"What do you think a contract extension might actually look like? So I don't have clarity on that front yet. I doubt they do, to be honest with you. To the credit of warriors ownership, I tell you, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but they are cutting shacks these days. And I understand that the Chase center is an ATM for them. It's a huge money maker. But they have been willing to pay and they are deep in the luxury tax. So what does that mean for Jordan's extension? That will be fascinating. My colleague, Tim kawakami, came up with the lineup nickname death and maxes, which of course is a hat tip to the old death lineup, but more importantly, you're talking about the max reference being the Jordan conceivably would be another max player on the warriors. Now, I don't know if that's going to be the case just yet. Another colleague of mine, I'm going to lean on here. John hollinger said recently and remember John comes from the Memphis Grizzlies front office that if he was in there, shoes, the warriors, that he thinks he approached would be, you're giving him a very healthy extension and the number he threw out there was like four years, a $100 million, which is significantly below where his max would be, but you have a guy who's making, I believe, three and a half million roughly right now. It would be extremely tough for somebody like Jordan to say no to that kind of money. And you wonder then, is he going to get hung up on the fact that maybe if he waits till the following off season that he could get a full max, you know, I think there will probably find some common ground in the middle there, but it'll be a pretty interesting negotiation. If they hold on and beat the grizzlies, the next opponent for the warriors will be the sons or the Mavs. So how do they match up against Phoenix and what would you be watching for in that series? So the sun's matchup, I think, would be extremely tough for the warriors. And I think a really good series because draymond green has been their superpower on the defensive end, but Deandre ayton is a beast and he is versatile and it makes me think about Rudy Gobert three time defensive player of the year, but a guy who recently focused on his struggles on the perimeter in switchability when it comes to being a big of that size. Deandre has figured out how to survive with the little guys on the edges in ways that really, really impresses me and I think is going to make them more dangerous against this warriors team that the lineup we mentioned before with draymond at the 5 and Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole and Steph Curry and clay Thompson. The question for an 8 in type would be, can he stay on the floor? And I think he might be able to. So then you're talking to Chris Paul versus Steph Curry, which sign me up for that every day of the week, come and get your popcorn, tons of history there. You look at Chris and his personal journey and the idea that from last season to this season, these are his two best chances at a championship of his entire career. But yet again, for Chris. I mean, Chris is going to bed at night, you know, and having these nightmares about Steph and his guys because they are always in the way. So I think it'd be a great series. I don't know who I'd be picking, but I think it would very possibly be going all 7. How did they match up against the Mavs? And what would you be watching for in that series? I think the Mavs, warriors series would be entertaining. It wouldn't have as many storylines if the warriors faced the suns, but in terms of pace, it's going to be get up and go because the bigs and that one are mostly going to be left on the sideline. It's going to be a small series that the Mavs play 5 out so often with Luca doing his thing and they are trying right now to make sure that they somehow maximize Lucas incredible scoring ability, but they're at their best when he's finding guys. But it would be a good series, you know? You got Jason Kidd coming back to the bay in that one, get back to his roots a little bit. I think the warriors knowing that one, they are the significantly better team. I think even with the Mavs, pushing like they are right now against Phoenix, so I'd have the warriors in that series. Well, finally, Sam, as you mentioned, the warriors have found this lineup combo that has just been giving teams fits. Does this revamp warriors team have what it takes to win it all for the first time since 2018? And is it fair to say that Jordan Poole could be the missing ingredient to getting back there? I think I'm going to give you a yes and yes, on both of those. I think that to the last one, Jordan is the special ingredient because the truth is if you study Steph and clay over the course of the past couple of weeks, they're not actually playing all that well. And they're not playing to their standards. So you ask yourself, well, then how is it that the warriors find themselves in control of this series against Memphis and made relatively quick work against Denver? It's because of Jordan Poole. He has allowed for a margin of error with these warriors that they did not think was going to exist. And the wild part is, for Golden State, is that if you would have asked them, okay, which of your young guys that you went out and got it because they had a bad couple of years, you know, they've now got Jonathan come inga. They got Moses moody, they got James wiseman of all those guys, you know, who would have thought that the 28th pick out of Michigan, Jordan Poole would be far and away the most impactful player at this point, but he has been an X Factor, and I think the warriors are capable of winning it all. I probably am still not giving them FrontRunner status. I've been trying to be respectful with good reason to the sun. You know, who dominated during the regular season, the Milwaukee is in a dogfight with Boston. You got a lot of good teams out east. So it's fairly wide open. The warriors to me are in that group and I really don't think they would be there without Jordan Poole. Well, thank you so much for telling us this story, Sam, and very glad you got Jordan pool to talk for longer than 90 seconds. You got it. Always got more than 90 seconds for you to appreciate it. "Arms and he's been soaking everything up like he should. I can't say that I want to be great or, you know. I want to make an impact if I'm not applying myself. You know, it just happens to be that these guys are some of the greatest basketball players of all time. So you had to work a lot harder, you know, to kind of even gain their trust. Was there a point where Jordan pool thought he might not put it all together? You would think so. So I asked him what his lowest point was. And 13 seconds went by before he answered. He just sat there chewing on it. What was your lowest point? When it comes to belief. Right. What comes to mind? And I was kind of waiting for some sort of profound answer. He ended up deciding that there wasn't really a low point because he didn't lose faith that it would happen. There was never really a point to me where I didn't believe it would happen if that makes sense. Okay. Because if anything, when it gets tough, that means it's working. That's how I look at it. You get a sense of where his head was at. He just has a pretty healthy mentality and work ethic and that idea that it's almost Greg Popovich esque where you kind of keep pounding The Rock and chipping away at things and you're going to develop you're going to get better. So when did it really start to come together for him? Is there one specific turning point that stands out? I don't have a game in mind. I laugh because it's like we now with good reason are already talking about Jordan Poole as a guy that is going to be an all star caliber player for years to come. And I think that probably is the case. But on the other side of that, it's only been about two months, three months since he's really shown the kind of player he could be. The warriors early on this season when they jump out of the gate and they had far and away the best record of the NBA early. You know, he was doing his thing, but it wasn't to this level. It was that staff injury late in the regular season that I think put him in a new lane. When we have a good sample size, this is not just a couple of weeks. This guy has been shooting around 50 plus percent overall, 40% from three for quite a while now and doing it in a pretty versatile way. Well, Sam, you also wrote about a moment during the first round of these playoffs, game three against the nugget specifically. Where Jordan Poole, the 22 year old, all of a sudden seemed to be playing the role of leader for his veteran teammates. Can you recreate that scene for us? So late in game three against Denver, Jordan, you know, it comes to the warriors huddle. And I don't know why, I think I'm assuming Steve Kerr had been off talking to his assistant coaches about what they wanted to do coming out of the break, but Jordan, I believe, sits in Steve seat and just decides, you know what, I got something to say here because he didn't love the energy with the group and he kind of clarified. It wasn't that it was bad energy, but everybody was a little too quiet for his taste. And the thing about Jordan as he explains is that growing up in Wisconsin, playing at Michigan, he has always seen himself as a leader and a guy who is willing to be vocal. So he basically sits down and he kind of smacks draymond on the leg and tries to get everybody's attention and just told each of them, in essence, to go be who they are. Steph, be a dog. Clay, you get anyone. I can down wigs. You aggressive, draymond. Take somebody out the game. There's more stuff like that. This is the time at any time, step up. Steph go do what you do, draymond, be a dog, take somebody out the game, you don't clay. If you get a sliver of sunlight, shoot that thing, 'cause that's what you do. And that's kind of what I think is so cool about the way Jordan is moving within this group is that you gotta understand, I don't care what you do for a living basketball, whatever. These are some of the most accomplished people in his industry for all of time. And for him, at this point in his young career, to feel kind of empowered enough to do that, speaks volumes about him, he finds about their group. So kind of a cool moment and something that he kind of shrugged at like this is no big deal. This is who we've become and this is who I am. Coming up, a big payday is on the horizon for Jordan Poole. And what to expect if the warriors advance to the Western Conference Finals. We get support from whoop, the world's most powerful personalized digital fitness and health coach. "Even after a lopsided loss in game 5, the Golden State Warriors are knocking on the door of the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2019. And on a team with decorated stars from Steph Curry to Klay Thompson to draymond green, one of their most clutch performers in these playoffs has been 22 year old Jordan Poole. There's the sidestep three off the bounce. Jordan cool out of the fish freeze. The athletic Sam amick recently spoke to pool, and today he tells us the story of his remarkable rise. From a struggling rookie who toiled away in the G league to suddenly becoming one of the go to guys on a title contender. They've now got Jonathan flamingo, they got Moses moody, they got James wiseman of all those guys, you know, who would have thought that the 28th pick out of Michigan, Jordan Poole would be far and away the most impactful player at this point. Plus, what the road ahead looks like for the warriors in these playoffs. And for a soon to be very rich, Jordan Poole and Golden State. From wondering, I'm Tiffany osinski, it's Friday, may 13th, and this is the lead. Oh, it's Friday the 13th. Oh boy. I just realized that right now, as I said that. Sam, maybe welcome back to the lead. Thank you for having me. I didn't realize that either. Well, I don't know if what that means for the pod, but happy the 13th. I think the question is, what does that mean for the warriors? I don't know. Well, Sam, we've seen you file stories from San Francisco and Phoenix to name just a couple cities during these playoffs. Where are we talking to you from right now? And how hectic has your travel schedule been this postseason, especially compared to recent years. The day line is beautiful outgrow of California, a suburb of Sacramento. This is where we live. So home for a few days. And you make a great point about the last couple of years, if you go two years ago, I did cover the bubble, but the first half of the bubble in Orlando, I was sitting home watching playoff games a second half. I was there in person, fast forward another year, the access wasn't what we are used to and playoffs. And so didn't really do much until Conference Finals. So the hectic part of it was different for a couple of years. I missed it. I didn't miss it. I'm kind of split to be honest with you. But we're good. I mean, the action's been fun. So happy to be here. Definitely definitely been fun. Well, we're here today to look at one of the breakout stars of these playoffs, Jordan Poole, and first things first. Pool got caught up in some controversy recently with grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins saying that pool swiping at John Moran's knee caused a knee injury that knocked morant out of the playoffs. We just watched the replay, he was going after a dribble and Jordan pole actually grabbed his knee and yanked it, which kind of triggered whatever happens. So I'm actually going to be very curious to see what happens after that. Where do things stand with this whole thing now? Does it feel like it's starting to blow over? I don't honestly know exactly where it stands. I know where I stand, which is I really love this grizzlies group. I love what they're about, and how talented they are and how much promise they have. All of that being said, you can tell there's a butt coming. I think they get a little ahead of themselves when it comes to this part of the game. And this is playoffs, and I get that it's going to be edgy, but to me, the Jordan pool play was not anywhere remotely worthy of John Moran tweeting out the Jordan had broke the code and then deleting the tweet and then Taylor Jenkins indicating that he thought that Jordan played a part in jazz injury. I'm certainly not a doctor, but in terms of the eyeball test, what Jordan did with his intent to whatever degree you can judge that and then also the injury, I think for the most part, it's much ado about nothing. And it's not remotely close to the Dylan Brooks play on Gary paid in the second, which is obviously the context of some of the way the grizzlies have reacted to this. So I hope everybody moves on. I know Jordan, you know, certainly hopes that ja can get healthy soon, and these guys can do their thing. You and me, we're going to move on from this drama with the new injury. So can you just remind us for anyone who doesn't know, just how good pool has been down the stretch and in these playoffs? He's been great. I mean, if you hit the rewind button real quick because I think the context matters. If you go to his rookie year and I know we're going to go down memory lane a little bit, but when Steph Curry only played 5 games, Jordan had a runway with the warriors that nobody saw coming. And it wasn't a good start to his NBA career. He really struggled, but recently we are seeing the best version of this young dude and Steph getting hurt late in the regular season. Yet again, you know, I think open that door, but this time in a much more meaningful way where he was their leading scorer for the last two months of the year. If you looked at his shooting splits, they were kind of dare we say Steph Curry ask in terms of accuracy, doing great things. Then he hits the playoffs and the question becomes, can Steve Kerr and his coaching staff find a way to maximize this young guy in Jordan Poole within the context of having Steph back and Klay Thompson and the other guys on this team. And we saw especially in the Denver series that that was the case. But what a great job creating space there off the dribble wide open jumper not sit down. He is a smooth player. He's got a fluidity to his movement offensively that, you know, he's been compared to stuff. That's way too easy. He's on his team and Steph is one of one, but the fluidity is something that I think they do have in common. And the shot is a quick trigger, if you will. That's got a Jordan pull from way downtown. And the lead is up to four. What a shot. And what a player he's turned into. But he gets to the rim too. He's not just a shooter by any means, and he's got this what I think is an incredibly entertaining ability to finish at the rim in traffic. That's absolute explosive speed. Change the directions, put you on your heels and then the ability to finish and traffic. Numbers wise, you're talking 18 and a half points in the regular season when we get to this playoff run so far and again bear in mind he's surrounded by future Hall of Famers still averaging 21 points in that series against Denver. Those are big time numbers and the kinds of numbers that when you have three 20 plus point scores in all for Jordan to keep making that kind of impact is super impressive. But we also saw a moment during the first round series against the nuggets where pool was doing a postgame TV interview. And while he was talking about his veteran teammates, Klay Thompson came in and just crashed the interview. You guys have given me that confidence, you know? Just to know what it's like to be in it..

At the end of the series. And here's a rookie pitcher making his second or third career start. It was in April and the series of errors. I think in the second inning. And you know he gives up some runs and then he and then he gives them the hook and it was hardly his fault and there wasn't a big crowd but I I'm sitting in the third row and I opened up on Larussa as he came back to the dugout and said that's the team. You put out there for a rookie pitcher. You put out the the end of the dugout. You've put out there to support this kid. And he started. He started a mother. Fuck me and it was hysterical and and people people I think. Got A big kick out of it. My Buddy Dave Kaufman wasn't your day. Was I think a little embarrassed and I forget who it is and I I it might have been. I was oil can boyd with them at at some point in his career. I remember the red site. I don't really remember him. I think he put their head out of the dugout and said WHO yelling at skip. Yelling that the skip but I I find it very easy to root it gets larosa. Let's talk about. Let's talk about your association with with the game to and and how did you get involved with Fast Pharaoh? How many how many horses. Mitch have you been involved with Quite a few I I got affiliated. He probably knows. This group is called my rates for. Yeah yeah of course and It's an easier way to get in because they're microbes shares. It's easy to get into something like this without killing yourself so But I did. I got into a horse named Takeo squared. Which is a Square Eddie Horse And a little bit down the line. I I am the giving His brother squared straight and He's exactly the same Lineage as to Kale Kale ended up breaking his leg at some point but he he was it was a lateral break so he ended up being fine didn't race again but he was on his way he was quite award. So then This last year Before before the Kentucky Oaks. I was offered a chance to get into street man. She ended up. You know she. She ended up qualifying for that rave. And so my family and I. We all went out there and Just checked out the whole thing. It was incredible an incredible time and But I forgot to tell you that the reason I got into my ray source was because my daughter was it a booth and I kind of went there. I don't think so but we went home. She goes online and she showed me this. And I kinda my wife gave me the eye and then we just did it. We got into one horse and then Got Into Horse called zestful get cleaned later on down the line and ended up winning all kinds of races after that but But we going back to Street bench she She won the last year In Philadelphia in front of a bunch of Colorado rockies players that were in my locker room and they're cheering on he was on. Nbc and the dodger players knew about it but it was like crazy. 'cause she came out of the gate a since she stayed there for so long and Sophie Dole actually brought on the outside ends up winning the thing in my gosh guys were going crazy in the locker room. I kind of laughed because the left the locker room because Oh my gosh. We're an eight and she's standing there. We're not GONNA do anything. And then you see the tortoise got so much mud on it you can't even feel. It was her and she ended up pulling that thing out and winning and And.

"Much like Jack. Buck's will hear Jack box the call at the end when we finish. But just an unbelievable and including and one of the funny things Mitch that that you had a nickname for Gibson's double clutch pump. Same thing that you know remember burning Nichols played for For the king's back when sure aides and stuff up Bernie did this thing. He did the same kind of thing so we call it the pumpernickel. That's all the pumpernickel that well. It's funny that you bring up a hockey hockey celebration because in fact that is you know guys go down to one knee after slapshot or score and and they they pump a couple of times with their right or left and defending you know if they're right handed a left hand that I can absolutely envision that and Cape J. Pregnant is appreciating. Go Kings go reference absolutely well? That was the real kings with the with the purple and yellow before this offer black and white smart home. You Bet you bet well Mitch from that point on. Obviously they go on and you win. They didn't sweep the red swept them anytime that Larussa gets beat. I celebrate And you know that part right for four games to one never forget someone was The fifteen and in Oakland. I happen to be sitting myself on the on the top step of the dugout there and had my back leaning against some some padding and I found myself that we need one out. That's all we need is one out. I couldn't believe it's like you forgot everything in between. That's you know I'm the day before. Mark mcgwire hit a laser homerun said Jay. How on The they had a walk off home. Run BUT Jay took care of it after that suits and the aftermath talk about the aftermath of the home. Run too because you you essentially became part of the story and and Gibson deferred a lot of a lot of media toward you. Yeah it's funny. But you know Ben Hinds the same coach that were time hitting coach Everybody crowded around him and they asked him about about the Homerun. 'cause I don't know ask Mitch. And he pointed my direction. So we're going down the the area that I was telling you about the that we were working in. There is like a mirror and you get to you can watch yourself swing and make adjustments and whatever and I got back up against that mirror and There's probably fifteen fifteen reporters there in Is it was Kinda crazy. It was real feel like the home run was how did how did USA. Today seek you out for that story yesterday. GET I. I had Bob Bob Nightingale actually called me send attacks and said he wanted to talk and he wanted to talk about horses and stuff. I don't think anything about horses even got in with but he Yeah that's that's how that happened it's crazy but ESPN two Radi of peace with me yesterday. But but it's Kinda weird because I mean we got all the time on our hands now with this pandemic in it's like this is all come back again and it's it's kind of amazing but it's it's like baseball without baseball well and and that's really been true. I think of you know of a lot of a lot of team sport conversation and and highlights the different networks are playing historic games and greatest games ever and so you know it's occupying people's minds and at it brings back you know wonderful mostly wonderful memories for for people obviously there's invariably somebody You know there's there's fans and players organizations on the UNBE losing end of a Lotta these moments you actually had. I not not to bring up a a lot of futility since that moment thirty five years with the team and I mean the dodgers have come close. There's been big expectations. You now actually are are the the visiting clubhouse manager and take care of The visitors Talk about talk about your. Did you ever expect to keep to stay with them? And basically end up. You know having a lifelong career with the with the dodgers. I basically found myself on the home side. You know but it one point. I thought you know it wouldn't be so bad. Moving over there to give me more chance to be with my family and I'm not traveling every game and So it it it is pretty cool man over there because you meet a lot of different people.

"Gabby was telling them what scenario can happen like you know somebody gets on. He wants to hit. And so. That's what happened unbelievable. We're GONNA do that as soon as Deja lets me know that I. I've got both of the calls. And the yeah the drama. The drama involved in this every time you watch it and you can hear the snippet calls from scully and from Jack Buck but there was tremendous tension and The there's a four minute the whole at-bat actually is available and with Vin scully's Commentary and it includes the includes some graphics that really enhanced the whole story because Eckersley hadn't given up a home run since mid August and it was absolutely at the top of his. You know at the top of his dominant run as a as a closer and so the probability of rallying against Eckersley was You know really prominent in this storyline. Yeah it really was. I just know that when I was down there watching Kirk and twitch and everything else I think he went out there A little too early. They didn't want The Oakland brass to see that he was available or anything and he goes up. And he's ready to get called stepping up and getting into the Into on-deck circle and the fans are gone crazy. I mean I think he was locked in earlier but I think it is absolutely brought him to the point where he was on a mission right there and so. I'm watching this and you know he. It's took a long time to go through. The battery is Fallon Bald Off. And then he was taking pitches and In hobbling up the line and I just Something came over me time. It was kind of like a supernatural type thing and My hair stood up on my arm and I just see a ball. I imagine a ball going out to right field and landing in the staff and the crazy thing about it is you talk about. Goosebumps is connected in. That ball took the same flight that I saw in hit exactly the same spot that I was looking at and People think I'm crazy but it's something that I brought up later after time that story many years ago. But it's like that's what actually happened. Unbelievable and involved in the whole scheme of things was Mike Davis stealing second which kind of change the scenario. I mean really. At that point all Gibson probably has to do is get a ball out of the Infield and Davis is going to tie it up but instead we get this. Here's Vin scully. That part of that part of of scully's call is the is the you know the Gotcha line.

"By and we were losing the time for two three. And he probably wasn't real excited or anything but her Kinda was because. Hey Ben can you help me on and wanted to get Mitch to help you out? And so that's how that's basically how I got into that part of the story and I I really had not remembered how things that had unfolded behind the scenes and there was plenty of reporting about it but the story in USA. Today yesterday Really kind of detailed it and you couldn't go into the dugout itself. But you needed you needed to communicate lasorda that that Gibson wanted to play and Gibson was available to pinch it right well. What had happened as well while I was sitting there. I started placing a baseball on a tee in the location that they felt the back door. Slatter would come in to and after a while. Kirk goes You know eight. Can you give me some a little bit of motion? Because I'm not going to see a ball sitting there for me so you throw it into that that area and so I go okay. So we started doing that and then he stopped and he goes. Hey Mitch this could be the script just like that. I'll never ever forget those words. That's just the way he put it. Was you know what he's talking about? So then I walked down the ramp all the way I got because he told me he. He'll get Tommy some. I can hit and so I'm.

"Absolute pleasure to have Mitch Pool. Join US Mitch. Good Morning. Thanks the composer. Obviously you watch the game last night right or did you just tune in for the late stages yeah I had people text me Senate surrounding sixth-inning the as or of four. You know what I'm going to. Chime in in about twenty minutes or so and then I started watching it for you know feeling not feeling but knowing what part of the game. I was getting ready to well. Let's let's set the stage and explain this and we'll we'll talk about your association on the racetrack in a minute but you know how old really the time and and how did you. How did you originally sign on As with the dodgers twenty four at the time but I I ended up Actually sorry I've started at twenty one years old and I was at Pasadena City College on the baseball team and one of my buddies Was A batboy for the dodgers. But he never really got anything for me like A. It'd be great if You know I tried to get a job over there. Whatever but as time went on During nineteen eighty five. He he said. Hey you You'd never asked me about coming in and working all the other guys they do but I will. I saw the look on your face when when people constantly asked you so. I wasn't going to do that but he goes well. Why don't you come in unload the truck tomorrow? It's coming in from Houston via LAX. We got unloaded trucks because we have opening day here. It is a His boss David Wright After we were done unpacking stuff. Hey you might wanna come tomorrow and dress out and You know maybe go down the line and throat warm up the outfielders and stuff and I go. I'll be there so I ended up doing that and I had known John Scott The guy. That was a bad boy there. Before for many years we plan on traveling teams and we ended up at fascinating city together. But that that's how that's how. It got started unbelievable and so a couple of years later. You're now base leave. Yeah basically one of the clubhouse attendants Yeah Yeah Fortress Nineteen. Eighty-eight was my last year batboy and great great year to go out on. But I I was kind of working in and out of the clubhouse dressing out and and give another guy a chance to go out there so I might chance right. There was not getting dressed and I just happen to be around. And that's why my involvement with Kirk at the time unbelievable and of course Gibson comes into the into the world series and at and at the time I can recall the mets right. I mean the mets had been had been the National League have been really terror all year right and put them away. Yeah I believe the mets beat the dodgers eleven times in Las one during the regular season. So that goes to show you how that team won. The world series getting started and At the at Dodger Stadium Gibson was I mean hobbled completely hobbled and talk about what was going on going into game one. Yeah well Just before he won was They had a team workout. The dodgers team workout later in the day dodger stadium but I actually came in and it was probably probably about one o'clock in the afternoon. I'm walking to the bottom Not The loads but the field area looking out on the field as I'm walking toward home plate area to go downstairs and I look out to the left and I see all these guys stretching with gold and green on and I'm like all my God. We don't have a chance because these guys are monsters. You know but that that was.

"You're listening to the best of Todd and Don on NewsRadio KLBJ, we talk a lot about affordable housing here in Austin, reaching critical. Mass more people are moving out of town. The school district is losing kids. Some folks just can't afford to live here anymore. And the city council has passed a variety of bond packages to help subsidize apartments and housing for those that just can't afford to live here. Now, Representative Gina hit a Hosa. She's a democrat from Austin? She has filed a Bill to overturn the state's ban on inclusionary zoning the Bill would allow cities to mandate affordable housing through land use codes. A said in a news release that HP thirty fifty would allow Texas cities to require developers to build affordable housing as part of any new development. Now, the mandate would come through zoning laws the practice is used widely in other states, but it's been prohibited. Here in Texas for more than a decade. And according to city council member Leslie Poole, according to release approached by hit host about introducing this legislation. She's Leslie Poole went to lawmaker Gina Hinojosa. Hey, help us. We'll Austin is growing at the, but the but that same growth is leaving many of our residents behind a hostess said in her press release when council member lushly pull approach me about this. I could see a lot of potential in working with our city partners to try to help deal with the affordability crisis here in Austin and across the state this affordable housing makes Austin less affordable. That's that's the thing. What what about if how how the taxpayers like you and me how we're affected by the fact that. We have to subsidize his housing, which makes our taxes. Go through helps our taxes go through the roof. It's never gonna end. This town will never be affordable. I'm tired. I'm tired of you and others complaining about it. Really? Why you guys put these people in office on the Austin city council? Look at me, they all ran ran on campaigns to do this. You got no reason to complain. I know I know what you're trying to say. And your point is. Bullet please leave me out of that. Because I didn't vote for any. If you're mad at it. Now, you got to move I understand and the deal is we might have to a lot of people have to because their property taxes are going it's, but please don't don't include me. Don't look at me when you say that I did not vote for these pool and her fellow council members Alison alter Greg casare, an an kitchen and Kathy Tobu plan to sponsor local resolutions to support in a hostess Bill inclusionary zoning is the most effective thing. We could do to provide affordable housing in every area of the city is what Leslie Poole said the cities are becoming more and more democratic progressive. And I think we have a great opportunity to get this passed. That's what she says..

Because the high school is clearly it's a powerhouse. When do you? What's the coming? I wanna say coming to Jesus moment. It's little over the top. What's the what's the moment that hits you where wait a second? You are replaceable. How far before you go to fort valley state where you find out. You know what I'm not done with football yet. I guess as you can see. See before you actually get to where you're going. So again, the grain how school was so dominant with these. We've almost a who's who. So I knew before I even got to the house school level. How talented we were. So you're always gave a football. You always coaches always trying to replace they are always trying to add depth. So, you know, you also see it in practice, the guys that you going against, you know, even though you team mate, you know, you get every running back if you're running back ever receive your receiver run to rouse. But what I really hit home was when I went to apply for different positions coaching colleges. Or what have you and no matter where I went. It was always part of the recommend the requirement. Was you had to have a four year degree at everything else? That didn't have it for you to greet at for you to greet was by they football sports was my salary cap.
