you want to touch on next gallon the offense align that you know head some spurs of playing time. Last year you know in oftens line was really banged up but then kinda fell off at the end and really didn't show a whole lot in that Week thanks to t mobile for supporting this episode and for keeping baseball fans.

"But what if you're running shoe could turn these forces into forward motion. Adidas explored five million laddis variations to find one sale. That redefines what running shoe mid sole can do their forty four. Running shoe is designed to move forward by turning vertical pressure into forward motion every single stride. Adidas forty four designed to move you forward. Yeah i mean some of the big guys like maurice candy are making plays like you're like oh wow okay. He wasn't he wasn't even like touted going into two zero with everybody's on the digs train. Everybody's on the you know the the right. The na nation. Right there on the calvin joseph. Everybody's talking about anthony. Brown jordan lewis. Nobody was talking about more scanning going into this. Preseason all of a sudden he's the one ball and more than anybody and if you guys have not seen that interception figgers as body look the touchdown catch from minnesota was unbelievable. Yeah the and he was out of position. And i mean it wasn't even his his guy covering right. Yeah you just saw full ball. Yeah yeah. That's exciting i mean. That's that's a foreign foreign substance for dallas cowboys fans. You know we don't really ability tackles behind the line of scrimmage which we were missing as well last year. They're gonna he's a. I love the dude. I really am excited about it. Like you remember his name in the beginning. Show talk about. I don't know anybody's name. I love him and he's like what am i remember. Remember when we first started this podcast. We're talking about all the money that press guy. There would be times where he'd be like. Yeah you know you gotta give them the money What's his name. Dak prescott able members shit route. Good but i will say this you know we talked about neil laying the would there was a scuffle. that that made headlines and it's connor williams against aaron donald. Okay now a lot of what is laughing. Because that's what makes a luther kirk. So he's because he can't remember a guy named dak prescott name he just blurted out this luther kirk safety one time my fantasy team. I remember that was last season. But go ahead. Sorry what those starts in my defense to. I was at the oxnard camps and even watching our quarterbacks i love romo before like i would watch him but i never whose name you're talking to like here's a guy like now it's not like collins worth. Here's a guy like bread earns who has to memorize basically an hour long comedy thing. Stand up comedy act and now he can't remember guys name safe. Maybe that's why there's no room in my brain. That's probably true. You probably tapped out. There's no bandwidth left. I got an hour and twenty. I'm working on. Yeah but i even screw up Who cares anyway is that i'm very excited. Plays he's going to tell me gregor kid. Yeah yeah i was going to say. He's going to be the one in the crowd with the program. Like nobody buys programs anymore. Brent does because he asked anyway connor williams aaron donald. Big little scuffle at practice Connor williams beats them in a one one drill when i say beats them Offensive line and defensive. Line drill beats them. Doesn't mean anything other than letting not letting connor williams to the quarterback and that's a big thing because connor williams aaron donald has been touted to be one of the greatest defensive lineman may be in our generation. You know what i mean. So all of a sudden connor shows up. And that's that's good man because here's a guy who didn't again he's a guy that just didn't have the confidence and he was getting bullied bald last year. And i think that this is a big step in the right direction for a guy that might get some obviously playing time at the guard. But taking a lotta snaps at center. It's one of those things words like you know. Whatever he goes ask as kick last year did you. Did i took that person aaron. Donald abuse our offense of mines. Everyone first game of the season assured bro. It's it's one of those things but you're you're looking at it. It's like aaron donald. Probably like i'm going against who he's like. Okay let me go car rooms. Or we're making a big deal out of this guys come on and then connor williams right is confidence. But what you you really think that like. We got this all now. Connor williams is the greatest offensive. Lineman i say that. I say that it's absolutely just calm down calm. I tell you what it's game up over. it was. It was break. Yeah they were in the trenches man and then you're gonna get now you're gonna get in a fight just whatever you not only a fight that he threw one. That's 'cause he's getting abused. Eric getting mad because he's probably like this is supposed to be now. We're don't come on man. I'm with three hundred million dollars. You guys now in that. He's a little for christ. Six tabuchi throws the towel on somebody else. Picks it off the towel. Sidearm like sign on head. God doesn't even go to the rain. Goodness gracious could i find it very encouraging. Because that's what that's what these four. That's what these four and don't get it twisted..

"Of you know in a secondary Says that they do have some hope for him. I'm calling with don. I think that he would be best at safety. I do think that i am surprised. I haven't given them more look stare. I wonder if they used the preseason At adl or they just Law kohl's internet is not is acting up corner if they just keep them there I would skip that break up a little bit. Yeah you broke up pretty bad. But i think we call it the gist of it. I mean you know definitely definitely thought we'd see more looks at free safety especially in training camp and stuff like that. But i mean i feel like before he could really get started. He you know he's injured his banged up. He's not practicing. So i think for him like i mean it. Sure seems like you're outside. Corners are trayvon digs and kelvin. Joseph i i don't even though it's listed differently on charts and stuff like that i just don't see them giving anthony brown outside corner job over kelvin. Joseph i wouldn't do that Safi like it's gonna come down to anthony brown and george lewis as a starting nickel and then i mean if maurice candidate and those guys are playing ball like you could see jordan lewis or anthony brown not make the roster out of preseason like i think that's a real realistic possibility to save some money and and maybe go a little bit younger and and kinda hit a reset button there but That's pretty much the gist of the defenders. We wanna talk to. We're going to move over to the offense aside the ball and talk about some these offense the guys that were kind of hoping you know show up in preseason because they may be necessarily haven't done so so far in camp thanks to t mobile for supporting this episode and for keeping baseball fans around.
Best Positions for the Cowboy's Free Agents in 2021 Season Draft
"Let's talk Cowboys on today's episode. I was talking about free agency. And and this is now the time of year to be talking for you to see if we're not talking about Dak Prescott and let me ask you if you could only because it's the Cowboys here and we're not going to get greedy. If you could only sign one position in free agency. What position would that be? Before so we're assuming that co-signed here or do I have to yes. Yes. Okay. So if I'm if I'm kind of like sweeping generalities one position, it's probably a cornerback. That's that's where I'm going. And I think that's where there's the the largest amount of options especially with the fact that both Judo and Jordan Lewis are departing and free agency. I think that's where the most shallow at the moment. I don't think there's like a safety that that makes you know, it makes me want to make a bagel. You know what I mean right now, like there's not that guy in this year's free-agency. So I'd probably go corner. What's yours free safety because there is that Gap there's lots of those guys. There's good depth of pool at free safety here with I mean Marcus May and John Johnson Marcus Williams, I mean Justin Simmons is my guy but I don't sure first of all he's going to he's going to make money and second of all he's probably not going to leave the Broncos, but I think there's four or five guys right now. 24 to 27 years old high high level free safeties that are probably gonna hit the market and that's that's without. You know, some of these other guys have the market inevitably because of Captain D's because the Caps going down but I'm not Corner would be second for me. I just think if there's one position to splurge and it's free safety cuz I like Trevon Diggs. I liked the Cowboys going heavy draft capital a first round pick in the corner position. So I think you can invest in in corner line back or defensive line offensive line in in the draft one position. I'm prioritizing it for you to be fifty. But I also like I wouldn't be mad if it was Corner either. Yeah.
Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line In Flux Due To Injuries
"Have lots of talk about as it relates the cowboys I just what I think of this team this year and the expectations after Jerry Jones finally made the gutting decision that led to Jason Garrett showing up the building every day with a binder underneath his arm and dutifully hoping that he would. Get a stay of execution cowboy fan celebrated not only the draft pick a CD lamb but a coach was skins. Mike McCarthy hasn't exactly translated into the season that they had hoped for, and we're expecting some of it has to do with injuries bobby and we'll get to those in a second but a lot of teams are having to deal with injuries this year. Yeah. I, mean, the team the cowboys have up here the browns they've got a lot of injuries to deal with I. Mean The seahawks had you know a lot of patchwork stuff that they were doing last Sunday against the cowboys and so injuries are an excuse they're not necessarily a good excuse though for this cowboys team I think they, they definitely are missing some guys. They probably feel a little bit like we're not gonNA know who we are for real until probably mid October when randy gets reinstated fully you get hopefully late and vander aeschbacher. Corner start getting healthy so. It may be a situation where the cowboys are kind of you know we're GONNA fight and we're GONNA get as best we can until we get healthy and that's not necessarily an excuse that they're giving. It's just this is the way it's gotta be, and we kind of make do a little bit because they are decimated in the secondary. They've had issues at linebacker they've you know had the issues along the offensive line they lost jar when they're starting tight end and So I, mean they've definitely. Had those issues the thing that they don't want. You, you can't really do anything about injuries. You just adapt as best. You can the thing they don't want his they can't have. Three drops and you know two and a half yards per touch from Zeke Elliott. They can't have Jalen Smith missing tackles consistently and still be sixty million dollar guy they can't have. Dak Prescott turning the ball over. They need to have him protecting the ball. They can't have you know some of these. Occasional Amari Cooper focus drops. You expect injuries you deal with those. What you can have is all of that and then along in the secondary, you can't have guys just making really low I q reads and busted covered just stuff that doesn't seem to be a factor of trying to learn a new defense. This just seems like flat out low I q stuff of not recognizing who's assignment is who's You know I think back to Jalen Smith's comment to a about. Throwing it out through a little bit. Maybe they need to simplify the playbook if our fans aren't familiar with that one, let's play that one real quick. People, find beams the defense could innocent the group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I. Believe. Allowing more allowing US more opportunities to Hound in on what? We're actually going to run in in our game plan. I believe it's important. That each and every player knows in and out what they have to do. With a smaller playbook, you you know gives us better opportunity to do that. And like I said this about as growing each and every week. On coaches are the same page, the players on the same page and we're just trying to do whatever it takes to get that much better. Each and everyone is that players that aren't capable of learning the playbook or is it possibly too complicated? I don't know but I, got to tell you for all the people that wanted Rod. Marinelli Outta here have been overly impressed with Mike Nolan's defense. Again, injuries are an issue, I mean you lose Gerald McCoy loosely Van Deresh. You lose your to starting Corner Anthony Brown, and Lucy, but even they were healthy in that first game. I didn't think this team look that good. No, and you know it's again it's one of those things where not even a mention he's been healthy for the season but Jordan Lewis missed all the camp. I. Sale. Yeah. Exotic Woods was a big part of your problem last Sunday against the seahawks but I think overall everybody's got to step up. You know it's funny. We had Had the funny line during training camp. When asked him do you think about opting out at all and he said, Nope, contract to your baby and there's a lot of guys back there right now in contractors Jordan Lewis Cheeto you've got exertive your woods is another one. And it's fascinating that they're seeming to have these issues not just with again, the adjustment or or or skill players opposite them it's they're just dropping the ball in terms of. Knowing really basic fundamental stuff that that should have been all ironed out already and and you can say, maybe that's a a an issue with you didn't have some of the same lead up time or some of the same work that you would normally get but everybody had those same sort of issues and and not everybody is having these same sorts of just busted coverage touchdowns. I. Think there's four already on the year that were just left wide open by somebody not knowing an assignment including three last week against the
